    « Girl's Get-away nite »

Was accommodated with an early check-in. Front desk as well as bartender and waitress in restaurant all very friendly & accommodating. We decided to stay in for dinner & ordered wings at the bar for take-out to go back to room. Wings were great!

« Not so happy at the BW Brantford »

After staying one night here we were disappointed with what is usually very good quality at best Westerns. Upon check in and getting to our room we noticed that the section we were staying in was under renovations and as we were in a hurry to get to where we were going didn't have time to really look at the room Getting back to the room late that night is when we noticed how dated the room was The wooden chairs were very uncomfortable to sit in , we noticed mold around the bathtub and how dirty the carpet was. The beds were clean and comfortable so we decided to spend the night. The Breakfast they offered in the morning was very plain and not even tasty. They did not offer express checkout when we checked in and just assumed it wasn't offered. Check out took almost 20 minutes as there was only one person at the desk and she was dealing with a problem. A few days later I received a survey about our stay , filled it in and sent it back, then we received another then another ?? I don't think BW even reads these . I even called customer service a couple times , had to leave messages and still have received any call back. Bad form all around .

    « Awesome Experience »

Great hotel. Friendly staff and very helpful. Central location. Room was very clean and bed comfortable. Very affordable. Second time as a guest. Will be back again next year. Highly recommended. Complimentary breakfast provided. The lounge and Bar is quaint. Excellent food. They didn't provide a channel to rent movies. if they did, I couldn't find it. That is the only complaint and this is minor. Great experience

« The people make att the difference at Brantford Best Western »

My husband and I had to stay at the hotel for a month because of a difference in sale of house and new one available. The people at the hotel made our stay less stressful. By the end of our stay the staff were like old friends. Always a smile and a warm word of encouragement on a bad day. We want to mention them by name because they were so kind to us, Brenda, Carol, Andre, Lisa, Karen H, Michelle, Annie and the housekeeper Claudette and Emma at the front desk. We actually miss them and a week ago I went back and had breakfast there so I could see them. Thank you.

    « Great accommodations ! »

Everything a hotel should be ! Great front desk staff . Warm comfortable room with a balcony. Overall absolutely pleased ! Will definitely stay there again if I'm in the area. The staff knew the area very well and recommended a great restaurant ! Right off the highway.. this hotel was amazing!

    « Fabulous »

I stayed here for two nights for a convention that I was running. From start to finish everything about booking the Hotel was great with everyone I dealt with. Wonderful venue to have an event at. The restaurant is one of the best around and the price is very reasonable, you can't beat the food or the selection. The hotel is clean, quiet and easily accessible to the 403. Room was great and spacious. One of my best hotel experiences this year.

« Has Everything you need. »

This hotel was not brand new but had all the amenities needed. Very convenient location on two highways, walkable to major shopping centers, public transportation to Toronto. Pool, fitness center, restaurant with decent food. Great for a conference.

    « Newly renovated »

Stayed for one night earlier this month. Newly renovated facility with a good selection of room types, numerous meeting rooms, full service restaurant with excellent food, fitness room, pool and banquet facilities. We had a suite style room which was very comfortable and well finished. We had a buffet style dinner and the hot buffet breakfast. Would recommend this facility.

    « Sunday brunch »

Went to the hotel for Sunday Brunch thanksgiving weekend and what a treat. Scrambelled eggs, bacon, sausage, waffels, made to order omelets, carved roast beef, mashed potatoes, fresh carved turkey and the best stuffing i have ever had not to mention all the yummy deserts and soft serve ice cream. What a great meal. Will be back for sure.

« Kicking it back at the BW in Brantford »

Are you headed to Brantford, Ontario? The Best Western is a great place to stay. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I stay there every time I am in Brantford. I have never had a bad experience. The rooms are lovely. I recommend staying in one of the Whirlpool suites in the Gretzky Wing. The perfect way to relax. Affordably priced and conveniently located right off the highway. I strongly recommend this BW location.

    « been staying here since 2008 »

been staying here about 30 days per calendar year. started in 2008 and fly in every 3 months or so to visit relatives. restaurant staff are great as well as housekeeping and front desk. the staff are what makes this hotel

« Good stay in Brantford »

My room was clean and comfortable. The staff were welcoming. They could not accommodate my request for a particular room so they gave me two coupons for a free hot buffet breakfast. We also had dinner in the restaurant. Our server Lisa was fabulous!! Friendly, accommodating and attentive. Our meal of pork tenderloin was absolutely delicious and we sent our compliments to the chef. Try it! It was wonderful.

« More like a motel not Hotel ... smelly rooms poor condition »

We attended a wedding and stayed here and was very disappointed ... mattress and bedding very tired ... room smelled of smoke due to air conditioner venting from the back wall where upon we found numerous cigarette butts outside our sliding door. Bathroom extremely small have to move in beside toilet to close door. Restaurant was good ... nice prime rib buffet for 21 dollars....staff friendly and helpful...just a hotel poorly maintained.

    « Average stay »

Front desk assistance was excellent. Check in was friendly and efficient. Our room was located on the second floor. First impression walking down the halls wasn't the greatest. The carpet was old and gross looking and the wallpaper in the halls looked the same. The old carpet continued in to the rooms. Other than that negative, the room was decent was a fridge and sitting area. The AC unit was very loud every time it turned on. Hall noise is VERY loud. You could hear every single door opening and slamming closed. There are many sporting teams that stay at this hotel so the door slamming lasted pretty late at night. Noise between the walls was actually very good. We could not hear any voices. The breakfast is great. Free continental or a mere $5 if you wish to upgrade to include omelette, sausage, pancakes. We were satisfied with the complimentary breakfast.

    « 09 25 2016 »

Great hotel for meetings and rooms are always clean. Staff is very helpful and go out of there way to make your business easy to conduct. I stayed in a room with a Jacuzzi and I was impressed that the Jacuzzi worked so well. It filled up fast and worked very well, very clean. Overall, a great place for leisure or business.

« Decent, but pricey and room cleanliness could be better. »

Apparently this hotel is going under renovations, which are really needed. Our room wasn't yet renovated, but it was obvious it wasn't properly cleaned from the previous guests. There was dried urine on the toilet seat and hair in the bed. Walls are pretty thin, so you can clearly hear the cleaning cart going by at night and the ice machine. The hotel was pretty busy due to conventions so people walking back and forth in the night woke us up from time to time. The saving grace of this hotel is the breakfast, a good selection with good coffee is available. Wait staff are very friendly and go the extra mile to accommodate. This compensated from the disappointment regarding the room.

    « Best Western Gem »

This was absolutely one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and I have travelled over seas including Europe and Hawaii! Phil was very conscientious, friendly, professional and helpful...not to mention he was Mr. personality plus!! Made the check-in process as smooth as can be. Our room was spotless and VERY comfortable. The bathroom is spacious and plenty of soft, fluffy towels! Loved the soap and shampoo dispenser in the shower! The restaurant located in the hotel is excellent AND they do give you % off of dinner and coupon for upgrading the breakfast! The dining staff was very friendly and efficient. There were several signs about renovations and to excuse the mess but everything was very clean. If I ever get back to this area......this will be the place for me!

« Best Western Brantford a great hotel! »

We stayed at the Best Western Brantford from Sept.10th to Sept.13,2016. The room was handicap accessible room and it was laid out quite well. The room was exceptionally clean. My socks were still white after walking around on the carpet for most of the first day. It's quite close to a few restaurants and shopping. It's worth the price to upgrade to the hot breakfast from the continental, it's only $5.00 per person and the hot breakfast includes Bacon,Pancakes,Eggs, home fries, sausage patties and links, and of course coffee and toast. The service in the dining room was excellent . After the first morning Brenda our regular server remembered I like decaf coffee and every morning it was ready and with a smile and a pleasant word for us. Then of course there is Walter Gretsky father of the Great One and he will chat with you and sign autographs if he happens to be there. What more could you ask for in a hotel? We will defiantly be staying there again and thanks again to Brenda for making us feel special.

    « Hospitality times 1000 »

This was probably one of the best stays we had in a hotel in recent years. The staff was professional, very polite, helpful, knowledgable, etc. Check in and check out was a breeze. It was a breath of fresh air. The Hotel is experiencing renovations. There were signs everywhere that said "please excuse our mess while we make improvments" or something along those lines. That being said, I dont think we seen a single speck of dirt or dust the whole time we were there. Our room was not yet renovated, but it was spotless and comfortable. Lots of pillows, blankets, towels etc. The room was a good size with plenty of room to move around. The bathroom was a bit tight, but I loved the soap dispensers. A family of 4 had more than enough of everything. The included breakfast was fantastic. Everything was VERY fresh and there were tons of options. They also gave you an upgrade option of a plated meal as well. I would gladly stay at this hotel again and I would recommend it to anyone :).

    « enjoyable stay »

I met my friends for supper and travelled with my other friend. we had not stay here before. the pool area was great and the hotel was in a convenient location to get the rest. and back on the highway. they are updating the hotel but that was no problem. we would stay there again. it was a little high in price because of it being a convention centre as well, but well worth it.

    « Was a Good Stay »

The room was very spacious and clean. The pool was heated and very nice. The bed was comfortable and no complaints from the kids on the pull-out either. They had a smaller kiddie pool and a hot tub as well. Included a "free" breakfast, that cost us $30 for my family of 5. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was I felt the price was a bit much for what it is. The staff was friendly and accommodating, I'd probably stay again if I'm in the area.

    « Good option »

Rooms were clean, which was the most important thing for us. Breakfast is not that great, but if you have no other option, it still gives you a start to your day. Wifi worked well. Only issue we had was that the outside door closest to our room had the electric lock broken so anyone could enter the hotel through the back door, even without a key. We told the reception desk but they weren't very quick in dealing with it, when we left in the AM it was still the same way. Overall OK and would probably go back if an overnight in the area was needed.

« Not the cleanest of rooms »

We found a long black hair on the bathroom floor, we are all blondes. We found a plastic bottle cap in the bed, you would think if the sheets were changed after the last guests the bottle cap wouldn't be there neither would the dark stain on the sheet. We were barefoot walking around the room and food stuck to the bottom of our feet as we walked. Dust and drink stains on the tables. The wall paper is coming off of the walls. They even had the nerve to charge us a DMF tax of 3% for marketing charges.

    « Three swimming pools! »

Everyone was really nice, the room was super nice - not at all what we were expecting for such reasonable prices. And three swimming pools - one big enough to swim laps, one shallow kiddie pool with a fountain, and a hot tub. Sweet! There was also an outdoor playground. If you have kids, this would be an excellent hotel.

    « Totally worth it..!!! always a pleasure..but.... »

i have stayed here with my family bunch of time and it has always been a good one. We had came here for leisure and always had fun time. The resort's location is good and it is well maintained. It is good for families and lawn in the resort is very beautifull. The pool and jacuzzi is neat and clean. The food was also good and the front desk was very helpful. Overall it's the best option in brantford. Only problem is they make fool of people in the name of rewards program, they never accept my rewards membership card.

    « Friendly staff »

Stayed here for one night with a sports team. The facility is clean and well run. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room appeared to be clean and was spacious. Despite the fact that there were a bunch of teams staying in the facility at the same time and a couple of events (wedding, conference) the noise level wasn't bad at all.

    « OK Hotel »

Convenient location by the freeway, Semi-friendly staff Good breakfast OK dinner and lunch Good size rooms Comfortable bed Coffee and tea in the room Some of the rooms are slightly noisy heading the freeway OK swimming pool

« Best Western Addresses Mobility Needs »

We return to the BW in Brantford each year because this hotel knows how to address mobility issues. The bathroom is perfectly set up for a wheelchair guest, the bed is the right height for transfers and the desk is organized so a wheelchair will go under it and the guest can plug in without having to get under the desk. Microwave, coffee machine and fridge are a nice addition. The room is nicely appointed and large enough for a wheelchair to navigate. While the rates are a little pricey it is worth it for the amenities. Don't bother with the $5 "hot breakfast: option. It isn't worth it. The free continental breakfast has lots of choice.

    « rooms need upgrading »

The rooms need upgrading. Old stained carpets and a smells a little musty. The rooms needs more lighting. Outdated décor though that's the least of my worries. No room safe. Close to highway so a little noisy but location is good otherwise. Nice restaurant but you have to pay extra for the warm breakfast. The pool, hot tub and sauna are quite nice.

    « Perfect for family »

This is so far the best hotel that i have stayed in having a large family. Our room came with enough place for us all to stay. Food was excellent, and we came at a time there was live music at supper. I changed hotel to be closer to our next days events, and regretted it. It would have been more worth it to stay here and travel the hour than stay at the Hilton like we did.

    « Meh, just OK »

My son and I stayed two nights in the Walter Gretzky Wing, in a two queen suite, with pull-out couch, fireplace, mini-fridge, microwave and flat screen tv. Room was large, and bathroom was spacious as well. However, wall paper was peeling off the walls. Only a continental breakfast was included, not a hot breakfast (first I've ever seen at a Best Western). You get vouchers when checking into hotel, to pay an extra $5 for the hot buffet. First morning, when entering the restaurant, the sign said, 'wait to be seated'. After waiting a LONG period of time, we sat ourselves, and had to wait to be noticed by wait staff. Food was ok. There is an omelette station (did not try), where you have to go TO ASK for bacon, as this is not in the hot buffet with the rest of the breakfast meat, eggs and potatoes. When finished, we waited an extremely LONG time for wait staff to bring us a bill, so I decided to just walk out. They certainly came running at that point. Second morning the line was out the door, so we went to McD's, rather than waiting to beg for bacon, and only get noticed when they want to get paid. The hotel claims to be a Best Western Plus (outside sign), but under new hotel branding (logo), it is only a Best Western. Fast food, restaurants and shopping mall are a quick drive away. I would only stay here again, because hotel choices in Brantford are extremely limited.

    « Great family Combo »

This hotel offers the best rate for our hotel and African Lion Safari adventure. Combining hotel and tickets this is the best deal around. It also included a hot breakfast and $20 towards dinner. We have stayed here before and will again in the future

    « VERY BAD »

very bad odor in room Air conditioning did work properly. and i think they were breading flys One good thing was the restaurant Food was good at a reasonable price washroom was not clean cobwebs behind the drapes

    « Stay don't eat »

The hotel is great. Friendly people, clean rooms and wait staff that is always ready to help. If they offer an upgrade, take it. It would be well worth it to be upgraded. There has been a change in ownership of either the restaurant or hotel or both since our last stay. The normally satisfying Best Western breakfast is not the norm here! Fruit, pastries, breads, oatmeal, sugar cereal are all that is offered; no protein here unless you count the peanut butter spread for the oatmeal! But wait there is a $5 CAN/person "upgrade" that is french toast, pancakes(more starch) or greasy eggs. Stay here is wonderful; but save yourself $5 CAN/person unless you love sugar and starch and everything to raise your blood sugar.

« Great place for Expo. »

Visited for a convention. Hotel had plenty of good parking. Grounds were very clean. Front desk staff very professional and friendly. Conference halls were spacious. I would attend another expo or conference here. Close to freeway and many food options around hotel. Hotel has a restaurant but I did not eat there. Did not stay over night but I would have if it wasn't sold out prior.

« Best, Best Western I Have Been to »

Excellent room, painless check in and check out, great amenities, great waffles at breakfast. The beds were the comfiest I have slept in at a hotel before. All the staff were lovely. I would reccomend to anyone.

    « All good »

Nice room, clean, all the amenities that you need. Staff were friendly. We were in town for a ball tournament. Kids were wild in the pool but the staff stayed away and let the parents deal with this it. Hotel is right off the highway 403. Overall good experience.

    « Not impressed »

I have stayed at this hotel before and was more than pleased,....not so much this time.....rooms are stale and need updating...issues with bathroom door and tub not draining when showering.....just overall not a pleasant experience

« trip to visit the Falls and Toronto. This hotel is in the middle of those 2 cities ( 1hr away) »

Very nice hotel, Clean, Walter G. wing of the hotel, big Room for 2 queens Bed and a sofa Bed, sleep 5 people. Sofa bed is a twin size, Excellent service, Good breakfast and hot breakfast upgrade for additional $5.00. people here are friendly. Shooping centers and stores around the hotel. 1 hour and 10 mins from Niagara falls and 1 hr and 10 mins from Toronto. Quiet place, modern, rooms has coffee maker, microwave and small refrig. Vendor machines and ice machine. I recommend and I will come back to this place!

    « A good place to stay »

Great hotel for the price. Friendly efficient staff, sparkling clean, quiet. Restaurant above average, breakfast buffet extensive and tasty. Attended banquet at this facility- well done, prompt service, excellent food

    « quiet and comfortable »

Great stay, pleasant, professional people. Good selection at breakfast from a cold buffet to hot buffet and special omelette selection. Quiet location very near shopping and other restaurants. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, easy access to Highway 403.

    « Nice hotel »

Stayed at this hotel 5/27/16 and enjoyed the stay. Only complaint, for some reason one side of the bed was extremely soft and made it hard to sleep due to back discomfort. Other side was fine. I'll stay again

« Great place to stay »

We had a fantastic King size room in the Walter Gretsky wing. This section of the hotel is know as the quiet wing and our room was very quiet, clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating and made our stay very enjoyable. For those with children there are rooms with patio's overlooking an outdoor play structure for the children along with a nice indoor pool and a well appointed workout room for the adults. The hotel also provides a good size continental breakfast buffet from 7 am until 10 am and if you would prefer a hot breakfast buffet there is a nominal charge (approx. $6) . We had the continental breakfast and the hotel even provided gluten free bread which they toasted on a toaster provided for gluten free bread only. If you are Celiac or have a gluten allergy you know how important this can be.

    « wkend of may 21st 2016 »

excellent experience without any complaints other than the refrigerator in the wheelchair accessible room was not turned on at the time of arrival. We thought it was not working until the following day a relative noticed it was turned off at the back. It should have been working at the time of arrival especially when there are wheelchair-bound patrons are involved. It is physically impossible for a person in a wheelchair to access the back. Great location, quality rooms and terrific staff.

« Convenient but not peaceful »

We recently attended a family function in Brantford and considering the nature of the festivities thought that it would be a good idea to stay at the best western. This place is showing its age in the hallways and rooms but it's not decrepit by any means. What we didn't care for was the fact that we could hear every word that was said in the next room and they weren't yelling!!!! A little unsettling!!! Breakfast the next morning was a long lineup which we finally decided wasn't worth the wait. We could see numerous empty tables but the staff was studiously ignoring the lineup. Pissed me off.

« Superb for Sports Teams!!!!! »

Nothing to criticize at this place. Everything that we could have expected was ' top notch " . Extremely welcoming , friendly and courteous. Jackie and Tianna were phenomenal in helping us, plan this trip for our swim team of 40 kids. Every single staff member seemed to be unflustered with all chaos that could arrive from having multiple teams stay, at the same time. The rooms are spacious,..more than we had expected,..and although many don't have microwaves,..they do all have mini-fridges. The catering and food quality were great..and again, they were more than willing to accommodate for allergies and food sensitivities. Thank you once again to the staff...and hope to return when we are in the neighbourhood.

    « Ballet competition »

My daughter and I had a very nice rest in our room and loved the beds but were a little bit surprised about how small the bathroom was! I was also really unpleasantly surprised about the service we received during our breakfast. I know it's a busy time for the waitresses as they are running back and forth waiting on everyone who's in a rush to get their breakfast but all it takes is a friendly smile and some friendly banter. Both the waitresses were short with me and I thought, gosh, I'm really sorry to have bothered you.

    « Okay »

In Brantford on business and my partner and I stayed here. It's a very large, sprawl-y hotel so we had to walk pretty far to get to our room. The bed was not that comfortable, and the air conditioner in our room was very loud and it would turn on and off, which woke me up once. The hotel was clean enough and our room had a nice sitting area with sofas and a desk in addition to one double bed. The food in the morning was okay.

    « Nice »

This hotel is nice. The hotel rooms are a bit outdated but reasonable. Breakfast was nice. The food was okay. The upgrade was reasonable for the hot foods except the potatoes were overcooked and the french toast was not good. I would consider staying again.

« Emma went above and beyond »

I just got home from an AMAZING stay at this hotel with friends and from check in, Emma was just WONDERFUL, she was going to give us a good rate, but once we told her that were there for a funeral, she automatically gave us the bereavement rate. The room was top notch, very clean and quiet, breakfast was good, we will definitely return and recommend this hotel to others

« Garth Brooks Concert Stay »

This hotel was very clean from the parking lot, the front lobby, halls, elevators and rooms. Rooms were very spacious. The continental breakfast had an upgrade option for $5.00 to a buffet that offered hot and cold foods. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The front desk clerk went out of her way to try to find us reasonable transportation options to get a group of 8 to Hamilton for the concert to avoid us needing to travel with two vehicles. The halls were quiet. The furniture was comfortable. Excellent overall experience.

    « Good hotel, BUT.... »

Hotel was very good, but, hockey tournament packs of kids running the halls unsupervised right up to 11 pm at night is not acceptable. Management needs to address the comfort level of the guests who are not affiliated with the travel hockey teams. The travel teams may be a very lucrative market, but, it would be responsible on the staff's part to enforce some type of control, even if the parents are not stepping up to the plate.

« The rooms are old, but.... »

The hotel is very conveniently located near the highway, shopping centers and restaurants. Great for a 1 or 2-night stay for business purposes... Steve at the front desk was extremely efficient and curteous. This definitely helped me accept the poor state of the hallway and the room doors. The room itself was OK and the bed seems very comfortable...

« Nice hotel, great service and comfortable rooms »

We are staying here for 5 days (still here) and very impressed so far. We have a drive up room which is great whilst there is still clearly some updating required everywhere is clean and well appointed.. We have a room with 2 queen size beds but there are plenty of other room configurations on offer. The restaurant and bar area are lovely, great choice on the menu but the portions were too large for us. Waiting staff are super helpful which is not uncommon in Canada but still nice to experience.

    « Older hotel »

The rooms are old. Cracks in ceilings, paint peeling. Bathroom not very nice. Breakfast is good. Great location. I guess you get what you pay for because the rate is good. I'll probably stay here again.

« An older style hotel that is getting some upgrades »

My wife was here for work for a few days and we came down to join her. The pool was well used and reasonably well maintained though the hot tub could have used a bit of a scrub. Our room was fine and the beds were comfortable. They are obviously updating rooms but our had not been done yet. I had eaten supper at the restaurant previously and it was quite good. The breakfast was nothing special, but it had some nice options. Go for the custom made omelette. Our server was very sweet and had us sit down instead of standing and waiting for out omelettes.

    « Nice Hotel »

This was the best option in Brantford. It is has many amenities and courteous staff. Safe and clean hotel with a nice restaurant and bar. Room décor was a little outdated but the beds were clean and comfortable.

    « Excellent »

All around great stay. Great dinner and breakfast. Rooms clean, near everything by. The staff was helpful and friendly. Bathroom could use updating, rooms pretty sound proof. Free parking well lit area

« Good Value for Business »

The hotel was a good value for a one night business trip, conveniently located right off of the 403 Highway. The room was average, could use some updating, but I usually stay at Westin or Sheraton hotels so hard to compare with them. Overall no complaints about the stay.

    « Great Experience »

It was our first time staying at this location and it was a pleasure. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Their suggestion for dinner was great. They went out of their way to provide us directions to the restaurant. It was great value and enjoyable. I will definitely come back.

    « Great hotel »

Staff was very nice everywhere in the hotel. Love the suite with 2 bedrooms and bunk beds. Very quiet hotel. Will go back for sure! Perfect for a family with kids - this room can sleep 6 people very easily!

    « Staying at BW »

Great Great Hotel. Staff makes thing easy and comfortable. I always stay here . No other option to me when i come over to Brantford, Canada Restaurant quality and service is superb. Prices are also a great value

    « Lots of parking »

There is lots of parking here with many entry doors. This is a large hotel but at least you can park close to your room. The staff here were very friendly and accommodating. My room was nice and clean. I did have a personalized letter waiting for me when I arrived with a lil welcome bag which really made my day. I would stay again.

    « Good Hotel »

Bathroom tiles a little moldy and the hot tub has some scum. Room decor is modern. Internet connectivity was erratic, but usually connected. Continental breakfast has no warm items that are complimentary. Overall we are satisfied with our stay and would consider staying here again.

« Good location, decent stay »

Good location if your travelling and need to stop over. Room was pretty decent, reasonable internet connectivity which I was looking into mainly. They do have a nice restaurant which I would say is good, breakfast was ok and lunch buffet is quite reasonable, food was good and fresh. I did stay at a motel in London Ontario last time and compared to that I prefer this place.

    « 2 night stay »

Hotel is great. Some updates have been made. Breakfast good as you had a selection of pasties, bread and bagels. Lots of fruit to select from. If you wanted you could upgrade for $5 for eggs and bacon. Pool was down for maintenance when we were there kids a little disappointed. All in all good place to stay.

    « Great value »

I frequently stay at this hotel for business and have a consistently positive experience. The staff are very welcoming, especially the breakfast team, the rooms are comfortable, and the hotel is usually quiet. Continental breakfast is included, and the hot oatmeal is the best I have had at any hotel.

« Spacious king suite with separate bedroom »

I really enjoyed my 1 night stay. I could have stayed for a week and have everything I needed. Modern and clean with comfortable furniture and a great TV that swiveled to face the desk when I was working or the couch when I was lounging. Extra TV in large bedroom also. Convenient kitchenette with sink and necessities and large bathroom with ample counter space. My only disappointment was the mattress was not the usual Best Western standard and the sheets did not fit properly. The duvet and pillows were nice and I did sleep well.

« Truly the worst hotel and staff ever! »

No choice I have to go to this hotel every year to my company meetings and dread it in advance! The worst hotel I have ever been to and it is so mainly because of the incompetent staff who insists on not listening to your needs and telling inaccurate information! Why can't they hire proper people to work there?? Small town blues? They can't find efficient people to work their? I asked for a quiet room as I have been doing so for over 19 years! Where do they place me?? Facing the highway where the noise is unbeleivable and not facing the court side where do they place me? Facing the high way!! I was there for three nights and never got any sleep!

    « Didn't realize that I shouldn't have booked this hotel »

OK. the hotel served its purpose. I needed to stay for work in Brantford. But if I didn't have other hotels to compare to this review might be better. But there were a lot of little issues, ok bigger issues that will cause me to never stay there again. (Though I may since it seems to be the only hotel in town.) Some issues. Door handle, turn up then down to make the door work. The room didn't get cleaned one day, then the next day the maid left one of those cards "how are we doing, we give excellent care" index cards. The shower, never could stay on one temperature. The lighting was so dim in the bathroom when you showered you were in the dark. The sink never drained. The toiletries smelled bad and didn't lather (that may be the problem of the water). The towels were so hard that they never dried my body completely. Who puts a step up to the heater, so in the middle of the night when you go to change the temperature of the room , you trip and fall onto the heater. Lets put it to you this way, the best part of the room? the 2 port USB phone charger by the bed. Best thing I have ever seen in any room. But that is it. So you see these are some of my issues. Maybe I'm nitpicky, but I had just recently stayed at a Holiday Inn and it was like night and day.

« Manager Joanne treats her staff very badly. Most demeaning woman to work for »

Staff was great. Except for that woman general manager Joanne. I've noticed how horrible she was with her staff. Demeaning. Stands there and constantly watches them only to put them down with negative comments.

    « Disgusting »

This is my second and last time staying at this hotel. We stayed at this place as we were visiting family and wanted to let the kids have a good time swimming. We live in Toronto so it's definitely not a stay because of a long distance drive. Our room almost came to 200 dollars. (should of stayed at great wolf Lodge for around the same price a night) we checked in and the room was as okay. Minus the dead flies on the window frame. We went to swim and to be honest although super gross I noticed feces in the small kiddie pool and on the pool deck. I reluctantly turned a blind eye and decided to let the kids swim in the big pool,as this was the purpose of our trip. At this time it was all clear. Swam for maybe five minutes and noticed feces in the pool on the steps of the big pool . I gathered my kids and quickly left and went to express my concern to front desk staff. As I was telling staff what happened, a young man asked where the pool was. I told him there was feces in it and was SHOCKED when front desk staff told him where the pool was. News flash Best Western when someone defecates in a pool you need to clear the pool and shock it to prevent illness to your guests. I also found out you open your pool to non hotel guests, and anyone can buy a monthly membership. I've never heard of this before. People walking on the deck with dirty boots etc, some major health and safety violations going on here. One positive.. The Kirby Resturant had good food. Wish I went home after our family visit. I'd be 200 richer and a lot happier.

    « Excellent All Around »

We can't say enough about this hotel, it's staff & service. We original stayed there because it was very close to our daughter's swim meet at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre (5-10 mins away) plus it has a 'family suite' with a master BR, living room & separate BR for our daughter & teammate (really reasonable). While we stay at a lot of hotels for swim meets, we were really impressed by the staff & service.. Due to problems I had with a medical condition they allowed my family to check in a bit earlier & even check out a little later without charging us extra (which has happen before at other hotels). The restaurant was great, free breakfast, the kids loved the pool & playground & of course having their own room with a TV. We have some more swim meets in Brantford this year & will be staying there again as well as recommending it to the other families. I have no problems recommending this hotel to any teams & families going to Brantford.

« Nice and service minded.... »

I stayed here for business purposes for a week and the room was very nice and clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The free continental breakfast is ok and for +5$ it turns into great :) The A/C is very noisy every time it starts during the night.

    « Hockey Tourney »

This did the job for the tourney, worth the upgrade to Walter Gretzky wing. Free continental breakfast or $5 up charge for full breakfast with eggs anyway which was very reasonable. Its very convenient having a full restaurant in the hotel and the rates far with friendly staff.

    « Tremendous service! »

We had a birthday celebration for our grandson with over 40 people in attendance. The brunch buffet was plentiful and varied and a reasonable price. We were in a private banquet room and had only one attendant to look after all of us.I can tell you that was more than enough when you have someone like Summer. She took care of everything the entire 4 hours we were there.Pleasant, happy and smiling and genuinely concerned that everyone enjoyed themselves. She made it seem effortless, and was the main reason we are writing this review.Thankyou!

    « 9 out of 10 »

We stayed here for a wedding and everything was almost perfect. The rooms we booked were fantastic and large, clean and reasonably priced, the customer service, both at reception and especially at the dinner were way above average! Most events like this, you would rarely see a supervisor or manager on the floor, but we did throughout the night. Even late in the evening, someone had spilled wine and 2 servers noticed the stain at the empty table and while the people were up dancing, they carefully moved everyone's belongings, table decorations, candles etc and put down a fresh table cloth, and put everything back as they found it...I was very impressed with this. Even the next morning our breakfast server asked if we had slept well and had enjoyed our stay. The reason it wasn't a 10-10 is because of 2 reasons. The food at the wedding could have been better. The Chicken was cooked to perfection, hot, juicy and very moist, however the skin was soft and too moist like under cooked bacon...not edible. Not sure what the sauce was, but it's consistency didn't look appetizing including the way it was spread onto the chicken. Also, the vegetables were properly cooked, which is good, but I had a few pieces of zucchini that still had not been trimmed at their ends...small things, but something for your Chef to work on to improve. The main issue that was our biggest "take away" was from when we went to the Brunch (almost $18 per person), the morning after the wedding, my family and I had sat down and right away the servers came around offering coffee to everyone, only to find out LATER it was NOT included and was an additional $2+ per person. I was stunned. I have been in the Hospitality business for 35 years both as an Executive Chef and GM of large food operations, and felt this was such a petty thing to do. Perception is so important and everyone's perception was that we were being "ripped off" in a way. Too bad it was our last interaction with the hotel before we left. Everything had been so good up to that point, especially the customer service, and we left with a bad taste in our mouths. I think this is something the hotel needs to review. My suggestion would be to include the coffee, even if you have to raise the price slightly. In closing, I would highly recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay here again.

    « Not impressed »

My daughter and family accompanied me for an overnight stay at Best Western Plus in Brantford, Ontario. We took the Family Suite. There were not enough towels for all of us, neither were there enough wash cloths. The kids' room was not properly cleaned. The toilet needed plunging and the shower curtain had burnt holes in it. There were items of garbage left from the previous occupants (eg. a hair clip on the floor).

    « Nice, average place. »

This is a BUSY hotel. Oh my ! Check-in had a group of 12 people ahead of us with only two people at the desk, so took over 15 minutes just to get in front of a person. Guess they can't control when people show up, so can't fault them for that, but be aware this hotel has A LOT of halls with MANY events and it's BUSY. Not the most quiet place, so if you want quiet, make sure to request a room in the Gretzky Wing, which is a key only accessible wing and dead quiet. Large rooms, very comfortable. A bit dated, but clean. Nothing over the top to report here, but nothing negative either. I guess average is the right word. Continental breakfast is included, and for a few $ more, you can get more options such as made to order omelets and warm food. Nice to have the option.

« Nice hotel for the price »

This is a nice 3 star hotel. Rooms are clean and fairly large. Well maintained. Bathroom extremely small. Quality/price is very good. Excellent work out room. Very friendly staff. Corridors are old looking.

    « Always my go-to »

Whenever I need to book a conference room and need a meal to go with it, I book here. The food has really improved and impressed. They always accommodate and adapt if the usual room is unavailable or the group size doesn't fit in that room

    « Recommend Best Western »

We stay in a lot of hotels for business and the Best Western in Brantford ranks up there with the best of them. Conveniently located 1/2 way between Niagara Falls & Detroit. The rooms are clean, the staff super friendly and the pricing fair. The complimentary breakfast buffet is way above average with an option for custom gourmet breakfast order for $5. Great cable TV package, swimming pool and gym. What more does a traveler need?

    « 40th Birthday :) »

Great hotel, staff are super friendly and helpful. Right off the 403. Rented a jacuzzi fireplace room, spacious, clean, warm place. Robes were a nice touch! Slept great! Breakfast was hot and delicious. Worth the $5 upgrade. Went Al Dente for an amazing dinner.

    « 11 13 2015 »

Great staff that go beyond to help customers have a great stay. The porters helped me with boxes for a convention set up and whatever I needed they we're there. The restaurant is good and lounge / bar is nice to relax.

    « Really Nice Facility »

This Best Western was much nicer than the Hiltons we often visit. It was clean and modern. The employees were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Our dinner was good. Our waitress even offered to prepare a cocktail she had never heard of before. Our breakfast waitress was friendly and most accommodating.

    « stayed for wedding »

Stayed for one night fr wedding this hotel us very nice and staff excellent . The breakfast however was not good.We were given a complimentary breakfast with our stay but could upgrade paying 5.00. Still could not have bacon certain items extra cost from menu. The potato hash brown were raw inside.Upon checking addressed this but nothing was done to the bill.

    « What you'd expect »

I've stayed here on business many times, if you're going to stay here pay the extra money for the Gretzky wing, those rooms are much better. The staff is friendly, they have all the right things for facilities but somehow it all feels middle of the road. If Brantford gets some real hotels at some point I'd change, as it stands now it is here or the Hampton

« 1 star hotel, dont waste your money »

I stayed at this hotel for one week and it was a nightmare. The hotel needs a major overhaul and its old and smells of cigarette smoke. I was in two different rooms and I was not happy but had no choice but to stay because my company had their acct with them. Rooms are old, sheets had crumbs on them, rooms smelt of smoke and stale air, heater was either too hot and no medium setting. Breakfast was a pain to remember to hand out pink slips supplied by the front desk, for coffee and toast and canned fruit. The hot breakfast which is standard in other hotels was $5.00 and that the eggs and french toast was dry and just awful. Dinner was too expensive to eat there and the buffet was a joke. I felt bad that my company had to pay for this hotel but I guess they were unable to get into the other hotel. We had about 10 to 20 rooms booked each week. Hockey kids were loud and noisy and security doors were never locked. Just a awful hotel and I am surprised that the BEST WESTERN still has this hotel operating. I would not go back to that hotel if i was offered the rooms free. The towels were not changed daily even though they were lying on the floor. Just a trashy place and the staff were not friendly at all.

« Nice place, no extras »

Stayed there for 4 nights and had one room. I have a bit of a phobia about hotels as we have had some really bad experiences in the past, especially with Best Westerns. The lobby was really nice, very clean and welcoming. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our the old wing and in need of updating. We had a room on the ground level very drafty patio doors.Nice really comfortable beds and the place is very clean. The heating situation, well lets say its in need of an update. Its an in wall unit and VERY noisy. I suppose it drowns out the hwy noise though but I also suspect it's why my allergies are acting up...dusty. The bathroom was very clean although very tiny. Definitely not a space for more than 1 person at a time. In fact the" door just misses the toilet seat" kind of tiny. The room has a bar fridge, nice big screen tv, fold out couch (from which we had to take the blanket from just for getting cozy on the couch( to ward off that draft from the patio door). There is also a coffee maker and free wifi. Really wish that there was a microwave in the unit as I spent the majority of my time here while my husband was at his work conference. It would be nice to be able to warm up a coffee( as there was no complimentary coffee available). This brings me to the reason that a microwave would be beneficial. Quite simply , the food here is awful. Borderline non edible. We were given vouchers for a free continental breakfast, and for $5 we could upgrade to the hot breakfast. Food was cold. The eggs had a "crust" on the top, the bacon was all fat and there was 4 pieces and also cold. We never went back and instead went out to eat.Coras for breakfast was far superior and we had dinner out also as we didn't want to waste our money on a place that cant even get eggs right. I had purchased salads for my lunches and it would have been handy to be able to warm up some chicken for my lunch. The pool was nice as was the hot tub and the gym...very basic. Had a few issues with parking as there was also a job fair going on and there were NO parking spots left. I had to park over at the Home Depot for 1 day...poor planning there. I know that we got a reduced rate during this conference, and I have to say, there is no way I would pay the regular rate to stay here. Its clean but in need of some updates and some basic "niceities" even if its a free cup of joe!

    « Nice noisy rooms »

Stayed here 7 days and had 3 rooms. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. And the first floor has sliding doors which are great to get things in and out to the car. There is a good restaurant with a friendly staff and a decent lounge. There are other restaurants just across the highway. Every room has a wall heater/cooler which make a lot of noise and mingles with the noise coming from the hallway. People just talking in the hall sounds as if the door is open. When staying on the front side you can easily here what is going on in the parking lot and when a train goes by. The room at the end of the building was near the indoor pool which you can smell almost all the way up the hall. This room also puts you in ear shot of the highway. Over all a nice room but over priced and very noisy, especially on the weekend when it was full of kids running all over the place.

    « Awesome food »

Very nice room. We had gas fireplace. Nice touch. Had a great meal at Kirby's. Staff was very good. We arrived without a reservation and they were very accommodating giving us several choices. We will return to stay again.

    « Best Westerns are #1 »

This is one of the top best westerns I have stayed at. The cleanliness and service was top rated. I always say you can't go wrong choosing a Best Western. The bed was really comfortable. We stayed in the Wayne Gretzky Wing which was extremely quiet. I have no complaints whatsoever about this hotel and highly recommend it

« Very Good Family Getaway »

I took my 2 granddaughters to celebrate their 7th birthdays because they enjoy swimming. The rest of my family joined us for the scrumptious dinner buffet and more swimming. I feel safe at this Brantford hotel and the staff were very helpful. Excellent location near the 403.

    « Not Plus category »

The front desk staff was friendlly and offered quick service. The room standards are below average. The carpet and wall paper were poorly installed. Bathroom tub had mold and rust. Door did not shut well.

    « Pleasantly Surprised! »

Best Western Plus in Brantford is a simple and affordable, but very well appointed hotel with all the amenities I needed. The staff were pleasant and the rooms comfortable and very clean. I would highly recommend.

    « Very good »

Stayed weekend from 25 - 28 September. Had king jacuzzi suite that was well appointed. Very large with the best jacuzzi tub we've had anywhere. Breakfast was great. Recommend it to anyone traveling into the area.

« Bring your ear plugs »

I likely would have slept okay if not for the persistent opening and closing of the access door outside my room. I was also pretty surprised actually how many people need ice so late at night and so early in the morning. I checked it out in the morning to make sure the machine wasn't hooked up to a loud speaker, but it wasn't. It's just strategically placed to ensure maximum effect to room 181. The staff were great, and the hotel itself is actually quite nice. I however, left tired and disappointed.

    « Brantford Best Western »

Great place to stay, close to the highway. Restaurant was good and the bar/lounge was excellent, service was amazing. Rooms were very clean. Decorating and carpets are dated but that is not as important as having clean rooms. Everything was clean and our room had a bar fridge for our use as well.
