« Great Business Traveller destination »

Having stayed at the Best Western on three occasions now, I have always found the rooms to be reasonably priced, well appointed and always very clean & crispy. Staff are very friendly and accommodating - thank you for a great stay.

« Average in every way »

This hotel is close to the eastern (District Six) edge of town and convenient if that's where you need to be for work. That's about all really worthwhile about it. The place, well away from any of the sights and not pleasantly within walking distance of anything except perhaps some of the clubs around Buitenkant Street, is the epitome of mediocrity in every respect, a cheap and mostly cheerful option (with reasonable size pool it was too chilly to use); no lifts, dead average breakfasts; staff, linen and matress nothing special, functional kitchenette, aircon illogically not in warm west facing bedroom where needed but in cooler east facing lounge (unit 187, second floor at the back). Bathroom, complete mediocrity again, but functional and very clean. All in all ok for one night, no pretense of luxury (no idea how some reviewers here can claim it), probably never to be visited again. Good value at around R1000 per night (single B&B).

« Luxury in the sun »

This hotel has huge sized complex rooms, kitchenette, balcony with living area and king sized bed Very friendly staff. Able to organise excursions around cape town from within the complex. I recommend "Wine Flies"Cape winery tour or Cape of good Hope Swimming pool in complex Excellent JC brasserie and bar in complex , value for money and relaxed atmosphere :( Sometimes too relaxed After 3 nights, I booked back in on emergency work situation . I was given a draughtier darker room with maintenance works going on. Personally, a little disappointed with after service Refused to drive me to the airport after 4pm. Disappointed as a return customer

« Always a pleasant stay at the Best Western Hotel »

Great stay at the Best Western Cape Suites. I had a view of table mountain from my balcony.Great value for money and a very central location within the CBD of Cape Town. Ask for the Cape Suite rooms, much bigger than the normal rooms and ask for room with a view, well worth it!

« Home for me in Cape Town »

Quick response to any request and good customer service. The prices for the rooms are very reasonable too. It is a safe place and one can walk to the centre of town very easily. The breakfast is quite nice with reasonable choices. The staff are quite friendly and helpful too. And on my visit this year, I discovered that the hotel has a free shuttle bus to most areas of interest in the town (drop-off and pick-up). I think I will use this more on my subsequent visits.

    « Wonderful Stay »

I got welcomed by Mike at reception. He is absolutely amazing (and funny) and created a warm and comfortable environment. Overall, the staff were good and helpful. Room was clean and a little bit cold in the evenings and the bed super comfortable. The hotel also have Shuttle services available. Just book in advance. :) Thank you for a lovely stay.

« Good hotel, average location »

This hotel should have received an above average review as it offers a free airport shuttle, free WiFi, the staff were incredibly helpful and the suites were large, clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the location. I hadn't been to Cape Town before, so didn't realise that this hotel was a little distance from the main attractions. If walking, the hotel is 1.5km from Long Street/Greenmarket Square and 3.8 km from the V&A. Additionally, as a single white female traveller, I didn't feel particularly safe walking through the neighbourhood where the hotel is located and unfortunately the shuttle service was not available at the times I wanted to go out. Additionally, I stayed on a Friday and Saturday night, and on both nights there was noise from the on-site pub and from large groups booked at the hotel. I'm not sure if this was just unfortunate timing, but it did impact my stay. This is a good hotel but if you wish to walk around town, another hotel might be better.

« Good Hotel and great service »

The room is very clean. All the staffs are very helpful. Breakfast was great. They offer free shuttle bus to the Table Mountain and airport. There's Red Hop on & off stop near by that can takes you to downtown or the most tour sites. I enjoyed the mountain view from my room. Be aware, no elevator in my suite. No problem for me to go up to the 2/fl at all. Would like to stay there again.

« Pleasant Hotel and Friendly Staff »

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable although I was concerned about the security of the old and damaged front door lock that I reported when we arrived but which was not repaired. The restaurants were very good and provided a good range of breakfast, lunch and evening meals. The staff on the front desk were consistently friendly and helpful and the courtesy bus which included airport transfers and any local destinations that we wanted to visit was really useful.

« Stopover to meet Cruise Ship »

Excellent position, very well appointed rooms, terrific facilities and amenities and very nice staff alround. Great location being near the water front and the shopping area and down town. Spectacular views by the way.

    « Back again 21yrs »

Once again lovely stay. Management very helpful and all staff can't do enough for you. The suites were very well equipped and clean but all suites had been refurbished. They know I'm very fussy and would not stay here if it was not clean or comfortable. I'm also disabled. And as always looking forward to coming back in 2019.

    « Best staff »

The hotel is clean and very well situated, nearby the city centre. The staff, especially Mike at the Reception are more than helpful! Cheerful and friendly and ready to help. Hotel has arrangement with taxis for flat rate. Breakfast was correct with choice.

    « Friendly staff »

We have wonderful time in Cape town! Best Western Cape Suites Hotel was friendly, cozy and worth the money. Hotel Stuff deserves a big thanks for everything. Breakfast and shuttle service were good! Hope to see you soon!

    « So disappointed! »

As a couple, we were expected a comfortable room as displayed on trip advisor site. we were in fact booked in a very unfashioned flat with 3 bedrooms. We felt as if it was a cheap holiday rent. We deeply disliked our stay in that hotel.

« nice and comfortable but »

this hotel is nice and comfortable,it has more than a swimming pool and a nice breackfast, but i see that all the common places should be more clean, some places are not so clean. It is nice that not so far from the restorant you can find a beatifull pub where you can drink and eat

« Good location, friendly staff »

Great base to explore the city and surrounding areas. Mario provides transfers to the hotel and evening destinations with a smile. Safwat Oliver was extremely helpful with everything we asked of him. Room was clean and well equipped, not luxurious but had everything we needed. Bar next to the hotel served good food and drinks and reasonable prices and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. One small niggle... the breakfast waiting staff are a little to keen to clear your table! I would recommend this hotel to all types of traveller.

    « Experience »

Amazing service by staff, very helpful. Transfer facility of hotel was very good and there is never NO for anything we required from hotel.Staff from porter to managers all were very polite and helpful to us, overall a good experience and good stay.

« Good but not so happy with the cleaning staff »

We really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Hotel - the location is perfect, the rooms are spacious, the breakfast was great and the reception and kitchen staff were friendly and professional. However, we would have appreciated the cleaning staff taking a bit more pride in their work when cleaning the rooms.

« Quit area, close to everything »

We had a good stay. Very big suite with lots of place for 5 people. Very clean and well equipped. Parking on the site. WiFi included, bit slow but working. Breakfast simple but enough choice. Nice staff in reception and restaurant

    « A huge disappointment »

The description of the hotel location and the brand name it carries will definitely have you booking this hotel. Rooms are big and spacious. Bathroom is okay . Showers are terrible, they have good pressure but too close to the wall. We asked for a room with a view but we got something completely different. Internet is ridiculous. It never works. If you are international traveler who relies on WiFi you will definitely be stressed out.Now to my dissatisfaction bit! The staff. The front desk is okay. The usual PR. But the cleaners have so much attitude. They will knock your door so hard , even if you were dead asleep you will wake up. The best is when we came home from dinner when the lady watchman told us to open the gate for ourselves and one of the Lady chefs was so drunk right infront of the reception. She almost knocked over my wife while she had a drink in her soda bottle. Very unprofessional staff . Never going back for sure. Book somewhere else if you want to enjoy capetown.

« Comfortable suite for family or groups »

My husband and I decided to treat a friend to a weekend in Cape Town and we booked a two bedroom suite. They actually upgraded us to 3 bedrooms, which gave our friend her own ensuite bathroom. We enjoyed very helpful and friendly service. The buffet breakfast was excellent - it cost extra but it was very well done.

    « Catastrophic »

Rooms were old and dirty, staff had a pretty intense attitude that makes you question why they chose to work in the service industry. Besides that, management was careless and didn't respond to complaints or issues. Do not book here, other places (pretty much all places on earth) have way better value for money.

« Noise from the pub and an unsafe area »

During our South African trip we booked this hotel thinking a "branded" hotel would be a satisfactory place to stay. We spent a little more than we usually do expecting that we would have a good experience. How wrong was I... I requested a "quiet room" weeks before and what do the staff do, put us in the noisiest room in the complex. Looking down at the pub, our room (and many many more) had the pleasure of loud crowds and party music all night and all morning. You cannot sleep at all. For the staff to treat us this way I find extremely rude and unprofessional. The bathroom was really old and the shower head was something I have never seen before, you had to stand at the end of the bath in order to get wet. Also, we put the "do not disturb" sign on our door yet the cleaners still entered our room. Location of the hotel is in a bad area, lucky we had access to Uber. To sum up, do not stay here, the place had absolutely nothing going for it.

    « Confortable hotel »

The room need to be renewed, and the breakfast should have a better coffee and breads. The room was cleaned just 1 day (we stayed 4 days at the hotel) and the shower didn´t have any protection. But the staff was very kind and helpfull.

    « Perfect »

Best hotel in cape town, definitely going back. Wifi is an issue but not a major concern. Its very central and close to everything. Service from employees was on point and security was good. Parking was also decent and cleanliness was very neat

« Huge suite for a family of 7. Affordable rates. Excellent food and SERVICE! »

The ala-carte menu of the Village Restaurant is excellent. From the taste to the presentation to the service. If you are in a group you might have to wait a little bit longer than usual but it's all worth it. This property is very lucky to have professional people around. Everybody knows the meaning of service and how to delight their guests.

    « Awesomeness »

We had an awesome stay at this hotel. The staff and service was friendly always willing to help. They made us feel so comfortable, it was our home away from home. I really loved the rooms and and the location of the hotel was perfect. We had nice views of the mountain.

    « BW Cape Suites »

Spacious room made my work stay perfect! Would definitely use B W Cape Suites again. Just wish I had more time in the Mother City. Front of House and restaurant staff were also very friendly and helpful.

« Comfortable, friendly staff central location »

The rooms were very comfortable and the staff very friendly and accommodating. The decor is a little tired, but clean and perfectly functional. Mario, the shuttle driver was brilliant, and the food was delicious. Was impressed to see the attention to alerting guests to the water crisis.

« Home away from home.. My hotel in cape »

The staff very amazing. I would do injustice if I did not point that out. Mr Henry, Mario, shafwat were great. Went out of way for every need. The shuttle service and great. The breakfast was huge. Everything was value for the rate you pay

« Poor ,would not recommend »

Stayed here for 3 nights over a weekend . I guess we were very unlucky, our room was over the staff room and right next to bar/restaurant (room140) . It was way too noisy from staff room talking and slamming door from the wind . The bar /restaurant people's and guest were singing up to 01.00 am then to our luck stayed above us making noise up to 02.00am . We spoke to the reception staff in the morning asking is it like this every night ? To there answer was no . Boy was they wrong . On the second night we asked 3 members of staff to sort the staff room door as it kept banging to no avail and ended up speaking to reception again . Maintenance came later but did not sort the problem out . As from the bar/restaurant still as noisy and at 23.00pm a staff car came parking right under our window and blasting its music out loud for a good 30 minutes . NOT GOOD . In the morning we sat down and spoke to who we suppose was the duty manager and explained our problem . The duty manager apologised and said he would look into it and may change our room and said he would come back to us . NEVER DID . I guess the noise and door went quiet by 21.00pm and back to noise when staff shift started , the bar/restaurant was quiet at last . My point is do not stay in this room and should not be let , the bar I am aware is not part of the hotel but I strongly suggest they should respect people that are staying over night especially staff members . Our room overall was OK but dated . Breakfast was OK but nothing special . No compensation was offered or some sort of voucher and we were not offered to move room as we thought the duty manager or manager would come back to us . We are very disappointed by the lack of customer service in all level .

« Nice place, but could have been better »

The hotel is nice, however already a bit old fashioned. The suite (3-bedroom) was equipped with all needed facilities. Air-condition was available only in the common area of the suite, not in the bedrooms. Clean and cozy, however showing the usage and time passed. Free airport transfer available, possible also to arrange transport to the selected places in the city. Staff very friendly and always ready to help. Brasserie available within the hotel at reasonable rates.

    « Excellent stay »

Service was great. The breakfast was delicious and it's buffet style and they have many foods to choose from. Staff was super friendly , definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again if ever back in Cape Town.

    « Poor Service »

Air conditioning was not working in our room. We called reception and were told someone would come and help us. No body came, We also ordered from the room service menu. some of the items were not available yet listed. the gentlemen who was tasked to show us our room -just pointed to the room and we had to battle with the key

« Stay in Cape Town »

The hotel and room were very good. Nice, clean and extremely spacious. The additional access to the pub was a bonus. The only thing we found to be a minor drawback was the distance to the Waterfront. However, the Uber taxi's were extremely cheap so getting around wasn't a problem. Overall very satisfied with our stay.

    « Enough space »

Reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was great and spacious. The bathroom blew me away with its sparking whiteness. The restaurant was real value for money. Overall was a good experience and will definitely go back again.

« Expected more of BW »

I was pleased with the location and friendliness of the staff, but the property is in need of updating and renovations. My king bed was two twin beds pushed together and the box spring on my side was broken so I slept in a ditch. I tried to swap it with a box spring from a different bed in the hotel room, but it was a different size and wouldn't be even with my wife's side of the bed. Breakfast was great! Only other complaint was that I helped myself to a cup of coffee after breakfast hours as everything there was still available. I was then approached by kitchen staff and told I needed to pay R14. There was no signs, and no staff around to tell me this before hand so I took it to the front desk where they confirmed. Hotel staff did not charge me for the coffee. It's probably a good idea to post something about a charge after certain hours in that situation.

    « Very good overall »

We stayed at the Cape Suites during the first week of october. The staff are pleasant and eager to assist us in any way they could. The room was slightly dated but had everything we needed. The room safe was of decent quality and well secured in the bedroom. The beds were comfortable but nothing special. The breakfast was pretty good and consisted of English breakfast, omlette/egg station, mixed breads and muffins and cereals. There was plenty of fruit, juices and hot drinks available and all seemed good quality. We used and abused the hotel shuttle bus. If you pre book they will take you to quote a few different drop off points around the city which was nice. We also felt secure as there were security guards at the main entrance. Overall We feel this was a good choice for a budget hotel. Please note that the walk to the waterfront is a good 30/45 mins and we did not feel safe walking down a few of the roads enroute.

« Good first night stopover »

Confusion over airport pick up: no confirmation despite emailing three times in advance and then could not find shuttle bus location at airport. All subsequent use of the shuttle was excellent though. We waited well over an hour for our room after two long flights. However, we were compensated with a complimentary meal. Excellent breakfast and staff were extremely helpful. Would definitely stay again. Ps. What brand are the pillows?? They were the best!

    « Weekend stay »

I was very pleased with my 2 nights st the hotel. The staff was very helpful and the shuttle to and from airport was perfect. The fresh fruits at the breakfast buffé, in particular the passionfruit, was delicious.

« Away in the city »

Staff was great and welcoming. Staff helpful. Friendly and willing to assist guests. safe area. Tania is aaaaamazing - great customer care. Room was very spacious and clean. great. Quiet and warm and cosy

    « Holiday trip »

Great place to be, warm welcome. Staff very helpful & friendly. Shuttle service was super all the way from the airport to hotel and free shuttle service around town. It was all worthy! Great memories,

« The name says it all, Best place to be »

The staff was all smiles, professional and very efficient. The complimentary shuttle tops it all, made our stay a wonderful experience with no need to worry about trAnsport to the Cape attractions. Bye

    « Excellent Customer Service »

Front desk service was excellent. I had a short stopover in Cape Town and was so pleased with the service received from Mike and Mario. I had no troubles at all getting to the services I needed and all of the staff were friendly and professional.

« Great time of my life, wonderful treatment, wonderful experience, great location »

all the Best Western Cape Suites staff, especially yourself, Mike, Mario and Safmat(hope I got it right) We had a very wonderful time in Cape Town, it was my 1st time and wow we were treated like Royalty from start to finish of our trip The friendly staff all smiles throughout, very professional in every aspect, reliable and informative, and advising us in many things, very welcoming Thank you very much, we will definitely comeback with the kids, and we'll recommend you to our friends and families

    « 10/10 »

Great hotel. Lovely clean and uniquely decorated rooms. Breakfast very good for families. Free airport tranfer when booking made our holiday stay great. Also 15 minutes from waterfront and table mountain. Will return in future.

« Excellent service very helpfull stuff »

Every stuffmember was friendly and extreamly helpfull..breakfast is really stunning!! A very nice experience..and comes with save and free parking, great!very nice and clean rooms, walking distance to town is a big bonus.

« Great location, wonderful staff! »

Although the rooms are a bit dated and somewhat small, the location cannot be beat. It's only a 10-minute walk into downtown, and the hotel's shuttle service takes you to the V&A Waterfront in just a few minutes. Other shuttle services are also available: Table Mountain Aerial Tram, CPT Airport, and Lion's Head. The breakfast selection is extensive and the adjoining bar and pub offers an array of inexpensive dishes if the hotel's own restaurant doesn't suit you. But by far the best asset of this hotel is its staff: courteous, attentive, responsive, friendly, helpful. Definitely a fantastic place to stay when vacationing in Cape Town

    « Best Western Hotels - Comfortable & Clean »

I only stayed for one night, was greeted by friendly staff who were helpful when it came to arranging a taxi to the airport and waking me up on time as I had an early flight. The room was clean and had everything I needed to make my stay comfortable. In my opinion this is excelllent value for your money, on top of having the benefit of dealing with an establishment that has systems in place to make checking in happen quickly and hassle free

« Good for a weekend in the city »

This property in the heart of the old District Six is well worth remembering for your next weekend in Cape Town. We stayed their on a Saturday evening to attend a 50th birthday party in the city. It was convenient, central and the rooms were large enough for the two of us. I would say that the bathroom is a little on the bare side, but then this is not a prime type of hotel and it is good value for money. We did find the passages a little noisy when you have inconsiderate guests coming back late at night and making a lot of noise, but it was not such that I felt like complaining. The breakfast was good and again it is all about value for money in this basic type of property. We enjoyed our one night there and will certainly keep it in mind for the next trip to Cape Town.

    « Don't book here »

Room type booked not received Booked one bedroom Received studio The room was filthy!!!! Towels and bath not clean. Living room covered in dust. But the smell of old fat was the worst!!! Then the noise from other guests unti 4 in morning. Don't book here and waste your money. This is not even one star!!!

« Exceptional and highly recommended »

An excellent hotel to stay if you happen to be visiting cape town. We stayed at this place for 4 nights and we highly recommend it to others. The rooms were very clean, the breakfast buffet was great, excellent service from all the staff members. The shuttle complimentary service was great. We have traveled to a few places in the world, the service at this hotel was exceptional. We are so grateful for making our stay in cape pleasant and memorable. Sonia and Terry from Australia.

« Beautiful establishment with poor service »

I called the reception and borrowed an iron, waited for an hour and called again. Waited for another half an hour to which point I wore shrinked clothes. That shows that the establishment has no regard

« Great Stay At the Best Western Cape Suites »

Very pleasant and comfortable stay at the Beast Western Cape Suites. It is central to most attractions in Cape Town, the breakfast is complimentary and delicious and the staff are very helpful. Very good value for money will definitely be back.

    « Value for money »

The property a bit dated but spotlessly clean and tidy. The reception staff were helpful and polite at all times. This property is suitably located for travel with in Cape Town and is excellent value for money

« Best Western in Zonnebloem »

The Best Western Cape Suites is a good hotel in a central area with a lovely breakfast included. Close to tourist attractions. The complementary shuttle service was helpful and convenient. Tip: This area gets very windy.

« Best western cape suites. »

Overall a super experience. The place has an old world charm to it with the grand table top mountain sneaking in the background. The rooms are clean and spacious. Location is excellent. They have a shuttle service which makes it very convenient to reach the hotel and the city center. Hospitality is amazing and they go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Special thanx to Trevor and Mario for making our experience remarkable. Thank you Best Western. You'll see me again!

    « Lovely stay »

From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. Not even the Cape winter could dampen the experience. Wonderful staff who bent over backwards to accommodate us. Our room had a view of Table Mountain covered under a blanket of clouds, while inside we were curled up snugly.

    « Great Experience »

We had a group of 13 people in 5 different rooms The staff was extremely courteous and helpful to all our needs. The location is absolutely spectacular located at the foot of Table Mountain Awesome view every morning The breakfast was very good Our rooms were clean and secure Highly recommend facilities

    « Have issues. »

The heating was not working in the middle of winter so the room was freezing. A window was broken and no one came to fix it after we told them. Upgrade the shower and bathroom. Change the breakfast. We had to wait hours to get toilet paper and towels the next day.

    « A very pleasant stay »

It's my first time staying here, my two friends and I loved it. The room is very clean and staff are very nice and helpful. We hired a car for our trip so it's ideal that they have free parking. The free shuttle service was wonderful - it takes you to / pick you up from basically anywhere in city center (we used it once so three of us could grab a drink in V&A Waterfront without having to worry about the car). Breakfast is the same every day but with a lot of variety which is good enough to kick start a day. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a place to stay in Cape Town.

« nice place to stay with family »

Best part of the hotel is it s location near the table mountain and free shuttle to airport and city centre. But do not forget to make bookings in advance. The property as such has all the amenities, but the construction is very old. Most of the door locks of our suite, including those of bathrooms, did not function. Also, it does not have lift, so those with knee problems be careful, incase if you are allowed room on second floor.

    « Perfectly situated »

Perfectly placed for my trip to the German consulate, very friendly staff and felt very welcome and at home. Airport and Waterfront shuttle is amazing and i will definelty return! Beautiful apartment with fully equipt kitchen and fridge. Perfect relaxed place to stay and enjoy Cape Town!

    « A winter with storms »

I spent one night in Best Western suites in Cape Town and it was excellent, clean, friendly and I felt that I was in a safe place. I was very pleased with the arrangement of flat. It was like a pretty little house that iI would like to own.Thank you

    « Wow experience »

The staff have a warm reception and they are forever customer centric. All I can say is for them to keep up the good work and maintain to exceed customer expectation. We really enjoyed our breakfast and were always looking forward to have it the next day.

« Friendly and warm Best Western Suites staff »

My first stay at the hotel and i found my Cape Town home. The suite was very neat and clean. Loved the breakfast and the staff was friendly and helpful. Also a peaceful surounding. Enjoyed my stay. Can not wait to return.

« Very nice hotel and friendly staff »

The hotel rooms here are very clean and nice and the staff is pleasant and always ready to assist us.The meals I had at this hotel were well-prepared. I really enjoyed my stay here. The only negative thing about this hotel is that the wifi poor.

    « pleasant stay »

even tho it was 1 day i had enjoyed the stay and were treated very well. one day i would return for another stay. my partner and i were pleased with the room and it was comfortable as we hoped it would be. thanks for the experience.

    « Location & Rooms »

The Location is very good is almost center of the city. Rooms are quite good and the rate is reasonable. i enjoyed my stay in best western cape. rooms are clean, its good place for family trips. breakfast is ok-ok

« Do not stay here. »

We arrived, room was not ready (at 2 p.m.), WiFi was not working. Staff not helpful. It was promised they fix the WiFi problem (necessary for business travel) within 3 hours. After we returned, WiFi still not fixed. At 7 p.m. I was asking again, they said "we will call the service and get back to you in the next 20 minutes". After 45 minutes still no answer, I went back to the reception and asked for a new room. They agreed after some discussions. Also my colleague had problems with his room, also no support. Sorry, this is not professional, not helpful, not what I expect for this price. Will never stay there again.

« Best Western in Cape Town »

The front end staff at the Best Western were very nice, friendly and professional. When I first arrived, they had my name, and room number. They walked me to my room and offered to help carry my suitcase. They had water there for me when I was thirsty. They had brochures and suggestions of things to do for fun and education. Two of the staff I can remember were Mike and William. They were both nice. Every morning my hotel room was cleaned. The swimming pool was a nice amenity. They provided an adapter so I can charge my phone. The bar had great food and a pleasant staff. There were some cons with the hotel I have to list. First, the phone wasn't working properly, so I couldn't make any international phone calls. Second the WiFi went out, which was an issue unrelated to the staff. Third I didn't like the way they cook bacon. That stuff was straight disrespectful. The bacon was soggy as heck. Like, it just got out the water or something. The shower was badly designed and the floor often got wet.But besides that everyone was extremely nice and professional except for this one girl who worked in the back in the kitchen. She had an attitude problem. She's lucky I don't remember her name.

« Freindly staff at Best Western Cape Suites Hotel, Cape Town »

Excellent friendly staff, good food, generous room. I enjoyed my stay, and recommend Best Western Cape Suites Hotel, Cape Town to business or private travellers looking for good honest value and friendly service

What an awesome place to rest your head.If it's peace and tranquility you need then make Best Western your next staff are kind and professional. Situated in the CBD and close to the famous V&A Waterfront , Signal Hill and Table Mountain. The on premises restaurant makes for fine dining and an awesome friendly atmosphere. On site parking with security gives you that extra sense of safety and protection.

    « Disappointed »

My expectations of this hotel was met with a lot of disappointment, given the name and associated good qualities ascribed to it in the past. While en-route being shown my room, i got smeared by the thick dust on the concrete railing, indicating these have not been cleaned recently, and had to climb and negotiate a labyrinth of concrete stairs, no elevators. Further, the entrance to my room overlooked a scary view of 2 or 3 people who I perceived as homeless people sitting idly and staring ominuosly at us (as though they were waiting to strike later when it gets dark) from the other, raised, side of the hotel fence, as the hotel reception accompanying staff tried to open the door to my experience here can only be summed up as bad and disappointing. On the positive side, the self-catering utensils were plentiful, and I found that useful for my one-night stay...

this was a very good stay in a very relaxed environment. all amenities were neat and tidy. staff very obliging and did everything in their power to assist us we were also accommodated in terms of travelling to the market and V & A Waterfront and drivers were very accommodating and obliging

nice and freindly staff, especially Mike, Shanin, William and Mario. very helpful very poor wifi signal in some parts of the hotel though breakfast was fine, found something every day. Thank you for the nice stay.!!

    « They won't give me a refund for the nights I didn't stay »

I initially booked to stay 4 nights, but had to check out after 2 nights. When I checked in, I told them that I may need to check out early. They said I will get a refund if I need to check out before then (the full amount needs to be paid upfront). It's been a week and I still haven't received my refund.

« Excellent stay in Cape Town »

Best Western Cape Suites hotel is ideally located. It is easily accessible. The suites is very comfortable and well-maintained. Some suites have a balcony, which is great if you want to enjoy a bit of sunshine from the room. Breakfast was good with a very nice spread.

    « Rather Avoid »

The hotel is neat and tidy and the rooms are clean. Whist the service is adequate, and the front desk staff were attentive, the rest is a bit of a let down. I spend 3 nights here, and each one had it's problems. The first night was very noisy, although it was all wind noise, this could of course be prevented with doors and windows which shut properly and didn't bang/rattle in the wind. The sliding door of my balcony also didn't lock, at all, so security is not great. The aging fittings in the bathroom also required attention, just to get them to work as designed. I had to re-tighten the shower head, but the wall bracket was so badly mounted, that the shower would spray anywhere but where i was standing. A shower over a bath is a clumbsy arrangement at the best of times, but when it insists on wetting the entire bathroom, and not the bath, it's a very unpleasant way to wash. My second night i arrived back very late after a long day of work, and found the hard way, that my used towels had been removed and not replaced. Stepping out of a shower (after wrestling with it) at 01h00 in the morning to find no towels is rather disappointing. The third night/morning wasn't much better. Breakfast was the same monotonous affair, although this time there were no staff to be found, so I had to wander into the kitchen to get some milk which had been finished at the tea/coffee station. The TV system is budget at best. The cheap TV could only pick up 4 or 5 channels, of which only 2 we watchable through the snow of the old analogue distribution system. Volume setting was useless, either silent, or too loud. The wifi however, was surprisingly fast, by any standard. Even if you're traveling on a tight budget, you'll get better value elsewhere. I was extremely glad my work finished early enough for me to catch a flight home, rather than have to spend another night here.

excellent hotel, staff very helpful and friendly, room clean ,very handy shuttle service and driver gave a running commentary of all the places if interest.close to city attractions but in a quiet location.

    « Great stay »

The suite staff from reception, chef, restaurant waiters and the gate were all so very helpful and often times (in my short stay) went out of their way to make my stay so comfortable. You have excellent stuff thank you so much.

    « Good hotel »

We had a two bedroom efficiency suite for the two of us. It was clean and comfortable although the TV was in the kitchen and we watched from the kitchen table. Price was good and we saved money with great breakfast and use of the kitchen. The attached JC Chilling bar and restaurant was a nice, safe, convenient asset.

    « Fantastic stay »

We started our 3 week trip across South Africa at the Best Western Cape Suites and we are so happy we did. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, and has a pub with a great atmosphere and food right next door. We needed to pick up our rental car the day after we arrived and the staff organized the free shuttle to take us back to the airport without any problem. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is also a delicious breakfast each morning. We would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Cape Town.

« Not The Best Western Suites »

IIt all started Upon Arrival at 17:00, The seem to be a mix up with the booking for me, the receptionist said they were expecting me the day after, waited about 30 minutes to resolve this issue, and we were a party of 10 people all booked for the same period, the rest of my colleagues got their rooms. I requested on check and only recieved it later that evening after going back to reception to enquire, the iron that was sent was leaking water, but I used it, even though it was a health hazard, I had to iron my clothes. Day 2 upon my return to the room I found the door open, i reported this to reception, this was concerning for me, however everything was in order and there was a brand new iron left in my room, which I apprciated. Day 3 when I returned that evening found the door open again decided that i will take all my valuables with me everyday, major security concern, after checking all in order, except there was only one towel for use and no soaps, I enquired at reception and the guy assured me that they will send fresh towels and toiletries nothing arrived. Day 4 enquired at reception where's the towels receptionist said they having a problem with towels but he will sort out when I return. On my return door again found open, but all in order, went into the bathroom to check for towels all replaced, but now the shower curtain was gone. reported to reception, but nothing was done, showered without it on Day 5, Day 5 returned to the room, which was again left open by the cleaning staff, checked again all in order. The only good thing about this place was the simple breakfast that we got every morning. The JC bar onsite was also a place one could unwind, and the food was good. Room has very limited sports channels.

« Make sure you get what you pay for!!!!!!!! »

Upon arriving at about 13h25, I was "informed" that check in time was only from 14h00. After I showed the receptionist my booking on my phone app which did not mention any "check in" time, I was inform that our room was now ready. The "room" being a "one bedroom" and not a two bedroom as booked, did not have the "mountain view" I requested, instead looked out over the hotel's garbage bin stage area. DISGUSTING!!!!!

« Good Value But Poor Location »

First off, make sure you're looking at the HOTEL part of the BW, not the suites - that's a different experience entirely. BWCSH suffers by being in an area which has pretty much nothing nearby so, if you want anything, you're going somewhere by taxi. Not a problem, as reception will happily drop you off and pick you up with one of their own vehicles or a local taxi service. There's a sign in reception saying that the latter will be at the guest's expense but all my trips were on the house. Note that reception even picked me up from my office to ferry me to the airport at the end of Friday even though I'd checked out that morning. Now that's what I call first-class service, but not exceptional for the CSH staff - nothing is too much effort - must be a Cape Town thing. Anyway, I can't speak for the amenities other than to say that the pool looked cosy and comfortable and that if the quality of the breakfast - a good selection of tasty comestibles - is anything to go by, then the dinner should be highly satisfactory (sadly, dinner wasn't available during my stay so I used the on-site pub/brasserie - very good, see my review of JC Brasserie & Pub elsewhere). The room was, to be honest, merely adequate - even the in-room kitchen was a little disappointing, the one pan available being insufficient to the task of cooking an antelope or something. However, I slept well and found it all pretty comfortable. The bathroom looked like it had been tiled by a child but everything worked. Replenishment of the tea and coffee were a little haphazard but breakfast is available in the mornings (if a little late at times) and you'll be out in the evenings, so no big deal. As a place to stay, it was sufficient, if a little in need of refurbishment. As the rooms open directly onto the outside, noise levels could be high but seemed to stop dead at around 11:00 p.m. Also, wildlife finds it easier to get into your room if it doesn't have to negotiate corridors and lifts; however, I had to wait the entire week before I had a visitor in the form of a single roach, less than inch long. I named him George. All in all, CSH represented pretty good value for money. It's worth pointing out that I walked into the office in CT central and back again each day, passing groups of the politest school children I have ever known and pausing at what I reckon must be the best secret view of the mountains anywhere in the Western Cape. If my employer sends me back to CT, this is where I'll be staying. Edit: my company uses a booking agency and, because payment is made on the credit card supplied at the time of booking rather than at reception, and the name on the booking was that of the agency, BWCSH said they were not able to supply me with a copy of the invoice and that it had to be sent to the agency. Never mind that it was my credit card that was used. It delayed my expenses claim but was irritating and unexpected, that's all.

« Great location and value »

The location of the hotel is spot on , the cost is reasonable and the size of the suites is very good . The room I had came fully fitted with everything you would need to make your stay pleasant , the fridge , microwave all worked fine . The staff are friendly and checking in and out was easy and pleasant and hassle free . The breakfast is convenient and has everything that you would require and the staff serving are helpful and friendly as well . On the downside , the hotel is used by a lot of tour groups , school children included from what I see so there is noise but that subsides around 10pm from my experience . I would have preferred a separate shower cubicle but the shower over the bath was fine for a couple of nights and works just as well . There does seem to be a lack of maintenance in the hotel , i did experience a problem with the lock to my room which needed fixing at 9pm but then again quick friendly service got it sorted , more of an inconvenience than a major issue . The auto switch off on the kettle was broken another little annoyance , so to was the tuning on the TV causing ghosting on the channels not a major issue seeing as I was not there to watch TV all day but would have been nice to be able to watch more than one channel without getting a headache . Al round a very pleasant hotel experience and somewhere I would look to stay again when next in Cape Town

« Noisy hotel, shuttle not there to collect at airport »

The shuttle was not there to collect me from the airport on arrival despite written confirmation of date and flight time with Thelma Mawile on 16 September 2016. The hotel is VERY NOISY day and night. The room was old, drab and tired. There was a problem with the laundry service, and towels were only made available after 6pm when I had already left to attend my function. The bed was old and uncomfortable. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly.

« a comfortable lodging in Cape Town »

The rooms are comfortable. Breakfast buffet is outstanding. Front office staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Shuttle service to/from the airport is very helpful. When the shuttle is not available, the front desk can assist with taxi service. The parking is secure. Access is via a manned gate with two persons to identify guests. The maids are careful. Laundry service is good.

    « A fantastic experience »

Great staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Location near all interesting sites. Terrific breakfast. Reasonable price. Staff willing to go out of their way to be helpful. Couldn't have asked for a more satisfyingly experience.

« Wonderful weekend at the Best Western Cape Suites Hotel. »

Very helpful and hospitable staff! My room was extremely spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The location was good with a very busy bar/restaurant on site with extremely friendly staff. The calamari was the best I have had in a long time. I will definitely come back and stay here next time I am in Cape Town! M. Jullienne.

    « Crappola with a capital C »

I'm generally very fair with my reviews. But I hate being stooged. This place was a hovel. NOTHING like the web photos for a 'suite' Suite? Now maybe I'm naive but a suite generally has an air of respectability about it. If this was a suite I'm Marilyn Monroe. Check in was a farce. There were 3 of us and usually the credit card holder is required to show a passport, as it happened in every other hotel during our 6 week tour. This one demanded all the guests passports and reception was a bit snappy that I didn't have them on me. The person who ' showed us to our room' gave us a key and told us to climb 2 flights of stairs, no help to come with us and show us, perhaps he was worried about what we would think of the 'suite'. When I said we had very large suitcases due to traveling for a long time and was there a room on a lower level he just shrugged his shoulders. The key did not work in the door. I went back to reception and said the key did not work, and asked if they had a room on a lower level. She seemed confused then told me they were fully booked. That turned out to be a blatant lie. Once we got a working key I was shocked upon entering the 'suite' which was a pokey little hole at the top of the building with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom the size of a toilet cubicle where you had to actually squeeze past the toilet to get into the shower and a 'kitchenette' which was grotty. As I had pre paid we were stuck. The walls were filthy, see photos. We were very tired after a long drive and made our escape as early as we could the next morning. Best Western should hang their heads in shame for this pit of misery

    « Good enough »

This is basically a solid example of 'you get what you pay for.' It is a nice enough hotel for the low rate. It is a bit noisy, thin walls and the structure of the building seems to amplify outside sounds. The front door would rattle constantly unless I wedged something in it. Beyond that, the staff was nice enough, the breakfast nice enough. If you are looking for something acceptable for a low rate, this is you spot!

« Best weekend at the Best Western Cape Suites Hotel »

The staff was very hospitable and welcoming. We found the rooms very spacious and the beds very comfortable and linen nice and warm. We had the best view of the majestic Table mountain. Within a reasonable distance to the beach and V & A Waterfront.

    « great location »

This hotel offers self catering units. small but have everything needed. Close to town. Breakfast are great. Also have a bar restaurant which has a great vibe. Would definitely stay there again as it is good value.

    « August trip »

Excellent customer service. On-time pickup and drop-off at the airport. Really appreciated the free rides to Table Mountain, downtown and various other places. Great location. Super excellent staff waiting there to help you at all times. Thanks.

« Convenient, clean and good value »

We stayed in a one bedroom suite, ie with a kitchen and sitting room, for three nights. The room was basically furnished, very clean, quiet and comfortable, which served our purpose well as a base to explore Cape Town and what it had to offer, as we weren't spending much time in the room. Free parking in a secure lot, close to the room. The breakfast each morning was great, with the usual range of cereals, breads, pastries and most importantly, cooked to order eggs! Downsides were that the hot water in the shower tended to run cool after a few minutes and we had to wait a while for it to reheat before the other showered and the toilet flush was on the noisy side. Internet in the room was frustrating with their voucher system and its multi-step login process each time we connected. For some reason I could connect with the laptop in the room, but not with my phone, although the phone connected easily in the reception/breakfast room area. The one voucher was adequate for our three day stay. The hotel restaurant was closed for dinner whilst we were there, but the adjacent pub served great meals at a good price, so that was not an issue. They had a shuttle bus that you could use to get downtown, the airport, Waterfront etc, but you had to pre-book. Overall a good economical place to stay if you are not looking for anything flashy. We would stay again.

    « Excellent Hotel »

Hotel location is excellent as it is situated at the heart of cape town, and close to my workplace. Very cooperative staff, and very clean and roomy with a nice view of table mountain. I would like to mention the name of Oliver, Henry, Mike and all other staff in the reception and restaurant who had made my stay truly memorable. Thanks for the wonderful experience will definite visit again.

« Great Value for money! »

We went to Cape town on a family trip in Oct'13 and this place was great! We opted for an apartment with 3 rooms and kitchen and the place was spot on. The pictures they show describe the place perfectly. Good location and friendly staff. And a shuttle to the waterfront - though we rented a car there too. Great value for money - will def go back!

    « Good value! »

This is good value for money, the units are nice and clean , breakfast is really good even a free shuttle to the Waterfront. ,my only complaint is the noise, from early morning there are doors slamming and people talking, and furniture being moved, so if you are looking for something peaceful this is not the place.

    « fantastic stay »

Staff were excellent. Mike and Henry at reception went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Great breakfast. Very spacious apartments. Fantastic customer service. Great location.

« Amazing value in an expensive city »

I stay here every time I come to Cape Town. The location is easy to get to from the airport or the waterfront. These are spartan and could use an update, but they are also true suites, complete with kitchens. Free (ans substantial) breakfast included in the rate. There is a self-service laundry if you are interested in saving more money. The hotel could improve its wi-fi strength and also its ridiculous voucher system (internet is free, but you need to keep getting vouchers every time you run out of data). Also, just one a.c./heater, and in the living room. So if you choose any of the one or two bedroom units the bedrooms do not share the air conditioning of the living room. But otherwise an exceptional value.

« Fabulous value for the money »

First, this is not a luxury hotel by any stretch. Is is spartan, but clean and offers tons of so much value for the money. You get a suite (inclusive of a kitchen) for the price of a value hotel room. The hotel also offers a free (and substantive) breakfast and laundry service (both full and self) for a bargain. The hotel is very easy to get to from the airport and waterfront, though it feels a bit out of the way. Staff was very helpful. Two complaints: I stayed in a 1 bedroom. There was just one a.c./heater unit and it was at one end of the suite and the bedroom was at the other. So the bedroom stayed cold (it was winter) even with the heater on full blast. They helpfully provide warm blankets so I was not cold sleeping, I just didn't spend any extra time in the bedroom. The other complaint is about internet. The wifi is weak, which means I could only get it near the window. The other irritant is the hotel's voucher system. Internet is free, but you need vouchers (with passwords) that need to be replenished whenever you use up data. inexplicable! All that said, this is an amazing value in an expensive city.

« Hotel not as expected. »

The Best Western Cape suites hotel is rather dissapointing. I stayed here for a few days during the 2016 Cape Cycle Tour. The gentleman at reception was rather untrained and unprofessional. He kept snorting as if he had some sort of sinus problem. I asked him about it to see if it was unavoidable - seemed to be a bad habit of his. After some time we were escorted to our room - again rather unprofessionally. The room we recieved was not what we booked. I booked a studio suite, specifically as the description states this is an en-suite - the room recieved was a corner 'leftover' room. 2 bedrooms, bathroom behind the kitchen (far from en-suite) with a noisy dripping (from overflow) geyser and non functional aircon. Apart from non functional the aircon is not in the main bedroom. In front of the geyser cupboard was the TV, with no place to sit and watch. It seemed to me as if this was a 'made up' with no real planning to add additional rooms to the hotel. Nothing could be done to help with any of the issues above. No other rooms were available - I booked mine weeks in advance.. No one available to check aircon. No couch or decent seating available for watching TV, and no extension or any option for moving the TV to the bedroom (considering the inadequate seating arrangements). As far as the geyser drip / noise goes, i gave up asking - as there seemed absolutely no option of solutions to anything. The beds in both rooms were single beds, I was told arrangements were being made for a double mattress - instead the beds were pushed together. Breakfast was ok. Not disappointing but nothing too wow about. Gate staff (entry and exit) were friendly. Linen, pillows and bed were of expected quality. Albeit - the room I had had nothing of the furniture (headboards / pedestals etc) like the website pics show for any of the suites. The vagrants living on the opposite side of the fence who starred scarringly and bothered us were a little off putting at times. I sometimes wonder if space was out and I was just thrown into a room that was used for other purposes. I will not stay here again, and would not recommend anyone doing so.

    « Breakaway »

Friendly staff, food counted cant have or ask for extra piece and not a variety to choose from so it makes dietary requirements difficult to control, overall homely and pleasant environment. love the mountain view.

    « Home »

I've travelled to this hotel with business a few times. Its located not far from activities and VA. You're not in the noisemakers of CBD and close to a beautiful view of mountain. Now, I've visited again with my wife and I will always come back. Fantastic staff, fantastic service and's like being at home

« Worst Experience in my life (not even kidding) »

Stayed here from July 2015 until the end of December 2015. Firstly, the rooms are not just dirty, they actually make you feel as if you're in an actual fear factor episode. Cockroaches in every single apartment I stayed in (stayed in quite a few, but more about that later). These cockroaches keep coming back, when reported to reception the first time they did spray some anti-roach stuff which helped for about 3 days. As mentioned I was moved quite a few times due to the fact that all the apartments had to stay occupied at all times (it was a student sharing arrangement type thing), so I'll just go through the complaints in a chronological order. First apartment I stayed in was pretty okay (besides the cockroaches) but very dark and the extreme opposite of cosy. Stayed here for about 4 weeks Second apartment: Stayed here for 3 weeks, Nice view, top floor so not really that many cockroaches, but this apartment was rather small and rooms were allocated in a strange way. Third apartment: Best apartment of all, still a lot of roaches, but together with my roommates we started a weekly full fumigation habit which kept it to a minimum. We did actually have a break-in during the period in this apartment. One of the other guests of the establishment broke into our apartment and walked into my bedroom while I was sleeping. Luckily, I woke up and the burglar left as soon as he saw I was awake (in the end all he stole was a few hundred rands and some other small things). Luckily the management of the hotel did take this seriously, and evicted him the day after. A few weeks after that, me and my suite mates were told we had to leave the apartment within a day, for reasons still unknown. And I was moved to apartment number 4. Apartment 4 was the worst of all. I had to go to reception about 3 times because they hadn't cleaned the room I was supposed to stay in. After their 'cleaning', I moved all my luggage, only to find out that the entire apartment was infested with cockroaches (around 1 cockroach per square metre). I moved on a friday evening, and after finding all the cockroaches I went to the reception to ask them to move me. The exact reply from the receptionist was: "sorry we can't do anything about this now, we can have someone come over on Monday to fumigate the apartment.". Besides that, she told me that the cockroaches only came to the hotel when Dutch student arrived. Obviously, I didn't agree to her 'solution', and I decided to videotape the apartment, and threaten management and Best Western on their facebook page to publish the videos online. After crashing at a friends' place for that friday night, saturday night and sunday night, management decided to place me back into apartment 3. Throughout this entire process, the general manager did not respond to ANY of my emails, and when asking for her 4 times at reception I was told she was too busy to talk to me. In short: If you want to suffer from cockroaches, horrible service and break-ins, definitely go here!

    « Love this hotel »

Been staying at this hotel for 19years now come back every year love this hotel and the service is 5* nothing is to much trouble, We changed are room this year only because of my Disability with the help from our lovely porter William be lost with out the help from what he does for us and other staff too.

« Disappointed that we didn't have requested shuttle bus collect us from airport »

Room was good, bath towels were soft and fluffy, room cleaned daily and complimentary tea and coffee replenished. Lovely view of table mountain from door. Breakfast was good but cold, and had to ask for cups, glasses etc. Staff friendly and shuttle bus was good as too far to walk to Waterfront and Capetown centre. Would try to stay more central next time

« Disappointed place for stay »

Unfortunately I`m very disappointed of that hotel. After long trip to Cape Town I had to wait almost 1 hr in reception because man couldn`t find my reservation. When found at once, told me that my booking is cancelled and he doesn`t know why. However he can give me another room. I agreed of course and got room, where on table has been... welcome letter on my name!! In meantime reception man called security guy who should show me where my room is. Unfortunately he didn`t know where it is and we walked from block to block with luggage in hand. Also bathroom was dirty (I took pictures of that). So only space and very comfortable beds were satisfied. In my opinion that absolutely wasn`t standard of Best Western standard.

    « Cockroach Centre »

The hotel gave us three separate rooms in different buildings, although we had booked a suite for a family of 5 adults for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. It ruined our holiday as the place was filthy with cockroaches littering the place.

« Comments Cape Town stay »

Overall enjoyed the week's stay at the Best Western, Cape Town. Had to use the top pool as the deck was being refurbished of the main pool outside restaurant - not a good time i.e. after 16th Dec to be doing this type of maintenance. Top pool - not enough loungers around pool. Otherwise service and staff very friendly and helpful. The downside of the location of our room was that it faced the restaurant kitchens and delivery of groceries often took place very early in the morning, with the associated disturbance of the trucks and people talking loudly.

    « fantastic stay!!! »

i had a lovely stay as always the service was great and i dont see myself staying at any other hotel. i have been going o this hotel since the year 2000 my parents use to stay there and they always told family and friends to stay there. looking foward to visit again untill next time!!!

« My stay at Best Western Cap Suites Hotel on 02 January »

Check-in was slow on 02 January apparently because cleaning of rooms was delayed. The 3-bedrooms apartment where we stayed had only one air conditioning unit and there was noise from the vehicles circulating on the front road of the hotel.

    « Terrible,disappointing and misrepresented »

The hotel was absolutely not what is portrayed on the Internet. After waiting nearly two hours for the rooms to be ready after arriving at 14:00 which is check in time , the rooms were dirty, had broken cupboards ,outdated. I will never consider staying there again.

    « Extremely dissapointing »

Village style hotel with view of the table mountains but what the advertisement fails to mention is how uncomfortable it is . The air conditioning hardly works and is there only in the living room. The bathrooms are old fashioned style the sofas are about to collapse the whole place seem to be in tatters. The first night we could not sleep at all because of the heat but the management was not helpful any it. We had the misfortune of being booked for three nights and got our room changed after a lot of pleading. The breakfast is quite passable but there is no room service. It takes ages for them to call a taxi.

« Disappointed with Service, quality, facilities and cleanliness »

online pics deceptive. suites are older and run down. cleanliness was shocking. cockroach infested. cleaning staff only vacuum on request. no wi-fi in rooms. no clean towels available. bathrooms are outdated and cranky. money was held on our credit card even though payment was made in full on arrival. won't recommend to anyone.

We have been using this hotel for the last 8 years and have always had a very good experience. It has however gone downhill, we encountered numerous issues the least of all being the mould and shabbiness of the rooms. We will be looking elsewhere for future trips.

House keeping needs special attention. All staff very friendly and help full. Maintaince are good and breakfast are excellent very nice and a variety to choose from huge .this is really the place to be at for a holiday in cape town. The view is stunning table mountain at the back of hotel waterfront in front just perfect

    « Dirty and old. »

The bathrooms were dirty with mold, blood and hair on floors. Toilet paper was only supplied after asking countless times. Carpet was not vacuum cleaned. TV out of order. Furniture old with chipped paint. Roaches roaming about in broad daylight, getting into our luggage.

« My stay at Best western Cape Town »

I had a lovely stay in Cape town and Best western cape suites had its own highs and lows. The reception staff are very friendly and welcoming though we were not given full details especially about the free shuttle to the waterfront which would have been a plus for us. We just heard about it on the last day from another guest. The rooms are nice and clean though bedding were only changed on the third day of our 5 day stay. The restaurant has great meals and the have a bar 'Just chilling' was a refreshing stop over after a long day out. The kitchen staff and restaurant staff are very friendly and very helpful too, was a busy period but they managed to get to one very quickly. It was a good stay would recommend it. The tranquility and peace of this hotel is great.

« Accomodation Best Western Cape Town »

A comfortable apartment. Clean, neat and close to town. They do have a bus service to V & A Waterfront, Cape Town International Airport, Camps Bay and even to Table Mountain. We did not use the service bur it is nice to know that it is available. Wifi also a plus. We thoroughly enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Very competent and friendly reception staff.

    « Worst hotel i stayed in »

I was very disappointed with this accommodation, unit was not what I saw on the internet and was very untidy if it had not been peak season I would have not stayed at this hotel. The toilets in the en suite bedroom leaked a you flushed the basin was blocked the show floor was dirty I had to disinfect the shower floor for my children to have a shower and that blue kitchen no lounge and floors were not cleaned the carpets smelt horrible. I will not advise anyone to stay at this hotel.

    « Never again »

We stayed at the Best Western for 8 nights during the December holidays. The service was extremely disappointing. Housekeeping was always a problem. After a full day out we would come back to a room that still wasnt made up. This happened almost everyday. When they did eventually make up our room they would leave without replacing the towels. On a number of occasions we would be left with the same dirty towels. There was never enough seating for breakfast. There is just too much of a dont care attitude going on at this hotel. All in all it was just extremely dissapointing and not an enjoyable stay. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

    « Never again »

With a old run down room full of cockroaches and an air conditioner that didn't work and noisy guests the whole night long, my stay at this hotel was not pleasant to say the least. I will not be stating here again. I've stayed in many Best Western hotels around the world and this was the worst by far.

« Clean but not comfy »

The staff are magnificent and the suite is clean and safe but the aircon is nonexistent. Luckily we could have cold showers every three hours to cool down enough for a little bit of sleep. Sadly we did not have time to test out the restaurant facilities but they looked well presented.

    « Nice stay! »

Brilliant staff service. No request was too much, and you were always greeted by a smile. The room had a "tired" look and could do with updating, but facilities were good, and cleanliness was top. Good location, food service and nice small pool areas. Can definitively recommend it!

    « Terrible »

Terrible service. Inefficient. Very outdated rooms Poor furniture and bedding 2 families of mine booked only 1 stayed begrudgingly the other had a 3 bedroom and the lounge suite was torn and tattered and the cleaners had cleaned the whole day even though we arrived at 4pm it was a mess

    « Last resort »

Found these Flats on as a last resort to our family holiday in Cape Town. Firstly the hotel name should be scrapped out and be replaced with apartments. This Hotel/Apartments is definitely one I would like to stay in it again. We stayed in a 3 bedroom flat which offered no comfort. The best we could do was just to come at night to sleep. Seats were the worst I have ever seen in a 3 bedroom setup. Although it is thoroughly clean, one could argue that proper maintenance, particularly in the bathrooms would give a different look. Breakfast was OK but nothing special as by the second day you will get bored of eating pretty much the same stuff. During the festive season the restaurant was full and there appeared to be no floor supervisor for that matter. guests were not seated, as a result it looked like a pandemonium. Literally, anybody could invite 10 friends from outside and just rock up for breakfast as no body would check that. Despite my mostly cons for this accommodation establishment, I can commend some of the stuff for their friendliness.

« Best Western Cape Suites Hotel - 'Best Stay in Cape Town' »

Great hotel right in the city centre of Cape Town. Hotel is located at the base of Table Mountain and has great views of the city and Table Mountain. Hotel is about 15 minutes walk to Green Market Square, where you have great shops, a market for Souvenirs, clothes etc, cheaper than the V & A Water Front, restaurants, Castle of Good Hope, City hall (where Nelson Mandela gave his first speech after he was released from prison). Cape Town Free Walking Tours also begin at Green Market Square. Best Western Hotel has beautiful clean rooms with great comfortable beds, a balcony, kitchenette of your own, with fridge, microwave, cooking facilities, etc (you feel so at home you forget that you are in a hotel), beautiful clean bathroom. The hotel has a beautiful restaurant which provides breakfast, lunch and dinner, a la Carte menus as well as ordinary meals. Room service is available if you are feeling lazy to go down for dinner etc but it will cost you R30:). I absolutely loved their buffet breakfast and the dinners. Thanks Chef! Their Hotel staff are professional, polite, friendly and do a fantastic job to ensure that you have a wonderful best stay. They also organise day trips or tours for you. The Hotel also offers free shuttle service to the airport, Table Mountain and V&A Waterfront. There is free internet/wi fi access, free local calls and conference facilities. If you fancy a swim the hotel also has two very clean outdoor swimming pools and a barbecue area if you fancy having a 'braai.' Next visit in Cape Town - definitely coming back to the 'Best Western.' Would like to thank all the staff and management for their wonderful service and hospitality.

We just got back from a 9nt stay at the 'best' western. One of the worst places I've stayed. Im not a fussy person, but this place is something else. The microwave didn't work properly, the stove was faulty, the blinds were broken, the shower didnt have a cover on the drain, just one huge hole. Rooms were never cleaned properly. We got home a few evenings after 7 and our apartment was still not serviced. The last 2 nights of our stay, housekeeping had not put the duvet covers on the duvets. After numerous requests, it was still not done. They ran short of towels. There's not enough seating for breakfast, we ended up going out for breakfast because of this. First and last time we stay at theis place!

« Nice hotel good value for money. »

Located just on the foothills of the table mountain this location is the best value for money , excellent service good restaurants around and they provide drop off and pick up from the surrounding area.

« Beautiful View of Table Mountain »

Loved this hotel, although it is not luxurious or anything, it was quite comfortable. This hotel is more like a town home community. The rooms are spacious, there's free wifi in the hotel office, staff is nice, breakfast was excellent (buffet style) and the little bar that is located at the hotel is adorable. Such a cool little bar, great patio and there is even a live band. The times that we visited the bar in the evenings, it was a younger crowd. The food at the bar was pretty good too. The staff at the bar could be a bit quicker, although, that might be my "American" way of thinking. Since everything in Cape Town is so relaxed. I have to say, I did not have to deal with the hotel directly, as I stayed there with a group from school. With that said, I have no complaints.

    « Great Stay »

Value for money as breakfast is included in the room rate. Large room and having a kitchen is a added bonus. Comfortable beds and good quality linen. Safe and secure parking. Overall a great place to stay.

« Book, Cover- that's all i'm gonna to say »

This Hotel has the coffee in room and kitchenettes, whether the appliances work is a matter of luck. Please note there are no lifts and the walk-in showers are all located on the bottom levels. Until this hotel has upgraded it's cleaning standards and hygiene and maintenance issues, they will not be on par with the Overseas Best western Group. They have nice clean white linen and good breakfast and willing front desk staff, and central location, which were the only redeeming factors. Oh, and the units are larger than norm. I have launched a complaint with Best Western international group, and they have taken it from there. I'm not uploading any pics as I've already forwarded them to the relevant parties. This could be a Fantastic Hotel, though right now, it's just missing the bulls-eye.

    « Unsatisfied »

I booked the hotel as it was close to the venue I needed to be at. Check in was ok, not to long. Was not impressed with the room, we were given twin beds ( we were husband & wife sharing ), however we were ok with that as we were only staying for one night. The bathroom wasn't cleaned properly, floors and bath were dirty. The toilet was not even flushed. The shower was not working. Insect repellents are needed in the rooms as there are way to many flies and moths. Was not impressed with hotel room at all. I have stayed at plenty hotels in an around Cape Town and this is the first hotel ever that I was not impressed with any details.

    « Family Holiday »

We had a very pleasant stay and Mike at the front desk was fabulous. The breakfast was awesome and the pools were fantastic. The location was very central for us as we had a hired car and we were going out exploring every day.

    « 6 days Capetown »

The staff is very friendly. They helped me in in good way to make a programm for the days I stayed in Capetown. The breakfast was excellent. The location is somewhat outside the tourist-district. The last two days they didn't cleanup my room. And for the transportation back to the airport the shuttle was not available.

    « Ryan »

Overall stay was pleasant. Room was clean and spacious. Staff, cant remember the gentleman's name who shuttled us to the airport, but his attention to customer satisfaction goes beyond that of ensuring customers have a great stay. With his dedication to assist us I would recommend staying again.

    « Enviroserv »

Rooms, dining area and furniture are old fashioned. On the evening of the 10th someone was having a party and it was very noisy without any consideration for other guests. I feel someone from your management team should have stepped in.

Most friendly and welcoming employees, they really go the extra mile for the customer ,clean and neat premises. althought the breakfastwas not kept warm as I would like it to be the overall impression of food is good. I would stay there anytime

    « Excellent »

Always happy to come there. Always spend time with my husband when we need to talk or discuss things. the university make use of the facility as well. We go over during lunch time to have a quick coffee and catch up with staff from other departments who we not normally see because of busy schedules.

« Pleasant stay at Cape Suites »

Stayed at the Cape Suites for four nights. Requested an airport shuttle (free) and the driver was already there waiting when I arrived. Driver was very friendly as well (same drive took me back to the airport when I left. Great guy!) Overall, had a pleasant stay. Room was spacious with a little kitchenette. The bed was actually pretty comfortable. Staff was extremely nice and made the stay more welcoming. I only had breakfast one of the mornings (not much of a breakfast guy) and it was fine - standard buffet type. Location was good - about 10-15 minutes walk to downtown. There's also a Yellow Hop On/Hop Off bus station nearby at the District Six museum (10-15 minute walk) in case anyone is wondering. Hotel provides free shuttle services (pre-booking required) to Waterfront or Table Mountain. My only complaint is the wifi. Hotel provides a voucher that you can use to access the Red Button wifi. However, the WiFi is extremely slow..too slow. Hotel should do something about the WiFi. Other than the WiFi, everything else was great. I don't mind staying here again in the future whenever I am back in Cape Town - I just hope when I return, the wifi actually works.

    « A great stay! »

We were four friends that stayed in a two bedroom apartment for one evening. It was just lovely. A perfect get away. Thanks to the Manager of the hotel and her staff for the friendly service. We will be back.

    « Internship accomodation »

The price that I pay for a single small room is way too high for what you get in return. An extremely small room with 2 beds and a fixed closet which can't move at all. Location is great though. Furthermore, the facilities are good. 2 swimming pools, a braai, a pub and well-secured fences.

« Was going to stay for 10months, after 1 week I wanted to leave. »

The unit was very small for four people, one of the bathrooms was broken and couldn't be used. Their where a view burglaries when I stayed at the Best Western and nothing really changed afterwards. They are very disappointing as they act as if they're helpful, but actually don't do anything. The rooms are not getting cleaned properly and you have to call about 4 times before they come back and try it again. No Wi-Fi, no nice looking apartments, no clean towels, no nothing. I am very disappointed.... And would never recommend it to a friend.

    « Dishonest and disappointing »

The unit's we were given at check in was not the one reserved and the hotel was fully booked. The Master Bedroom was almost totally taken up by the bed, with little room to move around each other and very limited storage for luggage or clothing. The Master bath was, at best the size of a small closet with a 2'6" square shower cubicle with a single old sink squeezed in between it and the commode. The water pressure at move in was little more than a dribble and it took a couple of visits from maintenance personnel to increase it, which in turn then insufficient hot water for 3 people to shower consecutively thanks to an undersized individual water tank, located in what should have been the kitchen pantry. The room safe was not functioning at check in and required two visits from maintenance technicians in order to repair it and secure our valuables. The onsite restaurant had a very limited menu which, even was not even accurate. The advertised internet was, at best spotty and often non-existent which seemed to be a regular complaint from most guests not just those in our section. Very frustrating and stressful visit. Best avoided.

« Buisness trip in capetown »

Overall stay is good but in the evening to noise and there is no control to calm down, so please some attention to this. But room is clean and bed is very good which is good value for money also the breakfast is excellent and worth to come back for

    « Thurston »

Hospitality is great keep up enjoyed my stay there so close to everything. The staff are service are good and friendly. Will for sure come again and before I forget Compliments to the Chef.

    « Fair stay »

Generally a value-for-money, centrally located venue which is on the outskirts of the city, in District Six. Can have elevated levels of noise, but generally good with excellent, friendly, helpful staff members.

    « Not great »

The room was shabby, furniture mis-matched and neglected. The carpet was stained and grubby, and the bathroom smelt damp. Lots of noisy neighbours late at night and early morning. Free wifi was promised but it was difficult to register and impossible to maintain a constant internet connection. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was adequate. I would not stay here again.

    « Shocking!!!!!!!!! »

Room was in such a neglected state. For what one's pays for supposed three star accommodation - pictures on website was not what was experienced. What a total disappointment as have always found excellent establishments via Trip Advisor.

    « Acceptable Standard »

Noise late at night by guess speaking loudly seem to be a problem specially if the hotel wants to keep its reputation. I was a previous owner for 14 years before I sold my unit and I would like to keep coming back but I will reconsider if the problem with rowdy guests is not improved.

    « Hotel suites »

Overall good stay. Nice suite, with lounge and kitchenette. A little loud late at night. Not close to shops. The service was good and the staff helpful. The breakfast was slightly under catered, but adequate.

    « LS Mokoena »

Please add or balance the single and double queen bed in your rooms, it is not nice sleeping on a single bed. what happened to self service during your breakfast, please reconsider the previous arrangement, it is the reason we always booked at this facility.
