« Classic feel and very comfortable! »

I love this hotel and the way it feels. Old style architecture and comfortable amendities. Running machine and breakfast made my stay enjoyable. Rooms were really big and cozy. Free coffee and shampo. Parking was easy and convenient. I have to say they did everything right. Also they have Cox cable that has good Christian stations. Front desk was very nice. Highly recommend this hotel for any future trip.

« Once was great, not any more »

We made reservations through, which follows the prospective hotel's cancelation policy (24 hours in advance). However, when we got there, we were very disappointed. The hotel was clearly the cat's pajamas about fifty years ago. The architecture is interesting, there are many amenities (including a sauna), and the suite we reserved is large. But the room smelled. Old carpets and cleaning fluids. The furniture looked newer. The problem was, the windows don't open. We looked at another room, which had the same smell. So we called and explained the situation. They called down to the front desk and asked if we could cancel without penalty. It ended up costing $25, which is reasonable. We just couldn't stay there. Too bad. It has lots of potential. We drove to Lafayette and got a hotel for $25 less, so we broke even.

« Dated hotel in indifferent neighborhood »

The hotel had a rather gloomy air about it despite having a large atrium which never seemed to shed as much light as you'd expect. Large clean rooms with reasonable amenities but dated and a bit tired. The girl on reception was friendly but not overly interested in us and we felt a little uneasy about the surrounding neighborhood and the safety of the car park. Breakfast was perfectly adequate for this class of hotel.

    « Just average... »

Service was outstanding. Room was very large and clean, but the bed and pillows were too lumpy (terrible for sleeping). Carpet was torn (right at foot of the bed, but still unsightly). Breakfast is free but I wouldn't recommend what they were passing off for scrambled eggs (YUCK).

    « A good place to stay »

Neighborhood is a little questionable but the motel itself is nice. Not real close to any good restaurants or evening entertainment. Comfortable rooms, being all suites, with a very good breakfast in an open atrium. I stay here often when in Baton Rouge.

« Old, old, old and in need of major update »

This is an old hotel that is in need of a complete update. The rooms are huge and it is clean, I can say that much. But everything, including the colonial furniture and the rugs in particular needs to be replaced. I only stayed there because there were no other alternatives at the time, and believe me, I tried to find something else after checking in. There is nothing surrounding the hotel. As others have said, the breakfast is fair, but is better than no breakfast at all. There is no restaurant, no bar, no couches in lobby, just a lot of uncomfortable iron patio furniture that people use for breakfast. Desk staff were pleasant but on their cell phones while they were working. Just skip this place.

    « Matt »

It was a place to stay for the weekend, not the best part of town. The people could be friendlier as well. The elevator smelled terrible. The only positive was breakfast was decent. Our uber drivers warned us of possible gang activity every time they dropped us off. It made us feel super safe. If I go back I will not choose to stay there again.

« Poor quality of hotel. »

blood on sheets, a/c did not work properly. elevator smelled like dirty locker room. Carpets in room dirty and was not vacuumed the 5 days I was there. Juice machine did not work properly. Over all condition of property was very poor. Was in Louisiana working thr flood. Would not have stayed ther if I could have found another place.

« With the ambience of the French Quarter! »

This hotel is a must stay in Baton Rouge. The rooms are HUGE, and the staff is very friendly. The lobby makes you feel like you're in the French Quarter, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. This was my second stay at this hotel, and I will happily come back again!

    « Visiting Louisiana »

The hotel is clean and the room are spacious. Breakfast is very basic but as in a lot of American hotels. Swimming pool is nice but unfortunately it is also the smoking area and only four long chairs are available. Service really depends on the person providing it. Some of the assistants are very kind, other even don't reply to greetings when entering the hotel. Access controls of the hotel is not very good, some weird people were hanging around in the hotel pretending they had a room. So the hotel is OK for a short stay but more than average for several days. No bar, no restaurant and no stairs (elevator has to be used)!

« Spacious and comfortable room »

This hotel was definitely unique looking--which is a plus when you're on the road. We found our room to be very clean and comfortable. We had a lot of space and the room was well lit. We got a good night's sleep! Wifi worked well, as did the TV

    « Great Location »

The hotel staff was accommodating but the hotel's complimentary breakfast is fair at best and the amenities in the room are average. The location was central and perfect for my purposes. It was about what I expected for business accommodations.

    « Very nice, clean »

We drove fifteen hours from North Carolina to Baton Rouge as a gift for my daughter's and niece's graduation. We absolutely loved the atmosphere of the entire state! The hotel was clean and breakfast was delicious! We had plenty of space in the oversized room. The only complaints: We had to continuously ask for towels from one desk clerk, but the other clerks went above and beyond to help us each time. The pool was clean, the staff was very friendly and I'd stay again in a heart beat. Beware: the bathroom was very small and no shower message. Other than that, it was a wonderful get away. Hats off to the staff for being so friendly and helpful!

    « Business trip »

I was going to arrive late and when I arrived, the front desk clerk was expecting me and had my room key ready. The bed was very comfortable and offered a good nights rest. Breakfast was very nice, suggestion would be to have prepared oatmeal with toppings. I will stay here again.

« Enjoying a couples night out away from home in Baton Rouge »

The primary reason for picking this hotel was for the location of the event that we were going to attend. We did not realize when we booked this room that all rooms were suites, so we opened the door and saw that we had a spacious suite this was a bonus. The room was fresh and very clean. The small refrigerator and microwave was nice to have, since we had some left over food from lunch. We did not get the opportunity to check out the breakfast for we got in late and slept in, but I am sure it would have met our satisfaction. Our room overlooked the pool which was bright blue and if we would have not forgotten our swim wear we would have went for a swim.We will definitely stay at this hotel in the future, for it is only blocks away from the venue that were was attending and has many extra amenties for the value.

« The Chateau Louisianne lives up to its rather romantic name »

ok the outside is not that imposing...but once past the front desk the atrium is most attractive with a water feature with plenty of greenery, this is also the breakfast area. A glass fronted elevator adds more charm and the rooms are accessed from the balconies. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was more than adequate...all in all a splendid welcome to staying in Louisianna

« Priced Right, Very Comfortable »

Yes, the rooms are semi old... But hey, isn't it about a nice clean place, most comfortable bed, and a secure place for your vehicle? Breakfast is rather blasé there, but the coffee is good. And if you choose a place because of the breakfast, you're one crazy person. It has a clean pool, clean-hot tub and steam room. If I come back to town, for $80 I'm all over this place.

    « Clean and Quiet »

People keep making a point of this hotel being old. Yes, it is. So what? The rooms are HUGE, clean and comfortable at a VERY reasonable price. No, they don't have meat with the breakfast on weekdays, but the breakfast they do have is excellent! I am so pleased to have a decent selection of yogurt. Coffee is Community and top drawer. The whole place is spotless. The parking is easy access. There's nothing in the area you can easily walk to, but there are plenty of restaurants and shopping close by. The location I work at is less than a mile away. No traffic. No hassle. I think this hotel delivers a lot for the money. There is a gym, outdoor pool, indoor sauna/hot tub, vending machine area and free USA Today. It has everything the big names have. It just isn't flashy. I'd call it stately and I really like staying there.

« One nighter in Baton Rouge »

We are on the road for 6 months and were looking for an overnight stay in Baton Rouge on our way to Pensacola. The front desk staff were helpful at check in but on checking out l stood in reception for 4 minutes as there was no one at the front desk. The foyer is very refreshing with a water feature. Our room was clean and with the separate lounge area it felt spacious. The bed was very comfortable.

    « it will do »

The room was clean and large but was dated. The staff was really unfriendly.....that means a lot as mast people be have met in Louisiana have been beyond friendly. The breakfast was OK but nothing out of the ordinary. If given the chance to come back I would go somewhere else. My companion liked the sauna but had a heck of a time getting a towel from the front desk both times that he tried.

« First Visit to Baton Rouge »

This is a typical Louisianna style hotel with wrought iron balustrades, complimented with dark furniture. Reminded us of an earlier visit to the Place d'Armes in New Orleans.. Despite some others comments that this hotel needs an update - to do so would ruin the overall concept. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Good selection at breakfast. Room clean, bed very comfotable

« One day in Baton Rouge with dog »

The room was fine but small for a suite. Good value. Front desk was friendly and accommodating, gave good directions to restaurants, etc. Spoke with some guests who are repeat guests and their impressions were obviously positive. Dog friendly with a good place to walk our dog

« Good Rates, Average Property »

This is a slightly older property with good rates for the city. Our large room was welcoming, but the sleeper sofa couch was terrible to sit on and the quality of the mattress was sorely lacking. Although the room itself was clean, the bathroom appeared to have discolored tile, possible from a leak, that might have contained some level of mold.

« 7 night stay in Baton Rouge »

This property offered many amenities, including hot breakfast, fine Wi-Fi, guest laundry, hot tub/steam room, outdoor pool, ample parking, spacious room (advertised as all-suite hotel), and a quite striking, large, 3 story, open atrium in the centre of the hotel, which incorporated the lobby and breakfast/sitting area. The 2 young ladies we dealt with at check-in and check-out were excellent. Friendly and efficient. The 2 young men on during the evening were quite aloof, detached, and unengaged. Access to the hotel was easy and the area was very quiet. The house-keeping, at times, was somewhat lax in that some amenities, including bed make-up, needed improving. Would not hesitate to stay here again if in Baton Rouge.

« Beware of extra charges. »

Booked through Priceline. At check in, was informed that we had to pay a $50 fee that would be returned to us at check out. If someone is on a tight budget, that could be a problem. Lucky for us, it wasn't. Front desk seemed like they had a chip on their shoulder and didn't want to be there either. Room smelled of mold. Sheets were clean at least and we didn't get bedbugs. Thankfully, we just stayed for one night and didn't have to use the yucky shower...ewww. The rooms looked like it was the same furnishings and decorations from the 80's. The only reason we chose this hotel was because it was close to the Texas Club. We had tickets to a concert for that night. Their breakfast consisted of OJ, water, white sandwich bread and cereal. We left, and had a real breakfast down the street. Would not stay here again, unless we go back to the Texas Club and then I would even have to think long and hard about that.

    « Needs renovation »

I would not stay in this hotel again, The hotel is very dated with dated furnishings. The room we stayed in was suppose to be a King Suite. However, a suite it was not. Everything from the curtains to the furniture needs updating. Semi clean however even the legs of the ironing board was dirty. The Plus status should not be given to this hotel. We have stayed in much better Best Western's that charged much less.

« Beware if you book through Expedia!!! »

I was originally going to give this place 4 stars, that is until I went to check out. We were there on business and the meetings ended a day early so we checked out a day early. We asked the night before and the guy at the desk(who acts like he hates his job) said we wouldn't be charged. Great! Well, the next day I check out and the GM says that we won't be refunded because we booked through Expedia!! Called Expedia and Best Western and still got "no" for an answer. We had to pay for a night we didn't stay due to Best Western policy. So frustrating! Other info on this hotel: Everything is old, the pillows, sheets and furniture. We could see through the sheets. This hotel needs major updating! Sometimes, the water wouldn't get hot. I had to ask for towels 2 days in a row. There is no desk, only a table to work at. The room was big and clean. Breakfast has no meat. When we checked in I asked for a top floor room, but got 2nd floor? The staff for the most part is nice. Some don't care at all. The area is a little sketchy. One guy across the hall gave me an uneasy feeling because he watched me walk down the hallway. They had a bunch of pool workers there. Some tips: Bring a power strip! There were 3 outlets in the room. There is one behind the headboard so you can't access it. You can't plug in anything near the nightstand. Be cautious. Some shady people stay here.

    « soooo disappointing!!!!! »

I always trust tripadvisor reviews but I got let down this time, we chose this hotel for our Baton Rouge stay because it was the closest to family that live there and the reviews were at least good, but it was bad! Front desk clerk on arrival was not knowledgeable, arrival at room looked good in the dark, then we turned on the light. Carpet dirty and stained, beds looked old and they were so soft and bad on the back, one bed had hair on the sheets.Next day I checked my reservation with priceline and found out we could not cancel and stuck here for 4 nights. Breakfast turned out to be pretty decent compared to everything else. Mold & Mildew in grout around tub, but it gets worse. 2nd day housekeeping did not replenish the in room coffee or the towels. 3rd day housekeeping did not show up at all and the man at the front desk was not to be bothered, he was always looking down or sleeping, and not dressed like a hotel employee, at the end of the day, like midnight, I finally had to wake the man up and ask for towels since we didnt have any left and he went in the back for awhile finally returned with 2 skimpy pool towels not saying a word. On the 4th day, I approached a female that looked like she may actually be able to help and asked if we would have housekeeping today, her response was " we should" well, I aleady knew that WE SHOULD, that wasnt the question. This place was overpriced and what a ridiculous staff! There was a lot of construction or road workers staying here so if you get a room by the ice machine, everybody starts filling their lunch coolers at 6:30am sharp. There is a pharmacy up on the corner to get back pain pills.

    « Pleasant surprise »

This hotel was off the beaten path but made the trip worthwhile. The outside and lobby remind you of New Orleans with wrought iron, statues, fountain and gardens. The rooms are spacious and the hotel is clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were great. I really enjoyed my brief stay and have already recommended it to friends.

    « 3 night stay »

Facility is off the beaten path but easily accessible, which we preferred. The ambiance had a Vieux Carré flavor and that was very nice. The facility is 3 stories with a center court yard and has wrought iron railings that overlook the court yard. The room we stayed in was spacious with a coffee maker, microwave, and small refrigerator. The room included a king size bed, comfortable arm chair, small dining table with two chairs. The HVAC was adequate and provided a comfortable temperature without excessive noise. Internet access was adequate but was unsecure. Parking with a full house might be a problem but with the limited guests while we were there was adequate. The facility included an outdoor pool which we did not use as it was a bit chilly in January. We did utilize the hot tub spa and steam room which we found to be a nice way to relax in the evening or morning. The breakfast offering was not exceptional but was adequate for our needs and included coffee, juice, scrambled eggs, a variety of pastry items, grits, and cook you own waffles.

    « Business trip »

The hotel staff were accommodating. The room was adequate. No problems! Although I am not much of a breakfast eater, I did find that the breakfast could have offered more variety as I know many people do like to have a good breakfast to start their day.

« New Orleans Ambiance to a Tee »

Beautiful room suites, Great price, Lobby so inviting and great breakfast! Staff friendly, Caring and professional. This was my second stay here and it was every bit as nice as the first time. Can't wait to come back when I have time to sight see and relax here longer.

« coming for king cake »

This hotel was wonderful has all the charm that would be associated with Louisiana and the South. rooms were large and clean would expect to pay much more. Service was friendly and helpful they gave me a list of area restaurants that had what I was looking for. The grounds were spotless and well maintained as was the hotel. Check out Gambinos Bakery best in the state.

    « Pleasently surprised »

Chateau Lousianne is an older property off the I-10 fast track. Our suite was large and clean. We had an issue with our reservation which the manager took care of for us. The breakfast buffet was nice with hot and cold foods to go with good Community coffee.

    « The Inaugural Ball »

Our stay at the Best Western Chateau Louisianne was great! We were attending the Governor's Inaugural Ball. The staff always treats me like family. My room was spacious and clean. The French Quarter Atrium and the glass elevator are unique. They help bring out an Old World charm that most cookie-cutter hotels lack. The free wifi and abundant hot breakfast just adds to the value of your stay. Every time I am in town I usually stay at this hotel. In fact in 2015 I stayed here at least 45 times! I will be back in a couple of weeks.

« Can't be a good breakfast with no meat. Only eggs and some hard biscuits. »

Arrived around 10pm for 4 rooms that I reserved directly with hotel. Desk clerk only had reservation for 1 room. Fortunately hotel was fairly empty. Noise from lobby started around 6 am as a few guest were in the common area that echos. When we arrived down for breakfast at 7am there was no meat and the biscuits were rock hard. The batter for the waffle mix was also out. I specifically chose this hotel because the reviews on trip advisor said "best hotel breakfast". I normally stay at hotels with the free hot breakfast and I will honestly say it is not up to standard with Holiday Inn Express and Choice Hotels. The price for the hotel was not any lower than the Holiday Inn Express. This Best Western was closer to a meeting I had scheduled the next morning and did not want to be stuck on I-10 crossing the river. On a positive note, hotel experience match expectations for Best Western, clean but can always use a few updates. So our stay was average and next time in Baton Rouge, we will most likely look towards a different national chain.

    « Super-CLEAN, Charming & Friendly »

Top notch customer service, exceedingly clean (microwave & fridge were spotless), perfect pillow top mattress and crisp cotton sheets, fluffy white towels. Nothing even remotely stained. Spacious room with floor-to-ceiling windows, comfy furniture and multiple lamps. The room-darkening curtains let me sleep on my schedule, and the walls must be thick, because my room was near the elevator, but I rarely heard anyone outside in the hallway and wasn't bothered by street noise. It was quiet, and I slept like a princess. I took advantage of the 24-hr coffee (Community brand) which was consistently hot and strong during my whole stay. I also spent time in the sauna/steam room & whirlpool -- all of it spotless. The three-story atrium, stuffed with palm trees and lush plants made me feel like I was in an oasis, and the little koi pond sported happy, healthy koi and a relaxing fountain. It rained every day of my trip, but I found myself in such a welcoming and beautiful environment that I was almost grateful for the rain. Most enjoyable stay in a hotel, ever.

    « Best Western Chateau »

All around great stay. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast bar was very good. It had many choices including, eggs, grits, sausage, waffles, various pastries, fruits, yogurt, cereals, coffee, and fruit juices. This was our second stay and we plan to stay again on future trips.

« Large Clean Room, Very Attractive Facility »

Very nice hotel, both the lobby and the room. The staff was very welcoming, and helpful if we had a question. We chose this hotel because of the location, and because we have really grown to like Best Western properties in the last couple of years. This hotel was a good example of why we have. We would definitely recommend, or stay here again.

    « Good stay »

Large clean room. Comfy bed. Great shower. Decent internet Better than average breakfast. Staff was friendly and efficient. Cool looking lobby. Convenient to dining and shopping All in all, a good stay.

« Nice Hotel with a stylish Old South Feel »

I really liked this place.Giant, gorgeous room and a nice staff. Baton Rouge is a nice southern city and not far from New Orleans. This hotel is a good deal and worth the price. I wish we had stayed longer, and will definitely return!

    « Wonderful Hotel »

I really like this place, It has big, classic rooms. The staff is nice and the area is away the typical chain hotel row. I would definitely stay there again. The breakfast was not amazing but OK. Baton Rouge is the true south and has that character.

« Meeting in Baton Rouge »

The Best Western Chateau Louisianne is a great Suite hotel. It serves the best breakfast in town. The hotel is very nice and all the rooms open onto an inside corridor over looking the beautiful atrium! They even have a nice swimming pool and suana. If you have time there is a fitness room. The hotel is located in town about 5 miles east of downtown away from all the traffic. I have stayed here for business at least 35 times this year alone!

« Ratin for BW Chateau Louisianne »

The room was clean and comfortable. The overall facility was as good as I have come to expect from a Best Western. Overall I was please with my stay. The location was close to where I needed to be but the part of town where it was located leaved a lot to be desired.

« Older Hotel But Nice »

We were in Baton Rouge to visit relatives, and chose it due its close proximity to them and its rating in Trip Advisor. We stayed for three nights. The linens were changed and the room cleaned every day. The suite was roomy and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. When we are visiting our relatives in Baton Rouge we will definitely stay there again.

    « Hotel »

Great hotel with nice atrium/interior area. Staff friendly. Rooms clean and beds comfortable. I have stayed at this hotel 3 times in the last 2 years, and have been completely satisfied every time. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice clean hotel with a great price.

    « Don't judge a book by it's cover »

This hotel has a seemingly gloomy look on the outside, but it has a classy taste on the inside. I didn't know what I signed up for when my friend recommended me this hotel. But I was utterly surprised by the neat interior and fancy decorations. I definitely look forward to spending time at this hotel again when I come back to visit.

« Pet friendly large rooms »

One of my favorites because of the size of the rooms and pet friendliness! My cat is always at ease here with room to explore (just ask for a room that is not adjacent to the ice machine!) Great New Orleans décor, friendly staff, and great breakfast buffet variety. Although it's a little off the beaten path, I like being away from the freeways. And it's location makes a great halfway stop between Austin and Birmingham.

    « A small, quiet, affordable hotel »

Good location, great atmosphere, quaint, quiet, clean, affordable. There are only ground and 2nd floor rooms. All face an inner enclosed atrium. Was traveling on business, and would have been happy to use this hotel as a base of operations if in the area for an extended period.

When we got there we noticed it smelled odd throughout the hotel but decided to give it a chance. Then while sitting on the bed roaches began coming out from underneath the pillow and top of the headboard. When I told the counter person there were roaches in my room I want to checkout he didn't even flinch. I had to show him pictures I took because he wouldn't even go look. He then proceeded to charge my credit card and check me out...not even an apology. I wouldn't recommend this place even without the roaches.

    « Game Visit »

The interior of the hotel is unique. From looking at the pictures online I had an idea of being waterside somewhere or along a quite street. It was more of an industrial setting, but it's easy to forget that once you enter the interior of the hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. Our five mile ride to the stadium in a cab was $20 bucks or so. And it was about the same to get to the airport the next day. The hotel does not offer airport shuttle service. The breakfast the next morning was sufficient and the staff was excellent.

    « 70's Flashback »

Would not recommend at all. The hotel room was dark outdated and smelled musty. Lighting was awful, neighborhood depressing and Baton Rouge was less than remarkable. Went to the Angola Rodeo and Cajun Country Swamp Tour - both must do's and so much fun!!

« Wonderful surprise and great value! »

This hotel was a wonderful surprise. The price was fantastic. I wasn't impressed when I first pulled up - the area is more commercial and the front drive was being paved. However, once inside, the lobby atrium is lovely and the room was great. My suite was right off the atrium. It was huge and very clean, comfortable and nicely done. Breakfast was in the atrium which is a nice place to sit and enjoy.

    « Sorta Average »

Wasn't happy...very outdated and run down. The room smelled when we entered, bed and pillows were very uncomfortable, towels thin...the check in person, Su, wasn't very knowledgeable about the area, and when we asked to change rooms he couldn't help us a couple of hours later, I found out he had my ID! Luckily he came to the room and returned it. We left a day early, didn't want to spend another nite.... Also the location isn't good for tourists, out of the area for DT and restaurants. Upon check out, LeRoyal was on duty and apologized for all the inconvenience. Wish he'd been there when we checked in!

« Good place to stay in Baton Rouge »

The hotel is looking as a little castle when you arrive. The rooms are great, good size and clean rooms. The indoor atrium is also very nice and breakfast is good. Staff was not interested when we arrived but more friendly and helpful the next day(s).

    « Over expectations! »

Nice exterior and public areas, pleasant indoor atrium. HUGE well appointed and clean rooms. Hot breakfast served in the atrium. Two gripes: In this time and age a non-secure WiFi? This very much limits what productive work you can do in the hotel. Also, at the desk NO electric sockets, so it's either drain your batteries or work on the floor... Also no power strips available, you have to find your own. If these problems hadn't been there, this nice establishment would have qualified for a "5". I'll be back and hope it's fixed when I do.

« Great breakfast, OK housekeeping »

Everything about this hotel was great except for the housekeeping. It seemed like we were constantly trying to locate clean towels for our room because housekeeping never left them. The room itself was clean and very nice, the pool was very clean too. All in all, a good experience, but they need to re-train their housekeeping staff.
