« Ocean views and more »

We stayed for four nights in May and can't wait to go back. We had an ocean facing room on the second floor with to balconies. Location and views were fabulous but can be a little loud because you are in the heart of Capri town but that's also the fun of it. Room was very lovey - stylish, spotless and comfortable. Breakfast was great with terrace seating overlooking the main drag. Staff was incredibly sweet and accommodating. Lemon grove was charming. Wish it had been warm enough to swim. Great value and experience.

    « Relaxation personified »

This hotel is in a perfect location in a quiet but convenient part of Capri. The pool is adequate & the lemon garden is beautiful. Staff are so friendly we had lunch On a couple of occasions and the salads are fantastic. This hotel is really well kept & clean !!! Makes you feel it's more about keeping traditions rather than commercial viability ????????????

« Perfect in every way »

Cannot recommend this hotel enough. It's location is amazing. The price was very reasonable. We were lucky enough to spend two nights in a top floor sea view room. The view is outstanding, and you would expect to pay a lot more for it. The staff were helpful and polite throughout. We are already looking to book again for next year. The Hotel Syrene is a gem! Thank you to all of the staff.

« Beautiful location, amazing service »

Staying here for 4 nights for a girly trip away. Hotel location is perfect, right in the shopping area, but quite and relaxing. Pool area is great for sunbathing although the pool is a little refreshing. We had sea view rooms and it was breathtaking every morning. Hotel decor is very authentic and tasteful. The service has been amazing - I left my favourite and treasured leather Jacket in a cafe in Naples before boarding the hydrofoil to Capri. On arrival at the hotel I mentioned it to the reception staff and they contacted the cafe on the main land. Surprisingly the cafe had my jacket and the hotel arranged for a member of staff to collect it and bring it to the hotel. This service was fantastic - thank you so much!!

« Great location and views »

In the centre of Capri. Great location. Everything is nearby. All the brands shops are located in the same road. It has great views of the sea and the mountain. I have the deluxe sea view room with beautiful views and 2 balconies.

« Great Location and sweet rooms »

The Hotel was pleasant, well situated and beautiful. The detail of the rooms was lovely although we did not have water views it was still nice and quiet. It is central to the designer shops and city square which made walking around so easy. We were here for 5 days and have no complaint, the staff were great at facilitating tours and boat activities. The breakfast is average and the clientele is older (the pool does aqua aerobics for the older folk in an evening) so as young travellers it wasn't a buzzing hotel. However, this was the general vibe across the city in early september so is to be expected. I would happily return to this hotel.

    « Capri »

The location is good and the place is very pretty. Breakfast was okay, the pool was very pretty. The staff was helpful in arranging travel plans. All in all, I probably wouldn't stay there again but it was fine and considering we booked so late, it was pretty good. Our friends stayed at a different hotel and upon arrival they were given funicular tickets. Our hotel didn't provide that and it would have been a nice touch.

« Room very poorly soundproofed »

We stayed for two nights at the hotel. The rooms are clean and the decoration is of old school Capri style. The front desk staff was quite cold compared to the restaurants and the pool. We booked a room called "Superior". the latter was located on the first floor and unfortunately the room was not soundproofed. You can hear the lonely rattle of the left neighbor, the television and the greasy cough of the neighbors on the right as well as the high heels of the neighbor of the top. Unbearable! For a hotel of this standard, the only (cold) response we received was "the hotel is full" before I even made the request. To believe that they were used to this type of request and did not intend to solve them by the. The hotel seems pretty active on this site to respond to bad reviews. I tell you straight away: do not even try to "apologize for the poor quality of my stay" by responding to my opinion. Your apologies, I do not want them and I will not give them to you. I take this opportunity to leave a message to the moderators of this website by specifying that the hotel is no longer referenced as a relay and castles ("Relais et Chateaux"). This title has been lost for years while positive (but old) comments claim it. Another negative: the lack of shuttle to accomodate us from the port to the hotel. We had to get by alone to come and go, which is absolutely unworthy for a hotel at this price! Only luggage service of course paying is offered (at 15 € each luggage!). For the Capri's novices, this shuttle service is essential for your stay. The hotel is only accessible after climbing a hill via funicular which is painful after a flight and a boat carrying alone its business. This, knowing that taxis are absolutely overpriced, and that rental cars are prohibited to traffic in the island. Breakfast is good. The breakfasts and dinners are not good value for money compared to other hotels. In short, I suggest you to stay in a slightly more expensive hotel but which will give you a free shuttle (included in the price) and that will have soundproofed rooms (which is the minimum for all hotels in the world!).

    « Idyllic Property with Amazing Owner/Staff »

My partner, 3yr old daughter, and I had recently stayed at this beautiful property for 7 days in mid June 2017. It is in the heart of Capri and in the midst of the action. The property itself is beautiful; the rooms are newly renovated, fresh, spacious and as neat and clean as anything we have experienced. We have stayed at reputed 5 stars in all our frequent travels, but this one can surely run rings around 5 stars in terms of cleanliness, despite not being a 5 star itself. We had an ocean view room, and it was magical. I couldn't spot a speck of dust in the beautiful white themed room. The gentleman of an owner, Vetterio, is ever so accommodating with a courteous attitude. He and his friendly staff made sure we are well looked after with all our special dietary requirements especially with a small child, and that all our needs are timely and efficiently met. The staff is phenomenally good and helpful, especially Gianpiero, who was our go to man for all requirements. Top guy. Francesco and Giovanni were other great lads. And Guiseppe and Constanzo at the breakfast, who always wore an infectious smile while preparing the most delicious breakfast for us every morning. They were so loving and mindful towards our daughter and had everything ready without notice every day before our arrival at the breakfast. Beautiful people. Capri is scintillatingly beautiful, but due to these people it becomes a destination of choice and memories become the fondest. Highly recommended property for variety of invaluable reasons stated above. Keep it up Syrene. You surely act your name (Serene) Thanks for making our stay a memorable one. Best, Ash Gupta

    « Lovely Hotel »

Hotel Syrene is well located in the hub of Capri. If you like to shop, you will be in heaven, or if you want to relax and chill, it is also a lovely place to enjoy the Island. We had a gorgeous room on the top floor with a large balcony overlooking the water. Only downside in the bathroom was the shower....very little space between the tap fittings and the shower curtain!! The bar/restaurant and pool area is serene and delightful. Lemon trees shade and add a great atmosphere to the area. We had a couple of lunches here while we spent time by the pool and the food was delicious and what you would expect from a hotel of this standard. There was good internet throughout the hotel.

« fantastic location in the heart of Capri »

Fantastic location! So close to everywhere you would want to go in Capri but quiet also. amazing value for money and friendly hospitable staff. A true gem of a hotel. Lovely pool area and a beautiful outdoor area among the lemon trees. Everything was so close we could easily just pop back in to the hotel when we felt like a break. Our room also had a large outdoor terrace which looked over the street and down towards the water. Do not think of it as a Best Western - it is not!

« Amazing value in Capri Town »

Recently wrapped up a three night stay on stunning Capri at this wonderfully amazing hotel. Paid $450 a night for a Queen Bed Sea view room, which had high ceilings, was spacious and had a nice sized bathroom. The small balcony overlooked the "street" (a pedestrian only street) and hotel breakfast canopy below as well as the Quizisana and a piece of the Faraglioni and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The staff is wonderful and the breakfast was very good. I especially call out Giacomo and Giuseppe, who provided wonderful service whenever we asked. The pool deck is amazing and had ample loungers for the guests, the pool itself was good sized and there is a wonderful lemon grove next to the pool where you can lunch or have an espresso or drink. Also, there's a bar and changing area down near the pool. The location is exquisite as it's just past the Quisisana at the quiet end of Capri Town, not too far from the main square but not too close either. Capri gets busy during the day but quiet and lovely during the evenings. Morning walks through the mazelike pedestrian streets was a true gift. Just a wonderful place and I felt like this hotel was an exceptional value. I'd spring from a higher level room that we had, but the place books far in advance. This place is also within steps of amazing restaurants like Faraglioni and Villa Margherita, as well as the high end shopping. Just a great hotel.

    « Wedding anniversary treat »

Writing this review on behalf of my parents who stayed here for their 40th wedding anniversary. After spending our honeymoon in Capri in the 70's we returned and spent 10 days at the Syrene. A centrally situated hotel with a relaxing pool area, very good restaurant under the lemon trees, great views, very comfortable tiled rooms and really helpful and attentive staff throughout. Capri is not just about designer shops and restaurants unless you have very deep pockets. Discover the side streets, family restaurants, pizzerias, wonderful ice creams and grocery stores with their fresh fruits and experience the real Capri. Start early (take your camera and a bottle of water) and take the steep coastal and pine shaded walk to the Faraglioni rocks and Natural Arc, great for photographs. Visit the pebble beach at Marina Piccola, take towel and shade because although the sunbeds are very good they are expensive. Make time to visit Ana Capri then take a peaceful chairlift ride over the vines and tree tops to Monte Solaro a tremendous place for photos (again). We would highly recommend staying at the Syrene whilst you discover the real Capri, it is in an ideal location to start your adventures and they are always more than happy to help with organising trips.

« Awesome views from rooms and pool »

We only stayed one night, I wish we had stayed more. It has always been on my "bucket list" to stay overnight on Capri. We had a hotel on the mainland on Sorrento booked, so we jumped over to Capri to stay one night in Capri, wile maintaining our booking in the Sorrento hotel. After seeing the Best Western Syrene, I wished I had booked more nights. The view from the room was a panoramic view of the woods and the Bay of Naples. The pool had the view of the cliffs and the water temperature was just right. The breakfast was wonderful. I love the local red orange juice. The Aperol l Spritz at the pool with the crackers and olives was tasty. We had a slight problem with the room safe when we first checked in. The Manager sent someone to our room immediately fixed it. At night, we took the bus to AnnaCapri and realised we could have spend more time on the island. We will defintiely saty here if we ever got back to Capri! It was Bellisima! Going to visit on a one-day afternoon without staying overnight, you do not expereinece the real "Capri" experience. We highly reccomend the Best Western.

    « Relaxing »

From the minute you walk into the lobby of Hotel Syrene you feel relaxed. It's a beautiful hotel tucked into the hill on Capri. The patio is an enchanting lemon tree "grove" that is lovely to just sit and relax, have a drink. Perfection. The pool was perfect after a day of touring. Our room was spacious and we just loved the tile floors! We did not have a view, but it didn't matter, we loved it anyhow. The staff, both at the front desk and the pool area, were very attentive and helpful. We will definitely be back! My favorite stop on our 10 day tour of Italy.

« lovely, well located property with great pool and good restaurant »

We stayed for three nights at this hotel located on Via Camarelle, a stone's throw from the Quisisana. The lobby is beautiful and our room which had a garden view was very quiet (even though we were right beside the elevator), well furnished and well appointed in all respects. The ceilings are high; the bathroom large, with good eco-friendly bath amenities (there is an effort to recycle at this hotel, also in the breakfast room); lots of closet space and shelves, a balcony and bathrobes. The mattresses were very comfortable and the pillows were satisfactory (feather ones were made available on request). The housekeeping staff were extremely warm and friendly and eager to please as were the wait staff in the breakfast room in which a full buffet was served indoors and on a beautiful terrace. The menu options were complete and basic eggs were made to order at no extra charge. There was no fresh juice however but this was of no great significance. Thanks to Giovanni and Guiseppe in the breakfast room. The reception staff and concierge, in particular Gianpiero, gave good information, and their responses to requests or to any problems were swift. Unfortunately, the television was not working properly during our stay because the system was overly complicated for us and there were some issues with the safe but the latter problem was satisfactorily resolved and we were so busy that the lack of media service was not a problem. Wifi was good throughout our stay. All in all front desk staff were very responsible and professional if not overly warm or enthusiastic. Only real issue with the room was the light that constantly went on every time one enters the bathroom area. If using the facilities at different times of the night, one could easily wake up one's roommate. Still, a good hotel, that I would recommend to anyone travelling to Capri.

    « Great location »

My husband and I spent 4 nights here. The location is close to the action, but just past the crowded tourist shopping area. The lobby is spacious and well decorated, and the lemon garden and pool area are superb. It appears that they allow people who aren't guests at the hotel to use the pool which can make it harder to find poolside lounge chairs. Breakfast on the balcony was nice, but don't leave your food unattended for even a minute or the seagulls will take it and be gone before you know it! We had an ocean view room, but it got pretty noisy around 3 am each night. I think there was a garbage collection center across the street. It sounded like they were dumping glass several times which scared me out of my sleep. I would pick a pool/garden view. It would be on the quiet side and looked like they had nice views also. Overall, a great place in perfect location.

    « Capri Holiday »

Delightful hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will organise transfers to/from Naples airport and Sorrento. We stayed for two nights which we didn't feel was quite enough. For those looking for exercise on your travels, you don't need a gym in Capri!

« Wonderful hotel, in the perfect place »

We loved this hotel and found the service exceptional. The location is perfect right on Via camarelle. We had room 76 with a terrace on the 3rd floor. The view was just fabulous. The surrounds, pool and restaurant are all very beautiful. They have a great breakfast too. All the staff are lovely and happy to help with anything. Thank you especially to Costanzo who looked after us for breakfast each morning and was fabulous!

    « Excellent Value »

Hotel Syrene is in a perfect location right in the heart of the Capri shopping district. Our room was a bit small #74. There was no dresser and we were only there for 3 nights, but with 2 suitcases on the floor (in the corners) there was very little space to get around the bed. Everything was spotlessly clean though. Nice balcony. We were the only ones at the pool most afternoons. I imagine in season the outside bar is really nice, but in May it's not open. There are not individual room controls for HVAC. When sleeping, we did not want the slider wide open. We shut the hurricane shades and opened the slider, but that really didn't offer enough cool air. By the weekend the hotel must have received more than just our request and the AC was on. But again- no in room controls. You get whatever temp they decide to keep it at. Breakfast is pretty good. The scrambled eggs in the steam table were a little gross -watery and tasted weird. They will fry an egg for you - no problem- but they we always cooked through (over hard). I don't think Italians eat fried eggs. The staff was exceptional throughout the hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

    « Hobeymoon »

Stayed one night in Capri very expensive worth it as a huge treat Hotel was fab the only downfall was there was two single beds pushed together that as I sat on came apart The blue grotto tour cost for two people €58 (€15 each at port then the hidden charge as u arrive there another €14 each ) It was amazing scary going in such a small entry having to lie in a boat but amazing singing tour guides etc amazing got the boat to positano another €42 Breakfast in hotel was amazing

« Best spot in Capri »

Three couples, two nights in late April ... great hotel ... large rooms, large bathrooms, big balconies ... breakfast is outstanding ... Vittorio and his staff are very friendly and very helpful ... this is the place in Capri!

« Great value, great location »

We spent 6 nights in Italy: 2 nights at this hotel, 2 nights Positano, 2 nights Firenze. The Syrena was by far the cheaper of the 3 hotels and also the best. If you want cutting edge design, then this is not for you. It is a simple family run hotel with a great pool, very clean rooms, good beds, nice breakfast and lovely service. The location is central near all the shops yet fairly quiet in the evening. The view from front rooms is stunning.m I really advice a stay here and would stay again.

    « Beautiful. »

Stayed 3 nights and liked every minute, very clean , beautiful tiles, very nice property, right on the main pedestrian shopping street, short walk to the main square. It is Best Western but only by name, you won't be disappointed.

    « Great Stay »

This hotel is in a great location, a short stroll from the main square. Its also a good base to take on some of the great walks on the island. Upon arrival they gave a free upgrade to a suite, the rooms are spotlessly clean with fantastic facilities. Two highlights are the breakfast balcony over looking the bay and the pool area is very relaxing whilst getting sun all day.

    « What a treat »

The location, anyone will notice after a day in Capri, could not be better. Via Camerelle is nicer, wider and less crowded than the other main streets of the place. Two short blocks from the Piazzetta and on the way to the Faraglioni. It is also where the best restaurants, if expensive in this case, are located. On our search for a hotel of moderate - really - price we did not expect one so comfortable in this expensive island. The spacious, clear room we got overlooked the hotel´s peaceful lemon grove, where the restaurant Limonaia, of the hotel, serves nice-good priced Italian fare. Beyond the grove is the smimming pool and on a higher ground a separated large terrace/sun deck. In the very center of Capri, the Syrene owns a surprising large area. The view towards the sea, on the front rooms, which we saw from the front terrace where breakfast is served, looked to us less appealing than the garden one, that shows the grove and the city of Capri behind climbing the hills. Staff very corteous, efficient and helpful even in matters like confirmations in Sorrento for a rental car and also for hiring the round the island boat tour. For the same price that all tours are offered in the net, we got an agile speeboat, with a nice sun deck. Breakfast was just OK, of all things, the one I would rate less remarkable. Having two large pieces of luggage, we used the service available in Capri, for a cost, to carry the items from the Marina Grande and deliver them to the hotel. This service is independent of the hotel and works both ways, to and fro. Recommend in this situation, it is a tremendous hassle to carry large items in the "funiculare" that links the port to the town.

    « Serenity in Capri »

My girlfriend and I stayed at Hotel for one night out of a four night stay in Capri. The hotel and grounds are very beautiful and right in the heart of town of Capri yet tucked away in a quiet location. There is a lovely pool with lovely landscaping including a nice grove of lemon trees. We enjoyed the meals we had there including the delicious lemon pasta on the terrace by the pool. All of the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. I forgot a personal item in my room upon check out. Upon my return to Canada it was a significant effort to coordinate a courier to pick up the package and the hotel staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful if facilitating the pick up on their end. Thank you very much!

Having stayed in a number of hotels in Europe under the Best Western label none have the distinct mid range profile of a North American Best Western. We hesitated before booking the Syrene. Not because of the brand but because of the pictures. It just did not look appealing for an anniverary stay in Capri. However after reading the reviews we decided to book with the intention of relocating after our arrival if need be. Well we stayed four nights! We were assigned a very large and confortable room overlooking the sea. The adjacent garden filled with lemon trees is just an oasis of tranquility. Our concern about being located on via Carmelere, the main shopping street, disappeared quickly as the action tones down as soon as the tours leave the island in the afternoon. In fact Carmelere is most enjoyable in early morning when all the shopkeepers are cleaning up windows and displays prior to opening. All staff very helpful and attentive to your needs. Breakfast waiters are just a wonderful, smiling and well trained team. Make sure you have breakfast on the terrace and don't miss their exquisite torte caprese. The only small drawback preventing a five star score for the Syrene is the noise from nearby guests slamming their doors upon departure in the early morning.

    « Luxury !!!! »

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Was worth every penny. Staff are amazing. Service was perfect. The island of Capri is stunning. Restaurants shopping everything was perfect. If your in Italy you must go to Capri and stay at the best western

    « Anniversary Return »

We returned for our 40th anniversary of our visit to Capri and all the reviews of this hotel are so true location, food, staff etc excellent Would return without a doubt but as these reports are to be helpful our visit was initially marred as follows. It had been made clear that this was a celebration However due to management oversight we did not receive our sea view accommodation, the wine ordered by our children did not materialise and congratulatory cards had been opened! The staff made every effort subsequently to make up for this mistake and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

    « Very, very relaxing »

A really stunning and stylish layout. We started our stay with lunch in the lemon grove courtyard overlooking the pool area. Food was a good quality. The breakfast was fabulous and staff were very attentive as we sat drinking coffee overlooking the med. We had a room overlooking the garden which was immaculately clean, cool and spacious. But our only gripe was a shower that was convinced it was a tap! No jet or decent pressure. But a very relaxed stay in stylish surroundings.

« Very nice hotel with a good location »

Comfortable, quite elegant and well maintained hotel, with a good location. When a couple of the rooms allocated to our group weren't suitable, Reception was quick to change us to better rooms. Breakfast was good on the terrace. It's a pity one has to pay so much for the transfer of luggage from the ferry... should be included in the room rate.

« very good location, breakfast, »

very good location. very good breakfast and they are a big room whith balcony in front of is very cleanand they are a good pool.attentive staff , very safety .everything went as planned.i recommend.

« great location and great and helpfull team »

We loved capri , the hotel was very well located , in the center, we had an amazing view from our balcony , sun set and sun rise were breath taking , the hotel is an authentic one , with nice old ceramic prints , the only negative thing was the shortage amenities , only soap and cream are available and nothing else , no slippers , no bath robes , no complementary coffee whihc are basics in such standards of hotels . other than this we LOVED our stay . Special thanks to Vittorio , he was really helpful, with a permanent smile , he was the cherry on the cake in the hotel.

« Comfortable stay in the heart of Capri »

Hi , Have visited this hotel in September 2016, this is located at the most fashionable street of Capri .. All the best restaurants and shops are on same street . Breakfast offered here is a combination of traditional Italian and international mix . Only issue we have faced while staying here was with the water pressure in the bathroom which was way too low . Rest everything was fine

« Leisure Trip to Capri »

We chose this hotel for its great location. The street where the hotel is located is really chic and we are loving it. Breakfast at the hotel is good spread and the staff looks after you well. However, a bit disappointed with the hotel room. They gave us top third floor and garden facing room. Garden facing is fine but while booking it, we were shown a different layout of the room. Our room had an extra bed which we didn't ask for. Surprisingly, the water pressure in the shower is really bad. You can hardly bath properly. If I am paying this kind of money then next time I would prefer to stay at a different hotel of same price.

« Excellent hotel, lovely staff, fabulous service »

We stayed at Hotel Syrene for three nights in August 2016. From our arrival at the port to our departure the hotel was amazing. On arrival at Marina Grande we were met by the porters who took our bags for delivery to the hotel - being more used to dragging our own baggage around this was quite a novelty for us! We arrived at the hotel a little hot and bothered after a scrum on the funicular but the Receptionist was lovely and gave us a cold drink and let us sit down to get our breath back before checking us in. Back in Reception, after we'd freshened up in our room, he then gave us a comprehensive run down of places to visit and see, restaurants and walks. The room was fabulous and spacious; lovely sea view and superb bathroom with a 'proper' hair-dryer. Nothing was too much trouble for staff and we felt very special indeed. When we enquired about ferry times back to the mainland (we had a strict timetable as we had to collect a car) again Reception came to our aid - arranging for our baggage to go down to the port, booking our ferry tickets and even making enquiries to find out if our hire car could be brought to meet us from the ferry. Wonderful service. Breakfast on the terrace over-looking Via Camerelle and watching the island come to life was lovely. The poolside bar area is delightful; covered with lemon trees, very shaded and cool. We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel and our short stay and definitely would like to return for longer.

« Good hotel in very good location »

Room: good sized room, clean with balcony Wifi: yes, free and good connection (2.88mbps download 0.88mbps upload) Tea making facilities: None Bed: two single beds pushed together Towels: not bad. Good size and reasonable thickness Robes: yes Location: very good. In centre of main town within posh shops and pedestrian zone. Bathroom: very good with all the normal toiletries. Shower is over bath. Breakfast: very good. Outside and inside seating. Served from 6.30 to 10.30. Good selection of cereals, cheeses, cakes etc. Dinner: restaurant only open from 12.30 to 4.30 so for lunches only. Comments: there is a good swimming pool ( open to 6.30) and free towels are provided. Very helpful staff. Really recommended.

« Every Amenity, Perfect Location »

Enjoy eating under the lemon trees for lunch and dinner, and sitting on a beautiful terrace overlooking the water for a delicious breakfast. The hotel is perfectly located, with friendly and helpful staff. This hotel is very clean with a great pool and reliable wifi.

    « Amazing location »

This hotel is located at Via Camerelle, fulfilled with fancy shops and the most famous brands (Prada, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Swarovski, ...). Hotel has a nice swimming pool, a good restaurant (opens only for lunch), and helpful attendants. I'd stay there again if I came back to Capri.

« Great all round Hotel »

For Capri this was fantastic value and didn't disappoint. Breakfast selection was great, the pool was perfect to have a quick swim or spend the day around and the room was very generous and great fit-out. The service was a bit hit and miss depending who was behind the desk. Capri is fantastic and this Hotel is a great fit. Also there is great seating areas both outside and inside.

« A gem of a hotel on this gorgeous island. »

We loved our stay at this hotel. On arrival we received a very warm welcome which set the tone for the rest of our stay. We stayed in a room which had a balcony with beautiful views of the sea. It was the perfect place for a glass of wine before setting off for dinner. The room itself was light and airy with a very pretty tiled floor. It was very clean and well maintained. The pool offered a perfect respite after a morning of sightseeing and every member of staff was helpful and friendly. Even if you only ordered a beer they would accompany it with olives or chips. The location of the hotel is first-rate as it is on the best shopping street and close to many restaurants and bars. We enjoyed Capri Town best in the evening when all the day-trippers had gone home. For Capri the hotel rates are very acceptable. The only thing that let this charming hotel down a little was the breakfast. The juice came out of a machine and the hot selection was poor. We did enjoy the delicious cakes however. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return to Capri and the Syrene in a heartbeat.

    « Fantastic stay! »

My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights in July 2016 and couldn't be happier with our stay. The room itself was a decent size and had great AC (not so easy to find in Italy). Gianpiero at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay in Capri special. He took out a map and showed us all the spots to hit up on the island including beaches and hikes and he even made us dinner reservations at a great restaurant in Anacapri. Vittorio (if I remember his name correctly) was also great and we are looking forward to our next trip to Capri. We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to friends.

« Stunning hotel with stunning pool! »

Arrived here for honeymoon. Amazing. Service on desk was excellent. Nothing too much trouble. Really helpful. Room (23) had an awesome view over the sea with a balcony with small table and chairs -wow- gorgeous to sit on morning and evening. The pool is large, surrounded by lemon trees and sun loungers and seating. Bar service and food during the day. Towels provided. Simple but attractive room with everything we needed. Located very near the centre of Capri and easy to get to from the top of the funicular (a short walk) past top notch shops and restaurants. At the end of the road is the coast and steps down to coves and the sea easily reached via approx a 10 minute walk. Would love to return to Capri and would have no hesitation booking to stay here again.

« My home away from home in beautiful Capri! »

From the kind and very helpful staff to the comfort of the room to the food served in the bar and at breakfast, this hotel is one of my favorites. The lemon tree outside area is truly magical for lunch and/or a cocktail.

    « Our Return Visit. »

This hotel is really well situated in the heart of Capri, it has a lovely pool area, and as the pool is not huge it gets warm, which is a bonus, you have a lovely area to sit amongst lemon trees for snacks at a very good price, also the breakfast is very good, and you have a sea view. All the staff are really nice and helpful, I can recommend this hotel knowing you will not be disappointed. I will return again.

    « Fantastic Stay! »

This hotel offers beautiful rooms and common areas and top notch service. It is located on Via Camerella in the heart of the shopping district, however the hotel itself is a quiet and peaceful oasis from the heat and the crowds.. It is a 5 minute walk to the funicular and Piazza Umberta and close to all of the walkways that take you to Natural Arch and the Faraglioni Rocks. Breakfast was amazing with everything one would want to eat, both hot and cold. Service was extremely attentive. I can't wait to go back.

    « Fantastic customer service! »

This is not your typical Best Western hotel so we had no big expectations upon check-in. After a long day of frustrating transfers from Positano, the reception staff welcomed us with friendly smiles, a porter guy also helped us with our heavy luggage. We stayed in the room facing the lemon trees and swimming pool - what a beautiful view. Modern hotel, comfortable room, very clean and tidy with generous toiletries and conveniently located near shops & restaurants. Free Wi-Fi is included which is great. TV has many channels, even music channels which is great. Pool is very nice with the staff are always on stand-by to help. Our only minor comment was that the guests next to our room were smoking during our stay even though the rooms on the floor were meant to be non smoking. Maybe that could be re-confirmed prior to guests checking in if they smoke or not. We wanted to sit outside and have some drinks but were interrupted when next door guests were smoking on the balcony, the smoking smell also travelled a bit to our bathroom. Breakfast was included in our rate which was great overall - the hot food section could be improved with more choices but otherwise everything was great with the friendly wait staff always attended to our needs, even strong cappuccinos. We needed to send a big souvenir home as our luggage were already too full so we asked the reception to point us in the right direction. Instead of just informing us where the closest post office was, they actually spent their time thoroughly with us to measure the box properly and ensure we chose the right shipment option. We did not expect this at all and were very impressed with how helpful they were. Also, when we wanted to book the right tour to the Blue Grotto, they were very attentive to follow up and informing us the right advice. We are very happy with how professional, friendly and helpful all of your staff were during our stay from housekeeping, wait staff and reception staff. Special thanks to Vittorio and Francesco. Definitely 5* hotel customer service and we will not hesitate to return to your hotel in the future.

« Not your normal Best Western! »

    « Simple and Easy »

This is a great value hotel in Capri. The rooms are very well kept and the staff throughout the hotel is nice and friendly. My room had a terrace with a view, simply gorgeous. Breakfast is well served. The location could not be better. The restaurant was actually very good, enclosed within lemon grove. Definitely would come back.

    « Nice Hotel »

Location : very convenient, great actually The Hotel and grounds are beautiful Good size pool overlooking a stunning garden of lemon trees! Good breakfast on a terrace overlooking the main street and with beautiful views of the coast Welcoming and helpful staff At least some rooms require modernisation

« Perfect location, helpful reception »

On arrival our booking hadn't been updated with our increase from 2 to 3 nights through The front desk quickly rectified this on showing our confirmation and we were brought to a beautiful sea view room. It was clean and airy with lots of space. On the morning of our departure the ferries to Naples were not running so they got us a booking on one to Sorrento and details of further travel to the airport. They couldn't of been more helpful and we made our flight! Location is also central for everything.

    « Excellent Location »

Nice hotel in great location in Capri. Walk out the front door of this hotel and you are immediately on a beautiful main street in Capri. The staff of the hotel are extremely nice, friendly and helpful. We had a room with balcony facing the sea. Great views. The outdoor areas are also very nice. The room was very clean and functional but basic and a bit small. Being on Capri you would expect every room of every hotel to be very crisp and modern but the room we had should have been updated to a higher standard. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and the pool area is very nice with fragrent lemons trees adding to the experience.

« location staff all great »

having been the Capri once before we had walked by this hotel and never gave it a glance. But for the price and the accommodations, the view, the staff and the smiles well you can not beat this hotel. And don't be fooled this isn't like any Best Western you have ever seen in the USA. oh yes the dinner recommendations were terrific.

« Best hotel to stay in Capri with excellent staff »

The Best Wester Hotel Syrene was a wonderful hotel with fantastic staff and very helpful , they explained exactly what needs to be done and were generous enough to give us an upgrade at no extra cost , I wilould highly recommend anyone traveling to Capri to consider this hotel as it's very well Located with an amazing view of the sea - just couldn't get better

« Lovely place to stay »

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in April and from start to finish the staff were wonderful, always professional but friendly and approachable. Getting from Naples Airport to Capri can be a bit of a faff if you don't know the transport system but Hotel Syrene arranged an absolutely faultless transfer for us on arrival involving a taxi from the airport to the the port, ferry from there to Capri where we were met by our escort who travelled with us up into the hills as far as the taxi could go and then escorted us the rest of the way to check in at the hotel. Wonderful service (at a price of course) and the same, in reverse, for our return journey. The buffet breakfast each morning was lovely and included mini versions of some lovely Neapolitan cakes. Our room had a lovely balcony overlooking tennis courts in one direction and the sea in another. All in all we had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to stay here again if we return to Capri.

    « The good staying »

Service always at high level Peole are kind and wiling to serve I have been going to Syrene for long time It is central to all the short trip in the island it is surrounded by all Bouitiqued and Restaurants Therefore ok

« Amazing place to stay »

I don't have any negatives about this hotel. When I looked at the photos of it before I arrived I thought they rarely look like this in reality....this one did! In the middle of a beautiful street full of shops there are pretty steps up to the hotel. The entrance is lovely and and my room was gorgeous with a big balcony overlooking the garden and pool area. I had a standard room but when I emailed with a couple of questions I was told both rooms had been upgraded free of charge!! The electronic do not disturbs are a nice touch and there are big bottles of beautiful soaps and lotions in the bathroom to use aswell as a good hairdryer. As for the bed I wish I could have brought it home with me! The staff were brilliant! Friendly, helpful and happy. The ladies who keep the rooms nice are great and obviously do a fantastic job and the men behind the desk are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. The people who work in the restaurant area are just lovely and you're greeted with a smile every day. Capri is beautiful but I'm so pleased I stayed at this hotel, it made the trip which is certainly one I'll always remember. Thank you so much Hotel Syrene!!

« Best hotel stay ever »

This was a true 4 * experience. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Our room over looking the pool and lemon garden was spacious and well equipped and peaceful. Gluten free bread was delivered to my table with a smile every morning at breakfast. The hotel is ideally positioned to explore all areas of the island with excellent restaurants in easy walking distance. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to enjoy a special stay on Capri

« excelente hotel, but there are steps to get into the lobby and the room »

The hotel is amazing, great location. there is a terrace by the pool totally cover with limons, beautiful!!! If you have a difficult to walk avoid the place, first of all the location don't allowed any car ( you can get a ride from the porters, i don't know how much they charge, i only use for my luggage. Also when i went they could transport people, but in positano is forbidden) the hotel has a lot steps to get to the lobby and also to the room. I strongly recommended you to pay the porter service, so he will carry the luggage up to you! The island is amazing, great hone the tourist that spend the day leaves and you can have a nice dinner and walk around. I recommended the hotel. The breakfast is delicious.

    « Center of Capri »

This hotel is amazing. It is in the center of town so you can walk to everything The staff is friendly and helpful with everything. The breakfasts included with our rooms was fabulous. The pool is beautiful. We went off season and really had great accommodations. The very top floor with amazing water views. We asked for dinner suggestions and the night manager sent us to one of the most delightful and unusual restaurants that I have ever dined at called Edivino. It is a Best Western but with a Caprese accent.

« Not your usual Best Western »

Lovely hotel. Small but you won't stay in the room for the whole day anyway. A very unique lemon garden just within the hotel compound giving it a local feel. Spacious deck where guests can laze under the sun. Receptionist was very helpful. Will return for another stay without hesitation.

« Ideal Location, Comfortable Accommodations and Helpful Staff »

Frankly there are so many great small hotels in Capri that it would be hard to make a poor choice after evaluating hotel internet websites and guest reviews. The Best Western Hotel Syrene was our long distance choice and we were not disappointed. Although we had a general idea of the hotel's location using Google Maps we came to appreciate the fact that the hotel was just on Capri's "Rodeo Drive" with quick access to the central square, Funicular and bus hub. The hotel itself is well maintained with classic Italian furnishing/decor and a spacious layout that is inviting and comfortable. Outdoor dining (either from the dining room balcony or patio/pool) provides choices depending upon whether you want to enjoy breakfast with a morning sunrise and vista view of the Italian coast or an afternoon snack while privately relaxing by the pool. We did both and fully experienced the hotel's amenities. Our room was located on the 2nd floor with a balcony view of the walkway (street) and sea. Although mountain view rooms are available I would recommend the sea side rooms because the views are so spectacular especially at sunrise and sunset. We stayed four nights and got to both know and depend upon the staff for sightseeing advice, transportation recommendations and portage of our luggage to the marina on the day we were scheduled to leave. In every case the staff recommendations were thoughtful and relevant. At no time did I feel that I was being taken advantage of or viewed simply as a tourist instead of a guest. Bottom line is that the Hotel Syrene "enhanced" our visit to Capri and we would certainly rebook when we return to the island in the future.

« Dinner Under The Lemon Tree »

We booked last minute at this Hotel and took the ferry from Naples. The location is good and the breakfast terrace is lovely. We picked up a light dinner from the deli/gelato location close by and enjoyed dining under the lemon trees just the two of us! We even had a wonderful server chill the wine and was so attentive! Viviana at the Front Desk was very pleasant and accommodating. Would love to visit again!

    « Great views »

This hotel on the main shopping street in Capri town is just away from the busiest part of the town to be relatively peaceful. Our sea view room exceeded expectations. We had a south facing balcony and never tired of looking out across the bay. The hotel is situated above a row of shops, so there are steps up to the main entrance which is obviously a drawback for anyone with a disability, thankfully not a concern for us and the only possible negative as far as we were concerned. There is a lovely outdoor bar shaded by lemon trees and a good size pool. I would highly recommend this hotel

« An oasis of calm »

This is a lovely hotel situated within a few steps from the main town of Capri, but far enough away for it to be quiet. The rooms are certainly good enough for four star hotel. It was clean and tidy and overlooked the fabulous lemon grove. The pool was pretty cold! Great on the days when it was very hot, but not so good on the cooler days. There were two great things about this hotel - firstly the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. On arrival our bags were already in our room when we arrived - on Capri humans and luggage go separately - and everything we requested, we got. It was about a five minute walk from where you get dropped off from the transfer bus to the hotel. The whole of this area is pedestrianised - but you don't have to carry luggage because that's taken from the port for you. If its not included in your package, the hotel can arrange it for you. And the second is the lemon grove. We went at exactly the right time of year when the lemons were at their best - but its absolutely wonderful to sit under the branches of the trees where its cool to read, have a coffee or lunch from the poolside bar.

« The Only Place We Place on Capri! »

This was our third visit! The views are wonderful, it is relatively conveniently located, the facilities are beautiful, especially the lemon tree garden and pool area, and the staff were extremely helpful in responding to emails, making dinner reservations, and giving directions. Their 12 euro per bag baggage service from Marina Grande (must be pre-arranged once you know what ferry you are coming in on) was a real "life" saver and well worth the money as some in our party had huge baggage!
