"Cozy Hotel & Cool Staff"

My mom and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and we enjoyed it. Cozy hotel and room, with very friendly and fun front staff. We had an early flight into New York but missed breakfast by the time we got to the hotel. However, Langdon, Jessica and Esther ensured we were more than adequately fed even though we missed breakfast. Esther helped alot as well in showing us how to catch the train to go shopping. Langdon and Jessica helped alot in helping us find some winter gear for our stay since it was so cold. Really great stuff. We'll definitely come again soon.

Older hotel but super friendly and helpful staff. Danielle and Sophia really went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed,especially when we had to arrive separately. Close to subway station and restaurants/stores.

Stayed at the arena hotel while attending a wedding in Brooklyn. The rooms are average, has all the amenities we needed (including fridge and microwave), bed was comfy, bathroom was clean and nice. The breakfast had plenty of choices and was good,we enjoyed it. The staff is very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. The only problem is the construction on the train platform right outside the front door. The street is closed in front of the hotel and there is supposed to be a way to drive down if you are staying at the hotel, but it did not work for us. The Lyft we ordered to go to the wedding had to pick us up at the corner, which in black tie clothing and very cold weather was unpleasant. The hotel should make people aware of the construction and perhaps discount the rooms accordingly. Otherwise, a nice hotel.

Hands down, THE BEST STAFF I have seen in all the hotels I've stayed in! In particular, Rosa and Danielle at the front desk were so helpful, courteous, informative, KIND, just OUTSTANDING! There was a cozy robe and slippers for me to use, plenty of toiletries, and a very comfortable bed. The building is older, but kept very clean. I did not go to the continental breakfast because I went out every day for brunch, but I did see fresh bakery goods being delivered early one morning when I was checking out that smelled wonderful! I thought it was reasonably priced and close to the subway. I walked with my son a lot at night time and during the day to different restaurants, which are excellent! It is close to the Long Island Rail, and I could hear some of the train static, but it didn't bother me. I thought some of the residential neighborhoods were enchanting, with people walking their dogs at night, etc. Yes, there are some streets that have a lot of construction or something going on but it didn't bother us. If the weather had been better and I had more time to visit, I would have loved to just browse in and out in the area. I have seen Manhattan. I wanted a feel for Brooklyn where my son lives. I thought it was a great experience!

"Great Customer Service"

There are good and bad parts of my review for this hotel. The good is that the customer service at this hotel is one of the best I have received in the USA. The front desk staff is very helpful with all our questions and issues. The breakfast was one of the best. Surprisingly the pastries were exceptional and variety of food offered was better than average. Staff at breakfast was great too. Always refilling items and breakfast room was always clean. Location was a few blocks from subway so convenient although walking to the subway you needed to pass by some not so nice streets. This leads me to talk about the not so nice... The hotel is right next to the Long Island Rail. If your room faces the front you will see and hear the train as early as 4am and into the night. One night there was loud heavy banging of construction which was annoying. Rooms are also very small so only stay here if you are planning to be out and about all day. No real amenities to enjoy. Just a night sleep and good breakfast. We got to park our car in the back lot for $12 per night and took transit all day. Better than driving everywhere. You can buy a week long pass that allows you to go on buses and subway all week long. This was cheaper than driving into Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. Next time I would not stay here. Would opt for something more central.

The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. They had various offerings for their breakfast selections and Mildred was always there to make sure that you had what you needed. The hotel and room were very well kept.

Great little hotel with fantastic service! Thanks Jessica, Landon and the other wonderful staff (whose names escape me) for your dedication to providing a warm and welcoming environment to guests visiting New York. Any questions we had about where to find services, how to use trains, buses, subways to get where we wanted to go were answered with care. The room itself was cozy and quiet. The maid service was excellent. The only thing negative I have has nothing to do with this hotel or staff but it's location is such that it's a bit sketchy walking back to the hotel late at night from the nearest subway station. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a great place to stay for price. It's a 15 minute subway ride to Lower Manhattan so if you're on a budget or you hate the thought of spending $400+ a night on a room in Manhattan then you definitely need to check this hotel out!

Location was great and in my old neighborhood,near public transportation,also many laces to eat and shop . Parking was a great feature and the cheapest place around wish I had a better view fro my room but other than that I plan to always stay here when I can.

Great little hotel close to everything. Don't let first looks deceive you. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and breakfast was your average for a hotel with breakfast included. What makes this hotel is the staff. They were just great! The train is right outside the door, convenient but a little noisy, nothing you can't sleep through. Franklin and Norstrand Ave are very convenient!

"Awesome Stay at the BW Plus Arena Hotel"

Way to go Jessica, Rose, Angelica, and Mildred! You guys rock. We stayed with you for one night on 9/21/18 prior to our cruise on the Regal Princess out of the Brooklyn Cruise Port on 9/22/18. Driving up to your property we had doubts about the local area and how it looked. But, believe it or not looks can be deceiving as we soon found out. We were quickly checked in to our wonderful king-size bed rooms which we found absolutely spotless. There were no complaints. We were two couples wanting to visit lower Manhattan and the 911 Memorial area. Rose, Jessica, and Angelica walked us through getting there via the subway. Piece of cake! While near Ground Zero we visited a famous Irish Pub called O'Hara's which was right in the epicenter during the attack on our twin towers. We visited there and met the owner who showed us a wonderful scrapbook of his place and how it was impacted during the attack. He rebuilt and the rest was history. Suggest if you are going to visit the 911 Memorial you definitely need to stop in and have lunch and a beer at O'Hara's. You won't be disappointed. After our tour of downtown Manhattan we worked our way back to the hotel to freshen up for the night. Rose, Jessica, and Angelica continued to do their magic by helping and assisting us with questions and how to get to local establishments. Everything for the most part is within walking distance, i.e. grocery stores, deli's, pizzerias, liquor and wine stores, etc. We loved the BW Arena and definitely loved their breakfast the next morning. The reason why it was so good was because of one lady by the name of Mildred who ran this operation making sure all of us were taken care of and had full bellies prior to starting out our day. Mildred than you for having such a caring attitude and personal touch in the dining room. In summary, without a doubt this will be our to go place the next time we are in Brooklyn and the NY metropolitan area because of Rose, Jessica, Angelica, and Mildred. All the staff were extremely friendly and especially helpful. Absolutely no corporate speak or tone from employees, they were genuine. King room was of ample size, we did not feel squished at all - even when a family member came to visit. Room had two chairs, desk and upholstered. I have low vision and although the hotel did not notice my reservation request for extra lamps, once we arrived and I reminded them, they bent over backwards to assist me. There's a wonderful Indian restaurant half a block away which they recommended to us (India House) - so good we went two nights in a row. Free breakfast was basic but to us good enough. Breakfast room was not super large and it could be noisy when it was full of people. (I truly wish hotels played calming music - read classical or light jazz - rather then offer the ubiquitous drone of a TV [at least the volume was fairly low]). When we visit family we'll definitely stay here again.

"Superb Staff in a Very Good Hotel"

My wife and I really enjoyed our three day stay at the BW Plus Arena Hotel. The hotel itself was very good with the usual comfortable bed in a large-for-the city room. Wifi was fine. Everything else worked well. We were on the train side, but weren't bothered by the noise. Muriel, who oversees the breakfast room should be featured in a training video. Cheerful, helpful, good-humored, professional. Plus the breakfast was what you hope for to start the day. Rose and Joanna quickly sorted out our reservation and credit card problems so we could get on with our vacation. We were within easy walking distance of some excellent restaurants in Stuyvesant Heights, there are a couple of very good grocery stores nearby, and it's only a couple of blocks to the subway station. I don't understand some of the negative comments about the neighbourhood. Looking forward to another visit.

We recently stayed there on business and after not being helped by the manager on duty during the day, Zuli saved us when we arrived in the evening with assisting in finding some needed work space for us, plus with a great attitude that continued with our stay. Angelica was helpful as well booking the conference room for us and always being welcoming! Overall, the rooms were nice and although the lobby and entrance area is small, and the neighborhood isn't the nicest, that's NYC for you!

Normally i don't write reviews about hotels but since i was treated so super good i am going to. The room was clean and had everything i needed including a coffeemaker and a good choice of Tv Channels. The people at the hotel were super(Shoutout to Rose(Always smiling) and her college's) nice giving me directions on paper:) and offering me something to drink when i came in. At night there was a nice security man who made me feel super safe. Breakfast was a joy:)The only thing i didn't get was why turkey bacon:-):-). I love regular bacon.

The staff is one of the best there is! Helpful, friendly, charming. The hotel was clean and the breakfast wonderful; plenty of danish type choices, big fluffy hot eggs and hot turkey bacon. Cool pancake maker for perfect pancakes. Excellent variety of food choices. Really a great stay!

My daughter and I were placed in a very difficult situation when an AirBnB booking failed us. It was very late, very distressing. We turned up unannounced after a local recommendation and a quick search which confirmed room availablility. Check in was confirmed and very sensitively and professionally taken care of by Jacob. This is a really friendly hotel providing exceptional service and brilliant value. A great team with customer care at the heart of what they do. Thanks everyone.

The double room was quite spacious, clean and comfortable with huge king-size bed. The hotel vicinity was rather gloomy, but it was safe. The staff was really helpful, especially Jessica and Rose. Thank you for nice stay!

We shifted to this place at the last minute as we were unhappy with our other accomodation with AirBnB. We were delighted with this place as compared with the prices offered at AirBnB and facilities provided at this hotel. The staff is great, friendly and very helpful. Our room was made ready for an early arrival even without us informing the hotel. The location is close to the subway which makes it convenient although a lot of homeless people were observed from subway station to the hotel making it a bit uncomfortable walk. Breakfast was great and healthy thereby giving us a headstart for our days's activities which was useful considering our lunch time was undefined. Parking is provided free which is an added advantage to those who drive down to NYC.

Modern hotel is near subway from Manhattan on commercial strip of Atlantic Avenue. The Barclays Arena is a short cab ride away or a walk for the more adventurous. Breakfast was the usual fare for these kinds of places. Nothing exciting. Staff was very friendly led by Rose. Without us asking, we were offered a coveted quiet lower level room. Uber and Lyft cars readily available for transport besides the subway. Rooms were clean and adequate. Decent bathroom. Bathrobe and slippers for one in the room. Safe, mini fridge and microwave. Complementary water in the room.

A nice clean hotel in a convenient area of Brooklyn. Price is reasonable and all of the staff are amazingly helpful. Rose went out of her way to help me in a tough situation and I appreciated it very much. The breakfast was good and the next time I am in Brooklyn this is where I will stay.

We needed a last-minute reservation at the Best Western Plus Arena. Our daughter, who lives nearby, had injured herself while jogging. The hotel associate (Brian) courteously made a tentative reservation which allowed us to cancel if necessary. It turns out that our daughter's injuries were not serious so we cancelled the reservation. This is our 'go to' hotel when visiting our daughter. Close to the train would book again.The staff was knowledgeable and nice.The parking is not free but a lot cheaper than Manhattan. Books up fast so plan ahead. If you want to stay in Midtown Brooklyn this is the best of the 3 hotels in the area

This hotel has it all: location (near subway), free parking, clean and spacious rooms, friendly and professional staff, decent breakfast, and easy check-in and out. We had several problems initially (smoke alarm going off) and housekeeping not fully done - and the staff took care of them immediately.

Needed a place to stay while helping our son move apartments. This place was only a few hundred yards from the new place. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was very clean with efficient use of space. Parking was only $10 per night. Good WiFi. Fluffy towels. Amazing spread at the complimentary breakfast.

Everyone was extremely attentive and welcoming. The rooms were clean and large enough for 3 people. The staff had suggestions for local restaurants and transportation options. Rose arranged a ride for us for the wedding we were attending. Our time at the Best Western Plus Arena Hotel was very positive.

At first, you might be disappointed by the size of your room. But, it has everything you need. I was surprised by the fact that microwave is equipped too. It provides breakfast for free, and it has fitness center on the first floor. Also, it provides good cleaning service. Specifically, housekeeper Grimilda was so friendly and nice. "Great value"

The hotel is clean, decently up-to-date, and the staff are very friendly. The location was great too, it was easy to catch the train everywhere. Nice restaurants and bars in Crown Heights and Prospect Heights are within walking distance. This was a great, cheaper hotel to stay in for a weekend in Brooklyn.

Right from the start of my experience with the Best Western plus Arena Hotel in Brooklyn NY was the friendly face of the desk person named ZULI. She greeted our arrival with enthusiastic professionalism, helped us by providing a luggage cart so we could unload our car, and guided us quickly through the registration process. This Hotel is a very short JUNO car ride away from the Barclay Center where you can enjoy sports events, concerts, and theater presentations. The hotel is centrally located for Brooklyn destinations, and was perfect for our plan to see the children and grandchildren. We were there for 5 days, and thanks to the hard work of Aimee and Mireya, our room was always fresh and clean

My wife and I just spent a week here and the stay was very good. Hotel looked new, rooms very clean, good shower, and top notch free breakfast. We would definitely stay again. Jessica made us feel very welcome, and even helped provide toiletries that I has forgotten. Oh and so close to the subway and LIRR. Tv had so many channels. Thankyou so much!

The room was small but very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful, especially Jessica and Zuli. Room had a fridge, microwave, fluffy towels, nice toiletries, comfy beds, big modern bathroom, good breakfast (yogurt, fruit, eggs, pancakes, bacon, cereal, etc.). Close to a subway station. Maybe 10 minutes by Uber to Brooklyn Museum.

The walk from the subway made me wonder what kind of hotel awaited us. But the staff was on top of everything and the room was very clean and appeared new. If you are flying in and out of Kennedy the LIRR is very convenient.

Wonderful hotel. Squeaky clean and very comfy. Rose at the front desk will solve any issue that presents itself. She's perfect for the job. Aimee kept our room looking fresh and clean. The breakfast is great! Eggs, sausage, pancakes, delicious coffee, pastries, yogurt, etc. It was an overall surprisingly pleasant visit. AND there's a super healthy grocery store steps away with everything you'd want and a wine store 3 minutes away. I'm very happy with this selection. There is no place to sit and read in this bldg and that's my only minor concern but the room had a comfy desk and chair so I'm happy. Will definitely come back.

"Great Little hotel and Location, Next to Train"

It is hard to write a review for this place. The Hotel is great, and the location is very good, however the same closeness to trains is also something that makes it a bit bothersome. Literally next to he LIRR (Making it kind of noisy) and down the street from the A train. Vibrant neighborhood with lots of character and good food fighting typical gentrification. Can take the LIRR straight to JFK or take the A train down to Manhattan.

"Nice hotel, neighborhood - just ok"

The actual hotel was great, the area, a little less desirable. We stayed as a family and walked to the subway each day. The subway is only a couple blocks away, which was awesome, but the neighborhood getting there was a bit rough. The room was super cozy for a family of 4, but there was some storage so we were able to unpack and make it work. The room was very clean, the beds were small, but comfortable. The worst part of the room was a very noisy AC unit under the window. It was right next to the bed and kept us up at night. The train is also close, but the double pane window kept the noise at bay. The breakfast was great. Marta & Rose were amazing! They made us feel happy we stayed there and really are the best! They went out of their way to make our family feel comfortable. We were happy to have gated parking, (no longer free) and were able to leave our car there and not drive in the city. Overall, we were pretty happy with the hotel and it's affordable price, but would have liked a little different neighborhood.

"Awesome Service"

The service here really makes this hotel. Brian and Jessica at the front desk go out of their way to make sure you have a comfortable stay and quickly ease any concerns you may have. The young lady at the front desk on Tues 6/5 around 9pm was great as well. Parking is affordable ($12 per night) and plentiful, they have an entire lot fenced off for their guests-you never have to fight to find parking. The train across the street can be loud, but it didn't bother us. 2 blocks to the subway that will take you to Manhattan, convenient, but if you come back late at night be prepared for the less fortunate to be asking for money right at the exit of the subway-made my wife a little uncomfortable.

"Great location, affordable and safe"

Stayed for a three day weekend at the Best Western Plus Arena. Location was super great. Five minutes from the Nostrand subway. And a 25 minute walk to the Booklyn Museum. Several good local coffee shops and a nice market on the corner. Our room on the second floor was a decent size for New York. We had a window facing the parking lot so it was very quiet. Heard minimal noise from the hallway. The bathroom was a good size too and everything worked and was clean. Would highly recommend staying here.

Hotel convenient to grandson's apt and to downtown Brooklyn and Arena district. Good parking available. ALL of the staff were friendly, had great attitudes! Complimentary breakfast good, lots of choices. Rooms very nice. View out of our 3rd floor room was the railroad/subway and busy Atlantic Ave.

It was a short walk to the subway and very close to a convenient store that had basically everything you could need or want. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The room came with complimentary waters in the fridge and breakfast was adequate. What impressed me the most was when I was running late to breakfast one morning, normally I would have been out of luck. Instead a friendly staff member, Marta, put together a few things to-go for me to bring back to the room while I grabbed a cup of coffee. The staff is certainly accommodating.

The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was adequate. The WiFi was good. There's no view, but then, it's in Brooklyn. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is a bit run down and sketchy, but I never felt unsafe. Then again, I never walked around it at night. It's reasonably close to both the subway and the Long Island Rail Road. If staying in Brooklyn, I'd stay again.

"Very pleasant stay"

I like everything about the hotel room: bathroom, water pressure, air conditioning, bed, bedding, cleanliness... except that our room was facing the railway track. That said, it didn't really bother me. I'm usually easily woken up by the smallest sound but I had good sleeps all 5 nights of the stay. The staff are all very nice and helpful, especially Rose at the front desk. We arrived in the morning and our room was not ready yet. But we were offered to sit in the breakfast area, use hotel Wifi to do some work/research, and have a coffee (BTW their breakfast and coffee are good). They help you store your luggage (with a luggage tag so you'll need to show your slip when you claim your bags on your return) if you need to go out. Very good service. The hotel is about 5 min walk to Norstrand Av subway station, which is a main station at which express trains will stop. There are many bus routes in the area as well. So in case they shut down the subway line for maintenance and whatnot you can still take transit. (We took the bus a few times - they DID shutdown the subway after 9:30 pm that week!)

"Bang for your buck"

I stayed here for the Brooklyn Half Marathon- I chose this hotel due to its location and price. Hotel is about 1.5 miles from Prospect Park (a good warm-up distance for the race). Hotel is also two blocks from the subway. Free parking and free wifi! Hotel is very close to the Long Island Rail Road so ask for a room in the back if you do not want to hear the trains go by. Room had a microwave and mini fridge. Beds were comfortable. The front desk staff had breakfast bags ready for the runners in the morning as we left hotel before breakfast was served. Hotel gave me late checkout since it took a lot longer to get back from Coney Island after the race finished. There is a grocery store on the corner (whole market I believe) with good breakfast sandwiches and salads.

This hotel is close to where my daughter lives. This is our third stay and we will stay here again in the future. The rooms are nice, the breakfast is wonderful (they have pancakes!), and the parking is secure and safe.

"Great Budget Hotel in Brooklyn"

I stayed at this hotel with a friend the night before running the Brooklyn Half Marathon. This will be my go-to in the future if I need lodgings in Brooklyn. Rose at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful. A gentleman working the desk in the morning (I regret I did not get his name...) was also great. The hotel even went out of the way to provide snack bags to runners, since we'd have to leave for the race before the usual breakfast snacks would be available. This is a good location too, located close to transportation, and a short walk from restaurants and groceries on nearby Franklin Avenue. As others have stated, yes, there is train noise in the rooms. Basically just standard city noise. Highly recommended!

Overall this is a great hotel for the area. Their breakfast actually includes hot food, and they do provide parking (although it is not free). The staff was amazing and extremely helpful. Rose particularly helped me out with everything from my room situation to giving suggestions about where to eat.

The Hotel was nice and clean, the staff were very helpful. The subway is just down the road so good for getting to Manhatten. And free parking. The only drawback was the breakfast lounge was very small so had to queue for breakfast at busy times of the morning.

The hotel is conveniently located in Brooklyn, close to subway and busses. The area is trendy with young people. Lots of food places. Stayed here for just one night before we flew out of NY. Staff were excellent, very polite and nothing too much trouble for them. Not sure of the ladies name but she was brilliant, she gave us a great recommendation of where to get something to eat, which was one of our favourite meals during the entire time we spent in NY. Great location only a few yards from the Nostrand Ave tube station. Would definately stay here again if I come back to NY.

We had a weekend stay here. Best price for miles around. There's train noise (you'll be grateful for the noisy air conditioner) and it's not the most scenic block, but the place was clean and comfortable, and the desk staff super nice and friendly. Recommended.

I stayed at Best Western Plus Arena Hotel for two nights in early May. Before I had checked in, they reassured me over the phone that checking in late was no problem and that the room I booked was the one I would get. The hotel is clean and bright, and my king room was as expected. It was great to have a bathrobe and slippers provided, so I didn't have to pack my own or do without. There was a heat wave in New York during my stay, so I packed my favourite hot-weather linen dress, knowing I could easily press it back into shape with the iron and ironing board in my room. The mini fridge with water was great, and it was nice to have the microwave and coffee making capability, too. Breakfast was in a nice, bright room and had lots of choices, from cereal to scrambled or hard-boiled eggs, toast and English muffins, pastries, yogurt and fresh fruit, juices and coffee, and a friendly lady to help you. The staff were all so kind and helpful, whether booking a car to the airport and wake-up calls, or resetting the air conditioner, or making change, or showing me just how I could actually retrieve my cell phone from the store in downtown Manhattan and still make my 9 a.m. booked car ride to the airport. (Thanks, Zuli!) The only little downside is the hotel's being one lane of traffic away from the elevated Long Island Rail Road track. It was right outside my window. It was actually not that noisy, and with my ear plugs sleeping was no problem. There was road construction right outside, too, but the work crew were very nice and accommodating. But subways and shuttles were short walks away, so getting around was fast and easy. I really liked staying at the Best Western Plus Arena Hotel, and I would do it again.

This is a very nice hotel. The staff has been friendly all around. The room was clean and fresh. Didn't feel like an old hotel. Felt special. Yes, the parking is limited. But always had a spot. I paid about $210 which was perfect on a company budget.

"Don't judge a book by it's cover"

The staff welcomed us with a joke. They were very nice and if you need toiletries, just ask. The location was close to the subway and there is a nice supermarket on the corner. The rooms have compact fridges and very nice bathrooms. A very clean hotel and they also provide a complimentary continental breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

All the staff are very nice at this hotel! From check in to check out, they couldn't have been more helpful. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was great, and the staff at breakfast ( Marta and Zuli) were so helpful and kind. They keep the food well-stocked, and the tables clean. Suggest they add a tip cup, because they should be tipped, they do such a good job.

Great price value for the area. The building is new and the rooms were clean. The showers had great hot water.The hotel is pretty small and standard but what really sets it apart is how gosh darn nice all the staff are. Landon and Sofia in particular took ample time chatting with our family and giving us great advice about where to get lunch, coffee etc. The location is central to many spots in Brooklyn such as the Children's Museum. The neighborhood is a bit rough, but I was comfortable walking alone during the day. Perhaps not at night alone. That being said it's adjacent to the long island rail road and you can easily urber. Plus, there is a parking lot which was a perk for us as we drove in. They really exceeded our expectations, especially for the price.

Very clean, very friendly staff, breakfast was good (much better than one can expect in this category). Metro station closeby. Location in the beating heart of Brooklyn - not really silent outside, but we slept very well anyway. Good mattresses. Free fence-protected parking space for several dozen cars bordering to a great wholesome foods shop (which seems to be a standard supply location for NYPD members. Secure location!). Half an hour to Kennedy Airport by car. The BW+ Arena Hotel would have been ideal for us because of the location and parking opportunity alone. Considering the other benefits, we'd say it's perfect.

Last week I was travelling to NYC for the important family event. We arrived on Saturday 3-31-2018 quite late and the private property we have rented in advance was not available for some reason (wrong keys were arranged). I have travelled with my extended family including elder members, so it was quite unexpected and challenging after many hours on the road... We found this hotel after several unlucky attempts to book the rooms for us in other hotels - the receptionist (her name is Rose) was so kind to help us over the phone and processed our reservations while we were driving to the hotel. Her friendly and positive attitude along with the prompt action saved us a lot of our time, nervous energy and provided us with the good rest overnight. By the way the hotel has a parking that is very important when travelling to NYC... Thanks, Rose!

I stayed here 1 night. I was stuck in NYC during a snowstorm and while Manhattan hotels were price gouging for the night, I got a wonderful deal at the standard price here in Brooklyn. The staff here was most excellent. Every person I encountered was above and beyond friendly and helpful. They worked hard to ensure I had a good experience. I had an issue with my remote and the staff promptly responded and quickly solved the problem. Cleanliness was excellent, also. I was very comfortable in my room. My only complaint would be that I could hear my neighbors TV. I don't know if they had it up super loud or the walls are that thin but since it'd be turned off by the point I was going to sleep, I survived. The hotel is only 5 minutes from subway station. An easy walk though that particular station is gross (which has nothing to do with the hotel, of course). The LIRR is also right in front of the hotel. My room faced the tracks, but I was not at all disturbed by train noise. There's a wonderful market right by the hotel, Wholesome foods that's convenient for groceries or prepared food. All in all this is one of the best hotel stays I've had and I would definitely return.

We stayed from 25th to 27th march 2018 with our children. We had a wonderful stay in this nice Brooklyn Hotel, the breakfast was included in the room price, we had a great choice of food. Our room was nice and tidy. The free parking and the location (next to nordstram subway station in Brooklyn) were very convenient to travel around NYC without worrying about parking and traffic. The staff was the best point of this hotel. They were all great, but specially Rose and Sofia made our stay a wonderful one. They were kind, helpful and available for all questions we had. We recommend this hotel to all brooklyn lovers travelling with kids.

I have been there lot of times, I love the service and the staff is so friendly ( special mention to The front office manager and a Spanish girl was at the front desk. Beautiful hotel in New York...small and simple with delicious breakfast. Stay here for a boxing Fight at the Barclay's Center. Perfect location as the center is located blocks away. It's an 8 minute drive and a 20 minute walk on a good day. Absolutely will stay here again.

we stayed here last year July 17 (2 families ) even though i did research about all aspects of this hotel but still i would not say it was amazing . we found these pros and cons rooms for kids family Not big enough ! Breakfast was good but Not enough space to sit ? small room few tables /ques hotel from NOT not good view ,train bridge there plus its on the main road so if you coming by car you need be very careful to drive in the hotel car park ,bit tricky

"Run away to The Brooklyn down the street "

I made a reservation thru Booking.com first mistake. Second mistake Best Western Plus Arena. They dropped my reservation wanted to charge me $75 for early check in to a higher priced room, Gabriel was rude and was only concerned when we walked out the door. We walked down Atlantic to The Brooklyn. Johnathan was our hero. We ended up staying the rest of our vacation. The staff is excellent. I went to get breakfast at 10:30 worried because it ended at 11am. The lovely young lady tending the counter went to remove an item and I was concerned because I wanted some before she took it away. She said don't worry I am just refilling it. Most continental breakfast bars are picked over and wrapping up but she was refilling to make sure we had our choice. The beds are premium mattresses with deluxe sheets. In fact all the linens were soft and cozy. Just a wonderful place to come home to. We will definitely stay again.

The hotel stay was great. However, I kept seeing charges on my card that did not correspond with the billing. The location, room, breakfast, parking were superb, however the billing system was terrible and I am home going on another trip with the billing unresolved.

I love that it's really close to any kind of food from sushi to Indian or just want something fast KFC, Burger king, Texas Burger even a deli. It's close to the subway. The hotel is located in a main road. Also, If need to do laundry theirs a Laundromat right around the corner. I had a really great pleasant stay here.

Unless you don't mind SUPER cramped rooms, go right ahead. If you have any issues, good luck contacting the manager. The manager refuses to return any of my calls and emails. I had a family emergency which forced me to cancel my reservation, however since they “authorized” the payment, I have to contact the none existent management to request a refund.

In addition to a comfortable bed, fridge, microwave, etc., I appreciated the desk clerk's helpful suggestion (when I checked in late evening, having had no dinner) of Wholesome Foods Market & Deli, just down the street (and he even supplied a menu); I got a great Reuben sandwich there & brought it (along with chips) back to the room. Very convenient, great suggestion!

We had had a power outage at my residence, 400 miles away, the day of our reservation. Not wanting to leave under those conditions, I informed the hotel that we may not make it down to NYC......well after their normal cancellation policy period ended. They told me not to worry, that they would waive the penalty under the circumstances, and to keep them informed. That was customer service beyond the norm.THANKS!

This was a clean and new hotel. Staff was very friendly and it was very close to the subway and the platform for LIRR. The local restaurants around the hotel were opened 24 hours and or opened late and they were all very good.

Work made my reservations here as it was a convenient location to my Manhattan job sites. I looked up the location to get a lay of the land and I was not looking forward to staying in that area and trying to park a big GMC 2500 pickup truck too. Well I must say I admit when I'm wrong ! The minute I pulled up the doorman was there to help me unload and park my truck. The parking is in a large outdoor gated, and secure lot next door. The inside of the hotel was very clean, from the lobby , in the elevator, and in the room too. There is an elevated train in front of the hotel which is one thing that first had me saying no I didn't want to stay here. My room was facing the station and level with it too, but the room was pretty well insulated from any noise. It didn't bother me one bit so don't be concerned either. There is a great market with cooked food, and wholesome food and groceries basicly next door open very late. Across the street is a Brisket house with some of the best Pastrami and cornbeef sandwiches I've ever had. All in all the staff was super friendly whether it was 5 am or midnight, and when I'm back in town you can bet I will be back !!!

A very nice hotell located in Brooklyn only 150 meter from a subway station with a direct line to Manhattan. The staff was very nice and helpful. Very close to a lot of hip areas in Brooklyn. Excellent breakfast with all the food you need for a hectic day in NYC.

I love this hotel, it's location at Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn provides easy access to transportation and shopping! The hotel is clean and professional and provides great amenities like parking and free breakfast and wifi! The Best Best Western in Brooklyn, New York!

Great little hotel in Brooklyn. Secure parking included without additional fee. Area is a mixture of old and new, and looks daunting, but is hotel is clean, pleasant and comfortable. Near many restaurants and a 20 minute subway ride to Manhattan.

"Good staff"

I've stayed here a few times in the last few months. It's convenient to the in laws. Big comfy bed. The important "free's"... Parking parking and parking....breakfast and internet, too. Most important feature to this hotel is Karen. Karen works at the front desk in the evening. She's good.....real good. She should be the boss. Thank you Karen for taking care of our group at a recent function we held at BW. We will stay with you again. Say hi to Karen!

stayed for 2 nights & fairly ok location. 5 minute walk to the nearest subway & 25mins to Times Square. Rooms were small but clean. A/c wasnt working properly. Below average breakfast. However very helpful front desk. Appreciate it.

Everything was great except the breakfast. The bacon and eggs were terrible. The people at the desk were very helpful and pleasant. The room was clean and it was very quiet. The check-in clerk recommended the floor where we would find the quietest rooms and she was right.

Hotel room very small but very clean and having breakfast included was good The breakfast room was self service but enough to start you off for the day Subway just outside the hotel so easy to get about although half hour to get into centre of NYC and a nice supermarket next door to pick up some fruit, drinks etc

I had a very pleasant overnight stay. The location was ideal and convenient to where I had to visit in Brooklyn. Additionally, the complementary parking was a definite plus. Lastly, the breakfast was quite a surprise. It was full of variety and appetizing.

"Good Hotel for a short stay"

My go to hotel when staying in Brooklyn Bed-stuy area. Very clean and comfortable hotel. On-site free parking is a PLUS. Always friendly staff. My suggestions will be to make the doors close a little quieter. I was awaken early in the morning by the room next to me because of the opening and slamming of the door a few times. Also getting into the parking lot was a bit tricky. I had to reverse in to get into the bigger lot. Perhaps a sign posted or changing the direction of the gate might help.

3 weeks stay going into 1 month.front desk ,very nice ladies. The place is clean, elevator very spacious .comfortable room. I would definitely recommend. I did not have breakfast ,my husband did. Overall great stay.

I was hosted at that the Best Western Plus Arena by a Brooklyn Pastor when I spoke at her church. I checked in late and out early, but I found the staff to be hospitible and helpful. The room was clean and well appointed. It was altogether a pleasant one night stay.

I stayed here with a friend back in July and the staff was awesome! Check in/out was smooth and fast. I had a room with the fridge and microwave on the lower level of the hotel in the back being that the hotel is near a train. I slept great not a bit of noise from the train. The room was very very clean. Not a large room but enough space to maneuver around comfortably. The shower was great!! Overall all I will and would stay here again.

Comfortable hotel in the middle of Brooklyn. Fantastic breakfast, never had a spread like this with fresh croissants, turkey sausage that was actually juicy and edible, and eggs that werent powdery. Bed was comfortable, Only wish there had been a pool and hot tub. Surprisingly good stay!

I stayed at Best Western for 8 days and it was 8 wonderful and amazing days! staff was super accommodating , friendly and helpful , Desai, Karen ,Elizabeth, Lordes amazing service ! I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone looking for an amazing stay ,breakfast was great, housekeeping amazing , not to mention the location of the hotel was great! Desai needs a extra bonus wish I had tipped him extra ,I hope he is there when I return next year God's willing !

The room was pretty expensive for what was offered. It's in Brooklyn city and not very clean outside, a little rowdy with the trains going by. The room was either too cold or too hot, no middle ground. The rooms were small and the layout uncomfortable. Breakfast was ok, customer service was ok.

Good hotel, right off the Long Island Rail Road at the Nostrand Ave. stop. This location is also just one stop to the Barclays Center. Good local food and drink can be found one block from the hotel. There is parking, however it is very limited. Best bet is to take the train.

The hotel has rates that are good for Brooklyn, NY. The rooms are up-to-date. There is a subway stop within a block of the hotel. A friendly and helpful front desk. And for me, excellent off-the-street parking. Be aware that the hotel has two parking lots. One lot is behind the hotel, it is where most people go. In my experience, there are typically some spots there. However, backing out is a pain. The hotel also has a gated parking left to its immediate right (when facing from the street). Just ask the front desk to push the button to open the gate. I think there is rooms for a zillion cars, but I have never seen more than ten cars there. I recommend rooms that do not face the front, they might be quieter. For me, I like the front and the little noise there is fine with me. In fact, by tri-coincidence I have had room 412 three times now.

Convenient hotel for visiting our daughter in Brooklyn. Easy access to public transportation options and in walking distance of the Brooklyn Museum and Prospect Park. Is on Atlantic Ave, so there is street and train noise - quieter rooms in back.

Small hotel in Brooklyn with excellent staff and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was described as continental, so I expected coffe and pastries, maybe an English muffin. However, much more was offered --- eggs and meat, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, fruit, and delicious pastries from a local French bakery. Our stay was pleasant experience all around.

I arrived at the Best Western Plus Hotel Arena with my 90 year old mother. We were visiting from Florida to NY to attend a wedding July 2017. The staff jumped to our luggage, held authentic smiles and kindly greeted us each time we entered and exited the hotel. Elizabeth the counter person was good enough to hold our luggage and also kept a large step stool so that mom was able to crawl easily into the comfy bed. The room was clean, had comfortable beds and even had a refrigerator to store the cold cuts from the wonderful healthy grocery on the corner. Near the train for easy access to the city. I was extremely happy with the hotel, the breakfast and the awesome attention received during my stay.

New, clean, efficient and very friendly and helpful staff. No, I didn't get the type of room I requested I.e. Away from the elevators and on a corner. We were placed right next to the elevator and to the breakfast room!! However, it is a quiet hotel on the whole, although busy. Fortunately, we are experiencing jet lag and are awake at 5 a.m. When we can hear the kitchen staff greeting each other. It would have been a problem but it wasn't .

What an incredible find!! Reasonably priced, this hotel truly has the friendliest atmosphere I've ever experienced at an NYC hotel. Every employee goes above and beyond to offer a welcoming experience to travelers. In addition to FREE PARKING, this hotel provides breakfast each morning. The Brooklyn location, close to the subway, offers a great alternative to higher priced Manhatten hotels. The neighborhood offers many local dining options, as well. This is absolutely a gem of a hotel!!

On the plus side, convenient location, secured parking, breakfast and friendly staff. The experience ends there, this hotel has a number of guest rooms (about 10) in the basement, they call it level C but it is the basement with tiny prison cell like window. There are a number of mechanical rooms which meant during the middle of one night banging and a high pitched sound was heard repeated as something was being worked on. The carpet is so dirty that a pair of white socks were blacked after a few hours in the room. If you can get a guarantee upstairs room, might be worth considering otherwise check out other hotels.

Hotel staff was very hospitable! Hotel free breakfast was hot and plentiful unlike previous reviews posted! Hotel was also quiet, unlike previous reviews. Great location with plenty of stores and local eateries within walking distance of the hotel. Also great access to local subways and bus routes; no need for a car! Hotel was very clean. Bigger than I'd expected for a NYC hotel! Best thing about th hotel.... Additional Discount upon arrival, if you can solve the rubics cube they give you at the front desk!! They will even allow you to take it to your room to solve it and bring it back for the additional discount.

Given this hotel's location in an industrial section of interior Brooklyn, I found the Best Western Arena a very pleasant surprise. Everything about the room — king bed, good air quality, wireless internet, television with good access, shower – was good. So, too, was the ability to pr my car as part of the rate.

The is was my first stay at the BW in Bed Stuy. We found the staff extremely helpful and professional.The hotel was clean, the room surprisingly big enough...esp the bathroom...and the bed very comfortable. A fridge and microwave was a nice touch as were the complimentary water bottles in the fridge. We would certainly stay here again...oh, and the free parking was what really made this the 'go to' hotel for us, over picking another.

Everything was great from beginning to end. We were greeted at the front desk and given the rundown on what to expect in terms of breakfast and other amenities, as well as places to visit during our stay. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and we were pleasantly surprised to find that our room was equipped with both a microwave and a mini-fridge. All of the staff were courteous, and the breakfast was great too. We'll definitely be returning.

the front desk staff r unprofessional and rude and some staff are very troublesome and it took us 40 minutes to check out while the staff know we have a uber outside waiting for 40 minutes. the service was really unacceptable and that the manager said he wouldn't charge my card that was used for booking the hotel and that the card used for payment can be switched when we check out BUT they charged the card i used for booking without me even knowing until i got a notification from the bank and since i specifically told the staff not to charge THAT CARD cuz of the limit they still eff-ing did it now i have over limit fee to pay . apparently that's not the definition of ' being able to switch the card for payment' overall the hotel was in a good location and was quite clean but the service and attitude of the staff really ruined my whole brooklyn experience.

Book ed this for 2 nights as our daughter was running a race (Prospect Park to Coney Island) We wanted a hotel where we wouldn't have to use the car the whole time we were there. We were happy with the location, the staff was excellent, the entire hotel (room, fit center, breakfast room) was immaculate. Free parking was on the hotel grounds. Lots of eateries in the area.

I stayed here for 3 nights, the hotel was super clean and staff so friendly.. nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast looked delicious and a huge choice. You won't be disappointed with your stay here. I will be going back next year but for a week.

So we booked this hotel online. Didn't know what to expect, didn't know the neighborhood. Needless to say, when we got off the train we were not too sure what we had gotten ourselves into. One step into this hotel and we were so impressed. The staff was AMAZING! The rooms were spacious, super clean, immaculate. I will be back to this hotel when visiting Brooklyn. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel.

Absolutely wonderful staff.Cleopatra, Jessica, Tevon and Elizabeth are fantastic. They accommodated our every need and then some. The area, while not the best looking is absolutely safe. We never had any concerns for our safety whatsoever. Hotel probably not recommended for families as not lots for children to do there.

Hotel staff very friendly, Rooms Very Clean, the only Hotel in the area that offered parking. The breakfast to die for. I am tempted to call them back to ask them where they get their pastries from. The internet wasn't fast, but they had a computer in the lobby I was able to use. If ever in Brooklyn again will definitely stay there again.

This is the perfect hotel for my wife and I when visiting our daughter in Crown Heights. The price is a great bargain -- usually less than $200/night. The rooms are comfortable, immaculate and quiet. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The LIRR is literally at the front door and the A only a block away. Parking seems to be usually available and it's free. The Arena has a homey feel not usually found in a chain.

Great stay. I stayed in a quiet cellar level room, after a stressful trip. Just a few days to refuel and be near work. Perfect central location, distance to home and work is just right. Staff, accommodating! The breakfast kept me full all day! Great addition to the neighborhood. Thank You BW!!

I hate to tell others about this place because then I may not be able to get a room next time I need one. What a great place and convenient if you need to go to Brooklyn or anywhere in New York on a budget. The employees were extremely nice, the parking lot was very handy since we were just stopping over on our way somewhere else and had a car. The breakfast was great and the fitness center a pleasant surprise for this type of hotel. The convenience to the Long Island Railroad and MTA lines was also great. Outstanding overall.

The parking lot has greatly expanded - a big plus. A new specialty deli opened a block away that offers great custom-made salads - a great and affordable dinner option. Rooms are rather small for two persons, but adequate. Room finishes are good quality and comfortable.

Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. We requested a handicap room and one was not ready at the time of our arrival. Karen took us to the breakfast room and gave us tea while we waited. The wait was very short and we were taken to our room, she also helped us with our bags. Our shower did not work properly and the young lady at the desk quickly came to our room and got it fixed. We were very happy with the breakfast each morning. We could not ask for better service then what we received.

Won't complain about the room but the staff service is something I would never deal with again at this particular location. The hotel itself is average but comfortable the staff, except for one was absolutely horrendous and unwelcoming. Never been to a hotel that didn't have trash bags.

My daughter and son-in-law overbooked their guest room, so we decided to stay at the Best Western Arena. We were very happy to have a clean, comfortable room. Very convenient to travel around Brooklyn and Manhattan. The staff was friendly and helpful. Don't be put off by the industrial look of the street. You can hear the sound of the train it goes by. For me this is a plus. I grew up in Brooklyn and lived in Manhattan. I'm a city girl. It's close enough to neighborhoods where you can walk, eat and check out Brooklyn. We will definitely be back.

Stayed two nights at this location, the interaction with the staff members, Karen and Darryll was phenomenal including their professionalism. Upon settling in, I noticed I did not have my phone charger, Darryl & Karen was kind enough to loan me theirs during my stay. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were clean, the refridgerator and microwave in this King size room came in handy including the flat screen TV. There is also oodles of places to eat during the day. At night take a 10 minutes ride to the Clover Club in Cobble Hill downtown Brooklyn to enjoy their invented cocktail. Sugestion...would be nice to have the chambermaid restock the water in the fridge! Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Extremely happy and satisfied guest. Larry N

Despite having personally made mistakes in reservations, the concierge, Darryl, was kind enough to ensure that I got a room for the night despite how late it was. He was also quick to ensure that I had all the amenities I needed for the night, while preparing transportation for me in the morning. The room was clean, as it is in most chain hotels, but the service here sets it above the rest.

We stayed here for 6 nights in October and it was a wonderful time. Our room was cozy and clean and we were well taken care of by the staff. Our room faced the Long Island Railroad but we did not find the train loud and it did not keep us awake at night.The free breakfast was ok, I really did not like the egg patties, scrambled would have been better. The neighbourhood is up and coming but don't let that turn you off, there are lots of stores and small restaurants close by and we never felt threatened at any time, even at night. The subway is a very short walk away, very convenient. The very best part of this hotel is Darryl. This young man will do anything for you and he takes very good care of the people in the hotel. Hugs to him. We even got a private livery service for our ride to the airport. Stay here!

We used this Best Western as a rest stop for a cruise that we were taking out of the Brooklyn Cruise terminal. We have stayed at other Best Western hotels and chose it because of prior experience. The location is not the greatest. There is a commuter train stop directly across the street. My wife and I had a room on the opposite side of the hotel while our friends had a room on the side that was across from the train track. The activity of the train did not lend for a good night's sleep for them. That being said, the staff was friendly and professional. They were helpful in setting up transportation to the cruise terminal. The rooms were what we were accustomed to for Best Western: clean, equipped with a refrigerator, a microwave oven, a flat screen TV and the bed was comfortable. The free breakfast was not as good was other Best Westerns. Around the corner was a variety of places to eat and shop.

Perfect place to stay if ever in Brooklyn. Only a mile and a half from the Barclays Center, which was the reason we chose to stay there. The price was great, the room was clean and cozy, and the staff was wonderful. Darryl at the front desk was so sweet, accommodating, welcoming, and friendly. Go see him if you need a place to stay! Breakfast buffet in the morning was a plus. ;)

Check in was easy simple fast... room was clean and comfortable... A/C, microwave, fridge, flat screen tv, robe, slippers, coffee maker, safe. Great breakfast... bacon/sausages eggs pastry pancakes etc. complimentary. No need to find a place to have breakfast. Has tables and chairs to enjoy it. One block away from the subway.

At first sight the area is scary... but the hotel is Great!! The free breakfast buffet is awesome. The rooms are clean and it's within a couple blocks of the metro and right next to the railroad. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is in a very busy area of Brooklyn, with surroundings ranging from prosperous small businesses to boarded-up buildings. The staff is very welcoming. I was impressed that when I passed through the lobby a couple of hours after registering, the person at the desk addressed me by name "Good evening, Mr. ~); and a different desk clerk did the same thing when we returned a few hours later. The room was compact but comfortable, with a good (king size) bed. A queen would have been fine, and have provided more room for moving around. The breakfast was very basic, but adequate. There are a dozen (free) parking spaces behind the hotel, and it's first come, first served. We had no problem when we checked in at 3pm, and there were still spaces at 10pm. It wouldn't be easy to find other parking in that area, though.

The hotel looks nice but is not in the safest of neighborhoods. If you are doing business this is not a hotel designed for that. The rooms are nice but you may encounter noise, from the train. I would recommend not renting a car.

He was so sweet that he let us park out front due to us not being from around the Brooklyn area. He put us first before his self and was very genuine. We had been on a cruise that ended at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. A cab to the hotel has a $25 dollar flat fee and a cab to LaGuardia is $45 flat fee. Still cheaper than the Cruise line transfer. The room we had (402) was really only big enough for one bed but it had two crammed in there. The beds were comfortable enough but one was right against the air conditioner on the window wall and the other bed blocked the door way which made it difficult to access the washroom. The breakfast was good, real eggs and a machine that made pancakes but the meat was either turkey bacon or turkey sausage. It tasted OK but I would have preferred pork products. It might have been that way because the hotel is not too far south of a large Jewish neighbourhood. The two things that lowered the rating for me were high rates for a room in Brooklyn (including the myriad of state and city taxes on travelers which added over twenty dollars per day to the room rate) the room was $200 a night. I know that it is cheep compared to Manhattan rates but we were not in Manhattan. Next time I would look into staying in New Jersey. The other thing was more to do with the room we had, the train ran right next to the hotel and without ear plugs, we wouldn't have been able to sleep. Conversely the hotel desk staff were excellent, Elizabeth helped up with directions and provided a pleasant atmosphere and Travon (I hope I got his name right) was very good with our travel arrangements to the airport.

I have stayed in other hotels in this immediate area and sorry I did not stay at this Best Western before. I was impressed right at the start with the professional demeanor of the staff. The room was fresh and new. Well built facility as I did not hear any traffic or train noise at all. Pro-tip: back into your parking space it will be much easier to get out!

This hotel has a great location for visiting the city and has fantastic staff. Darryl was behind the desk when we arrived and was very helpful with finding parking as the hotel lot was full. He also gave us suggestions for dining and things to do. Every time I saw his smile behind the front desk, I smiled. Tavon, who had a different shift, was also helpful with a great burger suggestion and getting us a taxi. Really, these two gentlemen are among the best hotel staff we have experienced in the city. Our double room was quite tiny but had what we needed. The fridge made it nice as we always grab extra waters at the Walgreens to have for our days of exploring the city. There is also a microwave. The hotel is 2 blocks from the Nostrand subway station (A and C trains) and is directly in front of the LIRR Nostrand stop that can get you to JFK airport quickly and easily. I have visited NYC 6 times in the past 15 months as our son is going to school there. This was my first time to stay in Brooklyn, and I can't wait to get back to explore some more. There are many ethnic food options around here, and I felt quite safe. I even walked 2 blocks alone and did some laundry at a laundromat as we had been on a long road trip before our arrival. I will definitely consider this hotel in the future.

Stayed 3 nights in September. Got a great rate online, and the hotel was adequate for our needs. Staff was friendly, and helpful when we needed them. Darryl at the front desk was awesome. Breakfast was on the average side, and included egg patties, turkey sausage/bacon, cheese slices, DIY pancakes, Greek yogurt, and pastries (which were very good quality). There is a subway station 2 blocks from the hotel that will get you to Times Square in about 20 mins for $2.75. Rooms are small, but that's just how it is in NYC. None of the rooms have a skyline view. Everything was fairly clean in the room, but found hair in the sheets, towels, and bathroom. And everything was in working order except the bathroom door lock which was no biggie for us. The neighborhood did not feel unsafe, even late at night, as many reviewers have Stated. I could see some people feeling that way (there are graffiti markings on several buildings around the hotel), if they are not used to big cities--it's not the best neighborhood in NYC, but it's far from the worst. Didn't have a car, but didn't see any parking at the hotel either. Overall, I would recommend to budget conscious travelers, but if you're looking to get the "city" experience, stay in Manhattan. This is a good option to experience Brooklyn.

I booked this hotel to attend the West Indian-American Labor Day Parade in Brooklyn (the largest parade in North America). I decided on this hotel because it was conveniently located to the carnival activities and was reasonable priced. The hotel is located close to bustling Nastrand Avenue and walking distance to the subway and the long island rail road. There are lots of small restaurants and convenient shops on Nastrand Avenue. The area is relatively safe and an unarmed guard is at the property at nights. Check-in was efficient and friendly. I booked a Deluxe King Room and was given Rm. #309 which overlooked the parking lot. The rooms was small but adequate and had all the amenities for a 3.0+ star hotel in addition to a fridge, safe and microwave oven. Parking at the hotel is free but space is limited. It was a bit challenging because the hotel was completely full. The free Wi-Fi worked well and had good strength. The free breakfast was okay but not great and the area was kept clean. Jessica, the breakfast attendant was exceptional and has the greatest of personalities. Cleopatra, the General Manager was always super friendly. I plan to stay here for future Brooklyn visits if the price remain competitive.

Budget few frills hotel that fit our needs just right. Clean rooms and comfortable beds, included basic breakfast to get your day started fast. Got extremely lucky to get a free parking spot and there were two! (9 spots total) All double bed rooms are on the side of the raised train tracks. Surrounding neighborhood appears rough but we walked the couple blocks to the subway fine. Walking streets lined with brownstones to the Brooklyn Children's museum was nice, although the quality of the exhibits have gone way downhill since my last review.

We (a couple) stayed for two nights at the end of Aug. 2016. We picked this hotel because of the price, because it was near a venue where we would be listening to some music, and because of other reviews. The hotel was a very short walk from the Nostrand Ave subway stop and we were greeted in a friendly and helpful manner at the front desk by Darryl. The room was large by NYC standards and everything worked as it should. The hotel was in an unusual location, surrounded by car repair places, but it did not feel at all dangerous. Our room was in the back and it was clean and quiet. Tevon at the front desk was also very friendly and helpful when we were checking out and needed some assistance. Overall, we were very pleased.

I had read some of the unpleasant reviews and was unsure what I would encounter as we would be there for six nights. To be honest, my stay was not bad at all. The room although quite small, was clean and efficient as it contained a small microwave and a small refrigerator. The hotel is located near the Long Island Railroad Train so initially I had to get accustomed to the humming as the train went by. By the 2nd day it was just background noice and did not interrupt my sleep. I did not care very much for the physical location of the hotel but encountered no problems as we did not walk in the area at night. Breakfast was very good and had a nice assortment of food including eggs (fried and hard-boiled), bacon or sausage, an assortment of fruits, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, breads and Danish. The staff was always very pleasant and helpful. They greeted us warmly every time we stepped out the elevator or arrived in the lobby. The one flaw was the parking. There are only a few parking spots in the rear of the hotel and it is 1st come, 1st served. It is NY afterall so that is somewhat expected. The fortunate ones who obtain a parking spot, should be happy there is no charge for parking :-)

I actually booked this hotel because it advertised free parking It is across from the elevated LIRR which has some noise also walking distance to subway BUT they have 8-10 small cramped parking spots for 40-45 rooms Essentially NO PARKING they try to direct you to a pay lot a block away but that is usually full as well and only takes small cars Next lot is 4-5 blocks away Parking on streets difficult in sketchy area but was able to find some 3-4 blocks away Rem alternate side parking rules start at 8:30 here Rooms are clean dark and small No room for suitcases One room we had almost to climb over one bed to get to the bathroom Breakfast is OK Attendant on premises to refill and try and help you get what you want There are better alternatives but don't come here if you need parking

I was not expecting much when I drove up - it is in a very industrial area of Brooklyn. The rooms were very clean and comfortable - the air conditioning kept the room nice and cool on one of the hottest/humid days of the year. Also had a small fridge and microwave in the room. The room was on the small side but not bad at all for NYC and we were only staying one night. The free parking was extremely convenient and the staff could not have more friendly or helpful. Also very close to the subway which is a plus.

Even though this property is in a very run-down section of Brooklyn, the short walk during daylight hours to the subway took less than 5 minutes. The staff was all exceptionally friendly and helpful. The morning complimentary breakfast was fresh and hot. This property is well worth the price and only 15 minutes to Manhattan by subway.

See all previous comments. We stayed at other BWs and they all had better accommodations, etc. Brooklyn Arena has only location going for it..... We were there for six nights and the room was cramped for four adults. Thing is we booked months in advance and the hotel could have done better......

I booked 6 rooms for a wedding. Staff was very accommodating in getting us grouped together which made sharing make up and sewing kit convenient. The rooms were clean and updated. The windows are excellent as we were not bothered by L train out front. Parking is extremely limited but there is a parking garage within a half block. Excellent pastrami sandwiches from David's Brisket and Deli on Norstrand. Special thanks to Adex, night watchman who was so kind in helping my mother with her air conditioner as well as finding me water bottles. Front desk staff--Elizabeth and others were amazingly helpful in mapping out how to get to subway and giving advice about Central Park. Florence from housekeeping kept the place spic and span. Thank you!

This hotel is located on a busy street in a rather industrial looking part of Brooklyn but once you enter the hotel, you'll find clean and comfortable accomodations. The complimentary breakfast was very good; we were there for a week and there was enough variety of breakfast items during our stay. Parking was free in the small parking lot at the rear of the hotel, but very limited to 10 to 12 cars. Staff were helpful in calling a cab and friendly overall. Would stay here again my next trip!

I like it when an hotel does not overhype itself. This is a budget hotel with very good services. My husband and I had a decent time to rest away from the stress of New York before driving back to Pennsylvania. My only issue is the parking but then that's a common New York problem and if you arrive early enough, you'd be fine. The offering at breakfast could be a bit better though but then you're not looking to stuff your face so it will do. Totally recommended.

Dirty bathroom, went to "breakfast ", no eggs left no sausage left, nothing but sugary pastries which I can't eat. They advertise free parking, not true! You have to park in a garage two blocks away on sketchy streets. Rats running from trash bags on the street when you try to walk to local restaurants.

I would definatly recommend this Hotel for stay in Brooklyn. It is near the subway, the breakfast is superb, staff helpful and the room excellent. Area is a bit dodgy but we never felt unsafe. Just ask for a room that is not on the first floor and not near the lift.

I always read lots of reviews before booking a hotel. I did the same this time, but for once I do not agree with all the positive reviews. It is not in a nice neighborhood at all. But it is close to a subway station. The hallways and rugs and dark and old. Rooms are small and have dark, dated green carpet. The room was clean, though, but not at all welcoming. Breakfast was fine but there was literally nowhere to sit. So you either took the food with you, stood and ate or just left, as I did. All in all, the hotel is "FINE" but not very. I won't stay there again.

We stayed here for four nights and found it to be really comfortable, the pillows and mattresses were soft and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The hotel was also very quiet. All the hotel staff that I spoke to were very polite and helpful and provided us with directions when needed. They also stored our luggage and booked us a taxi on our last day. The hotel is also very good value for money costing just over £400 pounds for three people for four nights.

We spend 12 days in this hotel. The qualification is good. It's clean but no to much, for example, they don't change the sheets until we asked, they don't do the bed again, only cover the sheets. They don't clean the carpet. The parking is first came, first served. I must parked at the street at 2 blocks far. The breakfast is enough. After 12 days, the same all days. There are not variety of things, but you have one of each one, but you have all that you want. The people is servicial, the customer manager ask if you need something every day during the breakfast. It's near 2 blocks from the Subway, this stations Nostrand is open for the regular line C and the expressed line A. The street is not good, smell to urine both sides of the street, sofas on the sidewalk, it's pretty, but if you go 1 block for every direction is better. Comercial or Residencial. We felt at the begining not secure, but we arrive late between 11PM to 2AM many days and we didn't suffer any incident. We walk from the subway or from the Bus. Of course, if you use a CAR and you arrive at this hour, you can't get parking space at the hotel. The hotel has only 1 elevator to the Lobby and other elevator to the breakfast floor. We leaved our luggage the last day and they give us a ticket for each one. It's well administrated. We used the general restroom when we take the luggage again.

I stayed here for work and was here for 5 days. Breakfast was great, free wifi and less than .5 mile to the nearest metro access. I enjoyed the room, it was smaller than I had seen before, but was okay for my stay it was just me. There was a refrigerator in the room too, so that was nice to be able to store drinks in.

Having stayed in Manhattan on our previous trips to New York, we thought we'd experience Brooklyn this time. I admit we didn't know what to expect and kept an open mind about the area. Couldn't have been happier with the hotel. Yes the general area is not flashy and a bit gritty but it is just a normal residential area with some great local convenience stores, food outlets and a direct subway line (Nostrand Avenue is a two minute walk) into Manhattan, Coney Island and Rockaway Beach plus the LIRR (Long Island Railroad) is directly outside the hotel and takes you straight to JFK and beyond into Long Island. Like any downtown area you just need to be a bit street smart, but we spent a lot of time going to and thro to the station and down to the Nostrand Avenue Pub which is a five minute walk from the hotel, both night and day and we had no problem whatsoever. Places to see are Prospect Park, Brooklyn Heights, Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick and Coney Island and Rockaway Beach if you fancy some seaside fun. The hotel was faultless, clean, airy, extremely comfortable giant bed, big TV and fridge and microwave in the room. A complimentary breakfast buffet is served between 6.30 and 10 am with an extensive range of food and drink including hot food, cereals, pancakes, pastries, yoghurt, fruit, coffee, tea and a choice of fresh juices! Plus free bottled water is available on reception. And finally I have to commend the staff, Nia on reception was a very welcome face when we first arrived after a long delayed journey! All the staff were really genuine and friendly and helpful including the reception staff, the breakfast lady and the house keepers who made sure we came back each night to a lovely made bed and fresh towels after a long tiring day in the city. Would definitely stay here again and we will recommend Brooklyn to anyone thinking of trying something alternative to the bright lights and high prices of Manhattan.

We stayed here from 4/27/16 to 5/2/16 as an alternative to higher price properties in Manhattan. The hotel is very clean,well maintained and the staff is very friendly. It's about a 3 block walk to the subway. The area feels relatively safe, but I wouldn't recommend someone walking alone at night here.

We stayed there for a night last year. It seemed like a pretty rough neighborhood wich is the reason we only stayed one night. There wasn't anything wrong with the hotel. It was a nice room. I guess the breakfast wasn't anything special. At the end of the day it was a good experience but we wanted to live more central.

We made a reservation Sept 28th, 2015 for a 3 night future stay at this hotel- (May 18-20th 2016). We also had friends who made a reservation the same time. We were traveling in from the west coast. When we made this reservation, we used our American Express card for the confirmation. In December or January (2016) our American Express card had to be cancelled due to being compromised. We were not worried about any of our travel plans though as they all had been confirmed in Sept., and we knew as is custom, you present a credit card at check in, and pay at check out, if not paid in full at booking. I did call this hotel twice during the weeks before our travel though and asked if everything was in order and also asked for directions and best mode of transportation to the hotel. I was told by the evening staff member that everything was fine, and she gave me directions and mentioned the metro or taxi. I was never told there was any problem with my reservation. I had a confirmation # and would be paying in full at check-out. When we arrived by Taxi ($45) - the evening of the 18th we were told that our reservation had been cancelled 18 hours earlier and that the hotel was full. They informed us that the city had Graduation ceremonies going on all over town. It was apparent to us that they cancelled our reservation so they could book at a much higher rate for others. They could not help us, We had no reservation. So, we sat in the waiting room for an hour (at 8:00 in the evening for about 2 hours) trying to find somewhere to stay. We ended up finding something on Wall Street in Manhattan. We then had to take another Taxi ($35) to that hotel. Over all this was a terrible experience. Would never stay at this hotel nor in this area in any future visits.

Stay somewhere else. Don't listen to other reviews! Our room smelled like a skunk. The carpet wad very dirty and the subway train is right outside the window- very noisy! The neighborhood is not safe and the parking situation is ridiculous. The bathrooms are worn out and dirty. Look elsewhere. It's not a good hotel. Way over priced and nasty.

This hotel has professional and courteous staff. The rooms were clean and the location was great to other spots in Brooklyn, some within walking distance. Parking is limited but you can find a nearby side street that will allow you to park you'll be find. Just make sure to following the parking rules. I would stay here again, when I am in the area again.

Stayed late april for a week. Nice and friendly staff! Especially Sharon, she and the others were always polite and helpful. Nice and clean big room, big screen TV with lots of channels, refrigerator and coffee machine and microwave. Nice bed, slept very good. Breakfast was good, although weak coffee for a Swede.... Neighbourhood a bit rough late at night, but no problems for us. Many opportunities in transportation. A walk of less than 5 min to subway station. 25 min walk to Barclays Center. Train just outside the hotel. The train makes some noice, but was ok for us. In total I´ll say "much bang for the buck". I´ll come back next time I´m in NYC.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. I only needed a room to crash for a night that was close to the start of the Brooklyn half marathon, which was the next morning. Turned out a few others did the same. Neighborhood is 'industrial' so you'll likely need to Uber it to wherever you are going.

although this area has a history of not being the best in New York City, we found it convenient with easy access to both subway and bus transportation and many local ethnic restaurants. The area is gradually gentrifying and although you do not want to have a street-side room because of the Long Island Railroad running by their otherwise it was very pleasant with a cordial staff and good breakfast. If returning to the area I would not hesitate to stay there again. the free parking was an added benefit.

Your front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Nia. We stayed for 5 nights and it was a very good experience, except one day they forgot to clean our room. Everything felt very modern and mostly clean. The breakfast was very good, nice variety. Good coffee. I would recommend adding muffins and cinnamon rolls to the menu instead of Croissants. Breakfast staff was nice, and I liked the message on the whiteboard. I always prefer to stay with Best Western. Also we got free parking, although they could not guarantee it.

Located in such a bad neighborhood that we were afraid to get out of the car. We cancelled immediately, but had to forfeit one night's charge. Our safety and peace of mind left us no choice but to cancel. I can't believe that Best Western's standards are so low that it would include this property.

The hotel was perfect for our needs. It was very close (2 long blocks to the subway) to the transportation that we used each day. Between the subway and the hotel was a restaurant (Dave's Brisket) that we went to 3 times in 7 days - the final time to take sandwiches to the airport) The area around the hotel was a little run down, but we did not feel unsafe.

We arrived early and inquired about early check-in but none were available. We asked the woman at the desk if we could stay in our car until a room became open. She offered to come get us if one did and sure enough about 1/2 hour later she came out and knocked on our window. This was so appreciated as we were tired from traveling. The room was clean with a refrigerator, microwave and a closet that had a robe and slippers in it. The shower was nice with good hot water. Location was convenient to the Barclay Center. There is very limited parking in the back. Complimentary breakfast was good with a nice variety. Overall an excellent stay!!

Attended a friend's wedding. Location was idea and the price was right. Room was located away from the main road and raised subway track. Bed was comfortable, bathroom clean and amenities basic but did that job. Good size fridge with bottled water, microwave and coffee maker. Although our room was located close to the elevator, we did not notice any loud noises. Complimentary breakfast was a cut above. Eggs, turkey bacon, hot and cold cereals and a nice variety of pastries and bagels. Things were well laid out and plenty of tables to sit down and eat. Note: scrambled eggs and turkey sausage are precooked and reheated in the microwave. I would not hesitate to come back here again.

We were there on vacation for the first time in Brooklyn. We always stay in Manhattan when we come to New York. Thought to do something different this time. We took the subway from the airport which was easy. Upon approaching the block where the hotel is located, we were a little hesitant...the rail station is located right in front of the hotel entrance and the area surrounding the hotel seemed dark and downright a little scary. We later learned that it looked worse than what we experienced staying there. We were surprised at how comfortable our room was and although not roomy, it had everything we needed, including a refrigerator. The breakfasts were the biggest surprise. The offerings were quite tasty and as homemade-like as you can get without a full kitchen. Decent coffee, tea or juices, and turkey bacon or sausage and the scrambled seasoned egg "discs" that fit perfectly on English muffins. Pancakes looked great and nice choices of milks and cereals and yogurts. The nuts were first rate (with almonds & cashews, too!) and there was even peanut butter for toast. We were there for 5 days and each day I looked forward to breakfast. I appreciated the staff there as well--always professional and cheerful. It made us want to tip everyone at every turn. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

A good hotel in this part of Brooklyn and highly accessible from JFK airport and to the the subway stations. A free parking is available at the back of the hotel on a first come-first served basis. Room was small but clean and have comfortable beds. Hot buffet and adequate breakfast fare is served daily and sufficient to energize your day for any New York activity. Staff were helpful , upbeat and accommodating!!!

It was one of the best hotels stays I have had. The rooms and the common areas were clean. the train is right across the street above ground. I had a room with the window facing the front and the running of the train did not annoy me at all. I plan on staying again in the future.

this hotel had 10 parking spaces and exceeded well over10 rooms. was told parking was a first come first serve basis after asking about parking. asked to be notified when a spot becomes available and was never notified. was advised to find street parking. safe in room did not work. no privacy curtains for lower rooms, only sheer. booked a room for two people and only got one robe and one set of slippers. this is more like a motel rather than a hotel. could hear people in the next room talking, music, and TV over the one in our room. rooms doors slam shut and echo through out hall way.

Overall a very good experience with this hotel. Clean, excellent repair, helpful & polite staff. Free parking is VERY limited. First come, first serve. That was the only frustration. However, already knowing what a fiasco parking is in NYC, it was still easier than having to try and find a place to park EVERY night. :)

Location is not the best, but the service is excellent! Jessica, the breakfast lady is so funny and helpful. The receptionists especially Tiffany has patience to answer my annoying questions, even the housekeeping employees, they are willing to help you. (I forgot their names). Being tourist is not easy, you know! (: I recommend this hotel.

Hotel, service and staff were excellent during our 10 night stay during the Christmas and New Year. The neighborhood of Bedford and Stuyvesant was dark and without any interesting places to see. 500 metres to the nearest metro station. Trip to Time Square takes about 30 minutes.

My boyfriend and I visited Brooklyn for a birthday party in Crown Heights and needed to find a location near by. This Best Western fit the need. Why I chose it: Location, free breakfast, free wi-fi and free parking. Location: Although I didn't take the train, there is a station super close to the hotel. I don't remember being disturbed by the sound of the train - which is awesome! Breakfast: It was your basic continental breakfast. They had pancakes, croissants, English muffins, toast, eggs, sausage and a variety of cereals, which they served in the Breakfast Room on the 2nd floor. Wi-Fi: The signal was strong and I was able to do what I needed. I can't speak much on its ability to steam music or video. Parking: Although parking is free, it is scarce and it is first come first serve. I believe there were about 8 - 10 parking spots behind the building and 2-3 in front of the building. Since we drove from Boston, we parked the car and took cabs and Uber to the near-by locations we were heading to. We didn't want to chance loosing our precious parking spot. Customer Service: The customer service was great! The two women at the front desk were very friendly, hospitable and helpful. They were great! Also to note: I noticed a computer and printer in the lobby which I think may be available for guest use. I didn't need it, nor did I notice anyone else using it. But it is good to know it is there is needed.

Seating area near reception dirty and so cold from the revolving doors. Tiny room, very cold then very hot with a non opening window. No wardrobe or drawers just mental hangers on pegs. No iron available. No UK or English speaking TV channels. No toiletries and towels ragged. Very limited selection in the 'a la carte' restaurant with staff more interested in talking to each other than serving customers. No room service, and the Sky bar staff refused to let me take a drink to my room. Breakfast was better but a little chaotic, sorry about the pun but felt a little like a bun fight. Then to find no table available...had to share a small table with others. My advise...is to go else where, what I will be doing on my next visit.

For a NYC area hotel you can't beat the price. My room was cozy and clean. Hotel is located on Atlantic Ave a couple of blocks south of Fulton Street, lots of shops nearby and the neighbourhood is lively during the day....after dark is a different story. Parking is free but limited to 10 spaces on a first come basis. Breakfast is good, good coffee, juice, cereal, bread/toast, some fruit, yogurt, etc. The hot items such as eggs, sausages, pancakes are pre-made and therefore I would rate as satisfactory...OK for a quick protein hit but not a culinary treat. This hotel was perfect for me, cheap, clean, new and located only 1 mile from where I needed to be during my visit to Brooklyn, an easy walk to Bedford-Stuyvesant neighbourhood. Lots of public transit options nearby (subway and buses). The elevated subway runs next door to this hotel (north side) but honestly this did not bother me, mainly because I had a room facing south on the other side and the rooms were well insulated from the street and traffic noise.

After a pretty hectic work week my boyfriend and I had made plans to meet a friend for brunch on a Saturday. Since we would be in Brooklyn anyways the words "why not get a room?" came to mind. After using all hotel booking apps I could, I found that Hotwire gave me the best deal, though i did not know where i would be staying before I booked it. After confirming my reservation I was given the Best Western Arena hotel. I called the hotel and was greeted by a pleasant voice, Morgan. After reading up on the Arena hotel here on Tripadvisor I knew to call ahead of time for some much needed info. Morgan made sure I knew to get there right at check in time which was 3:00pm to get one of the highly sought after 10 free parking spots. We did as we were told after having brunch we drove straight to the hotel and "bam" we get a spot right in front of the hotel right under the Best Western sign! Morgan had to leave for the day, but a great girl named Nia ended up taking care of us for the rest of the night. Nia was extremely delightful and accommodating. She got us plenty of complimentary bottles of water besides the two that were already in the fridge, under the microwave and an extra bath robe with slippers. She also pointed out plenty of places to check out around the neighborhood. Thanks to her we had a great quest for Jamaican beef patties that were out of this world! We spent a wonderful night together barricaded in our room with beef patties to heat up in the microwave and dessert stored in our fridge. Then came the continental breakfast. Our room was located right across from the breakfast dining area so we definitely knew what time it was. I would give this breakfast my "Best not so Continental Breakfast" award. They had hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, turkey sausage, which I am a big fan of after eating so unhealthy the night before, and plenty of rolls to make sandwiches. Best of all they had an automatic pancake machine... yes they exist, I literally pushed a button and a minute later out came 2 fresh hot pancakes that I gladly melted butter on. After breakfast we packed up and checked out at 12:00pm Overall we had an absolutely amazing stay. We got exactly what we paid for and were very pleased. The only reason they did not get a perfect score with me is one exchange at the front desk with a gentleman in a suit. After having come back from a long walk we had asked for some water. The gentleman looked at me and said, "You know you have water in your fridge right?" I then said politely, "I had... which is why I am asking you for some now." He said nothing and gave me the waters with a not so cheery look on his face. It did not ruin my stay, but it did prevent this nice hotel from receiving a perfect review.

This hotel is very nice and the staff were terrific!! The location is scary. We were fortunate to have "safety in numbers". We were going to the Barclay Centre to see a hockey game. it was a 15 min brisk walk and a 5min cab to the Centre. There are no stores around the hotel for convenience items.

Very disappointed!!! 1. the website says theres a swimming pool and there definitely isnt. 2. The "fitness" room has 2-3 bikes in it and thats it. 3. The parking lot holds only 5 cars so when i got there the front desk said its first come and its not guaranteed so I had to park 4 long dark blocks away. 4. Once I got into the room it was so tiny i could barely walk around the bed and I am a small person. 5. The AC/heater didnt work and the towels were stained. Overall not worth the money they charge per room at all!!!

First thing u notice on arrival is the neighbourhood....Hotel is located in the crime-infested area of Bedford-Stuyvesant (BedStuy for short). I was told to avoid this neighbourhood whenever I visit Brooklyn, and there i was actually staying there a few niights ....then there is the train that runs right by the front door of the hotel, just across the street!!!!....then there is the parking, ten spots for the entire hotel. If u r lucky to get a spot...dont be too happy, u r gonna b blocked in by the not so lucky ones...then u have to wait up to 30 mins to get out....the gym room contans one treadmill, one multi-use machine and a broken eliptical.....I will never stay at this hotel ever again....and I will tell everyone I know to avoid this hotel.....dark stain on the Best Western brand

I was shocked that they built this hotel in so limited a space. However, my wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the amenities, excellent staff and consideration staff showed from the minute we arrived to and left. The front desk did an excellent job & the room was very clean. I suggest a room in the back if you want less street noise as the elevated train is right out front. If you need to be in the city, well, this hotel is located right in the city.

The previous reviews of this hotel are very accurate. The hotel is clean, rooms are nice/updated, I was able to get one of the 10 parking spots (a HUGE plus in that area), and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast the next morning was also a nice perk - nothing fancy, but the coffee and danish were good. My only (very minor) issue was that the hotel wasn't as close to the Barclay's Center as I thought - but that is my fault for assuming that "arena hotel" meant it was closer. It's about a (brisk) 20 minute walk to the arena. Very good stay overall. Thank you.

From the first phone call to check-in and check-out. I was welcomed very warmly and with a smile. This hotel was perfect for a short stay to visit Brooklyn, NY or See a show/game at the Barclays Center, Went to See Jimmy Buffett on New Years eve. Hotel was clean and neat. The Room was small for a family of 4 but that is how NYC hotels can be. They offer free parking which is on site for approximately 10 cars but they do offer alternative. The best little perk of this Hotel was the free continental plus Breakfast, which was excellent. The woman that was running it was so friendly and helpful, greeted everyone with a warm welcome. We were on the fifth floor and overlooking the elevated LI railroad, you can hear it but not to bad, I would recommend this for a short stay.

Best Western was an pretty ok stay for me. Mainly for 3 reasons: 1) When checking this place out on 3rd party websites, it is listed as having free parking. Even the actual site for this hotel vaguely describes the parking as "free based on availability". Now I see a hotel with parking in Brooklyn, thats pretty much a reservation, but for this hotel, the amount of parking, without a doubt should have been mentioned--because there are only 10 spaces, one being handicap. 5 floors, 56 rooms, 10 parking spaces. This should really be specified on their website as well as the third party websites. 2) If you do stay here, DO NO STAY ON THE CELLAR FLOOR. If I had known... The laundry room, the meeting rooms, the utility rooms--they are all on the cellar floor with a handful of rooms, mine included. The noise was ridiculous. The staff mostly, the people holding meetings in the conference rooms--it was too much, much too much noise because there is so much foot traffic. This is not blaming the staff of course, its just the location of the rooms make it impossible to avoid this noise. That said, if you stay here, and want to avoid heavy foot traffic along with noise, then request that you not be put on the cellar floor. 3) The wifi is slow. On my second day I got a parking spot which was good, but besides those two things, my stay here was great. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Had smiles on their faces and were generally very welcoming which was a relief after the long night I had before finally getting this spot. Not to mention there check out time is noon, which is good for late nights. If in Brooklyn, I would definitely stay here again. It was clean, but kind of dark and old feeling (thats mostly because I really just love lots of light, especially natural light, which you cant get on the cellar floor. Another reason not to stay on the cellar floor) The room, the single king was kind of small, perfect for a solo traveler or a couple. It was affordable, and provided a comfortable sleep. Elevator is wicked slow. Continental breakfast provided. Really nice staff, would recommend. I'd rate this more of a 3.5 because I would definitely stay here again if in the area, but cant quite give it a 4 because the noise was just ridiculous.

Close to the A train into Manhattan and close to many Brooklyn attractions as well. Easy two train commute to JFK. The staff are exceptionally friendly and easy-going. Don't be put off by the train in front of the hotel, the windows are double insulated and the noise of the train in not a problem. Sketchy looking building next door, but all will be well. You'll enjoy your stay and you'll be well taken care of while there.

If you want a comfortable, clean hotel in Brooklyn close to public transportation (bus, subway etc.) with helpful friendly staff then this is the place for you. If you are looking for a higher end hotel in a nice neighbourhood then it is not. We stayed 2 nights and were completely satisfied. Really impressed with the staff which for me is important.

The Hotel is actually quite nice and stands out from the surroundings. The receptionists and other employees are very helpful and dedicated, making the actual stay at the hotel a pleasant experience. Breakfast could be upgraded. I do not recommend the hotel for families with children, but this is due to the neithbourhood, which a night seems unpleasant. But altogether a nice stay - at a great price.

We had a pre criuse and post cruise stay for 5 and two days, yes the area could be better but we felt safe,close to subway direct trains to manhattan good takeaways and applebees nearby, local indian is very good. download a self walking tour of Brooklyn heights what a find amazing views felt so safe and the Brooklyn Mass transit museum in an old ghost subway is a must,we also got the subway to Coney island which is mostly above ground although the fairground was closed still worth a trip also Roosevelt Island using the ariel tram is great which you can use your metro card on,also not to miss is the highline dissused railway made into a garden starts close to Chelsea market get on or off at various places. The hotel is a gem clean rooms good bathroom plenty of space rooms at rear are quieter as the long island railway does pass elevated at the front,biulding work is going on at the rear and side but never disturbed us. The breakfast room is sparse but very very clean and the variety is good with some hot choices also fresh pancakes cerials eggs danish etc plenty of fruit etc all the staff are so helpful and the left luggage is so handy ,a taxi to the cruise terminal is approx 45$ same for JFK. Anyone who moans about this hotel go and pay treble downtown, we used the subway a lot never late but felt safe as with all of the city if you have time bike hire in the park is great as you can cover much more. Brooklyn is lovely and so close to the city using the subway watch the sunset from the front would definatly stay again.

This place is indeed an oasis right in the heart of a funky part of Brooklyn. Most of the rooms face away from the hustle and bustle and thus are quiet. The staff seem happy and well-treated which always spills over into service. We were brave and explored the side streets - had a great time. It is close enough to the subway to hop on an express and go anyway.

We stayed for two nights, the hotel is good, clean, and safe. The neighborhood is not great, but we did not feel unsafe even when we walked. Very friendly and efficient staff in the front desk. They were very helpful. The room was small, but had good amenities including a fridge, microwave and WiFi, and everything worked well.. Plenty of hot water. Our room was quiet and away from the train line. Breakfast was regular, in a clean room, and not too crowded. Overall pretty good stay.

Didn't care for the location, but the room was very clean and comfortable. Really clean bath, nice TV and great bed. The breakfast provided was EXCELLENT! two forms of eggs, sausage, a pancake MACHINE that was great, fruit, cereal, juice, coffee bread (and toaster) and danish, too. Two block walk in a busy neighborhood to the A train station.

We stayed for three nights and it was pretty nice. The parking lot is small but we were able to park there during our stay. It is a quick 3 blocks to subway (can get to Brooklyn Bridge area or Manhatten quickly, especially if you get express train). The lobby is small but the staff was friendly. They give you water bottles upon request. The rooms are small but sufficient. I understand that most hotels in the city have small rooms. We had a room with 2 doubles and 4 adults do it was tight but do-able. The room was clean and had a fridge and microwave. Our room was on the street side and so it faced the elevated train. Regarding the noise, I really don't think it bothered me. Honestly the train sound is pretty similar to noises you'd hear near the airport. I slept in bed closet to the air conditioner and train noises. I did use ear plugs but they were just cheap ones and I think I used them more to fall asleep rather than stay asleep. Our room was clean. The breakfast is not my favorite but sufficient to get you to lunch and it's free. The woman who worked in there was nice each morning. The coffee was good. We walked to and from subway each day. Going out of the hotel and going left towards Nostram was the yuckiest part of the walk. Next door to the hotel is (?) vacant lot and it's pretty smelly through there ... Kind of made me wonder what is behind the makeshift wall. When you turn on Nostrand you walk past all kinds of shops and restaurants. It can be busy at times but I didn't feel like I was in danger. I think you should be cautious but don't avoid it out of fear of the neighborhood. The latest we were out was 11:45 pm, there were still a lot of people out on the street. My only real complaint is the wifi. It was so slow and frustrating.
