    « Comfortable & Reliable Accomodation »

I stayed in this hotel recently whilst travelling Tassie's East Coast with friends. Using the hotel as a base to visit the Freycinet National Park region, I stayed 2 nights and found you cannot really go wrong with this Best Western. We booked early in the year, a carpark view room that sounds awful but it was really fine (unless you want to be looking out your window/balcony at a view a lot). Seafront rooms were booked out (seemingly due to a coach tour group booked the same night) so book early if that is important to you. I was more than happy with our room anyway for $125 (AU) per night. Check in/out was easy with the staff being very pleasant to deal with. The rooms have nearly all you need for a comfortable stay and look recently refurbished. One small thing missing is a bottle opener though the staff at Reception were happy to provide one to keep in the room during our stay. Oddly the bottle shop next door does not sell them. Just a minor thing really. The bed, pillows and shower were all great which are the key things that can impact on your stay. Plenty of car parking available with parks being just outside each door. A little supermarket is close by, an easy walk. If I ever returned to Bicheno I would stay here again and recommend it for fellow travellers!

« Only pub in town »

Well what a surprise this bar was. Good beer and great seafood counter meal. Efficient service with a great menu that offers a full range of delicacies. Bicheno is a hidden gem and this pub is not to be missed if you get down this way!

    « Friendly Staff »

We were on a road trip and only stayed one night. Friendly check in and competitive rates. It's a basic motel but the room was clean and well presented. had all we needed. Enjoyed the stay but not the restaurant.

« Well located, good accommodation »

Stayed two nights at this property. The staff were extremely helpful, nothing being too much trouble. The property has everything you want... ocean views (some rooms), heated pool, guest laundry, balconies, off-street parking. Added bonus is the adjoining restaurant & pub (with bottle-shop). Great location overlooking the ocean.

« Fantastic comfortable clean accommodation »

Stayed at Best Western Bicheno for a night. The accommodation was very clean and modern. Large rooms with a very well appointed bathroom. We had Sea View room with a patio over looking the ocean. Great views. The parking was great with allocated parking right outside your door. The laundry facilities were great. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend staying.

« Clean Hotel, Friendly Staff »

The rooms are very bright and clean. Location is fantastic. Within walking distance to town centre. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I've read other people's comments about the speedy wifi but this certainly wasn't the case in our room. The wifi was very slow and almost unavailable. The only complaint I have is that there should be quiet times (like there is at a lot of other hotels). We were in a room in the middle of a large number of people who checked in together. Therefore at 630am when they got up to leave they were calling to each other across the rooms. It's almost midnight and the people 2 doors up are still partying!! If you want less noise and better sleep this is not the best place.

    « Comfy but noisy »

Great views, warm and comfortable. Would have been 5 stars except for the noise from other rooms and bistro carpark and the slower than ideal wifi. Great breakfast, well worth the money. Try the quirky Sealife cafe up the road for tasty fish and chips

    « Average »

The location and accomodation were both brilliant! Can't say the same for the staff, unfortunately. I'm in the process of planning a second trip to Tassie and this is one place I will be avoiding. Shame.

    « Quiet Getaway »

Stayed for two nights with a day trip to the Wineglass Bay. Rooms are well heated, clean and spacious. Walking distance to the beach. The bistro there serves good seafood. Otherwise, just walk or drive down to the city center for other food choices and supermarket.

« Warm, bright and comfortable »

I stopped in Bicheno twice during my trip. The first time I stayed at the Wintersun Gardens Motel and I refused to stay there again. The second time I stayed here and it was a big improvement. The front desk person was friendly and helpful. The room is bright and quiet and best of all.. my room was WARM. They have great heaters that warm up the rooms in just a couple of minutes. Not that the room was that cold to begin with, but after a day of hiking around in the cold, turning the heat way up when I arrived, was heaven. There are white fluffy towels in the bathroom, lots of hot water, an expanse of counter space, and a very large bathroom mirror. They also have facial tissues which I really appreciate. They offer the standard small refrigerator, toaster, water kettle and some mugs, and glasses for your use. They also have a sign in the room letting you know that you can heat food up in the office. Their WIFI isn't limited by day, data amount, or any such ridiculousness. They just give you code, you plug it in, and it WORKS. I've discovered that WIFI in Tasmania is a fickle thing. If you come from another country and don't have unlimited cellular data, you'll come to appreciate good WIFI when you find it. They have that here. I love the location practically across the street from the town's grocery store, and within walking distance to the penguin tours and restaurants. They have a large parking lot so you never have an issue parking, or getting your car in or out. All that I really ask for is a clean, comfy place, with no aggravation, that I feel at home in while I'm travelling. The Best Western Beachfront definitely fits the bill for me and I'll be happy to stay here again next time I come to Bicheno.

    « Well positioned. »

Nicely positioned just on the edge of the shopping strip and attached to a pub. What more could you want? The receptionist even apologised to us for not being able to give us an ocean view room, even though we didn't ask for one. The room was spacious, quiet and clean, and for the tech-heads, the wi-fi connection was first class. Would definitely recommend.

    « Beautiful Water views »

Great family room, with view over the water. Close to the restaurant and pool area. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Both rooms had access to balconys and shared one bathroom. Would definately stay there again. The whole area was quite as it was October but I'm sure in the summer months it would be a lot different.

« Good country bed and food »

This is a great midway point to stay on the east side of Tassie. Also cheaper than Freycinet/Coles Bay area.A real country motel but with bigger than traditional rooms. Good beds. Walk in shower. Lots of hot water. Dinner at the in house restaurant which is also the local bar and casino! Very odd but carefully separated areas avoid confusion. Food was OK but reflected the country feel. Breakfast to the room. Laundry facilities available. There is also a well maintained pool but with snow around it was not an option for us. Altogether a pleasant stay. Can recommend this place.

    « Large, well-appointed, modern »

Was lucky to be offered 1st floor room with good water views. There room was large, bright with modern bathroom. Set back quite some distance from highway with uninterrupted ocean views. Shops nearby. Staff helpful.

« Bus trip around tassie »

Accommodation supplied by aatkings , bus trip around east coast of tassie , this best western is 3star , clean, good refurbished bathroom , old motel revamped. Not too flash but good location , quiet rooms . Opposite the main beach. Food in motel restaurant good quality ??

    « Clean and Comfortable »

We spent two nights at the Beachfront and were very pleased. Although the actual building had a very dated motel feel, the rooms were modern and clean. The bathroom was large, a recent redo I suspect, and there was a courtyard overlooking the pool which I'm sure would have been lovely to sit at if it hadn't been torrentially raining throughout our stay! Overall would recommend to anyone staying for a short trip in Bicheno.

« Very comfortable and relaxing Accommadation. »

If you are looking for a newly rennovated and very pleasant "on the water" accommadation on the East Coast of Tassie, try Best Western, Bicheno. Comfortable rooms with balconies facing the bay are well worth a visit. Food and service was outstanding. Highly recommended for couples, families or the large group too. Also, has a pool for those keen to swim, a bar, and a Bistro is also attatched for good dining and fun! Room 20 had a wonderful bathroom with a walk in shower and plenty of towels etc..... Just a wonderful experience.

« Cozy room, great price »

I stayed in Bicheno with my family for one night. The beds were comfortable and cozy, our room had two double beds, a tv, a mini fridge, a working a-c and a good sized bathroom. The bathroom was clean and had soap and shampoo to use. This hotel was good value and was a great stay.

« Comfy room, good price »

We stayed here one night and found it very comfortable and clean. There's not much to do in Bicheno and I can't imagine that I would ever return, but if you need accommodation in this town you could do worse than the Best Western. We found the check in staff very pleasant and the room clean and comfortable. The bathroom was great, with thick towels and excellent water pressure and temperature regulation in the shower. They provide soap and the 'conditioning' type of shampoo which I didn't use so can't comment on. The room was quiet in the middle of winter and overall I would recommend this place (though not Bicheno itself as a holiday destination).

« Nice clean, comfortable accomodation »

Nice staff, very welcoming. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Warm air conditioning, 2 bedrooms and 2 tv's. Close to everything we needed and would recommend and stay there again. Value for money and good for families

« More back row than beachfront »

Really disappointed with the accommodation. The kettle did not work on arrival, the swimming pool was poorly maintained and not heated, the rate was extortionate, the WiFi is advertised as free but we were told we would have to be located in reception for it to work, we were told that unless we left our room in five minutes then it would not be cleaned, the beds in the room moved all over the place and the mattresses were low grade and needed replacing. I expected a refund but none was provided. That was probably because we were the only ones staying at the venue!

« Good place to stay »

Room clean and comfortable. Staff very approachable and very helpful. Bistro had a good choice of gluten free food for my husband who has Coeliac Disease. Good location - we had a water view room so we could sit out on the balcony and enjoy the water view.

    « ?????? What was that »

Firstly, let me say. I have visited this establishment numerous times in different guise. With 'mates', on a 'blokes' golf tour, passing through on the bike and so on. We were deluged by rain an used it as respite for the night. Room; a little on the "hexy" side, middle of winter? Room modern and equipped, overall fine. We ventured to the bar for a pre dinner drink and mattered to the friendly and very helpful bar staff. Back at the room we inspected the restaurant menu ,??? Ok. Downfall. Ambiguous. Orderly who didn't listen and 'wrote off' our order! After waiting for what should have been served , an eternity, we were served our main which must have been prepared earlier, until we pointed out the entree blunder. I would assume mains were put on the back burner whilst we engaged the entree, as , when they turned up they had been cooked within an inch of their death !! WHY, did we order dessert ?? Pancake, pairs & chocolate fudge = pre constructed flour water & sugar, canned 'nothing pairs' with IGA chocolate topping , for 12 bucks!! What was that ?? The evening spent listening to the rain in a cozy well appointed room almost compensated! Not !! Lift yer game during the winter for local Tasmanians!! Don't be so Cali's !!

    « Comfortable »

Needed a quick bed for the night enroute to the north east of Tassie and was delighted with my stay at the Best Western. Haven't been in one for years and wasn't disappointed. Queen and single bed room with immaculate bathroom and tea making facilities. (Plenty of tea and coffee). Usual TV and was given free Wi-Fi without being asked if I wanted it. Of course I did! Anyhow, I expressed a desire to visit the local Blue Penguin Rookery and they phoned through and organised a pick up right to my door. This was great considering it was raining. The lady on reception I met again the next day on checking out and she was most pleasant and more than helpful. Hospitality at its best.

    « Amazing!! »

Exceptional stay, we returned for a second visit on the same holiday!! Rooms are all very clean and modern. Exception facilities. Very accommodation and lovely staff. The bistro is great and part of the accommodation, good hearty meals and a reasonable price. They will even deliver to the room! Highly recommend. We stayed in the pool view room 39 and it was great. On the second stay we where upgraded to a two bedroom ocean view suite which was also beautiful. Highly recommend

    « One night stay »

Got here early and were allowed to check in which was lovely. Room was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable. We ordered room service from the on site restaurant for dinner. Mine was very nice but hubby wasn't fussed at all with his. A bus load of asian tourists arrived close to midnight we think it was and proceeded to wake up a very full hotel with their noise. They were so loud and when asked by the man in the next room to us to be quiet were for about 1 minute then were back to being loud again and then carried on for another half an hour The staff we dealt with apart from one were very helpful and nice. A nice place to stay

    « Good Reliable Motel »

Stayed here for work and thought it was a good solid 3 star motel... Staff were friendly and welcoming and room was well set out and clean. Bed was very comfortable and electric blankets in Tassie are always a favourite addition for me. The meal at the attached bistro was great value for money. I look forward to my next stay here.

    « Seaside doesn't = seafood »

You would think a seaside town with fishing boats bobbing in the waves right in front of its resteraunt would have the best fish to offer. Unfortunately I ordered a $45 fish board and it turned up like a Fishermans basket from an corner store. Deep fried and very underwhelming. Well priced but Over priced for what we have come to expect in Tasmania for oysters came with a bucket of thousand island cocktail sauce. Was not the bustling seafood haven I visited 20 years ago.

« Great central location, clean, tidy and warm. »

Stayed here for a couple of nights whilst heading down the east coast on a holiday. Apart from a little glitch with our room on the first night the place is very clean and tidy, serviced daily, and nice and warm. Located right in the middle of the main part of town means you can walk to everything. The only thing? I appreciate the toaster and a knife to make toast but a plate wouldn't go astray :)

« Last minute trip up east coast »

Disappointing to say the least. We have stayed here about 3 years ago and had a lovely time. However this time a different story, checkin was a line 6 deep with 4 behind us and receptionist had no sense of urgency. Standard spiel given to all before us that the bistro was open for dinner, never was mentioned that we should book. The room for $110 was fine, just to let you know...we headed to the bistro at 6 to be told they were full and no interest or concern from any staff member until we found a guy in the bar that wrote us in the reservation book. We got a table at 6.40 and by 6.45 decided what we would like and I stood in a long queue whilst the older woman taking orders laughed and chatted and puddled around whilst customers in line talking amongst themselves about this place. I got to the head of the line at 7 (15 mins to order was a joke considering in the bar were 3 male staff and 2 young waitresses chatting in gaming area) and then waited for 2 minutes while same woman sorted out table numbers that had been handed back in and resorted glasses..I think she may have sensed my intense anger that she finally looked up. I placed our order in record time and we received the very underwhelming meals at 7.45. Interestingly people leaving restaurant mentioning how average it was, even the couple two behind me in line when ordering saying how awful the meal was. So the accommodation was ok, location was ok but everything service or quality wise was way below average...Beachfront Bicheno bistro seem to be relying on the fact their customer is only travelling through and is not a threat. Wake up guys!!!!

    « Good stay »

Stayed one night on a tour. Clean, good size room. Bed comfortable. Shower area was a long and short oblong shape and not much room to move around. There is a bistro and restaurant that serves dinner, good quality food and pricing. Breakfast - cooked, juice, tea, coffee.

    « All good »

The true rating of this property is a 4 based on it's location and great staff. The rooms are solid. Nothing special. There are clean and inviting, but beds are a little hard. But that could just be me. We ate at the bistro which was pretty decent but I think a little pricey for what we got. Great for families I think.

    « Clean and tidy »

This motel provided a convenient place to stop over. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and tidy but I exciting as far as a place to stay. I wouldn't recommend spending too much time here. We didn't manage to get a room with a view but they seemed to be nicer and even had balconies so if you stay then I would recommend asking for one of these.

    « Enjoyable stay »

Stayed here for two nights en-route from Hobart to Launceston in order to visit the Freycinet Peninsula, which is ~30min drive away. Room was clean and we were satisfied with the provided amenities. Outdoor pool is heated but still rather cold in Mar/Apr weather. The sea view room faces onto the main road but there isn't much road traffic so outside noise isn't an issue. The hotel is close to the few town shops and the beach (walkable but we still drove as you need to cross the main road). There are few food options nearby and most close by 4-5pm so dinner options are limited. We ate at the Beachfront Bistro (side door was like 20m from our room), where a lot of locals ate - meals range between $20-40 and most are served with chips and salad.

« Good value place to stay on the east coast of Tasmania »

We stayed here for two nights on a road trip around Tasmania and used it as a base for visiting the Wineglass Bay area. We had a standard room at the back (i.e. not looking out towards the beach) which was pretty good value. The bistro attached to the hotel serves good basic pub food. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We made use of the buffet breakfast service delivered to the room as we had early starts - this was good value and was delivered promptly.

    « Best western Bicheno »

Check in staff was very friendly and helpful. She knew her hotel and town very well. very clean and tidy hotel in a very good location. the restaurant served some very good meals and the specials board has some very good meals on it.

    « Lovely! »

Great location so close to town, free use of bbq facilities, nice secure playground for the kids, nice clean room with plenty of space. Really friendly staff (Jennifer) who gave us some great local advice. Two thumbs up from us! ..........................

« Nice outlook over the water »

We needed somewhere to stay on our drive from Hobart to Launceston and Bicheno was roughly half way for us. There isn't a whole lot of choice here but this hotel was quite alright. Parking right at the door and a nice outlook out the back. Room looked as though it had been renovated not too long ago. The wifi at this hotel was very bad though - almost to the point where I would say there wasn't any as it just didn't work.

« Perfectly located & suited our needs. »

We've stayed here for the past 3 nights, it is a very clean motel with friendly, helpful staff. Swimming pool & spa, BBQ's & a laundry. Wifi is free, maybe a tad slow at times but given the distance from major centres quite good. The adjoining hotel does a great meal & the views over Bicheno are superb. The motel is centrally located so that trips to Freycinet, inland to St Mary's or north to Bay of Fires are easily accessible.

    « Perfect for a short stay »

Very clean and simple motel. Has everything that they said it would. Bistro was fully booked but they made sure we could get a meal as we were hotel guests. Wifi was a bit slow. Outside patio was a nice touch as was bbq facility and swimming pool. Very friendly and helpful staff

    « B&B for one night »

The room was large, and the bathroom was huge There was a double shower in the bathroom and the continental breakfast was plentiful. We ate at the Bar/Bistro and although there was a coach there, we didn't have any trouble getting a table.

« Good place to stay in Bicheno »

Lovely upstairs room with great view of bay. Very quiet. The room had a couch and a nice computer work area. No microwave but it did have a toaster in addition to the kettle and refrigerator. AC unit was a little loud but the weather was such that we really didn't need to run it. Sat out both nights we were there on the balcony - very comfortable.

    « Freshly renovated »

Have stayed and several places in Bicheno previously and found the Best Western amongst the best. Recently renovated rooms, clean, nice outlook over sea, quiet and helpful staff. Penguin spotting is a highlight. Can be tricky to find dinner in town if your eating late.

« Good hotel with excellent location »

This hotel is on the beachfront with views of the sea directly from your balcony. It is well equipped with everything you need. Staff is helpful. The room was somewhat impersonal - not much of an atmosphere.

    « Had a few drinks »

The only pub in Bechino, so not much choice. They have a great menu, though we chose not to eat here. Walking distance from our CP, so much better than driving. The bottle shop is OK also, better than a lot.

« Pleasant stay but very quiet »

The room that we had was adequate and overlooked the sea which was lovely. The breakfasts and evening meal were very nice as well. Bicheno itself was quaint but everything seemed to close down at 5pm. The wifi was very poor in the bedrooms.

    « Great views »

Basic clean and comfortable with great views and friendly staff. Has an attached Bistro/bar which is handy if you want a quick bite to eat or drink if you don't want to go out at night. Also room service for breakfast of required. Easy stroll Ito the local shops and beach as well.

    « View is great »

We stayed here over night on 26th February. Room is ok, wifi ok, bed comfortable. Wandered around to see the sights, great little town. Pub next door, great meal at reasonable prices, great view to eat dinner. Breakfast ok, toast delivered to your table, cold before we served ourselves, basic eggs, bacon etc, but filled the spot, before we headed off to Hobart. Great for a one night stop over.

    « Surprisingly good »

Despite the cover photo , all of the rooms don't look this good from the outside , but they do on the inside , modern comfortable and clean , great bathrooms , and just feel good altogether , the attached pub for drinking and dining is just a bonus , and close to all in town , best tip , the seafood platter in the pub rated highly

    « Comfortable. »

Booked this hotel on line, glad we chose this hotel. The hotel had lovely views over the beach ( with terrace and table & chairs ) and is a short walk shops. Spotlessly clean, and comfortable. Special thanks to June for her very kind advice regarding best travel alternatives.

« Good value, beautiful view »

We arrived without a booking , we had one of the new rooms upstairs, so had the beautiful view, I was worried because right next door to local Hotel, we didn't hear one sound very quiet and peaceful, and rooms are new and very well done, only problem was we only had one night there, but we will be going back.

« great views and location »

Sadly could only book in for 1 night as they were booked out for our second night, our fault for not booking earlier. Great motel in a good position opposite the ocean with spectacular views and next to a lovely hotel with great food and can charge back to room. Left our mobile phone on the table in the public bar and somebody kindly put it behind the bar for us and we were able to get it the next morning, good to see honesty. Beautiful town and motel. Rooms have recently been renovated very nice.

    « WiFail »

We stayed in a beachfront unit for two nights and left somewhat disappointed. Biggest bugbear was the ridiculously poor WiFi setup where it is impossible to obtain service in your room with reception blaming too many guests and to log on at reception and then go back to your room. This appeared to work though still prone to drop out. It's 2016 folks, no excuses are valid, you advertise free WiFi and antiquated haphazard service should no longer be tolerated. Aside from that rooms were nicely appointed though no Foxtel or alternate viewing options which was disappointing given the lack of Internet capability. Rooms could do with some artwork to break up the gaol cell feel of the small 26 square metre of floor space. Suggest replacing the two seater couch with a couple of tub chairs as the limited space restrictions prevents watching TV from the couch. Overall disappointing and would have expected better at $160 a night and Best? Western.

    « Excellent Location »

Stayed 2 nights in a seaview room. Nice modern room and bathroom. Wonderful views of the bay. In room breakfast perfectly adequate. Excellent on site restaurant. Short walk to beach and town centre. Great coastal walk. Definitely recommend paying for a seaview room, rooms around pool are ok, but the original rooms are a little dated.

    « Good for a night »

Well located in Bicheno though not actually beachfront at all, it is a couple of roads back on the main highway. Our room was compact (2 adults and 13 yo). It was equipped as a hotel rather than a motel so no microwave or cutlery. The pool was a big attraction for our daughter but no way was the temperature anywhere near the claimed 30 degrees. The staff were friendly, check in easy and the beach accessible as were the local restaurants, the place is very central. Best of all we managed to find a spot where we could see the penguins coming ashore - this happens when it has got dark, no good going while it is still light. We were there on Friday night so there was quite a lot of late short term noise in the car park as there is a restaurant/bar on site.

« Great Place To Stay »

We had a sea view room which was very clean, confortable and modern and well above our expectations. Even though the room was on the main road facing the ocean, it was set back and quiet. The motel is well located and easy walk to all shops and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and organised us to be picked up from the motel for our penguin tour even though we did not book through them. We had fish and chips at the Gulch which was fresh with the best chips ever. Definitely recommend and will stay again

« Cosy stay by the sea »

Very nice, clean and modern room. Had a lovely sea view and large balcony. The hotel has a good set up and a cosy feel by the sea. The shower was pretty weak and the wifi not great but had a comfortable stay overall. The bistro was full on our arrival and so had something from one of the takeaways which was fine but there's not a large variety in Bicheno.

« Beachfront Bistro in the hotel. »

Nice place to have dinner with a view in a basic cafe-style setting. Not suitable for a romantic dinner for 2! We both had different fish dishes & they were delicious. Staff were friendly & prices for wine & food were reasonable.

    « Cozy Comfortable Hotel »

We stayed here only one night; the rooms are comfortable, good bed and pillows. Bathroom is big and clean. You can walk to the beach, and into Bicheno. There is a swimming pool and area for children to play. Free WiFi

    « Nice view. »

We booked in for one night, had one of two upstairs rooms with a great view. The room was clean and fairly spacious, the staff were knowledgeable in the local area, but we didn't eat in. The place was quite full, but was not noisy, and even though it is situated on the main road through town, no road noise was heard during sleeping hours.

    « Actually pretty good »

Clean rooms with big bathroom, 2min walk to beach, good play area & pool for kids, parking at your front door, friendly staff (thanks Meredith!), rooms a bit noisy (thin walls), good towels and shower

    « Nice motel »

Nice motel definitely staying here again. Clean room. House keeping staff very friendly. Staff at reception friendly. We stayed in a room looking out onto the pool. Were you can sit and have you coffee in the morning just outside your room on your private varanda. You also have a laundry room and 2 barbecue facilities Grate for families

« Great views and very clean hotel »

We had spent 5 nights camping and it was such a pleasant surprise to walk into our beachfront room. It was immaculate - the bathroom new and very clean with a private balcony overlooking the bay. The staff were very friendly and the service exceptional. I would highly recommend this great little motel - if they had not been fully booked we would have definitely extended our stay.

    « Full of surprises »

I'll be honest, my expectations were very low when we arrived at the Best Western; however, I was pleasantly surprised when we walked into a very clean, spacious room! Traveling with three other people, all our rooms had a beautiful balcony, fluffy towels and comfortable beds. We all slept very well!

    « Convenience all-round »

Stayed for 2 nights. Found the hotel to be perfectly located for everything we needed to do. You can park the car and basically walk to everything you need in Bicheno - the beach, coffee shop, restaurants, convenience stores, pick up for the Penguin Tour. The room was clean and a small balcony provided great views of the ocean. People were friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

    « Superb dinner »

We went for a drive looking for somewhere for dinner. Ended up in Bicheno. So glad that we took a chance and called in. The Beachfront Bicheno was found to be modern, well laid out with plenty of room. Most of the tables were reserved which gave a heads up on quality. We had no trouble finding a table. The ocean views were beautiful. We cannot recommend the highly enough. Our order appeared in no time. This is the best place to eat out of Scamander, St Helens and Bicheno if you want to travel for a short drive. Recommend the Beef Schnitzel and Megaliscious Super Sundae.

« Great location, close to CBD and Beach »

This was a nice little place to stop and rest. The Hotel room had all you needed and we have a patio with ocean views. The room was clean and bed was nice. Bicheno itself is a small town. Not much to see regarding shopping but the penguins and blow hole are a must see. Also great cheaper alternative to stay if you plan to go to Freycinet but not pay the price tag.

« Comfortable, everything was clean & worked »

We spent an evening at Bicheno Penguin watching and stayed at the Best Western. It was as clean as a whistle. Everything worked as designed. Heaps of hot water and a decent sized shower. The rooms were a generous size, comfortable and had a well stocked bar fridge. It had a guests laundry, pool and was close to the beach. It wasn't overpriced. The PENGUIN TOUR BUS PICKED UP FROM THE HOTEL ??.

    « A nice stay »

My family had a pleasant stay at the Best Western in Bicheno. The room was comfortable and basic for our short stay in Bicheno. There is no microwave or cooking allowed in the rooms. They have warmers if you need to heat food which can be requested from reception. I would recommend this accommodation for families looking for a short stay in Bicheno.

    « Great Little spot »

This review is for January 2014. Perfect little apartment for our brief stay in Bicheno, great amenities and beautiful views. Room was nice and comfortable and staff were a pleasure to deal with. Would stay again if I was to visit the area. Check out an awesome penguin tour if you have the time to do so!

    « Lovely accomodation »

This is a very popular accommodation at Bicheno. We stayed for one night with sea view. Check in was efficient and friendly. We enjoyed the night penguin tour nearby and there are some restaurants -5 minutes walk as well. The room was one of the nicest that we have stayed in Tasmania. With the exception of a cobweb and some insects appearing at night, everything else was great. The bed and pillows were comfortable and we had a great rest. The free wifi did not work well for us but it was an overnight stay so it was not a big issue. The bathroom was gorgeous, with a huge shower area. The water pressure and hot water was perfect- compared to other accommodation that we stayed in Tasmania. We opted for room service breakfast as we had a balcony facing the sea. Note that the sea gulls are out in full force and we had to finish up our food in a hurry! This is one of the best stay we had in Tasmania and we would not hesitate to stay again if we head back to Bicheno in future.

    « A Pleasant Surprise »

This was my first stay at this hotel having dismissed it and driven past many times and I was very pleasantly surprised at the overall offering. The number of rooms is much greater than I had thought and therefore I imagine there are a variety of standards and configurations available. The location with respect to the Bicheno village cafes and restaurants is very good. Our room was a standard twin - a queen and a single. A good size, it was well appointed and clean. The hotel takes bus tours but they appear to be accommodated away from individual travellers, certainly in our case they were. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, particularly in highlighting breakfast and dining options available and the demands of the tour groups. We ate in the hotel, on the deck and were again pleasantly surprised. The menu is relatively standard pub fare with orders taken at the bar but the quality was good and the bar service friendly and efficient. This isn't a five star resort but it is well appointed, comfortable and has, or is close to, all you want in Bicheno. It will be my first choice accommodation when I next stay in Bicheno and I am happy to recommend it.

« Great accommodation in Bicheno »

Highly recommend this place to stay whilst in Bicheno. Water views, friendly staff, parking available plus the room was nice and clean. Close to everything you need whilst staying in Bicheno. Didn't eat at the bistro but the menu looks good.

    « Comfortable stay »

We stayed here for 1 night in late Nov 2015. We booked a Triple room. Overall, we were quite satisfied with the spaciousness and cleanliness of the room. Bathroom was spotlessly clean. Free Wifi. There is a laundry room. Hotel is very near to the beach. We drove down along The Esplanade to watch the penguins at night. We will recommend this place especially to those who find Coles Bay too expensive and also those who wish to watch the penguins at night.

« Great place to stay in Bicheno! »

On our recent trip to Tasmania, I stayed in Best Western Beachfront Bicheno with my husband & teenage daughter in a family room. The rooms were clean & tidy with good amenities. The restaurant attached is lively with lots of locals & tourists & great value food. Bicheno is a quiet country town but has beautiful natural attractions, blowholes & penguins. Great place to visit!

    « Holiday »

We stayed two nights here was lovely and clean staff were very helpful our room was very clean i would recommend this Motel to anyone to stay. The Tavern/Bar connected to the motel serves up a wonderful menu of fine foods which we enjoyed

    « Lovely motel »

We stayed here and had a lovely night in this comfortable, clean and warm accommodation which had everything one could want. It was very accessible, too - and easy to visit the restaurant attached for dinner and breakfast.

    « VERY NICE »

had lovely experience. very nice staff who couldn't be friendlier or more helpful Room was very clean and well appointed. Beautiful views Very relaxing atmosphere Restaurant attached has good meals with ample selections to choose from.

« Large, clean rooms, very friendly staff »

This is a very nice property, close to the beach at Bicheno. First up- great staff- we reached after the reception closing time, but the lady at the front desk waited for us to ensure we wouldnt have any trouble with the rooms. She'd also arranged breakfast for us the next day. The rooms were large and airy, absolutely no complaints. The breakfast was adequate, nothing fancy but it served the purpose. There's a swimming pool, but this was springtime in Tasmania and we weren't up to the challenge. There's a tavern attached to the hotel, we ate dinner there, but it was nothing special.

« Nice Motel, Watch your head. »

Pleasant motel accommodation, clean comfortable and well facilitated. We had rooms overlooking the pool and accessed from the rear of the property. Beware of the veranda overhang. It is dangerously low in some spots and if you're over 5'7" you WILL hit your head............

    « Beautiful views »

Stayed here recently for one night. Our room was comfortable with all facilities provided. Sitting on the balcony overlooking the bay drinking Tasmanian wine was a very relaxing way to spend an afternoon! There is a tavern attached to this motel with a basic menu and the same lovely views. The staff were friendly and helpful and I would stay here again.

    « Excellent Weekend »

Recently I arranged for a group booking to Bicheno, nothing was too much trouble, the rooms, food and service were impeccable. The poolside rooms were very quiet, clean and well presented. The best endorsement we could provide was that everyone was looking forward to returning next year.

« Comfortable and Beautifully Clean »

We recently stayed for one night. Our room faced the road with the water view behind. Lovely view. Road noise not an issue at night, but maybe in peak season it might be. Our room was fully supplied with essentials & beautifully clean. In the evening we did the penguin tour which was wonderful & incredibly well organised. Staff were excellent with children on the tour. We were lucky with the weather. On our return following the tour, we ate at the bistro. Meals were generous & enjoyable. Motel staff were extremely helpful in answering local knowledge type questions. Bicheno is a lovely seaside town with plenty of services & a fabulous bakery.

« Family weekend at Bicheno, Tasmania, Australia. »

I stayed here with my daughters, and we had a most relaxing weekend. We had a very comfortable room overlooking the water, with a balcony leading off the room. We enjoyed the room service, as a treat, and sat on the balcony with a glass of wine, a tray of fresh oysters, and a magnificent view! We ate at the tavern connected to the motel - and had the most delicious seafood meals at a very reasonable price. We were really impressed with the quality and flavour of the meals for the cost. I wouldn't eat anywhere else if staying at this motel - it was great value! The staff were very friendly - they even lent us a pack of cards to take back to the room with us, to return the next morning!

    « Clean and comfortable »

This is a perfect place for a one night stopover.. It's nothing fancy but it's clean and comfortable and has a tavern and bistro right next door. We enjoyed going for a walk at the beach and headland across the road. The staff were helpful and friendly. I'd recommend this hotel .

    « A very basic motel. »

Bicheno is a small town. There is not much to do. All the stores close early. We were planning to go watch penguins, but due to the weather, we decided just stayed in the hotel. The room is small, basic, and clean. There is not much choice for food in the neighborhood. We ate at the motel restaurant. The restaurant provides simple, nothing fancy food. It is ok if you're looking for a place to stay overnight.
