"Central but quiet"
Getting accomodation that enables one to get a good nights sleep can be an issue, it definitely was not the case here. No 4:30am rubbish collection !! The room was comfortable and clean, there was enough stuff in the kitchenette for us to prepare our own breakfasts and lunches. Having secure off street parking was great although for large vehicles it takes a bit of manoeuvring as there isn't a lot of space.
"Good stay, location close to the airport"
Accommodation is close to the airport, to the centre 15 min drive by car. There is also public transport. Renovated rooms, but lacked the bed side electrical plugs. Good stay for couple of nights, parking is available.
On arrival I was concerned about parking as the motel is on a very busy road. However there is a 10 minute drop off spot right out the front and free secure parking in the building. I was greeted by a friendly helpful receptionist who went out of her way to be helpful. The room was such a surprise - modern, clean and well appointed with a lovely bathroom. At the price and in the location I wasn't expecting a high standard. It was perfect for us the night before having to be at the airport at 4.30 the next morning. We decided to eat at the attached pub. Service (including friendly customers) was friendly and welcoming. However, all the seating was tall barstools and I could not sit. We decided to order our very reasonably priced food as takeaway and took it up to our room. The meals were well priced, well cooked and generous. Check out was very straight forward as we left before reception was open and just had to put our keys in a lock box.
"GREAT PLACE YO STAY!! TOP LOCATION"
We stayed here in August and loved it, staff and especially management were so helpful nothing was a problem. The rooms are clean and of good size real value for money. Location is really good for eating, their are dozens of restaurants just a short walk supermarket across the road, close to the air port and inner city major shopping mall just down the road (Riccarton Mall) perfect place to stay. We will be going back. Kevan and Veta Tucker
"Rather unattractive hotel"
The entrance and reception area of this hotel are very unassuming and strange. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was spotless and of good size. However we had a small outside area off our room and couldn't unlock the door to go out there. It had high walls and no view in any case but there were two chairs out there. The garage parking was accessed by a back alley full of rubbish bins and the area around the hotel was a bit seedy. Definitely not an attractive hotel but was close to the airport and suited our purposes of catching an early flight out of Christchurch.
"Great room, friendly service"
I stayed here on a work trip recently and was greeted by the owner on arrival. He was really friendly, had a genuine warmth about him and couldn't do more to help. My room looked very modern and was really clean. The bed was comfortable, the shower had great pressure, and everything worked as it should. I would definitely stay again
"clean and comfortable room"
Here the receptionist is good. Smile everyone. Unlimited internet. Clean room. Bedsheets, pillowcases, blankets are clean. Everything in the room is very comfortable. I've been everywhere in CHC. Here is the most comfortable. There is a parking lot too.
"Kind and helpful Manager"
Inspite of my unscheduled arrival at 6am, the manager was very kind to get out of bed to let me into the hotel. He was even happy to arrange a room for me for a small fee so that I could rest after my long flight.
"Lovely but just too noisey"
Really nice hotel clean room with plenty of space, perfect for a family of 3 but our room was overlooking the busy road that didn't stop all night and we just go no sleep. It would be worth asking for a quieter room.
This Hotel has the most Amazing Management and Staff I found they gave exceptional service and went out of their way to make my stay comfortable.I have stayed many times and every time has been the same.I would highly recommend this hotel
"Great service and amenities"
I stayed at this hotel during a short business trip for 5 days - friendly staff and amenities, including laundry made me feel at home. Was able to use restaurants close by for meals all within walking distance. Free car parking was bonus.
"Could have been excellent"
Staff - excellent. Room - excellent. Cleanliness and cleaning staff - excellent. Combined beer bar entrance area smelly, dirty, cigarette butts and navigating drunken idiots at the door area. Laundry or generator running during the late hours not good. Walls and soundproofing not too good - can hear other occupants. With the staff and rooms you have this could have been excellent, but the other stuff makes this an average stay - ok for a stopover, not a business or holiday location
Exceeded our expectations. Very quiet and lovely modern rooms. Will definitely stay again!! Only thing we found hard was the parking, the underground area is extremely tight. The one bedroom apartments are great for kids too
"All around ease"
We had initially booked to stay but due to Covid-19 had to cancel. We emailed the manager to explain what was happening and that we would be down as soon as able - the manager was great - she accommodated us quickly and transferred our booking to suit our travel dates. That made the trip hassle free knowing all was ok. The hotel is located about 4km from the CBD but if you're up for a walk then going through Hagley park is a must, otherwise Uber were plentiful an no difficulty finding the hotel. The hotel is exactly how you see as advertised, our room was generous - it had a small balcony with seating; all coffee/tea facilities, clean and tidy bathroom and relatively quiet considering it was on a main road.
