"Very good and handy for the airport"

5
Paul M, Banbury 04/04/2019

I booked for a night to be close to Rennes and the airport. This was very good. There are some positive, not many negatives, and a few things that are clearly different from other TA posts; Yes - I'd stay here again if coming to Rennes. Positives - loads. Very nice room - quite large, comfortable, clean. Good wifi. A small but pleasant swimming pool and a small gym with CV equipment. Could do with a few free weights. Breakfast was excellent - really good quality and well presented. The reception team were lovely. Lots of great things there. Negatives - not many; Currently (April 2019) they have some building work going on and whilst they're clearly trying to minimise impact, there is a bit of disruption. For some rooms you have to go outside - there are covered walkways, but if you come at a cold or wet time it's not ideal. The coffee maker in the room was left unplugged and switched off. For those of us who don't have one of these pod-type machines, and don't necessarily know how they work, it's a real frustration to spend ages trying to work out why it's not working. Please hotels - leave it ready to go, and a very simple pictorial guide of how to work it right there. Other reviews; Other TA users talk about rooms not cleaned - not my experience here, and poor links to the airport. I don't know why - they have a hotel shuttle (charge €10), and from the airport I took a taxi from the taxi rank outside (cost €8). It's about 1.5 miles away - I might be tempted to walk it on a nice day.

I and my collegue were in this hotel for one night as 22nd Oct. 2017 and in the morning i found collegue with red nick due to allergy from the unclean bed and pillow cover. We have experinced a bad time in this hotel and even there was no sorry from the reception employees who received our complain. I advise all of you to search for another hotel

We were able to visit the hotel (my husband and me ) with couple of friends mid August . We arrived at 22 :30 and left early , the receptionist was welcoming. the room was clean , comfortable bed and pillows.toilet amenities, quiet hotel . The only inconvenience was that we had to pull our bagages on the stairs . Would recommend it

The room was fine, the front desk folks charming, BUT no airport shuttle and no reasonable taxi service nor buses to/from this property and the Rennes airport: if you don't have a car, do NOT book here.

"Good for airport in/out"

I stayed there one night in anticipation for an early flight out of Rennes Airport. If you have a rental car and are not from Europe, be warned that the gas stations in Rennes do not accept international credit card (that require signature instead of pin), debit card, or cash -- they are not staffed by humans. So, I was unable to fill the rental car up with gas! I just took it to the airport without the gas filled back up. The hotel has a restaurant. The room was comfortable and quiet. I couldn't find an elevator to get to 2nd floor with my large bag. No worries, my arms got some good exercise.

"Nice Place"

Stayed here one night. Not too far from the airport, about a $18 cab ride. Very quiet hotel. Not much around it, but the McDonald's is open late. Room was comfortable; very typical to most Best Western's I've stayed in back in the States.

"Pleasant and Practical"

We arrived by bicycle and requested an early check-in due to rain in the area. Our check-in was moved forward and our bicycles garaged. Our room was neat, clean and air conditioned. The dining room was closed over the weekend and the bar was not patronised that we noticed. The restaurant across the road proved to be a good substitute with an extensive menu and good wines. The staff at this establishment proved to be very pleasant and helpful, and one wishes that our stay could have been during the business week when the place really humms.

"Quiet and out of the way"

What a nice surprise in this out of town location. A nice airy reception area and very helpful staff. The rooms are on two floors and are very nicely appointed in both decor and layout. And have A/C, the only down side to this visit is the fact that the restaurant was closed so the restaurant across the road did a nice trade.

"Great family room"

Not far from st malo so great as a last night stop in france. This hotel has great family sized rooms and lovely little swimming pool. Decor could be updated but a good nights sleep with comfortable massive beds and to top it off a fantastic Italian restaurant just across the road too!

"Strange place but nice and the restaurant? Wow...."

This was one of the strangest places I've stayed at when working... I saw the outside in the half dark and my face fell but the service was impeccable (very young looking front desk but very efficient and very friendly), the layout was beyond strange but by no means offensive and the rooms were spacious and pleasantly (if again not slightly strangely) decorated. The beds were so comfortable my colleague slept in and we almost missed our flights! The best is yet to come! I've eaten in more restaurants than one person ever should and I have to say, this slightly odd hotel has the best food I have EVER eaten! Course after amazing course we stuffed ourselves beyond what we should have done. Again, the staff were friendly and helpful, the chef even came out to talk to us after we sent out thanks for an incredible meal. I would, without a doubt, not only go back but would recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in the area.

Spent a whole day there working! Had great service and a warm welcome. Both the restaurant and hotel staff were super nice and very helpful, and had friendly conversations. Hotel is very clean, confortable, good breakfast with specialty local cakes, nice little swimming pool. Only sad thing is that the gym was not open for guests as advertised.

"Great Place to Stay for Early Flights at Rennes Airport - BUT !!!"

Over the past 5 years we have used this hotel for when ever I'm flying out of Rennes. The hotel is clean and the people are nice. However, you must be aware that the dinning room is not open every night so you may have to go over to the local McDonald's (across the parking lot). You should also be aware that since the hotel does not have a shuttle to the airport - YOU MUST CALL FOR A CAB. Since the taxi cab people know this, they will not send a cab form the airport which is right down the road and would only cost you a few Euros for the ride. The cab company have a driver come out from Rennes (the city) to pick you up and you end up paying 30 euros for a 5 euro ride. When I last stayed at this hotel and I had a cab take me to the airport - when I got to the airport there were 4 cabs sitting outside and the drivers were siting inside the airport at the coffee shop. This hotel needs to change their business model (get a van for service to the airport) and start to care about their customers.

"Never again"

My grand daughter and I stayed here for 2 weeks while visiting my daughter and her family. My daughter has 6 kids, so it isn't very easy for her and her husband to accommodate tow adult guests. When I made our reservation, I paid for breakfast everyday, BUT the hotel didn't replenish the breakfast buffet on a daily basis, so by Friday most of the food was gone!!!! And, no one works in the kitchen on Saturday or Sunday mornings. I also reserved a room on the second floor, which we did get, but there is no elevator, and to get to your room, you must go outside and go up the steps. NO ONE at the desk ever offered any help. They say they have air conditioning, but it is not what I am used to, and there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. When I go back to visit my daughter, I will not stay here, I'll sleep on her floor or one of my grandchildren beds.

Dear Guests, We are very surprised to read that you spent 2 weeks in our hotel as none stayed for this period in june..? In fact, the hotel has no elevator, we usually offer help to bring luggage to rooms, we are sorry if it has not been done? However, we want to inform it is not possible to pay for breakfast at the reservation (before arrival, credit card given is just for guarantee for internet bookings); we prefer guests to decide on site if they want it or not, day after day. Regarding your stay value, we would like to apologise for not exceeding your expectations. If we can provide any assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. Regards

"Overnight Stay at Ker Lann"

Andrew T, Ross on Wye, United Kingdom 25/08/2014

Stayed overnight on way home from holiday. Excellent hotel, clean and very professional and helpful staff. Comfortable and clean room with a bath. Surroundings of hotel not great, but this did not matter for a one night stop. Excellent breakfast, but would have been good to know the restaurant is not open at weekends (although there is a McDonalds within walking distance!!)

"Nice due proximity to airport"

Quite average bizz hotel. Rooms are ok, clean & space wise fair for price, but interior style is a disaster. Service is quite good and very friendly. Good suggestions for restaurants in Rennes. Internet WLan is free which is a plus. Unfortunately Dns server issues on Wlan and hence it was not working.
