Stayed for the 3rd straight year for a fall trip. Very impressed with all staff interactions being good, diligent efforts to keep the property clean and well maintained. Breakfast is good, location is good, internet works well.

The Best Western Chincoteague Island is one of the, if not the best, hotels we have ever stayed. It is very clean and offers a great breakfast. The staff is amazing and very friendly. I would suggest this as a place to stay when visiting Chincoteague or Assateague Island. Convenient to everything! We will be back!

Stayed here for one night, but because of some delays we arrived late and had to leave early so we couldn't really use all the hotel facilities. The room we got though were nice and so were the service, so really nothing to fault here. Hope to be able to visit Chincoteague at a later point, and we'll definitely consider Best Western again if doing so.

As always this was a great trip for us visiting the island and staying here.This hotel has the best staff who we look forward to seeing and catching up with. Clean rooms, pretty grounds, breakfast daily , and plenty of peace and quiet, best view of the assateague Lighthouse, this is our 17th year staying here and we would not think about staying anywhere else on the island. I have stayed here 3 times before and have had a good experience ever time. Everyone is friendly and helpful, There are few places to eat fairly close. Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, on Assateague Island, is just down the road and is a great place to see. I will stay there anytime in the area.

My husband and I travel to Chincoteague a few times a year for quick weekends. We typically stay in a hotel across the street, however it was fully booked and thought it was worth trying out other options. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The location is great, right near the entrance to Assateague state park. We stayed in room 234, which had a king size bed and a balcony. The bed was comfortable, however we could hear the people in the room above us walking around until 3:30 in the morning. Sounded like they were stomping back and forth across the room. It kept us up through the night. I could also hear conversations through the walls. The hotel also offers a free breakfast until 9:30 and had an outdoor pool, which was still open in Sept.

Very clean room and friendly staff.Good breakfast with many choices. Walked into the national refuge from the hotel— it's right there! Also you can rent bikes right across the street from the hotel and ride into the park. There is a $10 per vehicle fee to get into the park , but free if you walk or bike in. Excellent tacos at Pico Taqueria and Lily's Little Mexico!!!

The upkeep of this hotel is wonderful. Every area is clean. Room was amazing, public areas very nice. Employees always speak. When we check in, the person that checked us in was very helpful about places to go. Also spoke with Dennis several times and he was very pleasant.

Upon Check in, Female that was at desk was very helpful, my husband had questions about fishing and she was very knowledgeable on places to go. Told us everything we needed to know. Also, spoke with Dennis several times and he also was helpful and very pleasant.

This was our first trip to Chincoteague Island. The Best Western is a great location close to the national park and town. Lots of places to eat nearby. The hotel, pool and grounds are very clean and well cared for. Breakfast was good.The staff is friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning.

I've been coming to this hotel for over 20 years, but this is the first time since Covid restricted our traveling. I'm glad to see that it is still the same friendly, helpful place that it has always been. The grounds are lovely, with more outdoor seating than before. The rooms are spotless as always. The location, on a marsh just before the entrance to the park is always great. We stayed two nights and will be back soon.

We stayed at the Chinconteague location. Perfect location, closed to everything. My girls loved the pool, the balcony and the breakfast. The room was clean, the staff very friendly. It met our expectations

Very well maintained. This is always my first choice on the island. Beds are quite comfortable. Slept well. Close to the beach. Breakfast is good. Keurig, m wave and small fridge in the rooms. Staff is helpful.

Would definitely recommend staying here. Staff was helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable. Wide variety of breakfast foods. Big pool. No complaints. We will be staying there when we go back.

Have come hear quite a few times over the years. As far back as when it was the Driftwood Inn and things are always great. Spacious spotless rooms. Excellent staff that is always smiling and friendly.. Full communications. A hot breakfast.

We loved our stay at the BW Chincoteague. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, they served a hot breakfast, and the hotel's location was within walking/biking distance to everything.

Nice hotel in a good location. Helpful and very friendly staff. The hotel and staff accommodated all our needs during a week long stay. I would recommend it as it is very good value for a nice room.. Parking was easy, getting in and out as well with no problem, walkable to restaurants and other services.

We stayed at BW for our stay at chincoteague and enjoyed it very much. Hotel super clean, staff was great and the breakfast was excellent. We will definitely return next year. Happy with experience!!!

We loved our stay. The staff was polite and accommodating. The room was spacious and clean . Breakfast was good with hot and cold options. The area was kept clean and stocked. We had a room on the Third floor with a balcony. It faced the pool and could be noisy with kids, but it quieted down by 9. My kids enjoyed the pool daily so the noise didn't bother me since it was just the sounds of fun summer nights. Every activity was close by . The beach was a 5 minute drive. A relaxing and enjoyable stay

We had an enjoyable visit. Clean hotel, nice selection with their continental breakfast. Washer and Dryer on site available to use(bring change). Employees are courteous and helpful with questions. Enjoyed the outdoor pool several times.

The hotel is CLEAN, updated and great for families (adjoining rooms, pool with large shallow area and lots of seating, rooms fairly soundproof). Breakfast always includes something for everyone, even picky eaters, and is open at 6 am (which is great for those wanting to get an early start to their day - like birders). The hotel is located right next to the bridge to the beach, and often affords great views of shorebirds and marsh wildlife, and the lighthouse. The best thing about this hotel is the staff; they are genuinely happy to see you, always greet you and often ask if you need anything or how your visit is going. They are locals, and are very knowledgeable about the restaurants, attractions, and directions. One of the front desk staff this year is a Chincoteague volunteer fireman and saltwater cowboy. On the first evening of the CVFD carnival, we found him operating kiddie rides and showing the little ones a great time! I highly recommend the Best Western; you will be glad you stayed there.

We had third floor East. The marsh and lighthouse views were lovely. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The only thing to be remedied is covid related. There was no room service. We went to the desk for clean tiles, emptied our own trash. After 5 days the room really needed vacuuming and a real deep clean..

Wonderful location! Super friendly staff! The room was comfortable and quite large with a view of Assateague Lighthouse from our balcony. We also watched two turtles lay their eggs near the flower beds from the balcony. Bonus. We rented bikes across the street and pedaled to Assateague National Park and around town. (Bring the mosquito spray.) The breakfast was very nice, but the staff was the best part, so friendly, and they kept everything replenished including the awesome coffee. Can't wait to return next time.

We stayed in the 2 room suite and really enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching wildlife toward the lighthouse. Arrived early, allowed us to go ahead and check in and rest a bit before heading out to work.

A top-notch experience, the staff was cordial and knowledgeable. The property was clean and well-maintained. Keep in mind this is an older hotel and the rooms may not look as fancy as newer hotels but still well-kept. I will absolutely stay at this hotel again!

Great location, very good service. The room was clean, not enough towels/ sanitaries. This is our favorite hotel in Chinquitique. Every summer/autumn we stay here. Every room has a view. Plenty of parking spaces.

Excellent staff, room, hot complimentary breakfast and overall great experience! We're already talking about our next visit. Kudos to Dennis and Bryce who were knowledgeable, friendly and always available.

Stayed at this hotel over Memorial Day weekend. We love the location just over the pedestrian/ bike bridge to Asseteague. Hotel is an older hotel that has been updated nicely, spacious updated rooms and baths, comfortable CLEAN, comfortable, and safe. Breakfast was very good with hot items. Customer service was beyond excellent Tiffany and Harold at the from desk are gems! We have stayed at the Hampton in town before, but much prefer this location and will return due to excellent customer experience!!!

Excellent location at the entrance of Assateague refuge. We were able to bike to the beach and save the refuge entrance fees. Room, pool and outdoor common area were all very clean and inviting. Breakfast included a waffle station and hot items.

I very much appreciate the proximity of the hotel to the wildlife refuge and there is a marsh next door where rails and other cool birds are. The hotel is reliably friendly, clean and well maintained. My room on the second floor was a good size and had a microwave, fridge, and a balcony (I think all rooms have a balcony or patio?). I would greatly appreciate the hotel adopting native landscaping practices especially given the proximity of the hotel to the refuge, and to stop using red-dyed mulch, and have let them know. The hotel is not doing in-room housekeeping at this time (garbage pick-up and towel service are available), and I preferred this approach.

We had a lovely experience at the Best Western Chincoteague in May for a wedding. The staff is incredibly caring and friendly, and the hotel was located right near the entrance to Assateague Beach. The room we stayed in was large and comfortable. The balcony was excellent and we loved the Adirondack chairs and table. Definitely will stay again.

Staff was friendly and welcoming; hotel was clean; beds were comfortable; breakfast was yummy. We also appreciate the ice water and coffee being available. Though it was too cold for us to take a dip, the pool/firepit area looked beautiful.

Our room was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The staff were incredible. The surroundings were relaxing. We will definitely be back to visit. The island is the perfect place to get back to nature and just breathe.

This Best Western location was perfect for my husband and me. When I first decided on this hotel, my husband was not on the same page, saying it was away from the middle of town, but when we arrived and saw the location, he was delighted!!! We wanted to visit the Chincoteague National Refuge and Assateague Island, and we could not have been closer!!! Right outside our door and a few steps away, I could walk to see the beautiful birds we came to photograph, and the ponies were just past the entrance!! The room was bright, cheerful, and spotless! Outside our patio door was the pool, peaceful and pleasant. It was not open yet, but that did not bother us; the weather was chilly!! Right next door was the Chincoteague Museum! We would definitely stay here, again. I only wish the coffee was available later in the afternoon, like it was in the BW at Virginia Beach...I was spoiled!

We love coming to this island and this is our favorite place to stay here. The hotel staff are always friendly and professional. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is wonderfully prepared. You will find a great value here.

We stayed in the Best Western for four nights and five days. The staff was friendly and very friendly. It was close to the park. The room was clean and very comfortable and we did not hear any street noice in the room.

This was the cleanest hotel room I've stayed in all year including resorts. Very friendly and helpful staff. They wanted to make sure that everything was right. I forgot some items in the closet. They called me and are sending me the clothing and jewelry that was left behind.

This was our first time at this Best Western. Christa at the front desk and her staff our absolutely the best. Rooms are clean and spacious, there is always tea and coffee available. The breakfasts were excellent. The heated outside seating area was an added bonus, nice place to hang out with friends, read a book, have a glass of wine. We will be going back. If there was more than a 5 star rating I would give it to them.

Nicely renovated older motel. Has an elevator. Some rooms have outside access, but you access upper floors through the lobby. We had a King with Balcony, but there is not much of a view. The motel itself was very quiet and very, very clean (no odor at all including that awful cloying air freshener that old motels use to cover up smells). The shower had good water pressure but the bar soap wouldn't lather very much (body wash works just fine). The bed was comfortable and the room was quite large for a motel.

We found the staff beyond helpful and caring. They were ready with tips and recommendations about the area. The hotel was clean and rooms are large and comfy. The location to the park can't be beat. The breakfast was perfect.

Very clean. Reasonably priced. Good, hot breakfast. Friendly staff and helpful with suggestions of places to eat and things to do. Assateague Island is just across the bridge. Close to attractions and restaurants. Highly recommend. We went during the off season(April) and not a ton of places were open.

Hubs and I stayed at the Best Western Chincoteague Island this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the informed and inviting check-in, to our well-appointed and clean room, lovely view towards Assateague Island, and a delicious breakfast, our stay was perfect. We'll definitely return to enjoy the charm of the Best Western Chincoteague Island.

Friendly staff, very well maintained facility. Quiet. Our room had two sinks, which we appreciated. Next to museum, walking distance to good birding from the boardwalk. Wished we could have stayed longer

great place to stay very close to Island, was ablew to watch sunset by just walkig few mins and drive to island wasminutes away I will recomend this to anyone wanting to visit Island and drive to see wild ponys

We were so impressed by the beauty, cleanliness, professional and courteous staff. We enjoyed the comforts of this Best Western, after 8 hours on the road, it could not have been better. Clean, plus high quality all around!!!! Highly recommended. Thank you to all who work at Best Western on the Island!!

We Love staying here!!! We have never had a bad experience. Everyone is always very friendly and helpful. Rooms are always relaxing and comfortable. Breakfast never disappoints. Close to everything you could want to do!

This hotel is the closest to the bridge into the wildlife area. You can see the lighthouse from your balcony. The Papa John suite was perfect for our family of 5! The tub is also large enough that a pregnant mama can enjoy. The breakfasts were both good, some items rotate so it isn't the same every morning. Staff is helpful and friendly. Public facilities are clean. We will absolutely come back when we are a family of 6!

I've been here a few times since my 2016 review. It is still a nice, quiet place and still the closest motel to Assateague Island. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The staff seems to really want to help if you have any special requests.

Wonderful, small hotel closest to the refuge in Chincoteague. Staff is incredibly friendly and works hard to honor room requests, hotel is extremely well maintained and clean. I've been coming here for 30 years. I'm a Marriott platinum lifetime member but always stay at the BW in Chincoteague when I come.

We had such a great stay at the Best Western CI! Clean, convenient, and cozy, I really wanted to stay longer! Complimentary breakfast was delicious and we felt very relaxed and at ease. Couldn't ask for a better getaway experience!

This Best Western on Chincoteague Island is consistently excellent. Friendly and professional staff. Clean rooms and lobby area. Friendly and professional breakfast attendant, this hotel is in a very convenient location on the island and is always very well run.

My sister, daughter and I spent a Friday night at this hotel. The weather was beautiful so we sat by the outdoor firepit and had some drinks. We were joined by several other guests and had a great time. The rooms are very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was good. Before we left, we booked another stay for next spring. I love it when the entire hotel is kept clean and neat and all the employees are very pleasant and helpful. This will definitely be our go to hotel when we visit Virginia's East Coast.

Nice Place to stay. Single bed room nicely decorated, warn and comfortable. Staff was nice!! Chincoteague Island and Ocean is within walking or biking distance so if you are a naturalist , then this a place for you. Free parking and free hot breakfast was an added bebefit !!!

Have stayed here many times. Always consistently friendly staff, comfortable beds, clean room, and great breakfast and located close to the Wildlife Preserve this is our go to place to stay. Only regret is no water view from first floor rooms.

This was the second dime this year we stayed at Chincoteaque Best Western Hotel. The location, the service, the staff are wonderful. The hotel has some kind of aura that allows an absolute relax. Will be returning to this location often. Thank you Chincoteaque Best Western! Krista at the concierge desk is wonderful. She makes you feel at home.

Despite not being sure we received the military discount we enjoyed out stay. Walking distance to everything it seems. Wonderful breakfast, fresh coffee any time of the day. Enjoyed sitting in the "lounge" area just chatting with our friends. Night time clerk was great and full of recommendations for meals and things to do. Pillows were too soft.. Wish we could of stayed longer.

We have been staying at this family-owned facility in Chincoteague for 30 years. The rooms are always sparkling and the beds are so very comfortable. They do offer a great breakfast. I found the staff was very helpful and friendly. They gave many honest restaurant reviews. On some evenings there is live music in the lovely new outside patio area. I feel this is the nicest place to stay on the island. It's quiet, away from the hub-bub of the main drag and right at the entrance to Assatteague State Park!

The hotel was clean and beautifully decorated. The fresh, hot breakfast each morning was wonderful. Staff was fantastic and knowledgeable. A very nice patio and fire pit area with plenty of seating. All non-smoking rooms (but there is a sitting area with ashtrays nearby).

The staff was rude and they changed the rates at check-out. I could not disagree more with other reviews. I would highly recommend confirming your rate before your stay and or stay at Refugee Inn, Hampton Inn, or Fairfield Inn Marriott. All are better managed with nicer staff and rooms.

Hi Thomas! I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. I am sorry your stay with us this past weekend was not to your liking. My staff works very hard to ensure each guest has a wonderful time and seeing your comment that they are rude and dishonest hurts. The rate you booked was our government military for one person at the GSA per diem rate for our area. The key item in that statement is one person occupancy. When you arrived with two person occupancy, my staff informed you the one person occupancy did not apply but they would happily provide you with a 15% discount. This was not a problem until you checked out. Once again I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay due to the change in booking rate. We appreciate your business and are quite happy you will continue to visit our island home. Whether you decide to stay with us or one of the other wonderful establishments on our island we will continue to wish you the very best and thank you for your service to our country.

Everyone was so nice and helpful - beds were comfy and room was spotless. Breakfast was good, although they didn't have plain oatmeal. I had the waffles instead and they were great. Pool looked really nice. Would go back for sure.

We only stayed 1 night - but our experience from start to finish was excellent. I requested a ground floor room - but that request did not come through the booking system. The desk clerk was able to make a few adjustments and give us a ground floor room, while putting no one out. We found the room to be clean, spacious, and well appointed. The beds were comfortable, and the shower and WIFI worked great. The breakfast the next morning was the best hotel breakfast I have had in some time. All the staff we encountered from front desk staff, the cleaning staff, and the breakfast attended all took the time to ask about how we were enjoying our stay and if there was anything they could do. I have to say that the culture of guest service was excellent! I highly recommend this property. It has been a while since I stayed at a Best Western. After our experience here - I am looking forward to trying other properties in the Brand.

Friendly staff and very clean. The staff was helpful. The breakfast was great with a dining area where you can eat indoors or out on the patio. The pool was very well maintained and there is a little fire put outside the front of the hotel

Took my Mom to Chincoteague for the first time and the Best Western was the only property available for our trip. We were greeted by genuinely friendly staff. The hotel appears freshly renovated and even had a small exercise room. Our room was also newly renovated and gets double bonus points from me for having a sink inside the toilet area and another sink outside the toilet area. We enjoyed the outside shaded seating area and really, really enjoyed our balcony where we watched people going to the wildlife refuge. There was even live music one night. So great! All the staff were friendly and helpful. Laundry was affordable and worked properly. BW is now my #1 choice for Chincoteague!

One of the best vacation spots. Great hotel and wonderful staff! Hotel is close to the National Park and beach. The beach is great. You can park close to the beach Many shells are on the beach and I add to my collection every year. And driving to the beach see all the wonders of nature. The ponies are grazing in the meadow and the cranes are perched on logs in the water People are seen crabbing .But the best sight on the island is the light house. We could see it from our hotel balcony. It is a magical island without flying out of the country.

Excellent stay! Staff and room were great! A must stay place for Chincoteague. You can see the lighthouse, close proximity to the park and the walk ability is good. The outdoor pool was even open for our stay in mid-September. We really appreciated that since it was very warm (high 80s).

Once again, we return from a wonderful week on Chincoteague and Assateague Islands. Our stay at Best Western Chincoteague , was as always the best. It's so comforting , quiet , and just peaceful. I have the perfect view of the lighthouse from our room, to sit at night and watch. This hotel has the best staff, we come every year to stay here, we look forward to seeing everyone , and catching up, We just enjoyed everything here about our stay and being on the islands. If you want the best service in a place to stay, this is where you should be.

Awesome hotel with an awesome staff. Love being able to see lighthouse from our deck and at this stay we were treated to a rocket launch. This stay was our 50th wedding anniversary and upon arrival we found roses and champagne in our room. They always make us feel like family.

Spent Labor Day weekend with family to visit Assateague wildlife preserve. Best Western provides an additional enjoyable experience with all the amenities anyone would need as close to the island as possible.

We enjoyed our stay at this Best Western. The personnel and accommodations were more than I expected. The front desk was very friendly, and always asked us how our room was when we passed by. The only slight problem was that housekeeping won't service the room during your stay. You have to place your trash outside the door in the morning, and if you want fresh towels you have to go to the front desk. No big deal for us since we keep things tidy. We highly recommend this location due to it's close proximity to the park and nearby fare, as well as the friendly people!

This hotel exceeded all expectations. It is located very near the entrance to Assateague Island and is a beautiful property in itself. Very clean and very well maintained and landscaped. The full breakfast exceeded expectations also. Great staff and owners. Definitely will be back.

The staff during our stay were awesome! (Hi Gary!) My room was nice and clean. Having a refrigerator made things super nice. Our room had a super cute and comfortable balcony. The location on the island was perfect. The hot breakfast was excellent and varied daily! Had a wonderful stay, I would highly recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat!

Great experience staying at this hotel. Staff was super friendly & helpful. It is located at a great spot, minutes from the Wildlife Refuge & Beach, as well as many of the Restaurants & Shops. Right next to the Museum. Perfect if you plan to bike, can leave the hotel ride over the bridge to Wildlife Refuge to enjoy many of the riding trails. Highly recommend. Will stay there when we go back again.

Visited this hotel for one night. Everyone was so friendly, easy check in and out. The room was exceptionally clean and spacious. The bed was super comfortable. We arrived late so we didn't use a pool. The lady who checked us in was very informative and helpful.

Staying here made our vacation. First, the staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. You just don't find this anymore anywhere. The hotel and rooms were immaculate. Our room could not have been any cleaner. Things you normally don't notice...many garbage cans throughout the property that are always empty. Everything is perfectly tended to. There was someone actually wiping down the metal hand railing on the outside staircase. All the rooms have a sliding glass door with a balcony that has a table and chairs where you can enjoy the view of the marsh, leading to the beach. The room had two bathroom sinks, a very nice shower and great lightening. The internet at times was a bit slow, but nothing serious, as I think the whole island has this issue. The breakfast was really good and again, in a very clean area. The pool was so pretty and the landscaping is beautiful. There is an area outside between the front door and pool with tables where you can sit, as well as a covered outdoor area with couches and a fire pit. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. The staff and their attention to the smallest detail have really made it what it is. From the cheerful and friendly maintenance men, to the cleaning staff, to the kind breakfast ladies, to the front desk people...thanks for a great vacation!

This hotel is at the edge of town next to tidal marshes with great scenery, view of the lighthouse and wildlife. The room was large and comfortable with breakfast provided and a nice pool to lounge at. The staff was pleasant and courteous.

Rooms are very clean, the staff more than willing to help with whatever your concern is. The amneties are really nice...Love the pool, sitting areas outside. Just overall an excellent experience. And it's right by entrance to park!!

Great place to stay! A value for the money! The staff and owner were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good—tons of choices and fresh! (And a lot better than waiting in a huge carline across at the McDonald's). Location is the best location for getting to the beach. It is also walk-able to stores, bars, restaurants and activities along Maddox Blvd. I would highly recommend!

We stayed in a comfortable room on the 1st floor. Nice to have microwave, refrigerator, and table in the room. The hotel grounds are gorgeously landscaped. We enjoyed pool time and took advantage of the outdoor tables for breakfast, snacks, and games. Breakfast was good but would have liked some fresh fruit rather than canned. Only negative note is that noise carries quite a bit between the rooms— sometimes sounded like the ponies from the Reserve were running around in the room above us.

The best & closest location for the wildlife refuge & beach. We stayed in a beautiful king suite with queen sleeper (not very comfortable). The room & bathroom were spotless. Breakfast was delicious (homemade eggs!!, maple cinnamon waffles!!) and fresh. The lady working there was constantly replenishing food, cleaning and was pleasant to talk to. We did not use the pool, but it looked beautiful. When we return to Chincoteague (and we will) this is going to be our place to stay.

We just spent 4 days at Chincoteague Island , Virginia with my daughter, her husband , their year old baby, and my husband. When I asked my daughter where she wanted to go for a long weekend, she said “Chincoteague !” This is where we spent many family vacations when she was little and she wanted to start making memories with her little family. Best Western is our hotel of choice on the island. We have stayed in other hotels, but none compare. The rooms are spacious snd clean, the grounds are immaculate, the staff is friendly and helpful, from the front desk to housekeeping to lady in breakfast area. There are numerous outside tables and chairs to expand the seating. We enjoyed our hot breakfast every morning. And did I mention location? Perfect! Closest hotel to the beach, and an easy walk to shops snd restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, and can't wait to come again

We were only in town for 1 night / 1 day en route to a basketball tournament, breaking up a really long drive. We chose this hotel because it is the closest to the nature preserve and the location did not disappoint! The hotel lobby, outdoor pool area, and our guest room were immaculately clean, but what truly stood out to me is how incredibly warm and friendly the staff were. Never have I felt more welcome checking into a hotel! This feeling continued during our stay, in encounters with other staff who answered our questions and granted requests as if we were old friends. I have never experienced such genuine hospitality in a hotel setting. PS We rented bikes to see the wild ponies but couldn't get close enough to see much. If you only have a day and want to see the ponies I'd try booking one of the boat cruises, I think they get much closer. Wish we'd done that!

Wonderful service. They had our rooms ready before the original time. The staff made sure we had everything we needed. Our room key did not work when we got up, but they were happy to provide us with new keys. Our views were spectactular.

The Best western Chincoteague is my go to every time. The rooms are always spotless and the staff has no comparison. Everybody is super friendly and attentive from the people at the front desk the housekeepers the maintenance man and even the guy cleaning the pool. It's conveniently located at the entrance to Assateague and has a great view of the reserve from any room. You want find a hotel with the same value for that low of a price on the island!

We had an amazing stay! Beth provided AMAZING customer service - friendly and helpful beyond expectations. The whole family had a great time, and it was super close to the beach. Thanks to Beth and the entire staff for making our stay memorable. Definitely recommend!

My family and I picked Chincoteague Island for it's family-friendly shore vibes and for its proximity to the famous wild horses that live on Assateague Island, which is just a 5-minute drive away from the Best Western Hotel parking lot. In fact, this hotel is conveniently located right in between the Main Street packed full of nearby Chincoteague Island tours/attractions and the bridge that connects visitors to the entrance of the Assateague Island Sanctuary. Here travelers will find beach access, bike trails through the wetlands, and the beautiful Assateague Lighthouse. When booking our first hotel stay over the phone with Beth, I was delighted to work with a staff member who offered extra accommodations for a family traveling with an infant. Not to mention clearly setting expectations on the hotel's policy on social distancing, since our stay would occur during the tail-end of the pandemic, was a personable experience and showed a refreshing sense of mindfulness and attention to wellness. Upon arrival, the hostesses Tiffany and Arrington, welcomed us with a warm greeting and excellent customer service. This hospitality extended to a phone call to our room shortly after checking-in to make sure we had settled in comfortably. The lobby, pool, and all other common areas were spotless and well furnished. Another plus was the ample parking spaces near our room door which made unloading the car a breeze. Moreover, the lobby at the Best Western is staffed 24/7 and their hot buffet breakfast menu is packed full of a variety of self-serve options in a clean dining hall. The Extra Mile: During our brief visit on the Island, my family experienced a minor medical emergency related to a pre-existing condition, but Tiffany and Arrington were both calm, responsive, and professional. These lovely women generously extended timely personal attention to guests who were on a vacation 4+ hours from home. This included, offering additional care and consideration into the late evening hours. For this sensibility, my family is beyond grateful and most touched by our experience with every member of the hotel staff—-a rare gem these days. We will continue to stay at the Best Western on Chincoteague Island whenever we are in town and will recommend that our friends and family stay there, too.

The front desk personnel were amazing. The room was very clean. We enjoyed the pool and it was clean as well. The woman who ran the breakfast was extremely pleasant and very helpful. Enjoyed seeing her in the morning. Breakfast was good as well. Thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay here. Would definitely recommend.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. The pool area is clean and very relaxing. The rooms were also very clean , and comfortable. Location is great as it's right next to assateague entrance and still close to shops.

Located close to the Chincoteague Island beach entrance. The room was very cute and extremely clean. There is a decent sized pool which was clean. The price was kind of high but it was also 4th of July weekend so that was expected. Would definitely stay at this location again.

In one word: Exceptional! Great location. Great staff: warm and gracious--made me feel like I have been going there for years. Quality building, interior is clean, elegant, and inviting. Attention to details no missing or skimping on amenities--elegantly simple. For me this is as good as it gets when away from home. Thank you staff, management, and owners!

The location is very close to the beach. The pool and grounds are beautiful. The hotel is clean with comfortable beds. They have fresh coffee always available and offer a great continental breakfast. Best of all their staff is helpful and friendly.

My son and I have been going to Chincoteague for 5 years now and the Best Western is by far our favorite hotel to stay at. Super friendly staff and it's always clean. It's also right next to the wildlife refuge and it is just super extra relaxing there. I love hanging out on the balcony to relax and enjoy the laid back peaceful vibes of the area. We love it! Great breakfasts too!

The place was Beautiful and well kept. The staff was so friendly. Our beds were very comfortable and the rooms were spacious. We were there with a family crowd of 15 spread out between 4 rooms. We loved the common space we could all meet and enjoy each others company. We would absolutely stay there again!

Wonderful hotel! The staff was incredibly attentive and helpful. Live music Saturday night was fun and a nice way to kick off our vacation. Hot self serve breakfast was varied and plentiful. Outdoor pool was open, clean and refreshing after a day of sight seeing. Great location at the entrance to causeway to the beach. Prime viewing location for launch from Wallops Island. Only down side was the mosquitos, but hey your in a marshy area.

My husband and I have stayed at many Best Westerns and this was one of the finest. When we arrived we received a map of the island, and a list of restaurants. The room was poolside, very clean and nice, the patio overlooked the grassy area to the pool. So relaxing! The landscaping was nicely done. Outdoors there were many tables and chairs to enjoy the wonderful weather. The pool had patio tables and lounging chairs, too. The close proximatety to the National Park was extremely helpful! A person can drive to the National Park but must park their car and walk before 3:00 pm. After 3:00 pm cars can be driven. Many people rode bikes to beach, but we walked. It is a long walk to the beach, but when you arrive the beach is beautiful. We walked the 3 1/2 mile loop. I would suggest bringing bug spray in the summer for The National Park. The breakfast was hot and delicious! The staff and hotel was one of the best!

I booked the room for 2 nights, but had to change reservation to just one night, and even though they had a policy for 2 day minimum for weekend, they excepted my cancellation without any problems. Very nice staff, friendly and helpful. Very nice large room, and exceptionally clean.

The check-in woman couldn't have been nicer. She gave us lists of all the restaurants, their addresses and phone numbers and what days they were open. When I asked about the elevator because of a bad back, she switched us to a first floor room with a patio. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Overall, it was a terrific place to stay.

This is the closest motel to the bridge to the refuge and beach. Bike rentals across the street. The room was very clean, roomy with balcony. Breakfast was very complete including hot and cold items. All staff was friendly and helpful.

We very seldom stay at Best Western hotels but chose this one quite a few years ago because of the closeness to the beach. We have been utilizing this property now for close to ten years. The staff is consistently helpful and kind. The pool is very nice for kids (and adults). Over the years they have added to their outside space which now includes a covered area with patio heater and a gas fire pit. We are often traveling to the area with extended family and enjoy having rooms next to each other and often connecting when possible. The extra outside spaces make it very nice to be able to sit and visit with large groups. The staff here is well trained and attentive. A few years ago, a member of the house keeping staff overheard us talking about our daughter's 3rd birthday which was the next day. When we returned home from the beach the following day, there were flowers and a balloon there from the hotel to celebrate. Our rooms have always been clean and the beds are comfortable. Maintenance responds quickly and kindly to any situation (4 kids--think plugged toilets and locked bathrooms:-)).

Warning to BW rewards members. You're not anything special here and BW perks don't apply. I stayed 9 nights (Platinum member) and was charged $75 extra for checking out late, even though I called the front desk twice and prior to normal checkout time. I was given various excuses like “it's automatic, the system does it” and “we don't have the housekeeping staff that can stay to clean for a late checkout”, etc. Then I was told “now we can't even let anyone have your room today because it can't be cleaned, so we're losing money”. The last two were straight up lies, since I had just spoken to the housekeeping person before she was headed to my room. And she still had others to clean as well. I have stayed at many BW over the years and never run into this before. I left my room as good as it was when I arrived. They only had to change sheets on one queen bed, vacuum a clean floor, put out new towels, and whatever Covid measures are necessary. I also had to put up with a shower that kept alternating between hot and cold extremes, as well as thin walls that let me hear the couple next door talking non-stop until 1 a.m. So to any BW rewards members, go somewhere else. I was a scout for some family and friends who hadn't been to Chincoteague before. My advice to them is Chincoteague is great. The BW here is not. Go somewhere else and you'll enjoy your stay more.

On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. This past year has been very stressful. My staff has worked extremely hard to keep our team and guests safe. The losses due to COVID19 required many changes. From check-in routines to cleaning guidelines to personal safety and loss, each day seemed to bring a new challenge. We are so glad our world is reopening. We are thrilled to see many of our long time guests and many new friends coming to visit. The visitors mean our family business can continue; we can still provide our staff the means to support their own families. For that we are grateful. I am sorry you feel you did not receive what you expected. With COVID19 we have worked very hard to provide all we can to our guests. We opened our pool and found a means to serve a full hot breakfast when many other hotels did not. With the pandemic causing staff shortages, to provide the best service possible to our guests we can only allow a noon checkout at the latest. I am sorry this was a problem. My housekeeping staff would never share with a guest if their actions were causing added work or stress but that does not mean the very late check-out time did not cause added stress. My hotel is only one part of our wonderful Best Western family of hotels. I am sure you will discover many other fantastic properties that may be able to allow delayed check-outs to better suit your schedule. We appreciate the extended time you spent with us on Chincoteague scouting the area for your family. During the many nights you spent with us, I am sorry we weren't given the opportunity to address your issues regarding noise and water temperature. We have spent over forty years providing a home away from home on our little island. We enjoy getting to meet and visit with guests from all over the world. It is a very rare occurence when we fail to meet a guest's expectations. Once again I am truly sorry we did not meet yours but hope you will continue your relationship with Best Western. We all are doing our best to provide each guest the best experience possible.

This hotel was clean, staff were very helpful and the location was perfect. This was a first time we had traveled overnight since COVID and we needed a special place to be able to explore and then relax in comfort. Best Western was the perfect place.

Everything was wonderful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely pleasant. The pool was nice. I wish there was more than 1 fire pit only because the older crowd claimed it both nights so we didn't get to enjoy that. The breakfast better than I imagined. There was a bit of everything. It was very clean. I couldn't be happier with the trip!

All of the staff at this hotel get KUDOS for being super helpful and accommodating!!! We were there for a family wedding with a large group who did not all get up on time for the breakfast hours but the hotel staff graciously extended breakfast without complaining or being grumpy. The front desk staff when above and beyond to be helpful. Our keys wouldn't work so they came upstairs with us to let us in and made us new keys before we came back down. The room was a little dated but clean and everything worked perfectly. We will stay here again!!!

We stayed here for two nights and loved the location right next to the bridge taking you to Assateague. The staff is most attentive and warm and it seemed like each person with whom we interacted, genuinely enjoyed caring for guests and anticipating needs. Our bed was very comfortable and a generous number of great pillows made us forget we had left ours at home. The hotel is very clean. Breakfast included all the standard options and there are two inviting outside areas complete with space heater/fire pit to enjoy that breakfast. Our room was small and the bathroom was especially small and showing its age, though again, it was squeaky clean! We recommend the hotel wholeheartedly. We also recommend you book with them directly to avoid misinformation from third party sites.

We have been staying here for 16 years this September. We love this place, staff is the best, we enjoy seeing and catching up with everyone when we come for a stay. Pretty grounds, and pool area. Quiet and beautiful view of Assateague Lighthouse, day and night. We wouldn't stay anywhere else on the island.

Great service. Great rooms. Great breakfast. Middle of the Covid masks not needed but all were respectful and if some wore, all ok. Very clean for breakfast still had masks, and gloves as we processed thru with our plates.

I chose the Best Western Chincoteague Island because I planned a multi-day visit to the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. This hotel turned out to be a perfect choice. Located at the entrance of the refuge, the hotel was also not far from dining, shopping, bike and moped rentals. The museum next door was also a nice introduction to island history.

Great property close to reserve. The facility was well kept. Room was very clean and beds comfortable. The staff was friendly, informed and accommodating. Assured all our needs were fully met. Breakfast was hot, had pretty good assortment to select from and attendant kept all items stocked and maintained clean area. Would definitely stay here again.

I've passed the Best Western many times over the years (it's right near the bridge to Assateague). Couldn't ask for a better location. Service was great. All personnel were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good too.

We appreciated being within biking distance of Assateague, their beautifully landscaped outdoor areas, and the fact that their swimming pool was fully operational so early into spring. Can't say enough great things about their staff.

Best Western Chincoteague Island is a great place to stay. It's the last hotel before you cross the bridge to Assateague. There are excellent views of the lighthouse and it's a very quiet area. Very relaxing. They also have a full breakfast and you can serve yourself or someone will serve you.

Since we are still in a pandemic I bought my own cleaning supplies. Didn't need to use many of them. The room was very clean. Walking distance to restaurants,quiet environment ,great staff,friendly atmosphere

Clean rooms with a lot of amenities. Bright and cheerful. Friendly staff, especially front desk. Breakfast was the usual hotel buffet, but it was well stocked and hot. Free coffee in the lobby was great.

Like many people, we did not travel last year, and we were really happy and excited to come back to Best Western on Chincoteague Island, VA. I can't say enough about the wonderful people they have working there, I always feel like Im going back to see some old friends. Warm, friendly, helpful.... and our room is always sparkling clean! We made some special requests, nothing complicated, but every one of them was met with a smile! I just love visiting here, and this will always be my first choice for a hotel on Chincoteague. Don't hesitate to book here if you are looking for a place to stay. They made some really nice upgrades too. Some nice covered outdoor seating, and a new fire pit. Oh, and we felt very covid safe there. They provide gloves, for handling any food items at breakfast, and lots of options for seating! Thank you Best Western Chincoteague! Big room, huge bed, right on the main strip and yet closest to the beach. Check in was easy, plenty of parking, comfortable bed. It was an ideal place to stay. My only complaint was the lack of a cancellation policy; you reserved it, paid for it and were stuck with it. But I wasn't going to cancel, so that wasn't a big deal.

My wife and I recently spent two nights at this Best Western hotel on Chincoteague Island. It was the perfect place to stay as we explored Assateague Island Nation Seashore and the surrounding country roads on our bicycles. The hotel is located at the start of the causeway connecting the two islands and has great views of the marsh. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcomed and appreciated guests. Their Covid-19 protocols made us feel very comfortable and they were able to serve a very nice breakfast in a safe environment. Rooms were spacious and very clean. We would definitely recommend the Best Western on Chincoteague Island to our family members and friends.

Best Western Chincoteague was a very pleasant hotel. The room was clean, nicely and comfortably decorated. My flight came in late and after a 2½ hr. drive arrived around 2:30 a.m. Gary, at the front desk was the SWEETEST, kindest man! He gave me a genuine welcome. THANK YOU! The hotel sits across the marshes from the refuge and I walked across. There are also bikes you can rent. Hotel was within easy walking distance from shops and restaurants. The museum is right next door. HIGHLY recommend. Again, THANK YOU Gary!!

I did not know what to expect, I have never stayed at a Best Western before. I was so happy with my stay. The room was pretty, tidy, comfortable and had lots of amenities. The breakfast was excellent. I was 100% happy with my stay.

The woman at the counter was so warm and welcoming! She gave us the recommendations on where to eat and local attractions. I forgot to ask her name but she was working Saturday afternoon on March 27th. We had a nice view of the lighthouse from our balcony. The room was clean and the breakfast was a good deal. Our first time visiting, looking forward to returning and staying at the Best Western. Located minutes away from the wildlife refuge and walking distance to some shops and restaurants.

The Best Western is very conveniently located to the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. Also an excellent breakfast buffet. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Chincoteague.

The stay at best western was great. Close to everything and a great view from our balcony. Clean and the breakfeast even had hot items now. So close to assategue island that we could see the light house. Will stay there again in the future.

We stayed for one night in March 2021. I booked online but will call the hotel direct next time. The check-in went smoothly and the person checking us in was so friendly. The lobby area is well appointed and welcoming. Our room, 240, had two queen beds, mini fridge, bathroom, dressing area, and a balcony with water views. The rooms are so clean. We felt like we were in a brand new suite. Little extras, like a hairdryer and the soap/shampoo was a higher quality than most motels. The complimentary breakfast was amazing (eggs, sausage, belgian waffle, oatmeal, pastries, yogurt, fruit). They have set-up with hand sanitizer and gloves. The coffee was great. The person preparing and servicing the breakfast was friendly and extremely accommodating. Check out was also smooth. I highly recommend this hotel. Honestly, we have stayed at 5-star resorts and this was comparable.

Each visit to this hotel is cozy and comfortable, like staying with family. COVID precautions are taken very seriously, and they don't feel intrusive. Every convenience has been provided, so you can sit back and relax. The local atmosphere, island life, bird calls and pony whinnies envelope you at this unique location.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The rooms were clean and comfy, the staff was very friendly, breakfast was good, and it was in a perfect location. We came to birdwatch at the Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge and it couldn't have been a more convenient spot. Definitely take time to walk the boardwalk and bird the marsh areas right next to the hotel (easy walking distance) by the bridge into the refuge. I've stayed in a lot of hotels in years past, and this was one of my best experiences.

We love staying here - the staff is always so nice. The hotel is clean, the wifi worked great from our room, and they were fantastic about following and enforcing Covid-19 safety protocols. We've been coming here since I was a kid (a LONG time ago), and have stayed at many hotels on the island. They've all been fine, but this particular Best Western feels like we're coming home every time. It's especially convenient if you want to spend time biking on the Refuge - it's right by the bridge, and there is a bike rental shop directly across the street.

Only got to stay one night but the price was right, right next to the museum and close to the National Refugee. Room was very clean. Liked having an extra sink outside of the bathroom. Breakfast seemed like normal except for wearing gloves while serving yourself. Christa at the front desk was extremely welcoming and as good as anyone working in the tourist bureau with tips and information.

This clean, well-appointed property was quite a nice experience. In spite of coved-19, the staff did everything in their power to make the stay a success. We reserved a suite on the top floor for a family group and were pleased with the arrangement. We would stay again. We arrived early, Christa welcomed us & mentioned that she had read an email we had sent. She already had made the requested change in room type & checked us in without a wait. Since this was our first visit to the area, she gave us a list of recommended restaurants. It was nice to also hear some of her personal favorites. She mentioned that a gentleman would be playing some music later that evening. We lucked out by coming in the Fall, the weather was picture perfect. We so enjoyed the guitarist/singer, Ron. He shared personal stories as he played/sang requested songs. Later Scott, the owner, joined him playing the guitar as well. He introduced himself & asked us if there was anything he could do for us. We told him we were very happy with the hotel, etc. We had a wonderful time & will definitely return again since we now feel like we have friends to welcome us. There is also a nice breakfast included which was a nice perk. Another perk was a very nice fire pit that was the perfect foreground for the lovely sunset.

Such a wonderful hotel with an incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The amenities were first rate and the hotel was clean and comfortable. The location is such that you can walk most anywhere you need to go. We especially enjoyed being able to walk to Assateague Island and the views of the marshes from the hotel are fantastic. We have stayed here a few times. We love the convenience to the park because we take our bikes. Rooms are well kept and clean. Staff is friendly and always helpful. Close to restaurants and other things.

We spent a week earlier this month and were a little concerned what it would be like with the pandemic but no need to worry. They are handling everything wonderfully. Even the breakfast buffet. Staff is always friendly and helpful and the pool is gorgeous. We have been staying here for years and the only difference this time was no housekeeping but if we needed anything only had to ask, and masks and gloves at breakfast of course while getting food. We look forward to our next stay!

A quick get away was in order. We booked a two night stay for Sept. 24-26 at the Best Western Chincoteague. It's our favorite place to stay on the island. The hotel is getting back to normal and dealing very well with COVID-19 requirements. That includes the return of a nearly full menu for breakfast. We like the nature at the nearby national wildlife refuge and this hotel is the closest one to the refuge. A well maintained property, friendly staff--what more could you ask for? It's our third visit this year. Don't forget to enjoy supper at Etta's restaurant either.

Our recent stay at Best Western was excellent! The room was spacious, had a balcony that overlooks the marsh land between Chincoteague and Assateague and had a lighthouse view! The hotel was extremely clean and well cared for too! The gas fire pit was a nice touch and the bbq area came in handy!

My wife and I went to Chincoteague and stayed at the Best Western. With precautions staff had taken w covid we felt really safe. Nice rooms, super friendly and helpful staff. We've been going to Chincoteague for a lot of years for a peaceful off-season getaway on the refuge, and we've settled on the best Western as the only place we stay. We love it.

This hotel is the closest to the beach. There is a view of channel water and lighthouse. The pool area is clean and pretty. The fire pit and outdoor covered lounge is a bonus. It is so helpful to have the outdoor shower for rinsing off after a sandy beach day. The rooms and beds are comfortable, clean, and cool. The staff is ALWAYS welcoming and helpful. All rooms open to the outside which is especially good during Coronavirus times. We always stay here. You should too. :)

Let me just start and say no other hotel in our years of traveling has been this outgoing or accommodating! My husband and I don't expect much except a clean room and a reasonable rate. Christa greeted us upon our arrival. We instantly felt welcome once introduced to her wonderful and charming personality. Beth, the hospitality manager, also made us feel welcome, an equally wonderful and charming person. Our upgraded room was superbly clean and comfortable thanks to Serena. The breakfast room kept us charged each morning with hot waffles, eggs, bacon/sausages, and bagels. Kitty kept everything well stocked for everyone. After a day out on the beach or around the island, it was nice to come back to the hotel which very much felt like home to us. To the entire staff, especially Christa, Beth, Serena, and Kitty... Thank you all for being a part of our Chincoteague experience and making our honeymoon memorable. We truly enjoyed our stay and will remember you all when Chincoteague calls us to visit once more. The hotel is by the entrance of the Chincoteague wildlife refuge there the views are beautiful. The room was spacious, clean and had a nice balcony where we enjoyedthe view while havinga coffee.. breakfast was good for the rate and the staff was very pleasant. My only comment is that I saw a cleaning lady walking around without a mask...

Wonderful location. Walk to bridge for sunrise and sunset. Great pool and fire pit. Nice breakfast and super friendly staff. Nice view from balcony and across from mcds and bike rental spot. Lots for families to do and just far enough away from busy shops to relax.

The location of the hotel is the best, right at the entrance of the Chincoteague Park and also on the strip of downtown. Easy access. The hotel has a lot of outside seating options including patio, by the pool, fire pit, etc. We were a group of 5 families and were able to hang out and spread out in the open areas and hang out. The breakfast was elaborate. We will definitely return to this hotel.

We stayed three nights in a King room with vanity, which was a good sized, comfortable room on the 2nd floor. Nice bed and pillows, a good sized fridge, Keurig coffeemaker, microwave, and ample clothing storage and closet. There was a full laundry facility and ice machine across the hall, and outside waste cans are frequently emptied, so you don't have to dispose of take-out containers in your room. This is important because there's no housekeeping due to the virus. The balcony was Ok but always wet and too buggy. Pool was very nice too, and there are several outdoor tables where you can eat. The Breakfast room and the free breakfast offerings were more than adequate, though even with the provided gloves and masks I'm not sure people should be mingling so closely together- I think they may want to limit the number of people at a time. The staff was uniformly helpful and friendly. Because you will have no housekeeping due to the virus I would plan accordingly, and be sure to bring your own beach towels. I would recommend this hotel mainly based on its cleanliness and location, which is right next to the very beautiful marsh that separates Chincoteague from Assateague Island. You are minutes from the lighthouse and beach, there are crabbing and fishing piers within walking distance, and yet you're also close enough to town and the better restaurants. I recommend staying on the third floor overlooking the pool. If your budget allows, book a pony boat tour- well worth it! Also note that bike rentals are across the street- and Chincoteague diner is next door .

GREAT HOTEL. Honestly gorgeous hotel, sparkling clean, rooms were large and very well appointed, huge bathroom with tile. Double sinks so two people can be getting ready. Large refrigerator. Beds were so comfortable and best pillows EVER. Staff was so courteous, welcoming and warm. Hot breakfast started each day off right, we enjoyed the beach and national park, grabbed lunch and returned to the pool area each day to sit and enjoy the lighthouse views. You felt like you were at a small family friendly resort. Well worth the cost, less then several other hotels on the Island and right next to the park for easy beach days. Highly recommend. We are already getting our trip together for next year.

Just returned from another wonderful stay at the Best Western Chincoteague. They had safety measures in place to help keep everyone safe during Covid time. All staff wore masks all the time. Guests were required to wear masks in all public spaces. Masks and gloves were required for breakfast. The room was pristinely clean when we arrived. The staff were great. The pool was especially nice. Other guests were good at social distancing and for the most part wore masks. Our favorite hotel to stay at on the island.

Providing a hot breakfast and keeping the pool open has been very important to us as these are important parts of a guest vacation. We hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and will visit us again.

This Best Western is truly the best location on the island. We had a great view from our pool side balcony overlooking the back channels and lighthouse. Very clean, great room size and the pool is beautiful. Closest point to the ocean. We definitely want to return!

Our room had two super-comfy beds (seriously, where can I buy those pillows?!), balcony, table with 2 chairs, easy chair, flat screen tv, good size fridge with small freezer, microwave, single-serve coffee maker. Everything clean and well maintained. No room cleaning during visit because of current pandemic, but it was easy enough to make our own beds and swap out towels at the front desk if needed. Staff was friendly. Everyone wore masks inside, and threw them on outside if they saw someone heading their way. If you use a roof rack with bicycles, don't drive through the building to the back! We learned that 25 years ago, when we unthinkingly wiped the whole bike rack off the top of our car! Park in front or go around the side.

A great stay at a great place....the room was clean and comfortable, the staff was so friendly and helpful, breakfast good, and the location is perfect. They are ON it relative to COVID, and you would have never known a hurricane had blown through the night and morning before we arrived.

My family and I have been staying here for 5 years. We like the location as it is the closest hotel to the beach area. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be going back here.

Wasn't our first choice, but turned into our best choice. Last minute upgrade to a king suite with balcony was just the start of a relaxed stay. We cancelled reservations at a nearby motel when BW offered a better room with only 3 days notice. Good general Covid precautions in the common areas without going overboard, clean and professional first impression, and a spacious room with a big comfy bed. The pool area was cleaned every morning, and had a tropical feel thanks to the beautiful flowering bushes all around, and the front deck lounge areas were a nice treat for evening coffees in the breeze on hot days. They did a great job of squeezing amenities into the small space available. Breakfast was well-rounded with cereals, bagels, waffles, fresh eggs and meat, even some fruit and yogurts. Friendly staff are accommodating and helpful professionals, and the no-contact issue was managed well. Location was a big plus; They are the last nice hotel before the national island bridge, so it's just steps from the Assateague/Chincoteague boardwalk bikepath from the property. Evening strolls and bike rides away from traffic are a big plus. McD's is across the street (drive thru only), and the small diner next door (closed for now) would have been nice, but for shopping and ice cream you'll need to drive a few blocks North. This was our 4th trip, and BW made it our best one yet.

Our stay at the hotel was great. The front desk staff was super helpful with room selection and restaurant recommendations. The room was clean, and the Internet worked on all our devices at a good speed. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay at the BW in Chincoteague - the location cannot be beat, as you can access the paved bike paths into the wildlife refuge via the parking lot, and you are the closest to the entrance to the park and the beach. We had a third floor king room with balcony on the east side so had a prime view of the marshes and lighthouse. We overlooked the pool, which looked very nice, but we never made it there. The room was really spacious and nice, and you could enter from external stairs on the back to the door, not having to even go into the building. The people who work there were all so super nice and helpful and wore masks, and promoted the proper protocols. For the breakfast and the coffee stand they provided easy to use plastic gloves, which everyone was great about using. Everyone staying there was compliant with masks, which we did not find when we spent our last night at the Hampton. They had outdoor tables that were great for breakfast, or carryout, which we did for lunch and dinner one night. We would definitely stay there again - just loved it.

Our family was looking for vacations that we could do safely by car, and Assateague / Chincoteague was always on our list, so we decided to give it a try. We were really happy we chose to stay at Best Western for this stay, even after seeing the other hotels around town. The staff and Hotel were taking precautions to keep visitors safe, and they were pleasant while doing it. We enjoyed breakfast on our balcony in the mornings, afternoons at the beach, and evenings at the pool & take out dinners by the fire pit. They also let us know about the best food carts near by, and our hard to please 7 year old wanted to go by and visit them often. The only thing that would have made it better, is adding more days to our vacation (we did add one day & they were nice about that too).

We are repeat customers at Best Western and love to come to Chincoteague throughout the year— the sunrises over the ocean are beautiful no matter the time of year and we love how relaxing it is. We choose Best Western (specifically this location) time after time because the staff is so kind and always trying to make our stay the best it can be. The rooms are always clean and the beds comfy. The hotel is located closest to the wildlife refuge out of all the hotels and you have a view of the marsh and the lighthouse from your room. Also right across the street from a McDonald's, for convenience. LOVE this place.

My family stayed in a suite at the Best Western in Chincoteague. The suite provided the family with a lot of room and my two children (7 and 4) loved the bunk beds. Nice seating area in the kitchen for meals; we got take out from many local restaurants. And the hotel breakfast had a full selection of typical continental breakfast items. Staff was friendly at check in and we were greeted whenever we pass anyone. Bedding was very comfortable. We enjoyed one afternoon at the hotel pool and had it to ourselves.

We were only here for a couple of nights, but everything was clean and staff were professional. We didn't use the pool or fire pit, but these areas looked very well kept up with as well. We enjoyed the location of this hotel being right next to the gateway to the wildlife refuge. We rented bikes across the street and rode into the island that way. Nice to sit out on the balcony and watch people bike back and forth.

We firsted stayed here and it was great! This past time the end of June wasn't so great. We were told we couldn't check in early, so we waited out back and watched 2 other groups check in early on the same floor as us! We also watched no cleaning ladies go in or out of our room the whole time we had to wait. We were lied to and were made to wait while other were able to check in. I will not be back, there are great house rentals which I would recommend over this hotel.

I am sorry we weren't able to have you check in early. My housekeepers have been working even harder due to the Covid 19 restrictions and once a room is clean it is inspected. Some rooms do take longer then others to clean. We always suggest things for folks to do until the room is ready as there are many choices on the island. Now that it is summer we cannot guarantee early arrivals.. I hope you had a safe trip home and have a nice summer.

This hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful (they can even tell you about the “turtles” you find walking around the hotel grounds). It is always full of friendly families. Kids make friends at the pool, adults make friends around the big fire pit. The full breakfast tastes good, and there are options to please all age ranges. Even though the staff is working hard to meet the needs of all the guests, they make it look easy and they whole vibe of the hotel is relaxed. I highly recommend this hotel.

This trip we brought our 3 grandkids and stayed in the 3rd Floor Suite. Very spacious, clean and comfortable! The staff is first rate! Always greet you with a smile, hello and asks how your day has been. The breakfast is delicious and there are so many choices that even the most pickiest eater would find something to eat. The outdoor patio with the fire pit is so welcoming. Outdoor pool is cleaned daily. Have been coming to this hotel since 2014 and have never had a bad experience. Highly recommend this Best Western!

We just spent three glorious days at the Best Western Chincoteague Island. The BWCI is an exceptional hotel; everything is clean, everyone is friendly, the views are beautiful, the environment peaceful! Plus, we saw the ponies and enjoyed the beach of Assateague. Can't wait to return!

This is a great hotel near the beach and lighthouse. Beautiful views. Quiet area. You can really relax here. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Make you feel like family. Several restaurants in area. Many trails to hike or bike. Can even drive on Refuge Loop after 3pm. You can see wild ponies in certain areas. This was our second stay and each time has been great. They have a great breakfast with meat, eggs, waffle maker, cereals, toast, bagels, danishes, muffins. Very good. We always enjoy staying here.

We have been staying at this hotel for over 30 years. The rooms are excellent. They do not make hotel rooms this big anymore. The balconies are great to sit out on and relax. The hotel staff was Wonderful going out of there way to make sure we had everything we needed. This stay was 4th generation of family enjoying the Driftwood .

Perfect place for a getaway! Clean hotel and friendly staff, close to the wildlife refuge, beaches and variety of restaurants and shops. Outdoor pool was awesome and well tended to on a daily basis. We will be back!

Excellent choice of hotels on the island. Short walk to the national park. Entire hotel very clean and well kept. Our room was very spacious. Staff was super friendly and went out of their way to make sure your needs were met. Breakfast foods were excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

An email from Best Western Chincoteague that they were open for business as Virginia's COVID-19 restrictions were loosened a bit, resulted in us going for an overnight stay. The motel was in great condition, the staff great, and precautions in place for the health and safety of visitors.

Great location near edge of island. Closest to beach access. Restaurants very close to hotel. Clean rooms with everything in good order. Nice pool and fire pit area. Quiet rooms although some sounds travels from the pool area at times.

I'm way overdue reviewing our last visit. It is like visiting family, only better. My wife and I went for our 10th anniversary, as always the staff is welcoming and friendly! The rooms are always clean! I can never say enough except why would stay anyplace else while in Chincoteague??? We will be back next year!

We stayed at the BW on Chincoteague for a recent getaway in March. It was beautifully decorated and extremely clean. The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was very comfortable as were the beds, and it included a cute table and chairs, microwave, fridge with freezer, even a balcony with chairs and a little table so we could enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. It was more like a studio apartment! We were able to get take out and dine in our room one night. The hotel is so convenient to the beach, and all restaurants and shopping. If it was warmer weather the pool would have been open, as would the fire pit area. The grounds that include those options are very nicely manicured, and all furnishings inside and outside the hotel are stylish and updated. I would highly recommend staying here again.

We enjoyed the drive to Chincoteague with the whole family. The location of our Best Western couldn't have been better. The price was a bit higher because we rented the family suite. We also enjoyed the choices for breakfast and the staff were super helpful and friendly. The whole family enjoyed visiting the horses across was the street. The kids fed the horses and got to play with some of them. We also went to the Assateague National Wildlife Refuge and has an amazing time walking on the beach and searching for sea shells. We had a great time regardless of the cold

We stayed here on our way to OBX. It was part of our 35 wedding anniversary trip. Staff here made it an extra special stay. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Staff very friendly and always asking if we needed anything. Perhaps nicest facility we have stayed at. We planning on stopping in again in summer of 2020.

Oustanding motel on a beautiful Island. Excellent breakfast, clean, friendly and priced reasonable. Next to the Wildlife Refuge entrance, in fact it is with in walking distance.. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable about the area . I've stayed there every year for the past 30 years and plan to do so next year. I visit in winter to photograph the wildlife on the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge.

Staying at this hotel makes me happy. It is the best location on the island. Right at the entrance into Assateague (short walk, bike, or drive). Watch awesome moonrises, sunsets, and rocket launches from the bridge (few steps from the hotel). The hotel is kept impeccably clean and has an excellent hot breakfast. But the best part is the people. From the front desk to the cleaning crew and the breakfast attendant, hotel staff are all very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They sincerely try to help you have a great stay (I had car problems prior to my last visit and they worked with me to adjust the reservation). Breakfast time is particularly fun. Guests are happy (and proud) to share fantastic photos and exchange tips on where to go explore. Some guests go into the refuge as soon as it opens, take photographs, and come back in time for breakfast. Can't get any better than that! For rocket launches, book way ahead of time because now enough people know that the bridge is one of the best viewing locations so the hotel tends to fill up. Third floor rooms are the best but I've stayed in all floors and have been happy.

The rooms are clean and quiet. The hotel is adjacent to a salt marsh and the Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge. The staff offers a hearty breakfast. There are plenty of places to hike, an easy drive to the beach. There are some limitations as part of the fefuge is closes.

Spent the weekend here with my local birding trip. How convenient can you get - the hotel is right near the entrance to the wildlife refuge. (You can literally walk to the entrance - there is a sidewalk/boardwalk just steps from the hotel that lead to the refuge entrance - a great walk for nature lovers, birders, photographers) Large room - nicely furnished and clean, with microwave, small frig and coffee maker; lots of tv channel choices. My room had a balcony - looking out over the marsh, nice view of light house at night. Good breakfast provided - both hot and cold choices (including waffles and fresh fruit!) Reasonable prices. An extremely pleasant and helpful staff (they provided a lot of helpful information on local sites and restaurant options - even as to what was open during my off-season visit) Lots of free parking available at the hotel. There is a McDonald's right across the street and a small (but good!) restaurant next door if you don't want to drive to go to lunch or dinner. Met all my needs - will definitely stay there again.

Loved having a microwave in my room. Waffles for breakfast. Lots of parking and right outside the refuge. Good price and helpful staff. Comfortable room on the first floor with car right outside the door.

From the entry welcome gift bag and chocolate on the pillow to the traditional breakfast with bacon, eggs, and waffles plus fruit salad, sausage, gravy, and biscuits, this motel takes strides to make you feel at home, comfortable, and welcome! The rooms were large and well lit with two sinks. The off-season rates were extremely reasonable, and they matched the TripAdvisor rate without question. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Chincoteague is a great place to visit. We will definitely stop by again on our next trip south.

Had a great stay at the best western. Was right next to Assateague Island. The complimentary breakfast was very good. The staff there was very nice and helpful. With just a minute ride from Assateague we were able to get to Assateague Island and see the ponies and the wildlife on the island.

I have been staying here every year since 2015 and will be returning without a doubt. The location is perfect to access the Wildlife Refuge...is always clean and the staff is very pleasant. We've been here a few times over a 10 year period and that says it all considering all the choices available. Located at entrance to national park. Check in was a breeze and so friendly. Even called us 10 minutes after checking in to make sure all was satisfactory. Room was spotless. Remote sanitized. Beautiful room w a view that we asked for when booking room directly. Very comfortable firm beds. Nice breakfast room ..again very clean and continually restocked. Even had front door opened when using cart to check out.

Great Experience! Management was very accommodating. Working with the staff over the years has been a pleasure. The success of my photo workshops is dependent on the facilities and staff where the program is held as well as the quality of my instruction. Both the staff and management went out of their way to make sure my photo workshop ran smoothly and even provided me with a room and chairs where I could hold my meetings if the breakfast room was not available and the group had to meet inside due to rain. Will return next year.

We have stayed here before and didn't even look at another place for our 5 day stay. Front desk personnel were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. One rep even called a place I asked about and found they were closed. The dining area was very nice and had coffee as we entered. Food was varied and kept updated so nothing ran out. Room was nicely arranged and comfortable. We accidentally left a jacket in the room and they called us about it. They mailed it back at our request and we paid the postage. We received it very quickly. Such good service is always appreciated.

This was my first time on the island and my wife's 5th and we decided to stay at the Best Western. My wife has stayed at 3 other hotels, but never here. The front desk staff was warm and inviting and the ease of check in was so very fast. The lobby is small, but cozy. Our room was fantastic. The decor and furniture was top notch. Everything is clean and the mattresses and bedding are first rate. Very comfortable sleeping. Its so close to bridge to National Park you could walk. We are coming back and we will be staying here. Good breakfast and the morning paper included.

We were returning guests having enjoyed our two previous stays. The rooms were newly upgraded to our delight. The staff from front desk, to breakfast, to cleaning were all willing to go above and beyond to make our stay and excellent experience.

I was delighted with the Best Western in Chincoteague. The staff were welcoming and happy, my room was spacious, clean, inviting. I had a balcony overlooking the sunset. Breakfast was plentiful and good.

Wonderful hotel! The view from our room was fantastic with the lighthouse over the treeline and the grazing in the marsh. The bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was terrific. We would come here again.

My wife and I had a wonderful, relaxing visit on Chincoteague. The Best Western was a key part of the visit with a lovely room having a view of the lighthouse and some grazing ponies. The breakfast was great and the service was outstanding! One standout was the great night's sleep we had on a very comfortable bed. Thank you and this is the hotel we will come back to in the future.

I came to this Best Western because of a lack of availability of the other brands that I normally stay by. I have high expectations, and this Best Western, in the middle of November at a seaside resort, more than lived up to it. Spotlessly clean, everything fresh, great staff. I feel like I was on vacation!

This hotel is a nice location (very close to the national wildlife refuge and the beach) and the hotel is very well-maintained. It has a nice friendly feel and the staff is welcoming and helpful. We will certainly stay here again.

We always stay at the Best Western Plus Chincoteague while staying on Chincoteague Island. It is next to the cause way to the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge and the Assateague Island National Seashore. It also has a view of the Assateague Lighthouse. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. We love it here!!

We recently stayed at the Best Western in Chincoteague and were very pleased with the facility. The highlight of the hotel were the beds. We've stayed in many different types of hotels including luxury high-end establishments and the bed at this particular Best Western was second to none. The hotel is located only about 1/2 mile from the entrance to the national park. The room was a moderate size but featured two sinks and a balcony with a view of marsh lands, a lighthouse, the fire pit and pool, and McDonalds right across the street. In October the area was very quiet and the aforementioned McDonald's was the only commercial building we could see from our balcony. You won't find a better deal in Chincoteague that offers such comfy beds, reasonable prices, and closeness to the park. We highly recommend!

It quiets down this time of year but there are still many things to do to stay as busy as you would like to be. Please come back to see us again.

Very clean and excellent helpful staff. Always pleasant. Free breakfast is all you need. I love bacon and was glad to get it one morning. Lady kept food available and was very helpful if needed. We always stay here and have never been disappointed.

Best Western was a great choice - although we have stayed here in the past. The newest improvement since our last visit - a gas firepit. We would bring out glasses of wine, sit around the fire and talk with other guests. The staff are amazing - from the front desk, breakfast area and cleaning. The rooms are clean and totally enjoyed sitting on our deck every afternoon &evening. We would highly recommend this hotel !

We have stayed here many times and we keep coming back. We know we will always get to experience a helpful and friendly staff, a great location, and very beautiful surroundings The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Since we enjoy the outdoors, we love the location with close proximity to the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, the beach on Assateague Island, the Assateague lighthouse and water and wildlife all around with lots of great hiking and biking trails to experience. The new patio with a nice fire pit at the front of the hotel makes a great place to hang out and relax in the evening and chat with fellow travelers and nature lovers. We love the beauty and comfortable feel of this hotel. Can't wait to come back again.

After speaking to the staff, found out it has long standing family roots in the community. Really impressed with the location of this hotel. Last hotel before the entrance to the Refuge. Our room was so clean. I am allergic to many things, and hotel rooms are usually quite challenging. This was by far the cleanest room I have stayed in, hands down. Breakfast was good and plenty of it. Staff always available for our needs .Will gladly stay again.

Stayed on the first floor. Loved the sliding door to the patio. Next door to the museum and close to the foot of the Assateague bridge. Front desk was helpful and friendly. Rooms clean. Quiet. Breakfast was fine. I would definitely stay again I'd I come back to Chincoteague.

This is our favorite hotel on the island...It is convenient to the beaches and the island shops and restaurants.. Ut is a clean and beautiful hotel...large well appointed rooms...a gorgeous setting..and a beautiful and relaxing outside sitting area....

The staff and hotel are AMAZING! Made our anniversary really special! From the first minute we came through the door the front desk people were very helpful and cheery. Our room was spotless. The bed was comfy and the view wonderful. I enjoyed many hours just sitting outside looking at the lighthouse. The breakfast was delicious and had a good variety. I'm looking forward to going there again.

We have stayed at the Best Western a few years ago and came back to find it is better than ever. Clean rooms, wonderful hot breakfast, parking right by your door, and friendly staff are a few of the great things you will find here. The desk staff seem to know everyone on the island and can direct you to anywhere you want to go. Their suggestions for dining out are spot on.

This Best Western was clean, quiet, and beautiful outside. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My room was spacious, very clean, internet and tv worked great. The outside has lots of places to sit on a nice night, a beautiful swimming pool, and a fire pit! I really enjoyed staying here.

Our whole experience was Excellent! Check in was fast and the staff was super friendly! The room is really nicely set up and my favorite part they have lots of outlets including USB. The exterior is maintained beautifully including the pool. I will definitely be back!

First and foremost is the staff....from the people staffing the front desk to the people preparing our room for our visit. Top notch. The owners of the property continue to make improvements such as the outdoor seating area, refinements to the pool area, and of course, room improvements. Best Western Chincoteague is our preferred place to stay when visiting Chincoteague. The rooms feature tasteful decor, comfy beds, a convenient vanity outside the full bathroom, and free wi-fi. The location is great for visitors who wish to frequent Assateague Wildlife Refuge or the beach, as it's the closest hotel to both--just a short hop across the bridge and you're there. The breakfast offered is a plus, as it provides a number of choices and you can get something quickly and get on with your day without traveling to a restaurant, ordering, and waiting for your food. Highly recommended!

We feel that the Beat Western on Chincoteague was not only the best kept property but also the perfect spot to go over to Assateague. Had my morning coffee sitting on our balcony looking at the island and the lighthouse. The staff were ALL very kind and helpful about where to go. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Being we were staying at a Best Western we didn't expect much. We expected clean, comfortable and a good nights sleep. WELL! This Best Western is much more! Upon arriving the welcoming landscaping opened our eyes immediately. Perfectly groomed grounds, inviting pool AND an indoor/outdoor patio with a fire pit! The front desk personnel were cheery, efficient, caring and informed us of many amenities the island had to offer. The lobby invites you in with ICE cold water and lemonade along with apples and coffee. (Something we definitely needed after our long ride.) Our room was refreshing. A beautiful balcony (3rd floor), new appliances (fridge and microwave), a fresh smell in the air and VERY clean. It was like we were the first to stay in the room. The ice machines were always working and they have snacks on the first floor walkway. The continental breakfast is the best I have ever had and it is constantly filled...the attendant was up on everything and she was perfect. The meal offers hot cereal, cold cereal, bagels and buns, hot waffles (try the cinnamon), eggs and a breakfast meat, biscuits and gravy, apple juice, OJ, milk, coffee and a few others I'm sure I forgot. I am terrible with remembering names but EVERYONE is excellent and friendly. THANK YOU to everyone for making our trip peaceful and comfortable.

The Best Western Chincoteague Island VA is an exceptional hotel! The BWCI has everything we could've wanted in a hotel (additional sink in separate dressing area; TWO suitcase stands; quality/sturdy furniture; extra towel racks; easy entry tub/shower; automatic soft light over bathroom sink; full, hot breakfast; welcoming and helpful staff), and other things that put it over the top (quality outdoor firepit area with many seating options; add'l covered outdoor area with comfy seating; beautiful pool area with exquisite plants and flowers). Hotel is close enough to activities/restaurants for an easy walk or commute, yet you feel like you are on your own island with the Assateague Island connection next door. There are many lodging options on Chincoteague, but we think the Best Western is perfect for us, whether as a couple, a single, a friends trip, or with family - there's no reason to stay elsewhere.

Our accomodations at athe Best Western were extremely pleasant. Our room was kept very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and well presented. The area was always kept spotless. The server refilled the items when needed. Our location was good for visiting the National Park of Chincoteague Island. We ventured out early in the morning in hopes to get a glimpse of the Wild Ponies. The Island is quaint and the restaurants good gearing to local seafood. We would visit again.

The staff were really amazing. Everyone was friendly. They gave us a pass for the beach which was nice as it was a our first time and we didn't know we would need one. We arrived a few hours early so they automatically told us where the restroom to change as they knew based on my having two eleven year old girls with me that they wanted to go to the beach NOW:) We will be back to stay at Best Western! I also loved that McDonald's was right across the street as well as a bike rental place for $3.00 per hour to rent a bike. Highly recommend!

Returned to Chincoteague Island VA Best Western again & again & it never disappoints us. Lovely stay there. They added a nice fire pit & four seasons room with comfy couches & seating outside. This hotel is located right next to the Chincoteague Museum, which is right next to the bridge to Assoteague, across the street from McDonald's and a pony corral. The rooms are large, very clean, the staff is very helpful and friendly! They always have coffee, apples and oranges available, the pool is wonderful, all the pool furniture is in great shape. We stayed here for 6 nights and loved every minute of it. We also slept 8-10 hours a night - must be that ocean air.

This Best Western is a very nice, clean and friendly hotel! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Chincoteague. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. It is very close to the Assateague island. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My only complaint would be about the shower head. It really isn't a bad complaint but the shower head in our room needed updating as the water pressure was slow. We loved our stay and will be staying there again.

Amazing value and exceptional guest service. Stayed over a night to visit Assateague Island. Wanted to see the wild horses! Chincoteague is a small Island, just south of the Assateague Island where the wild horses are - made infamous by the book Misty! Great value and very clean room, nice amenities with clean and well landscapers gardens including a nice outdoor seating area for guests to enjoy. You can tell they take great pride in providing service..... called our room shortly after check in to make sure everything was to our expectations which to me says a lot. Room was quite spacious, with sliding doors leading to seating area just outside the room. Beds comfortable and clean. Fridge and microwave included. Great location just south of bridge to Assateague and very helpful front desk for map, information and even provides offering of entertainment for the rooms.... we didn't need this for our stay but offering of movie was nice. I'm assuming to be the film version of “Misty” among others. Definitely will stay again.

The hotel staff from top to bottom is SUPERB!!! The front desk staff is 2nd to none; the breakfast crew is great along w/ the food selection is spot on. The grounds are delightful especially the "fire pit" even on the evening of a 90 degree day :) We will stay here each and every time we visit the island no doubt. Room size is perfect and beds are comfy, patio/balcony furniture is well maintained, grounds are clean and pool area too.

Best place in town! Staff was fantastic Christa, Beth, housekeeper Dee just to mention a few, ALL GREAT. Bathrooms had great toiletries comfort level Toilets, Great mattresses. Nice Breakfast every morning (free too). Great location quiet and close to Assateague island. priced right too. I would go back in a heart beat.

We had a very comfortable stay! We loved the delicious breakfast every morning and the pool. The cold water and lemonade were always refreshing! The basket of fruit was an easy to go snack. The room was spacious and clean, and the beds very comfortable.

We got the adjoining rooms we requested, poolside! The flowers and other landscaping around the pool and outdoor seating area were very pretty, and the decor in the room was appropriate for the proximity to the beach for which we came.

I have always liked this hotel. The rooms are very spacious compared to similar hotels on the island. They recently renovated using a very relaxing neutral palette. They have greatly expanded the outdoor patio area and added a fire pit. They also doubled the space in the breakfast area. My kids and husband loved the waffles, the chocolate version was a hit and not too sweet. This my new favorite hotel. The staff was awesome and extremely professional. Perfect hotel for a family vacation. There are counter height refrigerators in each room and a microwave. Outdoor grills are also available

My wife and I decided to stay here on our visit to Chincoteague and we didn't want to leave. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. We got an excellent room at a reasonable price. The room itself was clean and spacious. We stayed for 2 nights and we loved everything about our stay. The hotel is within walking distance of the beach area. We've stayed in several hotels.... but this one is in our top 5. We are repeat guests for life.

Very clean and neat, friendly staff and reasonable price. I think the best about this hotel is the location as you have many stores and attractions within walking distance and like I wrote before at a very good price.

Always! Always! Perfect! Never want for anything, the service and staff are the best on the island. Beautiful facility and landscape and the new patio is welcoming and comfortable. Closest to the Wildlife Refuge which is a main attraction for me, I'm in and out of there all day and its so easy to dart back to the hotel for whatever I want.

I have reviewed this hotel before, but since then a couple of things changed. The location, hotel and staff are still more than satisfactory. However hotel started "downsizing" on bathroom toiletries ( if you are more than one person, you'll have to ask for extra every day at front desk) and it seems WIFI coverage and signal strength has gone down.

Over the last 20+ years I've stayed here frequently, (even before it became a Best Western), sometimes with my wife for vacation and sometimes because of my work with NASA at Wallops Island. The staff are invariably helpful and pleasant, the rooms always spotless and they constantly improve their facilities and grounds. It's close to the beach and the trails, near restaurants and shopping. Decent breakfast available. Very family-friendly.

Very clean, decent amenities, staff was very pleasant. Good location, especially for the beach. Breakfast is included - it's OK, standard fare for a free breakfast. Added bonus for kids - has a pool and is across the street from McDonalds.

This hotel is clean, the staff are wonderful, and it is right before you get to the National Park area, which has a gorgeous beach and great running and biking paths. I would recommend this hotel for family and friends, really anyone.

For a number of years now we have been coming to the BW Chincoteague for our first summer vacation. For us the hotel is like a home away from home. Our granddaughters look forward to this because we make reservations way in advance. The staff here are so helpful and attentive. They seem to anticipate your every need. A great breakfast every morning to start your day. Beautifully maintained property with lovely pool. And views of the light house are spectacular. After a long day of taking in the sites and multiple things to do you can always be assured of a quiet and restful nights sleep. We really consider this our home away from home. Hope to return for many more years! Thanks again to all the staff!

Stayed here for a long weekend and will definitely be back. Staff was awesome and gave great recommendations that made our trip. Hotel was immaculate and the free breakfast every morning was delicious. Staff really made the hotel. Couldn't be more helpful or accommodating. The views from the hotel were also beautiful and you are right at the entrance of Assateague National Park.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel this weekend and it was great! The staff was friendly and helpful,our room was nice and clean. Also the grounds were wonderful with a lounge area, nice clean pool and fire table. There was water, lemonade, coffee,tea and fruit in the lobby at all times. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel and will definitely stay again!

My family and I recently stayed at The Best Western for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The hotel offered excellent amenities (outdoor pool, full breakfast, complimentary fruit, juice and iced water and a small gym). The room: the king bed was very comfortable and the room spacious and clean. Rooms offered a microwave, mini fridge and complimentary toiletries each day. The staff: staff took their jobs very seriously and went out of their way to answer questions and provide helpful information. Location: the hotel is at the entrance to Assateague Beach and is within biking distance (bike rental company across the street). Many shops are within walking distance of the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chincoteague!

We spent four nights at this hotel, and it was fantastic. The rooms were clean, nicely decorated, and we loved having a balcony that overlooked the pool. The staff were all very nice, and we enjoyed the daily breakfast. Our kids spent several hours in the pool, we were lucky with just perfect weather. There was a cute little cat my kids would see outback and they loved greeting (their vacation pet!). The location of the hotel is great. We took some walks just down the road to look at the little crabs and cranes. We hope to return to this spot, we has a wonderful time.

The location of the B W motel is good, close to several restaurants. The motel is older but rooms had been remodeled. It is not directly on the water but it was motel closest to the water. Good views from front of room as well as at the back of the motel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast about the same as most. Pool available and also had a fitness room.

Hi John and thank you for your kind words. We have been hard at work this past winter completing our veranda renovations and a new patio area. Last winter we replaced our window treatments and this spring replaced all of our bedding. We hope you enjoyed your stay on Chincoteague and please come back to see us again.

The friendly staff enhanced this hotel experience from ordinary to great. This hotel is very close to Chincoteague National Wildlife refuge. It is easy to walk the causeway to the refuge or cross the street to a bike rental and bike the refuge. If you need fast food McDonald's is also across the street, but no need to go there for morning coffee. The hotel's coffee is fine. The staff will also be able to recommend an affordable good family restaurant or answer questions about your initial dining selection. Highly recommend this hotel.

From the very beginning with making our reservation we had a great experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating with setting up the reservation we made with a deal on Certifikid! They put us in adjoining rooms without me even saying anything! When we got to the hotel they were welcoming as well, they even went out of their way to set up the room for my daughter's special celebration. Anything we needed they were able to provide. The rooms were clean and pretty large. The pool looked great (it was a little too chilly for us to go in). The location was good, it is right by the entrance to the national park and a short drive to the town. We would stay here again when we make it back out to Chincoteague.

The reviews were right! Absolutely spotless hotel. We arrived early from DC - well before check-in. The front desk staff couldn't check us in, but offered the changing room, coffee, pool and waiting area for our use. We just changed our clothes and headed to the sunny beach. Spent the whole day at the beach and checked-in. We rented bikes at Bike Depot for an hour ($7 for two people). Beach and preserve are fascinating! Saw ponies everyday. Chincoteague is very family friendly and safe. Enjoyed it immensely and the Best Western has the best location on the island. Will definitely be back!

Very clean and cozy hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Unexpectedly varied breakfast. Nice location with opportunities for walking distance to nice restaurants.Have this place on your mind.

We were very pleased with our stay at this Best Western. It is right at the bridge from Chincoteague to Assateague Island National Wildlife Refuge with nice views from some parts of the property (the only distraction is the McDonalds across the street) The staff is wonderful - very friendly and helpful. Since this is a renovated property (it used to be the Driftwood Motel) it is not a concrete structure so the floors in rooms above can be a little creaky. Next time we will see if we can get a room on the 3rd floor. Wifi can be weak in rooms at the ends of the building.

Our poolside rooms have a lovely view of our pool and some of the rooms have a view of the lighthouse from the patio or balcony. Veryfriendly staff, everything is recently renovated, fire pit, decent pool for kids. Plenty of good eats near by. Fairest pricing on the island for the quality of hotel. Rooms were very clean and each room has a balcony which was perfect to enjoy the view and enjoy the night air. Highly recommend this hotel!

Wow, this is a LUXURIOUS hotel, the seating outside was fantastic, pool was great, room was sooo comfortable and the outdoor patio was so nice bc you can drive right up to your room to bring your stuff in. Minimal mosquitos, too! Staff was friendly, breakfast was wonderful. We recommend eating it out front in their seating out front of the entrance, which was divine outdoor furniture with deep cushions and beautiful, tropical plants!

Quiet, clean, excellent breakfast! It is at the end of the main road, near Assateague Island,. It is away from the tourist traps, although you can walk or bike to them. Bicycles are available at the hotel. Excellent museum/info at the Ranger Station. Bring your national Park passes. Tons of Mosquitoes on the Islands. We saw the wild ponies with one of the boat tours. Try to get a smaller boat with 10 or fewer people. You can get closer to the ponies. I can get cold on the boat, although they had quilts for us.

I went with my friend and our kids. The receptionist was very nice and welcoming. The room with 2 full bed was big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. The kids loved the swimming pool. Breakfast was typical american and good quality. It's close enough to the shore and the town for those that like to walk, but you can find parking if you prefer. In general a very good experience

My boyfriend and I stayed here over the weekend and it was great! There are some things that could be improved. The breakfast and seating for breakfast was very minimal. Parking was somewhat of an issue. The staff at the front desk was wonderful, but some of the housekeeping staff seemed to be in a bad mood. On the other hand, the room was great! Very clean and did include a fridge and microwave. I liked how you could easily access the back of the building if you were there. Overall, a great stay!

Chincoteague is special place!!! The ponies are their main attraction but there is a lot to do around the island and off. Highly recommend a visit. The beaches are wonderful and they take such good care of them.They have been hit by several storms and manage to bring everything back together, Lots of biking, birdwatching and crabbing on the island. Best Western is a great place to stay near the park. Rooms are spacious, staff very friendly and the breakfast is quite good also.

This motel is wonderful, clean and quiet. I often travel alone and when I was at this motel I always felt safe and secure. It is very clean; staff is always helpful. Coffee is fresh and there is also a fruit bowl for late night snacking.

This was a one-night stop-over during the course of a long road trip. We knew Best Western were reliable, but this place took us by complete surprise. HUGE room with two HUGE beds, spotlessly clean and well-appointed with great shower. Super-friendly staff who could not have done more to help us, especially with local eateries and advice about the stunning nature reserve. Bonkers value at the price. BEWARE - despite advice from the hotel (which we took), we were eaten alive by insects in the nature reserve. For the avoidance of doubt this did not affect the hotel or its environment in any way and insects were not obviously present there (it's some distance from the reserve), but many people will stay here with the reserve in mind, so go prepared!

This Best Western is one of the best I have stayed in. All staff members are extremely helpful, friendly and make you feel welcome. The hotel is within walking distance to the Wildlife Refuge and there is a McDonalds right across the street....you don't need McDonalds because the breakfast at Best Western was great!

Choosing an inexpensive hotel, especially in a resort area is risky. Pleasantly surprised by this property. Room was immaculate to the smallest detail. Well laid out with spacious bathroom & fridge area separate enough from rest of the room so activity there doesnt bother other occupants. Breakfast had plenty of freshly prepared variety with spacious & clean eating area. Location is the best for easy access to park on foot or bike. First time with this brand, impressed!

My husband and I have traveled a lot this year and in years past. We have stayed in all types of hotels across the country, meeting all types of hotel staff. Let me just say the STAFF at this BW is the absolute BEST, BW should be sending this staff to all their locations to teach hotel front desk staff they way they do it in Chincoteague. From my first phone call to get help with our reservation Beth was amazing, putting us in a room that was perfect for us. I mentioned in out conversation that it was our anniversary and to our surprise there were roses, salt water taffy and and beverages in our room with a card that read Happy Anniversary. The Front Desk Staff at this BW is top on our list. I can't say enough about how nice is it to be treated like you are special. The hotel sits at the edge of town and you have a great view of the lighthouse. Rooms and linens are nice and comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean. Beautiful pool area and breakfast area too. Definitively take their recommendations for dinner they were spot on. My husband would tell you I don't give many 5 Stars but this hotel is definitely a Five Star experience. Thanks everyone for making a weekend getaway a great memory.

The location is great! The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. Easy access to bike rental. The Best Western is right next to the bridge to Assateague Island and the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge.We had a great time exploring the trails and the beach. Met lots of friendly people and the ponies were loose in the marsh right next to the road.

Right at the entrance to Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. Very clean and updated. Nice breakfast included. Gracious staff. We rented bikes right across the street at the Bike Depot and then biked in the Refuge for 3.5 hours on most of their trails. Mini-frig and microwave were nice to have in the room. Double Queen room was quite large. Nice little balcony where we ate our take-out dinner and could see the Assateague Light House light come on in the evening. This is a great place to stay.

My daughter and I came down for the weekend to check out the wildlife. Best Western is beautiful and the staff is so friendly. I would highly recommend! It's right near the wildlife reserve, I could see the light house from our deck, horses that are fenced in for her to feed right across the street and everything is so close by. Will be back someday soon!

For the past several years, my family and I have visited Chincoteague twice per year, and we relish these opportunities to get away to a truly wonderful beach setting that is unlike anything else on the East Coast. Rather than the overly developed, tourist-crammed experience offered by Ocean City, or most other beach resorts in the region, Chincoteague offers easy access to the Assateague Island National Seashore. While you won't find a boardwalk, or a jillion t-shirt and nicknack shops packed onto its waterfront, you'll find a uniquely serene and undeveloped, wild seashore, as well as small crowds, great walking and biking trails, the famous ponies, and, when the water temp is warmed up, some great swimming, body surfing, and yes, surfing, along with the occasional pod of dolphins just offshore. In addition, space nerds like me will enjoy easy access to the visitor center for NASA's Wallops Island Flight Station, located just off-island. If you time your visit well, you may be able to witness the launch of an Antares resupply mission to the International Space Station; we saw our first - a night launch - from the balcony of our third floor room at the Best Western in 2015, and it was amazing! Part of what makes our time in Chincoteague so enjoyable is our selection of the Best Western as our hotel of choice on-island. Since our first visit several years ago, our experiences have been marked by a facility that is well-maintained and family-friendly, a free breakfast that tends to make everyone happy, and a customer service experience that has been uniformly excellent. It's quite clear that the ownership and management of the hotel emphasize service, friendliness, and hard work in their staff members, as these traits are consistently displayed by each of the front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance staff members we've ever encountered at the hotel. While the room rates are very reasonable, and the amenities and facility are absolutely terrific for families, it's the customer service ethos and friendliness of the staff that really makes this hotel a "must", over and over again. This sort of consistency is difficult to achieve, but they've managed to pull it off, and it in so doing, have succeeded in making an already relaxing destination even better.

we have options to stay at different hotels, individual homes or Bed and breakfasts....but each year we decide to go to the Best Western...The staff is on their toes...customer service is always with a smile, even on the phone you can tell they are happy to assist you...will be going again soon.

Great location, friendly people, and yummy breakfast! It was accessible to a lot of the restaurants and the park. I wish they cleaned our room on our one full day stay but otherwise, I would go back to this hotel again on our next visit.

My daughter and I just returned from a quick getaway to the island. This hotel is the closest to the park . The front desk is awesome ! the housekeeping staff is on point and the free breakfast and fair rates made it a no brainer . We rented some beach equipment and bikes from literally right across the street. We stayed on the third floor with a good view of the lighthouse .. and McDonald's is right across the street too. Our room looks like it was newly remodeled; the beds are comfortable; very clean and the staff did an awesome job of keeping it that way . Will definitely return to stay again our next trip to Chincoteague ..... did I mention free check in cookies ?

Our first time to Chincoteague and will be back! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and Christa (at the front desk ) was amazing!!! She helped us with suggestions on where to go and eat. I had noticed a billing error and once I let Christa know about it, she took care of it right away! The breakfast was really good and hearty- menu changed slightly but my favorite (sausage gravy and biscuits) was available during our stay. Nice outdoor pool but it was too cold to go in.

The room was super clean, modern, and comfortable. Housekeeping staff did a great job keeping the room fresh and clean without disturbing my personal preferences, which is great attentiveness to detail! Every staff member I interacted with during my short stay was extremely professional, kind, and upbeat. There was a nice dining area for the continental breakfast, and a fairly good selection of foods. There were coin-operated laundry facilities on site, but no gym facilities. I happened to be staying during a rocket launch at Wallops Flight Facility, and I had a great vantage point from my hotel room! (Binoculars would have helped, but even without, I could still see it clearly. So cool!) It was definitely a great place to stay, and I would stay here again.

Enjoyed our beautiful Easter Weekend and My Birthday. The staff even made it better with surprising me with flowers. Had a great time with family. Had 2 room and just so comfortable and clean. Best time ever. You all made it great.

I love to stay here when I come to visit Chincoteague. The location of this hotel is excellent being the closest one to the national Park. The staff treats us like kings and queens, and have gone above and beyond on many occasions. The rooms are always impeccably clean and quiet. Hotel is well maintained and updated as needed.

We stayed here following a rocket launch from the Wallops Island Flight Facility. The staff was very friendly. The room was exceptionally clean, well decorated and had a balcony from which we could see the Asateague Lighthouse. Breakfast was great..yummy sausage gravy and biscuits, plus eggs and waffles, yogurt and fruit, etc. Wish we could have stayed longer. Also...right across the street from McDonald's and next door to the museum. Wish we could have stayed longer.

My family and I stayed here to see a NASA launch. It was the last thing available on the island and I admit, my previous Best Western stays were uneven. But we loved the room. Very comfortable, plenty big enough and convenient to everything. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Would definitely stay there again.

This is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting the wildlife refuge. It's a short walk there, easy access to bike rentals. Hotel is clean, neat, great parking, cookies on arrival, big breakfast, all amenities. Friendly, helpful staff especially Tiffany.

This Best Western is the best! Very clean with large spacious room. Bathroom is excellent with separate dressing area. Floor length mirror on the wall opens to the ironing board and iron. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfast and eating area.

For many years my husband Thomas Baird II and I have come to Chincoteague and stayed at the Best Western for our Anniversary. This hotel is amazing. You feel like you are at home and have comfort like no other. The cleaning crew lead by Tanya do an expert job in keeping the hotel very clean. Kitty and Ann make sure our breakfast is top notch and so delicious. Tara our housekeeper did a great job. The staff are always accommodating and seem to be sincerely happy to see us. Dawn, Tanya, Kitty, Sandi, Christa, Tiffany, Ann, Tara and Gary have made our experience every year one to remember. I hope the owners Scott and Lisa know they have a wonderful team. As birders Chincoteague NWR and Assateague Island are birding hot spots that we visit on regular basis. We always stay at the Best Western which is about 30 seconds from the entrance to the NWR. We have stayed here numerous times and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and almost like staying at home. The rooms are spacious and quiet. The morning complimentary breakfast is a great way to start the day. You can easily bike from this hotel right in the refuge on the bike trails without getting on any road. The marsh is right next door when you can walk out and listen for Rails (depending on the time of year). Restaurants are minutes away - some are closed during the winter season. Always a great visit.

We love staying at the Best Western Chincoteague Island! It has become one of our favorite experiences each spring. We're close to Assateague, and can enjoy all the island's nature, as well as educational centers and galleries. Our stay at BW was tops -- friendly staff, great accommodations, and tasty hot breakfast. Love listening to the wind whisper through the pines and the birds chattering away. When we get tired of nature, we can always head into town and take in some of the galleries or grab some home-made ice cream. Can't wait to return next year!

How is this hotel not rated #1 on Chincoteague? I have said it before and I will say it again: best hotel experience I have ever had. (Third year in a row) This is the kind I place you will want to come back to, it feels like home. The nicest most welcoming folks you will ever meet. Clean and comfortable rooms, and nice views of Assateague. The revamped breakfast room is lovely with additional fresh hot breakfast options. The beds are super comfy and you will sleep great! I stayed in a queen room, which has ample room to spread out. Table and chairs, a comfy chair for watching tv, bath tub, in room coffee and fridge/microwave. It has all you could need. Did I say the nicest folks anywhere?! The love and pride put into running this hotel really shows.

Welcoming staff, super clean room. They even had a cover on the remote to let you know it was cleaned before your use. The breakfast was super. Gravy and biscuits, cheese omelets, waffles, yogurt. The staff is so nice. Will stay there again in a minute

The room was clean and spacious. The staff was efficient and friendly. The ground floor room have an area to sit outside in warmer weather. The breakfast was quite good, with a variety of food items. The hotel is quite close to Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, so the location is great if the refuge is your primary destination. The rates were off season and I felt were quite reasonable.

What an excellent hotel! We stayed here on our 30th anniversary. The staff had a surprise in our room-champagne! The room was ultra clean and still smelled fresh the next day. The breakfast was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and the grounds were very well maintained. A must stay on Chincoteague Island.

I stayed again at this BW twice recently, first to watch the launch of the Antares rocket (Nov 17) and then to watch the Geminids meteor shower (Dec 11). Best location in the island! A 2 minute walk to the bridge at the entrance of the Wildlife Refuge provides an unobstructed view of the launch (best kept secret, I am feeling guilty for making this public). No need to drive to the Wallops Island visitor center and fight traffic there. For meteor shower watching, a spot on the bridge past the barrier offers a decent view (blocking lights from the nearby McDonalds and lighthouse). Otherwise, the causeway is a short drive away. For Wildlife Refuge visitors, one can just walk or bike into the Refuge from the hotel. Besides location, the friendliness of the staff and the impecable rooms make this Best Western a great choice for a stay in Chincoteague.

Love the rooms and the staff very friendly, Breakfast space is a little tight but you can eat outside and look at the lighthouse from your table. The Sadest thing is i cant get there every year. Rooms are a good sizw and we love sitting on the Balconly taking Bets when the Lighthouse is going to turn on at Dusk.

My brother and I went up for a couple of nights to do some hunting, they asked if we needed breakfast and what time we would be getting up. When we told them 4:30 am, they said no problem, they would have a hot breakfast ready, and they did! The room was very nice and clean but the service was unbelievable. They were all so nice, but hot breakfast at 4:30am blew us both away. Great job Best Western Chincoteague, I'll be back again!

We have been staying at this hotel since 1984. Most of the rooms on the second and third floor closest to the national park have a lovely marsh view any time of the year. The rooms are overly large, clean, neat and with comfortable beds. There is a frig, microwave and keurig single brew. Pluses are two bathroom sinks and a heater in the tub/shower area. This is especially appreciated during winter stays. The staff is helpful and on duty 24/7. Breakfast are varied and delicious. You can go for healthy, but there are many temptations. The only caveat: on a recent stay in the corner third floor, a wind chime on the deck of an adjacent private home pinged day and night in the wind. If you are susceptible to noise at night, bring earplugs. There is not much to be done about this. In the winter, a stay here is a peaceful respite. In the summer, it is still more peaceful than others hotels.

A few extras made this a great stay. I especially appreciated two sinks and two full length mirrors. The room was very large, certainly large for four adults to stay together without getting on each other's nerves. Breakfast had a good variety of delicious choices. There was even a Southern nod to the location with biscuits and sausage gravy. Everyone was pleasant and helpful.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the Best Western Chincoteague. The room was super clean, the service was excellent. The front desk person even helped me to get the wi fi connection for my laptop. The breakfast was excellent also. Very adequate and tasty food selection. We were in Chincoteague to visit the National Park and the motel is situated right outside the park so we didn't have to drive far to get there. I will definitely be using this motel again the next time I come to the island.

Had a great stay at Best Western Chincoteague. Its in a great location just outside the wildlife reservation and near the NASA Wallops facility. the front desk was very friendly and engaging. The rooms were clean and great for sleeping after long days. The hotel was a great price as well.

The launch was delayed twice, and each time, a member of the staff contacted us to see if we wanted to change a reservation. The rooms have been nicely renovated, and everything was sparkling. Everyone was kind and helpful, no exceptions. I highly recommend this hotel.

We have stayed at this Best Western many times. They continue to improve and upgrade the facilities, and we will continue to use this as our headquarters when we visit the island. It is so close to the Wildlife Refuge, which is where we spend most of our time.

I arrived at Best Western on a Friday evening, was checked in with no problem. The front desk person, Hendrick, I think is name was, was very courteous and friendly.(I hope I have his name spelled right). I found the hotel and room to be very clean, neat, and well maintained. They seem to put an emphasis on being friendly as everyone I had contact with was very nice and helpful in any way they could. It's clear they take pride in doing their job. The breakfast was very good with a varied selection of items. My stay was short, two nights. On checking out I found that I had locked my keys in my vehicle much to my dismay. I went to the front desk and Hendrick was again on duty. I explained my problem and he made a phone call to a local lock smith who, for an exorbitant price, would come in an hour. Hendrick, being helpful, called around and was able to get the local police to open the door at no charge. The officer came but was unable to get me into my vehicle. At this time another guest approached the desk and hearing of my dilemma offered to help. He just happened to have lock smith tools with him and he got me into my vehicle in short order. What are the chances of that! I wish to thank Hendrick, his co worker Tanya, who went beyond my expectations for helping me and another worker whose name I did not get. All of these employees made a very unpleasant situation seem better just by their friendly nature and willingness to help with suggestions which ultimately got my problem resolved. So Tanya, Hendrick and the other employee, I wish to thank you all very much. To the guest with the tools, who ever you are, may you have safe travels. Sometimes in our travels through life we meet people who are exceptional and the employees at Best Western are, indeed, exceptional. To help a person, a stranger no less, through a trying experience shows the dedication of these employees. If it were up to me I'd give them a raise. I'm sure their attitude is a factor in guests returning for their stay. Again, thank you all very much.

This place was clean, the staff were pleasant, temperature in the room adjustable to our comfort, beds comfortable, breakfast huge & delicious, close to everything we wanted to see, and they even had two complimentary individual bottles of champagne on ice for my husband's birthday. We have stayed there many times and will definitely return again.

From the time you enter the hotel until you leave, you feel like part of one big family. The smiles and greetings that you receive are truly genuine. And the chocolate chip cookies at check in are delicious! The room are spacious, comfortable and clean. The Continental Breakfast has a variety of foods to choose from and very delicious. Excellent location very close to Assateague National Seashore. Very friendly staff and good, free hot breakfast. Nice, large, well-equipped rooms with fridge and microwave. The common areas are clean and comfortable.

Comfortable room, good breakfast with lots of choices and very friendly staff. We gave stayed here several times and have always enjoyed our stay. Oatmeal, different breads, waffles, eggs, bacon and sausage gravy with fruit and juice and tea, coffee and hot chocolate options. Welcoming to all ages. Rooms are non-smoking. I don't believe you can bring your pet but they aren't allowed on Assateague anyway. Beds very comfortable!

We have been staying at this motel since before it was a Best Western, starting back in the early 1980's. We have never been disappointed and return annually for birding and just enjoying the different scenery. This year they greatly improved their breakfast area by expanding it and making it easier to get around. The area is spotless and offers a lot of good breakfast selections, and trays if you want to take something back to your room. I always enjoy my morning tea, toast and complimentary newspaper while sitting in the breakfast area. The room has some updated elements, too, such as new curtains and a new chair (or maybe just reupholstered). In any case, the rooms are always clean, neat, and well-appointed. We always ask for a 3rd floor room which has great views of the marsh and lighthouse, especially at sunset. As long as we are able to make the trip from up north, we will continue to make this motel our home away from home. The proximity to the refuge can't be beat, and it's an easy walk/bike to that area. We highly recommend it!

This is our favorite hotel in Chincoteague, with an efficient and friendly staff, bright rooms and proximity to nature and the beach. The common areas are clean and comfortable. It has a nice pool. It looks out on nature.

Stay here in the summer with granddaughters and enjoy every moment. The hotel is always perfect and trouble free. It's like a home away from home but you do nothing but enjoy yourself. The staff could not be more accommodating. They go out of their way to make your stay the best possible. This was our first fall visit and it was great.

the staff is wonderful.Rates are great.They fixed breakfast at 5:15 am so we could be hunting on the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge one half an hour before sunrise.facilities are good and the location is almost adjacent to the refuge

This hotel was excellent! The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, even when our 4 year old had a syrup..."incident" in our room from the breakfast. The breakfast was great! Hot food, make your own waffles, fruit, coffee! All good. The maids did a great job cleaning, and respected your wishes if you didn't want maid service for the day. Each room has a balcony, which was an unexpected surprise. We went in October, so the balcony wasn't utilized as much as we would have liked, but it;s great to know they have it. Over all, I would definitely recommend this hotel. You are right across from a McDonalds, which isn't the most exciting view, but everything else was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel based on service and location to various attractions/entertainment.

Nice place to stay when visiting the area. Older location but kept up very well. Staff are all pleasant and cheerful. Very close to the bridge that leads to the park. There is a bike path along the bridge which is separate from the vehicles and very safe. You can avoid the $20 entrance fee by riding your bikes over. Only a few issues with the hotel. If you are a light sleeper get a top floor (only 3) as even walking above can be noisy. The breakfast area is a little tight so finding a table during a peak time can be a little challenging.

Just got back from a long weekend in Chingoteaque VA. Stayed at our favorite hotel Best Western. Very pleased once again. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Very clean, some new updates and rennovations in our room. Great continental breakfast. Closest to the beach and nature trails.

clean room, accommodating and friendly staff, very good breakfast and of course convenient location close to the park entrance. The pictures on the hotel website are accurate. There are 2 of us and our 21 yr old son, the 2 queen beds are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast include large variety of cold and hot items including fresh fruit, cereals, scrambled eggs, sausages, bagels, breads (yes wheat too), yogurt, waffle machine, also fruit and coffee available all day.

On our first visit to the area, we lucked out and found the best hotel! Pros: -location: the closest you can stay to Assateague Island -room: the room was spacious & clean, and EVERY room is a balcony room. -breakfast: the complimentary breakfast offered a nice variety of choices and the eggs changed from morning to morning (including scrambled eggs and cheese omelet), along with Belgian waffles, pastries, cereal, yogurt, breads, and more. The food was kept well stocked regardless of when you arrived during the breakfast hours. The staff was friendly and kept the area clean. -pool: our granddaughter is part fish and we made good use of the outdoor pool. It was a great size and ranged 3-5' deep. The pool was clean and towels were available from the hotel. -staff: saved the best for last. They were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to accommodate any request. Service is clearly a way of doing business here and it shows in every staff member we met. Cons: -difficult to find, but the only possible downside was each room was outside access; no interior access. This wasn't an issue for us in any way but I know this matters to some folks. Overall, the stay was outstanding and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and recommend it to any friends that come to the area. The rate was reasonable and we appreciate BW military discount.

Went to a Reunion in Ocean City for a few days, on our way home I want to take the opportunity to see Chincoteague I've never been there. We were only there for one day and one night really got to have a flavor of the island. The hotel was great. It was right outside the Entrance to Assateague.

We booked the hotel by accident. We were supposed to be on MD end of the island for an event. Unfortunately we only spent 1 night there however the room was very comfortable and the grounds were well maintained. Most of all the staff was great! We had many ?'s because of our mistake and were worried about getting to the event the next AM on time. They were very helpful. We made it to the event the next day on time thanks to their directions and suggestions.

Room was recently redone - very acceptable - clean. Breakfast was just fine - the traditional spread with the Belgian waffles. Nothing special. The staff make the place really nice. Bring your bug spray.

This was a perfect place to stay. The staff was friendly, the room was very comfortable and large with a microwave and refrigerator, sofa, table, chairs and a pleasant balcony, and it's located right next to the refuge. We even had laundry facilities provided 15 steps away. We came back from the beach sandy, and a very nice outdoor shower was available. There's also a pool, if one enjoys those.

So clean! So professional! So eager to provide each guest with a comfortable, affordable stay!This hotel is in a pretty location on a beautiful island. The owners of this hotel deliver a quality experience. They truly care about the folks entering into their front door, and I'm glad we did.

This BW is one of the best we stayed at. The rooms are clean and have patios. They are just straightforward hotel rooms. The free breakfast is pretty good for a hotel breakfast. Sitting down to eat is somewhat limited in space but do-able. The location of this hotel makes it an arms reach to the wildlife refuge. The on-site pool is a nice touch especially when it's hot outside.

We have been staying at this motel for 12 years, as we travel to Chincoteague every Sept. for a week every year. Never in all the years have we ever had a bad experience. Staff is friendly and caring, room is clean and comfortable, view of the assateague lighthouse is fabulous, day and night. Close to beach on the refuge. Lots of breakfast items to choose from. We love it here the peace and quiet and all the people we have met since coming and gotten to know. We look forward to seeing everyone every year. Would definitely recommend this Best Western when visiting Chincoteague Island. The entrance to the conservation area is right there. The staff are very helpful and go above and beyond. Hotel is clean and very comfortable.

We visited Chincoteague to see my elderly Dad. We were there Sept 10-12th 2018. Just about the time everyone was gearing up for Florence. The staff are warm friendly and gracious. The room was immaculate and large. I like having 2 sinks one in the main bath and one outside the bath if you just need to freshen up while the bath is occupied. The grounds are beautiful as is the pool area. After check in we received a courtesy call asking if all was as we would like. Just exceptional customer service. Actually you felt like a guest. A special guest. All staff greeted us with a smile and a friendly hello. We were told at Assateague Island we were under emergency evacuation. We went back to the hotel and they assured us that we were fine until Wednesday am when all non residents had to leave. Check in and check out were a snap! The. Complimentary breakfast was more the sufficient. The lovely lady who took care of things made sure it was clean and well stocked. And as gracious as can be. These are people who really love their jobs you can tell in the small details which become apparent during your stay. Most definitely we would stay there again!

I've stayed in many expensive four star hotels and none do a better job than this Best Western. Recently renovated, all the fixtures - in the rooms, bathroom, lobby, restrooms, swimming pool - were top notch and high quality. It seems as if no expense was spared. The grounds are beautiful, amazing flowers and plants surrounding the pool and the very nice patio. My wife and I sat on the patio during an afternoon rain storm and it was so lovely, you could imagine you were in the tropics. It is the closest hotel to the National Seashore but this is one place that doesn't just rest on it's prime location. We've stayed in maybe 5 or 6 hotels in Chincoteague over the years and without a doubt this is the nicest. The service was top notch and the desk clerks, a young lady and gentleman, who checked us in on Friday night (9/7/18) went above and beyond to take care of us. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from the front desk, to the food service to the maids. Rooms were spotless and looked to be brand new. The bath/shower/commode room had it's own sink and there was another outside, which is always a nice touch. The room was large with two bureaus, a dining table/desk, two very nice wooden chairs and a large comfortable easy chair. There was a also a cold refrigerator and a microwave. A nice touch I've never seen before were TWO folding luggage stands, both made from hiqh quality wood. Everything was top notch, way above motel standard and as good as, or better than, anything I've encountered in high end downtown D.C. hotels that charge twice as much. if not more. The balcony overlooked the beautiful pool as wellas the bay and we could see the lighthouse on Assateague. The balcony was spotless, along with the door glass and the tables and chairs were rustically made out of real, heavy, wood. Most hotels seem to overlook the balconies maintenance and cleanliness and the chairs and tables are usually that cheap resin. Now, this is NOT a four star hotel in that you don't pay anywhere near those kinds of prices, so the complimentary breakfast was pretty much what you would expect from a hotel that doesn't have a restaurant but still, it was at that top end of that culinary accommodation. Most importantly the coffee was good, strong and hot. And if I could think of anything at all that would make my stay even better would be to provide real glass tumblers instead of clear plastic cups with the ice bucket. No big deal for us, as we always bring our own (can't drink good whisky out of a plastic cup, you know). From now on whenever we come to Chincoteague we will be staying at the Best Western.

Location, location, location. Honestly we were drawn to the hotel by it's location and came back because it is such a great place to stay. The recent renovations to the lobby and breakfast area are fantastic! Love that there is so much more room at breakfast time and the breakfast hostesses are always so nice! Of course, so is all of the staff there! I love staying here - the staff is so accommodating, friendly and honest in their opinions and suggestions. They truly go out of their way to make you feel at home and try to honor any special requests- which is why we keep returning and will look forward to returning again. Oh, and they have a grill! My kids love that they can walk from the hotel to go crabbing, and then return to cook them for lunch! Definitely fun island style :)

I would not consider staying anywhere else on the Island. The building and grounds are beautiful and make you feel like you are in a special place on a special island. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They really want to be sure you enjoy the island. I love the fact that the rooms are all accessed from open balcony walkways instead of sterile closed up hallways. If you are going to the island to enjoy nature, you are into it just by opening the door to your room. The location is as close to the Chincoteague NWR as you can get and a short walk across the causeway puts you right into some great birdwatching, hiking, and beach activities. If the ocean is not your thing, the pool area is quite nice and a wonderful place to relax.

We have been to Chincoteague many times and now this is our favorite place to stay. We have tried other hotels, but none compare to the service and quality of Best Western. Only thing that would ever improve your stay here is an indoor pool, but May-September the pool is awesome.

Close to beach and convenient to town. Nice views of salt marsh. My husband had a birthday while here and the staff brought him mini bottles of champagne and Pony Tails saltwater taffy. While the original building is older, it has recently been updated inside and out. The landscaping is beautiful and the pool is nice. A great place to stay. Feels like you are visiting friends!

This Best Western has the most wonderful staff I have ever experienced in hundreds of hotels I visited!!! The front desk staff, every one of them, is incredibly, beyond belief in every helpful way!! Also the breakfast staff is also off the charts, accommodating!! Besides all that, the rooms are incredibly clean, the beds are incredibly firm and comfortable, even the shower is super, the breakfast is Great, the pool is incredibly clean and really nice!! Can't say enough about this great stay!! PS. Seeing wild horses and having the greatest Seafood ever, where huge bonuses!! If you come here I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!! Everything about this place exceeded my expectations. Rooms, pool, service, convenience and the people. Better than home. Check out is early (9:30am) but that's not a big deal. We will only stay here when visiting the island.

This hotel was just minutes from the beach. The staff was welcoming, the hotel was clean, and pool was beautiful. For those with kids, there is a McD's right across the street. Breakfast was good and customer service was excellent, from front desk to maintenance. We will stay again!

This hotel is wonderful. Great service w friendly staff, nice pool, large and clean comfortable rooms, close as you can be to the beach and museum, good breakfast, and plenty of parking. So where is the but? When we walked out on the balcony, across the street was a McDonald's. We did not have a view of the marsh or water but the golden arches which is lit up like Vegas at night. Now if you don't care about that, this is a wonderful place to stay. My wife and I like to sit out on the balcony at night or in the morning and staring at McDonald's does not cut it. We will not return but it is no fault of the hotel.

Front desk so courteous and helpful, very clean, great breakfast etc. had no complaints whatsoever. Wonderful facility, looking forward to visiting again at Best Western, in Chincoteague. Have used this facility several times and would recommend this hotel to anyone!

This hotel has very recently been renovated inside and out and is in a great location, right at the edge of the entrance to Asateague Island and near nice shops and restaurants. The pool is large and in terrific condition. Rooms are modern and clean. The staff, from front desk to cleaning folks, were all extremely friendly, courteous and professional. The beach at Asateague Island is fantastic. Only criticism is that the breakfast was of poor quality, (instant eggs and oatmeal, canned fruit, and basically zero options for healthy eaters).

We do have fresh fruit for breakfast (and in the lobby) every day and there is also yogurt with various toppings available every day as well as whole wheat bread, multigrain cereals & muffins and gluten free items in addition to the other "maybe not so healthy" eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. We are constantly trying to improve our breakfast experience so we will be on the look out for more "healthy" options and thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your business very much and hope you will return and visit with us again!

Best Western is great. They are so friendly and accomodating. Have been staying with them for 10 years and they keep getting better. The new breakfast area is great. Always a chocolate chip cookie at check in !

The hotel was very clean, breakfast was great, the pool area was a fun atmosphere, beds were comfortable and clean, as well as the laundry area. I am a best western housekeeper so my standards are very high and were met in all areas! we were extremely pleased and would recommend to anyone looking to stay on the island! Our housekeeper stephanie was great and the others were always smiling!

Just returned from a stay at Best Western on Chincoteaque. Every aspect of our stay was great: the hotel is very clean, the staff is always friendly, smiling and going out of their way to make sure you are happy. Breakfast is served every morning. Pool is enjoyable in the evenings after the beach. And there is a perfect location - the nearest to the Assateaque beach! All in all - we will be back for sure!

We love Chincoteague & have been here several times for vacation, this was our first time staying at the Best Western Chincoteague. From the moment we first walked in & were greeted with chocolate chip cookies and fresh fruit to our final goodbye at checkout we felt so welcomed and at home. Everyone was so incredibly friendly and helpful! The hotel itself is just lovely: nice rooms, beautiful landscaping, and the pool is fantastic! Best location on the island for us, since it is so close to the beach so hubby & son, who aren't quite the dedicated beach bums as my daughter & I are, could quickly pop back to the hotel for a snack or a swim if they had enough beach time, then quickly trek back to pick us up. The balcony & the beautiful patio out front were really nice features that we took advantage of way more than we could have imagined. A wonderful trip, something for everyone: we will be back ??

We always enjoy staying here. Is beautiful property. The staff is wonderful. Beth, Dawn, Kedrick are so helpful. The rest of staff is friendly, nice and attentive. We will be returning again. Makes for a relaxing day by the pool.

Good service and clean rooms! I really enjoyed staying at this hotel and seeing the lighthouse from my room every night! I definitely give the breakfast area a thumbs up and so does the out door pool!

I love Chincoteague & have stayed at a number of hotels around the island. This is hands down the best! The location CANNOT be beat - bike or walk right into the refuge, bike rentals across the street - but the staff made my stay. They were incredibly warm & gracious - every one of them! I had trouble with my fridge when I arrived - it was an easy fix - and they were all over it. They were super responsive & checked it throughout the weekend, just to make sure it was keeping everything cold (it was!). When they realized it was my birthday, I received flowers & champagne from the hotel - WOW! I have stayed at hotels around the world, and the staff here is the best I've encountered. The room was very comfortable, I loved the balcony, the pool is gorgeous, and everything is very well-kept. Oh - the breakfasts were darn good too. Can't wait to return!

Beautiful area and wonderful hotel. Staff is excellent. The rooms and grounds are lovely . breakfast is always delicious. It is closest hotel to Assateague and has a great view of the lighthouse at night time.

This was our first visit to Chincoteague. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect. The breakfast was very good and a great way to start our busy days biking, swimming and hiking. I would definitely stay here again .

We had a wonderful weekend . The front desk was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and spacious. I've been curious to check out Chincoteague for some time and luckily the stars aligned on a recent trip and I was able to detour out to the island for a quick visit. Now I get why my friends & family rave about it and look forward to a longer stay in the future. Would definitely stay at this BW again. Very convenient location. Super friendly and helpful staff. I was there with a Road Scholar group recently, with my grandson. The staff were great - from front desk to housekeeping. The rooms were very clean; each room had a fridge and microwave. There's a pool just steps from the front door. I particularly liked that the size and location were conducive to letting my grandson go off on his own in the building (and made plenty of solo trips to the front desk for mints). My only nit: no sleep timer on TV. The location is also great, right next door to the small, but fun, Chincoteague Museum. If I go to Chincoteague again, will definitely stay at the BW.

Motel is beautiful. The outside is nicely landscaped and it is very well kept. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean. The beds were very comfortable. Our room had a balcony with two chairs and a small table which we really enjoyed. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and had a large variety of hot and cold items. The staff was very friendly, helpful and determined to make our stay a nice one. Only negative was the sketchy wifi. We will definitely stay again.

We love coming to Chincoteague, VA. It's a perfect place for families. Over the years we have stayed at many hotels on the island. We will now only stay at Best Western!! The room was full of space and comfort. Everything is clean and fresh. The best part is the staff. They are absolutely the best!! Can't wait for next summer!

Despite the high price, we absolutely loved this hotel. Great location- quiet and well maintained. Had everything we needed- fridge, microwave, coffee maker, balcony. The bed was large and comfortable and the two bathroom sinks provided an extra convenience. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and the hot breakfast in the morning was top of the line. I was very impressed and had a great time on Chincoteague!

Three of us had a perfect stay. It's the closest hotel to the beach so you can come and go quickly. The hotel staff are very pleasant and checkin/checkout was speedy. The grounds of the hotel are well kept and pretty with the flowers. We ate breakfast outside on the lovely patio each morning. Breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast but there was a large variety of items to suit everyone and they were replaced when running low. The area was kept clean and I thought there was plenty of room between indoors and outdoors. Our room was quite large. There was a microwave and small fridge which came in handy. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. We had a balcony overlooking the pool and lighthouse which was nice, although we didn't spend much time there. We never heard any noise from the neighbors or outside at all in the room. The pool looked nice, but we did not use it as we spent all our time at the beach. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place.

We had one of their deluxe rooms and it was so nice. Comfortable bed. Staff was supper nice. Located right on the highway to the beach. There is a trolly that costs a quarter to ride the whole island. Very kid friendly hotel. Breakfast was typical free breakfast.

This was one of the nicest hotel stays I have had. The room was immaculate. The pool was great. The breakfast had variety and was yummy. The best part though was the staff, they were friendly and accommodating. Christa, Kedrick and Desmond went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home and had everything we needed. This will be the only hotel I will stay at on Chincoteague Island!

Upon our late arrival, front desk personnel were so friendly, quick and accurate to check us in. Asked questions to us, very helpful. My jaw dropped when I opened the door to our room. One of the CLEANEST rooms I've ever stayed in!! Spacious, cozy, layout spectacular. I would have loved to stay there longer.

I stayed at the hotel for one night passing through to see the pony penning and visit the lighthouse. I was impressed by the customer service at the first desk. Those ladies are awesome!! So warm and welcoming, not like so other hotels I have been to. The room was very spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable. I wish I would have stayed longer!

We came to the Motel 34 years ago when it was the "Driftwood Motor Lodge " and have ever since. It continues to be family owned under the Best Western name. They continue to do their very best to accommodate all your needs.The breakfast (Inc. in price) has many choices, the outdoor swimming pool and gardening around the property is always kept up. Every year we have seen updates to the property. The room service and front desk our very friendly and helpful.You can't beat a better place to stay near one of the most beautiful National Sea Shores!!!

We are very happy that we decided to stay at the Best Western on Chincoteague Island. From check in to check out, we were not disappointed. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and the view from our balcony was wonderful. We had breakfast a couple of times at the hotel and it was good. There a nice selection of breakfast foods for everyone. The pool was nice with plenty of seating. There are washers and dryers if you need to do laundry and a fitness room. It is close to the Wildlife Refuge and the beach. We really enjoyed our stay and will hopefully be back again.

We have stayed here twice and are always impressed with the staff, rooms and lovely garden in the front. The beds are super comfortable and we always sleep well. We are happy to be right next to the entrance to the Assateague National Seashore at this hotel, it is out of the business of

the Best Western on Chincoteague Island was delightful. The room was decorated very cute, and the room was clean and comfortable. Every member of the staff at the hotel was pleasant, smiling, and helpful. We loved it!

This is the second summer our family has stayed at this hotel. The location is great- as close to the beach as you can get and with a great view of the refuge and the lighthouse. It's right across the street from bike rentals and a pen of ponies you can feed. The rooms are good sized and nicely furnished and very clean. The outdoor pool is appealing and very nicely landscaped all around. But most importantly the staff is super friendly and helpful. When we got a flat tire on the Sunday we were going home they helped us with the difficult task of finding an open place to get a replacement even though they could have sold us another room for the night. It's ss a great place and I couldn't recommend it more highly.

The rooms were very nice and spacious and very clean. The entire staff was very professional and nice. The breakfast bar that was included in our stay was great. It was nice to be right next to the park. We could bike or hike with ease to the beach. It is a great place to take the family and there is plenty to do and plenty of fun things for the kids.

We stayed in the Papa John suit as a family of 6 (one baby in the group). Was clean and had ample space. Bigger kids loved having their own space and we were able to easily fit pack and play in kitchenette. Bathroom was great, clean with enough towels to accommodate everyone in our group. Breakfast was very good and well maintained, even had highchairs available. Pool was clean and well kept and towels were available to be signed out at front desk. This hotel had an amazing lighthouse view and was right next to Chincoteague museum and entrance to Asateaque island. But the exceptional part of the hotel was really the staff. We had plans change and the ladies at the front desk were able to come up with a few great ideas to keep our kids busy. Everyone we encountered was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond. We liked it so much we tried to stay another night but they were full.

I and my sister had to book a hotel for only one night at the last minute, (for a funeral). This was a weekend after the 4th of July so I didn't have high hopes. I was happy to just get a room with as high a star rating as possible. I called ahead when I confirmed the reservation and requested early check in but I didn't really think this would be possible because of the busy weekend and how early we would need to check in (and change for the funeral after travelling). When we got there we asked to use their restroom to changed because we assumed our room was not ready which they quickly OK'd however we were very pleasantly surprised that our room was ready even at the early time we checked in. We were only staying overnight however after our day's events and getting back to our room it was a nice clean pleasant room. We just relaxed for the rest of the day/night. Though we were not there for a vacation I saw how this hotel is a great location on Chincoteague Island, great views, I think they may have bike rentals (I saw guest with them), near the wildlife reserve a short drive or even a short bike ride and I think it's walkable. We slept in so we did not experience the free breakfast . Free- WiFi, mini fridge w/ freezer in the room, a great hotel for a family stay on the island. Great staff.

The team was incredibly welcoming and caring during our entire stay, I can't say enough of their wonderful customer service. The location cannot be beat, right next to the park entrance with a beautiful view from our room balcony. The rooms are great size, very clean and perfectly equipped with all the necessities (microwave and fridge included). I enjoy watching tv before bed and one of my biggest pet peeves is TVs with poor connection at hotel, tv had lots of channels and the connection was great. Breakfast was hearty and options plentiful. First time at Chincoteague, but will be coming back and staying here again and again!

My wife and I decided to stay here on our visit to Chincoteague Island and this hotel was absolutely outstanding. We called at the last minute and got a very reasonable rate. The hotel is in a beautiful area right near the beach. All of the staff members at this hotel are kind and professional. This was one of my favorite Best Westerns ever. We will definitely stay here again
