"Great people, beautiful location, don't eat at restaurant"

We came here on a trip to see Zion. We stayed at this hotel a few years ago when it under a different parent company. They have done a nice job of updating everything and it was very clean. We seemed to be about 1 of 10 people staying there at first so it was very quiet. Service from all of the hotel staff was excellent. We had a problem with the microwave and they sent someone up within 5 minutes to fix it. My tire pressure light came on and I asked the front desk if anyone happened to have a pressure gauge so I could see which tire needed help. The manager went out to his car and let me borrow his. Everyone was friendly and seemed to enjoy being there. My only complaint with the room would be the bed. Hard as a rock and you could feel every quilted bump on the mattress. Avoid the restaurant!!! We went there our first night as we did not feel like driving anymore and thought the menu looked good. It was pricey but we decided to splurge. Worst mistake ever. I ordered the salmon with rice and not only did in not have an ounce of flavor it was overcooked to the point that I had to cut into it with a knife. I think it had been microwaved. My husband ordered the ribs which also had to have the meat cut off of the bone with a knife and he said the sauce tasted like pizza sauce. Only my son's burger and fries were decent. Not $13 decent but edible. I also ordered a glass of wine which we later discovered we were overcharged for. I don't normally complain (a habit I need to get over) but I decided it was too much as we paid almost $100 by the time we added in tip and the food wasn't worth more than the burger. Plus they needed to know the restaurant had issues. I went back to the waiter (who did an awesome job that evening) and asked to see a menu to verify the cost of the wine and then showed him my receipt and asked if I could get a refund and by the way, the food was awful. He was very apologetic and immediately called his boss to see what to do. After a while on the phone it was discovered that it was an error with their computer system. Now apparently the owner's solution was to have the poor waiter give me his own tip money as repayment or I could wait until the next day when they got the system updated and they could try to refund my card then. We are talking $3 and I refused to take the waiter's money as I suspected he would never be reimbursed. In the end since it was just the waiter and whoever was in the back cooking that were there, I just left and we did not return for breakfast or any other meal there. I did complain to the front desk but they said since it was owned by an outside person, there wasn't anything they could do. So, again, beautiful hotel with great staff but stay away from the restaurant. Plenty of other good places to eat up there.

We brought our concerns to the front desk, but I do feel compelled to share our experience here for the benefit of other guests. In short, the restaurant had VERY limited offerings and was not allergen-friendly. The food was overpriced. The server also kept opening a side door to bring in cool air, but everyone in the restaurant was freezing and so we kept shutting it. It was about 50° and raining outside. The food was average quality. The server wasn't rude, but also wasn't friendly. He also said the kitchen wouldn't cut our burger in half for sharing because "the kitchen doesn't cut things." We overheard another waiter being reprimanded by a guest when she asked him a question and he answered her with an attitude. As for the room, we all four felt the beds were stiff as a board, hard to the point that our bodies were forces into a convex position instead of flat. The sheets were scratchy to the point of being abrasive. The portion of the shower that was glass was covered in thousands of water spots. We live in a town with hard water. There are accessible products like SoftScrub that get off water spots. The walls were paper thin. We could hear our neighbor's tv, their child shouting, a dog barking, and in the morning, someone using the toilet. We have stayed at this property several times, and this visit will be our last. Highly disappointing. We were up after a restless night and checked out early.

"Beautiful and quiet"

Traveled June 5 from Bryce Canyon. Arrived early and were allowed to check-in early. They provided an upgrade to the room and it was quiet and wonderful. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. This was during low season, they were clearly remodeling sections but the place was well maintained, looks like a great place to be during the ski season. It was a nice place to stay and rest.

Be aware sometime starting in May this hotel is closing and is converting to a Best Western Premier. We have reservations during the period they have decided to close. They proactively contacted us and have arranged for us to stay at a nearby hotel. They are taking care of us while and somewhat inconvenient they are doing all they can to nor our reservation as they decided to close to speed up renovations as part of their conversion to a Best Western Premier.

Our stay here was the best part of our trip. It was so beautiful and peaceful. The staffing at the lodge were kind and helpful. The lodge itself is amazing. All the different things to do and experience is awesome. Definitely a golden little gem. I hope it stays hidden. We plan on going back for sure.

The cable (TV) was out for over 1.5 days, the rooms were nice and comfortable, there is no food offered at this lodge... That is a huge miss. The staff was ok, the location is good but so are all of the other places that have food as well.

Would highly recommend staying here! The price was extremely reasonable and the hotel was great! We was to tired from skiing all day to enjoy the amenities but they looked very nice. We ate breakfast in the resturant and the menu selection was slim but the food was good. Hotel location from ski resort was very close and shuttle is offered or quick couple minute drive.

"Great Family Friendly Hotel"

While staying here at the Grand Lodge at Brian Head, we were informed that in the recent months that the ownership had changed, and the new owners are doing a fantastic job! Here is how I rated them in different categories: SKI: very convenient shuttle that comes to the front door. Travel time to slopes is under a minute with comfortable seating. STAFF: front desk was very friendly & helpful; have a shovel and windshield scraper for those traveling via car. GIFT SHOP: while there was not a gift shop, there is a spa on the second floor that has cute items for sale. The staff there is super friendly, but I want to note Mikayla in particular since she reopened the spa after hours to help my husband with his altitude sickness by providing oxygen and medicine. RESTAURANT: absolutely delicious! And the waitress was so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful! ROOMS: Their rooms are very clean, and their cleaning staff is very thorough! Shower has great water pressure, and the faucet water is drinkable! One of the best water I have ever had! AMENITIES: I enjoyed their ourdoor hot tub, especially while it was snowing. And if you are not sure if you should do a massage in the spa, do it! They are very professional and have a nice tranquil Moroccan decor that really adds to the ambiance. The spa is a separate business from the lodge, but they are amazing! The hotel did a great job by having them in there! We will definitely be visiting again! Me and my husband will definitely be returning to this hotel! We highly recommend it!
