The breakfast changed daily which was very helpful as we were there for a couple days. The pool side has some picnic tables that were amazing to have lunch while the kids played in the pool. All employees always helped with anything we asked. Definitely will be back when I'm in the area.
This place is awful. Had to wait 10 min at 10pm to check in while the clerk finished her cigarette. The room was dirty, underwear left, smelled nasty. Tv didn't work. The halls smell like chlorine and weed. I would not recommend. Overpriced for what it is.
This place has definitely gone down him since last spring. I understand they had some storms, but this is beyond storm damage. Room was not cleaned well. Someone else's stick under table. Musky smelling shower which was still wet. It was a handicap accessible room. Floors were torn up. Nancy at the main desk was NOT FRIENDLY. why out someone with that personality at your front desk?? They had an issue with a guest. Took her belongings outside and told her to wait there for her ride.
Thank you for all your support and help. It's being a crazy ride since hurricane yet the help we all received it's amazing. Feels like a big family with other guests and staff, everyone doing what they can and the hotel is very welcomy and homey
SAVE YOUR MONEY. CORPORATE CANT EVEN HELP YOU IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM Spent 1 night with a second night on hold. I followed policy and booked the room directly with Best Western and provided my credit card for the hold, guaranteeing my second night until 11am the next morning. I went to the front desk at 9:30am to officially extend the stay for a second night. The hotel assistant manager, ERIC, canceled my reservation because he oversold his hotel. No apology, no partnering hotel suggestions, no solution. I am displaced from Hurricane Helene and officially have no place to go. Corporate was no help.
Amazing staff and customer service. Clean and has everything you need! Our dog was able to stay. Beds were comfy. Close to beach. Far off the main road so it was quiet at night. Plenty of parking if you have a trailer. I would definitely stay again.
1, closer to 0! A very bad from the get go, sadly nothing positive about this property from poor signage, off the main road, the building set behind a decayed lot, unfriendly FD Staff, not interested in doing her job, smelly bed bug fumigation in room which was eye watering and was told there were no other rooms with King beds, despite the parking lot being empty? Having to rush out to dinner, the issue was revisited as I'd burnt 56,000 points on a 2* stink hole of a hotel. Asking to have the points refunded and a discounted rate provided, the FD Staff advised to speak with the Manager in the morning. In the morning the request was agreed to but the reversal was not done and the Manager was fired or likely quit due to the lack of professionalism and care for this tired, smelly property. Not sure who'd want to work in those circumstances. Despite rehashing the situation to Customer Service, the issue has been dismissed.
As I arrived late the day I checked in, I waited at the front desk while a guy in front of me was bellyaching because he didn't get fresh sheets on his bed for the extra day he stayed. I waited patiently for about 10-15 mins to get checked in. I finally expressed my concern about wanting to get checked in, he was promptly VERY rude to me and it was at this point that the clerk finally acknowledged me and I was told I was to go to kiosk to check in. VERY IMPERSONAL!!!! THAT STARTED OF BAD. I was also told in the morning on the phone, that the pet charge was $25 and when I checked in to the kiosk person, Max, told me that the charge is $35. You can throw away my kitty poop then too.
Bill was adjusted to higher amount than booked at. Was told it would be taken care of. It wasn't! Will be disputing the charges and modify the review should it be corrected. Simply increased the room rate by $ 15.00 plus tax without explanation.
Terrible experience…..Front desk at check inn said I was lucky to get a room as they sold out ! Ac didn't work in room and in the morning she ask why I didn't call front desk ?? YOU TOLD ME WE GOT THE LAST ROOM !!! Toilet seat was ready to slide off , light out in bathroom, no tissues! Terrible breakfast, runny eggs bad orange juice etc just bad !!!
Great little gem tucked behind a Cracker Barrel restaurant. Next door is a Carnival themed restaurant with pricey food choices, the hamburgers are delicious though. If you like Italian, a Carrabba's is across the street. They have ample free parking at this location and far enough off the street so you don't here the cars. They have a nice breakfast area where you can catch up on the local news or enjoy reading a magazine.
This is one of our go to stay places when we have to be in Bradenton. It is on the road that a few miles down the road leads into Cortez then Bradenton Beach. The room was clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. There was a nice breakfast and the hotel is pet friendly. Prices depend on when you go but are reasonable. Plenty of parking.
The hotel was clean. My room was very comfortable with all amenities. It had an outdoor pool, which I used. Hot breakfast with something different everyday. The staff was very pleasant. If you needed something other than breakfast at the hotel there was a Cracker Barrel in front of the hotel.
We stayed at the Best Western for our business trip and everything was wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were great. Internet was fast and everything I needed was provided. Great stay.
Far better than I expected as I have stayed at other hotels. Desk clerk very pleasant and experienced with a smile. Room very clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a great selection and all items freshly prepared.
Rusty tub, carpet damp, musty smell. This place needs complete renovation. Not worth the price. Smoke wafting in from illegal smokers under portico. Bubbling fumagator on reception desk made smell worse. Find somewhere else to stay.
Lack of customer service at this hotel. Was disappointing as I have stayed at this location previously which is why we stayed there again and this time was AWFUL. No acknowledgment of issues at the hotel ... felt basically that it was up to me to deal with their problems. Had we not already checked in I would have cancelled my reservation and moved elsewhere. Also .... know that it is NOT a heated pool .... at all.
Arrived around 1:30 and was told to come back at 3 because that's when check in was. No problem we just drove over to Anna Marie Island and had late lunch. The room was pretty good, no issues. the pool was not very warm, dirty, and way too small also, in the shade all day, so we only used it once. The breakfast hot items could have been fresher, seems like they were sitting in the warmers for too long. Other breakfast items were very average. Location was good for us as we went to the beach a couple times. Overall experience was very average, I've stayed at much nicer Best Westerns.
This was one of the most unclean places I've ever stayed. The smell hit you the minute you walked in and it was hard to get comfortable after that! The hallway smelled and then the room did too! I'm not sure if they own a vacuum cleaner because it certainly hasn't been used in a while. The place definitely needs some touch up work. Surprisingly, the bed was good and sheets were clean! Once the smell and dirty carpets got to me, I couldn't get past it and couldn't wait to wake up and get out of there!
Almost canceled my room and contacted everyone else in our group but me, told us they would “honor” our rates when “they were wrong”. Little to no water pressure in the shower, had to use different room to shower, showers on the second floor were different than showers on the third floor, no working fan in bathroom, outlet almost started our charger on fire, 2 different light bulbs in room, ac was ok, no water in vending machines, elevator would hardly work, pool was in front of hotel so barely sun exposure, can't get back in from the pool area have to go around. Carpets in hotel were gross. Breakfast was good, bed was nice
We experienced a few issues during our stay but the staff was exceedingly friendly. We mentioned a couple things at check out and the staff/manager ensured our concerns were listened to and addressed. We would definitely return and will be sharing with friends and family our good experience with the hotel staff!
I made a mistake thinking that I reserve it for 2 nights, I received a call saying I need to pick up my belongings or it will be discarded, I was on the Train Museum (Reenactor), could not get off and started panicking. The pillows were still wet from washing and the bed was also still damp, with all of that and that had happened made me mad but they were willing to put us in another room, that room was not all that great, I did not have my credit card on me to reserve another room, so they put all of my stuff on a bag.
I would not return and certainly not up to the standards of the “ plus” brand. My room had an awful odor, It was dark and dank and not inviting and not at a reasonable price. There were non guests hanging in the parking lot. Just unpleasant. The breakfast was horrible with little choice, hard as rock English muffins, and Luke warm coffee ( cold after adding milk) I stayed at a BWP 2 weeks ago which was better but this experience has made me lose trust in the brand. The hotels in Area are gouging due to Hurricane Ian. I will file a complaint with state.
We stayed here as a last minute emergency due to our expected accomodations under construction and this hotel was within 5 minutes to everything we needed for this trip. We had travelled 12 hours and were exhausted! The front desk woman was pleasant, however, she announced out loud what room she was putting me in, while a "stranger" was standing at the front desk. Not cool ever, but especially since the area was very shady. There were homeless people sleeping in the parking lot and several other people wandering around that did not look safe. We were exhausted and went to our room and went straight to sleep. The room itself looked fine at first glance, but we were honestly too tired to care. The next day, we realized we need to extend our stay a day or two and the front desk manager took care of that for us. My husband left every morning at 7am and we did not return until after 10pm, just to crash. The second day, I was making our bed and saw bodily fluids on the sheets!!! I wanted to gag. These were not our bodily fluids I can promise. I pulled the sheets and tried to communicate with housekeeping, however I do not speak spanish and she did not speak english. I literally went down to the manager in tears and explained the situation. He offered to comp one night and then proceeded to go get and hand me sheets. Not offer to have housekeeping come in or even change our room? Just hand me clean sheets??? The area immediately surrounding the hotel is very iffy and shady. There were people sleeping in their cars in the parking lot every night and homeless sleeping under the bushes. We were desperate, however, we will never ever stay in this hotel again.
We booked our Suite with a Kitchenette and pre-paid $1,042.23 in advance for the room. When we check in, we were told that there was no internet or t.v. service. when we got to our room it was a standard room. When I asked, we were told the manager Debbie gave it to someone else. The gentleman behind the counter called the Marriott and got us a suite there. When we have asked a couple times for our money back, we were simply told no. We go to Bradenton 2 or 3 times a year; we will avoid this place from now on. Travis M. in Seattle
I check-in the Hotel on May 26,2022. There was a new GM "Debbie", we called the hotel in advance that please make sure our room is ready as we are here for funeral. At the time of check-in she even did not get up from the chair like a normal person, was just moving here and there with her chair. Have you ever seen anything like this before? Is this the manners to check-in a guest, We were talking that she might be the GM of Super 8 hotel is something that down standard. Management should see that person like this at your hotel bring the hotel image down. We asked for some extra towels as we where 4 people, same again she was moving with her chair and finding the towels and than said us "I currently do not have any towels, wait for 30 mins" Breakfast attended lady was unknowing, we personally thought that she is in need of tip because every other minute she comes to our table and ask "How's the breakfast" I am like come on give me a break, we already said 3 times it is good. God, will never stay here or recommend anyone to stay here.
As a Best Western Rewards member who has stayed at BWs all over, I am beyond appalled at the management and discrimination at this one. I booked the only room for handicapped weeks in advance. When I arrived from four weeks of rehab, the driver of the van took me to my room. I had not had anything to eat or drink for a few hours. There was nothing in the frig. The tv didn't work, and the clock had not bern reset to dst. On a walker, I called the desk to ask for water or any beverage. The night manager came with a plastic cup of water and said, “You belong in a nursing home.”! There was a sign outside “this hotel can refuse service to anyone.” I called corporate and was given a ticket number and was told the sign was correct. The next day, in the lobby in front of other guests, the manager Walter Cottle yelled at me,”You complained to corporate about this hotel? I want you out of here in 3 days or I'll evict you.” I had paid for nine days as my kitchen was being renovated and I wasn't allowed to be near mold. I also paid for my little emotional therapy dog. As we attempted to come through the automatic front doors, the doors closed on us. I screamed but there was noone at the desk. (Saw them repairing the next day.” ) At the big breakfast buffet, other guests offered to help me carry with my walker. Cottle told his staff to avoid me. The tv at breakfast blared Fox News. I was told Fox owns BW. I stayed only because my contractor called Cottle. Every time I took the dog out, my walker caught on the rubber mat at the front door, tripping me. Jennifer, the manager's assistant who booked me originally and was the only nice thing about this place, witnessed all this. Corporate never contacted me. When I called corporate back, they affirmed that their managers could indeed refuse service to anyone for any reason. I wasn't surprised to hear a well-dressed black man complaining at the desk that he was treated rudely. I told his wife, who was standing at the door, that I too had been treated rudely. I have stayed at 4 &5 star hotels in this country and abroad. If all Best Westerns endorse this kind of discrimination, I will never use my reward points with one again. This is all factual. The best I can say is that their one room for handicapped was clean and well-appointed and their cleaning women were polite and did an excellent job.
Exceptionally clean, very friendly staff, great breakfast, nice small pool, outdoor seating, bathroom nice, comfy bed, modern TV. 15 minute drive to beaches. Places to eat close by, plus close to a few bars. Stay here with confidence, it's great.
We were very happy with our stay at the Best Western Plus Bradenton. The friendly staff was welcoming on our arrival- our thanks to Mike at the front desk for making us feel like friends. Our room was large, nice & very clean. Our thanks to housekeeping for making this room nice for us. Checkout was quick & easy. There was a hot breakfast, which we found better than most hotels, especially after Covid. And parking was easy here too, which isn't always true of hotels where we find spaces tight to park and have to worry about our car getting nicked. We definitely would come back & definitely recommend this hotel.
I've really liked the service here. The front lady was very kind and friendly, The scenery was very good and the atmosphere was amazing. I figured out their hotel from the reviews and a recommendation from my soccer coach. Over all it's a wonderful place.
Can't even put into words how grateful I am for Jennifer, my friends and I needed a last minute stay and she made it happen super easily. She had an amazing customer service and was super professional. Hotel is also very tidy and organized. Definitely recommend coming to this location!
My experience at Best Western was absolutely amazing. The front desk lady Jennifer, was incredibly helpful for me and my friends, and incredibly nice to us as well. She treated us like family and would recommend this hotel to anybody just because of her hospitality
Great customer service I literally couldn't ask for better. Me and my friends really needed the help and we came here and got it. Jennifer was absolutely amazing she's such a nice employee and an even better person. Me and my friends love her.
Was greeted by Jennifer and she absolutely killed it! Her customer service was awesome and she helped my friends and I out so much. Hotel was also very clean and our room was perfect for a last minute stay. I definitely recommend coming here!!
Hotel was difficult to find as it was off the main road behind a Cracker Barrel restaurant. You needed to travel at 10 mph to see the sign which was impossible due to the busy roadway. For $250 a night for a show and a nights sleep, the hotel industry is trying to make up for lost time. Nothing special about this place.
Very clean property and friendly. Loved the colors and decor of the inside with local artwork. Rooms were very clean and breakfast staff was very friendly. I will definitely stay there again and give them a thumbs up.
Trash all around the property. Floors not mopped regularly. We had the handicap room. there was barely enough room for the wheelchair to get in and backup between the two queen beds. The bathroom was plenty big enough with a large shower seat in the roll-in shower.
This hotel is located close to the beach we had easy access to Waterfront restaurants on the beach. My life when I stayed here on January 1st after being on the road trip for three and a half weeks it was a nice relaxing hotel to stay. I enjoyed using the gym. Their breakfast choices were excellent and includes fruits and snack bars. If you're in the area I would definitely recommend this hotel. It is located next to Cracker Barrel restaurant easy to find
Great staff, rooms were clean, fast checkin, and a very clean property all around. We will be back. Close to the beach and other areas. I have to say the manager was very helpful to get us what we needed.
This is the 2nd time we have stayed here but the first with our small dog. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and we could part our car to be seen from our room. The hotel sits behind a Cracker Barrel and although the hotel does serve breakfast for any other meal it makes it convenient. Since it sits behind the Cracker Barrel you don't get much of the road noise.
This is my 2nd stay here. The staff was pleasant from Check in to Check out. I have Jennifer to thank for the clean & attractive breakfast bar! Hot food is one of the reasons I chose this Hotel. She prepares this food like family and friends are about to show up. She is a Valued employee to have at your company. As for my Room....Terrible! When I walked inside it smelled awful. Sex stains on the lime green chair, stains on All the Lampshades, dirty carpet & stains. I used most of the bath towels to sit on the chairs. The shower curtain rod is broken so the shower curtain would not close properly. Had to use more towels to clean up the excess water. Throw away Outside front entrance Wicker furniture. Its cushions are worn & filthy.
Dirty, run down, super sketchy and seemed borderline unsafe. We were grossed out at how filthy the elevator and carpet was. Our room was run down as well and not very clean. The final straw was a dirty towel left in the closet. We left, asked for a refund & won't be back. The whole place had a creepy vibe about it. We are unfamiliar with the area, but it seemed like that area of town wasn't very nice. We ended up leaving and then had to drive in the dark until we found a great hotel across town. The only good thing about the place is the gentleman at the front desk was nice.
Normally we're able to stay at the property where my mom lives but with pandemic rules in place we had to get a hotel for the week. The property is nice, quiet and a reasonable distance from her apartment. The staff was attentive and helpful. Like most places, they are short-handed so we elected to not have housekeeping come in every day.
The place is worth recommending. I requested some changes to my reservations--instead of 1 room for 2 nights to 2 rooms for 1 night and I was assisted without a problem. They had decent breakfast. I did not have the time to enjoy my breakfast as I was running late, but there were breakfast items to-go available and it helped me a lot
Best place to stay and the staff was GREAT. Thank you Walter . The breakfast was awesome and it was a very quiet and relaxing place to stay. The bed was extremely soft and the room was great. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
Found bed beds in luggage when I got home. Also I use a wheelchair & the elevator had issues several times giving errors before reaching the floor my room was on then automatically returning to the ground level. Shower chair provided was useable, but had bent legs & was unlevel.
All the staff was friendly and courteous. Best part was the cleanliness of the inside rooms and the grounds outside. The pool was clean and the breakfast was awesome. Attendant Deana was friendly and very helpful. Excellent location. Management keeps a watchful eye on the place. I will stay again.
Excellent rooms / clean / great area. New staff is excellent and very accommodating. Best deal in the area. A hidden gem!!!!. Hotel has a new manager and he has improved the property completely and has great goals set for the near future.
We came in town as a group. It started off a little rough with the general manager not being so welcoming BUT ended up being a great stay. The staff was very attentive especially Jeremy who should be a manager, the front desk staff was amazing always there to help, friendly. We had a big group and they were accommodating to anything we needed. We would definitely stay here again it was off the main road set back and it was close to everything. It was clean. Our biggest concern was being in a safe area and it seemed fine no issues.
I will definitely be staying again. My home from home. Very clean room. Bathroom was very clean stay was friendly. Location has everything you need. Walking distance to everything around. Beach down the road.
We got a room for one night. It just so happened to be a Sunday, which apparently still falls into the "weekend" price. 2 queens, fridge, microwave. Carpets musky smelling, and sticky. Whatever cable TV they had didn't even get NBC!!! And was in and out of signal a lot.... Our room was on second floor. But Mike told me our room is right by the stairs. Yippee!! THE ELEVATOR was out!!!! Which made this a popular area of traffic all night. Got AAA discount. And STILL paid $140+ for room. Yes... That was for 1 night. (Sunday. Price goes down Monday) At first they couldn't even find my reservation. Complimentary breakfast consists of coffee, apples, oranges and spotted bananas. JUST NOT WORTH THAT PRICE!! The only reason they can ask these prices, is because they're only 7 miles from the beach.
Staff was so friendly and rooms were very clean. Best place to stay in the Bradenton area. The new General Manager was friendly and took care of everyone. He was multitasking like no other. Staff was efficient.
CLEANEST hotel we've stayed in over the past 2 years & we've stayed in a bunch. I'm not lying this was the CLEANEST hotel with the warmest welcome we've received in two years of traveling the country. The room we had was HUGE the bed was so comfortable & we looked right outside to the pool. We didn't have ANY noise issues at all & slept great. WE ARE STAYING HERE AGAIN IF & WHEN WE NEED TO!
Was satisfied with my stay. Staff was courteous and accommodating. Very close to my child's school which was a plus. Another Breakfast place was very close to the hotel as well as other local places for breakfast and dinner.
We stayed 4 nights recently and it seemed like a month! Our bed linens and furnishings were stained and torn. I'm not sure if they were actually dirty or just stained, but when they could not accomodate us to another room, we opted to get "clean" linens and strip our bed and pillows and re-make ourselves! The clientele in the hotel was shady and homeless sleeping in parking lot.
A pleasant surprise during this crazy covid time to find a facility that went out of their way to make you feel comfortable. A pleasant staff going out of their way to communicate and try to keep you safe.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful hotel inside and out. Breakfast could be better, but these are the times we're in. Everything I've come to expect from Best Western. Very good value for the price.
clean friendly hotel with friend service and easy check in and check out. rooms are great, lots of room. hotel is quiet, and a nice outdoor area to relax. breakfast was done safely. large parking lot and convince of restaurants close by
I was surprised to read some of the latest reviews because my experience was very different. The front desk staff (Oscar, GM and other gentleman night staff) were very helpful in finding me and my dogs a room that met my needs even though the hotel was fuller due to the island voluntary evacuation. They definately accomadated me even though they could have turned me away but they were very helpful to me at this stressful time during the hurricane voluntary evacuation. The room was very cean and very comfortable. Air conditioning, shower worked great and nice size tv. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast wasnt a 5 star restaurant but they had different options and we need to be safe with covid so that limits options everywhere. Vending Machines on each floor with snacks and drinks. Steps from Cracker Barrel and a lot of other food places and shopping close by. Elavators worked good and there are 2 stairways to use if needed. Its only 3 floors. Three different cardio machines that were new and nice machines. Planet Fitness near by if needed. Pool looked clean but I didnt get in because of storm. Outside lighting was good for walking dogs outside at night. Felt safe. Walked them around the building. There were areas for dogs to use for bathroom with bags and trashcan but people didnt pick up after their dogs. There were a few people playing cards and watching tv in the community sitting area. Good location if visiting. I definately recommend this Best Western and will stay again for evacuation. Thank you. Jenny and dogs Holmes Beach, Fl
I understand COVID is going on BUT the elevator got stuck with us in it more than three times, the free breakfast included apple cider (?) and terrible waffles with only spoons and knives, no forks (??), bagels were only available if you asked in advance, there were 4 of us but we kept only getting 3 towels, the pool was shut down very early in the day, but hey they had a bunch of cable channels and the shower water was nice.
Traveled with family, but had a different reservation from them. Hotel Manager, Oscar, didn't bother looking up first names in the reservations, so he tried giving my parents my room. Had to correct that. Door to our room was open when we got there, even though housekeeping was already done. Room had a musty odor. Every piece of metal in the room was either rusty or corroded. Just about everything else had dust on it. A/C was partially resting on some plywood so it wouldn't fall down. Toiletries were not changed out before we got there. Water pressure was almost nonexistent. Heard everything that was said in the hallways. Room wasn't worth half of what we paid.
This was our second time staying at this hotel and it was a disaster. The people working the front desk clearly did not want to be there and were not trained. They were not friendly and not helpful. They threw their hands up & basically told me that they could not help me. The room smelled awful and needed a deep cleaning. The shower curtain smelled like mold! Yuck! There were people in the next room partying past midnight. Loud! I will never stay here again and I warn you to run! If I could give zero stars, I would.
The stay was good at first. Then we had issues with the shower rod and rail being loose. They didn't repair while we were out of the hotel so they switched our room. My husband talked to the night guy, Oscar, and was told we would have a free night stay, and because we were planning on extending our stay, he was going to comp us that night we were extending our stay with. So we didn't worry about check out, thought everything was good. Then get a call at 11:30 that we missed check out. Then Oscar said that wasn't what he said. And instead of trying to work it out with us they told us to just leave. We had no complaint until that issue. What a huge inconvenience.
We generally stay in palmetto or Ellentpn but had to find a different hotel while attending a week long event at the convention center. First day hard to find and way too much traffic back and forth. Husband sleeps in chair and from web site looked like comfortable chair but not too great. Ended up borrowing a straight chair from breakfast area. Hotel said only had 1 handicap room which was already taken. Breakfast lady very nice but food just ok.
We arrived about 1030am and had asked if we could just drop off our luggage so that we could explore until check-in. They found a room that was ready with our specs and allowed us to check in extra early. We unloaded and went out to enjoy the sunshine! Breakfast every day was fresh and tasty. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. My wife is particular and she was very happy with everything. Every staff member that we encountered was very friendly. Great location as we were down for Spring training baseball. We felt safe in the area and were able to get what we needed nearby with many options for dinner.
We were in Bradenton to visit with some friends. We were able to visit by the pool and made some new friends along the way. Great comfortable rooms and the Cracker Barrel right in front for any food you might want. The hotel is a straight way to the beach, about 5 miles.
Nice and clean rooms. The rooms have a small coffee pot, microwave and fridge. Friendly staff. We didn't get to try the hot breakfast due to the Coronavirus. They had take and grab breakfast at the front desk. Some bags had a bagel with cream cheese, English muffin, blueberry muffin, and an orange. They had juice and coffee that you can self serve. And some yogurt. My only issue is that there were wholes on the sheet and comforter.
Stayed here for a couple of nights during Presidents Day Weekend. The good hotels in Sarasota tend to be expensive, so I decided to save some money and stay in adjacent Bradenton. The place is a little hard to find as it located behind a Cracker Barrel restaurant. There was plenty of free parking, though, which is always a plus. During check-in, the front desk person was engaged in conversation with another employee and seemed a little annoyed that he had to stop to check me in. He was very business like during the process, not really unfriendly but not particularly welcoming either. I stayed in room 205. The room was a little smaller than expected, certainly smaller than how it appeared in the website photos, but it was adequate for a solo traveler. As other reviewers have noted, the room seemed to have a strange odor that has been likened to mold. However, I did not see evidence of mold anywhere, and the room otherwise looked quite clean. There was no chest of drawers, which I didn't like and found to be rather odd. Moreover, the toilet made a jackhammer like rumbling sound after flushing. This only lasted a few seconds, thankfully, and the toilet itself was perfectly functional, which is the main thing. The decor was thoroughly unremarkable as is typical of most mid level hotel chains, but I do have to say that the bed was very comfortable and I slept well during the night. I am at a loss to understand why this property has received so many five star reviews. Yes, it is relatively affordable and conveniently located near the beaches and just about a 15 minute drive from The Ringling, Jungle Gardens, and other downtown Sarasota sites. However, the hotel itself is the very definition of average, okay for a night or two to explore the area, but nothing special. I doubt if I would stay here again.
The price of the hotel room was okay, the check in and check out process was okay, and our room was very clean. However, our room (room 312) had an awful odor. It smelled like maybe a mold issue. It is very humid in this area and no amount of air freshener and cleaner can cover up the smell.
This hotel is located on a major road, it is clean, provides breakfast, bed is comfortable and staff was nice. There was an odd smell in the room and Im not sure if it was mold. It did not bother me too much, but would most likely bother a sensitive person.very tiny outdoor pool and gym with a few pieces of equipment. The breakfast was eggs, sausage or bacon, potatoes, belgian waffles, muffins, bananas, breads, juice and, coffee. The food was not good, but adequate if you are in a rush. the staff was very friendly and helpful. there is a washer and dryer that came in handy. a computer to use, but no real business center. I recommend it for a good place to sleep, but not much else. We were visiting family for a few days and it was worth the price. I'd stay here again.
Very good , very clean . Assistant Manager. Carla very helpful ,a pure breath of fresh air , greeting us when left , when we returned , and times in between so nice ! Manager Oscar , always asking if we needed anything ,and if he could help us with anything !
Your GPS will get you close but this place is located behind the Cracker Barrel restaurant with only a small sign to show you how to get back to this Best Western. The staff is very good from the maids to the front desk staff. The hot breakfast was very good and the eating area is nicely maintained. The rooms are clean, large and have a fairly large bathroom area. The location just off of Cortez Rd. W is centrally located to all of Bradenton. A reasonable price with a good location and a hot breakfast. A very good experience.
Easy in/out behind Cracker Barrel, beside Tequila Flats restaurant and a 7-11. Quick check in. I stayed a total of 5 nights; one w/discount rate, one with free voucher and three for special bonus points. There were no qualms about the rates as I've had in other places. Two queen beds, Rm 203 was clean with good TV reception and wi-fi.
wE try to stay in Best Western Plus. We never had a problem till now. Do not stay in room 112. Beautiful room right next to the fitness center. We got woken up at 6:50 A.M. CLUMP, CLUMP,CLUMP, CLUMP, CLUMP wow what is that sounded like someone coming through the wall. We were next to the fitness center and someone n the Treadmill was running, it is in the next room right behind our bed. Food (breakfast) was excellent, rooms clean and not too far from the beach. Nice place to stay. Everyone was nice.
Nice property. 1/2 way between the airport and the beach. Quiet enough although I would recommend a designated area for truck parking, especially the ones that start up in the morning. Sort of spoils the romantic effect. Cracker Barrel right next door. How do you compete with that? You need to offer the breakfast package, I completely understand. However, I appreciate the romamce side of an in-house galley with a little creative thinking a link to the facility, 'right next door' would offer your guests an over the top experience, or at least a very good choice.
Awesome room and amenities. Rooms seem to be very clean as well as the bathroom. No foul smells or scents. Will stay again and at this location. Great for couples and families just looking to get away for the weekend.
everything was perfect, good breakfast, clean room and a very good attention in the front desk.all areas were clean and I never heard noises in any area, the parking lot is huge and illuminated . the hotel location is excellent, near restaurants, gas stations, pharmacies and some state roads.
My experience with oscar and karla was awesome come get a room you will enjoy it. The food was great . They even cross market with la fitness and give you a free membership for a week . The cleaners was great, oscar even made sure I had VIP service for the gym inside
Having flooring installed and spent a night here to get away from the construction mess. This hotel is very convenient to restaurants, shops and our home. The staff is always friendly and professional. Breakfast hosts a wide variety of food. Free parking and wi-fi. Perfect!
the hotel need a little update the lightimg in the breakfast area could be a little better our room was 109 it was good and cleaned the staff is very good ai ask for something and they were there with in and hour the food for breakfiast was good alway hade coffee in the lobby pool area was good
The breakfast was great and the woman was friendly and did a good job of keeping things stocked. However, the housekeeping staff failed to maintain my room on two of my five nights. I reported this to a manager the first time that I got back and he blew me off. The manager the next morning scheduled someone to make up the room and it was handled. However, the next day, they'd skipped it again. I brought this to the attention of a third different manager who apologized and said he would bring it to the attention of the general manager. Whether he did or not, I don's know, but nothing was done about my problems.
Location staff rooms excellent!!! We will keep coming back. Restaurant and shopping are close. Rooms are quite and clean. Breakfast is excellent. Staff was always making sure we had everything we needed.
Easy check in, easy check out. Room was clean and bathroom was not too small. A little too much bleach smell upon check in. Rate was good for the area. Breakfast was very good and substantial. front desk staff and manager was helpful and friendly.
We had most of the hotel occupied with 5 of our high school and youth teams (over 80 people). Carla was a real asset to this hotel. She kept everything organized, clean and really just doesn't stop working. The breakfast is always filled, the common areas are always clean and the employees are always friendly and smiling. Thank you best western for the first class rooms and service and thank you Carla (Stape?) for helping make this the best trip so far. I will never stay in any other hotel when we come to town!
I have stayed in older BE that left me feeling disappointed, tired and maybe a little grossed out because of the lack of cleanliness. This one was really clean. The staff was kind and approachable. The pool was small but clean.
I stay at this Best Western often and I have no complaints. The staff is amazing and very helpful (especially Carla in front). Everyone is always willing to help with any issues you have and glad to recommend anything you are looking for. It is near several restaurants (Long Horn, Tijuana Flats, Olive Garden, etc). Great hotel for a good price. Recommended highly.
Too many negatives here at this Best Western, and we will not stay here again. Our first difficulties were at check-in. The first room they gave us had a funky smell to it, maybe pet urine. The second room offered to us smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Thankfully, the third room offered was clean and fresh, but missing an ironing board as we discovered when we needed one. That room was at the very end of the hall, and regrettably, the WiFi was poor. During our two nights here, the hallway on the 3rd floor was very noisy. Overall, an uncomfortable, difficult stay at a chain that is usually pretty reliable.
This hotel is conveniently located to restaurants, and about 24 minutes to Anna Maria. Great morning hot breakfast, staff was friendly and helpful. The water pressure in the shower was weak. The room itself was what you would expect for this class of hotel.
This Best Western was decent for the money. The pool was kind of small. The breakfast was good, with daily option changes. The staff was nice. Overall, for the price we paid, it was a decent stay. We would stay again.
Convenient location. IMG Academy, Sarasota Airport, plenty of restaurants all very close by. Friendly staff. Good typical breakfast fare that did some changing day to day (we stayed a wk.). Breakfast area could use a fresh coat of paint. Room was quiet & comfortable with a hard surface floor(no carpet). Small outdoor pool. Small gym with bike, elliptical, weight machine & nice treadmill(up to 12 MPH). Overall deserves better than average but nothing special to bump up to very good or excellent. I would stay here again.
We were only there for one night but from what I could see and experience it was a very nice hotel. My most important criteria were definitely met....a quiet and very clean room! The breakfast the next morning was the usual fare but quite good and there was plenty of it. We would definitely stay there again and we were made to feel welcome and they appreciated our business.
The desk staff here are very friendly and helpful, so I'm reluctant to write an average review, but I think it's worth calling out Best Western for advertising this location as "upscale" and "modern". Hard pillows & chairs, flimsy linens, low-end fixtures, a dirty elevator, slow & insecure wifi, limited breakfast fare, and nondescript commercial-district surroundings had us wondering if we were at the right address. Par for the course for any bargain hotel chain, but at the rate we paid we expected more.
We had a very poor experience from a private rental in this area and had to find a place to stay when tourist season was at its peak. The stress of the experience left me physically compromised and the staff here did everything they could to help me get through this tough time. They were able to find us room without compromising the cost, helped where they could - a rare commodity.
This hotel is decorated very contemporary to make it relaxing & comfortable. The manager, Chris, is great. He got me a room at the VERY LAST MINUTE when I didn't like the other hotel I had booked. It is convenient to restaurants & shopping within walking distance.
The room was clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a variety of things to eat. When offering directions to the hotel you may want to say that it is behind the Cracker Barrel. We arrived after dark and had a little difficulty seeing the sign. Also I would like to mention Mary, the lady who assisted at breakfast.
We arrived early in the day and asked to change clothes in the public rest room. Chris, the manager, told he thought he could go ahead and check us in early. He checked on the room and it was ready. This allowed us to check in, change clothes and head to the Pittsburgh Pirate spring training game, with enough time in between to enjoy Bradenton's Riverwalk. Chris and his staff are great!
Long story short, place looks nice from the outside but problems galore once we entered our room. Had to change rooms and it wasn't any better. BW is usually our 3rd or 4th option when traveling and are often hit or miss. This one is just a miss. Will say the staff at the property was very nice.
The staff was extremely kind and aware of their guests. The cleaning staff had even remembered that we had out DND sign out for a couple of days and asked if we needed any extra towels or shampoos. The room was clean and everything worked.
Nice place right off of interstate. Many restaurants in the area. Breakfast area was adequate, and well stocked. Front desk staff was helpful, Did not use the exercise or pool facilities. Lots of parking at this hotel
this is our 2nd stay at the best western plus gateway on cortez road in bradenton, florida. it took us 3 years to find this hotel. after mostly misses, with hotels in the area, we found the best western last september. the location is very good. it is west of us 41/tamiami and approx. 3 miles from anna maria/bradenton beach/coquina beach. also, 3-4 miles from I-75. many restaurants, walmart, walgreens closeby. best western is located behind the cracker barrel. this hotel is relatively new; i would guess built within last 10 years. the lobby is a nice size which includes the breakfast eating area; plenty of room tables and chairs. not cramped like alot of hotel eating areas can get during breakfast time. always hot coffee, tea, and ice water avalable night and day. this is much appreciated, since my wife drinks 5 cups of coffee a day. large hdtv in this area also. the hotel is super clean. elevator works efficiently. our room # 214 is a handicapped room with a wide bathroom door. shower and bathtub all worked well. well maintained. this room has 2 queen size beds; a desk; 40"(?) hdtv, that sits on a high cabinet that houses the refrigerator and microwave, and along with storage shelves. the beds and pillows very comfortable. window has blackout shades. very quiet; far enough away from elevator. 214 overlooks the outdoor pool. the wifi worked superb. easy to get connected. once connected, it automatically connected us everyday; for the whole week. fast; no connection issues; my wife watches netflix. staff is stupendous. manager is 2nd to none. maids very good, especially erin. just put the do not disturb sign out, and sleep in. breakfast is 4 out of 5 stars. good eggs, sausage patties, eggs with cheese(like a omelet), sausage gravy and biscuits. good coffee. oj. cold cereal. fruit. waffle maker. $129/night booked thru booking.com.. we booked six months out, is reason we got better rate, because rates are higher now at peak of winter month february.
Hotel location was good. Restaurants within walking distance. Only a 5-6 mile drive to waterfront beach area. Beds comfortable. Breakfast had good selection. Wifi poor, could not connect in room. Had to go to lobby to connect and stay to do internet stuff
It is not a terribly fancy hotel but it was much more than adequate for a quickly planned one night stay. Everyone was courteous, helpful, service was great, breakfast was great (except no bacon... :-( Otherwise, it was fine. I have a very good stay.
We stayed here one night with our dog. It is pricey if you are a walk-in, so check on line and you may find a lower price. The staff was friendly and we had a room that allowed pets......no carpet. Even if I didn't have a pet I prefer a room with no carpet otherwise I wear my shoes. Our room was on the first floor end of the hall.....really quiet. There was a free breakfast which included eggs, coffee, toast etc. they do have a nice pool outdoors and a gym. They charge a $20.00 fee for a small dog. I would stay here again it is in a nice location set back from Cortez which makes it quiet. If you like Cracker Barrel you are in luck, you have to pass it in order to get to the hotel which is on the backside. Lots of parking too. There are also other restaurants within walking distance.
The hotel was very clean and staff was extremely pleasant and ensured that everything that I needed they could get or provide me the info needed. Great recommendations by Chris for close by dining and shopping. Highly recommended if visiting the area
This BW has great staff. They go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. I stayed an extra night and Chris made sure I did not have to change rooms. He is very friendly and quite considerate. The location on Cortez is great and every type of restaurant is convenient. Good quick internet.
BW PLUS/ CORTEZ was a great stay and value!! My credit card was declined at check-in, and I know at most other properties I would have been turned away. BW PLUS general manager worked with me until I could resolve the problem. Thanks Chris Sears and the BWPlus staff... I will be back!!!
Very friendly staff and very helpfull. My wife and I will stay their any time we are in the area. Debbie when booking, Chris at check in and Mary for the breakfast are all three great people. It is so good to see there is still great people that like doing a great job and enjoying there job at the same time.
Stayed here several times and management went out of their way to provide a room close to entrance for my partner who was ill. The manager and a staff member helped us with our bags and our wheelchair. We felt that we had a friend there during a trying time and we greatly appreciated their help.
my wife and i stayed at the best western plus gateway cortez avenue bradenton, florida for 5 days. OUTSTANDING!! we had high expectations because of the good reviews i had read on tripadvisor and booking.com. we have been staying alot in bradenton/sarasota on our last 4 trips to florida. the best western was by far the BEST. first, the location is great; near 41/tamiami trail and 2-3 miles(?) from our favorite beach coquina on bradenton beach. many restaurants within 10 minutes; walmart toward the beach; gas stations; banks, etc. also, close to bradenton/sarasota airport, and only 15 minutes from downtown sarasota, maybe 20 minutes to st. armands circle, 30 minutes to siesta key beach, 12 minutes to ringling, and 15 minutes to marie selby gardens. the hotel is right behind a cracker barrel restaurant. the hotel is relatively new; the manager told me 10 years old. really clean and well maintained outside parking and landscaping, nice area to pull-up to unload car. plenty of parking. pool is very clean, with tables and chairs. the lobby is nice, also serves as the breakfast area. the staff were very welcoming, especially manager and cleaning staff. we always slept late, and maids were always able to make-up/clean our room. the room with 2 comfortable queen beds was medium size, with blackout shades, plenty of pillows, microwave, coffee maker, fridge. the internet worked fast, and easily connected. our room was a handicap room, so bathroom was alittle bigger(room # 214). breakfast was very, very good. the usual carton scramble eggs were ok. sausage patties very good. biscuits and sausage gravy. YIPPEE!! i love the SOUTH. other cold cereal, milk, grits, fruit, o/j ok. very good coffee. one of my favorites, was there was ALWAYS ice tea, ice water with lemon, and coffee available during non-breakfast hours. very thoughtful, and very appreciated. i would recommend the best western plus gateway bradenton, florida!! for sure. looking forward to staying here again. the price, we paid $106 during the week and $124(?) on the weekend days.
One important reason to select Best Western is knowing that you will receive great customer service and that is true at this Best Western. All staff, and especially manager Chris Sears, were attentive to our needs. Breakfast was well supplied with a nice variety, rooms were comfortable and the location was suitable for our travel plans.
I recently checked into the Best Western Plus/Gateway Hotel in Bradenton, Florida on Cortez Rd. At check in Carla and Chris were smiling and eager to help me! They had my keys ready for my room and told me about restaurants in the area if I was wanting to dine out. The house keepers, Zach and Maite made sure my room was cleaned and always asked if there was anything I needed to give them a call. The following morning I went down for breakfast where Mary was making sure that everything was in order and coffee was ready. My room was comfortable and quite. Upon check out I meet the owner PD and made sure that I got the names of everyone that had made my stay the very best! Above and beyond customer service! Thank you all! Pamela , from West Palm Beach, Florida
Excellent experience. Wonderful staff. Pet friendly. All around fantastic experience. Would stay again. Great location, close to everything. Rooms were very clean, beds were nice and comfortable. Plenty of room for everyone.
Great experience all the way around! Great staff and great manager (Chris) Pet friendly at a reasonable rate! Other hotels wanted a 100.00 non refundable deposit! Would stay there again in a heartbeat!
From check in with Chris, the General Manger, to the staff all over the hotel, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. You can tell that he is loved and respected by the staff, in my opinion anyway. They all seemed to know about each others lives and jumped in to many jobs to help each other out and make the guests feel special. It was like being home with family. They all got along so well. They run a very clean ship, everyone was talking and working at the same time, Even Chris was cleaning right along with the staff. When we went to check in, if it wasn't for his name tag, we wouldn't have known he was the GM. He upgraded us from a king suite to an apartment. That was a big help for me having back issues. There was a couch and a real fridge so I cold keep my ice pack for my back frozen while there. Chris was charming, and and knew the area very well. When we travel we always look to go local when eating out to support the local community. Our first choice for dinner is always German, BOY did Chris know the perfect spot, the Edelweiss 4 miles away. After being stationed in Germany, I'm picky. The food was to die for. He told us about a breakfast restaurant, but we decided to stay at the hotel for the complementary breakfast. When we came downstairs, it smelled awesome! We met Mary, who was in charge of getting the guests off to a great start. Again, it was spotless! And the food you could tell was made with care right down to the eggs that at many other places look and taste like yuck. They were great, and the biscuits and gravy were to die for. Mary kept everything full and fresh. All the while chatting with the guests. We will definitely be heading back to this hotel in a few months when I'm craving German food again. We live in Palm Bay, FL,180 miles a way, but it is so worth the drive for both the hotel and restaurant. Thank you all for a great weekend. Debby and Jim Nealon
First I must say that they have the friendliest staff of probably any hotel Ive been to. All of the employees we encountered went above and beyond to accommodate my family and I. We were able to check in a few hours early at no extra charge. We were also told they would put us for a noon checkout instead of the usual 11am. We didn't end up needing to checkout later then 11am but again they were not going to charge anything extra had we needed to do so. Only complaint is the cleanliness of the room could have been a lil better. I think it was partly due to the fact we were in a pet friendly room with our cat(fur is a pain to get out of some things). When we spoke to the front desk we were offered to switch rooms.
This is a exceptionally nice Best Western. I would highly reccomend this to singles couples or families. The rooms are very clean and comfortable beds. They serve a nice hot breakfast with lots to choose from.
We've stayed here every year for a mini-vacation in the Bradenton/Sarasota area. Always a wonderful experience; caring staff, spotless facility, upgraded room with amenities, fabulous hot buffet breakfast and central location. As good quality and value as you'd find in this area at half the price. On this summer's trip we encountered a highway accident that caused us to reroute resulting in a 6 1/2 hour trip which usually takes 3 1/2. Upon check-in, we found out that our reservation was for the other BW plus in Sarasota. Kudos to Chris for booking us into a comparable room.
The day before we closed we needed a place for the night, this hotel is right around the corner from our new home. The front desk was very friendly and the rooms were clean. We feel comfortable recommending this location to friends and would not hesitate letting our family stay there. Pleaseanr surprise! Thanks.
The staff went above and beyond to help us in a bad situation. We arrived at 12:00 anti a dirty rental and Jessica got us a room immediately and looked into rates for our family for the week if needed. It was clean and welcoming. I would recommend a stay and thanks again to Jessica and the entire staff!
The front desk guy is a little bit rude, he never look at the guest. The room smell like old and the water in the bathroom smell really bad( poor pipe maintenance). The bed covers, bathroom floor was dirty.
We were there on business so being near attractions was not important. However, the staff were all very friendly. Rooms were neat and clean. Bed was comfy. There are plenty of food choices. The breakfast was amazing. The pool was clean but closed at dusk. Great hotel. Very well maintained and staff seemed happy to be there and accommodate. Will definitely return.
Our soccer team had 15 rooms for a weekend tournament. We travel all over the State of Florida and I can I tell you this hotel was excellent. Management was terrific, breakfast was very good, clean rooms. No complains. I strongly recommend this hotel.
The hotel was a positive experience - friendly staff; convenient to our needs in Bradenton; and the room was just right for us. We needed internet and business office support and the Wi-Fi was excellent and the small business set-up with computer and printer worked well.
This hotel was inviting and very clean and comfortable. I realized I left my makeup/accessories bag hanging on the back of the bathroom door. I called the hotel and spoke with Chris. He was kind and attentive to my situation. He made arrangements with UPS to ship to me. My pkg arrived with everything in tact. I am a happy/thankful customer??
Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The A/C did not cool very well and the room was humid and at times had a musty smell. The breakfast was good with scrambled eggs and sausage, waffles, breads, and fruit.
Family, small or large groups or individual, you will be pleased with this hotel experience. It's been updated and remodeled, and some of the rooms have hardwood floors installed now. That was wonderful, because it just made the rooms feel so clean and homey. The beds are the best, and the covers are to die for. Best of all, Chris, PD and the rest of the staff make you feel like family. They give you information about local things to see and do, and they really want to make your stay more enjoyable. They make you feel like it is a 4 star hotel just by their care and hospitality. Thank you, Chris, PD, and the late night gal for making it a wonderful stay! We love you guys!
good stay hotel, had all you might need for a few days, nice desk people, great breakfast , a basic hotel , did the trick for a few days stay to visit family, easy access to Sarasota /Bradenton airport , close to food
Scheduled this hotel with family for spring break. A very nice hotel which exceeded our expectations. It seemed as if the hotel had been recently renovated, but I was told no. Everything was great and we enjoyed our stay.
I Thought, the hotel was in great shape, had all the accommodations. It was located in a good area, we were able to walk to other places to eat and drink. thing were only a few minutes away. great bonus!
Great location expensive for amenities would stay again if price was less not worth almost $200 but what can you do if there is not another choice. VRBO?? Well that is what the trend is so that is where money will be the best bang for the buck! VRBO.
I have never stayed here and come to the area twice a year. I will tell you why this will be the only place we stay from here on out. I had 10 rooms and changed it every way possible, number of rooms, number of days, more days on certain rooms, cots in certain rooms etc. and Carla was so patient and friendly. She even returned emails etc. on her days off and just held my hand every step. The rooms where first class and not what you would expect from a mid level hotel chain either. All granite showers and vanities as well as dresser tops. The rooms are all decked out. This was a business trip with our High School all star football team that played in a local tournament. The staff was as nice as can be with all of us and breakfast was great. Its a real breakfast, from waffles to breakfast sandwiches and fruit, yogurt, pastries and more. They kept the breakfast buffet full at every sitting. Debbie is a workaholic and is a doer. She is constantly working and very helpful. deserves to be recognized as an asset to the team and you are lucky to have her. Only down side was the pool is kind of small and cheesy as it sits basically in a parking lot but its heated and does the job. This review is as real as it gets and we are going back in June and staying there again. Great job Best Western Plus!
Convenient location for us. Many stores, restaurants nearby. Good sized rooms. Very friendly, helpful staff! Has a family-like feeling. Manager Chris Sears 'runs a great hotel! Many good choices for buffet breakfast.
P.D. & the staff were wonderful. I was traveling alone felt safe. Rooms were clean & comfortable. Staff went above & beyond 4 me, gave me hugs, let me cry. Just like Family. Will only stay at this B. W.
The staff was polite. The rooms seemed like they had been cleaned sufficiently, however, the room smelled like a hay barn and we did see a few bugs. I wouldn't want to stay here again, but I guess it's not a place I would avoid like the plague either. I needed a hotel in that particular area of bradenton, and if you need a hotel right there for a night or two it would suffice. But if you don't need a hotel right there, I'd recommend finding something else.
I stayed here because it had a great rating and was less expensive than the Hampton. Now having stayed here I would highly recommend paying up and staying at the Hampton. First, the location is in a rough area of town. I thought it was right downtown by the water where the Hampton's but it wasn't. Second, the building is old, worn down and I would not give it a “plus” rating. To me it was more like a motel. Next, the breakfast was awful. You had a chose of a pre-made omelet or scrambled eggs that tasted like it was out for a long time. There was some yogurt, bagels and breads. Honestly, I bought breakfast each day. Next, the internet was so slow my iPhone wouldn't even download an app. Finally, when I checked in I was added as a member even though I said no. Hey fixed it but still... There is a saving grace though! The rooms are actually decent. The beds were comfortable. It comes with a microwave and fridge. The air conditioning gets the room nice and cool. If you just need a quick place to crash in a decent bed then this hotel is not bad. However, if you care more than that then go somewhere else.
This is a great place to stay, felt very safe, everything is new and clean. The location was perfect, close to the beaches, shopping and restaurants. Will definitely stay here again. Keep those review responses coming Chris, you kill me! Thanks for your hospitality...
With our son playing baseball in Bradenton we come down frequently to see him play. Ever since our first visit we always return to stay here. Chris and his staff are always accomodating, and great to talk to. We will be back again in March and looking forward to our stay.
The room was tastefully decorated, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and so many choices! The Manager, Chris and his staff were very friendly and accomodating! Great location! Less than 10 minutes to the beach! Loved it all!
We stayed here for three nights right before Jan. 1, 2018. One night was free thanks to BW rewards points that don't expire. The place was pretty full each night and a little bit noisy on New Years Eve. Otherwise, we had a good time.
Before writing this review I had to double check if this was the same hotel I stayed with my family in August. It´s also hard to believe this is a excellence certified hotel. In fact, it´s a very old hotel, the reception was a mess and the hotel areas and rooms were smelly. The breakfast was awful and there were plenty of sign advertising the guests of the itens prices if they decide to steal them from the hotel. It´s definitely not a cozy place to stay with your relatives.
Room was dirty and musty. Don't know last time they were cleaned. Checked in checked out. Worst best western ever in Staff at front desk just go through the motions with not a genuine concern Just plane yuk
Chris Sears runs a very welcoming accommodating hotel with prompt, courteous and professional service from all staff I encountered. I highly recommend this Best Western location for those visiting the Bradenton area.
Amazing staff, excellent hotel, great breakfast, and would highly recommend it. Chris and Carla are outstanding employees and always very helpful. Rooms are always clean, no issues with anything in room, great and friendly people.
This hotel and staff are very good and consistent. The only thing I would prefer would be a firmer bed. The breakfast is sufficient. The check in and out personnel are always polite and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying the Bradenton area. It is convenient and there are many restaurants and stores close by.
Excellent location , good service, lovely atmosphere. The rooms were nicely furnished and well equipped with essential items. the amenities worked well and provided exactly the services that were needed. The breakfast was very good and had a good variety of choices for every type of diet. The bed was comfortable to sleep in and the tub and shower were well equipped. the pool looked nice but it was too cool to go in.
My husband had to be hospitalized emergently and we were over two hours from home. The staff at this hotel were very accommodating and helpful to me during this difficult time. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.
Our check in went well, the room was OK and the breakfast was very good. We did not get maid service the first morning and when I checked out the desk person said she saw a note about it but did nothing to satisfy me regarding compensation. She said I could have been nicer. I guess I could have been had I worked for the hotel but I was the customer
Spent a couple of nights at this hotel while visiting friends. The hotel is generally clean and the rooms were quiet and comfortable. Property seems well managed overall and seemed safe and secure. Breakfast was good but just average and typical. Location is good, but exiting the hotel is somewhat inconvenient due to street layout (must make a U-turn to go toward the beaches). Only complaint is that the hotel seemed a bit overpriced when compared to similar properties.
The hotel was very clean. I would say average accommodations. However the staff was amazing. Everything we asked for was provided. The manager even offered to get me a steamer from his house. I was so impressed. They new I was getting married and they did not hesitate to take the stress out of the little things for me. Last note the dog policy should be changed the dog barked all night long! I feel they need their own floor or hall.
The hotel was very clean, had vinyl floors which we appreciated because we had our dogs with us. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous I highly recommend staying at this hotel again. We especially liked the complimentary breakfast which was always hot and plentiful.
I have stayed at the Bradenton Gateway on three occasions and have been very pleased. I rate them excellent. Chris, who was our manager was very helpful, we love the breakfast and found the hotel very clean and the staff all courteous and helpful.
The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. The staff were amazing and checked with me and my family several times during our stay to ensure we were comfortable. The breakfast had a great selection, and was clean. The front desk were friendly and helpful.
This hotel was very comfortable, clean, the beds and showers were excellent. The rooms were very tastefully decorated and the lobby was great. Breakfast was such a bonus for the price of staying in this hotel, I could have stayed several days.
This place is very nice. Would stay hear again. Staff at the front desk was great. Room was very nice and clean. Asked for a bath bench and it was in the room. This was the first time it was in the room. Everywhere else when I ask for a bath bench I always have to ask twice. They never put it in the room but this hotel did.
The staff at this hotel is exceptional..made our stay a very pleasant one..we are so happy we took the decision to stay at this hotel. Mr. Sears and his staff are the very best of all. Thank you guys..will highly recommend..definetely coming back!
Very clean hotel, awesome location. There are restaurants within walking distance. The staff was great. Chris Sears is an awesome manager. Pays attention to detail. Awesome breakfast! Will stay again!
After a long day travelling, I found this hotel delightful. It was suggested by a co-worker. The professional staff greeted me warmly. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. A generous complimentary breakfast was a nice surprise. I would recommend this hidden gem to everyone.
Everything we stay here our room our clean and the staff is friendly and professional. Manager Chris goes above and beyond to make sure everything we asked for was what we wanted and done. The breakfast area is wonderful and clean. Place to stay it should be on your list. Also, Just wanted to say the beach is just right down the street. Anna Maria Island, beautiful.... Chuck and Robin
I stayed here for a vacation last month. The front desk staff and management are all very pleasant and attentive. My room was a decent size and the beds were comfortable. I enjoyed my stay and never had any issues with my room. The breakfast was hot and well-kept. I would recommend this hotel in the future, and plan to stay again.
We had a trip booked to go to our house In Bradenton Unfortunately It was at the same time as Hurricane Irma My whole neighborhood was out of power and I remembered that while we are looking for the house we stayed at the Best Western on Cortez there we stayed for months and Chris and whole staff are awesome at the last moment thing I picked up the phone and called Chris at the hotel he advised me that they were all sold out but that he would give up the room that he had to run the hotel 24 hours on end for us the staff and everybody really pitched in during this hurricane and we stayed for about a week until our power was up I can't thank Chris and the rest of the staff they were great and they always have been they work really hard to satisfy their customers go check out Anna Maria Island Fun Time and stay here!!!!!
First time in 47 years checked in and checked out. First room was filthy with fridge leaking water and windows covered in dirt Second room stunk when door was opened. Staff on duty couldn't care less. Been in welfare hotels that were in better shape Will be speaking with corporate in the morning AVOID At All Costs
Set off the main road, it looked good. Sadly the rest was disappointing. The room had 2 queen beds; one was fine, the other was terrible- it sagged BIGTIME and squeaked whenever you turned. The bathroom was not spacious and the counter space was limited due to the placement of ice bucket, coffee maker and supplies. BW- you would have been far better to have these items outside in the room!! The morning breakfast also was disappointing. Orange juice must have been in short supply because the first day you could tell it had been "watered down"... it was fine the second day! Yogurt selection all high in sugar... no "lite" option... toaster worked sporadically. Disappointing!!! Then, when presented with my bill, my $20 coupon had not been applied and I think they were trying to "get away" without me noticing.
Debbie was(is) the greatest. She took care of the smallest details and graciously went out of her way to find out other information that was extreamly helpful for us on our business trip from Santa Barbara.
We usually stay with family in the area but we had a large group and found this little gem for extra room. This staff knows the meaning of hospitality!! The manager Chris is right out front most of the time overlooking everything and making sure you feel welcome and are comfortable. The staff at the front desk, the cleaning crew and even the maintenance crew are friendly and say hello. Rooms are large, clean and comfy!!!! Our little dog was welcome too which is a great convenience. Breakfast provided in the morning with your stay is plentiful with a great selection for everyone. The biscuits and gravy were awesome!!! Great location near restaurants and shops and just a little drive to the beach. We will book here again for sure!
Hotel is clean, well managed with exceptional staff to handle any of your needs. Rooms are beautiful, beds are comfortable and grounds are well maintained. Fabulous breakfast menu for anyone's taste! Easy check-in and easy check-out. Would recommend this place to everyone who is visiting this area without hesitation!
We stayed at this lovely hotel during Hurricane Irma and believe it or not, the experience was a pleasure. Staff, the clean environment of the property and the breakfast was wonderful! The rooms were nice and the hurricane grade windows gave us the luxury of not hearing a sound. We brought our animals and the hotel staff was so patient with all of these furry friends in their hotel. Thank you GM Chris and Lonnie & your family! We love you!
Pet friendly, great breakfast, close to everything and great service. Hardwood floors in the pet rooms and overall a nice clean place that is well staffed with friendly people. We would stay there again and will tell everyone about the pleasant experience.
If you're looking for a reasonably priced, clean hotel in the center of Bradenton, I would recommend the Best Western. The hotel staff was very friendly, professional, and accommodating. While the hotel itself could use to be updated and looks to be outdated, it is clean. The bed was very comfortable, sheets and towels were clean. I did not take advantage of the complementary breakfast so I cannot speak to this. It was centrally located to restaurants, beach, shopping, etc. I will likely stay again when I return to the area in mid-September.
Very nice, quiet, clean, and friendly helpful staff. Will definitely stay again when in the area and highly recommend this Best Western Plus. Breakfast was fresh, hot and a very good selection. Easy check in and check out. Good parking area. Close to everything one would need. Pool area clean and nicely kept.
Very affordable.Safe parking lot.Pool was lots of fun and staff were extremely professional. Many local food opportunities.Just behind the Cracker Barrel so it is easy to find.Rooms were very clean and hallways were well vacuumed.
I was very happy with my stay. The hotel, my room, the pool and fitness area were clean. The breakfast was good, and although I didn't require any help from the staff, they were there to greet me and available if I did need them. I was very pleased and will stay here again.
We were in room 116. Very comfortable. Quiet. Only steps from the exercise room, the pool and vending machines, and the front desk. The staff was very professional, but relaxed... friendly. The breakfasts were perfect. Typically eggs, waffles, a meat such as ham or sausage, yogurts, pastries, cereals, etc. Plenty to eat and tasty. Of course, juice and coffee! We would stay there again!
There was no selection of cereals and yogurt was harm at breakfast. I could tell the bed sheets were not clean/fresh there was someone else hair on the sheets. shower curtain had stains all over it and the hotel smelled like smoke.
The room was nicely furnished and a good size for a family of 4. Beds and pillows comfortable. No shower gel provided. Breakfast room was a little cramped and we had to squash onto a table more suitable for 2 people but the food was fine. On a tour of Florida involving several different hotels - at last, one with a working washing machine and tumble drier! Seemed like a good location if you're getting around by car. Strangely, the stairwell was tucked away like a fire escape meaning you feel obliged to use the elevator all the time. I prefer the option to take the stairs without feeling that I've trespassed outside the public areas. I would stay here again - it had everything we needed.
Hotel is clean. Service at the front desk at check in was excellent. Also was a great value for the stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to others traveling to Bradenton. It is also convenient to restaurants and not far from the beach.
Chris Sears is the best General Manager of a hotel that I have ever met. He always makes sure that his guests are comfortable. Any problems are dealt with immediately. His breakfast items are incredible (he has tried many different options). I also like being able to have coffee when we get in at night. The hotel's décor is great and he is always open to suggestions from his patrons.
This hotel was recommended to me by a local business owner. It was a little pricier than some other local hotels I checked out but I decided safety was more important and she assured me it was safe. The lobby area and the rooms are very nice, as though some money was put into recent renovations. However the same money should be put into the elevator which looks a little sketchy. I also found someone's old Healthy Choice frozen meal in the refrigerator, which is gross. The bed was a little lumpy but not terribly uncomfortable. Very nice staff. Overall, a good stay.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights recently. Very nice, quiet hotel. Clean, friendly staff. The free breakfast was very good! Internet was fast as well. Close to many restaurants and shops if you need them. 15 minutes to Ana Maria Island which was where we were visiting, We will come back here on our next trip!
We have stayed here several times this past month on short business trips. The room has been very comfortable, the breakfast is nothing fancy but edible. The hotel has several restaurants nearby and has plenty of parking. The hotel offers free wifi which actually works very well.
Very quite that lead to a good nights sleep. The lobby decor is very odd and not at all pleasing, nothing a decorator couldn't fix. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. The shower needed additional water pressure. The water just tricked from the shower. These are all things that can be fixed. Keep up the good work on your great customer service.
Very nice hotel and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was surprisingly great for a free breakfast. Our room seemed to be recently remodeled and it was beautiful. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
We took 7 teens to a conference in Bradenton and this was our hotel. Very quiet, comfortable and clean. Friendly staff made sure that we had all we needed for our stay. Easy access to the main road. Will be looking to stay here again in the future.
My wife and I usually stay here for our annual summer trip to Bradenton/Sarasota. Located convenient to all attractions in the area with lots of restaurant choices within close proximity. Wonderful hot breakfast buffet, room amenities excellent and clean. Very good mattress and pillows. Staff is accommodating and appear engaged in their work. Best value in the area for upgraded motel.
My family and I stayed 5nights & it was great. The stag was very friendly, The rooms were very clean. The only problem we had was the fridge wasn't working, but they fixed 1st thing in the morning. We will stay here again next year.
We had an event at IMG Academy just a couple miles away so this was very convenient. Very clean room, great complementary breakfast and friendly staff both at check in and for our departure. Cracker Barrel restaurant is next door, a big plus!
Awesome. ALWAYS. Great location, returned, beach, shopping. Quiet and secure...this is pet friendly, not seeing any this trip. Stayed here also New Year's Eve for three days. Great place to go to. We only live an hour away, but stay here for family reasons.
I read many of the reviews which were excellent and I agree with everything, Check out my photos. Great location my room actually has a jacuzzi in it in there only 2 rooms that have one. They call it a sweet but it's actually a room with a jacuzzi. The room is decorated very nicely the lighting is good it has a refrigerator and a microwave closet space and some shelves to store your clothes. The outside is nice as well as the lobby the bathroom off the lobby is clean and neat and everything works. I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at this amazing hotel this past weekend during a soccer tournament in Sarasota, Florida. We were pleasantly surprised with how clean, quiet, and up-to-date the room was, the conveniences of the washer.dryer, delicious breakfast, and the fresh coffee, tea, and water that were available in the lobby during the day. The hotel has a great staff headed by Chris Sears, and very convenient location. This hotel has a great value for everything that it offers!
Our stay at the hotel was very good. The hotel was tucked behind the Crackel Barrel and it was quiet. The staff was very nice and pleasant to do business with. The breakfast was very good, and the staff kept it stocked with great choices.
My travel partner and I are RNS at a local hospital. We work the night shift, so we needed a place that could accommodate our weird sleep schedule. Carla (Asst. Manager?) Told us it would be no problem. We prebook the week before and have been greeted enthusiastically every week when we get here after shift. The breakfast is amazing (we've told everyone about the Fiesta omlet!) And it's quiet during the day while we sleep. The rooms are clean, water pressure is amazing, and it's in a great area. We checked out and rejected two other hotels before choosing this one, and we have never once regretted this decision! (Kris, after hearing us rave about the siesta omlet, made us one special on a bad morning! Made our entire day!)
I'm a registered nurse on travel assignment near this hotel. I recently went shopping for a hotel in the area. As a night shifter I needed a place that would allow me to check in around 8 am and check out around 5 pm without charging me for the extra night. My first experience was with Carla at the desk who assured me the strange hours would be no problem and everything would be taken care of, the showed us the menu book where we could order food nearby. There's laundry on site for when I work prolong stretches of shifts and need to wash my scrubs. The breakfast is amazing! This morning when I arrived back from a less than ideal shift Karl recognized me and my travel partner and, knowing how much we love the omelets they serve, went and made us two special even though they weren't on the menu for the day. The rooms are always nice and clean. The location is great and the staff is always amazingly friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone! Also a pet friendly hotel if you have your fur babies along for the trip. Bonus points for being located directly behind the Cracker Barrel as well.
I was pleased with everything about this hotel. The room was Clean and TV, bathroom, lighting modern fixtures .. hot breakfast and awesome internet service .. staff was great ..great location for food spots in town thanks
Great value for your money! Low fare but you get a very decent breakfast and a hotel that is just as good as any other way more expensive ones. A short ride to Anna Maria island makes this a hotel I would love to come back to.
We've been staying for a few days each at virtually every hotel and motel in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. Almost all have been a disappointment. But this place was totally different. Manager Chris Sears has put his heart and expertise into every inch of this place. Not only has he designed every inch for efficiency and hospitality, he has also added nice little touches in the breakfast area, lobby, rooms and exterior that make patrons feel right at home. The breakfast is great and has many choices not seen at all places. He and his staff are friendly and understand service. Every inch of the place is beautifully decorated and well maintained. If you've got to be in this area, this is the place to stay.
We spent the night at another hotel in the area that was absolutely disgusting and called the booking company to transfer us to another place asap! As soon as we arrived here we were relieved and so much happier! It took a minute to find it since it's tucked behind the Cracker Barrel restaurant but the location is very convenient to everything in the area you'd want to visit and it was a short 10 minutes from my dads house. The woman at the front desk was so friendly and hospitable and we felt welcome right away. The lobby was clean and there was coffee, water and juice available in the breakfast area 24/7 which was a nice bonus. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable, along with a nice tv, desk, and chairs. The bathroom was sparkling clean with a walk in shower that actually had great water pressure. The ice and vending machines were right behind the check in counter and next to the gym and the pool was clean and had several tables and chairs. There was even a handicap lift for the pool which I thought was wonderful since I have MS and can appreciate when a place goes above and beyond to be welcoming to everyone. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and I'd definitely return if in the area again. We highly recommend this one compared to the many others in the area!
My husband and I have traveled a lot over the course of our marriage and this particular hotel was the best yet! We reserved the jacuzzi room and it was in pristine condition upon arrival. The staff was absolutely incredible, to say the least. Full breakfast with a lot of variety included in the price rate with coffee, fruit, and juice available 24/7 The pool area is fantastic and the grounds are beautiful. We'll definitely be back. Thank you for making our anniversary getaway so wonderful!
This hotel is reasonably priced, clean, comfortable bed and a good shower located just 15 minutes from Lecom Park and Pirates spring training games. Located just off Interstate 75, it is only 30 minutes to Sarasota or St. Petersburg areas.
March 2017, I was looking for a QUIET hotel as I had planned on having cancer treatments in Sarasota and wanted a good, comfortable place to recover. Found it at the BW Plus Manatee Bradenton. This hotel is off the main road by being located in back of the Cracker Barrel Restaurant. This is a great restaurant too that offers almost anything you would want, except it was a little "heavy" for me (I'm a vegetarian). Burger King, Marcos Pizza, Tijuana Flats, and a 7-11 convenience store are all next to this hotel on the same side of the street. There is also a Waffle House and another Mexican Restaurant across the street, so I never went hungry! Of course, the BW offers a good selection of hot and cold breakfast. The bonus for me were some of the nicest people I've met while being in Bradenton. On our check in, Debbie is the friendliest and helpful person you'll come across. During the end of my stay, I ran into medical problems and Debbie helped with information to the ER facility about 3 miles away. Surprisingly, also met one of the most competent nurse at the Blake Medical Center who immediately tended to my emergency and pleasant doctor who looked into my issues and stayed to chat. So much so that we ended up exchanging contact info. How often does that happen in a big city? The rooms were usual quality of Best Westerns and for a 11 day stay, I really appreciated the convenience of a washer/dryer room. Hopefully, my next visit to Bradenton will be for a fun vacation and I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed for a night, and was pleased with the hotel. A lot of places to eat in the neighborhood, and the hotel is located quite close to the beaches at Longboat Key and Anna Maria. Hot breakfast, quite basic, but ok. Good size room, a bit dated, but clean.
The hotel was visually appealing and the free breakfast was decent. When we entered the room it smelled musty, damp, and a bit moldy. It appeared to be clean and we were only staying for one night so we did not complain. Hopefully this is an unusual occurrence.
Usually have no problems with BW hotels but the beds in this room were soft and used, bathroom shower had little pressure and fixtures coming off/loose. Breakfest was average as was apple water instead of juice (had to go to 7eleven next door for real juice) and toasters out of date (after 5 min english muffin still white). The hotel sits in the back of a parking lot behind a Cracker Barrel Restaurant and had a view of delivery trucks in the morning!!). Just disappointing.
Not fancy but clean. Walls where a little thin, could hear voices next door. Staff was friendly, hot breakfast & coffee were very good. Reasonable rate, definitely a good value. Decor is a little dark and dated. Bed was comfortable. Lots of nearby restaurants and location was very convenient for us. Parking is Close by and neighborhood seems safe. We will stay here again.
Just stayed for one night. Very friendly welcome from Debbie who recommended somewhere to eat for dinner Clean room - I was a bit worried about animal smells but no need A decent breakfast with plenty of hot and cold choice I would recommend this hotel
The room was very spacious and very clean. Housekeeping did a great job. The breakfast was lackluster and tasted like it had been out way too long. Aside from that, I would go there again, however, I would eat breakfast somewhere else
Very good value hotel only about ten minutes to Anna Maria Island. In room fridge and microwave helps to make a longer stay more comfortable so you do not have to keep going out to restaurants to eat. Also the fact that coffee is on 24/7 in the lobby makes it easier to have a drink on the go. Stayed previously and will stay again.
For years we bypassed Best Western motels and elected to stay in other major national chains known for clean rooms and comfortable beds and great service. Previously the out of state Best Western motels we tried were not clean. Unfortunately, because of severe allergies windows are not often opened in my home and we rely on a/c. Recently a new central a/c unit was being installed however it was a 2-day job leaving the house without a/c for one evening. A portable a/c was left for my bedroom but it malfunctioned and was throwing out very warm air. When the temperature in my bedroom exceeded 88 I decided to leave and find a room for the night. That night it was very dark, raining hard and after 8 PM. The first place I stopped not far from my home had no vacancy. Not wanting to drive all over I decided to give this Best Western a chance as it too was not far from home. What a nice surprise -- this Best Western was clean; the bed was comfortable; the price was reasonable; the parking lot well lit; the man in charge of the breakfast area kept the pots of coffee fresh, hot, and full; and, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Based on this one night's experience I would recommend this site.
My sister and I stayed here during a visit to Bradenton while a relative was ill. The staff were exceptional. Our first night the toilet was spraying water all over the bathroom and the night desk attendant came immediately to fix the problem and to engage the maintenance man to repair it promptly. The cleaning staff were pleasant and did a great job keeping our room tidy and clean. The hot breakfast was very good; there was a nice variety of food choices and the seating space was adequate (sometimes the complimentary breakfasts have limited seating but this one had plenty of room for guests without crowding) We will be returning to Bradenton again soon and will definitely stay here!!
Right behind Cracker Barrel and across the street from a NEW "Waffle House" which is my favorite place to have breakfast/lunch and put a smile on my face to see that new WH so close. The only downside here is "free breakfast" is as basic and un-creative as it gets BUT it is free, so...rest of hotel experience was excellent and very clean, comfortable, quiet, and nicely kept grounds -- VERY polite staff who are patient beyond imagination. Turn at Cracker Barrel sign or you will miss the entrance and have to drive a major block to get back to the entrance. ~Author Deborah Dolen I am a local and my home near Anna Maria Island flooded so I had to have a fairly long term local hotel stay. It is not fun to secure a hotel for more than a few nights-not even being a vacation...in a resort city. So per day does matter. After on-line sticker shock (even all the web comparison deal sites - was $145 a night, I was able to CALL and talk to a REAL person [Carla] and get a good rate of $100 a night. We are NOT IN SEASON and that will drastically change the dynamics soon. But CALLING can be far better than what the hotel comparison sites claim. I am staying in lowest demand weeks of entire year. So front staff DOES have the power to make decisions which helps the bottom line for owners. Debbie, Manager and Carla were wonderful as well as Jeremy Maintenance. I should not say "were" as I am still here. They do allow service dogs and that was nice to see. I love dogs anyways. Dogs are low profile and designated rooms. I did get a room with a Jacuzzi in it-$20 extra and this CEMENTED why I even called. Only a few rooms have one and extra fee is modest. The Jacuzzi was heaven and I am still here as I write this. The property is very clean, beds VERY comfortable and even pillows comfortable. Linens very clean and house keeping quiet and low key. Curtains can be set for really dark and outside noise is almost non-existent in room. AC works wonderfully and NICE sized mini fridge as well as microwave. Water pressure excellent. Property grounds are set in nature even though it is right off a main road--I even heard birds this morning, which was nice. Property is very well maintained. Maintenance Jeremy deep cleaned hot tub within a few minutes of me asking. One Manager Debbie was a very good at being a manager and was able to handle my sentiments about the first night which were not good...a couple was having a heated argument in room next to me (all night long) I was not used to that, and it was not a normal set of guests. This is one of the few hotels that accept cash and so that can attract people low of resources and manners. This may change as season arrives. I am glad I remained because it has been quiet ever since. I met some very nice tourist also--Michigan and UK. Main time they are out is nine in the morning. Any earlier than that..is typically people here to work in town that also stay.
Rooms were very clean, breakfast was nice (eggs, sausage, cereal, waffles, baked goods). Quiet and not super busy and right behind a cracker barrel! I stayed for only a couple days but with a fridge and microwave in room could stay longer :)
So we came here for a weekend for soccer. I really was not expecting much from this hotel but when we arrived the service was incredible. The checkin was seamless and the rooms were impeccable and renovated. Clean, and modern. Would highly recommend this hotel again, very close to restaurants and easy to get to the freeways and major roadways.
I loved this hotel so much and all the people who work there. I was homeless with my 3 cats from nj and found a place on the next block from the hotel but stayed at the hotel for over a week. Chris is an awsome manager too. Anything i needed i had. It was clean and the pool was perfect!!! GREAT EXPERIENCE. Also washer and drier in hotel made my life much easier. ??
Found the property on Trivago and got the room through Booking.com for a very reasonable price. We were only in town one night for a wedding on Anna Maria Island. The hotel was very nice, exceptionally clean, quiet and fairly easy to find. The room was very clean and welcoming. Air was set to comfortable temperature so we did not have to wait for room to cool down. We had a microwave and nice size refrigerator in the room. Bed was very comfy. The breakfast was great. Buffet was well stocked, kept very clean and had a nice selection including hot and cold items. Staff were all very friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the Bradenton area. I will stay there again when I am in the area.
The Manager Chris Sears and his desk staff, including concierges Jeremy and Allen, were very attentive and caring individuals. I have never encountered this level of kindness and compassion embodied by an entire hotel staff. Mr. Sears and Jeremy made themselves available at all times to my daughter and I during a difficult situation, without ever having to ask. They even made sure while my daughter convalesced for three weeks here our room was extra sanitized with ozone air purification and forensic light technology. The complimentary breakfast was convenient and delicious and the pool area was bright, clean and perfect for relaxing. I am very familiar with this area and would absolutely recommend this hotel over any other hotel on Cortez Road or within a 10 mile radius! Thank you so very much Chris and Jeremy for your professionalism, customer service and kindness. These skills are natural to you both and is what separates you from the competition.
wonderful staff and great hotelf. stayed here after a terrible experience at another hotel. this place was great. room was amazing with a great kitchen. stayed in one of the suites and had an amazing stay.
This property is very clean and nice. Hotel is updated with flat screen tv, wifi and some rooms even have full kitchens and jacuzzis. The hotel has a nice pool and offers a great free breakfast every morning. Staff is very friendly and helpful.. Overall one of the best hotels in Bradenton.
This is a revision of a previous review. I stayed there with my wife for our 2nd anniversary. When we arrived, the staff had put roses in the room at no charge, I guess since I had said we were there for our anniversary. The room was quite clean and for the most part quiet, except one barking dog. The manager said it was a service dog, and it only barked a couple of times. He apologized and that was fine. There was a full breakfast with coffee, Danish, waffles, etc. We slept in and missed it. We did try the coffee which was weak, but The manager said that he would be happy to remake the coffee if we asked. Very accommodating manager and wonderful location.
Great place in West Bradenton, clean, friendly staff, breakfast could be better, and coffe could be better, ample rooms with great bath-tub shower, water pressure is good. Location for me is very important
We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. The hotel manager was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The two rooms we stayed in were neat and clean. The breakfast was very good with a lot of variety.
A very nice-clean hotel, with free hot breakfast and excellent service. Located close to to shops, restaurants and entertainment. The folks at the front desk were very friendly and seem to have the answer to your questions, regarding where to eat, shop and area beaches. Located less than 30 minutes from Sarasota and no too far from Anna Maria Island. We stayed for one night, but we definitively would have love to stay longer, they sure make you feel welcome, we'll be back.
The hotel was great, clean and awesome breakfast selections. But since we used our towels when we went swimming, we had to ask for extra dry towels and they said that they ran out. Same with blankets. Other suggestion will be to add at least 1 or 2 more waffle makers so that there is no waiting line. Otherwise, it was a good stay!
I received very good service at this hotel, the rooms were newly renovated and extremely clean. The staff was very grind ly and the manager iChris is very accommodating I would recommend this hotel to anyone
Great location, good price/value, excellent front desk staff, nice little pool. Cortez is a fun little old fashioned fishing village about 10 minutes away. Very close to Long boat Key, lots of good dining tiki bars etc.
The quality of this hotel actually surprised me! The room was spacious enough for the two of us. Staff was friendly. It was clean and comfortable and very nice. It is right behind a Cracker Barrel so food options were easy. The complementary breakfast was a little sub-par but not bad. Over all, a very good experience.
This is an upgraded Best Western and is a good value located conveniently to all Bradenton and Sarasota has to offer to vacationers/travelers. Nice lobby and room is large. Attractive and large bathroom and shower. Comfortable bed and pillows. Hot breakfast bar including waffle maker and 24 hour coffee and water service in lobby. Older plasma flat screen TV which is only 32" or less.
We also were awoken by multiple barking dogs at 6:45 directly across from our rooms. I went to the front desk @7:45( now to get coffee) and asked if they could hear the barking ( we were right off the lobby) going on. He said yes he could, but it was a pet friendly hotel so there was nothing he could do. He also said he thought they belonged to the group of young adults having breakfast in the lobby, so they may be leaving soon. It was now 8AM. The group was part of a frisbee competition. When we check in the day before we originally were assigned the room directly next to the one with the dogs. When we arrived at the room, that room had not been completely cleaned and the TV unit disconnected and pulled away from the wall. The young women @ front desk came in, shook her head, took our key and went across the hall opened the door, gave us a key, off she went. Room was clean, bed comfortable, that's it...
the title says it all, Walked in on other hotel guests and when I went to front desk there were no apologies given just took my keys and gave me another room. A little noisy you can hear everything outside your room in the hallways.
Stayed two nights at this hotel, it was very pleasant. Excellent quality for price, approx., $100.00, 2 queen beds. Facility was pretty, very clean. First floor had hard wood floors in the rooms. I would of given the review a 5 but the beds weren't as comfortable as I would of liked. We probably could have changed rooms but it wasn't that bad. Staff friendly and helpful.
1. Stated it is a pet-free hotel, but dog barking woke me up at 7am. Service animals are helpful, docile and quiet. This was a pet, not a service animal. 2. Gym has a stationary bike, 3 other aerobics, no weights, no resistance at all. Tiniest gym on earth. Utterly useless. 3. Pool also incredibly tiny, barely enough room to turn around. Uncomfortable and zero atmosphere, privacy. Waste of space
The hotel has been renovated recently, and the front desk is very attentive of guest needs and inquires. IE: I asked for good restaurants that they would eat at and local activities. When and enjoyed a great dinner and a walk. I am a rewards member with best western and stayed in them 180 days last year. this is a god location don't hesitate to stay.
Stayed here as part of our vacation on 6/9/16. Front person was very friendly and personable. Room was clean and a good size. A/C in the room didn't work so good. Had to set it on 64 just to get the room cooled off. Breakfast in the morning was just ok nothing special. Location of the hotel is right behind the Cracker Barrel.
This is a comfortable hotel with a friendly staff. They have some rooms with a Jacuzzi tub, but it's in the main part of the room and makes the room feel cramped. TV choices are below average. The hotel is actually behind a Cracker Barrel Restaurant, and not easily seen from the roadway. The front desk staff were friendly and accomadating.
This is now the second time we've stayed at the Best Western behind Cracker Barrel, and I have to say, this business is incredibly consistently clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. We stayed in one of the hot tub suites and absolutely loved it... again! I would recommend this hotel over and over again. Shalom, Big D
Good and accessible location to the beaches and restaurants. Good breakfast, clean rooms with comfortable beds and spacious bathroom. We will stay again and would be highly recommended to friends and family.
We had a one night stay in the hotel and it was nice. I didn't eat at the breakfast we mainly just used it as a place to crash. We had a king suite and it was relaxing. We would Defiantly stay again. Next time though I will have to try the breakfast out.
Given room on 3rd floor which was being upgraded and full of workmen when i got there . Had to return to lobby to be allocated another room . Hotel should be ok after refit . Swimming pool not very private overlooking large carpark at rear of local restaurants
Samantha was wonderful during check in, polite and informative. A great begging to a great trip! Cracker Barrel right in front of the hotel. Nice pool and work out area. Will definitely be staying here again.
comfortable and convenient, upgraded rooms, very clean, only thing was sweating all night from air conditioning we were too tired to complain, but this place is close to beach and restaurant walking distance!!! will stay again, staff and guests friendly
This is a nice basic hotel. We were there for a wedding, during spring break, and our options were limited. Luckily, this turned out great. The room are clean and the pillows are nice. The complimentary breakfast is your usual stuff but was well stocked. The owner was super nice and found our group rooms close together. Would recommend this hotel to those who want a comfortable stay and don't want to spend a fortune!
I had an issue with booking - thought I had and there was an error on my part...Called to let them know we'd be arriving ;ate and was told no rooms left. While on the phone with the new hotel I had an incoming call. It was Carla. She let me know there was, in fact, a room available at the Best Western. Wonderful. It truly could have stopped there if a positive impression was all she was trying to accomplish. It did not. We got to the hotel late and when we arrived to our room we discovered a sweet note and plate of fruit-- from Carla!
Great hotel, nice room - stayed with 2 kids and 2 adults. Basic breakfast but enough to make everyone happy. Very comfortable beds! We would stay here again - a bit more money than I wanted to pay but you get what you pay for and we were pleased.
Sadly we were visiting because a family member was very ill and we were here to support . We were planning on stayed for two days, and we ended up staying for 5 days. Chris the manager was very accommodating and was able to give us a larger room with a nice size kitchen. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was available every morning, we didn't get to use the facilities, there is a gym and swimming pool. If you need a hotel in the area it is very convenient to the stores and restaurants . Thank you for making our difficult stay a lot easier.
We picked the BW Manatee because of its reputation and plus we got a good price for the Bradenton area. Pleasant stay in comfortable room and an Ok breakfast included. Staff friendly and helpful. Easy walking distance to Cracker Barrel and Tijuana Flats. 10 minute drive to Bradenton river walk.
The hotel is conveniently located and close to all the attractions, beaches and local venues. It offers the best overall stay experience off beach. It gives you a local feel and the staff makes you feel at home. The rooms are newly decorated and appointed however the beds are for the soft of heart.
Very good hotel for Pirates spring training. Close to McKechnie field and Pirates City. Value is good, good breakfast. Has a small but well maintained pool. In center of Bradenton, close to all shopping, restaurants and beaches. Don't park in back, as the irrigation system for the landscaping sprays recycled water, that smells terrible. It took multiple cleanings to get the smell out of our car.
I can't say enough about the staff at this place. They are phenomenal and would go out of their way to make your stay a great one. The lobby and rooms are very clean, except some of the rooms have a funny odor - not a deal breaker, and I am very fussy about that. The hallways, especially the 2nd floor, are shabby and a little odd smelling, and that would be my only complaint. This place is great for families, pets, kids - anyone. They have a nice outdoor pool, and pretty places to sit out front. It is close to everything in Bradenton, and I can't tell you how many times staff has helped me hook up with activities and rentals in the area for kayaking, cycling, fishing, beach combing (Casperson Beach for fossils and shark teeth!), etc., We have never had a bad time at this hotel and recommend it to anyone who isn't looking for a four star experience in terms of decor. Staff gives you 4 star service, though! :)
I never rate on trip advisor, but our experience was so good at this place I'm doing it. First floor rooms were hardwood...no worry about bugs. Service was excellent. Place kept clean. Real friendly people.
Excellent. The staff was excellent and very helpful. The breakfast was a treat. Internet connection was impeccable. The rooms were very clean and neat. The staff was avai;ab;e to help with your needs.
Average at best, for a few more dollars probably could have done better. The full breakfast was not what I expected. Pool and area surrounding was not maintained along with the table area in front of hotel.
Satisfied with staff, building décor could stand an update as the Lobby gives a somewhat seedy appearance. However the room and amenities were clean good & comfortable. Location is convenient to the Ringling. The breakfast would rate a weak 5 on a scale of 10. There is a Cracker Barrel directly in the front of the hotel.
The hotel was overall very clean. We had the king suite with kitchen. The pool was super warm which is fantastic, but it's in front of the hotel where the sun doesn't shine. Wouldn't be a bad idea to put it where the sun will always shine on it. The only complaint I had was we arrived an hour early and I asked the lady if they did early check in. I've checked in early at a lot of hotels with no issues or anything. She told me they did do early check in and just took care of everything. When we checked out, I got charged $10 for checking in an hour early and she didn't tell me about it. At least say something! It's only $10 but come on? We were happy with the stay in the end.
This hotel is hidden from the main road with poor signage (Its a good advertisement for GPS). It provides little of note, rooms are adequate, breakfast is non-descript and unenviting, location is not to exciting. Basically a place to overnight between other locations - the bed is comfortable, the room clean, there is little noise from the outside (however, late at night, one can pick up the sound ot a TV somewhere.) It is pricey foir what you get, otherwise its OK.
We stayed at this motel for 10 days and had a great time. Motel was clean and located in a good area of Bradenton with many restaurants near by. Breakfast was great so we never went out for breakfast. Enjoyed our stay very much.
My son was at a baseball camp in Bradenton in August and I stayed here, it was a 15 min. drive from his camp. The staff was great. My room was clean and quiet. There was a pool and it looked clean but I did not use it because I discovered Siesta Keys Beach (40 min drive). There is a cracker barrel right in front of the hotel and I did take out there and heated up left overs in my room the next day. Breakfast was better than average and the attendant was helpful. I had an hour after checkout before I could pick up my son and they were generous and set up a spot for me in the breakfast area to wait and charge and us my electronics. Super nice staff!
We stayed at the hotel for a wedding in Bradenton. The wedding was in Long Boat Key and the location of the hotel to that is excellent. In addition, the hotel is located very close to The Ringling Museum, and fairly easy access to major travel routes. The room was clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly. The property is in great shape. There is a Cracker Barrel located directly in front of it (you can walk across the parking lot to it). As well, there are many chain restaurants very close to the property, grocery stores, and other shopping. I used the onsite laundry (one washer, one dryer) and it is easily accessed and kept clean and tidy. The morning breakfast was good; my only complaint would be that it was the same every day...at least changing on the weekend would be an improvement. But, the breakfast attendant kept the area clean and well stocked each morning. Unfortunately for him, people ignored the hours of breakfast and almost everyday he had to stay late. He was never anything but friendly, though. The same goes for the two front desk clerks with whom I interacted. They were helpful, friendly, efficient and always available when I needed them. Again, the proximity to Bradenton/Sarasota beaches and attractions makes it a great location, too. I would heartily recommend this hotel.
I find Best Western to be one of the best hotels for comfort, convenience, amenities, great breakfasts and accommodating staff. My friend and I often visit the B. W. Manatee Plus in Bradenton just to get away from the norm. The General Manager, Chris Sears is a sweetheart. He treats us like family, since we have been staying at this hotel a few times a year for the past 15 years. He also listens to my suggestions and takes them to heart. The only draw-back with this and other B. W. hotels is the price (season). You have to really watch diligently for a good deal to come along and jump on it. My friend has a B. W. credit card so he can build up points when using it. It comes in handy when you want to use them to book a night or two.
We stopped at this location. I've been here before and have never had a problem. I did have one problem however but is was not the fault of the hotel. We came during soccer tournament time and too many kids and too much early morning noise at breakfast. But we were there just to sleep as my son lives not to far away and is the reason we came and stayed. But overall all was good.
Breakfast food cold, especially the watery eggs, sausage anemic, pool dirty, worker at the front desk an excuse maker, giving me an excuse why there isn't hot coffee, just make a fresh pot! Problem solved!!
My family just stayed for a week at this hotel, I have stayed here before last summer. This time my mom left her bad in the room, she didn't realize it until we were back home. We call, the manager told us he had it, it is in his safe and he will mail it to us if we want. We will be back there at the end of the month and told him we will get it then. Very nice staff, clean, really a great place to stay.
Pleasant experience overall, room clean, bed extraordinarily comfortable, linens fresh. Second night guests in next room were loud well into the night....'clerk' handled situation immediately and courteously. Definitely would stay again.
Had to book this at the last minute due to a family emergency, and "Brittany" made the experience terrific. Also wanted to commend Jeremy and Vince, two others who were warm and welcoming, as well as great room (cleaning) service each of my 9 days. Enjoyed having the convenient "Cracker Barrel" restaurant right out front too. :)
the breakfast is great alot to choose from but the sausage links and sausage in the gravy not to good. no other problems with anything this is a non smoking place. staff was friendly it was nice and quiet place
reservations were messed up.I booked my two night stay at the hotel at I-75 and highway 64, somewhere the reservation department switched me to hotel seventeen miles away I was not a happy camper on Friday afternoon finding out I have to drive an additional 17 miles to a congested area.
Made reservations for a pet-friendly room on the ground floor but arrived to find there were no ground floor rooms available. It was a hassle getting our dog in and out of an elevator, as she's old and had never been in one before. Aside from that, the room was immaculate, the front desk staff friendly, AND there's a Cracker Barrel just in front of the property. Getting into the parking lot is a bit confusing, but the parking lot is well-lit. Comfy bed and bathroom is well-stocked with soaps and lotions. Being on Cortez Road (close to beaches) would explain why rooms here start at $99 a night. All in all, a good night's sleep. Basic continental breakfast is served until 10 am.
We made this reservation at the last minute, was very pleased with the accommodations. Very large room, huge bathroom. The refrigerator was larger than most, microwave and parking weren't extra. Free hot breakfast with good selection. Would go again.
Good value hotel in Bradenton on the main Cortez Road.. Breakfast is included although not much choice. The hotel is close to good restaurants and some decent shops if it is raining. This hotel is only about five miles from Anna Maria Island which is one of our favourite places to visit in this part of the Gulf.
Our room was nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic! The staff really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The location to the beach was great! We stayed during the fourth of July and were able to watch the fireworks from our room.
Rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will stay there again. The general manager was very nice and easy to talk to. He went the extra step to make sure I would get reward points and to make sure I was registered for promotions.
We stayed 5 nights while visiting our parents. The room is pretty standard, but it was quiet, clean, and well-appointed. It had all the items we needed (toiletries, hairdryer, microwave, frig, etc.) for a very reasonable price. Towels and bed linens were nice and the bed was comfortable. The staff was polite. We only had minor complaints. The breakfast was typical but the eggs were (or at least tasted and had the texture of) powdered eggs. The TV was frustrating because the guide was often wrong. I'll plan to stay there again when I'm in the Bradenton area.
This hotel was a great surprise. We had an evening there prior to our movers arriving and it was lovely. It is also pet friendly. We have two cats and there was no problem. Though it poured that night we had a chance to check out the pool earlier and wow, how very nice. The rooms looked very updated and were neat and clean. The staff was quite pleasant.
Holiday weekend .. Breakfast packed yet they actually had 2 people working and the food was above good and tables got cleaned and nothing ran out!! Very easy to chalk it up to Holiday traffic rather then increase Payroll and adjust to the Volume. Also the entire Building is non-smoking. Plus all rooms in order to be a PLUS are beautiful and redone with a seating area in every room.. We don't go anyway else now. Try it. Better yet don't so I wont run into booking a room!!! K.C. Fisher, Tampa fl.
this is the second time i stayed at this Hotel, love everything about it close to Ana Maria Island and the Hotel employees are super friendly ,Chris the mgr is great also i have to mention Housekeeping and the Front desk are very helpful i will come back
Nuestra estadía en el hotel fue muy placentera. El servicio fue muy agradable y profesional. El desayuno muy completo, y los cuartos muy cómodos. Gracias Best Western Our time in the hotel was very likeable. The service was great and very professional. It was great to start the morning with a complete breakfast; and the rooms were very comfortable. Thank you Best Western.
We arrived in the middle of a downpour and though the lightening and thunder was incredible the hotel was quiet and dry! Check in was fast and efficient and we were given recommendations for close by restaurants that didn't require a lot more driving in the bad weather. The room was well appointed, clean and looked as if recently redone. The only thing not perfect was that the next room over had an incredibly loud snorer that I heard several times during the night... maybe some extra insulation is in order. All in all, I'd definitely stay here again should I find a reason to return to Bradenton.
