"Avoid!"

Me and my husband booked a room here for the weekend. We choose this hotel as it had free parking. Luckily I read the reviews before we left so I was already expecting a very small room and that is what we got. When we arrived to our room it was covered with loads of little flies which we had to spray to get rid of! The size of the room didn't bother us too much tho as we only wanted the room for sleeping. But it's good to note that you do not have any floor space or a wardrobe. the bed was soo hard and uncomfortable and you only had 1 pillow each which were also hard. The walls are very thin and we could hear the people above us talking and having sex. We were on the 5th floor and as soon as we entered the corridor we were greeted with a strong smell of weed and smoke. We could still smell it in our room!it was disgusting. We ended up staying the first night then checking out as we couldn't face another night in a smelly room on a hard bed!! Defo avoid this hotel there are lots of hotels near by.

"Definitely eye catching"
Pettengale, 12 Mars 2020

Staying for business trip. Most definitely eye catching from outside! Booked executive room. Very good size and clean. Large bed. Quite comfy. Ran myself a bath though and when I went to get in, the water had drained away. Plug did not fit properly. Shower ok, but not very powerful. Breakfast ok. Would stay here again if I had to return to Birmingham

"Does what it says on the tin"

I stayed here for two nights (Friday-Sunday) as I had a family event to attend across the road Saturday. The location was perfect. I checked in Friday night and registered my car for parking. Parking is free for all guests during their stay. Check in was fine, quick and non eventful which is what I like after a long day. I didn't have breakfast included in my room it was £8 to purchase the night before and £15 in the morning. I purchased on check in for £8 and headed to my room. The rooms are very small. You can get slightly larger rooms for more money but even they aren't that much bigger. The rooms are also very old fashioned, not modern in the slightest and the decor again is tired. With that being said my room was extremely clean and I had all the basics you'd expect anywhere else, kettle, tea and coffee, iron, ironing board and towels. The bed and pillows were comfortable and made well. My room was also cleaned to a high standard whilst I was out. Due to running late for my event I had to miss breakfast, however the lovely gentleman at reception allowed me to use my breakfast voucher for the Sunday morning instead. I thought this was great customer service and it was handled very quickly. Breakfast was great. Typical hotel buffet style, a few minutes wait for the fried eggs but otherwise really enjoyable. Staff were friendly and cleared tables quickly. If you're going to be out of the hotel for most of the day and need somewhere to stay to lay your head this is perfect. It's cheap, clean and the staff are polite and helpful the breakfast is good and the parking is free. If you're looking for a relaxing weekend away in luxury this probably isn't going to be for you and you'll want to look at other options. If this hotel had a refurb of the rooms and communal areas it would be fantastic. The dated rooms let it down slightly.

"Tiny claustrophobic room"
Smudge444, 11 Mars 2020

Good food and staff but this is the smallest room I have ever stayed in. Windows rattled in the wind and it's the most ugly building ever from the outside. Room was so small I had to leave it as felt claustrophobic.

"90th birthday celebration to remember!!"
leahThommo, 10 Mars 2020

On 7th march was my moms 90th birthday celebration at the hallmark hotel, and the staff went above and beyond to make my mother's experience amazing. The events manager Rachael and chef Tom were absolutely fantastic throughout the planning process and catered the event to all of our needs. We cannot than them enough as I am convinced that without them and the staff behind them the celebration would not have been such a fantastic turnout. Whenever I wanted to contact them, they were available to speak and answer all my questions… and believe me I had a lot! Every enquiry and issue we had was resolved in such a promptly manner with the at most professionalism by all the staff helping at the event and during the set up. From the staff at the front desk to the catering assistants everyone was very polite and prompt to ensure the area was clean, tidy and presentable. The menu was specifically arranged with Tom to cater to the event culture, and was made to such a great quality it was better than my mother, the guests and myself could ever imagine. Furthermore, many guests assumed it was an external caterer and I was proud to say that I met the head onsite chef who reassured me it would be fine... what an understatement. All the guests were so impressed with it all, An entirely Caribbean meal which was more than enough to feed the guests twice over, and was the at most flavoursome, quality, freshly made food and kept hot when being served. The catering at the venue was updated about three times and not once did I get any complaints from the chef event though this may have been slightly disruptive. The hotel space itself was very clean, tidy and the décor was quite sophisticated. The range of space between the lounge and the main hall was easily accessible for all and meant that there was plenty of space for all the guests. Not only did we admire the hall space we had used but many of the guest travelled from all over the UK and booked rooms at the hotel for an overnight stay, none of which had made any complaints. They loved the fact all the rooms had double beds, flat screens, onsite parking and the option to have breakfast too. The breakfast of which was very fulfilling and had a wide range of options of fresh quality food.
