Perfect experience. Reception was great and we got the room we had requested. The roo. Was clean and comfortable. Nothing was lacking. Housekeeping did a great job. The breakfast area was large and clean. The section was very good.

Had to stop in for an overnight stay. The room was very clean and cozy. The entire hotel was clean. The area seemed a little sketchy with a man outside asking for money and a gas station up the road looked to have a few meth heads arguing. The free breakfast had bacon, sausage, waffles with toppings, a variety of cereals, and pastries.

I chose this hotel because of the area. Location is great. Building looks nice on the OUTSIDE. My room however, was dirty. The carpet was wet surrounding the air conditioner, and stayed soggy the entire time. The room smelled like a hot armpit (like a gym)...The pillows were not the regular size, and out of the THREE provided, only ONE did not smell like a persons body. The first night, the power cut off three times (it almost fried my son's Alienware computer). Internet was slow, 5-6 mbps...People were ridiculously noisy, even at 3am. It's like you could hear everything from under the door!! Oh and I forgot to mention that the drawers in the dresser were dirty, I gagged because it smelled like someone had left a fish in one of them. I was just too tired to change rooms y'all...but best believe me when I say that I won't be back...

If you are looking for a good night's sleep and a good value, this is for you. Very clean, quite and comfortable. That's all you need for a good night's sleep. The breakfast is meager, but will get you through to lunch. Not a “Wow!” hotel, but gives you what you need, at a good price.

My son and I traveled from the Myrtle Beach area to see a concert at the PNC Pavillion (since Myrtle Beach has no venue in which to hold a rock concert and seems to have no desire to address this situation, we've learned to travel to see them). Although this hotel was a 20 - 30 minute drive to the Pavillion, it stiil fit our needs perfectly. The beds were comfy, the showers were hot with great water pressure, the staff were terrific and the breakfast was delish...what more could you ask for? We will be returning!!

I stayed at this hotel because a few years ago I had a great experience. This past stay was a disappointment. I'm surprised at how downhill it has gone in the few years. The place smells musty. The room smells and the carpet felt like I might catch something from it. The bed was hard and the blankets felt like sand paper. They have 6 to 8 mini pillows that you can't even stack on each other. What's wrong with a regular size pillow?..I don't see the point of so many of those tiny pillows. I think they went with the cheapest soap and coffee they could find. When I was leaving I had to physically open the automatic sliding doors to exit. Apparently they are in disrepair. I will not be coming back. The staff was okay and did their job.

I was awaken at 11:30 pm by a smoke alarm. It was beeping every 30 seconds due to a low battery. I had to be moved to another room after waiting 40 minutes for anybody to come up to my room, which nobody ever did. Spoke next morning with the GM and they seemed to not care about my experience and basically said he couldn't do anything about it, all while having a nasty attitude with me. Apparently you don't care ONE BIT about your customers. I called customer care and they also said they could not compensate me. Ridiculous.

As a walk-in got a great rate...thank you Rebecca. You were so helpful and sweet. From the outside through the lobby, into the elevator, down the hallway and into the room was CLEAN!!! The room was very clean and the bed...very comfortable. Check out was a breeze as I had the pleasure talking with Linda. Thank you BW for a great stay!!!

This hotel is infested with roaches. Housekeeping only cleans when they feel like it and then only takes out the garbage and makes the beds. No sweeping of any kind and never replaced the kleenex. I know they never swept or wiped up because all the roaches I had to kill remained where I killed them.

Only one computer at front desk worked so it took 20 mins to wait to get checked in. Phone in the room was torn apart- see pic. TV did not work - see pic and I was told I had to wait until they had time and they were doing a shift change. I drove in Atl and traffic was horrible so paying 100$ for a dated room with broken equipment and an attitude from the staff was terrible. I WOULD NEVER RECCOMEND THIS PLACE!

Very pleasant stay, Kind and attentive staff. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Chilis restaurant next door.. Other coveniences nearby. Quiet atmosphere. No pets/No smoking hotel. Good breakfast. Cozy lobby with a couple sittling areas to relax. Renovated rooms.

We recently stayed at this hotel, the price was reasonable and it was close to Charlotte, but besides those two facts there was nothing good about this hotel. Upon arrival the girl who checked us in was more concerned with her phone than checking us in. Our room had horrible lighting, an extremely uncomfortable bed and smelled like cigarette smoke! The free breakfast they offer was awful, microwave bacon? No thank you! I would not recommend this place at all! There are many other hotels close by...

Great place to be. This was my first time I was in Charlotte and this hotel was clean and charm with great breakfast good internet and the rooom was very nice and clean smells fresh when you walk into room. Will be back again

I only use this hotel when in Matthews. It has a great location and great staff. Their breakfast is decent and well stocked. Internet worked well. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Can't wait to visit again.

Rooms need to be more cleaner for the price you pay for rooms ...I love the location ,,it's close to where my son lives,,however i wish check in time would be much earlier than 3pm .. I travel 6hours to visit with my son and have to wait to check in ....Staff is very good...will stay again

Two days during my six day stay the rooms were not cleaned up. When I called the first time a housekeeper was sent to the room and the bathroom was cleaned up. The second time I went to the room very late, was visiting my family, and it was impossible to have the room cleaned at that time

The staff was wonderful . Room was very clean and the actual room itself was amazing with an amazing view. Everyone we met - seemed to be happy doing what they do and extremely helpful. Breakfast was so delicious !!!

Friendly & helpful staff. Very clean room with comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast; fresh fruits are fresh. Hot breakfast had nice thin & crispy bacon. Bring/ask for cotton balls ; the noise from the fridge can be annoying.

I needed to book the hotel at the last minute so it would not have been my first choice due to location. Overall, the hotel served it's purpose. It's a bit dated and could use renovation but the bed was comfortable enough. On the plus side, it has the fridge, microwave and in room safe. If you need to sleep late be sure to ask for a room far away from the breakfast area as the smell will wake you up. The fitness room is totally inadequate if you do resistance training. There is only one machine and its totally inadequate. I did not try the treadmill type machines. There is a Chilis restaurant next door but I did not try it. There is another restaurant across the road and the food was plain but edible.

The hotel lobby was clean but the hallway on third floor had an odor. When I arrived in my room it had a stuffy odor. When I pulled back the comforter there were strands of hair on the sheet. I requested another sheet and the front desk person gave me the sheets and didn't apologize or ask if there was something else they could do. I will say the maid on Friday morning did an excellent job.

Stayed at this hotel for one night with my family and will never be back. Refrigerator did not work , rooms not very clean and mattress was like sleeping on a rock. Do not recommend at all until they do some major upgrades.

We came to exhibit our artisan product at the Southern Christmas Show and found the place which we will hereafter stay when in the area. The staff was very personable and helpful. We truly felt it was our home away from home for the two weeks we stayed there.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay as all the BW associates at this location treated us like family. We observed the same level of service and caring with all the customers. This will be our destination whenever we are in the Charlotte/Matthews area.

This hotel stay was reasonably priced and I did not feel l got any more than I paid for. The toilet kept running after it filled. The breakfast hours were to short (6-9 AM) and they didn't have any bananas. There was no one at the front desk when we checked in. Just a sign that said they would be back in 5 minutes.

I don't understand the ratings on this hotel at all. Room was engrained filthy: sticky carpet, black stains in bath, smeared bathroom floor and stank of cigarettes, which is ironic as you have to sign a disclaimer you won't smoke. Bites on my legs from I assume the bed/carpet Stay well clear

It's clean, there is a great staff, convenient location, near stores, restaurants, and two movie theaters. We will stay here again. We've done staycation before but this one is at the top of our list to stay again. Parking was great. The breakfast wasn't as great for us but that's our opinions, overall I would recommend it.

Excellent location with a wide variety of restaurants near by. The décor is very modern. The room was very spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of choices. Excellent value for the money.

I have always been treated well here and this is our go-to hotel when we stay in Charlotte to visit family. It is centrally located to where we need to be when we come to Charlotte. The staff are always friendly and any time I have needed something extra and they could provide it they make it happen.

My room was filthy! The bathroom has used soap still in it and the floor was sticky. The ceiling had been painted over "something black" to cover it up. I am still hoping it wasn't mold that had been covered up.

Clean, quiet, great staff. The refrigerator in our room was a little noisy and when we reported it we were immediately moved to another room. Normal hotel breakfast fare was kept fresh. Loved the fact that the bagels, toast, etc. were individually wrapped. Fresh coffee 24/7.

"A very challenging hotel"

I have stayed at this location five times in the last 8 months, and the last two trips presented some challenges not expected in Bw Hotels. This trip started down with no Remote in my room, it got worse when I tried to plug my Cpap machine into the lamp outlet, and no contact could be made. I had to drag one of the beds away from the wall, unplug one of the three plugs and plug my machine in. Believe me, it was no an easy task because in addition I have a shoulder injury which makes any task difficult when I have to move anything heavy, plus I had to nearly stand on my head to accomplish the very limited space I had to work in. The guest next door to me had to have slammed his door more than 20 times over the next three hours. Then I was awakened in the wee hours by passionate screams of a woman being-whatever. I finally got up and pounded on the wall and asked them to calm down. The next night there was constant door slamming up till past 11:30PM. I was able to get even with them when I had to get up at 6AM and went to get one of the two luggage carts and neither were in the lobby. The lady on the front desk checked all three floors and none could be found, so I made three trips to move my luggage and gear to my car. To the Imbecile or Imbeciles that had the two carts all night in their rooms, I hope something really inconvenient happens to you. The carts are for the temporary use of the other 100 plus guests in the Hotel you Moron. And you know what, this is the second time in two trips to Best Western Matthews this has happened to me, so I am going to be looking for another Hotel in future travel.

I was bit during my stay at this hotel and was advised to go to the Doctor. I did go and the visit alone cost me $240.00 for them to just tell me yes you were bit. Ever since I got bit it has progressively got larger and painful as well. I am now back home and I have to go see my Doctor because it has grown in size. This will also require me to continue to pay for this visit as well. I have used Best Western in the past and generally have a good stay, but would tell future guest to check the beds before they get in to go to sleep or this could easily happen to you. I am just really surprised that I have not heard from anyone from this Hotel. It's like I got your money so your problem is just your problem. :-(

Hotel was clean with friendly staff, breakfast was free with a nice selection, had to ask for sheets and pillow for sleeper sofa which as most sleeper sofas are - it wasnt very comfortable - was told that I would get bottle water and other perks due to my Best Western status but didnt - but room was clean and hotel was convenient to Quail Hollow Golf course

We had an average stay at the Best Western in Matthews, NC. I wish it had a pool but it had a fitness room. It would have been helpful if the check in person reminded us of breakfast hours, so we ended up going out for a late breakfast. The staff was helpful to let us check out an hour later than regular time, but I kind of expect that since we have a rewards membership with BW. Other BW we have stayed us gave special service to rewards members like early check in or late check out, even drinks and snacks. This one, gave us nothing. Not even a special smile like we have received before from check in staff who realized we are BW rewards members.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. The rooms are spacious. I did not have breakfast so I cannot speak to that. Internet service could be a little not reliable. Location is great. Close to restaurants and down town Charlotte.

We always stay at BW hotels because we like the consistency and great service. While the location was great, and most of the staff was wonderful, our bed wasn't made, the toilet paper was never restocked, and the clean towels we're just tossed on the shelf. At checkout, the employee was in sweat pants and talked on the phone to the person who was supposed to be relieving him. He had to ask me three times which room I was in because he was more concerned about the phone call than checking is out of the room.

Had a great experience. Good staff and rooms were clean. Breakfast was hearty and the internet was fast. The hotel is near other restaurants and shops in case you need to do any last minute shopping. Highly recommend!

After a long flight we wanted to get into a bed and rest. Hotel helped in getting from airport to the location. Check in was fast staff was very helpful and polite,(ask for payal or kam). Room was clean, bed was very comfortable. Fitness centre was not crowded. and breakfast experience went very well Linda was around to help.

The staff at this property is not professional at all. They treat you like prisoners instead of guests. No real hospitality at all. Breakfast needs improving. Housekeeping is not reliable at all. Much needed upgrade.

This Best Western is always clean, friendly staff and a great breakfast. Coffee is available all day and evening. Great location next to Chili's with numerous restaurants in close proximity, Also located right off Independence Blvd, hwy74.

It was okay for a stay. The breakfast foods were sub par no named products. The room was dingy and not clean. The staff was not very friendly when I checked out I handed the staff my keys and was not offered a receipt.

I was very pleased with the accommodations provided for my stay. All of the staff that I encountered were very polite and friendly from check-in to checkout. Clean room, very comfortable bed, hot breakfast, pleasant staff, good amenities and good wi-fi. All of my needs were taken care of. Will definitely return again on business.

They didn't honor our reservations. The room was disgusting. The mattress was so old it was YELLOW and had a huge brown stain on the edge that we didn't really wasnt to identify. We needed 2 double beds and a rollaway bed which was guaranteed when I paid but not available when they showed up. Their only available option? 1 grown man on a loveseat, and 2 grown men sharing a king size bed. Comfy right? No. And they were so rude they actually cut them off from speaking when they tried to change the reservations like it was such a pain having to deal with them. Customer service? NONE.

The service was Excellent. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. The internet speed was adequate. Had great variety of selection for breakfast. Great location, A lot of choices for restaurants. I will definitely stay here again.

Location: The location of this hotel is placed conveniently near various shopping malls less than 5mins away. Very big plus when your coming from out of town and need little things around the way. Rating = A+ Desk Clerks: I was greeted by the lovely receptionist Jenna and she was a great help during my stay from the beginning. I had reserved 2 rooms online, 1 for me and another for my mother. She was able to assist and make sure me and my mother where roomed near each other since she has a slight disability. There was another spanish lady receptionist at the desk that was truly a sweetheart I apologize for not retrieving her name and I wish I would've. She above and beyond to assist me and my mother with any discomfort or discrepancies in the rooms. Some how there was a breakdown in communication with the room attendants and our rooms did not get cleaned for a few days. The lovely Spanish lady personally went up to the rooms, changed the sheets, took out the trash and assisted with providing fresh linen. I felt so bad that I had to let her know personally I understand things happen and apologized to her for my parents outrage. She also has the touch of magic and fixed my TV for me to watch the basketball game which won me over completely. Rating = A+ Room Service: This was my only problem I had with the hotel in general. Some how my rooms did not receive room service for a couple of days which really put my parents over the edge. They are employees to Best Western in South Carolina which shocked them on the oversight of room service. Overall I think it was just a bad weekend for the hotel in general with staffing of the room service attendants. Sometimes they showed up in the evening and at times no presence at all. I personally made sure the "Do not disturb" signs weren't on the door either. Rating = C Breakfast: Fresh and hot daily. Selection of food was sufficient. Very clean in the area of food also. Rating = A+ General: I have to give the desk clerks A+++ for handling everything in such a professional manner. Hospitality was displayed at its best overall by them and I would recommend this hotel for others to stay at. It could've been just my weekend as a bad one for room service but the Desk Clerks carried their weight through this one!!

Room was clean and bed comfortable. Good breakfast. Love the waffle maker that allowed you to make smaller waffles so you don't feel you have to overeat or throw out food. Walking distance to restaurant which is nice after a full day of driving.

Stayed one night after a visit in Columbia, SC because we were flying out of Charlotte. For 80 dollars before tax, we got a very clean and modern room, though a bit small, but had a king sized bed. Room was clean, wifi was good, bathroom was spotless, decor was modest but modern. No pool, but wasn't a tourist destination, obviously for travelers and business groups. The breakfast was halfway decent, though selections were a tad limited. Overall, thumbs up for the money we paid.

The employees at the Best Western Hotel where I stay (2501 Sardis Rd N, May 26th-29th) are professional and made you feel warm and fuzzy. My experience at Best Western was a good one. I had no problems are concerns. When I called the front desk because I had a question about the DVD setup, the employee came to the room and showed me how to set it up. When I asked the employee responsible for breakfast where could I pull some milk out before putting the cup in the trash, I was told to leave it on the table, she would get it. She had no problem going the extra mile. These are the things that makes you come back for another stay and tell others about the good service the staff provides.

Date=May 19th 2017 Comments=We were in the area for an event at the race track and the hotels in the area were outrageously priced. We searched outlying areas and came across this jewel around a 25 minute drive away. Well worth the drive to save around $100. The staff was nice and room was clean. Staff= Nice and even call you to check on you to see if the room is to your liking. Elevator= Yes, but we were on the 1st floor Room= 131, was far enough away from the lobby that you didn't hear too much of the guest talking too loudly. came with Fridge=Dorm sized with no freezer Wi-Fi= D/L=10Mbps U/L=3.5Mbps Room was Tv-nice size, I believe a 40” Bed=FIRM… too hard for me but it felt like a quality firm, not cheap Pillows=Soft, not real big Heating and air=B Below window unit with on board controls. Liked the constant air option but the room stayed humid, even though the air was blowing cold air. Due to this, I had a hard time sleeping. Shower=B I liked that they added an extension bar to raise the shower, unfortunately it limits your ability to adjust the direction of the shower. On the bad side, the cold water valve was stripped and my wife couldn't get it to turn on. I was able to get it to come on by pushing it in and turning. Desk was helpful as they were going to let us use the shower in another room, but I got it to work with some rigging. Laundry=Simple washer and dryer (see pic) Breakfast=B We really enjoyed the roomy (see pics) hot (sausage patties, eggs, waffles) and cold (cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc.) breakfast. View=C nice view of the next hotel, I suppose (see pic) Price was- $69 w/tx Pool= NA Location= Good location right next door to Chili's… GPS had no problems getting us to it. An easy 25mins drive from the track. Parking-free Lazy review Pros- are Great price compared equal quality hotels near the track. Good breakfast, nice staff and clean up to date rooms. Cons-are cold water in shower in disrepair. The air conditioning not dehumidifying the room. The “locked” door at the end of my hall wouldn't latch, so anyone can wonder in from the street. Security is important while my family is in your hotel… fix your locks BW. Hints- Hotel located next door to Chili's, same driveway access in fact. Summery- We enjoyed our stay and if we are going to the track again, or in the area, we would stay; again. Eco-friendly practices=A lights were mostly LED (from the ones I could check) Also BONUS points for having individual water pressure adjustments. No sense on having the water on full blast if I don't need it.

This was an excellent hotel. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The rooms were very clean and the business center was useful for me. It was a good value and I would definitely stay here again.

This Best Western gave away all our rooms in our block without calling first. We got there and didn't have any rooms. I had to share a room with my brother-in-law and two sisters. We only had full size beds. There was no manager on duty for the weekend. Linda, the sales manager, blocked rooms for us and never called my sister to let us know she was giving our rooms away. It was a horrible experience.

All went well. Desk clerk was very kind and helpful. The room is spacious. Bathrrom clean. Breakfasts were tasty. An event was in the city so hotel was crowded. Seemed difficult for one woman to keep items replenished. Someone kept propping open the side security door. Annoying.

Good clean and comfortable room. Management should ensure sufficient staff are on duty for when guests arrive. A client had a problem that the clerk was very professionally dealing with. However, that created a line up as there was seemingly no other staff member on site. In addition, later on in the evening we called the front desk for a kleenex replacement box and it was the same front desk clerk who had brought it up. Shame on management.

This Best Western is my home away from home 2 nights a week. The staff is always friendly, courteous & accommodating. Carmen always has an excellent breakfast selection with a smile on her face! This hotel is making every effort to updating & doing a good job at it. I only wish they could provide me with a rate comparable to Priceline!

It almost seems like they attempted to upgrade this hotel, but did what they can with a small budget. The bed seemed pretty new, but it was a brick with a small pillow-top on it. After a few hours of tossing and turning, I went to the front desk to see if I can change rooms, in hopes of finding a more comfortable room. The lady working the desk was very friendly and helpful, and gave me keys to two other room to see how they were. Well, they all seemed to have the same exact beds. So I just ended up asking for extra blankets, so that I can fold them and add some softness to the bed. That still didn't really help much and ended up only getting about 1 1/2 - 2 hrs sleep. Later that morning I noticed that the sofa was a pullout sofa bed, so I opened it up and found it was MUCH more comfortable than the king size bed. So the following night I slept on the sofa bed. The A/C unit was pretty awful as well. It took 2 days for it to cool down the room. It was in the mid 80's out and can only imagine how it would be in the middle of summer. I had even mentioned the weak A/C unit and she said they were brand new, and that I was not the first to complain about the A/C that evening. That first night I had Wings for dinner and put the leftovers in the fridge. The following day I went to eat them, and had to throw them away because they had the fridge turned off! The guest services flyer in the room says the breakfast included bacon. I went to get breakfast and there was only sausage, even though there was a sign right above it that said bacon. The desk chair was nice, but cheap and leaned to the side a little, making it very uncomfortable after 10-15 minutes. Oh, and there was goose crap ALL over the place outside in the parking lot and in front of the entrance. They could have at least tried to clean some of it up! It was just one thing after another with this place. I got a prepaid non-refundable price for this place so I was not able to just get up and leave and find a new hotel, otherwise I definitely would have. I will definitely never stay at this hotel ever again.

This was the last night on the road after a week of traveling and it was a great stop! Everything was perfect! And it was one of the cheapest places that I stayed at! The room was nicely decorated and very clean. The service was excellent!

We have stayed in better Beat Western motels. The room we got was about the quality of a motel 6 and to label this as a BW Plus is a joke. We were very disappointed and would not recommend this motel.

Stopped at this location as a half way point between Youngstown and Orlando - great place! Chili's next door let us get yummy food to go and hang out in the room after driving all day. AC worked great, big bathroom sink area to get ready, and the breakfast area was set up very nicely. The BF enjoyed a good breakfast before our second half of our trip. Will definitely stay again on our next trip to Orlando!

the guest clerk I could not understand what they were saying. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, but everything else was nice and clean. The refrigerator didnt get as cold as it should have. the room was nice and clean and the location was very convenient.

I had a call a day before my confirmed reservation saying a was a no show for hat day and would be charged $55.00. Luckily I kept a copy of my reservation to say I did not have a reservation for that night. It was credited but it still was something I worried about. The rooms are so-so...I would say very average. A problem I did have was when I left my room early in the morning I took down The Do Not Disturb sign off the door and placed it on the floor. Upon returning to my room after 5 housekeeping had not come and when I called the front desk they said they left for the day and nothing could be done. An offering of fresh towels, shampoo or conditioner would have been nice. Overall the effort was not great.

"Certainly could have been better"

I stayed here on business and to be honest I was disappointed in this being a Best Western PLUS. The breakfast was better than average for a hotel. The room was ok but to be honest it wasn't anything great about it. The housekeeping staff was among the worst I have ever come across. I was working overnights and requested an early cleaning. I was told I would be next and then three hours later my room still wasn't cleaned. The rest of my stay I was sleeping all day so I got no service. The housekeeping staff was so incredibly loud yelling conversations to each other down the hallway and making all kinds of noise. So incredibly rude. To be honest I don't think I'd stay there again if I'm ever in the area.

"Works Well for Me!"

While an older facility, they stay current with upgrades and staff is wonderful. While I don't have their breakfast, I do look it over and they have hot dishes, as well as "continental" offerings. Tempting, but I restrict my diet for personal reasons. The price is very competitive, and owner/staff are extremely accommodating. Location is perfect for the Matthews/Charlotte area (quite near to my business trips). Don't take my word, try it yourself when in the area!

The free breakfast was great. Location is good. There are a lot of restaurants nearby. The room was clean, the beds comfortable. The only concern is that the smell in the room was too strong. Staff in the front desk was nice.

"Great Staff, Lousy Room"

My experience with the employees was very favorable, they definitely tried to go out of their way to make sure I felt at home, were pleasant, and generally easy to deal with. The room itself, not so much. It looked and smelled like housekeeping hadn't been in the room prior to my arrival. The room stunk of smoke, and urine. Normally I would have checked out immediately, but the hotel was close to where I was attending a conference, so I toughed it out. It seems though that as a business practice, they charge non smokers a $350 fee for smoking in rooms, that were not smoked in. Don't bother calling management about it either, they wont help you. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

"A nice place with a couple of glitches"

This was the last night of driving vacation from Florida to North Carolina, We stayed at 4 Best Westerns along the way. From the outside this was the nicest looking place we had stayed, but there were a couple of small things that colored our experience.Apparently there had been a recent computer upgrade with the reservation system so it was taking extra time to get people checked in. When we arrived around 6:00 there was only one person working at the front desk, but there seemed to be someone in the back office. As we were waiting for our turn, several people arrived but the other person did not come out to assist. I did see her about 20 minutes later when I came back to the lobby. The internet was very slow in the evening, I was connected but it did not work well. I had trouble sleeping and in the middle of the night it seemed to work fine. Also this a minor thing but when we arrived the message light was flashing on the phone, we tried to listen to the message but using the instructions on the face plate on the phone it did not work. I asked the front desk and they told us the correct number but it was different than the in room instructions showed. Lastly I was using the business center to check into our flight, and print the boarding passes. Turns out only one of the computers is connected to the printer. There was a sign on the paper tray saying this but I had not payed attention to the note till I tried to print and it was not working. Our room was fine, it was clean, the beds comfortable but the these little things did make reduce our overall satisfaction

"Great Place For A Stay"

I recently stayed overnight after booking on Priceline, and was very pleased with the accommodations provided for my stay. All of the staff that I encountered were very polite and friendly from check-in to checkout. The room itself was very clean and the bed was clean and very comfortable. The air conditioning unit didn't seem to be putting out as much air as it should have, but on a cool fall night it wasn't that big of a concern. The TV appeared to be new with a good selection of local cable stations. The wifi was sufficient for my use but was not as fast as other places that I have stayed at before. Overall it was a great stay and I would recommend anyone lodging there when in the area.

"Not so courtesy shuttle..."

Haven't made it to the actual hotel yet because I've been waiting for the "courtesy shuttle" for just under an hour. Called the hotel on arrival at the airport and the receptionist stated the driver was dropping passengers off at the hotel and would be circling back to the airport... Map says it's an 11 minute drive... You know that feeling when all the people you were waiting with have been picked up by their shuttle and then the second and third wave also get picked up but you stand there alone... still waiting... and other hotel shuttles have passed through 3-4 times? Yeah, kinda like that. Looks like a taxi is the better option if the shuttle isn't right at the curb when you get here. Called again at the 50 minute mark and the receptionist stated the driver was "in traffic".... that didn't seem to be impeding the other hotel shuttles. Maybe the hotel could invest in two shuttles???

Totally met our needs. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Quiet environment, even though it's on a busy thoroughfare. Breakfast was complimentary and nicely done. Our only complaint related to the constant presence of children of the cleaning crew. Some of the children were very young.

I was a bit concerned that several cars were broken in Friday Night (not mine) The Staff was very friendly and professional, although the you lady in the Breakfast area seemed to be having a bad personal day. Room was clean, staff was very friendly. Breakfast was great and included hot eggs, bacon and waffles and food area was constantly being cleaned and restocked. I used the fitness area and it was very nice. I would stay here again!

Nice place and located near restaurants. Breakfast is decent and room was clean. I met a couple who were evacuated due to Hurricane Matthew. They accidentally charged me for my room when I booked through a third party. Be aware but they reimbursed me.

"Not worthy to be called a Best Western"

Not advised they were under some much needed renovations. Not sure the renovations will help unless the hotel goes under new ownership. A dump of a place, dark, dreary. Holes in towels, outlets for phones didn't work, no soundproofing whatsoever. Service staff lacked service, literally, the hotel attendant would leave a note that she would be back shortly so the desk was unmanned at times. There were 3 vehicles broken into while we were there. Did not feel safe staying there with the clientele they attract. The hotel manager was nice and listened to my issues and did offer a small discount. Again, not her fault. This hotel needs new ownership or better yet, take off the Best Western to the name. Even with the small discount, I was way overcharged at over $100 plus per night when it's more like a $50 property! Not worthy to be called a Best Western Plus and definitely not a AAA 3 diamond property.

the hotel looked like it had been updated some but the exterior needed some repair and the bathroom in our room looked like it was from the 70s. overall though good location and was a good fit for what we had planned for the weekend which was downtown.

"Very Good Hotel"

This hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are large with all the amenities necessary. The staff is great and the breakfast is plentiful. There is a variety of items and fruit. The area had a massive amount of food places and businesses. My only complaint is that no matter what time we came in at night there was never anyone at the front desk and with the elevators right as you walk- in security was a concern.

This property is very nice with cold air conditioned rooms with generous space and nice big tv and fast internet and hotel is located within walking distance of a good variety of businesses including restaurants. There was a hot breakfast with a good variety. In addition, the hotel staff was excellent from the making of the reservation to the check-in process on through to the check-out process-overall a very enjoyable experience!!!

"Great Except for Musty/Moldy Room Smell"

Everything was fine, except our room smelled musty/moldy. My husband actually went to WalMart and bought air freshener as the smell was hampering my sleep. We thought it would abate and did not make a fuss - got in late and only there for 2 nights- but the next day was just as bad. When we went to Cary (stayed at another Best Western) I actually told the front desk that I needed to smell the room before we checked in!

"One of the worst stays at BW"

- first room we entered had a horrible smoke smell - we were changed to a different room 213 which wasn't tagged from the outside. The room wasn't vacuumed but it was fine for the night. The next day we returned to the room after it's been cleaned and found it not vacuumed. - The fridge inside the room was on very high that everything we put inside was frozen and eventually spoiled the food and needed to throw it out - I attempted to use the room safe and it was locked. When I asked the receptionist at the time, she said she doesn't know how to use it. I asked another person the next day and she attempted to find out from the manager but still couldn't understand how to use it. - I tried printing something on the printer and the ink wasn't working and the printer needed toner, I told the receptionist and she knew that it needed toner and nothing she could do about it - The bathroom vent wasn't working so all the water vapor is trapped in the room for at least 30 mins after having opened the door. - Grab and go back was giving to me when I asked about it and other time receptionist said it's only for people who didn't get to eat breakfast. - Lastly the equipments at the gym are very very old and very outdated. The hotel should be ashamed thinking that these are work or equipment.

Had my reservations when the price was cheap but it was a really nice hotel. The outside of the building makes it look old but the inside has alot of upgrades. Beds we're comfortable, wifi did fine, front desk service was friendly. When open my room door to check out, the aroma of bleach and other cleaning supplies we're lovely. I like the smell of the cleanliness instead of old moldy carpet from other hotels. Only complaint I had was no pool.....

"Worn out hotel - Look elsewhere"

I've stayed at a lot of hotels across North America because I travel for a living. At first, I was optimistic because the last Best Western Plus I had stayed at was brand new. This hotel, however, is just old and worn out. Another reviewer said that everything "looked" clean but didn't "feel" clean. That's an excellent way to describe this place. The room looked nice enough but I didn't trust the cleanliness of the coffee maker, for example. The complementary breakfast was pitiful. I really don't expect much, but this was pretty bad. My biggest annoyance was that I had an important letter that was to arrive while I was staying there, but it ended up arriving after I checked out. It took SIX phone calls before I finally spoke with someone that could actually confirm that they would return the letter to the sender. Friends: do yourself a favor. Make an effort to stay elsewhere – even if it means spending a little more money.

"Great breakfast but not so clean bathrooms"

We were on vacation and booked the room for 4 nights. The representative who received us was pleasant and provided us with all the information we needed for our stay. The room was in ok shape. The microwave did not work, the dresser, night table and bathroom were dirty. We arrived very late so we went to bed and asked for our room to be changed in the morning. The representative that assisted us with the change of room was very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, we went to 5 different rooms and the fifth one was the cleanest. There was hair on the floor and in the tubs in most of the rooms. All other staff that we came upon, none of them greeted us nor acknowledged us as we walked in or out of the hotel. We've stayed at other Best Western hotels and We would say this was not a very good experience.

I stayed here to be morale support for my daughter who was interviewing for a job in the area. It was ok. Having a separate sitting area from the beds was a nice perk. It "looked" clean, but it didn't "feel" clean.It made me want to sleep in my clothes sitting up right in a chair. In general, the hotel has seen its better days. On a high note however, the staff was friendly and the hot items for breakfast was delightful.

"Mold, Roaches...."

This hotel is so bad and so filthy that our entire group of 50 plus people ended up moving to another hotel. Some found mold in their rooms, cockroaches crawling up the wall, mold in the AC units. The black stuff on the carpets is probably mold too, spiders.... Of all the hotels I've stayed at during 7 months of touring for work, this is certainly the worst. It's miserable. The second worst was also a Best Western, go figure. Aside from being run down and ugly, my first room upon check in reeked of pot, so I had to be moved. I'm sure instead of actually cleaning the smelly room they'll just spray it with fabreze or other chemicals. The carpet was FILTHY in my room. See photo. They are not making it a priority to clean it, even when I showed them the filthy wet wipe (see photo) showing how disgusting my carpet was, and that my feet turn black from walking barefoot on it. The AC unit is unreasonably loud. The Internet went down and when I called the ISP that is on the card who is supposed to be handling the Internet they said they don't have any account information for this property and hung up on me. What an ugly miserable place Isolated in an ugly miserable part of town. As for the Internet: this Best Western like others I've had the misfortune of having to stay at for work has an Internet contract where the Internet company has no control over the devices and can't add Apple TV or any other device to the network. And the hotel staff know NOTHING about it, and have nobody on staff to handle it. So I'm stuck with no way to watch any of my Apple TV content, and can't even AirPlay from my phone or iPad. However, Ashley at the front desk has been truly amazing and I'm sorry she has to deal with the abundance of crap at this hotel. She's so patient and professional. She belongs in a nicer hotel, I'd give her a glowing reference any time. I hope she gets out and interviews at some nice places. The sales lady has been nice, but no amount of nice people can make up for what a disgusting depressing rat hole this hotel is.

"A Diamond in the Rough"

My family and I really enjoyed our visit to this hotel. Its location is great with restaurants surrounding the hotel; there's a great Buffalo Wild Wings across the street. As for the room, it was very clean and orderly. The beds are very comfortable. The flat-screen television is nice with plenty of channels to watch on high definition. The air condition is decent.. The parking lot is plentiful. One issue that I had was that the side entrance near my room was opened. It wouldn't lock to prevent unauthorized entry of the hotel, which I think is very dangerous. They WI-FI is decent. Breakfast is plenty, but it's your typical Best Western breakfast. The server made sure that everything was full, so everyone could get what they needed. The dinning area was a big small. Even so, the receptionist, servers, and hosts were wonderful. Overall, I would return to this hotel again. For the price, I think it's very great place to stay in.

The dryer was not working. Most of the staff are polite. The breakfast is very good they actually cook eggs, bacon or sausage along with your regular cold breakfast such as cereal, yogurt. There are more quality hotels within a mile radius that have better amenities for a cheaper rate.

Doors on each end of the building always unlocked, anybody can enter; dryer in laundry area during our 3 day stay never repaired, we had to go out to dry our clothes; not enough trash cans, there's only one in front of the entrance door, but always full! We booked this hotel though a third party website and stayed one night. The price was very reasonable. The location was good. Close to shopping and restaurants, with a Chili's in the parking lot. The lobby was large and clean with plenty of public space/seating. Check in was fast and friendly. The room was large and clean. We had a king size bed. The bed itself was average, but the bedding was comfortable. There were two sitting chairs, a desk, dresser and nightstands on each side of the bed. Both nightstands had lamps and electric outlets. There was a very nice large flat screen TV on the wall. There was also a mini fridge and small size microwave. Full size iron/ironing board and a safe. The one thing we could not find was an ice machine. And there was nothing in the room that said where we might find ice. In fact, there was no hotel information guide in the room at all. The bathroom was decent but could use a little upgrading. The shower curtain was actually torn in several places, the water in the sink did not drain well and water would fill up in the sink and the water pressure was low in the shower. There were only two large bath towels provided and minimal toiletries (small shampoo, conditioner, lotion and a bar of soap). There was also a coffee maker in here and a small hair dryer attached to the wall. The heating & cooling in the room works good and was not loud. Breakfast was included here and featured scrambled eggs and bacon along with the usual hotel breakfast items such as toast, muffins, bagels, oatmeal, boiled eggs, yogurt and cereals. Overall, we had a pleasant one night stay here and would stay again if in the area.

-Offered friendly, professional staff from the front desk to housekeeping. -Room was inviting with typical amenities (flat screen, bible, air conditioning, compact fridge, microwave, coffeemaker). -Non-smoking rooms available, however, I could tell if someone smoked near my room on first floor. -Needed to use conference room and without prior notice, accommodations were made. -Near a variety of eateries and on one of Charlotte's main thoroughfares (Independence Boulevard / I-74. -Fare from Amtrak was 28.00 plus change. -Breakfast offered a variety of fruits, sausage, bacon, eggs, INSTANT grits and oatmeal, boiled eggs, etc. ****One caveat - Room 102 is near an exit and when used, it makes a loud noise and sounds as if one's door is being knocked down. Shy away from room 102. -reasonable vending machine prices -reasonable laundry services (w/d available with quarters I would and plan to stay at BW again, just will not stay in 102.

Staff was very accommodating and courteous. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel is easily accessible with plenty of stores and restaurants nearby. The breakfast buffet was very good and the staff obviously took pride in keeping it clean and stocked.

We had a block of rooms for family coming out of town for my daughter's party. Linda helped to set it up and worked well with everyone. The rooms were clean and everyone had a good breakfast. My family enjoyed their time. The hotel was convenient to the venue, as well.

When we arrived at the desk late in the afternoon/early in the evening, the desk clerk was surrounded by five people and our party made seven. She was 2/3 into her 16 hour shift. She waited on each of us as we were the only person in the room and it was only minutes before we were checked in and in our room

The hotel is in a good location and it is moderately price . They will ask you for a credit card when you check in. Beware especially if you have a prepaid reservation through Price Line or Hotwire. They will charge your credit card for the room. They claim they need the credit card for incidentals but they really need it to try to sneak in the extra charge. Check your credit card statement every time. Better yet stay away . The Fairfield inn is almost next door and they are honest.

I was pleased with my stay at this hotel. The building was handsome, logical, and conveniently located. My check-in was easy and without incident. The staff I interacted with were helpful and friendly. My room was clean and functional. I had no problems with my stay, and would probably stay there again. One thing of note: this hotel was exceptionally quiet (or, at least, my room was, on the night of my stay). That is to say, I did not feel close to a major highway, and had a good night's sleep. My thanks goes out to all associated with this business. I am grateful for, and have benefited from, your work and service.

The worst experience of my life with this hotel and booking on hotels.com. Room and hallways reeked of smoke and I booked a non-smoking room. Carpet looked like it has not been cleaned in forever. I couldn't stay in the room bc my mom has asthma and she is coming through chemo. She can't be around stuff like that. I spent over 2 hours on the phone with hotels.com and they continue to give me the run around about getting my money back. Will never stay are this hotel and never get another hotel on hotels.com. The staff (Mona) was totally not helpful and neither was the SIX different people I talked to when I called hotels.com. I would have given zero stars if I could!!!

The hotel is pleasant, clean and in good location accessible to Independence blvd. There is a restaurant next door and many other convenient restaurants nearby . All rooms have microwave and refrigerator. A big flat screen TV with excellent reception. Breakfast is average but adequate.

"Very rude staff and poor book keeping skills"

First off check my dozens of other reviews I have done all over the country. I always find something positive to say but trust me when I say there are much better options in the area for your lodging needs. Twice I have had issues with being double billed by this hotel and then when I called to get corrected both times they were extremely rude and unprofessional. The hotel on its best day at best is below average anyway. Looks like this place hasn't been updated in 20 years. The Fairfield Inn next door is a much better option if you have business in this area.

Room was very clean, bed was comfortable enough. The lobby was welcoming and the breakfast was set up promptly at 6am. It had plenty of choices, and was fresh. We did not use the fitness center, but were also offered to go across the street to a fitness club free of charge just by showing our room key. If we had more time on this trip, it would have been a great addition!

"Update the hotel"

Room door would not open the entire stay. My mother had to use my adjourning room to get in and out of her room. On top of that she couldn't get in her room until 1:ooam in the morning and the staff only took off $20 of her bill. Horrible stay. My mother had no privacy!

I'm certainly sorry for the trouble and inconvenience of the matter!! I, myself was out of town, and our maintenance man is off on Saturday's, and so I had to rush back as soon as I could to address the matter. The door's battery went out around 6:45pm or so, it happens from time to time, causing the door to stay locked. I believe you checked into both rooms, which were adjoining, around 3pm that afternoon with a discounted rate. I was called and made aware of the situation around 7pm. We immediately offered her another room at no extra charge for the inconvenience, due to the fact I wouldn't be able to make it to the hotel until 11pm, as I'm the only other person who is authorized to handle door issues. You declined the extra room at no charge and the extra additional 5000 reward points. The only thing left to do was to wait for me to get there and trouble shoot. I arrived at 11pm and worked on that door till 12:30am. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the battery to work but I did open the door so the guest could finally get in. I apologized once again for the inconvenience, and offered the 25% discount and 5,000 reward points for the trouble. She said that would be fine, and accepted the gesture. Thank you for the review. Staff was most professional and cooperating relative to addressing my concerns as a guest there. The only issue I had is that I did not use the room safe but I was charged $1.50 each day as a safe fee. The safe fee is not mentioned as a cost for your stay. It is just automatically added to your bill. It should be included in the room rate. It is just the principal of the thing !!!

So I heard about this place way before I decided to book a room. My parents suggested it because when they come down they always book at this hotel. I must say my experience was great. The staff were really nice. The breakfast was fresh and the rooms and bathrooms were up to par and clean. There are plenty places to eat and shop within a 5-7 mile radius. Downtown is not far either. Loved my stay. I will be booking again soon.

It's an average hotel. Clean enough, friendly enough. The location is convenient for us, there are plenty restaurants around. The breakfast is the typical American hotel breakfast which is so so. For a quick stay, if the price is right for you, sure.

"Quite sufficient for my business visit"

Being that I was spending most of my time in Charlotte, NC at a convention, my room was adequate and the refrigerator worked. Everything was sufficient and the staff very pleasant. Having Chilli's restaurant within walking distance was good. My one peeve was that my non-smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke when I first entered. Maybe it was too close to a smoking room. Anyway, I slept well. Love

I actually thought their rooms was updated based on seeing there somewhat appalling lobby, which was in the process of being updated. Unfortunately.... The room was completely out dated, down to the beds and old furniture. Hotel actually smelled like mold and cigarettes. I immediately demanded a refund because it didn't meet my expectations, expecially paying $115 per night which wasn't worth it at all.

I am a travelling sales rep. I come through Charlotte quite often. My company pays for my stay so I have some options between hotels in the area. I choose Best Western Plus over any of the others. The reason being the rooms and hotel is always very clean. I get checked in in a timely fashion 100% of the time. The staff is very caring and professional. I cant' say enough about their service. Not the mention the rates are fair, full hot breakfast:)...and free use of Energy Fitness across the street( a large gym). Most places just have their In House Gym and that's never enough for me. So its nice to see that the hotel offers guests a state of the art workout facility to use!! DON'T read a few negative reviews left by others and turn away. This property is fantastic!

"Don't get the 1st floor"

The first floor has water/mold issues as the hotel was built in a hole and it seems like water collects at the foundation and the whole first floor smells of mold. Also don't be fooled by "Queen sized beds" the beds are doubles and not comfortable. The best thing about it is the breakfast is good and the check-out is fast.

"Not the best option"

Checked in New Years Eve. Went to my room and smell of cleaning chemicals almost knocked me down when entering room. Second room not as bad, but still a chemical odor. Left for party and set air to cold to try to filter the smell. Returned, still a problem . Went to front desk to explain....the response was as follows, " Sir we have already moved you one time simply because of a smell. There is nothing else we can do. The hotel is full. I said ok and turned to walk away. The guy then starts trying to redeem himself by saying he would give me another room if he had it. Problems with humidity in room and water wouldn't drain out of tub. Hotel is dated and customer service doesn't want to be bothered. Go next door to Fairfield.

Hello, My name is Eric McCants. I've stayed here at this Best Western location a number of times throughout the Spring, Summer n Fall of 2015 n never have I seen, or thought that this location would have any issues. Well tonite, a different story. Dec 31, 2015.. What a way to bring in the New Years. This Best Western is seriously infested with Bed Bugs. I recorded a video of 1 crawling on the bed away from my 4 month old son. I believe it had been in his hair. I was napping when my fiance woke me because they were crawling up the wall from the top of the headboard. She took tissue n gotten 4 of them n flushed them. This location ALWAYS a clean hotel whnever I stayed here. But after this visit, I WILL NOT EVER stay here AGAIN! This is really, really pathetic. You should drop the name BEST WESTERN, n change it to Super Infested 8, or Infested Motel 6.. Not to mention the used bandage on the floor under the sink. Doesn't look like anyone is following up the house keepers by inspecting the rooms before they're renting rooms to the high dollar paying guest.

We enjoyed our overnight stay at this hotel. The lobby is not large, but is lovely with attractive earth tone tile throughout, including the breakfast area. Front desk lady was so helpful - we had a problem connecting to wi-fi and she came down to our room in a flash and got it fixed. The room was very comfortable and spacious, as was the bathroom - including a large vanity. The mattress and bedding were excellent. Breakfast was standard fare for hotel breakfasts - well stocked and with good choices including fresh fruit.

This BW was very deceiving. it looked very nice from the outside and the lobby wasn't bad but our actual room was old and outdated. The wall paper was peeling off the walls in the bathroom and there was no fan to help with steam. The mirror fogged up and you couldn't even use it till after it cleared out. The plastic was peeling off the toilet seat. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable and the walls were so thin you could hear the people chatting in the next room till very late and their tv blasting. Breakfast was cold and yucky!

I stayed two nights and the hotel is quite clean and peaceful. They might want to refresh the bathroom towels/wash clothes, but otherwise a pleasant experience. The breakfast is also bland, and presents not very many choices, but good for the price. Will stay again.

On our way back to Florida from Pa/NY we stayed at the Best Western in Charlotte. This hotel was conveniently located and easy on and off the interstate. Parking was fine. Check in was very easy and the staff behind the desk were very helpful. I was a little taken back when I say furniture lined up in the lobby and some of the hallways. After looking at the pieces, I determined that they were changing the decor of the hotel. There were no problems with the room which was nicely decorated and clean. Having coffee available for us in our room was one of the things we look for when we book a hotel. We also liked the idea of coffee/tea being available 24 hours a day in the lobby. Again, the hotel staff were very friendly and cooperative. Forgetting about the furniture lining the lobby and halls, it was a very nice hotel. Would we stay there again?? Yes without hesitation.

"Review of Best Western Charlotte - Sardis Lane"

From the exterior this hotel looks good however, I found that the rooms needed a serious upgrade/refacing. There was a musty smell in my room and they were doing maintenance work in the corridor which produced a very powerful shellac/lacquer smell . However, the breakfast was quite good and the area was clean and well presented!

Good hotel for the money friendly staff walking distance of restaurants not to far from shopping center . Over all a good place to stay for the money. staff is friendly and nice breakfast was ok just basic

"Very affordable and quality option"

I was in town for 6 days on business. I like this affordable option. I liked the microwave and fridge option. The beds were comfortable. There was coffee service in the room. I liked the desk to work at

"Travelling"

We stopped at this Best Western on our way up from Florida just in the nick of time to miss a massive thunder storm. Although we don't usually eat at chain restaurants, the Outback right across the street really hit the spot. Our room was clean and spacious. Don at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Will definitely stay again.
