« Good location »

Great location close to the centre and Friedrichstrasse station. Staff very friendly and helpful. However the room layout is odd with the bathroom squeezed in and our corner room was quite cold (though a portable radiator had been left in the room). Continental breakfast was good but very little cooked breakfast and not well restocked

    « Great location!! »

A wonderful and helpful staff. The location is exceptional, within walking distance of most important sites. They have bikes to rent at reasonable rate that allows you to visit sites outside walking distance.

    « Ideal location »

Fantastic location in Mitte, 5 mins to Reichstag and Brandenburg gate also 20 mins walk to Alexanderplatz. Hotel staff staff not helpful or friendly, didn't mention any places to visit considering the location was so close. breakfast average for costs. Can get better breakfast elsewhere near to hotel.

« Good location small rooms »

Location is good and within walking distance of the station Rooms are small but adequate Fair priced room in a quiet location Perhaps suggestions of where to eat would've been good, try muckrakers Italian in the same street Brandenburg easy walking distance

    « Great Visit »

What a great stay. I was worried beforehand about the location but once I arrived, I had nothing to worry about as the hotel is close by to a train station which I used to get to a number of attractions that were further out and the hotel was closed by to other closer attractions such as the Reichstag building, Brandenburg Gate, The Holocaust memorial and the Berlin Wall memorial. The room was the standard size which you could expect from a European room. The staff were friendly. Also one day during my stay it was snowing and upon returning back to the room, the maid had left a heater which was unexpected but welcoming as it was cold and I thought was very nice as well. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay here for a future visit.

    « Great staff great location :) »

Stayed 4 nights last week Weds- Sunday 2 female friends. The hotel is quiet clean and in an ideal location being walking distance from all the major tourist sites lots of restaurants and bars and the river. We didn't have breakfast there as there are many other options nearby but sat and had a drink at the small bar a few times and it was really pleasant. Also very good value for a central location. The only downside was the room was a bit small for 2 females with lots of clothes etc but probably ok for a couple. Would not deter us going back though. The hotel has the best staff would like to say thank you to Christin and Alexander they really went out of their way to help us. Berlin is great and the people are so nice! Would definitely go back later this year,

    « Never again »

The location is perfect: near Brandenburger Gate. But the rooms! So small that, when I put down my overnight bag, I could not walk around the room anymore! Internet connection is free and the speed is from 1990!! Breakfast is fair for 13 euros, but parking - in the street with a vignette they give you - for 11 euros a day is high. Don't say I didn't warn you!

« Excellent location, great price. »

I was completely pleased with this hotel, it is really close to Charité Mitte, where I attended a conference, but also close to many other interesting or historic places to go in Berlin, everything within a walking distance (or using public transportation) I got a room on the 8th floor with view to the south, it was just perfect, a little tiny, but it work perfectly for me, very comfortable bed. I did not take the breakfast (extra cost) because outside there are a lot of different choices around. The service was really good, I will definitely recommend it and when I travel back to Berlin, would stay there again! Thanks.

« Needs serious repairs ASAP »

This hotel needs serious repairs in terms of plumbing. We had three rooms on 3rd floor. Two of them had to be exchanged, because of terrible (damaged plumbing like) smell inside. It was so bad that you could smell it while standing outside of the room....

« Won't give refund for ?free cancellation? within policy »

Their customer service team acknowledges I am owed a refund for my ?free cancellation? booking ? cancelled more than nine months before the window closed. Yet despite numerous emails, calls and conversations, it has been more than 5 weeks since I canceled with no refund. Buyer beware!! My numerous interactions with Best Western have been more than frustrating.

« Great location, clean quiet and good value for money »

The location of the hotel is excellent. 10 mins walk from Friedrichstrasse station, 15 mins from the Brandenburg gate, 5 mins from the river, with a great selection of bars/restaurants close by. The hotel is clean and compact - the rooms aren't massive but they're perfectly adequate and very clean. The staff are helpful and courteous, with all front desk staff speaking very good English (and indulging me a little in my attempts to speak German!). The hotel is on a quiet street and we didn't experience any noise issues at all. We didn't partake of the breakfast, but it smelt good! We were able to obtain an hour's grace on the checkout time, just by asking at the front desk. There are tea and coffee facilities in the rooms, along with a safe. The wifi worked well and was without issue. There is a secure storage facility to leave your luggage on day of checkout. Good value for money, and a great place to use as a base for a trip to Berlin.

« Long weekend in Berlin »

Excellent stay in this hotel that can be found a few minutes walk from Friedrichstrasse Station. We were easily able to walk to the Reichstag and the Brandenburg Gate in under 10 and 15 minutes respectively. The rooms were a tad on the small side but more than adequate for a short stay: the bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent and it was clean. Would definitely revisit.

« Reasonably priced option in Bern »

This hotel is centrally located, with a good restaurant, serving breakfast and good quality evening meals. The rooms are spacious and clean, although the bathroom is a little dated. Offers good value for money in Bern where prices are traditionally high.

    « Christmas markets »

This hotel was ok our bedroom was very small as was the shower room . When you came out of the shower the space you had to get dry was neat to say the least . The beds very comfortable and clean . We didn't use the breakfast room while we were there so can't comment . It was quite central for most sites but if you arrive in the dark and have taken the train difficult to find .will definitely go back to Berlin but not to this hotel

« Fabulous Location in the heart of Berlin »

Spent 3 days on a first visit to Berlin and could not have asked for a more convenient location; easy walk from the main train station (Hauptbanof), the Brandenburg Gate, most museums, and restaurants along the River Spree. Room was spotlessly clean, comfortable (if a trifle warm at night) and staff was friendly. A hotel to definitely recommended!

    « Pleasant stay »

This hotel is located within walking distance from Friedrichstraße and is a convenient choice. I found the room to be comfortable and, more importantly, quiet at night. The only downside is that the room is rather small, though definitely suitable for a single traveler. Overall, it has been a pleasant stay.

    « A good place to stay »

Comfy bed, good shower, clean, friendly staff. front desk permanently "manned" and it's reasonably priced. Not much more one can ask for in a room. Not a big room but adequate. It's was also only 150m away from the underground and was within reasonable walking distance to many of the tourist "must see" places.

    « Overpriced and uncomfortable »

I stayed in this hotel in early/mid September and I would echo the comments of those reviewers who said that their room was far too hot and that the air conditioning worked very poorly. My room on the 1st floor was generally unbearably hot, the only slightly opening window let in very little fresh air, and this is certainly not a place to stay in summer! In addition, my bed was too short, (I am 5 foot 11), the lift was not working throughout my stay of 4 days and had apparently been inoperative for two weeks! On the plus side the staff were friendly, there is an excellent little cafe nearby Albrecht Strasser Cafe, and it is in a good location. The strange looking large building next door is an old WW2 bunker with a penthouse on top! In summary if you can book this hotel for about £50/40 a night then the value is just about OK, but for anymore it is really not worth it!

« happy but house keeping needs to step it up a tad »

my partner and toodler only stayed one night in a double room. After along day of sight seeing i was delighted with the centrality of the hotels location. rooms are small but big enough not to feel too cramped. bed sheets were clean, as were the shower and carpets. there was a stain on the carpet near entrance door. there is tea and coffee provided in the room. unfortunately there was a hair and dust in one of the mugs which turned me off. beds also separate so if you have a small child sharing the double bed is two singles pushed together. quiet typical in europe. but will split apart easily. there was also a squashed bug on one of the curtains. breakfast was very nice. lots of food and a good choice for everyone's tastes. i would stay again. very quiet. no noise heard at night which is great for being in the city.

« Best Western Hotel Berlin Mitte »

Stayed for four nights in a twin room. A really clean and comfortable, well thought out room, with one of the comfiest Hotel beds I have ever slept in. Shower was great really powerfull. The staff were really friendly and helpful, even letting my Daughter and I watch the Enland Ladies Euro semi final in reception. Shame we lost. Really well situated for to get around and see places of interest. Close to the train station, but not at all noisey.

« Great location and excellent value »

Excellent value, walking distance to the major museums and the Brandenburg Gate , Reichstag and other Berlin historical places. Hotel staff hospitality is amazing.Next time I will visit Berlin I will stay in this hotel again.

« Not Best Western standards! »

My wife and I stayed at this Best Western Hotel for four nights from the 22nd June 2017 to the 26th June 2017. Upon our arrival and checking in at the front desk, I produced my Best Western Rewards card to claim my four night's points only to be refused! I was told that unless I reserved on the Best Western internet site that my card was invalid! We were very tired from travelling so I decided to pursue the issue the following day. We were checked in and given our key to our room only to find it so small that even for a single person it would have been a problem! The room was listed as a Business Double room. At this point we just wanted to sleep and address the issue in the morning. We discussed the next morning changing hotels but decided to stay here rather than spend a day of our Berlin vacation looking for an alternative accommodation. The day before we checked out I once again brought up the issues that I had with my Best Western Rewards card with different front desk personnel, who agreed that rewards should be issued for my stay but never offered to rectify the problem! I did not pursue it any further. The room was so small that we were unable to open one travel case, let alone 2 cases and move around in the room. Please see attached photos. We actually wondered if Best Western was aware of these issues confronting ourselves and other travelers. The curtains in the room were dirty and stained and the carpet was grimy and disgusting. The beds were fine and house keeping kept the room as clean as they possibly could. Very quiet at night and sleep quality good. The buffet breakfast was adequate but no matter what time you had breakfast whether it was as soon as they opened or later in the morning the hot food was always just barely warm and hardly edible. Good location near everything but there are much better options.

« Someone stole our wallets in the hotel that enough? »

I've been there with a colleague for business reasons. The first day while we were having breakfast someone stole our wallets in the hotel room. The staff did absolutely nothing to confort us, on the contrary try tried to accuse us, we receive no help from them nor a kind attitude towards what we were going through. be careful if you stay there.

    « Great location »

We stayed here during our visit to Berlin. It was clean, comfortable and has friendly staff. Food options for breakfast were great. There was laundry service available. The location was great for catching the bus. Several close restaurants that had great food. Would definitely return.

    « Good location »

Ideal for visiting tourist attractions such as Brandenburg gate , Berlin Wall, museums, checkpoint Charlie or stroll in park. Helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable bed/room. Hot water. Good breakfast

    « Berlin's best!!! »

Lovely hotel, very friendly helpful staff too. Good location very near the main train station. Arrived early not expecting to be able to check in but the room was ready which is always a bonus. The room was very clean and comfortable and although it was near the main road it was extremely quiet. The breakfast was well worth the price too, loads to choose from and set us for the day!!!

« Loved the big sized room! »

The hotel is close to the train station and to the centre of Berlin. Breakfast was fantastic and a large variety to choose from. Noticed there was no toaster to toast bread. There was no bar fridge in the room which I thought was inconvenient as the days were hot and we needed to cool our bottles of water. Friendly staff at reception kept our bottles in a fridge near the reception. There is a patisserie directly across from the hotel and a nearby convenience store to pick up snacks and drinks. I would stay here again.

    « Clean, simple, straightforward »

Nice room, good deal, clean made bed, hot water (shower was a little small, but can't complain for the price), clean bathroom. If you're just looking for a place to crash, this is a fantastic offering.

« Great location. Nice hotel. »

To repeat what others have written: great location if you like walking to many of the major sites; 5min walk from a plethora of public transportation options if you don't. Easy to get to from Tegel airport - TXL bus and <10min walk (get off at Charite-Campus Mitte stop on Luisenstrasse) or connect from TXL bus to Bus 147 and you're practically at hotel doorstep. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Housecleaning could have vacuumed the room more often. As others have noted, room on the small side but we were lucky enough to get a room facing the front of the hotel and these seem to be a bit bigger. Also meant we had a bit of a 'view' and weren't facing the WWII bunker-turned- art museum across the alley. Room had a small work desk and coffee/tea making facilites. In-room safe won't fit laptop. Toilet has it's own door but nothing separates the room itself from the shower (great water pressure and hot water) so you better be comfortable with yourself and your partner if you stay here. Only reason I did not give the hotel a 5-star rating is because the rooms lack a mini-fridge. This would be enormously helpful to those not wanting to fork over 12 euro per person for breakfast or to those wanting cold drinks during the occasional summer heatwaves. There are a few restaurants and cafes in the immediate vicinity of the hotel but they didn't seem anything to write home about. Of course, the further out you wander the more options you have. There's a Lidl supermarket 5min walk around the corner on Luisenstrasse. And here's somethig I did not see mentioned in previous reviews which helped us out on one occasion: a couple of minutes walk from the hotel, close to the corner of Schumannstrasse and Luisenstrasse, there's a Dominos pizza outlet which is open till 24:00. Not what you'd want to eat in Berlin but handy to have if you arrive back at the hotel late after a long day of sightseeing.

« good place for the price »

they offer a very good quality and the price is not expensive. it is very confortable, the staff is really helpful, and very good located, easy to go everywhere in the city. they offer good rates out of peak season/weekends

    « Thumbs up »

Location-super. If you like walking, shops are near, train station is near, most of the BErlin attractions are near and there are lot of restaurants and backery just outside the hotel. The hotel room-its fine. The room is not big but clean. I just think when you're a breiter person the toilet door is not wide enough. The hotel breakfast-great. There are lots of choices.

« In the Backyard of politcal Berlin »

If you have business in the political center of Berlin this is the place. In walking distance of German Parliament all related hotspots of politics are in the neighbourhood and the Hotel is OK, has quiet (small) rooms, good and not so expensive breakfast, metro is nearby, airport (Tegel) in 20 minutes distance.

« ok but no great »

Hotel is ok, quite small room if you get a single room honestly. But it's clean and it has the basics. Breakfast buffet is quite strong with a lot of options to chose from and quite full with food always. The cafeteria is big so no problem finding sit even in peak hours. The morning front desk lady the days I was in (19th October) needs to relax a bit also, the guy sitting next to her has the same amount of work but handles with a smile, she on the other hand is upset the whole time, answers very harsh and is obviously overwhelmed by the situation. Needs to chill and take life differently. life is beautiful!

« Smelly carpets, tiny rooms and unfriendly staff »

The smelly, stained carpets in the corridors continue into the tiny, overly compact rooms. The brown dirty carpets create an odour in the room can only be compared to old, smelly feet. Unfortunately, the windows do not open, so you're stuck with this foul, stale odour for the duration of your stay. Reception staff - well at least three of them - appeared cross and impatient, and not the slightest bit service minded. All in all an unfriendly and smelly experience from start to finish. Do book one of the many other brilliant hotels in Berlin, and avoid Best Western Mitte completely.

    « Long weekend »

The hotel is situated in a good location. The room was basic but comfortable. Unfortunately the room was in need of a deep clean and repainting putting a bit of a downer on the experience. Staff were friendly and helpful.

    « A Cosy Stay »

When we entered this hotel, I thought the floor needed cleaning. White with brown smudges. The next day I realised it was just the age of the worn tiles. Staff were okay, perfunctory. The room was unbelievably tiny and barely fitted our cases (let alone ourselves). It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It wasn't the sort of hotel that you could have some relaxing down time in. We booked it for Aud $98 months before. We tried to get a room for our daughter the day before we arrived but the cost was near $200. It definitely was not worth that price. Overall, it was just okay.

« Good location and clean »

The hotel is in a good location. 15- or 20-minute walk from central station, less than 10-minute walk from Friedrichstraße, which is a good transport hub, and 10- to 20-minute walk from lots of restaurants. The reception staff is relatively friendly and they speak English well. The room is small and the shower is a bit odd, but nothing insurmountable and I just needed a place to lay my head at night. Room and hotel in general was clean and well maintained. I didn't eat breakfast there. If you can get a good rate, I would recommend staying here.

    « Handy location »

The hotel is well situated within easy walking distance of the Brandenburg Gate and Friedrichstrasse, but the hotel itself may not be to everyone's taste. Parking is a few minutes away from the hotel and if you stop to get a pass from the hotel you get into trouble with the security from the Ukrainian Embassy next door. The rooms have one aspect which is not really obvious from the photos on the website - the bathroom is open plan within your room with the wash basin and shower in a tiled corner of the room. According to the receptionist all the rooms are like this. The reception staff were efficient. In short, the hotel is OK, but there are others (also within the same group) which are more comfortable for a trip to Berlin.

    « Great stay »

The room, as all Best Western hotels, was up to expectations. The location was convenient, the breakfast a very good value, and the help/information received from the front desk was very useful. The only negative about the room was the shower: The shower was a clear glass door/partition without a separating wall/door. This was no problem for me as I was travelling solo, however, occasionally I travel with my teen age granddaughter and this would have provided an embarrassing situation.

« Worth it for the location »

Obvious thing to mention is that the rooms really are small, that said they are clean and functional for a few days. Staff are average, girl on reception with red hair was nice and helpful but no one else really stood out. Breakfast is pretty usual fare and quite average, if i stayed here again i would walk along the road and find somewhere else to eat. Location is superb, lots of nice places to eat and drink and trains and trams are only a few minutes walk away from the hotel, also it was nice being so close to Alexanderplatz, Brandenburg gate, holocaust memorial etc, overall i would recommend this hotel.

« Not the best western »

I have come back today from The Berlin Mitte .. paid 277€ for two nights accommodation including breakfast . Checking in staff had a dismissive attitude (female didn't catch her name) . Bar was a section of the reception desk about 5ft in length . Went up to room on the second floor , never in my life have i had such a small hotel room .. nowhere to put cases , could open the door whilst sitting in bed on the plus side spotlessly clean. The overall feel of the hotel was one of being in a youth hostel ... Would certainly NOT recommend this hotel

« Good enough, great location »

The hotel is easily reached from the airport via the excellent Berlin train system. The Friedrichstrat train station is only a 5 min walk to the hotel, so I would recommend the train w/o hesitation. The hotel is in a great location, especially for eating and drinking. The hotel and train station are right beside the Spree river which runs through parts of Berlin. There are several riverside restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, several with seating right along the river across the street from the main restaurant. There are ATM's nearby, Freidrichstadt Place performing arts theatre plus shopping on Freidrichstadt street as well(except Sunday) The Brandenburg Gate is within walking distance, along with Checkpoint Charlie and other Berlin wall museums, etc. The hotels location may be better than the actual hotel. We stayed in a double room which was very small. There are 2 beds, but they are pushed together with very little room to push them apart for some personal space. the room has a shower, room with a toilet and tiny sink, small desk and chair and that's about it. It is probably the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in, with no room to spare. The beds are very small and you can literally reach out and touch the person next to you. The AC was also inadequate during our stay when the temperature in Berlin was 25-30(75-85) We stayed 2 separate times over a 10 day stay in different rooms and both times the room was hot making sleeping uncomfortable. The hotel offers breakfast for 12 Euros or so which we did not try due to the large # of choices nearby which seemed to be more economical and interesting. The nearby train station also offered fast food choices such as Macdonalds, Dunkin Donuts & small grocery store. In conclusion, the hotel is modern & adequate, but with very small rooms. If you are large people, I can guarantee you will not be happy with a "double" room, as you will be breathing down each others throat when sleeping. Maybe a room for 4 would be much larger, but I cannot speak about that. The location is great for eating & drinking along the river and as a base for further travel around Berlin using the nearby Friedrichstrat train station. We would use again mostly because of the location but have seen enough of Berlin.

« A very good centrally based hotel »

We stayed here due to the fact I was able to redeem points from my rewards account but the hotel is very nicely laid out with modernised rooms and clean common space. We were in an deluxe room which could sleep 4 but as a couple we found we had plenty of space to relax. Our room was bright and airy with floor to ceiling Windows along with two velux Windows. The beds were comfortable and the bathing area was modern with a good powerful shower. The breakfast selection was a good representation of the continental breakfast with variable options including hot food. The staff were very friendly and helped when ever needed. The location is ideal with ba s and restaurants close by. You could hire bikes at €12 per day but we chose to walk everywhere. If we were to return we certainly look at this hotel again.

« Comfy stay in berlin »

The hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the train station and easy to locate. We had just had a terrible night train and had barely any sleep luckily they let us check in early which was a god send. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful The room was clean and comfortable. It did have tea and coffee facilities. The shower leaked water out the bottom of the cubical and meant the area near it was rather slippery. Not a big issue but thought I'd mention it. The breakfast buffet was tasty and well presented (Was included in our stay) Not to far from the Brandenburg bridge and the richestag but will probably had to walk and public transport around the city They offer a very secure luggage storage where they lock it in a room and give you a ticket.

« Good budget option in Mitte »

This is a great budget option in Mitte. The hotel is just a few minutes off Friedrichstrasse in the heart of Mitte, but in a quiet location. My room was small but comfortable and fine for me and it had great floor to ceiling windows so let in plenty of light. The breakfast was good and the staff very friendly with good English. Overall a good place to stay for the location and price

    « Convenient »

This was chosen for three days' sightseeing with the family. It is close to Friederich Strasses Bahnhof and also the Brandenburg Tor and the Tiergarten. The rooms were quite small in my opinion but well laid out and comfortable. The beds were twin but pushed together, little scope to push them apart. The shower was very powerful too. There is a reception with friendly staff with a small bar/lounge area next to it with sofas backing onto the outside window. The breakfast buffet was very nice and extensive with plenty of fresh produce and tasty bread and pastries. I thought 12 euro a bit steep though especially for the children. My son ate a couple of rolls and some honey so not good value. We had two double rooms for two nights with breakfast and it cost over 400 euros, although the receptionist told us it would have been cheaper if we had booked further ahead. The air condioning was audible but nor too bad There is no restaurant in the hotel (other than breakfast) but plenty of nice places to eat nearby so not a problem to have dinner.

« Enjoy staying in the centre of Berlin »

Well situated and close to all the main attractions of the city of Berlin. Also within a short walking distance of good restaurants and bars. The helpful staff gave good information as to things to do and sites to see. Well recommended for short stays!

    « Good location »

Very good location. Close to all sites. Short walk to station. Great restaurants at the end of the street and lidl supermarket 5 minute walk away. Nice clean rooms. If needing family room you need to inform hotel directly as our first night we had a double bed for 4 of us. Great breakfast with large buffet including bacon and scrambled egg. Very friendly and helpful staff

« Good location with terrific breakfast »

We stayed for 4 nights and found it a very comfortable, clean and convenient hotel with an excellent breakfast. The front desk was always helpfult and willing to answer our toursit questions. The restaurants in the hotel were good. It had a gym and swimming pool. It was perfect for our family of 7.

« 2 Travellers, looking to stay Central »

We stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms are incredible- comfy beds, powerful shower, clean, modern, safe, wardrobe, kettle! Very small but perfect for 2. The reception staff were super nice, lots of maps there. (We didn't have breakfast there as we couldn't foot the €12 per person bill. But there is a cafe on the corner of Albrechtstrasse and Reinhardstrasse called La Gino, which does pastries, fruit, yogurt and everything you could need for breakfast/packed lunch.) 5 minute walk to Sbahn Freidrichstrasse station and Ubahn Oranienstrasse station! And same corner as La Gino is the 147 bus 5 minutes to central station.

« Agreeable rooms. Excellent Breakfast »

The rooms with double bed was extremely small where shower and sink are part of the space. The TV is located in a niche difficult to watch. Desk space is also limited if you plan to work. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Suitable for short stays. Breakfast (included in the rate) was excellent.

« Our Eight Days Stay. »

We spent 8 nights at this hotel... It was our temporary home !! Excellent location, close to to many entertainment entites including bars, Restaurants and close to all Key Transportation facilities. Walking distances - For want to walk Folks, Max walks to all places around five - Ten minutes.

    « Berlin June 2016 »

Excellent location within walking distance to museum island, Brandenburg gate, etc. Felt safe walking back in the evening. Room was clean, bright, well-serviced and comfortable. Only suggestion would be a door on the shower area as not all travellers are couples or families! Friendly, helpful staff and overall a great hotel.

« nothing really good to say »

desk service was bad to say the least not friendly at all.......very small room privacy for shower no door from bedroom to shower. and the size of the shower was no bigger than a coffin. andthe a/c worked but everything was like you were in a cool humid space

    « Arrival at hotel »

Just wanted to praise my welcome at this hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful. My room is not huge but is comfortable and has everything you might need The location is excellent and the service second to none. I would happily stay here for longer

    « Clean but small »

We felt that our stay at the Best Western Hotel Berlin-Mitte was a very good value. And that was what we were looking for for the two nights we stayed there. The rooms were clean although I noticed the floor of the lobby didn't look all that clean. Not trash, but it needed a good scrubbing. The desk staff was very accommodating and pleasant to us. We did not choose to eat at the restaurant in the morning as they wanted €12.5 apiece for the breakfast buffet. We did much better at a café on the corner a block away, spending about €12 each day for breakfast for both of us. This hotel is in a very good location to walk to a lot of the sites he would want to visit including the Brandenburg gate, the Tiergarten and Reichstag. For economy, we would recommend this hotel, but be aware that the rooms are very small for two people, the soap and shampoo and body wash are all one product in a dispenser you squeeze and the rims can get very warm in the afternoon so keep your drapes closed while you are away for the day. And typical in a lot of European hotels, there are no washcloths. But we always travel with them because we are weird this is sometimes the case.

    « Horrible desk service »

Once arrived at the hotel they could not find my reservation. Took *one hour* before I could check-in. Throughout the whole process the members of the staff where suspiciously and condescendingly looking at me.

    « Expensive!! »

I expected more than I see when I entered room for the price I have paid. Old rooms and beds, think twice before reservation! If you had no other option, maybe here would be ok!! In berlin you can find a good single room for about 60 or 70 euros! The gave me a dbl room instead of sng room but it does not even meet my expectations!!

« Great hotel in Berlin Mitte »

The hotel is located behind a ww2 bunker so it is quite calm and quiet night time, lots of restaurants nearby to choose from as well as just a short walk to famous Berlin sights. The rooms are very clean and of good standard but they are a bit on the small side. The beds were very comfortable and great that you can choose which type of pillow you like. Great breakfast buffet with plenty of choices. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I would be happy to return. I can recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Berlin!

« Central location, but not particularly convenient rooms »

Stayed here during a work related trip in March 2016 for a few nights. Breakfast was good. I was sharing a twin room and the room can be a little claustrophobic. The large window helped, looking over at a gallery which I was unable to visit due to its opening hours. I found it rather strange that the toilet was separated from the shower only by a glass wall, that didn't seem to fulfil its purpose as a wall at all. I also found the shower set-up to be rather dysfunctional, more so when sharing the room. The location is very central so that was convenient. If on a business trip I would suggest to avoid sharing a room.

« great location and price!!!! »

stopped here for 4 nights from the 2nd of may 2016 and found no negative points about the hotel, below are some of the plus points!!!!! great location next to the ukraine embassy which is only 5 min walk to one of the main train stations(Berlin Friedrichstraße station) short walk to many bars, restaurants and major landmarks(Brandenburg gate, reichstag and more) lidl is only a few minutes walk should you require and food, drink etc for your room The rooms are not massive as some people have mentioned but i have stayed in smaller and for the price i dont think you can go wrong(£55 a night).free wi fi too!! The staff were pleasant and allowed us to check in early and stored our bags on departure for no fee!!! overall i doubt you can find a better hotel for the money in this central location.

« Friendly and centrally located »

The room was very clean, albeit a bit small but it is in an ideal location for exploring the sites especially as there is an s bahn station just a few minutes away. There were plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful too. Only downside is that the room could do with a fridge to keep drinks cool as the room was really warm.

« Perfect location, very clean, cheap »

The title says it all really. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room is small but very clean and modern. Good shower in the room and a 24 hour bar. 3 min walk to the team that will bring you to Alexanderplatz in 3 mins. Good places to eat around the hotel also.

    « Great Central Location »

Located centrally, Best Western Mitte is perfect to explore Friedrichstrasse and other monument based area of Berlin by foot or underground. The room was really modern, nice and clean with the necessary items such as wifi, sockets, good pillows, kettle for tea/coffee etc. Breakfast was a nice basic buffet with a bit of variety for everyone. Parking can be done in the hotel car park nearby or in the street right by the hotel (obviously taking into account time and fares for parking ticket).

    « Small but Charming »

So, I don't have a lot fo experience with hotels in Europe as I am usually staying in hostels but now that I am older I tend to book hotels instead for quality and privacy. Anyways here is my review: Pros: GREAT location, so close to everything! Staff - super nice and excellent, exceeded expectations for Germany, especially the owner's son/nephew. He was super fun to talk to and cute. They have a litte bar which is nice and cheap with good beer Rooms and general areas were pretty clean, just a few little areas of attention to detail misses Beds were comfy (but small for someone my height) Breakfast was good but the menu never changed Cons: I know it's Europe but the rooms are so small, I hate it...especially the new meaning to the term "Wash Closet" because it's literally the size of a coat closet No parking Other than that, for the price, you can't go wrong so i could definitely recommend it!

« Great price for the lcoation »

Wanted a centrally located hotel that didn't cost the earth and we found this little gem. It was about a 10/15 minute walk to Brandenburg Gate, there is a train station about 5-10minutes away, shops and restaurants are nearby too. Staff were nice and breakfast was good. Rooms size was a little on the small size but still large enough to move around (there were 2 of us) the bathroom didn't have a door (the toilet was separate with a door) however there was a solid wall for some privacy and we arranged a curtain as a makeshift door - if i was travelling with a partner this wouldn't bother me but travelling with your parents/friends might find this a little bit of a nusence - as their isn't much room between the shower door and where the wall ends for privacy. The bed was a little hard for my liking, the room was a little on the cold side even though we had the heating on and turned up as high as it would go. On arrival the reception smelt of cigarette smoke

    « Berlin - International meeting »

Great location, rooms are exceptional clean and the staff overall is very friendly. Berlin is a lovely city and the people here are equally as lovely. The city is walker friendly and the public transportation is fantastic!

    « Okay »

We stayed here for 4 nights, our 2nd destination on our 3 week Euro trip last December. Our stay was okay, the hotel is close to all major attractions and near S bahn & U bahn access. But, the room is so small. The heaters were not working during the rest of our stay, so we ended up not sleeping so soundly. We tried the breakfast once and we were satisfied. We thought of moving to another hotel but we stayed instead because when they put us in a smoking room on our first night which triggered my asthma. The next day we request to be moved to a non-smoking room, the front office guy immediately attended our request . And he is very helpful and always smiling. very good customer service skills!

    « Great hotel »

We arrived early and was given a room straight away with no problems. The reception staff were very helpful with information on travel and the sites. We had gone in December to visit the Christmas markets and it was within walking distance of most however there was easy transport links close by. The breakfast was very good what you would expect from a chain hotel with wide variety of hot and cold food, fruit, cereals and pastries.

    « top hotel »

This hotel was superb, good staff very helpfull. I got a early check in without any problem. The rooms look very good, the bed slept great and the bathroom was very clean. I liked the hotel very much.

« Good, clean, quiet and comfortable »

A nice clean hotel, the room was quiet, facilities were good. Hotel is conveniently located and the staff were polite and helpful. History of the building next door was also quite interesting. Probably wouldn't bother with the breakfast though plenty of nice cheap options near by!

« Great localization reasonable price »

The hotel was with reasonable price with great localization next to the Friedrichstrasse. There was a small green area around the hotel IT was important because i travel with dog. Room was rather small with Best Western standard. Breakfast was ok, with some warm food. Service also was good. The Best things its the localization of the hotel and reasonable price. I can reccomend this hotel.

« Good location and value »

Conveniently located - within walking distance of both the train station and the downtown core. The cost of the room was great for the amenities and the staff was very helpful. Breakfast was a little loud and lacking but there are many places nearby that offer great alternatives.

    « Simple but practical »

The hotel is small and simply furnished. However, there are all the normal features in the room including free wifi. It was complicated to understand how to turn the heating on in the room. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The breakfast included a mix of hot and cold food. There is a metro station nearby as well as shops and bars. It is also a short walk to the bus stop for the TXL airport.

« Good location, small rooms »

The hotel was in a good location, not too far from where we wanted to go. For what we paid we didn't expect a massive room however the rooms are very small, there wasn't much space to move around at all. Toilets are tiny with no window and the shower in our room had no curtain just a glass door so if you're going with someone you don't want to see you in the shower don't go! Other than that couldn't fault the hotel, staff were helpful, rooms were clean and beds were comfortable, there's also a bowl of delicious sweets in reception that I couldn't help dipping into every time I passed.

    « Weekend Stay - Excellent Location »

Stayed here for a weekend in November as we wanted to stay in the Mitte area of the city. This hotel is about 10 minutes walk from Frederichstrasse which is good for getting into and from the airport (Schönefeld). The room were relatively cheap, Although the rooms was relatively small, there is no wasted space. You have two single bed which combine to be a double if needed and you have a small bathroom and a separate toilet. All quite cosy but it was no bother for me. I had breakfast booked but only made it one morning and a lot of the food had gone by 9.30/10 so get down early. My friend made it down approx 9.30 on the morning I didn't and said there was a good selection, which wasn't the case when I went down so a bit hit and miss. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is free wifi, which was good most of the time. One slight downside which is the reason not for a 5 star - the housekeeping are very noisy in the morning - which is fine if you are happy to be up and out for 8/9am but i fancied a lay in and all I could hear was slamming doors and furniture being moved.

« Close to many things »

This is a pretty basic hotel with small rooms, however it is close to basically everything. It is a short walk from the Fridrichstrasse bahn stop, about two stops away from Berlin Hbf and a 20-30 minute walk from Alexanderplatz. It is about a 20 minute walk to the Berliner dome as well as close to quite a few shops. Easy to find breakfast or can eat at the hotel for 10€

    « A GOOD Recommendation »

This hotel has a terrific location with close proximity to the Main Rail Station in Berlin, good dining, memorable shopping, good sightseeing and easy access to the many points of interest in Berlin, Germany

    « central and comfortable »

We're just home from three nights in this hotel and have to say, even though the room was quite small, we actually loved it.The rooms are like an Ikea styed room, making the utmost of the space.Beds are memory foam mattress - absolute dream to sleep in, fab shower, has all you need. Location is excellent, very central and is even situated right beside a bunker from WW2.If youre going to Berlin, book yourself into this hotel !

    « 4 Day Stay November »

Nice rooms Nice staff Good location Plenty shops and resturants on the doorstep Really good shopping Very good day trips available for all budgets Take the jump on jump off bus, there are 3 different routes round the city the 2 day pass is the best value

    « Hotel OK »

I found this bw hotel centrally located in easy reach of the sights. The room was standard and clean and the staff helpful. If I had booked via the bw website I would have got the internet rebate and the bw points but would not have been able to cancel booking.

« Welcoming & freindly stafrf, & great location, ex »

It's always a pleasure to arrive at this wonderful hotel which is so close to the train stn and surrounded by really interesting cafe's, restaurants as well as good shopping. The renovated rooms are comfortable and quiet and the staff welcoming, friendly, efficient and overall extremely professional - --Highly recommended!

« convenient inexpensive cheerful hotel »

The strong points of the Best Western Mitte is its location, its relatively inexpensive cost, and its clean, cheerful conditions in the midst of Humbolt University buildings, only a couple of blocks from the Berliner Ensemble Brecht Theatre, and Museum Island and the Spree Riverbank, This is an excellent location for a scholarly visit to a largely student district of Berlin. Everything in Berlin Mitte is pricey, but I pre-booked an off season, weekly rate here which was very reasonable. Large German breakfast buffet, clean and quiet rooms, and helpful staff. The downside is that the rooms are small, although well equipped. The other guests seemed to be mostly German when I was staying there.

« Ideal location for sight seeing of Berlin »

The hotel location is ideally positioned in part of the old Mitte and very convenient for the local underground station which was only 5 minutes walk from hotel. The hotel is of recent construction and the reception staff were all very friendly and very helpful.

« Everything you need for a basic accommodation »

The hotel is in a great location and costumer service was very friendly. There is nothing fancy, but you can walk to main attractions, including train station, and coffee places and restaurants within 500 m radio.

« Good location and value. »

Great location. Close to train, underground, Museum Island and many choices for eating places. The hotel was within easy walking distance to Museum Island and its many wonderful venues. It was a wonderful value.

    « Not bad! »

Service was ordinary and I felt like just a number. No real greetings or any special treatment. Even when I mentioned I wanted to go to the airport at 3am, I had to suggest that they call a taxi for me! The room was nice and good value for money. The food offered in the cafeteria was above average and had a suprising array of food. This hotel is right next to the subway, so you should have no problem getting around.

« Efficiently Small, Clean, and Comfortable Room »

I was travelling in Berlin with my boyfriend and we had a very nice stay at the Hotel Berlin-Mitte. The staff was very friendly and they were able to check us into our room right away when we arrived even though we were early. They were also very helpful in getting us maps, giving us directions to the closest sites, and calling a taxi to the airport for us. The hotel is very conveniently located. It is close to the Brandenburg Gate and a lot of great restaurants that overlook the water. The hotel staff was able to recommend a lot of great restaurants right in the immediate area around the hotel. Our room was small, but in a way that I actually found kind of charmingly efficient. Everything was new and clean and so I didn't mind that the bathroom area was small. It was more than enough room for a couple, and since we spent most of the day out sightseeing it was just what we needed. The wifi in the room worked well. The breakfast was okay, it was a very large spread but the room was a little drab and I didn't really think it was worth the extra fee. But in general our stay was very nice and we would come back again.

« So central and great staff »

Stayed 3 nights and was very happy with this hotel. Very close to Brandenburg Gates, station and great restaurants. The front desk Manager couldn't have been more helpful showing where the main attractions were and the easiest ways for us to get to them. The breakfast room staff were also very helpful and calmed down an extremely aggressive American female one morning with great tact well done staff.
