    Excellent hotel, close to subway stops, grocery store, Duncan Donuts and restaurants. We were a group of 40+ traveling by bus with bikes for the 5 boro ride, BW allowed us to store all of our equipment and bicycles in a secure room until needed.

    When I reserve a king bed, give me a room with one The TV is ridiculous. The guide didn't work, it takes 30 -45 seconds for the channel to change. After 15 minutes of trying to find the basketball game, I gave up. Parking was easy and they comped it because they didn't have a king bed room. Free water was nice. Breakfast was free & convenient, but was the pretty standard tasteless fare.

    My wife and I stayed here for three days and two nights. The Park Slope location, near train and stores is great. We had great customer service from Jet, Cierra and Natalia. The bathroom was very clean, especially the shower area ( this is very important ). The room was adequate and the bed was comfortable. We are planning a return trip, I would definitely stay here again.

    We've stayed for 4 nights at this 2-stars hotel, even though our agency presented it as a 4-stars location. It was certain that it couldn't have been so high at 160$\\night, since everybody knows what prices New York has to offer, nevertheless I was expecting a lot more. Breakfast hit me really hard, a disaster, very, very low quality, plastic plates and forks which you had to throw aways because there was no staff around. Dirty floors and tables. The hotel looks more like a motel, the pictures speak for themselves. The room was extremely small, we didn't have enough space to place our luggage. There are two positive things about this place: the bathroom is clean and modern and the location ia very good, right near the metro station (25 St). Staff was not to interested on what's going on, not to helpful. I wouldn't come here again.

    first off Jet was amazing! She made our stay wonderful! She was beyond helpful! Second the hotel is great. Location is amazing and the train is right out the front door! The rooms are a great size the price is very reasonable, very clean! I'm glad I found this place! Will be coming back here for my next stay!

    The Staff was very friendly and helpful if we needed something. Also our room was very clean. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. Thanks shad. Breakfast is ok I wish they had donoughts but there's dunkin donoughts next door

    I have stayed at this hotel 4 times over the past 3 years. I have nothing bad to say about any of my stays. The manager, Shad, is amazing. I found the breakfast to be better than most hotels. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. They recently went through a remodel and upgrade. The hotel is on the "R" line which has most of what you want to see in NYC on it. The 25th Street Subway Station is about 10 feet from the front door. I will always make this my first choice.

    Don't be fooled out of town tourists. This hotel is being used by the City of New York as a homeless shelter. Homeless loiter outside and the room contained a price list for any missing items (clearly inflated). My husband observed a homeless gentleman taking advantage of the free breakfast.

    Stayed here during ACC week ? early March. Modern hotel in a working-area of Brooklyn. Clean, comfortable room with modern bathroom. Good, free breakfast and wifi. Friendly and helpful staff. Very convenient to the Barclays Center, 3 subway stops away.Only draw backs: did not get the requested wake-up call and instead of the requested cab to the airport was provided a car-service (not uncommonly used by NYC hotels) that charged an excessive amount for trip to JFK.

    Shad, Amber and Jet are the best. They are extremely professional. They made our stay comfortable. My family and I came from Florida for my grandmother's funeral service and we stayed in room 704. The room service was great and the hotel is nice and the location was good too.

    I was in NY for a week long business trip. I wanted a hotel in a decent neighborhood, close to the subway, with places to eat within walking distance, at an affordable price. The Brooklyn Way Hotel has all of those qualities. It was clean, has a small workout room, and good wifi. The walls are a little thin but I just used my white noise phone app. The oatmeal on the free breakfast bar was not edible. Otherwise breakfast was OK. An added bonus was the beautiful view of Manhattan. I recommend it and would stay there again.

    I just had to return to New York and to the Brooklyn Way Hotel again. This time I was helped by Jet, Natalia and Shad at the front desk & they each provided me with great customer service with a smile. (Thanks to the front desk crew) I also ran into Mirabelle who does a great job of running the breakfast area M-F . I have nothing but good things to say about Brooklyn Way Hotel, they have some new friendly people working and they are doing some remodeling. I had to drive again from Boston to Brooklyn and needed a hotel that provides great service, parking and is affordable. Thanks agin and i'll see you soon.

    Excellent service real clean and a good quiet place to relax and get your business done. Good parking and awesome breakfast dont have to worry about your car getting stolen its just such a cool place to just fall back and chill especially if you have a nice girl with you to hang out with.

    I went to stay a week ago did my check in and started heading up to my room when I mistakenly hit the wrong room. When I came out the elevator I was greeted by a security guard who asked me if I was part of the shelter which I had no clue was there to begin with. Come to find out the first five floors belong to DHS which is the shelter part of the hotel. I ended up leaving because I was not going to be paying the amount I was paying to be staying at a shelter. As a rewards member it was a slap in the face to stay at the hotel and I will never recommend this hotel to anyone ever.

    I've been to way hotel a few times now and I have to say that staff,rooms,service is top notch!! Manager Shad is great! Very helpful and accommodating to our needs!! Breakfast is great, room very spacious!! I would recommend this hotel !!! I'll be back soon for my birthday!!!

    My wife and I stayed at this hotel when we went on a vacation to NY in December. When we arrived into our room (307), the toilet did not flush. I went to the front desk and the gentleman told us he would come up to see what he could do. He came up and noticed the valve for the toilet was off, so he turned it on. About 10 minutes later, after one flush, it started making an extremely loud noise every 20-30 seconds. Before we went out for the night, we let the front desk know again and he said it would be resolved before we got back. When we got back that night, the toilet was still making the loud noise every 20-30 seconds, which made for a very long night of restlessness. The next morning (Thursday), we let the front desk know again that this was happening. They assured us again that the issue would be resolved. When we got back in the late afternoon, it was still going on. I let the front desk know again, and the lady said that it would either be resolved or that they would be able to switch our rooms. Before leaving for the night, I checked in again with the front desk and she told us that we could switch rooms when we got back that night. When we got back, the toilet was still making the loud noise, so we went to the front desk to switch rooms. The two guys who were working said that there were no other rooms available and there was no handy-man on-site to fix the issue. They both came up to our room, separately, and assured us that we would be compensated for this issue and that we needed to talk to the manager, Diana, the following day. They also said they would leave a note letting her know what had been going on. One of the gentlemen decided he was able to turn the valve off so we could at least get some sleep. This caused us to have to use the lobby restroom each time we had to go. The next morning (Friday), before leaving for the day, I spoke to the manager Diana. I was once again assured that it would be put on the top of the list for the service person to fix. When we got back late Friday night, after one flush, the issue kept recurring causing us to lose sleep for the last night. Each time we reported the issue, it seemed like it was the first time each employee had heard about it. There was a different person at the desk almost every time, and nobody seemed to take it seriously at all. When we went to check out, I asked to speak to the manager about being compensated, like one of the staffers had told us we would be. They said the manager was out and they weren't approved to discount any charges. They told me to call or email in and we would get a partial refund. Now I'm sitting here a month later and have not heard anything back. Every time I call, the manager is not in, and I have not received an email reply back. Bottom line, if there is an issue, chances are that it will not be resolved. We have two kids and wanted to get away for a few days and were probably most excited about getting an actual full night's rest, but we weren't even able to get that. Do not stay at this hotel.

    « Best Western has more to offer than this hotel. »

    In the last 3 weeks I have stayed in different hotels from Best Western, and by far this was the most expensive and the worst.The a/c machine was turning on and off for no reasons and even though we tried to shut it down we were not able to do it. We were moved from our original room and the staff was not able to provide a reason, which indicates they were hiding something. And after our first impressions of this hotel, that fact just made it worse. Good thing, it happened the last day.

    This hotel is near the metro. You can be in Time Square in less than 25 min. Also there is a small grocery shop is beside the hotel. The breakfast include with the night at BestWestern (brooklyn) is not good.

    What a nice surprise this hotel was. Lobby staff was professional and quite accommodating, the room was spotless. There is a subway station right outside the front door and a grocery store next door and a store and deli across the street. It was so easy to get to the city and $$'s cheaper than staying in Manhattan. We would stay there again!

    From walking into reception to checking out, our stay here was really pleasant and comfortable. We were greeted at reception by the lovely April, who checked us in, made sure everything was ok, then taught the techno-phobic middle aged couple from England how to operate the air-con, and brought extra blankets for us. The view from our window was fabulous, we were in Brooklyn, but we had the perfect view of lower Manhatten. But April was the real super star of our holiday, her local knowledge was great too. The subway platform was 1 min walk away and 30 mins later we were in Times Sq. This hotel is perfectly located for all the action without being in the thick of the action, so a good night's sleep was pretty much assured.

    « No hospitality or heat here. »

    Preface: I waited more than a week to write this review to give hotel a chance to make this right, but alas they failed. I rarely publicly share bad reviews or bad photos for restaurants as I'm in marketing and I like to give management an opportunity to address concerns as they may not know what happens every day with staff. I give people the benefit of the doubt and don't trash places publicly as a passive way to give feedback. But in this case the hotel management either doesn't care or are deliberately cutting corners and don't want to own up to it. Or both. I also am a Best Western rewards member and I have never had a bad best western experience until now. Also disclosure that I booked this hotel with loyalty points so my post is not at all about $$. It's about how to run a hotel and provide service in the hospitality industry. Ok here goes: The scenario: Saturday night reservation. I call to ask for an early check in (noon) because I know I won't be back till 11pm or later, and am told the hotel is sold out and there is guaranteed check in at 3 but I can bring my bags. I bring my bags around 1pm, dragging them down stairs because the elevator is broken by front door and leave them with desk clerk. I'm a little concerned I'll get a bad room by checking in late and ask about rooms am told a room is assigned to me and it'll be available later. I come back after 11pm and go to my room. It is freezing. (It is and has been below freezing all day) Heat is not on. I figure out how to turn it on and or is set at 95 degrees. I think, hey that's strange, but I wait and see what happens. I'll spare the blow by blow here but bottom line is heat in that room doesn't work and there are no maintenance staff who can fix it. I ask for a new room and I'm told I can have extra blankets. Eventually I learn that the hotel leaves one night staff on for the hotel, so he can't even leave for any length of time to try to fix, there is no one to help, and that many rooms have broken heaters in the winter on an ongoing basis, and that they ran out of extra heaters for the room. I ask to find me another hotel room and after insisting twice that in the winter you can't give someone a room with no heat, I am given a spare room that has no working tv. I say, ok, no working tv is fine as long as the room is heated. (Now 1 1/2 hours after I checked in). The sheets in the room looked as I have in the photo here (bed was made, I pulled sheets down to show how disheveled). The comforter had some disgusting looking stain on it, the bed skirt had a small stain that looked like dried blood. The chair at the desk table didn't adjust so it was set at height for a child. The furniture was scratched. There were odd sparkles of decoration or something on the toilet that I moved to take a better photo. Now I understand I got the dregs of the room because of the alleged ?sold out? and there was nothing I could do or the hotel would try to do to get me in another hotel so I just moved the offending bedding, turned a blind eye to the crappy room and went to sleep. Because, after all, I got this room only for a good night's sleep to be near family since it was a 48 hour trip from a different time zone. Here's where my patience and understand went out the window. In the evening I asked for a late checkout. 1pm. Regular check out is 1130. I was told to call in the morning when I was then told because of the inconveniences I would be given ONE hour, and they are making a special exception because they are sold out. I asked if I could please stay till 1 since I lost a lot of sleep and wanted to get organized, relax, etc. the front desk person said ?You HAVE to work with me. We are already giving you an hour.? She said again they were sold out. There was no moving her, so I hung up and promptly looked on line. The hotel had PLENTY of rooms to reserve that night. I was in a crappy room that they don't even book because no tv and its terrible condition. Her explanation was an outright lie. Plus there was no way they were renting my room. How incredibly petty to not let an inconvenienced customer.... a loyalty one at that... a half hour extra. And then cop and attitude and act put upon. Then I go to breakfast. The waffle machine is broken. Most supplies run out. Not enough people working to keep it clean and stocked. The gym, while clean, did not have a working tv. Or they didn't want it on. So I do what any normal loyal customer would do and I call best western customer service and they were great. But here's the thing, BW is a franchise so it's up to each BW's management to handle complaints. The bw customer service calls hotel and asks to speak with a manager and manager would not speak with them! So CS left message and the hotel never got back to me and took a full week to follow up with CS about the complaint. CS asked that I be refunded all my points for the stay and the hotel said they'd only get half BECAUSE I still stayed there. Yeah I stayed in the broken down dirty room with no tv because the hotel knowingly and regularly rents out rooms that HAVE NO heat and it was the middle of the night and had nowhere to go. I did not get an apology from the hotel, I was nickeled and dimed (well actually ?minuted?) about a late check out, and made to feel like they were doing me a favor. The result is that I am posting photos of the room with this story because it seems to me that this hotel is understaffed and is not spending the money it needs to to maintain it properly. The heat issue is not a one time thing, and they do not disclose this problem. Several areas had items out of order. And they do not know how to treat customers. I actually feel sorry for the desk staff because I have the impression they are given a script and can't deviate from it. This hotel should not be a best western franchise let alone a plus. Whoever the management is is penny wise and pound foolish and you will be taking a risk that you will have a bad experience if you stay here. It would have cost them nothing to let me check out late. And next to nothing to return my points and comp my stay. A truly good hotel would also have offered me a free upgrade for a future paid stay. But they did none of this. The good news is that BW corporate did right by me and agreed to return my points anyway and left a message with a sincere apology. I never heard from the hotel management by email or phone. They conveyed their denial of the points refund to corporate BW. They also never sent me a feedback survey that I get from all other BW stays. So clearly the management doesn't want to know. Yes this is a less expensive option than other BWs and hotels but I suggest staying away from here and support hard working and ethical hotel owners who know what it means to work in the hospitality industry. Support good businesses. Not this one.

    « Great stay and location »

    First off, the staff was excellent and very accommodating. Got there early and they gave me a room immediately. Subway to Manhattan was right across the street. They even printed directions to a store I wanted to get to in Brooklyn. Room was nice and clean. Only thing didn't like were the pillows. They were small square pillows more like throw pillows rather than regular pillows. Were lumpy and uncomfortable. Otherwise, everything and everyone were excellent. Would stay again with better pillows.

    I can't say enough great things about this hotel. My experience here was amazing. Chose this hotel from other reviews and the subway location literally outside the front door. This hotels staff went out of their way to be helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent as well. Many local restaurants to walk to as the front desk recommended two and they were fantastic. The location is prime. You can hop on the subway right outside the front door and be anywhere in 10 minutes. This hotel is definitely a great place to stay and see New York. Thanks Brooklyn Way Hotel for a wonderful experience!

    Shad and April were both amazing and friendly. They were both happy to help out regardless of the request. Cudos to them, they made our stay comfortable and pleasant!! She we return with our kids, we'llbe coming back thanks to their customer service, first and fore most. The rooms themselves are clean and well stocked, the bed and pillows were comfy. Noise levels were as good as it gets in NYC. The hotel is really close to the subway as well.

    Clean and comfy room. Staff was helpful and professional. Tamika was a front desk rude worker. But I won't place her lack thereof on the stay. The breakfast was good there's also DD's across the street if you like the coffee which I do. I've stayed here twice and love the location. Parkslope is my home!! ??Love NY.

    « The Best Little and Impressive Hotel in Brooklyn, New York »

    Upon the arrival of a Delegation of 20 officials from Central America and the Caribbean and four from the U.S. to attend a three day (11/15-11/17)Conference Encounter at Medgar evers College, they stayed at Brooklyn Way Hotel. The delegates arrived at different time during the day and night and were warmly Welcomed and accommodated. They were able to communicate with staff in English and Spanish. They were informed of the amenities available to them. My colleague responsible for exploring hotels in Brooklyn indicated that she was impressed by the fact that this hotel was one of the cleanest, smoke free and and one block from the subway. Everyone felt safe. We want to thank Ms. Usha Singh, Director of Sales who graciously made us feel that she was looking out for our interest. On all three (3) shifts, Shad and the Reception Staffs, were wonderful. They were very attentive and courteous. After breakfast was over, we were able to use the breakfast tables to prepare for our Conference presentation. I felt that Shad became our attentive partner in ensuring the satisfied sense of well being at Brooklyn Way Hotel, and our entire delegation joined me in making this evaluation.     « Great Customer Service!!! »

    My significant, Mr. D Mack who lives in Massachusetts had loss of a family member that lived in NYC and he and his family has had to make several unexpected trips to Brooklyn within the last month. This trip was unexpected and has been additionally hard on his family. He booked a room at a different hotel that was not able to accommodate him and his family. He ended up at the Brooklyn Way Hotel where they were able to accommodate him at a great rate and ample parking for he and his brother that wasn't able to walk long distances. I would like to thank some of the staff that made these trips less cumbersome than they already were. The staff to mention would be Shad, Lu, Tammika, April, Alex and Diana... I hope got the names correct and didn't leave anyone out. Thank you so much for your assistance and the great customer service you showed to them. It is much appreciated.     Thank you Shad at the Brooklyn Way. He got our room confirmed and was very hospitable. I'd like to come back and make this my go to place. Plenty to eat for the complimentary breakfast. There was a sauna on the lower level. No microwave and refrigerator in the room but no big deal for me on this trip. The train on the corner. KFC, Dunkin Donuts and the supermarket all in the same block. Bed comfortable, room size good for 2. Clean bathroom. I like the fact they don't allow pets, I have allergies.

    April, the lovely receptionist, is the predominant reason why I will be recommending this hotel to everyone and anyone who will be staying in the area from this day forward. April took it upon herself to go above and beyond repeatedly; further than any receptionist I have ever experienced. My partner and I had several obstacles that we would have not been able to overcome without her unrelenting desire to assist us any way possible. Thank you, April! You both saved, and made, our weekend!!!!!

    I really loved the trip. Stayed here with my girlfriend, and we had a really fantastic time together. The room was clean and comfortable, the facilities were pristine and worked perfectly, the beds were comfortable and bouncy, the TV worked fine, and we had an amazing time. Would recommend.

    I was unsure when I read other reviews about booking this hotel for my hols to NYC but took a chance. And to be fair to previous reviews :: yes the hotel is right by a subway station, yes supermarket next door is handy, *most* staff were v nice and there is a breakfast it's not fancy but it's there, it's BW clean & functional However as also mentioned Lots of homeless people in the area, it is very out of the way of everything and is too far from Manhattan. And On my first night there was a domestic violence incident a couple of rooms away, 3 hours of screaming & fighting & the woman crying & banging doors. It was so distressing. The cops came at 3am and arrested the man. 7 cops came and there was another 45 minutes of questioning the woman in the hall and police radios etc. I didn't sleep at all. Spoke to the General Manager the following morning (when the cops were back again) and yes words of an apology were given but he was so defensive ( benefit of the doubt was probably having a bad day! ) and he mentioned how he takes "these incidents" v seriously which I think means this was not a once off. And he said that he doesn't discriminate on who he "rents" to ... as the few days went on it became v clear that there are people who live in this hotel so depending on your comfort with that you can make a decision. I was given a $60 discount due to what happened maybe I should have complained more? When I checked out my final bill had the wrong address for me - they had me booked as from Iran?? I live in Ireland. I have my original booking which I did online with my address correct. I called BW customer service to make a small change to the booking prior to arrival so either they made the error or the hotel did either way, it's the little things that matter ... Deeply regretted staying here and it is my last Best Western for sure.

    The hotel itself is average- room furniture is tired, VERY tiny exercise room, typical free breakfast food. But the location to the subway (just outside the hotel) and amazing front desk staff make it worth staying here.

    I've stayed in this hotel for two nights. The position is absolutely good since it's literally next to a subway station (25th street) and you can reach the city center of New York in 30 mins roughly. Around the hotel there's no much to do so you need to get the subway or the car. The room was small but comfortable and very clean, the bathroom very nice as well. This hotel has also a private parking that costs 25$ per night (very expensive in my opinion but it's the only place where you can park your car). I'm not giving 4/5 just cause breakfast was too poor and the quality very low. For the rest is a very nice and comfortable hotel that I would advise.

    I had a family emergency, I had to drive 4 hours to Brooklyn and needed a place that also had a parking lot. Great customer service from Ms. April and Mr. Alex at the front desk. I will come back and stay again soon.

    Stayed here at this best western never again. Found trash while lookingv for a plug for my phone. Also found dirty needles behind the curtain, used. Went to ask the desk clerk and he was rude was going to stay the rest of the week but checked out the next morning was given a refund after I called and told the manger about how I was cussed at and not offered another room. Unless you like that kind of thing do not stay here health dept. Needs to check this place out

    Affordable price that gave wonderful value. Clean rooms, modern architecture, delicious breakfast. I will stay again. Walking distance to the subway. On site parking. I was very surprised that a stay of this value was available in NY. The value was equivalent to a stay in MD. The room was smaller but I was more concerned about the cleanliness and it was clean with clean linens and bathroom.

    Stayed overnight for the New York City Marathon. Same excellent service by front desk personnel as I have received on previous stays at this hotel. Room with queen bed, though a bit small, is comfortable, clean, up-to-date and efficient -- even has a great view of Manhattan from the 9th floor!

    We stayed here for one night prior to a cruise. Close to the Red Hook terminal - not close enough to walk but needed a taxi. Check in was straight forward. Room very small, if we were staying more than one night we would have struggled to store cases. There was a small wardrobe and a set of drawers. The air con was very noisy and we had to turn it off twice as it was so noisy we couldn't sleep. Coffee maker in room. Complementary breakfast was OK. A couple of hot options, and a waffle maker. Plastic plates and cutlery. Small cramped room. Hotel did have free WiFi

    We looked for a hotel close to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal and this hotel fit perfectly. The Terminal was less than 10 minutes away. Prior to our cruise we wanted to spend a couple of days exploring Brooklyn so this location worked very well for us.

    Room had lots if problems. Staff made promises but there was no follow up. Location is really good if you can tolerate everything else. You will be very unhappy if you are used to Marriott level of service.

    « I've found my place to stay when in New York »

    Clean rooms, beds were ok, and the price was very good. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The served a nice free breakfast consisting of eggs, waffles, bacon, sausage, bagels, toast, orange juice and coffee and tea each morning. Subway into Manhattan is literally outside the door and you are able to get to all the sites in Manhattan in about 25 minutes. There is a supermarket next door, donut shop, and two corner bodegas that stay open all night. There is a KFC and a few other stores within a two-minute walk? however no one should be going to New York to eat at a Franchise restaurant? so if you cross the street and walk up to 5th ave the street is lined with store front restaurants, deli's, liquor stores, etc. The place is totally safe to walk day or night so don't let episodes of Law and Order deter you. Anyway, this will be my hotel of choice whenever I return to New York. Oh yeah? of course they have parking also.

    Needed a Hotel in Brooklyn after returning from a cruise into Brooklyn cruise terminal rather than returning to the City for one night. This hotel was a great choice, clean, plenty of room and did the job nicely. must say it's very comfortable and nice friendly staff with my man Shad looking after us. Not much choice around for lunch or dinner and really need to car or a good 25 minute walk. Did like the free hot breakfast included in the package.

    Hotel is very clean and pretty. Beds are comfortable and the price is so good. Breakfast is very good and hotel stuff is very very helpful with everything! ( especially April, she is awesome! ) subway is just in front of the hotel. There is a supermarket next to hotel and there is lots of places to eat on the street. There is a NYPD just 3 bloks away from the hotel so the area is safe.

    We have been to this hotel several times. The service is impeccable from A to Z. The people at the front desk are excellent...always willing to help. The two we interacted with the most were Shad and April. They went out of their way to solve any issues we had (as few as there were). April especially stood out. We tried another hotel our last visit (and independent hotel with not corporate connection) and were sorry we did as it left us ?blue?. This place is the place to stay and you will not regret it.

    We chose this hotel mainly down to price and because the reviews were okay but even before we arrived we were let down when I emailed the hotel asking for car service/limo recommendation for airport pick up and got a really unhelpful response that basically said to just line up for a taxi at the airport. When we arrived, we were really disappointed with the location. There is no where nearby to eat, the street the hotel was on wasn't really appealing to walk around, and we spent most of the time wishing we'd paid the extra $$ to stay in NYC. However, we found the hotel clean. The room was small but we didn't spend much time there. The hotel is very close to the subway although not on a fast line. The inclusive breakfast was serviceable but all the vending machines were broken. However, there was a small supermarket next door which meant that it didn't matter so much that there was nowhere to eat nearby. Fridge in the room and a microwave in the coffee area were very useful. The only place close to the hotel that was worth a visit was Green-Wood Cemetery - it's well worth having a wander around. Some of the staff were super helpful, some less so (April was fantastic) but next time I'd probably stay elsewhere.

    « Filthy hotel and poor housekeeping staff performance »

    Although there might have been a recent upgrade to the general infrastructure, there was definitely no upgrade on staff performance levels and staff attitudes. 1. We were promised an early check-in which was arranged months in advance. We had planned our arrival time earlier as per the agreement. We were only allocated a room after 15:10. 2. Our room was filthy. Previous guests had split coffee grains in the carpet. The coffee was left on the carpet and not cleaned once during our 6 night stay. That means that the carpet was not vacuumed in six days and not even between changes in guests. 3. The cupboard had a thick layer of dust on top of it. 4. We had to call housekeeping every night to ask them to replenish our coffee, sometimes provide towels and to provide basic amenities. 5. The room was tiny. 6 Pillows were uncomfortable and tiny.

    This is our second stay at this BW. True, the rooms are small, but we us them mainly for sleeping. Visiting our daughter and granddaughter, our granddaughter likes to come stat with us. We love the breakfast. There is a subway stop at the end of the block and the desk employees have always been helpful in advising us on use of the trains. The parking is extra, but at least we don''t have to circle the block looking for a spot on the street. All in all this is a great hotel for the price.

    The Brooklyn Way Hotel, the "BW Premier" collection hotel, is a surprising scam of Best Western. The REAL quality is probably basic 'Best Western', not even BW PLUS. While the room was OK (thou very small), the rest was AWKWARD. To reach the reception, you have to take steep stairs. Yes, there are TWO elevators, but their actual workings remain a puzzle. In every case, the WAIT is VERY SIGNIFICANT. The breakfast room in the basement is equally murky. Wi-Fi was questionable.And staff attitudes icy.

    I have visited the Brooklyn Way twice, and have both times found the experience to be top-notch. The customer service is fantastic. The woman who checked me in was named April, and she was warm, gracious, and very helpful. I found the room to be clean and spacious enough for my needs. I found the neighborhood to be surprisingly quiet, given the location. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, and far beyond the usual meager "continental breakfast" offered by most hotels. There is limited parking which must be paid for, but given the tribulations involved in finding parking on the street, I found this to be a worthwhile investment. My only minor quibble would be that the fan in the bathroom didn't work in either of the rooms I stayed in, but that's certainly no deal-breaker for me. Overall, I've been very satisfied with both visits, and will definitely be returning!

    I am currently staying at this disappointing hotel, if you are considering staying here-please do not! The area is desolate and the room furniture is so scratched up, beat up and awful it looks worst than goodwill. For $190 per night this is unacceptable you can do much better for the money spent somewhere else with better service! The management was not at ALL helpful in offering a reasonable solution other than to tell me that eventually the rooms would be renovated and to give me worthless BW Points. Last night and today my room key didn't even work. I will never stay at another Best Western because of this poor experience and their lack of concern and customer service even when I called in and opened a case.

    We had a tiny tiny room on the 9th floor. Most rooms are small by looking at the floor plan. None of the rooms have a view of Manhattan which is directly across the bay. They either face north or south, too bad. Room was very clean though. The reception is located below ground level. There is an elevator to reception. Breakfast is typical BW breakfast, but this one did have hot food, eggs, bacon etc. There are several restaurants within walking distance on 5th Ave, one block away. The hotel is a great location to get to Manhattan. There is a subway entrance is just down the street from the hotel. The entrance to the subway to Manhattan is across the street.

    My family and I were first time visitors to NYC in AUG 2017 and we were apprehensive about places to stay especially because my daughter is 4 years old. We would absolutely stay here again having had a very pleasant experience. Staff members are helpful and polite, breakfast is great and the hotel is at a convenient, safe location. There's a grocery next door, decent grill place opposite, dunkin doughnuts and subway (restaurant) nearby. The subway (train) is practically right outside the hotel and we felt comfortable returning from our city adventures late at night.

    I was in town early September 2017 for about a week, and selected Brooklyn Way Hotel as a cost-effective option to visit both Brooklyn and Manhattan. The hotel is steps away from the subway and the customer service was comparable to better than some higher priced accommodations. The staff was excellent in response and professionalism. The location is okay, in that there isn't much to do directly around the hotel. The lobby is lower than the entrance, which requires a room key to access after late hours. There's a deli, general store and donut shop across the street. However not far from the hotel (around 5th and 26th) there's a cool bakery and that area offers a few more choices for dining. I would recommend Brooklyn Way Hotel for anyone in need of a clean room, caring staff and comfortable stay at a reasonable price.

    Stayed here a few times for business. Very clean and staff is extremely helpful. The rooms are clean and bed is comfortable. Love the 4 square pillows each bed has. Upon going up to the room the front desk places a call to make sure everything is ok with your room.

    Stayed 2 nights mid-August for a wedding. Pleasant staff. Received a call a couple of hours after checking in to see if everything was to our satisfaction also to see if we needed anything. Expanded continental breakfast. Besides typical food they also had fresh cooked scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon as well as fresh batch of oatmeal.

    « What I expected and a little more »

    I would have to say this met my expectations plus a little more. First of all, and this is only a personal preference, I was thrilled the room was NOT chilled to 64º upon entering! For a NY hotel, this room was actually a good size; not to say it was large, but I've stayed in many a NY hotel where you couldn't open the refrigerator if the bathroom door wasn't shut. And yes, this room had a refrigerator. Which worked! In fact, everything worked! The only improvements I could see were minor ones, such as the closet sliding door tracks were broken or missing, and the "wands" used to close the curtains weren't both operable (the curtain could still be manipulated by hand). I did have a room on the ground floor which meant the only window was at 7' high. This may be a drawback to some. Since I was not planning on being in the room during the day, I didn't care. The staff was super friendly and helpful, including prior to the trip when I called a few times with questions. I do wish that an earlier check-in or later check-out were available, but even here- I did show up early and they did accommodate me. So they seem to do what they can. Kudos. Would I stay here again? I'm planning on it.

    This hotel is clean, comfortable and is located 2 mins away from the R train for easy access to Manhattan. I was very pleased with the staff and the included breakfast was absolutely delicious! I would definitely stay here again and will recommend all friends and family to stay here too whenever they visit NYC.

    The hotel was in a good location. It was Sunday so It was quiet. The room was clean and had a refrigerator but had no microwave. The room was smaller than we expected and are accustomed to. Had no need to use the internet on this trip. Parking was $25 per night, more expensive than we expected.

    I was upset my card still got authorized the full amount even though I paid my full stay with a Travel Card. I understand I wasn't charged and it was only an authorization but it was an inconvenience since it holds the money from me. One of the elevator was broken so the other one was really slow. We had to climb up the stairs to the 7th floor. The bed sheets were really rough and looked old. The toilet seats had permanent stains on it, which looked unclean.

    I stayed here for two nights and enjoyed my stay. The receptionist when I first got there was very nice and helpful (unfortunately I do not remember her name) and the other receptionist April is super nice also. There is a guy who I guess is apart of the maintenance team who was really nice (I didn't get his name either but he was really sweet and friendly). They also provided breakfast until i believe 10:30 am, so that came in handy. The location is very convenient also because the sub is right on the corner and I could take the R train to get pretty much anywhere I needed to go. Definitely a good hotel for a quick trip!

    We stayed for 2 nights. Breakfast was better than expected, included scrambled eggs and bacon. The room is rather small which is normal for New York, so no surprise, but very clean and newly renovated. They have tea and coffee machine downstairs and a microwave which you can use 24/7. This hotel is very close to a Subway station and grocery store which was great. Overall good stay. The mattress could be better though..

She made everything easy to make things fast and clear and, after just a few minutes, we were all set and heading to our room. This stay was assigned a closet sized room overlooking parking lot on 4th floor with no refrig or safe. Very international clientele. Two night stay made accommodations acceptable, but not for longer stay. Overall, economical option for short stay in NYC area.

    Very courteous and helpful staff. The room was perfect. Close to subway and attractions. Breakfast was a nice bonus! The Prospect Park Zoo was a nice way to spend the afternoon. I recommend The Bell House for entertainment and drinks. Its about a 20 minute walk from the hotel.

    The hotel staff was super nice, breakfast excellent. Our room was very small but we only needed it for the nights, so it was ok. Parking was right on the premises. Hotel is located right next to the subway! Extremely convenient! There is also a convenience store across the street. He is open 24 hrs. It was great to be able to get some beverages after a long day of sightseeing.

    Our room was VERY small, but clean. The bathroom was a nice size and updated. The subway is just steps away from the front door. Nice view of the city, especially at night. Mylon checked us in and was very friendly. Limited parking right next to the hotel for about $23/night.

    Teeny tiny rooms but if you're not spending a ton of time there, it's fine. Rooms were clean and modern. Front desk and staff were very helpful and accommodating. A convenient parking lot is connected for a fee. R train within steps of front door. Only one negative and that was the free breakfast and coffee. WEAK coffee and the food was below average.

    Everything was perfect for a visit in the Prospect Park area except for the unbelievably noisy air condition. Because of the heat index it turnrd on and off every 10'. It variously sounded like a dump truck unloading gravel or a helicopter outside our window. It definitely interfered with sleep.

    Hotel staff very helpful, the room was average size for a room in New York, bed very comfortable, bath towles were large and soft not the normal hard rough that some hotels use. This hotel is very close to the subway entrance to get into Manhattan and uptown.

    The only staff member that was nice to me was a young man with dreadlocks. They allowed the breaking of security protocol and let someone use the toilet when I wasn't there. Because of this I had trouble sleeping at night. I have cut up my Best Western Rewards card membership after 13 years. I have also advised competing hotel chains in Australia of possible estate takeovers of struggling Best Western properties in Australia. Never again. Brooklyn is promoted as a cool hip place to visit. It's more like Crooklyn the suburb the government forgot.

    I got a room with a king bed on the ninth floor. It was well furnished, Although it was a compact space it worked for me. Free wifi and coffee maker worked fine. It was hard to find enough of a flat surface near an unused outlet in order to plug in the coffee maker. Seemed fairly quiet most of time except for the usual noise in the corridor in the morning. I'll go back as the need arises. A big plus is the subway station (R train) right next to the hotel that takes you directly into the financial district in Manhattan.

    If you're looking for a clean nice place to stay and AMAZING staff please look no further .The Best Western Prospect Park is now The Brooklyn Way Hotel. I've stayed here about 8 times over the last 4 years and I'm still very pleased. Geraldo assisted us during check in and allowed an early check in. They offer free continental breakfast daily and parking in their garage or outside lot next to the hotel for a little under $30 a night after tax. Thank you Brooklyn Way Hotel for your wonderful hospitality, it does not go unnoticed.

    Room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful and the location is steps away from a major subway line which was extremely convenient. Beds were decent, rooms were updated, however, it is small for 4 people. Would suggest 3 or less per room unless you operate well in tight quarters.

    We needed a nice, but cheap hotel in Brooklyn and wondered if such an animal existed. We were pleasantly surprised to find out it does! We were in town for my sister's wedding and the Brooklyn Way was just the right place for us. Here are the highlights of this location: It's either a fairly new construction or it has been completely remodeled, has a parking lot, next to the subway, large dining area for a NY hotel, and a nice breakfast. Upon our early arrival after driving 10 hrs from NC, the staff offered to take our luggage and hold it for us until our room was ready. We decided to get a bite to eat and roam around until then.They gave us a parking pass for our car and told us what train we needed to take to get to our destination. They (the staff) were able to get us into our room a little after 1 pm although check-in wasn't actually until 3pm. They were very accommodating and helpful. We felt very safe in the part of town we were in and were glad to be so close to the subway! I can't say a bad thing about this hotel or the staff at all!

    Friends and family stayed in this hotel for the occasion of a nearby wedding. From securing the block of rooms thru check in and check out, we experienced professional, courteous and caring staff. In particular, Shad, Tamika and April saw that all our needs were met! The hotel is modern and well appointed. A lovely sauna beckoned, but unfortunately, time ran out before we could relax and enjoy. The complementary breakfast is convenient, although ordinary, compared to the dining delights of the neighborhood!

    We used the Hotel as a night stopover prior to boarding the Queen Mary 2 for the East bound transatlantic crossing. Conveniently located for JFK Airport just a $65 taxi ride and $15 to the Cruise terminal. There was a good buffet breakfast (included in accommodation price). Located next to the subway. The room was well presented with large wardrobe and bathroom. Good friendly and very helpful staff and would definitely recommend this hotel.

    We needed a place to stay overnight while in Brooklyn and this was definitely a good choice. The staff was nice and attentive, the facilities were clean and well maintained and the rooms were as expected, clean with no issues, equipment malfunctions. Cannot speak as to an extended stay but would definitely recommend.

    The staff were superior. The rooms were immaculate and our stay was very pleasant. We were there on Memorial Day and the staff insured we got to where we were going. There were 5 of us: 3 adults and 2 children. The prices are so reasonable for NY. Everyone was happy and I highly recommend this little gem in Prospect Park. We will be sure to revisit when the need arises.

    Was very disappointed with this hotel as I expected more from a BW rated Hotel and for the price charged. Our room was small, furniture dark, heavy and every piece badly chipped. Office chair was broken and dirty. The only plus was that the bed was comfortable. Location is not ideal for access to good restaurants and amenities. We cut our week-long stay down to just the one night.

    This was our 2nd stay in this great Hotel and we even got the same room with the view of Manhattan. David and the rest of the crew are very efficient and only too glad to help. Its quite simple ; if you want great value,free breakfast,cheap parking,subway a stones throw away and sample some Brooklyn hospitality then look no further. For half the price of most Manhattan Hotels of similar standard that normally give you less amenities. The Hotel is also spotlessly clean. Beds are super comfy and if you fancy dinner in your room after a long day in the city then local Pizza joints etc will be happy to deliver right to your room. Cant see us staying anywhere else and wish we were going back soon.

    I have stayed at this hotel twice once in May 2016 and again in May 2017. I was sufficiently impressed in 2016 to stay again in 2017, I doubt I will go back again. Unfortunately standards seem to have fallen. On the plus side the hotel is located opposite the Subway and the trip into mid-town takes about 40 mins. The hotel is also in a good location for exploring Brooklyn. The WiFi was also fast. Last time I stayed I found the staff to be friendly, helpful and engaging. This time I found them to be surely and generally disinterested. This was notable on check in and when I walked through the reception area I said good morning and was ignored. The hotel provides a basic but nonetheless acceptable breakfast. The area in which breakfasts is serve has changed sine my last visit and the extra space is a significant improvement on the previous location. Unfortunately, I found that many items such as milk, bread and fruit ran out and were not replaced. No one seemed to be clearing up so the area wasn't that pleasant to sit in. The common parts of the hotel could do with a renovation. As others have observed the furniture in my room was chipped and generally battered. There was also lots dust on many of the surfaces and the clearing seemed to be superficial. There was also a musty smell in my room. The curtains in my room also were too small and didn't fully cover the window. Someone had dropped some food in the hallway near my room and this wasn't cleared up for several days. My room was also not serviced on my last day at the hotel. To a certain extant the price makes up for some of the hotels shortcomings, but next time I will be looking for something a bit better.

    Having stayed at many Best Western hotels we are aware that the standard can vary greatly but as this was our first stay at a 'premier' property we were really looking forward to it. Now I have no idea what criteria Best Western use to grade their hotels but we have certainly stayed in others with a lesser grading that have been far superior to this hotel. It seems that most of the hotels in New York have small rooms but ours was miniscule - I think I've put bigger postage stamps on an envelope. There was minimal storage/hanging space and nowhere to put suitcases so they were forever in our way. I have to agree with a previous review by michaelhF445GS that the furniture looked like it had been picked up cheaply in a flea-market or car-boot sale - ours was dated and very badly scuffed. Our bed sagged in the middle and the small pillows weren't particularly comfortable. One of the lights in our room didn't work and the television had a mind of it's own and wouldn't turn on or off at all with the remote control. The furniture the television was on was covered in a thick layer of dust and clearly hadn't been wiped clean for some time. On the subject of cleanliness, there was some debris on the carpet outside our room when we arrived that was still there three days later - draw your own conclusion. The shower worked well and it was nice to have a night light in the bathroom but there was no safe in the room and no bar on the premises to get a drink. Breakfast was reasonable if somewhat limited but was supposed to start at 6.30am. We had an early start one day but no hot food arrived until 6.45am so we missed out. We arrived slightly early and were told no rooms were available just at that time which is fair enough. We were advised to sit in the small lobby area as one would be available very soon - an hour and a quarter later we were still sitting there and discovered that the reception staff had changed but no-one had bothered to tell the new staff member that we were there still waiting and that rooms were now available for us. On another occasion we were dealt with by a receptionist who was busy chewing gum and rolling it around on the outside of their lips in full display - discourteous and not at all professional. The subway is very close but a lot of steps if mobility is an issue. Cross the road for local Manhattan-bound trains or stay on the hotel side and get off at the next station and cross the line for the express train to Manhattan. This may sound morbid but if you do have an hour or so do consider a walk in the nearby Greenwood cemetery. It is a massive place complete with two large lakes to walk around - look for turtles basking on the rocks near the shoreline. A very quiet, peaceful place amid the hubbub of New York. Overall, I really could not recommend this hotel and we regret choosing it for our stay.

    Rooms were small, but it looked nice doors slam easy so think about your neighbors a bit. Refrigerators in most rooms but not all. There is a small grocery store next door and a Dunkin donuts across the street. If do not make down to lobby you get breakfast in time in the morning these are options.

    When we arrived early in the morning, we were informed that the rooms were ready. What a pleasant surprise indeed. We were in New York for the bike ride and the hotel stored our bikes for us. The free breakfast is better then some other hotels. They served hot scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. The rooms and bed is very comfortable. The subway entrance is only steps away. It seemed like it's in a safe area of Brooklyn. I would definitely stay here again.

    Bathroom fan, radio and heating not working. Dresser not fit for a flea market sale. Stayed in Brooklyn to save on the ridiculous Manhattan hotel prices but deeply regretted that decision because: - rooms very small albeit that's a typical comment for most area hotels; - general area can only be described (generously) as scruffy; - subway, while close, had no escalator/elevator (we had an infirm member in our party). Indeed this was the case for most subway stations; - roughly 40 minutes to get to downtown Manhattan via subway; - cost of transport to/from airport higher than if going to Manhattan.

    « A good budget choice for NYC trip »

    It was our second time in New York City so we decided to stay outside of Manhattan. Brooklyn is a great place to stay and the hotel we found was next to a metro station. The area is quite, not so many restaurants around but there is a supermarket right next to the hotel. A couple of station away there are some supermarkets and e.g. Target. Our room was clean and big enough for both of us. AC didn't always work which was not so ideal since we stayed at the hotel during end of November. Otherwise the hotel was really quiet, the traffic didn't disturb and we were taken good care of during our whole stay. Unfortunately the gym was under construction during our stay (a must for booking our room) but it was not mentioned in the internet that the gym was under construction. Breakfast was ok but fruit and healthy options were more an exception than rule. Waffelmaschine, coffee, tea, juices, white bread, some sweet pastry, butter, jam and cereals were served everyday. No changes in the menu. One day there were some apples and on the other bananas. I also happened to find unsweetened oatmeal in small packages, big plus! At the time breakfast was served with paper plates and plastic utensils. We knew this before hand so we were not surprised. After 5-6 days I personally would have wanted some fresh options.

    I have never visited any hotel that has a more welcoming and helpful group of staff. I've really enjoyed my time here. The bed is comfortable, the bath is great, they have a business centre and the subway to Manhattan is directly across the road. Thanks everyone for a really enjoyable stay.     My university roommates and I stayed at the BW Brooklyn Way Hotel on our trip to NYC back in March. The hotel is right on the subway line which made it very convenient for us to get around/ in and out of the city. The guestroom, while small (we are talking about New York here), was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed to for our weekend away. Guest Services were very friendly (thanks Alex!), knowledgeable, and helpful with orientating three Canadians around the city and their neighbourhood. Speaking of the hotels neighbourhood - the location of the hotel was perfect for us. There was a grocery store two doors door, subway stop just outside the front doors, close to bakeries (Tin Cup Cafe and Baked in Brooklyn!), short walk to Prospect Park. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and I would definitely return book it again on my next visit to the area.

    Wound up staying here since the hotel in Queens I had stayed at last tip was unavailable during the dates I was traveling this time. Had a great view from the room looking out over the NYC skyline, and could see the Statue of Liberty from the nearest side street. Quite a few good food locations nearby, as well as a supermarket right next door. The R Local train has a station on the same block as the hotel, making travel fairly easy.

    The main downside is how small it is, but it is NYC after all. The rooms are clean, they give you room and amenity information up front, and if you're on the north side of the building you have a very nice view of Manhattan. The beds are a little too firm for me. For anyone that thinks like me and my boyfriend, the "Plus Entrance" is the entrance, not something for members.

    A bit pricey for the quality but overall not a bad place to stay. The staff were accommodating. The breakfast was ok. If you ate after 9 am there wasn't much to choose from. Not enough room to sit and eat. Ice machine wasn't working on our floor. Door card didn't work but they fixed it timely. Pillows are too small. Overall not too bad.

    After a one night disastrous Airbnb, we booked this hotel on short notice. I was mainly going by price and it had the best rates, but the stay was great. Breakfast was good (it's a hotel, not a 4 star restaurant, but compared to others, it was way above the norm) and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice as well.

    We had booked online and had paid full. Still they took a security deposit of 50 dollars during our check in. The room was very small with hardly any place to walk around the bed, leave alone to keep a suitcase. Breakfast food quality is not good at all. To top this, the staff at the front desk are too rude. We decided to check out two days early ... the place is so bad. The final straw was when the lady at the front desk Lulu refused to give us a receipt. And neither did they give back our security deposit of 50 dollars. Don't go by the good reviews and stay away from this place will be my advice.

    I stayed for 4 nights and was lucky to have a room with a view of Manhattan! The room itself was small, but cozy and clean. The air unit in the room was quite loud, and the noise from the hallway was also quite loud, though I was probably the only one who was there for work over a weekend! However, noise from outside the hotel was not a problem. The location is right next to a subway stop so this made it easy to get around Brooklyn and Manhattan. The staff was wonderful! Everyone was friendly and helpful and I got a lot of needed information from them to help make my stay even better. The morning breakfast was convenient. There is one store nearby and the room had a refrigerator. Overall nice place and I would recommend to others as a no-frills (unless you get that nice view) reasonably priced hotel.

    I used UA miles to book a room at this hotel due to the heat wave New York had in August 2016. Maybe because I was not paying directly to the hotel I was not moved from assigned room 208, which faces a wall (although not in front of my nose), to a higher floor as was done on July 25, 2016 when I paid dearly for a room. By the way, high or low, the rooms are very, very, very small. I was not even allowed to take a look at room 208 either. Gia, from the front desk, said that is not allowed (?). At Millennium Hilton I was allowed to take a look at a room; Hilton Manhattan East allowed it also; so did Home2 Suites, LIC. Ah, but those are Hilton hotels. The air conditioner worked well and the mattress and one-half pillows were comfortable. Breakfast is good and room and bathroom were clean but I was very disappointed.

    I spent one night at this Brooklyn location. My check in went well and the front desk clerk was great; however, and as I walked up to the front desk to proceed with my check out, the front desk clerk looked at me and my husband and said, is there anyone left in the room. This is not how I expected to be greeted. I stated no and she took my room keys and asked if I needed a receipt. There was no smile, asking me how was my stay, or letting me know there was continental breakfast. I was appalled at her lack of professionalism and as a new award member, I am concerned and will not return to this location. I travel often for work and I spend significant amount of time in New York, but thanks to this staff person this location will not receive anymore of my time or money.

    4 females visiting New York for 50th birthday celebrations. We had booked one room but on arrival we decided to book another room as they were too small for 4 people plus luggage!! After moving to another room everything was fine. Staff were friendly, helpful & knowledgeable, free wi fi, the hotel offers a breakfast which is not 5 * standards but is more than adequate, quiet location but the subway is literally out the front of the hotel. Good value for money hotel, would recommend and would stay here again.

    This hotel is good for the cost and access to Manhattan and Brooklyn area. The subway entrance was right outside the hotel which made for easy access to and from Manhattan and Brooklyn itself; which, we enjoyed having never visited that area. The restaurants around the hotel (on 5th) were worthy. There is a grocery store next to the hotel if you need anything. The Greenwood Cemetery is right on 5th - so lovely to explore. The room was okay - nothing fancy nor shabby - pretty standard. The breakfast was okay and it gets one going until you reach your destination where you can grab whatever you need.There is also coffee / hot water pot in room so that was beneficial. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Would consider staying again for sure.

    Over all this is a good hotel for the money and with that said it has easy access to Manhattan. Close to the subway and uber ride isn't to bad. Over the service was ok. One serious issue that I had was that the fire detector in my room was not even there. The chances of s fire a slim but my issue is that what if there is one and I die in my sleep from smoke inhalation. I've stayed there a lot in the past but that scared me a little. They did actually move my room higher and put us on the side of the hotel were you could see pretty good view of Manhattan. Overall I will stay again next time I'm in NYC.

    The Best Western Plus Prospect Park is a hidden gem, great value. The rooms are very clean and well appointed-mini fridge, hair dryer, and a sanitized remote control! Traveling into NYC is a breeze--the R train is steps from hotel. The front desk staff patiently assisted me with train, bus, taxi information/schedules. The neighborhood is quite, easy to walk around-visit Baked in Brooklyn bread company, stroll thru the beautiful grounds at Green-Wood cemetery. Often with busy travelers, hotels blur together. What makes this hotel unique is the staff....very friendly, accommodating, and informed about Brooklyn and NYC.

    Nice hotel less than 1 minute from the 25th street subway station with easy access to Atlantic Center and downtown Manhattan. . The rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable but wish they provided full size pillows. We were in room 405 and had a good city view. The dining room is very tiny and the hot breakfast was average but not great. The staff were efficient and friendly but not very accommodating. We wanted a late check out but was denied even though we were aware the hotel was not fully booked we was prepared to pay extra.

    Clean comfortable rooms and the chance to catch breath after a stressful trip over the Pond. Ok its not the best location in the world, but the subway is right outside the door so you can go anywhere. The breakfast is basic but plentyful, though the plastic kfs and paper plates arent great and the limited space to sit was also an issue that will hopefully change with the refurb advertised in the lobby and I have to acknowledge that previously we've been spoiled with a great diner across the street from the hotel. There is a C mart next door so you can get any bits you desperately need. Staff were helpful and I did kinda feel guilty when we dropped off our left luggage because of all the bags the lass on the desk had to shift to fit ours in (sorry again). For a budget overnighter in NYC it was spot on.

    We really appreciated the front desk staff, especially Judy. When we needed directions or restaurant suggestions she was so eager to help us and whether it was how to get somewhere or where to eat she hit the nail on the head. And, never once did she act as though it was a bother to help us. She seemed to enjoy helping us have a trouble free stay in the NYC area.

Staff at this hotel are extremely helpful for anything from restaurant suggestions to directions. We were super satisfied with this hotel. The front desk staff, esp. Judy, made our plans go smoothly.     Hubby and I just back today from a 7 day stay here, in summary great stay at a great hotel. Initially we booked a hotel near Central Park and then realised how much money we were saving by booking here. Read many mixed reviews and all I can say is some people are too fussy. We stayed in room 608 and had views out over Manhattan skyline. Room had 2 very big beds in it and complementary toiletries. Coffee machine supplied but there was usually coffee in breakfast room. Fridge was a real bonus for keeping water chilled which we picked up from supermarket next door. Room was kept clean by great housekeeping staff. Furniture a bit tired but reading reviews I believe it is due for an update. Complementary breakfast was more than adequate to start your day, hotel we stayed in last year always ran out very early. So handy for train, on doorstep, R train which takes you straight to Manhattan. We explored lots of Brooklyn, even went to Coney Island. Greenwood cemetery should be on your to do list, Brooklyn botanic gardens and Brooklyn museum. Shopping at Fulton Mall is good value but go during the day. Turkish restaurant next door is great and we believe a trip to Monsignors is good too....ask reception staff. Head up 25 street on to 5th avenue and try pastries at Baked in Brooklyn. Think that just about covers it, or have I forgotten anyone........of course I have....front desk staff were so helpful especially Mylon and Judy....they paid us to mention them. Thanks guys for a great stay in a great hotel. PS. Just remembered....there are 2 computers and a printer for guests which allowed us to print out our tickets Forgot to say, so much quieter from street noise aspect compared to Broadway where we stayed last year.

    We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel!!! The subway R line towards queens takes approximately 40 minutes to Times Square, a bit long time but the sub worked perfectly. If you got time left to spend, the go to the Greenwood cemetery it is so beautiful.

    last minute need to stay in NYC for next day flight from LeGuardia, and this was perfect. Subway stop right outside the building with easy access into Manhatten. 50 min driver ride to LeGuardia for around $60, hotel is clean, staff are way more friendly and helpful than someone from NYC should be expected to be. Rooms are modern, clean, quiet and functional. I will be back.

    Paid $300.00 to stay in a basement of a hotel, feel very claustrophobic, room was small. Asked the front desk if I can change my room to a different room, got a very rude response. Worse customer service I ever got. Can not believe this hotel got a 4 star hotel; its more like a 1 star hotel. Carpet was dirty and furniture has excessive wear and tear.

    The Best Western Prospect Park is a fairly new facility. The rooms are cozy but comfortably sized. The entire facility was clean and well maintained. All of the staff we met were friendly, helpful and efficient. . The parking is split about equally between a street level lot and a garage around the corner under the hotel. I would probably want to be in a group of at least 2 when parking in the garage as it seems isolated. About 15 of the approximately 50 parking spots were available when we returned at approximately 11:30 pm. We were there over a Saturday night in mid-August. The breakfast area was tight and busy as was the overflow room. The breakfast was good. It included waffles (one iron), scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages and other standard items. We used our car but the ?R? subway station is on the block allowing easy access to the city. We would definitely consider this property when staying in Brooklyn again.

    I found a room at the Best Western for the Labor Day Weekend after planning last minute. This was the closest hotel I could find with availability in close proximity in Brooklyn for the Caribbean Day Parade. The hotel is located in the Prospect Park area of Brooklyn. From my view the area is quiet with not much going on. It is located right off of 278, a major route throughout Brooklyn. There is a grocery store next door to the hotel, with access to the 25th street train station which is convenient. For people not familiar with the transit system though, beware that in order to get the train to 25th Street off the 4th Avenue train, must take the "R" in order to get dropped off at the 25th street stop. If you take the "N" you will be let off on 36th street and will have to walk back. Now because myself and my friends had no intention of sleeping, because we were there to party, it was not a big deal. I read other reviews prior to my booking that stated the rooms were small, and that is an understatement. The pictures on the website do not show the real size and give it any justice. With a double bed room, there is not much room to move around. The space between the bed and furniture is maybe a foot; very tight. The bathroom is okay, but noticed the sink filled with water just to brush your teeth. The furniture had dents and chips in it, could use an upgrade. The pictures on the website are not accurate with the rooms and lobby. There is parking at the facility, with additional parking underground around the corner, that they fail to tell you unless you ask because the parking lot right next to the hotel is full. I was told that parking was $18 at check-in, but my final bill stated $24.83 ($22.50 plus tax). I did appreciate the front desk allowing me to get my full 24 hours worth by leaving my vehicle in the lot after check out to attend the festival. If you know New York, parking is tight and you are better off taking the train. There are ice machines only on 2 floors of the hotel. The breakfast offered is okay. They offer a waffle machine to make yourself some waffles, liquid eggs, bacon and sausage in a pan, coffee, juice, toast and muffins. If you prefer you can also go to Dunkin Donuts which is right across the street. In addition beware of charges added to your card. I booked my reservation on booking.com and was not told that they hold an additional $50 on your card when you check in. In my case I was charged twice for my room, and had a pending charge for 4 days after leaving. Contacted the hotel and not given much help in correcting the transaction that was pending. Ultimately had to contact my bank to clear the pending charge. Overall when I am in Brooklyn again I don't think I will stay at that particular hotel, unless it's my only option. The space is too small for the price paid and having to deal with bad accounting practices.

    We were coming in from upstate to visit our son in Park Slope. From booking to check out was no muss no fuss. The staff was so professional and very helpful. Our room with a king size bed was immaculate and the view from the 9th floor was beautiful. There are grocery stores less than a block away; as is the subway. My son lives a few blocks away, and the walk was enjoyable. We will always stay at Best Western Plus!

    I was pleased with the hotel. The room was clean, and the view of Manhattan from my window was beautiful. Paid parking for only $25 a night. Subway right next to the hotel and 20 min ride to downtown. Breakfast was nice. The only thing I didn't like is that room does not have good sound isolation. Some loud people came in at 3 AM and woke me up.

    We booked this hotel because it was recommended by TripAdvisor. When we go there, the machine that made keys was broken, so for our entire stay the staff was having to escort customers to their rooms and let them in. This would've been just a nuisance, if they weren't also ambivalent to the inconvenience. Staff would have us go wait by our door and then arrive a few minutes later, after trying to pawn off the task on the housekeeping or maintenance staff. Adding to this was the fact that the TV was broken, the furniture was beat up, the room was tiny, and our view taken up by a giant generator. We could also hear people arguing in the halls through the thin doors. Also worth mentioning was that the "continental breakfast" was some Grade D prison fare. This all would've been excusable if the hotel was close to stuff, but somehow we found this hotel is the only place in New York City which is close to zero things. 0/10 would not recommend.

    Chose this hotel for a recent nyc visit based on trip advisor reviews, and very glad I did! Convenient location, on site parking, and subway stop right outside the door! Friendly and helpful staff, especially evening clerk Rachel who suggested restaurants nearby. Rooms are comfortable, if a little small, but that's a city hotel. Breakfast adequate with a meeting room available for overflow. Half size pillows were ok size wise but could have been firmer. Spacious, clean bathroom. Although 6 yrs old, hotel is starting to show some wear and tear.....breakfast room cabinets, cabinets in the room, and some floors. Overall, I would recommend and would definitely stay here again!

    The hotel gave us a wedding block deal of $150/night with $18/day parking. The rooms were super clean, and the folks at the front desk were super helpful and pleasant. $22 cab to boathouse from here. Easy subway ride. Cool Peruvian bar on the same block of 4th.

    This hotel was absolutely perfect. The employees all always had smiles on their faces and seemed to legitimately enjoy their work. The location of the hotel may seem a bit scary at first but just a few blocks away from the hotel are tons of restaurants, pubs and little boutique shops. The train is right outside of the entrance of the hotel and is a direct line to Manhattan taking only about 20 minutes. Breakfast had ton of variety and the breakfast attendant Ashley was such a delight. I had the pleasure of speaking with the GM Peter Reyes before I left and was so glad I did. You could really tell that he puts his heart and soul into his hotel to make sure quality and service are number 1. Thanks Mr. Reyes. Will definitely be back!

    The staff is very courteous. The lobby and breakfast area are located in the cellar so there are no windows. Was assigned room 209 but asked for a high floor and got room 906. It has a beautiful Manhattan view. Room very clean throughout; comfortable bed and "one-half" pillows which I found very convenient; coffee in the room and real milk; two elevators which during my stay were running fast; breakfast area small but with enough food to please all; bathroom very clean although the bathtub is slippery - so watch out (no handrails either). Subway (R line) right next to hotel.

    I had a very nice stay at this hotel, after driving my son cross country to his new home in Brooklyn. I slept like a dog. Sheets, soap, towels, shampoo all high end items. Hotel was clean and bed for comfortable. For New York area, $100 for a night was very reasonable. Found plenty off good food nearby: Turkish, Chinese, KFC, Deli and Italian. I felt safe walking the neighborhood after dark. Mixed economic and cultural neighborhood, where I am co for table. Subway nearby.

Having a grocery store and a couple of restaurants immediately nearby was awesome. Prospect Park is nearby--be sure to check it out!

    You don't get what you pay for. Service is really poor. Breakfast is low cost and no space to seat. You are not welcome here ! The only plus is the location just next to the Metro station. But I'm sure you can't get better value in Brooklyn.

    We stayed for a couple of nights during a weeks visit to New York. I thought it might be fun to try Brooklyn as I had read good things about the regeneration and expected to find some fun places to visit and eat whilst also using the nearby subway to head into Manhattan. Well the subway worked out well, but the locality had absolutely nothing to offer. The only real dining options within a reasonable walk of the hotel are fast food outlets and the odd middle eastern restaurant / take out. Anyway we did find the hotel quite adequate. The rooms are small but the air con worked ok (it was 90 outside). Their was a complimentary breakfast of sorts. They had hot eggs, sausage and you could make waffle's but the small breakfast area gets very crowded so not really a highlight of the stay. Think Days Inn sort of quality and you won't be far off the truth here. A final word on Brooklyn. We did go to the Botanical Gardens which are beautiful and we also walked through the Brooklyn Heights area and it looks much more promising so if we come again we will try and stay in that area rather than 4th avenue location of Best Western.

    Definitely pleased with this place. Would absolutely stay here again. Less than a block from the subway. Worst thing is that the elevators are a little slow, and the layout is a bit odd. The bed was very comfortable, and the internet is nothing to sneeze at. Delicious breakfast too.

    I've stayed at this hotel twice now with my husband and two kids, and would definitely stay again. It's a great location in Brooklyn, with easy access to downtown Brooklyn and Manhattan. The subway station is right in front of the hotel (R line). There is on site parking (for a reasonable fee) for those with cars. The rooms are a bit small, but very clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Another plus was that breakfast was available until 10:30 am (for those late sleepers). If you are able to get a room on one of the upper floors facing Manhattan, the view is spectacular!

    Stayed while moving Daughter into an apartment in Brooklyn . It was a nice clean Hotel and Everyone was helpful and polite. Room was very clean . Reservation was easy to make . I would recommend to anyone who wants a reasonable place to stay that is clean and has parking Exercise facility and Continental Breakfast are a plus. Free Internet close to everything.

    Stayed for 4 nights and had a great experience. Located close to transit and close to Manhattan. On-site secure parking was a big plus for us. Hotel staff was very nice and quick to respond when we needed a new hair dryer or a new remote. Rooms are very clean but somewhat on the small side. Not a problem for two people since we were out most of a day but may be a squeeze for families. Special thank you to David at the Front Desk who helped us with parking and other info. We would stay here again in a New York minute!!

    Very close to the subway 'R'. It is quiet location, which totally different from Manhattan. There is grocery stores and supermarkets near the hotel. Surrounded by Subway, Donut, BR31, and KFC. Room and public space is quite old, but clean. Restroom has just be renovated, so it is new. Breakfast is expectable, but there are bit enough seats for guests. Staffs are friendly. From hotel to airport, better take taxi. Hotel can provide taxi service with fee. Travel with big luggage by subway is not easy cause so many stations don't have elevator.

    This Brooklyn hotel is conveniently located just steps away from the R subway train, and a short walk to the historic Green-Wood Cemetery. I thoroughly enjoyed walking in the area, and scouting out the numerous nearby restaurants. Though my room was small, it was very clean and comfortable. The included wi-fi and hot & cold breakfast were much appreciated. My ninth floor view of the Manhattan skyline was magnificent.

    We chose to stay in Brooklyn so that we could experience the city life and differences to New York City. It only took us 10 minutes on the underground rail to get to the hear of NY. The hotel was clean, had a good breakfast and great staff who were happy to help with transport arrangements and other information. We took a ferry back to Brooklyn and walked to the hotel which was a great experience and we saw a lot more of the local life and culture. You need at least 45 minutes to do that though.

    I want to acknowledge the really caring staff this hotel has. I am eternally grateful to the woman (too bad I did not get her name) to the woman in the breakfast room who came up to me when I was coughing choking on a piece of fruit, she was so genuinely caring and concerned, and that's amazing. Check-in was pretty quick. They emphasized several times that I was parking at my own risk in the adjacent parking area overnight ($24.83 per day, including tax), so much so that I had to ask about statistics. It turned out to be just fine. My room on the eighth floor looked out over a very unremarkable view of Brooklyn. The room itself was smaller than expected, and felt squeezed in and crowded by furniture. Oddly, it did not have a luggage rack. The room and bathroom were clean. The bed sheets looked tired and worn. The bed was on the harder side, but fine. However, the pillows were absurd - tiny, square, and hard. I have no idea in which universe these are acceptable pillows. The Wi-Fi worked very well in the room. The greatest part about this hotel's location is its proximity to subway, which can easily whisk you to Manhattan. But then bear in mind that this easily takes 40-45 minutes each way. So, if you are visiting New York to be in Manhattan, that's easily 1.5 hours lost out of your day, that's time that you could have spent walking and exploring Manhattan. Also, remember that if you take the R train to Manhattan from across the street, if coming back at a late hour, you will have to take the N train back to the hotel. The neighborhood that the hotel is in felt safe, but it is very unremarkable, it is not one of the charming brownstone sections of Brooklyn. There is a funeral home right across from the hotel, and a cemetery a block away. It's quite a hall to walk to an area of restaurants, and there were no remarkable restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. There is a supermarket next door, and a Dunkin Donuts across the street. Overall, the neighborhood appeared to be a mix of Latino and Muslim establishments. The breakfast has some choices, but it's pretty limited, the most basic of basic West Western fare. The seating is very limited, there were only 4-5 small tables. This was a last-minute booking for me, and worked out fine for its purpose. But, given the choice, this would not be be my top option for visiting New York.

Clean room, well lighted bathroom w everything you need, dryer, tissues, cups. Breakfast was kool with an automatic pancake making machine. Nice surprise. Helpful and friendly staff.     Check in and arrival very smooth. Our room was clean and kept clean for our 5 day stay. Easy commute to Coney Island, 9/11 memorial etc. Subway and grocery store only steps from front door. Great local restaurants close to hotel. We took full advantage of the breakfast served each morning, which included hot eggs, bacon, sausage along with all the other carbs. We drove to hotel and found ample parking on site. The cost of which was about $25. a day, which we felt was worth the convenience. We found it safe to walk about the neighborhood, even at night, only good experiences. We bought ice cream at the Baskin Robbins/ Dunkin Donuts at 10pm which is located just across the street. Only take away was that the room was small. All other experiences were very positive and would recommend it highly. We enjoyed our stay there, the staff was awesome and would stay again.

    After reading reviews of this hotel in Brooklyn I wasn't sure what to expect but I was traveling with my 2 Daughters for a concert in NYC and needed something just for overnight. It was within our price range ( $200-250- Daughter was paying for the room) and near where were going to be. Overall the room was OK. Very small interior but 2 good size double beds just for the 3 of us and comfortable but the sheets were scratchy and thin. The small square pillows were there as described by other reviewers. I have no idea why they do that. We brought our own assuming this would be the case and glad we did. Small bathroom but decent and clean Air conditioning worked fine and was soft and gentle sounding. It was also a quiet room up on the 4th floor. With the air on we couldn't hear hardly any traffic on the streets except once where we heard a car horn. The hotel itself was very quiet too which is always a concern. The subway is literally just across the street for two different lines as well. I parked by the side of the building which seemed OK but I was a little worried there wasn't more of a protected area ( and bigger) since I have a high end vehicle but my car was fine in the morning. They charge extra to park there. I never felt unsafe but I've been in NYC and Brooklyn before. The breakfast was as described by some others, a very tiny room that cannot accommodate many people and it was a zoo so we skipped breakfast and went elsewhere. I will say the staff we had weren't all that friendly but not overly rude either. They just seemed bothered by us even being there checking in. I can deal with that by ignoring it for one night. This is definitely not a 5 star place. I've been in many fancier hotels but it served it's purpose.

    For NYC this hotel in Brooklyn is very nice for the price. We got the queen room which was clean but tiny. No place to sit but the bed. The subway is right out front which we used along with cabs. Traffic is terrible so the subway is probably faster. The front desk staff was very helpful with directions and maps. The front desk with get you transport to the airport. They don't say so on their site but they will set up pick up at the airport . The breakfast bar had hot food but it does get crowded.

    This is a very popular hotel for families who are traveling to see loved ones, and also for tour groups. Works just fine for business guests or others who are just passing through for a couple of days. The very best bonuses for this hotel is the parking on the property with underground overflow. Also there is a very decent grocery store next door that will have everything that you need for your stay. Good fast food choices in walking distance, and subway access right outside the door. Good location but not too busy or rundown like some of the other properties in the city. The staff were all very kind, gracious, and helpful. Rooms clean and no complaints. This is a good place to stay and recommend!

    We stayed here for 1 week in May (second time), the hotel is situated close to the subway for quick travel to Manhattan centre, very secure hotel and incredible staff that really do go the extra mile for you. We would recommend this hotel for anyone! The room was extremely clean, the area is nice and quiet and the air conditioning is a life saver in those hot summer months! Breakfast is tasty a wide selection of everything and all you can eat which my belly appreciates. We will keep coming back! Peter.

    All in all, a very pleasant stay. The hotel is located within a few hundred feet of the R train subway, direct 20 min. ride to Manhattan. If you are depending on the subway, just keep in mind that NYC does its track maintenance on weekends, so you might find train schedules are heavily modified, and some trains may not run at all on weekends. We found the R train schedule had changed on the inbound side so for one day (Sunday) we had to walk one stop on the Manhattan-bound side. But that was just for that one day otherwise very reliable and comprehensive service. I gave the hotel location 4 stars only because the neighborhood itself is a little down at the heel. Actually, quite typical for many Brooklyn neighborhoods. But we never felt unsafe and the subway is only steps from the hotel. Our room was spotless, a little on the cramped side but that did not matter since we basically only crashed there at night. The staff is super friendly and helpful. When I needed to amend my original reservation to include a refrigerator in the room it was cheerfully handled on the phone. Most importantly, because of a family emergency we had to cut short our stay. When I spoke to the staff to find out my options their first response was "How can we help?" and promptly modified our reservation to allow us to return home early. Much appreciated! Our room on the 9th floor had a nice view to the Verrazano Bridge in the distance. I don't know if rooms on the other side of the building might have a view to the Brooklyn Bridge, but it might be worth asking when making a reservation. Breakfast is a hearty buffet of eggs, bacon/sausage plus bagels and pastries and fresh fruit. Building is secure at night via card access, and the parking lot was sizable enough for parking our Tacoma (apparently there is and underground option which we didn't use). Parking was $22 per night. Just a note if you are driving... Because of our emergency we left the hotel for home around 4:45 a.m., and found the driving through greater New York City to be a lot more manageable than the nightmare we experienced when we arrived mid-afternoon two days before, when we were stuck in traffic for hours trying to get to the hotel. Leaving that early we found ourselves on 95 North in no time.

    The rooms here are small, but I understand that is normal for a New York City hotel. However, the staff was very efficient and helpful. We had a wedding to attend in Prospect Park and the staff gave us good directions. The breakfast was adequate and the fitness room was large with machines for cardio and weightlifting. There is also on-site parking.This hotel was surprisingly good for a city hotel.

    We booked this hotel based on other reviews on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. Subway is only a few minutes away and extremely easy to navigate to explore New York. Staff are helpful and friendly and a basic breakfast is included in the price. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Much cheaper than staying in Manhatten particularly when you are spending most of your time exploring and little time in accommodation.

    My son and I, we spent 7 days in this hotel. The beds comfortable, may be it's time to buy new sheets. the breakfast was good. 30 minutes to South MANHATTAN, but the subway is in the corner. our bedroom was small, the beds big and good pillows. The bathroom clean enough,good towels. the housekeeping didn't clean the carpet every day. Falling piece of cookies stayed along the day in the floor.

    Several shipmates attending a 25th USCG Desert Storm Reunion stayed at the Best Western Prospect Park. Mr. Peter Reyes and his staff welcomed us with the highest hospitality imaginable. Our rooms were impeccably clean, the desk staff were warm and extremely helpful. When we called for directions from Penn Station, we were directed to use the subway. And, our stop was less than 100 feet from the front door. Mr. Reyes quoted us a very reasonable rate for the rooms. And, he went the extra mile by giving us a military discount. Additionally, he provided a room for one our members to give a VA presentation regarding veteran benefits. Several members of Mr. Reyes staff went well beyond what we would have reasonably expected. They are: Alex ( well done ), Caitlin ( thank you for getting us settled), Irene ( thank you for your PR skills), Judy ( thank you for coordinating our transportation) and Rachel (thank you for your beaming smile and calm presence when we contacted you by phone). All of this reflects Mr. Reyes' skill sets in maintaining a focused team effort. A spectacular service offered by Best Western Prospect Park is transportation proved by Explorer Car Service VIP. It was far more reasonable than cab service. And, under the watchful eye of Mr. Izzy Garlarza, we were sure to be at out appointed destinations ON TIME. Again, Bravo Zulu to all who made our reunion stay in NYC/Brooklyn a very memorable time.

    Stayed here for the first night of our trip before staying in Manhattan as it was closer to JFK. Clean room with a nice layout if a little small. Decent breakfast although again the breakfast room is on the small side. A subway station is located directly outside making it a great location for traveling into Manhattan in 20ish minutes.

    Stayed at this hotel for 6 nights, we were on the 10th floor and had great views of Brooklyn and Manhattan. The R train that goes directly to Manhattan was a few steps from the hotel, we were still nervous about the subways but the staff gave us a map and printed out exactly where we needed to go. everyone at this hotel is so helpful, polite and caring.

    We have stayed at the Best Western Plus on several occasions for visiting family in the area. There are a lot of pluses for this hotel: it is well designed- the rooms are quiet and noise from other rooms is not heard- this is an important plus for light sleepers. Many hotels I have stayed in have thin walls and I can hear the TV or conversation from other rooms. Even the outside noise is muffled well. The rooms are upgraded with up-to-date plumbing. The toilet is a TOTO- and water efficient. The shower pressure is quite good, and the shower is easy to use. There is a workable fan. The bathrooms are a good size. The downstairs restrooms also have water free toilets- environmentally a plus. One caveat: there was no bathmat in the tub. I slipped in the tub taking a shower. This never happens to me- fortunately I'm in good shape. Visitors with mobility or joint issues should request a bat mat for the tub. There are bars on the side and in the front of the tub but it didn't help. Management please note: this is a necessity for every room. The lighting in the rooms is very good although not very bright. The black out shades actually work. Unusual in most hotels. The heating and AC work well from a thermostat. The night light in the bathroom works well so even though the room is dark, no need for a flashlight if one needs to get up at night. One doesn't have to turn on the bathroom light at night. The beds are a little on the firm side- and may be new. I slept well, better than in most hotels where the bedding is not always comfortable. There is a parking lot. Sometimes it is full so the staff will work out alternative parking. A real plus: visitors can check out and leave their luggage and pick it up at the end of the day. Quite convenient. The breakfast is good. Good enough so one doesn't have to go out wasting time looking for a place to eat breakfast. The coffee was quite good. Otherwise, standard hotel breakfast fare. The downstairs health club is clean and has a Sauna which I didn't use. The staff is great. Very accommodating and friendly. In general a reasonable well-built hotel. It's not in an interesting area, so one either drives or takes the subway to their destination.

    This was my first time to New York, so had no idea where to really stay... This hotel was nicely located in Brooklyn with 25th Street subway just outside so easy access into Downtown brooklyn, Coney Island, and Manhattan. Staff friendly and accomodating. One thing I was not aware of was space - room was 'small' did have 2 queens size beds, but felt a wee closed in; this however is the norm for NYC. We had been at another (La Qunita on 3rd Ave and 13 th street) which was a shoe box - very tiny. Best Western was a tad bigger. BEWARE of Jupiter car service across the road. They offered $US38 to the airport, however the driver stopped before JFK on the freeway and demanded payment, then his card scanner didn't work (!!!?) so insisted on cash - I had none so he tried to drive me to a bank rather than the airport. I had some Australian dollars to get me out of the situation but had to give him $US 65.

    Stayed just one night, but the hotel was clean, well situated, and staff was very pleasant and helpful. The only problem I had was the security was not what it should be. You walk into a small area with open stairway going down to reception desk, and one elevator that takes you to the same downstairs area. However, this elevator can also take you up to the hotel rooms. No card slot, just free access. Once you get down to the reception area, this elevator is no longer accessible and there is a second internal building only elevator. At first, I assumed that the first elevator could not access the upper floors, but on further inspection it seems it can and does. Something it seems the hotel could and should correct.

    The hotel was clean and staff were pleasant. Train station is right outside the door however, service is reduced on weekends. I thought the hotel was closer to Prospect Park. Overall, it was a comfortable stay.

    Room is tight but very clean, staff were very friendly. Not a lot to do right in that area but easy access to Manhattan. Will have to explore the area more next time. The exercise room looked great. Breakfast was a great variety for everyone.

    The room at the hotel was a little small for my liking but was more than made up by its decent views, and well appointed furniture and comfortable shower area. But I also want to bring to attention some very efficient staff who made my check-in/check-out process seamless. What was noteworthy however was the manner in which the hotel staff corrected an honest mistake. A wrong bag was handed to me from the storage area when I came to collect my bag a few hours after my check-out. The uncanny similarity it bore to my bag foxed me too and I did not realize until I was about check-in at the airline counter. And I was certain that the shuttle service I had used had mixed up by bags when I was getting off. I had my bag deposited at the airline terminal's lost and found. In the meanwhile I headed to my my next destination - Seattle. While on the flight, I jogged through the entire sequence of events in my mind, it occurred to me that the miss might have happened at the hotel itself. I called the hotel as soon as I landed and was informed that there had indeed been a mixup. The hotel not only owned up the error graciously but also promised to ship the luggage to me before my final departure back to India. And they delivered on their promise. While it was a difficult few days until the bag reached me, I am most grateful to the staff and the management who ensured that the correct bag reached me. Three cheers to the service levels at this hotel!

A short drive to Brooklyn Hts and Brooklyn Art Museum. We felt very comfortable and safe there. Free wifi but difficult to gain access.

    My wife and I stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were very pleased with the room on the 10th floor that has a king bed and a great view over the surroundings. From the hotel we walked to and along 5th Avenue into the heart of Park Slope. It was fun to walk by all the funky coffee shops, boutiques and restaurants on both sides of the street, as well as to see the Statue of Liberty in the distance. The subway stop is at the corner of 4th Avenue, a few steps from the hotel,, so it was easy to take the subway to Manhattan. Breakfast is included and we enjoyed the waffles, yogurt, cereals and other items that were provided.     At check in the front desk was really nice they gave me a room on the high floor as i requested and they gave me an early check in however this should not be a room but a small storage. i felt like i was suffocating!! very small room with the furnitures almost on top of each other. i stayed at the room with one queen size bed.

    We selected this hotel based on Tripadvisor traveler ratings and its convenience to the subway and we were not disappointed by our experience. It is a compact little hotel only a few steps from the subway line -- Barclays Center is only 4 stops north, and Coney Island area only about 8 stops south. You can also easily get into Manhattan. Room was standard "NYC compact size" but clean and very comfortable. Decent internet. Service was very friendly. Parking available (for a reasonable fee). Only thing that would improve it is some restaurants in the immediate area (but there is a grocery store and Dunkin Donuts on the nearby corner). We will not hesitate to use this hotel again when coming to Brooklyn,

    Room with a window facing the street was a little noisy. That would not mind one or two nights. But for eight nights was too much. I did not assume but the reception should know. The hotel is near the subway to Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo.

    Overall I had a satisfactory experience. Two issues though: 1. The lobby entrance, right after you enter the hotel from the street, was filled with plastic bags, fast food boxes and other trash, and dust. When I informed the front desk about this problem, they said "we can't do much, its windy, and when visitors open the door, it all flies in from the street." I do understand that, but at least some effort should be put to clean up that place. 2. There is not much place for the breakfast. 3-5 tables, I believe, and when the whole hotel comes down to have breakfast most of them eats in the lobby and in other places they can find. It might be useful to find some solution to this.

    The 5 dots here have to be taken in context. For the cost, location, staff and amenities this hotel deserves the rating. It is a fantastic option for a trip to NYC without paying Manhattan prices. There is a subway station (25th/4th Av) 50 steps away from the front door (cross the street for the R train to Manhattan - about 20 mins journey). I gladly sat on the train for 20 mins in order to save about $40/night over Manhattan prices for similar properties. We also walked home from the 36th St subway station (The R Train was delayed so we took the N) at about 10pm one night and got home safely without indecent (but like in any big city keep your wits about you). Staff were friendly and answered any questions we had, and kept our luggage on our last day so we could visit Coney Island before our flight in the evening. Breakfast choices were eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, waffles, various pastries, fruit, yogurt, bagels, tea and coffee. The room was small but functional (it is New York after all) but it was clean and the bed was comfy. WiFi was as fast as I've experienced at a hotel and the bathroom was nice with complimentary toiletries and good hot water pressure. Can't comment on the sauna or gym as we didn't use it. There is a supermarket next to the hotel, a laundromat 2 properties down the street and a deli or Dunkin Donuts across the street. The room was lacking a safe which was the biggest disappointment and you may struggle for space if you have larger suitcases - we had smaller ones and they had to live on the window sill. If we were ever in NYC again we'd certainly stay here and I'd recommend it if anyone asked me where to stay in/near the city.

    We were in Brooklyn to visit friends for Easter. This hotel was the perfect choice. It was close to our friends' house in Brooklyn and very close to a subway station. So it was convenient to go to Manhattan. We took the N train directly to Times Square. The receptionist gave us a very useful subway map. The parking at the hotel was 25$ only (it is a bargain based on Manhattan parking rates). Friendly staff. The room was clean and modern. Free wifi. Breakfast was included. Waffles, bagels and also eggs and bacon.

    We picked this hotel because we knew it would be less expensive than staying in Manhattan, and didn't mind the subway commute. We were pleased from start to (almost) finish. We arrived early and were able to get our room before 11 a.m., which was great. The furnishings were new and everything was clean. The reception personnel were very polite and helpful. The subway stop was literally steps outside the door. The neighborhood felt safe, however coming back late at night, I was surprised how empty the street was, and was glad the subway stop was so close. The breakfast was adequate although crowded and there was not always a table to eat at. My only complaint was that when we asked for the desk personnel to call a cab for us to return to the airport, we got a car service, rather than a taxi. At that point we did not have time to wait for another cab, and the car service cost $55 to La Guardia, compared to the $40 we paid for the same trip from the airport by cab. Otherwise, if you don't mind a 30 minute subway ride, it was well worth the money we saved over a more expensive hotel. Be sure to walk to the Green-Wood Cemetery only a few blocks away, and climb the hills for an amazing view of the Manhattan skyline.

    This hotel attracts tourists and others visiting Brooklyn and Manhattan. It's a block from the subway (but be careful which side of the street you enter the subway -- if you go down the wrong stairs, you'll head away from Manhattan instead of toward Manhattan). Expedia helped us get a great price. You walk in, take steps or elevator down a floor to the front desk. Near that are 2 breakfast rooms. No fresh fruit, but eggs, bacon, sausage, breads, pastries, make your own waffles, coffee, water, juice. Room was fine -- hotel was quiet. Staff was nice. There is a pay hotel lot, but we had little trouble parking around the corner. Some may think the neighborhood doesn't feel safe, but it really is just fine. It's a working class neighborhood, but you can walk a few blocks and find nice, affordable restaurants. This will be our go-to place whenever we're in Brooklyn.

    We spent five nights here. The hotel is not noisy, it is very clean and comfortable. The room we had was in excellent condition. A free continental breakfast is served each day with the usual cereal assortment, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, yogurt and pastries. Free coffee is available all the time as well as in your room. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is right at a subway entrance for the R line which goes into Manhattan (about a 25 min ride to NY City Hall)located next to a grocery store and very close to a deli, and take out Turkish and a Peruvian restaurant. Excellent restaurants are located in Park Slope, about a 15 minute walk or a very short cab ride. Would definitely stay here again.

BW rewards and other programs paid much of our stay, but even at full price staying here in Brooklyn is an excellent option. The single bed rooms are small and do not have a fridge, so if this is important, get the 2 bed room.

    Location on 4th Ave is fine. This is not Manhattan, but plenty of cool spots within walking distance of this hotel. Compared with the options we could find in this part of Brooklyn, the hotel was fine. Plenty of parking (at extra cost of $25). Nice clean, fresh smelling, large enough room (2 double beds) with nice view of the City (8th floor). Staff pleasant and capable. Included good basic breakfast provided scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurts, cereals, juices, fruits, breads and plenty of typical spreads and toppings. Bathroom sink didn't drain properly. We spent only one night, so didn't ask them to fix it. At departure, it was clear they would jump on it. This is no Marriott. Walls kind of thin, but we weren't bothered by occasional sound in the hall. Next visit to Windsor Terrace/Sunset Park area, we will probably look for something less expensive, but to be sure of a pleasant experience, we would recommend this hotel.

Steps from subway, relatively short trip to Manhattan, limited breakfast seating so pot luck in getting table, $25/day parking fee a little much for location so add that to quoted room charge. 45 minute walk to Barclays.     We stayed at this hotel for one weekend. It's not right along the park, but it's reasonably priced and the room was fine. The room was clean and had a mini-fridge and wifi. We had a king or a queen. The bed was comfortable, but what's the deal with all the mini-pillows in hotels lately? There was noise from the hall that could easily be heard in the room. The lobby was pleasant. I'm not usually fussy about hotel free breakfasts, but this was really pretty bad - the eggs were awful, and the choices were pretty limited, though you could get cereal and waffles (but my husband says skip that berry stuff for the waffles). There is a grocery store nearby. Parking in the hotel lot was $22 a night but the side street was free. The hotel is near the subway, but make sure you use the right entrance to the subway to head in the direction you want. Green-Wood cemetery is a block away. Worth the walk to see both the historic cemetery and its famous green parrots.

    We stayed here for a week. We got a room with a nice view but because we had a small child with us, we needed a crib. But there was no space for the crib in that room. The staff arranged right away bigger room at the basement. It was a very big room only the view was bad. But you cannot have all. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. The general manager which was his office next to breakfast room couldn't even say goodmorning! The breakfast rooms are a little small but the breakfast was great! Very close to the MTR and in 20 minutes in Manhattan. We would go there again!

    I stayed there for 11 nights. My room had a great view on Manhattan, I was on the 8th floor. Very comfortable bed and very clean bathtub with a minifridge and flat screen tv with cable channels. The room was great, you will sleep well. It is a very clean BW. The breakfast is included in the rate and it was basic but good and the coffee is available day and night which is great when you are there for work. I had a great stay. The staff is nice and polite.

    Help staff was great about answering any questions we had and in arranging early morning ride to JFK with a car service. The breakfast has variety enough for all diets and the computers in the lobby were an added bonus. Best of all was the sauna! Call front desk and allow 20 minutes for the room to warm up. Delightful!

    Nice clean space for an NYC hotel. The staff is friendly and having two elevators is a major plus for rush hour times. I travel 300 days a year and stayed here about 100 of them last year. Great location as well. Less than a 2 minute walk to the R train which will connect with all the other trains needed.

    This hotel is located in the Green Wood section of Brooklyn. It is a good alternative to paying Manhattan hotel prices. Hot breakfast and off street parking were included in the reasonable hotel rate. Disadvantage is the distance to mid town Manhattan. It is about a 40 minute subway ride. However, the train stop is on the corner so it is very convenient. Other disadvantages were the very small room and the walk to a good restaurant. There were plenty of quick eat places near the hotel but for a pleasant sit down dinner, you have a 10 to 15 minute walk.

    This is the 2nd time we have stayed at BW Plus Prospect Park. The staff are always very professional and courteous. The breakfast is pretty great for a hotel. Easy subway access and plenty of places to eat within walking distance. This is the only hotel in Brooklyn my family and I will stay at. My husband is from Brooklyn and extremely picky...this is his favorite place to stay.

    Having stayed in NYC and Brooklyn quite a bit, we were still looking for our limited budget "go to" hotel. I think we found it. First, the room was very small, but it had a wardrobe and drawers which fit all of our stuff. We really only used it to sleep, so it was fine. I called 2 weeks before and requested a room with a view, and was told it was not guaranteed but they would try when we checked in. We were early, and were greeted by a delightful young lady who assured me a room with a view was booked for me, but it wasn't ready. We were told we could certainly leave our car in the paid lot ($22), and we could check back in later which was what I expected. Since there are in and out privileges, we drove to a couple of spots in Brooklyn we wanted to hit, and when we got back to the hotel at 1:30, our room was ready! We checked out the room on the tenth floor, admired the Manhattan view, and took the subway right across the street into Manhattan. The people there were all very polite, friendly, and efficient. The room was clean and the tv remote was even in a sanitized bag! The view at night was great, there were no annoying sounds to speak of, and the bed was comfy. Also, the elevators were quick- even from the 10th floor. Breakfast was bacon, sausage, eggs, cereal, juice. coffee, yogurt, pastries and make your own waffle with whipped cream and strawberry sauce. Perfectly fine and very well attended to so that nothing ran out. We did not use them, but there is a small workout room on the bottom floor with a full locker room, and dry and wet sauna. In summary, the low price, the cleanliness, friendly staff, breakfast, and the subway so close, made this an almost perfect stay. If only the parking were free but you can't have everything. It is still a great value.

    Be careful with your credit cards if you stay here. During my actual stay, I had a major issue. Besides general rudeness from the man checking me in, he twice forgot to give me my credit card back. The first time when I was checking in, I noticed, waited for him to give me my card back and finally had to ask him for it. He barely apologized as he gave it back. Due to having two reservations, I had to check out and check back in, and when I checked back in, he did the same exact thing. This time, I did not notice. I received a phone call an hour later, asking me to come pick up my credit card. One time is an accident, twice is a problem. It could be an honest mistake, but I'm not willing to take that chance. I have had to call my bank, cancel that card and request a new one. Overall, the hotel was nice. It was in a good location and the rooms were an adequate size for New York City area hotels. However, due to the extremely poor service, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

We drove from New England, so we just parked our car at their parking lot and went on and around with subway, which station was right outside. Free continental breakfast was nice and the staff there were all very helpful. We stayed on the 10th floor with a great view of Manhattan. Our room was small but clean and had a fridge. Location was not ideal for us but I was happy with my experience at this hotel.

    My experience at the hotel was a very positive one. The staff were incredible. They were friendly and extremely helpful. The understood my issue and did their best to accomodate all my needs. The room was nicely decorated, but I was surprised by how small it was. This was my first time in New York at a hotel and I was told that most New York hotels are small, so I can't hold this against the establishment.

    I had to recently stay Brooklyn, NY, and the Best Western saved me. I can not usually park my moving truck at any hotels in the city, due to its size. The front desk staff, allowed me to park in front of the hotel, and informing any police that I was a guest; They are very caring and customer service orientated.

    Sadly I had not had time to review this wonderful hotel sooner however my memories of my pleasant stay have not yet faded! I visited this hotel for my second time since 2011 this August 2015. All staff were welcoming and friendly and the hotel was very clean. The room was great and the hotel had managed to fulfill my room request which was really good. This was the first time my girl friend had visited the US and I wanted her to have a good view of the city. The hotel did not disappoint, and I was very grateful for their efforts as I am sure that August can be a busy period for them. This hotel is in a great location if you want to easily get in and out of the city. A 7 day Subway pass is all you need. Unfortunately, I did not get the names of any of the approachable and helpful staff there. There was a heatwave when we stayed here, however the AC worked very well, and when we came back, the room was just perfect in terms of temperature. House keeping staff would come round quite early. If you wanted them to come back later, simply put the provided sign on your door. They were very accommodating. My only complaint was that the WiFi speeds were very slow, but seeing as we were not there that much, it didn't make much difference for us. On our last day, we asked if it might be possible that the hotel could print our boarding passes as we didn't seem to have our return ones. They couldn't have been more helpful. Can't wait to stay again, hopefully very soon!

    « WOW-What a place, what a Manager! »

    We left the Wyndham (terrible place) and arrived at the Best Western. The manager happened to be there behind the desk when we were checking in. My wife told him the story of how we "HATED" the Wyndham (just around the corner) and had wanted to at the Best Western but the days we wanted were double the Wyndham prices. She also told about the lack of parking at the Wyndham and how we got two tickets (two cars) for $45.00 each. He immediately said we can make you/stay better. He had us cancel the other days at the Wyndham, he booked us for that days at his hotel for way less then his normal pricing and less than the Wyndham. Then he gave us free parking for each car for 3 days @ normal price of $25/day - total gift of $150 bucks to help cover our fines..I cannot say how courteous he and everyone else was.     Fresh cookies and a personalized memo were very nice touches to a comfortable room. The front desk staff was knowledgable and friendly, there is a supermarket in close proximity, and parking is available (for a fee). My room was comfortable but the heating/AC was exceptionally noisy. As I believe that parking should be free for residents, I would still recommend this property when staying in Park Slope, Brooklyn. The overall value is worth it.

    We visited NYC the weekend before Christmas. We chose this hotel because we had friends in Brooklyn and the rates were affordable. We usually do not stay at Best Westerns, but were thoroughly impressed by the hotel. Breakfast and WIFI were included, the rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is on the same corner as a subway station, so we did not have to move our car during the entire trip. We found free street parking a few streets away from the hotel, but the hotel also has a private lot for parking. We felt safe in the area and there is nothing I would change about the trip. We will definitely stay at this hotel when we return to NYC.

    I loved our stay at this hotel. The staff was very professional, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast (while not the best food) was still good, with a variety of items, and a great way to start the day. Since I'm from a large city the neighborhood didn't bother me much and there's a grocery store on the corner that was great for anything I might have forgotten to bring or any other little things I might have wanted.

    In trying to figure a place to stay in Brooklyn Close to Transportation but away from the craziness I came across the Best Western Prospect Park. Reasonable rates, ample parking and the Subway was right outside the door. the grocery store was great next door, picked up my needs and had them for the few days I was there. Highly recommended. The staff is incredible and seem to really care, the Manager Peter was great he was very informative and helped me out getting around, so I can see why the staff is the way they are

    My son and I stayed at the Best Western Prospect Park over the weekend. The staff were very pleasant and friendly and the hotel was very clean. The hotel is located in a decent neighborhood with stores and other amenities nearby. The R train is just outside the front door and Greenwood cemetery is only 2 blocks away. Greenwood is an awesome place for a relaxing walk! The room was clean with comfortable beds. The breakfast was more than adequate. The price for this hotel is quite reasonable! If you are looking for a place in Brooklyn and don't absolutely have to be downtown, then I would highly recommend this location.

    The hotel was in a great location if you want to visit the city. The R train is right at the corner and only a few stops from the Barkley Center. Dunkin Doughnuts across the street, C-Town grocery store at the corner and a 24 hour deli. Hotel was clean and the hot breakfast was good.

    Nice little hotel! Very clean and staff was so friendly! Good neighborhood, we parked on the street and walked to a local pizza shop at night without feeling nervous or concerned. Would stay there again. Just wish they had a hot tub instead of sauna.

    We stayed her 11 nights with party of 6 adults (2 rooms) during the holiday season (Christmas and New Year) and liked it very much. The metro is very close which is great, grocery store and some other shops are close. The staff was very nice and breakfast was very good. Rooms are clear and beds are very good. Yes the rooms are not big but who cares if you are in New York. We stayed 2 years ago in a hotel in Manhattan and expected to travel more by metro now but actually that was not the case and we would definitely pick this hotel again with our next stay.

    Hotel is good value for the money. Rooms are tiny (walk sideways) but that's the way it is in NYC. Room and bath were spotless; furnished with a desk and fridge too. WiFi works great. Large parking lot with in/out privileges that you pay for. Grocery right next door. So is subway. Breakfast is outstanding with warms eggs and BACON and sausage all the time. EZ access to wherever you want to go.

    When I was planning our new York trip I always wanted to stay in Brooklyn because it was so much cheaper and it had good transport links to Manhattan. On arrival the staff were most helpful and we were able to park our rental car in the hotel car park whilst we went to our room and left our luggage there before we returned the car to the rental location at JFK , you do not need a car in New York. The subway station for Manhattan is only 40 yards from the hotel, i recommend buying the 7 day pass. The free breakfast is of a very good standard although it can get a bit busy. The rooms are modern and well equipped and cleaned every day in all thjis is an ideal hotel for a New York visit.

    When we arrived, the front desk lady was rude and not helpful. Once we got to the rooms, they were fairly clean but we're very small and too warm. There were also fees for parking that they were not clear about on the website and over the phone. Sketchy neighborhood and nothing to recommend.

    Stayed one night for business trip. The property is clean and personnel helpful. They have no luggage stands so the bed or floor are your choices. I stayed on the first floor and the shower had a constant water hammer as well as the rooms adjacent to me so plumbing has an issue. There was minor vibration from the "R" train running below but not abnormal for most similar NYC locations. The neighborhood is safe and lots of good restaurants within walking distance. I'd stay here again for any uptown Brooklyn function.

    I am a local but needed a place to stay nearby for a family function. The hotel was okay but nothing special. I had a king sized room. It was a fairly small room with a nice bathroom. Room was clean. The pillows on the bed are very tiny. I called down and asked for 3 more so that it would be a normal sleeping experience - but they use throw pillows as their pillows. The breakfast was good. They would not give me a late checkout but otherwise staff was friendly and helpful. I thought the price makes sense for NY but considering it's a good hour out from midtown Manhattan and comparable to Manhattan hotel prices, I am not quite sure why tourists stay here. Only reason I did was for the location near my family function. Brooklyn is starting to become a bigger attraction, but the hotel is border of Gowanus and Sunset Park - it's not really a happening area. But when Brooklyn does become more of an attraction, this hotel will need a serious facelift. Overall, the hotel is OK.

    We checked into the hotel right after a minor car accident. Clearly shaken when we approached the front desk, our hostess asked us if we were all right, do we need any help, and told us we were safe now. Her calm and caring demeanor was just what we needed after a stressful Thanksgiving evening mishap. I'm so thankful this hotel is close to our daughter's apartment! This Virginia family will be back!

I felt completely safe walking the area day and night. Only a few blocks walk from fun, trendy bars and restaurants in Park Slope area, I would stay here again without hesitation.

    Best Western Prospect Park is a good hotel. The room is small but sufficient and the bath room is very good. The room is clean and the breakfast is good to start the day with: scrambled eggs and bacon, yoghurt, cereals, waffle maker, a few sweet choices, bagels with cream cheese, coffee, tea and juice. The lady who was responsible for the breakfast was very friendly and helpful. Minus were the view of our room (a road), sound of our neighbors, the neighborhood was nothing special. You have to take the subway for almost everything. But.... the subway is very close to the hotel that is really nice!

    We were in Brooklyn for Joseph Prince's Grace revolution tour at the Barclays center the hotel is in a perfect location. Coming in from the Verazzano Narrows Bridge is the best way to get to the hotel. Subway: 4 stops from the BW to Barclays center. The Hotel is reasonably priced for NYC. Having parking available on premises was fantastic. You would spend more money staying in a cheaper hotel in "Jersey" and commuting in to the city than staying here. We felt completely safe while we were in Brooklyn. Brooklyn residents are very helpful and friendly. We will be back. Keep up the good work...We recommend this place very high.     Rooms are small but well-designed with a small desk, a reasonable number of electrical outlets, good closet and drawer space, acceptable lighting, bedside tables on both sides of the bed, comfortable bed (not plush, but okay). Some rooms have refrigerators; if you need one, be sure to ask in advance. Bathrooms are small but functional, with moderate vanity space and good shower. Cleanliness is acceptable ? not spotless, but okay. Breakfast (hot and cold items ? the usual fare) is served 6:30 to 10:30 am every morning, longer hours than many similar hotels, and the two small breakfast rooms were never over-crowded. Elevators are efficient. Parking is available in an open lot, adjacent to the hotel, for an extra fee. There seem to be ample spaces at all times. The neighborhood, which runs along 4th Avenue, at first glance seems rather grim and gritty; it's a mix of small industrial buildings, discount stores, funeral parlors, check cashing stores, and inelegant residential properties, with a number of inexpensive casual ethnic restaurants (not as many good choices here as on 5th avenue 10 or 20 blocks south, going toward downtown). However, we felt safe at all times and had no trouble walking day and night throughout the area. The Green-Wood cemetery is one block away and makes for a fascinating and spectacular walk during daylight hours. Despite the hotel's name, it is not really in the Prospect Park area; the hotel is a 30-minute walk from the famous greenspace. One excellent feature: the R Subway Line, which takes you into Manhattan, is a few steps from the hotel's front door. And, there is a very good grocery store right next door with a generous deli counter, fresh fruit, and other basic provisions. In summary: if you want to be in one of the trendy sections of Brooklyn, with tree-lined streets, cute restaurants, attractive late-night bars, and interesting shops, the Best Western Prospect Park is probably not the place for you. However, you can probably save money by staying at the BW Prospect Park, you'll be safe and comfortable, and you can hop on the subway and be in lower Manhattan in 20 minutes. You can also drive to other parts of Brooklyn with relative ease. Ask for a room with views of Manhattan - a real plus.

    I was very pleased with the cleanliness and attractive rooms. The staff were outstanding and could not have been more helpful or friendly. The breakfast was good with make your own waffles, otherwise, just the routine hotel breakfast. . I liked having the coffee available 24 hours. The bed was a little small for a queen size, but it was very comfortable.

    This is a great hotel due to it's location and with the subway being right outside the hotel im glad that I chose this hotel. I had a problem with a blocked toilet on the first day and the staff did fix it on the next day Fair enough the breakfast area is a bit small, the rooms were a little bit on the small side and felt a bit cramped but I think that is a valid point for the 4 out of 5 score on here The staff were very friendly and gave out a lot of good information, they even helped me out when I broke my foot, the young lady with glasses and Chinese (I hope I've not offended you) was very good and she showed me a lot of concern when I broke my foot there, the assistant manager (who was dressed up like the mad hatter on Halloween) was very nice and always asked me how I was. They all helped me out when I suffered my broken foot injury there.

    While nothing is perfect the staff at the hotel did their best to make it seem to be. The room was comfortable and clean. The room was maintained every day. Like all well used hotels there were some things that need to be fixed but not an inconvenience for a reasonable person. Access to subway is very close. A small market next door. Dunkin Donuts across the street. Especially noteworthy is the breakfast provided. All the basics....coffee, juices, eggs, sausage, bacon and waffles. Additionally there is muffins and croissants. Staff was very help and accomidating with our tourist questions.

    Our second visit to NY and we decided to get out of the hustle and bustle of Times Square and stay in Brooklyn. At $139 per night + taxes it was also a great price. Conveniently located next to a grocery store, subway stop and Dunkin' Donuts, you have everything close by. The hotel is small, staff very friendly and free continental breakfast a nice touch. The bacon and eggs were not great but what can one expect. There are many other selections like make your own waffle, cereal, toast, bagels, fresh pastries, good coffee etc. The rooms are small, typical of NYC but very well appointed and clean. Good water pressure in the shower, comfortable bed. There is no restaurant on site but there is a pizza place that will provide room service. We didn't use it though. The hotel itself was very quiet and we were lucky enough to get a view of Manhattan from the 8th floor. The WiFi generally worked well. There is an express subway that runs to Manhattan which is about a 20 min. ride. You can catch that train one stop away at 36th St. Otherwise it takes about 45min. We found that restaurants in the area close early, around 10pm so if you're used to Times Square hours this will definitely be a change.

    The hotel was very nice, right across the street there is a train station that you can use to get everywhere. The staff was very nice, parking was convenient for me (extra $23 but worth it) the room was clean, the bed was confortable. No issues with the TV or the AA, nice view from my room. Easy and fast check in (3pm) easy and fast check out... I did not had the continental breakfast for lack of time but it look good. Overall a great experience.

    My husband and I were in Brooklyn for our daughter's wedding and needed a place for not only us, but our extended family and friends to stay that was near Prospect Park Boat House. The hotel was a perfect location for all. We had a shuttle bus and limo's to get the family and guest to and from the hotel. During the day of the wedding, guest walked along the Avenue - stopped for lunch - picked up coffee at Dunkin Donuts across the street, others picked up a Subway Sandwich.

    I've stayed in a few hotels in the past couple of months and this hotel surprised me. Everything was great with the hotel clean rooms, breakfast was good (free) and the staff made us feel right at home. We came in for Halloween weekend and the staff were all dressed up in costumes handing out candy to local kids which was a first for me to see but I loved it. I've never seen a hotel so down to earth and "not all about business" which made me not mind the money i spent. If they keep this up I'll stay here for every Holiday to see what they come up next.     I have been avoiding Best Western because of past experiences. I was surprised to find that this hotel in Brooklyn surpassed my expectations and even brought a smile to my face! I had a wonderful view of the city from my room that I enjoyed all night. While my room was very small (queen bed only) it was remodeled and clean. The size of the room is what I expect when traveling in Europe - not the USA. But if you are ok with small, the location and price was right.

    Helpful staff, tiny room but everything you could need for an economic stay in Brooklyn. Breakfast was a bonus and better choice than we expected. Location good for metro but mainly fast food outlets locally rather than better dining options. Supermarket next door which had a good selection of food and drinks.Despite the position of the hotel on 4th the room was quiet and we were not disturbed. Ask for a higher room if this is important. Wi Fi worked well.Altogether a clean and functional hotel.

    Loved our stay in this hotel. The location is great-at the tip of Brooklyn overlooking Manhattan, near beautiful Prospect Park, Park Slope and Brooklyn Heights, and a short subway ride or drive across the Brooklyn Bridge. Ample on site parking. Fantastic staff who do all they can to make your stay comfortable and pleasurable. Breakfast buffet with hot food and delicious bakery pastries included. Homey atmosphere. Beds are super comfortable with quality cotton linens. Will come back every time we are in New York.

    The milk was old or sat out too long and the cream cheese is allowed to sit out and reach room temperature. It would be nice if they offered more fruit. Besides that it was a nice hotel for Brooklyn. The pillows are small; they should replace them with at least standard size pillows (just a thought).

    My husband, sister,brother-in-law and I recently traveled across the country on a road trip. We left California on October 1st and visited a variety of places during out trip. We had the pleasure of spending 2 nights in the Best Western Plus Prospect Park Hotel in Brooklyn, NY. We were 2 weeks into our trip when we arrived in Brooklyn and had stayed in a number of hotels up to this time. From the moment we entered the hotel lobby at B.W. Prospect Park we were made to feel most welcome. Lucky for us Gia was "manning" the counter! She was so helpful in a variety of ways. She told us about the subway and mapped out a route for us to follow to visit the 9/11 Memorial. When we decided to take a taxi instead of the subway, she called a cab for us. When we inquired about a place for dinner she recommended a nearby Italian restaurant. The restaurant was so good we returned for the second night! My sister needed to print a boarding pass for their return home-Gia was right there to assist. The hotel itself was wonderful-small but immaculate! Every bit of space was functional. The amenities were wonderful and included free WiFi, continental breakfast ( delicious) and parking. My sister and brother-in-law flew home after 2 weeks, but my husband and I spent a total of 3 weeks away from home. We agree that the B.W. Prospect Plus was a highlight of our trip! Thanks again Gia for making us feel so welcome!

    The Best Western Plus Prospect Park is very convenient by car or subway. The surface lot next to the hotel was never full during our stay, although there is a garage if it fills. The subway (Broadway local line) is right across the street (to Manhattan) and two doors away coming back. Breakfast is included, with better than average eggs, bacon, sausages, do-it-yourself waffles, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, and tea. The staff is very knowledgable, friendly, and courteous. The free internet is good. All-in-all, this is a good choice to stay in Brooklyn, with easy access to Lower Manhattan, Midtown, and Queens.

    On the plus side : Brand new hotel and metro just in front of it On the minus side : nothing close around by walking. Comfortable room but you can hear the traffic the entire night if your room is on 4th av. or on the East or West side. Breakfast is "industrial minimum", but it is better than nothing. Should be 10 or 15 % cheaper (I paid $ 220 anight plus taxes) Again everything beeing new makes the difference.

    People were very friendly & helpful. Room was very clean. Pillows were the size of throw pillows on a sofa and you were not able to close the curtains which let the sun in but also made you feel like you didn't have any privacy if it was night time and you had a light on in the room.

    We arrived much, much earlier than expected at the hotel and, of course, our room wasn't ready. The reception staff offered to put our luggage in a store room, so we retrieved a few bits and went off into Manhattan to pick up our tourist passes. On our return, we were "signed in" very quickly and efficiently and told where to find our room. We asked for a "quiet" room and were told we'd been allocated a room with a view - and what a view! It was also on the 8th floor, so hardly any road noise. There are many adverse comments on here about small room sizes - I've included a photo of the floor plan so you can gauge the sizes, we were in room 806. It wasn't big, admittedly, but - hey, news flash - you use a hotel as a place to sleep and get changed, you DO NOT need a large room. This is a quality hotel at budget prices. The bed was large and comfortable, the room and bathroom were scrupulously clean and the small bottles of shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and body lotion were replenished daily, as were the coffee sachets (but only two regular and one decaf!). Storage space was quite adequate for our clothes although one large suitcase had to go on top of the wardrobe, the other behind the room door. Breakfast consisted of American "bacon" (ie rashers hard fried and greasy - not really to British tastes but we accept that this is how our colonial cousins like it and when in Rome...), sausages and scrambled egg, a batter dispenser to make your own waffles, breads, pastries, cereals, yoghurt, fruit juice, tea and coffee but little in the way of fresh fruit (oranges for the first few days, then nothing until my wife asked for fruit, when apples were produced). Again, there are negative comments about the use of disposable plates and cutlery. I repeat - this is a quality hotel at budget prices, so get a life and stop complaining. My wife had a minor accident outside as we were waiting for a taxi, and the reception staff were quick off the mark to provide first aid. The location looks fine in Google Earth Streetview but is actually a bit run down. It's perfectly safe, though (there is a large police station just down the road). What appear to be restaurants down the road (to the right leaving the hotel) are actually take-aways with a couple of tables, and are little more that "greasy spoon" joints. The supermarket next door is a bit of a muddle. There is a Dunkin' Donuts across the road to the left, but we didn't explore the street further than that. The subway is feet away from the front door of the hotel, on the R line. The entrance by the hotel is for the Coney Island end of the line, to get to Manhattan you need to cross the road. However, using the R line to get into Manhattan takes about 40 minutes. It is much better to go south one stop and change to the N or D lines (depending on where you are aiming for) as these are express services and take around 20 minutes to get to the Times Square area. We were extremely pleased to have found this hotel, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cannot recommend it highly enough.

    Stayed for three nights at the end of September. Chose Brooklyn and this hotel as a cheaper alternative to Manhattan with the R subway being located directly outside the front door and it only being a short subway ride to a car rental location for our trip upstate. We arrived earlier than anticipated thanks to a great flight and an efficient taxi driver to be told that check in was at 3.00, nearly two hours away. We grabbed a coffee before deciding whether to leave luggage but before it was finished a smiling receptionist told us that the "quiet, upper floor room" we had requested was ready. Boy did we luck out. Room 1007 had a view of the Manhattan skyline to die for. Yes the room isn't large and yes it was warm (it was 81 the day we arrived) and yes the wind did whistle the following two nights after the weather changed for the worse but these are small moans. I would say though that the mattress is getting tired. It was clean with plenty of hanging space and suited our needs. Breakfast starts at 6.30 which was also a big plus as we were up very early because of jet lag. Fairly basic but quite filling. We didn't have a great deal of contact with the staff but they were all very pleasant and willing to help. There isn't much within a block or two of the hotel and area, whilst perfectly safe, certainly isn't swanky. We found some great restaurants on 5th Avenue, two or three subway stops away. If you are looking to save some money and don't mind a longer "commute" to the sights then we can thoroughly recommend this Best Western. And did I mention the view?!

    This hotel like many Best Westerns was great,if you happen to get a room with a view you can see the Island of Manhattan in its glory.Good facilities ie gym and sauna,and the housekeepers on the ball.Subway across the otherside of street and away you go...NYC is your oyster,Sean.

    The location is so close to everything, subway, industry city, shops, restaurants and more. Great staff, very accommodating and helpful. Gave great ideas for dinner within walking distance. Small grocery store next door and great bakeries. Room was pretty small, but that's expected in NYC. Top floor room had windows that whistled when the wind blew, kind of annoying. Spectacular Views of NYC! Good breakfast in the morning, but great 7th Ave. Donut Shop Diner was recommended and it's a must! All in all a great value for the money in the pricey area.

    Clean, convenient, great breakfast. It's nice to have a room with a refrigerator in the City. That's not normal. Also, there was space to put my suitcase. Also not normal in a NYC hotel. You are steps away from a subway stop which puts you minutes from anywhere you'd want to go in Brooklyn or any other borough. Attentive management.

    We were in New York for a week and loved this location. It is steps from the subway, grocery store next door, and breakfast every morning! The staff were very helpful in explaining how to use the subway and made great recommendations for places to eat. The room was clean and we had a wonderful view from our room. We will stay at this hotel the next time we visit New York.

    Our 1st trip to New York and our stay at Best Western Brooklyn was perfect. We loved the location with subway close by, the room was clean and maintained daily, the breakfast was great with hot and cold choices, the staff were friendly and helpful, restaurants close by, grocery store next door, and the cost was affordable for our weeks' stay. Highly recommend this place!

    « Avoid management that only cares about the bottom line »

    I have stayed here in the past as I visit family here - I tend to patronize the same place. I booked here again to attend the funeral of my sister. The arrangements were changed and I had to rebook it to a few nights later. The original night was not cancelled correctly and the hotel charged me over $250 for the one night - refusing in any way to refund it even though I had another reservation for two nights a few days later. It was a very upsetting time for me and they were inflexible even though the charges were still "pending" and they could have easily reversed it and kept a loyal customer. I very rarely write bad reviews, but I feel like people should know what a horrible place this is - there are plenty of better places to stay in Brooklyn. Support businesses where the management supports the customers. They could have made it right - easily. They pretended to do me a big favor by not charging me another $250 and letting me cancel the current reservation - they have a 48 hr cancellation policy - which I was within 24 hrs., but had been waiting to hear back from *them* about the first charge. Just unnecessary rudeness to a loyal customer. Hotels can say they care, but when it comes down to it, they can do whatever they want. Note - when I talked to the national office, they were sure I would be refunded the money, but it is up to the local manager.

    If you're looking for good value and clean and comfortable rooms, it's hard to beat this hotel. There is a subway stop on the doorstep and we have Google Maps nowadays, so going to Manhattan is not an issue unless you like to come back to your hotel multiple times a day. The only downsides are the sometimes inconsistent housekeeping (once the toilet paper wasn't replaced even though we were clearly running low, another time we didn't get new shampoo) and the lack of a laundry machine. There is a laundromat 2-3 blocks away, but it's a hassle to carry your laundry to and fro while in your jammies, especially in the colder months I can imagine. Guest laundry should be basic for a mid-range hotel, especially a Best Western Plus.

    We stayed at the Best Western in Prospect Park, Brooklyn for one night. Not knowing what to expect we were very happy with the people, the service and the facility. They made good recommendations and accommodated any questions or requirements we had quickly and in a very friendly manner.

    We stayed at this hotel from 8 sept till 11 sept 2015. Hotel location is very convenient with subway metro at doorstep . Can easily reach to all tourist attractions with R line metro. Hotel also provided limited outdoor parking located right next to it . There is convenient mart open from 7am to 9pm. Lots of eateries nearby . Upon checking out, we asked for a cab thru the reception . It cost us usd55 to Jfk airport in 50mins.
