"Cheap stay"

The hotel isn't bad. You get what you pay. I arrived around 10:30pm because of a delayed flight and I had to take another one the next day at 7am. The hotel couldn't guarantee that the shuttle was going to be there at 5am, so that was a bit stressful. The elevators were broken and it could have been more clean, as I found a cockroach in my bathroom. Overall I would give it a 2.

"Do not stay here"

I have been waiting for a call back from the hotel manager who keeps avoiding my calls. Upon check in I was told the airport shuttle started at 5am my flight left at 6am. And i went to the lobby I was told no one would be able to take me to the airport until 6am. Which was unexceptable due to the fact that I would miss my flight. The early shuttle was my sole purpose for renting this room. And this establishment does not seem to care to acknowledge there mistakes. The front desk lady was very nice but due to the management, this hotel is not one I would ever recommend.

"Some minor updates"

There were some minor dysfunctions within the room like the door not closing behind me, and some coffee stains on the wall. Overall i loved that there was a large mini fridge and microwave in the room. Would have been nice to have blow dryer may have over looked it. There was a hot breakfast and other items.

Smelled of URINE and Smoke. Would not stay again. This location should not be branded. It should be renovated or condemned. Would not stay again at this location. Feels like I was in a developing country not the U.S.

"Possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in"

This hotel was awful: pilled sheets, broken furniture (desk is about to lose a leg), no fan in the bathroom. Room smells like stale smoke, toilet paper is cheap and scratchy, bed had one blanket -no quilt or spread -and no extra blanket in the room. Bathroom floor was sticky and dirty... I think I'm done with Best Westerns because we've had a few dodgy ones in a row. Hot breakfast though -cheese omelets, bacon, sausage, pancakes, etc. So that is a plus.

"Not good"

Hotel in bad area…homeless, traffic, noise…not safe environment. Room had many bumps under the carpet. Major issues with television. Channels lost signal, audio, video or both. Breakfast was very limited and very unappetizing.

Fighting woke us up around midnight. I thought there was a murder. Definitely a drug deal of some sort. I called front desk for help and didn't get any. We were sitting ducks up there and just had to wait for it to be over. Old hotel Cracked paint Terrible location Urban strip club open until 5 am just 2 doors down. I wish I knew that last part before booking this hotel.

I like the hotel A LOT. Would be nice if they enforced the no smoking policy. I could smell marijuana every time I was in the bathroom and hallway. The room was clean and comfortable. However it would be nice to have a lounge chair and not just the standard chairs...The young lady at the front desk was AWESOME!!

I like Best Westerns and have stayed at a lot of them. This one was OK. The rooms were a nice size, and overall it wasn't a noisy location. It's a little tired and showing wear. Our toiler was running, rather than call for service, we just fixed it ourselves. The TV was very, very dim, no way that I saw to fix that. The wifi was ok. Covid has changed many breakfast offerings, and maybe that was at the heart of it, but I doubt it. The breakfast served was mediocre at best. One kind of fruit: apple, only bread for toasting, some uninspiring packaged pastry, packaged kid cereal. Oddly enough, they left the waffle machines out, but only offered premade pancakes that could be heated in the microwave. If communal touching was a worry it's a little weird that it would be ok for everyone to use the microwave and every table had a large bottle of syrup. A plus, the airport transportation showed up two minutes before it was due, and whisked us off to the airport. This was not a terrible hotel, it was fine for overnight before a flight out.

Chose the hotel because of the location to the airport. Clean rooms and very comfortable beds. The room air conditioning unit is very noisy. We requested a early wake call because we had an early flight. No wake call and no grab and go breakfast bag. They have quit servicing a hot breakfast. No was was even at the front desk when we left.

After I got out of the shower I had a conference call and I paste on the carpet for about an hour and when I sat down I noticed my feet were completely black on the bottom. I was so disgusted. How could a carpet be that filthy.

"Smoke Smoke Smoke - Find another place to stay"

We stay in hotels 15 to 20 nights a year. Best Western is usually our go to hotel. This hotel definitely did not meet the Best Western standards. Everything reeked of smoke. Elevator, hallway, rooms, bedding. If we weren't exhausted from traveling, we wouldn't have stayed. Our bags now smell like smoke. Would never recommend this location.

Hello Kathy, I apologize for the inconvenience you had during your stay. We are a 100% non smoking hotel. We do charge guests $200 for smoking in the room. But some people smoke anyways and don't care. Don't know if you complained to the front desk while you were there. We could have looked for the guests smoking and would escorted them out of the hotel. Again, apologies from all of us here at Best Western.

Its a Best Western, there are standards and procedures for this reliable hotel chain. And for only $110/night on a Friday its really hard to complain about anything. PROS: -Friendly Staff, they even let me store my luggage. -Free airport nice is that? -Spacious and clean room and bathroom. -Comfy bed,Coffee Maker, Microwave And Refrigerator -Conveniently near the light rail system. -Continental Breakfast...though I was too hungover and overslept to see what it was all about. CONS: -Hotel is a little older. -Room initially smelled heavily of cleaning least that's a good sign right?

My room had bugs the people down the hall fault all weekend when I reported the problem they were careless to my needs. They did nothing to fix my problems internet was slow microwave did not work toilet seat was broken. Just not a good stay I travel a lot because of my job so I'm very disappointed

I was not satisfied with the quality of service I first received; however the hospitality of some of the staff was great and made the experience better. I waited an hour an the airport for the shuttle because the receptionist FORGOT to dispatch it. When I got there, the doors were locked and thankfully the driver waited with me until i could get in.

We liked being 15 minutes from the airport and close to Billy Graham library. Breakfast was nice and room was very clean. The employees were very helpful and friendly. We would stay again! The only drawback was our room being close to the noisy road.

I just couldn't get comfortable here. My room had old, worn furniture. The toilet had water well above a normal water level and a slow flush. The bed was hard. And while I can't say the room was dirty, I also can't say that it was clean. What I can say is that I wouldn't stay here again. I booked two nights, but cancelled the 2nd after sleeping in my clothes.

"always dependable BW"

As frequent travellers out of IAD, we are happy to have this BW available, close to the airport. Staff at the front desk are patient, efficient and helpful with rapid check in and out. As usual, the rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable; breakfast offers every item anyone could want, whether hot eggs or cold cereal. My family is partial to the hot waffles which we can prepare on the spot. Since our arrival time to the hotel varies a lot, we find the always available coffee a real plus. Speaking of coffee, the in-room preparation is well-stocked, too, with both coffee and a variety of teas. This BW location is close to a little shopping area, but BW's own little shop has food (microwave in the room), beverages and small items that I always need. As a BW member, I even received a small gift bag when I arrived! Best of all is the well-timed shuttle service to the airport! Early or late, the driver is always smiling and ready to help seniors like us with bags. Thanks to BW for always offering valuable, reliable comfort!

Shocked to see coffee maker and ice bucket in shower room. Bedsheets and linens look dirty. Filthy carpet. Cant sleep as you can hear people talking from the adjoining room. Coffee maker and ice bucket in the restroom. Makes me think twice to book another Best Western room if all Best Western places are like this.

There is a big vanity which has everything from coffee maker, ice bucket to all the toiletries. All the coffee cups are factory plastic wrapped. And we do sanitize the place after cleaning. "One night stay"

I stayed here this past Saturday so I could go to the Southern Christmas show. The hotel was clean and the staff was great. Breakfast was good with everything that you normally get at a Best Western The hotel was only a seven minute drive into the main part of Charlotte Considering the price of the hotels downtown this hotel was a bargain Worth the drive!

The hotel in general was clean. Nothing fancy. When we first stepped in from the outside it smelled like cleaning supplies rather than a pleasant aroma. The air quality felt stale in our room and the windows aren't made to open. I really wanted some fresh air. For the price, it served its purpose.

Hello m, my stay at this Best western was outstanding. The staff at the desk and in the breakfast area along with the maid service were all great. The hotel was clean and the rooms inside were as expected. The breakfast was as I always expect from best western...perfect. Why 4 stars? Because the outside appearance and the hotel location weren't deserving of this...but understand, I would not hesitate to stay here again and the price was right.

Nice staff. Clean hotel. Microwave did not work well. Bathroom could have been mopped better. Breakfast was nothing to brag about. But zero bugs.My car was broken into. Even the police in the area advised me to never stay here again due to crime.

Our Hotel is very safe. We have American Airlines pilots and flight attendants staying with us since this Hotel was opened. And you know that they will never stay at a Hotel which is unsafe. I don't know why the cops will say about a business like this. Marriott is in walking distance and Four Points Sheraton is across from us. Many restaurants in walking distance. It was unfortunate that your car was broken into. Please keep away your expensive stuff from site in your car. It is an invitation.Other than yours, there were no other cars were broken into that day. I know it's frustrating. I am sure your insurance will cover the break. This place was old runned down SMELLY nothing worked the toliet flooded the bathtub was clogged and the sink was sluggish and the electrical wiring dor the bathroom light was fried. There were like 3 outlets which 2 didn't work, the TV was old and the color was dull the sheets were nasty.

"Average hotel "

I use best western a lot and found this at a great price lots of parking rooms are large you have king size beds bathroom small. Breakfast wasn't as good as normal I had tried the waffles and very bland unfortunately on the warm side there was omelettes but they were all broken up sausages cut in half. They do have a large fitness room which is nice.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. Our room was spacious and extremely clean. There were many choices for breakfast.The staff was very friendly. They went above and beyond to help us when there was a glitch with our rewards points so that we were able to use a free night. We were in town for a family medical emergency. They let us book extra nights with the understanding that we may need to cancel but we could do so with no penalty. They also allowed us a later check out. We will need to come back to the area and will always stay here. Excellent value for the money.

I had never stayed at a BestWestern before, I was a little scared because I was reading mostly the bad reviews but the Hotel was convenient for me so I took a leap of faith and booked it. #1 I am from a big city where the shuttles pass every 30 mins, be aware that you have to call for it! (Btw, the two drivers were super nice and friendly, I did not catch their names but one was South Asian and the other one Hispanic) #2 they only have one person in the front, so just be patient!!! (Quinn was very nice, friendly and courteous as well and informed me that I can call next time, mention my company and get a discount wooohooo!) #3 Breakfast has a lot of variety, but remember it's a cheap hotel so you will see some not too nice/educated people having breakfast with you, I suggest to take it to your room. #4 The hotel needs some upgrades, from paint to new tubs and tiles... I was happy to see that everything was very clean! #5 I got there late at night (8pm) and left early morning, the area doesn't seem to be good though I went to the Bojangles across the street without a problem, I did not feel safe while doing it tho, be aware of your surroundings! I will definitely use this hotel next time I'm in town :)

Here are my observations. We are loyal Best Western Plus customers. As noted in the reviews, THIS IS NOT A PLUS HOTEL. The survey I submitted (not positive) and the manager's reaction were not satisfactory, neither asked for details. Specific complaints about Charleston Best Western Sterling: no fan - bathroom door handle broken on inside, couldn't move to another room because I used a soap and a hand towel (so, no other soap or towels available?) musty smell lamps broken no cold water in tap dirty breakfast - ALL of the apples had brown spots, all of the bananas were brown The staff was good, the price was good, considering the value for the price. It is close to the airport, which would account for the amount of people there. In summation, I would NOT recommend this particular Best Western.

We stay here when we attend events at the Spectrum Center. Great value for money. Walking distance to train that takes you to Spectrum Center. Rooms are clean, but need a couple of simple fixes. Suggest check shower works when you first get in your room as we didn't find out that ours was not working until the morning and way too late. Staff friendly and polite. Breakfast pretty good. Will continue to stay here when needed.

We normally stay at this hotel 2 times a year at a minimum when we fly out of Charlotte. Normally the room quality is great and the rooms are clean and comfortable. This time we had some inconveniences, as the door to the adjoining room did not seal and we could hear our neighbors singing and talking and we could hear their Tv most of the night. There was a musty smell in the room and although cool air came from the air conditioning unit the room felt a bit sticky. The shuttle to the airport is very convenient, I would take advantage of this again in the future. Our flight left too early to enjoy breakfast, but we were able to grab fruit on our way out of the door.

The hotel is clean and comfortable The internet works well. a few good restaurants within walking distance. I saw a few reviews that said it was dated but I thought it was pretty nice. The bathroom did have what appeared to be original ceramic tile but that's nicer than some of the newer finishes. Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast. the waffle makers worked...

Check in was easy. Lady doing check in was extremely nice. Room was clean. AC did not cool as well as I had hoped. But then again it was 97 outside! Lobby was small and no mention of whether breakfast was serve d. Did not notice any vending machines - only an area where you could pick up supplies. There were no instructions on how to pay and the couple of times I went down, no one was at the desk.

This BW is in a great location and the staff are very friendly and helpful! It is located very close to great parks, pubs, breweries, restaurants and the great neighborhoods in Charlotte. The Billy Graham Library is about 10mins drive. The U.S. National White Water Center is about 25mins (it is an easy drive because you can access the highway without much trouble).

For this class of hotel in the city of Charlotte, you can find a better option. Management needs to install key entry at doors, improve the breakfast "choices", and apply a fresh coat of paint to aging, stained room walls, just to name a few.

Stayed here cause it was right on the metro line to downtown and the south end with a lot of breweries. Price was right and location to the rail great. But keep in mind you're getting a value hotel, so do not expect anything fancy. Hotel is dated and your breakfast is your standard continental breakfast fare. Staff was nice enough but clearly just doing their job, which I cannot fault them for. Overall, if you're not planning on spending a lot of time in your hotel and want to save a little money, this a good place to rest your head.

This hotel needs a hands-on manager to bring this hotel up to acceptable standards. Signs of wear everywhere - tiles in elevator cracked with gaps between them; upholstery on chairs in our room was scratched, stained and badly worn, the suite door (room 306) did not close automatically as fire code requires -- it was stuck on the carpet (swollen floor? ill-fitting door?) When we went to bed, I was unsure if the bed sheets had been changed (wrinkles and a red thread near the pillow) but we were tired and didn't want to make a fuss and ask for fresh sheets. We decided to go to bed instead and we slept well. On the road the next day, however, my friend complained of bites on her arm, neck and face. I had none. We still don't know the cause (bedbugs? hives?). Staff were friendly and the breakfast was fine but the thought that we might be carrying bugs home is a terrible way to end a holiday and -- because of the general sloppy maintenance -- it seems to be a distinct possibility. The bites are red and itchy still,almost 2 days later.

"Nice Hotel with Airport Shuttle and close to Light Rail"

Spent one night at this hotel after arriving in Charlotte airport. The had free shuttle that picked me up and brought to the hotel. Staff was friendly, room was clean and quiet. Hotel close to Nearby Smokehouse with bar and good bbq. Hotel had good breakfast and was across the street from light rail station that I took to downtown for $2.25. Would definitely stay at BW again.

I have been using Trip Advisor for years and have never left a review but I feel it a disservice to not share my experience. Thankfully I always travel with Clorox wipes because I found three hairs on the toilet seat. The sink was also full of hairs and there was paint on the countertop that easily came off with the wipe I used which makes me wonder if they ever clean at all. I am with a bus group and unable to leave or I would not be staying. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. Also the room has a very stale smell. I would strongly suggest you skip this hotel!!

"Terrible. Worst night in a hotel I've ever had."

The room had second hand smoke coming in, was the foulest smelling room, and was surrounded by noisy guests. It took me 3 days to get the smell out of my suitcase and belongings. I left in the middle of the morning (only stayed about 4 hours) because it was so bad. When I went to checkout there was nobody there and so I left my key-card at the front desk. I was so, so looking forward to just getting out of that hotel, and the second I stepped out the front door to finally get some fresh air and spend the rest of the night in my car, I was confronted with a pile of vomit right at the front entrance. Unbelievable. I will never stay at a Best Western again.

Hello Mark, I apologize for the inconvenience you had during your stay. We could have changed your room. We are a 100% non smoking hotel but some people smoke no matter what. We have every guest initial that we will charge them $200 for smoking in the room. But they do it any how and try to get away with it. I apologize for everything you went through. This was a great hotel. The staff was great. Clean super clean rooms, hotel lobby etc. I notice people said location made them uneasy. We walked about 1/2 mile at 1 am in the morning from local restaurant no issues. Don't always believe the bad reviews.

I stayed at this hotel for 13 nights in February 2019 and have nothing but praise for the staff. From the receptionists to the cleaners everyone was very helpful and courteous. The lady who seemed to single handedly run the breakfasts was excellent and could not have been more pleasant and helpful. The room I stayed in was excellent, large and very comfortable with plenty of pillows on the best. The room was warm and had a heater that could be adjusted and turned off or on. The rooms hard an iron and ironing board which was great for me. On my last day the hotel had a free transport service to the nearby airport. Overall a great stay and would definitely have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others.

We came early and left early breakfast was ready and many places to choose from in the area for lunch and dinner highly recommend friends and family to stay here when visiting the Charlotte area shopping is near by and the and the theme park Carowinds is nearby also

"Sleepless night"

This place seemed ok when checking in, but travelling solo at this hotel was a left me a bit uneasy. It was very loud and you could hear ever door close and open. Also the garbage truck was making tons of noise at 3am and lots of banging. The shower was kind of clogged and no complimentary water in the room. Pretty basic. There was also a door between rooms... The best thing about this place was the complimentary breakfast with lots of hot options and the direct shuttle to airport.

Clean and comfy bed. I will definitely stay here again. I was not expecting this Gem for the price I had booked it for. Would certainly recommend this hotel to family and friends. It's not to far from the airport.

"Disappointment after Disappointment"

Disappointment after Disappointment Rewards member for several years. Why bother, it doesn't mean anything. I requested an upper floor, as I always do. I got 101. This room is as far from the lobby as possible and next to the maid closet and/or thier smoking lounge. The maids yak outside my door up to until the time they go home for the day. At check-in, I see a condom wrapper on the floor. Still there on Day 3 even after I put the non-functioning alarm clock right next to it. Don't you think the housekeeper should have fixed the clock and by default see the condom wrapper? No. Classic "not my job" mentality. Tip: Non-existent. I suppose they wonder why. I'm in "the business" and usually tip. Day one; check-in. Not happy with first floor but at least it's in the back and nobody is going to sit outside with thier headlights on. Immediatly notice the stain on the sheet (Pictured). It didn't look fresh so I didn't bother. Noisy neighbors, blasting Guns N Roses. No worries, I'm far from them but as soon as you entire the hallway, Welcome to the Jungle. Realized I can't walk around with bare feet. Stepping into the shower after only an hour or two, the water in the shower quickly turned black. Day two; The stained sheet was replaced as was all the hotel-supplied soap and shampoo. Condom wrapper still there. I mark the sheets to test whether they've been changed or not going forward. (small pencil mark near a seam but not to be noticed by anyone other than me.) Day three; I notice a hair in the tub. Looks about 8 or 9 inches long; black. I cut my own hair using a #2 guard (1/4-inch?). Not mine. Gross. I return home from my day and sheets not changed at all but this is not a problem. Same soap and shampoo as well. I willingly reuse towels more than once and do my part to save the planet. What is the standard for this property? Condom wrapper still there with the clock. I get back around 7 after dinner and there's music booming in the back of the hotel. Even over the TV, it's constant and annoying. I pull a tissue from the dispenser and, voila!, it's empty. I have to get dressed and hall my butt to the front desk to get more. They don't have any, so they send someone for them and I meet him and say thank you. The Boom-Boom-Boom of whatever is still behind the hotel and I go to the front desk again around 9PM. We can actually hear (sense) the Boom-Boom-Boom there too! He thinks there's a restaurant back there but not sure. He checks with a group using a meeting room but it's not them. By the time we get back to my room, it stops. I told him then how disappointed I am. I pointed out the condom wrapper and told him how I put the clock there so the housekeepere would pay attention. He picked up the condom wrapper but the clock is still there, on the floor, not telling time. Increasingly disappointed by the hour. Day four: I return from my seminars and find the front desk agent out front, smoking as usual. I thank him for calmly accepting my criticism from last night. I know I can be demanding and he was cool as a cucumber. Not very professional, but calm. He asked if I switched rooms and I explained I didn't have time for that. So, for the room, sheets not changed, soaps not changed; still no problem. I just question the standards. These should all be changed tomorrow, right? Oh, clock is still on the floor. Also, really tired of the staff yacking outside my door in the morning. I can't even sleep until my alarm goes off. They woke me up over an hour earlier than I wanted. I am a Best Western rewards member. It's not the greatest hotel chain, but my experience has shown it to be affordable and decent. This place falls far short of my other experiences. The breakfast served daily was as good as any other Best Western hotel that I've stayed. Of course, it's not great, but it's acceptable and included in an alreay-good room rate. I paid $90 per night which was cheap for the area.

We have fired the girl who used to clean the room since we were having problems with her in other rooms as well. We could have changed your room to another at a higher place. You didn't had to wait till the fourth day to tell the front desk agent regarding the wrapper. I wouldn't have stayed in the room for four days. "Best hotel outside uptown"

The hotel is at a distance of 10 minutes outside the uptown. We stayed here for 3 nights from the 6th November 2018 in room number 232. There were two queen beds for 3 persons of us. There was a decent view of highway, running train, car parking lot and fall foliage through the wide window. I found the room spacious and comfortable. There was a table where we worked with laptop.The room was neat and clean. Room service men are doing a good job. The bed and linen were spotless. The bathroom was large. Towels and toiletries were very good. The complimentary breakfast was adequate. We certainly enjoyed the hot breakfast here. The lady was always eager to supply hot waffle. I took sausage, cheese omelette, bread and fruits. Hot coffee, tea and fruit juice were readily available. In the room, there was a refrigerator and was also a microwave oven. Coffee maker was also available in the room. There was no problem of car parking in this hotel. The WiFi was speedy. Sleep quality was awesome. There are many restaurants around this hotel for lunch and dinner. We went to a Mexican Restaurant nearby. The manager Mr. Sunny Singh is a very nice person. Once he had lived in my city Kolkata in India and is still very well conversant in my mother-language Bengali. So I was very happy to talk with him. We were very pleased with his sweet behavior. The house keeping in-charge Ms. Nazneen is a very pleasant and well behaved person. We were also very glad to talk with her. In this hotel, we got so warm and friendly reception from the employees that we were overwhelmed. Mr. Sunny Singh takes care of the hotel and the guests personally.

Mostly run down hotel needs help fast its falling apart , Hallways and room carpets are Undesirably dirty and need replacement , Front desk clerk was somewhat rude and unfriendly claimed they were sold out . i had spoken to the manager Sonny just prior to arriving and he assured me a room front desk clerk ignored me and continued talking on his cell phone to a friend until i walked off stating i'm going to call Sonny, Miraculously a room became avail and he checked me in , Not the worst experience i've encountered but undesirable non the less

We only stayed one night which was too long. The bathtub had a very noticeable water dripping issue. The table by the window was infested with ants. When these issues were brought up at checkout we weren't offered anything more then a half hearted apology. As we didn't notice the ants until the morning our bag was crawling with them. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything! The beds are hard and creaky. The air conditioner is VERY loud. In all they should shut down and address all the issues.

"Decent hotel but outdated"

We stayed here because we missed a connecting flight. We're also rewards members with Best Western so usually, we know what to expect. Not so in this case. This hotel does not live up to the Best Western name and standard of excellence. Friendly staff at check in but around 5-6 staff around the desk at check out the next day and they all ignored me so I just put the room card on the counter and left. Walls are thin - I could hear the people below arguing and the people across the hallway. Carpets need to be replaced. Beds were dismal - creaky, uncomfortable and in need of replacing. When it comes to Best Westerns, this one misses the mark and does not seem like a true Best Western.

"Good Hotel"

I've got to be honest. This was my first stop a week long vacation. I don't remember much about this hotel. I don't remember it being good nor bad. The only thing that I really remember is that they didn't let me check in early, which is understandable. I didn't like that it was right of a big street, because getting out of the parking lot was a pain.

Great value and close to airport... it's my go to hotel when flying in and have to spend the night or two... rooms are clean and staff is friendly. Plenty to walk to to eat, airport shuttle runs 24hrs and a quick hope to airport. This is a hidden treasure kinda hate to share but family friendly... good safe bet...

The people who work at this hotel were very nice. The owner needs to update the inside structure and decor of this hotel. The beds were not very comfortable. The sheets are clean, but the bed does not have enough cushion..

We took a chance on staying somewhere on no notice, close to the highway. We were pleasantly surprised with how good this was. To begin with, the lady that served us was lovely with great advice, our room was comfortable and appropriate for the cost, our inclusive breakfast was magnificent and the resident cook was also very friendly. Would have received 5 stars if not for the very noisy aircon in our room. Unfortunately we had a choice of being very hot or having a noisey aircon going. Certainly not the end of the world and would recommend to anyone travelling through looking for friendly staff and an easy place to stay.

"Not what you would expect"

The staff itself was friendly but we experienced so many issues. First we had a Fedex package delivered and upon check in I was told my name was not on the package so it could not be released to me. Then I was told that I could go to the Fedex office on the second floor on Saturday at 8am. I explained that my name has to be on the package I have a copy of the receipt. I also explained that I cannot wait until the morning that it was very important I have it that night. The manager said she would speak with Fedex and call me and you know what happens, no call!! Next day even though it was now too late for the package to be useful, I went to Fedex and nobody was there. I go back to the front desk they get in touch with Fedex they bring the package down and who's name is on the guessed it mine. Some folks just don't want to do their jobs including the manager! To top it off the air conditioning, when it's 90 and humid doesn't work in our room and we cannot be moved. Oh and at 7:15am on Monday we are woken up by the window cleaners banging our windows. You really cannot make this stuff up. I wouldn't stay here again if the room was free.

Front desk personnel very friendly and helpful, especially telling us about Carolina Prime Steakhouse practically across the street. Hairdryer had been stolen by previous room occupants--housekeeping should have caught this when they cleaned the room after them. When we sat on the old, tiny, short toilet, the lid hit us on our backs. Old bathtub and faucet (that dripped) but new showerhead. Breakfast food was cheap--generic cereals, thin bacon, tasteless "omelets", greasy pastries.

Stayed here for a few nights during moving and it was nice and quiet. I have stayed here several times as it was a USAirways employee hotel, but it has been a few years since the last visit. Rooms were clean and check in was quick and easy. We had to add another room last minute and they were able to accomodate us no problem! Walking distance to a BBQ and Mexican restaurant. We ended up walking over to the Blue Line to go Uptown. Not the best area, but we felt pretty safe leaving our Uhaul in the parking lot outside our room.

Was attending a conference downtown Sheraton but didn't want to pay big bucks out of my own pocket for an extra night. BW has a free airport shuttle but it took over 30 minutes for it to get there and it was over 90 degrees that night. Room was fine and the price was right. Breakfast was pretty good with premade omelets (however some were cold), waffles, hard boiled eggs and the usual items. Hotel is about a block to the Blue Line which took me downtown and back for $2.20 for the senior fare. Train runs every 20 minutes in the evening. Went to Epicenter which was feet from the Transit Center stop.

This motel deserves about a C+. Reasonable rate, close to the airport. Clean room. Fairly quiet. As we did not leave our room until the afternoon, it was never cleaned. When we returned in the evening, we called the desk for some clean towels. No apologies were offered. After 10 min., my husband went to the front desk and was handed a bag of clean 2 bath towels and 2 wash cloths. Can't recommend this motel to anyone who wants better service.

My second visit to Charlotte, the first time I lodged in the city centre and was a bit disappointed. So this time I decided to have an hotel closer to the airport, but with an easy connection to my conference. With that in mind, this hotel was a good choice: free shuttle from airport (but you have to phone to be picked up, they do not circulate on a systematic basis like larger hotels), free decent breakfast, large confortable rooms (which need however a bit refurbishment), very close to the Lynx train line, several restaurants in the vicinity, friendly desk service, very good price. What can be easily improved: add a laundry service.

I went to Charlotte, NC for a class in immunization to become certified to immunize. My husband accompanied me. The hotel where we stayed was a couple of miles from where I had my class. The hotel was okay. The breakfast was terrible that they offered. The hotel is a couple of miles from the Billy Graham Library where he was buried. The hotel could have been nicer for the price we paid.

We did have an issue with being picked up when we got back, because we did not know where to wait. We thought we were at the right place, but a security person we were supposed to be at another island that was marked B. We missed the pick up and took a cab.

Needed a bed for the night when stopping over in Charlotte. Chose the Best Western as it included breakfast, had free transfers to/from the airport and advertised a restaurant. We had to wait an hour for the airport transfer bus and the restaurant was just a breakfast room so as we didn't have a car we had to eat from the fast food chicken joint across the street. The breakfast was OK but nothing special.

We were in town for two nights for a function at the Convention Center. Wanted to stay in town, but the prices of the hotels were out of sight. Started looking for a place that was close to the Lynx Rail Line so we could just hop on and off at the Convention Center. This was the place! Rates were half of in town hotels! Walked out the door and about one block to jump on the train and we were taken to the door of the Convention Center! Free parking at this hotel (all in town hotels charge for parking), and several restaurant choices are also easily walk able from this place (and all Uptown is available to you with a short hop on the train ride)! Okay free breakfast in the morning, with bacon, eggs and sausage, along with waffles, etc. Good enough. Nice staff working here and it appears many airline pilots and attendants stay here too.

Nice hotel, although it was advertised as being near the airport, but it took me 20 minutes driving to get there. It is near to the interstate, though. It is a typical BW hotel. The breakfast was okay, although the triangles presented as omelet left a lot to be desired.

"Great Value"

Great value and location. I enjoyed the coffee and the breakfast items I ate. Due to the location I heard a little noise from outside, but it wasn't interrupting my sleep. I only interacted with the staff at check-in and she was efficient, helpful, and courteous with a smile. I chose a flexible rate thinking I could change my reservation up until 6pm but when I tried discovered I couldn't. That wasn't a big deal for me this time, but I do need to understand what "flexible rate" means for future stays.

We were seeing a show downtown, and couldn't afford the prices to stay nearby, due to ACC championship game. Stayed here much cheaper, and rode the train downtown and back, as this is right near the station. The room was clean, and hotel well kept. Full breakfast the next morning, with wonderful coffee. Will stay here again to save vs. staying downtown.

I like this hotel. It's close to where I had meetings, and that's a plus. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the area. The hotel is in a very busy area of Charlotte, with lots of things nearby like restaurants, you can even walk to some of them. Shopping is a couple miles away.

"Excellent option for downtown Charlotte events!"

Great choice! Nice for the money and location location location! Many restaurants and shopping in walking distance, but the best part is the Woodlawn train station just a block away! My daughter and I hopped on the train and were let off literally at the door of the Spectrum Center! Easiest concert I ever went to. Great little snack shop in the lobby. Free breakfast. Clean. What more could you ask without paying uptown prices??

"Needs a makeover"

I have stayed at 3 BW's in the last 3 nights. This one is one I could pass on next time. The chair in the room had some funky unknown stain on it. It was hard not to miss. The desk chair was kinda of wierd also. Rest of the room was OK. Pretty noisy overall. When we checked in they were power washing the parking lot next door. This was at 10pm. A lot of noise in the hallway all night.

"A Rough Start"

I booked off BW app but on arrival staff could not find my reservation. Although it showed a confirmation the email confirmation did not come in a timely manner. After I called the 800# customer service line the onsite staff did find the reservation and said for some reason it was under my first name. Although there were rooms available I was hesitant to book and worried I would get charged for 2 rooms since the staff implied I must have a reservation at another BW property. On arrival we found the lobby noisy music playing loudly somewhere and smoky smell due to people smoking outside the front door. If we hadn't been so tired from driving from PA that day we would have gone somewhere else. In the end though the stay was ok. We were given handicapped room on the first floor and it was comfortable. The hotel does need some modernizing and maintenance. There were 2 shower heads and 1 was a handheld which needs repair. Water spurts out where hose is attached. The small fridge "ticks" which really bothered my husband. The room was clean and the linens were clean and soft, the bed was decent. The walls are thin and I could hear people talking from inside the room and in the hall you could hear people talking inside the rooms. The complimentary breakfast included the usual waffle maker which does make perfect belgium waffles. There are fresh juices, cereals, packaged boiled eggs. There were omelets and sausage neither were tasty in my opinion. Apples and oranges in a bowl. Quality of food was not as good as the BW property we stayed in the previous night. The food service person was busy and quickly removing plates and stocking. We ate dinner at the Azteca Mexican restaurant a block away. It was very good. We walked which you may not want to do. I did see a numbers of syringes on the ground at the bus stop.

On the way down to Florida from Canada, we stopped in Charlotte at this hotel because it was close to hwy I-77. Although it was branded as a BW Plus, we found it ordinary compared to some other BW hotels, but the room was correct and the bed very comfortable. breakfast was also very good.

"Visiting the Queen City"

This hotel is in an excellent location just south of downtown Charlotte. Close to highways, airport, public transit, great restaurants with an easy trek to downtown Charlotte. We could park at the hotel and take the CATS transit to downtown or simply walk across the street to several restaurants. A convenience we appreciated.

In the room I was in... the bathroom needed some attention. The toilet seat was broken! If anyone had cleaned the toilet it would be obvious that the seat was broken. "Dedicated staff - affordable price"

Rooms are very clean and staff is responsive and friendly. The hotel is centrally located. Easy access to airport and south end. The facility is older and price attracts a mixed crowd of folks who were staying. We were there during the summer and it was quieter. We also stayed in October during race weekend and it was busy.

"Great value"

Although the hotel is not in the downtown area, it punched way above its weight in value. Nothing fancy, but the clean, cosy rooms were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, providing us with tips on how to get downtown and where was the best place to order from for late night pizza. Although it's more of an airport hotel, the downtown was easily accessible by car, just a short hop off and on the interstate, or by light rail, which we could catch just across the street. If you want to save money but still be able to access everything downtown Charlotte has to offer, I would highly recommend this hotel.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I stayed at Best Western after my trip to Carowinds. The room didn't have many seating options other than the bed but the bed was very comfy. I was quite pleased with the cleanliness of the room and bathroom! I also appreciated that the checkout time was not until noon. The breakfast was pretty good. I should've gotten a waffle! Thank you Best Western. If I am in the area again I'll definitely consider staying there again.

Booked the room 6 days in advance. Chose this hotel because of the rate and the glowing reviews. In my personal opinion the previous reviews must have been posted by friends or family of the hotel owners/management. This Best Western is NOT as good as it reads....... Upon booking I requested a quite room away from other guests. I again repeated my request at check in. I was placed 2-3 doors down from the elevator, ice machine and non working laundry room. Every room around me was occupied, TV's blaring, doors slamming and people up and down the hall constantly. Even individuals riding there bikes. Yep! Bike riding adults! :-0 1st attempt at calling the front desk, phone in room did not work. 2nd attempt, Sorry we are booked solid we can not accommodate your request. You should have stated this at check in when I again asked for a quite room away from others. It was well before 6pm I could have went to another hotel. I was told......"You have to cancel 24 hours in advance so you would have had to pay full price anyway". GREAT customer service right there!! Breakfast, if you are looking for a waffle, yogurt and coffee, you are good to go. Anything else and forget it! They put out what they have when breakfast begins. Once it is gone it is gone. This includes coffee cup lids. Many other issues as well but I think you get the idea. DO NOT stay here!!! Pay a little bit more and you will have a MUCH better stay somewhere else! Even after speaking with the front desk shortly after check in, who stated she would speak with management about my concerns, I was not given any reduction in my bill.

Hello Todie126, First, let me apologize for the inconvenience you had during your stay at our Hotel with the noise. Let me tell you that there is a BMX convention/match going on in the city. That's why you see all the people with bikes. All the Hotels in the surrounding area were booked up and would have surprised if any hotels have quiet rooms or any rooms available. Our breakfast is great with some hot items. There are two kinds of bread, danish, twirl, two kinds of milk plus Soy milk, three kinds of cereal plus Gluten free cereal. Bacon, Sausage patties and cheese omelettes and boiled eggs. Lots of condiments. You can make your own sandwitch with bread, cheese, omelettes and condiments. We also have different types of oats. Two kinds of Columbian Coffee with honey, sugar, half and half and non dairy vanilla creamers. Three kinds of juice. Fresh apples, oranges and bananas. And just to let you know that all of the above is free of cost. I must be forgetting some other things in breakfast. But please visit us again. "No Pampering Here"

Checked in on Wednesday and out on Saturday. Our room was never made up. We were out of the room by 9:00am on Thursday and returned at 8:00pm to an unkempt room. Friday we were out of the room by 8:00am, returned at 1:30 to a still messy room. At 2:30 the maid knocked on the door but I couldn't communicate with her. Asked her for fresh towels but she said she didn't have any. Picked up towels later at front desk. Told the hostess at the desk we didn't have our room serviced for the second time and she just said, "Really?" without any apologies.

Stayed here overnight on trip to Georgia. The hotel appears to have recently undergone renovations. The lobby is very inviting. Check in was quick and efficient. I had a king room which was very nice, good nice bathroom and overall very clean. The wifi was good and the desk had sufficient outlets to handle my electronics (phone, tablet, laptop). The bed was very comfortable. The only negatives about the room was that at about 3:00 am a noisy group of people were in the hallway talking and slamming doors. Also, it would be helpful if they had a television guide in the room. Breakfast was your standard egg pucks, waffles, sausage, bacon, etc. Overall a decent place for a night and would stay again.

This hotel was clean and has personable people manning the front desk. The room chairs were a bit worn but the rest of the room was great. Some herbal tea bags would have been great to have in the "coffee" basket - Just a suggestion :) - The AC filters need to be changed or cleaned (stale air output) but all in all - I definitely would stay here again.

The room had no plugs on the wall where the beds were, no way to plug in lamp or alarm clock. The air conditioner was blowing on us all night. We found garbage behind (an airplane bottle of booze and wrappers) a chair while looking for plugs. We had no towels in the room and it took 30 minutes to get them, they said they were still in the dryer. The bathroom was outdated. However, the front desk staff are very friendly and kind.

"Great hotel with friendly staff"

We have stayed at this hotel over the years when traveling back from Europe and traveling North and South Carolina. At the front desk, Jessica and Cassandra, provide a warm welcome. Rooms are very clean and well appointed with comfortable beds, free wifi and a nice work desk. Shuttle drivers to and from airport are always helpful and cordial. Breakfast is included in the room rate--yogurt, juice, coffee, bagels and toast, waffles. It's close to a good Mexican restaurant, Azteca, as well as several other restaurants. The hotel gets a thumbs up from us--again and again.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, free shuttle to airport. We had a great experience at this hotel.. the breakfast was very good and the beds where extremely comfortable. Thank you best western for always making my trips as if I haven't left home!!

"Great affordable choice with light rail access"

Stayed here for 6 nights while attending a conference in the Charlotte Convention Centre. The hotels in the downtown area near the convention centre were all quite expensive and hence chose this. Did not regret this decision at all. A 5 minutes walk from the hotel and the Lynx Blue line takes you straight to the convention centre in 10 min. The hotel is located in a nice area with convenience stores and a few restaurants nearby. Check in was smooth and so was the pick-up and drop (complimentary) from the airport. After you land, just call up the hotel and they will arrange your pick up from the airport. My room was on the 3rd floor. Room was clean and has all the necessary amenities including a microwave and an iron. Since it was quite hot in Charlotte during my stay, I had to use the air conditioner. The air conditioner made a lot of noise, so much that I had to shut it down in the middle of the night. Complimentary breakfast is served in the lobby level. The breakfast area is quite small and with the hotel sold out to delegates attending the conference, it was difficult to find a place to sit during peak breakfast times. But the breakfast spread was good, a waffle maker is available too.

"great choice near everything"

This hotel was clean and had great staff. The breakfast was good and the beds were very comfy. Restaurants were close and close to everything. Love the new flooring and updated items in the rooms.. Keep up the great work you guys

Great value for the money, clean room, good breakfast great location near airport. I have been staying here for almost 10 years and watched constant improvements made under Sonny's ownership. A clean, modern efficient property with helpful staff. The proximity of the Woodlawn "CATS" light rail station, makes it possible to stay at this hotel for one third the price of staying downtown, leave your car in their safe, lighted parking lot, and ride downtown on the train for $4 (round trip) to attend ball games, concerts, nightlife, etc. Also close to airport & Billy Graham expy for quick access to I-85 for heading home.

We had everything we needed. Nice, clean hotel. Breakfast and coffee good. I missed having an indoor pool, though. They had a very nice little TV room with comfy furniture. Very quiet when we were here. We were with a bus trip. They had a nice little store with gum and water and some supplies you might need to purchase.

"Disappointed traveller"

As loyal BW travellers commuting between FL and Canada annually, we were most disappointed with this location. The room smelled, the bathroom was completely unacceptable (dirt ceiling tiles, paint name a few), and dirty carpets. Overall, hotel rooms in desparate need of serious refurbishin. This location is scratched off our list of places to stay during our 4000km commute.

"Great Value!"

We stayed at this hotel for one night to attend the Neil Diamond concert in town. The hotel offers great value with a mini fridge and microwave in the room. It also offers breakfast in our room rate. The breakfast is basic but seems to have everything that we want including a self-made waffle making machine! Best of all is that the LYNX light rail subway station is around the corner of this hotel and within a 5 min walk. We could then avoid the traffic and parking headache in downtown Charlotte.

Had to stay here for a wedding, did not like the location, and there was no outside amenities with such beautiful weather in NC! Lots of shopping, but did not like the neighborhood, homeless people etc.

The accommodation was good but their beds need to be a little more comfortable. Redo their toilets for adults. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Checking in was a slow process and checking out was fast. My daughter left her laptop cord in the room and the staff stated that they would put it up for her, but when my daughter tried to call and let them know that she was coming to get it, they wouldn't answer their phone.

"Nice Hotel"

Stayed here so we could catch an early flight. Staff was very helpful, even making arrangements for a very early airport shuttle. The check in people were very helpful. The early morning person even got us some food from the breakfast area as we were leaving before it opened. This is very typical of Best Western hospitality. That is why we often stay at a Best Western.

"Not for Elite Members"

As a Platinum, almost Diamond, member I would have expected better service. 30 minutes to check in, rooms are not Best Western quality and I was ignored when I asked for an upgrade. In fact, I was moved from the first floor to the third floor when I asked thinking I was upgraded. To my surprise I was not. What made it worse was the elevator was out of service all weekend and the stairs were outside.

"forgotten bag"

"Delightfully Surprised"

All of the usual hotels were booked solid due to the DNC visit prior to the election. So I ended up here as a result. I was delightfully surprised at the accommodations and will use this facility in lieu of a smelly Hampton Inn just down the road in Monroe. Having the ability to stay in a $200+ a night room and settling for this place was in no way, "Settling for anything less." The breakfast wasn't anything special but I don't stay in Hotels for their free breakfast. The only complaint I have was the wall in the bathroom had some moisture damage and the paint was peeling off of it near the floor. Otherwise, it would have gotten a 5. Never expected to say I will stay at a BW again! Must be the "Plus" in the name that made it so good.

"Ummmm, Iffy"

I must say that I chose this hotel because it was close to the airport for a morning flight. That was the good part. Otherwise--the room just smelled SO strongly of cleaning chemicals. There was no way to open a window and it was very overwhelming. When we were checking in, the front desk person never got off the phone, and pointed me in the direction I was supposed to go. Also she scribbled the wifi password down on the key card holder. I tried the password-which did not work and went down to the front desk to inquire. Well, silly me-didn't I know it was all one case and not the other??? Maybe she should have written it correctly for me at the beginning. Also, I was not comfortable with the outside area of the hotel. As we brought our car to the front office entrance, we were immediately confronted with a vagrant wanting to "help" us with our belongings. Ummmm, not good. Just watch yourselves.....

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. It is near to the interstate and the family members that we were visiting. The staff was helpful and pleasant. "worst hotel on my vacation..."

The only good thing I have to say about this hotel is that it was clean. The TV in the room didn't come in good and it seemed like the TV was going out. The deadbolt on our door wouldnt lock. We called and had maintence come to fix it but they ended up not fixing anything or giving us any sort of discount. Hotel also was really run down on the inside. At 1am the fire alarm went off and we all had to exit the building and 8 fire trucks showed up with no sign of a fire. We had to stand outside for over 30min. There was no fire in the first place. Not impressed with this hotel.

"Handy for downtown Charlotte"

We spent three nights at this hotel, while visiting Charlotte and attending a Panthers game. We arrived not long after 9am, way ahead of the scheduled check-in time, expecting to drop our luggage before heading out for the day, but our room was ready, so we were able to get straight in. I had arranged for a parcel to be sent to the hotel, and it was there waiting for me. Coffee is available in the breakfast area at all times. The lift was out of order, but we still agreed to take a room on the upstairs floor, so we had to take our luggage up the back stairs, past the housekeeping area. We had to walk in and out this way throughout our stay. The room was large and comfortable with a big TV. The bathroom was a comfortable size. The breakfast area was a little small for the number of guests, but was kept pretty well stocked. The hotel's location is great, just a short walk from the light rail station which goes directly into Charlotte. Make sure you buy tickets for the rail - ticket inspectors board regularly. This hotel has free parking. It was good value for money, and I would consider staying here again if I was visiting Charlotte.

"No way this is a "plus" property"

Being a Diamond Elite member,I can easily compare best western properties. This one is the worst I have stayed at. I booked three nights at three separate properties for a college trip, this one being the first. When we arrived at the hotel, we were approached by two different homeless people asking for money. We had a hard time finding a parking space in the hotel lot, because it was full. We came to the property two days after hurricane matthew was on the coast, so I guess the hotel was fully booked because of that. We waited about 30 minutes to check in. There was one person working the front desk, and about 12 customers ahead of us to check in. The lobby was tacky with a fountain that featured fiber optic lights. When it came time to check in, I was not welcomed as a special guest in any way. I was asked for my credit card and license and given a form to fill out in case I had charges that my points would not cover. I requested a room on an upper floor at time of booking several months ago because my daughter has severe mold allergies,but was told there were no rooms available except for one a few doors down from the "lobby" on the first floor. We got what we expected..a room that absolutely made us gag from must.mold etc. I turned on the a/c and tried to open a window,but the windows do not open.The tub floor was dirty. Noisy outside our room all night.I had to call the front desk for a wifi password (they finally picked up after about 20 rings).I was DOUBLE charged my points for one night stay. After this terrible experience, I decided to cancel my existing other two reservations for the other properties on our trip, and book with another hotel chain. The other properties (Executive Inn in Seneca SC and the other one in Athens,GA) had worse reviews than this one so I couldnt take any chances. I would have walked out of the hotel and booked another in town if I had the chance..with the storm I doubted I would find availability at the very last moment and we were too tired from our flight and needed sleep for the long drive to our college tour the next morning. I was so disappointed by this hotel and feel management has to do something to earn my trust back as a diamond elite member.

"Rainy weekend getaway"

We came into town for a friends wedding and I felt so at home at this hotel! We got in late due to the weather and traffic and when we finally got to check in we were greeted by Cassandra, she was so pleasant and made checking in really easy. The rooms were clean and had a mini fridge and microwave, my favorite part though was the entire wall of windows and the extra mirrors in the room itself not just in the bathroom (they came in handy when we needed to get ready the next morning). Everyone we encountered was super nice (Janet during night audit and Narzeen(?) at check out). We will be staying here next time we are in Charlotte and I will be recommending it to everyone.

Front desk super nice. Staff held doors open for me as I went back and forth with luggage. Staying there now. King room very nice and roomy. Bathroom big! Super clean, new carpet (it appears new) and desk is also roomy. I have to work during the week in Charlotte for a few weeks and this will make my life easier. And coffee was HOT and waiting in the lobby! I also saw Lipton Tea which for us tea drinkers is also a pleasure to find. Only item I would like to see is a sheet of nearby restaurants and coffee shops etc. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel!

The staff was very nice in the hotel, but I got a room next to the elevator which was very busy and noisy all night. The hotel rooms are very small and not cosy. The lobby is very small. The breakfast is usual.

"Just the facts"

Strictly observations: Elevators were out of service - did request a room on the ground floor and it was granted. The work out room was closed and appeared to be under renovation. The side doors were not very secure as a towel was being used too keep it from locking (see pic). Cigarette butts all over the ground. (see pic). Most staff were pleasant, one was seen openly sleeping in the shuttle bus directly in front of the entrance. The same sheetrock debris on the floor of the main hallway was still there the next day. The tub did not drain well causing you to shower in standing water. AC unit was extremely loud. Cars were parked under the canopy and all across the front entrance which made check in a longer walk from the parking area. Otherwise.. the coffee was hot.

"Broken elevator, truck broken into...stay at another hotel"

Stayed at this hotel last week for 1 night. The elevator was broken and the front desk staff said it had been broken all week. Seedy area and the doors that should be locked were propped open. My truck and my co-workers truck windows were smashed out and tools stolen. The hotel could care less. Seems it happens all the time. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!

"Do Yourself A Favor, Stay At Another Hotel"

Can't understand who certified this hotel as a Best Western "Plus" property. Seedy characters hang out in the parking lot, breakfast was unappealing, people smoked in the stairwells, doors which should have been locked were propped open. Staff seemed indifferent or poorly trained. Hotel website indicates a affiliation with "Golds Gym" but when my co worker inquired about a guest pass, front desk clerk indicated " They haven't been affiliated with Golds Gym in over 10 years"

Great for travelers en route. Clean room, well designed space, efficient for sharing. The hotel does not provide furniture that an en route traveler does not need (such as a dresser) but a desk/table was provided as well as an ample mini fridge. The sink/mirror area were outside of the bathroom which allowed for two or more to be getting ready at the same time. Everything was very clean and everything worked well.

"Clean, Quiet and Comfortable Room"

We enjoyed our clean and comfortable room, especially our spacious refrigerator, the large desk for our work, and nice seating area. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had to take an online course the first day while my husband participated in a conference. I enjoyed having coffee from the coffee maker in the room and fast internet while I worked. The convenient location made it easy to use the public transportation system, and the area was quiet at night. No complaints.

Stayed here for two days while visiting NASCAR and Carowinds. Rooms where clean, breakfast was good. Enough free parking in front of the hotel. The hotel is situated conveniently next to the highway. A tram line to the city centre is nearby, but we haven't used that. Would I stay here again? Yes I would

My room was in front of the elevator and the ice machine. Elevator is not too noisy, but the ice machine: horrible. I requested another room, and it was accepted, as if they have known the problem. My second night was nice.

We stayed here to be close to our grandsons swim meet in Huntersville Fitness and Aquatic Club. A very nice little hotel. Kati at the reception on checkin was great. She was professional, friendly and helpful. We had a pet friendly room. Room was clean and neat and well appointed. The hotel was exactly what we were looking for on tis trip!

Bed was terrible. It was so hard I had to try to place pillows under me to sleep. THe ice machine was so loud I heard it all night long. The bathroom toilet wasn't clean. There was urine down the side of the toilet. The clerk at the desk did not care about my problems.

While the staff, breakfast and fitness center were good, the room furniture and room appearance need to be updated. The chairs had stains. Some laps needed repair. The bathroom while adequate could have a face lift.

I stayed in this hotel one night. On my floor #3 there was a very strong odor of marihuana (weed) coming from one of the rooms that infected the whole floor. Other than that the room was clean. The staff does not look on point but willing to help once you get there attention.

Great Hotel near the Charlotte area. The hotel was clean and, overall, very nice to stay at. We were there only for a night. Seems like a lot of pilot and flight attendant stay there. Breakfast had a variety of option, and it was fresh.

Hotel was a good value. It is located in a very busy intersection but a good location for visiting family on Park Road. Hotel is dated but very clean. Water pressure good in shower. My TV reception was snowy--all channels! When I called the front desk I received the answer "No one else has reported a problem". My only thought was "lucky me, then". However, I was given a small discount off the room by the front desk attendant which was appreciated but I would have preferred to have watched my sports show with HD quality.

The customer service was great. I don't have any complaints. I do wish the walls was thicker because I could hear the people next door to me conversation. If you need to go downtown and don't want to drive there is a train shuttle across the street from the hotel that is free to ride.

My husband and I were visiting Charlotte. The Best Western was in the perfect location but with mixed reviews we were hesitant. It was only for one night so, what the heck. To our surprise the hotel was pretty nice, the bathroom tub showed some age but it was clean and the water was hot. We were on the first floor, close to the lobby. We woke to conversations from the breakfast bar and a coach bus running as a talkative group loaded on the bus outside our window. I would stay here again but definitely not on the first floor.

The hotel is very convenient to the airport and downtown. The staff at the hotel desk were friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean, the breakfast was excellent, and our room was wonderful. My only reasons for giving a 4 instead of a 5 was the mattress was very firm, and their outside doors weren't equipped with a card reader and were propped opened making me feel a little unsecured.

Best Western Plus in Charlotte has beautiful rooms, that are roomy and comfortable. Everything was really clean. The lobby was very pretty and the breakfast was extremely good. Enjoyed the stay. Will stay here again when we return to Charlotte.

The hotel is located near the Charlotte airport, on a busy street. As we checked in, so did an airplane pilot, confirming that flight crews stay at this hotel. The hotel is elderly, the day was quite warm, and the air conditioning was very noisy. You cannot open the windows for ventilation, but must rely on the AC. The toilet "ghost flushed" periodically, so the AC and the toilet made for a night with very little sleep. Also, no hair conditioner was provided in the bathroom, a rare occurrence. However, the location is convenient to the light rail system, making it easy to get into "Uptown" for shows, etc. There are a variety of restaurants in the area, but the area seems older and worn, just like the hotel. Breakfast was fine. The usual selection of eggs, bacon, yogurt and breads, along with juices, fruit and make your own waffles was available.

"Best Western Redeems Themselves After Radford, VA's Debacle"

The night before at Radford's Best Western was abysmal. It was a cheap, smelly, uncomfortable, and restless experience that left a terrible taste in my mouth. I turned up at the season pass photo booth at Carowinds the next day looking like I'd barely survived a party at a Motley Crue member's house. Nonetheless, I remained resolute that my experience at this Best Western Plus would be a dramatic improvement. I'm happy to report my faith was rewarded. When I checked in, the woman who greeted me was friendly and courteous, and was happy to honor the Best Western rewards card number off of my phone to knock an extra ten dollars off of my stay. A good start, I reckoned. I was greeted by no unpleasant smells or odors walking down the hallways, and my keys worked on the first try. A quick skim of the room showed no evidence of wear or tear, no bugs, and they even claim the remote for the TV is sanitized between guests. I have no idea whether or not that's really true, but if you're the kind of person who travels with a small can of Lysol in two - and I could hardly blame you for it - chances are you'd still spray it, amirite? The bathroom was a little better, though perhaps not a dramatic improvement over the basic Best Western, though they did include a shower cap and a small packet of shoe polish if you have any use for those things. The bath and shower knobs were much more intuitive, scrapping the terrible single lever/knob thingy in favor of 3 distinct knobs. Don't recall seeing a hot or cold label anywhere on them, so I still had to figure out which ones were which on my own. The sunflower-style shower head was another welcome change, as the unit is my personal shower head of choice. The very best thing was the bed. Comfortable pillows, unstained and comfortable sheets and blanket; I was so sure of it, that I didn't even bother to do my mandatory bedbug check under the mattress (thankfully, I wasn't bit overnight, in case you were wondering). I was so worn out from Carowinds and comfortable that I simply put the TV on sleep mode and drifted off minutes later. I never woke up once during the night and felt good and refreshed in the morning. Also, LED lights were fairly sparse (in case those annoy you in the dark), though I reiterate, I did pass out with the TV on, so I may be a bit unqualified to say just how bad those are. The fan unit was the same as the one in Radford, both of which work well and aren't at all too noisy. I decided to do just a bit of AM cardio on their elliptical machine in the fitness room. Sadly, there wasn't much in there aside from that; a treadmill, and one of those cheesy-looking Ab Lounge chairs or whatever they're called. While I liked that they provided water and towels, an investment in some free weights or a pull-up tower wouldn't go amiss. The complimentary breakfast was your standard fare. Cereal, toast, yogurt, a waffle-maker (which no hotel should ever be without), English muffins, and they also give you hot omelettes, bacon, and sausages. I was pretty satisfied with what I loaded up on, which was a lot, given how adamant I was about filling up for the trip home and not wanting to pay an exorbitant amount of money for food at my brief encore visit to Carowinds. The woman tending to the machines and refilling waffle batter cups and hot trays was even kind enough to show me how the water dispenser worked (fairly simple, but I'm an idiot) and took my empty plates away from me while I was seated. That, I figured, was enough to earn her a tip, and my praise on here. So, my first stay at a Best Western Plus then. Better than a basic Best Western and worth the extra investment? I'd say so. Might there be better hotels in the area? Perhaps. Would I stay at this one again? Yes. Definitely.

My husband and I recently spent 3 nights at this Best Western. It was a VERY pleasant stay. We were made to feel very welcomed by all the staff. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable. It could have used a few more electrical outlets. The breakfast in the morning was tended by the sweetest lady! She always made sure there was enough food and was constantly refilling everything. She was even clearly plates from people's tables! A large variety to choose from. Eggs, both omelet style and hardboiled, make your own Belgian waffles, bacon, sausage, breads, cerals pastries, juices, yogurt, etc. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends and family.

The rooms were nice. The bed was too firm. Pay attention to the people entering and leaving from the hotel. There are too many random people leaving and coming into the hotel through the side doors. I was there for a business meeting in the conference room which is near the breakfast area and the lobby. Most of the random men were on my floor and never used the main entrance. I purposely closed the doors for my safety and they would come back to the door and knock until their friends opened the door. I alerted the staff and nothing was done. This went on for four nights. So I would say be aware. It felt like something illegal was going on in that hotel.

I called to confirm my reservation and was hung-up on three times. Guest services very rude. The second floor smelled like cigarette smoke as guest who smoke are allowed to do so at or near all entrances. Smoking should only be allowed in ONE designated smoking area at least 50 feet away from the building. Bathroom caulk should be redone/updated and rust stains removed. A larger fitness area with more equipment that worked would have been nice. Overall I would not recommend this hotel to friends, family or co-workers.

Stayed for a night after a late flight into Charlotte before heading to Charleston the next day. Shuttle was easy to access and convenient. Our room was a good size with nice decent size fridge and microwave in room. Bathroom was large and very clean. Always appreciate when amenities include make up remover and shower cap. Hotel was in good shape and well maintained. Breakfast was standard variety with waffle makers, pre made small omelets, bacon/sausage, oatmeal, fruit, cereal...Fitness center had 1 treadmill and 1 elipticle that we used. I would definitely stay again - my only complaint is that the room didn't have a full size ironing board - it was table top which is difficult to use.

Even though the room cost me only $70, they tacked on an additional $35 for my well-behaved dog, who promptly went to his blanket and fell asleep. Meanwhile, a child who stayed for free literally screamed until 3 in the morning. Vigilant travelers take care not to have their pets cause harm or impact others - they want to keep hotels animal-friendly. But these pet fees are nothing more than cash grabs. No one will convince me that housekeeping does "more" when a dog has been in the room. Vacuuming is vacuuming. When I complained the next morning, the clerk met me with a blank face and said, "Well what do you want?"

The staff here is excellent. Price is very reasonable and we use this hotel whenever we have early flights out of Charlotte Airport. We usually stay one night, leave our cars and take shuttle to airport. There is no charge for car parking if you stay at the hotel. The hotel is near several restaurants and they are within walking distance. Traffic is hectic on the busy street this hotel is on but there are crosswalks with lights which you will be able to use.

Never Again. Throughout the hotel the stench of chemicals was disgusting. Whether covering up mold or otherwise, I had to cover my nose while sleeping. If I had not arrived so late at night, I would have booked a different hotel! Across the hall there were multiple dogs that barked early in the morning and every time I came out of my room.

I like staying at this hotel. The rooms are clean and they have a very good complimentary breakfast. The food was hot and not over done. They are located a block from the Aztec Mexican Restaurant, which is very good. Also Bo Jangles is across the street if you want fried chicken in your room.

Overall clean place. There was a leak in the bathroom ceiling that required a trash can and towel the entire stay. The TV channels had a snowy screen. Reported the problem at checkout the next morning. Desk clerk did apologize. Just surprised that housekeeping did not report the issue and fix it prior to the stay.

We visited the hotel for the Carolina Panthers divisional playoff game. Very convenient to the Lynx. Several places to eat within walking distance. Good value compared to staying near the stadium, less than half as much per night. We would definitely stay here again.

I purposely booked a one night stay here for the convenience to get downtown via the Lynx. The hotel staff was very friendly. The rooms very very clean and the hallways all had a nice smell to them. I booked a room with a king size bed, and the room was spacious. WI-FI was very strong! The Lynx station is literally a 2 minute walk from the hotel. I read a few reviews where people said they did not feel "safe" walking, because there were other people walking through. Of course there are! There is a park and ride located across the street from the station and people get on and off here. I caught a 7:10pm train in the dark and got back after midnight. The station and the sidewalks are lighted. I had my wife with me and never felt uncomfortable even with other people around.

My wife and I travel twice a year to Texas and North Carolina. We stay in motels for two weeks, and we visit restaurants that are local or belong to a chain not located in our hometown. We visited the Best Western on East Woodlawn Rd in Charlotte from November 22, 2015 to November 27, 2015. The Best Western was easily found from I-77. The sign is small, but the entrance is immediately across from a Bo Jangles Restaurant. There was ample parking. There was an elevator in the lobby. There were adequate luggage carts. There was hot coffee in the lobby. Check-in and check-out were polite and friendly. Off the lobby was a business room with two public computers. I appreciate the computer access, but the characters are very worn on the keyboard - as they were in 2013 and 2014. Our room was right off the lobby to accommodate our request for a room near an entrance. Our room was nicely appointed with dark cherry or mahogany colored furniture and complimentary wall and floor color schemes. As with most Best Western Hotels we've visited, the furniture included desk, large TV, dresser, king bed, two night stands, two arm chairs, coffee table, refrigerator, microwave, and five lamps. The bed was very comfortable. The paint, carpet, and wall hangings were well coordinated and had a fresh look. There was a closet with several hangers and a spacious full bathroom. The shower head was wide with a flexible neck. Near the end of our stay. The room heat control worked well and easily. Breakfast was also what we expect of Best Western. It was served 6:30 to 9:30 in a nice large room with comfortable chairs and spacious tables. There were cereal, instant oatmeal, waffles, bagels, toast, biscuits, muffins, cream cheese, jams, gravy, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, coffee, several juices, bananas, and apples. My wife enjoyed scrambled eggs, bacon, coffee, and a biscuit. I enjoyed a bagel with cream cheese and jam, boiled eggs, bacon, coffee, and juice. There are two restaurants within walking distance of the motel. The Caroline Prime Steakhouse is just across the street. It serves breakfast 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and lunch or supper thereafter. My brother and his wife, niece and her husband, my mother, my wife and I all enjoyed a supper there the night before Thanksgiving. Our very personable waitress was Bonita, the same server we had in previous years. We all enjoyed our meals and Bonita's friendly banter. Behind the Carolina Prime Steakhouse, facing Tryon Street, is the Tryon Restaurant, a nice coffee shop that serves all-day breakfast and lunch items in a friendly atmosphere and colorful decor. There is also an International House of Pancakes between the motel and I-77.

Excellent hotel for a short stay in Charlotte, NC. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good, especially the coffee and juice. Could use some extra lights in the room, but other than that, it was a pleasant experience.

We pulled in after a long night on the road and our room was very comfortable. It was large, clean and had a nice bathroom. Complementary parking out front, affordability, 24 hour check-in and friendly reception staff made our stay comfortable and pleasant overall. I would definitely go back.

We stayed at Best Western Sterling Hotel on our way back from a trip on 11/9/15 and the staff was extremely helpful, and went out of their way to make our experience a great one! The room was very clean and the staff when asked about restaurants close and within walking distance, was very helpful. Also, the next morning, a shuttle driver that wasn't yet on duty took us to the airport anyway so that we didn't miss our flight.

I will preface by saying nice properties near the airport are pricey. We tried to save a little money because we arrived at midnight and left by 9am and also have stayed at quality BW hotels. This place was less $ then many other hotels but it really did not measure up. While some updating had been done in the rooms, it's just hard to make an old place feel new without a total gut job. Desk clerk was friendly and room was generally clean but it still felt dingy.

Clean and Courteous. I arrived in the evening and I felt the parking lot needed more lighting because there were a number of people loitering around the area and I felt unsafe. But of course I am a female traveling alone. The inside is clean and nice. The breakfast was OK....nothing stood out as wonderful or negative. The driver who took me to the airport was unfriendly but I tipped him anyway.

It has been refurbished in the last few years so it is on the upper end of Best Western's properties. The breakfast room is very good - but watch the stairs.Mainly I like it because of the friendliness of the staff. The shuttle to the airport is fast and efficient.

Would never stay there again. 4" cockroaches in your room. didn't get any sleep a lot of traffic in the hallways. There was very little toilet paper in the bathroom. My room was not cleaned until after 6:00pm at night after working all day.

Stayed one night in king bed room. Hotel, room and shower were o.k. and met BestWestern standard. But we were given a room surrounded by drunken sport fans, who partyed until 4a.m. When we spoke to management, they said hotel was full and they could not have done anything.With four floors to place people, that is laughable. The motto of BestWestern is "stay with people who care". The management here does not fulfill this standard. We were offered a rebate but a good nights sleep is more important than a cheap room.

I have stayed at a few Best Western Hotels. Overall, very good accommodations for the price. Friendly efficient staff. Nice rooms. They are conveniently located off of major highways which is great when a person is just passing through a specific area.

NO SUITES! Manager SONNY says "too much of a hassle to change the 2 SIGNS" , "then the city won;t let us", and still offer description of "ROOMS AND SUITES" on the Best Western Site! they use the "lobby"(shown on the site) as STORAGE and there is NO WHERE TO SIT! My husband (DISABLED) TRIPPED on one of the Shipping Containers (2/HUGE CRATES) and Almost FELL!, 1 computer not 2 in pics, THE PLUS? NONE!!!!! Corporate BW says it is ok. left us out in the rain unless we wanted to drive to SC to get a room. Bet that property has the same ownership!We had used points for the room and had to drive opposite way back to get to Monroe, which was double the points, so we paid cash instead of using points we had and had to stay extra night because of the extra travel back and forth for our reason to be in Charlotte to begin with!

If you ever want to go to a Panthers game, stay here. Excellent location to interstate and Lynx without being gouged. Be aware of the beggers in the parking lot. Direct all of your questions to front desk. Try to be polite to cleaning staff even if they seem as if they are sorry as hell and have forgotten the circumstances they left to have a chance to succeed in the US !

I normally read reviews with a grain of salt. However, this is not a place I would recommend or stay at again. Staff wasnt very friendly. Got checked into a room that wasn't ready. Between 1a-3a it was like a street party. The person at the desk says "there are more of them then me, but I'll try" The next morning housekeeping comes flying in at 9a. DND sign is out and we are not due to check out till the next day. We decided to check a day early. Staff didn't seem to mind or act bothered by it.

Spent one night here for a quick getaway. No smoking signs everywhere but clearly people disregard them. The entire 3rd floor smelled of smoke. Average room. Staff didn't really meet the five-star customer service rating... They neither acknowledged or greeted us. Hotel is conveniently located near light rail Woodlawn station. Hopped on it and it took us straight into downtown Charlotte.

would not stay at the Best Western again because if you say the room I was in was a handicap room that you could not get my wheel chair in the bathroom and close the door, Plus in the bathroom their is not a guard rail or a right size toilet t to sit on. The only rails their is in the bath tub.

Stayed here late September (when the rooms were being re-furbished. The hotel appeared relatively empty, but the workmen were allowed into our room and the drawers were emptied (and the clothes left on our bed), which I was not impressed with. The rooms were clean, but there was food wrappers and an old invoice left in the corridor for days. Also there was a shortage of toiletries, only Shampoo and Conditioner - we were on vacation from England and usually we get Bath Gel and Body Lotion as well. Not up to Best Western standard.

The Good:: Good Location - near the Lynx and 77 Large Rooms Best Shower Ever - easily adjusted for short or tall - large shower head - strong flow Comfortable Bed and Clean Linen TWO luggage racks Large bathroom counter We did not have problems with the noise that others have reported. The Bad In Need of Renovation - electrical outlet and lighting most importantly (for safety) Breakfast - I know tastes vary, but I found the sausage to be inedible. Bananas Green, Would not even try the eggs. And when coffee ran out, had to find someone to bring more coffee. Housekeeping was not quite what I expected, but there was a quick response. It was a very busy weekend for them (A seminar and NASCAR race weekend), so I am inclined to give them a bit of a pass. This Best Western goes into our B plan for Charlotte. Hoping for renovations so it can move up to A !!!!

This is a great hotel that is not far from the Billy Graham Library. The room was clean and well supplied with towels, etc. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

"Airport connection"

We stayed at this hotel because we had an early flight out of the C harlotte airport CLT. We were able to leave our car in their parking lot and had a ride early in the morning to the airport and they picked us up when we returned; loaded our luggage in our car. It was very easy and everyone was helpful and knowledgeable. I recommend this hotel.

Parking while we were away for 2 weeks with the convenience of shuttle service to and from the airport - driver was extremely courteous and friendly. We will definitely stay here again. This made the beginning and end of a cruise vacation to Alaska so much easier and cost less than parking in the airport lots.

My boyfriend and I came from California to watch the Panthers play. I chose this hotel based on the price and location. Once I had already booked the hotel I read the reviews, this hotel had some reviews that made me want to cancel my stay but I'm glad I didn't. The room was nice, the hotel was clean and we really enjoyed our stay.

"Worst Hotel Stay I Have Experienced "

The front lobby and all the hallways were cluttered with furniture. The room had a stench of mold. Before 8am the staff was assembling the furniture in the hallways yelling back and forth laughing all morning long. I got only a few hours of sleep and felt like they forgot people were staying adjacent rooms. Very unprofessional and no warning was provided.
