"Comfortable room, great breakfast"

5
17/10/2018

I stayed there for 3 nights. The breakfast was different everyday and everything was fresh. Great choice of fresh fruit, yogurt, egg, sausage, bread, waffle, porridge etc. The bed was very comfortable. And I liked the fact there was a fridge in the room. I also used the hot tub which was really big and hardly anyone is there. Would stay there again.

"Great location across the street from the University, but small rooms"

13/10/2018

We stayed here for 3 nights, taking our 2 teenage daughters to check out the university. Great location, right across the street from the university. Easy parking. Staff was great. Room was clean. A very good breakfast buffet is included in the price. 3 complaints: 1. The room was tight for 2 adults and 2 teens. We had 2 queen beds, which left very little floor space in the room. No space to set up our 4 suitcases - they had to be propped on furniture in the room (a chair, the desk, the dresser). It was tight. 2. The footsteps of the people in the room above us stomping around their room was very loud and annoying. Despite my complaints, we'll probably go back because of the location. 3. Like most hotels, they offer little shampoo and conditioner bottles. So bad for the environment! Instead they should have the wall dispenser in the shower. Come on! This is Boulder! You guys know better!

"Great for Groups!"

We had our company retreat at the Boulder Inn. It could not have been better! From first contact, the Director of Sales, Ari Rubin, just kept saying "yes" to our requests. We had a great meeting room, the sleeping rooms were very comfortable, the breakfasts were wonderful, the staff friendly and accomodating and so on and so on. Of course, the area is stunning and there were tons of outdoor activities to supplement. The whole experience was perfect and seamless. So.... huge thanks to Ari and the entire staff of the Boulder Inn.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Judy, You were an absolute pleasure to work with; a true professional. Please know that your company is always welcome back at the Boulder Inn. Ari

"Great stay, close to campus and hiking trails with great breakfast"

09/10/2018

We booked this place for the proximity to the hiking trails. Turned out with a great room with a great breakfast. We had breakfast, showered, checked out and made our way to the hiking trails (Royal Arch). This location worked out great.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Hankwisco, Our complimentary hot breakfast is available to all hotel guests every morning from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM. "Love This Place!!!"

Whenever I am in Boulder visiting my daughter at CU, I stay here. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the complimentary breakfasts provide a wealth of choices (both healthy and un- !!), and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

"Satisfied"

28/09/2018

Could have a little better parking. If you have full size pick up or a little bigger plan on getting door dings. The view from our room was great! The laundry room was pretty tidy and stocked with washing detergent and dryer sheets. Beds were comfortable. Staff was pretty friendly.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi brockmansheating2018, It is disappointing to find out that you were satisfied, but that we did not exceed your expectations. We really want to provide you with the type of service that you rave about. We offer free parking, unlike most of the hotels in town. Although we have one of the largest hotel parking lots in the city, I am sorry that you did not find it large enough for your truck. If you stay here again, please see me. We have two spaces dedicated for tour bus parking. I would be happy to offer one of them to you. Ari

"Bugs in My Bed"

2
27/09/2018

The hotel is older but they have made some attempts to upgrade furnishings and paint. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the past two and a half years. My experiences on this trip were new. The first issue that I have shared with Best Western in that I woke up on the first morning and found a cockroach in my bed. Not my favorite way to start the day. The following morning about 1/2 of the hotel was without power. I understand that things happen and that sometimes pest management systems sometimes come up short, but the reaction of the front desk staff was not excusable. In both cases, the front desk staff acted as if the issues were common and just a part of their normal day. Nobody apologized or expressed any empathy for the situation.

BoulderInn, General Manager at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Dear Michael, Thank you for completing a review regarding your recent stay at our property. On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. It is important to us to receive feedback so that we may implement improvements to ensure we offer a better experience for guests in the future. I do apologize for the bug in the room and rest assured it was not a cockroach although at this point it still remains uncaptured. The large sliding glass doors sometimes allow bugs in when left opened. This is particularly true on the first floor. We have taken the added precaution of having your room professionally treated outside its normal schedule. Thank you for bring this to our attention. I also apologize for the untimely power outage we experienced. Our community is in the process of taking over control of our power supply and hope to have more control over such occurrences in the future. If I can provide any future assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me directly at 303-449-3800. Sincerely, Steven Wallace General Manager Best Western Plus Boulder Inn

"Superior Customer Service - Above and Beyond!"

24/09/2018

First of all this is a super chic place, and the room I stayed in was large and well appointed. MORE IMPORTANTLY: I left my cell phone in the hotel lobby when I went to the van for the trip back to Denver airport - and not only did they reach out to the van company immediately to tell me they had the phone but they also sent it out USPS priority that same day to my home, where it arrived 2 days later intact and functioning. A very thankful shout out to Tommy and Ryan and the whole team at BW, and also Peter at Green Ride!! Love the Boulder attitude, love Boulder!!!

"Nice hotel for Boulder parents"

5
16/09/2018

Excellent, clean, well-cared for hotel on the very edge of UC. Free breakfast, low prices and you can;t get any closer to the school. Park in front of your room, fabulous view of the Rockies and the school. Perfect for those considering UC or moving their young 'un into his /her dorm room.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi bruce f, The Boulder Inn is the closest hotel to the University of Colorado campus. Our guests walk across the street for all events. I am glad that you enjoyed what we have to offer. Ari

"A very nice hotel in a busy university town with lots of amenities."

5
11/09/2018

This hotel is a typically nice Best Western. Very well decorated with lots of amenities, but it is overpriced. This is a busy university town and all the hotels are priced accordingly, however $225 per night seems high to us for a Best Western queen room. Hotel is right in the heart of town, near the university. Desk personnel are helpful and friendly. The breakfast was particularly good with lots of choices. Our room is clean and well equipped. Nicely decorated. Good wi-fi.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi hotgrandmacwt, Boulder is a very busy college town. The combination of natural beauty, controlled growth, and impeccable city planning make it an ideal place to visit. We make it our goal to be the most competitively priced upper-mid scale hotel in Boulder. I am so glad that you enjoyed what we have to offer. Please let me know the next time you come through Boulder. I am happy to help facilitate your reservation. "On our way to Jackson.."

5
09/09/2018

We stayed one night in the Boulder Inn while on our way out west for our Honeymoon. SUPER REASONABLE pricing for Boulder area. This hotel is also being remodeled, our room was finished.. looked nice. Granite countertops in bathroom, comfortable king bed. Location is in all the action of boulder, but still quiet. Only negative is that it's not quite walking distance to Pearl st.. (2mi)

"Great Hotel!"

5
09/09/2018

My daughter and I had a Mom/Daughter weekend in Boulder.1st time staying @ the Boulder Inn. What a great hotel; well maintained, great beds/pillows, great staff, great free breakfast-nothing fancy yet good quality. We now have a go-to hotel in Boulder!

"Directory Next to CU campus"

5
08/09/2018

The hotel is located directly next to CU Boulder Campus. US36 can be Crowded via an underpass. Had a room facing the flatirons and US36. Great view - no vehicle noise with closed window. Aorconditioning very quiet. Nice and helpful staff. Room size is sufficient.

"Enjoyable stay"

5
07/09/2018

Friendly Check Inn and helpful with info with regards to local area. Room was good and only negative was our head board was adjacent to the main entrance door to the block, every time some one exited or entered the building it shook the wall. Thankfully the hotel was not busy the 2 nights we were there. Breakfast facilities are excellent with both hot and cold options and Andrew was very friendly and attentive. We used the hot tub and it was clean and well maintained. Would not hesitate to recommend and stay again.

"My new home in CO"

5
23/08/2018

I chose this hotel randomly while moving my son from Ohio into University of CO Boulder. I hoped to find somewhere I could always stay when I visit. I'm actually staying longer than planned because this hotel is so nice, friendly, trendy and clean. I've been very impressed and I travel frequently. From check in with Alex to hospitality with Jason on maintenance who PAID for my pop when I didn't bring enough $ for vending. What a great place. I'm very pleased. Keep up the great work Steve Wagner!!!

"Clean, great customer service, eco friendly! "

5
22/08/2018

Worlds different from that hell house Rodeway Inn! They saved the day when we were refused a proper room at Rodeway without the smell of stale cigarettes and vomit, not were there electrical wires hanging out of the door!!! This place was a 5 Star hotel compared to that crap hole Rodeway.

"Great to be back"

5
21/08/2018

I always look forward to coming back to the Boulder Inn, and I'm never disappointed. There's always a warm welcome and friendly service from everyone - the front office, the back office, the breakfast room, housekeeping, everyone. They're constantly improving the property. This time it was fantastic new room furniture: a marble-topped fridge/drawer/counter-top unit, with a pull-out desk and a Herman Miller Aeron chair (no kidding) where one can actually get work done. And of course the little touches I love so much: diverse and delightful art in the rooms and corridors, with fresh flowers on little tables in the hallways.

"College Drop-off"

4
19/08/2018

My husband booked this room for me and son as I was dropping him off a college that weekend. The room wasn't as nice as I am used to, but the staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was SO much better than I thought it would be. It was also very close to his dorm ( 4 min drive - 10 min walk). I would stay here again.

"Broken AC - NO WAY this was not reported before"

1
11/08/2018

Broken AC fan, loudly rattling all night long and not cooling the room. There is NO WAY this has not been previously reported by another guest. The front desk offered a discount when we check out tomorrow. Very disappointing quality.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hello Elizabeth, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We had it fixed immediately. Ari

"Wedding trip with kids"

4
10/08/2018

Overall you can tell the hotel was an older motel resurfaced, but for the most part they did an excellent job. Beds were very comfy, bedrooms were spacious, and there were plenty of small ammenities to make it feel more personal. We loved the pool area. Very family friendly, my only complaint is the bars on the balcony were large enough for my 1 year old to fit through so we could not use our balcony. I am surprised there is not some code preventing them from being so wide, definitely a liability. The lovely lady who greeted us at breakfast was also very friendly, and plenty of options for kids and adults. Overall it was a little pricey, but seemed on par with the area, but we had a great time and really enjoyed this hotel. Would definitely stay again.

"Disappointed"

3
06/08/2018

I thought this hotel would be much nicer than it was for what I paid. The highlights are: staff is friendly, breakfast is OUTSTANDING, pool/hot tub area is great. The downside, called the front desk to ask a question, she asked if she could call me back, never did so I called her back 2 hours later then I got a line of how she tried calling blah blah blah... I don't care just answer my question. The bathrooms really need to be updated. Tub is old. Tile is old. All of the doors stick, like from the paint. I can't explain it. Make sure you have shut your door tight. So many people had open doors. It may be because rooms are pricey in Boulder but I feel like I paid about 80.00 too much a night for this place.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi crazycampinlady, Our complimentary hot breakfast is available to all hotel guests every morning from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, juices, 3 cereals, English muffins, Moe's bagels, doughnuts, yogurt station, oatmeal, assorted fresh fruit, coffee, and fresh Belgian waffles. I am so glad that you enjoyed what we have to offer. Regarding the cost, I understand that Boulder can be a pricey town. We make it our goal to be the most competitively priced upper-mid scale hotel in Boulder. I am sorry if you found the price to be high. If this continues to be a challenge, there are lesser priced hotels outside of town. The suburb of Aurora is a fantastic place to save money, while still only being 1 hour from Downtown Boulder. Ari

"Weekend in Boulder"

3
03/08/2018

The property is kind of hidden off the main road, but once we found it, it really is not far from downtown, etc. The exterior and pool area could use some updating, but the room was very clean and pleasant enough. The walls are very thin, so if you are a light sleeper, this could be a problem. We slept well anyway. The breakfast was good, but crowded. We paid $15 for our daughter, who we were visiting, to join us the 1st morning, but even after handing in the coupon, felt as though we were being watched. The lobby staff was much more friendly than the breakfast room staff! Overrall, not a bad stay.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Cristina S, Cleanliness is one of our top goals at the hotel. Our housekeepers go through extensive training, and each room is inspected by two different members of management before a guest can stay in the room. I am so happy that you found the room to be very clean. Ari

"The staff taff has best service attitude I've seen!"

5
01/08/2018

This hotel is very well-maintained with lots of amenities. From check-in to check-out, the hotel staff are exceptionally helpful and generous. We found several upgrades to the buildings and pool area on our stay this year. We love this place.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi myrburrows, It is absolutely our pleasure to host your family. We consider ourselves very fortunate. Ari

"Great breakfast, saggy bed"

3
31/07/2018

Yes, breakfast is great, the room is spacious and looks quite fancy with the woorden floors. Location is also nice. However, I don't get the overly positive reviews, as there is a clear downside in terms of sleeping comfort: the bed felt really saggy and sound isolation is not OK (hello neigbours!)

"great location of the hotel, in a great city"

3
25/07/2018

big room, clean room. my room had no view (I look out onto a residential building across the street). older room, though. mattress is soft, pillow is extra soft (which I think is pretty common of Best Western hotels). carpet is a little yucky..... bring your slippers if possible. Other than that, great staff, very attentive. great location, close to everywhere. and free breakfast was included in our booking!

"Expensive Roadside Inn"

3
24/07/2018

Due to my pet I had to cancel my original reservation at a better hotel and make a last minute reservation at this one, with a $300 a night price tag I was hoping to at least get some consideration by hotel management! But no, people walking in got better rate and room than we did! It is what it is, a road side Inn!

"Couple traveling with dog"

5
23/07/2018

We drive from Oregon to Colorado and this hotel made us feel extremely welcomed especially with our dog. Its located by campus surrounded with restaurants and parks which were walking distance. Every night we had parking by our room and were pleased with the amount of parking. Breakfast was great along with the hot tub and pool. There was gas fire pits around the pool which were great to relax by!

"Posh"

16/07/2018

Very posh newly remodeled rooms. Built in 1969 but looks classic. Excellent service and checkin. Good breakfast meal and nice room for that. Convenient location near freeway and downtown area. Nice pool.

"A great place to stay near the CU Boulder campus"

5
15/07/2018

We booked this hotel due to its proximity and walking distance to the CU Boulder campus. We were visiting for two Dead & Company concerts at Folsom Field. The hotel and staff totally got into the spirit of the weekend. When we arrived, the front desk staff were wearing tye die t-shirts. The general manager had thought to provide a "gift basket" completed with a welcome note indicating his appreciation for us choosing the hotel, Dead & Company stickers, posters, a Dead & Company glass and beverages. Even the blackboard welcomed the Dead Heads with song quotes and weather forecasts. The front desk staff was super friendly (I can only remember Alex's name!) and accommodating with restaurant recommendations, directions and just a great attitude. It was very hot this past weekend and the pool provided great relief. The air conditioning in the hotel made the heat bearable. We made use of the complimentary bicycles to go to the farmer's market and all around the area, so we didn't use our car once we parked it. The room was very clean and the beds super comfy. I typically don't sleep well in hotels, but it was very quiet and I was able to sleep in after returning from the hotel at around midnight. Breakfast featured a very complete selection of foods, both hot and cold and had a fresh berry bowl, a nice departure from the standard bananas and apples. They even had organic, pure maple syrup for the waffles rather than just the pre-package fake stuff. The breakfast staff was also very helpful, despite the fact that their coffee machine was broken and they couldn't provide decaf coffee. It's an easy 10 minute walk to the CU campus along a frontage road and then under the main road via an underpass. An easy bike ride to a bike path made it super convenient to get around. I'm a Best Western Rewards member and If I need to revisit the area, I will certainly call the Boulder Inn.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi 0504sally, Thank you for your very extensive review. The Boulder Inn is the closest hotel to the University of Colorado. I am glad that you enjoyed our location. It also sounds like you utilized our complimentary bicycles. A few years ago, my wife and I were staying at a Best Western in a small town in Italy. They had free bikes to use. What a great way to experience the intimacy of a small town. I absolutely loved it. Please let me know the next time you come through Boulder. I am happy to help facilitate your reservation. I can be reached at the hotel, on my personal cell phone number 303-506-9859, or via email at [email protected] Ari Rubin

"Great staff and motel"

5
15/07/2018

The staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond finding me a fork when the delivery guy did not include one with our food! Check in and out was easy! Room was nice , quiet and comfortable! AC wasn't working but they brought a fan which helped some.

"Geat Location"

5
15/07/2018

Everyone was so helpfull in what was astressfull situation getting our daughter situated for her first year at CU. Being right accross the street from CU and one block from what will be her dorm was great. Fantastic breakfast and free parking which is rare in Boulder these days. Our room appeared to have been recently updated with new furniture and flooring. The staff really made it exceptional.

"Nice Rooms; Inconvenient Layout"

3
09/07/2018

The room was nice and updated; however, access to breakfast and the pool was inconvenient. Also, we had a service dog, and because the information from booking.com was not relayed, they tried to charge a $300 pet fee. In the end, it worked out, but it was a hassle we didn't need.

"Great place to stay. Very clean and the people are very helpful. Close to a lot a nice places to eat as well."

09/07/2018

Close to Boulder University . The venue for Dead & Co.The travel date was actually July 2015 , but that drop down only went back 2 years. Beautiful clean city . Great people and lots to do especially if you like the outdoors.

"Never stay here - they stole my shoes"

1
06/07/2018

I left my $200 running shoes behind, called their hotel to which the manager on the phone checked with housekeeping, found my shoes and said he would mail them out right away using the credit card on my file. I waited over a month for them in the mail, called back several times and then the manager told me that the shoes were never found in the first place - lied to my face! (I'm in disbelief!) Invest the extra money and stay in a better place.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Stefanaprodea, We are very sorry that you misplaced your shoes. On a daily basis, our cleaning staff turns in cash, lap tops, and jewelry that have been left behind. Although we would like nothing more than to reunite you with your Addidas; unfortunately we do not have them. We have spoken to all members of our staff regarding your shoes. No one here has any recollection of speaking with you and it was difficult to pinpoint the time you phoned without your phone records. Unfortunately, the violent nature of your last phone call prohibits us from working with you any further. Ari Rubin

"Very nice comfortable hotel"

01/07/2018

Nice hotel next to University with very large rooms, clean, lots of space and two swimming pools. The service was excellent and the persons in the reception very friendly and helpful. Nice large parking, and about 10 mins walk from University. Good breakfast, loved the waffles with Marple syrup.

"Very impressive "

5
22/06/2018

Best Western has certainly stepped up their game. Everything was done in an almost unsterstated manner. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. One heck of a value without losing amenities. The breakfast bar is not your normal continental breakfast.

"Love this place!"

5
12/06/2018

Immaculate room and sparkling bathroom. Pool was also very clean. Astounding view of the flatirons from our balcony. The manager Ari was so gracious in helping me book before we arrived. Tommy greeted us at check in and was so kind and welcoming. Made our short stay in boulder very comfortable.

"Comfortable night stay"

4
10/06/2018

Late evening arrival without reservation - Second stay for us. Clean and comfortable stay in a king room facing east toward back parking lot. Efficient check-in, clean public areas, quiet and comfortable night sleep. Breakfast experience good, not great. No issues upon check out - did advise breakfast room attendant MIA so no one took our coupons. Love the Best Western Rewards member treat bag - thanks! Appears rooms are getting new carpet, baseboards, etc. but renovation work did not impact our stay.

"Great Location, Great Value"

03/06/2018

Located right outside the University of Colorado, this is a great location if you are visiting the school, coming in for the bolderBOULDER or any other event in Boulder. Easily accessible to Pearl Street by car and, if more ambitious, an easy 35 minute (2 mile) walk to Pearl Street. For the price, the rooms are clean and nice, the views are excellent and the breakfast is solid.

"If this place is a BW "Plus" then I'd hate to see the standard BW"

2
30/05/2018

Stayed in this place for 2 nights over the memorial day weekend and the experience was very average, especially for the price point. There is very little "plus" in this complex apart from the pool and the Jacuzzi, which are nice additions. The room was just OK and the bathroom was a little dated though decent. The fact that this complex is priced at a similar level to the Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt etc. is just wrong. This place reminds me of old motor inns that I stayed at in small country towns while on family vacations when I was growing up and is not what I would have expected from a $200 plus a night hotel in Boulder. This place was probably a Motel 6 style place 10 years ago or so and they've made a few cosmetic changes but there the age of the building is evident and impossible to address via minor upgrades. The key issue is that the rooms provide very little protection from the noise from the hallway, which is an issue in the morning as you are constantly hearing doors slam. I was in the mid hallway and this was still an issue but I would have hated to be in one of the rooms at the end of the hallway with the main door slamming constantly. ear plugs are essential if you want to sleep in after 8am. The location is good so I have to give this place that at least.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Andrew M, As a financial analyst for JPMorgan Chase, I am sure that you are quite familiar with both yield management as well as supply and demand. The fourth largest road race in the United States takes place every year in Boulder, CO over Memorial Day weekend. Over 50,000 people run this race, and you chose to stay in the absolute most prime location in Boulder for a participant. You subsequently expressed disappointment that the price you paid was higher than you felt it should be. The Boulder Inn has received the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for the past 6 years. We have received numerous awards on a chain level, and our percentage of repeat customers is over 4 times the national average. The overwhelming majority of our guests have great experiences, and write glowing reviews. The above documentation of your negative feelings is a clear reflection of your dismay over price during a citywide event. Ari

I was in town for three days for a conference. I loved the view from my room and slept like a rock in the king size bed...i enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well. It was a welcome way to relax after a long day stuck in a conference...I'll be back!!

"Not the best"

10/05/2018

A bit too pricey for the quality, which was OK, but not great. The hotel itself is very old and rundown but the breakfast area looks new and is nice. The hotel is right by the highway which didn't bother me too much but my husband found it somewhat difficult to sleep (he is a very very light sleeper). Overall, wasn't terrible, but probably wouldn't stay here again.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi coffeeandalmondmilk4, Although Boulder is known for higher rates, we make it our goal to be the most competitively priced upper-mid scale hotel in Boulder. I am sorry if you found the price to be high. Because of our ideal location, new remodel, and great amenities, we are on of the first hotels in Boulder to sell out. If price remains a challenge, I normally recommend staying in one of the Denver suburbs, such as Aurora. These hotels may be able to offer you the price point you desire. Ari

"Horrendous Hotel"

1
08/05/2018

Very smelly, overpriced, and awful location as the highway is not 50 feet away and leaves you with the lovely aroma of car pollution throughout your stay. I stay in Boulder quite often for work and would recommend really any hotel in Boulder other than this one. I would rather sleep in a tent than stay in this hotel again.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Dear Trip Advisor Community, It is unfortunate that not all reviews on this site are factual. Sometimes caustic non-factual reviews are written by disgruntled citizens and ex-employees. Sometimes effusive reviews are written by business owners in an attempt to boost their scores, and increase business. Our hotel offers the wonderful amenity of free parking to all of our hotel guests. The review above was written by a young woman who knowingly chose to leave her car in our parking lot, when she was not a guest. Her fictitious review was her process of venting when her car was towed. Eighteen years ago, Trip Advisor was created to be used as a research tool for the traveler. In those years it has evolved into one of the more useful tools on the internet. It saddens me that some people abuse this tool, and destroy it for the rest of us. Ari

"Old and New and not great"

05/05/2018

I guess this is a Plus because of the nice breakfast room with meeting rooms in a new building beside a very old hotel. The rooms are at the level of a poor Best Western. Small and old. Especially troubling was our first floor room had a weird slab level abrupt change of about 3 inches about 5 ft. in from the door. You don't see it because because the carpet is dark and there isn't much light at that place. I tripped on it. We had to watch out for it the rest of the time we were there. Older people could trip on it and there would be a major lawsuit with BW having no defense. Amazing that this was allowed to be there after some previous reconfiguration of that room. Also, I know rooms are expensive overall in Boulder but this was over-priced for a BW. I've stayed in about 50 BW rooms and this is my first scathing review.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi DigitalDrifter, Thank you for your review. The slab issue in your specific room is a new matter. We are currently addressing this, and we hope to have it rectified shortly. By no means does not take away from your experience. Although the city of Boulder is known for higher rates, we make it our goal to be the most competitively priced upper-mid scale hotel in Boulder. I am sorry if you found the price to be high. I recently stayed in Manhattan, NYC. I was taken aback on the price that I was charged for a modest hotel room, compared with the price I paid for much fancier hotel rooms in other cities. On the other hand, I understood that the price was created by the lack of supply in the city. As the great American Author Robert Collier once said; "Supply always comes on the heels of demand." Thank you for your continued loyalty to the Best Western brand. Ari

Well-soundproofed rooms, easy-to-use plumbing, even overhead lights in the rooms and softer carpets so you can do pushups without pain. Dining room has great breakfasts and a lady who not only cleans up but makes sure you don't miss anything good. Fitness center has popular equipment, both machines and free weights, all in good condition. Staff is helpful and responsive. On top of that it's just a brisk walk to the UC campus. Stay HERE when you come to Boulder.

"Convenient to University"

4
22/04/2018

We were barely in the hotel but found the location clean and convenient. We chose the rate that included breakfast and it was a good value for our family of four, but if you are just one traveler, save the $ and spend it somewhere local.

"Decent hotel in Boulder"

17/04/2018

A good place to stay in Boulder. There is no good restaurant within walking distance. There is no restaurant n the hotel either so plan accordingly. I ended up using Uber all the time. Keep this in mind or book a hotel neat downtown.

"Great place to stay when visiting Boulder, near the University"

13/04/2018

My husband and I stay here while visiting our son who is attending the University of Colorado, Boulder. This stay, the room was on the ground floor with a glass door to the outside. It was quiet and clean. We were able to put the car right outside our door to load and unload it. The breakfast was great with lots of choices and fresh fruit. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. We had trouble using hotel computer to print our boarding passes and the lobby person let us use his computer. Luckily, he wasn't busy.

"Great place-walking distance to CU Boulder"

Excellent place to stay for visiting CU Boulder. You can park your car for free and walk to the campus. There is a heated outside pool and a hot tub for relaxing in the evening. The free breakfast in the morning had everything that you would want in a very clean dining area. The people working the breakfast were fast, efficient, friendly, and attentive to your needs.

"Excellent service for our large group"

5
02/04/2018

The staff was very helpful and accommodating for our large group. We had 30 college lacrosse players and 12 parents that stayed for three nights. Steve in Facilities and Margaret in Dining were very helpful during our entire stay. They were very flexible with requested facility and dining options with our group. We have stayed at this location multiple years for this annual tournament, and continue to recommend this Best Western Plus.

HI mtbonnoi, Every year, your group is an absolute pleasure to host. Thank you for your loyalty, and for your fantastic review. Ari

"Luxurious rooms"

I've stayed several times at this property and am always impressed by the size of the rooms and how well-appointed the bathrooms are. Given it's proximity to the CU campus (I can walk to meet my son at his dorm or at the bookstore), it is a very good value. I found their breakfast was also really good.

"Not what they used to be!"

3
31/03/2018

Average is pushing it! We hardly ever choose to stay in a Best Western and having had to recently I was reminded why. This is an older hotel that they have tried to inexpensively remodel or update and it shows. Not much to like here, poor mattress and just poor value all the way around.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Craig S, Although we try very hard, I understand that we will not always make everyone happy. It sounds as though you were unhappy. I hope that you find what you are looking for. Ari

"Dirty and cramped"

1
28/03/2018

The bathroom was dirty. To get the shower head to function I had to get the fellow from the front desk. The thermostat only goes down to 68, good luck as the room remained very hot for March. Laundry room was filthy with dust and dirt all over the floor and shelves. No quarter machine so the days climbing wear went unwashed as I didn't bring 50 quarters with me. Very disappointed. I had bigger rooms on this trip for 79.00 bucks. I haven't stayed in a Best Western for many years and they continue to prove they are the worst!

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Steve, Had you expressed your hotel experience in a cohesive and constructive manner, your review may have been helpful to the Trip Advisor community. Instead you chose to lash out; spewing toxic words. As a clinical social worker, you, of all people, know how hurtful your words can be. Ari Rubin

"Staffed with Excellent Staff"

5
22/03/2018

Check-in and out experience, helpfulness of the desk staff and attentiveness of the breakfast staff made this trip enjoyable. The staff also suggested a limousine service between Denver International Airport and the hotel that worked well.

"Great clean place close to University of Colorado (walking distance)!"

5
12/03/2018

We came in town to look at the University's Law School. Boy was this place the perfect location. We were able to walk to the Law School (under the highways via the tunnel) and were able to bike all around campus. You will need a car in this location if you're staying though since Pearl Street is quite a distance. Or, you can Uber.

"What a pleasant surprise!"

5
05/03/2018

Great rate, easy early check-in, pleasant staff, very spacious room with a patio, little store to buy sundries, comfortable bed, great TV and work desk, nice business center, plenty of easily accessible outlets to charge electronics, great shower, decent lighting, tasty and well organized breakfast. Will definitely stay again if business requires a trip to Boulder.

"It was ok"

3
26/02/2018

This was my first trip to Boulder in 35 years. I picked this hotel based on some of the reviews, and the deal I got on some travel site, which ended up not being a good deal (because travel site messed up my reservation and I had to pay an extra night). Anyway...pros...the bed was comfortable, the hotel was quiet, the front-desk guys were very nice, I was allowed to check into my room early, and they have a little "store" with snacks, beverages, etc., on site. Cons...the shower in my room wouldn't drain, and there's not much around the hotel. I ended up being without a vehicle for the weekend, so the goldfish crackers in the "store" were a great dinner the first night, and I ordered pizza for delivery the second night.

"Visiting CU"

17/02/2018

Staff friendly, room clean and breakfast very good. Checked in, went to our room, and as happens sometimes our keys did not work. A maintenance man, Steve, was on our hall, let us in our room and then he went down to replace our keys. Above and beyond friendly.

"Comfortable room"

5
12/02/2018

I was just passing through and didn't take the opportunity to try all the amenities. The room was really nice and the stone used in the construction gave the feeling of a ski lodge. Apparently, there were about six ski lodges within 30 minutes. I also didn't know I was within 5 minutes of the college. An unusual thing did happen that has never happened before. I got a computer generated/ sales person phone call in the room. Overall, it was a really nice room.

29/01/2018

We had a wonderful stay! The room was clean and comfortable! The breakfast was the best! Very impressed! Staff was present to keep breakfast area clean and food replenished. Fresh fruit!... not just bananas, apples and oranges.... but blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries. Great variety! So much to choose from! It is the draw in which we will return! Tip: if you plan to use the hot tub, you need to request a towel from the front desk.

On a quick college tour with my son, I wanted to be near the campus. This place couldn't be closer. We were about 5 minutes from the main entrance to CU. Came up from Central Texas, found Boulder Inn, excellent choice. Staff VERY helpful, especially the red headed young man. The rooms are clean and the views of the mountains are excellent. Hotel is clean. Updated with nice taste and style. Well lit up at night and staff are friendly and willing to help out. Breakfasts were top notch with lots to choose from and very fresh. We looked forward to breakfast every day. Beds are really comfortable. Location provides good access to shopping. Hiking and bike paths. Boulder has alot to offer for everyone all year round. "Clean. Quite. Good breakfast."

28/12/2017

This hotel is clean, quiet and quite comfortable. The carpeting and beds were being replaced while we were there. The breakfast buffet is very good and you will find food for all dietary requirements (vegan gluten free...). It was too cold for us to walk to campus, but Uber will get you there in 3-5 minutes for $7.03. There is a Sprouts market across the street as well as a great pizza joint and an Italian restaurant.

"Beautiful Accomodations - Poor Staff"

If the staff at the front desk were like the presentation in the room, this would have been an A+ hotel! The renovation in the lobby was exceptional!! The Night Auditor who was training, was arrogant and argumentative! My advice, Check-In remotely, Make Sure Their Paperwork Matches YOURS BEFORE you sign! Once in your room, THIS is a great place!!

"Friendly staff, great value."

"Words Cannot Describe! So I have pictures!!!"

5
23/12/2017

Stayed on 11/16/2017. 100% non-smoking. Paid a little more than usual, but for what I got in return it's was great. Total was $141.00 for a King room. Truck parking was available. Room had all amenities, except a microwave (not a deal breaker), and more!! Above average comp cosmetics ...shampoo, soaps, body lotions and free room slippers. They even had Q-tips in a jar on the vanity. Hairdryer was in a soft bag under the vanity. I don't drink coffee but I know a lot of my readers do so they had a Keurig coffee maker with ...get ready ...Dunkin Dounuts K-cups! I've heard DD coffee is pretty popular so there you go. They even had a soft bag for the "fresh" (as in "freshly cleaned") remote. Good for them! Do you know how many people touch the remotes and at other hotels and they NEVER get cleaned!!?? Bed was ever so comfortable. The A/C - heat is controlled by thermostat. Don't let the non-smoking scare you off, just yet. Each room has either an outside balcony or patio!! So just go right outside your room and smoke all you want. But please be courteous and shut the sliding glass door before lighting up so the smell does not go back in the room. Each patio and balcony also had 2 chairs and a small table. This is the way non-smoking, at hotels, should be done!! Bathroom was fully updated with modern fixtures. My only complaint would be the lighting in the vanity area. It makes it look like when you hold a flashlight below your face in the dark ...kind of makes you look a little different and scary ...lol. Again, in no way a deal breaker. Don't drink the 2 water bottles (which "look" complimentary) unless you want to pay $2.00 each. It's in small print, that I missed, on the card on the bottles. This room had just about everything you could want. They even had a small store near the front desk that you could buy snacks and ice cream from. Lots of apartments in the area as you are right near the University of Colorado/Boulder. there's not much to eat on that side of the freeway so you will need to use your car to go do something like that. there's a Taco Bell, Egg and I, Starbucks and Wendy's on the other side of the freeway. Free complimentary hot breakfast that varies by day. All in all this was a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend it to any one. It was a little out of my normal range but in the end it was worth it!!

"Pets Preferred Over Humans"

3
18/12/2017

This pet-friendly hotel does not limit pet-friendly rooms to a specific section of the building. After complaining about a non-stop barking dog in the room next to me (I did not know it was a pet-friendly hotel), I was told I could move to another room. I spent the day traveling from the east coast on planes and shuttles to get to the hotel, had just settled in my room, and was exhausted. I was told I could pack up my stuff and they would put me in another room. In my opinion, they should have moved the pet owner, not me. The area around the sink also smelled very moldy. I had just gotten settled in the second room when a dog started barking in the room next door!! It felt like a bad dream. I called the front desk and they said that room wasn't supposed to have any pets, and they would look into it. There was no further barking after that. I will say the staff was apologetic and very professional. The room was a good value for the money, but the pet situation was intolerable, and I was offered nothing to compensate for these issues.

"Klose Lymphedema Therapist Certification Lodging"

The Klose Lymphedema therapist certification course was taught at this hotel. The lodging was very nice- and a great price. Breakfast included a huge variety of hot options. The location is beautiful. The hotel as an outdoor pool, indoor hot tub, (small) work out room and free use of outdoor bikes. The bike trials are easy and take you along small streams. If you are taking the Klose course, you must stay at the hotel. The large round table and fireplace was a great place for classmates to meet in the evenings and continue stuyding.

06/12/2017

This seems to an older motel however, I was quite genuinely surprised when I got to my room. Everything was extremely clean, warm, inviting, large and up to date. My room looked down over the pool, wishing I had brought a swim suit, but, never gave it a thought because most motel pools are closed down by this time of year. It was close to most everything that you would need and right off the main highway to Denver. I would definitely stay here again.

1st room smelled like smoke and covered up with a fragrance - 2nd room A/C didn't work, hair in the bathtub, doors thin to hallway - old property and covered up with fresh paint. Door to parking lot was supposed to secure after going in and out - broken - didn't secure.

Clean and air it out! 2nd room was acceptable with smell, A/C didn't work, hair in the tub, carpet dirty, doors to exterior hall thin and you can see light under and around it- so basically you hear everything in hallway. Not impressed with this property at all. I would not recommend

"So-So Hotel"

27/11/2017

This hotel has a very convenient location - easy highway access and quick to get to Pearl Street. The rooms could definitely use some updating - pictures on the website do match the rooms. The bathroom lighting is extremely dim, and walls are thin (you can hear others shower and use the restroom). The breakfast offerings are definitely the highlight of this hotel, but make sure you have your breakfast ticket, otherwise the woman who works in that area will not let you eat - she is rather rude and makes you feel as if you have to justify if you re-enter the breakfast room for a coffee refill.

"Super Hotel in Boulder"

21/11/2017

The entire staff, front desk and housekeeping, take their jobs seriously. They are so personable and accommodating. The hotel is well-located for restaurants, nearby malls and wonderful Pearl St. It is also near outdoor activities such as the The Flatirons. We certainly will try to return next year.

"Nice hotel close to campus"

12/11/2017

We stayed here for a conference at UC Boulder and made the 5-10 min easy walk to campus every day. There were also a few restaurants (i.e. Mexican, pizza, McDonalds, sports bar) within walking distance just across the street. Pearl St and airport were easily accessible via Uber as well. There were even bikes at the hotel that we could have used too! The hotel itself was fairly small with 2 interior corridor floors, but nice and had a heated outdoor pool. Every morning included a breakfast starting at 6:30a in the detached building (which also housed the small gym) and was filling with the usual coffee, juices, yogurts, fruits, breads, pastries, cereal, and 3 rotating hot items including eggs/meat. Rooms were adequate enough, but sink area outside of bathroom was tight/cramped, bedding with lots of pillows were a bit too big/fluffy, single lounging chair in corner was uncomfortable, slider to balcony with some seating had only view of student apartments (which was very loud late on weekend nights), and no separate desk (only chair to counter space partially blocking view of tv). Hotel is fine because of its location close to campus for short stays with only 1-2 guests per room, but longer stays with a larger family may not be as comfortable.

"Needs Improvement"

For the price should be much nicer in rooms. Bathroom needed updated badly. Lobby is first impression and the charm ends there. Neat pool area outside with little fire pits and hot tub nice. Just needs serious money poured into the rooms.

I would highly recommend this location..very clean, modern decor. The rooms were spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable. check in and check out was quick and easy, The building was secure, the location was perfect for shopping and for eating out

Loves the rainforest shower head and the ability to open the glass door during the warm weather! Found this hotel on hotels tonight, and then became part of their parents' buff club. Didn't have time to try the pool, but it looked lovely too!

"Not my normal BWPlus experience"

2
26/10/2017

Husband and I stayed 2 nights. First night and morning was okay. Beds, linens, bath towels (only 3) were nice. Shower was good. Grooming area was tiny with awful lighting (ended up applying makeup by the light of the sliding glass door). Toilet seemed to be loose from the wall. Next morning, could make only one cup of coffee (and that contained grounds) because 2 other pods exploded in the Keurig. Did not have breakfast at the hotel and we were out for the entire day. That night, we could not get the room to cool down. Kept hoping the AC would kick in. It did not. It was hot. The morning brought more exploding coffee pods, and the realization that our towels had not been replenished. So, after a sleepless night, no coffee, and sharing the one remaining towel for 2 showers, I went to the desk to check out and complain. Young man was apologetic, but only offered fresh towels. We were checking out! I said we were loyalty customers and hoped he could do better than that. We received a minimal discount. But wait, there's more! After checking out and leaving our key cards in the room, we packed up the car, and took our breakfast vouchers to the breakfast room, only to be locked out! ICING ON THE CAKE! Apparently (as told to us later by the breakfast attendant), upon checking in, someone should have told us we needed our key card to access the breakfast room. So, we waited until someone exited the room so we could get in. After cold bacon and a non-working toaster, we couldn't leave fast enough.

Hi bhmaggie2017, It sounds as though you had many challenges, and I blame ourselves for not giving you the information you needed to be successful. I am sorry that you found the room to be an inappropriate temperature. It is frustrating to hear that you were unable to correctly utilize the air conditioning system in the room. Occasionally guests are challenged by digital thermostats, particularly when they utilize a manual one at home. When purchasing thermostats for the hotel, our goal was to buy the simplest ones on the market. Both the heating and cooling system work unless temperatures are lower than 45 degrees. When this occurs, the heat is the only method of conditioning the room. In order to ensure that only registered guests enter the breakfast room, a room key is required for entry. Although Boulder is one of the safest towns around, you can never be too safe. When you discarded your room keys, you got negated your ability to enter into the breakfast room. I am glad that someone let you in, and that you were able to eat breakfast. Our complimentary hot breakfast is available to all hotel guests every morning from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, juices, 3 cereals, English muffins, Moe's bagels, doughnuts, yogurt station, oatmeal, assorted fresh fruit, coffee, and fresh Belgian waffles. Have a great trip back. Ari

"Clean and Convenient"

20/10/2017

Hotel is clean, staff is friendly and location is convenient. One of the better hotel breakfasts I have had. Overall satisfied with my stay. The only issue I had was that the hotel did not apply the extra rewards points promised when you hang their "environmental" doorknob hanger refusing housekeeping during your stay. The staff didn't seem interested in figuring out how to fix that.

"Very convenient to UC Boulder"

20/10/2017

The Best Western is very convenient if your purpose is visiting UC Boulder. The hotel itself is fine but a bit dated. The rooms are clean but the decor could use some help. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was surprisingly big and extensive. Was only a 2min drive to the campus and within walking distance to a lot of student housing. Also located short drive from several restaurants.

"super convenient for staying near the University of Colorado"

5
11/10/2017

I spent a night here while visiting Boulder to speak at the University of Colorado. I arrived near midnight local time, and found check-in to be very fast. More importantly, even at that hour, I felt completely safe both outside and inside the hotel. Although my room was on the ground floor, near the lobby, the soundproofing was good enough that I wasn't woken up by outside noise. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was quite nice. My room came with a complimentary breakfast, which was served in the adjacent conference building. Breakfast consisted of the usual sorts of cold and hot items, including bacon, scrambled eggs, yogurt, English muffins, juices, and more. Although it was buffet-style, there was a waiter on hand to clear plates, which made the room seem less cluttered. I didn't get a chance to check out the gym, but that was because it was mild enough outside that I went for an easy run in the morning. Boulder has nice wide sidewalks as well as several multi-use paths throughout parks. All in all, this was a perfectly pleasant place to stay.

"Convenient hotel in Boulder"

02/10/2017

I visited Boulder for both a family event and business matters. This hotel is conveniently placed. It is simply appointed and has basic amenities. The room was spacious and clean- not fancy but has good beds and decent furniture. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

"smells like the highway"

3
01/10/2017

Inside of the hotel was fine, but as soon as one stepped outside (including the room patios) it smelled like diesel, presumably because the hotel is right beside a major road/highway. Not super pleasant to walk anywhere. Also why is all the cutlery in the breakfast restaurant disposable, since there is clearly a dishwasher for the plates? Fine but you can do better.

"When in Boulder this is outstanding place to stay..."

30/09/2017

Many pluses about this place, and the quotes with photographs in each hallway are another very nice update for anyone. If you need to be near the University this location is hard to beat. Close to everything and quick dash onto freeway to go visit Denver. Good separation of location for breakfast area, which is well staffed and comfortable and the hot tub is in its own little building, overlooking the attractive pool area. Enjoy your stay.

"The BEST Best Western in the country!"

28/09/2017

The decor is modernized; the rooms are refreshingly clean; the staff is friendly; management is on IT-anticipating your every need; the meeting rooms are always set up as instructed by our contract. Breakfast is pretty much the same as others but it served with a touch of class-cute plates & plasticware that looks like stainless steel. The room had a fridge but no microwave. I travel all over the country speaking to my women and I have to say this is a the best Best Western in the country!

"The little things really add up"

28/09/2017

As an experienced traveler I wanted to salute this hotel with a review (only the second I ever bothered to write) .So many little things I admired about this property. 1) There's an exhaust fan in the bathroom! How many hotels have you stayed in...even 5-star...that didn't plan this in their construction. When you are traveling with others this little nicety keeps everyone happy. 2) The A/C switches from heat to cold. During my September stay in this beautiful mountain side community the outside weather went from 80 degree days to 40 degree. days. Being able to go from cooling to heating was important. From my experience, many hotels offer one...or the other. 3) You can keep the HVAC fan on continuously in either mode. Who wants to hear the thump of the A/C going on and off all night...and feel the room warming between thumps. Why doesn't every hotel have this sleep-saving / white-noise-creating option? 4) Electrical outlets galore...without even crawling around on the floor or pushing the mattress away from the wall. Both bed lamps had 110 volt outlets...as well as the frequently found outlet on the desk. I found the extra outlets useful. 5) Unbelievably fast wifi! No problem streaming Netflix that's for sure. I did a speed test and as I recall it was something like 70Mbps which is faster than I have with my cable modem at home. I mentioned this to the manager at the front desk who said that many of their regular customers are scientists who are visiting the University...or one of the 16 scientific institutes located in Boulder. They insist on it. I'm glad they do.

Beautiful fairly small hotel. It was in a great location, easy to find and near Chataqua (hiking) and various restaurants, grocery and coffee places. The hotel was surrounded with beautiful landscape and planted mums- it was impressive. Quality and cleanliness was very nice. Overall very lovely stay.

"Convenient and good value"

24/09/2017

We stayed for our honeymoon. We went to Rocky Mountain National Park. It is over an hour to the park but we didn't mind. The price was good and so was the breakfast. The view from our room 238 overlooked the pool and mountain. There are good options for food in town. Didn't realize this was a college town so I imagine it is not as busy in summer. Overall good value.

So many problems in this hotel: -Room are very noisy, I think the hotel is old and you can hear the conversation of your Neighbors. Take a room at the first floor or you will be waken up as soon as somebody walks -My phone has been stolen either in the breakfast room or in my room -Looking for my phone, I found many items in my room: glasses and a purse -> cleanliness, great! -The bar maintaining the curtains fell on me when I Drew them -When repairing it, the staff put plaster on my clothes, great! -At checkout, they charged me $400 instead of refunding me as I was leaving earlier -> I won't go in this hotel again

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi I699MQjulienb, You chose to purchase a room through an third party, rather than contacting a hotel directly. You chose to purchase a pre-paid, non-cancellable reservation, rather than a more expensive rate with greater flexibility. Other people did not make these choices for you, they were all made by you. An adult. When your travel plans changed and it became necessary for you to leave early; it quickly became apparent that the choices you made were poor ones. Rather than accepting the responsibility for your choices, you decided to take out your frustrations on a hotel that played absolutely no part. I will not reply to the myriad of issues you listed above that were never brought to our attention during your stay. Instead, I will continue to teach my children to take responsibility for their own actions. Ari

If you're looking for a place to stay that's right off the highway, this is a good place. A little awkward to get in and out of, but once you figure it out, not too bad. Room was decent, clean but not immaculate. Décor was okay - nothing fancy. Shower was amazing. Lighting for makeup was not great - lots of reflection in the mirror. Staff was friendly, and the breakfast was excellent.

"Nice overall"

17/09/2017

Spent a week at this property in Boulder. Good sized room but could use a bit of updating. Lighting over sink is not good making it very difficult for hair and makeup, also my husband had difficulty shaving without decent light. The breakfast is above average, which is nice considering the price of the room. We enjoyed the pool area but hot tub was WAY too hot. Everyone who used it complained, and it was turned down towards the end of our stay. All in all a nice hotel though.

"Confused but comfy"

17/09/2017

Hotel is comfortable just hard to locate . Once found it was easier. But you can see the sign just difficutl to get to. Very few Restaurants, settled for Wendy's. For Supper. Breakfast was first rate. Just like going out to eat since you leave the hotel to walk to another building for breakfast. The overlook of the village of Boulder is well worth the drive. Just watch our for the crazy bicyclists.

"Comfortable, good service, noisy fans"

4
11/09/2017

This motel has a convenient central location, rooms and common areas nicely decorated, dual-pane windows, room to room sound about average for motels, comfy beds. We did not use our AC system much, but on 2 of the 3 nights we stayed, a neighbor kept their AC on all night, and their AC fan noise was bothersome in our room. When the neighbor's AC fan was off, our room was quiet. Staff was attentive to our needs - unfortunately, they could not change out the noisy fans.

"Nice Hotel"

10/09/2017

We used to stay at the Best Western Golden Buff when in Boulder but, alas, it's gone so we have been looking for a replacement. This could almost be it but not quite. Lodging in Boulder is pricey and this hotel is no exception. The room was clean and comfortable, the patio was perfect for our dog, and the environment felt very safe. The location was far enough from Pearl Street and the iconic McGuckin's that we had to maneuver thru Boulder traffic more than we would have liked. The complimentary breakfast was very nice but I really wish, since this is Boulder, more organic/vegetarian/vegan options were available. The only issue we had was the clogged shower drain that allowed water to run all over the bathroom floor and onto the carpet. Fortunately we had enough towels to sop up the water after my husband unclogged the drain so we could finish showering. We reported the issue to the front desk and they said they would have maintenance fix it but really it would have been nicer had they offered us a discount on the room. I guess this didn't qualify since we sorta fixed the problem ourselves!

"Great Stay!"

4
10/09/2017

Clean, comfortable bed, great breakfast. Friendly staff. Convenient location (in town for a wedding). Type of rooms should be identified on internet website. Thought we were getting more in our room than we did. Also, they charge your room if you drink the water bottles that appear to be complimentary. Need a towel bar by the hand sink.

"great option in boulder"

4
08/09/2017

Compared to the cost of the other local hotels, the Best Western Plus was a great value. rooms were clean and spacious. Location was only 1-2 miles from Pearl street and an easy bike ride (free bikes provided by the hotel). My only complaint was that the bed was too soft and I had to sleep on the floor.

"Comfortable, quiet,. All you want without glitz."

03/09/2017

Very pleasant place to stay. Very convenient to town. I have young grandchildren living nearby and the ability to enjoy the pool with them was wonderful. It's a great pool. The hotel offers "free" borrowed bikes provided by a local real estate company. They try to sell you real estate afterward, but nice enough about it.

"Convenient, clean, great staff"

01/09/2017

This hotel is one of the few dog-friendly spots in Boulder. The staff couldn't be more accommodating and polite. Rooms are always clean, some are nicer than others of course. Love that every room has a balcony/porch. The included breakfast always has hot options and the staff are very helpful there, too. Good toiletries and coffee maker in room.

"Good Staging for Flight Out of Denver International"

3
30/08/2017

After a week on the road, finishing with a trip through Rocky Mountain National Park, the Best Western Plus Boulder Inn was a great overnight stay to finish out the trip and get us to Denver International in about an hour. The room was clean - bathroom efficient. The room did have a bit of a musty clean smell. The pool area was pretty good considering the property is very close to a busy, major highway I would recommend that the property managers take a look at the area in back of the hot tub area. It could use some tlc and a broom. The breakfast area was excellent and efficient. Included in the $179 rate. Overall a good stay.

"Best Western Plus Boulder Inn vs. Boulder Marriott: Both Recommended"

4
28/08/2017

Boulder has only a handful of good places to stay, and It can be hard to find a room at all in the city. This is a good choice. (Another is the Boulder Marriott, where I most recently stayed, which has its own attractions. Please see my separate review.) The Best Western Plus Boulder Inn It has large rooms, a pool with a view of the Flatirons, and a friendly staff. Its glass-walled lobby is a welcoming sight, especially at night, and I imagine more so in winter. It is close enough to the University of Colorado to walk to most or all of it, including the stadium. While at the hotel, I heard some new arrivals express disappointment that the hotel is not on the Pearl Street Mall. Actually no hotels in the city of Boulder are on Pearl Street, not even the luxury hotel, the St. Julien Hotel and Spa. This isn't the closest hotel to Pearl Street, but it, like everything else in Boulder, is a short drive or bus ride away. I should note that while I sponsored a group to stay at this hotel, I wasn't able to stay there myself. Still, I got to know the property and staff. I interacted with several employees over a 10 day period. Ari, the Director of Sales, was helpful and responsive. At the front desk, I remember Chris, a manager, and Camile the short-timer (who was headed to a new career, a loss to the hotel). All were friendly and welcoming. The hotel has a breakfast room and meeting rooms in a separate building across the driveway. The breakfast looked good. My daughter Vivian, who did eat there, rated it above other hotels where we've recently stayed. I have to say that I was a little envious that the Boulder Marriott didn't offer breakfast like this hotel did. I was also sorry that I didn't use the pool, especially since the one at the Marriott was closed. I also inspected a room. It was unusually spacious by the the standards of a mid-priced hotel and would have been comfortable for a long stay like the one I had.

"Great location, nice hotel"

5
28/08/2017

This hotel is very conveniently location - 2 minutes from our son's apartment and 5 minutes from campus and downtown. It's received a major overhaul over the past few years and is really nice. The rooms are nicely appointed. The beds are super comfortable. Every room has a small patio with lawn furniture, that's nice for hanging out. The breakfast buffet is well-stocked and even had fresh berries (very unusual for a restaurant buffet).

"Freshman weekend experience"

27/08/2017

Staff had a bit of confusion about cancellation policy. Issues related to company-wide promotions for desk staff. Good campus location. Breakfast could be better, and should focus on more natural foods. Shower was broken, should be fixed.

"In need of updating"

3
20/08/2017

I always stay in this hotel when visiting my son in Boulder but it is time to update all the rooms. I was not so happy for the price that I paid. The employees are great. The location is perfect. The area very quiet and closed to the university and stores.

"Best Hotel In Boulder - Best Western"

13/08/2017

I love when my company books a stay at Boulder Best Western because it is the best of the best hotels. I travel a great deal and stay in average of 2-3 hotels per week throughout the year all over the US and internationally. Love Boulder where the GM takes a personal stake in making sure I have all I want - even gives a FREE bottle of wine to frequent guests! Image something FREE from a hotel! The rooms are decorated for relaxation, the lobby is easy to hang out in and the pool is fine too.

"Bad sleep"

09/08/2017

Fancy place, big room with tv, rand refrigerator and king size bed. Nice and clean. But the bed sagged and the ventilation system was very loud and you couldn't turn it off. But the window didn't open, so if we had turned it off, the room would have been stuffy. I can do without the fancy lobby and dressy staff in favor of a good sleep. We did like the Terry bathrobes. This place has a pool and gym if you're staying long enough, and breakfast is included, with fresh fruit.

Hi Maro, All of our rooms have sliding glass doors that open up to either a private patio or balcony. Many of our guests sit on their balconies and watch the sun go down behind the Rocky mountains. Some drink coffee, while others sit and read, enjoying the fresh Colorado air. I am sorry if the door opening process was not apparent to you. We may have to better train our staff on how to explain this to those that find it challenging. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I am glad that you found the front desk staff uniforms fancy. Ari

Very clean and comfortable. Room looked recently updated. Although a bit more that we like to spend, it was more affordable than most places in Boulder. Loved the makeup mirror and large table in room to get ready as sink/vanity by bathroom is only for one person. Short Uber drive to Pearl St. Did not use pool, but it looked great. Plenty of outlets near bed/nightstand which is so convenient. Great hot breakfast! Would definitely stay again!

"Disappointed. "

06/08/2017

We were disappointed with our stay. The staff was great but the hotel was a bit rundown. Our room needed a big make over. It looked tired and run down. Housecleaning forgot to clean our room which ticked us off. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with many good selections. Location wise it was great. Real close to Colorado Univ. campus. We paid over $300/night so we expected better.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Christopher, The Boulder Inn is the closest hotel to the University of Colorado campus. Our guests walk across the street. I am glad that you found the location convenient. On the night of your visit, Boulder's AAA 4 diamond hotel was well over $500 per night. Boulder's historic hotel was approximately $460 per night. During peak season, these are the prices the market has created. We have made it our goal to be the most competitively priced upper-mid scale hotel in Boulder. I am sorry if you found this price to be too high. I hope that you will come back to Boulder during a non-peak month. You will find lodging prices substantially lower. I recommend November - April. If you do, please let me know. I am happy to help facilitate your reservation. "Great customer service"

31/07/2017

We decided last minute to attend our son's graduation. We are a 7 hour drive from Boulder, Colorado so I booked our room using TripAdvisor and Booking.com. I chose the Best Western Plus Boulder Inn. I was looking for a specific area so our travel time to CU would be short, they also had a breakfast so it fit the bill. Our booking was a last minute decision, I was in a hurry and....I booked on the wrong dates....whoops.... I totally messed it up. When my mistake came to our attention the front desk, told us to contact Booking.com whom I had used as our booking agent. David of Booking.com was very pleasant, helpful and understanding of my situation. He could tell I was in a panic and did not know what to do. David brought it to my attention that I had booked a non refundable room....uuuggghhhh ....obviously I was ....WHAT in the world was I thinking when I did this.....David went above and beyond to contact Best Western Plus in Boulder Colorado and explain the situation. Chris the manager or assistant manager was very helpful and agreed to cancel our reservation with no fee. Thank you both so much for helping me in a stressful situation that was all my doing. We had a wonderful time in Boulder and attended our son's graduation. I would recommend both businesses due to their customer service and pleasant demeanor when I was in a panic. Thank you again David and Chris.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, bed comfortable. Breakfast included hot items like eggs, bacon, sausage, as well as breads, yogurt, waffles. Nice pool and hot tub. Easy location to freeway. Close to walking trails.

Excellent stay. Love the new renovations and the conference room. All the staff are pleasant and helpful. The location is convenient to many food options as well as walking and hiking. The bed was comfortable.

Stayed for 1 night en route from Moab to mt Rushmore. Friendly staff at the front desk, spotless room and very good breakfast service. The whole place seems to be refurbished recently. Everything was just fresh and up to date. The gym and pool are also very good. I'd recommend it for sure.

"Good location; acceptable accommodations"

17/07/2017

The hotel is clean and pleasant. Staff is friendly. A small question about billing was handled quickly and satisfactorily. I will probably stay there again. If I had been given the option, I would have rated the hotel experience good. A few disappointments: 1. Soundproofing seemed to be non-existent. I had yappy dogs in the room next to me one day and loud teenage boys probably on the floor above another. I strongly suggest requesting a second floor room to avoid clomping above your head when trying to sleep. 2. There was no grab bar in the shower. This may have been legal, but frankly, I was surprised at the lack of concern about the safety of guests. 3. There was no way to charge a cell phone on the night table next to the bed. While there was an accessible plug in the lamp on the dresser, I want my phone next to me at night and expect to be able to charge it while I sleep. 4. The Keurig coffee machine was a nice touch, but there was no way to make tea.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Marilyn E, Thank you for your extensive review of the hotel. I am glad that you found the hotel clean. In my opinion, cleanliness is perhaps the most important aspect of the lodging industry. Our housekeeping department goes through extensive training. Each room is subjected to the scrutiny of two different managers, using black lights and other high tech methods. Each of our 99 rooms has 2 USB chargers next to the bed. I am sorry that this was not made apparent to you. It sounds as though we may have to address this with additional staff training. Please let me know the next time you come through Boulder. I am happy to help facilitate your reservation. "Under the Radar"

15/07/2017

We love staying at the Best Western Plus in Boulder, CO. It is in walking distance to the University of Colorado, which comes in handy for parents' weekend and graduation. While the complimentary continental breakfast is typical fare, it is hardy and handy if you want a quick bite before starting your day. The rooms are nice, with clean bathrooms and a very comfortable bed. Most have views of the Flat Irons.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi 418rachelm, Thank you for your positive words on the hotel. As the closest hotel to the University of Colorado, our hotel fills up very quickly for university related events. "Great Ambience"

12/07/2017

The hotel has been constructed with beautiful stone work. The lobby and artwork is modern. Bathrooms are recently renovated. Rooms and bed are comfortable. There is a small business center off the lobby. The conference center is modern. Breakfast room has a nice patio. Food was typical Americana. The downside is no on site restaurant. Elevator is a long walk from the lobby. The first floor rooms face the parking directly.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi dziran, I absolutely love your pictures. Particularly the one of the newly remodeled conference center. I would consider using that as a promotional picture. "Clean and updated"

5
09/07/2017

This Best Western Plus was in a great location to see CU Boulder with our teenage son. The room was clean and quiet. The hot breakfast was great, especially compared to some other hotels that offer continental breakfast. The employees were all cheerful and helpful. The only tricky thing was finding it - you have to take a "frontage" road that runs parallel to the highway. It's a bit confusing to find!

"Always a pleasure!"

5
07/07/2017

While this hotel is an older hotel in Boulder, they have done a lot in the past few years to upgrade the rooms, lobby, breakfast area and fitness room. We come with a softball team the first week of July and have for the past 7+ years and the staff and hotel manager go far beyond the call of duty to honor our room requests and meet all our needs. We love our stay here every year and hopefully will for many more years to come.

"Late on Arrival"

4
06/07/2017

Well, we were only there for one night for a wedding the next day, but our flight was delayed 7 hours, so we only got to use the room for four hours of sleep in the morning before the wedding. The bed was very comfy. The staff were accommodating when we informed them of our delayed flight. The bacon was good, but the biscuits were cold.

"Good Location, Best Breakfast"

4
27/06/2017

The hotel is conveniently located and rooms are modern. Best breakfast we've had at any Best Western served in a roomy modern dining room. Breakfast included fresh berries, different egg dishes every day, pancake and waffle makers, croissant and other pastries and the usual hot and cold breakfast foods. Coffee to our liking could have been a bit stronger. Margaret was friendly and made sure everyone's needs were met. We did have a problem closing our room's door and noticed others had to bang their doors to close them. Also bath faucet was backwards - cold was hot, hot was cole. Rates were a bit high, but it's Boulder! Otherwise a comfortable stay.

"Enjoyable stay!"

26/06/2017

Upon checking in we were pleasantly surprised by how clean and modern the entire facility is. Juan at the front desk was great! Rooms were immaculate, pool was well cared for, even the landscaping was perfect. Great breakfast and good location. I would recommend to anyone and we will definitely book in the future when in Boulder.

"Convenient place to stay in Boulder"

4
22/06/2017

Pro - Very good location near UCBoulder campus. The outdoor amenities are excellent - a pool area with nice décor against the backdrop of the mountains with outdoor fire pits and separate hot tub room. Staff was very attentive. Con - the room was not as clean as I usually expect. Carpet is dated and the floor in the bathroom needed real cleaning - more than a broom. That could have just been bad timing - as my stay was the night after the hotel had been fully booked for a Grateful Dead concert, so there was likely a lot of partying in the rooms and the DeadHeads were late checking out so there was little time to turn over the rooms for check-in.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi cynthiamZ1242PX, Thank you for your positive words regarding the hotel. I am glad that you found it convenient when attending an event at the University of Colorado. "Great place to stay in Boulder"

5
19/06/2017

The hotel is convenient to the University campus (both main campus and Williams Village). The service is excellent -- friendly and helpful. The amenities are good -- the WiFi worked well and fast; the pool area was pleasant and comfortable; and the breakfast was good with a wide range of choices. (My only recommendation to the hotel: make the bacon a little bit crisper.)

"Very nice rooms, somehow overpriced, poor insulation to other rooms"

3
14/06/2017

The hotel had a nice pool, clean and modern rooms, and a nice patio. The one thing that was really not nice was the poor insulation to other rooms. I consider a quiet room one of the essential things when booking a hotel. We could easily hear the neighbours laugh and talk. Unfortunately this was rather early and late, and unfortunately one girl in there had a horrible laugh. Recognizing that this could have been different with other neighbours it still leave it to chance. Minor: Service was ok, but when I asked about possibilities to organize a shuttle bus from the airport I had to do that myself.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Glahn, I am glad that you enjoyed our outdoor pool. It goes down to a depth of 9 feet, and is heated to 84 degrees. There is nothing better than sitting in one of our new reclining pool chairs, watching the sun go down behind the mountains, being warmed by one of our fire pits. I hope that you had this experience. Regarding the rate. Our goal is to offer the most competitive rate of the upper mid-scale hotels. I believe that we accomplish this. Ari

"Perfect"

14/06/2017

No better place to stay in Boulder for events at Folsom Field. Don't bother looking just book here. Beatiful view of the Flatirons overlooking pool. Every comfort of home. See you next year, assuming Dead and Company return. Thank You for the wonderful stay.

"Great Place to Stay"

4
13/06/2017

This hotel was very clean and the staff was very professional and helpful while staying there. The hotel is clean, beds are great, and the amenities are what is needed. If you looking for a quiet and comfortable place to stay, this is a great place. The breakfast is your usual hotel breakfast, but the offering is large and you can get what you need without searching or spending time looking for a breakfast spot.

"Great Hotel Staff and Pool"

5
12/06/2017

Stayed here while in town for concerts Friday and Saturday. The staff was great and extremely responsive. The pool area was relaxing and the breakfast was good. I would suggest offering coffee in the lobby in the morning for those that just want a cup of coffee and not wanting to deal with the breakfast crowd, tickets etc. The only negative was that the per night rate was very high but that was most likely due to a couple big events in Boulder that weekend.

"Great hotel"

5
11/06/2017

We had an excellent stay here for three nights! The service is outstanding! The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding. Can't say anything negative about our experience at all!!! Will go back when in the area!

"NO HOT WATER!"

2
08/06/2017

If you're considering this hotel, there is only one thing you need to know. In the morning, THE HOT WATER REGULARLY RUNS OUT, leaving you to SHOWER IN COLD WATER! The reason I know it happens regularly that the front desk clerk told me so when I called at 7.30am to ask what had happened to the hot water. Quote: "when we have a lot of guests, there is sometimes not enough hot water" and "the owner is trying to fix the ongoing problem". From 7am to 9am during our stay, the water in the bathroom ran cold. Not even lukewarm. Cold. As far as I'm concerned, any positives about this hotel (and sure, the breakfast was decent and it's located well for the highway) are outweighed by the fact that they cannot guarantee a hot shower in the morning. That's a deal breaker.

"21st BDay"

08/06/2017

The Hotel was awesome. We had a large group and they accommodated us perfectly. We spent the morning gathered in the pool area after a great breakfast and visited. The breakfast room was lovely and the food was really great.

"Very Happy!"

5
07/06/2017

Very nice, clean, updated room, comfortable bed, very nice pool area. Fitness room was nice. Breakfast was outstanding. Dining area is very nice. Staff was very accommodating. We were thoroughly impressed with Best Western. We will definitely be looking to stay with Best Western when we travel.

"Very expensive stay in a below average hotel"

3
06/06/2017

There was nothing wrong with the room, it was of average size, clean with TV and coffee facilities. There was no mini bar, the view was into the carpark which was being developed, so noisy and dusty. The hotel does not have a bar. The breakfast was a disappointment, composed of your usual American calorie loading bacon, scrambled dehydrated eggs, corn syrup with pancakes/waffles. On the first day of our stay they had croissants but not again as apparently they get delivered on Fridays only. There was some fresh fruit, but again this would run out by mid morning. Not really good enough for $200+ per night price tag. If there were no options in Boulder and I had to have a room for the night, I would do it again but otherwise there are better options.

"Good, clean, convenient "

4
04/06/2017

This is our second stay here, this hotel is right across the highway from CU and surrounded by student apartments. 5 minutes away from Pearl Street. Rooms are good size, beds are comfortable, each room has a balcony, sink area has been updated. Friendly staff and a pretty good "free" breakfast.

"A simple gem"

27/05/2017

Newly renovated and modernized. Great location for transportation to/from airport and around Boulder. Good breakfast. Clean and comfortable room. Didn't use pool but looked nice. Very helpful staff throughout stay.

"Boulder Best Western, keep remodeling"

3
21/05/2017

Room was dingy, felt very exposed to street on 1st floor, door latch broken, overpriced, they are remodeling, breakfast and staff overall were great just an old hotel needs a lot of work. Great location for CU will always be in demand, they seemed to be trying hard.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Tom W, We recently completed a 2.6 million dollar renovation to the exterior of the conference center and the porte cochère. Our complimentary hot breakfast is now served in the private Chautauqua dining room every morning from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM. It sounds as though you were visiting the University of Colorado, directly across the street. I am glad that you found the location convenient. Ari

"Busy Time of Year But Still Pleasant"

5
16/05/2017

I am part of the BW Summit Club and the Inn let me know that they were taking reservations for graduation stays. If you know Boulder (college town), this is a very busy time when all hotels and inns book up way in advance, just like at the beginning of a school year. When I initially called to book a room with 2 queen beds I was told only rooms with a king bed were available. I asked to be put on a waiting list in case a queen room opened up and initially was told I needed to call in periodically to see if one opened up. I emailed a manager to be put on a list and was told she could confirm that I had gotten one. Thank you very much! The location is great, and rooms are clean and well maintained. There is a coffee maker, small refrigerator and flat screen t.v. in the rooms. One of the best things is the morning breakfast. Make your own pancakes or waffle, fresh fruit, an egg dish that changes daily, bagels, muffins, toast, yogurt, etc. Free parking is also a plus. This was a very busy weekend but every person who worked at the Inn that we encountered, from the front desk clerk to the housekeeping staff, was very helpful and pleasant. We really enjoyed our stay.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Jodie H, Thank you for your loyalty. On a nightly basis 42% of our guests are repeat. We are humbled by this. Also, thank you for your effusive review. 15/05/2017

We checked in on Saturday 5/8 for 2 nites. Lobby was clean, staff was very courtesy. Our room had a slight view of Flat Irons, which was very nice. Room was clean loved the Keurig on the room. Lighting for bathroom could have been better. Breakfast was very good. Gym was nice. Overall was a nice stay. I personally think the rooms are a little over priced though for what you get.

"Nice night at a clean motel."

4
14/05/2017

We stayed here for one night. The front desk staff was very friendly and professional. Check was handled very quickly. They explained the layout very well. The room was clean and smelled fresh. The bed was comfy and pillows just right. The pool area is awesome. Look very clean. The only reason not a five star is the hot tub does not work. That is what we wanted. Only one jet in a huge hot tub worked. They really should fix this or not lost it in their ad.

"Super Clean and what a breakfast"

5
26/04/2017

The staff were very cheerful and helpful. Everyone greeted me with a smile. The hotel was super clean and felt well cared for. I was here for a conference and the conference rooms were modest in size and a great space. Lots of usable amenities. I have been to many continental breakfasts in my time and this one is the best of them all. My first day they had eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce. The staff is friendly and be sure to bring you breakfast ticket. They are serious about that. Good stuff. I think the OJ had pulp in it too -which is great. I'll be back here.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at Best Western Plus Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Calista S, When we opened the new private guest dining room, one of our main goals was to have the best complimentary breakfast in town. Complimentary hot breakfast served 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM – Includes: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, juices, 3 cereals, English muffins, Moe's bagels, doughnuts, yogurt station, oatmeal station, assorted fresh fruit, coffee, and fresh Belgian waffles. "Just so,so"

3
26/04/2017

Clean, fair for the price, a 5-8 minute car ride to the center of town for restaurants, etc. No microwave in rm or on the floor, have to go down to lobby for that and a snack. No tea bags, no hot water available, just thru the Kureg machine. Most staff was not to helpful with directions, computer glare midday made if very difficult to see screen, ("yes we just got some complaints" - how could you not know this??). No brochures in lobby for things to do.

"Good value"

5
24/04/2017

Boulder is an expensive place overall, so this hotel was quite a bargain! It is easy to find, is convenient to shopping, restaurants, and CU, and offers an excellent hot breakfast. I would stay here again.

"A nice Best Western!"

4
23/04/2017

The recent renovation was an excellent move and we got the hotel for a great bargain at $110 a night. If you want a hotel where you can park the car ( for free) and leave it while you are in town this is it! They have embraced Boulder lifestyle with free bicycle loans. Its just 2 miles to pearl street by biking through boulder creek park and campus. Close to flatirons for hiking and campus is spitting distance so you can visit the CU museums by walking through campus from hotel. All the rooms have a patio or balcony. Ask for a sunrise facing balcony if you want to eat breakfast on your patio. Its not a five star rating because there are a few weird things. 1) A hole in the floor with a big cutout in the carpet shows that some work was done in the floor after the carpet was put down leaving the floor uneven. 2) The refrigerator had just one setting ( frozen on the bottom shelf, cold on the top shelf. We stayed 3 nights and tried a different frig setting each day with the same result. 3) The screen door doesnt latch into anything so their is a gap and bugs and animals can get in if left unattended. 4) As another review mentions, the boxspring mattress are not great but I have stayed at swankier places with worse beds. 5) the old bathroom and room doors have not been replaced so it reminds you you are still in a best western by I found it a silly juxtaposition to the renovations.

"We are glad we found this hotel in Boulder"

4
22/04/2017

We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. It is located less than a mile from our son's apartment so the location was ideal for us. We loved the complimentary breakfast every morning! Our room was clean and neat and comfortable. The hotel was very quiet.

"stay for conference on world affairs"

5
18/04/2017

stayed at best western in boulder, co with another lady friend to attend conference on world affairs at cu boulder, which is a free annual event with panel discussions on different topics concerning world events, politics, environment, etc. The hotel was very clean and very close to cu campus. I rode my bicycle to the events and really enjoyed it. The beds and pillows were especially comfortable. The free breakfast included hot items like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, along with fruit, bagels, etc. The coffee was good and strong like I like. Reservations--have to stay at least 3 nights to get a refundable room. I don't care for that. But highly recommend the hotel.

"Close but overpriced"

3
11/04/2017

I booked this reserrvation because it looked like it was walking distance to Boulder, but because it is along a very high wall next to a highway onramp, the mileage is misleading. The staff was very friendly. The rooms average. The roll away cot was truly the most uncomfortable thing I have ever slept on - big, wire coils in my back without much padding.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Jennifer V, The bulk of our guests choose the Boulder Inn because of our proximity to the University of Colorado, NOAA, NIST, NCAR, or downtown Boulder. As the closest hotel to the University of Colorado, our guests can walk across the street, or borrow one of our free bikes to explore campus. I'm sorry if you found the location inconvenient to where you were needing to be. We have made a true commitment to be the most competitively priced upper-midscale hotel in the Boulder market. If budget is a primary concern, I recommend exploring lodging outside of town which can tend to be 10-15% less than more conveniently located in-town properties. Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our hotel. Ari

"Death to box springs"

3
11/04/2017

I really wish hotels would figure out that box springs are the spawn of Satan. just a mattress on a platform is preferred - box springs make the bed move = one of us has to sleep in the floor. this hotel was not nearly as nice as the photos on the internet. the front entry and conference center are brand new, but the rest is pretty old and run down. the water pressure was excellent in the shower, but then the tub didn't drain... the bed was comfortable when I was the only one in it...

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi carriec800, Your dislike for box-springs is quite unique. Thank you for opening up, and sharing these rare, individual feelings with us. We recently spent 2.6 million dollars renovating the conference center, private dining room, and lobby. Positive guest reaction has been absolutely overwhelming. Our complimentary hot breakfast is available to all hotel guests every morning from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, juices, 3 cereals, English muffins, Moe's bagels, doughnuts, yogurt station, oatmeal, assorted fresh fruit, coffee, and fresh Belgian waffles. We have a 7 day rotating menu, so that our guests do not experience menu fatigue. We hope to see you next time you visit Boulder. Ari

"Great location, better value than comparable properties in Boulder"

10/04/2017

This hotel has one of the best locations if you need to be close to the University. Comfortable rooms, with a mini fridge and microwave. Front desk staff are consistently courteous, even friendly. Breakfast is basic but free so no complaints at all. There's been some construction going on for awhile but it's only during the daytime so shouldn't affect most travelers. Boulder hotel rooms can run a bit pricey, especially toward the beginning and end of the school year when demand is high from visiting parents. This hotel, however, tends to be the best value among 3-to-4 star places for its combination of location, room comfort and amenities (free wifi, pool, breakfast). This isn't a luxury place but if you're not spending a lot of time in your room, there's no reason in my mind to pay up for it.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi JustSayNoToSpiritAir, It sounds you were visiting the University of Colorado, directly across the street. Thank you very much for your kind words. I am glad that you found the front desk agents consistently courteous. They are some of the nicest individuals I have ever known. The Boulder Inn has made a commitment to be the most competitively priced upper-midscale hotel in the Boulder market. Thank you for recognizing that we have achieved this goal. It is not easy, but we strive. Please let me know the next time you come through Boulder. I am happy to help facilitate your reservation. "Good location, not that good at solving problems"

3
09/04/2017

When I checked in, the rate was higher than what we agreed to. The clerk couldn't change the rate in the computer or otherwise help. So, after flying and waiting in airports for 14 hours--right there at the check-in desk at 11:00 at night--I had to cancel the second and third days of my reservation, and then rebook through Expedia to get a lower rate. While the staff was all very nice, they just were not trained or empowered to solve problems. Even so, it is basically a nice place and located very near the university.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi 36halg, I am sorry if your nightly rate was not made clear to you upon check-in. The rate on your original reservation was an amortization of all three nights. When you cancelled nights 2 & 3 and rebooked on a third party, you rebooked at the same rate as the original reservation. Had I realized what you required, I would have been happy to get you whatever you needed. I believe that you were in town visiting NOAA. As the closest hotel to NOAA, many of our visitors are visiting scientists like yourselves. I hope that your meeting was successful. Please let me know the next time you come through Boulder. I am happy to help facilitate your reservation. I can be reached at the hotel, on my personal cell phone number 303-506-9859, or via email at [email protected] Ari

"Great Hotel in Boulder"

Excellent hotel in Boulder. Great location and service. Will stay again given the friendly staff, amenities and breakfast! Easy check in and check out - great for visiting University of Colorado at Boulder.

"Looks fantastic I didn't recognize it."

5
28/11/2016

I had stayed at this hotel in the past and my only qualm was the exterior but that is looking fantastic now. It must be what all the construction comments were about. Staff and room were fantastic. I decided to return because of the breakfast and it was better than I remembered.

"Great Boulder Stay"

We love this hotel for its professional and helpful staff. They seem to respond to each request as if it's as important to them as it is to the customer. The rooms are nice, the breakfast is fine and the location is great. We hope to carry on our tradition and return next year.

"Nice location, quiet, great value but construction is loud"

17/11/2016

Nice hotel, clean, and flexible. Great value for Boulder, and close to the campus we were visiting. The showers have great water pressure which was a real treat, coming from CA where there's a drought! The breakfast is included and there' a great selection. The staff is friendly and helpful and I'd stay there agin.

"AT LEAST THE BEDS ARE GREAT"

3
17/11/2016

The motel is OLD and seems to be constantly under construction. Our room was clean, the beds were good and shower pressure was great...the room just seemed dated and stale. The floor in our 1st floor room wasn't level and we almost fell a few times. I give it a "C-"

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi william h, We made a decision to spend nearly 2 million dollars renovating the exterior of our conference center. This building, adjacent to the hotel, is the home to two large conference rooms, and numerous corporate conferences. Part of the renovation project was to clad the exterior of the building in a modern material, as well as replace the glass doors leading into the building. Conference room attendees will be quite surprised to see the changes we have made. I am glad that you enjoyed your hotel room. Ari Rubin

"Great Best Western Hotel"

16/11/2016

We stayed at this hotel earlier this month. The hotel staff was very helpful from the start. The employee who checked us in asked us if there was anything he could help us with (restaurants, sights, directions). He took the time to give us a map and mark what we were interested in. He recommended an excellent Italian restaurant that was just a mile down the road. We loved the suite. It was roomy and comfortable. We decided (for an extra $20.00) to upgrade to a room with a fireplace. It was well worth it. Breakfast was good with a nice selection. We would definitely stay at this hotel again!

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi cindymichael2016, Thank you for your effusive review. How nice that you took the time and energy to express your delight with the hotel. We really appreciate it. It sounds as though someone recommended Carellis restaurant, around the corner. They have been voted the best Italian food in Boulder the last 6 years. I love their tiramisu. "Nice hotel, but an energy-waster"

4
14/11/2016

The inside of the hotel and the staff are very nice, but the outside is under construction. This makes it a little hard to find from the road, and some amenities are harder to access. For some reason, they leave all of the lights and the fan in the room on all day, wasting a lot of electricity.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi rebeccapP7282FU, Thank you for reviewing our hotel. We are the most solar powered hotel in Boulder County. Our solar panels provide 28,694 kWh of electricity production annually, and provide approximately 25% electrical needs. We are the only hotel in Boulder County to have 3 electric car charging stations. 82% of our hotel rooms have dual flush toilets, providing 0.8/1.28 gpf water use. We participate in a single stream recycling program through Western Disposal, allowing for aluminum cans, glass, bottles, tin, paper, plastic and more to be recycled together. In an effort to reduce the guest carbon footprint, bicycles are made available to guests at no extra charge. We have 97% LED light bulbs throughout hotel. Free RTD Eco Pass are provided to our employees, hoping that they will choose public transportation. All washable plates and bowls are used in our breakfast room, absolutely no styrofoam. We have completed a rigorous certification program by Green Key International. I'm sorry if these points did not come across during your stay. Ari Rubin

"Great Hotel...perfect location "

07/11/2016

Stayed at this hotel and all was great! Nice upgrades & modern. Nice view & location. Good selection for breakfast. Our room was clean, quiet & comfy. Friendly courteous staff. We would stay here again.

"Under Construction But Nice"

5
07/11/2016

They have modernized this hotel and the rooms were immaculate. Even though it is off a highway the fan ran all night on the AC and we slept great. Loved the lay out of the room and the comfort. The breakfast was amazing serving cappuccinos, espressos and more. Despite being under construction I can see how this hotel would be a great choice. It is also very close to everything Boulder.

"Great place to stay in Boulder"

5
05/11/2016

This Best Western was perfect for attending an event at Colorado University. Easy walking distance to the campus. Also, if you don't mind a short walk of a mile or two, it was walking distance to the Flatiron Mountains. I walked to the park and then did a beautiful hike on the Flatiron Mountains loop.

"GREAT LOCATION AND GREAT SERVICE"

5
04/11/2016

We were traveling with two dogs, and this place was great for them. It's just one underpass away from the campus, so plenty of space for the doggies to get some exercise. Everything in our room was clean and in good repair, the staff were all friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is far better than most. No complaints - would recommend - especially if you have hounds!

"Not up to BEST of Best western"

01/11/2016

The hotel needs somework and looks like they've acknowledged that piece. lots of remodelling going on but it doesnt seem to be a piece that will affect the guests happiness. The remodel of a conference room? really? 2 million dollars from what the response of managers have been? how about the carpets, mold in ceiline bathrooms, tile in bathrooms, or the super ghetto door locks that have no lights on in the middle of the night? ever heard of a room key? There is no coffee or water in lobby like every single other hotel I have been to has. Also still not ada compliant...even after this 2 million renovation, still not handicap accessible. I think that violates law. its 2016.

"Mold"

2
26/10/2016

There was mold in the bathroom ceiling. Clearly they had a water leak. Yuck. We were moved; however, they put someone else in the room immediately after they changed our room. Yuck again. I had prepaid and got a surcharge on the room after I checked out which was for something i did not use. I called to have them reverse the charge, which they did not do. Finally had to call Amex. Inedible breakfast food. Not staying here again if I can possibly help it. Also price gouging for the week I went. 300.00/night for a motel.

"Very weak customer service, terrible Wifi (useless)"

2
17/10/2016

Rude and inattentive front desk at check-in, and WiFi so bad you literally can't get anything done. Won't ever stay here again. They're doing a bunch of remodeling so the place looks bad. The rooms are nice enough, but the experience at check-in wasn't a nice start, and despite asking for WiFi to be looked at, it's still so weak and slow, it's impossible to get work done.

"Nice Follow up"

3
17/10/2016

The room was remodeled and nice. The housekeeping was a problem and we had a problem with the heater. But the real problem was after a pre paid deal we received a charge on our card afterwards. I called BW customer service and later on a Sunday afternoon the Manager came into work and called me to share what had happened and reversed the error. He really made the effort as did the BW customer service nationally. They made the best of what had happened. Overall we like this hotel. I think there are some housekeeping issues and some equipment issues to work on. But a nice facelift and great location.

"Ok"

3
14/10/2016

Nothing special but the room was clean and the price was reasonable. Not where you would go on a honeymoon, but you don't have to worry about becoming a sidewalk chalk drawing either. Decent if you come into town and need a place to sleep and take a shower.

"Friendly"

4
13/10/2016

Although there is some building works, during the day, it did not bother us. Was clean, friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was good and varied. They loan you bicycles for free but they are heavy and like little tanks. It is not far from lots shopping and restaurants.

"Okay location, under construction, nice staff"

3
12/10/2016

The hotel is under renovation, so a bit of a mess. The location was not bad. Best part about the stay was the staff. They were very good, quick responding, and available. The breakfast included was also okay. Even with the low temperature in the room at night, the bed was too hot.

"Under renovation--call first!"

3
11/10/2016

Overall this is a pretty nice property for a Best Western. However, it's currently under renovation (as of the week of October 3) so if you plan on spending any time in your room during day time hours, consider staying somewhere else if construction noise will be problematic! We just had a large group stay there and we unfortunately didn't find out about this until it was too late to make other plans. You also currently have to walk outside to get to the breakfast area, so consider that as well if you have mobility issues or if the weather is poor. Not sure how much longer renovations are planned for, so call first to find out!

"Close to Campus"

3
11/10/2016

The staff at the hotel was very helpful and pleasant. I selected this hotel because it was walkable to the CU Boulder campus. The hotel was located on a very busy street that was somewhat isolated but close to a Starbucks, Einsteins and Whole Foods. Next time I would probably stay near Pearl Street, closer to shops and restaurants. The rooms were fine and the beds had duvet covers:) The exterior of the hotel was under construction and the plans look nice. Our rollaway bed was very uncomfortable. The courtyard pool setting was nice. Breakfast was nice but it you want a good latte you will have to walk to Starbucks.

"Friendly, Great Location for CU Boulder"

4
09/10/2016

I have a student attending CU Boulder and this hotel is conveniently located with very polite staff, some beautiful views of the Flatiron Mountains and a great breakfast. It will be especially nice when the construction is finished.

"Drive a little, save a ton."

08/10/2016

Totally disappointed with this best western. I stopped in Boulder on my way to Denver...big mistake. I guess the owners think that since it's a college town and since parents' night was coming up, they get to charge $188/night for substandard accommodations. Granted, they were in the middle of a renovation, but the overall place was cramped, the room was substandard and WAY overpriced. I would imagine that after the adjoining eating area is finished, this place will try and gouge unsuspecting travelers with an even more outrageous price. Wife and I ended up at a Fairfield closer to the denver area the next day. $100 cheaper and much nicer. Stay away from Boulder. It's an overpriced small college town. Wade williams

"Difficult Stay"

3
05/10/2016

My stay at this hotel was difficult, to say the least. But let me start with the Good. The hotel has recently been renovated and for the most part it's lovely. The pool and surrounding deck is fantastic, with large comfortable lounge sofas and umbrellas. The pool is large for smaller hotels. The rooms also are quite nice and the beds are really comfortable. The lounge chair in my room was great, with a footrest that allowed me to kick back and take a nap. The bathroom area also was nice, with good amenities. The Bad. In the bathroom they should have paid more attention to the ceiling instead of slapping some putty over cracks and leak spots. Housekeepers should keep a bottle of Tilex on their belts. Also, what is it about hotel towels!? I can't stand the kind that are so rough they abrade your top layer of skin, like these did. And single-ply toilet paper? Come on, splurge a little. Housekeeping also was slow -- when I arrived back in my room at 4:00 p.m. after a long day my room still hadn't been cleaned. The Ugly. The power went out in the hotel at about 5:30 p.m. one afternoon and it didn't come on until 7:30 a.m. the next morning. Then it went off again at 11:30 a.m. Not once were the guests told what the problem was or when we could expect it to resolve. One by one we had to go to the front desk to get any information. Then, the front desk staff (more to follow) simply shrugged their shoulders. We weren't given any help, like flashlights or any other things that would help us get through a cold, dark night. We were left to fend on our own. We weren't given any advice on how to handle the situation, nor were we offered the opportunity to stay at another hotel for the night. The front desk staff -- except for Mitch, who was great, and a few of the young men also were nice -- was horrible. Not once did I receive an apology for the situation! They weren't helpful under any circumstances, whether the power was out or not. After the second outage I decided to get out of there to another hotel. Up to that point I hadn't complained to anyone, but I had had it. I went to the front desk and nicely said that enough was enough. I spoke to a young woman and a man who appeared to be the manager on duty. I told them that I was checking out, and that I expected them to refund my money and pay for the cost of another hotel. The woman looked at me with something short of disdain. The man was worse. He said that while they would refund a portion of my prepayment, under no circumstances would they pay for another hotel. I calmly said that this was unacceptable under the circumstances. He was adamant and rude. Again, neither one offered an apology for the fact that I (and the other guests) had been more than inconvenienced. Would I stay here again? Perhaps, given it's proximity to the University. Otherwise there are better hotels (with nicer staff) in Boulder.

"Rough start, but ended uneventful."

4
01/10/2016

Started out rough, but ended well. We arrived late from our flight in and when checking in we were told that our Twin room was ready, however I ordered and prepaid for a King so this was not acceptable. After some discussion, we were placed in a King suite, very acceptable. The next day while out I received 2 phone calls from the hotel stating that we needed to leave our room for maintenance (the shower needed caulking). I said I did not want to leave but was willing to have maintenance come in the next day while we were out and we would not need the shower until the following morning (24hrs to set the caulk), they agreed this was acceptable. We got back to the hotel that evening around 11 pm to find ourselves locked out of our room. When I approached the desk, they told me we needed to leave our room, or we could shower in the next room as the shower maintenance was already performed and the shower could not be used. I was livid, we were out hiking all day, tired and dirty and despite our earlier conversation, they decided to lock us out of our room anyway. To end this story, we took our keys to our room, we did not leave our room nor did we shower in the adjoining room (we did shower in our room). No other issues were encountered the remainder of our stay. Terrible customer service from this point however the remainder of our stay was uneventful. This hotel is largely used for University, so expect large groups of Students in and out depending on what is going on at the school.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi LovesItalia, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. It sounds as though you were upgraded to an over-sized room with a new marble shower. We have installed these in a few rooms, and guests really seem to enjoy them. I'm sorry if our maintenance team was adding extra caulk to the trim of the shower. I'm sure they were eager to make everything perfect. It sounds as though it would have been best if they waited until the room was vacant. I'm glad that you enjoyed the rest of your trip. Ari

"Awful staff"

2
29/09/2016

Had an awful experience with one of the front desk staff, I believe his name was Alex. He was very rude - didn't even acknowledge me when I walked up to the front desk because he was on his cell phone and seemed very annoyed when I asked for advice about things to do in the area. I also noticed him being rude to other staff members and my initial experience with him left an awful first impression on my stay. My experience would have been much better if I had been treated professionally by Alex. The hotel itself was expensive and not all that nice. Definitely wouldn't stay here again because if there is one thing that makes traveling unpleasant it is a rude staff.

"Construction zone beware"

2
26/09/2016

Booked a room here to visit my son at CU. Pricing is on high end in Boulder. They don't disclose that there is significant construction going on near the front. If you are staying at the back it won't matter but it is a pain to get into the breakfast area or pool/fitness and it is dirty and noisy up front.

"Meh!"

3
26/09/2016

We stayed here on our visit to Boulder. The location is good if you are doing things around campus and just a short drive to downtown and Pearl Street. The hotel is a bit tired and needs updating. There was some construction on the meeting rooms and breakfast area so maybe the update is coming as well. I can't say it was bad but I can't say it was great either. If I was to visit again, I would not stay here.

"Loud AC , no help from staff"

3
20/09/2016

We arrived late I was told no king room was available. Checkin wasn't a warm welcoming at all . I had to fill out a form , not like most hotels where you check your boxes ,sign ur name electronically .Only one elevator at the opposite end of building . No trash cans inside or out. AC was very loud, called front desk , the man said I will call maintenance tomorrow , I said that won't do me any good tonight, the noise is so loud it's hard to sleep. He never offered a solution never suggested anything for the present. Ugly view of construction going on outside. With workers very early in the morning . it's hard to get to, like a maze. Right beside the interstate. Your handed breakfast cards at checkin lady takes them before you can look, with no Goodmorning or directing you to their breakfast bar. Which was continental , fresh cut berries ,stale cinnamon rolls, fresh hot bacon , out of the microwave frozen burritos which was pretty good. I travel a lot , stay in a lot of hotels and I can tell you these pics on website are deceiving , look at mine and you will see, this is basically an old building with a bandaid , AC there is one overhead vent which shoots towards bedroom. No vents in hallway bathroom and the lighting is very dim . Ceilings are low, and show signs of leaks. Rusty door hinges painted over , old doors. Small frig. No microwave, I have to say the it was clean and bed was halfway comfortable. I looked at the pool looked like it might have had a coat of paint on bottom, the landscape is pretty. I guess what makes me want to give this hotel 3 stars is the deceiving pics, how can you have plus added on? You have a run down building (old plumbing old AC and heat ,duct work ,old roof)that should have been torn down but instead they put coverings over the old ,charge way too much ,, have bad customer service, they could have offered to move me to another room, and breakfast servers could have said something besides grabbing card to eat. $157 total that's way too expensive for this hotel . Would I stay here again , NO

We had a very nice stay at the Best Western Hotel in Boulder. I would recommend it for any stay. The breakfast was diverse with a different main course each day. Also, the staff was very friendly and courteous.

Hi April I, Thank you for your kind words. It sounds as though you were here with a group that had activities in the conference center. "College kids Run the show and it Showed"

12/09/2016

This was a low on our road trip. We arrived in an unexpected spring snow storm. The room was not sound proof, we had a lot of noise from the hall filter in. They were going to use special paint to resolve it, so it may be resolved now. A nice touch in room was complimentary bottled water and disposable slippers. We did not have full cable. When we checked in with the front desk we were told they were shoveling the satellite dish. I'm not sure if that was true, but that evening we still had basic cable. We were eager for the weather channel to see the forecast ahead. We had several difficult exchanges with one person at the front desk-young and unprofessional, a few too many drinks (did we mention college aged staff?). The details can be left to imagination, but in the end the management, which was new, handled things really well. Ignacio was great. He took down the details and explained we were not the first to have an issue with the new hire. He asked for details so that he could better train him. Ignacio represented the hotel well. You should know they are not set up to allow you to take breakfast to your room and the location is a bit awkward to find. Once you do you'll get the hang of it and find it is not too inconvenient to the pearl district-short drive. Other shopping and grocery like whole foods are nearby as well as the university. I think the management is very good but they have their hands full. I have nothing against them, but we had a college kid experience and not a typical best western professional at the desk. The noise is an issue, the room is average-needing one more layer of paint. In sum, it is an average place to stay but I believe the management was going to shape it up. The rooms were clean and comfortable with a small sitting area to relax.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Pixipants, I am happy to say that we have made some staffing adjustments since your visit. I believe you would be pleased with our work. It sounds as though you took advantage of our complimentary hot breakfast, served in our new private dining room. The breakfast is available to all hotel guests every morning from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, juices, 3 cereals, English muffins, Moe's bagels, doughnuts, yogurt station, oatmeal station, assorted fresh fruit, coffee, and fresh Belgian waffles. The hotel was clean, friendly and perfect for our one night stay. We had no complaints. I would stay again if we were passing through. The pool looked inviting but we didn't have time to give it a try.

25/08/2016

We booked this hotel based on reviews and our room was not in good shape. Our toilet was just a few inches from the wall, which made using it extremely odd. My husband is a contractor and he said it was out of code. The bathroom had missing grout, the air conditioner was leaking everywhere, the screen door feel off, the fridge was luke warm and there was a drawing of the male anatomy on the wall. We did let the staff know and they did give us a discount, but we were disappointed in our experience. This hotel is under construction. We usually aren't negative people, so I will give you the plus side as well. The pool and hot tub were very nice. The breakfast was good and the location was great.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Stanley1189, I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the location, directly across the street from the University of Colorado. I am also happy that you enjoyed our complimentary full hot breakfast which is available to all hotel guests every morning from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, juices, 3 cereals, English muffins, Moe's bagels, doughnuts, yogurt station, oatmeal, assorted fresh fruit, coffee, and fresh Belgian waffles. We booked here very last minute in a scramble to extend our trip by one night, so we went very early (10 am), and they checked us in right away. They were highly accommodating. Though I didn't get to take advantage of the pool, the room itself was very pristine, with a nice bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Very ideally situated near UC Boulder.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Sarah E, We are sold out on most nights, which makes it a challenge to check people in early. I am so glad that we were able to accommodate you. Thank you for noting how pristine the pool was. AMAZING STAFF!!! Good location near CU Boulder Campus. Clean & comfortable Wasn't so happy to discover it was under construction when I arrived but the friendly staff made up for it. They even remembered I only needed the roll-away for one night but called to confirm before removing it. The free breakfast meant a walk around the construction site but was more than I expected including specialty coffees and the breakfast room VERY nice and very clean!

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review

So convenient to walk to UC Boulder,. Close to 29th Street Mall for back-to-school shopping as well as Pearl Street Mall for sight-seeing, shopping and good choice of restaurants. Hotel is undergoing renovations, but did not effect us during our stay. Was very impressed with the included breakfast. Many items to choose from including make your own waffles, hot eggs, fresh fruits, cereals, bagels, yogurt etc. Even able to enjoy a latte or cappuccino. Will definitely return to this hotel.

I'm visiting in from Chicago... Needed a place to stay and this Best Western was a really good location. Not too far from all of the hikes that I'm going to do and places that I want to visit. Really cute hotel. Although, it is going through a bit of construction; a few dusty, dripping, nails showing... but this hasn't stopped this place from chugging right along! Garrett at the front desk was very accomodating and professional. I was tired and a bit out of it when we checked in, and he made things easier. The complimentary breakfast was deelish..and Miss Margaret G, cleared plates, refreshed coffee, eggs and other breakfast goodies-She made me feel comfy like I was at my Aunties for a bite. Everyone at the BWP-Boulder, thanks so much keep ip the good work. I'll definitely return.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Ada Z, One of the goals in the hospitality industry is to be your home away from home. It sounds as though through our staff and amenities, we were able to accomplish this. staff weak, hotel so-so. no hot water one night. staff comped room, but then another staff member questioned the comping. staff left room door open (no one around) when fixing the hot water. doing construction, maybe that will help.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Cliff Z, In order to repair a minor leak, we were forced to turn the hot water off from 1:00 PM to 3:17 PM. We very intentionally chose this time period because it is the time of the day where most of our guests are not in the hotel. I am sorry to hear that you were negatively affected by this. I can imagine how frustrating it must have been. Ari Rubin

09/08/2016

We booked a room here in August at top dollar - crazy top dollar - attempting to stay in Boulder for one night on a college tour. Apparently seasonality and local events were driving rates out of control. Drove up to find a very tired motel surrounded by noisy construction at the edge of a highway exit. Parking area is right in front of rooms with outdoor seating...parked right in front of someone uncomfortably reading a paper on her patio (sorry!). Pool area was surrounded by chipped, painted, sun-bleached concrete block with tired, faded furniture. It was an appalling disappointment for the price. Highway motel setting at boutique luxury price (really, I got a luxury room in Denver right next to the Denver Art Museum for less). No notice on the booking site about construction ( I booked on a famous site I used to trust - not Tripdavisor or Best Western's). The manager of the hotel tried to persuade me to see a room - I declined. After I stood my ground he refunded my non-refundable fee, told me that this website (rhymes with media) doesn't allow them to post construction notices, but said the best western site does note this.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi pleeseattle, You did not stay at the hotel, and you refused to see a room. This makes your critique more of a guess of what our product may or may not be like. In the future, I recommend giving something a chance before berating it. You may find that you have been missing out on all kinds of things in life. Ari

"Overall good"

09/08/2016

The construction made the place a bit unsightly, but the rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable. It is an older hotel that has been remodeled and made much nicer than it probably was originally - more upscale, modern appearance of furnishings. The trim and hinges on the door frames are showing their age, you can see wear and tear on those structural items, but the furnishings are nice, new and clean. The free breakfast is really good! Good choice of items, well prepared, fruit, yogurt, waffles, cereal, latte, & more.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Julius J, Thank you for understanding that most of the renovation project does not affect the guest touch points. The renovation of the conference center is primarily just an eyesore. We really appreciate your understanding. Please let me know the next time you come through Boulder. I am happy to help facilitate your reservation. "Love this place and it is about to look even better!"

05/08/2016

Stayed here several times before, visiting CU campus – which is in walking distance – or seeing old friends in town and always had a pleasant experience. Our rooms were always neat and clean, love the big screen TVs, the Keurig coffee machines and the breakfast is just great but the number one thing that makes us keep coming back is the staff! It's nice to be able to have a peace of mind while traveling. Never had any issues here and any questions or requests were always quickly answered or accommodated. Front desk and staff in general is knowledgeable and genuinely helpful! Always loved the look and feel of this hotel and now with the exterior face lift it is going to look even better. Can't wait to see the new look next time we're in town. An added perk summertime: a very relaxing pool area!

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi ogoldusa, Thank you for recognizing that the renovation project that we are currently completing, is for you. "Wonderfully Friendly Staff and good location"

05/08/2016

I was at the University of Colorado for a conference stayed at the Boulder Inn for 2 nights. The staff - desk, housekeeping and breakfast - were all happy and friendly. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was huge. I had to work in the evening so having good internet and a comfortable desk was important. There are several restaurants close-by and the south end of the University is about 10 minutes walking. I took the airport bus and there was s top about 400 or 500 yards from the hotel (Baseline and Broadway).

"Don't do it"

01/08/2016

We came into Boulder late on Sunday July 30 (or was it the 31st). Checked out the prices at the Harvest House Millienium (which we generally stay at). Thought we would save a few bucks and stay at Best Western. Prices for two nights were in close proximity 36o.oo at Best Western. Would have been 400.oo at Harvest House on 28th. Which is a much better place. So much construction here, no T.V. service. Here with my 88 year old mother and 29 year old daughter. Would have left but did not want to move my mother again. She cannot get through the very small doorways to the bathroom with her walker. They are really small doorways. So we have to walk her very carefully through. The commode is for really short people. You feel like you are about to fall on floor. One would think they would give a bit of a discount (Ignacio the manager, curt and cold) when their TV's are not in working order or the place is under serious reconstruction. Don't do it Spend the extra 50 bucks and stay at the Millennium Harvest House. Better rooms, pool and much friendlier service. Seriously.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Kathleen G, I am very sorry to hear of your 88 year old mother's mobility challenges . I can imagine how frustrating that must be. I hope the next time you visit Boulder, you are able to find a situation that can better accommodate her special needs. Ari Rubin

"Don't stay here"

31/07/2016

Under construction, rooms not ready at check in time( waited with 4 tired children under 5-20min), scattered our 5 rooms all over property, 2 queen beds instead of requested King, tv control doesn't work, and air conditioning bad in 3 out of five rooms, breakfast cold, and faucet handle in one bath came off. Poor customer service at check in desk. Nothing plus about this place.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Carol P, Our check in time is 3:00 PM All five of your rooms were checked in at 2:15 PM. I'm glad that we were able to get everyone checked in 45 minutes early. It sounds as though your stay did not meet your expectations, and for that I am sincerely apologetic. Ari Rubin

Nice hotel. We were a little uneasy at first because there is construction going on here and next door but it didnt effect our stay. Great breakfast with latte machine, nice pool furniture, Keurig in room. Ask for a mountain view room on second floor. Beautiful view from personal balcony!

"Close to campus"

3
30/07/2016

We chose this hotel because it is very close to the CU campus. We spent a very quick night there and found the beds comfy and the hotel generally quiet. There needs to be closer inspection of the cleaning though. There were beer bottle caps on the floor of our room when we checked in. Yuk. They allow pets at no charge which was a bonus for us and our well behaved pooch. Althoughh there was a lot of construction around the property, it was surprisingly clean outside. There is a free breakfast too but we left too early to take advantage of it. They should do a grab and go option like other chains.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi COMom45, It sounds as though you were visiting the University of Colorado, directly across the street. As the closest hotel to CU, a great deal of our visitors are campus related. I'm sorry if you experienced housekeeping challenges. Thank you for your nice words on the exterior of the property, as well as the great breakfast. Ari Rubin

26/07/2016

Although undergoing renovations to the conference space the hotel was perfect. The rooms are new and clean, the staff was awesome: the reception staff and the great lady running the breakfast room. The breakfast had enough extras to make it above average (actual croissants and regular as well as Greek yogurt!) and the room is nice.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Ellen B, Thank you for your pleasant and positive words. I'm glad that you enjoyed the Greek yogurt. We attempt to give our guests as much variety as possible. "Disappointment "

2
25/07/2016

When booking directly with the hotel they failed to mention that construction was going on next door. The sound was annoying. The Internet was so slow I reverted back to my 3G option. The shower design in our room was poor. The greeting staff when we arrived were marginal. Pros: The bed was comfortable and the breakfast offered a little more variety than many others. Wish we had booked earlier with the Hyatt Place.

"Exceeded expectations!"

5
24/07/2016

I spent 3 nights over July 4th weekend. When I saw the outside of the place I was a little disappointed as it is only 2 stories and there was some construction next door. However, my disappointment quickly turned to "don't judge a hotel by the outside" experience. The room had a very comfortable king size bed with a super quiet refrigerator. The bathroom (and entire hotel) was immaculate and spacious with comfortable towels and good water pressure. The staff was exceedingly pleasant and very helpful. The breakfast was good with something for all tastes. The room did have a coffee maker as well. By the way, small goodie bag was waiting in my room with chap stick, a snack bar, and a small gatorade. It was perfect after a long day of traveling. The courtesy rental bikes (and helmets) were wonderful. I did not use the pool but other guests seemed to enjoy it. It looked very clean. Great location for a visit to UC-Boulder. By the way, housekeeping, front desk and breakfast staff were all outstanding!

"Average at Best"

"My favorite hotel, bar none"

5
22/07/2016

I'm a regulator visitor to this hotel, and I love it. The staff are well-trained, friendly and helpful. On this trip, I really appreciated the way Jon offered to move me to my favorite room after the first night, and took care of moving my stuff while I was out during the day. The decor is lovely. I love the work by local artists that adorns the rooms and public areas, particularly Ryan Schwede's fabulous photographs. A nice touch: fresh orchids in the hallways. A nice feature (also available at other Boulder hotels) is that a local real estate company offers free bikes to borrow at the hotel. They deserve a plug, I guess: Pedal to Properties.

"Convenient, but I'd not repeat if there were other options!"

20/07/2016

Very good, helpful staff; good breakfast spread. Lots of construction in the property and next to it; very dusty. Always Stale & Musty smell from carpets, even though it was dry summer. Convenient, but hard to say I would repeat.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Bitasta C, We are expected to finish the second phase of a $3 million dollar renovation on August 11th. This phase includes the exterior of the lobby, conference room building, and porte cochère. The interior renovation, some of which included tripling the size of the lobby; converting a restaurant space to our guest exclusive breakfast room; resurfacing the pool area and hot tub room; and creating a new elevator has already been completed. Although the guest touch points are not affected, I'm sorry if you found any of this visually unappealing. Ari Ari

I stayed as part of a small tour group. The hotel staff were well prepared for our arrival so checkin was simple. My room was great. Nice pool and spa and the hotel is conveniently located to major roads. To top it off the hotel serves an excellent breakfast and is well served by restaurants within walking distance.

"Overpriced"

2
20/07/2016

This hotel is what you expect with brand name Best Western, all is budget except the price. Location is convenient to campus but that is the only positive on the location. Rooms have recently been remodeled, exterior screams for a remodel as well. I booked based on prior reviews and was disappointed. If you really need to stay near campus I'm not sure where to stay. When I return I will stay in Denver, it's only a 35 minute drive. I will attempt to post the view of my $259 "quiet" room. Additionally construction everywhere meaning at and next to this place.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi yreme, It sounds as though the price you paid was the driving force behind your negative feelings. During the summer months, lodging in central Boulder is at a premium. For budget oriented prices, I recommend staying 10-20 miles outside of town. There are many fine hotels to choose from, and all that the town has to offer can be made available to you within a 1/2 hour drive. Regarding the exterior of the hotel, we are currently at the tail end of a 3 million dollar remodel. Brinkman Construction Inc. was hired to transform the exterior of the conference area, and the project has an estimated completion date of August 11. Ari

"mainly a construction site"

2
17/07/2016

The hotel was difficult to find--in part because of ongoing construction both at the hotel and adjacent properties. Airport Limos could not make the turns because of the construction--but no convenient place to park to check in without blocking entrance. Check in was a problem because the computers were down. Assigned to a room adjacent to the pool only to walk in on someone else assigned to the room (in bed). New room on second floor overlooking construction area. Motel seems dated . Breakfast room under construction so no rest room facilities available there or in the lobby. Room did seem clean. Computers down at checkout two days later. Still waiting for a bill--although credit card promptly charged. Location was convenient. Did not try to use internet because of computers being down

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi 701madhatter, We are currently on the tail end of the second phase of a $3 million renovation, expected to be completed by August 11th. This phase included work on the exterior of the lobby, conference room building, and porte cochère. Interior renovations have already been completed. I understand your frustrating in viewing the renovation fence when you arrived at the hotel. Although the majority of the work is being done to a building adjacent to the hotel, I agree that it is not visually appealing. I hope the next time you come to Boulder, you stop by to see the fruit of our labors. Ari

15/07/2016

The hotel and surrounding buildings are undergoing a bit of a face-lift/construction, but don't let that deter you. The staff is accommodating, the rooms are clean, the breakfast is good (and free), free use of bikes, close to the bike/running paths, accessible, free internet, quiet, and good price. Our second stay and we weren't disappointed either time.

"Not Good..."

I had just left a Denver 5 star hotel and was sickened by my experience at this hotel which is barely 2 stars in my opinion. First and foremost, they do not offer any cribs. They made us call an outside company for a baby crib. Shocking! And when pressed, I was told it was due to liability? What a cop out. Every hotel offers a crib! Next, on to the tiny room that smells of damp feet. Poor amenities and the whole property is under heavy construction. Regrettably I was informed that the GM is extremely cheap and does not even provide his staff with working computers. Not surprising after my stay. Do yourself a favor and steer clear. Much better establishments for the decerning; and much cheaper for the budget conscious.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi SDSHRINK78, You purchased a room on Priceline, which does not guarantee the number of beds in the room. When you arrived at our hotel with a total of 6 people for the room, we arranged to get you a room with two queen beds. When you requested a crib, we arranged for a crib to be delivered to you within one hour. We thought that we had been successful in meeting all of your unexpected needs. We are very excited about the renovation of our conference center, an ancillary building adjacent to the hotel. I am sorry if the fence was visually unappealing to you. Ari Rubin

"Moldy, smelly & broken"

12/07/2016

Completely shocked by the good reviews. Visiting CU so wanted to be close to campus. Room is dark, cramped & worn. Air conditioning barely worked, leaving us hot and uncomfortable the entire time. It was 78* the first night (sold out hotel made it impossible to switch rooms). The staff was friendly & attempted to make us comfortable. Switched our room the next night to a building where the musty/mildewy smell in the hallway was awful and the smell in the room even worse. Air conditioning in that room a little better, but not much. Boulder is completely sold out right now or we'd be checking out. Stay elsewhere.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi, You wrote: "Switched our room the next night to a building where.." We only have one building. There are many other hotels in Boulder that have multiple buildings, but this hotel is only one building. We are unaware of any occurrence that matches the experience you described. If you would like to provide us with your name or room number, I am happy to investigate further. Wherever you stayed, I'm sorry that you did not enjoy it. I sincerely hope the next time you visit our great city you have a better experience. Ari

The room was crowded and dark, but clean. They are doing construction so that likely impacted our impression of the hotel in general. The free breakfast had a nice selection. Close enough to Pearl Mall to make for an easy drive. If staying in the area again, I would look for a different hotel especially considering the price.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Bev41, Thank you for taking the time to review the Boulder Inn. I'm glad that you enjoyed the breakfast selection. Most hotels in Boulder do not offer a complimentary breakfast. The Boulder Inn provides all guests will a full hot breakfast of: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, juices, 3 cereals, oatmeal station, yogurt station, Belgian waffles, English muffins, bagels, doughnuts, assorted fresh fruit, and coffee. We believe it is a wonderful amenity, and I am glad that you agreed. Ari

"Best pool oasis!"

11/07/2016

I live about 25 minutes away, and work very close to this hotel. I needed a quick getaway for my daughter and I. I wanted an outdoor pool and looked all over the front range for ideas. It may seem silly to stay so close to home, but the pool area here was wonderful. It is walled in with cushioned couches, umbrellas and a nice water feature against one wall. The mountains show above the walled area, and it could have been anywhere USA. The pool was great for my 8 year old and I could relax in the shade. Our hotel room had a patio door that opened directly to the pool area, which for having a kiddo was perfect!

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Paige, We should have you help with our marketing. I absolutely love the phrase "pool oasis". That is exactly what it was built to be; an oasis in the city. To be a place where you can relax after a day of hiking or business. We have a beautiful bubbling fountain that makes a soothing sound. We have 2 fire pits that provide warmth on cool summer nights. The pool area is an absolutely fantastic place to sit and watch the sun go down behind the Rocky Mountains. I'm glad that you enjoyed it so much, and thank you for letting others know what a great "pool oasis" it is. Please let me know the next time you come through Boulder. I am happy to help facilitate your reservation. I can be reached at the hotel, on my personal cell phone number 303-506-9859, or via email at [email protected] Ari Rubin

For the price this hotel was in a great location to visit UC. It's only a 12 minute walk to get to campus. The rooms were clean and spacious. Service was friendly and attentive. Breakfast in the hotel was surprising good and had a nice selection.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi JBSB50, I hope that you had a great visit to the University of Colorado across the street. In the past year CU has hosted the Republican debates, Jane Goodall, and the His Holiness the Dalai Lama. We stayed for a quick night on our way to Rocky Mountain National Park. The hotels is close to shops, restaurants, and the route to the mountains. There was some construction and remodeling taking place but overall not too bad. They also had free breakfast always helps when traveling.

28/06/2016

We stayed in The BW+ in Boulder for four nights and we were impressed by the room size, cleanliness, the pool and the hot tub. But most importantly we loved the service from the staff. Particularly, Jon, Seamus and Dylan at the front desk were exceedingly friendly and helpful, even suggesting breweries to make sure we didn't miss. They made a good hotel a great hotel. Thanks guys.

"Outstanding service"

26/06/2016

The entire front desk staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful during our stay. I have never experienced such a friendly staff. Great with dining suggestions and directions and recommendations for activities. They have bikes for guests to use (free) complete with locks and helmets. The hotel is close to bike paths. The bikes were super comfortable and easy to ride. Free internet, nice pool area, great breakfast. The outside appearance of the hotel is not the greatest, but it was clean and very comforable. CSU is 5 minutes away and Pearl street an easy 15 minute bike ride.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Jenz608, Thank you for your stellar review. I am so glad that you were able to take advantage of our free bike loaner program. A few years ago, I stayed at a hotel in Verona Italy that offered bikes. What an amazing way to explore an unknown city. A car is great, but a bike really puts you face to face with the people in the community. Please let me know the next time you come through Boulder. I am happy to help facilitate your reservation. "Value for the money"

24/06/2016

This is not th best facility in Boulder but it provides the value for the money. I like the free breakfast offered by Best Western Inn. The only issue it's closer to a main road and navigation might give misleading instruction to get into their driveway.

"HORRIBLE!"

1
23/06/2016

First of all, do NOT rely on the pictures on their website. The hotel looks NOTHING like the pictures. It is mostly under construction. I was there for about 13 hours on a quick work trip. I had to get 3 sets of keys to enter my room as they were never activated correctly. Once I got to my room, the carpet was disgusting and sticky. I wore socks the entire time. The walls/doors are very thin and it was very noisy. The turn lock on my door worked half way so I did not feel safe at all. The kicker: I have a reservation with them again for another work trip and I have been working with SW (as I booked through them) and they cannot get a Manager to call back. We've tried reaching them 4 times now and nothing! All around not a great experience and they are very unprofessional! I do NOT recommend staying here!

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi christina m, I am sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction. I travel frequently, and I very much understand how one bad thing can spiral out of control. I have had this experience, and I have great empathy. Although it was a non-cancellable reservation. We were happy to cancel your future reservation without penalty. We contacted Southwest Airlines very early on and took care of everything. I hope that you will find a hotel in Boulder that brings you the experience you are searching for. Ari

"Amazing Best Western!!!"

20/06/2016

When one thinks of a Best Western, no one would think of DirecTV with DVR in each room. Extremely soft and inviting bed. Slippers in the room. I felt I like I was staying at a Las Vegas Hotel. Once the final touches are done on the re-model, they sure will sell out everyday.

"well run, equiiped and managed"

Very well kept, clean and comfortable. Not a fancy exterior or location but all the little details, glass not plastic water glasses, mugs for coffee, great pillows were right. Very efficient and courteous staff, clean and efficient. Close to major rooads, but noise not a problem.

"Pricey but nice"

16/06/2016

Yea, a bit hard to get to, no biggie. Our room had a view of an apartment building being built. Rats. 2 queen room was fairly small but clean & quiet. Beds were fine. TV a bit confusing to run, no weather channel :( WiFi worked great. A/C kept the room 68° in 90+ heat just fine. Didn't go in the pool but looked clean and was in use. Did use the hot tub. Plenty warm, doesn't bubble a lot but acceptable. Breakfast in adjoining building under construction wasn't the best. The hockey puck egg patty wasn't good. Bacon was. Fruit & the usual other breakfast goodies. $220 for a generic room was shocking but seemed to be the norm in Boulder. Picked BW as it looked nice from the pictures and was pet friendly. Could have spent lots more, this was just fine.

"Don't be fooled by the construction - great motel"

5
09/06/2016

We drove in on 36 and saw the motel but had a hard time negotiating the road construction and motel construction to get parked. We found a nice lobby with helpful people at check-in. The room and beds were comfy, and there was a balcony which might be enjoyable when the construction right outside is completed. The sink is separate, just outside the bathroom. The breakfast was EXCELLENT! Fresh fruit, hot food, a big variety. Almost anything you'd like to have for breakfast. And good coffee!

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi drivinexplorer, Thank you for your wonderful review. I am sorry if the road work in the area was a hindrance. It sounds as though were able to navigate to the hotel, and have a great visit. "Hot and Noisy but great staff"

09/06/2016

Stayed for one night - the outdoor pool was dirty and the pumps/filtration were not working . The hot tub water was too low for the water to circulate and filter. Our room wouldn't cool below 75 degrees and we ran the AC all night. No refrigerator in room was inconvenient. Construction next door starts early and is loud. On the positive, the staff was pleasant and helpful. The bathroom was large and modern and the little patio off the room was pleasant for sitting. Coffee pot was new and stocked with variety of k cups.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Brian S, I'm sorry to hear that your stay that did not meet your expectations. I have experienced this in my travels, and I know how frustrating it can be. All ninety-nine of our rooms have refrigerators. I'm sorry that you were unable to locate the one in your room. Perhaps we need to do a better job pointing them out to guests. Thank you for your kind words on the staff as well as the large bathroom and pleasant patio. Ari

Rooms were nice, breakfast buffet was great. Large hot tub and heated pool. Staff very friendly and accomodating. I'd stay here again. I was able to walk almost anywhere in Boulder. There are restaurants nearby and the University, and bikes to rent everywhere.

"Great weekend and Location"

31/05/2016

We were worried since we hadn't stayed at a Best Western before but it was beautiful weekend at a great hotel. I don't know if all Best Westerns are this nice but from check in to check out everyone was so nice and made us very happy we choose to stay here.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi 952darrellb, Thank you so much for your wonderful review. A few years ago, the Best Western chain began using a descriptor program to differentiate between the different type of properties. "graduation/vacation trip"

5
30/05/2016

our main purpose for picking this hotel was because it is walking distance to the university. Our sons graduation was the main reason for our trip. Its very easy to get to the university. Desk person was very helpful on directions. Room was very clean. The continental breakfast was wonderful. Lots of hot choices and different every day. The maid service starts cleaning rooms very early. They were in the hallway around 8:30 every morning. So if you are a late sleeper use your Do Not Disturb sign on door. I needed a hairdryer one night and they had it at our room in under 30 minutes. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

"Customer service above and beyond"

5
29/05/2016

There was outside construction on the conference building that was unplanned. Our 4-day class was interrupted by workers and noise. The hotel staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, giving us alternative meeting spaces that made it all work out. The exterior of the hotel is not very pretty, but the interior is beautiful, I especially loved the inspirational posters hanging in the hallways.

"Nice but has problems"

3
28/05/2016

There certainly are advantages to this hotel and their staff was pretty good. Currently there is construction right next to the hotel so noise begins early and lets up around 5pm. But beyond that I have three complaints: 1) when the air conditioning was off the room had a terrible smell; 2) while two bottles of water were left on the night table in my room each day, I somehow was charged $6.00 for the three bottles I drank. Charged for water in the hotel room? If I had known I would have drank from the facet.; 3) at breakfast the eggs all had milk and/or butter in them which I cannot eat, so I asked if for the following mornings they could make two hard boiled eggs for me. They said no.

"great stay"

5
27/05/2016

nice staff, good pool, jacuzzi and great breakfast that changes it's hot food selection :) this place has been remodeled WELL--no half done remodel. Probably the Best Best Western Plus I've stayed at. Loved the first floor with the patio doors for our pooches. $50 pet deposit only, no fee for our two traveling labs. Great location and close to downtown only suggestion would be to have pool towels at the pool and not the front desk.

"very friendly staff"

5
26/05/2016

This was a wonderful stay. The staff were both helpful and friendly. The room was clean and quiet. I recommend this hotel to others. I also liked being able to walk to Whole foods for lunch and other restaurants for dinner for the location.

"Good location! Very nice staff!"

4
22/05/2016

Stayed at this hotel for 10 days for a conference in the hotel. The staff was very nice and the breakfast each morning was very good. I had some problems with my first room. It was very loud on the first floor and my toilet didn't work. On the 4th day they were able to switch me to a 2nd floor room that was much better. Disappointed that Best Western did not credit me the rewards points. Besides that would stay again.

"Best breakfast ever!!!! Close to CU Boulder"

5
17/05/2016

Stayed in a room facing the pool with 2 queen beds. Very comfortable bed and linens. Coffee maker and fridge in the room. Towels were soft and very absorbent. The bathroom set up was nice: sink across from closet. Shower and toilet in a separate room with door. Plenty of hangers and 2 suitcase floor racks. Complimentary breakfast was FABULOUS---as good as home cooked. There was fresh cut fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, all kinds of toasting items, muffins, oatmeal, biscuits/gravy, coffee, juices, and a special coffee maker to get "custom" coffee. The breakfast workers were very friendly and helpful. You are given a breakfast "ticket" at check-in; just give it to the ladies when you come in for breakfast. The room is nicely laid out - plenty of space, lots of tables, TV with news on at a reasonable level of sound.

"Great Breakfast"

07/05/2016

Very good experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved the breakfast buffet. The rooms were very clean. Our stay was three nights. There was construction going on right outside our room on a new building next door and it was noisy during business hours but we were usually not in the room at these times.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi lorisD2946ET, Thank you for your kind words on the breakfast buffet. Two years ago, we built a brand new private dining room for our guests. We spared no expense, decorating it with marble, and high end furnishings. The most important part is the food. Each morning, 3 staff members make sure that the largest, and best complimentary hotel breakfast in Boulder is well taken care of. Thank you for noticing everything we do for you. The front desk staff, Stephanie and Alex were very helpful and professional. I had difficulty sending a timely and very important FAX. They were persistent and resourceful until we got it done. Then I could relax and enjoy my stay. The breakfast was good. Hot Waffles and scrambled eggs. The Latte machine was also good. I joined their Summit Club, which affords CU parents perks. I will stay at this property again. Karol W.

"Perfect place in Boulder "

5
26/04/2016

This place was better than I ever expected. My boyfriend and I last minute switched from Breckinridge trip to Boulder trip and they were able to match a rate I saw online. View from the mountains from most room, a beautiful pool area and a great indoor jacuzzi! Everyone is so friendly, the two staffed at the front desk both during the day and at night were so helpful with things to do around the town; and one of the guys even gave us suggestions for when we got to Denver! The breakfast isn't amazing but the service and variety make up for it! Thanks for being awesome Best Western!

"Great hotel"

Close to campus short walk to Boulder Creek , staff courteous and rooms with view of pool are great. Recommend for families , free breakfast was a great bargain. Love the new indoor /outdoor fireplaces in the lobby and breakfast room.

"It is hard to find"

5
22/04/2016

The rooms are large and mine had a balcony. They have an outdoor pool and a hot tub. The hot tub requires going outside to access. The breakfast included eggs benedict and the hollandaise sauce was the expensive looking deep yellow kind. They have free bicycles to lend out. They were replacing carpet in the hallways showing that they want to keep it up,

"On the Main Drag but tricky to get to"

4
19/04/2016

Hotel is located on a service road along the main road into Boulder. It is close to CU but the write up on the Best Western website makes it seem as though it is next to the main attractions (29St Mall and Pearl Street)...it is not. Both are lengthy walks and for most people probably a short drive is the way to go. Hotel staff are extremely professional in attitude and attire. Rooms are well appointed with better than average sized bathrooms and each room has its own balcony. A solid choice when visiting Boulder.

Staff was very professional and helpful-they were young collage students but knew their job AND showed they liked it. Breakfast was great-well set up and tasty. "Good breakfast room: avoid room 201"

3
11/04/2016

The reception area is large and comfortable, and the check in process was professional. The room we had was ok, but it was above reception and the check in process could be heard easily, particularly the front desk staff. Fortunately, nighttime was quiet. The room was also next to the stairs, which meant all the guests on the same landing walked by your door. The beds were good but the lighting in the room was poor; if you wanted to read in bed, there was just one light between the two beds. The basin area was cramped. Breakfast was above average, as was the the room in which it was served, and was available until 10am. Fresh fruit cocktail was welcome. Walking into town is not really possible, it is over two miles, along busy, noisy multi lane roads

Hi clarksdale, Many people specifically request room 201. We have one guest that has been staying in that room once a year for the past 8 years. It sounds as though it did not fit your needs. The next time you stay here, please let us know your exact needs, and we will do our absolute best to match you with a room that is a perfect fit. You mentioned that breakfast was above average. We are aiming for much higher than above average. We are aiming for excellence. Our breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, juices, 3 cereals, English muffins, Moe's bagels, doughnuts, yogurt station, oatmeal, assorted fresh fruit, coffee, and fresh Belgian waffles. The private Chautauqua dining room seats 52 people, and boasts a 33 foot solid granite buffet, state of the art coffee machine offering over 60 different hot beverages, hand crafted gas fireplace, and (2) 60 inch plasma tvs. Please let me know the next time you come through Boulder. I am happy to help facilitate your reservation. I can be reached at the hotel, on my personal cell phone number 303-506-9859, or via email at [email protected] Ari Rubin

This is a large, lovely, affordable hotel that welcomes pets. The common rooms are light and airy and the hotel rooms are large and well-appointed. Every staff member we encountered was smiling and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.

"Travel Ball Trip"

11/04/2016

Stayed here as we had a tournament in Boulder. Location was close to lots of food and ball fields. Hotel exterior looks a little worn but the inside is updated and nice. Great staff. Breakfast was decent, options for everyone. It is a little pricey only because it's in Boulder. Beds were soft, pillows overly soft thus unconformable for me. Pool was not filled which we did not know about. AC was being fixed which we did not know about until we were in our room. They had fans for use. We will stay there again.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Robin M, We opened the pool this week. It is absolutely beautiful. The water is heated to 84 degrees, with a depth of 9 feet. At nighttime we have 2 fire pits that provide warmth and elegance. I hope that you have a chance to experience this. Please let me know the next time you come through Boulder. I am happy to help facilitate your reservation. "Very basic hotel"

3
11/04/2016

Stayed for leisure for one night. Hotel is dated and very basic. Room could have been cleaner and bathroom sink did not drain properly. Room service came at 8:00am which seems quite early. Breakfast was very basic and coffee diluted. Not a horrible experience but would look for alternative if I returned.

"Great for college visit"

10/04/2016

The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Staff was very helpful and knew the area well. The location was ideal for our purpose, which was to see CU Boulder and experience the area. Walk to CU Boulder campus!

"Family vacation"

3
09/04/2016

Was here with my family for a weekend . Unfortunately they didn't have the cribs for babies. But they offer us a number of a company that rents them. The walls in rooms are thin, so you can hear clearly what you're neighbors are talking about. Breakfast was nice, they offered mixed fresh berries, that's rare in the hotels in USA. Not very near to downtown. But you can go there by the foot in 50 min. and have a good hike because the city is near mountains so in the street you go up or downhill always.

"Graduation Trip"

09/04/2016

We stayed at this hotel in December 2016 to attend a graduation ceremony. It was perfectly located, the rooms are fabulous, and the staff more than helpful. The breakfast service was plentiful. I will definitely stay at this hotel when we return for visits to this beautiful city.

"Not great"

08/04/2016

Not a great experience since the heat at night made it difficult and sometimes impossible to sleep for all 4 nights that I was there. The staff was helpful to the extent possible, but I still was very uncomfortable.

"Stay at Best Western Plus"

08/04/2016

We stay here in Apr. while we attend a conference. We had a king size bed and the room was large and comfortable. When the weather is warmer, you can enjoy the balcony or patio that each room has. The room was clean and comfortable. Having a quiet room is important to us, so we always ask for a quiet room on the 2nd floor (there are only two floors in the hotel). There was a coffee maker and refrigerator and sink, in addition to the bathroom sink, in the room. A very comfortable stay! Oh, and breakfast is included.

"A College Tour"

Great Location the hotels is very close to CUBoulder and has a walking path to the school and bikes to use. Friendly helpful staff throughout the hotel available to help if needed. Has been updated and a nice casual atmosphere. Breakfast was awesome and had lots of options especially Gluten Free made to order if necessary. Cost is high for area but walking distance from CU Boulder may be important and worth it.

The staff was very helpful and very friendly. They accommodated everyone of our requests. Too bad some drunk guests came in at 2:30 am. The price was a little higher than we like to pay, but the location is excellent!

"Quiet Motel Offers EXCELLENT friendly service"

01/04/2016

All the young gentlemen and lady running front reception were super friendly and efficient. Room was small yet well appointed. Halls and rooms were quiet and conducive to rest. Various breakfast options with good coffee. Keurig in room. Only complaint is no hot tub but Boulder affords lots of walking and cycling. I would stay here again.

"Great staff, great location, free bikes!"

28/03/2016

Spent only one night in this hotel but was pleasantly surprised. Front desk staff was very accomodating, location was terrific, a few blocks from the UC campus. Beds were comfortable, breakfast buffet had fresh berries, eggs and bacon. They have cruiser bikes for use and our family of 4 spent the day biking through the campus and along the boulder creek path (very bike friendly city).

I flew from Boston to Denver and had seen a chiropractor twice before I left for a sore neck that was out of alignment. After sleeping one night in the comfortable bed and using the fabulous pillows my neck was back to normal and I felt great! Thank you for providing such comfort during my stay! I wish I could buy those pillows. Breakfast was nice and filling. Clean dining room and plenty to choose from.

"Very nice place to stay"

5
21/03/2016

This hotel is a good place to stay for vacation or business. The room we stayed in was comfortable and Jon at the front desk put us on the mountain side of the hotel so we could sit on our balcony and see the view. Very thoughtful of him to do that!

"Old..."

14/03/2016

The pictures on the website definitely are not what you actually see when you come here!!! I won't stay again... just OK on cleanliness. I definitely don't consider this 4 stars at all. There was hair on the comforter and the furniture was a bit old and beat up looking. Vanity area is very small.. shower worked well and was clean. The so called mountain view is a joke! Breakfast was ok a little cold but I was also late going!! Bed was comfortable. Nice size TV and a keurig coffeemaker with organic coffee was nice.. small fridge also worked well. The staff is very friendly. It just definitely an older property and the view isn't great.

"Enjoyed the view"

01/03/2016

I was great to wake up to the view of mountains out the window. The room was very clean and spacious. Appreciated the mini-fridge. Very accommodating staff. The breakfast was OK, however due to dietary restrictions, I had to bring some of my own food, like bread. Appreciated the ability to make toast on my own. The location was close to good grocery stores and not far from downtown. I would come here again.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Sally K, How nice that you were able to enjoy the view of the Flatirons from the hotel. This time of the year, the sight of the snow dusting the mountains can be absolutely amazing. We went for a business trip and had all of our needs met. Also, they had great facilities. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was amazing. The only thing that I might change would be the internet and I would encourage them to clean their sauna a bit more often.

"Great hotel for the budget"

26/02/2016

This is a great hotel for mid-range budget. Stuff is cordial, room is large and very convenient. Breakfast was very good. Internet (WiFi) was fast and reliable. The hotel has conference facilities, which are convenient. Outside area is OK. There is construction across, which probably will end up soon. Location is close (walking) to restaurants and shopping center, as well as to the university.

"OK Budget Hotel Option"

3
23/02/2016

Spent one night here and keeping in mind that Best Western is going to be a low-cost, basic hotel option, the hotel was OK. Room was clean and functional. TV didn't work, but was probably just the remote. Since I arrived in the evening and left the next morning, it was not a big deal for me and I let the front desk know when checking out. On the other hand, the (free) internet signal was excellent so I was able to stream video on my iPad in lieu of the TV. Breakfast was fine. Covered all the basics. Lighting in the sink area outside of the bathroom is very dim. Be aware that there is no restaurant or bar on site so plan accordingly. There are some options in walking distance but since I arrived by cab on a snowy night it was not practical to go out.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review

"Very good option for Boulder"

4
20/02/2016

The Best Western Plus is a good option if you don't want or can't spend a fortune on a room that you mostly just want to sleep in. There are nicer hotels closer to downtown but they are also way more expensive. The room was fine, clean, the bed comfortable, and internet connection was ok. The best was certainly the breakfast with a lot of options that fit every taste. The place is very close to the CU campus and even the walk to downtown along the Boulder Creek trail gets you there quickly.

"Poorly maintained hotel"

11/02/2016

The noisy fan woke me up every 15 min or so. It was a cold winter night--mind you we stayed 3 nights, but figured out a way to reduce the turning on of the fan. Breakfast is corporate stuff and quite limited choices. You have to walk out of the hotel to get to the breakfast room--you need to walk on ice to get there. The sink smelled bad, there was no towel rack around the sink area, the lighting was poor. They ignored our complaint about the noisy fan. Another thing that bothered me was the hair left behind in the tub by the cleaner.

"Good quality hotel, great breakfast"

4
10/02/2016

Fantastic variety of good-quality continental breakfast items, from cereal to fresh hot eggs, sausage, etc. Room was good as well. Bed and linens were very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful and always seemed genuinely pleased to help. Would highly recommend and would stay here again. Only two comments on things to improve: I wish that housekeeping would clearly honor the "towels hung up - will use again" policy and leave towels hanging instead of replacing them each day (presumably since towels were newly folded each day). I also wish there was a separate recycling bin in the rooms or at least in the lobby - I would actually expect this in a city like Boulder.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Alyssa M, Thank you for being so positive, and sharing your great experience with the Trip Advisor community. I'm glad you enjoyed the complimentary hot breakfast, served in the new private dining room. We try very hard to have a wide selection of items for all tastes. "Noisy place, corporate breakfast"

2
10/02/2016

Old, noisy fans make sleeping difficult, water was dripping from the air conditioning unit. The lack of hot water in the morning is common, the musty smell coming from the sink was unpleasant. So were the hairs left behind from previous guest. The breakfast is mostly unhealthy, corporate stuff, there was nothing really tasty. Most pleas for help went unanswered. There are better places nearby.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Andras V, We have the largest and most extensive complimentary breakfast in the City of Boulder. Items include: Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, 3 juices, 3 cereals, English muffins, fresh locally sourced Moe's Bagels, doughnuts, yogurt bar, assorted fresh fruit, an oatmeal bar, and fresh Belgian waffles. We have a seven day rotating menu that adds in breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy… We are always interested in receiving feedback on what items our guests would like to see added. If you have some positive suggestions, I would love to hear them. I apologize that you were witness to hot water issues on one of the days of your stay. We had a challenge for a few hours that was addressed swiftly. I'm sorry if this affected your experience in any way. Ari

"Comfortable and close to UC Boulder/Dept. of Commerce "

08/02/2016

I just spent a week at the Best Western Plus in Boulder for meetings. The lobby was nice and cozy and had beautiful views of the Flatiron Mountains along with a gas fireplace to make the space inviting. Our group socialized there several nights during our visit. The continental breakfast was also good and had a lot of variety to suit many different needs. The property also had a small workout facility that included a single treadmill, elliptical, and stationary bike for cardio along with a hand weights and a multi-station cable exercise system for the basics. Both the breakfast and workout rooms were in a separate building that also housed a conference space. There are many trails that you can access from the hotel and I enjoyed a wonderful 5 mile run on the Boulder Creek Trail that apparently runs ~5 miles in either direction from its access point along the frontage road that parallels the hotel. My first floor room was clean and while I don't normally sleep well on travel, the bed was comfy enough to ensure I had a terrific nights sleep. It also appeared that the bathroom had been updated recently and it too was clean and had decent bath products. We ate a several locations that were within walking distance (~1/2-3/4 mi.) including Dark Horse Tavern, Beaujeaus pizza, and caught rides to Fate Brewery (my favorite of all the places we went) and the Bohemian Biergarten in the Pearl Street Mall. If you're looking for something clean and cozy in Boulder that's close to some restaurants, a Whole Foods, a Starbucks, and the university, then this is the place for you!

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi snarlz, Thank you for your extensive review of our hotel. I believe it is users like you that really benefit the Trip Advisor community the most. The way you captured so many details of your stay is so helpful to potential visitors. I'm glad that you enjoyed the hotel so much. The couches by the lobby fireplace are such a nice place to watch the snow fall on a winter day. We had so many positive reviews of the lobby fireplace that we built one in the private dining room as well. It sounds to me as though you were able to take advantage of some of the great dining options around the hotel. The Dark Horse has been there since 1973, and is considered a Boulder institution. I'm also glad you were able to go to Fate Brewery and try some of our local microbrews. Please let me know the next time you come through Boulder. I am happy to help facilitate your reservation. 05/02/2016

The exterior of the hotel was not impressive, but the interior was very clean and well-kept. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. The breakfast selection was very impressive when compared to other similar hotels -- perhaps the best I've ever seen. The heater/airconditioner in the room was a little noisy, but not excessive.

31/01/2016

This is a good value place to stay. The staff is especially attentive and helpful. One staff member went out of his way to provide a late night glass of milk and another helped make my room much quieter by turning off the bathroom fans in adjacent unoccupied rooms. The coffee is good, but overall breakfast leaves a bit to be desired, mainly because the eggs are clearly mass processed and of doubtful quality. More warm vegetarian options would be appreciated too. On my last morning the main course was vegetarian burritos and they were great.

"Good place near CU"

I have stayed here many times for business and leisure travel. it is near CU and easily accessible from the Boulder Turnpike. The staff is courteous and they have a good breakfast. The rooms are well furnished and the beds are comfortable. Some of the rooms have mountain views, others don't.

Ventilation very poor, no hot water 1 st morning, hotel is dated and in need of infrastructure upgrades. Staff was friendly and helpful but the building needs repair. The location is difficult to find and really a challenge to find the check in area.

Hi Eva V, The Boulder Inn is located on the city's main road, directly across from the 30,000 student University of Colorado. I'm sorry if you found it to be a challenge locating the hotel. Thank you for your kind words on the staff. We are very fortunate to have excellent employees. We recently completed a 1.6 million dollar renovation including the front lobby, fitness center, and private dining room for the complimentary breakfast. I'm sorry if your stay did not meet your expectations. Ari Rubin

26/01/2016

We checked in to a beautiful hotel. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We used the hotel bikes to tour all around the UC Boulder campus. We walked to the Circle K a block away where we bought sunglasses, water, drinks and snacks. My daughter forgot her toothbrush, and off course one was brought up to us immediately. Lots of choices for breakfast: waffles, fresh fruit, eggs, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, bagels, toast, coffee and juice bar. We will stay here again. If I could change one thing, it would be to have an extra squishy mattress like mine at home.

"Good option "

24/01/2016

Good location and good rooms Plenty of parking and friendly staff that changed our room to first floor on request. Our room was right in front of pool (off course was close due winter) but they have a nice hot tub (only annoying thing was the teenagers jumping in the hot tub !!) (Elevator was not working). For the price is a good option. Note: we actually stayed in January 2015 not February.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi AzadTF, It sounds as though you were able to take advantage of the hotel's 20 person hot tub. What a great way to spend some time after a hard day of work, or after hitting the ski slopes. I hope that you can come back when the outdoor pool is open. Our pool has a depth of 9 1/2 feet and is heated to 84%. We recently added two fire pits. It is a pleasure to sit outside on a summer night, taking a dip in the pool and watching the sun go down behind the mountains. Please let me know the next time you come through Boulder. 18/01/2016

Great breakfast, super helpful staff! Only suggestion would be some attention paid to the hot tub . Not very "hot" and the room seemed a bit scary :) maybe it's better maintained when the pool area is open as well. But overall, a very fun and comfortable place to stay.

09/01/2016

Have stayed at the Best Western Plus Boulder Inn each time I visit Boulder for the past 10 years or so. They continue to maintain this property quite well. In fact, they were doing some room renovations when I arrived for this trip, and I even stayed in a recently-renovated room. Rooms are very nice, and the complimentary breakfast is first-rate. Staff is extremely friendly. Definitely will continue to stay here when visiting Boulder.

"Great Room with Pets"

"Wonderful Hotel Stay. Friendly, helpful staff"

5
06/01/2016

Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations. The hotel appears to be an older building but is well maintained and updated. The staff was professional and friendly. Our room was much larger than we expected and wonderfully furnished. Since we stayed in January, the outdoor pool was not open but our room had one wall of all glass overlooking the pool and mountains with glass doors out to the pool area. The mountain view was nice even in January but I'm sure pool access would be very nice in the warmer months. This hotel went above and beyond with little extras like toothpaste, shavers, shaving cream provided right in your room in case you need them. The breakfast was in another building but right next to the hotel so the outside walk was very short. Nice selection of breakfast items provided. There were at least 3 staff maintaining the breakfast area and cleaning tables so everything was constantly maintained. The only difficulty we experienced was finding the hotel. It is difficult to get to and the roads are a bit confusing for someone not familiar with the area. Not easy access from the highway like many hotels but certainly worth the search. Would unconditionally recommend this hotel.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Kimberly K, Thank you very much for being so positive. Our goal is to exceed guest expectations at every turn, and I am so glad that we were able to do that for you. I love viewing the Flatirons during winter, especially when they are dusted with snow. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed viewing them out of your hotel window. Our staff work very hard to keep the complimentary breakfast buffet hot, and fully stocked. Thank you for calling attention to their work. Please let me know the next time you come through Boulder. Excellent services and price. Good location. The staff is wonderful and very attentions. Price is also good and internet contact perfect. We visited the University of Boulder and also the city and neighbor area. The five days in the hotel was very good. It was my second time in there. A coin laundry will be good.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review

The hotel is conveniently located with easy access to the university and parks in Boulder. The rooms are comfortable, quiet. Nice breakfast. Internet works really well. Great experience over all. Parking, breakfast and internet are all included into the hotel price. Helpful staff members.

Hi Olga R, Thank you for your nice comment on the internet. It does work great, and our guests are really happy with it. This does not mean we will rest on our laurels. This is an older property but well maintained and clean. Our king bed room was clean and spacious. The vanity area is separate from the shower and toilet, but the vanity is not well lit and only has room for one person. Breakfast buffet had good options and my only comment would to keep hot foods hotter. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Would stay here again for the price.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review

"Best Western Minus!"

3
01/01/2016

Our family (3 people) stayed at Boulder's Best Western Plus for almost a week in late December 2015. It was a real mixed bag - not the worst hotel ever, but a lot of issues. On the Plus side: - Very comfortable beds. - A good hot shower with plenty of pressure. - Pretty good food at the breakfast buffet. - Decent fitness center. - As we checked out and complained about issues below, our nightly cost was reduced from $130 to $100. On the Minus side: - The hotel doesn't stock enough linens for all of the guests when full?? --- One night, we only got two sets of towels. Called to ask for more, were told they would deliver them to the room, that never happened. We started leaving notes for the housekeepers, requesting 3 sets every night. --- Another night, we got no hand towels. Called to complain, were provided with 3 more bath towels because they were out of hand towels. --- On our final night, the tally left for us was 3 wash cloths, 1 hand towel, 1 bath towel ... And 3 bath mats? Called again to complain, and the front desk guy brought us 3 small pool towels. He told us they would get us real towels when they were available - never happened. - The small out-building with 2 meeting rooms, the breakfast buffet, and the fitness center was being remodeled. It looks like it will be nice when completed, but the work was being done with total disregard for the current guests. --- They could have remodeled the breakfast room and meeting rooms at different times, leaving enough space for people to eat. Instead, they were all done at once, with plastic sheeting strung down the middle of the breakfast room, and all of the tables crammed to one side. People were crawling over each other to find a seat. --- They also could have told the construction workers to start their work each day after breakfast was finished. Instead, the people crammed into the room got to listen to sawing and hammering just on the other side of the plastic sheet as they ate. - Lackluster cleaning of the rooms. Examples: We found discarded Christmas gift wrap from the previous occupants tucked in a corner when we checked in. The same two coffee cups (one had a recognizable chip) were left in the room each day, not even rinsed out. - The hotel advertises microwaves for a $2/day fee. We requested one. On our first day, we were told they were all in use, but we would get one as soon as it freed up. Never happened. - Unpleasant odor in the hall outside our room - I thought it smelled like urine. - To top it all off, as we were preparing to leave, we were loading up a luggage cart outside the door to our room. A strange little man appeared in the hall and told us, in broken English, to just leave the door standing open after we left. I asked why, and he said that he worked for the hotel and would clean the room. I told him we would let one of the housekeepers who have keys take care of that. The front desk confirmed he was not an employee and promised to go looking for him. Yikes!

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi RobHM First, thank you for your extensive review. We make it our goal to exceed expectations, and it sounds as though we may not have met our goal with you. We took what you had to say very seriously. I printed out your review, and we brought it into our management meeting. Any point in the review that revealed a shortcoming, we created an action plan to address it. Our General Manager delegated tasks to different manager, and he gave that manager the authority and tools to deal with the tasks. I know that it is odd for me to thank you for a negative review, but thank you. We are currently utilizing your words to better ourselves, and in the end, improve the guest experience. Ari Rubin

22/12/2015

I had a quickly arranged business trip the week before Christmas. I have always had good experiences at the Best Western Boulder Inn, so I requested it for a one-night stay in Boulder. I was pleasantly surprised by the helpful check-in even though I arrived past 11:00 pm. The clerk even pointed out that I would have a beautiful view of the Flat Irons the next morning out the window of my 2nd story room. He was right!

"Great!"

What a wonderful hotel. Everyone deserves a raise! The breakfast is excellent, the wifi always works, the beds are super comfortable. The shower had nice hot water and the big screen tv was a nice touch. I will be back!

We stayed at this hotel twice during our recent visit from Australia to Boulder for thanksgiving and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. The hotel for us was well located to down town boulder, and to nearby tourist destinations as well as american family. Our rooms had great view of the Flatirons and were nice and warm despite the snowing cold temperatures outside. The breakfast dinning room was always warm and the staff cheerful and the food replenished regularly and a variety of different hot food each day. The staff were all friendly, helpful and welcoming every time we had a query or required assistance whether it be about the washing facilities, travel to the airport or directions for a restaurant. In particular our family appreciated the assistance of Rachel and Graham during our stay.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review

"Great hotel in a wonderful town"

05/12/2015

We've stayed in this hotel several times over the last few trips to Colorado. We would recommend it highly for the well run hotel and the close proximity to all the fun spots in and around Boulder. Walking, shopping and eating on Pearl Street or hiking the Chautauquas are fun. Actually this hotel offers easy access to all parts of Boulder.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review

This hotel is right off SH 93 and was tastefully decorated. It was lovely and everyone was very nice. The room was lovely and except for hair in the bathtub everything was in order. I would suggest you take your own water, as they charge $2 for each bottle and they did not replace it with more the second day

"Comfortable, spacious rooms"

5
27/11/2015

This exceeded my expectations, large, well appointed and clean rooms, very comfortable beds. Nice public areas, very helpful front desk staff, good breakfast (although some bacon would have been nice). My wife (who is French) found the toilet flush particularly efficient.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Leopold B, Thank you for your generous words. I find it interesting that you mentioned our toilet flush. In order to limit our resource footprint, we installed dual flush toilets in over 80% of our rooms. The single flush emits .8 gallons of water per flush. In addition to being the most solar powered hotel in Boulder County, and the only hotel in Boulder County with an electric car charging station; we are now well on our way to having 100% LED lighting throughout the entire hotel. Thank you for noticing our efforts. Please let me know the next time you come through Boulder. I am happy to help facilitate your reservation. "goregeous hotel, convenient"

25/11/2015

great place, clean, wonderful breakfast options as well. Many Best Westerns, especially outside of Boston, are independent franchises and, well, not that nice, unpredictable,- this place breaks that perception of mine

"Best Breakfast Buffet"

24/11/2015

This hotel offers a great experience for the money. The rooms are very clean, up to date, and have great decor. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast buffet that comes with every room is so good that I would come to the hotel just for breakfast if it were open to the public! I love this hotel and will be back again soon.

"Comfortable, Clean and Convienent"

22/11/2015

Very convenient location near CU Boulder. Very friendly and helpful staff. Stephanie at the front desk armed us with several local maps to help us find the CU museums as well as local restaurants. Beautiful room, comfortable bed, and all well-maintained. Very quiet location. Breakfast was underwhelming - hard boiled eggs are a disconcerting sight in the morning. Breakfast items were quickly replenished and guests were assisted with the waffle machine. We will definitely return!

"Reasonable rates and a beautiful mountain view!"

12/11/2015

This was my second stay at this Best Western. The hotel is located walking distance to the University and a quick drive to Pearl Street and the 26th Street shopping area. The hotel has a great updated lobby (sitting area including a fireplace) and very nice sitting area outside near the pool (with an awesome firepit). The rooms are comfortable (bedding has been updated which is a plus!) and have balconies. With both of my stays I have had a room with the balcony facing the Flat Irons. (I have enjoyed the balcony, while having a cup of coffee staring at the mountains). The rates I had also included breakfast, which was plentiful with good choices. The breakfast room is a bit tight when the hotel is busy but the attendants are very quick to clear and clean tables to make room for all guests. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Boulder! Don't be fooled by the exterior (looks like a building from the 60's) and odd shaped parking lot, you will be surprised once you enter the lobby. My only criticism is that although the bathrooms are kept very clean they need to be remodeled.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Vlahoula12 Thank you so much for your extensive review, and for your repeat business. An average of 42% of our nightly guests are repeat customers. "If you are traveling with pets, DO NOT stay at this hotel!!!!! They do not bomb for fleas!!!!"

1
12/11/2015

My dog and I stayed one night. My dog had never had a flea on her since I adopted her in March. As I was getting things ready leave, I found 2 fleas on my dog. I was so devastated. I went to the front desk after I had taken all my stuff out and asked how often they bomb for fleas. They told me they don't have fleas in Colorado so they don't bomb for them. They only bomb for other things. I told them I pulled 2 fleas off my dog that morning and told them what room I was in. My poor dog scratched and itched all the way back home to Kansas. After getting home, I immediately took a flea comb to her, getting 15 more fleas off of her. I then gave her a bath. To make sure I had not fleas at my place, I had to buy some spray and sprayed my car and my apartment. I will not stay here again even if I don't have my dog because fleas like to get on people's clothes and they also bite people as well.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Chad R, We took your accusation very seriously and hired a national control service to provide a complete inspection of your hotel room. This trained professional found absolutely nothing. The inspection cost the hotel $160. A copy of the full report will be mailed to you on Monday morning. Our hotel only accepts pets in specific rooms. These rooms are subject to extra cleaning and remediation on a scheduled basis. I recommend that you take a good look at the other places you traveled with your pet, prior to reaching our hotel. It may be polite to contact them, and let them know of the challenges you have had with your dog. Ari

Wow, what a nice surprise when we checked in here. I guess we had lowered expectations since this is an older hotel. Very chic with a nice remodel job. Boulder is so pretty this time of year and the Best Western made it that much more enjoyable!

We were pleased with our recent stay at this hotel. You can tell it is an older property, but they have done a good job keeping it updated. We had a great view of the mountains. We were there for 2 nights and it was quiet. A little hard to find, but GPS gets you there.

Wow. I was expecting "roach motel" and I got Frontgate poolside furniture, firepits, gorgeous amenities, awesome breakfast (not just bagels to toast...) and the staff was tremendously friendly. It was very conveniently located on the freeway but also a view of the mountains in the morning. Stunning.

We found this place very clean, easy location, good price, and staff was excellent--helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The pool was lovely and heated, and the pool area had comfy furniture and a nice feel. The room was clean and roomy too. A nice breakfast was included as well. Great stay for us!

"Outstanding staff at a home-away-from home"

25/10/2015

This Best Western is my favorite hotel. I have been coming here for some years, and it just keeps getting better. The staff -- whether at the front desk, breakfast room, maintenance or housekeeping -- are outstanding: friendly, helpful, and efficient. I also appreciate that staff are there over the long term; I've built up relationships with many of them. The hotel keeps improving its amenities, upgrading the lobby and the breakfast room over recent years. The breakfast is super: the breakfast room is spacious and comfortable, and the quality and choice is excellent. The coffee, in particular, is very good. I love the decor: rather than off-the-shelf, forgettable blaa, the rooms and hallways are decorated with the work of local painters and photographers. Beautiful work, well hung.

This is a very good hotel and is close to CU-Boulder. My son and I visited the school. We were able to walk everywhere (keep in mind that a campus is a big place so bring tennis shoes). The staff was helpful and friendly.

"Great for a CU Visit"

Have stayed here numerous times while visiting our soon. The rooms are great, the breakfast is wonderful, and the staff is excellent!! Every time we visit this has been the case so don't hesitate. They also offer discounts for Buff parents!

"Adequate Accomodations"

3
16/10/2015

When we needed to change hotels, the front desk was very helpful in holding a room (of course this may have been because of diamond level in the best western program). Staff was friendly, but this isn't a hotel geared to tourism...there was little information about sites, hiking, etc. The focus of this hotel is really for visitors to the University of Colorado. My one negative comment is that after checking out an additional charge appeared on my credit card. I was told it was for bottled water - and the bottles in the room did NOT have price labels.

"Good for the price "

3
14/10/2015

My husband and I went to Boulder to visit my brother who lives there. Everything is Boulder is much more expensive than I'm used to. This hotel had a reasonable price. When we pulled up I was a little worried. The outside is dated. However, the inside is very modern and beautiful. Location is on the outskirts of Boulder, but we took an Uber ride everywhere for around $10 a trip. I would have liked to stay closer to the downtown area but if you're ok driving about 10 minutes to get to most places the hotel is a great price compared to others.

"dont stay here"

06/10/2015

price gauging poor quality unsafe location my room was on the first floor with an easy to open terrace facing a construction site, parking lot and homeless shelter. the replacement room was the same only on the 2nd fl internet was s low to non existant they overcharged me by 100% because it was family weekend

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Adelaide P, You chose to stay at the closest hotel to the university on the busiest football game weekend of the year. As someone who sells real estate in Manhattan, I'm sure you are familiar with how supply and location can affect demand and pricing. As within any community, lodging prices are normally higher on a busy weekend. On this busy football weekend, there were hotels in town selling for up to $250 per night higher than our price. Our commitment is to always be the most competitively priced hotel in our market segment. We were on this weekend. The building across our parking lot which was victim of your snarky comment is actually corporate headquarters for a national rental company. If price continues to be a driving factor in your purchasing decisions, I recommend future visits to Boulder during December and January. Hotel prices tend to be less expensive during non-peak times. We wish you the best at Eastern Consolidated. Ari Rubin

"OLD hotel - but clean"

3
04/10/2015

This is a very old hotel. Looks like a 1970's construction at best. As with most old hotels, the bathroom is very small. The room in general was very dated. The room was very clean. The location is good if you are visiting CU. Free wi-fi. If you are not too fussy, this hotel will do.

BoulderInn, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN PLUS Boulder Inn, responded to this review
Hi Ultimatetravelking, Thank you for noting our cleanliness. I recently received a guest comment that the hotel was too clean. He had twice bumped his nose on the window, which was so clean it looked invisible. Our housekeepers have been known for their relentless pursuit of spotlessness. After cleaning, each room is checked twice by specially trained supervisors. They utilize black lights for inspection, and ultraviolet wands for added protection. I'm glad that all of their superior efforts were evident to you during your stay. Ari Rubin

Motel was ok. Room was a little small for a Best Western Plus. Had to get towels for pool at front desk which was a little inconvenient. Breakfast was ok but not great. Wasn't kept warm. Overall I thought it was a little expensive for what we received.

I am a member, and I have earned points staying at Best Western hotels all over the world. We keep towels at the pool area, rolled up on the chaise lounge chairs. Stayed for four nights in Sept 2015 visiting town for my cousin's wedding. Hotel is well designed and spotlessly clean. "Impressive room"

5
03/10/2015

We checked in on Saturday afternoon and the receptionist was so polite, efficient and helpful. The lobby and corridors of the hotel were very clean and tastefully decorated. We were so pleased when we entered our room as it was massive with a king size bed. There were thoughtful touches in the bathroom such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, shaving foam and razors. We had previously stayed in The Best Western Plus in Durango and couldn't believe the difference between the two hotels. We drove the short distance into Pearl Street where there was free parking and lots of street entertainers and restaurants. We had to leave early for the airport the next morning so were unable to sample the breakfast.
