    « Excellent Resort »

what an Excellent place! we checked in on Wednesday, Ray at the front desk helped us, and gave us an awesome room with a beautiful balcony over looking the mountain. The property is very nice, and everybody made us feel like home, they are pet friendly and have 2 nice pools and an awesome Spa. we had dinner 3 nights at their restaurant " The Arches" . Make sure you catch their happy hour, the lounge outside is looking over the golf course, and It is a Magnificent view .Gerry was our Bartender, he was really awesome, accommodating with a great deal of knowledge about the Area. We loved the place so much and we are definitely coming back.

« Best hotel experience at a budget price!!! »

Frankly I was blown away at what a great room we had for a modest price. It was a first class experience in what I believe is the best hotel in town. Borrego Springs was a wonderful place to visit but is not filled with tourists which may be why it is such an exceptional deal. Great choice for families on a budget who want to visit a beautiful place. The town has many nice restaurants and is surrounded by a State park that has many scenic trails and memorable destinations.

    « Quiet and comfortable »

When we have stayed in Borrego Springs for longer periods (2 weeks to a month), we have preferred a house or condo rental with full kitchen, etc. But since we were only in town for two nights, BSR was a perfect choice. We asked for a room on the first floor and away from the pool - good choice to add quiet to the list of positives. Staff friendly, helpful and accommodating. Beds are very comfortable; all linens and toiletries of high quality.

« Desert Beauty, Stars, Nature and a good place to sleep! »

Everyone was very accommodating, friendly and professional. Chairs on balcony could be a little more comfortable but it was just nice having a balcony! Ate at the Arches for breakfast (on-site) outside patio which was lovely. Separate sitting area in room, free wi-fi, warm pool, free bike use which looked good. Love Borrego Springs for desert beauty, hikes, and absolute getaway!

« Great Staff, Average Rooms »

The staff was great and very accommodating. The guest rooms could use some help. I know they say there were recently remodeled, but I am not sure what they did, furniture was stained, mattress was very saggy, bathroom was from the early 90's. Housekeeping was good at their job, and the front desk staff and management very much focused on the guest. "Resort" is a swimming pool, hot tub, and tennis court. There is a golf course with restaurant on site. Service at restaurant was inconsistent. Some times attentive other times could not find anyone.

« Quiet Simple Comfortable Stay »

The resort is a series of hotels with pools, tennis courts, and golf. The room was comfortable, had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee, and two bottles of water. The internet is included and you don't need a password. However, it does go down at times and when it does, the credit card machines don't work either. In a four night stay, the internet went out twice - once was several hours and the other time was brief (20 minutes). There is no room service and places nearby close around 7-9 so be prepared to eat early. People were friendly all around.

    « Nice rooms, but.... »

We often stay in Best Westerns as the quality is very consistent. This is a nice hotel, with comfortable, spacious rooms. They were able to accommodate us on the ground floor, which was appreciated. But...we drove past the hotel several times, because there is no sign outside identifying it as Best Western. Unlike most BWs we've stayed in, there is no complimentary breakfast - you must go to the restaurant and order a la carte (and pay). Our first morning (we stayed 2 nights), the housekeeper knocked before we were ready to go out. We said we'd be out shortly, however, when we returned in late afternoon, the room had not been serviced. We had to ask for coffee and cups to replace those already used. Not a good experience. And to top it off, we were overcharged versus the rate quoted when we booked (the overcharge was corrected quickly, but this should not have happened). The restaurant (across the street) is excellent (a separate review of the restaurant will be provided).

« Beautiful & Quiet hotel in the middle of dessert »

Everything & everywhere about this hotel is beautiful, very clean & quiet. We had a pleasant stay.I love the hotel's landscape , delicious breakfast, great service. We stayed in a king bed suite with a pullout sofa bed for our teenager daughter. The beds are comfy , the room is very big &clean. We love hanging out & swimming by the big clean pool. The spa is a paradise in the middle of dessert. Location is a bit out of the main area , but only 5 minutes drive. There are tennis courts & complimentary bikes for guests.

    « Great place »

When you come over the pass down into Borrego Springs, it was like being in the 1950's. However, this place was a great happy surprise. Quality, clean, quiet and didn't blow the budget. Visit Anza-Borrego Dessert SP or go golfing.

    4
« Friendly and competent staff, comfortable stay, free bikes available »

Overall we had a very good one night stay at this place. I think it is a bit overpriced for what it is, considering that you can get much better room for that price in San Diego or any of the coastal cities. The staff try very hard and are so pleasant and accommodating that they make up for it. They offer free mountain bike rentals which was great for us to just ride around the estate.

« Nice clean rooms well appointed »

A family member was coming to visit us. We are in an rv so no room. So we booked here on Airbnb . The rooms are clean two rooms with a little kitchenette with a fridge, microwave and some dishes. The only thing lacking would be a small stove for breakfast and a toaster.mbut nothing negative about these rooms

    5
« Lovely place for an overnight »

The room (at the back) was quiet and utterly comfortable. The mattress was wonderfully firm. Goldilocks would say it was "just right." The staff was friendly and accommodating. We asked for wine glasses for our room and they were delivered immediately. All in all this will probably be our new go to place when we come to Borrego Springs.

    5
    « Enjoyable »

Coming here for years now Staff in restaurant always fantastic, food was good needs a modern menu update we meet the new chef, that won the taste of borrego seems perfect for the future of the place, on new and trending ideas. Can't wait!!

    « Nice for a relaxing weekend »

Enjoyed a relaxing weekend exploring the local geology. Hotel was a pleasant place to hang out & have a nap between forays. Internet was good, though not secured with a password. Room had a/c and a fan which allowed for assorted levels of cooling & airflow. Housekeeping got confused when we said we were not ready for them to do the room at 10am; they never came back later that day. We had 3 people in the room, but there were only towels for 2.

    « Great stay »

We stayed here 3 nights because my husband wanted to golf-he really likes their course. I just wanted to enjoy the warm weather-70-80 degrees in December is so special for a Montana girl?? and her dog. I'm not crazy about hotels-they tend to be noisy and not meticulously clean, especially when you have a pet friendly room. I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was very quiet-they must have good insulation. And yes-it was meticulously clean. No unpleasant smells, stains, etc. Bedding was perfectly clean & comfy. Carpet & bathroom were spotless, even in the corners & floor trim. Best of all-the rooms have a balcony with a small table & 2 chairs so that one can sit out side and feel the warm sun. It was so enjoyable. Then we left to rent an Airbnb house for a week. That was not very clean or pleasant-really wished we had chosen to stay at the hotel instead.

    3
    « decent accommodations »

It's a Best Western. Clean. Reasonable room and rates. Lots of families and lots of turnover every day. It's fine if you don't plan on spending much time in the room and aren't looking for a quiet adult spa-type experience. The rooms are dark and the pool and hot tub become crowded and noisy from about 4 p.m. through the evening. Over the course of 3 nights, we didn't make it into the hot tub once. The pool at spa is beautiful, but not heated, so too cool for our December visit. The loaner bikes need maintenance and then are just serviceable enough to get you to town and back.

« A Shining Star at Borrego Springs »

The Best Western Borrego Springs Resort & Golf Club, BW Premier Collection, is located to the southeast of the town of Borrego Springs, about 10 minutes' drive to the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Visitor Center. Since there isn't any top-tier-brand hotel or resort like Hilton, Hyatt or Marriott around this tranquil desert basin, the Borrego Springs Resort is certainly the best you can find. Though the residential area is not large, compared to the huge country club golf course beside it, the room is in delicate order and condition. I'm sure you won't expect state-of-art decor and hardware in a BW property, but they are more than comfortable here, especially in this scarcely populated region. The most remarkable highlight is the Arches Restaurant, which directly faces the golf course with a fountain pond and has a breath-taking 180-degree view of the high mountains of Anza-Borrego. I shall never forget the breakfast while enjoying the scenery of the amazing sunrise coloring the mountains afar. In addition, taking a short walk around the golf course after sunset and looking up into the clear star-dotted sky is another thrilling experience at the resort. I also need to mention the friendly and helpful staff on the property. The lady checked in my husband and me is named Veronica. She not only upgraded our room to a second-floor suite, but also gave us a considerate orientation of the whole property and its amenities. There was another gentleman with Veronica at the moment, whose name pin I didn't see clearly. He later prepared a bag of welcome gifts to us in addition to the alternative 500 rewards points. We really appreciate their generosity. In terms of other aspects of operating hotels and resorts, you can always give a thumb up to the Borrego Springs Resort. By the way, the nightly room rate is not scary at all, given such high-quality accommodation and service. In a word, I strongly recommend this property to those who decides to explore the natural wonders of Anza-Borrego, Southern California.

« Resort Tucked Away in the Desert »

We enjoyed our stay at Borrego Springs Reort. Check in was quick and wasy. Our room was large, with its own patio. The room came equipped with a mini fridge, 2 bottles of water, and coffee and tea. The wifi was down during our stay, but it is complementary. The resort does not have room service, but there is a restaurant on site. Overall, a nice and quiet place to stay in the desert.

    4
« Nice, Quiet desert resort »

We trust the BW name which is why we picked this place to stay overnight. It was very nice, we had a king room that looked out to the pool area and had it's own patio. The resort has a restaurant on site. There are activities such as bike rental available. Overall this is a very nice place to stay.

« Resort Feel in the Desert »

Recently purchased property, went through some upgrades in the off-season. Rooms are comfortable and have all the expected items. Check in was friendly and efficient. Small patio, allowed us to enjoy the beautiful sunset and sunrise. Had breakfast at the resort restaurant, good food and solid price. Service was better then prior experiences. Golf course was in best shape seen in last 5+ years. Good rates, and no issues with pace of play. Well worth a visit to the Anza Borrego desert

« We loved this hotel »

Although not walking distance from the town of Borrego the hotel and its staff were fantastic and we cannot praise them enough - though early we were able to check in and enjoy the very comfortable, spacious and well equipped room

    3
« Beautiful property with failings »

asani, safe,Noisy fan, mealtimes, breakfast service & menu, room unmade This is a beautiful property. The landscaped grounds, golfcourse, and palm trees in the middle of the desert, combine to make it appear picture perfect. Unfortunately there were several failings while were there, that spoilt our experience. We found the water from the faucet in the room tasted bad. It was only later that a member of staff told us we should not drink it, and that is why they put two free bottles of water a day in the refrigerator. One day we went out and returned at 3pm, only to find our room not made up, and no maid in sight. The extractor fan in our bathroom made an unpleasant very loud noise. We asked that it be fixed, but it wasn't. There wasn't a safe in the room, as in most hotels. Lastly the wait time for our breakfast was far too long. All of which prove the old saying which says that 'looks aren't everything'.

« Beautifull place, great nature, comfortable resort! »

We stayed here mid september and it was apparently low season because it was really quiet. We loved it! The day we arrived we had the pool completely for ourselves. Check in was efficient and staff very friendly. We had a room on the second floor with a spacious balcony. The room was huge! With a seating area a table and a small kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave. The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean. The decor a bit outdated. The surroundings of the resort are desert with a lot of palms. Really beautifull. We expected the internet to be slow in the middle of the desert, but we were surprised! It was really fast! Would love to stay here again!

    « Very nice property! »

I wish more Best Western hotels were as nice as this one. Wow. Such a nice setting. Check in was easy and the front desk person was nice. I was upgraded to an executive suite and it was nice. Had 2 rooms. A wet bar area. 2 TV's and a balcony. Enjoyed the bathrobes. Bathroom was of decent size and nice. Bedroom had dual closets. Pool and hot tub were both nice and clean. Property is so quiet and such an awesome night time view. My friend and I had a great relaxed time and we are talking about coming again.

« Very impressed! Lovely resort »

Came here at the last minute at the end of a road trip, to break up the drive home. It is low season right now, so a good room on a Saturday night was no problem. We were greeted warmly at the front desk and swiftly checked in. We had our dog, which was no problem for them. The rooms are quite large with a coffee maker, wet bar with fridge. Free wifi is decent and easy to use. We had a decent dinner in a lovely setting on the patio overlooking the golf course. It is a very pretty setting at night, with lots of stars. We wish we could have stayed longer. It is an exceptional value at this time of year.

« An Oasis in the Desert »

The Borrego Hotel and Spa is indeed an Oasis in the desert. If you're in the Salton Sea area it's only 25 miles to the West and it's worth the drive. Located in the Anza-Borrego Desert (about 2 hours from San Diego) the resort sits at the base of the mountains in Borrego Springs. They offer first-class amenities and the staff is ready and willing to make your stay pleasurable and comfortable. The rooms are very clean and the grounds are immaculate.

    5
    « Quiet location »

We were looking for a quick getaway near home. We pass thru Borrego Springs often on our motorcycles but other than a quick lunch that's it. There really is not a lot to do in Borrego other than hike or camp or golf and that was fine with us. We were basically looking for a reasonably priced hotel with a heated pool and a balcony and we were extremely satisfied. Beware for those of you that want to walk into town, this is about five+ miles from town. There is a restaurant and bar on site, The Arches, that is excellent, it is moderately priced but great food and service! Also a golf course, tennis courts and spa on site. Ray greeted us at check in, very nice guy! The rooms have been recently, partially renovated and were nice. Ours had a mini bar with a sink, microwave, fridge, coffee maker and cupboards to store your snacks, etc. Housekeeping did an excellent job of cleaning daily. The pool is quite large with tons of lounge chairs and 4-5 table and chair sets. It was heated, probably 80-85, perfect and there was a jacuzzi as well in a fenced in area. They also have bikes to use while there. All in all, this fit the bill for what we needed and everyone was very nice and friendly. We decided this will be a late summer tradition.

    3
    « Just average »

End of summer weekend visit. Stayed at a different resort while in town last year and this one did not impress us as much. Grounds well taken care of but our room was a bit dated. Odd smell in the hallway like old wine. Pool was small and packed, not sure if there is another on the grounds. They ran out of towels while we were there. Booked through third party and was looking forward to hitting some golf balls at the range. However, was informed at reception that all golfing activities are shut down for summer (bummer). Gym is really small and doesn't have a lot of equipment. Kids were running around in gym when I went. Bright spot is that staff are friendly. Truth is, the place just doesn't have a resort feel. Do your homework, there are better resorts in the area for a nominal additional cost.

    5
« Dark Skies, Star gazing! »

Our Hotel was very welcoming and Friendly! Although the temp outside was overbearing(105 upon arrival @ 6:00 p.m.!) the rooms were already cool and comfortable. We had our own patio and the King bed was very comfortable! The restaurant in town, Kendall's was top notch for breakfast! The owner even turned OFF the back outside Parking lot lights, so we could view the Perseid Meteror showers close to our room! EXCITING!

    4
« A great place to stay for the meteor showers, if it's August »

The room we had was fine with a desert view--clean and convenient. Anza Borrego is the darkest place in California, so it's a great place to see the stars. In the heat of the summer the hotel was cool inside and has a nice pool. The golf course is a nice place to walk on a hot summer nice with the sprinklers going.

« Perfect Two Day Retreat - Exactly As Expected and Needed »

Husband had heart surgery on 12/26/16 & I participated in his 24 hr care 14 days in hospital & for the last 7 months at home. I needed a break! I wanted a luxurious room with a day full of quality Spa experiences, a gym and a swimming pool. I found them at BSR&S. Check in was friendly & efficient, room was stylish, comfy & clean with all the amenities & a modern bath, Free WiFi, table for my laptop, sofa for lounging, patio for morning coffee, Fridge, TV, A/C, Featherbed, lots of pillows, The Arches dinner was delicious, although pricey, gym was convenient with working machines & fresh towels. Spa gals were fantastic & the Deep Tissue Massage/Mani/Pedi were the very best anywhere. Spa facility & amenities were clean & luxurious. Proximity to town center was easy to explore stores & restaurants. Great solo or couples getaway off season. Surroundings beautiful. Reminds me of my family vacay home in La Quinta when I was a kid - priceless memories.

« Spacious, clean, well equipped and comfortable bed & pillows »

Highly recommended if you ever visit Borrego Springs. The room is spacious, free wi-fi, there's a round table and chairs, there's a small couch, HD flat screen TB, coffee maker, microwave, and a fridge with 2 bottles of water - complimentary. The only thing falls short is the water pressure of the shower, it's kind of slow.

    « Perfect city get-away!! »

I recently had the opportunity with my partner to visit the lovely Borrego Springs Resort. Booking process online was very user friendly and we got a phenomenal rate of $99 for one night (Sunday). Upon arrival at the resort we were warmly welcomed by Anthony the Assistant General Manager. Check-in was painless and very informative. Kudos to the guy's on reception that day as they were very good at explaining the resort and also some local information regarding what to do and see during our all too brief one night stay (Sun 11th of June). Our bedroom Suite was a great size with all of the amenities we needed and also very clean, perfectly located by the swimming pool and hot tub and within short walking distance of the resort facilities such as restaurant & bar & golf course etc. I even managed to get out onto the golf course and hit some balls the following morning before we checked out. Golf course was in great shape especially considering it was coming to the end of the golf season. Golf shop manager was very helpful. Don't worry if you have not brought clubs with you even if you want to hit some balls on the range as they will supply you with the equipment on site should you require it. The surroundings of the course itself set in the Anza - Borrego Sate Park are truly spectacular, but do watch out for the extreme sunshine and drink lots of water!!!! Service in the bar was top notch and my partner and I chose to eat lunch on the terrace outside overlooking the course. The food was excellent, served in a timely manner and reasonably priced for a resort. Upon checkout which is normally 12 noon we were granted a late checkout as the resort was not full due to it being a Sunday/Monday stop over. I realize that late checkouts can only be granted upon request depending on the overall levels of business so both my partner and I were very grateful to have been accommodated this time around. Great job by the young lady who was working on reception that Monday morning as this was no trouble at all. Both my partner and I are industry professionals working in Hospitality Management in both the US & Tanzania, Africa we both understand the pressures of delivering great service. So we tip our cap and say a big thank you to everyone who made our stay as brief as it was very enjoyable, keep up the great work! Hopefully we will be back in the future as I'd love to play some more golf!!!

    3
    « A worthwhile trip »

Borrego is beautiful, especially in the spring and before it gets too hot. I can see why it's called the poor man's Palm Springs in that amenities are basic and not exceptional, if not a bit tired. But the trip there for a few days is still worthwhile and the Borrego Springs Resort (while hardly a "resort"), is spacious and comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful.

    5
« Great Golfing and relaxing with friends »

Borrego Springs Resort and Golf Club was a spectacular venue for six good friends to enjoy a mini golf tournament among ourselves. The jacuzzi was great for relaxing after a long day drive and golf and then a very nice dinner at the Coyote Steak House - also highly recommended! and reviewed here on Trip Advisor by me.

« Nice, quiet spot for our wedding anniversary »

My wife and I spent three days here celebrating our anniversary. I have to say as a disclaimer that during the high season, it is likely a very different experience. We nearly had the place to ourselves which frankly we loved. We played golf on their well-maintained and enjoyable golf course (appropriate for intermediate players like us). Our room was comfortable with a view of one of the pool areas, but my one negative comment was that the air conditioner in the room was incredibly loud - not great for a light sleeper. Borrego Springs is a bit out of the way, and is probably better known by outdoorsy, camping and hiking types. We loved the amenities of this resort, though. Had we had more time, we would have made use of the tennis courts as well.

    5
« Stay here at least once a month »

Great hotel - especially friendly for kids. The restaurant serves an awesome breakfast on the golf course. We usually get a nice big suite. Very affordable, quiet and service is great. Rooms are always clean.

    5
    « Echoes Bar »

Jerry the bartender is the best in Borrego. He is such a hard worker and he cares so much about his clients. We stopped by just because of him. Last time we were out he was top notch and so we had to make the visit. The owners are very lucky to have him. He takes care of everyone Luke they are VIPs.

    5
« Cinco de Mayo in the desert! »

We are back in our favorite 'go to' vaca spot in Borrego Springs! This hotel, spa, restaurant and bar never fails to disappoint! Super comfortable rooms with pillow soft beds, two great pool areas, and lots to do. We have been coming to Borrego Springs Resort and Spa since they opened in the late eighties. We love the staff and the convenience of having the award winning golf course across the street. Highly recommend to stay here the next time you visit Borrego!

    5
« Get away and enjoy peaceful views »

Family and I stayed here last week with great service from front desk service to comfortable beds and fast WiFi. The pool was a great spot to relax and enjoy the warm weather and be able to jump in the cool pool water. Family will come back and we shall stay longer to get away for a bit. All staff members do more than most other places to make your stay enjoyable and memorable.

« Serenity Spa was the highlight of our weekend »

We stayed at the Borrego Springs Resort at the recommendation of friends who raved about your place. We love spending time in the desert, and we were pleased about the Resort's proximity to Anzo Borrego. But the highlight of our trip was an afternoon spent at the Serenity Spa. My wife really enjoyed the facial and the body scrub while I loved getting a fantastic massage. I think the massage therapist's name was Cindy - she was great! Afterwards, both my wife and I enjoyed a dip in the pool. Great experience! We've already told all of our friends here at Leisure World about the Resort. We'll certainly be back!

    5
    « Wildflowers! »

We were fortunate to visit Borrego Springs during the beautiful wildflower season this year. This resort added to our enjoyment with it beauty, service and good food. We did not golf there but it looked like a beautiful course. Besides the flowers we loved seeing all the interesting metal sculptures scattered around the valley.

    4
« Great place for two nights »

We stayed at Hotel El Zorro for two nights Easter weekend. The resort is very nice and the room (we were in a two bedroom casita) was expensive (over $600/nightly), yet it was a fun experience. The desert was great for two nights. During the day we went on a jeep tour and swam in the pool, we had our own pool, which was great. At night we went star gazing and out to the local restaurants. We went to the restaurant in the resort for drinks and appetizers, really enjoyed the food and the live music. All in all, a pleasant trip, the room was clean and comfortable. I really liked the coffee maker and fridge in the room. A nice trip out to the desert, I think we had done it all in the three days/ two nights that we were there.

    5
    « Vacation »

We had a great experience with the family. All the staff is great, the food is great, and the rooms are real nice. What stood out the most is how friendly the front desk is and how they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.

    5
    « Taller shower fixtures! »

Back for first time since Nov 2016. Noticed immediately that the shower fixtures were taller than last time and I didn't have to stoop while showering. Nice touch. Water pressure wasn't good, but might have been time of day or due to conservation efforts. Pool towels in lobby are appreciated.

    3
« Decent Hotel, But Not A Resort »

This hotel is a comfortable hotel, but it's definitely not a resort and the $12 a night additional resort fee is silly. The rooms were clean, but basic and the pool was smallish and plain. The spa was small and didn't appear very clean. In all, it was a good base camp to hiking in Anza Borrego, but it was rather expensive for what you get from the hotel.

    4
    « Not quite "resort" »

Here with some friends to check out the desert wildflowers and play a little golf. I have no complaints except I think the title resort isn't quite apt. The golf was great and the food was not bad at all. I would recommend as long as you aren't expecting too much in the resort itself.

    2
« Ok rooms and amenities. Restaurant TERRIBLE »

Title says it all. It's ok for sleeping and showering. That's about it. Restaurant is one of the worst things I have ever stepped foot into. If you choose to stay here, it is absolutely necessary to eat in town, NOT in the resort. Idiotic, half-brained staff leads to 45 to 60 minute wait times for salads and appetizers. It would appear that Borrego Springs Resort and Spa is the premier employer of the mentally handicapped in Borrego Springs.

    4
    « Quick visit »

Hotel is nice. Quiet. Free bike rentals for quests. In the early morning we went for a bike ride and saw a coyote. Lots of wildlife around the hotel. Spa was very nice and peaceful. They were very nice to us even though we were late

    3
    « Realy just a motel not a resort »

Bed was a little too soft. Décor is a little outdated - wallpaper etc. Although there was new carpet in the hallways which showed nice. They call themselves a resort but really it is just a regular hotel room with a very basic pool area. Way too expensive for what you get and the staff could have been a little more friendly. Nice size room. Liked the little bar/sink/microwave area. Very convenient. Air conditioning worked great and there was always coffee in the lobby for the guests.

We were staying at a nearby resort and decided to have a romantic date night dinner here. Great service, awesome fried chicken, and fun karaoke! We'll definitely come back. Might even consider buying a home on the golf course.

The resort rooms and hotel staff was great , the arches restaurant however was very disappointing. The service was extremely slow. We thought everyone can have an off day, but no better on day 2. when our meal did arrive it was burnt. They served it anyways. We had to ask for new plates, not what I would have expected from a resort of this caliber I would recommend the hotel, but find somewhere else to eat

« Pleasant stay, good value, recommend »

My husband and I stayed here when we were visiting Julian for apple picking last weekend. It was a bit further away from Julian than expected, and pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the resort. The facility is very clean. Everyone working there was extremely friendly. The golf course and tennis courts looked great. Our room was big with comfy bedding and had a nice patio. One suggestion would be to have better lounge furniture on the patios. Wrought iron bistro sets look cute but are hot and uncomfortable in the desert heat. We visited the pool later in the day when it had cooled down. The pool did not seem to be heated, and was a bit on the chilly side, which wouldn't have been a problem at 2pm but was at 5pm. We ate at the restaurant, which we were surprised was so busy. Nothing too special culinary-wise, but we did manage to get our appetizers, entrees and a bottle of wine for $100. The resort also offers discounts to military families, which is a nice bonus. I would not hesitate to return - with our golf clubs - next time we're in the area.
