"Not great experience "

My wife and I booked this as our experience of Best Western hotels has been good, this isn't a shining example I am afraid. A few unfortunate niggles made our stay, not as expected The towels are thin and tiny There was only one coffee and one decaf sachet and no milk There was only one bottle water The door seemed very difficult to close, you have to wait for it then Lock it The shower head came of in my hand and went hot and cold consistently The air con although welcome had very bright lights that effected sleep The pillows were square not oblong and were the thinest I have ever experienced The double bed was In fact two rather thin singles held together The toilet bizarrely is separate from the bathroom which feels unhygienic The breakfast was not as expected with simply nothing left or replenished after a coach party departed before we could get in there at 730 am the tables were not even cleared Overall the staff were pleasant but the hotel is in need of maintenance and upgrades, especially considering the high room cost compared to other hotels that are 10 minuets nearer town, we travel a lot in France and would not recommend this one

"Just OK"

To be fair, we only booked this hotel as we couldn't find another room available elsewhere in our chosen area. The room was a bit too orange (and black) and the towels in the bathroom were black and faded black. It's OK and I suppose if you're playing golf it's an ideal place to stay, but we wouldn't rush back. And at €160 for one night in a mediocre room not brilliant value in the area.

"A Conflicting Experience"

I visited this place alone for business in 2016. Pros: The location is a very nice golf resort inside a wide green area. The room is large and comfortable. The cleanliness is acceptable. Cons: The breakfast is unacceptable for a 4 stars facility in my humble opinion. Way too frugal. The WiFi doesn't work consistently. The quality-price ratio is probably unfair. ____________ My overall experience was partially positive and partially disappointing.

"Great staff"

During our roadtripp in France we needed a place to stay and our prio number one was a hotel with pool (40 degrees that day). When we arrived the friendly receptionist showed us the room and asked if we needed a hand with our luggage. The pool was small but great! The room was modern and tidy. One kingsize bed and two smaller beds for the kids. The receptionist also reserved a table at a restaurant for us and that was a perfect match for us. The hotel does not have a restaurant but there are plenty of them nearby. Later in the evening my husband wanted some snacks. He ordered a cheeseplate and a bottle of really good redwine. The breakfast was 15€ /adult and 8€/child and was small but ok. Friendly staff with extreamly good serviceskills. Parking outside the hotel free of charge (or in the garage 8€/night).

Thank you very much for your advice. It' very rewarding for my staff tack sa° mycket

"Convenient spot in lovely area, close enough to motorway."

Agree with other travellers that the parking charge is unreasonable. We found the staff ( mostly) very helpful and breakfast good for a french hotel. We were luckily upgraded to a river side room and these are nicer but usually more expensive! However our room was not very clean; I got the impression that the bathroom was cleaned and a cursory glance at the rest. There were definitely pet hairs on the carpet and there was a big spider and web under the desk. Rooms a good size. Pool area was rather neglected as are the large pot plants on the dining level. Would stay again for a convenience reason rather than out of choice.

Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you for your nice comments on the staff and the breakfast. Concerning the room, if you see something wrong inside when you arrive, really dont hesitate to tell us ! We will be able to give you another room perfectly cleaned and your stay could be really better. Our staff is here at every time to help you having the best conditions, we just need to be warned.

"Close to Beaune and comfortable"

This is a practical and comfortable solution if you wish either to play golf or to stay in the countryside while still close to Beaune. Service is good but interior design is basic - colors are sometimes strange - and there is only brewed coffee for breakfast - no expresso available.

Agnès D, Propriétaire at Best Western Golf Hotel Colvert, responded to this review
Hello, thank you for your comment. In the breakfast room, you have a small panel which inform you of the availabality of expresso, and different eggs if you need it. Concerning the design, our hotel has been recently full refurbished and modernized by a famous french designer (Kreatitud company) . The colors are different in each room, maybe you just had the one you dont like. We are really sorry about that. Don't hesitate to tell us what do you need exactly when you come, we would be really glad to see you again in our region !

"We loved this place lost in the country side"

This is a small gem lost in the country side of Bourgogne. You'll be surprised by the moderness of the establishment. The room was perfect for our need. We were really tired so we ask the front desk for a plate of cheese and charcuteries with two nice glass of burgandy. We enjoyed it in a beatiful solarium on the second floor. We are keeping this address because, we'll be back

"Nice room, but some niggles."

The room is very nice and clean. Also big enough for the family (we had 2 beds added for our children). However, we didn't get coffee for the room (we wanted to leave early to avoid traffic), and I find it ridiculous that we had to pay €8 for parking. It's not inside the town or anything!

"Traffic noise was a bit of a problem"

The hotel was nice, clean and comfortable, but I was surprised to find my sleep somewhwat disturbed by traffic. The hotel is located on the outskirts of a small village, Levernois. The road that leads to (D111L) it is small and looks like a dead end road just for local traffic, but it's actually a through street that connects Levernois to the next village of Combertaut. Even during the night time, there will be a fast going car passing by about every 10 minutes. To be fair, the noise was not terrible and didn't ultimately stop me from sleeping, but it was a disappointment compared to the absolute peace and quiet I had expected. One little irritant: this hotel only has a few outside parking spots, and a small (unsecured) parking garage. The garage is essentially just covered parking, and offers no added value for overnight parking, yet the hotel charges guests 8 EUR to park in that garage. The only reason to park in that garage is lack of outside parking. Guests should not be punished with an extra fee for being unlucky and not getting one of the few outside parking spots.

"A two star hotel in a 4 star environment"

Checking into a new hotel is always an adventure.. A 4 star BW should be fine by all standards but I am sorry to say that this one deserves at best 2 stars - and even than I prefer the old French two stars in the local village. The location is excellent for anyone - five minutes from town center and almost on the golf course - but also just next to the road where apparently there is no speed limit. Our room was sufficiently big and recently renovated so first impression was positive. Outside it was warm, over 26 Celsius, so when we switched on the airco it started to do something - but not cool the air. The owner explained us that 3 rooms were on the same system so all rooms had to be either on cooling or on heating. She was not quite sure where the other rooms were so we asked for the cooling option. Which was promised but not delivered. After having an excellent dinner in a nearby restaurant we returned to the room to discover that may be heater was on since it was unbearable warm in the room. The owned was no longer there so we oped to doors and let the cool air in - as well as the noise from the passing cars who on the nice saturday evening were apparently doing a local contest. It was either the heat or the noise so we choose the latter and did not get much sleep. We rose at 06.30, had a walk and a typical french (read minimalistic) breakfast and decided that this was the first and last stay. And oh yes - after taking a shower the whole bathroom floor was inundated due to lousy plumbing (but that is just a detail..) One may expect much more of a 4 star hotel.

"A great home base for exploring Burgundy"

If you are visiting Beune, this is a great alternative to staying in the town. Located about a 10 minute (5 km) drive from the city center, the property is in a quiet country setting. It is very well managed by the charming owner, Agnes, and her second in command, the delightful and energetic Suzanne. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated and very well maintained. The hotel staff is excellent and clearly happy to be there. In particular, Sonya, manages a first-rate breakfast, and Amelie, the lovely young woman who manned the front desk during our visit, was charming and always helpful. In terms of planning, Suzanne in particular was a great asset in optimizing our time and experiences. Definitely consult her for restaurant recommendations, wine tasting venues, etc. All in all, beyond from providing excellent lodging, the Best Western Golf Hotel Colvert offered a friendly home base for our Burgundy adventure. One last note: if you are driving into Beaune from the hotel, enter 1 Place Madeleine on your GPS and you will wind up at a good free parking area.

"Great staff and Golf!"

3 nights here were great. We were here in winter, and used this place to go into Paris each day. Construction next door woke us up on our last day at 7 AM, but they are not responsible for that, just ask them. Breakfast was great, they forgot to bill me for it, I volunteered that info to them, and paid the 54 euros. Sauna was nice, pool closed, but hey, the rooms were only 75$ a night; 50% off! Train station is a bit of a walk, about 2k, but we drove, so no problem, not much space to park though at this station, or any others in France.

"Not up to BW standards"

We stayed here for a night on a drive through France , so as to see Beaune. Reception was fine, the room was OK, we had to drive into town to get dinner as there is no hotel restaurant. Breakfasr was a joke, all the tables were full of crumbs, there was just about no bread left and the woman in the kitchen did not come out all the time to either tidy up or refill the "buffet", so we had a yoghurt and 2 mini pieces of baguette each. Coffee was self service or we would died of thirst. When it came to checkout, we arranged to pay with loyalty points, as the young man at reception offered us this option,. We then got a phone call when we got home that a) this was not possible, b) breakfast was NOT included, which was a nasty surprise. We really cannot say we wish to stop off here again as nothing seems to be clearcut and the price does not seem justified for the level of service we experienced.

"Very good"

Staff were exceptionally friendly and arranged a free wine tasting at a local chateau. No restaurant but an excellent one recommended within walking distance. Room had a balcony overlooking the golf course.

"Beautiful setting"

We've had overnight stops at this hotel many times and have always been warmly welcomed. The rooms are spacious and this year, rooms overlooking the golf course at the back of the hotel have been upgraded and now also include tea and coffee making facilities. There is no restaurant as such at the hotel, although they do offer a range of meals that can be brought to the room or eaten in the breakfast room. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance in this lovely little village where you can enjoy very good food. Rooms have large balconies with table and two chairs.

"A short walk to the golf course and to an excellent restaurant"

The hotel lacks charm but is handy for other places in Levernois. Our room was spacious and well equipped. One would rather think of a 3 star hotel.Very few free parking spaces so be prepared to add another 8 euros for a space inside the garage.Breakfast also lacks imagination. The city of wine Beaune is a short drive away.

"Hard to find but well worth the effort"

We had an overnight stay here on our way down to southern France, and were very pleased with the hotel. It is in a very quiet area, up a country lane, but well worth the effort of looking. Our room was spacious and had lovely wide windows overlooking the course. The receptionist was very helpful and was able to book us into a restaurant (very good too) for that night. Breakfast was plentiful, and I believe they are also trying to introduce English breakfasts too, but when we were there, it was a continental breakfast - lovely fresh croissants.

"Peace and Quiet in the Countryside"

Rather non-descript hotel in the countryside. Very friendly check-in. Later, when it was cold in our room, she came and taught us how to turn on the heat. Our room overlooked a sparkling stream and had a nice balcony. Unfortunately, we had a cold rain, so couldn't enjoy it much! Went to a recommended gourmet restaurant (check in made the arrangements) and enjoyed a very typical French country meal in a lovely home setting! Beds were comfortable, parking right out front, breakfast (included in our package) was many choices for a French breakfast. We would definitely stay again, just would love better weather to enjoy the beauty of the country!

"Nice in Burgundy"

A beautiful small hotel, in a total relaxing area on Golf courses. Just 10 minutes to wineyards on the Cote d'Or in Burgundy. Clean, large and comfortable rooms, good service and quality breakfast. A place to stay for a week/weekend on holiday.

"Best Avoided"

The hotel is scruffy and the interior could do with a good clean. No restaurant for evening meals despite it being marked as a four star so you have to get in your car and go to the nearest village. Swimming pool was non operational and gardens needed some attention. Avoid breakfast as it consisted mostly of croissants, bread and stale coffee and was certainly not worth the 14 euros charged .per person

"Wonderful hotel"

We were so pleased with Best Western Colvert. It was not only roomy, but it was spotless and our room was large. The rural setting was great. The employees were wonderful and very helpful. I can highly recommend a stay at this hotel.
