"Exceeded my expectations, nice service, very helpful"
neuhausmanfred, 05 Août 2023

I chosed this hotel based on positive ratings by Tripadvisor travellers. The room was bigger than expected, with a huge bathroom. I could open the window to feel the outside air. Everything very clean, well smelling, very comfortable bed. The front desk attendants are lovely and always helpful. They have no parking, but it is easy and cheap to use public parking few meters away. We prefer local bakeries, therefore I can't comment on the breakfast. Wifi seemed to be a bit unstable late at night. Next time I intend to stay in the same hotel, it is just a 7 minute walk from restaurants, bars and shops, I really recommend it.

"Excellent Base for exploring or just passing through."
MarcusS3, 05 Mars 2023

A most welcoming and inviting hotel. Our host checked we were all parked correctly before checking us in. He took the time to make sure all needs were met as we had a disabled person in our group. He spoke perfect English which made everything do much easier. Good sized room with comfortable bed. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Recommended!

"Affordable, great location!"
videmred, 28 Octobre 2019

We had a quiet room, not a bad size. Great bakery/coffee shop right next door. Short-ish walk to town and chateau. Stayed for 2 nights. This is all i have to say but Tripadvisor demands 200 plus words so here they are.

"Family Stop over"
andrewlR5939DQ, 31 Août 2019

We picked the hotel as a last minute booking for our drive North through France. Staff very attentive, room was spacious for a family room and quiet with air conditioning. Easy walk into Blois Centre. Parking limited to payant on street and train station opposite. Breakfast busy and room full so had to wait, but staff very attentive and restocked, sorted tables straight away. Hotel is above shops and cafes, so a classic central hotel, kind of expected more from the pics and name. Other than that it was one of the best overnight stops we had stayed in.

"A good quality hotel at a reasonable price"
Franco101, 02 Août 2019

We asked for a silent room and our room was in a very silent mansard with characteristic exposed beams in the ceiling, which however are at head height and require attention. The air conditioner was powerful and silent, all was clean and well maintained. The bathroom was rather small but comfortable. The hotel is ten-minute walking distance to the castle and twenty-minute to the pedestrian zone. A minor problem was that the elevator does not reach the mansard. A strong point of this hotel is Mr. Olivier, who you can find at the reception from morning to evening; he can give you all kinds of information, both on the town and its surroundings and on France in general. If you are not in a hurry a chat at the reception is advisable.

"Average hotel, it'sabout the location"
Flamingoetal, 05 Juillet 2019

Location is excellent across from train station. For our one night stay the 2 managers were varied in level of professionalism - one quite good another who was not interested in assisting. Rooms are small but expected for this area, air conditioning was strong and is a plus. Accessibility: there is one small lift which worked well. Step up into shower. To visit the chateau in Blois will be an uphill walk ~10 minutes.

"Terrible Local Manager"
Travel43364306252, 20 Avril 2019

The manager is not professional, service oriented or easy to work with. I do not suggest staying here. The The manager is aggressive, rude and he overbilled me. I was very uncomfortable being in the same building with him!

"Good location"
SLTrips, 18 Mai 2018

My husband and I stayed 2 nights in May 2018. The hotel is at a good location, across from the train station, next to a restaurant and bakery, short walk to center of town and tourist sites. The lady who checked us in was very nice. We asked her questions a couple times during our stay. Not only she gave us good answers, she checked on us the next time she saw us. We got a superior room. The room is modern and clean. But the room is very small. The king bed almost take up the whole room. There is a chair and a small table (maybe 1 foot wide by 4 long). This is a superior room so we wonder what are the non superior rooms like. The room smells a little. We weren't sure what the smell was, maybe ventilation or plumbing. Every time we got back to our room, we need to open both windows to get rid of the smell. Good thing both the room and the bathroom have large windows so the smell was mostly gone after opening the windows for a while.

"a nice hotel"
Andrew B, 13 Octobre 2017

We are a couple who stayed 3 nights at this hotel in Blois. Its location is excellent, directly opposite the railway station and next door to a bakery and a restaurant (which is not part of the hotel, despite appearances). Our room was spacious and comfortable: a large bed, blackout curtains which help sleep, a large bathroom with 2 wash basins and a hairdryer, an electric kettle and an in-room safe. The wifi is ok. The room is a bit short on bench space to place things, and the kettle is located next to where clothes hang, which is an unsuitable location for steam to circulate. The hotel website says that it has laundry facilities. However, this does not mean that it has a laundromat which guests can use; instead the hotel can arrange laundry at EUR12 per load. Coralie in reception is very helpful. The front desk manager could be more friendly, which would give a better impression on guests.

"Ideal to explore the castles of the Loire"
Irina M, 16 Août 2017

A perfect place to stay in Blois to explore the castles of the Loire valley: across the railway station and next to bus stops. It is not in the least noisy, as it's a small local station and the windows face a quiet side street. Best Western always provides with iron facilities on request. Blois castle is 3 minutes walk away and opposite it is L'orangerie restaurant- not to miss! Tip: the next door from the hotel is a Boulangerie open from 6 am with a great variety for breakfast, fresh from the oven! The bathroom has only dispensers with liquid soap - not much convenient.

"Perfect location, modern hotel"
Travellinghack, 25 Juillet 2017

Across the road from the railway station and within an easy walk of the Chateau Blois this is a perfect location for this modern well run hotel. Friendly staff. Quiet rooms, comfortable beds. Altogether a good experience.

"Stay"
edbm_13, 30 Avril 2017

Great hotel with helpful staff. Just have to remember to press the elevator button all the way up or down. Great suggestions for dinner. Plan to stay there in October with other family. Near train station.

"nice hotel in blois"
Keren M, 08 Avril 2017

we kind of fell on this hotel after escaping another hotel in a different city. The lady at the front desk was very sweet and patient, showed me the optional rooms and we picked a relatively low cost room. it was very small but clean and quiet. very good location 5 minutes walk from the chateux and city center. reccomended.

"Great stay!"
Breseira, 27 Mars 2017

We really enjoyed our stay on the hotel! Location is perfect - just near the train station and 5 minutes to the city center on foot. The room was impeccable: clean, stylish, had tea facility, super comfy bed, complementary mineral water. Our room was facing the back yard so there was no noise at all during the night. The breakfast was delicious as well: it had variety of eggs, cheeses, meet, pastry, dried fruits, teas and coffees. The staff was very pleasant and helpful assisting us with the buses and information to the nearest chateau we wanted to visit. So everything was just perfect! Thank you!

"Nice,OK"
seth b, 10 Février 2017

Good location. Not much open in this town after 8pm. Don't include the breakfast in your room charge. They will ask you "will you take breakfast with us in the morning" It's not included in the rate. Don't

"The location can't be beat"
faithk, 07 Janvier 2017

The hotel is right across the street from the train station and less than a five minute walk from the Blois castle and tourism office. The staff is efficient and helpful. The room is just what you would expect from a BW and is decorated in a modern style. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. Loved the eggs and sausages! This is the place to stay in Blois.

"Excellent Stay"
A-Wildgoose, 15 Octobre 2016

Clean comfortable hotel opposite the Gare SNCF which we needed at the end of our stay. Our requirements are for clean sheets, comfortable bed and a hot shower. the hotel excelled on all of these. The room we had was spacious by French standards having a separate sitting area and bedroom. Breakfast was the standard European fare and there ws sufficient choice for our needs. staff were very helpful and accommodating the hotel is only a short walk 1.5 kms to restaurants and the cities sights. It is centrally located for visiting the chateaus. Parking is on the street.

"Great location and hotel"
Jean S, 22 Septembre 2016

we had an overnight stay here recently and it was brilliant. Our room was well equipped and it was lovely to find a kettle and coffee making facilities in the room. As other people have said, the hotel is across the road from the railway station but even though our room was at the front of the hotel and overlooked the station car park, we had absolutely no noise at all from the trains. Maybe we were just so tired we slept well that night! the hotel is in a great location within an easy and interesting walk from the town centre. The man on reception was brilliant - what a great sense of humour! He was extremely helpful and we appreciated his humour. Would definitely recommend this hotel and have no hesitation in returning in the future.

"Excellent Stay - Excellent Hotel"
Keith G, 19 Septembre 2016

Having recently stayed at this hotel with my family, I was delighted with the hotel. We were unsure of where to stay when visiting Blois and having taken the chance on the Best Western name we were over the moon with our choice. The hotel is very modern and clean. The staff especially were very accommodating (we have a small child). They could not be more helpful when our flight was delayed and we were 6 hours late. The manager was at the door to greet us as if he had experience guest that have flown with easyjet before. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Blois. Thank you for a great stay, your hard work and hospitality is greatly appreciated. We stayed in a road facing room and never had any problems with noise. The trains didn't run all night on our stay (Thurs-Sunday). We arrived 11.30pm on the Thurs, didn't hear one train.

"Adequate overnight stop"
Rosalind M, 26 Juillet 2016

As others have said, hotel is over the road from the train station, which is good for parking but the TGV trains are noisy and run all night, which makes it a bit of a Hotel du Gare. Try to avoid a road -facing room, as there is early morning traffic noise. Rooms are comfortable. Bathroom very good.

"Fit for purpose!"
Althea D, 19 Juillet 2016

First night of cycling tour on hottest day of the year. Room clean with good facilities. Great shower, air conditioning and close to town centre. Room small and breakfast ok - not much choice. Ideal for what we needed. Opposite train station and close to castle carpark.

"Great Location at an Even Greater Price"
travelmeetsfood, 30 Mai 2016

Had a great stay at Best Western Blois Chateau. I usually stay at Best Western's when traveling in France because of the price/comfort ratio. The hotel has nice sized rooms (we had 4 suitcases), great location (parking across the street from train station), great staff, all which added to our very pleasant stay. Another plus is that many of the gorgeous chateau are only a 30 minute - 1 hour drive from the hotel making the hotel location great for day trips. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, instead ate fabulous French pastries at the Boulangerie/Pâtisserie Marlau on the corner of the hotel.

"Good value stop over"
Mike Y, 25 Avril 2016

We spend a reasonable amount of time in south West France and like to break the journey from UK. Blois is an excellent location and this hotel is good value and has the railway car park directly opposite. It is a short, pleasant walk to the centre of Blois with plenty of places to eat.

"A very warm welcome"
Bernardeau, 16 Avril 2016

After quite a busy day we were quite tired and so pleased to arrive at this hotel where we were greeted by a totally charming young lady who soon had the parking arrangements sorted and had us allocated to our rooms. The location could not really be bettered as it is but a short walk down into the centre of Blois. We were only staying for the one night so after a quick freshen up we visited the chateau which is very interesting. Later we strolled around the area until we found a rather eccentric but very good restaurant - 'Le Bouchon Lyonnais" - where we ate our evening meal. Breakfast the next morning was one of the best buffet selections that we have had in a French hotel and was reasonably priced at €12,00.

"I enjoyed my stay very much"
Verwendmeisje, 31 Mars 2016

This decent hotel distinguishes itself with the friendly, extremely helpful staff, especially the hungarian receptionist. The interior design might be quite characterless, but hey.. the beds are good, everything is clean and well maintained, which seems more important to me than the looks. The breakfast is good (except for the very sweet cappuccino). The location opposite the train station and near the city center is ideal. Don't worry about any noise from the traffic or the trains, the rooms are very well isolated. There is a bike rental at 100 m, the perfect way to discover the Loire region and the beautiful castles (Chambord is gorgeous). The only thing I would recommend you is to make sure that you have eaten before your late arrival. The hotel has no restaurant and it is really hard to find a place to eat in Blois after 9 pm.

"Pleasant and Convenient"
DJB25, 06 Janvier 2016

Easy to find since its across the street from the main train station. I find that a real plus after a day of touristing. I hate fighting my way thru French city traffic looking for obscure hotels! Very new interior, good bedding, stylish decor. Bathroom is a bit larger than normal French hotel bathrooms. No issues at all with cleanliness. Slanted ceiling on 2nd floor but the room is big enough it's easy to avoid hitting your head ... and I'm tall. Yes, the elevator is a bit strange; but so what? It works just fine. Didn't eat breakfast but the bakery next door is GREAT! WiFi is problematic on the 2nd floor. It usually works but we had a few issues with it. The staff was very friendly and helpful No hotel parking but street parking was very easy to find. You need to pay (a small amount per hour) after 9am if you are a late riser.

"Good choice for business trips"
ctgo, 22 Novembre 2015

Stayed a couple of times during the past few months at this hotel and I am very satisfied with it in general (rooms, location and service). The rooms are clean and well equipped, there's some little maintenance needed but everything is still acceptable. The location is ideal, just across the train station and if you're travelling by car there's plenty of space to park around the hotel. In just 10 minutes by foot you'll be in the center with plenty of choices to enjoy lunch and dinner. Their breakfast is rather OK, I would have preferred to have fresh fruit and more bread choices, but all they offer is quite acceptable as well. Finally the service is also good, the ladies at the front desk are always friendly and happy to help.

"Comfortable, convenient, nice place in Blois"
JLiss, 19 Octobre 2015

This hotel has a great location across from the Blois train station, close to the old town and walking streets. We stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of our cycling trip, and had a comfortable room that was small but well thought out, with everything you need, modern and functional. The Wifi worked well. The bathroom was small but worked well, with a good shower and heated towel rack. There is a nice little breakfast room downstairs with a buffet b'fast with quite a good selection (eggs, cheeses, meats, fruit, breads, cereal, yogurt, tea, coffee). The hotel is a short walk from the chateau and old streets of Blois with its many restaurants. There is also an excellent boulangerie/patisserie right next door that offers not only breads and pastries but savory sandwiches, quiches, and other options for a quick lunch. We would stay here again!

"Ancestral home"
Mayornancy, 01 Octobre 2015

We loved the location and service was good.blois is a beautiful and friendly place. We hired a driver for chateau trips. We loved Blois, such a beautiful and historic city. Arrived by train, close to hotel.

"nice but noisy!"
blabla28210, 29 Septembre 2015

Nice room, eventhough it was a little small. Very comfortable bed. However, I really didn't like the fact that we could hear our Neighbors. door slaming. people talking. Good spot for one nignt because in front of the train station and close to the castle. I won't recommand if you want to stay more than one night.

"Great Location, Excellent Service"
Brad B, 15 Septembre 2015

On our recent trip to France we started in the Loire Valley with a cycling vacation. The tour company that arranged for our self-guided tour, also coordinated each of our overnight accommodations. This was an excellent choice for the first night of our tour, as we had taken the train from Paris to Blois, and the convienent location of this French hotel was perfect! Located less than 200 yards from the train station, it was an easy walk with our luggage. Do not let the location next to the train scare you away, we never heard the train within the hotel, nor did it interupt our sleep. The hotel is run by a small group of friendly individuals that had better English skills than my French. Since we arrived in the mid-morning, our room was not ready, however they gladly offered to store our luggage while we went and toured the Chateau Blois (which was only a 5 minute walk away from the hotel). After a few hours of sightseeing we returned to the hotel to not only find that our room was ready, but they had also delivered our luggage to our room for us! Unlike many European hotels, this hotel also has an elevator, we were located on the third floor (American) or second floor (European), so the convienence of the "lift" was much appreciated. Our room was fairly spacious, if we had travelled with less luggage, it would have been even more so. More importantly it was immacculately clean! Bathroom is typical European, as well, compact yet functional. We had an excellent night's sleep and were greeted in the morning with a nice continental breakfast. Four or five types of fresh fruit, five types of dried fruit, assorted french cheese, croissants, sliced meats, coffee, tea, juice, cereals, yogurt and if you wanted to boil your an egg, they had that as well, everything you need to get you fueled for an action packed vacation. Overall, we had a very nice stay and were extremely pleased with the hotel!

"Okay for a short stay"
CheekyLondon, 21 Août 2015

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a French road trip with friends. It was okay, but a fairly nondescript place. The building itself was traditional, but has been blighted by a big glass carbuncle on the front, which was a disused restaurant. The rooms are small but adequate. It was unfortunate that our shower didn't work properly - we reported this twice during our stay, but nothing was done about it. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but there is a lovely patisserie next door, which was great (not open sunday). The hotel is convenient for rail travellers as the station is opposite. It is a short walk to the centre of town and Blois and it's chateau is definitely worth a visit.

"Good value for money"
Nicolas B, 09 Août 2015

We booked a standard room for one night in this hotel located nearby the railway station. The room was very modern, well appointed and very quiet. Air conditioning was definitely useful at that time of the year! We did not have breakfast at the hotel as we believed there were better options (e.g. the bakery next door). The little drawback is that it is a bit far from the city centre. In summary, I recommend this hotel as it is great value for money.

"Loire Valley overnight stop"
eym67, 04 Août 2015

We needed a hotel to spend the night sort of in between Chenonceau and Chambord....thus, we chose the town of Blois for our stay. Another requirement was accommodating 4 of us in one room- they have a family room with a large bed (maybe queen or king) and 2 twin beds for our daughters, and a large, modern bathroom. This room was located on the ground floor close to a secondary hotel side entrance (with good security) so we just parked on the side street and brought our luggage right in. I'm glad we had air conditioning here because I wouldn't have wanted to open windows on the ground floor. We didn't have to pay parking because we were leaving the next morning before 9am. Best Western is conveniently located close by the Chateau de Blois so we just walked over for the 10:30pm "Son et Lumiere". I was concerned about walking back to the hotel close to midnight, but the hotel staff assured me it was safe. At the end of the show, many people walked back to the hotel too. The rate doesn't include breakfast, not a problem at all- directly next door there is a lovely boulangerie where we purchased breakfast and cafe creme. Our room was large, very clean and modern. We were very satisfied with our one night stay at this property.

"Disappointing treatment"
globeman29164, 03 Août 2015

Used this hotel as a starting point for visiting some of the Loire Valley Chateaux. Rooms were clean and comfortable and everything worked OK so no complaints there. I stayed at a few hotels on this trip and frankly don't recall if this one has an elevator so if that is important to you because of heavy luggage, disability, etc., better to double-check with the hotel before booking. As I found out on this trip, that is a smart thing to do anyway because a couple of the hotels I had used were advertised as having elevators but did not, in fact, have one - example was the Best Western in Chinon. As far as staff is concerned, That would be the one reason I would never stay there again. I am very particular when it comes to how I am treated by hotel staff since, after all, I am a paying guest. The reason for my displeasure is that after having checked out, we went to have breakfast next door and my wife needed to use the rest room. She went back to the hotel not more than 20 minutes after checking out and was refused access to the toilet there. It was not until a male companion traveling with us escorted her back to the hotel that they finally relented and allowed her to use the facilities. That kind of treatment is INEXCUSABLE in my book and certainly not something you would expect from a hotel chain like Best Western.

"Perfect for a short break"
B0bfield, 11 Juillet 2015

It is a well positioned hotel near to the station, with a comfortable five minute (down-hill!) stroll into town. There wasn't any specific parking for the hotel, but we were able to easily park on the adjacent street for only a couple of Euros a day. There is a very conveniently placed boulangerie/patisserie directly next to the entrance to the hotel which provided us with numerous tasty treats throughout the weekend. The room itself was clean, with a great shower and comfortable bed, perfect for a short break. It is quite modern/newly refurbished with a nice feel about it. Blois as a city is well worth a visit and it provides a really good base for visiting the surrounding Chateaux of the Loire valley.

"Fairly Convenient for France"
22KEG22, 06 Juillet 2015

Blois, France doesn't have many conveniently located hotels with AC, but it does have a summer shuttle bus service that is great for visiting 3 nearby chateaux. Blois also has its own wonderful chateau with a Sound and Light show some evenings. The Best Western is across the street from the train station and a short walk from the chateau, so it's an excellent location. While our room was fine--very comfortable bed, good shower situation, clean, quiet, plenty of room---it was also up 2 flights of stairs! They have a very slow elevator which is really a lift for handicapped people, but we had to take it only one level and then drag our suitcases thru the halls and up the steps to our room which was a bit dark since it had one small window located very high up. We had to stand on something to reach the cord that controlled the shade over it! When I stay in a tiny, quaint hotel or B&B I expect these situations, but when I stay in a corporate chain like the Best Western, I am paying extra for the convenience and am unwilling to drag my luggage upstairs, especially after a long day on trains with inadequate AC. The desk clerk who checked us in projected that air of complete indifference at which so many French service staff excel. We could see from the outside many rooms up one level with full size windows and the hotel was not full, so I'm not sure why we got a room requiring stairs. Also, we had reserved a car rental from Avis which purports to be located at the train station just across the street. It's not anywhere nearby and the service is horrible, but that's another story. None of the 3 desk clerks at the Best Western seemed to ever have heard anything about Avis car rental or renting a car at the train station, which is difficult to believe given their profession and location. We speak a fair amount of French and have been understood in other contexts, so language was not the problem. If you find yourself in Blois and need AC near the train station, the Best Western is probably your best choice. Next time I will stay in another town.

"Je recommande"
Martial P, 07 Mai 2015

The atmosphere of Best Western in France but in to the bargain also smiles and kindness. Good location near the down town and the castel where you can find a very good restaurant on the place with view on the Loire. Free parking place at 50 meters for the night. Comfortable rooms, large choice of foods forthe breakfast.

"Disbled visitor made very welcome."
YandC58, 25 Septembre 2014

We had booked this hotel 16 months previously and needed a larger room for a wheelchair or an accessible one. The one we had booked for us was a little in the wrong place. The staff were extremely helpful and we had room 1, on the ground floor with a walk in shower and large bed. Great access for outside although there are 3 steps. The ramps don't work and were awkward. The staff were really great throughout stay and very helpful.. The room lacked a few things that I think are really needed. China mugs and glasses, they have paper cups and plastic cups. No spoons and no fridge. The room was very clean and well serviced though. Breakfast was good not hugely extensive and out of the four hotels we stayed in all Best Western was by far the breakfast with the least choice, but what there was was very well presented and good quality. The location seems a little strange at first right opposite the train station and on a main road. Great location though for Blois and the châteauxs which is in walking distance and also routes for the Loire. Great restaurant attached to hotel and a good patisserie next door too. Good ramps for access to hotel and also a good size lift to upper floor and breakfast. There is a disabled space right outside Room 1 at no cost. If that is taken ( unlikely) parking is 6 Euros a day at the station car park opposite which is very reasonable. When leaving Blois, don't go during morning rush hour, horrendous.

"I recommend"
Martial P, 09 Mai 2014

Welcoming, professional, clean and quiet. Organized for disable person. Near the downtown and a large parking place free of charge during the night. Very good restaurant near the castle " Le Triboulet"
