Best Western Plus
The place was good and nice. Their rooms are well kept. The breakfast buffet was scrumptious. The personnel from the reception desk to the dining are friendly and professional. They all did a good job. Keep it up.
Great hotel, professional staff, best amenities, love the beds, buffet breakfast was so good with lots of varieties to choose from. Really perfect for holidays. I and my husband was so amazed and definitely we'll come back!
accommodating staffs at the lobby, huge and clean room.but the water at the deck was so cold during at night, they should have at least heated it during night time.and the pillows were stiff.cant have a very comfy sleep.shoutout to their staff at entrance for very warm and cheerful as well as at front desk.very good stay.
The hotel is just above basic. Lobby is small, rooms are small but very comfortable. Exclent shower room with lots of aminites. Slept very well. The location is nothing special. Not in the center nor not far. Nothing special in the area. Reception is slow and many problems. Had to wait 10 hours till they got local money to exchange. Had to wait for my room 2 hours thauogh I arrived after 12. Had to recharge my room card some many times as they are not working well. The rooftop pool area is nice with great views and service.
It was our first time to stay in this hotel.. I was convinced by the reviews I read so we decided to book here.. The room was very clean, staffs are very very polite and caters us good.. I love lex plus factor is the tub with a LCD TV in front.. Good for chilling!! Oh, also the rooftop pool is amazing.. I'll be back again next month!!
I stayed 3 night. The hotel was located near coffee shops, 711, other stores. Room was comfortable, bathroom nice. The hotel is a little dated an example of this was the elevator key reader never seemed to work. Friendly staff the restraunt food was good. The morning breakfast was OK. They start serving 6a but most tours leave hotel at 5a so maybe breakfast could be started 4:30a. No issues with my stay. I would stay here again.
Perfect Location - right next to 24/7 Jollibee + MacDonald's + 7/11. Customer Service was also impeccable, they provided packed breakfast of your choice if you were to leave before the stipulated 6am breakfast time which was much appreciated given the travelling time for all the touristy places. Room was cosy as well. The only slight complaint that we had was that the shower door seems to have been a bit broken, as everytime we showered, the water would leak out and flood the entire bathroom instead of keeping the water in. Everything else was awesome, and would stay there again.
I've had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western Plus Lex in Cebu twice now. As always, the rooms and service are always absolutely fab. The front desk and other staff are all very friendly. I loved the tv inside the bathroom in our very large (and extremely clean) suite. We also love the swimming pool on the roof just above our 9th floor suite too. BW Lex is also quite conveniently located close to Ayala and other main malls as well as Mango Square. However, if you are planning to spend any time on Mactan Island, this hotel may be a bit far for you, owing to the awfulness of Cebu traffic. It's a long drive from the airport there too. Their breakfast buffet is one if the best in town - it has to be seen to be believed. If you love bacon like I do, you'll be happy here. They need to do something about the cheap orange juice though. It tastes awful. Otherwise, I really have no complaints.
This hotel has everything you need. The rooms were really clean and comfortable. We booked a business class room and it was very large. All of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the service was great. The hotel is near many places to eat and has a beautiful pool. If you are a light sleeper you might have trouble at this hotel because it is on the corner of two really busy roads and you can hear the motorbikes and cars at all hours of the day. I am a heavy sleeper so this wasn't a problem. We stayed here one weekend and a much more expensive hotel in the city. This was a great value for the money and I would stay here again before I would stay at any of the more expensive hotels.
We stayed at Best Western Plus Lex Hotel Cebu as our arrival hotel in Cebu. Staffs are very welcoming and the ambiance is calm and relaxing. The location is very accessible because it is located at the capitol center and is very accessible to transportstions and heritage spots in the city. The amenities are very good and I loved the pool located at the top floor. With 180 degrees view of the picture perfect city. Check-in/out is smooth and food is great! I have nothing against this hotel! Just WOW! Just Best!
Nice property with very professional and attentive staff always willing to help. Hotel location is about 45-60 minutes from airport mid-day but only a few minutes from Ayala Mall and IT Park. Street can be very busy and sometimes loud if you're on a lower floor facing the street, Plenty of businesses a few steps away for food, personal needs or relaxation. Nice rooftop pool area and bar.Breakfast buffet had a wide variety of selections to meet any tastes. Overall, very happy with our stay and would consider this an option for our next trip.
This is the hotel you come to that is central to the city and great for a short stay. The staff are unbelievably helpful and make you feel like you can ask them any question. The hotel is clean and well presented and the staff make sure your stay is a good one. The pool on the roof is a good place to chill out, it is not massive, and theres a wall blocking an otherwise amazing city view, but it does the intended job and makes for a relaxing atmosphere. The one time we had breakfast it was great the take away breakfast we had when we left really early in the morning was not that great but at least they provide you with that option. Overall a highly recommended hotel if you are looking for good value for your money and dont want to stay in a resort.
The best hotel in Cebu City as far I have stay. Walking distance to shopping area, and McDonalds. The lobby not so fancy, but it is enough. The room is superb with carpet, the decoration was awesome. Wifi is fast.
The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The place was very accessible. There were fastfood, restaurants, drugstores and banks nearby. Our room (510) had a good square footage. Everything was clean. There was no view but I did not mind. There was complimentary wifi in the room for 2 gadgets. I was able to find only one cartoon channel at the time. Water pressure was strong. The king sized bed was comfortable. The only thing I regret was that we should have stayed longer. Looking forward to staying here again in the future.
We stayed at the Lex for 2 days. Room was decent and clean. The location of the hotel was perfect, close to the mall and shops. We ate out most of the time since there was more variety. We ate breakfast at the hotel, their buffet selection was so-so, I guess I expected more. Still, I consider Lex an upper-scale business hotel. Next time we visit Cebu, we'll most likely stay there again.
Aside from the rooms, the facilities. the people makes me come back in this property, they will make you feel at home. Thus, i'm considering this place as my second home. Everyone's are very professional and genuine. From the security team , food & beverage team, housekeeping and especially Mr. Jon, Mr. Lloyd and Ms. April from reservation & front office team, there service are outstanding! they will go beyond ways to extend their help to you. Highly recommended especially if you are traveling with your family! It was a pleasant stay!
Big room and bathroom. Huge bed and oh so comfortable. Sleepers and robe are available and of good quality. Good safe and good air con. I could go on and on about the room but bottom line: it's very good. Two things that could have been better: 1) pool. Doesn't have much illumination at night and, because it's partly covered, the water is cold. Which is weird because it's so hot in Cebu. 2) breakfast. And this was the most unappealing feature of this hotel. Very big with so much offer, however, it's somehow confusing and the quality of a few items could have been higher (this is concerning the european/American items). Nevertheless, this was the most rested I ever was while at the Philippines. Verdict : would come back.
Very good hotel. Great location. Great food. Lovely staff. Very comfortable delux room. Big bath and plenty of towels. Guest friends allowed to visit or stay overnight. Very reasonable rates considering high quality. Fair value for money. Will definitely return again.
Hotel is situated near commercial area and popular restaurants in Cebu. Nice hotel with accommodating staff, requires deposit (cash or card) for possible bar use. Elevator needs card key to access your room floor for added security but card reader does not function well, needs slow insert to read card properly. With printing services but costly at P10/page. Food choices are ok, with local favorites such as danggit, fruits, breads, and drinks. Room with safe, ref, acu with remote, robes and toiletries. Overall nice place, room rates between P3k to P4k only.
A typical hotel chain ,would say its more for business than holiday visitor but okay for a couple of nights ,as close to shopping Malls .We stayed here twice on our way to and from Bohol ,during our second visit the hotel was full and the breakfast service was chaotic ,we did get an apology from the staff about how things were but very disappointing .We did eat in the hotel one evening very slow service ,a glass of lager has to come down from the roof bar ?? food not that great either .
When I check out Tuesday, unless I extend, we will have stayed a full week. They are extremely customer service driven. If there are any hiccups, they will bend over backwards to rectify. Rooms are CLEAN, mattress's have a foam topper. This made for a great nights sleep, even with back issues I have. The hotel has noise canceling earplugs. You are in the city. So there is traffic but, it is centrally located. A couple of western fast food is close, but the restuarant/room service has really good food. I also ate at a 5 star restaurant and hotel in the area that everyone raves about. But, my finance and I both agree that service and food was better here. There is a small exercise area on the roof along with an infinity pool. Also on the roof is a smoking area and bar. I cant help but go back to the customer service. Its 5 STARS!!!!
We stayed for 01 Nights, its the best centrally located hotel. Location is very good. Staff - Food - hospitality everything I just loved it........100 out of 100 I will love to come again & again & again
First stay at this hotel. Chose this as there were many good reviews. Pros: Hotel Staffs were very polite and friendly. Rooms are generally clean. All the basic amenities are there. Location is very good as well. You have Mcdonald's and 7-11 just 2-3mins walk away. And beside it is a row of restaurants. Further down there is a complex with Coffee Bean and some other restaurants like Jolli Bee. If you need to go to a bank, there is a branch there as well. Cons: Its about 20-30mins taxi ride from the airport (that is the time taken during midnight where there is no traffic) As much as the rooms are clean, the curtain in the shower looks a little filthy with lots of black stains (mouldy i guess). The sight of it will turn you off. Shower drainage was clogged when I first used the shower, but was mitigated the next day. (imo, this should be done before a new guest checks in) Pillows are a little hard. (if you are particular about this, maybe you should request for a softer one) All in all, this is still one of the hotels I will come back to if I were to come to Cebu.
had the plated meal for breakfast and an enjoyable swimming so early in the morning. so good to experience and be back again in this hotel after staying 4 nights on our 2nd couple anniversary last nov.19,2014.been trying the gym on the roofdeck and swimming..enjoyed the buffet breakfast during our stay ay the hotel.been one of the hotel that is memorable to us couple.
Enjoyed a nice room and some cocktails. staff and breakfast are great too. it's about half an hour from the airport by car, so it's in a good location for the first night on the island. couple of good restaurants nearby as well.
Lobby was very professional. Bell Hop always tended to our needs even if just being courteous. (Taught us how to use the elevator key card, hailed a taxi always got within 10 minutes. Lobby Reception was extremely courteous and professional. You can even change your money there at good rate. Breakfast was exquisite... Words cant even describe the variety, the professionalism and freshly cooked food. Expect it to be crowded and you may have to wait before getting a table. But so worth it. My favorite hotel
If you need a place to stay for a good price you should stay here. They have a rooftop pool and buffet breakfast in the morning. I had no issues the 2 times I stayed there and will be going back there again soon. This is the only place I will stay when I am in Cebu
Stayed there with friends for a couple of nights as a base for discovering Cebu. Great location close by to many restaurants, friendly and efficient staff and clean, large rooms (albeit a little loud sometimes). Make sure to check out the rooftop pool for sunset!
I stayed here on my own for a few days after attending a friend's wedding elsewhere in the Philippines. I was given a warm welcome and the friendliness of the staff continued throughout my stay. Breakfast was good; the selection was quite extensive. Nice big room with good shower and comfy beds. Location-wise, it's pretty central. Finally, I really liked the rooftop pool; I used the bar here in the evening once and also did some sunbathing some days! Gym quite small but had everything I need- air con was a bit lacking in gym- even on max it did not really feel nearly enough. Free WiFi was good and reliability not bad for the Philippines (but not great).
Overall it is a value for money. There are restaurants near the hotel. Ayala mall is not far as well. Service is good too. Good place to stay if ur stopping over at the city. Only complaint i have is the extremely hard pillows.
My profile pic speaks how I love my stay here. I was planning to travel south for the weekend, when I stumble to this hotel. My room is perfectly comfortable. I had fast room service as well. There's a pool and a gym for me to not to look for a beach while enjoying the city lights. Food is great as well!
Stayed here for two nights and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel is. HOTEL STAFF: - Very courteous - Friendly - Very accommodating FACILITIES: - Very clean - Loved the king-sized bed. Impeccably seamless. I loved how the housekeeping kept it wrinkle-free. Their pillows are fluffy. Duvets also fluffy. - Toilet is also clean. - The roof deck is especially nice in that you've got a good view of the sunset. Pool is just fine. - Buffet breakfast was surprisingly good. The options are really plenty. - Location is strategic as it is easily accessible to CBD area and Ayala Mall. Lots of shops close by such as Yakimix, Jollibee, McDo, Starbucks, all within stones throw away.
From arrival to room service and a very good reception service we had been impressed. The rooms are very nice the small restaurant had very good food in different varieties of a good selected menu. The roof top pool and a small bar area are really worth to visit.
We stay 6nights last feb.11-17,2018. We have sumptous buffet breakfast. Our last night stay,we miss our aircon remote control. We search it the whole room. During our check-out.I really ask the price of the aircon remote control. They tell us that the aircon remote control was keep in housekeeping. The first time, that we experience this kind of problem.
Stayed here 1 night before going back to Manila. BW + Lex, located at the jam-packed city of Cebu offers a good value for money with few manageable exceptions. 1. Breakfast buffet is applaudable even if the area is a bit small, foods are great! 2. Rooms are spacious and would encourage you to feel lazy and just sleep. 3. Bathrooms are with automatic sensor device which appeal too cute for me. 4. Cash security deposit (even if you fully paid the hotel in advance - covers incidental costs that you might have while staying) Its a bit off to me coz there are other top ratedgh hotels in the city that doesn't actually require security deposit. 5. Upon check in time, we were advised to wait a little more as they are preparing the room yet, standard check in time is 2PM and we were late purposefully coz we came from the northern part of Cebu that is quite far but still when we arrived around 5pm-ish, we still have to wait. 6. In totality, the experience is okay, and align with their rates, a decent one you can probably get a decent sleep. ?? Likely to come back if ever I'll be visiting Cebu sometime soon.
good hotel with excellense pool, breakfast good.staff are very nice and helpful.room clean and big.aircon quiet.good value for money, also near to atm machine and shopping.perfect place to stay if you want relax.
I and my wife booked online a month ago for a four day visit. My wife is a Philippina and I'm a permanent resident. Today I contacted the hotel to arrange a shuttle service. The reply was from a Jon Francis Sabanpan. The fee for two is 650 pesos which is fine. But he requested I forward a photo copy of the front and back of my credit card and a photo copy of my passport. I believe this to be intrusive and ridiculous. As they already have my credit card and personal details on file. A taxi from the airport needs no such ID. I have since cancelled my reservation and will never stay at a Best Western ever again.
We stayed there for three days, and they provided excellent service. The hotel was located in the downtown city of Cebu. It took about 30 minutes to get to the airport, but it took more than three hours to reach the places where we could go snorkeling. If anyone wants to go snorkeling, I would recommend staying somewhere closer to the port. They had strict access control, but the access cards somehow didn't work well. Except that, everything was great in the hotel. For those who want to stay in the downtown city, I'd recommend here.
this hotel is in near in busy city of cebu. near in mall , fine restaurant and fastfood. but traffict area and poluted outside, ofcourse it's in city. i gave 2 stars and why i will not coming back again because this hotel riped you off. these the reason why im not happy and i will not coming back again. i didnt have picture coz im not typical girl who loves taking picture. i book 4days and 3nights , because i want my family and friends to enjoy a nice hotel. in my first day i checked in. they gave me the room. the room was fined but lots broken like the lock of the door and the toilet it cant flash, and the door we cant leave lock so they need to repair again. but in my last night i bring my friends to swimming pool there just two, we go to swimming pool. after a while 5minutes somebody just knock my door and said i need to pay for visitor fee for using swimming pool, 350php each. and i said whatt?? i thought its free because i been in lots of hotel its free plus they didnt put in there information that i need to pay. but instead they charges for 3 they charged me 5, and i said why its 1750, there only 3 including my brother. do you mean even guest need to pay im really pissed off because that's a lot of money. and we just not been long p. so i tell them so angry i will never came back and i will right them my review. there pool really is not enjoyable that why we cant stay long because its cold and not for a kids.the staff guard in pool there so strick. i call them how much per person to sleep in my hotel for a night for 4days they said for 3 adults is 4500php. were happy, because they dont need to go home but when 9:30pm came they just said mam sorry its 1500 per person everyday and there 3 so its 4500. and i just ask that 4pm ago and now my mom and brother need to travel far just go home because they dont do there job right. it's a late night and they need to go home . even we just share a room and they want us to pay higher than the room i paid. tsskk.. bad experience never again, ..
Service was professional and efficient. The check-in process was very organized and thorough. Money exchange at the front desk was sufficient. Quality of the room was ok, and the bathroom fixtures needs a bit of repair and replacement. Wi-fi worked adequately and the selection of sodas and snacks for the in-room honor bar was decent. The breakfast in the morning was served by the food and beverage staff who are very friendly. Check-out efficiency was superb, The bill was accurate. Everyone from the doorman to the front desk manager were kind and personable.
Awsome location for sinulog. Stayed here for sinulog with a bunch of friends and we definitely enjoyed our stay. Roof top has a pool with a great view of the city. Stayed at the roof top deck to see the firework during sinulog. Staff was very courteous and friendly even though it was a busy weekend. The buffet wasnt the best but it filled our stomach so i wouldnt complain about it. The only annoying part in our stay was their elevator. They only had one running elevator during their busiest week of the year which was somewhat annoying since we had to lineup to get to the elevator. Our room was all the way to the 10th floor so we didnt want to use the stairs as much. None the less, it was a great hotel to stay in.
Very good room, good food, nice staff, location okay but bit of a drive from the airport but taxis are cheap in Cebu (I used GRAB P400 to airport). McDonalds is next to the hotel which gives a cheap option for grub.
Decent size room with adequate facilities. The room did have an odour of smoke although we requested a non smoking room, so not sure how that could have happened but it wasn't bad enough to spoil our stay. There is a lot of traffic noise in some areas of the hotel but fortunately our room was not affected too badly. Staff were very helpful and attentive. We would stay here again.
Hotel is situated near fast food chains and approximately 15 mins walk to Ayala mall...which was destroyed by fire during my visit. Hotel breakfast is much better than most Best Western establishment. They have eggs to order and hotel staffs are super friendly. With traffic..It's about one hour to the airport. Bathroom have separate shower and bathtub with all the toiletries you need. Lots of taxi's outside but would recommend using Grab or Uber.
I was queueing in line at the lobby for check-out. There were foreigners before me but this charming and kind Front Desk Staff named Lloyd, gestured me to come forward. First, I appreciate the fact he asked me to come forward to facilitate my check-out though I was the last person in line and before me were foreigners. Second, I am a transgender and yet he addressed me as “Miss Fernandez”. It was a feeling of being recognized and being gender-sensitive. Thank you for that, Lloyd. You're the best! Keane of Sales, knowing me, duly noted my preferred salutation and facilitated my booking. I didn't ask him to note a “Miss” for the salutation. He proactively advised Reservations about it. Thank you, Keane. I am a hotelier myself and small things like these make a stay more memorable. I am also grateful to Ms. Angelie Palicte for being so warm in welcoming me whenever I visit the property. I will definitely stay again at Best Western Plus Lex Cebu!
Stayed here for a few nights and would stay here again for sure! The hotel was fantastic and super comfortable! The food in the restaurant was varied and also the breakfast was varied and great! The staff were very helpful and helped us organise many things for our stay.
Located close to Ayala Mall and the entertainment district of Mango Avenue. Rooms are very modern and well appointed. Efficient and friendly staff especially from desk. Plenty of restaurants close by including a smaller mall next door. Hotel has good quality wifi and offers a shuttle to and from Ayala Mall. Breakfast is a good quality buffet with a made to order egg station which happily also included a made to order pasta station. A very comfortable stay.
It was really great. Fast check in and check out, great food( lots of food choices), no long elevator queue, nice pool and great roof top view, great customer service. Everybody in the hotel is very courteous, When you go out of the hotel, the door man will always ask you if you need a taxi and will politely tell you to wait comfortably inside while he calls a taxi for you. It is located in the city center so maybe there are times you can hear cars passing but they do offer free noise cancellation earplugs so you can sleep comfortably. We stayed on the 5th floor and we were able to sleep comfortably even without the earplugs. They have good soundproofing.
This hotel is a fair distance from airport but was a nice surprise once we finally arrived. Rooms were comfortable and well maintained. Staff was very friendly and most helpful. Restaurant was average with food selection pretty good but pricing was a bit on the high side (not too bad). I will defiantly book her again on my next tip if available
After two weeks of travelling across the Philippines, staying in mostly subpar housing, it was a delight to retreat to the comfort of BW Lex Cebu. It is an impressive hotel with strong and relatively fast wifi, excellent and attentive staff, and a good location. We would absolutely stay there again. An excellent, excellent value for the money.
The hotel is clean and cosy, room was great and perfectly fitted with amenities. The service staff were polite and helpful as well. we especially appreciated the large variety of foods available at breakfast. The location is great, being near central city sights as well as the cebu south bus terminal and the harbour. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a stay in the city center!
Upon arriving after a long day touring south of the island. Check in was quick and efficient my room wasn't quite ready but I was kept only 10mins. The room was nice, like most 4* rooms with a good choice on the menu for room service The pool area in the roof too made it though, along with the pool itself, the views, bar, gym area were fabulous! Didn't feel crowded at all for the size of the area Breakfast could have had More choice but what was there was still lovely with friendly cook staff to boot. All staff were amazing in the hotel. There is one downside - DON'T HAVE A MASSAGE ! Though it's only $17aud. The lady turned up 15 minutes late, They do it in your room - on the bed.. (that I find quite personal having a stranger climb on the bed in sleeping on, let alone the oils on the sheets being left afterwards - then having to sleep on it. ) then massage was more of a body rub than massage , though I'd asked for aromatherapy massage the start she held her hands above me with the lovely smelling oil then just used baby oil it seemed as there was no smell the remaining time. The massage was quite rough and she hit me with her hand - by mistake granted but on my head a couple of times, didn't apologies and when she was behind my head kept leaning on my hair and pulling it to massage my arms. All in all the worse most uncomfortable massage I've ever had and couldn't wait for it to be over!
Still one of the best places in Cebu City have been staying here for my last 5 years and still my choice, deluxe room is nice with even a 5tv in the bathroom :-),stayed 4 nights and if you can book early in advance and find nice prices this hotel have the best value,,godd staff nice roofdeck with swimmingpool breakfast is very nice, this time had one of the lower floors so it was noicy from the road, hope next time i can have highest floor ,the wifi was little bit up and down but it was mostly ok,the check out is little bit slow exactly as last year had to wait 20 minutes before all clear to leave,so if you are in a hurry check out early But this is anyway my Nr 1 hotel in Cebu
I stayed one night on late December 2017 and had a very good experience. The staff is fantastic. So helpful. Check in as well as check out was quick. Got a very quiet room on the 10th floor (had requested a quiet room ;-). The bed was so comfortable. The room very large. All very clean. The breakfast offers some variety. The food quality was excellent. Not only egg station but also pasta station ;-) ... I just wished they had fresh fruit juices. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Definitely a great stay and should I come back to Cebu the Best Western will be on my list for sure. Btw the hotel is a mere 15 to 20 minutes easy walk to the Ayala mall where I got a very good and safe exchange rate at the Metro Supermarket in a small section of the store next to the grocery and the pharmacy (50 PHP to 1 USD while listed at 50.10 on Google that day).
This is one of our go-to hotels when on business trip in Cebu. Fast check-in, clean rooms, comfortable beds and clean sheets, good location and comes with buffet breakfast. Buffet breakfast has a number of food items, they have egg station, pasta station, cereals, local food viands, bread selections, cheese, and fresh fruits, and desserts. They have 2 elevators but one was out of order during our stay, so takes awhile if you need to the elevator.
Stayed for 7 nights and was generally satisfied with the staff, room space and cleanliness, amenities. The pool at the rooftop is okay, but could use a change of clearer water. Breakfast menu has enough variety. Downsides; shower water temperature a little difficult to maintain, credit card details required for airport pick-up reservation (don't bother, take the white taxi which costs just a little over 200 pesos from the airport). If internet is choppy, ask reception to give you the room number connection. Finally, a word of caution: hide your medicines which could be mistaken as viagra - my prescription capsule medicine disappeared from my room...
Been here with my family and we love this hotel because of their service. High standard for a reasonable price!! Great buffet breakfast. Choose pancake, bread, cakes, eggs any style, drinks fruit, and all fresh!! But what I appreciate the most is the kindness and service of every staff in this hotel. For example, housekeeping knocked on our door 2 times per say if everything is alright, normally I am used to 'clean the room only' from this department but they do a bit extra. Rooms were good. I go back when I m in Cebu
This is a good and clean hotel just outside the shopping area, but you can get there by taxi, if you like. The hotel seems to be quite new and everything is working well. The staff is kind and helpful even though sometimes there might be some communications problems in English. The breakfast offers a wide selection of food, so it helps you to start a day. All quite close (by taxi) to the harbour if you like visit Bohol.
We stayed one night at this hotel and we had a nice experience, the staff is friendly, food is good and the breakfast buffet was a lovely surprise. Rooms are clean , the bed is really big and confortable, that's not something common in The Philippines Do not forget to try the infinity pool!
Good experience for the amount of money would recommended the place personnel beyond expectation polite and care about the customer ,,,,,,I would return to this hotel maybe a little bit more knowledge about English but not a issue
Stayed at The lex 2 times. The staff is very friendly and professional. The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable. The restaurant provides good quality and large variety of food & drinks. The infinity pool and facilities on the top floor is amazing. Special orders comes from the resto/bar downstairs and brought to you whilst relaxing in your chair / lounge or pool. Fitness-room there as well. The view is great. Top quality.
Stayed here for two nights in 2016. The staff were wonderful and accommodating and the room was spacious for the three of us. We did not book ahead of time and instead, tried our luck for a room since we looked online and seen the great reviews. Anyway, when we arrived at the hotel, they gave us free drinks while we were waiting at couch for the room to be tidied up since we were there at 12pm but they were gracious enough to let us relax in the room as soon as it was tidied up even though the check in was at 3pm. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The served lechon so early in the morning and since Cebu is well known for their lechon, the one they served did not disappoint. As much as I can remember, there was a variety of options to choose from at the buffet table. There were different breads, and egg station, different viands, rice, fruits and different desserts. At the rooftop is where the pool is located and some tables where you can munch on some food or some snacks or have a drink. We decided to have a cocktail or two while overlooking the city of Cebu while we were there. I would definitely come stay again whenever I get the chance to go to Cebu.
Very clean and secured place to stay. Breakfast buffet included with the stay which is a plus. The food is also excellent. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom. Each room has its own hair dryer, a robe, slippers, safety box, refrigerator, and other basic things needed in a hotel. They also have transport if needed to go places. Swimming pool at the rooftop. Parking available in the basement. The hotel is located to a lot of restaurants and in the city proper. I definitely recommend this hotel.
Delicious continental breakfast. Nice staff, ready to help. Rooms are good decorated and clean. No noise problem. Location is acceptable, taxi is needed to go to tourist attractions. High satisfaction despite its price.
Me and my partner came up to a plan where on every anniversary of us, we will be staying in a hotel, a one or more nights. So one of our best choices for our first anniversary is a staycation style, that's why we picked Lex Cebu. It was a good trip, we really liked our stay. For one night we were able to enjoy the hotel facilities, spending our quality time in the gym and swimming at the good looking infinity pool, enjoyed the buffet breakfast as well. Thanks to the reservations team for accommodating our request for considering to change our stay dates. Overall, it was a good choice to have Lex as part of our anniversary memories. Will surely come back here soon. Cheers!!
almost overtime i go cebu ,my first choice is this hotel, its convenient , near to food junctions. the buffet spread in the morning is satisfying the rooms are clean and comfortable beds, though the rooms are not as spacious as some hotels but its acceptable.
Friendly not too big superb Hotel Staff are very willing, rooms are very modern and clean Breakfast is superb The pool and bar area is spectacular but only downside can be very slippery when it rains. ( not ideal for children). We shall return.
I stayed in this hotel from 30 Sep – 2 Oct for two nights me and with my boyfriend. I would like to tell you my comments about the hotel. Staffs: They are very friendly and helpful. My check-in was very quick and immediately I got the room key. Ms. Welma was very good and kept her beautiful smile on her face always. Rooms: Rooms are very well maintained with modern amenities. Bathroom is very clean and it has a glass view from the bed. So my boyfriend could enjoy my bath from the bed and of course me too enjoy his bathing. Wifi: Wifi had very good speed in the lobby and the same speed maintained in the room also. It is very rare in the hotels. Elevators: They have two elevator and it should use with room key to go up. It is part of guest's security. Breakfast: It was next to lobby. They served different kinds of tasty foods and omelt also served on demand Pool: Pool is one the floor “D”. This is a very small pool with 4ft depth. We can see the beautiful view of cebu city from the pool. Pool open from 6 AM to 10 PM. But they have only few hours service of a pool lifeguard. Hey will leave after some hours. Actually this pool doesn't need a lifeguard because it has only 4ft depth. I could swim in the pool nakedly with my boyfriend around 1 hour because pool was empty. I could see many nightlife lovers making problem with lobby staff because of their guest fee. After 10 PM they charge 1500 PHP as guest fee which is very high amount. I feel it will reduce their business and I request to night lovers that not to book this hotel because of guest fee. Otherwise this is the best hotel in the Cebu.
Spent first night in Cebu here and then returned for the last two nights of our Cebu trip. Would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff were excellent, courteous and respectful. The rooms were spotless. Best bed ever! All amenities first rate. Infinity pool was awesome. The breakfasts are brilliant - best omelettes. Every staff member I had dealings with was so happy and did everything they could to please.
had lovely stay here , breakfast very good -staff excellent - room very good quiet on 9th floor pool lovely - room service the best ever and laundry the tops and fast all good bar the people smoking next door for 3 days - they should have been removed very bad smell - i got a 3500 refund as comp thanks guys i look forward to returning symon brown
it was really a fun experience. i super like their infinity pool.. plus at night you got to enjoy the view of the city...their staffs were also very friendly..and the lobby looks very sophisticated...
This hotel is the most amazing hotel with pool and a city view ..the price is worth the stay and the room is huge and sophisticated ,wifi is great and its quite as well even if its beside the traffic area in cebu
This is a really nice hotel with clean and fresh rooms. I Love the rooftop that has a bar and a pool. And i Love the view over the city! The food in the resturant is also great. Would definitely come back here again
Had stayed in Best Western Lex for 2 nights from 8th to 10th September with 5 friends of mine. JUST 5 mins walk from mango square where all the action takes place. Taxis easily available, 7/11 just next to the hotel. perfect Security makes u feel safe. Wonderful Swimmimg Pool with rooftop bar. Top of it, all staff were always smiling & want to help you out as far as possible, Wat i liked the most about this property is the wonderful cheerful attitude of all staff. They were always smiling and it seemed so welcome. Felt like home. My only issue was with the breakfast, they didn't had much spread in Vegetarian b/fast. Being an INDIAN & pure Vegeterian (no eggs also) it was little difficult to have only fruits, tea, coffee & Juices for B/fast. Only suggestion is to make more vegetarian cuisine (bread without eggs). I wud rate 9/10 to this Hotel. One more thing, one day we missed our b/fast due to some reason so they called up after b/afst time and arranged some fruits & Juices (since we wanted only veg b/fast) in our room and that was so nice of them. Thanks Best Western Plus Lex Cebu.. Looking forward to stay with u in future a swell.. -- RAJESH SHAH MUMBAI
clean rooms, comfy beds, clean and modern bathroom, helpful staff, centrally located with restaurants within walking distance from the hotel- mcdonald's, jollibee, zubuchon, starbucks, coffee bean, even a nearby 7-eleven. transportation is not a problem since lots of taxi cabs and jeepneys pass by escario. Although, buffet breakfast needs improvement.
If you will be vacationing (and you are for high standards) and you want to get the best value for your money, I'd say this is THE hotel to stay at. You cannot keep on eating at the hotel, right? So here, there are 24 hour fast-food chains close by. There's more mid- range priced restos too for lunch and dinner. The room is beautiful and the bathroom too. Request for a room with a view. There's breakfast buffet and the pool! Wow!
The hotel is just located in Escario so it's accessible. We only used the pool. I like that the pool is located at the roof top of the hotel where you can have a skyline view. the pool is clean and the staffs are accomodating. We really enjoyed our afternoon swim.
Great hotel. Not too spacious however it was absolutely clean. People in the hotel were very accommodating. It was also accessible to restaurant and especially night life. Wish i could have stayed here even longer.
Stayed here only for a night but I definitely wish we could have stayed longer. We were greeted by corteous and very accommodating staff. Looking around the hotel, it was very well maintained. They have an infinity pool looking over the city at the rooftop which was mind blowingly awesome! They also have a gym perfect for that morning grind. ;) The room was just perfect. It was obvious that every detail was thought of. The bed was soo comfortable that I was out almost as soon as i plunged in. In the morning they served us with breakfast to go since we were leaving for the airport already. The food was still hot (love the tablea hot choco!) and nice it felt like a warm hug sending us home. <3
Good location with many restaurant nearby. Clean, big enough and tidy room. Excellent buffet breakfast with many choices. This hotel looks newly built with a pool at the roof. Good night view at roof pool bar. I will stay again, sure.
I wasn't expecting to love a Best Western that I stayed in for just 1 nite in Cebu City; however, this was definitely a favorite hotel of mine in the Philippines! While it is located quite a distance from the airport, it is close to Ayala mall, the south bus terminal, and other local destinations. The staff is great! So friendly, helpful, and even suggested I look elsewhere for a better rate for currency exchange before using theirs. The room was so comfortable, clean, modern, with a great shower and toiletries. The wi-fi was excellent as well. The 2 things that I loved the most were the infinity pool on the rooftop as well as the breakfast buffet. By far, this was the best breakfast I had in the Philippines (shout out to the spaghetti and pork belly) in terms of taste and selection. It is also very affordable. Everything was great about this hotel!
....This is my first time to stay here. Checking-in is easy and straight forward, I was told everything that I need to know. A welcome refreshing drink was handed to me while doing the process. Front desk staff are cheerful and accommodating. The lady helped with my additional queries about early airport transfer the next day as I am taking the early flight to Hong Kong. She booked one for me and told me that I can sign the receipt later after I am settled in. I went up to my room and my luggage and bike bag followed shortly. By the way, they have an option to put big luggages in a storage but I asked to have my bike in my room as I still need to do a last minute check to get rid of the items not allowed on the flight. ....The fresh smell is a welcoming treat when I entered my spacious room with a king size bed and everything that I would need for my short stay. View of the city's busy street can be seen from my room window but it's ok as it's just a short stay. The phone rang after a while, it's the front desk checking if everything is in order and I said it's all good. It has a very spacious toilet and bath with everything that you would need during your stay. ....It was mid afternoon and I haven't eaten lunch yet so I went to the hotel's Kai Restaurant, ordered one my favourite grilled pork belly. The service was quick, the staff are really courteous and the food tastes great. Their version of grilled pork belly is nice, it's juicy and tender with matching eggplant and salted egg salad laid on lettuce, paired with a squeezed fresh green mango. What a sumptuous meal. ....I had a restful sleep, though it is short coz I need to go to the airport at 4am. The airport transfer went well, with a packed breakfast but the coffee spilled along the way, probably the lid was not properly in place so I ended up leaving it with the driver but I really appreciate the thought of the packed breakfast if you are leaving the hotel early. ....The place is modern but cozy, as some modern designed establishment tend to be cold in atmosphere. it's a well balanced design, it offers a restful and relaxed environment, the room is lighted adequately, and the corridors as well without being too bright. no dislikes so far as it's a very short stay and everything lived up to my expectation. There's one thing that bothered me though, one of the cove light in the toilet keeps turning on and off by itself, it's quite annoying coz it makes a sound at the same time. Also I really like the control of the air condition on the wall rather than with a remote but it's not a centralised a/c system so no big deal. I will definitely be back to stay here a bit longer in the future hopefully with my family and enjoy some of the amenities that I didn't have the change to try.
Stayed in 3 different hotels in Cebu during the summer..and this was the best one of those three. Checking in you are met with fresh juice (nice touch) and our 3 business rooms was soon ready. Good room size, big bathroom..great shower. Wifi worked well. Breakfast area gets a bit full, having to eat in the reception also feels a bit weird. Lots of looks.. Ok selection of food (for Cebu). Charging extra for other then black coffee is a bit poor. Nice pool on the top of the hotel, although was raining every day during our stay..and pool was therefore closed. This is a great option in Cebu..especially given the price.
Good location, average breakfast and very friendly staff. The bar on the roof is a place where you can chill, swim in the small swimming pool and have a drink or two. The room was good, carpeted, clean and quiet. Shower water pressure was weak but hey, there was at least hot water :) Wifi was good enough to do some work too.
The hotel is overall good, though maybe a tag old. Still, excellent conditions, and the room was very spacious and well structured. I liked the position, very central and close to several restaurants, bars and malls. Great bed, very very comfortable. Aircon in the right place so it's never shooting cold air to your face while in bed, and to be honest I kept it switched off most of the time as for some reason the temperature was almost always perfect on its own. Great bathroom (some adjustment/maintenance here and there may be needed). The staff is very kind and attentive, which is always pleasant, though I had some issues with basic stuff (see the negative section). Overall positive opinion though, just need some more training and attention to details, nothing bad. The best thing though is their massage service. They have a contract with a massage company who sends a professional masseuse to your room within 30 minutes for PHP 600 (which is less than USD12.00. My back was in great pain as soon as I arrived, so during the check in at 6.40 they called the service and in 20 minutes I was being taken care of with very professional attitude. Awesome service, absolutely recommended! And now for the bad part... Here's some background: I was there for two days during which I had to work full time. So what I needed was silence, comfort and good internet. 1. Internet is fine from the lobby, but at least from my room was not as fast as I needed, so had to use my phone's data roaming. This happens in many hotels, but I was hoping Best Western to be better at it. 2. Check out is at 12, so as I still had to work full day before my evening flight, I asked it they had a business lounge where I could work from, or if I should have asked for late checkout (which comes at a price of 1/2 the room rate). The answer was that they had a business centre which was free to use and I would have been able to just go there. I asked again in the morning to make sure it was a quiet place as I had several meetings to take. ...The Business Centre is a small room with three unstable desks, two of which are occupied by desktop computer. The noise from the street is loud. There is no service whatsoever and you cannot bring coffee or food (no working lunch!). 3. On top of it, they had a big private function in the hall next door with VERY loud disco music the whole afternoon! So imagine, a business centre where you cannot do business!! Aside from the hassle of having to complain to no purpose (it's not like they could cancel the function!), what bothered me was that I specifically asked if it was a quiet place or if I should have paid for late check out, and they told me it was not necessary! Final thing: the restaurant. It's super disorganised. Looks real nice, but they don't know how to run it effectively. - Tables often left there without cleaning them while the staff was having a chat. - Endless waiting before taking an order - VERY long wait before getting any food - Ask for a coffee, and after they take the time to bring it, you need to also ask for sugar, a spoon and a towel because they don't think of it.
We stayed for an overnight here last July 31 with my parents and the check in is very easy and fast. The hotel is nice and clean, the staff are accommodating and friendly. The Bed is comfortable and the toilet is spacious and clean. They have the infinity pool at the top of the hotel and it has a nice view of the city. The Lobby transforms into a breakfast table in the morning and they offer a wide variety of food from Filipino to international Cuisine...with lots of choices of pastries... Definitely i will stay on this Hotel again and recommend to my friends..
The location is accessible to Ayala Mall. The room is huge and clean. Friendly Staff. The taste of the food is so so Wi-Fi service in the room is poor. The Pool is not big. Room service charge is quite high.
Good hotel. Rooms and big and clean but a bit dated. Bathrooms are clean but bit dated. Staff is friendly and breakfast is very good. Location is fantastic though can get pretty noisy sometimes. Would suggest stay on a higher floor. Close to restaurants, shopping, night life.
Stayed total of 5 nights in 2 separate rooms. First room was a deluxe business class -spacious, clean and comfortable. Second room was a superior room. Still clean & comfy but shower temp not working well. May get noisy at night.
Awesome experience . super hotel . far far better for a business purpose . .I noticed 2 negative points . one ..water from the wash basin drain so slow .. & noise from the corridor. Well there were some "family'"with small kids .. Wanna celebrate their bday on July 1 .. 12 am .. Hehehehe wake up with birthday song .. But its some ones joy .. Don't wanted to spoil it by complaining ..
From a size perspective, Lex counts as a boutique size hotel. But don't let it's boutique size fool you, the hotel packs all that a global or local traveler would expect to find in a "business" class hotel. Here are some reasons why I am extremely happy with my stay in Lex (as of writing, I actually am still billeted at this hotel). 1.) Carpeted Room - you'd be surprised that hotels that equal Lex in terms of size and class does not have fully carpeted rooms. Lex rooms top all others with this feature, given some only have tiled floors and a rug. You may expect that their fancy name and location guarantee a carpeted floor, not the case for Lex's neighboring competitors. So there, must I say more. If you fancy carpeted floors, Lex is your guaranteed option. I recommend googling pictures of the rooms of Lex's nearby competitors, use search tags like this: "Name of hotel" + "Cebu" + "Room" , then click the "Images" tab on google. Take a sharp look at how their rooms look like and compare it to Lex's. If you fancy carpeted rooms, Lex is your guaranteed option. 2.) Bacon - say what? From carpeted floors to bacon? I'll tell you why bacon matters (unless you are vegan, skip this note) A proper breakfast matters to any travel either for business or pleasure. Every hotel accommodation package pairs up their rooms with breakfast and so does Lex of course. But one thing I'd share about Lex's breakfast buffet is the amount of work they put in to complete a more than decent or acceptable buffet - I've observed that they pretty much do their best to complete around 10 quaint stations (options), allow me to enumerate to the best of my ability: Soup & Salad, Fruit & Veg, Pasta & Eggs, Rice & Filipino Breakfast, Roast & Bacon (roast dish can either be pork or chicken), Cheese & hors d'oeuvres, Pancakes, Dessert, Breads & Cereals. I go on about all the detail I see in their buffet, but what I like is that the buffet speaks so much sense, without missing out what you potentially imagine for breakfast. In essence, we ask ourselves: "What would I want for breakfast?" - come down to the Lex buffet and see for yourself. I've also noticed locals and backpackers who are not actually billeted in Lex, yet make it an effort to have their breakfast here - I'd say that is an obvious reason that breakfast at Lex is quite memorable. On weekends, I prefer to sleep longer, wake up around 10am or 11am. But when I am here in Lex, I set up my alarm to 7 or 8 to make sure I don't miss the Lex breakfast. Oh, the bacon - yep - it never runs out - a dedicated chef makes sure it's refilled to the top. This is something I do not see in other hotel breakfast buffets - unlimited bacon. You can never go wrong with unlimited bacon for breakfast! (Vegan's fret not, there's a salad and fruit station, if you can tolerate eggs and milk, there's unlimited supply as well). 3.) Service - everyone is just nice, pleasant, courteous and professional. Going back to breakfast a bit, since I've been staying here for quite a while - the guy who prepares eggs for every customer at the buffet is just quite commendable. On day 3 of my stay, I usually proceed straight to the salad station - as I sit on my table, the guy who prepares the eggs, approaches and politely places 2 eggs: sunny side up - over easy on my table - just the way I want it. Imagine that, without the need to approach the station and ask for my eggs, the staff just knows exactly what I want to the T. Very commendable. Room service does not take forever, everyone moves so prompt, smart and fast here. There are days I don't put up the "clean my room" sign - on such days they would call my room and offer to just send bottled water or fresh towels. :) 4.) The best of Sunny Cebu - want a tan? If you are too lazy to hit the beach, say Malapascua or Bantayan, the Lex pool deck serves the purpose of helping you with your tan at less cost. The location of the building is positioned so strategic that the pool deck has the face of the sun 80% on its surface. I've seen travelers basking in the sun on the deck just as how they would at the beach. Also if you prefer the sun shining on your room, you can opt to get the rooms facing the Old Capitol side of the building. 5.) Key card access - no bulky keys or key chains. Fits right at your wallet or money clip. Caution: do not have your key card close to your credit card or any other form of magnet or magnet strip. I remember one of my key cards not working and the front desk asked if I had it close to my credit card - they did replace my other key with a new one. 6.) The best showers - hot water never runs out. I never experienced a morning or any time of the day that I had to shiver out of the showers for not having continuously running hot water. 7.) Super fast Wifi - I mean it, swear, it's fast and reliable. If you prefer to do work emails on your laptop or stream movies on your tablet or phone while in your room, the Lex wifi will deliver - it will not frustrate you. From the lobby to the pool deck - wifi is just to reliable. 8.) A tiny gym - I actually have a membership at some other international franchise gym that has branches here in the Ph. Nevertheless I find the Lex gym, quite an acceptable gym for anyone who needs to catch up on cardio to burn the extra bacon or croissant they had for breakfast. A gym for anyone who probably just thinks of balancing out exercise with what they eat, I wouldn't recommend it for a seasonal athlete in town for IronMan in need of continuous plyometrics cross training or muscle strengthening. But a gym is a gym - not all boutique hotels have amenities for a gym - so having one at Lex is quite a feature. 9.) The Swimming Pool - got kids travelling with you? For sure, they will look for a pool - this one is enough for their whim. Training for IronMan? - probably not the right pool for you, this is a leisure pool. I can actually swim across without breathing. Hahhaa! 10.) The Kai night time bar and Pool deck bar - I never tried doing a night out here actually, but the pool deck does offer a nice lounge for those needing a night cap. Same for the lobby bar, I guess it's quite enough - but not too crazy and busy that it will rob guests of a good night sleep because of the noise.
We stayed three nights at the hotel and we enjoyed it a lot. The highlight was the roof pool which is quite small but during our stay it was never crowded, most of the time nobody was inside and the terrace is a great place to relax. The breakfast was delicious, the selection was not that wide but definitely sufficient. The location is very safe with many good restaurants and shops around. It is in the walking distance of Fuente Osmena and the local Larsian street food place. There is a really good and cheap massage saloon just around the corner. The only problem was regarding our transfer from the airport which was paid in advance but nobody waited for us so we had to take one of the airport taxis, but fortunately we were not ripped of by him :-) The receptionist apologized and gave us a credit for minibar instead. We would definitely choose this hotel for our next stay if we come back to Cebu City.
We have stayed in this hotel in 2015 and we were satisfied therefore when we needed to stay overnight in Cebu City this year, it was an easy choice to choose this hotel again. Price is reasonable and their bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is very good as well. If there is anything to complain, it was the staff who manned the reception on the night we were there when we asked if we could exchange our dollar to pesos. The lady asked how much are we going to exchange and right after we said the amount, she said, Oh I am sorry, we don't have any pesos for the moment. Really? So why ask us? Sounds almost like a joke. Anyway, she recommended us to go to the money changer across the street. So we did. Little did we know, it was an adventure I wished we did not need to experience. First the traffic light was made for motorists. When it was green for the pedestrians to walk, the street across gets a green to go. And for those who have been in the Phils., many drivers do not stop for pedestrians. When we managed begging drivers to let us pass to get across the street, we walked in a semi-dark pavement til we reached the money changer. It was a small one, like a shed and it smelled a peculiar smell when we entered. Right before the money changer was a man lying down on the pavement in a dark area. Clearly a beggar but could easily mugged us. God knows. Due to the bad conversion rate we were offered and a man lying outside this money changer in a dark alley, we decided to go back to the hotel. But before that, we have to go through a scary ordeal again in crossing the street which was just right infront of us. When we safely got back to the hotel, I told this lady how horrifying was our experience. I asked her to call their manager and ask if they have pesos to exchange for us. How could a hotel receptionist suggests their guests to go through a harrowing experience and almost got ran over by motorists. One of the men manning the reception heard the conversation. He got on the phone, called up someone and then informed us they could exchange the money we needed. You know what, the staff should know that they have guests who are not used to the crazy traffic culture in Cebu. The motorcyclists even drive in areas where it is meant for pedestrians to walk. Not only that, you don't send off guests to walk in semi-dark roads. Even if this experience scared the hell out of us, I think I will stay here in this hotel again. But I will be more assertive next time when I talked to these people in the reception esp when I need to exchange some dollar to pesos. And if they don't have any pesos available, they should as well hide their sign that they could help their guests in that aspect.
The location of this hotel is awesome. Eateries right outside the front door. The hotel was nice, welcoming, and clean. The staff were amazing and friendly. The breakfast buffet was very good. We had 3 rooms. The rooms were clean. The hotel had free wifi. There was a rooftop pool which we did not use. It looked nice.
Stayed 9 nights in this establishment . Fairly conveniently placed to Ayala mall as well as Cebu Doctors hospital . Room experience pretty much based on wether you get placed at a high level away from traffic noise . Corner rooms with windows on both sides quite pleasant . Lower floor rooms noisy and some are meant to be windowless . Beds comfortable . Pillows pleasant if you enjoy sleeping on concrete ... Bath tub and bathroom very spacious . Shower large and comfortable . Business centre virtually non existent and confidential documents need to be emailed to reception staff for them to print on an inferior home computer printer .... this at a whopping P 20 a page ... and don't be in a hurry , the process can take hours .... Was unable to get WIFI service in room . Pool small and crowded Room service overpriced and mediocre in quality . General cleanliness - acceptable Breakfast service varies as chef can be slow and forgetful had to order twice today as he forgot first order . Assortment of western food ie cheese not always topped up and it's pretty much first come first served meaning that if your late you get the scraps Restaurant staff though generally best asset for the hotel as always cheerful and courteous . Would I stay again ?? Probably if I was guaranteed similar room or high floor corner and had no urgent business matters to attend to ... otherwise not
Have to say the hotel is nice and with a good location : not that far from the bus Stations, airport, ferry terminal and city center. The room was very clean, I loved the pool on the last floor. Wifi was fast . Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was one of the best I had since I landed in Philippines , with a lot of choices.Try not to go that late,as it tends to get quite crowded. They provide storage room for your belongings in case of late check out/early check in .
This hotel offered us relief from all the bad hotels we stayed in in Cebu and Palawan. It's centrally located, only a short taxi ride away from most sights and the south bus terminal, from which it's easy to catch a bus to places like Oslob or Moalboal. During rush hour best to assume it will take at least an hour to get to the airport. The rooms are clean, tidy and well maintained. The breakfast is great, but can get crowded. The pool area is on the roof and offers a fantastic view from the infinity pool. The pool bar also has quite a large menu. I can definitely recommend this hotel as it will put you in the heart of Cebu, close to anywhere you'd like to go.
The perfect location and the size of the hotel is just right. Great selections for the breakfast buffet. And oh! I love the sheets and the towels are extra large... felt luxurious. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends!
comfortable bed, very good amenities and breakfast buffet to die for:) highly recommended as a stop over. and the roof bar and swimming pool are just an addition you can't really miss if staying there.
I stayed at the hotel for a period of 14 nights and this is my resume: Staff: very friendly and always worried about giving you the most comfortable stay. Breakfast: broad variety of local and delicious international food. Room: run down furniture and moldy shower. Very funny smell. Pool: probably the best pool you can get in Cebu. Swim and enjoy the view on top of the building.
I only wish when i first came to cebu for 5 nights i stayed here. I stayed at the radisson blu and didnt like it at all. Ghe only one reason i didnt give it 5 stars is because the girl who checked me in and the one out were slightly lacking. I had to ask about my breakfast upon checkin, wasny informed. The one ulon checkout never gave me my breakfast to go. At 4am i wasnt thinking lol. Otherwise room was great, clean. Very comfortable bed. Liked the lication with shuttle to the mall. Breakfast buffet was great, so was the pastry chef, kind Nd attentive. With out a doubt would stay here again.
Going back home in the Philippines and being able to be reunited with the family is such a wonderful feeling. We stayed in this hotel and cant complain of the service and food. So much choices for breakfast. the pool was on top of the building. It may get cold for night swimming so we did not stay for long. it has blue lights at night. We had no time time for day swimming so was not sure how its is like there during the day. the front desk gets busy at most times. Cabs were always full so if you need one especially at night, you need to come down on the lobby 1 hour early. We went there close to Sinulog time and they said it really gets busy during this month. I will still recommend this Hotel for a good stay in Cebu City. It is worth the price!
Good hôtel good service Good breakfast i will recommend it for short Travel period on vacation. Better for work/business period. Nearby Fuentes circle. WE now are living for best western Union palawan. Will tell you about that.
Stayed here one night before flying back to UK. The Hotel is modern with well appointed rooms and nice bathrooms. The Buffet breakfast was superb and we also eat in the restaurant which was good. Its not the cheapest place to stay but for one night was worth it and the view from the roof top pool is great.
Business class room was tidy & big. We arrived late because of our delayed flight, i have prepaid the room a few days before, and also requested for an extra bed, check in took so long, the paid for the extra bed upon check in, then when we went to our room the extra bed i paid for was not yet ready, i had to call the housekeeping to follow up. They will not allow you for a late check out even if you are a best western rewards member.
We expected quite a lot from this hotel based on its previous reviews and photos and boy were we surprised. We arrived early and were greater by a lovely receptionist who took our bags so we could use the pool while the room was prepared. We were given welcome drinks and shown to the pool. This far surpassed what we expected it was nicer and the view even better in person! The bar has everything you could think of and made lovely cocktails. Our room was massive and the bed big enough to fit four people never mind two. The bathroom was big and modern with everything you expect from such a nice hotel. We visited the restaurant that night and it's menu was refreshing as it had dishes I had not seen on many menus here in the Philippines like sizzling fajitas etc. And don't get me started on breakfast from pastries to cakes to an omelette station they had anything you could think of. I look forward to my next visit.
I stayed in this beautiful property for 4 nights with my friend, we came together for a short holiday to discover this island, and it happened to be in Holly week before Easter, the location of this hotel is convinient which is close to airport in mactan island and close to start trips in the north of the island, also close to SkyWalk experience. also it surrounded by fastfood restairants and pharmacy and coffee houses the room is very nicely decorated but it did not have a view at all but it gave enough sunlight "room 915" rooftop is very nice with infinity pool and a view of the green mountains, nice food menu as well breakfast is very rich with many options from food to eggs to sweets and fruit, I just loved it Staff are veryyyyy friendly and willing to help with anything even with trips ideas and what to do in the city, so I recommend this hotel as starting point to discover this island
I travel for business, I travel for fun. I have stayed over 3000 nights in hotels over the years and have a tendency to review only the best and the worst. I need to vent but since the manager doesn't arrive until 930 (it's now 8 am) this forum will have to do. I booked 5 days non refundable on booking .com. I noted throughout the process I would be arriving early (redeye flight). I asked via email and was not told if possible and to arrive at ask when checkin in. (This is an abdication of customer service...they know how booked they are and could have let me know but instead throughout the booking process chose to offer this tepid standard response ). I arrived at the hotel and despite asking twice if my room was ready was only responded with passport and credit card please. Only after my information and credit card was collected was I informed no rooms "until about 2". This was by John, the front desk clerk who is the most arrogant, smug, and disdainful of understanding the situation clerk who I have ever checked in. He made a bad situation worse with his laughter. This left me with two options. Fight or Flight. I called booking who told me the hotel would not be refunding t he money. My choices. :Yes, I can wait; yes, I can get the first room, but the combination of staff indifference and john's arrogance and the fact the manager works banking hours tells me this is a property with problems. Obviously she has not spent any time observing or coaching John on conflict resolution. So, it cost me $323 to learn this lesson to avoid this hotel... I say buyer beware.
Originally my booking is only for 1 room for 3 nights due to changes in our schedule, but through the help of Mr. Jon of reservations, he allowed me to take 3 rooms for one night in spite of the same day notice, (Note: one room was upgraded to business room even I did not ask for it) which I find it very helpful and a very professional way of providing customer service, so I highly commend him for doing it so. Check-in with Ms. Wilma is smooth though there is a delay in giving as the room upon arrival, (yet I fully understand due to my short notice) She's accommodating and polite, offered a welcome drinks and internet access while waiting for the rooms to be given. The rest of the staffs are all pleasant from HK, attendants in their roof deck bar, and F&B. Lift is secured and can be access only with the room key card, which makes you feel safe as an in-house guest. Infinity Pool and roof deck bar is perfect place to seat and relax in the evening after a whole day trip around the city. Rooms are huge, clean and comfortable enough to recharge yourself from a hectic day out, their business room has bath tub with a smart T.V. which makes you wish to stay inside for the whole day. Mini bar is also available in the room. But if you plan not to consume it due to its costs, convenience stores and restaurants are available just walking distance from the area. Breakfast option is wide and tasty, pasta and omelet station are also available in the corner, the odd thing is they are using the lobby as the breakfast area which is little bit awkward. Just want to raise as well the tightness of the underground parking, you really have to be a good driver so you can park your car that easy. Overall, stay is very good, i highly recommend this hotel for business and pleasure purpose travel.
Stayed one night en route to Oslob for Whaleshark watching. Stayed in a very spacious and comfortable Business Room...but unfortunately had to check out at 5am...so not able to comment on breakfast.! Rooftop pool very good, if a little small for the number of guests around.. cold drinks in the comfortable rooftop lounge area very welcome. All in all, a brief but very comfortable stay, and certainly up to the high standards i'd expect from a Best Western Plus. Would recommend.
The staff at this hotel went beyond our expectations. They even made us a to go breakfast at 5:00 in the morning, went to swim with the whale sharks. The location is near Mango Bar and rooms were very nice.
Personally I think there were many points that hotel should improve. First was the cleanliness in the room especially bahtroom. Bahtroom floor was moldy. Shower temperature was uncontrollable. It was either very hot or cold. Breakfast was a bit disappointed. Orange juice was just a sugar water with orange color. Omelet was so so. We expected more choices of food. The hotel didn't have enough space for breakfast so instead they set up table at the lobby. The best thing of this hotel was all the staff. They were all friendly and helpful. Overall good enough stay but we expect more from Best western.
We stayed here for one night to catch a flight. This has all the modern conveniences. We took the hotel shuttle to the Ayala mall close by. On checkout at 4 am in the morning, we had to wait for someone to check the mini-bar and then needed a clearance chit from the front desk to exit the front door to catch the taxi. Not the best departing impression.
Nice standard modern hotel. Clean and pleasant. Friendly staff. Food in the restaurant was good. A bit nicer than average breakfast. Enjoyed the rooftop pool. Hotel is a close walk to various points of interest and taxis are always at the ready for longer trips. One odd thing was if an item ordered on the roof top came from the kitchen, then I had to wait for a staff member from the kitchen to bring my bill to the roof. I didn't mind waiting, just felt guilty for causing them extra hassle. The roof bar POS should be able to print out the bill to save staff from running up and down the building every time someone checks out. Would stay here again.
for me the best hotel in cebu, nice rooms, great food, great staff, good roof pool ..only the traffic is around day and night ...but that's cebu ...so and now i have 35 more letter to write and nothing to complain

Hotel is well located with easy transportation.Taxi p475 from Cebu International airport.Roof top infinity pool is really good with approx 240degrees view of city. Pool only 4ft deep so good for all. Good multi-national breakfast buffet with plenty of choice. Room of good standard. Would have rated 5 but for disappointing lunch, which was very bland and tasteless. Staff excellent all round. So look no futher. This is worth the money.
Everything is nice in here even the staff. Good value for the money. Good breakfast selection with service crew who are all so nice. Close proximity to convinience stores and restaurants. Commendable service. Good tasting food.
This hotel was recommended by a relative and lived up to all the accolades. Hotel staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable, the rooms are extremely clean. The only issue was some of TV channels did not come in clearly but was not there to watch TV. Would recommend to any one going to Cebu.
After spending two months in the Philippines with my son's family we wanted something nice to end our stay. The Best Western Plus Lex was just the ticket. Excellent service, clean rooms, a really good breakfast and reasonably priced, tasty meals at the small restaurant on site. The room we had booked for our son and his two children wasn't quite suitable so the hotel staff went out of their way to find something more amenable to their needs. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
If youre in Cebu for business and looking for a business hotel that is not too pricey, try Lex hotel. Its located in one of the busiest steeets in the city and in front and side of it are establishments with restos, bars, pharmacy, convenience store etc. Rooms are unexpectedly spacious, having a nice, clean toilet. The only quirk is the toilet light as it opens automatically when it detects a person coming in.
A nice hotel, with a fantastic rooftop bar/restaurant, as well as a small swimming pool and a small gym. Walking distance to the Ayala mall. When we were walking to the hotel, near the entrance, a group of three girls were walking behind us. One of them did something to my wife's handbag but we didn't know exaclty what and after looking she didn't miss anything. Their security person at Best Western Lex was paying attention, and even though we were not inside the hotel yet, he noticed that something was going on. We came inside the hotel and went to the restaurant at the rooftop. And while we were enjoying our food in a romantic dinner under the moon, he managed to go after the girls, recover my wife's mobile and bring it to us, without us knowing that it was missing. We couldn't believe it. Amazing job. Once again, thank you. From the first minute we felt welcomed by a very friendly staff.
After arrival to the hotel we get room nr.310 with view to the machinery room because we were very tired and need sleep we don´t make a complaint. Waiting time for a breakfast 20 minutes because restaurant and also lobby before reception was crowded.
Originally, I cancelled my reservation because of bad weather. Bago kame lumipad, umokey na yung weather so I called the hotel and asked kung maaccomodate pa kame. Nireserve nila yung room, same price, same room same requests. So happy kame dun. Ok yung view ng nakuha naming room. Ok na ok yung room. ok yung restroom. may bathrobe, may toiletries. slippers etc. malinis, maayos. We love the buffet and we love the infinity pool sa roof deck. Mababaet yung mga staff. Although puro foreigner yung mga guests, the staff treated us the same. Overall, happy kame ng tropa ko. Will go back kung makabalik ako ng Cebu City.
The staff assigned me to a room which was already occupied. Imagine my shock when I opened the door and saw foot wear and an open luggage by the entrance. It appeared that the guest/s was/were bathing when I opened the door so he/she/they didn't realize someone inadvertently invaded their privacy. I went down to reception right away and asked for another room. The staff were so blasé not probably not realizing how big a misstep they committed. While the room they eventually assigned to me was lovely, I could barely sleep a wink because I was worried the front desk staff would assign my already occupied room to another guest. I didn't leave my room until the start of business day the following morning to finish my work and check out of the hotel immediately after.

Breakfast was by far the most amazing among all BestWestern I have stayed. There is a guy named Rich that works as a security guard and was so friendly. The room was nice and clean but beyond the long curtain wasnt a view one would appreciate. They have a rocking chair in the room that looked like an office chair, I almost hit my head in the wall not knowing it would swing. Frontdesk doesnt extend extra mile to serve you, in particular the graveyard lady when we arrived the first night. She seemed insincere and doesnt value guests. They all dont exert effort to personalize their service. I think calling guests ma'am & sir all the time is very rude. I would comeback not because it was an expectacular stay but because it is BestWestern. Nothing else.
Breakfast is passable being continuously condensed for selection but that's about it for our stay. We tried asking for another room with a fully functioning airconditioning but the front desk/house keeping insisted that the airconditioning is working without even checking it out. considering we had these problems already during our previous stay. There is also a hint of moldiness in the air that you cannot just ignore (the scent of old wet wood left to dry indoor)...I hope the management tries to investigate the problem and come up with a solution. We also booked another room with an extra bed and when we headed back to the hotel around 10pm after checking-in early, the extra-bed was nowhere to be found. We still had to call the front desk before they added the bed. Inconvience at its best. We also wished that the staff would treat us locals the same when they greet and guide foreign tourists. At least greet us good morning or evening with nice smile...simple hospitality goes a long way. All this made us wonder what happened to BW Cebu Lex Hotel...it is definitely not the same during these past 3 years. We are looking forward to some changes and hopefully reel us bacl to the WBCLH that we know.
Probably an underrated place compared to the bigger hotels like Marriott & Marco Polo. But it has the advantage of being newer, and it's also close to several restaurants and other services. We booked three rooms, and they gave one room a free upgrade. The king size beds are more than enough for a couple and a child. Pool area was nice. It was just four feet deep but was great for relaxing. It also offered a great view of the city. The water could stand to be heated a bit, though. Breakfast was okay. Decent spread of continental and local food. Would be nice if they had an oven to heat the other bread in, as only a toaster was provided for sliced bread. Would stay here again.
Check into the hotel was simple and easy. Doorman were there to help you with your luggage and get you to the check in counter. The staff was friendly and communicate quite well in English! Our room was a King Size bed and it was great, but we thought it might be a bit more spacious. Daily room service was good, but I did have to ask them for some small face cloths. Our shower overflowed all over the bathroom due to a clogged drain, but I did clear it with a toothbrush. I reported this to the front desk and I think they took care of it after we checked out. The roof deck is a nice place to relax and have a drink, or take a swim in their lap pool. I wanted to get in the pool, but it was so DAMN COLD, I could not. It was a nice pool though. You have a nice view of the surrounding area too. The RAI Restaurant on the ground floor was good and while the majority of the dishes were Filipino themed, the did have other nice dishes. One night I had the Chinese Cantonese Scallops and it was wonderful! Scallops, shiitake mushrooms and a great spic sauce. I had it with some garlic fried rice and it was wonderful. Their breakfast buffet, (which was included), was real nice. A mix of Filipino and Western foods, omelettes to order, fresh bread and rolls, fresh fruit, baked chicken, the list goes on. They could expand the fresh fruit to include fruits other than just pineapple and watermelon. Where was the fresh green and ripe mango?? Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but sometimes the service in the restaurant was not so good. Once it took a half hour for us to get water and other drinks after we ordered them. This is why we could not give the place a 5 rating! Service was lacking sometimes. We will go back though!
Hotel is very nice to stay at. Comfortable bed and clean place. Only downside is probably the bathroom which has a glass panel. Even though a blind is provided but it won't cover the whole panel. I have no issues with it as I'm traveling alone. It's for those traveling with friends but not as close together. Breakfast was excellent with lots of restaurants around. Only downside is that there's no direct mall around the hotel. But that can be easily solved with taxis.
Modern and clean hotel with friendly staff, a huge shower and a great amenities not too far from local attractions. The buffet breakfast was also very varied and filling compared to other hotels in the area.
Staying at this hotel was very pleasent and comfortable. All of the staff were very supportive, friendly and helpful. The breakfust comes in buffet style and provides international and also local foods. All of them were great. The pool is an eye catcher and gives you a nice view on mountains, the western beach in the far, and the town aswell. If you are looking for a better location in Cebu like beaches or quiet places, this hotel might not be the first joice, since it is located in Central Cebu (town). However, if you want to explore the city, or just drop by for a night heading to another place in Cebu, the Best Western Hotel will provide you with a very pleasent stay and will be a perfect stay.
Somewhat overpriced for a business hotel in a city like Cebu. Breakfast is OK, rooms are somewhat small, pool is tiny, right near a Starbucks. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall good bet if you need to be in Cebu City
Cebu itself is quite a small, intimate town with big city aspirations.....quite like the hotel itself. Its quite well located to all the important places, close to the hip areas and not too far from the port and IT zone. The property offers the basics quite well.....nice clean, well sized rooms, decent breakfast, quite good wifi....but fails a bit in the overall experience viz:: once i went to change currency but could not as they had "run out of money".
My stay at Cebu couldn't been better at my stay at this hotel, the staff are friendly and very professional, I will recommend this hotel to ALL my friends and family back in Australia, I'll be returning to this hotel on my next stay in Cebu But my only concern is the noises from the outside but I got used to it The food was fantastic including the buffet breakfast, spoiler for choice!!!
Was knocked off my feet when I entered the room and was amazed by the size and cleanliness. Everything you expect from a top rated hotel and especially love their large bathroom and blackout curtains. Jayjay from the Housekeeping Department is a blast .... Breakfast was very good but just a single person servicing the floor while three others lingered back of the counter. BTW, Caesar Salad is made with Romaine and not Iceberg and Red Leaf Lettuce ... and don't ask what type of dressing is desired!!! The roof deck pool is under utilized and it felt like having a pool of my own. I would definitely return and will keep an eye open for their monthly specials or promos if it is ever posted online. Nice and pleasant eating places in a 300 feet radius .... I discovered Cafe Sarre on the last night and enjoyed it.
A good place to stay whenever you want to relax after a busy week at work. It was a weekend when my best friend and I decided to try this hotel. We stayed at their business class room. Quite spacious and clean. The pool was the best feature of this hotel, located at their roof deck . ?? Staff were also friendly and their executive chef personally asked us if we enjoyed the food. Will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.
You need to check a room condition before your reservation. Some rooms have a very small window with no view (walls and outdoor fans) Damp bed. Something was flying in my room. some reeception staffs answered very mechanically and never considered customer's position.
We stayed at this hotel for a workshop. We started the day disappointed because instead of assigning us to a function room, we were assigned in a suite room. That would be good if our intention was to relax only. But we were here to work. 11 people were cramped in a small space. The room was warm and tight. We were not happy. The service crew did the best that they could to appease us, they were consistently courteous and empathized with us. Thank you to the service crew. Of course we complained and we were compensated for it. Aside from that unpleasant experience, the room is good size for two adults, clean and cozy. Comfy bed. The location of the hotel is near to a lot of restaurants, so no need to dine in the hotel. The hotel food is average. They have a nice viewing deck for drinks and relaxation. I'd recommend this hotel for vacationers.
Lovely hotel with a decent location near all city center attractions. We took taxis everywhere but driving your own car wouldn't be a challenge for parking. Staff was friendly but weren't very accommodating to requests for changes in reservations. Roof top pool was cool and there's a great view of the city and mountains. The room was decent and mostly clean. The bathroom was too dimly lit for grooming. I'd stay here again with the right promo price.
BADS: Started with the email I received from hotel when I booked asking for information about the airport transportation. To arrange the 650 Peso shuttle they would need a photocopy of the front/back of my credit card and a copy of my passport faxed or emailed to the hotel. I took a white taxi instead because I was not about to send them all of that information and it was 225 Peso's. When I arrived at 12:30 my room was not ready which I realize is a possibility when check-in is not until 2:00pm. The problem that I had is right at 2:01pm they brought keys out to all 5 groups waiting for their rooms. Seemed like they were holding them on purpose. I went to the concierge to book some tours for my stay. She told me that another guest had the tour book but would call me when it was returned. I never heard from her so I went down to the front desk at 3:00am (oh jet lag) and was told again that a guest had the tour book but I would be called when it was returned. The next morning at 11am the book was still not there. How can a concierge lend out the only tour book to a guest and then not help any other guests book tours. Isn't this one of the main uses of a concierge? The tour book was still not available the last day when I left. Good: The breakfast is a great breakfast. They have breakfast and lunch/dinner items. They had salads, cheese, pancakes, omelette station, pasta station, bacon, and much much more. The breakfast def is what made the rating I gave 2 stars instead of 1. The pool on the roof and the roof has awesome views and is a great way to spend a day. The rooms are nice as well and the bed is comfortable. My shower was not draining but housekeeping was up and it was fixed within 5 minutes.
Lots of staff to help needs of guest. So service is excellent. Breakfast buffet is great & variety everyday. Place is clean. I experienced slow or internet timeout. More treadmill at exercise room. That should be the areas they need to improve. I stayed for 5 days.
We stayed there for 3 days and 4 nights. Everyday we look forward for our sumptuous free breakfast on a buffet.. The staff are all friendly and are always ready to answer queries on how to go around Cebu. The hotel's location is very convenient since it is centrally located and near the tourist spots. And most of all the hotel is well maintained and very clean. They also have an outdoor pool and a bar at the rooftop where you can relax after a tiring day's stroll. Worth coming back to this hotel. :-)
I had to go to Cebu at very short notice under fairly stressful circumstances. I did not have to worry about my accommodation as this place was clean, well equipped, central and with excellent service and friendly professional staff. I would happily stay there again. The traffic is noisy but ok for short city stay and they do provide ear plugs to supplement the double glazing! I particularly enjoyed a sneaky couple hours on the roof. Had one excellent main course via room service and another in the restaurant which wasn't so good and rather slow. All in all very happy.
We enjoyed everything about our first stay here. Poolside service was great....hot showers at all times of the day..... reasoable pricing and super fast internet...very important! One suggestion would be to ensure the breakfast buffet is fully setup for early risers.....we tried various timing for breakfast over our stay and found there is a very small sweet spot between when the food items are all present and when the guests consume it all. Overall a great stay and a place we look forward to returning.
This is my 2nd time to stay here at lex, and they still maintain to provide excellent service. Great staff! They were very nice and accommodating. Room is very clean, pleasant and comfy! Amazing infinity pool :) Highly recommendable! will definitely be coming back????????
Our stay in this hotel was very pleasant, thanks to the friendliest staff you can imagine, a really comfortable room and a great swimming pool with nice views. The breakfast was fantastic, with a lot of options both savoury and sweet.
The hotel had a friendly welcome, and although stated in the t+c, I never like to have to pay additional deposits after fully paying for the room. I don't use a credit card, so they could only offer me a cash deposit option. The room was a delux with bath - which was a good size. The furnishings were good. I remember there being a mention of memory foam mattresses - when in fact, it's just a memory foam top attached to the regular mattress, which was ok, but it didn't lie quite flat. The pillows were like rocks, so I didn't find those comfortable. The bath was nice, and the hot water availability was good. The shower had two heads, a rainfall and a hand held. the rainfall could have done with some descaling, as it wasn't letting the water fall like rain fall, the little rubber nozzles were blocked up. The hand held section had a holder that wasn't able to tighten, which meant that the shower head remained at the bottom of the pole it was attached to, and couldn't be fixed at a higher level. This is ok if you're one of snow white's dwarves, but for most of us it's an inconvenience. So the shower was just ok. The mini bar wasn't very cold, but set to maximum. The air-con worked well. The swimming pool on the roof terrace was also a nice place for relaxation. Check-out was slow. I understand that the room has to be checked before departure - to make sure I haven't run off with the TV or the contents of the mini-bar - but it did take a long time.
Arrived late one evening and there was a party going on but that soon stopped, was taken to our room - there was no view and it was quite dark and although it was quite clean, it didn't feel clean (not helped by the carpets). The bathroom was clean and modern! This hotel was OK for what we used it for - just a place to sleep. The pool is nice, but the food (nachos) was very basic. I recommend for a stop over, but not for a long holiday! It may just be the room we were given that let it down! We went to Kawawssan falls whilst there - the hotel trip is very expensive so we booked a driver online and went ourselves - you don't need a guide!
The hotel is well located in Cebu city, rooms are big with all you need. But the service is on some areas low or poor with at the end a mixed feeling. Issues to mention: no change provided on small bank notes (minimum 100 Euros), transportation services very expensive, stains on the carpet, cleanliness of the shower to be improved. Breakfast food is not very good.
My husband and I booked a night here last year. The rooms was spacious. The roof deck has a great view of the mountains, the sea and the city lights. After dinner, we have our coffee at the roof deck lanai. The ambiance is so relaxing. What came as a surprise to us was when we dined at the Kai restaurant at the hotel lobby. I am not into eating mode that time and I have something in mind that's not on the menu but lo! and behold! the waiter told us that they can serve the shrimp pasta in my favorite pesto sauce even if it's off the menu.
During our summer long trip we always stayed at this hotel when we were in Cebu. It doesn't get better than Cebu Lux! The rooms are excellent, great showers and a kettle, tv, fast internet and even a digital scale. The hotel has an amazing roof top pool and a great gym that has everything you could need. They are very accommodating if you need to check out but store luggage. The staff is amazing. They speak great English. One staff member Ramond, was particularly helpful and ran to return my phone that I left behind on the lounge chairs! Overall a perfect stay, well worth the drive from the airport to spend a layover. Oh! And breakfast is AMAZING!
We used this hotel as our hub for a month long trip around Southeast Asia, and always looked forward to coming back! The staff is very accommodating, and the rooms are modern, spacious and comfortable. The restaurant had a wonderful selection, and the free breakfast buffet was great. Not too far from the airport - and they were helpful in getting transportation. Would definitely recommend!
Very modern Hotel. Our room faced the West Side (J. Osmena St) and the double pane insulated windows even on the 3rd floor kept the room cool and quiet. They keep the entire Hotel fairly cool and air conditioned which is good because they have carpeting everywhere. Most Hotels with carpets smell moldy here in the Philippines because of the humidity. The Best Western here is kept very cool and dry inside and has no moldy carpet smells. The Hotel seems to be divided into two sections, one half for smoking rooms and one side for nonsmoking rooms. We choose a nonsmoking room and our room key card says 2,000 peso fine if they suspect smoking. Big bathroom. Three people could easily fit inside the shower all at the same time. The complimentary amenities are abundant, they even gave out free USB Power Banks to recharge your cell phone. Air Conditioners are split type so they're very quiet. The A/C remote allowed us to adjust the temperature easily. Breakfast is a buffet. Very small area but they seemed to have a good selection of different foods to eat. Salad Bar, Fruit Bar, Eggs and Pasta Bar, along with breads, cereals, meats and rice. Car parking is really tight with two levels going under the ground. They offer valet parking for those not good in small parking areas. WIFI is Free and fast (speedtest.net gave me 11 Mbps download), but they have many filters that can make the system slow. I tried to update my Apps on my Ipad and could not. They did update as soon as I left the hotel and went to the airport. They have a 24 hour 7-11 store next door to hotel if you have the midnight munchies.
Stayed here for one night in May, It is a modern hotel, clean and the rooms are very spacious. The staff are really friendly and willing to help with booking transport to different resorts on the island. The location is perfect as its next door to malls and restaurants. Also i have to mention the roof top pool is pretty cool!
This property is located along the main road near N.Escario and Juana Osmena St. This is a good location as there are plenty of restaurants & convenience store outside...McDonalds, Jollibee, 7/11, Family Mart, YakiMix, etc. There are also coffee shops and bars near the hotel. The check in process was quick however I didn't like being asked for all the ID's of the staying guest. I think presenting 1 ID per room should suffice and they can just list the names of the other guests. I understand that this is a standard protocol but it is a bit of a hassle when you're checking in more than 1 room. Rooms are really clean and all well kept. The AC was quiet so I had a good sleep. They have a small buffet area so it's a great idea to have breakfast earlier to avoid the crowd. Breakfast is actually good..the spread is enough. Excellent staffs! Whenever they are around, they would greet you with a big smile.
It was a good idea to have this hotel as the venue for our Christmas Party. The place was just enough. Food was delicious. Waiters were attentive. There ample parking for all of us. It is located in the heart of the city. It has a swimming pool too for those who wants to linger staying in the hotel after our event.
once i booked with them i received and email from them informing me that they are working on my special requests they will great you with a fresh juice while they check you in...the staff always smiling and welcoming. the room was clean..it has a king size bed..flat screen TV..mini bar..safe. the shower got cold and hot water...water pressure was great..you will get clean fresh towel daily...their breakfast was good. the location of the hotel is great too...though you have to deal with the traffic noises outside. ill definitely stay there again
I can't say enough great things about this hotel. The service is incredible, the rooms are very comfortable, and I always enjoy my stay here when I am in Cebu. The food quality & the service for breakfast is excellent. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Best hotel I have stayed in in cebu. Very good and friendly staff. Very good restaurant good rooms the pool is excellent. Very good location in cebu short trip to the mall about 5 minutes. Will stay there wen I come back to cebu
This was my second time staying here, and it is my new favorite hotel in Cebu city, and I will return here. The rooms are excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful, and it's a great value. The location is close enough to everything that I want to go to in the city, and it is easy to get around
I stayed in Hotel Best Western Plus Lex at the heart of the city in the month of June 2016. The hospitality provided by the team was awesome. The buffet breakfast was very good and the buffet spread was one of the best in Cebu. You cannot have a review of the hotel without mentioning the infinity pool at the roof top. It is a pleasurable view of the city from the infinity pool and the restaurant attached to it. There is an issue of traffic noises in the room due to the location of the hotel. The hotel reception provides ear plugs if you need to avoid this noise.
Lets start with the hospitality. You can't fault it. Lex is such a happy place, everyone is so friendly. "Good morning Sir, Good morning Ma'am" is common place, even in the afternoon and evening! :) The room was great. Amazingly large bed, plenty of space and great aircon. The ensuite was nice too, had a shower AND bath...luxury! The only downsides I would say about the room was the TV reception was awful and almost all channels were barely watchable and it appears it doesn't matter how high up the building the room is located, you can still hear the cars, traffic and plenty of 'beeping' as though you were standing on the street. I'm not an architect so I wouldn't be sure but surely an investment in thicker sound proof windows wouldn't go amiss? Yet strangely, I got kinda used to it but certainly didn't need an alarm in the morning :) The restaurant was great for breakfast. Had such a variety of food from European to Filipino and everything in between. And then there is the swimming pool and bar on the top level. One of the big reasons I chose this hotel. And it didn't disappoint. It was so nice to take a swim in the pool when the days get so hot. And as you are so high up, you get a nice cool breeze floating over you whilst sipping a mango fruit juice and floating in the pool :) the only change I would make is that they have music playing through the speakers, and this is usually techno or some other hardcore dance music. Not very appropriate for kids or generally chilling by a pool. Perhaps some lounge/summer music would be more appropriate? But really, that is such a small thing compared to what they offer. All in all, I very much enjoyed my stay here and would definitely recommend to others to go. And if I'm ever back in Cebu, it would be my first hotel of choice.
I would of gave this hotel 5 if the free breakfast was better, but that was the only thing not good on my trip. Rooms are very well laid out with wall mounted/swivel televisions, comfortable king sized (some rooms two doubles) beds, large bathrooms with many hygiene items supplied, and huge rain shower. 5/5 Pool on the rooftop is amazing with a great view of the city and helpful staff on hand. There is also a fitness room and loungers to catch some rays while you sip on a shake. 5/5 Service was very good! Front desk even came to get me for a late check out at 6pm in which I didn't check out till 7pm :-) (had a 11:30pm flight at Mactan). Vans are on hand for tours and all tour packages are advertised on the televisions and on the desks in your room. Check out and check in were pretty well seamless and had no issues for a 5 day trip. 5/5 Food was mediocre, breakfast was horrible. This is the only reason they did not get a 5 from me. Plenty of food options on Escario Street to satisfy your hunger needs anyway so no big deal. 3/5 Overall great hotel and I will stay again on my next Cebu City trip.
This hotel is very good modern the location ,staff are very friendly and helpful service excellent room are spacious and bathroom very clean ,nice infinity pool one of the best hotel in cebu ...great experience we have
Excellent stay, excellent service from check in, food and beverage specially during breakfast. Would definetly recommend this hotel. Friendly and accomodating staff. Clean and has elegant scents and style.
Pros: The staff were very nice, and the breakfast was a big spread. Lots of good dining options nearby, from budget to mid-range. Bed was comfortable and had plenty of pillows. Pool is very small, but nice. Cons: Room was very below average, possibly because I paid much less than my colleagues booking through a third party. I was stuck in a handicapped room with a tiny window that showed into some space between the building, bathroom floors did not drain and would be extremely dangerous for somebody who had a disability with the huge puddles after showering. Traffic is bad in the area, but that's pretty typical for Cebu. I've dealt with below average rooms before, but the most annoying thing was the staff trying to tell me I had an "upgrade" to a bigger room. I travel a lot, and this was a blatant lie that they shouldn't tell people. They were very nice otherwise, but that was enough that I will never stay at this hotel again.

really had a good experience from time of arrival, reception were very attentive, friendly and approachable... room was nice and was impressed with the bedding arrangements was lovely and cute... but had a bad experience with the pool bar... on the first day, we would like to eat something spicy so the guy from the pool recommended a nacho wth a salsa...i said id like it with cheese but he said its not available so he promised to give me a mayo instead... we were happy wth the salsa, but he didnt gave the mayo as he promised... i asked for extra salsa, he said that there wil be an extra charge for it, and when i asked how much he said he dont know! wow! second day, we ordered the same, as we loved the salsa yesterday, to my surprise it was a different type of salsa! i said this is not the one they give me yrsterday... the guy still insist that this is the only nacho-salsa that they have,... so what was that yesterday????...ok fine! on third day... we ordered pizza and chicken... it took so long to be delivered to us! we also ordered mojito.... and after 40mins, the lady said they dont have mint leaves... seriously!??? after 40mins? the order came after almost 1 hour.... the chicken and pizza, there was no standard procedure in delivering the food order, no spoon, fork or knife with it, no tissue or salt and pepper... just the chicken and pizza! so annoying! i requested to have fork and knife, and wow! it came when i actually finished the chicken already! pizza was so hard! was cold! not nice. we look for the manager, we waited for too long to meet her to inform the 3days consecutive issue with her department, but she never show up. they said she was busy in the meeting, ok fine... but she never even try to reach us even after her meeting! well i guess she dont care about the guest satisfaction. was a great hotel, good location, friendly staff... but the service and f&b pool bar failed...need more training and improvement. Room-met Swimming pool/view-met internet-met cleanliness-met pool bar,f&b service not met
We booked two nights through booking.com. One must be careful as we did not read small print pertains to taxes and payed much more than anticipated. The lobby and exterior are all very nice and fresh, how ever the rooms do need up grading. .During our stay there was zero hot water, surprised as its a semi classy hotel. Bed is huge and delightful, pillows very hard and high. Internet is good in room and has also small fridge. Pity rooms not upgraded as one would expect more for p3k a night. TV channels are few and fox sports only sport channel, have experienced more channels in far less expensive hotels. Pool is lovely but drinks there very expensive as is food. The inclusive breakfast is adequate.
Stayed here for a business visit recently. The rooms and clean and typical of most Best Westerns. The breakfast spread is decent but the restaurant is quite small, which means that a few of the tables are placed in the lobby, which is odd. Service is fairly good. There's quite a few restaurants within walking distance which is good. I would stay here agin on my next visit to Cebu.
modern hotel. we had great time during our stay, rooms are big and very clean. staff are so friendly and easy to talk with if you make some arrangements.. the buffet breakfast was excellent, different variety of food and fresh fruits. The Bar and pool on the roof top was amazing.. overlooking the city of cebu.
At 2100 pesos it s one of the best deal in cebu... nice place really. Great breakfast buffet, nioce large and confortable rooms. Nice and helpful people working there. Nice Pool on the roof. Great location in cebu city. FASTEST WIFI IN CEBU HOTELS
This Hotel have all the best things that you need, the front check in service is great, very helpfull staff with good attitude, this hotel just make me feels like home. the room is spacious with great design and bed is superb comfort. The pool have the best view for sunset, u can enjoy it either from inside the pool or from the sun bed. Breakfast is good, the staff arrange our food packs cause i'm leaving hotel on early morning to the whale shark tour. Definetly will come back to this hotel again when i'm back to Cebu City.
Room is cozy, breakfast is good, amenity wise its great. staff is good as well. we had a wonderful time during our stay. i spent my birthday at the hotel and they gave me a complimentary cake and it made our stay even a bit special
I was three nights in the hotel . very friendly staff , nice rooms , clean , nice pool on the roof. breakfast is ok but nothing special ,most of the time the food is not warm . but its great located . even if it is in the centre of Cebu you cant hear the noise from the street . I will come again !!!
Stayed for a night before heading south. Enjoyed our short stay a lot. Only downside: quite much traffic noise (ask for a room on upper floors) and in traffic (which is apparently always the worst) it takes quite long from the airport in mactan. But the roof top rewards the waiting!
Stayed for a few days at this hotel with my wife during the Sinulog Celebration. Purposely moved to this location from another hotel for the duration of the Sinulog, considering the location which was close to the Capitol and Fuente where the action was. The hotel itself was very well situated, clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom was large and elegant. There was no problem with water pressure considering we were at an upper floor. Wifi was great. The hotel staff was very courteous and friendly. Requests were answered promptly. They have a small rooftop pool as well as a gym. Our room rates came with breakfast buffet which was great. We would highly recommend this hotel.
When contacting them prior to my arrival to ask about free transfers their response was 'we have transfers but they corresponding charges' the answer of no would have sufficed and mind you they charge three times the price of a taxi. Taxi to airport= 250-300 Taxi to Ayala Mall= <100 It's located in a central area so it's cheap to go anywhere. Upon checking into this hotel everything seemed to run smoothly until the attendant told us there were only smoking rooms were available even though we specifically booked a 'non-smoking' room. There was no apology, and the staff member couldn't even look me in the eye as she kept typing on the computer. My family who I was travelling with were not happy nor impressed with the service so far. She told us to go check the room to see if we could deal with the smell and if we couldn't she would 'see what see could do', (still no apology). We went to the room and it stank even though we were advised that it was clean and fresh. If you're staying in a smokers room the smell doesn't go away over night especially if smokers are continuously using it night after night. After speaking with the staff members a room magically became available on a 'non-smoking' level. This experience was one to remember, who knew checking into a hotel would cause so many problems.
Our housekeeping staff were wonderful, full of enthusiasm and took great pride in doing a professional job. Other than that, we were regularly met with indifference and laziness. The amenities could almost be described as four star, but the human component needs some serious training and constant managerial supervision.
Staff were very nice, helpful and accommodating. The gym and the pool is a plus , room is clean and spacious . We stayed at the 9th floor and it's really quiet. Breakfast is included and each time we ordered it to go . We will definitely come back and stay here again I the near future
We stayed here for one night and used the pool and gym which were both lovely and clean. Excellent breakfast options and well appointed room. The staff are all very helpful, recommend this to people who want to stay in the heart of Cebu. It is also very close to Ayala mall which is a good spot for shopping. Try 'The Social' for dinner.
Room was clean with a good bed and a spacious bathroom. First night I had a room on the main road, 5th floor. Even though i requested at the time of my booking for a quiet room, away from the main road. The noise and the traffic is unbelievable, like the motors and the ambulances are driving through your room. Luckily they gave us an other room the next night. Too bad it was a smokers room, but everything better than staying awake again... And a pity that we could only stay one night in that room and we had to move again on the third night. The staff is really polite and helpful, with advise about taxis etc. The roof pool is really cool, and great for cooling down after a hot day in the city. The neighbourhood is also good for have food in the evening.
Harolds Hotel was fully booked, so decided to try the Best Western Plus LEX for a one week stay. I checked the hotel out in mid 2014 and knew that the normal [superior] rooms were on the small side [only 27 to 30 sqm], but the business rooms were ok for 2 people [40 to 42 sqm]. Booked a business room [shown as being 42 sqm] through Booking.com. Checked in; given Room x13 [corner room], but immediately knew it was a small room - queried the room type with the porter, who confirmed it was a business room. Decided not to unpack as the room was too small. Got a tape measure out, and measured the room - room including bathroom was 28.1 sqm. The emergency exit plan behind the door suggested that all the rooms were small except x01, x02, x03 and x08. Checked Best Western Plus LEX's website - they indicated that the superior room size was 27 to 30 sqm, the business room was 40 sqm [for customer who needed extra space], and the deluxe room was 45 sqm. Went to the reception, and queried the room allocated - they tried to suggest that the room allocated was a business room. Stressed that Best Western Plus LEX's website indicated that the standard superior room size was 27 to 30 sqm, and the room allocated x13 was 28.1 sqm, but the business room was 40/42 sqm - 50% larger than the superior room. The reception initially suggested that they could 'upgrade' to a 45 sqm deluxe room [upgrade?? I'd booked a 42 sqm room] for 3 nights, but would then need move back to a smaller room!! Stressed that I wasn't looking for an upgrade, merely a 40/42 sqm business room as booked/prepaid. Indicated that if they couldn't provide, I would find another hotel, and sort the problem out by legal action against Booking.com for selling a product that was unavailable. Eventually viewed one of the hotel's 45 sqm 'deluxe' rooms - adequate size although probably a little noisy with windows on 2 sides. The reception suggested that the room viewed x01 was available to the entire week - problem solved; the hotel eventually fulfilled their contractual. Room was ok, but the housekeeping staff need to clean behind curtains - very dusty, obviously seldom cleaned [out of sight/out of mind]. Security lock inside the room didn't work, but fixed after advising the reception. Although free breakfast was included, we preferred to eat at Yolk in Tres Borces. Free basement car parking.
Had the business room for one night. Room was modern and clean and toilet is very spacious! Pity it didn't come with a bathtub. Wished that I had time to enjoy the rooftop pool at night since it looked lovely. The breakfast provided was average, not particularly tasty, but I'm not too particular. It was very near Zubuchon and Starbucks, as well as couple of cool dining places which was a great place to hang out at night. Overall the hotel was very reasonably priced
The front desk staff obviously have zero authority to make independent decisions without the blessing of the owner. It took 4 levels of management and 45 minutes before they could decided that my 12 year old was eligible to eat the breakfast we had pre paid for. Nothing special about this place at all, there are lots better in Cebu without the fuss.
A day in Cebu City's hassle and bustle can be tiresome and the Best Western Lex is a great place to retreat to. Very spacious and comfortable rooms with comfortable and vary large beds are well equipped, clean and modern. Staff – extremely polite and helpful. Bellboys ready to open a door for you and get you a taxi and an afternoon tidy-up service added a nice and luxurious touch. Food at the restaurant is great and the service outstanding. Roof-top swimming pool, although small, offers great views and having some evening cocktails there was a real pleasure. Considering reasonable pricing – the value for money is amazing. I would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone.
Staff were lovely, made us feel very welcome and comfortable especially being the first hotel of our trip. Pool was to die for, and location I had no issue with, central to food outlets (fast food especially) and staff here are very knowledgable in regards to organising taxis for you to get to bigger shopping centres. Rooms are great too, will be back for sure.
a 4 stars hotel for sure. although small, the room provides all. breakfast buffet is one of the best i had in south east asia. small pool and area on top floor are great. if you worry about security - a chicken can not fly through.... everybody who is not staying there and enters the hotel, gets to show id and sign a visitors card at the front desk. will i stay there again?.... haha.... maybe, but i am becoming stingy and have found cheaper hotels in the area that are sufficient for me.
The room was amazing with an even better bed! Wow, Could slep the whole day. Pool area is great! Staff very friendly and professional. Would def. recommend this hotel and come back. Thanks, Maurice and Joanna
Everything about this hotel was great. The staff can not do enough to help. Buffet breakfast is extensive with everything you can desire. Pool area is a nice escape from the city. Bedrooms are wonderful with very comfortable bed.
I didn't stay here but I paid to use the facilities for a day! The pool area is really lovely and a welcomed oasis away from the very busy streets. The staff were amazing, very attentive. I had a beautiful shrimp potato salad for only 200php! This hotel was just what I needed after many hours of traveling the day before and next time I will chose this hotel as a place to stay overnight too!
Situated along the streets of Capitol and Escario area, this 4-star hotel offers a premiere 5-star world class service. Paid only P1300 when we booked via HotelQuickly.com app and redeemed the discount code: BFAMA. New users should enter the code within 24-hours after signing up. The code is valid for three months after redemption. Staff were exceptionally polite and accommodating. Rooms were large and spacious. Modern glass-bathrooms and movement-detecting lights were an added surprise. What grabbed our attention the most were the mini-infinity pool and killer view at the upper deck. Pool-side services were great and ambience was simply relaxing. One possible drawback was the breakfast set-up. Extremely minimal selection and they hosted breakfast at the lobby. Yes, the lobby. Traveler Tip: ALWAYS, always, always request a room at the higher floors. It'll provide a better view and city noise won't be a bother.
My second stay; first was in July 2015. Modern property, great room and bed, beautiful roof top pool and lounge area. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good on site restaurant for breakfast. Central location, other hotels and restaurants nearby. About half hour drive to Airport.
Well it was my first time in Cebu, I went there to meet my fiancé for the first time, she proposed to me on the 29th of February, Awwwwww, anyway back to the hotel : ) after a long flight and a scary taxi ride from the airport I was looking forward to some rest at a nice relaxing hotel, that`s exactly what I got, there are a lot of hotels to choose from in Cebu and I`m glad to say this lives up to it`s billing, it`s modern and clean, the staff could not be nicer or more helpful and it just has that luxury feel about it, the breakfast was nice and as other people have commented if the hotel is busy they sometimes put some tables and chairs in the reception area which seems a bit strange but in no way a bad thing, there was an issue with the bathroom door on one day as in we could not get into the bathroom, they sent maintenance straight up to the room and even offered us another room to use while they fixed the door, if I`m being picky the only thing I would say that needs attention is the silicon around the bottom of the shower area had gone black in some places and looked horrible but really that's all I could say was wrong with the whole place, this is a lovely hotel with very good staff, the roof top pool looking out over Cebu was a beautiful setting to spend some time with my lady and is nice and quiet in the evening to enjoy a swim. in closing I would just like to say thank you to everyone at The Lex, you made the first trip to Cebu a very happy one for my fiancé and me, we are coming back in June and look forward to staying with you again
Location is near to some tourist spots. Had our room facing the street. Staffs are accommodating. Rooms are clean and spacious, cost per night is not too expensive. Breakfast is buffet, foods are just right. A little far from airport. Overall it was a good stay.
Restaurant Staff, Chef Glenn, Receptionist and Cleaners are very friendly. Superior room is quite large with a very huge beds (made for 5 adult people ) unfortunately the bed is like a rock and the pillow is also big and also very hard on your neck...the worse is so noisy at night its been overrun by motorbike and we were at the 6th FLOOR!!! The toilet is functional , the shower is different story, it needs a rubber or anything to stop the water escaping through the gap in the glass door. They made our room clean everyday. There is a free WiFi, there's also a small gym at the top floor. The swimming pool so good with a good view. The food is okay but it's so expensive. ..I have 4 pieces of battered chicken, 2 cups of rice, 2 glasses of mango juice and 1 serve ice cream I paid 950. Pesos! Went to MacDonald after that. .. The closest shop is ayala mall..but everything there is very expensive. It cost us a fortune for taxi to the central part of Cebu City. ..the hotel is very expensive for 10 days we stayed there, I paid 30,005. Pesos and you must pay it as soon as you arrive. Overall it's not a good value for money! But has a very beautiful views at the top floor. ..I suppose that's what we are paying for. ..
Very friendly people i enjoyed every thing about the Lex from the breakfast to the great pool on the roof great view, the rooms were very clean as every thing else at the Lex would differently stay there again.
The first room I was given on the 3rd floor was as noisy as the second on the 7th floor. Two main roads are crossing at the hotel and the windows do not properly reduce the high noise level. Not a good place for an undisturbed sleep. The rooms were fine and well equiped. Login into the wifi of the hotel did not work though. I was not satisfied how the the reception followed the request of my reservation and the information given on arival was not really supportive. Friendliness could be better.
We stayed our first part of our holiday here and it was great... Staff are friendly, restaurant's food is good, it's a nice clean hotel, they have a swimming pool with a view to the city on the top level. Dislikes... Plenty! Very expensive we stayed for10 days and it cost us 30, 005. 00 pesos, that is about $900. AUD Very expensive travelling by a taxi to SM or to the central area, although it's closer to Ayala shopping center and Taoist Temple.
i have stayed 2 night in Cebu . I came with my wife for our 1st anniversary. the only word to descibe this hotel is PERFECT. the stuff are friendly. the room and furniture are perfect. the bathroom is amazing. the breakfast has many choices. and the best thing about this hotel is the area around it , there many shops , resturants , bars and spa . you will never get bored . so my advise for any one will come to visit cebu is just stay at this hotel .
We stayed here three nights and loved it. The rooftop infinity pool makes it! Great rooms, big comfy beds, quiet air-con units, excellent bathrooms. The breakfast buffet was astonishing! There was so much stuff to pick from - including omelette station with custom omelettes, a carving station, fresh fruit, every kind of sweet and pastry, and an excellent cheese board. The location is excellent. You can walk to Mango Square and the park there, it's right next to Zubochon, there are 24 hour stores all around. Our room was quiet and we slept great. Beautiful views of the city and the green hills from the rooftop patio / pool area! Staff and service were top notch. If I find myself in Cebu again, I will for sure stay here.
This hotel is so nice! The staff was very courteous and professional, can't ask for more :) My room was very spacious, clean & cozy. Their bathroom was so modern and nicely designed. Their pool was very nice and well kept. There are a lot of sofas to lounge on. Overall, this hotel is really nice and I would def. come back here in the future during my visit to Cebu. There are a lot of convenience stores & restaurants around so this is very convenient. About 40 mins from the airport with minor traffic.
A peaceful haven within the hustle and bustle of this crazy city! Great value for money, with generous well equipped rooms. The breakfast is excellent. The roof top pool and bar area is fantastic, especially for a swim and beer after dark with great views across the city. Highly recommended for a stop over in Cebu!
Recently stayed 9 nights at Best Western Plus Lex Cebu and discovered this to be a truly urban delight. Greeted by welcoming staff at reception, restaurant and housekeeping who are a credit to the hotel. Only very minor hiccups in an otherwise perfect stay. Restaurant - found it a little lacking in variety. Curfew - unable to have guests past 10 pm. Found this a little strange. extra person charged to swim at pool - this was disturbing as I have never been charged for bringing guests/family to swim at any hotel I've stayed at around the world. I would recommend this property because it has great location, great staff and great ammenities. The size of the room and upgraded to business class twin was certainly money well spent.
First of all, please do not pay any attention to Macalaney from Bahrain review talking about Western men and Asian woman. So when did he decide who can be with who as I never saw any of that. Anyways, this hotel is in a perfect location, great value at $55 a night with superb customer service. They take care of you in every aspect, from hailing a taxi, room service, late checkout and excellent breakfast. Ervin in the lobby was a great help and for 900 pesos drove me to Mactan Island for scuba diving and ensured I was taken care. Lorenzo at the front desk was a great help as well. I agree the breakfast in the lobby was weird but kind of added to the uniqueness of the hotel. If anything, shows the popularity of the Lex to all travelers. The pool on the top was very nice with great views of Cebu and the surrounding areas. When taking taxis, ensure you tell the taxi driver, THE LEX not Best Western. I will be back for sure on my next visit to Cebu.
This hotel has a fantastic hidden surprise, the roof top spa with fantastic view over the city and hills of West Cebu city. Staff is very friendly and breakfast facilities are perfect. Right around the hotel there are restaurants and bakery stores. A great place for your weekend trip to Cebu. Highly advised.
We were disappointed with the hotel in many ways. The breakfast is inadequate really, spilling out from the very small restaurant area into the lobby with very limited buffet and lacklustre service, I had to ask the service team why it was necessary to fetch them from behind the bar to help me to get a coffee and some juice, it almost seems that breakfast is an after thought. The shower pressure is very poor, as is the in room massage service that Mrs S had after our long flight, very impersonal and lacking in strength as the massage therapist was tiny and seemed to lack experience. The roof top pool is one redeeming feature The lobby is an uncomfortable experience as it is always full of older Western men with young Asian girls in tow - as a mixed race married couple it made us so uncomfortable that we checked out and went to the Waterfront instead - the first time I have ever cut a stay at a hotel short. Besides the lack of supervision and drive for guest satisfaction the staff were friendly enough, particularly on the front desk We have no plans to stay here again and due to the discomfort felt at the appearance of the other clientele would not recommend should you be travelling with children...too many awkward moments - some of the girls in the lobby looked at my wife with open hostility as if she were encroaching on their "patch"
I'll be honest I wasn't looking forward to staying in Cebu after a few days over on Bohol however we needed to catch a flight from the airport to el nido so we booked into this on the strength of.it's Best Western ties. On arrival I had my breath taken away Everything was like a 5* hotel except the price we payed. Attentive staff, a cool welcome complimentary drink, and bags taken to our room. A great nights sleep and then breakfast was the best I had during our stay in the phillipines with a huge selection to pick from. The front door man helped us get taxis to.the local tempai temple and later to the airport. Very pleased with our stay don't hesitate and book now if staying in Cebu City!
Given the good reviews, we decided to book this hotel for our stay, and it didn't disappoint us. The hotel is not near the shopping centres, but they offer free shuttle bus (only twice a day). In the neighbourhood, there are restaurants (Zubuchon), coffee shops, banks and convenience stores. It's actually quiet near Cebu Provincial Capitol, and about 20 min walk to Larsian bbq. The check-in & -out went smoothly, and the room was big and clean. The infinity pool is centrally located on the top deck. If it was built near the edge of the roof, it would have given a better feeling. The taxi drivers know this hotel as Lex hotel. They were confused when we said the full name lol.
We decided to stay one night in Cebu, before moving south of the island, and the Lex hotel was a great choice. For a very reasonable price you stay in a top quality hotel. Check in and check out was quick and efficient, the rooms are big and comfortable, many TV channels, great amenities (it's hard to find hotels in Asia that have actual hair conditioner available). Breakfast have lots of options, and the swimming pool at the rooftop looks great, too bad we didn't have the chance to use it. We did have the chance to visit the shops next to the hotel, where you can find nice restaurants and an amazing spa where we had the best massage of our trip (called "Tree" something, I don't remember the full name, sorry). Overall, a great experience!
I have stayed in best westerns all over and this is definitely much more than a Best Western. The roof top pool with great views towards the mountains and around the city are a definite advantage. The only odd bit is how they turn the lobby in to a dining hall for breakfast. I have never seen this before and it feels incredibly bizarre. The moment you step out of the lift you arrive in to a temporary restaurant - Otherwise a very nice hotel.
I love their buffet brunch LOL. Huge spread which was really a good surprise for all of us! The location is not very near to the mall but I heard they have a free shuttle going to Ayala but it is timed so make sure to ask what's their schedule like. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay memorable!
Got an upgrade to the suite room, which was large and comfortable. The location is good and the breakfast tasty (even though not huge). Staff very helpful and nice. About the room though.. it was not really fresh.. Stains could be seen pretty much everywhere, such as on the curtains, couch and pillows. But I would still recommend the hotel when planning to visit Cebu.
The rooms were great, and they upgraded us to business suites. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even with the city being packed just before Sinulog, they went out of there way to help us arrange a driver, and took very good care of us. The breakfast buffet was awesome :)
Nice rooms. Clean. No issues with the food and service. Roof deck pool has a nice view. Though not that affordable, but this is one of the best hotels in the city. A really good location. Near the malls. Also okay for solo travelers and families.
Great Hotel, friendly staff really good service. We had the business class rooms, beautiful spacious room, great shower. Down side was the traffic noise we could hear inside the room itself, they do have double glazing throughout to combat his but still noisy. Maybe some sound deadening curtains may help. Besides that, I wouldn't hesitate staying there again, buffet breakfast on the better side of food I've had in the Philippines and changes to the menu are done most days. The staff again couldn't do enough to help also a very handy location, this hotel shouldn't disappoint when you're in Cebu
We stayed here for 15 days or more. the staffs are very courteous and attentive. the rooms are spacious, relaxing and mind you it is very clean. Also, they give complete bathroom set ( including mini sewing kit!!) They have wide variety of foods for buffet breakfast.I love their cheese! the food is okay and way better to other hotel. you can also request for mangoes, even if it's not included on the buffet. down side is the restaurant is kinda small to accommodate all guests. They also have infinity pool at the roof deck. with mini bar at side and the view there is magnificent! however, the stairs and floor is very slippery. Over all, i love everything. i'll definitely come again.
One of the best hotels I've stayed so far in Cebu City. The management were very very accommodating. The staff were well trained and friendly. Amazing night view in the roof deck. Great for relaxing too. the roofdeck pool and bar is a wonderful end to a tiring day.
i stayed at this hotel due to its close proximity to the sinulog celebration and i will give it a rate of 5/10. the first 8 days of my trip i stayed at mandarin hotel near ayala center and i would give mandarin hotel a 9/10 and i paid 20 dollars cheaper than what i paid best western lex.the rooms are very small and cramped, although very clean and well decorated.the staff were helpful and friendly.the gym which was very small and was not ready to use when i got there. the airconditioner was off and it was sweltering hot that day. i had to switch the airconditioner on myself and wait 15 minutes till it was comfortable enough to work out in as it was like oven hot when i got there.also the gym was all glass and i couldnt use one equipment as the sun was glaring and i couldnt see, probably blinds will work well when the sun is shining so bright.it was also hard to get a taxi cab from this hotel and you have to wait at least 20-30 minutes to get a ride.at mandarin hotel the whole 8 days i stayed there was a taxi stand and taxis available to take you anywhere .breakfast was also disappointing and the choices were limited.
This is not my first time to stay here at Best Western. The first one was for business in September. Their great service and delicious breakfast's what made me come back. Not to mention, their prime spot as well. I went back here for Sinulog this January and just the same, the two qualities mentioned above were still lived up by the hotel. It was also the perfect spot because it's close enough to be at the main events of the celebration, but far enough from all the commotion brought by the parades, etc. Also, it was rather easy to book a grabtaxi from the area. Some concerns that happened during my stay: 1. We had breakfast in the pool area. We asked the waiter to bring down the check to our room so we could pay in cash. We asked him to leave it in the room and after 15 minutes we brought it back up to the pool area. At around 8pm, someone knocked on our door asking for us to pay for the same bill. At around 10pm, i called the front desk to ask if they have recovered the money that we paid and asked them to call us if they've already found it. No one called us but it wasn't reflected in our bill when we checked out so that's good. 2. Blackout at around 7pm. Though i noticed that the whole strip was blacked out, i expected they had an emergency generator prepared. 3. Since it was Sinulog, i guess most hotels were selling the Sinulog Weekend as a package. Friday-Sunday. We arrived Friday morning and our flight back to Manila was Sunday morning. So we had 1 night wasted. Friday, we asked if we can have the breakfast for Sunday packed as our flights were at 7am. They agreed to and have us fill out forms stating the kind of breakfast we wanted. Come Sunday, the people at the front desk told us that there has been a mix up and they were not able to place the request. I had to wait 10 minutes for them to arrange this. Kind of hassle because we were already in a hurry since we didn't wanna be late and miss our flight. 4. Since we arrived early Friday, we went around the city first before we checked in the hotel, knowing that check in was at 2pm. We arrived the hotel at arround 1:45, exhausted from the flight and going around. We were asked to stay at the pool area as they "prepare" the room. 2:30, we still weren't in our rooms. My friend got pissed because at one point they told us "there is no definite time" when we asked how much longer it would take us to be in our rooms. We finally got in at around 2:45pm. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and i would definitely recommend this hotel.
We stayed here for two nights. The rooftop swimming pool with an amazing view of the city was the reason why we stayed in this hotel not to mention its affordable price. We booked two connecting rooms on the 8th floor: a Deluxe Room and a Business Room. Both were spacious with comfortable memory bed and excellent amenities. One room has a bathtub and TV in the bathroom. The wifi works well all over the hotel even to the burger joint next door. Breakfast buffet was good with different variations both western and Filipino foods. I just wish they serve fresh fruit juices instead of powdered or canned juice. The bathroom smells like a dead rat on the second day even after housekeeping cleaned it. We can hear car noises from outside even if we were on the 8th floor. Watching the moon and the stars at night and the sunrise in the morning from our room was a beautiful experienced. We waited a little bit when we checked in and it turned out that they prepared the room as we requested that we didn't have to call for extra bed or extra towels. As soon as we got settled, we got a call from the front desk checking to see if everything was ok. At that time we had problem with the A/C not working properly. Someone came and fixed it right away. At check out time, we waited awhile also. It's because housekeeping was checking the room to make sure we didn't trashed or took something? I went back to the room because I forgot something while my husband was checking out and saw housekeeping. We will definitely come back to this hotel.
We stayed for a couple of nights at this hotel . The lobby is excellent . The restaurant serves excellent .The rooms were clean and nice,The rooftop offers both a bar, a swimming pool and amazing views all over the city
I stayed in this hotel many times. I like the location and facilities of the hotel. Rooms are good Swimming pool is good. I started to bring yhe group here but front desk management is awfull. To get the key we had to wait for a long time. Last time 2 hrs. Even i notted they have me smoking room and they said No other room. Night time i had to try another hotel Ladt week i needed 5 rooms. They mixed it and wait a lot. In hotel there was no responsible manager Unbeivable. You can mot find anyone to complain. If i had not paid for my next coming i would cancel it. Pls be cateful anout front desk and management
We stayed for a couple of nights at this hotel right before xmas in 2015. The lobby is excellent - and gives you a feel of luxury. The rooms are spacious and modern. The rooftop offers both a bar, a swimming pool and amazing views all over the city. The restaurant serves excellent breakfast. Even though the rooftop is more than 10 floors up - you can hear the noise from the busy traffic below.
The hotel is simply known as Lex to locals, adding a thing more than it is on Escario St will confuse most taxi drivers. Although the location is not exactly central it is only at most 120 pesos to get to most places around Cebu city. The service we experienced was outstanding, well above what we were expecting. The rooms were clean and nice, the pool and rooftop area is also great, we do this it would benefit from some more plants though. The breakfast buffet Lex puts on is excellent so make the most of it.
Nice place to stay in Cebu. The price is quite good for the quality of the facilities. The room was very nice and clean and comfortable. Close to a Macdonalds restaurant and 7 eleven store. Highly recommended
i stayed there for new year's eve and new year's day. i made my reservation weeks ahead and yet when I checked-in, i did not get my room until 4:15 pm. Even with this long delay (check-in is @ 2pm), when I got to the room it was still not fully ready. There was a leaky toilet hose that caused water to be all over the bathroom floor, and yet Front Desk personnel and maintenance was slow to action when notified. The basement parking situation is terrible. I drive a pick-up truck and there is hardly any wiggle room to make turns...getting in and out of parking is a mess. Hopefully service and attention to detail will improve.
I spent 4 nights in a superior double room. The staff are great here and immediately make you feel welcome and provided impeccable service throughout my stay. The room was clean and fresh, with the room well made-up each day with new toiletries. The breakfast was great with slight variations each day, with a great selection is of western and Filipino breakfast foods. The pool and gym areas are well kept and stylish and it was rarely busy whilst I was there often having the pool or gym to myself. The pool is situated on the roof with nice evening views over the city. The only downside to the hotel is its location, but the hotel provides a free shuttle service to Ayala mall and will happily flag down a taxi should you wish to travel elsewhere. If you enjoy walking it's possible to walk to Ayala mall in 30 mins, or to the tourist sites such as the cathedral and fort in in 45-60 mins Mango square is about 30 mins by foot. If you are walking be careful crossing the road outside the hotel it can get a little crazy. There are convenience stores and restaurants within 2 mins of the hotel. An unexpected extra was a Christmas gift from the hotel left on the bed on Christmas Eve: a power charger battery for phones and apple products. Overall an amazing hotel, I'll definitely stay again on my return to Cebu.
great service, reasonable price, the room is clean, bed is comfortable, the all the staff work here are very kind, and never ask for tip. it take about 20mins from Mactan Airport. there is McDonald, Starbucks, seven-eleven near by.
My third stay here, last year i tried a superior room and a bussines room, this time i had 3 nights in a deluxe room room 701,and it was really nice, even bathroom had a tv for laying down in the bathtube and watch movie,,,, Really nice rooftop swimmingpool good view and big room with a nice big bed, staff is nice, breakfast ok, but sad to have to wait every morning for have a table, some days they had breakfast even in the reception area, one night the neighbour room beside me ,,, Japanes or koreans had a party until 5:30, i called the reception 04:00 AM to tell that they was really noisy, but nothing happened they continued to 05:30,,,,,,, :-(,,,,,,, Check out took almost half an hour ,so if you have a plane to catch ,, think about this if this issues had not happen i had give it a 5
I Chose this hotel because the price is affordable and international hotel chain. Check in and check out is flawless. The service is good and everyday there always someone called my room to ensure everything is ok. The breakfast at first day (Friday) is very good, lot of selections, service is warm and the food taste good. however on the second day (Saturday) the selection is not as many as Friday and the food taste just acceptable. On Saturday we have to had the breakfast in the lobby next to elevator not at the restaurant. My Bathroom does not equip with bathtub, the shower pressure is strong enough and overall the bathroom is clean. The location is close with Jolibee, 7-11 and one of the best lechon according to Anthony Bourdain (Zubuchon) Down Side: Ayala is not walking distance (well, you can walk but not recommended). if you want to shop, it's better to stay nearby Ayala.
Nice hotel, but disappointed with their booking process. To start with the good, it's a nice location in the heart of Cebu, the rooftop terrace/pool is fab, wifi worked well, and the rooms are bright and modern. All the staff were friendly. When I made my reservation I indicated I had a best western travel card I wanted to redeem as payment. They ignored this, and despite the booking terms saying payment would be when I arrived, they charged my credit card the full amount before arrival and then said they couldn't change anything. Therefore my stay here ended up costing me over 30% more than I had planned for. This put a pretty big damper on my stay.
We chose this hotel because it was centrally located and cheaper than the hotels around Ayala mall. It was not so important for us to be located in the vicinity of any mall since we didn't go to Cebu to shop. The hotel have a swimming pool on their deck floor which is on the 11th floor. Breakfast was buffet and the selection was pretty good. Their bacon did not taste at all so skip it but you can order omelette, your choice of ingredients. It was easy to get a taxi. Just tell the guard at the lobby. You have to allot 10 min waiting time. Cebu traffic is lilke Manila traffic now. We were amazed at how much it has changed since the last time we visited this place some 13 years ago. The room was spacious and bathroom big. We highly recommend this hotel.
the rooms are well kept. a classy and very stylish ensemble of furnitures make you feel at home. With a unique offering of a swimming pool on the roof deck, you will see most of the skyline of metro Cebu. Its proximity to the go-to places in Cebu also create an undeniable value added bonus.
hotel with warm and friendly staff . Nice swimming pool ,awesome breakfast...from hotel 10 mins cab ride to Ayala shopping. Mcdonald , Jollibee , 7 eleven and couples of restaurant just a minute walk from hotel.
After a few attempts at contacting the hotel for a direct rate for 1 person only, they quoted a much dearer rate than through a booking site. I booked through hoteltravel.com and was really looking forward to my stay, as the reviews were so good. The room was clean and large. The bed was large and comfortable with a choice of 2 pillows - one so big your neck would be almost vertical and the other reminded me of a small sack of rice. The small window in the room looked over an iron walkway. For a hotel of that class I expected the curtains to be blackout and to fit the window properly. I asked if this was normal in all rooms and was told yes. Though I would assume that isn't true. The bathroom comes with shampoo, conditioner and the like. The shower is over head and there is another spout. Though it was clean, the mirror looked like it had gum stuck behind it and the shower was stained from years of use. Breakfast which was for 2, was ok. Not a lot of western style options and the pancakes and bacon were cold. You can have hot eggs made to order. Staff were friendly and helpful. The shuttle bus to SM & Ayala mall leaves at 11am and 5pm daily. For some strange reason when you check out you are given a piece of paper to give to the guy at the door - they are approx 3 meters away from each other! The hotel isn't close to anything and I'm at a loss to understand why it has such good reveiws. If I go back to Cebu again I wouldn't stay here.
Stayed here for 2 nights and have felt genuine service from the staff. I forgot to let them know in advance that we will be picked up at 5am for our tour, hence won't be able to have our breakfast, but the front desk receptionist had gone out of her way to ensure we could bring something to eat given a very short notice and considering it's very early in the morning. The packed breakfast came with pastries and best tasting hot chocolate! It reminded me of old fashioned Spanish chocolate my grandmother used to make. When we came back, the room was spotless clean as if we haven't used it the previous night. Their housekeeping team definitely did a good job! Had a swim during the night but the deck area's pool lighting is not the best. Its about 4ft deep and just good for dipping as it is quite small to do lap swimming. There is also a gym if you're a buff. The room we had is on the 9th floor which is quiet enough but my brother's room on the 7th (705) is noisy so better wear an earplug if you mind the noise. They could offer airport pick up depending on the availability but its a lot cheaper to just grab a cab from and to the airport and shouldn't cost you more than PHP300 depending on the traffic
We stayed in Cebu City for two nights and one night in Kawasan Badian. Our last night's accommodation was Antel Plus Lex, a fitting culmination to an awesome Cebu weekend tour. The lobby is the envy of other hotels in its category. High ceiling, ample space for waiting guests and floor-to-ceiling glass walls which gives for a more spacious feel seeing the busy intersection outside. The rooms have this classic feel. You know that this hotel has been here for a while but it holds a dignity of being well subscribed yet well kept. The furnishing inside you know are expensive the shower I love. 5-star hotel feel. Sophistication, details, comfort. All here. The cable tv I don't like so much though because it was not the clear it felt like watching over antenna tv. Also the elevator I find a bit unresponsive. Other than these very minor details I have no more issues. The pool at the rooftop is love. I thought the concrete accent above the pool looks disturbing but in reality gives the poolside area a majestic feel. You feel more protected from the sun or any flying object since the area is not completely exposed. A gym with a floor-to-ceiling walls adds dimension to this rooftop amenity. There was a party the night of our stay so we were not able to take a dip but the view from here either night or day is indeed lovely. The hotel is located very near Fuente Osmeña which means it is smacked in a happening district, the more old district of Cebu City. If you are for modern pursuits, Ayala Business District is only a few minutes by cab. Also noticed many new stores and dining spots blocks away from Lex. Oh, the restaurant, although a little constrained in space punches above its weight. A diverse mix of food offering all delectable. We enjoyed our stay at Lex, my only wish is that we could have stayed longer.
Hotel is a 150 peso cab ride to Ayala Mall or the hotel runs a free shuttle 2x a day. We visited Ayala almost daily for restaurants, movies, and light shopping. Great mall, better than most in the U.S. We had 3 deluxe rooms. Roomy, comfy beds, 24 hour room service,ok wifi, excellent staff all around, nice rooftop pool with bar and food, excellent morning breakfast included, walk to some restaurants and coffee places. Down side, noisy street outside.Big downside for me was I booked through the hotels reservation dept.and got charged almost double if I had booked online. They did change it for me after I complained to the front desk. I still had to pay the high price for the first night. Be careful there.... We'd stay there again.
We have stayed here on two separate occasions already (2013 and 2014).. -bed and pillows was super comfy -wifi was fast -superb view -spacious room -efficient work desk and chair -proximity to many establishments -quick in room service -checkin and checkout? a breeze -good buffet breakfast spread -friendly chef who granted my hubby's request It's like. . We've booked BestLex every year that we visit Cebu! and on those times, they never failed us =) So, next month Dec 2015, we'll be back and will be staying for 17 nights, I guess =) Can't wait. See you BestLex!
Right from the word go this hotel is perfect with staffs, excellent with amneties and location. An awesome property...been stayed many times. Very much adorable staffs. Wi-Fi is improved from before as it was not so good. But now that also been sorted out..
Second stay at his property, conveniently located in the Capitol area a short cab ride from the big malls. Corner room was bright and comfortable. The rooftop pool is really nice for a smallish pool and the staff (throughout) are a pleasure. The problems: wi-fi was just terrible, with slow speeds and numerous dropped connections making it nearly impossible to make an airline reservation, for instance. This inferior internet experience is not attributable to the city overall, because the nearby Marriott has much superior internet service with no dropped connections. Another big disappointment was the restaurant, which I quite liked during my previous stay but has slipped badly since. All in all, even given the benefits accruing to me as a BW Diamond member, I'll not likely return. I've found the Quest and the Marriott to have superior food and superior locations.
i booked my reservation through online about a month before the trip. when the day for the reservation came and we tried to check in past their check in time, the front desk clerk told me that the K room that i booked wasn't available. the clerk asked if it was okay for my partner and i to switch to a smaller bed type or they can put two beds together. i asked how it was possible for the K room to not be available when they've already charged my card for it, he couldnt answer my question. i told him to go ahead and put two beds together and he spoke with somebody over the radio for it and told us to wait. so we waited, he called us back up to the front desk and told us our room was ready and the staff can take our things for us. seconds later, he apologized and let us know that they were preparing the wrong room and asked us to wait again. by that time, i was already frustrated. coming from america, i was very tired and it was upsetting that the check in process took more time than it should have. finally when check in was done and we got to the room, the bedroom and bathroom were clean, ac didnt work so well. we were just tired so we werent so picky with everything and it was only for one night. the next day came and we were trying to check out, even check out took awhile and we had some place to be. we were just ready to leave. i advise better communication between the staff? place was clean so that was good.
We booked 4 rooms and stayed for almost 2 weeks. We experienced how poor the "coordination" of staffs including the Manager; we advised the Manager that we're going to extend our stay for another night and he said "OK, noted" but on the following day we were still transferred to other room by the staffs, worst they transferred us in the smoking area floor. Their reason 1) we did not notify them that we're going to extend; 2) our room will be used by the APEC Summit delegates who booked online; and 3) we just have to wait for the Manager (arriving at 10PM shift) to clear things out. But was the sense of notifying the Manager and approving our extend when they will just transfer us just to accommodate the delagates? If only there was a proper coordination.
The rooms and service at this hotel are excellent but the restaurant is poor. It is too small for the number of people staying in the hotel so much so that tables spill out into the lobby. It says its an international restaurant but this is not the case. The bellboys and reception staff are fantastic. I will definitely stay there again BUT eat outside which is not a problem in Cebu.
Booked 3 days business room. We flew in at 1am and we're allowed to hang out at the lobby with complimentary coffee and tea before heading off to simala shrine at 5am. We came back and check in was a breeze and our luggage already in our room. Daily buffet breakfast was superb and staff were very attentive. Good location. Comfortable stay and definitely will be coming back.
stayed there in april and wrote a review titled WONT BOTHER STAYING ANYWHERE ELSE and that still holds true. Miss Rona and her staff took great care of me. I really cant say enough about the place, in is central to everything in the city, it has a great breakfast buffet include in the stay and the pool on the roof is amazing. if you find yourself in need of in formation of any kind(ferry, bus, shops or anything else) the staff will find it for you. if you've stayed in Cebu city before you know there are 2 things that are at the top of the list when searching for a hotel. cleanliness and the shower while considering the cost. the hotel was spotless and DAMN the showers were the best!!! $80 U.S. booked through booking.com. However, if your smart you might take the time to email their reservation team(care of Miss Rona) and see if she will improve on that price. shhh, I din't suggest that
Enjoy this hotel very much . Staff are friendly & service was very good . Location to main areas excellent . Highly recommend this as a place to stay . Room & shower where top class . Roof pool was an attraction & Friday /Saturday a grill is located on pool level
It was our first hotel experience as a family (with my wife and son). It's sad that we stayed only for a very short time at the hotel. Room ambiance is relaxing. Best part was the pool. My son totally enjoyed swimming.
Our stay, over all, was very pleasant. It is very good value for money because of the very good experience in almost all aspects of the hotel. 1. Room. This is what I loved most, a five star feel in a three star hotel. While the lobby and building is very unassuming, its rooms boast of complete, modern amenities to ensure one's comfort. The king bed is California King sized. I know because it fits me and my husband plus our kid. The regular kung doesn't fit us all. To make us more comfy, they offered to give us an extra bed free of charge. That's because I booked online and asked for twin beds put together however they only had King bedrooms left. Indeed a pleasant surprise. By complete I mean heavy robes, terry slippers, huge bathroom, nice lighting, hair dryer, premium quality toiletries, work desk, among others. 2. Pool. The attendant is very attentive. First he offered floaters for my little boy. I also notice that he stands up and goes near the pool to look at my boy when I take a quick lap to the other end. Very warm and ensuring. 3. Overall service. Everyone is very courteous. Also they always look after the guests safety and comfort. Door man for example not only escorts us upon alighting a cab. He inspects the cab with his flashlight to make sure nothing is left. The shuttle service to mall is very comfortable. The driver is likewise very courteous. Lastly, their housekeeping. One night my son threw up on our bed and on all the new towels delivered to us that night. I was apologizing for the inconvenience and he constantly assured that it is not an inconvenience at all. He changed all the beddings, replaced all towels. What strikes me what the constant reassurance he gave me that everything is fine and that he is very happy to help out at midnight. 4. Breakfast buffet. Their restaurant is small and cramped but the tables are comfortable. Also they have a good spread. I particularly liked all their soups -- cream of broccoli that's so full of broccoli. 5. Location. It is in the middle of the Ayala Commercial District and the F. Osmena area. Which makes is an okay location. Traffic is always very heavy though. Nonetheless, it is very near the Capitol Commercial and Escario Commercial area (right beside) so the night spots are quite near. 6. Price. If you don't avail online booking their price will be almost close to Marriott's. So make sure to book online for the huge discount and good value for money.
We had a great stay, verg nice overlooking view. Sadly was the pool in that moment in maintenance. The breakfast was great. Helpfull and friendly staff. We didnt hear much of the noises from outside, so it was a comfort stay.
We loved this hotel. 5 star quality at a reasonable price. Wonderfully comfortable bed and pillows. Nice large rooms. Nice rooftop pool and outdoor lounge. Breakfast is not huge but plenty of delicious options. Great staff. Everything was perfect for us here.
We arrived at 5 AM after a very long flight, and the staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and welcoming. Stayed in a Delux room on the 3rd floor. We were originally warned that the 3rd floor might be a bit noisy, but we didn't find this to be the case at all. In any case, the rooms are quite large, very clean, and the showers have excellent water pressure and hot water (something which many hotels in the Philippines lack). The bathroom also has a nice hot tub with a TV, which is the perfect way to relax after a long flight The pool upstairs is also very nice and has a great view of the city. Overall, it is a great hotel to stay at in Cebu, especially for the price.
Having just completed our second stay at The Lex in a year we are impressed with the consistent quality of service, ammenities and cleanliness. Our rooms (Business Suites) have been of a good size to be able to spread out during our two week stays & room staff do a great job in ensuring that we always came back to a well presented room at the end of the day. We will return to The Lex as it is very good value for money, it is well located for shopping and restaurants, we love the rooftop pool area and we know what we will get with our stay:consistent quality.
