    « Noisy »

I stayed overnight in a downstairs room, while the room was comfortable enough, I could hear the people above me walking around. The motel is well located within walking distance to many eating places.

Comfy bed, delicious breakfast and great location in the heart of Ballarat. Walking distance to pubs, restaurants and cinema. Lovely staff and clean, comfortable room with great facilities. Would stay again!

« Time for an Upgrade »

Growing up in country Victoria in the 60s & 70s, I used to see this motel advertised on TV so when it came up in my search for accommodation in Ballarat, I assumed it would have been renovated, possibly more than once in the intervening 40 plus years. Well, you know what they say about assume ? it certainly did make an you know what out of me. This motel isn't just tired, it's exhausted. First, the good ? the staff were very nice, efficient and professional. The motel is quit central and conveniently located. The towels supplied were of a decent size and quality & the shower pressure was really good. The bad ? Scuffed walls, chipped paint and chipped furniture. The room was quit noisy and light from outside same in around the edges of the curtains. The bathroom had a very funky, musky smell. I can only guess that there is a water leak in the walls somewhere. Whilst it appeared to be clean, when a place is as run down and knocked around as this one, it just doesn't feel clean, no matter how hard they try. I certainly wouldn't choose to return.

    « A nice sleep »

The room was plain and that's AOK. The sleep was excellent. Please, please get rid of the individual sheets for toilet paper and get rolls of toilet paper! Don't miss the breakfast. The staff running it is terrific -- she's worth the visit just to chat with her! Make the morning start off well!

« Value for money & perfect location »

From the moment we arrived we experienced lovely friendly & accommodating staff. The room was comfortable, clean & quiet. The restaurant was lovely & the meals excellent. The breakfast was fantastic value if you enjoy a good start to the day. Perfect location close to all attractions.

    « Simple slight disappointed »

Firstly our stay was good on check in the young man that greeted us was lovely and very helpful when we discussed our plans for the weekend he helped us before we could even ask for help definetly a people person. Dinner in the resturant was okay probley wouldn't go back but it was ok for us two who couldn't decide where to go and it was getting late. Our room Was okay not alot of power points ( issues we are young and two girls lol technology savvy hair straighteners, phones ect) we managed the bathroom very outdated but it did the job 10points for water pressure nothing worse then a crappy shower. There was a resident cricket in our room who tried to get into my bed!! Lucky for me I'm from the country and managed to kill him before he made any moves. The down side... The pool was out of order and when it was hot when we got there 40deg at 7:15pm! We where looking for a dip in that pool after a long drive after work! But the pool was out of order in the middle of summer!! :( As for breakfast 10/10! The chef lady who was on was brilliant could not do any more for us and my friend was gluten free she went out of her way to help us and we were disappointed we didn't go back on our last morning very chatty and made us feel super welcome breakfast was definetly worth the $20! And was good foundations for our day at a hens party.
