« Good location for Expo and excellent staff but rather poor rooms »

This was the closest hotel I could book to Expo at short notice. I had asked for a double bed which I was given, but there were two additional single beds in my (thankfully larger than average) corner room. I had to use the two spare beds to keep my clothes as there was no other storage space except for one small hanging area. The room was so cramped that I had to sit on the bed to use the small work desk as I could not fit the chair into the gap. I then had to crawl under the desk to fumble with the heating controls. At least the bed was comfortable. Excellent shower, some toiletries and a hairdryer. I started with a good number of towels which were gradually removed as my stay progressed, until I asked for more from the housekeeping staff. One small bath towel is not enough when I want to dry myself and my hair! Free wifi and the internet connection was not too bad at all. Breakfast buffet is quite good but there is no restaurant for lunch/dinner. Fortunately there are some reasonable restaurants within a very short walk (although some are closed on Mondays). There is a small public area on the ground floor with internet access and some sort of drink serving arrangements, The reception staff were very good indeed, especially in wrestling with the appalling Brussels radio-taxi services. My main complaint is the price for the rather poor accommodation, but I guess one pays for the location. I am told there is a height restriction on the hotel parking, while on street parking is free only until 09:00 - worth knowing if you are an exhibitor at Expo with a van.

« Business Trip to AidEx »

Although the hotel was ideally placed for the exhibition halls, the rooms were a little tight, I am glad I left my cat at home!! The hotel was clean and the staff friendly, breakfast was as per Best Western units, plenty to eat and the cooked food fresh.

« One of the worst hotel ever »

I had to stay in this hotel despite the bad feedback about it because of lack of alternatives. It was definitely one of the worst experience ever. The room very small, the bad too soft. The first room had broken heating system, the second was for smokers, the third it was right on the street so very noisy...but I had to stay with it. Mineral still water in bottle not available, food not available, dinner not available... "gym" was a 2 squared meter room close to the reception ... That was my first and last time. Only positive aspect...the staff...also because I don't think it is a easy job to work in such kind of structure !

« Perfect location for the athletics. »

I went to Brussels to watch the Diamand League athletics final at the King Baudouin stadium. The hotel is right across the road to the main entrance. It is clean, modern. Great breakfast. Close to Metro station. All very good.

« Best Western Hotel Expo »

Basic budget hotel. Small rooms, noisy street but cheap.very fusty smell in lobbies, obviuously a flood sometime. Okay for one night stop over. Not far from E40 Highway. On street parking behind hotel, free after 6pm. Not a good area for restaurants, seek one out online before you go.

« Good location, fair price but small and noisy »

Good location and fair price. My room was extremely small. As I understand most of them have the same size. I was alone but feeling of a small room didn't leave me. In a couple it will be tough. My windows were look at main street, and it was really noisy.

    « perfect for 1 night »

It's a budget hotel, so you get what you pay for. Chose the hotel because it was close to the stadium. Friendly and helpful staff. Stayed on the 4th floor, which was quiet. Room and bathroom were clean. No airco but the room has a little fan.

    « good standard »

Perfect location if you want to go to the stadium (e.g. concert). Mini Europe and Atomium in walking distance. Some restaurants, small supermarket and bakery are nearby. Brussels centre approx. 30 minutes with public transport. Rate was doubled in the night of the concert but thats ok. We parked in a side street for free (weekend). Staff is very friendly but there was no room service!? We skipped breakfast, optionally available for EUR 11 p.P.

« A weekend to remember in Brussels »

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend in this fantastic city; Brussels. We stayed at this hotel. I was convenient and within walking distant from the Metro and also the Expo Centre and Stadium complex. The hotel was comfortable. The rooms, though small were adequate and there was the facility to make tea or coffee. A good breakfast was also available. The hotel was clean. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and spoke English. Car parking under cover was available and WiFi too.

    « Ok for a short stay »

This is a budget hotel so was not expecting too much from a 2 night stay. Chose the hotel due to location as it was close to the Palais 12 concert venue. Rooms are small, bathroom is tiny, but functional. Breakfast was fine and even though there was a limited choice, the food was ok. It is fairly close to a couple of metro stations so it is easy to get around and into and out of the central Brussels area. It is also fairly close to the Atomium!

    « Tiny rooms »

The rooms are super small. But the staff was really friendly and helped us get around. And they're pretty clean rooms as well. They advertise that they have breakfast, but keep in mind it's another 11 Euros (not included, like it often is at Best Westerns in the states). The covered parking is also this really small garage in the back (could probably only fit about 6 cars), but we didn't have a problem with overcrowding while we were there.

    « Good value clean »

This hotel offers good value. The rooms are not large and the showers really tiny. But everything is very clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Good choice if in transit Brussels and you need a budget room. It is situated fight by the Expo park and has good nighttime views of the Atomium

« Singles' stay for business or catch up for home-away homeworks »

If you have a car and drive through Brussels looking for a budget hotel to stay, with included parking and WiFi, BW Expo may be your next choice. The room was quite small, just one person or max. a couple to stay. Nothing fancy at all. If you're lucky, one of receptionist, who's from Italy, was kind to provide almost all the info you may need, in a French way. On the first day I arrived, the elevator was out of service due to local rain flooding; I was relieved it's back in service again the next day. Btw, room service was not done in the morning as usual. My advice is always to ask many questions by phone in advance to avoid last minute surprise, if possible.

« conveniently located close to subway and 15-20 min walk to Expo »

Well Located on main road close to subway and at 20 min walk to Expo. Very Small rooms. Right across stadium for games. Not many restaurants in neighbourhood. Moderate breakfast. Rooms could have been slightly bigger.

    « Excellent value - convenient transportation »

This is not a high-end Hotel. The rooms are small and the showers are tiny even by European Standards but, It is clean and comfortable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Rating is hard because it so depends on what you are looking for. This is not a luxury accommodation and would not score too well against the Antwerp Hilton but, I would just as soon stay here as in the Brussels Airport Sheridan and it is a lot less expensive than either. It is very nice for what it is. It is about 25 minutes away from the city center but, it is located near the end of the number 6 Metro and the public transportation in Brussels is cheap and efficient - I recommend the 10-ride pass good for a year. Just south of the hotel is a major tram terminal if that is preferred to the Metro. It is also virtually across the street from the Soccer Stadium. There are a number of local restaurants an Cafes nearby. The hotel is not new and has not had any recent interior renovations so, there are only two electrical outlets (at least in my room) and one has a coffee maker plugged into it. The hotel staff did find an extension with multiple outlets for me to use. The hotel has parking but, it is very limited and usually full. It has a small but pleasant lounge area near the checkin counter with a television and some vended goods. The breakfast is not fancy but, it is adequate. Scrambled eggs, bacon eggs you can boil to your own liking, cereal, packaged yogurt, breads, jams, croissants, etc. The coffee is good. I stayed here because there were several events in town (which happens often as it is the seat of the EU as well as home to Eurocontrol and NATO) and the places I usually stay were either sold out or had more than doubled the rate they normally charge. This hotel is a bit away from town, in fact it is at the very end of the Metro on the NW but, the public transportation in Brussels is great and the distance was not a big inconvenience for my two night stay. I would stay here again for business travel. It was completely adequate and very reasonable.

    « Good for a overnight stay »

I stayed here during batibouw, a local fair. Room was small, but ok as I only wanted to sleep and move on the next day. It was clean with a good bed. Breakfast was standard buffet. Staff was very sloppy. They did not bother to clean any of the tables, making a mess for people taking breakfast after 8.30. Price was 116 euro which is way too much. 70 euro would have been acceptable.

« Utilitarian business hotel for those in need of just a place to sleep and some amenities »

I used this hotel for a single night on the way to somewhere else. Location-wise it is good for its closeness to a metro station. There are also some restaurants around and a small supermarket nearby. This said, in my oppinion this is by no means a tourist hotel so forget about going on foot to any touristic place, unless you long to see a stadium which is right in front of it. This also means that the hotel was quiet and the sleep quality good. If you opt for the breakfast-included option you will find that the restaurant area has just enough food to cover your basic needs. Mine included salmon which they didn't have but then again, remember that the keyword here is Utilitarian. Two nice amenities that I found to my liking was the free gym and the free parking, both of them tiny but sufficient. The room itself was clean but...let's just say that you are not going to find a Rembrandt hanging on any of the walls. the furniture was definitely on the cheap side, but useful nonetheless. There were some (humidity?) marks on one of my walls, but there were no other problems whatsoever. The staff was friendly and educated, as much as Brussels service industry can be educated and friendly. Some may find them cold, but they took care of everything that was needed so, to me, they were perfect. If you need a no-nonsense place to stay in Brussels, this is definitely it.

    « City break hotel »

The room is very small but enough for two nights stay. The mattress was comfortable and the room was clean. I've booked this hotel because it is close to Atomium and Mini-Europe park. Metro station Roi Baudouin is at 5 min distance. The parking has 6 places and I was lucky to find one.

    « Cannot be smaller... »

"Warm hospitality" - forget about it. Except standard "hello" and "may I have your passport" lady at check in gave us keys telling on which floor the room is and tickets with the password for Wi-Fi. That was it. If you need more information you may find it in the folder in the room. We were prepared that rooms are small....and they really are. I keep on wondering how they manage to make a double room with bathroom in such a small space. Fine if you plan your stay for one night. Please install ventilation in the bathroom. From all that humidity the ceiling in the bathroom turned black. For the rest clean and soft bed to sleep. Tasty breakfast, only missed fresh vegetables. Kind, friendly and sufficient receptionist guy at check out. The biggest advantage of the hotel - it's location.

« Great location and 4 minutes to the metro »

We used this as business team location and the staff was great. I was the fish to arrive a few days early and they gladly gave me a tour of the rooms, let me use free wifi even though my stay was still a couple of days away. The rooms are very clean, small (like Europe) but very clean and a nice set of stairs and elevator. The hotel sits right on the main Avenue Houma de Strooper near the Atomium exposition and that is but one metro stop away or a 15 minute walk around the stadium. I do wish there was an included breakfast. You can buy breakfast for 11 Euros but there are some good bakery shops and Pubs and Cafes close by for a cheaper breakfast. For meals the metro can take you downtown in 10 minutes or just walk ½ block to some great pubs. Truly a good hotel.

« Excellent hotel close to centre of Brussels »

We chose this hotel as an en-route stopover from England to Copenhagen. We were rewarded with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, an excellent breakfast, directly opposite the Heysel (?) Stadium. Close to the outer ring road, with easy parking and close to the tram stop this would make an ideal hotel from which to explore Brussels. Enjoy your stay!

« Nice central location ... and thats it really »

On a business trip. It's a really really basic hotel. Absolutely no room service available, arrived close to midnight and had to sleep on an empty stomach as a result. And in fact no restaurant either it seems. Had breakfast, which was fine. Then had to venture out at night after an all day work meeting to buy a kebab - which was not a great thing. Otherwise, small, clean and decent room.

« Basic but great value »

This is an ideal base for a visit to the Belgium capital. Very well connected with a tram stop and a metro station in easy walking distance. Opposite the King Baudouin Stadium and 10 minutes walk to the Atomium. Arrival by car is easy as it is just off the Brussels Ring Road, there is free limited parking (we had no problems getting a space). The decor is basic but clean, the rooms are very small but functional. We had a flat screen TV with Belgian, French and UK channels. Small shower room, again does what it needed to! The hotel has a breakfast room, serving a simple continental style breakfast with cheese, meats, pastries and a hit tray. We had not been expecting breakfast, the receptionist advised us that we could have breakfast and it was included in our tariff. When we checked out a different receptionist advised we needed to pay (11 euros per day each). I do not believe this offers good value for money. On explanation the receptionist agreed to waive the charges as they were the hotel's error.
