Recently renovated, the Best Western® Executive Business Hotel is located in the commercial heart of the city, on the main road Corso Vittorio Emanuele. We are located near the historic center of Bari and a short distance from the harbor. it is the ideal starting point to enjoy tourist sightseeing as well as business stays. Enjoy your stay.
This hotel did the job- an overnight stop to catch a flight from Bari the next day. The room was large, clean and modern (in pleasant contrast to the reception area). Several items outlined in the information guide were missing from the room, such as tea and coffee facilities and the safe but that was not an issue. Breakfast was satisfactory and the old man serving the hot drinks was adorable!!!! He chatted away to us in Italian although we could not understand him and was incredibly cheerful. Unlike the 2 women who checked us in the evening prior! Talk about ATTITUDE! Very unfriendly, borderline rude. It was very disappointing. The hotel info in the room says "Hotel Best Western offers you a warm welcome"- someone clearly forgot to tell those two!
The location of the hotel is great and it is very easy to get from the hotel to the old town and explore Bari. Also quite near the hotel you can find a very nice beach. The room was OK, big, clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was a bit small, but we always had warm water, which was more important than the size. The staff was great and helpful. Breakfast was OK, not very diverse but enough for everybody and there was something for each taste. In our room we did not have a mini fridge for our drinks and the air conditioning was not working well, it took quite some time to cool the room. Regarding parking, we have parked on the street of the hotel, where you have to pay for parking. It costs 1 euro per hour but you have to pay only on working days between 08:30 and 20:30 (in total 12 euros per day) - taking into consideration that on the street next to the hotel the parking was 2 euros per hour, it was OK.
The hotel is located in the centre of Bari, just a stone throw away from Barivecchia, seafront and San Nicola. Special thanks to Mr. Michele, who made great coffee and gave us tips on what to visit and eat in Bari.
The location is perfect for exploring the city. It is a very basic European hotel IME. Basic breakfast offered - no frills room. Old building, so not enough empty outlets for plugging in computer, etc. Had to unplug TV and lamps. Bed old but comfortable enough. Pillow very old apparently - smelled bad. No refrigerator in room. Does have elevator - thank heavens. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. I would return for that reason.
I'm not sure what some of the bad reviews are about. I've travelled a lot for business in the US and this hotel was absolutely fine. I mean it's not the Mayfair or the Ritz, but it doesn't claim to be. In fact, I'd say for a three star hotel it gives incredible value. My room was super clean and comfortable. Great linens, soap, etc. marble baseboards and steps. Ceramic floors. Tasteful. More importantly, the staff were very kind. I arrived extremely early as it happened and they accommodated me as soon as they could. On check out they let me stay an extra half an hour. Both front desk women were very nice. The coffee man was super sweet, too. It's got an ideal location for walking around town which I appreciated as a single female traveler. The palace Fizzarotti is right next door and if you can arrange a tour I would recommend it. Honestly, for the price you can't go wrong. In fact, some of the other highly rated hotels were in areas I would not want to stay. This is much better. It was a bit noisy at night but it's urban. I always listen to music off my phone before I get to sleep anyway.
Everything here is budget. Very thin walls. Hear all your neighbours, every thing!. Hard beds. Thin hard pillows. No kettle or fridge. Tiny room. Tiny window looking into a stairwell - without stairs ??. Nice reception staff. Clean. One night enough. Would pay more next time to be more comfortable. Good location. Free wifi. Get what you pay for.
Overall, pretty pleased with this choice and reflects what we paid for Staff - very friendly and helpful Room - clean and fairly modern Lobby - a little old and not to the usual BW standards Breakfast - free but quite basic - can't really grumble though Location - only a 10/15 walk from the old centre so great position Others - aircon didn't work so with the windows open it was a little noisy - about 20/25 minutes walk from the train station - the airport bus stops on the opposite corner - cash point down the road
My room was clean and modern. Black and white decor, no frills but a good size. Breakfast ok, fairly basic savoury options with a selection of cakes and pastries. The hotel entrance is rather tired and could do with a revamp. However it is well placed for visiting the old town, and the hotel is right next to Piazza Garibaldi and the airport shuttle bus stops there so it is a very convenient place to stay.
So basic hotel at Bari city center. Clean rooms but all old type hotel. Especially the elevator. Outside corridor sounds easily gets in the room. Bath and toilets so narrow and old. Not reccomend the front rooms, because gets sunshine all day, and rooms are very hot at night. Air conditioning so old, that means useless; we opened the window for fresh and cold air at nights. But a very very great staff with a great hospitality, so much helpful..
We were a group of 8, traveling by train and site seeing Bari. This hotel was a comfortable 20 minute walk from the train station, and just a few minutes walk into Old Town. The front desk staff were pleasant, helpful and informative. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. We loved Bari, and site seeing in the Apulia region. Nice hotel and we would certainly stay here again.
We had four double rooms and stayed for three nights. Having read previous reviews we considered cancelling, but the hotel was very good value for the centre, hotels in Bari are not cheap, Given our apprehension, we were pleasantly surprised, The hotel is a business hotel and so what you would expect. The hotel was spotless and the double rooms we had were a reasonable size, we were upgraded as we had booked single rooms and we were very grateful because the single rooms were very compact. As other reviews have pointed out the location is great , it is in a safe area and there are plenty of restaurants nearby What makes this hotel are the staff who are excellent. They were all so friendly and very helpful We all agreed we would be happy to stay here again if we visited Bari
Based on the location & amenities stated on the Hotel's web site we chose this hotel. There was no refrigerator, no in room safe, no iron or ironing board, no mini bar, room service was coffee & pastries only, coffee maker was a hot water kettle & we were told hotel does not supply coffee in the room, only one English tv station that was mostly a snowy picture most of the time. The elevator felt very unsafe. When we got into the room at around 10:30AM it was extremely hot in the room. When we checked to see if the AC was on we saw several towels under the wall AC unit. There was puddles of water on the floor along the entire length of the Windows & the bottom of the drapes were soaking wet. We called maintenance & when he opened the air vent grates there was so much mold, dust & dirt which was disgusting!!! We asked for another room but there was none available. The bathroom floor had rips & tears. Since we could not stay in the room to unpack because of the heat we decided to go out until the AC was fixed. Hotel assured us it would be fixed when we returned. We returned late in the afternoon. AC was fixed but still extremely hot. That was the best the hotel could do we were told!!! We looked for another hotel the next day but there were none available. In the many years we have traveled Best Western was one of our go to brands we stay at. This was suppose to be a great stay in Bari as my Mother's family came from the region & we wanted to do some family research! Bari was wonderful but we did not want to go back to the room. The heat problem caused us to change our plans as we could not stay in the room because it was too hot most of the day. Thank goodness the windows opened as we had them opened while sleeping. As a Platinum member upon arrival we are asked if we would like a welcome gift or points. The hotel said they knew nothing about giving us points but offered us bottled water!! The AC, rooms, elevator & hotel in general is in need of dire repairs. If there is a Board Of Health department in Bari, this hotel would be closed down!! We would not recommend this hotel.
We booked this hotel because of the location and price. We were apprehensive having read the reviews and to be honest if the other hotels in the centre had not been so expensive we would have probably cancelled our booking. We had 4 rooms and stayed 3 nights and all of us said we would be happy to stay in this hotel again. We had double rooms for single occupancy, the single rooms did look very compact. All the rooms were immaculate and spacious enough especially for a business hotel in a city centre What makes this hotel are the staff who are all friendly and so helpful. As other reviews have acknowledged the location is great as a base to explore Bari
I booked 11 nights, but left after 3 nights due to a death in my immediate family. I prepaid for the entire stay and booked at a non-refundable rate. Due to the circumstances, I thought I'd be able to work something out with the hotel even if it wasn't a full refund for the nights I didn't stay. I asked for a voucher to return and use the 8 nights I paid for at a later date. The response was not only no but also the hotel manager, Miriam, didn't even offer her condolences! She was just sorry that I booked a non-refundable that that couldn't be refunded or modified. I guess customer service doesn't matter and it's all about the money.
Even though the price per night here is pretty decent for a hotelbed in Bari; the value is bad. The positive parts of this hotel is location and staff. The negative parts are tiny rooms, only italian TV-channels (business hotel?!), pitiful breakfast in basement location and bad plumbing with my sink not draining (and they didn't fix it). This is not a good hotel. Not even for businesstravelers. This is more like a bad hostelquality without the community kitchen. Sorry to say. Stayed here two nights.
The hotel is nicely located and staff is very friendly. But the rest is terrible, expensive for very small rooms. The rooms are noisy so if you are a light sleeper don't expect to sleep long. The bathroom floor is covered with a foil which is partly teared or bulbby.
We recently had to stay in Bari due to a delayed flight. We contacted several hotels, many already booked up, but chose the Executive as the person on the desk was so helpful and nice. Best Westerns hotels are always basic, but clean and comfortable. However, what I like most about the Best Westerns, and the Executive in particular, is how friendly and helpful the staff always are. An easy stay.
Reception staff was not cordial, the hotel looks quite old inside. It may be comfortable for the position, but be aware parking is not really available as it is an external garage, not owned by the hotel. The room was not clean (on the floor and the bed), curtains were awfal, did not cover external light. Door lock system is just a classic key, not safe at all and especially, the room was very cold as the hot air condition was just old and not strong enough. The requested double bed room was actually two single beds below the sheets, very very uncomfortable matress. You are provided wih the TV remote at te checkin and you are requested to provide it back at check-out, in my opinion certainly not suitable for a three stars hotel.
We stayed in a hotel for 2 nights in a spacious room facing the street. A great advantage was fast WiFi in the room. No teapot in the room and poor breakfast didn't spoil our stay, though having even a small fridge would be desirable. The staff was friendly and helpful.
We stayed there for one night. The location of the hotel is good - easy access to old and new town. The hotel itself is acceptable, moderately clean, the beds were comfortable. However, we could hear everything that was going on in the hotel - your neighbours taking a shower, the staff getting ready with the breakfast in the morning, the noise from the street. The hotel is very close to the bus stop to/from the airport of both the public transport (bus 16) and the Tempesta service.
I stayed for one night at the Best Western Executive Business Hotel in Bari. The location is great for the old town as well as for restaurants, but from studying the maps online I mistakenly thought the hotel was walking distance from the train station which it isn't and you will definitely need to take a taxi if you have any luggage. You'll also need a taxi to get to the port, because although the map shows that the port is relatively near to the hotel's location, the entrance is actually a lot further away and again not very walkable with luggage. There is a lift to all floors and free wifi, but some rooms need to be accessed via 3-4 steps (so check this if you have any accessibility issues). The single room was quite small, but comfortable with tiled floors. There was also a TV, air-conditioning/heating and the room windows do open to let in fresh air. The bathroom was clean with a strong shower with plenty of hot water, towels and free toiletries. The hairdryer was also powerful enough for the longest hair. My only criticism of the room was that the extra blanket on the bed didn't look very clean, so I did not use it. Breakfast was a simple affair of breads, pastries, cereals, cheeses, yogurt, fruit and tea/coffee. Unfortunately the juices were not freshly squeezed and were just sugary water with flavouring. There is a small vending machine in the lobby (but it only takes coins) and there is a small newsagent next door. There are also a lot of restaurants along the road that the hotel is on, so finding somewhere for lunch or dinner was not a problem. The staff were exceptionally helpful and accommodating. Overall, a pleasant hotel, but room for improvement.
Hotels staff claimed they could not change central air conditioning because they were having a heatwave in October. My room was very stuffy. Worse yet you could not open a window to let outside air in. After two nights I checked out and move to another hotel. Staff seemed somewhat offended I left early
Nice rooms, nice breakfast and friendly staff. Michele is really attentive and sweet. Only suggestion is to update their AC as they hardly work and to alert patrons that the rooms with view are very hot and if they suffer the heat they should skip the view, which is no big deal, just the main street, and get a side room. Surrounded by shops and restaurants - across the street is the 4 Euros shuttle to the airport and very close to the historical center and the water front!
The location is great. A big room with a very nice balcony and view. The sheets were not changed and it was not nice at all. However I informed the reception and they were immediately changed. Reception staff was extremly kind and helpful.
Overall OK. Good sides: location was perfect - the area was fine and I felt safe (and in general, as I understood Bari is not the safest place - watch your bag and belongings). The hotel is very close to a lot of restaurants and about 15-20 mins on foot from the Bari railway central station, as well as very close to the old town. Really nice and helpful stuff, I liked all of them. Michaele at the breakfast was my favourite :) Room and bathroom were clean. Rooms were cleaned every day, and towels were changed. Negative sides: The biggest disappointment was the breakfast - the "restaurant" is like a very small room, with 6 small tables, no space at all. There was a lack of variety in the food - I cannot start my morning without eggs and vegetables. There weren't any vegetables, which I find strange - this is the first hotel I stay in, where the breakfast is so poor. We had only 3 nights in the hotel, so we are pretty happy with the value for the money we paid. But if you are planning a longer stay you might reconsider other options.
The hotel is good according to 3 stars hotels. I liked most the room which is big enough and modern, because the building is old (with strange elevator, small breakfast rooms but these do not matter). High speed wifi. Also the breakfast is good for a 3 stars hotel. The coffee is perfect and it is served by the charming Michelle. They call us a taxi to airport with fix price of 23 Euros. I disliked the pillows because are very thin. The street view room is a little bit noisy. Just few steps to the city centre it is a good choice especially for one or few nights.
I was allowed to checkin 10h and got all the Info required to move around. Close to shops, handy bus stops and old town, not from beach though. Small room and little stairway to climb with bags, but nice staff and Regular breakfast, served by smily waiter!
Good location, on the main street. Nice room, good wifi, working climatization, tasty breakfast. Kindly peoples on the reception that always help us with all the information that we needed. But we had the worst bed!! Normally in a double room they must have a double-bed, but we had a twin-bed, that were close one to another, so it was very uncomfortable because in the night they moved away.
Having travelled to Puglia for a couples holiday we spent one night on Bari as our flight got in late and it made more sense than travelling down. Seeing as our flight didn't arrive until 8.30pm we were looking for something cheap and central and this hotel was exactly that..and more! The photos on booking.com didn't do it justice, the rooms were bright, clean and airy with a substantially sized bathroom! The staff were so friendly and happy to accommodate any requests for local recommendations for food. We were within 5 mins walk of a few lovely restaurants and about 10 mins from the old town, which by the way needs to be seen at night as day simply doesn't do it justice! If your looking for luxury best western isn't the place for you but if you want central and clean for great value I really don't think you can go wrong. Would highly recommend and be happy to stay again.
This hotel is quite adequate for your short stay in Bari. The ladies at the desk were extremely kind and helpful, @Adriana mapped out the city and and helped plan the activities I wanted to do. She made various phone calls for me. The air conditioning worked perfectly and was a relief to the 36+ heat wave. The breakfast buffet was fine. The room decor was just fine, the WiFi is free, and there is a working safe in the room. It is very near to the old city. I had one small piece of luggage and found the walk from the train station very reasonable. I recommend you walk down via Sparano, there is a small park and lots of shops and lots of activity. It dead ends into the old city, so turn left on Corso Vittoria Emanuele II to arrive at the hotel. I walked to the beach Pane e Pomadoro, but it's quite far. I would choose another location if you intend to spend a lot of time at the beach, or take the bus from this hotel.
Stayed end of May for 3 nights - no problems with the staff and the accommodation. Actually being in the main part of the city I guess the hotel does not have much options for renovation and yes it is a little outdated in the common areas but the rooms are ok - quite big, nice beds functional bathroom, and perfect wifi. No fridge, basic but enough furniture. The staff is welcoming and Sr. Michele who serves breakfast makes the difference - you can only admire his enthusiasm and kindness. Location of the hotel is its main plus - on the main street in Bari, 10 min to the old town, same to the harbour and not more than 15 min to the railway stations. You have as well a stop of a bus going to the airport right opposite the hotel, but the train is the better option. Free maps and explanations available from the reception and you can always ask for a coffee or a tea which is made at no charge for you.
I have no idea where the good reviews are coming from: from disgruntled reception staff who can hardly open their mouth to give out any clear information to a breakfast room this is resembling a prison canteen, all within a building and covered in a design that was maybe up-to-date 40 years ago, this hotel just cries out for a renovation, face-list and change of management. With one exception: the old man serving the breakfast is a kind and hospitable character.
We were staying in Bari for only a 2 days, quick birthday present. Best Western was a great place to stay. The room was as presented on the photos, bathroom and shower clean and tidy. We had only a bit shortage of hot water after a long shower, but it happens :) Breakfast was nice and enough, but exploring the nearby caffees and locals are much more fun.
Standard modernistic hotel of the Best Western chain. Good location, only 10-15 minute walk from Old Town and harbor. Both Miriam and Anna on reception were very professional, helpful and efficient. Just a normal hotel, nothing special. negatives: no fridge in room, safe did not work, mattress kept sliding off box spring, room door left ajar by cleaners one day, Continental breakfast only average.
We spent three nights here and were totally impressed with this hotel. The staff is professional, knowledgeable about Bari, helpful and friendly. The reception is manned 24 hours and whenever we came in there was a smiling face to greet us. The gentleman in the breakfast room is a real jewel. His cheerfulness - and flourish preparing and pouring coffee - makes the start of every day special. The room was a standard room, but it was very clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable and bathroom was modern with a good shower head and lots of hot water. Excellent WiFi throughout our stay. We faced the street and had no problem with street noise, even sleeping with the big windows open. The location of the hotel was perfect for us. We were away from the "crowds", but close enough to get anywhere on foot. We traveled to Bari on the train and the station was a 10 minute walk from the hotel. We took day trips by rail from Bari, so again the station was an easy walk. The people at reception always, very kindly, printed schedules for us so we always had lots of options in hand. When we Bari, the shuttle bus to the airport stops across the street on the corner. Hotel staff has all the information. For sightseeing, the Old City is at most 10 minutes away, and again the front desk has all the information and maps you need to find the main attractions. Their restaurant recommendations were perfect for us. Again, we loved the hotel and commend the very efficient staff.
The room was ok, big enough, The view was nice, although it was a little noisy from the street. The hotel staff was very, very nice. Breakfast was good, varied enough, not extraordinary, but more then mediem. Very good location, 10 minutes walk from the old city and 12-15 minutes walk from the train station. Wifi was working great in the room on the 6th floor. We traveled with our baby (6 months old) and slept with him in the double bed.
Location is great and Hotel although small is comfortable and clean. I was impressed by the service of the staff working at this hotel, they did everything to make us feel at home, especially Miriam at the reception.
We stayed here for one night, however we arrived early - and were greeted so nicely by Miriam and another young lady on the desk. We needed to wait, but were offered drinks etc - however they stored our bags and we could go for a walk. This hotel is so close to the old town - excellent position. We were happy with our room - top floor and a balcony butting up against the gorgeous Palace next door. The Wifi was fine, the aircon needs to be updated probably, but we were more than content with our stay, and thank you Miriam and your Reception desk lady partner, for the advice you gave us on restaurants, shopping and sightseeing, and also for the iron and ironing board, and we also enjoyed the kind man who serves the coffee etc. at breakfast. We needed to store our bags again till 6pm on our departure night, as we were catching the overnight ferry from Bari to Dubrovnik - again the reception staff helped here again, organising the taxi to drop us off exactly where we wanted.
this is a nice and clean hotel 5 min walking to the old town. the rooms are nice, bed is comfortable, bathroom is big and clean. the staff was very nice and welcoming. to my surprise breakfast was offered very early in the morning (5:30 already) which is very convenient for early travels like ours. i recommend this hotel :)
Although the location is good AND the staff was willing, energetic and capable - the place is a dump! Breakfast (and staff) were very good, as were the lobby staff - but the room was tired and just barely adequate. Although it was fall and the weather was comfortable, the air conditioning was weak and might be a consideration during the summer.
Perfect located in central Bari, at walking distance from railway station (15 minutes), Old Bari (Bari Vecchia), Cathedral, St Nicholas and castle. Room with a large window overlooking the main road, clean bathroom. Buffet breakfast. A good choice
