Best Western Plus Boston Hotel

Worst experience ever. Staff not willing to help. The man who answered the phone in the afternoon was incredibly sarcastic and just awful. I forgot my charger in the room and he refused to look in the lost and found items until I begged. Terrible experience with customer service.

Great accommodations and attentive and efficient service make this hotel an excelent value for money in Braintree. This unit raised the bar of the network. Great option for those looking for a calm staying.

Somebody messed with my mirror outside in there parking lot & the lady at the front desk was very rude and didn't accommodate after they messed up on there end and gave us a dirty room not to mention wasn't the type of room I even reserved

This hotel is kind of out of the way to get to from the downtown Boston attractions, but was still easy enough to get back and forth to between Uber and using the subway. Can't say much about the continental breakfast, as we didn't eat any meals at the hotel. Very clean rooms! The shuttle driver was awesome! He helped get us to the closest subway station and showed us how to purchase our tickets. Invaluable information that was so appreciated! Would recommend if you are on a budget or can't find anything closer to downtown.

This unique hotel experience [it's round!] was complimented w/the BEST free breakfast [both days!] I've ever had--whether on business or pleasure! The complimentary breakfast was actually staffed w/people who were VERY attentive [they were more friendly and more concerned than the average wait-staff!], and constantly stocked food BEFORE it ran out. The food variety was excellent and the fruit was fresh. Good hotel and GREAT breakfasts!

Everything in the hotel was clean and nice. The neighborhood is okay, but not fantastic. The breakfast was very nice with a large variety of basics (eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, cereal, etc.). The staff was very helpful.

Listen to the other reviews. I didn't and I really regretted it. Not only is it in an unsafe neighborhood (which the other reviews all made pretty clear) but what they don't say is that there is bad element INSIDE the hotel also --like, look out your peep hole to see hookers in the hall and people screaming and laughing all hours of the night. Not to mention the sketchy parking situation of which the hotel washes their hands of any responsibility. Thankfully I only paid $123 for the night.

Good Hotel, but in a very poor neighborhood. Two complaints. 1) With the current Coronavirus pandemic, we asked the front desk clerk what the hotel does to clean and disinfect the rooms. She said she did not know. I recommend that you have a handout at the front desk or a posted sign with what you do to clean and disinfect the rooms , lobby, public areas, etc. 2) When we got to our room, we spent time wiping down and cleaning surfaces as a precaution, then when we opened the mini-refrigerator, we found a have eaten McDonald's Meal still in the paper bag, (McDonald's is right across the street from the Hotel.) Obviously, the housekeeping crew missed that which makes me wonder, how well the rooms are cleaned? When we reported the issue to the front desk, we were immediately given a different room with an apology from the clerk.

I don't really know where to begin this review, except to stay that about 99% of what others have written before me is very accurate -- and I wish I'd read their reviews more thoroughly to understand what I was getting into. I love Best Westerns and am very loyal to them -- I stay at BWs whenever I can. I have never had a bad experience at a BW and this hotel itself is definitely one of the better BWs at which I've stayed -- I'd even go so far as to give it 4.5 stars. It is, however, in a horrible, unpleasant neighborhood -- which drags down its rating detrimentally. PROS? - free parking (though I was worried about my car all night and excited to still see it there / in one piece in the morning) - super clean and spacious rooms (great layout!) - lots of natural as well as man-made light throughout the suites - free bottled water in the room - super friendly and very helpful staff - breakfast was incredible; it had everything you could possibly ask for and caters to all tastes; wide variety of food, very clean and welcoming; very friendly staff also CONS? - not many food options in the area - a very seedy / dodgy area; I didn't feel 100% comfortable as a solo female traveller even walking around in the daylight; I was harassed at one point by a drug addict on the street who was clearly off his head; I rushed straight back to the hotel room and didn't leave for the rest of the day (there may be other areas nearby that are more decent, but I didn't venture out) - there was a smell of marijuana in the evening permeating into my room and loud sirens through most of the night — thankfully, I'm a good sleeper so that didn't bother me as much as the annoying neighbors in the room next to me, opening and closing their doors loudly at all hours of the night - the beds in the rooms are extraordinarily high -- even at almost 6-feet tall I had to stand on my tippy-toes to get into it - always great to have a gym, but this one was incredibly small for such a large hotel, there were no clean towels, and the treadmill emergency stop button was glued on (danger!) OVERALL: Basically, this is an excellent hotel in a really bad area. The hotel itself was great but I did not feel at all comfortable outside it. I chose this particular BW because of its proximity and convenience to a meeting I had the following morning (that worked out well), but I won't stay at this location again -- I'll opt for the other BW at which I usually stay, even though it's further out from Boston proper. It's a shame, as this really is a great hotel with great people.

My husband and I are always pleased with Best Westerns. This particular Best Western has been the nicest hotel we have stayed at. Very fair price and the room was spacious and clean. The staff was polite and professional. Housekeeping was the most thorough we've seen. As we left the front desk employee, Deginet, was very sweet and helpful. We hope to back again in a few years! Keep up the amazing work

The hotel itself is absolutely lovely! Loved the room and the free breakfast was amazing. The only downside was that our TV didn't really work well, it was very static-y and we couldn't get it to hook up to our laptop with HDMI (the input was there but wasn't working), and all of the remote control inputs were delayed. Aside from that though, the hotel is lovely. However, the area outside of the hotel is frightening. All of my Lyft and Uber drivers warned my friends and I to never walk outside at night, and there was always loud noise from outside. The hotel did supply earplugs to make it easier to sleep, but still. It was disconcerting. The free parking was nice but the lot wasn't very secured and while it did not happen to me, I have heard of other people's cars being tampered with there. All in all though I did have a very nice stay!

Really nice hotel! I was a bit skeptical at 1st but once inside you are welcomed by the staff. Breakfast was great and a well kept establishment. rooms were clean and cozy. I will recommend this HOTEL TO ANY AND EVERYONE.

The hotel was great not in a best area but the stay was really good. The only thing wrong with this hotel is the parking not enough parking space for all of the guests. Also the food was great and the house keeping kept our room clean.

very clean, staff awesome ,warm cookies at 5:30pm,excellent breakfast shuttle service great. nothing bad to report rooms right on Mass Ave sometimes a little noise but not distracting free USA newspaper, vending machines for late night snacks. Huge rooms that are very comfortable. Used shuttle service daily and helped get us to our destination on time.

The staff at the hotel were the kindest staff I've ever encountered at any hotel, the room was very spacious, the breakfast was great, and the environment was very clean. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in Boston, and I look forward to returning.

Our stay was very peaceful, room was clean and employees were very friendly. There was always that constant smiles that makes you feel that you are always welcome and appreciated. The employees were very knowledge in any category that applies to their responsibilities. I am staying in another Best Western in 1076 Williston Road South Burlington, Vermont 05403-5718 in May 2020 due to the excellent service and satisfaction from all my past stays. ln addition, the prices are very reasonable and competitive. Keep up the excellent service, Best Western.

The hotel was nice but not in the most walkable area. Everyone was very friendly, continental breakfast was surprisingly good, and the free shuttle was very convenient, on the day I went up to the medical hospital area, I called and the shuttle driver came to pick me up and bring me back to the hotel. The only real downside for me was that the temperature in the room fluctuated a ton and it was very loud from road noises since it's close to a bigger road.

On top of the booking price, when you get to the hotel you have to pay basically a refundable security deposit. With a credit card: $20/ debit: $120/ cash: $150. Just be aware, because I wasn't informed

This hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable, and an excellent breakfast was provided. It also provides free parking! We chose it because it was close to Mass General Hospital where I had an appointment the following morning. I definitely recommend this hotel!

This was our second stay. Quality was similar to more expensive hotels. Free parking. Room has separate sitting area from bedroom. Breakfast has lots of options though the eggs were pre-made patties. When our room keys didn't work the clerk re-set them AND accompanied me back to room to be sure we could get in. We will definitely stay here again.

I booked this hotel for my small group and found the rooms to be good and well kept. I was also surprised by the good size of the rooms and the Bathroom. Everything was perfect. The location of the property is on the Main MAA avenue and only a 10 minutes drive from the center of Boston The room facilities are also very good. The breakfast is also very good. A special mention must be made of the Staff serving the breakfast. They were very polite and always smiling and always kept everything well stocked. May god bless them Will definitely come again

It was nice room was very clean and nice view was also close where eateries are and different stores.customer service was good I had a problem and they were patience and very nice by doing all they could to help resolve the issue at hand..

My boyfriend and I needed a place to stay for the night and it was sufficient enough. However, the parking options were least to be desired and the cleanliness of the bathroom could've been better. Wasn't the worst wasn't the best.

Overall the hotel itself was very nice, the staff was pleasant, the room was very nice, location worked well for us. But the outside noise was terrible. Sirens all night and road noise. Made it very hard to sleep. They provide ear plugs but I'm not able to sleep well with earplugs in. So unless there is a quieter area of the hotel I would probably not stay here again. Due to myself being a light sleeper. Also the neighborhood is not great. So I would not recommend walking very far. There is a good pizza place and a McDonald's close by by at least.

The hotel was clean and inviting. The area is a bit loud in the morning- but the low price, free parking, free breakfast, free wifi- it's definitely worth it. We needed an affordable hotel close to the hospital and this place was fantastic.

My grandmother and I had a great trip. The hotel was clean. The room was large enough that we were not tripping over each other. The location was great for what we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I always enjoy my stay here. Room is always clean and staff is pleasant. I look forward to the staff in the breakfast area who always remembers me and greets me with a smile and “Welcome Back!” The location is perfect to get to my workshops.

Best best western room I have ever stayed in, however, when I saw ear plugs for "sensitive sleepers" I should have said WHAAATTTT! Incredible noise starting at ~4AM with trucks, trash haulers, and construction equipment across the street. no "warning" other than ear plugs, and windows seemed to magnify / amplify sounds

There is free parking at an adjoining lot. The hotel is close to everything. It is within walking distance of the hospital. It has a lot of breakfast options. The hotel is clean and the staff is very pleasant.

Good news: free wifi, parking and breakfast. Staff and room were great. Location: close enough to get to where you would need to go. Location: outside of the hotel was a den for noise, trash, and homelessness.

The room was appropriately sized for my family of 4 The staff were helpful both at reception and house keeping The road and Drive n mcDonalds was near by which resulted in some noise in the early hours but it was not a big deal Breakfast was basic but was sufficient

We stayed here before a medical procedure in the morning only complaint is because it's so bright from all the lights shades that closed all the way and was a bit noisy because there is a recycling plant behind it but they provided ear plugs. Room was a good size as well.

The staff is great! Everyone is friendly and welcoming. We traveled with our small dog and they made us feel comfortable. There is limited grass around for dog potty breaks but we found some good spots very close to the hotel (at a gas station). Parking is nearby, across a side street. There's also a place at the entrance of the hotel to park and unload. The pet friendly room was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the breakfast options (something for everybody, well staffed) and used the fitness center. This is our second visit and the service, facilities, and staff have been great both times. This hotel is in downtown Boston, across the street from another chain hotel. There's a Target, grocery stores, and drug stores nearby (with parking). There's lots of restaurant delivery options. It's also near Mul's Diner (a must go, if you like diners). There's a strong police presence in the area, due to being downtown, and you may pass homeless people on the way to parking. We never felt unsafe and found this location very convenient to Boston destinations.

Med marijuana tough to get stench out of hallways, carpets etc. I understand. But unruly guests SHOUTING in Welcome Center? And the poor BW front desk looking terrified? Can we remember a day when Best Western stood up for Decorum, Class? Couldn't BWSecurity have been summoned....or perhaps 911???? If there is no principal of law, does the name Best Western signify anything, any Stands of Safety?????!?!?!?

Only stayed one night and we loved how nice our room was and the staff was really relaxed. Didn't seem like many people coming in and out, so it was nice and quiet. Definitely a hidden gem and the breakfast was great.

This is like the one really ghetto place around Boston. Hotel is ok, but it's basically next to a methadone clinic. At least those folks are trying to get better? Anyways, you'll need to drive, uber, lyft, out of there. It's also next to a large hospital with helicopters landing all night.

The guest room was very comfortable and cozy. It felt more like a home than a hotel room. View was nice, we had two large windows a couch and king bed. Small fridge was excellent to have our leftovers and beverages in. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The area of the hotel sucks a lot but, that's not their fault. I was very thankful they have 2 small parking lots and a convenient shuttle to various T stops. It was pretty affordable for such a nice stay! I will definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.

The hotel location looks weird from outside but the inside is very good. I was very pleased with the quality of the room and amenities. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and courteous. I would highly recommend this hotel. Complete worth the money!!

The location of the hotel is not the best. It is on the Mass Ave where the street is full of junkies. However, the hotel staff and the room was incredible. I would definitely recommend it if you are not worried about it's location.

Very bad area to stay in if you are bringing children with you. A lot of drug addicts. Front desk staff not very nice. Very stingy when it comes to asking for extra things for your room. but very good breakfast and nice house keeping ladies.

Close to just about everything! About 10 minutes from the Boston Aquarium, Maybe 15 from Nathaniel Hall. We took an Uber to the Aquarium then walked all over, and a cab back. Room was wonderful! Very spacious. We ordered out and had room service or the take out service bring us pizza and we ate in. Great customer service at the front desk. We had a sick person in our room and one of us had to use the lobby bathroom, they were so nice and understanding. It was just such a nice place.

Every member of the staff went out of their way to make my family have a good experience. They accommodated requests for blankets and other items in an timely and polite manner. They even went as far as to entertain my toddlers as we waited for breakfast to start. The food was plentiful and diverse and included options for a family member with allergies. The driver was friendly and helped us find were we needed to go. It was only a short drive to the subway station or a $10 or less Uber/Lyft/Taxi to the center of Boston. There was FREE parking and a full breakfast. Best deal in town. There was no remodeling going on and our room looked amazing and had all the extras. The bed was very comfortable. It looks like they will be adding a more complete kitchen in the basement, but the rest of the hotel is done. The hotel is across the highway from the local police station. I don't usually leave reviews, but after reading so many mixed comments and having such a good experience I wanted to share.

Staff and shuttle are very accommodating. Friendly and happy to serve you. Call for a return trip with shuttle and they quickly help out. Have stayed often and have had excellent accommodations. Breakfast in the morning is good. Coffee around the clock and cookies in late afternoon. Clean rooms and beds are very comfortable. Free parking around the premises.Staff all are very friendly and helpful. Have enjoyed each time we've stayed. The only downside is that there are many homeless near and around the area of the hotel. It is a little shady once evening comes.

We recently stayed at the Best Western in Boston. We had a visit at Dana Faber and stayed overnight at a close hotel. We had stayed here a few years ago but they have remodel. We stayed in a king suite and it was beautiful. Loved everything about it. The breakfast was moved to the 1st floor and it is really nice and their was plenty to choose from. We will definitely stay here again. The location isn't the best but the rooms are top notch.

The rooms were big and clean. Heater made a sound like it was about to explode so we had to turn it down. Breakfast was disappointing. But the worst thing were people working front desk. They're just rude and not helpful at all. As many people mentioned there are some homeless people in the area. But it wasn't a big deal. Maybe because i live in LA I didn't think there was too many of them. Just a few and they mind their own business. I felt safe.

The most unsafe Best Western I ever stayed at. With meth clinic right across the street, and correction facility around the corner. Since I was travel by myself for work, I don't feel safe walking outside by myself when it was dark. They have armed security inside the hotel, but they aren't there outside of the hotel! Since I booked my hotel through Expedia prepaid rate, I called Expedia to raise my concern and they called they hotel to see if I can check out early with a refund. As expected, the hotel refused my request. When I complained to the corporate office, they said “no one ever complained about the safety”. I think they should go on Yelp to check on all the other reviews...

The room was very clean, tidy and spacious. There was a mini fridge and an iron board and iron in the room which was great. The service was also amazing, but the breakfast buffet was not what I had expected. I would have appreciated if there were more fresh and vegetarian options.

Went with friends to visit colleges to see what ones would be a good fit for our daughters. The Best Western Plus gave us the beat value for our money. Free parking, free breakfast and free WiFi. The place was very clean and comfortable. No complaints about the hotel whatsoever. The area it was in could have been a little nicer or a bit more convenient to mass transit but any other hotel we looked at that was more convenient was double or even triple the price. If I ever visit Boston again, I would have no problem staying here again.

Amazing! The employees here are always very professional and kind. I would stay at this location again in a heart beat. Breakfast was offered as well as high express check out. Everyone is always so friendly and makes my stay worth while

Hot and Loud. This hotel is in a very questionable area. Our uber driver called it "Meth Mile" I believe. You CANNOT walk around here outside. We ubered everywhere. The reason we stayed here is because we had a free night. It is very loud as well, due to the people roaming the streets at night in this location (and screaming bloody murder) and the construction site. We also had some issues with the AC, our room always felt too warm for us, we like to sleep in cooler temperatures. On the plus side, we did get a late check out! The staff was very nice and helpful. We received free waters and cookies! So far, I have really enjoyed Best Western but this location definitely was not for us.

Stayed for 2 nights the staff was rude the rooms not the cleanest and the amount of drug addicts walking around at night was terrifying. They make you park on the side lot of a gas station and you have to walk around a dark fence all while being stared at or called out to by these addicts mostly coming from the methadone clinic around the corner. Safety for their guest is definitely not a priority!!! Rooms were ok minus the bathroom that had stains on the walls and breakfast was ok need more fruit options. Wont be back....

We spent 3 nights at the Best Western Plus Boston Hotel in mid-October and had a great stay overall. The room was spacious, quiet, and well located in the downtown Boston area with quality restaurants nearby that delivered our dinner to the front desk promptly. We also really appreciated one of the staff members helping us safely find the hotel by giving us directions over the phone on our first night there. We had a positive experience at this hotel overall.

Good security which is fortunate because it is needed. The rooms are large and well equipped. Parking available (free) and convenient to airport. Standard breakfast. Friendly staff. Located near hospitals and airport.

We got a room in the 7th floor, king bed, comfortable. the shower has only fixed faucet. the room is facing the street - VERY noisy. From other people we heard that the back side is even noisier due to construction work that is being done. Breakfast was average, poor egg choices.

Free Shuttle into South station makes this hotel a winner.... you get a free city tour on the way in! Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Iron and ironing board in the room fridge and coffee making. Wifi excellent.

I would not recommend staying at this hotel. It's in a terrible neighborhood and so much noise. I could not sleep through all the traffic noise and homeless meth addicts yelling outside. There was no sound proofing and it was horrible.

My mattress had dirty bodily fluid stains on it. I would have left however with it being dark out, I was afraid to walk to my car. I'd have to walk past the drug addicts from the methadone clinic to get to my car. It was a lose lose situation

The location is OK, but they offer a free shuttle in. We often Ubered and it was only about $8-10 to get anywhere we wanted to go. The rooms were extremely clean, and the breakfast in the morning was great. The service was excellent. Not only from the front desk, but everyone that we interacted with. We did a long weekend in Boston and I'm so glad that we chose to stay here. I would again in a heartbeat.

Friends and I recently stayed at the Best Western Plus Boston for a girls shopping weekend. We wanted somewhere conveniently located with parking available, which can be hard to find downtown. The neighbourhood that this hotel is located in leaves a lot to be desired. It is located at a very busy intersection and as three women, we didn't feel overly safe there at night. That said, the hotel itself was exactly what we were looking for. The room we stayed in was quite large, with two double beds and a couch/seating area. Everything was clean and we didn't find the street noise to be an issue. (Though we did take advantage of the ear plugs provided!

Stayed one night in Boston and needed a hotel close from the airport. It had everything you need for a business trip. The room even had ear plugs (I guess some people find the road traffic loud...). Interesting design for the room but there were very spacious. Friendly service a the front desk.

We stayed at this hotel twice - at the end of July and at the beginning of September. When we checked in the front desk staff, in general, were not very welcoming and difficult to understand because they were speaking so quietly. There were a couple of front staff members that were good, friendly and helpful. One beef I have is the availability of cookies in the evening. One night I asked if the cookees had been all consumed. I was told they had not been put out. They were supposed to be put out a 530PM and it was now 6:30 PM. When they were finally put out it took an hour and a half. I don't call that very good customer service. The lead server for breakfast was outstanding. She was very friendly and helpful making sure that we had everything we needed. I commend her for her positive approach to customer service. The rooms we had were suites and were very clean and comfortable. I always check the bathroom floor corners to see how well the room has been cleaned. At this hotel, I rate it excellent. The cleaning staff is very good. The shuttle staff was very good and helped to make our transport much easier. One other thing to be mentioned is that the hotel is not in the best area of Boston. They have security personnel both in the day and armed at night. This hotel is not in the best area of Boston but if you are careful and aware of your surroundings you will be okay. So the area that this hotel needs to work on is the front desk staff. I would say get some people who care.

Simply the worst hotel for traffic noise I've ever ‘slept' in!! This hotel is located at the junction of 2 busy roads, has a 24 hour Gas station and MacDonalds nearby. The kids seem to use this location as a drag strip/hang-out till the early hours. The hotel must be aware of the issue as earplugs are left in the rooms without having to request them. I was in the 6th floor of 7 so getting a higher floor will not help. Avoid this place.

This hotel is not in the most selubrious district of Boston but is ideal for the airport which is about 10 mins away, so after a very long day was ideal. The rooms and bathrooms are very nice and roomy and the breakfast was good. However, it is on a very busy and noisy road. With a hospital nearby, there were sirens through the night. You know it is going to be noisy when they provide ear plugs in the rooms. One of the best things however was the pizza place opposite which done amazing sized Pizza's.

Good stay, enjoyed the hotel and staff is friendly. Room was nice, spacious and recently renovated. Had everything I needed. The only thing I was not happy about was a smell of smoking in the bathroom coming from downstairs, I think. At the same time I never reported it to the staff... The area around is ok. There is a shuttle bus running from hotel to two subway stations and Uber ride is 9-10 dollars from the hotel to downtown. It would be super awesome if the second elevator was fixed but one was enough if you are patient. If not, it is pretty easy to take the stairs. Thanks for the nice stay!

The incredible loud noise starting at 4:30am was overwhelming. Had to change rooms and will see if tonite if any better. This is the first hotel I have ever stayed at that has EAR PLUGS on the night stand in the bedroom. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful but I would never stay here again due to the early morning empty tractor trailers bouncing down the road outside our room. Area is sketchy too with homeless. Not a place to take a walk at night.

We stayed here for 6 nights on the ground floor in September. We had no problems with noise or anything else. The staff is very friendly and exceptionally helpful. The shuttle drivers are attentive, on time, helpful and good drivers in a crazy drivers town. Many of the other reviews project a negative attitude towards this place in reference to safety outside the building. In our opinion they all overstate their concerns. There are way more street people issues in downtown Boston then here. We walked every evening to and from the several near by restaurants with zero issues. There were multiple issues while walking the streets on the Freedom Trail in downtown Boston. There are huge noise issues downtown, none at this hotel. The breakfast spread is outstanding with multiple hot and cold items to choose from and very tasty. The young lady in charge of the dining area is a real gem. The room was real clean, water pressure great and bed nice and comfy. We would definitely stay here again if we were to have the occasion to do so.

The hotel offers FREE parking and we had six bags with us so we had to rent a car. The room was nice but the bed was too soft for my back. Did a good job cleaning the rooms. The window in our room fell out and we could hear loud music and someone yelling outside at night (weekend). Breakfast was better than most and the servers were super nice! Only had one working elevator. Used the shuttle and that was great! It is unfortunate that there is a homeless shelter so close to the hotel. It has an impact on the experience. They had security and did a really good job watching over the cars and the lobby. Great Cuban restaurant down the street, otherwise not much else. We will use uber and stay closer to Berklee next time we come to visit our college student.

Hotel is very nice and clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are big and comfortable. The area is sketchy. We used Uber all the time to get to places. The hotel has shuttles to go to train stations on orange and red lines. It is also noisy. We were woke up 4:30 in the morning by construction people pulling pipes. Only one elevator was working. It took us 5 min to wait for it, especially in the morning to get breakfast.

Enjoyed our stay. Room newly remodeled, friendly staff, good breakfast. One of the two elevators was out of service the entire 6 days we stayed there and the other was very slow. The neighborhood is not a good one due to homeless population and nearby shelter, but hotel runs a shuttle service to the train station periodically during the day.

Nice hotel, big rooms, very comfortable and clean. Very professional and kind front desk representatives. Nice breakfast with plenty of choices. No microwave in the room (but there is a mini refrigerator). Only in the lobby.

The room was large and comfortable for two people and a cat. The hotel is in a sketchy area, near a few hospitals and noisy at night. My room was on the street side which probably made that aspect worse. And they did have security at night. It's also not near any subway. They offer a shuttle - but it's only every 1.25 hour. So if you miss it, you've got a wait or need to get a cab/Uber/Lyft. One elevator was out of service from before I arrived and was still out of service when I left. The "business center" was likewise out of service from before I arrived and was still out of service when I left. The "fitness center" is a treadmill and two cycles in a mirrored room. One almost walks into one of they cycles upon entry. So not so good. The breakfast was good - eggs, potatoes, cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruit, waffles, muffins - a good variety and fresh every day. The staff in the breakfast area were terrific about keeping the tables clean and the food well supplied. The maid service - because I had a cat in the room, I did not let them into the room during my stay. When I needed supplies, I asked the room maid who was MORE than accommodating about meeting my needs. I see the management responds to these reviews so I hope they let her know I appreciated her good, friendly service. And as I said the room was great. I normally wouldn't write such a review but I think Best Western should do better.

Really nice place. Good location, not far from Boston but competitive price. Nice room, clean and confortabile. The only negative point was the breakfast not so good for all people. Just few muffins but not pastries at all, pan cakes machine ridiculous and with lots of problems. Except for breakfast was a nice stay. Wonderful place is the next restaurant the Tavern!!! Lovely food.

I expected an average room but was very surprised to find a big beautiful room (almost a suite), large bathroom and everything was new and very clean. They were very friendly and the security made me feel very safe. They did even the small things well included a full breakfast in the AM when I expected a "continental" one. I will be back.

Hotel was only ok for value. Not in the best location but staff were very good. It was clean and had very hogh beds and which was odd..lol. We arrived early and needed laundry and parking spot. Dagenet (guessing the spelling of her name..sorry!) was great and had answers fot all or queries and was so much help to us. She was friendly and basically took alot of hassle out of our first trip tp Boston ! If you habe Uber you wont have any problems. Its located only 25min walk to Copley square which we did everyday and helped clear the heads although neighbourhood isnt great, but we had no problems.

From the dimly lit interiors to save electricity, to only one elevator allowed to operate, to truly awful tasteless food, to staff who cannot speak English (I am not a bigot but someone has to speak English just for ordinary services), everything reeks of extreme penny-pinching by the management of this property. How many more pennies would it cost to have just decent food, or better lighting than a few cold-light LEDs? Probably only a few pennies per booking. I was also overcharged compared to the booking made.

I enjoyed staying in this hotel mostly because of the friendly staff. Especially "Daginet" was very helpful, kind and professional. Thank you, Daginet. The rooms were very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable after a long day of travelling and exploring. However, the area was the hotel is located in industrial and not friendly for walkers.

Nice hotel located NOT in the best part of Boston. Front Desk Agent was polite and professional. We booked suite for 4 people. It wasn't big but we managed it. Room is clean with renovated furniture. They had only 2 elevator and one of them was Out of Service so we had to wait for a while to get to the room. I'm not sure if I will be back just because of the location.

Hotel itself was nice. One elevator was broken during out stay. The issue with this hotel is the location. There is a methadone clinic nearby and the neighborhood is cluttered with folks actively using. Two nights there were active incidents requiring police presence on the street. It's located near two bus routes that will get you to the subway or to where you need to go. If Boston could clean up the neighborhood a bit, this hotel would be a 5.

The hotel was not clean; the front desk staff were unprofessional; & knew nothing about the $20.00 gift card that was being offered if you booked another stay at a Best Western by fall of 2019. I will never stay at this hotel again.

We,family of 4, have chosen this hotel for a short trip to Boston.We have been very pleased with all the services: the staff was very nice, everything was very clean and if you plan to use the subway which is not far from the hotel, a good shuttle service is offered. Location is close to downtown in case you want to take an uber and it is not expensive. The neighborhood is a little bit shady, but not to worry, it was safe.We had an unexpected incident on the last day within the parking lot and the way Mr. Sal, the manager, handled the issue make us considering this not a problem.Kudos to the way he handled the situation by protecting his staff and dealing with the clients' interest in the same time.He exceeded our expectations.We would stay here again if we came back to Boston.

all good expect location ... did no feel safe outside the hotel.... ... located in the south end of Boston, the area is very close to Methadone Alley and there were police sirens working all day and night... many homeless in the area and confrontations occuring

I expected very little since I booked this hotel the night before traveling to Boston for a Phish concert. I was really just looking for a cheap place to lay my head for the night. I would say that this hotel very much exceeded my expectations. The staff was super friendly and the room was perfectly clean. It was an absolutely huge room compared to what I had expected as well. Here are some of the "cons": 1. The neighborhood is a little shady, especially in the evening. Not horrible, but the hotel parking lots are not secured, and they make it very clear that it's not their problem if you were to have a break-in. 2. It was very loud outside the hotel. When I got there, I had just driven through the night and had wanted to catch a nap. Luckily, they seem to be cognizant of this because they provide ear plugs in the room for you. 3. There isn't much open late at night surrounding the hotel in walking distance. We got back from the concert around 11:30 or 12, and NOTHING was open for my buddy to grab a bite to eat. Not a huge deal, but beware. Again, I would 100% stay here again if I came back to Boston. It was a very short ride over to Fenway by Uber, and the amenities were top notch for the price.

This hotel was nice and it was a quick ride via uber to the Seaport area of South Boston, the staff was so nice and accommodating assisted in information to take the "T" train or to take an uber to avoid driving. We got recommendations of restaurant that made it easier to pick a place to grab a bite. Sal the manager and his staff were great to work with.

This hotel is located in or close to Roxbury, one of the less safe neighborhoods. I was staying two nights with my 13-year-old daughter. We arrived after dark, and noticed multiple police vehicles at the hotel. They were interviewing a hotel guest about an assault that apparently took place just outside the hotel. This scared my daughter, who didn't want to stay at the hotel. They have a police officer stationed at the door during certain hours. Across the street is a church, where there were maybe 50 people gathered, who appeared to be homeless or otherwise in need. The next day we saw a homeless person sleeping in the doorway of the adjacent business. There is very limited parking on the hotel grounds, so you need to park in an adjacent lot across the street or in a gas station back lot about 1/2 block away. I would feel safe during the day, but after dark, I was nervous. The room was great; the service was nice; the price was good. You need to be comfortable with the seedy neighborhood, however, to take advantage of the rest.

1 night - arrived mid afternoon - easy quick check in. Front desk staff was friendly and easily accommodated our numerous questions. Room - spotless. 2 queen beds, an excellent sitting area with a convertible hide-a-bed. Room was completely comfortable with 3 girls. Bathroom had all necessary accoutrements. Morning breakfast was definitely plentiful and staff was smiling & happy ! Parking - no charge !!! Crazy ! Uber to Seaport = appx $10. Would definitely recommend this hotel due to staff & room. Note - area surrounding the hotel is a bit rough. We had no issues but just should be aware.

This hotel is not so easy to get to. If you are not paying close attention, you will miss the turn in and have to loop around a bad area to get back. Parking at this hotel is practically non-existent, so you have to park in a lot one block over. I literally prayed our car would be okay parked over night and it was. The hotel is across the street from Boston Medical Center and Boston University Medical Center which means ambulances are coming and going non-stop with sirens blaring (they provide ear plugs in the rooms, but we couldn't hear much from our room on the back side). There were all types of people walking up and down the street in the front of the hotel, so keep that in mind, and I will keep it at that. There were also some ladies strolling up and down the street behind the hotel at night. The hotel itself is fine. Hotel staff worked hard to make our visit comfortable and enjoyable. Outstanding job. I'm guessing this hotel is convenient for families with loved ones in the hospitals across the street. We used our points for this booking; otherwise, we may not have stayed here on the last night of our vacation before flying home the next day. It was definitely an eye opening experience.

Staff friendly, helpful, shuttle bus driver was amazing to ensure he got us to our Hospital appointment on time. Breakfast was good, rooms clean and large. Convenient location. Noise level from outside was a bit loud but not as bad as other places we have stayed. Loved the ear plugs they provided although we did not use them. Would definitely recommend Best Western plus Boston. The price was right!!! Floors were nice and quiet.

Having read all the reviews for this hotel I'd like to put searchers mind at rest. Yes, the area is dodgy but the hotel facilities and central location more than make up for the neighbourhood. We walked to a local diner, the Liberty, for several meals and didn't feel threatened at all. It's by no means a safe area after dark but if common sense prevails you'll come to no harm. Just take a cab everywhere if you're nervous! The hotel itself has great staff, very accommodating, friendly and polite. On our last morning we were taken up the road to the Diner by the shuttle bus as it was scorching hot outdoors!! The rooms were well appointed, great linens, bedding spotless and lots of towels for the bathroom. We were a group of four adults sharing one room and there was plenty of space, on a long weekend of record breaking temperatures the air conditioning was amazing, quiet and extremely efficient. Pity there was only one of the two elevators working as it meant for quite a few long waits getting to and from floor 6, there seemed to be multiple excuses as to why it wasn't fixed in four days? Nevertheless, a good hotel and one I would recommend.

We happened to arrive on the hottest day of the year, which may have something to do with why the lobby was so hot, the candy in the vending machine was visibly melting. The staff was pleasant, and the place was clean. The room had a window AC unit, which I had never seen in a hotel before... but it did the job. There was also a fan in the room, which I thought was a very cool bonus, as I need one to sleep most of the time. It smelled weird, but I assume they use some strong cleaning solutions since it's a pet friendly hotel, so left it at that. I was scared when I saw the earplugs on the nightstand... but I didn't use them, and I never heard a peep. The area that this hotel is in the middle of is known to locals as "Methadone Mile". Just stepping outside the hotel, once you pass by the armed guard, you will see people using drugs, withdrawing from drugs, nodding out from drugs, or asking you for money to buy drugs. It is truly scary and sad. Again, the hotel itself is fine, but do yourself a favor and get your Lyft or Uber right at the door!

The hotel staff were all very nice and helpful. The hotel was very clean and accommodating.The bed were very comfortable and the breakfast was AWSOME.I would definitely recommend staying here to all my friends and family as well as strangers

I was in town for a conference and stayed three nights. Though not the greatest neighborhood, as other reviewers mentioned, the hotel had security and I felt quite secure. There was a plenty sufficient hot breakfast in the morning, and the room was very clean. I heard several staffers speaking Spanish to guests, which I thought was a good selling point for travelers. The only thing I found frustrating was that the different front desk workers gave different answers about the shuttle services -- one saying they'd take us to Northeastern and come back for us, but another refusing to send the shuttle later in the day. All three shuttle drivers I spoke to over the course of my stay, however, said they absolutely would do that drop off and pick up. We ended up having to call an Uber a few times, though, since when we called the shuttle the front desk wouldn't always send it. It seems there is some confusion among the staff.

The room was clean and comfortable, as usual. The staff on duty at the front desk and especially in the breakfast room were friendly and accommodating. One complaint: Our room was not facing the road but the heavy equipment rental place in the back, which is for some reason a source of loud banging noises throughout the night. The rooms in front are quieter, although traffic noise comes through. Luckily earplugs are provided! An oasis of respite in the south end of Boston.

This hotel is in a very questionable neighborhood. Homeless people/drug users surround it. Was approached numerous times for money. Bars on all lower windows, security guard in front lobby. Only 8 parking spots on actual premises, the rest are across the street where you are warned to park at your own risk. There is no where to unload your luggage so you have to schlep your belongings. As far as I could tell, there were only 2 luggage carts and they were quite elusive to find. Staff went looking but came up empty handed too. Only 1 elevator working so wait time was excessive. If you are able bodied, I guess it would be tolerable but when traveling with a person in a wheelchair, this place is the pits. A/c in room not consistent. Told management daily but was assured it was working fine.. have a photo showing thermostat at 77 degrees during the night.

Special thanks to Okemia the operations manager for going out of her way for us. She was friendly and extremely helpful and hospitable. We didn't know the area very well and she made sure we had proper transportation. We would definitely come back for her great customer service. Thank you !!!

The area around is poor(Roxbury) so the price of the room I was surprised by the price being over priced. The location is in a high poverty area of Boston. The staff was excellent and had no issue checking me in early.

The hotel staff here are great and the rooms are extremely clean I had no issues with the hotel itself other than AC not working I didn't saw on other views that people had very similar experiences with that not working that was my only gripe. The breakfast on the other hand was the best breakfast I ever had at a hotel I look forward to it every single day and took full advantage of it staff down there kept it very clean it was organized had lots of varieties of food and I was very good quality and I was impressed with that. The room itself had great amenities everything was very clean and organized it was a very modern. However if you're not familiar with the area outside they call it and quotations methadone mile there's a lot of people out there that use drugs we saw needles and on the ground so people doing drugs many people approach you when you're outside of the hotel asking for money. Although I'm telling you this don't let this deter you from staying here at the hotel staff takes all precautions necessary and did an incredible job of combating that they had great and professional security staff that was watched outside of the hotel and car is parked in the Best Western Lots all staff was aware of the situation outside and was very helpful with directions or how to get around certain places of traffic to the city overall I thought this is a great experience with my only gripe being the AC not working in the hotel but for others not where the area just know that they do call it methadone Mile and there's a lot of drug addicts and needles around their hope this doesn't deter you just wanted to give you an honest review of the hotel I stayed it was a great experience overall!

The reviews are true about this hotel being in a seedy part of town.However, We walked over to the restaurant across the street & nobody bothered us w/soever. Just don't plan on strolling around after dark. All the rooms are suites & very modern. Great bed, great shower & all super clean but not very large. A great deal in the midst of a town w/ alot of very overpriced rooms. Free parking & free b/fast, as well. We would certainly stay here again. Recommended. Be blessed & maybe drive down into town instead of catching the hotel shuttle to the train. Just a suggestion.

It was late night when we checked in for medical purposes at Dana Farber and we'd never been to Boston before. It's nothing special outside but inside is friendly, clean and very comfortable. Parking is free as is the delicious breakfast. Room was spacious and beds were so comfy. Staff helpful and friendly. Highly recommend

I wish I could give this hotel a worse review. Stayed at the hotel July 4th weekend to see Phish and thought it would be a great option since it was close to the venue and dog friendly. One word to describe this stay: a mistake. The hotel is infested with flies and there were dead bugs literally crushed onto the walls in the room we were staying. Our first floor room had windows that did not lock and there were about 3 junkies sleeping under our window each night we stayed there. When we returned from the concert Saturday night, there was no electricity in the hotel-is that a joke? We also watched a young kid who was getting off work get jumped as soon as he left his place of work. The area is so sketchy and none of what is advertised about the hotel is true. Lastly, and this is the kicker, the overnight staff accused my guest and I of bringing people back to the hotel and smoking in our room and "refused to answer the door when the manager was banging on the door." THAT NEVER HAPPENED. Instead, of checking their cameras they automatically charged me a fee that has still not been refunded, not to mention the manager acted like she was doing me a huge favor when this event was completely fabricated by her staff. Instead of accusing guests who are paying to be there of something that never happened the hotel should probably concentrate on being able to accept cash (WTF kind of hotel doesn't accept cash) and keeping heroin addicts from sleeping in their parking lot under guests windows. I will be calling my bank for a full refund.

This location felt unsafe. It was not suitable to walk a pet. There is signage in the handicap accessible parking spot to "park at your own risk." Previous reviews mention these concerns and I agree with them.

This hotel is clean, well organized and goes up and beyond to answer questions from customers. The hotel is within walking distance to the Art Museum, Fenway Park, and the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. I would definitely stay at this hotel when planning another trip to Boston.

Room was nicely configured and the bathroom was spacious. Be aware that the hotel is near a major hospital so you will hear sirens through out the night. They do provide sound proof ear plugs. It is also a little ways as far as walking is concerned from the freedom trail but not too far from public transportation and Uber was a lifesaver. Lovely diner within walking distance for breakfast!

Hotel staff and hotel amenities were excellent, however the hotel is not in a great part of town. Police positioned outside at all times. Cargo containers on the move all night long which were extremely noisy.

Absolutely lovely hotel, especially for the price. Seems to have been renovated recently, rooms are large (ours was a suite, which very comfortably accommodated our family of 4). Beds are super comfy. Drawbacks are the location- not someplace you would want to walk around at night. That's what Uber's for! Also directly under a flight path. They provide complimentary ear plugs, and I had no problem sleeping. This Best Western punches above its weight in terms of the experience, but it might not make a good base of operations for a family visit to Boston due to the location.

My husband and I did enjoy our stay at this hotel however, we were told by our Uber driver NOT to go out at night in the neighborhood... One block away is the prison and the "zombie" zone meaning homeless and drug addicts... I often stay at hotels by myself when traveling for work and if I had to stay here alone, I would have been freaking out. With the zomibe zone also comes lots of noise at night.

My room was excellent - loved the decor and atmosphere and french door leading from the living room to the bedroom. This was a perfect stay for my weeklong work trip - simple, no fluff, with everything I wanted and needed...including a deluxe continental breakfast. The only downside is there are many ambulatory and police vehicles and a generally busy street outside the premises - ear plugs at night cancelled this noise and was not an issue for me.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, nice breakfast, comfy beds in large well decorated rooms......unfortunately let down by poor double glazing, no prior warnings given until you enter your bedroom to find ear defenders......so this is a known problem to the Hotel. If you wish to stay awake and listen to all the sirens and noise pollution from the street all night then this is the ideal place for you to stay. A good hotel spoilt by something that could easily be rectified.

Really nice hotel for the price! In fact, it was one of the best prices we found for the Boston area, which can be very expensive. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay there again.

Very comfortable, clean hotel, good breakfast and 24 hour coffee at reception, nice room size and most people importantly free parking. Located outside the main tourist strip but a short 10 minute Uber ride into Downtown - will stay again.

Booked ahead on Agoda and got a great rate per night US$109 per night. We stayed two nights. On the last day we wanted to extend by one day. The rate had changed to US $585 per night. We refused to extend the extra night and booked into a major international hotel in the heart of the city at a materially lower rate than they quoted. It was a hassle but we were not going to be ripped off. The hotel is excellent, great rooms , clean, modern , really good breakfast with fantastic staff and security. It's in a terrible area, next to a drug rehabilitation hospital.its quite scary to venture outside the hotel to the shops / supermarket across the road. Summary 1. Providing you get a realistic/ commercial/ acceptable room rate the hotel is a really good 3 star hotel. 2. Staff fantastic 3. They run a shuttle bus to key points in the city. I would shop hard for a central hotel in a safe area before I booked here again.

The room was spacious and beautiful. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. It isn't in the best area of town we found out later but still felt safe. Not far from downtown Boston which is where we went.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Room was a suite and fabulous for our family of 5. Yummy breakfast in the mornings and the two gentlemen who worked the breakfast were fabulous. The location was not great. Police officer always outside 24/7 and many people just roaming around outside. Was fine during the day, but we didn't go out after dinner. Elevators were under construction, so that was a bit of an inconvenience. Hospital right across the street, so some siren noise, but not terrible.

The fabulous staff outweighs the irritation of the surroundings. Sal Teixeira, General Manager, has assembled a magnificent staff. Those include Yudelka (in charge of the Breakfast Room), Pable (the shuttle driver) and Okemia Credle (operations manager) are superb finds!

Terrible location and hotel issues with HVAC / elevator. Manage HVAC despite numerous calls did not work and it was 75 degrees in our room all night. While we were standing in the lobby waiting to go out, a couple of fireman were there looking at surveillance tapes because someone down the street started a building fire and ran by the hotel in the daylight hours. They told my wife and I do not walk away from the hotel, nor take the subway in that area always use Uber or Lyft.. The reason is there is a very large Methadone center in the hospital that is close by. Therefore all the Meth heads hang out on Massachusetts Avenue which is where the hotel is! At $350 a night there are many other hotels to stay at that you can walk from.

If you stay here, request a room away from the street. The outside noise was hard to avoid at 4:00 am. We experienced a car 'concert' from a nearby parking lot that woke us up. Then within the hour witnessed an arrest directly below our winfow.

The room was well appointed while the staff were generally very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in the deal and was OK but not great. The location of the hotel lets it down. There is little of note nearby given it is on the edge of the Newmarket industrial area and close to the Boston Medical Centre. Fine if you need the medical centre but it does mean being disturbed by sirens and large trucks passing by at all times during the night. Being under the Logan Airport flight path doesn't help either. You know you are in trouble when you find the hotel leaves earplugs by the side of the bed - not that the earplugs were particularly effective. Given we could hear the conversations in the street outside while four floors up, it is time to renew the window glazing with something more effective.

Room was nice, good location (though in a not so great area never felt unsafe in the hotel or waiting outside) - the shuttle service provided to the T stations was awesome, and excellent location for cheaper ubers from the other parts of the city/late at night. Excellent breakfast. All staff was super polite and helpful!

I had an excellent stay! Staff was very polite and the room was beautiful and clean. The breakfast was constantly filled with fresh hot food. Although it is not in the best of neighborhoods I had no safety concerns at all.

This hotel is located in a rather seedy location, and has armed security in the lobby (sometimes right in your face as soon as the second set of doors open). The hotel staff initially seemed quite pleasant, little did I know that the hotel staff and security watch your every move. Part of my work involves conducting recorded interviews. Given the amenities surrounding the hotel, I decided to conduct two interviews from my hotel room. Upon entering the hotel with my 2nd interview I proceeded to the elevator and as soon as I reached the elevators the security guard came running up from behind and immediately asked me to come with him.We only walked a few feet away from the elevator when he began questioning me as to what I was doing and who I was bringing to the hotel, stating that he and the hotel staff had seen me bring another guest earlier. This was highly unnerving, and caught me completely off guard. I had no idea that my stay was being continuously monitored. I explained my line of work and the basis for having my two guests. Subsequently, the security guard attempted to defend the basis for his inquiry. Regardless, the damage had already been done, and the episode was so humiliating that my guest felt too uncomfortable to sit for the interview. I can appreciate the need to maintain a safe environment, but In this situation the security guard really overstepped. I travel regularly for business and have made it a point to stay with Best Western whenever possible. Given this experience I may need to reconsider my choice and accommodations.

It was a nice room with good staff. A few things were a little concerning but I doubt it'll change. Not really fault of hotel though. Shuttle drivers were great! Breakfast room staff was great, convenient location!

A methadone clinic, jail, homeless shelter x2 and a garbage transfer station within a couple of blocks sets the stage for this hotel. I was approached for money before I even exited the cab upon arrival. Hotel was fine but dated and came with ear plugs, not a good sign. Don't know why it is considered a Best Western Plus. Would not recommend!

I only stayed overnight but it was a very comfortable night, i always enjoy staying at Best Western Hotels because I know what to expect. The breakfast was enjoyable and the workers throughout the hotel were very attentive and pleasant.

This has to be the most unusual Best Western Plus Motel I have ever stayed in! This Motel is actually round which gives it a very unique lay-out everywhere especially in the rooms. It is hard to explain but you will love it. What was really screwy was the big screen TV was in the separate bed room and not in the living area with the couch. The Staff was absolute outstanding. They are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the city and where to eat great meals. The only down side is that it is located in a less than desirable neighborhood!

The staff at this hotel is simply outstanding. Friendly and always willing to help - hotel staffs don't get much better than this. Complimentary breakfast is far better than what most hotels offer. No, the neighborhood isn't good, but it's not as bad as you might think. The shuttles to the T stations are great. My only complaint is that that the rooms are old and need to be refurbished. My room was clearly a smoking allowed room in the past, and not enough was done to get rid of the odors, which seemed old. Other rooms might be better. I wish the owners would put as much care into the facilities as the staff does into their jobs.

With a family member at Brigham and Women's Hospital just under 2 miles away, we were unable to find accommodations in a hurry nearby and landed at the Best Western Plus Boston. The price was excellent! The neighborhood was not so great, but once we entered the doors at the hotel it was like another world. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, the beds were really comfy, and the staff went out of their way to help us with everything we needed. The building itself is circular and quite interesting, I wish I had taken the time to find out its history! For dinner we took a 5 minute walk to the nearby dona havana Cuban restaurant and had an amazing experience with fun food and atmosphere, highly recommend that too! The hotel also offers the shuttle to the hospital and other local areas which we did not take advantage of. This is a great jumping-off place, don't pass it by!

Let me start by saying the hotel staff was amazing. Everyone was friendly, happy and went out of their way to make our stay amazing. Our first room the AC stopped working and they immediately sent the engineer and changed our room. Front desk answered every question. Breakfast staff made us feel welcome and valued every day. BUT - the neighborhood... I felt very unsafe just stepping two feet off the property. There was security at the hotel, and I felt safe in the hotel. But I didn't even attempt to walk anywhere and didn't even try to go out further than a walk from the front door to a cab with my child. So great staff, comfy bed, clean rooms, but just an unfortunate location.

I came to Boston for a conference and found this hotel easy to access downtown Boston. The shuttle service to the subway is a nice touch. I was in a suite and it was spacious for me and my husband. There was a maintenance issue and the front desk was quick to respond and send someone to fix it. Good service and was happy with the free breakfast.

We knew we made a poor choice when ALL and our uber drivers said “Do NOT go outside” when they dropped us off/picked us up from the hotel. They call this area “Methadone Mile” because there is a vagrant drug problem. A man started yelling and banging on our window at 7AM. It lasted for almost 15 minutes. We were on the ground floor, and could just hear frightening things from outside. We had absolutely NO problems with the staff and the rooms were clean and perfectly fine. I just don't think for $300 per night you should feel unsafe.

The hotel is in a relatively central location to downtown Boston. The hotel front desk staff was very accommodating in presenting a sheet of paper with recommended restaurants, historic sight seeing places and how to get around Boston. A personal recommendation is to go to Bar Lyon (within 5 -10 minute walk) Great food and atmosphere!! I would like to say that the front desk staff (especially Clare) but all staff were very professional, helpful and very accommodating when checking into the hotel and assisted me with any questions. Highly recommend this hotel as the price was reasonable and clean.

I stayed here because of they are a brand name, near down town and easy to find. Except for the hourly sirens from ambulances or fire trucks racing by throughout the night, it was a nice clean place to stay.

Suite is clean and the design is great. Breakfast is good with fruits and good waffle dough quality. Location of the hotel is OK. I would take the hotel again. They have an airport shuttle. So I only need a transport to downtown Boston.

Stayed the night at the Best Western because it was the cheapest I could find. The room was clean, large, and the shower worked great. My room did face the street and I could hear the police or fire sirens as they passed by the hotel. I plan to stay there again when I return to Boston for business.

We have stayed in Boston several times over the last four years and usually stay in Quincy. This time we tried the “round” Best Western. It's in walking distance of Berklee and had parking for our cargo van we brought to move our graduate. The staff is super helpful with directions, tips and ideas. They even loaned out umbrellas! Breakfast offered a variety and was one of the best we have had. The neighborhood is on the edge of sketchy but there was always a security guard in the lobby. Outside was a bit noisy with the hospital nearby but ear plugs are offered in the rooms. We were very happy with our long weekend at Best Western and would definitely stay there again. And they have warm cookies every afternoon!

This hotel is located on "meth mile". There were drugs & police activity all night. Do NOT bring children!My children are still having nightmares from the stay here. Not just visually disturbing but loud and obnoxious at all hours of the night. The police run the people away..they come right back all night long!

The hotell is situated in a quite tough Neighbourhood with alot of drug users. The rooms are old, but clean and big. The front desk personel are nice, but there where quite a lot of things that disappeared from our rooms...

The hotel itself is clean, the rooms are nice and the staff are extremely nice. The hotel is located in an industrial area near a homeless shelter. The hotel has a security guard there 24 hours. We did not have any issues, however there is a large presence of homeless people, it is really sad.

Room and location was great. The back button and the order button the remote for the TV was right next to each other. I accidentally hit the order button not the back button. Therefore, I accidentally paid over $20 to watch a single movie. A different design would be helpful.

Worse neighbourhood to stay for a family vacation. Just because we had a dog, we stayed here but I would rather pay triple the money and stay somewhere else safe. There was a guy hiding behind the parking and shooting drugs and throwing a needle under the truck. My young kids witnessed it from the room window. There was a security guard on duty 24/7 outside and told him but I don't think he did anything. Do not waste your time and money here.

room was very nice and large, clean and beds were super comfortable! the entire staff was great and accommodating. the shuttle service was a life saver for myself and daughters who needed to get to the red line. made a stop when wasnt on the schedule.

The Hotel was clean other than a few problems we had with the room. Good complementary Breakfast. When we arrived, the bathroom smelled of cigarette smoke. Obviously, a previous guest violated the Non-smoking policy. When we complained to the desk clerk, she immediately assigned us to another room and gave us the business card of the Hotel Manager and insisted that we report it to him. The neighborhood is near a homeless shelter, but is very secure. Security guard on premises, cameras view the parking lot and the area was very secure. Two good restaurants nearby and recommended by the desk clerk. We have been and will continue to be repeat guests due to proximity to Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Price varies significantly week to week depending on the event in Boston. Red Sox opening Day, price went up. Day of Boston Marathon, price went up significantly.

In a terrible area. Hotel isn't great and has no pool. Staff weren't allowed to grant a discount they said I was perfectly eligible for even though I followed directions from previous Bw staff. Cleaning staff also left the window open on a cold day.

Hotel room was clean and updated. Staff was friendly, even the vendors we seen. The breakfast was very tasty and was a wide variety. Would have liked to see flavored creamers or flavored coffee tho. Small parking lot, but it was free. Also liked the armed security guard who was out within 90 seconds of a car alarm going off (we had a veiw of the parking lot) it is downtown right by the hospital so we expected some noise however there was construction that started at 4am! Not the hotels fault but would have liked a warning. They did provide ear plugs in the room though, so assuming they had people complain before. Would definitely recommend to people.

First impression goes a long way! That's what both my wife & I experienced through Best Western! The welcoming staff & amenities BW Plus has to offer was impressive. Great breakfast selections & shuttle services to Back Bay & Andrew-Red Line is a bonus for visitors. Rooms are clean & beds are very comfortable. What else can you ask for? It is discomforting to see high security around the premises but it does warrant attention because of the neighborhood. That would be the only drawback but I felt secured during my stay there. I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

Stayed here for one night with my 4 friends and it was PERFECT. William is a great night employee. Other management is great too. Free shuttle service, water. Just great people. It was hot in the room at first and they gave us a fan. ❤️

Last minute booking prior to surgery. Clean hotel with solid breakfast offerings. Very convenient to the city. Not in the middle of the hustle and bustle but only a short Uber ride from it all! We'd definitely return as it's a good value and location.

Yes, we are thrilled with the service here at the Boston Best Western. Everyone has been so friendly and helpful. This is my first time to Boston and we are traveling for college visits in the area. Okemia Credle has really been looking out for us (my daughter and myself) and she goes the extra mile in helping us get to where we need to go. She has set up shuttles, arranged for tours in the area, and made an arrangement for us to get to Northeastern tomorrow morning. Our shuttle driver was also very friendly. Everyone seems to enjoy working here and in turn that helps us to enjoy our stay in Boston. Thank you for such a positive experience. Also, everything is real clean and very nice. We were given earplugs to help with road noise, but I don't think that I will need them.

Initially, we made a one-day reservation but then expended it. So in total, we had 2 days and it was a good stay and a good location plus free parking! Easy to reach downtown and tourist area while staining in not SO expensive area.

I had a good stay at the Best Western Boston hotel. They have a scheduled shuttle that takes you to the subway station and back. The room is large, clean, spacious and very comfortable. Staff is friendly. Good breakfast.

This is usually a hospital visit for us and this hotel is ideally located. We made it Brigham for 9am and back to Boston Medical for a 10am. The rooms are clean BUT this visit had a very disturbing site as the Air Filter to the Air Handler was DISGUSTING! I posted the location of the furnace and the actual filter AND a picture of a new filter.

Been staying with this Best Western for at least 7 years and has always been a good place with super clean rooms,friendly staff, free parking, and great free breakfasts. A little bit outside of the main city but a free shuttle to ruggles T stop station at Northeastern University makes it easier to get around Boston without the hassles of parking in the city. The hotel inside was clean and modern and the room was spacious and comfortable. For the money, this hotel is a value for the Boston area. But, before you book your stay, you should be aware that the hotel is located near a homeless shelter and methadone clinic. There are many homeless, and people under the influence of substances in the area of the hotel. I did not encounter any bad situations, but some people may find this uncomfortable. Also, the area is very noisy at night time. I usually sleep with a window open because I like the cool, fresh air at night. Having the window open amplified the sirens (the hotel is short distance from a hospital), dump trucks, and helicopter sounds heard throughout the night. My second night was better, as I used the provided earplugs, and slept a distance from the window. Overall, I would visit this hotel again, because the staff was extremely friendly, I felt safe in the hotel, and the room was spacious and clean.

This hotel provided friendly staff, excellent service. Rooms and other areas were clean. Quick Uber rides to many Boston locations. Only reason for 4-out-of-5 rating is that the price was a little higher than I typically like to pay, but may have been in line with other Boston hotels. (We stayed here to be with family who had already booked, so I did not research other hotels in the area.) Breakfast was good, staff in the dining area could not have been more helpful or friendly. Room amenities were as expected. A very pleasant stay!

The rooms were very nice and the breakfast was outstanding. Don't go outside though because the population there is not the best. Turns out there is a homeless shelter nearby. I saw drug deals, prostitution, fights and other horrors all in the area. Sirens were outside my bedroom the whole trip. Staff was nice and the rooms were nice. The area was sketchy!

Use to be a great place to stay during business trips into Boston, it is no longer a place I would feel safe at or go back to. The stench of weed is all over the hotel and one can not escape it even in the rooms. The amount of police that were in the lobby and around the hotel during the night was rather disquieting, the hotel security did nothing but stand in a corner. The door to the room was on a tilt so bad you could see into the hall way through the door frame.

Hotel condition is excellent. Rooms are newly renovated. Rooms are extremely clean. The staff is very helpful. The price is very reasonable and affordable. With Uber you can get anywhere quick and easily. The breakfast is very extensive and well stocked even when hotel is full.

The hotel reception area was well lit and well maintained. The rooms seem recently renovated. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked. The breakfast staff was the highlight of my stay. Hotel parking is located in two unmanned open surface lots with varying lighting not immediately attached to the hotel property. I highlight this because the hotel is located in a bit of a dodgy area. Concerning enough that I dropped family off first before parking. To be honest guests likley choose this hotel for its value and certainly not location.

Despite being in a not so good neighborhood we have stayed here for several quick stays. Employees are very pleasant. Parking not so good. Price has increased prob bc rooms have been updated. Never had a problem until this stay. We were awakened at 2:30am bc of a noisy rowdy group outside. Will stay here again bc it's central to places we like to visit in Boston.

The hotel and the rooms were very large and spacious. The breakfast was free and decent for grab and go stuff. The hotel staff was friendly, nice and helpful. The parking is free but not secure and you are in a pretty sketchy area. There is nowhere to pull up and unload/load your luggage (or small children that we had). It was wet and snowy and no clear path was shoveled. The price was unbeatable. For the one night we had to stay it was fine. If you are planning a vacation stay out of south Boston so you feel safe walking around the city.

Not one of my favorite best western hotels but at a very reasonable price. Comfortable and large rooms with a small living area. Good selection for breakfast. There's a target few steps away if you want to get something to eat at the hotel, rooms have microwave and a small living area as I mentioned before. Loud was not really a big problem for me or my family Not a great location, its actually far from the main sightseeing area but they have a really good shuttle system to go downtown and get back

Good value within 10 minutes by car of major areas like longwood and the aquarium. The immediate area is low income and not walkable to sites. The hotel was clean, had updated rooms, free parking, and a free breakfast.

Interior of hotel was fine, rooms acceptable...but you are taking your own life into your hands if you choose to stay here. Arrived on a Friday evening around 7pm...stepped out of the car to drug paraphernalia (used needles) all over the parking lot. Walked around the corner to find a man crouched behind another car “shooting up.” We were locked into two nights for a youth sports team outing, took our chances and survived...but will never even come close to this Best Westen ever again

I was pleased with my room comfort. Very clean, newly renovated. Comfortable beds! Fridge but no microwave in our room. However, lobby had a microwave for people to use. No blow dryer in room. Still clean quality hotel. When you factor in the value you can't beat it! We had a 350 truck very happy to get a parking lot and not a garage and it was very close. You have a couple gas stations, pizza and Mc Donalds a minute walk from Hotel lobby. I was always greeted coming and going and the staff was always smiling. Breakfast had many choices like eggs, a meat, oatmeal, 6 cereals, pastries, potatoes with toppings, yogurt, oranges, bananas and a bowl of melons, bread, bagels and more. Something for everyone. Very cool rounded building. If you are picky and high standards yet frugal...you'll be pleased. I was very pleased with my coice and I'll be back!

This hotel was easy to get to and is in a cool building in a convenient location in Boston. The staff was friendly. It is a pet friendly hotel, and I was with my pet, but I thought it was weird that they would put pet owners on the first floor of a very busy city on a busy intersection. The noise of people checking in, walking by, cars driving by all night is not pet-friendly. Plus the carpets were covered in stains that I can only assume are from previous pet visits. The carpet did not seem properly cleaned, so I'm not surprised there were so many stains. I was worried my pet would go to the bathroom over an existing stain just because there were so many and it was hard to tell what was clean and what was not. Luckily we went outside and he is a good house-trained dog.

This hotel is great. The bed was so comfortable, you felt totally in a cloud. The service was great as well. We were Allowed to leave our car there after we checked out the next day to take their free shuttle to and from the T-line, So we were able to enjoy downtown Boston without the headaches of parking the car. I highly Recommend this hotel and the price is fantastic.

Stayed there for one night for a conference. I really liked their service - you feel like you are in 5-star hotel: they great you with a smile, and always happy to help. The location is convenient to a nearby hospital and highway. If you have a car, I do suggest to just park it there and take Uber as there are only so many parking spots at the hotel. Although limited, Parking is free, which is great. The rooms are fresh, modern, with very comfy bed. Bathroom amenities are really cool. There is some outside noise that could be heard in the room, so they provide ear plugs. I did not use them and still slept well (perhaps I was very tired). Security is good (they have someone on site watching). I used to live in Boston, and even without security, the area is fine. If you plan to go to Boston, this place should be on your list.

Nice room, free parking, great breakfast. A lot of hotel room for the money. My only complaint this time was that my brother was not able to make it and when I called in advance to modify the reservation the local manager refused to reduce the price. Once I went to central reservations they cancelled my original and rebooked at the lower price. Just an unnecessary inability to locally accommodate a customer.

The hotel was perfect. Great staff, very nice rooms and comfortable bed, and a good breakfast. Didn't have any problems with the location, either. Parking was easy, and the hotel was very clean. Would absolutely stay here again.

The rooms are spacious and welcoming. The staff is over the top courteous. My only complaint is with some of the breakfast items (sausage patty) but it's nothing that caused me an issue with my stay. I like that they have security in the lobby during evening hours.

Good experience staying at best western hotels !! Rooms were big , clean and prices reasonable . I will use best western in the future . Best western hotels good for business Traveller. If they could slightly improve the breakfast is still better .

This hotel was newly renovated. The lobby and rooms as well. Each room is considered a suite with a pull out couch. Coffee maker was provided in the room and the lobby as well. Although the hotel is a mile or so from downtown, it was great taking ubers to see more of the city. The good news, the prices were very reasonable - so we stayed several days instead of just one.

Very accommodating staff. Clare went above and beyond with our requests with a smile which made our stay enjoyable. Their beds are very comfortable and much better than other upscale hotels in the area.

If you are looking for a clean comfortable hotel with outstanding customer service this is the place for you. The rooms are wonderful with a separate sitting area with a couch and desk, and a large bedroom with a very comfortable bed. There is free parking onsite and they provide a shuttle which allowed us to leave our car there and use the shuttle to get around. Breakfast is included with an excellent selection of choices.

This hotel is really nice! The room was even better!! Not only that, but the staff are very accommodating. I didn't get to the hotel until 3am because I had a delayed flight and the front desk lady allowed me to check out at 1pm which was super helpful since I was functioning off of only 3 hours of sleep. I will definitely stay here again!

A good night sleep near Boston Medical Center. The security of the area is not great but inside the hotel is more than fine. The mattress is better, and the room darkening curtains are an improvement over the nearby Hampton Inn. On site parking.

My husband and I had to leave our home do to construction going on. We have a dog and had to find a place last minute. Everyone was amazing from being very helpful during the reservation process to checking in. There was a very nice security guard making sure we were safe because we checked in very late at night. It was very clean! There was free parking (you can't find that in Boston). Even though the area is known for homeless because it is conveniently located by the hospital it is very safe. I would stay here again! The room was very nice with a lounge area and free Wi-Fi.

Overall it was a nice stay. The parking is a little hard to understand when you first get there because we didn't see any signs of where to park. There was a map inside once we went to check in. The staff was very friendly. The lobby got a little noisy during the night, but other than that great. I do wish the rooms had microwaves in them.

One reason we choose this hotel was for the free parking, but we arrived around 9:30 pm and barely felt safe walking from the parking lot, which is on the other side of a small adjacent road, to the front door. Once inside it was great - good service, nice rooms (beds are really high which might matter to some people), breakfast was great.

We really like this hotel. The staff is helpful and friendly. There are free breakfast and free shuttle to bus stations. The room is big and can fit for a group of 5. The room is also very clean and the price is very affordable. The hotel is located near downtown and it takes only 10-15 minutes to walk to many restaurants. However, there are some panhandlers or homeless around the location. I see this problem in all the big cities which we have travelled. This should be solved by the local counties or cities. I will recommend my friends to stay in this hotel if they visit Boston.

Enjoyed our bedroom/sitting room suite - nicely laid out. Comfortable and clean. Free parking is a plus in lot next to the hotel. Front desk staff was welcoming. A good value if business is in South Boston.

We found this place by the internet, first attracted to price and second they have a great shuttle service to the area hospitals. They are the only company that does that in Boston. It was extremely helpful. The driver was very friendly and courteous. The room we were in was very nice. Very clean. The whole room and bath and carpets. Excellent. We were pleasantly surprised because it was so affordable. We will be definitely be staying there again. They have off street parking.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable. Remember you're in a city, loud noises of the environment is a given. They do provided noise canceling earplugs for those who need them. Breakfast was really yummy. Options from making your own waffles to cereal. There are two workers tending the area making sure it is clean and full. Free parking with free shuttles to local t-stations, places of interest, and local hospitals. Perfect for if you are visiting someone at the hospital and don't want to pay for the high garage/valet parking fees.

Very clean rooms and friendly staff. I would stay again. Breakfast was okay- not many hot options available. I used points for my stay so obviously I'm a BW member, but I was not thanked or offered anything for being a member. Being a manager at a BW this is disappointing.

This hotel is in the perfect location with free parking in this city! Cookies were delicious and the beds were beyond comfortable. Most importantly the WiFi was fast! I was able to get loads of work done

Interesting round building with quality rooms inside … not your average square experience. Location very convenient, walked to nearby excellent food thanks to info provided at desk. Staff enthusiasm and attention to detail at check in and breakfast were excellent … much better than average. Felt like the experience you get at a much more expensive hotel.

What a delightful surprise to walk in the door and find what looked like a brand new, upscale designer hotel! The reception people were friendly and efficient, the shuttle "captain" recommended an Amazing restaurant for seafood that was crazy great and not even terribly expensive and he was there waiting for us just as we wrapped up eating to return is to the hotel! The beds were so comfortable, it's the first time I actually feel asleep before 11:00pm in ages! The mini suite was really well accommodated with desk and couch and I loved the fluffy towels and citrus scented soaps and shampoos! 10 stars!!!

I booked for two nights of the hotel. Due to the sickness， I can only use the second day. It is a non-refundable reservation. When I arrived, the staff first told me agoda cancelled my booking so I can only call them to solve it. I called the customer service at Agoda and they told me they never has done that. I went back to ask my room back they still insisted needing time to speak to agoda. I am waiting here now still don't know what the result will be.

Breakfast excellent, staff courteous. Bed was awesome. The outside location has really cleaned up. Your security guards were diligent. The jitney driver was like having an old friend. The little gym was not good.

The room was very nice, had a little sitting area with a wonderful size refrigerator. You have to go to the lobby to use the microwave, not a big deal though because every night they make cookies, you can have your dessert while warming up dinner! Everything was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast I thought was very good. There was hot food, eggs, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, waffles and your cold items too. If you left there hungry, that was your own fault. Something for everyone. Area the hotel is in is a little shady area but we had no issues. Close to the Hynes Convention Center, that is where we were for a conference. The reception folks are wonderful. Worth the stay.

The hotel is very simply decorated. The room was reasonable,but nothing more. Very limited range of breakfast dishes. The reception service was not always welcoming. Fully equipped fitness room, clean and equipped with towels and bottled water.

The location of the hotel is not good but it's 20min walking to the city centre :) The room on the 7th floor was kinda beautiful ! Now, the breakfast was very good and the place very clean ! The staff was great ! A young lady at the breakfast called me by my name every morning and all the other staff was great and friendly too! At reception, Deginet went always above and beyond to make my stay good! Housekeeping team was great when taking care of my room :)

Our cab driver said that it was methadone mile. sure enough there were many people across the street with lots of trash that they looks very homeless. I think someone slept next to my car because there was a blanket and my mirror was pushed in. other than the neighborhood the hotel is very nice itself I enjoyed the breakfast that I was comfortable the score was nice and overall the room is clean.

The neighborhood is not great but the hotel is really nice. Also, the design of the building is really cool, apparently in the 19th century it was an oil refilling station/tank....... There was some noise from the street below but it wasnt too bad.

One of the nicest rooms I have seen in a Best Western... but the area was a little sketchy to say the least... But comparing prices to other Boston hotels this one came in at about half.... My buddies went for a stroll and said they wouldn't probably walk those streets at night but I personally never felt like it was unsafe... I would recommend for buddies out to see a game or other events maybe not so much for young families.. I would definitely stay there again

There is nothing Plus about this hotel. The neighborhood is dangerous. Imagine armed guard in reception area. Outside full of prostitutes. homeless and drug users/dealers. The rooms are OK but not real “ suites”/ sleep area separated by glass door with sofabed. No privacy. AND the rest of the facility needs a major redo in all common areas. Front desk staff average to poor. When we checked in the rate was lower than what we booked but they would not extend to us. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, do not recomment, especially traveling with kids.

This Best Western Plus is better than I expected. While it's not much to look at from the outside, it is conveniently located, easy to find, and has the usual clean rooms and common areas I expect at Best Western. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The free shuttle was an great benefit as we traveled back and forth to BWHospital for many days. The security guard at night is very helpful and attentive. You may read some comments about people in the surrounding area, and it is an active area, but if you stay on hotel property you will never see the people in the neighborhood, and they are not the least bit interested in hotel guests. It's a busy but not particularly threatening area.

A very modest and cozy hotel in Boston close to train stations and major attractions. They have shuttle service from hotel to around 3 miless including Backbay South Station and Andrew Station in red line. These stations feed most of the important places. So have a nice cozy breakfast and go move around Boston. Grayling tours start at 8 Park Plaza mall which this hotel has a drop off facility too. 8 Park Plaza mall has PF Chang , Mexican grill outside and Iron Wok Chinese buffet and Pizza , Dublin donut , Backbay sandwich counter. You can start or end your day here with food. Best western plus has a nice front desk, room was great on top floor with great space and 2 double comfortable beds. We enjoyed like anything. Tea coffee till late evening on lobby with cookies in evening. It really surpass our expectations.

They offer shuttle to and from metro stations. For terrific Italian food at low low prices, visit nearby Aldo's Italian. The room staff is great in cleaning the room. The desk staff is pleasant and professional. I have to give a shoutout to William Cavedon at the front desk who was so helpful every time I have a question. It's a short ride to Alexandria old town also.

We needed a convenient hotel to the train station and this was just several blocks away. They were pleasant and nice. I will stay there again. If there was a downside, it was how far from the T it was but they offer shuttle service so it works.

I check in late and went straight to sleep. When I woke up I found someone's dirty underwear in the shower. Only God knows how many other surfaces weren't cleaned. I'm completely disgusted with my experience here. The manager said he sent someone up right away to remove them right away as if he offered me some sort of free service. Then they offered me a 20% refund which was just disrespectful. Bottom line, just spend a few extra dollars when in Boston and stay at Yotel.

Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I would like better pillows, the pillows had no support Breakfast was so so, waffles were very good but I didn't care for the eggs. I appreciate the tea/coffee being available 24 hrs/day, just add real milk to the counter for those of us who don't like half & half in their drinks All in all the hotel was comfortable with a bit of Boston history in its past

We stayed at the Best Western Roundhouse in Boston for a week last July The hotel is not in the greatest, most convenient area, but for the price it was fine. Our suite was wonderful and the in-room microwave and refrigerator at no extra charge really came in handy. We also we pleasantly surprised that we could use the business center to check our e-mail for free. They offer a shuttle service on a schedule. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from 2 different subway stops, but the location is not the greatest. Architectural this hotel is, as the name implies, is actually round and has a really cool brick exterior. It felt like South Boston somehow. The breakfast was fully stocked every morning and enough choices to start your day, though there were not nearly enough places to sit. The room itself was plenty big for 5 of us, and promptly cleaned every morning. I know overall there are nicer hotels in Boston, but they are usually a pretty penny. The Roundhouse turned out to be a nice stay for us —and an entertaining one. Never had we witnessed a high crime area of a city up close but from the safe purview of our hotel room. They offer a shuttle service on a schedule. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from 2 different subway stops, but the location is not the greatest. Our Uber driver told us that this area is a 9 out of 10 on the danger scale; There is a big police presence partly because their station is a block away, but they do nothing to stop the problems in this area. Someone mentioned there is also a methadone clinic nearby which is why these type of people hang around. There is a hospital nearby so there are sirens all day and night for which they supply earplugs on your nightstand. We stayed there for a week and had a wonderful time. It is in a South Boston area where a medical center, a neighborhood and a warehouse district meet. However, the shuttle will take you nearly everywhere you need/want to go and the subway is only a 10-15 minute walk away. We did see panhandlers near our hotel, but that is a problem that all large city downtown areas have. I went out everyday and bought a newspaper and on couple of occasions walked back to the hotel in the evening and was never confronted by one of these individuals. I walked by some drugged out zombies and homeless people, but nothing was ever said. We found the hotel itself to be a great bargain, with excellent rooms. Ours had a nice sitting area away from the beds, fridge and microwave -and a wide view window looking out onto the chaos below and beyond. The sunrises were spectacular each morning. The staff was very helpful and friendly, especially the the breakfast lady. The breakfast itself, billed as a continental, was very plentiful and had a wide selection of things. Anyone who complains about breakfast here does not know what a true continental breakfast usually consists of, or what it looks like. If you are planning to stay in South Boston, start a conversation with the drivers, you will get some useful information, and their opinion of the Red Sox chances! If you plan on spend much time at (or near) the hotel, I wouldn't recommend this one. However, if you would like a hotel at good value for your money and easily accessible to everything in the city, I not only recommend this hotel, I plan on staying there again myself some day. 

Clean room, well decorated, building has great character. Location is fine, just a short Uber ride to everything downtown, but there were some sketchy people just outside, on the street. Having an armed guard in the lobby made it feel a little safer. Breakfast was also good. The only reason I regret staying here is the noise that went on throughout the night. There is a heavy equipment yard operating throughout the night just across the street. The hotel provides earplugs which are useless. The level of noise was very excessive. I would caution anyone considering staying here, except maybe hearing impaired guests. The blinds do not close and the light from outside is bright.

Terrible terrible location. Locals refer to it as meth mile accurately as I watched from my hotel window at 1am (because of the noise) drug addicts shoot themselves up leaning against my rental car. The next morning I had to walk around syringes on the sidewalk and kick one away so I could get in my rental car. Inside of hotel is fine.

The room was fine except the toilet seat was broken. Told the maintenance worker about it but nothing was done over our three day visit. Otherwise the room was good. The location was great and the shuttle was a major plus taking and picking us up from the subway.

The hotel was very nice and the breakfast was very good. The young lady that was working the breakfast buffet was very friendly and made sure everything was well stocked. The parking wasn't the best, parking out back in a general public parking lot but that's what happens when you stay in the city. I would stay again.

I don't know WHO is giving this good reviews but read my review! this hotel is in the WORST AREA of Boston!!! the staff is friendly and the rooms are clean, but not worth your safety! I rented a car and parked in the lot across the hotel but did not feel safe even walking the half block during the day. There are people doing drugs at all hours of the day...I never felt safe. I would not recommend this hotel....pay a little more money and stay somewhere safe!

The hotel is an older one that has been remodeled in the last five years. It is a completely round brick building that is really cool on the outside. You get free cookies and coffee every afternoon and breakfast is included. You can make waffles, get cereal, muffins, yogurt, bacon, etc... and sit in a nice dining room with a friendly attendant. There is a free shuttle to and from two train stations and local hospitals. It's on a schedule, so get to the lobby early to get a spot (we had four with us and always got a spot). The room was large with two queen beds, a couch, desk and refrigerator. Our view was not pretty due to the location. It's very sketchy outside, but if you only go out to get in the shuttle with the driver, it's fine. Take the Back Bay shuttle and you can ride the train all over Boston. Very easy. Would it have been nice to avoid the shuttle completely and been near all the sites yes, but those hotels were going for $100 more a night or more, so the 10-15 min shuttle was worth saving us $300+. Overall we enjoyed the hotel.

Hotel very nice inside. Clean and well appointed. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Area surrounding hotel not so good. Parking available. Staff accommodating. Free shuttle to airport and Back bay train station and local hospitals in area if there to visit a patient.

Security Guard should make $100K a year, no doubt! I was there on Sunday night, came in at midnight. Awful surroundings. I read the reviews though and couldn't wait to get in my room to get away from the public around the area. I get to my room, and it was very cold. Well, the window was wide open and there is no screen. I closed it, but it wouldn't lock. I was on the 3rd floor but it was reachable from the ground. I tried to sleep and couldn't with the screaming/fighting right outside my window. I believe the security guard fought off anywhere from 3 to 5 bystanders that we're obviously trying to cause trouble. I stayed up from the moment I got there, until breakfast time at 6am. Finally got a bit of sleep from 7 to 10, and then cancelled my stay for the next night and got out of there. I can't believe people were staying there with lil kids. The hotel was kind enough not to charge me for the 2nd night even though I cancelled late.

As much as I like this hotel, but had I known the area better, I would have chosen another place to stay... a few blocks up and spent the extra money. The area is really tough. You will hear sirens almost regularly - hence, the ear plugs at the side of the bed. If you stay, I suggest not walking anywhere, but take an Uber/Lyft even for a few blocks and get dropped off. Then you can walk until your hearts content. I never felt threatened or uncomfortable once in the hotel, but outside, yes. My stay was for one night both a flight arrival and departure with travel outside of Boston in-between. Boston is an expensive city, hotel-wise for sure, so this BWPlus is a great value.

Great place to stay when you're visiting Boston or heading farther up north to the New England States. Comfortable beds, a nice gym and a good breakfast. Friendly workers who can help you find a good place to eat. You won't be disappointed.

We stayed here for several nights. The hotel is clean and I felt housekeeping was very good in our room. The suite was spacious for the 2 of us. The bed was comfortable. You can hear quite a bit of street noise (and we were in the top floor). They do provide earplugs in the room. The bathroom could use some cosmetic repairs but the water was hot and pressure was good. Breakfast selection was what I've come to expect for this level of hotel; overall mediocre and baked goods were dry. The room was crowded on Sunday morning but not crowded during the week. The evening cookies were pretty good and a nice treat. We had a rental car for one night and we were able to park for free in their lot about 1/2 block away. The negative of this hotel is its location. This is not the best part of Boston for walking. If you use ride services then you will probably be fine. We walk a lot and walked many times from the Orange T station on Massachusetts Ave as well as the Red T Andrew station (each almost 1 mile away). While I never felt unsafe I had the benefit of traveling with my husband and we stayed very aware of our surroundings. Massachusetts Avenue is also very well lit which I appreciated. The hotel does offer a shuttle to a couple other T stations (1 Orange and 1 Red) which is another option to get where you want, but it requires meeting the shuttle scheduled trips. If this hotel were in a different location I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is nice and clean. The staff is great, and the rooms are amazing. Breakfast was good too (good choice of hot and cold items). The hotel offers a shuttle to/from popular metro stations. Decent parking in well lit area. One bad thing is that the hotel is not in such a nice area, so be careful at night.

Booked this hotel for a one night stay, whilst visiting Cape Cod. Did so in a hurry and failed to read the reviews! Unlike some people, we paid a lot for our night $200 and as soon as we arrived it was obvious that this was not a nice area. Down and outs everywhere and people openly injecting behind to hotel and opposite. The hotel left ear plugs in the room - clearly it wasn't for the road noise! We were woken several times in the night as arguments took place between groups below us. I have never been so relieved to see my car - still in one piece next morning. When I went to get it I felt I had walked into a zombie movie! Large groups staggering down the road! Just made me feel unsafe, and as an ex cop there's not many places that have done that to me, The hotel itself was fine - clean and well presented. Staff were helpful and we booked into the room really early which was ideal. The shuttle bus took us directly into the city and picked us up later in the evening, drivers were great and flexible.

We found the room to be comfortable, but would not recommend for light sleepers (although ear plugs are provided). The breakfast was great and the courteous and helpful staff get 5 stars. Free shuttle service was provided and worked well for my husband and I, but I would have been uncomfortable if I had been traveling alone.

The area is rife with drug addicts. They line up along the building at night. The sneak into the lobby to take drinks and terrorize guests that are there. The hotel is also in a place where heavy trucks rumble by all night. A really bad location.

The hotel, rooms, and staff were all acceptable. First the positives. The hotel provides frequent free shuttle service to and from the subway system. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. On the negative side, there were two issues that would not allow me to recommend this hotel. First, there were a large number of homeless people/addicts in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. We were never threatened by these people but we were advised not to walk the streets after dark. The second problem was the outside noise. The hotel is located adjacent to some medical facilities and sirens could often be heard throughout the night. The hotel provided earplugs to dampen the sound but they were inadequate. If you are looking for a quiet nights sleep in a safe neighbourhood look elsewhere.

Our room was large and had what we'd asked for, 2 queen beds, and a comfortable couch too. We were delighted with the accommodations. It is located reasonably close to the airport too. Very nice. The neighborhood was not comfortable, though. The people around the motel appear to be making deals and acting very strange.

Never would I stay here again. Now I know why the price was reasonable. Their were people on the hotel doorstep and all around the building shooting up Heroin right in front of us. They were also lined up across the street day and night. We did not feel safe at all. Every time we left the building people were begging for money and smokes. This activity went on around the clock from the time we checked in until we checked out he next morning.

don't go out front for any other reason than to get a cab because otherwise you will be accosted by the homeless. They stole my phone. Even going outside in broad daylight to get a uber found us being accosted by people asking for money, cigarettes and food.

Our large suite was absolutely lovely! And this was probably our best night's sleep during our 12 day holiday. The bed was super comfortable. All of this for an amazing price in “downtown” Boston. The reason why is location location. As we looked out our window, we could see drugs - dealing and partaking. Walking from the parking lot in the rain, we found ourselves face-fo-face with the group. However, no one messed with us or our car. The police were present quite a bit too. All that said, we would stay here again at that rate.

My rooms, seven in total were excellent, and hotel staff were very good. All seven rooms that my party occupied were all suites and very well kept. Apart from very many homeless people around the neighborhood, the value was excellent.

Everything was wonderful about the hotel. Up to date decor, nice breakfast, helpful staff, very clean and comfortable, however being located near a hospitals meth center made the outside crowd at the hotel rather uncomfortable.

The hotel was placed in one of the worst areas imaginable. The staff is doing an incredible job. The people handling the food are great, especially Ludenka (Probably spelled her name wrong). The staff was top notch. We were lost getting back to the shuttle stop and they came and picked us up where we were. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and I'm sorry they are in that location. Bryan

I booked this hotel at the end of August. I had previously read the reviews about the sketchy neighborhood, but was not too concerned (it is still sketchy). Once we got to the property my family did become concerned with the area we would be staying in so I followed the directions in the confirmation email to cancel the reservation online. There was a $215 cancellation fee for canceling the day of the reservation, which we were fine with and fully understood. The cancellation confirmation email said I would be charged $215.10, but my card was charged $248. I did not received any email or explanation as to why the charge was that much. I gave it a week to see if they would refund the extra $30 - maybe it was an error since we cancelled the same day? Nothing was refunded, so I emailed them at the address it gives if I have any questions. That was a week after the reservation was canceled. I did not receive any email back, so two days later I called and was told my reservation "was never cancelled" and the receptionist does not know why. If the reservation was never cancelled, wouldn't they have charged the FULL amount of $1000+ to my card? It did not make much sense to me. The receptionist told me there was not a manager in and to call back the next day. I called back the next day at 2pm, where I was told he was busy and to leave a message, so I left a message with a call back number. Two days later and still no response, so I called again today and was told none of the managers are in and won't be in until 1pm, that I can call back and send them another email. After multiple attempts over a week to contact them to figure out why I was overcharged I have not been helped at all, only told that the managers are never there, but that I have to speak with one of them to get a refund? This was very poor customer service that needs to be addressed.

Upon locating the place, we were scared seeing all the druggies on the block, and even wondered if our vehicle would still be okay in the detached parking lot. (Thankfully, they have a security guard to watch the cars.) Once inside, the hotel was fine, as was the service. But, neither of us would stay there again.

Lots of homeless and drug users in area, unsafe to go out side. Found needles and human waste by our car!!!! One of the window panes didn't go to our window, it was smaller and didn't fit. Gaps which you could look through allowed bugs to come in, plus noise from street and the homeless/drug users.

Only thing bad about this hotel is the local homeless across the street. Well kept room and friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was decent. It was in walking distance of Fenway. For the price, you couldn't beat it.

The staff of the hotel was terrific! We arrived early and the staff did what she could to get a room ready early for us. this little act was very appreciated since it got us into Boston earlier to enjoy more time there. Unfortunately, the area is not the greatest. I hope that gets better for the sake off the Hotel. The area does not reflect how nice the hotel is.

The hotel was fine. It was fairly modern but it's located in a troubled neighbourhood. Parking is adjacent to the hotel. We left our motorcycles there for 2 days without issue (but likely because there was nothing to break into and steal). It is security patrolled at night for added security. A 20-min walk or quick taxi to standard restaurants (Applebee's, etc.) and other shopping. The hostess in the breakfast lounge was very accommodating. She runs a tight ship, keeps the place clean and efficient! Staff were helpful and courteous. The room had a few issues. The TV in the sitting room didn't work at all, the toilet handle was broken (so I fixed it), and then there is the noise. As previously stated, it's in a bit of a dodgy neighbourhood that is more industrial than commercial. Lot's of large dump trumps / waste trucks filling up at the gas station next door. A lot of banging, sirens, etc.. We slept fine (for the most as I get up early) but if you like to sleep in, perhaps consider another location.

Hotel staff were great and very supportive of our requests. We stayed two days for a Family reunion and booked three rooms. The inside of the hotel and rooms were clean and very comfortable. The downside and negative for this hotel is the Parking locations and availability. There are quite a number of homeless and few people on drugs and other people loitering around the back side of the hotel and across the street from the hotel. The hotel does have Security camera's and Security guard at the front entrance and we felt safe. We're from NY so weren't bothered by the people but people not used to seeing homeless people or people on drugs might be uncomfortable parking their car at this location. The hotel does have adequate general parking but most of the parking it is not directly on the same premises. The Hotel had only two Handicap parking spaces near the front of the hotel and the other parking spots were in the Back of the hotel, across the street and at a shared Sunoco Gas Station parkinglot. We had no issues with the parking our car other than seeing Homeless and people on drugs, they didn't bother anyone. We did notice that at night around 9PM each night the police did clear everyone out of the areas, but they returned bright and early in the AM. The Daily Breakfast was very good and the staff there was very helpful each day. They offered make your own Waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, Oatmeal, cold cereal, fresh fruit, as well as Juices, Coffee and Tea. The was kept very clean and replenished with the various options. We saw all type of Business and family types of people going in and out of the hotel each day. We would stay at this location again!

I am a Best Western Rewards member. My experience in the hotel was EXCELLENT. I was quite pleased with my hotel room. The reason my review is a little lower is because the neighborhood is not great. Some may have a problem with that, but I think the hotel makes up for it by providing convenient shuttle service to red line (Andrew) and orange line (Back Bay) stations. You can also request special drop offs to selected locations. The drivers, especially Carlos and Pablo, are the best friendly faces for the hotel. So, if you don't have a car, you can get around the Boston metropolitan area without a hassle. Also, the food grill across the street is actually pretty good if you need a quick bite and don't want to go out.

4 adults had daytime water activity as well as evening celebration plans and needed a place to make the transition and sleep before travelling to home the next morning. We didn't need the higher priced hotel in the best location. We found this affordable place and were very pleased. Yes, I did read the reviews about the unsavory neighborhood, but was sure that we were smart enough to be completely safe. We even walked at twilight to a Washington Street restaurant, Stellas. We did uber back to the hotel of course. I would recommend this place to friends and family.

The hotel is in a kind of desolate industrial/hospital area, so there's not much in terms of restaurants and places to go within walking distance. There are a lot of homeless drug addicts who congregate in the area behind the hotel where the parking is, some openly shooting up in the middle of the day. There are needles scattered around the sidewalk, so don't wear open toes shoes. The room itself was comfortable inside, but it was on the ground floor with the window on the main driveway of the hotel, so not very pleasant. Unless you're visiting someone in a nearby hospital, I would not recommend staying here.

Stay away. Right in the middle of a drug zone. Walking dead. Smoking crack in the parking lot and all around the hotel. Drug deals at night. Spaced out people staggering in front of hotel, as we were dropped off at night. Walking from the parking lot to hotel is like uncomfortable at best. located in an industrial park next to a methadone clinic. You can't walk to any restaurants. Don't stay here. AC in room was not working properly. Breakfast mediocre. Toaster didn't work and the staff new it. No security at front entrance.Book any where else but here.

I stay at Best Western hotels when I travel as I find they are good value. This Best Western Plus was as nice of a BW hotel that I have stayed at. Great clean room. Comfortable bed and spotless bath. Lobby and breakfast area very nice and inviting. But once you walk out the door to the street it is a different world of drug addics and a large population of homeless surrounding the hotel all day and night. The car park is totally open without visible security. If this hotel was in a better area I would give it 5 Stars.

This hotel is clean and a historic building. It is up to date. I booked this hotel because it had FREE parking. They offer a shuttle service on a schedule. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from 2 different subway stops, but the location is not the greatest. The area is very noisy! It does offer complimentary breakfast.

The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms were bright and seemed recently renovated. Very comfortable bed! Good lighting. Hotel location is kind of sketchy but was somewhat central so super easy to Uber almost everywhere (downtown and Fenway) in about 10 minutes for about $10. I walked to the grocery store in about five minutes. There's a liquor mart in the grocery store. Target just past that. Gas station right beside the hotel with light snacks and drinks.

We stayed for 2 nights. Given the wrong room at first, another guest let himself into the room we were given whilst my daughter was undressing. We then had to gather all our luggage and move to another room, no apology. On returning home and checking my bank statement, we had then been charged $150. When I eventually got through to Best Western not the hotel direct as they never responded to my e mails. The reason given was that someone had smoked in the room? No evidence given just that there was a smell of smoke. The company wound not intervene as it was at the discretion of the hotel manager.

Our carpet next to our bed had a suspicious orange stain and the hotel provides earplugs and Sleepytime tea for the loud sirens that keep you up all night, but failed to place the Sleepytime tea in our hotel room. Our view is of trash and the homeless people crowding the area. For $220+ a night STAY AWAY! This area does not feel safe or cozy at all. They do provide security, but only one person right next to the front entrance. I assume this primarily is to keep the drugged up people from entering the building. The parking area is well lit so you can clearly read the signs stating they're not responsible for any theft. Though the room is decent once you make it in, I do not recommend this hotel, especially for the hefty price when you can find a much safer and cleaner hotel for the same price, if not less.

Why anyone would stay her is unreal. There are cops and drug dealers all around this hotel. Don't put yourself in danger by staying here. How people give this a 4 star is unreal. Dont waste your money

The hotel staff and service is excellent. There was close and adequate free parking. The breakfast was ample. The setting was clean and well supplied by an extremely attendant staff. The hotel is not in the nicest neighborhood but it was comfortable and clean, the service was excellent, and it's a short Uber or taxi ride to Fenway stadium.

We were visiting our daughter in July, high tourist season. Hotel rates were very high throughout the city. We decided to stay at a Best Western because the price was under $300 per night—one of the few hotels we found in this price range. We understood that it wasn't going to be a luxury hotel. The room was a typical room in this category—no frills, but very clean. However, we do not know Boston and came to discover that the hotel is in the worst part of town—known as Methadone Mile due to all of the drug dealers/users and meth clinics in the area. Drug-related activity was happening right outside the door of the hotel, and groups of users/sellers were gathered across the street—we could see and hear the activity throughout the night. We found Boston to be an incredibly expensive hotel city when we went. But we wouldn't stay here again due to the location.

If you have a car and are driving to the hotel I can't think of 1 reason not to go somewhere else. I wouldn't park my car outside that hotel. Do yourself a favor and do a quick online search of that street and you'll see reason enough to skip this hotel.

We reserved a room with two queen size beds. When we got to the room there was only one. It was a bit of an inconvience because we were in a hurry and it took some time to get it straightened out and get a new room. The room/hotel facilites were great, the location is a bit sketchy.

Location is really in tough area although staff is great and very helpful.It is hard to get such personalized attention in bigger hotels sometimes.It has very easy access to local transport. I enjoyed with front desk staff , breakfast crew,- yudelka , van drivers- Henrique/ Pablo

Hotel clean and updated. Decor modern. Suite was nice and bed reasonably comfortable. Neighborhood industrial and a little sketchy. Unsecured parking down the street or behind the property without direct access to hotel or grounds. Many warning signs in lobby and in parking areas about locking cars and keeping windows up and hotel not responsible for damages.

Accommodations, staff, and Best Western facility was very nice. The surrounding area was extremely frightening and uncomfortable. It is a very tough area with fighting and drugs close by. I woke at 6:30 am to screaming, yelling and physical fighting. I was scared during daylight hours to be outside. Again, you can't move the building but the location would prevent me from staying here again.

Having booked the room late afternoon of that day and arriving at the hotel at 10pm, I thought I was going to get the worst room. To my surprise I ended up in a wonderful room on the 7th floor (top floor). The room actually was 2 rooms and a bathroom. The rooms had been renovated since my last stay here about a year ago. Everything was modern and clean and with all the amenities one could ask for. The check in was quick, the hotel stay went great, the rooms was quiet and to boot there was free parking, and all this for less than $90. Wonderful!! The only downfall was the neighborhood which was not so great, but there were a lot of police present and it was safe.

This hotel usually offers clean and updated rooms at a good price. It is very convenient to Fenway Park and has a shuttle. Area around hotel is main drawback, with next-door drug rehab clinic. It simply is unsettling to see so many drug-dependent folks in close proximity as you come and go from the hotel. The hotel also appears to offer little to no security or monitoring of parking around hotel.

The service and accommodations are fantastic; however, the neighborhood isn't what we anticipated. It's nice to catch a quick taxi/Uber/Lyft ride to downtown, the Wharf, etc. If you have a vehicle, the parking is free which is nice, but you may not want to leave valuables in it.

when i booked the hotel i was assured by the call center in arizona that it was in a good part of town and "very nice" once i got there there was police activity all over the place with 25-30 homeless people and many hookers around it. the whole area around the hotel had fences and barbed/razor wire around everything. i felt very unsafe and i tried to get my money back from the hotel but the did not refund me. i felt very unsafe and my rental car would have been at risk of being broke into. I will never stay or use best western again. i will do everything i can to spread how bad the customer service is with this company. Best western officially made my trip horrible and regrettable.

The hotel room itself was very nice. Extremely comfortable beds, a mini fridge, and plenty of space. I was in town for a Red Sox game, and while I would not want to walk from there to Fenway and back, an Uber ride was only about $11. Parking at the hotel is a bit scattered and not the best. The area of town is not great, and there are a lot of homeless around, but I didn't spend much time outside there so it didn't really effect me. All in all, I'd stay here for a night or two again if I was on a budget, but I'd try and look elsewhere first.

Great hotel in Boston Nice hotel in Boston. There is a transfer. There is a shopping center nearby. 10 minutes by car to the city center. Not far from Logan airport. Free Breakfast and very tasty. Large spacious room. free Internet. During a visit to the hotel broke the TV, it was replaced very quickly. Recommend.

Location is horrible (not the hotels fault I know, but still horrible) with us watching people shoot up drugs right across the street as we looked out the window. We also witnessed at least one drug deal out there as well, and when arriving back to the hotel after a concert we attended, we came back to a bunch of homeless people sleeping on the ground next door to the hotel. Again, I understand that the homeless must sleep somewhere but it really took away from the overall feeling of a safe location with all that we saw while there. There were at least 30+ people hanging around high as kites throughout our stay, with WAY more late night...probably closer to 100. Not an exaggeration either. Very sketchy! I was very worried about my car being broken into as well considering how many people were out there loitering (thankfully it wasn't, and we had a handicapped parking pass so we were able to stay next to hotel/on site rather than off site like most of the other guests). The other issue was one of our bath towels had a huge dark stain on it which was gross and the towel was folded in a way that it wasn't noticeable until you go to use it, and the desk seemed to have dried syrup or something from a previous guests breakfast maybe? Also the “full” breakfast options are pretty limited and I wasn't impressed with the breakfast at all. Over all, even though the hotel was decent as far as set up and the room itself, we wouldn't stay here again!

DO NOT STAY HERE. Drug addicts and prostitutes everywhere. This hotel is extremely misrepresented on its website. They will not refund money. I will never stay at a Best Western anywhere again because of the way they handled my reservation refund.

The hotel was ideal. The service was excellent. The cleanliness was A+. The breakfast offered a wonderful selection. However, the location of this hotel negates all of it's good . You cannot walk outside the hotel. It cost us a fortune on Ubers to get to and from this location. People who wanted to smoke couldn't stand outside for fear they would be bothered by the riffraff congregating across the street.

I think this hotel may be seriously damaging the best western brand. I stayed here due to brand reputation and expecting the same quality and safe location as every other BW Unfortunately this was very much a feeling of being a star in your zombie film. While I appreciate the world is not all bows and ribbons i didn't expect to charged $140 for the pleasure. Considering the Sheraton in the centre of town was offering room for $150 I have attached a picture of the after party at 1 point there were 50 people gathered at this spot “getting wrecked” as one person told me.

This was a very clean hotel with pleasant, accomodating staff. However, the neighborhood is not good. My car was vandalized the last night we were there. The manager was sweet and offered a discount. I don't fault the hotel, but I won't book again. The Boston cop referred to the area as crack alley.

________________________________________ You must be informed the surrounding area is totally UNSAFE. Roxbury is one of the MOST unfortunate areas in almost all of Boston. I am very disturbed that the photo's and the comments are favorable for this place as getting from your car to the two parking lots that are away from the building is the most frightful experience I've ever had. There are 6 parking spots close to the building and always taken. I feared for my life every night getting into the hotel and this was also during the day. There is a methadone clinic near-by as well as 2 hospitals and the streets were littered with drug addicts, dealers, prostitutes and the like. I witnessed a woman who was having serious withdrawal symptoms in the parking lot one car away from mine. The police had come to help her but it was a horrifying scene to say the least. The place also said the rate would be one price and then added an extra $300 plus dollars at the end and this was done in a sneaky, unjust way where the woman behind the counter kept saying 'you signed the paper upon arrival' and I did, but at the end when the itemized list came out they had added ALL these extra 'fees' and would not negotiate a refund of any kind. I did NOT appreciate their being sneaky and unwilling to adjust the price, really bad scam to say the least. I cannot support people who do this to other hard-working people who are there on business or visiting people at the hospitals.

The only downside was the outside. It is sketchy. But they have a shuttle to take you to the T. So you really don't need to be outside much. The were very accommodating and great breakfast. Just plan on going other places to eat and don't plan on walking unless your brave.

This is really a tale of two rating criteria: room quality and setting. The rooms here are very nice; I had a suite with all the amenities, clean and functional. Breakfast is good, the fitness center is small but useful and the service is way above average. Sounds like a great place, right? Not if you look outside. The immediate area seems to be the place of choice for vagrants in Boston--they are everywhere lurking around (not in the hotel, which has no visible sign of security). Parking is in the back of a gas station lot, which caused low level anxiety the entire time I was at the hotel. In short, this place is located on the fringe of a dicey neighborhood leavened by heavy industrial establishments. It is something of a food desert, except for a nearby McDonalds. So, if you have a high tolerance for urban dystopia you will enjoy your time at this hotel. Otherwise, steer clear. It's a shame because this would warrant a four or even five star rating in a different environment.

I would have put a zero out of five, but that was not possible. I was put in a frightening and potentially dangerous situation, and have only met with rudeness and dismissal from the staff of both this hotel and corporate Best Western since then. A man walked into my room a few hours after I had checked in, because the front desk had double booked us into this room. Despite owning to their mistake (a trainee was left alone to check me in), they did offered no recourse and only apologized or offered a new room after I went to the desk and demanded an explanation. I asked for the manager to call me and he/she never did (this happened a week ago on Sunday, June 3). I checked out immediately and have not heard from the hotel or from corporate Best Western despite lodging a complaint and, again, asking multiple times that the manager call.

Very nice, but terrible neighborhood. City is beautiful, worth visiting Boston. A lot historical places to visit and many restaurants to pick from. I would definitely come back.but like any city, be aware of your surroundings.

A great, historical hotel, close to a big hospital, centrally located but not in the tourist area. Very clean inside, good staff, clean, large, luxurious rooms but just outside the door... Yikes! especially after dark. We took Uber everywhere but stayed in lobby until they were outside.

Deginet was phenomenal! She helped me with every facet of the stay and made the experience a wonderful and comfortable one. I highly recommend it! The room was spacey the breakfast was wonderful. I forgot my bag in the dining room and before I even asked, a nice gentleman came to give it back to me.

As soon as we pulled up to check in someone overdosed in front and had to be taken in an ambulance. Filled by dozens of drug using zombies patrolling the property at all hours of the day. Not the place you want to be for a night in the city.

Even though the room was nice and the staff very professional, your like a prisoner in a cell since you could never roam the streets because of the homeless and drug people around the building. Plus when the hotel provides free earplugs to their guest, it cannot be an enjoyable stay. That is what you get when you do not read trip advisor before a friend books a room. First let me say that the rooms were large and VERY clean plus the staff was very concern about internal security. But with loads of people in the parking lot waiting for the methadone clinic to provide them with drugs, the location of the hotel is not a safe environment. Add the hotel is just down from a large hospital that has ambulances arriving with sirens all hours of the day, you can see where the free ear plugs are provided. This hotel is just not in a quiet or safe location. The reason for our trip was to take in a few games at Fenway Park. We were told that they provided a shuttle to the games. However, this proved false and only took you to a location so you could take another form of transportation to Fenway. And with the view outside the hotel, the hotel shuttle leaving me in an unknown location seemed like an appalling situation. Look, the hotel was clean and well kept but you want to at least feel somewhat safe when you pay the large fee they demand for a room. This was not how we felt at this hotel. Do yourself a favor- spend the extra money and stay somewhere that is safe and you do not need ear plugs.

There are DOZENS of homeless and drug addicts right out front and across the street! There is no parking within the hotel property; you have to park on the side of the hotel across the street “AT YOUR OWN RISK” (there was a sign). No place to drive up to check in and unload your luggage; no bell hops, so you have to go inside and get your own cart and load and unload your luggage. Not good at all. There are many other hotels at comparable prices away from this environment with better surroundings and service.

Although the suite was great, the staff wonderful, and the breakfast plentiful.... the surrounding area was the flaw. If you need to be near the hospital, than its excellent. BUT, the constant ambulance sirens and police cars all night was difficult to sleep. Surrounding areas seemed to be struggling with the economy so walking around was not an option. They have a great shuttle to take you to the nearby train but we chose to do the $12 uber on the return from the wharf area to get door to door service, that was a wise choice !

The hotel and staff we're wonderdul but there is now a homeless camp and methadone clinic next door! Very scary. Also a gal was pooping in the parking lot upon our arrival. We we're warned by another guest to watch for needles.

Let's start by the bad. The noise at night was terrible. There was construction in front of our room all night long. We had trouble sleeping for the two nights we stayed there. At least the rooms are renovated and are just fine. The service was pretty good. However the breakfast and the gym were disappointing and the location isn't great. Anyway, avoid staying there if you actually want to sleep.

Nice to have a shuttle to take us to the train but it was very discouraging to not have a ride back from the T at night. Stops way too early and walking from Andrews Station was not only tiring but could be unsafe.

Nothing to write home about, but met our needs. Room was clean but with slightly outdated furnishings. The bed was very comfortable and front desk was helpful. Be advised, hotel is near Roxbury where you may see a few homeless folks. Location is near hospital district and the hotel has shuttle to subway and back.

This hotel is not downtown so if that is what you're looking for, move along. That being said, I did walk to the hotel from the Haynes convention center one night - good exercise. The rooms were clean. My room was ground floor and had lovely prison bars on the windows. That was reassuring. The outside noise at night was pretty bad. I think some truck unloads or loads something around 3AM - maybe a dumpster? I also had some issues when I discovered mid-stay that the polite but inept clerk double-billed me. The manager was very sincere and apologetic, corrected the issue, and found a way to placate me.

Stayed 2 nights in top floor. Pro: + Friendly staff (especially at breakfast) + Big, clean and quite modern rooms + Breakfast is good + Shuttle Service to subway station every 45 minutes + Free parking lot Con: - Noisy Noisy Noisy The hotel is close a medical center / hopsital and you have aroud the cloud extreme noise from the ambulance / helicopters (siren, horn, etc.). The insulation / windows are very bad/thin. Beside of that there is big junction with a lot of traffic and trucks in front of the hotel. Additionally the service room or whatever this is create a permanent loud humming noise (I told reception but there was nothing that can be done). That means overall a hotel were you are not able to sleep (and yes we had ear plugs) is useless and does not fullfill the main function. - Next subway station is 20 minute walk - The area in general is a bit dodgy and some people might feel not safe - The price (240$/night) is much too high under this circumstances. So it should be 1 point but as there are some pro's I give 2 points which I think is more than generous. Would I come again? Of course not and I highly recommend not to chose this hotel. I am really disappointed from Best Western as I made good experiences in the past. You should really terminate your franchise contract here to protect your brand.

The hotel is conveniently located near 2 train stations. There is a shuttle to take you to the stations but the time can be a little better. However, they are very accommodating. the rooms are all suites- clean. The breakfast is very satisfactory- with a nice variety. Also, accommodating. The staff at the front desk has a lot of patience and will go out of their way to help out and give information. Thee are no additional charges that some hotels are now charging- ridiculous! I recommend it.

my stay was great, I liked their breakfast it was good, it was a large room, I will tell all my friends about that Best Western in Boston, and it is right in the city. I will stay again in that Best Western.

This hotel itself is classy from the receptionist through the beautiful appointed rooms. The room was clean and quiet and the beds were very comfortable. We had a mini fridge,a couch in the room and it was spacious. Outside the hotel entrance is a little dark and shady at nights and there were some people were just hanging around on the corner. They serve a hot coffee around the clock in the lobby and had a free breakfast that we weren't able to take advantage of. We ate at The New Yorker Pizza and Grill across the street and It was delicious! Stays open fairly late too. Besides being a little pricey, that was my only drawback, but, we would stay at this hotel again. Most comparable hotels I looked at in the area were in the same price range. Receptionist was sweet, professional and helpful in booking a cab for our early am flight. The hotels van service runs to airport only and starts at 7:00 am. We weren't able to use it.

Hotel itself is fine and staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, we found it to be a good value and conveniently located. Breakfast buffet was sufficient - they had a nice variety and changed up the hot items so there was something a bit different each day. As others have mentioned, surrounding area is a somewhat sketchy. I was thankful for the free parking but a bit concerned about our car. However we had no problems on that score. The building is old/historic and the window let in sound and are drafty. There is a lot of traffic noise, which didn't bother me. And the heavy drapes helped with the draft. Room was furnished nicely. A previous occupant spilled something pink on the carpet, leaving a big stain. Other than that, decor and cleanliness were fine. Here's the part I find sub-par and annoying. We booked a one-bedroom suite. I even called hotel directly to confirm two separate rooms, not a studio. Came with mini fridge but no microwave. There is one is lobby, so that wasn't too bad. However there is no TV in the living room. Really?? We expected downtime due to weather and thought to use our living room as a place to hang out - with guests - maybe watch some of the marathon. Also, while bedroom is a separate room with a door; the door and part of the wall are glass (like French doors). No curtain, just a giant wall of windows looking into the bedroom at the bed. So zero privacy and if one person wants to sleep in one room while another has lights on in other, no protection from the light. The configuration was disappointing. The building being old and neighborhood are not easily fixed. It is what it is. But adding curtains to give privacy to the bedroom and having a TV in the living room are something management should address.

Clean property, very nice staff and the shuttle was great! Shuttle drivers were polite, kind, and an absolute pleasure. Parking was available, but not ideal in that area as it was either out back or off site. Breakfast was good too, great service and variety of food in buffet. On the outskirts of city center, but the shuttle made a huge difference. Thank you!!

Delightful overnight stay in Boston. Rooms comfortable, well supplied. Comfy beds. Informative and efficient check in process. Great breakfast bar, attentive, friendly staff.Nearby Cuban restaurant was excellent.

Close to a bus stop and a McDonald's and McDonalds. I've read reviews complaining about the loud traffic outside, but I can't say it bothered me and I thought it was neat that there were earplugs on the night stand for guest use, just in case. I've also read other reviews complaint about the hotel being in a sketchy area, but I never had a problem or felt unsafe. I used the bus to get around mostly, but used a Lyft to get to and from the train station, although, if memory serves me, they do have a shuttle that can take you to the Amtrak station. The staff was friendly, helpful, and very informative at check in and were able to help me with directions and questions. I'm not sure when I'll be in Boston next, but I'd stay here again.

Deginet provided the best customer service I've received in my 33 years. Her as well as every other staff member I came into contact with we're extremely warm and welcoming. My wife and I felt right at home. Our whole experience was wonderful. I can't say enough about this place. I doubt we'll ever have as great of an experience as we had here for such a reasonable price.

I stayed one night on a personal trip. Staff was friendly and courteous. My room was nice with separate living/bedroom space which was different to most rooms in this price range. Bed was comfy and bathroom was spacious and clean. It was nice to have a refrigerator in the room as well. Wi Fi signal was very good. While the hotel was very good, I wasn't sure about the surrounding area! I am not from the Boston area so I cannot be a good judge for this. Hotel does provide shuttle service to the popular areas of Boston which was nice.

Stayed here while attending a convention at the BCEC. It was an easy drive between the two. Parking here is awkward. Walking through a gas station parking lot to your car with all of your suitcases is weird, but free parking is hard to come by in the city. Room was ok. It was clean, but carpet stains and a missing outlet cover showed signs of wear. Breakfast was good, standard fare.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the front desk staff. Sal the manager went out of his way to make sure that we had a enjoyable stay .The hotel is great ,the beds are extremely comfortable. Rooms are very clean and modern style. They remodeled hotels recently except the exterior. They gave me two sets of the earplugs being afraid of the noises outside. Free wifi is fast. Breafasts are simple but everything is perfect.

Residents living in facility next door to hotel were loud, belligerent, angry. I feared for my safety. Staff was very dismissive when I vocalized my concern for the groups of angry people fighting in the street outside my windows.

this place is adjacent to a major hospital; additionally there is a commercial trash company around the corner and very early every morning I was awaken by the thunderous sounds of an army of large trash haulers speeding by the hotel and making a huge noise with every bounce through the many potholes in the roads

The neighborhood wasn't great, but hotel was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was super and the attendants were friendly and helpful. Shuttle drivers were fantastic—even took us a couple of places that they didn't usually go. Would definitely stay here again.

Manager at the hotel was very rude and didn't care about customer service. As a frequent Best Western customer, it was a shock to experience a property that didn't care about customer service. Strongly discourage staying here.

This hotel is located in an area frequented by drug users and other sketchy characters! It is at the edge of an industrial area and across the street, especially at night, there are a lot of sketchy characters and I am sure, lots of drugs. For the hotel itself, it is not that far from most tourist spots in Boston. It is five stories tall and all rooms are supplied with ear plugs because it can be quite noisy. The rooms are nice and well kept for the most part. We had one with two queen beds and a sofa bed. The tub/shower and toilet are in a separate room. They serve breakfast every morning and it is pretty good. Eggs, sausage, breads, fruit and waffles as well as juices and hot drinks. It is well stocked and the folks taking care of it are very nice. The staff is also very nice and responsive. They have a complimentary shuttle to two different transit stations including the East Bay station, which is where Amtrak comes into town. We took a train from NYC and were picked up at the station. Very convenient. Not a bad property if you are into going for walks after dark.

Absolutely horrific. Could not figure out parking on arrival, homeless people everywhere either selling or doing drugs, my husband was approached by a dealer to sell him rock, all night loud talking by the dumpster outside our 6th Floor window where there were again drugs being exchanged and consumed, vomit outside by front door from where they feed the homeless in the morning. Just overall a horrible experience....

The room was very satisfactory with a king size bed and queen sofa suite with plenty of room. I will use this hotel again because of the great price and an uber ride to the city is only $10. The outside noise thru the night was very noticeable so this property may not be right for light sleepers.

The rooms were spacious and clean. I do think they need to use key card access on the elevators so not just anyone can come onto the floors as the location is not ideal. Breakfast was ok not great. The staff were friendly.

We were here for an unexpected extended hospital stay for a family member. They were extremely helpful and understanding of our circumstances. Our room was extremely comfortable and roomy. Breakfast is just ok but honestly the room makes up for that. The shuttle to the hospital is wonderful. A wonderful experience all around!!

Let's start with outside the hotel, there are what appears to be addicts in my opinion all around the hotel. There is a dumpster across the street which seems to be the hot spot for all these said individuals. When you enter the hotel the staff is friendly and nice, check in was a breeze. When we get to the room, the bathroom tub looked like it hasn't been washed since last used, there was hair in the sink. The carpets looked dirty. The covers smelled. I had to keep saying to myself one night and then we leave. I am from New York and a lot of the hotels have shelters in the hotels in certain areas of the city. I asked the front desk if this hotel had a shelter in it. She responded no, but I have a gut feeling that was a lie. Some of the individuals I saw at the dumpsters were coming back and forth to the hotel. The last straw for me was when the toilet clogged and over flowed. I called the front desk, they send someone with a plunger to fix toilet. I asked when can it be cleaned, they said not til 9am in morning. I have my children with me, are you telling me bathroom is out of commission til 9am. I packed all our stuff and left. Never again.

The room was clean, fast check in, free breakfast with delicious options, free cookies and coffee at the lobby, I checked out late at no extra charge, good location, close to dinner and gas station, i booked a room with two beds and had an extra very confortable pull out couch too

My husband and I were checked in by a less than friendly representative. When we arrived in our room, we began to settle in only to find the restroom had not been cleaned. There was urine, hair and feces on the toilet seat and some kind of off color stains brownish on the wallpaper. I immediately made my concerns known to the front desk and was moved to another room by another very helpful employee, while the first representative who checked us in made snide comments under her breath. Both floors reeked of marijuana. We even had the smell coming in our AC vents during both nights. I didn't get a good night sleep either night I stayed here. Bring your own cleaning products, air freshener and maybe security. It was not a pleasant or safe walk from the parking area. Never staying here again!

Front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. Rooms were very nice, newly remodeled (at least the one we had!), but the area is just too sketchy for us. The second night i was awoken at 1:30am from a seriously loud fight going on right outside our window. scary. Also, they leave ear plugs for you in your room - there you go!

Although a bit noisy from outside traffic, the hotel was a great choice for us. We were there for almost a week while going back and forth to a Boston hospital. Access to the hospital was via free shuttle and there is free parking. At any one time, we had anywhere from 2 to 3 people in our room at any one night. The staff was always friendly, outgoing, helpful. and concerned about our medical issue.

Another comfortable stay with Debi Webb and her Amazing crew! It's Always fun at the bar, connecting with old friends and New! Grateful for all the hospitality:-) ~ upon leaving in after a foot of snow fell, one of the staff cleared off my car for me! Now that's Service!! Many Thanks ~ see you all again soon!

The area is a little rough here almost didnt stay that is untill i met the staff who were amazing! I must say i ask one for there name because she went above an beyond an put me at ease jameela m connell

A friend and I spent the night after visiting a patient at Boston Children's Hospital. The location was convenient to the hospital, but not located in a good section of the city. The free parking was a plus, but homeless people approached our car at the corner. We watched drug deals going down across the street. The hotel itself was pretty good. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast buffet was delicious, and the exercise room was nice. However, we could feel the cold air coming through the closed window.

I encourage you to consider your safety and the amount of sleep you will need. I spent one sleepless night in this hotel. The room reeked of smoke and there was so much noise that it was impossible to sleep. The hotel manager was beyond rude and has horrible customer service. My alarm clock was broken and when reported, I was given an additional broken alarm clock. I asked for a courtesy wake up call since my alarm clock didn't work and still didn't receive that.

Best Western has overall made nice upgrades to their hotel, but this hotel had a funky smell as soon as you walk in, and my daughter & I immediately had an allergic reaction to the air quality in the room and had to use our inhaler. With that being said the lady at the front desk was extremely kind and allowed us to cancel our reservation for the night with no fees and we went somewhere else. Also for me who is not familiar with Boston this location wasnt the safest feeling.

There was a group of people, possibly homeless, hanging around the entrance. The receptionist was very tactful and handled the situation very professionally. I actually asked if we should be concerned about our safety as I had no idea what the the circumstances were prior to our arrival. We had our vehicle broken into on a previous trip to NJ., so we were concerned about parking. My sister was having surgery at a local hospital. It was important to be close to her and have stayed at your hotel chain in the past. Very happy with our stay.

Staff is great, room was clean and comfortable, breakfast is good with the service staff very attentive to the customer needs. Two drawbacks; first is the area has a large number of sad and homeless characters that are around the hotel and second is the lack of a secured parking area. We would return but both are a definite concern. Enrique, the shuttle driver, went above and beyond to pick up my wife and her close friend during the blizzard last week at Brigham & Women's in his own four wheel drive vehicle - now that is great customer service!!!!

Pros: Great staff. Went above and beyond to help. From early check in to lending a snow scraper tool for my rental car. Homemade cookies everyday at 5:30pm with coffee and tea in the lobby all day. Breakfast had a good variety, although the hot foods could be better. Security guard allowed me to make a quick sandwich a few minutes prior to the 6am opening for my early flight. Cons: Quite a few undesirables hanging around the outside of the building and making a lot of noise throughout the night, even when the temperature was below freezing.

We stayed three nights here. The room was nicer and bigger than we expected and was almost a suite. Breakfast was quite nice and the dining room was large. Wifi was strong. We liked coffee (and other drinks, at times cookies) available for 24 hours at the lobby. A microwave in the lobby was also useful. The only negative is the location. We did not see anything dangerous during our stay, perhaps because we were in the middle of extreme cold. It took us about 10-15 minutes to walk from Andrew Stn (red line) and 10 minutes to a silver line stop at Washington St & Mass Ave. The shuttle service to Back Bay and Andrew Stn was quite useful, although its frequency was somewhat erratic. Overall, I think the hotel offers a very good value and would definitely go back.

Excellent decor. All amenities were in great shape. Staff was professional and friendly. Parking was not so great but it is complimentary and considering hotel being so close to downtown it is still a big plus. Breakfast was another high-point of our experience. Put together, it was high-star treatment at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Not the greatest area of Boston, but accessible to all major roads. Hotel itself is clean and extremely well run. All staff very pleasant and professional. All amenities were as promised with no problems or glitches. Saved a bunch of money to spend on everything else we wanted to do. For our purposes this was a perfect place to stay.

Had to stay over night to catch next day's flight. Hotel was easily reached from the Airport by SL1 (free) and then by SL4 and a final short walk. Back to the airport by free shuttle to Red Line station, then again by SL1 from South Station. Friendly service and good breakfast. No complaints whatsoever.

Choose this last minute (several hours before checking in as a matter of fact). I was glad I did. It was convenient to the places we went. Sadly the area is not so nice. A bunch of addicts and bums all around. I didn't feel unsafe but can see people not choosing this place due to that. It really is a great place to stay.

Close to highways and within close proximity to all Boston has to offer. Great hotel with friendly staff , comfortable beds and pillows, and delicious breakfast. Highly recommend a stay at this hotel. Even parking was very secure.

Hearing protection is provided because of the outside noise which is counteracted by the most comfortable bed I'd ever slept on. Just wish I didn't wake up numerous times during the night. Staff was very accommodating: I checked in past midnight and was allowed to check out at 1300. Made it to the complimentary breakfast and enjoyed the waffles, coffee and croissant, however the fruit salad was fermented/spoiled. Overall great experience though. ??

This hotel Is really nice. Close free parking right out your window, uniquely designed rooms, very comfortable bed and super clean. The breakfast included was delicious, lots of variety. We want to go back again real soon. Love the prices and quality of this hotel, can't wait to return. Thank you.

If you want a good night sleep DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! BIG LOUD trucks driving by beeping the horn ALL night long. Was staying there due to an early hospital visit for my daughter. Not only was I stressed out about the visit I was exhausted do to not getting any sleep because of the trucks outside the window.

As this was our first time visiting Boston, we didn't know what to expect. But we were pleased our hotel was considerably close to our train station. It was a pleasure to get into the warmth of our hotel seeing it was so cold outside. The front desk clerk, Maureen, who greeted us once inside, was extremely pleasant. She handed us the welcome package with the greatest smile. We felt right at home immediately.

Although the room was clean, it was impossible to sleep due to the BIG trucks driving by all night and blowing their horns. My daughter had an early appointment at the hospital and thought staying in a hotel close to the hospital would be best since traffic is sometime a 2 hour commute in. I was very wrong!!! I have been up all night. This is the worst experience I've even had and it's going to make for a very long day at the hospital. The person at the desk ask what my room preference was when I checked in, I did mention we where there over night because my daughter had an early appointment at the hospital and we needed a good night sleep. VERY EXHAUSTED MOM HERE! I have pictures of all the trucks lined up outside the window.

The hotel is clean, the staff is helpful and friendly and the breakfast is terrific. It's in a fairly industrial and sketchy area, but we were never bothered by the many street people in the area. The shuttle drivers are awesome, going over and above what was necessary. Would certainly stay again if ever in Boston.

This hotel was very comfortable, the service was exceptional. The quality of our rooms was amazing. The only draw back is if you wish to get to the activities in the downtown area you cant walk. You would need to drive or get a cab. Otherwise the price for the experience was awesome. Would book it again.

Great deal for Boston is the outside noiuse of all night loud vehicles bouncing over some kind of bump to enter a facility is OK with you -- they supply ear plugs and you need them. It is also 3/4 miles from the nearest T stop.

The location of the hotel is very convenient. The staff at the hotel are quite warm and helpful. The breakfast spread is quite good and there is something for everyone. The evening cookies and tea / coffee is such a nice and welcoming thing that this hotel uniquely offers. We stayed as a family and enjoyed the comfort and the amenities. Great experience and very good value for money!!

It was my first time in Boston. The staff was very helpful and very friendly. They were answering all my questions when I needed it. It's a noisy place because of the proximity of the hospital and a big road but they provide ear plugs. I have no problem sleeping through the noise so that did not bother me. I did not take advantage of the shuttles to the nearest subway stations because the schedule did not fit mine but I had no trouble reaching a subway station by bus or by foot. I wouldn't mind going back but I would understand some people not liking the place because of the proximity of the hospital.

I stayed here with 3 of my girlfriends this past weekend. We did notice the homeless folks around, but the hotel definitely does the best they can and offer great amenities to make one have to limit how often they go outside or need to drive places. We were lucky to get a spot in their specific lot (I think their is only a handful of spots in that lot) but then they have overfill lots as well. You can't really complain about free parking in Boston anywho. The do have a very nice security guard around and their staff is top notch from the front desk to housekeeping to the shuttle driver to the breakfast attendant. The rooms are clean and spacious. The hotel is meticulous. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options. We decided to uber in and out of downtown rather than use the shuttle and T, but one morning we were coming up from breakfast about to call an uber from the lobby and the shuttle driver intercepted us. He asked where we were going and offered to take us as his next run wasn't for 45 minutes. We graciously accepted and got to enjoy the nice and spacious shuttle into downtown. Not to mention Enrique's company, he was so personable, engaging, and kind. He's a keeper! Now that's hospitality! Yes, the location is less than desired, but for the price you pay and the service you receive, I think this hotel is doing something right!

No shower due to bathtub faucet stuck. Tried to call front desk, no answer. Front desk staff rued on checkout when complain about this. Make you feel stupid.I was told that I should've called and they would have been a different room. How?? front desk does not pick up the phone. Very frustrating. my friend and I booked five nights for a bucket list trip a bruins hockey game and a ne patriots game we arrived 10 am and the staff at the front desk were so friendly they had a room available and checked us in right away the shuttle service to the subway was great when they were not busy they would take us or pick us from the station the included breakfast was good make your own waffles three juices eggs bacon ....just a nice breakfast without having to go somewere although its located close to a busy part of Boston I would recommend this lodging to some looking for an easy home base to get around also I left a set of Bose head phones behind and called from the airport the lady put me on hold checked the room and in a couple of minutes she returned with them in hand they were mailed the same day c.o.d. thanks to all the staff for a wunderfull stay

Great hotel, lovely and nice staff, especially the front agent Deginet! Delicious breakfast and at the end of the day they offer us free cookies and hot chocolate. They also offer us a free ride to the subway.

The rooms are in good shape but it was very noisy. There is a gas station next door and also a big avenue, so there is noise all the time. From truck baking up, and cars driving by. The hotel provided ear plugs for the noise.

The hotel and rooms are very nice but the location is not. Had to walk over homeless people lying on the sidewalk between the lobby and hotel parking lot 100 feet away. Across the street is a large homeless hang out. They do leave ear plugs on your nightstand to help with the sirens/noises at night. The hotel and rooms are clean, just in a poor neighborhood.

The rooms are better than expected. Very contemporary, clean and updated. Internet is very fast. The only complaint we have are some homeless people that are around the area. It was just a safety concern. That did not really bother us much since we have a shuttle to go downtown. However during our pick up time they were late for 45 mins. We called 30min before pickup and 10 min after pickup just to make sure they and us will be there. If we have known they will be that late, we could have taken Uber. 45 min in the cold with wind chill and with a pregnant wife was not fun.

Staff is OK but facility is very poor. Heater is broken and window is broken. Very noise in night time and cold air came into the room (that is suite room!). Many homeless people working around the hotel. I don't recommend the location. This is worst BW I've ever stayed.

Every room in this hotel is noisy -- the front side has a lot of street and helicopter noise, the back side overlooks a 24-hr gas station and a construction equipment lot where they begin at 6am. This, added to the previously mentioned presence of methadone patients from the clinic across the street make this hotel a "No Go" for us. Try the Hampton Inn & Suites one block away -- it looks much better. It's an easy walk from this area to a lot of good restaurants.

nice hotel but the property is infested with junkies and homeless people which made me feel very unsafe. The hotel needs to do more to keep these people off of their property to ensure guest confidence and safety. I understand the hotel is in an industrial location and not all things can be perfect, but the drug addicts shooting heroin all around the property was very disconcerting.

The hotel and its service were great. There were many complimentary perks and services. The area around the hotel is not the best, but there is not much the hotel can do about that, other than they do provide complimentary shuttle service to the subways.

Stayed here fire 2 nights in October. Had read lots of reviews on here talking about the surrounding areas and they were all very accurate about the location on an area an uber driver told us is called 'Methadone Mile'. Inside the hotel is lovely and there's great breakfast options. The rooms were very spacious and came with two double beds. Thankfully the hotel offers a shuttle straight into BackBay and let's you explore the city.

The hotel location is the only disadvantage I have experience, industrial area plus homeless shelter in the neighborhood, I was really scared when I was coming back from my car and saw a bunch of homeless people scouting around the entrance to the hotel. Other than location everything else was great.

I had a great stay at the Best Western Plus Boston Hotel and would definitely stay again if in the area. Was minutes away from the Seaport Expo Center where I was attending the Ski & Snowboard Expo. Easy to find easy to get to. Friendly welcome from the front desk staff. Cookies in the lobby! Room was fabulous. I was fortunate to be on the top floor. Bed was extremely comfortable. There was a note about potential noise in the area but I did not experience any noise issues (maybe being on top floor???). I visited the Dorchester Brewing Company about a mile down the road and highly recommend it if you are into craft beers. Shuttle driver offered assistance but it was easy to get to and park. Got a better nights sleep than at home. I did not think this place included a free breakfast or at best expected continental but there was a full free breakfast with tons of options in the morning. I thought the OJ was particularly fresh and delicious. Front Desk checked on my satisfaction at check out. So yes I saw homeless people in the area. I did not see any of them doing anything other than trying to stay warm on a bitterly chilly night. It would take a rather privileged life to focus on how their situation was an inconvenience to ME while I was enjoying such a warm and wonderful suite.

This place is just not worth it. It's cheaper than other places in the city, but it is surrounded by pan handlers. At night, there is so much noise from the homeless population outside as well as police sirens. The first night I was there, there was police activity for 3-4 hours in the middle of the night! Also some of the staff are extremely friendly but there were 2 that were absolutely horrible. I have never been met with such terrible customer service in my life, especially because I'm generally shy and non-confrontational. The breakfast staff was great, and the rooms are clean, but the whole experience was terrible.

a drug zone and industrial park. very noisy and dangerous location. interior is great and staff is exceptionally good. unfortunately, their service does not outweigh the noise and danger of the site. not worth a stay at any cost, ESPECIALLY if this entails a family and/or children.

The hotel was very nice. Friendly staff. The problem was the are of the hotel. There were so many homeless people surrounding the hotel we were afraid to go out at night. The next day the parking lot smelled so bad of urine it literally made me sick.

This hidden gem was absolutely comfortable. The staff was absolutely incredible! Upon walking into our (Suite) bedroom, I was delightfully surprised on how clean, spacious and comforting it felt and looked! Every member of the staff of this Hotel were amazing, from the front desk, shuttle drivers and the Breakfast Manager, Yudelkq, the Breakfast Manger greeted us every morning and engaged in conversation. She knew all the visitors and had personal conversations with everyone. This hotel was beautiful, clean and spacious, it's a shame it wasn't in a different location.

The room is very specious, two big beds, sitting area, sink is outside of bathroom, kind of nice, safe is located way up in the closet, difficult to reach. Breakfast is moderate, the hot food looks like supplied by outside contractors, and just heated in the microwave oven. People working in this hotel are all very nice from front desk to breakfast helpers. Outside the hotel, not too many choices to eat. MacDonald is only across the street, the other one is a pizza place, we only stepped inside to take a look, not too exciting. The neighborhood doesn't look too good, we didn't feel safe to walk around, we took Lyft to and from Museum of Fine Art which is wonderful!

Stayed a couple nights while in Boston. The hotel itself is very nice. Room was great, breakfast was great, customer service was great. The only drawback is you're near a very busy hospital. A VERY busy hospital. The hotel tries it's best and provides earplugs, but wow around 5 am each morning, a ton of noise. That said that was about the only thing bad about the place. Would I stay there again? Yes, I would. Noise and all.

This is a great hotel. Although the location is not very central for Boston sightseeing and perhaps the area is a little on the rough side, the standard of accommodation and the warm, welcoming staff more than made up for it! We stayed 4 nights. Every part of the hotel was very clean and well-kept. Our room for 3 people had a private bathroom and was very spacious. It was also well-equipped and had a mini-fridge. Upon arrival, the staff were very helpful and friendly and did their best to accommodate us, even though the staff member serving us was clearly new and a bit unfamiliar with processes. I was particularly impressed with the manner and attention of the young lady looking after things at breakfast and also the very nice lady who dealt with us upon check out. We had an issue with our bill being charged to the wrong card and she sorted this out very efficiently. The hotel provides the great service of a shuttle bus to two main stations. It runs quite regularly throughout the day/evening. We used it every day and most trips our driver was a very friendly and helpful young guy from Puerto Rico. Along the way he gave some great insight into the city! The breakfast was varied and vast, setting us up perfectly each morning. We loved the waffle maker. In conclusion, this is a great hotel and I would definitely stay here again.

This is a great place and location with reasonable seasonal rates, comparative to anywhere in the city. They have worked with me on extended stays and adjusted bookings as my wife was going through pre-kidney transplant surgery and now during post care.

It was really nice to get timely help from Ms Deginet for booking local taxi for my commute. The check-out formality also was fast. Overall service was fine including the restaurant persons. Location is good.

This is a great hotel! Very clean. Nice staff. We stayed on the 6th floor and had a nice view of the surrounding area. Despite all of the negative reviews, it really is not as bad as people make it out to be. Yes, there were homeless people gathered around across the street around the Mobil gas station, but in a big city, you see this everywhere you go. Yes, you could hear lots of traffic, and you could hear sirens, but you're in a big city!! That's to be expected. I would stay here again.

The hotel itself was nice and the staff were very kind and helpful. However, the hotel is in a terrible area near methadone clinics and has many homeless and addicts wondering about. I felt unsafe to go outside unless I was calling an Uber.

The staff was exceptional always willing to assist with any questions or concerns. Rooms were spacious, breakfast was made most enjoyable by the staff personnel. Especially the gal in charge. One of the shuttle drivers was exceptional in his service-Enrique; great job.

I stayed at the Best Western Plus Boston Hotel from 11th to 14th October 2017. The service was pretty good. People at Front Desk were very friendly, specially Maureen. If it weren't for her, I couldn't have solved a problem with the carrier of a purchase I had made over the Internet. She was really very smart and helpful. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, free parking. A little noisy but it didn't prevent me from sleeping. Conveniently located. The neighborhood is surrounded by drug addicts and homeless people but they won't disturb you. I would stay there again.

The Best Western was a wonderful Hotel it was Modern, easy to get to and the staff were extraordinary. Parking was another story. The only place to park was behind the hotel which was next to a gas station. We were kind of concerned about leaving the car overnight and leaving for the airport at 4 in the morning. There is security on staff who walked us to get the car. That was a big Plus it made me feel safer. Inside of the room was spectacular , brand new, and modern. Our room was on the 4th floor. It really didn't have much of a view and was close to the street. It had a lot of Street noise. The room did offer earplugs.

OK room, cleanliness not quite up to scratch, there were two hairs in the bath when we arrived. We all know Boston is expensive but still cost more than you might expect. South End location is a bit rough for the price charged.

Staff are very helpful and caring. The room was very clean and nicely furnished. The bed was really comfortable. The neighborhood over the years has had waxing and waning troubles but staff are consciousness and always worked to ensure my safety. Free parking is very rare in Boston and is a huge plus for families on a budget. The Continental breakfast is excellent with very attentive staff. They also offer the travel ban which is really convenient. I will continue to stay at this great hotel for business and personal travel. The room rates are very competitive.

Great hotel for value. Staff is exceptional. I have stayed there about 50 times over the past 3 or so months because of a job that we are doing in Boston. The staff has been so helpful and friendly. I really like the Best Western Rewards Program as well.

We enjoyed our stay the staff was so great!!! Very friendly and helpful. The reason for the low mark is the location. We didn't know that the area was a drug spot for crack beads and homeless that's not the fault of the hotel but we didn't feel safe when walking out the front door .

This hotel is near BU Medical Center, in South Boston. It is off a main street and since it is near a medical center, it is very noisy, often with sirens. We found it hard to sleep at times. But, there were other nice things about this hotel: the rooms were spacious and clean, free bottled water each day, free cookies and flavored water/drinks, newspaper and breakfast buffet. It is 7 1/2 blocks to nearest T station

The hotel is amazingly great for being so close to the action in Boston with free parking and free breakfast. And the one qualifier is the neighborhood which is part of the "Methadone Mile". The good news is that while there are a substantial number of down and outers wandering in the area of the hotel they seem to be people who are trying to make their lives better and not once did they say anything to me and when I drove to parking they cleared the intersection and waved me on. I walked from Fenway Park in the dark down Mass Ave and passed single women and couples most of the way so I felt safe. The room was spacious, well equipped and first class. This is a bargain and if you can get past the neighbors appearance it's a deal.

We had a nice stay at this hotel for my 25th birthday weekend. The hotel itself is beautiful and our room was clean and modern. The front desk staff were friendly and very accommodating. My only negative comment would be that the location of this hotel is kind of rough. Other than that, it is close to Faneuil Hall and other great bars and places to eat in the area. Definitely recommend if you're looking to go away to the city for a night or two, just be cautious of the shady characters in the parking lot and lock your doors.

Just stayed here from 10/3-10/6/2017 and loved it. First trip to Boston and we drove, so getting here was easy and right off the ramp. Included free parking. Yes, it's located in somewhat of a shady area. You be alert like any city, someone will ask you for some spare change or a cigarette, politely say no. Never felt like I would be mugged or anything like that. The staff was as friendly as can be and very helpful. They went above and beyond, so kudos to the entire staff. The rooms are large and very clean, no musty smells, clean carpets, bathrooms, corridors and even outside, always cleaning. The free continental breakfast has something for everyone and they keep it stocked and fresh. I don't like staying right in the hub of everything, but this place was central to everything we wanted to do and we used Uber to get everywhere, generally $13-$14 each trip, but was prompt every time. Security is always around the entrance, so I always felt safe. Will absolutely stay here again on my next trip.

Highest review to the hotel, room, and staff. Hotel Cleanliness is top rated. True professional staff--very helpful. Good Rates. The location/area is convenient for the hospital/medical center (you can see it from the front door) BUT the location/neighborhoods are not a good place to be walking around especially in the evening. Lot's of drug use (hardcore) and lot of people gathered (loitering).

Take care if you stay here, druggies surround the back of the building and used needles on the ground.lot of aggressive panhandlers at the intersections and get angry if not supported. noises area of town, ear plugs provided to help dull the noice.

I have traveled the world and have stayed in Iraq and India with armed guards at the door. That is what I feel this place needs, in other words, visible security. The parking lot for the hotel was filled with 10-15 “homeless” type people. You have to sign a waiver saying that the hotel is not responsible for theft. After signing it was apparent why they make you sign it. There was no visible security, no secured access (code for example). The Hampton inn a block away had visible security on bike and a parking garage. I was a BEst Western fan but I now have serious concern about their commitment to customer safety.
