"pick another best western, losing confidence in the brand"

I booked this hotel online for a work conference because it was close to our venue and it was pet friendly. No place did it mention that there were no access to a safe to store items. I didn't find this out until the Friday before when I called and asked specifically. They told me I could not use the desk safe. By that time I had no time to find other accommodations. I knew there would be a $20/day pet fee. Upon check in I was also provided with a pet contract that states if they get two complaints about your animal you are to leave amongst a page worth of other items that required signature. I was on the first floor, but the gentleman checking me in failed to tell me I was on the complete other side of the hotel, or which letter door I should use to access closest to my room to unpack. Nor did he enlighten me that there were suitcase trolley's available. Instead, they watched me struggle in with my bags and dog crate for multiple trips. Until a nice lady from the cleaning crew assisted me with the crate on the last trip in. The room seemed average. Once I finally got in. My key cards only worked every third or fourth time. I found gatorade caps and other trash under the edge of the bed. The bathroom light turned itself on multiple times during the night. There is no fan in the bathroom so when you shower it stays wet and fogged up. There is plenty of hot water, and the ac worked well. The only water fountain I saw was near the gym and it was broken. I notified the desk of same to which i was grunted at. There are nice USB plugs on the lamps, but they are also broke, and the regular plugs there are so loose you can't get a good enough connection to charge anything. For a pet friendly hotel, there is only one little triangle of grass on the entire property. You need to get creative to walk a dog without getting run over due to the traffic from a dunkin donuts next door and another hotel since we are on the main drag. I noticed something else huge. Every exterior door, (they all have letters) had a key card access. That should lock in the evenings. Except not one door was ever locked. Including the gym. They threw someone drunk out the one night and the manager told me they were back in the am. Of course they were, bc the doors are never locked. When I told her this there was no response. Evening 1 we got zero sleep as people were slamming doors and yelling all night long. Morning 1 I accidentally drop an earring down the sink. When I request maintenance to remove the elbow, I am told they are gone for the day. I am told by two desk personnel and one person at breakfast that evening and the next morning that two persons will be in that day (day 2) and will await my return. I vowed to be back early. Upon my early return, both persons are gone per the desk staff. They know nothing about it they claim. Next person I am told arrives at 5. I return to my room to walk the dog in meantime as I have a long drive home. Now my key cards stopped working completely. I return to the desk for new keys mid stay. This is getting ridiculous. The gentleman finally shows up late, then cannot find accurate tools. In the meantime, the manager removed a day stay from my bill. Which didn't do anything for me as this was a work paid trip. It takes another hour and a half to get my earring back so I could check out. When I return to the desk to checkout the manager is gone and the staff can't get my bill to reconcile so I may leave. Going back, day 2 begins with meeting 3 officers in the hall called for a disturbance already. At 0545 hours. Probably the same drunk that the woman across the hall was yelling at and kicking out at 6pm the night before. Oh wait, it was according to the front desk! The lack of professionalism and security at this facility was appalling. I have stayed in many a Best Western and never had an experience this bad. Register with caution.

Room was very clean, beds are SUPER COMFORTABLE and the breakfast was soo good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I had an issue with the waffle maker so the employee told me it broke and got help she actually made me a fresh waffle with all the fixings and apologized and gave it to me. Another great feature here is the inside pool. I will be returning as soon as I can.

Great fun ,(pool & Spa) Comfy( room & bed) Best ( all you can eat Breakfast ) The staff is helpful , the Breakfast was more than you could ask for & Rosa our Host is the Best !! Bathrooms are clean & modern , thes beds are soooo comfortable I had trouble getting up & swimming in the really big pool was so much fun with my grankids!! Loved it !!

I was in the Philadelphia area for just one night. The hotel I normally stay at was under renovation so I had to look for another place to stay. I called the Best Western Bensalem and spoke with Sabrina. She is very knowledgeable and excelled at customer service. She made me feel at home. Thank you Sabrina!

This hotel had super comfortable beds and clean rooms. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. We had everything we needed in our room - including a good size mini-fridge (not the small cube sized dorm ones), a microwave, and a good iron (always important to me when I travel!). The room had PLENTY of outlets that were easy to access, including two on each of the lamp bases and a four plug outlet on the wall near the desk. The bathroom was a little small, but this wasn't a big issue for us. The pool and hot tub were both good - not too hot or too cold, salt water instead og chlorine, which is a plus. Breakfast was ok, your standard issue fare. They did have DIY waffles, in three flavors though! Overall decent place to stay. Well worth the rate we paid.

The room was nice. Breakfast was good. We paid to keep the bar open til 2 which is crazy. They should be open til 2 on Saturday. They gave my sons room to someone else they had to get a new room. But all worked out ok

Everything went well at check in. Quick and easy. The rooms was very clean and the AC and internet was excellent. The beds were very comfortable. The pool was excellent and my granddaughter loved the outdoor kiddy pool. The breakfast was excellent every morning. We would definitely stay here again.

Although it was ok, would not stay again.... Lobby had a strange smell when entering. To get to rooms, had to go thru for and then into what seemed like another bldg, very odd configuration. Very overpriced for what you get. There was a security guard in lobby upon checking in... Also, did not even attempt breakfast, felt the overall feel of place in general wasn't cohesive with eating there. Staff nice, but would not stay again...

Room was a good size and clean. The internet worked great and I didn't have any problems with noise of other guests. We were able to adjust the temperature of the room to a comfortable level. This is a pretty big place, and our room was down a very long hallway and was far away from the breakfast and reception area- which was ok by me- but may not be for others.

I was blessed to be able to spend time with my son while staying here. I live in Fredericksburg, VA now and my son lives in Cherry Hill, NJ and we were able to spend some time together by ourselves courtesy of 2 wonderful, beautiful women employed by Best Western Plus. Their names are Ms. Jen, and Ms. Michelle. They both deserve a raise, praise, recognition, and so much more.

Was pleased with everything about this hotel. Mairy and Sean at the front desk were awesome. Rooms were clean, beds were very comfortable. Loved the fact that having a Parx card gives you a room discount No complaints here.

"No clean rooms"

We made a reservation on the hotel website. We arrived late, but the hotel had no clean rooms, and the cleaning staff had gone home. Ours was not the only problem the staff was trying to handle - they were disorganized and unable to address our problem. We ended up leaving in frustration. Best Western should not give this hotel a Plus designation, and should probably terminate the BW affiliation altogether.

Stayed at this hotel for a tournament in the area. Although check-in was a bit time-consuming (through no fault of the hotel, it was the tournament company), the room was very nice and clean; the breakfast was very good and the kids had a great time in the pool. The location was great; there is a Dunkin Donuts right next door and a Wawa across the street. All in all, I would recommend this hotel.

"It was okay"

The hotel was easy to find after leaving the Philly airport. You pass a lot of places to eat along the way. The place, in my opinion, has seen better days, but still looks well maintained. I arrived late in the evening and because of some miscommunication on my part, was there only for one night instead of two. No matter. The hotel clerk said to check if there are any vacancies in the morning before I went on to my assignment. The room (103) was clean and smelled fresh. The sheets smelled fresh as well. The AC unit is what bothered me. It was pretty loud whenever it would turn on to cool the room. I eventually managed to get some sleep. I even beat my wake up call. Breakfast was typical of any BW. What bothered me was the chatter amongst the employees about another employee. It was audible despite them talking behind a closed door. They quieted down when more guests arrived for breakfast. There were some rooms available when I checked with the morning clerk, but opted to check out instead. I thought I was supposed to get points for my stay, but it was not mentioned by the night clerk. I don't think I will be back to this particular BW.

"Nice Hotel to stay if your in Bensalem"

The staff is very professional and courteous. It is a good place because it is right off the 276. This hotel also has a pool, fitness center, bar, and place to a meal. There are other places to get a meal close by and right across the street.

"One Night Stay"

I came into town for a comedy show. I spent one night and was pleasantly surprised. The price was good it was affordable. ( be aware that they do require a deposit I believe it was $25 a night but not to exceed 100 that you do get back of course if you didn't damage anything I suppose).The room was clean, The decor was nice the bathroom was spotless they even decorated the washcloths to resemble a little fan I thought that was cute. They actually put their TV remotes in little pouches and according to the stamp on it you're supposed to be getting a new remote (I really hope that's true but I actually like that). I visit a lot of hotels here in the US and when I'm on vacation out of the US and that's the first that I've seen that. The only noise I heard was a group of people coming in the dead of night lasted a few seconds and finally they found their way to their room. I didn't get any neighbor noise above my head or on either side of my walls so that was a plus. I did not stay to have breakfast as I had to be on the road early before the impending snowstorm that was coming. There are a lot of restaurants in the area and if you want to quick donut and cuppa coffee there's a Dunkin' Donuts literally across the driveway. Next time I'm in Bensalem, I'll definitely be back I was please with my visit.

"Awful stay but clean decent hotel"

No one did anything about the loud obnoxious guest screaming and slamming doors till 4am!! There had to be 2 dozen complaints about. Hot tub jets broken. Fire alarm at 630am for some idiot smoking in there room( which I understand is not the staffs fault) However we were given no guidance or anything for the 30min we stood outside and froze in the rain.

"Worst stay"

Rooms have horrible deodorizer smell. Breakfast is good however eating area has strong deodorizer smell also. Didn't realize they allow animals so that is probably why they use so much deodorizer. Makes your nose and throat burn. Rooms need updated. Hotel is convenient to turnpike.

"EXCELLENT Price Point VALUE"

Forget the normal 5 Star rating system. It is unreliable. Of course a $300 night room is better than a $100 per night room. The rating system should match hotel room based upon the prices of the rooms. Compare a $50 night room to a $50 night room as so forth. The current system compares apples to oranges! OK,, so,, based upon "price point", this hotel is a 5 Star easily.. Large room,, very clean,, wonderfully accommodating Staff,,, a Breakfast well worth enjoying!!!! I have visited Bensalem numerous times over the years and have never stayed twice at the same hotel,, that change now,, from now,, I shall stay here!!

"Sorry but !"

Thought everything was going to work out fine. As I indicated before I am not a picky person. Firstly, the shower was horrible,spraying.leaking all over the place. I mean it is a shower so you want to get wet but......next....the hot tub was so filthy that it made me ill.so that was it.good luck. you know how when something is so bad they cant offer it to you again for free.or even pay you to stay there. well that's where we are .take care.

This hotel is one of the best we found in the Philadelphia/Bensalem area.....clean comfortable, many amentities and the staff is very nice and helpful....and it is pet friendly...and the location is great many stores and places to eat nearby

"Good location, not so good stay"

Liked the Hotel in general, and staff was friendly. Good location. But room phone was broken and they didn't fix it during my 2 night stay. I asked 3 times. Also, shower head leaked & sprayed water all over the bathroom.

"Overall a great stay but there are areas for improvement"

My mother and I took a trip to Pennsylvania to visit with my grandmother and family. We needed a place to stay for two nights on 12/1 and 12/2 so we picked this hotel as the one closest to my grandmother's house was completely booked and this was one of the next best ones that was pet-friendly as we were traveling with my 11 year old dog. On Friday when my mom went in to check us in, there were two people at the receptionist desk who were too busy talking to each other than being concerned about helping my mom so it took a little longer to check-in than it should've. They also did not inform my mom about the $50 deposit for pets as her card was immediately charged the $50 upon check-in and we were trying to figure out why. Well it turns out that Expedia doesn't list the "deposit" on their website, it only listed the additional cost per night for each pet. It would've been helpful for the front desk to have informed us of this. It wasn't even in the informational book in the room. However, upon entering our room it was very nice and clean. I read that other people complained about things such as the heat not working and the water not being hot - BUT we had neither of those problems. The water was SCALDING HOT!! It made for great hot showers and washing the few dishes we had, but be warned that this water is very hot so be very careful. We set the room temperature to 70 the first night and 68 the second night and the heater did a great job at keeping the room warm. Our mini fridge was apparently set to the maximum and so it froze some of our food which ruined (cucumbers turned to mush) so make sure you check the settings on the mini-fridge. Breakfast was great and had more options than I thought. There were scrambled eggs, sausage patties, potatoes, oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit, breakfast bread products, coffee (choose between 3 creamers), waffle makers (choose between three flavors - pumpkin spice was our favorite, but they had blueberry and original), pancake maker, juice, and several other things I'm forgetting. The first morning breakfast was the best, the second morning the breakfast attendant (this would be on Sunday morning, Dec 3) was not very attentive AT ALL. The spatulas for removing the waffles from the waffle makers were missing so we had to ask for them. The cups that you would use to measure out the right amount of batter for the waffles ran out and guests were helping each other out by guessing how much to put in the waffle maker and measuring it all out - all while the attendant was there but ignored them. Some tables were left dirty and so we had to clean one off in order to sit down. The attendant did come over to tell us that we didn't need to clean it off, but all the empty tables were dirty in some way or another (we throw our trash away, don't know why some people don't know how to do this). Anyway, there wasn't a designated area for walking dogs so I would take my dog out back and walk along the 2-3 foot wide stretch along the fence behind all the parked cars. There was trash in this area and I was surprised that this hotel was pet-friendly but didn't have a post with poop bags for those people who do not bring them (I try to keep some with me at all times). We were on the first floor and weren't too far away from the door that went outside which was nice, but then we heard everyone who walked by our room. Christina was friendly when she checked us out and overall our experience was a good one. The internet did work for the most part, although there was a period Saturday night when it was running a little slow - probably because there were more people using it then. The hotel was better than we expected as some reviews made it out to sound bad enough that we were considering not staying here. Just some minor things that can be fixed to make the experience better, but overall we were pleased.

Business travel requires some basics, good WIFI and a comfortable place. The WIFI in my room was not strong enough to conduct work. Also, it might have just been the day I was staying there, but the eggs and home fries were cold.

The lobby is clean and nice, the breakfast is nothing special with the meat looking days old, the hallways look old and are dirty, the rooms are average with very small bathrooms. The outside has trash all around the property

Nice hotel . Great location for leisure activities. It was close to the Parx casino as well as many restaurants in the area. The mall was also close by and it was a hop skip and a jump to downtown Philadelphia.

Stayed here 2 nights and it was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was very quiet on a Thursday and Friday nights. It located not far from entrance of route 276 and close to Parx Casino. Easy to get to Philadelphia about a 20 min drive.

Overall we had a pleasant experience here. The rooms were quite clean, I noticed the cleaning staff spend plenty of time in each room and are thorough (also very nice) but the bathrooms are small and in need of a "refresh". The front desk staff were friendly and efficient, check in and out was completed quickly. The indoor pool and hot tub were nice and well kept. The hotel was very patient considering we were part of a large hockey group with a lot of kids, they have obviously had teams stay with them before! The breakfast was great (and included) and they have a nice outside courtyard with barbeques and lots of seating for enjoying the weather and letting the kids get out some energy in a safe place (the hotel itself is on a very busy corner).

I have had better experiences at other best western. Although the presentation of the lobby area/breakfast was very nice and newly renovated, the rooms were average. The power outlets were all loose making it hard to charge our electronic devices.

Our family recently had a 7-day stay at this hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nightly price was excellent. Rooms were clean. Cleaning staff, grounds staff and breakfast staff were very friendly too. You couldn't ask for a nicer group of people. The room we were given had a slight musty smell, but nothing overtly bad. The decor seemed a little old. The Wifi kept going on and off too. Not a luxurious place to stay, but we would stay there again because of the staff, cleanliness and great price.

The first room given to us had a chemical odor that seemed to b masking what smelled like a mold condition. The second room provided us did not have the odor. It did have a TV that did not work properly and had to be repaired by maintenance. The toilet seat/cover would also not stay up when lifted. The staff was not friendly at check in and gave me no acknowledgement as a rewards member. Seemed like I was doing them a favor by staying there.

Hotel is in a great location. It is pet friendly, which we needed, and had difficulty finding in this area. The value was great because hot breakfast was included, but the service staff for the breakfast were awful. They'd disappear for over 30 minutes, so no assistance could be obtained when items would run out. Food was not prepared on time, and many items did run out without being restocked in a timely manner. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The building exterior could use some sprucing up.

Family and I stayed for wedding. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The room was big, king size bed, with TV, Refrigerator, Microwave, Cable TV and WI Fi, (included) and a pull out sofa, desk and chair, and center table. Daily breakfast was included in the price. There was a hot tub, exercise room and indoor pool and lots of parking. There were fast food restaurants, casino and shopping nearby. Although the location was off the highway, the hotel was quiet and the traffic could not be heard when you enter the hotel.

A nice hotel with a great, pet friendly staff and a super-human Manager. I've stayed at the building before and came nowhere near the high standard set by the current ownership and staff. Rooms are well appointed and clean as are the public spaces. It's not the Ritz, but for the average traveler, it is everything you need and more.

Property a bit dated and off the beated path unless you are going to the casino. Friendly staff. Close to every fast food option under the sun. Nice Diner across the street. Experienced problem with faulty AC unit and staff changed our room with no questions asked.

Super clean, very nice staff, free breakfast was pretty decent, room looked nice, very safe, great place to stay! There were no problems at all and would definitely go again. The beds were very comfortable, shower was nice, good lighting, TV/wifi worked well. We didn't realize there was a hot tub but wish we had realized that because we forgot swimsuits! Overall great experience.

Seeing museums in the area, spent the night here. Choice based on availability of free parking, indoor pool/hot tub, and free breakfast. 3 doors around hotel provided closer access to our room (also handicapped parking by each). Pool and hot tub were large and temperatures were lovely, but very strong chlorine. Breakfast was amazing, with make-your-own waffles and pancakes, bacon and eggs, cereals, yogurt, bread and pastries, etc. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Tom the manager needs a new job. Very rude. Not a people person. Was there for two weeks and needed one more day. Asked for a discount for one more day since I already spent over $1000 dollars. He wouldn't come out of the back room and had the receptionist tell me no! When he finally came out, he wouldn't even look me in the eyes. What a bum. Everyone else was great!

To give you an idea of what they did for you the Sunday of your stay had the lowest rate of $108.00 the rest were between $118 and $128 depending on the day or course this is all before the 11% tax. I do regret that I don't recall the specific meeting as I meet with and speak to many people each day.

We chose to leave FL as Irma was approaching. Since we have family in Phila., we decided to go there. This was our first time staying at the Best Western Plus. During our 6 night stay we had a problem with the housekeeping one day. We spoke to Christina at the front desk and she put us in touch with the manager, Tom. He went above and beyond to remedy our problem and ensured that our room was in perfect condition during the remainder of our stay. We return to Philadelphia quite often to visit family and will definitely book this hotel. It is clean, comfortable, the breakfast was fine and Christina and Tom were so helpful. We appreciate their great customer service.

This is an older hotel, but has been updated. Our room was large and clean. The bathroom is a little small, but manageable. The hotel is a little tricky to get to. GPS doesn't pinpoint it exactly, but it puts you in the neighborhood.

After reading the reviews i was nervous to stay here, im so glad i didnt listen to the reviews, it was beautiful for a great price. We went me my husband my 1 yr old and my mpther in law, the rooms were clean, you could smell the cleanliness once you walked in. The front desk woman was incredibly nice amd down to earth. The pool was crowded but warm and enjoyable, and the jacuzzi was great. Beds are cozy, everything about this hotel was great frpm check in to check out. The walls are not that thin, all doors are locked, everything is safe, no drugs, other reviewers must have gotten bad timing cause we thouroghly enjoyed our stay and the price is Amazing! Room was adequate. But swimming pool area and gym were terrible and not maintained. And the breakfast area would have failed a health inspection. The floors and tables were so sticky and dirty. Food was very slowly replaced if at all. There are other similarly priced hotels in the area that have to be better than this.

Not bad for the price. Although the hotel does have a mildew smell in the smoking room that we stayed in. It was about 15-20 mins drive away from downtown Philadelphia. They had a hot tub and a indoor pool which was nice.

We stayed for two nights for a meeting in the area. Appeared to be a safe areas and close to restaurants, mall, etc. The room was clean and as good as much more expensive ones I have stayed in. Breakfast was ok. The very loud argument between the day front desk person and a customer about smoking should not have been done while guests in the lobby. Loud and long. Outside patio area could benefit from a clean up.

We stayed here this weekend with our hockey team and never again! First of all, the hotel is old and the hallways and exterior are dirty. Our room smelled musty and damp. The lobby smells like cigarette smoke. Team members had various issues with their room, toilets not working, showers not draining etc. Guests became trapped in the elevator and for the rest of the weekend it was out of service. The breakfast was horrible! Very unfriendly staff! Most of all, this hotel is not safe for families! Several exterior doors open without room keys allowing for anyone to roam the hallways. Given the location of this place, you do not want that! I can see why it's one of the least expensive "hotels" in the area. Spend a few extra dollars and get an updated, clean and safe place to stay.

Went to stay here for my boyfriend's birthday, just to get away from everything for a few days. Our stay was wonderful, very relaxing and fun. We enjoyed the pool, free wifi, breakfast, etc. It was also conveniently close to a wawa for lunch/dinner.

We stayed in this on the last July weekend. Room is clean, bathroom good. Pool also looks nice and clean, hot tube also good. I tried to go to the fitness room with my card, but door didn't opened. I came to the front desk asking allow me access to this room. and every time I was promised that now your card will allow access to the fitness room. Finally room was unlocked. Wi-Fi was ok, but computers in the lobby ... The right one didn't work at all. Computer on the left didn't work on Sunday morning. I wasn't able to have driving directions. Looks nobody cares about these PC's. Breakfast was bad.

The hotel rented the outside and pool area for a party. There were half naked girls, very loud music, guys with guns, alcohol and a lot of marijuana/cigarette smoking inside the pool area as well as outside. We were trying to enjoy the pool but had to leave the area because of the inappropriate behavior. Hotel staff and General Manager seemed very unconcerned about our safety.

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone that I care about. The bathroom was so small I could barely turn around. The bed was hard and the room smelled.We had an ice bucket the size of a tissue box and the place just didn't look inviting in the hallways.

Everything was disgusting. Service was bad. The reconstituted eggs were gross. The hot breakfast they promised was not hot. You couldn't see the bottom of the pool and the hot tub was foaming - eeek! I will never stay there again, ever.

As usual the rooms are clean and the showers were ample. There was a problem with the toilet running and later the air conditioner was leaking on the floor. The night clerk wasn't too much help but a young lady at the desk the following day got everything straightened out much to my satisfaction. I am planning to stay there again without hesitation.

We stayed here for a family funeral. Staff were amazing, especially Chris. So helpful with anything we needed. Friendly cleaning staff. Only downfall was our leaky air conditioner. I told the desk twice but it really didnt effect our stay. Would stay here again.

I like that they had an indoor pool, although small. An indoor Jacuzzi. They had an outside kiddie pool. Everything was exactly what I expected. The only complaint we have is the fact, my husband asked for them to open the laundry room door and although front desk did call for someone to do so, they never came. He had to hunt down a housekeeping to get it unlock. My other complaint is using their computers. I needed to print out ticket's to an amusement park. There one desk top, Lenova, kept blacking out. It was extremely aggravating when it did it every 30 sec. I finally jumped onto the 2nd one and it wouldn't open the pdf file. I ended up having to go to staples to print out. Ridiculous!

arrived before July 4 weekend. First room had leaky toilet. second room had broken closet door. the Wifi was exceptionally slow. And both PCs in the biz center were DOA. Staff tried to help with the PCs but were unable to resolve issues.

7/7/17-7/9/17 Christina and Wade are two of most professional and personable front desk staff I have encountered in a very long time. The welcome was unbelievable it came with a SMILE. Christina, I spoke to her on 7/8/17 and she did not hesitate to remember our conversation (2 THUMBS-UP). I had a few issues that was of no fault of theirs and either of them did not hesitate to assist me. I must say, I do fair amount of traveling and have stayed in 3 different hotels this year, this makes my 4th and Christina and Wade made it absolutely a Joy to stay at Best Western. They even provided me with things to do in the area. I must also say thank you to Erika during check out she was very helpful. Again, I can't say it enough what a Front Desk Experience.

No working elevator, rude unfriendly staff. No staff at front desk out smoking most of the night and talking on her phone. Very nasty when she came back in. No breakfast. Room had a funny odor. Could not find hairdryer and had to call and see where it was and of course no one was at the front desk. We went down and she was just coming in from smoking. She said call the next time instead of coming down. I did not say but I did call and you were outside smoking with a sign up you were helping another customer. What a lie!!!!

"Room nice; customer service, awful."

We stayed here as part of a wedding group...all arrangements were pre-arranged. The rooms were very nice -- clean, cool, etc. But customer service from check-in to lounge bartenders was a disgrace. The Bride and Groom had paid in advance to keep the lounge open for an after party for the wedding guests. Well, apparently the other wedding party that was staying at hotel also paid to keep it open. The hotel decided to bump us to a conference room...we declined and both parties ended up in the lounge, which we had no problem with (but apparently the bartender did). She was an older woman who was very disrespectful to us and caused much angst. Her reasoning was she wanted to work with the larger party to make more money...yes she actually said that. The manager and woman at front desk were also very rude and very unaccommodating. I know the Mother of the bride had an issue with having a pre-arranged suite re-booked to another party and it caused a scene at the front desk. I would not recommend this hotel nor would I ever stay there again.

I'd rate this 3.5 stars. We stayed here for a quick trip to Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia and Sesame Place. It's a convenient location with a lot of restaurant and good fast food options within 5-10 mins driving. The room was fine, clean and had decent bedding, towels etc but perhaps a bit tired. It was quiet and we got a good night's sleep. The bath tub had seen better days but it functioned fine. The pool was okay, it is salt water and a bit murky, didn't really feel super clean but we showered afterwards. There is a nice courtyard with tables and chairs and grass outside so we were able to pick up some food and eat out there while out toddler ran around, which was a nice perk for us. We enjoyed the outdoor space a lot and that definitely made me lean towards 4 vs 3 stars. Another nice perk is the refrigerator and microwave in the room. Breakfast was okay, nothing special but free. Coffee was very good. The waffles and yogurt are the best part. The fruit salad needs to go, it was so old it tasted fermented. Bananas instead would be better. Also, the ice machine is broken, which was annoying. No major complaints overall.

"Disappointing at best"

Hard to get to, was double billed and asked for manager - was told i would be contacted by phone and never was. Asked again and manager was unavailable. Tub was backed up and an electrical outlet was wallpapered over in the bathroom. The pool was dirty (hair and bandaids in it) and no towels available. The breakfast area had too little food for the number of guests and was poor quality. The onsite restaurant was closed. There were many other hotels in this area, I suggest you pick one of those.

AS I said no problems with my stay.. Management and staff were exceptional!!!!! If I could I would like to make suggestions for the breakfast...Have more variety of breakfast meats.. For example-Scrapple-Pork Roll-Bacon,,, Allthough the breakfast was good..IT would be even better if you made those above changes....Maybe even more later check-out times for people who check in late due to work and have to stay there and even for the out of town people visiting..

Right now we have 1 egg, 1 meat and a potato item each day. Not always the same item but hot table only allows for 3 items. Room clean, comfortable bed, everything in good working order. Hotel and room decor very nice. The hotel has many amenities - pool, hot tub, snack machines, ice machines. Nice decor. Great value for the price. The only negatives and these were very minor - tub was delaminating in spots, the bed sheet seemed worn, door to reach elevator did not open automatically. Had to open the door manually while steering the luggage cart through.

Enjoyed our stay and the staff was helpful to us finding the train into Philadelphia. Room and bed were great. Breakfast was good but bacon was turkey not pork. Pool was good, used it every day, too many suds in hot tub though.

The bed was a bit hard. The rooms decor was nice but the ice machine was empty/broken and the restroom in the lobby was trashed. There was toilet paper everywhere on the floors. The toilets were not flushed and the dispensers were empty so I turned around and walked out.

"Solid Three Star Hotel Near Sesame Place"

The hotel was clean and all the finishings were nice for a three star hotel. I would stay here again. The hotel is fairly close to Sesame Place. I do not recommend eating at the restaurant for any meal other than the free breakfast. We had wings there and they were nothing special. The macaroni and cheese nuggets were gross. The breakfast is the quality you expect from a Best Western - waffle machines, nothing else great, weird (not natural) eggs and bacon, and cereal.

Easy Turnpike access, restaurant on site, super close to local area attractions this is a nice BW to stay at. The staff is knowledgeable and quite awesome. Its a nice layout, has a pool, workout room, washer and dryer, and an elevator for anyone with step issues. Super nice place to stay.

We stayed here for a wedding and the staff was great. Overall it was a good experience. The rooms need to be updated but they were clean and comfortable. I had some issues using gift cards at this location but it was fixed by the staff. It was a bit noisy at night because of teenagers, who were there for a tournament, running the halls but you can't control that. My family tried to use the gym but most of the equipment didn't work, but the pool and Jacuzzi were very nice. The local area had good food and there was adequate shopping in the area. I would stay here again if I needed a hotel in the area.

I was shocked when i arrived at the hotel. For it to be a 3 star hotel, it was cute and comfortable. Plus the location was great, wawa was across the street. They also have a restaurant inside the hotel with really good wings. If looking for something last minute, I'd definitely recommend staying here

Upon entering the room I was hit in the face with the smell of powerful cheap perfume. After some investigation I going an entire package of "air freshener" strips on the AC intake. I removed them and threw trhem out but could not use the AC because of the residual stink.

I've stayed at this property a few times in the past and was always satisfied. This time not so much. The room is OK, it was clean. good furnishings, etc. The breakfast at any hotel is "acceptable" but this was the worst. The food was not hot and they served some sort of artificial bacon. The attendants were too busy talking to each other than taking care of the food. At checkout, all I got was a shrug of the shoulders.

I notice you mention the bacon, it sounds like you came on a day when we served turkey bacon. As you have probably noticed outside of the fresh made waffles and instant oatmeal (that are always available) our hot food selection is limited to 3 items (due to space limitations). these items rotate each day but always include an egg dish, a meat dish and a potato dish. While turkey bacon may not be for you it is the only non-pork item in the rotation.

Great customer service, I was upgraded to a suite. All employees were friendly and accommodating. All our request taken care with great care. I would surely come and enjoy the hot tub and pool. This was our first best western experience and it came out wonderful. We would recommend this hotel and would rate my experience to be wonderful.

The staff is great. The rooms are nice and you can get a good nights sleep. Lots of parking and places to eat a mile or less from hotel. There is a casino not to far away if you like the casino. Oh and a horse race track. Over all it is a great place to stay for your money. Happy traveling.

The rooms definitely need a renovation The bathroom door was breaking down, the bathroom tub was cracked!!!! The air in the room felt suffocating, the carpet was dusty My kids kept sneezing throughout our stay, as soon as we checked out of the hotel they stopped sneezing

Very nice clean hotel, friendly staff, pleasant stay. Pool is overloaded with chlorine, very hard to breath. Breakfast is ok for kids, but could be better options. We stayed here to go see Philly only 30 mins drive into city

When I got to the hotel the guy in the front desk was really nice he gave me my key when I got to the room the room with the Jacuzzi wasn't what I was expecting it was different to the one on the website the next morning I had to move to a different room because the room was reserved for the following day so I call the front desk to find out the room I was going to motel and what time breakfast was over and he was very rude and of noxious not professionally experienced .

They both are 1 king bed with the Jacuzzi in the bedroom and a separate room with 2 chairs. We do only have 2 of the room type and on weekends they are often both booked preventing us from allowing people to stay over for additional days. We checked in mid-afternoon on a Friday and were delighted when the friendly desk staff upgraded us to an Executive room on the forested rear side of the property. The room had one of the most comfortable beds we have ever tried, with big fluffy pillows (good for me, too large for the Mrs., but she liked everything else). The Executive room has a projecting bar/sink/mini-fridge as you enter the room, which divides the room nicely. The wood-like floors are attractive and the closet is of the walk-in variety. The only negative in the room was the bathroom, which didn't have venting or a fan, so the mirror stayed steamy for a while. Also, we had an issue with the main door, which took an extra tug to close. There was plenty to eat at the breakfast buffet. Parking was plentiful. There were a good number of youth sports teams staying in the motel while we were there, and this never caused a noise or congestion problem. All told, I would return without hesitation. Oh, did I mention that the price was right, too?

Really loved this place. We were here for a family visit and picked it because it was near family and reasonably priced in comparison to other places. We stay at best westerns because we pretty much know what to expect both with the standard and plus. Basically the plus adds better gym equipment and a jacuzzi in the pool area. This place is huge. Don't know how many rooms but many. They had direct tv which allowed us to view the guide and set closed caption. The breakfast featured a waffle iron and a pancake iron with 3 different flavor selections. Lol. The staff was accommodating as well. The only gripe came from my husband who complained that the elliptical glider in the gym was old and didn't work too well. So I had to take off one star. ??

Stayed two nights and found it to be a clean, comfortable hotel. The room was beginning to show it's age. The staff were pleasant enough, though not outstanding. Located just off the Pennsylvania Turnpike makes for easy on-off. Didn't get a chance to try the restaurant for dinner, but the breakfast was okay.

I just stayed at the Best Western Plus--Bensalem for the first time as a change from the hotel I had been staying at in the same area. It turned out to be an excellent choice. When I arrived at the front desk to check-in, Chris greeted me and immediately made me feel welcome. He was so friendly and pleasant to talk to. I hope he is working again on my upcoming stays. The hotel is a bit older, but it has been updated. The beds in my room were very comfortable. I actually fell asleep with my contacts in while I waited for my laptop to finish a scan. Some hotels have such hard beds, but not this Best Western. As I checked-out, I booked my next three stays at the Best Western--Bensalem. I hope to get up early enough next time to try the breakfast.

The hotel was actually clean and decent for it to be a 3 star hotel. Wawa is across the street, location is minutes away from Philadelphia, and they have a bar/restaurant inside the hotel as well with good wings!

Don't judge a book by its cover! I was pleasantly surprised! Quiet and lovely! Beautiful, classic lobby area. Looks recently renovated! Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Hotel rivaled any upscale hotel I have stayed in and surpassed many!! The hot breakfast was outstanding! Just as good as any breakfast place!! And FREE!!?? Even though the whole facility was top notch, I would stay again just for breakfast! Look forward to going back and trying the BBQ and Beer bar at night! It looked great fun and the menu items look delicious! If u have to stay in Bensalem STAY HERE!! ????

Location is great on Street Road, easy access to the interstates. It's an older property, but has been well-maintained. The staff is excellent. I arrived on a day when the transit strike hit, and the available cabs abd Uber rides were tied up. The front desk staff re-called until the cag was secured for me to get to the car rental office. Ben's BBQ serves great food onsite. Morning breakfast was good, standard hot fare, good variety. Warm cookies in the evening! Clean room and bedding. Great desk and lighting for serious workspace. Recommend.

"Not a bad hotel; employees seem to be bothered"

I was at this hotel over the weekend with my son and girlfriend. My son was at the hotel for a gaming convention. When we first arrived (and it was late) the rep ask what we were in town for and I told him that my son was there for the gaming event. He kind gave a look like oh brother. He should have been welcoming him as he was the reason we were there. We were given our key for our room as was my girlfriend. My son and I went upstairs and the key did not work. My son swear he heard someone in the room. Back downstairs we went---rep said oh let me re-key it---went back upstairs again, and this time my son knocked on the door. And guess what--someone was in there. We went back downstairs--and the response oh, I don't know why I wrote that room down it's wrong!!!! Not a first good impression. Next day breakfast was very good--my girlfriend informed the desk that the TV in her room wasn't working; ok they will have someone look at it. Kids for the gaming event were lining up and woman was mopping up by the front door. One kid almost went flying on his head and she gave him a dirty look. When my girlfriend and I left a short time later, she was annoyed that we were going by where she was mopping. We came back later in the afternoon around 2 p.m. and my girlfriend's TV still wasn't working. She had to inform the desk again, and this time someone was sent up. Hotel all in all wasn't bad--very near to everything; I just think the employees could be nicer.

This was the least high quality Best Western facility that I've stayed in, although it met all the basic requirements for location, availability, overall cleanliness, etc. The Breakfast buffet was definitely substandard compared to all of the others I've been in. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, but the décor was average or below. I thought the price was a bit high compared to some of the others, but I don't know anything about the going rates for this area. I've previously been in Best Western hotels in Colorado, Florida, New York and Massachusetts, so I've been around enough for a good comparison.

Have been coming to this hotel for years. It has improved a great deal since it was known as a Holiday Inn. After all the years of hearing an elevator would be there - it finally was installed for our visit last year. We were there for a Specialty Dog Show and this hotel served as our Headquarters. Banquet facilities were great, lots of parking, grassy area for exercising dogs. Clean accomodations. Internet seemed to be overloaded at times.

Had a room on the first floor. Allegedly a non smoking floor. Came through the hallway and it wreaked of smoke. Two rooms had their doors propped open with cigarette smoke pouring out. After dinner we were showering to go out and we discovered the maid had forgotten to give us shampoo. Quick dash to the front desk for some shampoo. THERE IS NO SHAMPOO IN THE ENTIRE HOTEL. THEY TOLD ME THEY DID NOT GET THE SHIPMENT. This is COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND!! Are you serious? Avoid this hotel. The only positive is that the bed was very comfortable. Once again....smoking is largely ignored by management. Not impressed, very disappointing.

honestly your average run of the mill chain hotel .. has all the standard amenities etc and friend staff .. the only outstanding exception was the restaurant inside: ben's bbq .. it was AWESOME! .. good food, excellent craft beers on tap, friendly .. go see debbie she'll take care of you!!

Stayed at this hotel for a wedding in the area, and this was the recommended hotel. I read the reviews for this hotel and another hotel that was also suggested. This was the better of the two by the reviews. The hotel lobby area is very nice and also the gal at the front desk was very nice. The room rate was incorrect, and she adjusted the rate without a problem. Once you walk past the door in the lobby, things change. The hallways smelled of smoke, and they were dark. On the second floor, there was a huge laundry type basked in the hallway with nothing in it. Upon arrival into our room it smelled. The view out our window was of the courtyard, that was not very appealing. Chairs tipped over, the lawn was not manicured in any way and it looked horrible. The room just felt dirty, and the lighting in the room is very low, which makes me think what are they hiding. The bathroom is in need of an upgrade. I actually put a towel on the vanity before I put anything on it. Plus, the vanity is so low. I just kept telling myself it's only an overnight stay. I will mention that the bed and pillows were very comfortable - only plus!! The next morning it was a toss up, do I just go home as is or take a shower? That should give you an indication to the room. Also we put things in the refrigerator only to find out that it didn't work. While checking out we mentioned it was broken and we were given a 10% discount. After reading reviews I believe this is a hotel where families may stay due to sesame street. If I had a child, I would have asked for my money back. Also, we choose not to eat at the free breakfast in the morning and went across to the diner which was really good!

The staff and experience at this location succeeded our expectations. After being turned away from Four Points with a 3 week advance reservation, we were lucky to have been placed here for the night instead. The hotel, while several miles further than the original hotel, will be our preferred choice for future trips.

"A good hotel for the cost"

The hotel was perfect for the cost that I paid. The internet was a bit choppy but that was the only downside to my stay. The hotel wasn't anything special as far as amenities go, but the kind and helpful staff is what put this place above and beyond my expectations.

Had a great stay. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Nick, christina, Bianca and Tasha are helping, caring and accommodating. This a place which I can recommend to friends and family. Clean and smells fresh in the rooms and exterior as well. The beds were comfortable.

Overall the hotel was good. They matched a competitors price for the 6 night stay. The room was remodeled and met all our needs. It was clean and everything worked. The restaurant actually was very good! The BBQ ribs and pulled pork was one of the very best. Location was also good. We were close to a mall, dining, and access to downtown.

I have stayed for a one night visiting sesame place. The hotel is in very good condition with clean and wide room equipped with a microwave and refrigerator. The breakfast was an average. Had a free WiFi with good signal. Very friendly staff. Would recommend it if you look for a budget clean hotel the meet your needs.

"I've Had Better"

Was expecting more for almost $100 a night. While the bed was comfortable, but the overall appearance of the room (especially the bathroom) was a bit below expectation. There was an odor in the hallway the entire weekend and the bathroom could stand for an upgrade. There were stains on the walls and corners of the tub that made me want to wear socks while showering.

Everything was clean and neat. Was the best place we stayed in at this location. WILL stay again. Room was always cleaned everyday and spotless. Was not a noisy place. Love the card access to the building. Makes the other half feel safe.

"Okay but things did not quite meet my needs"

Room was clean except for a week old half slice of stale pizza we found behind a chair. The pool was open Monday night but a note saying it was closing 10 AM Tuesday was posted at 9 AM the next morning. With an hours notice they decided to do maintainence on the indoor pool and closed down abruptly 10 AM Tuesday the 16 and reopened I am told around 3 PM Wednesday. Did not even indicate online that they planned this maintainence. WOuld have booked elsewhere had I known.

The only reason for 2 stars are because of the two female workers working the front desk. The room was surprisingly good. The bathroom was gross and we were happy we didn't need to shower, during our one night stay. The biggest problem is the back door entry. It is very sketchy looking to begin with. For entry B there was a rock keeping the door open. We didn't think anything of it until we saw a woman whose arms were covered in track marks whi was smoking a cigarette propping the door. It was unnerving. When I spoke to the front desk, the woman working said that management was aware of the broken door, but they sort of brushed it off. A broken door is a serious issue. The hotel needs to decide if this a family friendly hotel for families going to Sesame or a hotel for people looking for a quick rest during their casino stay. It is hard to be both. If they want to be family friendly, management needs to get that door fixed. If it were just me traveling alone, the hotel would have been suffice. However, my wife did not feel safe being at this hotel. Would not return.

"Waxing Isn't Cleaning"

We stayed here 3 nights - attending a funeral. And the hotel was almost the saddest thing about our trip. On the good side - the room was nice with a fridge and comfortable bed and bedding. That's why it gets two stars instead of one. No so good - everything was covered in wax. Their motto must be - 'If it's waxed, it's clean.' Everything in this hotel was either slippery or sticky - the floors, the desk, the bureau, the tables in the eating area, the pen, and even the bible in the nightstand! And I wouldn't swear to it, but I think the eggs were waxed as part of the marginal, free (worth every penny) breakfast. (The coffee was undrinkable - and I am not a coffee snob.) There were unpleasant smells in some of the public areas, especially by the elevator. One other thing was that there was electrical machinery going virtually the whole time. It sounded and felt like someone was constantly running a huge vacuum cleaner next do. Or imagine someone revving a motorcycle under your window all night. I believe my health was affected. So after each long day, I did not look forward to being in this hotel. We won't be staying here again.

Long story short..pubic hair in the "clean" sheets, offered sheets to change the bed or new room. We picked new room, that bad too, the smoke detector had a shower cap over it (previous folks smoked) and had a red substance (blood?) smeared on a wall. Housekeeping was glaringly HORRIBLE.

Upon arrival clerk photocopied my drivers license. I told him he could not do that and he told me he would not check me in unless he did. The Holiday Inn 3 doors down used to do the same until PA Attorney General told them they could not do that. Clerk said it is a Bensalem law. It is not a law, the law saids the hotel must keep records and know who stays in property. Law saids does not allow them to photocopy drivers licenses that contain personal information. Be aware if you have stayed here the information is not secured and any employee can use the photocopied id's. The wifi at the property is garbage. My computer and table would not stay connected it kept disconnecting me. My guess is they have the bottom of the line as cheap as you can by wifi. I had to use my own Verizion Jet Pack. On Thursday AM at 730 am I walked over to Dunkin donuts next door and the hallway was filthy with litter. Most likely from all the children running around screaming in the hallways starting at 645 am. The room smells bad from all the moisture from the humidity. The property has the old window ac's and not central air. My room smells musty and like bad feet from the moisture. I left my gym shorts on the carpeted part of the room and they were wet the next morning from the moisture still in the rug. The only good thing is the furniture is all new. Other than the tv being the size of postage stamp and the 3 pounds of furniture polish on the table in front of couch that is the best feature of the property. This is a new flag for the owner Bhoola Enterprises LLC they lost the Holiday Inn one.

The room was beautiful, clean and spotless. The mattress were high, like being on a throne (LOL). The room was big enough to move around in even with a motorized scooter and a wheel chair. You will love the comforts of the rooms. The only thing that I did not like was the toilet was for a child. It was to low to the floor. The should have an adaptable to seat for grown people. This hotel was excellent for such an event! The staff was great! The service was great and the FOOD I will give them 5 Stars!! Thank you so much. The ASHBY'S FAMILY REUNION WAS GREAT!

I stay here three to four times a week for work. Rooms are always very clean and well stocked. Has free breakfast in the mornings, indoor and outdoor pool. The rooms are very quiet and sleeping during the day is never a problem.

The stay was comfortable and good overall. No issues, the breakfast was decent. Rooms were clean. It us located in very accessible are with lot of restaurants around. The layout of the motel is not the best, it is okay for me but my colleague has leg injury and it was not easy for him to do long walks. Overall good and comfortable.

Don't do it! You might be tempted to book here, but just don't. Place was filthy, feared for my health in the pool area, water cloudy, full of debris (INDOORS), pool tile area polluted with smashed cheese crackers, etc. And in our room, hubby walked barefooted on carpet and black soot came off when he showered. Plus, they are woefully understaffed. Prepare to wait amid a confused mass of individuals at check-in. And please, don't have a special request!! In our room, there were two little bottles of conditioner, no shampoo. And only "decaf" coffee pods. So I asked for some shampoo and regular coffee. NEVER GOT IT.. And the whole place was damp. No, more like wet. Dripping ceilings with waste buckets under them. Musty smell everywhere. UGH. The BBQ restaurant on premise was actually decent, with tasty food at reasonable prices, and a GREAT selection of beer. BUT THE BREAKFAST WAS AWFUL!! Sausages at 0700 that were so hard and overcooked, they must have been left-over. Maybe a couple times. Might have given this place a "1" instead of a "2", but I reserve the "1" rating for places that have bugs. At least I didn't see any here. Good location, but there are definitely other, better, places to stay nearby.

Booked because it was the most reasonably priced place in the Sesame Pl area that allowed kids. Clean, helpful staff, reasonably close to Sesame Pl. quick drive to philly in case you were into that. Breakfast buffet was a little bit of a nightmare Go before 8am if you do go, otherwise just hit a diner or your whole morning will be shot. Wifi was decent. decor was nice. parking was plentiful. used the pool. they have a kiddie pool section in the bigger pool and a hot tub. both clean.

"Front desk Jerk"

Outside looks like dump. Lobby not impressive. Rooms pretty nice. Side door stayed unlocked all night. Had clogged toilet. Called front desk 1st time, male with poor English said "Someone will be up right away." Called 2nd time, 30 minutes later, and got a different poor English speaking male. As I told him this was my 2nd call he interrupted and said he didn't need that, what was wrong? once I told him he hung up on me. I went downstairs to inquire and finally ended up with maintenance about an hour after 1st call.

"DO NOT STAY HERE"

FIRST AND FOREMOST....THE BBQ RESTAURANT AT THIS HOTEL IS FANTASTIC!!!! BEST WE EVER HAD...... NOW READ THE REST !!!! My wife and I stayed in this hotel to take our young children to Sesame Place. Check in was smooth and our room was "ready" when we arrived at 6:00 pm. We had a few items to put in the refrigerator and when I opened it I found left over fried chicken, the stench immediately permeated the room. After we put the kids to bed, my wife noticed a hair pin that did not belong to her in the sheets. She confronted the front desk to assure our room would be completely flipped the next day while we were at the amusement park. Later, the same night, I moved the ottoman to find moldy packages of chicken nuggets and french fries! I brought these down to the front desk clerk who apologized and told us he would compensate a meal from the BBQ restaurant the next night. One of our children awoke at 4:30 a.m (unsure of where she was) so we turned the TV on to get snow and then a message of "NO SIGNAL", the WiFi was not connecting to our iPad. We tried to phone the front desk to find out our phones did not work ! By this point, both kids were awake. We took them down to the complimentary breakfast to find apples with holes in them, brown bananas, and yogurts were out of date! Luckily, Dunkin' Donuts is next door! When we returned from the park that night, I approached the clerk about the compensation and he replied to order food from the restaurant, bill it to the room and he would credit the account. I put my order in and relayed the message to the waitress who stated the restaurant is a separate entity and they do not charge tot he room. I put the order on my credit card (we were not planning on spending $60 on dinner that night). I then went back to the clerk who was unaware of the inability to accommodate the compensation. The BBQ restaurant swiftly refunded my card the next day. Same night, around 10:30 pm we were disturbed by noise in the hallway. As we walked out to see the commotion, we found a rambunctious wedding party of about 50+ people in and out of hotel rooms and the bar was reopened for them. They were VERY LOUD. Sunday morning I started packing up the car, as I went outside, people were sleeping in there car, vomiting on sidewalks and cigarette butts were everywhere. We thought we would take the kids to the pool before we hit the road back home. (Pool is supposed to open at 9 am) At 9:15 the pool room was still locked, my wife used the house phone to call the front desk the clerk stated "The pool does not open until 9:00 am, the people just got here to open it, give them a few minutes." Shortly after that call, the front desk clerk came to open the pool. We walked in to a disaster. Towels were sprawled on the floor and chairs, there were no clean towels and the pool was FILTHY. We refused to let our kids swim in it. This was a major disappointment because the hotel pool is always exciting to them. The overall experience was irreconcilable. It was disorganized, unclean and inappropriate for families. I would not stay in another BW hotel by myself, let alone with my family. It was a vast upset and I hope to prevent as many families as possible from enduring the same.

We stayed here for a family trip to Philly. We needed something that was in our budget and offered breakfast. Even though we drove for 25 minutes to Philly we enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean and the people friendly. We had a nice breakfast with many options to choose from. Fruit, yogurt, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, eggs, bacon, hash browns. The room was clean and had AC. There was a desk in the room as well as fridge and microwave. We stayed as a family of 4 and will return if we are in the area. Oh and their lobby has a small sundry station with some snacks and toiletries. I would recommend this place to all.

"Bed was comfortable"

The bed was comfortable but that is where the good stops. Breakfast food was awful, trash was overflowing, hot items were empty and there was no fruit. TV remote did not work but they sent someone to fix. Had to use cell phone to call hotel from my room because phone did not work and they could not fix. Pool is small and a long walk from most rooms. I will not stay here again.

"Best Western made my weekend"

We were in town for my son's wedding and the hotel we booked had overbooked and could not accommodate us. We called around to local hotels that were pet friendly and This Best Western Plus in Bensalem saved and made our weekend great. I would definitely recommend this Best Western Plus.

"Very Disappointed"

This property was a disappointment from the moment we arrived. Unfortunately Best Western decided NOT to install a sign to their building, only a giant BBQ dinner banner, so it took us a few minutes to realize we were at the correct spot. The front desk staff were friendly as we checked and ready with our paperwork. Once we settled into this very old and poorly maintained hotel we found that Wifi was utterly Non-existent. The first morning's breakfast seemed all that we expected. It was the 2nd morning that disappointment stuck again. As we walked the hall to the breakfast room I noticed that all the housekeeping staff was readying their carts. Half of this staff were in uniform the others were in plain clothes, entering guestrooms to clean. It honestly worried me a bit...were they actually paid employees entering rooms or strangers? No way to tell. Once we reached the breakfast room the guest line to the buffet was full (understandable on a busy morning). But for me, the problem was with the 2 female Best Western employees cutting in line to serve themselves while all the guests were made to wait as food items needed refilling. These 2 young ladies proceeded to take their food and eat at one of the few seats available. I'm not sure if this is an employee perk or 2 girls breaking the rules. Either way, very unprofessional. I would choose a different property in the future....

The Best Western Plus in Philly-Bensalem was a great stay. We stayed for one night and the staff were phenomenal. They provided great service and helped us every step of the way. It was easy to get to and right off of I-95. Hot breakfast, free internet, and premium channels on top of a great staff make us want to return again for another trip.

"Very nice stay"

Stayed one night before running in race at Pennypack park. Clean room, comfortable beds, relatively quiet, staff slightly aloof but efficient. Elevator to 2nd floor, nice pool, next door to Dunkin Donuts. Best feature is the bar/dining room. Great selection of craft beers at $4 a glass (pint or snifter). Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel should not be a three star hotel. management not very helpful. I stay in Philadelphia every week and this hotel is worst of any I ever get on Priceline or Hotwire. I wish you could reject hotels when you bid and exclude hotels unworthy of 3 stars.

"Not so great"

The carpet was wet upon entering room. Later it did seem to dry, but when I walked barefoot on the rug, my feet would be covered in dirt. It was pretty gross. I don't mind my socks getting dirty from a hotel rug, but my barefeet...Gross The tv didn't work AT ALL - reported to front desk and they said there was no one there to address until the next day. Same thing about the internet. I continuously got kicked off the internet for HOURS. No one was there to fix it. The next day I was checking out, so how was any of that helping me. I paid $115 a night to stay there. Totally not worth it. Reconsider another place.

Staff rather rude, for the exception of Jul at the Front Desk. Shower is awful, no water pressure, and you have to toy around with the faucet to get the desired water temp. The attached BBQ Restaurant is OK in a pinch, but there are other food options nearby. Yesterday at 6:35 AM there were no eggs on the breakfast buffet that opens at 6:30 AM. Today at 6:26 AM there was no coffee available. There is a Dunkin Donuts in the parking lot.

I stayed with my friend and had a great time. Loved their indoor pool and the spa was so big and worked very well. Breakfast was awesome. What a big change in 2 years. Dunkin Donut was big help for midnight snack. One of the housekeeper didn't speak English, but went and got her supervisor and I thimk that was nice of her. I would recommend this hotel and definitely will stay here again.

"No towels in my room"

We stayed here for one night after our visit to Sesame Place and called ahead to inform that front desk that we would be arriving late. We walked in to a cold room (thermostat was set to 62F) and no towels or toiletries in the bathroom. Kids were tired and in need of shower so we called the front desk for room service. However, at 10 pm they were down to one person who could not leave the front desk at that time. My husband hiked all the way to housekeeping to get our supplies filled. Never staying here again. Breakfast was average and just like any other motels offering free breakfast. We did not use any other amenities but loved the fact that they had a Dunkin Donut closeby. Close to highway, Parx Casino and Sesame Street.

"Get your rooms rates in writing."

Called and was given one rate. When we drove all the way there they increased the rates by 10 USD. I said this was not fair. The front desk person said he would see what he could do and proceeded to take down all my information. AND THEN he charged me the increased rate without any effort to help me out. Well, that was enough for us. I have now decided because of this place that BW has now lost a customer permanently. Very bad sales technique. Lure you to their place and then increase the rates knowing you are already tired from a long day.

It's a decent hotel in the Bensalem/Parx area. Breakfast is average like most free breakfasts in Pa. Becareful of any stay 2 night and get $25 Or free miles/points deals, because they use a little scam; if you dont go online and sign Into your Best Western acct using your password and acct info and find the tab to click to accept this bonus deal than you out of luck. Scamish but at the corporate level. As far as the rooms they are ok as well as the staff.

"Hit & Miss"

The staff are wonderful people. Front desk are great, professional and friendly. Bar staff are wonderful as well. The overall issues: spotty wifi, door keys that go blank and you need to trek all the way back down to the main desk to get them re-keyed, and smoking rooms that waft into non smoking. The food in the BBQ lounge can be good and overall not bad. It'll do, but high praise to the staff.

"Good for an overnight, but could be hit or miss"

Overall the hotel was clean and comfortable for an overnight stay. I hesitantly recommend because It could be a hit or miss. There were very noisy areas of the hotel that I passed while walking the hallway ((music blasting out of rooms). I got a great deal on a room so it was worth it the rooms by mine were quiet. Breakfast was ok, not great.

"Good place to stay"

Everything was very satisfactory at this hotel. Unfortunately, we only stayed one night but I would have loved to try spa services and hot tub. Would definitely consider staying again. Free breakfast was offered and selection was very good. In fact we were not able to consume all items due to being full already. Vern at breakfast area is commendable and has a great personality. Manager seemed very caring and attentive also asking if there was any issue that needed to be handled. Impressive.

I was absolutely surprised by how much I enjoyed staying here. The rooms were big and had a fridge and microwave in them. I noticed that I was only 50 feet from a 24 hour Dunkin Donuts, which was awesome! In the morning, they had a free hot breakfast with potatoes, bacon, and make your own waffles. This was the BEST bacon I have ever had at a hotel. I'm not kidding! The bacon was chewy, smoky, and delicious! I absolutely hope to stay here again!

Had a awesome stay lounge was great and hot Breakfast was good clean rooms. Stayed 4 nights and will definitely be back to stay here when we come back to visit family. Breakfast was great. The staff was very friendly. Clientele was a little iffy. Location was a little farther than i thought from Philly, but there is a lot of traffic going on in the city. Pool was good but had a very heavy chemical smell. It is located near a lot of good chain restaurants. The room was clean but the bathroom was small.

"Not the best western we have ever stayed on."

First off outside pictures do not match. Indoor Pool was cool not heated. Had to wait 15 min to have handicapped chair at pool available to use. But what really upset us was I called when I booked our room back in Jan and asked for a handicapped room with walk in shower for a teen in a wheel chair. Got only handicapped room with tub so she could not get a shower the whole time here and I get sorry. Housekeeping was great. Breakfast was good but make sure you are done by 10 am because they close the door right at 10am regardless.

We stayed at this Best Western for a few days over the holidays, with our two large dogs, who they allowed for an additional fee. The rooms are clean and big, with ample space for us, two dog crates and all of our luggage. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was decent, but the indoor heated pool and hot tub was the highlight of our trip! It made us feel like we were in a resort, rather than a budget hotel. On our last night, the hotel must have been full, because there were lots of kids playing in the hall that we could hear from our room. Not a major issue, but it did make it difficult to walk the dogs and resulted in them barking, which Im sure was an additional disturbance for someone else. Still, a great pet friendly option that I would reccomend. A good value for the money.

This hotel was very nice. I usually stay elsewhere on my trips to Philly but this was my first time at the Best Western. Close to the casino, clean, and the staff is excellent. I visited in January due to a death in the family. I am very picky about where I lay my head. When I walked into the room there was nothing out of place and the beds were very comfortable. The room and bathroom was clean and they do offer free breakfast in the morning. Would like to say thank you to Tina for making our stay enjoyable.

We visited the hotel to have my daughter spa party and sleep over. The hotel was very nice, clean, the rooms were very nice. The kids loved the indoor pool and hot tub. The staff was very nice and friendly. The breakfast was very nice, stocked and organized. What a pleasurable stay! Visiting Bensalem, primarily to enjoy the nearby Parx Casino (0.6 mile) with family, we stayed at the Best Western Plus. Days before, I called the Hotel and made special arrangements for a handicapped bathroom. We arrived late and were greeted by a friendly, professional staff. The bed was as comfortable as any I've experienced. Vern provided weekend Breakfast with a smile, Tina at the Front Desk was top notch and always pleasant, and the housekeeping staff dolled up the room every day. Great Cable TV (Investigation Discovery!) The Pool/Hot Tub area was also superb. Thank you! Just a great, relaxing weekend and we'll definitely return!

"Strong perfume"

The staff at this hotel is very courteous, professional, and helpful - however the hotel facility itself is mediocre. My room spelled like buckets of Fabreeze were splashed everywhere and there was an odd, slippery film on all of the tile in the hallway entries, room entry area, and bathrooms. The wifi didn't work properly.

If you want a burning respiratory tract, no internet and a totally inaccurate bill then this is the place for you! I would avoid this hotel at all expense. I'm not sure why my room bothered my respiratory tract, I'm guessing it was recently sprayed and poorly ventilated.

"Misleading price. Dirty. Noisy."

Extremely displease with my experience here. I booked my room from booking.com and was given the price of $181.59, I also clicked the I have a pet option and no additional fee was added. Once I arrived I was told for a pet it would be an additional $20, not what I expected but fine. I'm looking at my credit card charges right now and I was charged $271.60. $90 over my booking costs. This is outrageous and I will report this to my credit card company to have it removed. Also you claim to be pet friendly but there is broken glass along the entire sidewalk of the C door entrance. I had to carry my dog all the way down the street so she didnt step on glass. Also there are animal droppings everywhere. Also there was food and trash throughout the hallway which my dog tried to eat. That of which I grabbed out of her mouth and through back on the floor. Next day the same walnut was there.Why is there not a single trashcan if you claim to be pet friendly. Upon leaving from my room. I did a quick sweep to make sure I didnt leave anything behind and found vicks vapo rub along the side of the bed a half a box of tampons and used tissues under the couch. Thankfully I haven't caught the flu. But that is disgusting that your house keeps don't clean and check around the whole area. Also there were a lot of noise coming from the roof. Sounded like work was being done it was very obnoxious for a sunday morning. It sounded like bowling balls being thrown. I left at 10:30 and had a engagement I had to get to so I didn't have time to tell management. I will be sure to post this to yelp and other social media. Everyone at the hotel were helpful and pleasant to deal with. For dinner we ate at the BBQ Restaurant and the Ribs fell off the bone-----Delicious!! The staff was very friendly....The pool was clean although we could not find any towels available as they were all used....

this motel was very nice, great staff, extremely comfortable bed. It was a great room for the price. If you use PARX poker code you get a discount, so its $85 any night of the week. The breakfast was as good as any free breakfast, and overall the hotel was very clean. It was the most comfortable bed I ever slept in and the staff was very nice.

"Unexpencted surprise"

I would normally lump lower-fare hotels into the usual 'it's fine for what it's worth' but the BW in Bensalem surprised me (in a good way!). The staff members were all nice, the rooms well appointed and modernized. They also just opened a BBQ service which was VERY good. Who would have thought? I recommend this place for the food, the service and the rooms.

"Pet friendly & indoor pool"

After a change in my daughter's work schedule, our Sunday night became available for a little get away. The next day no school so perfect timing. At first finding a place to stay was hard because we wanted an indoor pool and a pet friendly place. Then we found this hotel. I called them. Not only did the woman (Genesis) give us a good rate, she gave us a lower rate than the internet advertised in all sites. There was an extra $20 charge for our little dog, which I was very happy about. We were greeted with a smile, check in was a breeze and we were changed and swimming in the pool within a half hour. The pool closes at 9 but at 9:30 we were still swimming and no one seemed to mind. We left on our own and people were still swimming. There is a hot tub but it wasn't working. The indoor pool seems to be a new construction so they may have been still working on the hot tub. The water was in but it was off. Not a problem. The woman told me that it wasn't working when I booked the room. The room was nice and clean. Clean comfortable beds with lots of pillows, a nice flat screen tv with Direct TV programming. The shower was in good condition and there were plenty of towels. The remote for the TV was missing. The front desk person brought it up personally. We had a little trouble connecting to the wifi. Quick call to tech support we were up and running in no time. Free breakfast in the morning. Cold & hot cereal, juices, milk, coffee, tea, make your own waffle and pancakes, muffins, bread for toast, english muffins, eggs, home fries and sausage. So good. There is a bar that serves food in the day into evening but we didn't use it. There is a guest laundry, mini arcade room and vending machines full of goodies. I will definitely return here with my family.

when calling to get general information about this particular hotel to see if it will meet your requirements you should NOT have to spend 5 to 10 minutes answering questions about a reservation or stay that may or may not even be needed UNLESS the hotel has indeed the amentities and offers what you will need. If I am the CUSTOMER calling to get informatoin about the hotel, I should NOT be required to answer questions first about a possible stay that, I can say now and forever, will NEVER happen at this hotel, or any Best Western hotel if I can make that happen for the rest of my life! "new years in philadelphia"

We went to Philadelphia for the Mummers Parade. This hotel was only 25 minutes outside the city, and was very reasonably priced. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly, and helpful with tip about the area. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

"Hotel was OK, restaurant staff was very, very rude"

This hotel was good-not-great. The bed was comfortable and the room was a good size. But the shower was subpar, the bathroom door could barely be opened from the inside because the bathroom was too small, and the walls were thin. But the real problem came at the continental breakfast, where I stumbled sleepily downstairs in my socks to grab coffee and a quick pastry and was yelled at by a staff member - as in, he literally raised his voice to me - for not wearing shoes. I can't imagine I'm the first person to run down to the continental breakfast for a quick coffee in his socks before, though I suppose it's a reasonable prohibition (a sign might have been nice). But the punishment definitely didn't fit the crime here - instead of simply informing me, the staffer snapped at me, then when I said, "OK, let me just grab a quick pastry and then I'll be gone," he raised his voice and yelled at me like you'd yell at a recalcitrant child. I'm not a believer that the customer is always right, but I am a believer that a hotel staff needs to address its guests with a minimum of politeness. So, yeah... I won't be staying here again.

My husband and I stayed here for 7 days. The rooms were clean and comfortable and everything was quiet. Almost felt like a home away from home. The breakfast was good and offered a variety. "OK hotel"

I think the rooms are starting to look a little worn down and outdated. I had a room with a double bed and one bed was broken. The ironing board in my room was broken. The bathroom was a little dingy as well. The tub was slow to drain while showering. Overall the staff was very professional and helpful.

"The best part was dinner"

I've stayed at many Best Westerns and t his was as good as any. It is everything you expect from the chain, clean rooms, reasonable prices, good amenities. What I did not expect was a good BBQ dinner. They have a new restaurant going in and it is open to guests and soon will be open to the public. I've been making great BBQ for the past 30 years so I know what I'm talking about and the ribs were as good as any I've ever had. . We had my daughter and boyfriend join us and they were as enthusiastic as i was. They will be going back just for the food. If you stay here, get the bibs and the coffee rubbed beef dinners.

This place is like an oasis within the vast desert of chain hotels... It really strikes you upon arrival. The staff are so friendly and professional. Maria at the front desk is an exceptional representative and took really great care of us. If they would remt rooms by the month, I could easily live here forever. The carpets are beautiful. It smells so fresh everywhere. The new indoor pool and jacuzzi are simply delightful. The new gym is very well done. Parx Casino and Race Track is just a few blocks away. Neshaminy Mall & AMC Theaters. Great dining options. Lovely experience all around.

My husband and I stay at the hotel for a few days and we were impressed with the services and the room. The front desk staff, Maria was so professional and was able to inform us of the services the hotel has to offer. We were impressed with the upkeep of the newly renovated indoor pool, jacuzzi and the laundry room. My friends and I booked this hotel last stay because it was so close to the Parx casino!!!! I've been to other hotels and I've never been checked in under 2 min!!!! ( not pushy) The girls at the front desk Maria and Gensis are great workers. Maria with amazing energy and gensis a sweet hardworking girl. They both have enthusiasm for their work and will go out of their way to make you stay enjoyable. They gave us all the info we needed to know about our room, breakfast, dinner and pool. Again all under 2 min. The room was nice and clean and fresh!!!! The pool was nice and didn't smell so much like chlorine because I think they mentioned something about salt water. The breakfast was ok. The cleaning staff was awesome too. And in case you want something different to eat ask Gensis for a place she knows plenty of restaurants. I will definitely be back to this hotel. Keep up the good work!!!

"WOW....Maria is Amazing"

I've Stayed at this hotel a few times now and have probably dealt with most of the staff at check in and check out or just throughout my stay. But Maria at the front desk is the most upbeat, pleasant and helpful staff member I've encountered not only in this hotel but compared to all the hotels I've stayed at. Everyone should watch and take notes from this girl. She knows whats she's doing and you can see that customer service is very natural to her. She should be a Manager From now on, I will only try to deal with Maria during my stays.

"Stayed a couple of nights while visiting Sesame Place"

It was just okay. Nothing remarkable. It is very clean. The room decor is not updated. I hate that harsh bright lighting. It makes everything look very cheap. They sell CFLs in Soft White. The 1st floor rooms have big windows, but you'll be inclined to keep the curtains closed as the parking lot walkway is just under the window. Typical hot breakfast buffet - eggs, home fries, bagels, fruit, yogurt, DIY waffles and pancakes. The dining area is pretty small so get there early. It appeared that they only have 2 high chairs. Many families were there to go to Sesame Place so more high chairs would be helpful. BTW, it took like 15-20 minutes to get to SP. Great location for visiting the park.

"Slept like a baby!"

Booked this hotel last minute. Great rate with adjoining rooms. Hotel is fresh and clean. Great soothing colors. Inviting and cozy guest rooms. Appreciated the indoor pool and hot tub after a long day on my feet. Breakfast was great. Professional, pleasant staff.

I was in my hometown for a wedding and decided on this hotel because of prior reviews and they were right! Very clean and updated hotel! The staff was very friendly and it was centrally located from my hometown and Philadelphia airport! I will stay here again when traveling back home! Also casino is near by (did not get a chance to go not here long enough) but looks like a alot of fun! There was alot of food options near by also! Ok breakfast.

"Pretty good"

This hotel was pretty good for the price. Upon arriving in my room, I started to unpack and went to put my makeup on the counter in the bathroom. There was a puddle of water under the sink and I almost fell. There was also a group of very loud, mostly unsupervised teenagers running loudly up and down the halls, taking up the pool area and shouting, and hanging all over the equipment in the fitness room. My bed was very comfortable, the staff was friendly, and it was mostly relaxing.

"Very friendly staff at late night check in"

The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful. He checked me in in under 5 minutes and then gave me directions to a nearby restaurant that he recommended that ended up being very good. I was honestly so impressed by his positiveness and overall charm that I barely paid attention to the room. If I recall correctly the room was average, had a decent sized bathroom, all amenities included and didn't smell bad. I would certainly recommend this to anyone coming to Bensalem especially if coming to the Parx casino, it is very close and worth the price if you get the Parx Poker Group rate.

The elevator is the first improvement (yes the previous owners did not have one!) but the upgrades to common areas and the really nice breakfast are so welcoming as our dog club uses this hotel as its headquarters and there was a dinner and a finger-food reception both of which were above ordinary. Weak coffee and long wait for service at dinner on our own there keep it from getting an excellent rating.

no finish on tub, saggy bed, lumpy pillow. Ive stayed in Best Western Plus in Harrisburg and It was a world of difference..The stay in Harrisburg prompted me to go with Best Western again but no dice...The ad for this hotel said it was renovated in 2014. Simple Plain accomodations comparable to a lesser rated Hotel group.

Well worth the price. This is now the only hotel we stay at when in Philly. Friendly and helpful front desk, clean and sound proof rooms, wonderful beds, killer breakfast, heated indoor pool, and Wifi. What else do you need?

"Too noisy and dirty for the money..."

We paid $40 extra to stay in a king suite with jacuzzi tub and it was NOT worth it. The jacuzzi tub was so dirty and dingy we were fearful to use it at all. It was also stuck in a crappy corner with a temporary wall between the bathroom that made it dangerous to try and get in and out of. The room itself was obviously converted from some kind of storage area and there were bugs in the sink that made us very worried about bed bugs. The room was extremely noisy as it was on the ground floor right next to the stairwell, parking lot and laundry facility. I would NEVER stay here again.

the hotel was very clean nice quite place right next to a dunkin donuts yummy the staff was great at check in and check out the bed are really nice to sleep in the gm help me out with changing my rate thanks it was really nice of him/her to do that thanks again
