« Great Place to Stay »

We stayed at the Best Western Sunset Inn in July 2016. Our room was clean and newly remodeled. The room had a microwave and fridge. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was adequate. There was a playground for children as well as 2 swimming pools. We would stay here again.

    « Nice Place »

The motel is located in town, but is pretty quiet despite the location. This is a motel with buildings that reach far back off of the road. Rooms were decent, clean, nothing special. Staff was pleasant and helpful. No rooms with views, drive up to your door and park.

    « Great people! »

Cody, WY, is a cute town on the east side of Yellowstone Park, so it is a good place to stay to access that part of the park. We had a reservation at this hotel, but somehow it had gotten lost and they were completely booked in the price-range of our room. But Chris on the desk saved the day!! He put us in a much larger space for the same price. We were SO appreciative!! The place was very clean and quiet, the beds were extremely comfortable with quality bedding and they served a nice complimentary breakfast.

    « Cozy in Cody »

The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable with plenty of room. The layout of the hotel was unusual; it was all single story like a motel. It was located with easy access to downtown, the Cody Museum and restaurants.

    « Yellowstone trip »

This hotel was in beautiful Cody Wyoming 50 mules from Yellowstone but the drive in each day was breathtaking and we saw a lot of wildlife even before entering the park, Cody has some excellent restaurants for breakfast and dinner.

« In the mild Wyoming hills »

Very nice hotel near the heart of a quaint town. Excellent services and amenities. The hotel had a wonderful hot tub and pool (indoors). I liked having the breakfast served in the adjoining cafe and having someone serve you..

    « Comfortable, clean room »

Stayed her 3 nights, while visiting Buffalo Bill Museum, and the east entrance to Yellowstone. Convenient location for both. Comfortable bed. Good towels. Great water pressure. Renee (housekeeper) made swan towels in our room. Nice treat. There is a very good restaurant next door. This would have been a five, but we were told by front desk that the hours for breakfast were changed to 7-10 from 6-9. We got to breakfast room at 9:30 and we're told only coffee was available.

    « Wonderful »

We stayed for 7 nights while we visited Yellowstone. Our room was great, plenty of space. Very clean and decorated with a lodge feel. We were in room 120 real close to the front office. Worked in the morning for breakfast. The breakfast changed everyday, nice selection. All the staff was great and friendly.

    « Vintage Made Modern »

Updated, modern motel with all the amenities. It was great to park right in front of your room to unload. (No fetching luggage carrier, taking elevator and then, returning said carrier.) 2 comfy chairs in room to read, watch TV, or surf the web vs laying on the bed. Good WiFi connection and Breakfast with a restaurant next door with "comfort" food" plus adult beverages. Rooms were clean with newer furnishings. Good location for East entrance of Yosemite. Recommend.

    « What a pleasant surprise »

My husband booked this Inn without researching enough to find out it is a motel, not a hotel. When we arrived, we were in shock as we haven't stayed in a motel since 1970. We were also shocked that a motel was charging this much for one night's stay. The friendly front desk lady assured us that they had just been newly renovated and she gave us a corner room. She also said the rate was well below what we would pay for other comparable rooms in the area. The room was dimly lit, but newly furnished and the bathroom had the latest fixtures. It was a good location just outside of Yellowstone. The full breakfast was very good. We did have to share a table with another person. We were pleasantly surprised how nice the place was. The beds were comfortable and we did not hear other guests coming and going.

« Good chooise for us. »

After a long day in Yellowstone it was a fine motel too end the day at in a nice town. It's all ground floor and you park outside the door, easy and good after long days... The rooms are pretty much "Best Western standard", maybe a little better, Motel is clean and has everything you possible could need, the staff are helpful. Breakfast was ok but the breakfast area was way too small

« Stay near Yellowstone National Park »

We visited Yellowstone and wanted a place in Cody before heading home. We booked this room after reading the positive reviews and the price was great. This BW is a motel type which is nice for the convenience of being able to park right outside your room. We had some reviews indicating the breakfast room was overcrowded. We did not experience any problems with finding a place to enjoy breakfast. We were traveling in September so the property might not have been as busy at that time of the year. This property also has some pet rooms. If you need a pet room you must book directly with the front desk and cannot book a pet room online. If you don't have a pet you don't need to ask for a pet free room if you book online. I enjoyed being able to have vanilla yogurt with fruit and granola for toppings. A step up from the yogurt cups. They also had ice water available! We made a trip to Buffalo Bill Dam and Reservoir. Interesting site and only a short drive from Cody. Would definitely stay here again.

« Perfect Place for travelers and a short stay »

The BEST WESTERN Sunset Innat 1601 8th Street, Cody, WY 82414-4134 provides you everything you need on a short stay. Clean and large rooms, friendly and supportive staff and it is perfect located to have a walk to the surrounding area

« Older Hotel but OK for the Money »

My wife & I stayed two nights here. This is an older hotel so it doesn't have some of the amenities that newer hotels have. One advantage that this had was that all the rooms are on the ground floor and you park right outside of your room door. So no lugging your luggage through the lobby an up the elevator. There are several out buildings from the main building, plus indoor pool & laundry room. A decent hotel for the money if you don't need fancy. Typical hotel breakfast, note the breakfast area is not very large so seating can be limited.

« Perfect stay for us »

Loved the motor court layout, we parked right in front of our room. Pools and hot tub were great for wearing the kids out and the room was spacious and clean. Property was well maintained with laundry and a playground on site. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay again if we were in Cody.

    « Great experience »

We loved this hotel ... it was like stepping back in time, only updated. The buildings are spread out over large grounds that are very pretty and well maintained. Our room was very large and well laid out, clean and updated. The indoor and outdoor pools were nice as well as the large hot tub. My only complaint was the size of the breakfast room. It should be larger for that size of hotel. A very nice restaurant is next door where they offer a discount for breakfast.

« Limited number of pet friendly rooms »

The hotel has limited number of pet friendly rooms. Used third party to book a room in this hotel. When our family arrived with a cat in the car at check-in, we were surprised that there actually was no pet friendly room for us. The staff told us that we also should have called them after booking online to make sure there was really a pet friendly room left. So after 5 hours of driving we had to spend one hour waiting for the hotel manager to talk to our third part booking company about canceling our booking and refund our money. They found a room for us after an hour of phone calls from the booking company to the hotel management, but the cat was not happy in the car so we decided to book another hotel while we waited and thanked them for finding accommodations for us and the cat after an hour of problems. So if you travel with your pet and book a room at this hotel call them ahead to make sure they really will have a room for you, otherwise you might find the worst western sunset as you scramble to find another hotel for you and your pet.

    « Nice hotel »

Room was a little dated, but clean and spacious. Liked having the two separate sink areas. Convenient to attractions. Breakfast was usual continental breakfast but good. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

    « Good position »

This motel is at the end of the Main Street in Cody and the outstanding Bill Cody Museum of the West is within easy walking distance (as is the Main Street). It is a single storey building. Whilst the room was small, it was perfectly adequate with comfortable beds. Outside pool was heated and there was also an indoor pool and very large jacuzzi. Breakfast was good but dining area inadequate for numbers of guests. Suggest avoiding 8.30 am - 9.30 am. Outside eating area in process of completion - which would be fine in the summer! This is maybe a short sighted solution.

« Delightfully Surprised! Service and Nice Amenities! »

OK, so when you arrive, you think: Old School style drive up to the door motel; not gonna be updated or modernized. Surprise! This property might have the old footprint of a "motor court", but it has totally been renovated. Nice linens, electronics, a CLEAN place to do guest laundry and amazing Jamaican housekeeping staff. So friendly and willing to do anything for you! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book here again. Also, great value.

    « Nicely situated »

We staid here for a night and it was great. Parked the car right outside the room opened the door and the room was really nice. Check in was swift and the member of staff gave us a map to find the room, swimming pools etc. They were so helpful. Bed was comfy and the room spotless. Breakfast was great and had everything you need for a good start around Yellowstone.

« Quaint Older Motel Renovated to Today's Standards »

Quaint Older Motel Renovated to Today's Standards. Very convenient for visiting the Cody Museum. Being an older design with drive up parking to single story buildings was handy for this trip especially since it was raining and didn't require a long walk in the rain to the parking lot. the rooms are updated very nicely with a good western decore.

    « Yellowstone Visit »

As visitors from the UK wanting to visit Yellowstone we had to choose where to base our trip. I didn't like the look of West Yellowstone ( seemed over commercialised) so chose Cody. This hotel is well managed, clean, modern. Large rooms, pull your vehicle right up outside. Can get busy at breakfast, but if you are not on a budget there is a great breakfast place right next door. Plenty of interesting places to eat in Cody. We did find the ridiculous mini bed pillows annoying, what's wrong with normal size pillows? Travellers should be aware, however, that it is an hours drive ( pretty spectacular) to the east entrance of Yellowstone, AND THEN A FURTHER HOUR to get to the Parks main attractions. Despite this, we still reckon we chose well.

    « Nice place »

Nice clean hotel near Yellowstone. The hotel has an outside entrance and we had a great time. Friendly staff. Arrived late but would have used the outdoor pool if the rain did not start. The breakfast was included.

    « A good choice »

The bed was comfortable, the breakfast more than adequate, and the the motel was well located. It was very convenient being able to park the car immediately in front of the room. I went to the front desk to ask for an extra hand towel and was given two. There was limited seating in the breakfast area, however, on a nice day, there was seating outside.

    « Slept well! »

This hotel has 120 rooms and was booked full when I was there. Checking in was efficient and the clerk took the time to answer my questions, mark on a map where my room was, and explain parking and breakfast. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast items were replenished constantly. I was impressed with how well this large property is maintained and managed.

« We loved it here »

Sandy checked us in and could answer all our questions about the area and had ideas that we did not even think about. She was so friendly. Our room was very clean and well located. We liked that way this facility was laid out with several separate buildings that were surrounded by lawns and with convent parking. The laundry was large and convent. Great breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Cody Wy »

The staff was friendly and courteous, and quite helpful with finding a restaurant that was open late. The housekeeping staff was also friendly. This hotel was chosen because of its location to Yellowstone National Park (it is an hour outside the park). It was clean, the rooms not as large as some of the other BW hotels we stayed at during this trip

    « Super nice!! »

This is such a great property! Love that it is all one story, very spread out but you definitely don't get the typical motel feel. Location was great - walking distance to the museum. I can't say enough good things about the housekeeping staff. The room was super clean and fresh and even had towel animals great us each day. Also, they have tile floors. LOVE that feature! Will certainly be back!

« Don't judge a book by the cover! Nice motel. »

Compare hotels and motels before you make a stop in Cody. There are hotels/motels in Cody that are overpriced and since it is so close to Yellowstone they can get people to pay the price. There are two Best Western Hotels in Cody. This was a motel and set up with the typical one story buildings that are not connected. The other Best Western is a newer hotel. Most of the rooms have been remodeled and on the smaller size. However, there are new fixtures and the while the bedroom was small the new fixtures were a nice touch. The parking is very limited and needs to be improved. Get there early if you can as it can be tough to park near your room. Cars were parked both ways and made it seem like you were driving through a labyrinth. The breakfast was very nice and a nice selection of breakfast items However, there is very limited space and it was very crowded and this was at 8:00 a.m. Very comfortable beds and free Wi-Fi.

    « Very nice hotel »

Stayed at this motel August 26-28 while visiting Cody, WY, Picked this motel because it is within walking distance of the Buffalo Bill Museum. This is a motel, not a hotel where one drives their vehicle up to their room. The majority of the rooms have been remodeled with the exception of the curtains. The curtains in my room were literally falling apart and was told by maintenance that they would soon be replaced. The rooms are very comfy with queen/king size beds. Even with all the rooms being occupied, the noise level was at a minimum. Numerous visitors from all over stayed at this motel due to its close proximity to Yellowstone and other places to visit. The Cody Rodeo is just down the street from this motel and definitely would recommend a nightly visit to this rodeo. The only drawback I had with this motel was the breakfast situation -- there was no room to even sit down. I suggested turning the living room part into an extended breakfast area as hardly no one sits there. I was told the owner was building a gazebo for people to go outside to sit at and carry their breakfast out there. I even had one of the front desk personnel tell me to carry my food back to my room to eat. Even though it was advertised they would offer waffles, this was not the case. Instead, they had stale cinnamon toast that was very hard to chew. At one time there was a package labeled eggs and bacon and it was a tortilla with eggs/bacon inside. Also at the motel is a laundry room where one can wash/\\dry their clothes. Cost is very minimal about .75 to wash and $1.00 to dry. The motel also offers a hot tub and indoor/outdoor pool. Within walking distance is the Buffalo Bill Museum. There is a trolley ride of Cody where the company will pick you up at the front entrance of the motel to give you an hour's ride and history lesson on Cody. About a mile down the road is a Wal-Mart. If you would like a river float ride, almost next door to Wal-Mart is a river float company that offers a scenic ride down the river -- a must do.

« Decent sized room, overcrowded breakfast area »

The Best Western Sunset Inn was a great place to stay on the night before heading into Yellowstone. We were directed to the Rodeo which we were able to get to after check-in. The pool is great and centrally located. Our room slept 5 which was fantastic since we usually need to find a suite or two rooms which gets to be very expensive. The only drawback was breakfast. Although there was the standard fare, they need to rethink the location of the food and add more tables for people to sit. So many people got fed up with waiting for a table and ended up bringing their food back to their room. Other than breakfast, a good stay.

    « Thanks Best Western »

Pulled into town and all the places had no Vacancy. Good thing we had a reservation. Wait our reservation was for the next day. Oh no......they cancelled our wrong booking and gave us a room! You guys rock. Doesn't look like much from the street but the place has been upgraded and well maintained. We enjoyed the pool and spa. The front desk was very pleasant accommodating . Lovely stay.

« Good place to stay in Cody »

Cody hotels are overpriced, so I decided on this one because it was a little cheaper, still overpriced. The rooms were very nice. Good amount of rooms. Beds comfortable. Very clean. Large bathroom counter. They do have a breakfast, but they need more seating area. People were having to sit in the lobby to eat. They did bring out probably tables for some of those people. We just took our food to our room. Breakfast area was very crowded. The food choices were pretty good. They do have hot foods that most Best Westerns don't have. I am not sure if this nicer breakfast is just a summer thing or not. It is in a good location, near restaurants and not far from the rodeo. Parking is right in front of your room.

    « Great hotel »

after having had a bad hotel in keystone south Dakota this hotel is a Great surprise, clean big room Nice bathroom, firm beds, parking in front of the Room free breakfast so absolute go when you are in Cody Also 200 meters away from the wild west museum

    « Vacation »

This is a nice, clean, friendly hotel. The shaped towels on arrival in the room was a novelty. The room was very spacious. The whole complex had a surprising layout. It is very handy for either north east or east entrances to yellowstone. The northeast probably having the most scenic road in the whole 48 states. Would recommend anyone to stay but be aware that the breakfast is a little bland and lets the whole complex down. We went next door and had a cracking breakfast for as little as $20.

    « 2nd Yellowstone Visit »

We booked our room months in advance, our rate was good. Friendly check-in service. I think the hotel was booked solid that night. The rooms were remodeled since our last visit 2 yrs ago, upgraded hotel signage too. Wi-Fi worked a lot better too. Quiet at night, we slept well. Pool, Laundry facility ... but we didn't use them. Friendly staff when keys returned. Breakfast included is always a nice touch. Not far from Yellowstone's East Entrance.

    « Love it!!! »

We stayed here for 3 nights. Helpful, friendly staff, clean rooms, good breakfast. Would stay again. Hotel set up was awesome, you parked right in front of your room. Kids friendly. Cribs and high chairs available.

    « Great service »

Third stay in this motel and plan on staying here again next year. The room was very fine and the service was good. Breakfast's were very good with a wide variety to choose from. We were especially appreciative of the motorcycle wash facility.

    « Great stay »

This property is wonderful. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. The property was very well taken care of. You had an indoor and outdoor pool, all very clean. The rooms were very clean, comfortable bed, nice lines and towels. The room had an up to date appearance. The electrical plugs were convenient for charging the phones and computers. The breakfast was tasty and food was served warm and plenty to choose from. The motel was convenient to the airport and museum.

    « Cody R&R »

We were well into our USA road trip when we stayed at Cody for two nights. This hotel was lovely for us. We could park right outside the room. Our room was a nice size, indoor and outdoor pool, breakfast was great, we always got a seat and everything was well looked after and clean. We were able to do laundry here in a large laundry room with multiple washers and dryers. A nice restful stay.

« Not sure I would stay there again »

The two clerks that greeted us at the start were not friendly. All other clerks and staff were very friendly. Air conditioner had to be changed out from the beginning. The two queen beds were wore out and were slanted where people had slept on them for so long. It was sleeping on a slant.

    « Motorcycle trip »

I love this kind of set up for a motorcycle trip! Park the bikes right in front of the room, no stairs and they even have a bike wash and supply rags and soap etc! AC, bathrooms were really nice, 2 sinks one in bathroom with shower & 1 outside of bathroom with coffee pot. Outdoor pool and indoor pool/hot tub, laundry & free breakfast. My only complaint was no lotion so i bought some then on day 2 the housekeeper left I think it was just missed. It's not too far too walk to town either. We will stay again if we come through!

    « Beautiful Hotel »

Multiple buildings with Indoor and outdoor pool, playground and laundry room. Grounds very clean and taken care of.Room clean and 2 areas to get ready in morning. Quiet. Dairy Queen next door and restaurant next door you can use voucher for breakfast discount. Didn't try complimentary breakfast due to early rising to sightsee. Front desk very helpful with local attractions and directions. Best Western rewards are adding up.

« Nice motel in busy Cody »

We stayed here two nights which was the end of the bike rally in Sturgis, S. D. This Best Western was full of bikers who were delightful to visit with. Rooms were good and location downtown was excellent. We were in the back of the open court which was quiet. Children enjoyed the outdoor pool; generally the motel was full of happy people. Front desk staff were great. A good stay for visiting the Buffalo Bill Museum.

    « Cody BW »

Sunrise is a Great Hotel in Cody and very well located close to the outstanding Cody Museum as well as all the attractions Cody has to offer. great Staff and outstanding house keeping crew. Would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great hotel.

    « A pleasant day »

We were on a three week trip of WY.we stopped in this hotel on July 4th.We were greated by a wonderful local small town parade which we enjoyed very much. The hotel was fine. The breakfast room is too small for the amunt of people there that day so we had to take our food back to our room. Not a Problem. The rooms could use some updating bu were adequate for us. The pool was clean and inviting. The restaurant next door that seems to be connected in some way was fine for dinner. We stayed only one night as Yellowstone was beckoning . But it was a nice stay.

    « Bike trip »

Great Hotel. Clean updated and well run. The property is immaculate. The housecleaning staff did a fabulous job and the breakfast staff took good care of us. Front desk staff answered all are questions and requests. This is a great place to stay when traveling in and around Cody. we will stay here again.

    « Good value »

We stayed here on our way to Yellowstone national park. Great location and we liked the layout of the hotel: all one level, kind of courtyard style. Breakfast was good, they had burritos you could just take with you if you were in a hurry. Tasted good too. Decent hotel, would stay again if in Cody.

    « Decent motel »

Stayed at this motel for a night. Made the mistake of going to the larger, more modern BW down the street. Didn't realize there were two in town, literally two blocks from each other. The BW Sunset Inn is a single story, multi-building motel with all street access. As it looked from my vantage point at least. The rooms all appeared to have adequate parking, and all off-street. Didn't use the pool or other facilities as we were tired, but they do have both indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, laundry, fitness, etc. We were in the "back" building and were pleased how quiet it was. Room was adequate, however we laughed at the "leprechaun toilet" as it was very "squat" And short. Probably TMI, but funny none-the-less. Breakfast was semi-full with more than continental, but not quite all the fixings. The breakfast room was very crowded when I went in, but I was able to find plenty to eat. Price for the room and everything was reasonable given the time of year. I would probably stay again even with the inconvenience of having to go out into the rain to access any of the facilities.

    « Cody Experience »

I have shied away from BW properties as I felt they had dropped down in what they had to offer. This experience in Cody, WY. proved me wrong and I need to look more closely to them in the future. When I have stayed at BW in the past, if it wasn't a Plus or better I would pass - this was the exception. They were in the process of upgrading their property and I am sure they will be at least a Plus. They seemed really glad I was staying with them and very helpful in offering advise and travel hints.

    « Way vacation »

The hotel was located at the end of town, but well within walking distance to restaurants and a beautiful park. The room was a little dated but worth the price for what we paid . There were a few mosquitos in the room at night. The grounds were well maintained and the pool looked nice. The breakfast offered a lot of choices and luckily had breakfast burritos to take with you, the sitting area was very small and crowded . I would stay here again.

    « Spend Sunset Here »

The Sunset inn in Cody is the perfect place to stop if you are on your way to Yellowstone or just hanging out in Cody. It is a typical Motor Inn (one story with rooms that open up to the parking lot). The rooms were fairly large and the bed was comfortable. If you have a room at the front of the hotel (as we did) there is some occasional noise from the street. The continental breakfast had many items to choose from and coffee was very good.

    « Surprisingly Wonderful »

Staff are tops. Great recommendations. The breakfast burritos are a hit. The pool and jacuzzi were very nice. While the hotel may have been built in the 60's, it is impeccably maintained. Our stay was brief but very satisfying.

« This is what I imagined a motor lodge was... »

Stayed here as part of cross country trip. This is a gem. Room 228, seemed recently renovated, spacious and had really useful space for family travel. Two sinks, one in bathroom, one out, good space for luggage. They were packed with travelers and with bikers going to Sturgis, but staff was friendly, helpful and gave good local food recommendations. Stopped here on they way to Yellowstone, glad we did. Kids loved the indoor and outdoor pools.

    « very nice »

Nice little motel in the American West where the car is parked in front of the door. Clean room with bathroom. A bit small for 2 adults and 2 teenagers with suitcases. Breakfast OK. The dining room is small. Possibility of breakfast in room or is s beautiful outside on tables in the lawn. Outdoor pool. Relatively high prices (period of July 4 with big event of rodeo). Very friendly.

    « A great spot to stay! »

We stayed for 2 nights whilst we were in Cody. We were pleasantly surprised by the rooms. We had 2 rooms next to each other and they were both huge and well equipped with Dvd player too which was handy. Really clean and renovated. The staff were really helpful and friendly at check in and gave us lots of local info. It's well placed to visit all that Cody has to offer. The only reason we have it 4 rather than 5 stars is down to the breakfast area. Although the breakfast ( free, included with room!) was lovely, the area to eat it in was tiny and got very crowded with some guests eating in the lobby too. I would recommend any friends to stay here and would defiantly stay here if we were in the area again.

    « Close to Yellowstone »

This hotel was okay. We decided to check in a day early which they were helpful since we had to change rooms for the 2nd night. It is an old hotel but seems to have been updated some. Price was a little expensive but then this is a tourist town in the summer.

    « From Yellowstone »

Looks older from outside, but updated and beautiful! We had a nice stay in Cody after a long day at Yellowstone. We were pleasantly surprised by the updated room and beautiful indoor lighted pool! In the morning we had an amazing breakfast with French toast sticks and BACON!! My 5 and 7 year old daughters were happy! We had a small issue with Trip Advisor/the payment to the hotel, but they contacted Trip Advisor directly and corrected it without issue.

    « Very nice accomadations »

We stayed for 3 nights so had a good "feel" for the hotel. The room was very nice. The breakfast bar had a variety of items to choose from and there were different items each day. It was close to the downtown area so it was not far to drive to what we wanted to do. They had an indoor and outdoor pool, plus a hottub. I also used their laundry room to wash some clothes and it had several washers and dryers to use.

    « Visit to Yellowstone »

We had stay here everytime we visit Cody and have not been disappointed. The last visit was 10 years ago and it was everything that I remember. Clean spacious rooms, breakfast, pools both indoor and outdoor, laundry facilities. I like the fact that there is a sink in the bathroom and one outside the bathroom. Makes for a family getting ready easy. Would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to the Cody area. The desk staff was very helpful regarding resturants and things to do in the area. The ladies working the breakfast area kept the food stocked and were also very polite. Keep up the great job!

« Best Value of a 14 day West Trip »

Don't overlook this gem due to the exterior and older design. The rooms are clean, modern and recently updated. Easily the best value of an entire two week tour of the west. Rooms had mini fridge, modern showers, separate sink area and WIFI. Guest laundry and nice pool area with guest towels. Through free breakfast on top of that. Easy walk to all of the eateries in town and museums, Dairy Queen 100' away for the evening snack.

« Great amenities for a reasonable price! »

I don't usually write reviews, but I was impressed with this motel. It was reasonably priced for the rodeo season in Cody. The beds were comfortable. It was clean. There is a hot tub, and two pools (one indoor and one outdoor). We had a microwave and small fridge in our room, too. There is a lot to choose from on the complimentary breakfast. Plus there is a decent fitness center and a playground! We will definitely visit again!

« Clean, updated motor inn »

This is an older style drive up motor inn, but rooms have been completely updated and are clean and comfortable. Nice indoor and outdoor pools and hot tub. Breakfast buffet was fine with both hot and cold choices. Close to lots of activities.

    « Great Place »

This place was a delight after the disappointing accommodations in jackson Hole. Rooms were spotless, bright, comfortable with everything you might need. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was included and while not gourmet, was enough for anyone...Would recommend this place and will stay here again when in Cody.

    « A great location for Yellowstone »

A great place to stay. Very clean and a great breakfast. Friendly staff.Does not have a modern look. If your into that stay else where. Very plain and simple but very roomy. Fridge and microwave in room and lots of storage.

« Nicest people at desk ever »

I loved this motel. It is really a motor inn which was perfect, easy access, park right outside the door and no stairs! Every single person we interacted with at this location were the nicest people ever. They were professional, friendly, cheerful and helpful. It is exactly what you are looking for when you are on vacation. The room was nice, not spectacular but you are in Cody! Great location and so convenient to the entrance of Yellowstone. Lots of little conveniences like being able to purchase our Rodeo tickets right at the desk so we didn't have to deal with that at the gate; refrigerator and microwave. They had a pool which we didn't use or even go look at. Some of the rooms looked like they had little patios with table and chairs outside. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. Limited menu of course but all that you need. They had eggs, sausage, awesome biscuits and gravy, coffee and juice and some pastries, oatmeal cereal etc. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

« Great room and pool, terrible breakfast »

The room was updated and huge with a big TV and good AC. Parking is easy right out front. Biggest problem was the loud biker gangs riding past the room at all hours of the night. Kids liked the pool. Real problem was breakfast which is in a tiny space and basically a total joke. We tried to get food and stood behind somebody until they left so we could sit down, but the food was awful and we ended up going elsewhere.

    « Ok hotel »

Average plus hotel. Not much to choose from in Cody, but close to the East entrance of Yellowstone, and good value for the money. Recently remodeled. Quite adequate. Clean & friendly. Good stop for a night or two, and reasonably priced, especially considering that hotels in Yellowstone book almost a year in advance and are pricey, plus they are not remodeled nor updated. Good alternative to lodging inside the park.

    « Complete remodel. »

Large property with both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Nicely kept landscaping. Rooms were great. Tile just inside the door, fridge and microwave that were concealed, nice sized bath with granite and a dressing area with a large counter and cubbies to put your things away in. Felt fresh and new. We were in room 151. Convenient location to the lobby where hot and cold items for breakfast are served. Great coffee, too. The staff did a good job as it was sold out and very busy.

    « Dirty room »

We spent 4 night here, in that time the tile floor was never cleaned (we ended up using a wash cloth to clean the bathroom floor), the carpet between the two beds was filthy and the room smelled like cat urine. when I spoke with the night clerk he didn't act surprised, nor did he indicated that he would pass my concerns to management. I will not return.

    « Clean,Cozy but a Bit Loud »

I really wanted to like this hotel. After six hours behind the wheel, the friendly face and cheerful welcome was just the right way to start my stay. Unfortunately, I missed the fact that all the rooms have external doors, facing out into the parking lot. Since I was traveling alone on a business trip, this made for a less than restful night. listening to cars pulling in and out. The room is clean, clean, clean. Upholstered chairs and round table with coffee maker with selection of Seattle's Best Coffee. Great TV with more channels than you could imagine. Ironing board, steam iron and full length mirror shows that the management cares. Tight bathroom with even smaller shower/tub.

    « stop over »

Was there 27 July . Great people when we checked in . Had places to was the motorcycles . Break fast was great, Just came off the Bearthooth. Heading to Buffalo Wy . Rooms were very clean. Checkout was a breeze.

« Enjoyed BW stay in Cody »

Reasonable price and a clean comfortable room. Location is a bit away from the attractions but also away from the noise and bustle of downtown. We enjoyed the quiet area and the great staff. So friendly and eager to please.

    « Not bad »

Stayed here a week ago, very convenient to the museum. Close to town, friendly staff, decent breakfast. Rooms seemed a little small but the location was worth it. We walked to walmart from there, quite the walk. Cool lil town and they do an old western shootout everyday of summer in town.

    « great hotel »

For the area the price was great. It seems to have more of a motel feel to it from the outside, but inside it's very nicely decorated and more upscale. The breakfast was very nice complete with breakfast burritos, yogurt, etc.

    « Clean and comfortable »

Clean room, comfortable beds, easily accessible, decent breakfast, good price. What more can you ask for? They want more characters but there's nothing else to say. If you're looking for a good place to stay in Cody Wyoming this is a good place.

    « Excellent customer service »

This is an older, single story, park in front of your room type hotel. Rooms were your basic two queen beds with a small desk and chair, plus fridge and tv. Everything was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We had traveled a long way the day before and ended up sleeping in longer than most everyone else at the hotel. Housekeeping was busy cleaning all the rooms when we got up and all the employees greeted us with smiles on their faces. Breakfast is served off of the lobby and has your basic continental breakfast with a few hot items. Two ladies were in charge of cleaning the room and keeping food stocked, and they did an excellent job. One of my kids spilled a completely full 12oz cup of juice all over the place. The attendant cleaned it up very quickly, while thanking me for my help and assuring me it wasn't necessary. I would absolutely stay here again.

« Very friendly and helpful staff »

The hotel staff were helpful with a communication problem we had back home and went out of their way to help us. They recommended things for us to do while in Cody. Rodeo was great there. Room was clean and breakfast was delicious.

    « Great hotel. »

We decided to leave a day early on our way to Yellowstone and couldn't get an extra night at the hotel I had already booked. After looking on TripAdvisor for other hotels in the area I booked a room at the BW. We were pleasantly surprised! On-line I was skeptical but hotel was better than photos shown, the rooms were newly renovated, large and great. They had an outdoor pool as well as an indoor pool which was great. It is right down the street from the Buffalo Bill Center of the West and very easy walk. We would stay again.

« Clean, spacious, and recommended! »

I have stayed at many a hotel over the years. I generally choose budget friendly options but had to exceed my normal limit to stay here. However, our room felt like a small apartment with a patio doors and patio set right outside (room 209 was ours) Very clean and quiet with updated fixtures and flooring and a sink both in and outside of the bathroom. Yes, the breakfast area is crowded but the hotel does set up tables around the lobby to try to compensate since they are limited on space. I would highly recommend this hotel.

« Highly recommend this hotel »

The staff went out of their way to help us with a communication problem we needed back home and they were very friendly. The front desk recommended things for us to do while we were in Cody, and the rooms were clean and breakfast was delicious with a nice variety to choose from.

    « Great night! »

I think this is day 15 of our annual cross con try motorcycle ride. So far this hotel is at the top of the list. We enjoyed the convenient location. The room was very comfortable and clean. It was also convenient to park the bike outside the door. The breakfast was the best so far. You can tell the staff work hard. We will stay here again. Travel safe...

« First Trip to Yellowstone »

We picked a Best Western because of past pleasant experience with the chain. It was chosen sight unseen with no prior knowledge of the area. We were more than pleased with our choice as it was central to everything, the facilities were exceptional and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. If we pass that way again, we'd stay again.

« Great stay for family on an adventure! »

Family of 4 stayed here 4 nights on a 9 night road trip... Hotel easy to find and was close to everything in town! A 1 hour drive to Yellowstone. Room was spacious and comfortable for us - small bathroom, but there was an extra sink / mirror area that helped tons when all 4 of us needed to get ready to leave / for bed. Also, a large built in bench in room helped with all the luggage / clothing storage. Breakfast daily was so good, variety of options, changed daily. Saved us a lot of money not having to go out for breakfast 4 days. Fridge and microwave came in handy too! On site laundry room was reasonably priced, centrally located on the hotel 'campus' and was super clean! This was so helpful for us in packing less and taking a little time to do a couple loads to get us back home in clean clothes! Indoor pool & hot tub was really nice, a little small, but clean and nice! Kids really enjoyed it. All staff we encountered were happy, helpful and prompt. Always smiling! Everything was absolutely wonderful here. Loved our stay!!

« Great stop on way to Yellowstone »

Inn has comfortably renovated was clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was typical of this chain but a welcome bite to eat before leaving town. Easy walk to Dairy Queen for a late night dessert. Staff very helpful and friendly...answered questions and sold us tickets to rodeo that evening. Would definitely stay again.

« Should have stayed another night. »

Booked the room on the road the day before with the TripAdviosor app, it was very simple. When we arrived all the "paperwork" was ready and waiting. The front desk staff was cheerful and helpful. The room was better than expected, large, clean with a western motiff. The mattress on the bed great, both my wife and I liked it and that is hard to do. We didn't have any problems with the wifi as others have said. The complementry breakfast had the fruit and yogurt my wife wanted and the biscuits and gravy that I perfer. All in all I wished we stayed another night.

    « Fun in Cody »

The hotel staff goes above and beyond to help the guests. The breakfast staff eager to help and kept everything stocked. Location was convenient to Yellowstone National Park. Also the places around Cody were easy to get to.

    « Should've camped instead... »

This is a motel not a hotel. The entry is not through a hallway, thus a motel. It looks newly renovated so The inside is okay enough but I am not impressed especially for the price. The fitness center is very subpar. The room also has a bit of an odd smell. I usually love Best Westerns for the cleanness and friendly staff- which this had but with a motel feel. I am sad I booked here instead of camping this night.

« They could do better!! »

WiFi was an extremely frustrating issue that was corrected by your IT finally performing a full reboot after 3-1/2 hours of looking elsewhere for an answer. Door keys become an issue as they also needed Bridget to correct after having them rekeyed 2 times and Chris having to meet us with the pass key which also did not function until Bridget "blew the dust out of unit". Breakfast was inadequate both in food quantity and space for people to sit.

  • 3
« Just OK and Overpriced »

A typical Best Western hotel. Old, in need of remodeling, loud and ineffective wall-mount air conditioners, (some) nice staff, barely passable breakfast, etc. and they charge $165 a night. Not our favorite stop on this trip. Granted, it's Cody in the summer, but they really need to update the facilities.

    « Lovely quiet spot »

We stayed here two nights and the room was extremely comfortable and quiet. The arrangement of the towel into a dog , complete with sunglasses, was a nice surprise. Our room rate covered a breakfast but the room was so cramped and crowded that we declined this. I think they need to make other arrangements or not bother. To show how quiet the spot was, when we left our room one morning there were deer outside. A lovely surprise.

« Cross country motorcycle ride »

We traveled cross country with our friends by motorcycle. We made our reservations way in advanced. They were ready for us and the rooms were great! Very clean great laundry area. Fantastic continetal breakfast. Love the soap and shampoo container in the shower. Very convenient. Easy in and out with motorcycles. Place. To return when traveling through cody

« It is shortly to great... »

Well-kept hotel, nice and clean. Enjoy a privileged location next to the exit direction of the Cody Yellowstone Park. Staff were helpful and kind. Offer breakfast a bit poor. Unfortunately during my stay the outdoor pool was unusable, but I honestly, do not know how many will use it. Good positioning of the various building with rooms. Really recommended.

« Perfect family reunion spot! »

Fourteen of my family members met for three days over the 4th of July, and we couldn't have chosen a better place than the Sunset. Some of the family brought their dogs, and the "dog rooms" were of course an extra charge and separated from the rest- large with tile floors. All the rooms are a little outdated but clean and well organized. The breakfast was very nice, the staff wonderfully friendly and helpful. The very best thing for us was that there was a large grassy area with picnic tables where the dogs could play and we could meet. If we didn't know where someone was, we all knew to meet at the tables! It made a big difference to our family get-together for us to have a place to congregate. I loved parking right outside the room. The motel is very well located, and we walked to the Museum and downtown. The Inn was not fancy, but for the price was an excellent choice for us! Did I mention the great pools and hot tub?

« Best Western Sunset Inn, Cody, Wyoming »

This was the best hotel room we had on our trip in June. The room was pleasant, comfortable, clean, well equipped and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and I had the best nights sleep of our trip here. The electrical outlets were plentiful, a nice surprise compared to many hotels. The television was a good size and worked well and the internet service provided by the hotel was easy to use and quick. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it highly to others. The complimentary breakfast was good but the flow of the dining are was not easy for a number of people.

    « Lovely Stay »

This was our third time to Cody, Wy. and the Best Western. It was the first time in a two bedroom suite. We were delighted that the suite had two bathrooms. Two thumbs up for the designer. The beds were comfy and the fridge nice for storing cokes. Breakfast was standard but adequate. We like the area restaurants and having a Walmart close by for restocking for our long trips. There are two pools and a hot tub. The grounds are lovely and a playground for the little ones. I would recommend this hotel for a family. Cody is a lovely town with lots of adventures.

« Out Dated but Very Clean »

The Best Western rooms were a little outdated but they were big and had plenty of space. Our room had a nice tv, microwave, and comfortable beds. The inside and outside pools were very nice and the hot tub too. The hotel offers a free continental breakfast. This an area that they can improve. The breakfast was decent but the area was way to small for the number of guests they had. It was crowded and hard to get a plate. They also need to update their appearance. The hotel is probably .25 mile from the Buffalo Bill Museum. Overall, I would stay there again.

    « Amazing stay! »

We stayed here July 3&4. The room setup was incredible!!! We found the housekeeping staff to be so friendly & cleans the rooms spotless. Even something to give an extra smile. I will post a photo. The breakfast was great! Breakfast area needs to be larger. Will definitely recommend to friends traveling out there! Janet Adams

    « Pretty decent place »

Overall good clean rooms, helpful staff, and decently priced compared to others. I would recommend to others if they are coming to Cody. Breakfast could be better but it wasnt too shabby. Most places where twice as much when we checked and we felt we got a good bang for our buck

« Surprised at Nice Room »

Checking in, I thought oh an old motel room.To my delight, the room was like a brand new room and totally refurbished. I loved parking in front of the room. East to load and unload. The restaurant next door...poor food.

    « Good family value »

For $153 the grandkids and I got the usual kind of 2-queen room with good beds and everything neat and functional. But there is also a great pool with a hot tub and showers and a roomy, thoughtfully furnished laundry room with a big sorting table and cleverly designed carts. They really thought about what a family needs and wants. No meat offerings at breakfast - my only gripe, because it was a nice experience overall.

    « Very old »

The room was very small and crowded. The bathroom was way too tiny. The bathtub was half the size of a normal one. All the rooms have an outside door instead of off a hallway. The breakfast area is too small for that size of a motel. The carpet was filthy. When you walked barefoot your feet got filthy.

« Great room for the price »

In any resort town, the hotels/motels can charge an arm and a leg and sometimes for the most nominal of rooms. This place has a number of room choices and at great value and they have a very passable breakfast.

    « Good location »

Perfect for our family on our way through to Yellowstone. The only concern was the breakfast buffet was subpar and crowded, coffee was lukewarm. The Rooms are clean and great front desk staff! Close to the museum and other stores and attractions.

« Comfortable, Friendly Motel in Cody »

Sunset Inn has been in Cody for a long time, but it's extremely clean and tidy. Our room was enormous and everything worked as it should. Very quiet. And close to the Buffalo Bill Museum. At breakfast, it was crowded with families enjoying themselves. A nice clientele of travelers to Cody.

    « Excellent »

After a long drive we were pleasantly surprised by a very nice room, great pool, wonderful staff, and guest laundry services. Wonderful place! And to top it off a cute little elephant made of wash cloths awaiting our arrival. Highly recommended

« Great place to stay in Cody »

Super location and within walking distance to the Buffalo Bill Museum complex. Refreshing pool and great breakfast in the morning. Quiet place, with clean rooms, convenient laundry facilities and comfortable beds. We mostly stay in Best Westerns when we're on our summer road trips, and this was a good one!

    « cody »

this is the best hotel we stayed at on our 14 day trip cross country. The rooms were fantastic!! We felt we could vacation here for 2 weeks and afford it and enjoy it. The pools (2) and hot tub were perfect!! Would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling. Thank you

    « Outstanding Staff & Hotel »

The property is wonderful, with very clean rooms along with a large laundry room on site. Rooms are very large, and the breakfasts offered great variety. We really enjoyed the breakfast tortillas with eggs, bacon, and cheese. Staff worked with me on moving up my reservation a day early with only a few hours of notice. The price remained the same. Would definitely stay here again if traveling in the area down the road.

« Excellent choice for a stay in Cody Wy »

Excellent stay. Rooms are clean and spacious. Bathrooms are recently remodeled and spacious. Quiet stay without the usual noise of surrounding neighbors. Provided many options for breakfast, hot and cold items available.

    « Nice, comfortable motel »

This was a very nice, comfortable motel within walking distance of the excellent Buffalo Bill museum. Very good accommodations and one of the cleanest rooms we have ever stayed in. Kudos to the cleaning staff for an excellent job! The motel has a complimentary breakfast, but they also offer a discounted breakfast at the very nice restaurant next door, also named the Sunset.

« Average hotel. Good Location »

Large, old style motel on the main route to Yellowstone NP. Rooms were average size and modestly clean. The breakfast buffet was varied and good. Adjacent to the Buffalo Bill Museum and numerous restaurants.

« High cost low aminities »

Our room was very small. Bath tub was half sized. Outside light shined into bathroom all night long. Just not the quality of a Best Western we are use to. Easy check in and out. Friendly staff. Coffee maker broke and so no coffee for breakfast. The omelet at breakfast was like a rubber omelet. Lower quality for a higher price. We were on a 3 week road trip staying in Best Westerns and this one just did not match up to BW standards.

    « Wyoming trip - June 16, 2016 »

Very clean rooms and comfortable beds - helpful staff - left laundry area open for us after hours - nice breakfast (eggs, bacon, cereal, juice, etc) - small pool - could not find fitness room (small?) - motel with nice grounds- convenient location

« Great location, comfortable stay »

Very close to Yellowstone. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was excellent. Good value for the area. Staff was very helpful. Large TV and comfortable bed. Always prefer first floor when traveling.

    « Great Stay »

Wonderful stay at Best Western Cody WY. A tad pricey, but was the last room available so well worth the cost. Comfortable beds but would like a "less fluffy" pillow. Breakfast was very good with many different choices.

    « Cody lodging »

A really nice place that was very clean and a manicured appearance. Staff were very professional and helpful. Great location and breakfast which varied daily. I checked out ratings previously and concur with the high ratings.

« Comfortable, spacious, clean rooms! »

We stayed here after a long day at Yellowstone, it was so nice to have a King size comfortable bed and room to relax in! Parking space was right outside our window so we could keep a eye on our truck. Will recommend this hotel to family and friends.

    « Comfort stay »

    - Comfort stay after long drive - Located just in front of Yellowstone National Park East Entrance - Close to stores to prepare some food - on my stay, there was road construction in front of hotel. not much bothered

    « Spacious Rooms »

We overnighted at the Sunset Inn on a recent Western vacation. We were impressed with the size of the rooms and the quality of the furniture. The breakfast service is inadequate for the # of rooms and # of guests during peak season. At $150 we thought the facility was slightly overpriced; by at least $20. Overall it was a good stay.

    « Clean/Neat-convenient to Devils Tower »

Clean/neat motel--convenient to Devils Tower. Only stayed one night in June 2016. Rooms were clean. Staff was cordial and helpful. Breakfast was normal fare--relatively small dining area. If traveling to Devils Tower--would recommend this facility.

« Tiny room, Huge price »

This is a 1960's motel which has been updated in decor but not in size. At half the cost it would be okay, but at $185 rack, $166 discounted it is way over priced. I think the charges are made "because they can". Are you familiar with the term "lipstick on a pig"?

« Very Clean and Well Appointed »

This property was a welcome site after traveling on a road trip for the past few months. The rooms are very large and have two sink areas so the coffee can be brewed outside the bathroom...yay! Large television and plenty of places to lounge in the room. Refrigerator in the room was great for all our beverages and perishables. I was nicely refreshed as we headed to Yellowstone.

« Good stay for a busy vacation stop »

Comparing prices for Cody, I chose the Sunset Inn over the deluxe Best Western across the road. This place was just slightly above average. The outdoor pool was closed, but the indoor pool, hot tub, playground area and laundry facilities were huge pluses. Rooms were nice, beds comfortable, staff was incredibly helpful- which was nice because we had quite a few issues for a 2 night stay. Our lock would not open. After 5 sets of keys (which meant 4 trips to the office from our rooms at the rear of the area after long days driving and hiking), maintainance replaced the locking mechanism and we had no more issues. Our 2nd room had a nasty wad of hair left in the bathroom from the previous stay. They did discount the room - for that 1st night only. The included breakfast was sufficient, but so crowded it was almost not worth attempting. The room is too small with no where near enough seating for the amount of people attempting to eat at one time. You could barely move without bumping into someone. I would stay there again because they were helpful in dealing with the issues we encountered.

    « Love it!! »

This is a great place. I wish I could pick it up and move it to our next 2 stops. The pool and hot tub were great. The beds were great. Very comfortable. Patios out of the back doors for each room. Bathroom and room were clean. Breakfast was great. It was super busy because of a tour bus there, but we never noticed and they were well prepared for breakfast for everyone. Great personnel too.

    « Great choice »

Very nice hotel. Don't be turned off by the drive up rooms. Big rooms. Comfy beds. Great showers. Convenient to everything. We stayed in room 209. Very helpful front desk. Bought rodeo tickets from them. They were helpful with everything. Our room had a patio off the back.

    « Impressed »

When driving by you would probably not stop but you will be pleasantly surprised if you do. The hotel is updated and very clean. There is an indoor pool, a stainless steel hot tub, a work out room, a restaurant next door, a large laundry room, and lots of grass. Rooms are well furnished with sinks separate from the bathroom. A comfortable place to stay going to or coming from Yellowstone.

« Fantastic place to stay - don't let the outside fool you »

From the parking lot, this looks like a well kept but basic old-style motel. Several long, single story buildings of drive-up rooms like you'd picture from a 50's road trip. But step inside and it's a modern, very well maintained facility, appears recently remodeled. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. A great feature is a 3-part bathroom - There's a sink outside the door, go through the door to another sink, and through another door to the stool and shower. So 2-3 people could all be getting ready or using the bathroom at once in privacy. Also, while some have the sink outside the main bathroom, if you are up earlier or later than others that still doesn't work - this has one you can go into separately and not bother anyone. Plus, as examples of how it's maintained - there were two people doing yard work, another sweeping and vacuuming the parking lot, and FIVE cleaning the workout and pool area - VERY thoroughly. Last couple cool things, parking stalls are extra wide, so even if a slob parks next to you, there's 6-8 feet between you and he won't ding up your car when he unloads. And, while most motels provide a single, miniature washer and dryer, this one has six full size washers, and eight dryers. Outstanding facility, and top on my list to stay at next time I'm in town. Oh, and while it cost a little more than a lot of best westerns, it was very reasonable for a tourist town like this in summer.

    « Vacation »

What a very quaint place. Reminded us of the past motor inns. Excellent staff and service. They have a large stainless steel hot tub and it was wonderful. Towels were nearly placed for us to use. Rooms were spacious and decor good. Bathroom had double sinks. I would love to stay there again on my next visit. The breakfasts were tasty, different things offered daily. I will recommend this place to anyone without hesitation.

« Better than rated by AAA »

Told the room might be small when making reservation, but since there were only the two of us and since we only would be there one night we decided to stay there. Wow we were really surprised by the beautiful room decor and the size was fine. The staff were very helpful. The laundry, ice, and pool were a short walk. We would definitely stay there again and it was really close to the Buffalo Bill museum.

    « Motor Inn Hotel »

Traveling from Seattle and not knowing the area of Cody you never know what to expect. It's a different kind of place where all the individual rooms are in a row. They are very comfortable and roomy. Lots of folks staying for one night and then moving on to another town of interest. Breakfast was wonderful and we had some very interesting conversations with folks from all over the U.S.

« Super Clean and Nice »

This was a great motel! I was a little unsure of how Priceline would work out in selecting a good motel, but this Best Western was great! Super clean, quiet, and it looked to be newly renovated. I would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend!

    « Nice and clean »

A very nice, clean, large hotel room. The breakfast was acceptable, although they have very limited eating space for such a large hotel. The grounds are well maintained, the indoor pool and hot tub were both clean and nice. I think $135 a night plus taxes was expensive..

    « Pricey for a BW Property »

This hotel is undergoing a complete remodeling, so the rooms are nice, and the location is good. The breakfast is so-so, even for the 'free' breakfast offered at other BW properties. We experienced a few issues (hot water, loose handles) that could be expected with newly remodeled rooms, that were quickly fixed by staff.

    « Nice stay »

Ended up staying at this hotel for 3 nights while in Cody, Wy. Our room was large, clean and very suitable for handicap needs. Grounds and ammenities were great, large heated pool and hot tub. Quiet, convenient location to all Cody has to offer. Breakfast with all the usual hot and cold items, at times seemed a little dry and over microwaved? Internet worked well. Lobby warm and friendly for meeting with friends.

« We loved this place »

I enjoyed this place! The little grass yards in front of all the little buildings were great! I liked the place! I loved the rooms and the yards! I would stay here again next year when I come back to Yellowstone!!

    « Pleasantly surprised »

This BW Property has recently been renovated and the pet friendly rooms transitioned to tile floors instead of carpets, getting rid of the toxic chemicals left in the carpets after cleaning and the possibility of fleas. The rooms are beautifully decorated and delightfully fresh and clean. They also are a single level property with lots of lawns and pet friendly spaces and parking in front of your room

    « Very nice »

Went to this hotel due to a business trip. Staff was very kind and helpful. I absolutely loved the room and the property itself was gorgeous! The rate wasn't the greatest, but that's a Best Western for you I guess. The rooms was gorgeous, and well put together! Would probably stay again if the rates weren't so high. But good stay over all!

« Overpaid for what we got »

1 week before the opening of Yellowstone East Gate = low season in our book. Rates were high season even though the town & region was dead for tourist. Breakfast was promptly removed at 8:30 am, ridiculous for a weekend and in a vacation - gateway location. The room was clean & spacious and the grounds for the expansive hotel were quite nice. The restaurant next door was convenient for walking over to. Mattress was too soft and gave me a sore back.

« Better to do walk in that loyalty program »

Don't book online. walk in customers get the best rates. Don't ever think this hotel values loyalty! While aged, the hotel is in very good repair and other than only getting warm (not hot) water in the shower we enjoyed the stay. Just a bit irritated that I was charged 20% more for my stay than a walk in customer when the hotel was mostly empty AND I am a diamond member of their loyalty program! The hotel is nice and not sure if BW or the hotel is responsible for the pricing/policy...but certainly don't feel valued!

« Only if there is nothing else available »

Stayed here for 2 days. Everywhere else was booked, the rate was outrageous for what kind of room we had it was pretty basic, when I went down for breakfast there was no hot breakfast left and it was before 9. My kids ate but said it was disgusting. I could hear the people getting up next to me at 5am, paper this walls. I was told the out door pool was running but when I got there it wasnt. Everyone tellsyou something different everything. Keep going down the street to the Ivy. I heard it was and will have to try that place next time.

    « Nice »

I stayed here for a few weeks while working. It was great. Many amenities including indoor and outdoor pool, hot tub, laundry, snack machines. The free breakfast is pretty nice too. Everyone I dealt with there was very friendly and helpful. I actually ended up staying in two different rooms and they were both very up to date, clean, quiet, and comfortable. It's also very convenient to Cody attractions. I would stay there again.

I was traveling by myself on a 8 day , nine state trip. This was night number 5 after a long day at Yellowstone park. My room was recently remodeled. It was cozy, comfortable & rustic looking. I felt very safe there. Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay there again!

« Perfectly fine for our needs - clean and comfortable »

Hi, We are an Aussie family of 4 with two kids aged 13 and 14. We stayed for one night in September. We were in an older style motel room where you park right outside the door. Room was very clean and comfortable. Reception staff were friendly and very helpful. Nice pool area - indoor and outdoor. We didn't use - mainly as we didn't have a lot of down time here. We arrived from Yellowstone (via Beartooth Hwy) and arrived in the early afternoon. Basically checked in and went to the Buffalo Bill museum and the Cody College Rodeo. Great breakfast the next morning and then left for South Dakota. Very happy with our stay here. Walking distance to the museum, short drive to Rodeo and Walmart etc.

    « Good Location »

This is an old single floor, exterior entry motel which has been remodeled. The parking area is newly refinished and it is convenient to park right at your door. Staff very nice and the exterior grounds are well kept. Interior has been updated and it is a larger room. The room was very clean. Air conditioning unit was not the quietest in the world, but it did shield any potential outside noise. Breakfast was just OK and the sitting area is rather small for the size of motel. As has been mentioned by other reviewers, it is close to the Buffalo Bill Center. The price is out of line, as are the other hotels in the area who take advantage of tourists headed to and from Yellowstone.

« Close to downtown Cody »

There are two Best Western properties in Cody; this one is the Sunset. It was a very convenient place for one night as we traveled to Yellowstone National Park. The room was expansive, quiet and clean with good beds. The breakfast area was packed in the morning as everyone there was up and about. Good basic breakfast to start your day.

« Great stay in Cody »

The hotel has really clean rooms at a reasonable price. The office staff was friendly and very helpful. The hotel is just a short walk to the Buffalo Bill Center. There is absolutely No Smoking allowed in any of the rooms. I would stay here again if I ever return to Cody. You can walk to the downtown area from this hotel.

« Great place to stay »

Hotel is near the Buffalo Bill Museum. This is an older hotel but it is clean and well kept. I loved the wide parking spaces and you can park in front of your room. Staff was very nice in allowing us to change rooms so we were not so close to the main street. The only criticism is the breakfast area needs to be bigger. It is fairly small considering the number of rooms at this hotel so you have to wait to get a seat or take the food back to your room.

« Nice place to stay if you have a pet »

This is a very nice and clean motel with a good staff. Room 173 Nice size good bed and shower. Close to several restaurants They have a fine pool and the exercise room is just ok. Great place to walk. The town is not far to walk. We enjoyed the location.
