"Quirky not a Best Western. Hair bed! "
racheld747, 23 Octobre 2021

Quirky curious, I would not call it a Best Western. Arrived on the weekend slightly later. Had to walk up the street to check in at a bar run by the adjacent hotel, which I guess owns this place too. Signs were only in German that I recall, not great if it advertises many languages are spoken. Dark lobby. Very dark. Like an abandoned hotel. The carpets on the forth and fifth floor look dirty. The room was ok, but not the same quality I get from best western in the USA at all. Room was cold, the heater was really dirty. Dust was everywhere and we found hairs in the bed. Long ones ,short ones, we debated if it was dog hair or pubic hair. Not sure which. Didn't look like arm hair. No one to call to get new sheets except the bar tender far away. It's also not multilingual here, so those other languages good luck on that. Yes there is free parking but if you arrive after 7 you will be hard pressed to find a spot. It's also not close to the entrance so you'll have to pull your car around to check out.

"Great Stay & Hospitality Experience"
Julieswiss2014, 23 Février 2020

We booked over the internet for one night stay with breakfast and 3-hour pass for Solima Wellness & Spa Centre (pools only). We were accommodated in a large room with a balcony, overlooking the park surroundings. The room has all the amenities, including an espresso machine and a good size bathroom. Staff throughout our stay are all friendly, accommodating and professional. We had a drink in their bar, very nicely decorated as well the breakfast buffet is wonderfully full of local products and always replenished. The hotel provides a free car park and free high-speed WiFi. Highly recommended.

"Grand old hotel, rooms recently renovated, super staff."
ExpatExpertGermany, 12 Février 2020

The Sure Hotel in Bad Dürrheim is a grand old hotel making a comeback. It's surrounded by parks, located at one end of the pedestrian zone of the town. All bedrooms plus the dining room have been recently renovated - the lobby and the public rooms in the flat-roofed addition still have a 1970's feel, but bright and spotlessly clean. The staff is very friendly, accommodating and multi-lingual. Rooms are large. I stayed in a huge single, and also had a glimpse at the size of a double room which is truly grand. Bathrooms still 1970s but with updated lighting. Internet is free and fast - could stream Netflix no problem. For fans of the past - or anyone needing an excellent room at a reasonable price - this hotel is a great choice.

"Dated, lovely location"
BexterDarwen, 11 Octobre 2019

Friendly staff, lovely location. Rooms with a balcony, great! Otherwise, this place is desperate for an upgrade. It's all very dated. Breakfast was reasonable (and included in room rate), some choice of fruit, cereal, hot items - scrambled eggs (very good), frikadelle, bacon, boiled eggs). Coffee machine was good. Car park is a little way from the hotel around the back so be sure to drop bags off first. Lovely little town with choice of restaurants

"Nice Stay"
gozitano73, 24 Juillet 2019

We booked a night during our trip and where not disappointed. Friendly staff and good location. Hotel building needs a bit of an upgrade, room was clean and OK. Little smell of smoke (cigarette), balcony needs better cleaning. A big surprise was the voucher that we got to the thermal bath. After a long day on the motorbike it was a perfect treat. Thank you for that.

"Peaceful, pleasant hotel."
francesh352, 19 Juin 2019

We found this hotel, located on the edge of a park very pleasant indeed. The staff were friendly and welcoming and spoke excellent English which was a bonus for us as our German is very poor, we know a few basic phrases. We had a spacious room with balcony overlooking the park. There was plenty of hanging space and shelves so that our clothes and bags were out of the way. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was very powerful. Yes the room furniture is a little dated but that hardly detracts from the comfort and tranquility. Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room is spacious with lots of tables. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance and the baths are about 100 metres away. A perfect base for exploring the Black Forest.

"Dated"
Irene G, 15 Juin 2019

We stayed here with friends for 3 nights. The hotel is desperately in need of a face lift, everything is totally dated, it really has a lot of potential to be a first class hotel if the owners would just invest in it. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities provided. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom but if like me you are only 5 foot tall you will only be able to see the top of your head in the mirror, oh and there was no concentrator on the end of the dryer so styling my hair was impossible. I did ask at receptionist if they had a spare hairdryer to allow me to try my hair at the mirror in the bedroom but that was a no. Apart from that the shower was good with plenty hot water. Breakfast was the usual continental style which was fine. In the evening there is a bar on the first floor with a very pleasant barman. Check in and check out went smoothly. All in all our stay was ok but the dated ambiance let the hotel down a bit.

"As time goes by... "
newmod, 23 Mai 2019

Pretty centrally in Bad Dürrheim, 2 min away from Rathausplatz, the 3 stars "Soleo am Park" by Best Western appears to be an artefact of the 70ies. While the interior does not clearly provides a statement of style, the bathroom definitely shows the 70ies charm. The staff is very friendly and overall cleaning seems to work mostly. Breakfast selection is acceptable, quality 3 stars compatible. Price benefit level is not really balanced in favor of the guests. Overall I can recommend this hotel for one night. However, the price level seems to be too high.

"Excellent value for money in beautiful environment"
Traveller_Oldie, 25 Avril 2018

We stayed in this hotel for some days for a workshop. Very good hotel, with nice rooms and upgraded bathrooms. Breakfast is served in hotel and lunch ina central eating location just a short walk away. Basic conference rooms, but functional. Generally a good experience.

"Hotel only ok, massage was excellent."
Martin N, 18 Avril 2018

I stayed in this hotel last night (17th April) and it was acceptable. I could not find too much to complain about. But I could also not find too much to remember the hotel by either. The hotel is clean but the decor is a bit dated. Also one of the things that annoyed me slightly was that my room was "attached" to another room by a door, this was locked of course. However I could hear everything. There was a person in the room who was constantly coughing etc. This was annoying. I would imagine if I was watching TV etc then I would have annoyed them also if the volume was up. There is also no pool or gym on site in the hotel. You need to walk a few mins to a near by gym/pool. The food in the bar is only soups and pizzas, not very memorable either. I did get a massage from Kristine in the Wellness center and it was very relaxing. I would highly recommend. The staff in general were also very friendly and the hotel location is also excellent. It is very central.

"Drab decor, no wifi, no double beds"
Brooklynite_Abroad, 10 Décembre 2017

The setting: You are a few hundred meters (5min) walking distance from the main entrance of the Solemar. The hotel has free parking around and to the back of the property, marked on small placards which are easily missed if arriving at night. The lobby was large space with a reception desk. There was complimentary fruit flavored water in the lobby, and a restaurant above the lobby space. After checking in, we were given discount cards for entrance to the Solemar, but ended up being of no use to us as we went after 7pm, for the discount admission; you can't combine discounts there. Our first room was a disappointing little room at the far end of the first floor. We needed a double bed, not two singles, so the front desk reassigned to a large room on the third floor, unfortunately, it also had two twins and not a double, which I made sure to select as the option when I booked the room. The décor in the lobby, the rooms and the restaurant was badly dated, replete with popcorn ceilings and walls, and odd animal print carpeting. It felt like we walked into an 80s era East German sanitarium. The room: Our second room on the third floor was large and spacious. It lacked a temperature control panel and a safe, but had a flat panel TV with limited channels. Wifi did not work in the room at all, and worked sporadically in the lobby and restaurant. The twin beds pushed together always came apart during the night. The balcony off the room was a nice touch. The bathroom was small without amenities and the shower had decent water pressure. There was a complimentary tea/coffee maker in the room. I needed to ask the front desk a question, yet every time I dialed the front desk extension, the call went to an announcement saying the front desk is busy, even though there were multiple employees working at the front desk. The food: The complimentary breakfast buffet was basic but satisfying. There was an egg and sausage station, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurts, fruit, pastries, juices and coffee/tea. The restaurant is not open in the evenings, but the small bar area is. If you are hungry for a snack, there are some soups and pizzas on offer. All in all, I didn't like this hotel at all, but for a cheap overnight it serves its purpose. Lack of wifi in a western hotel chain, in Germany is unacceptable!

"Some things are just strange"
Wala69, 29 Août 2017

The hotel is located close to the Kurpark which is the local park and within walking distance of downtown. Check in is the first strange thing as for some reason all rooms are magically done at 3 PM. When you get there before that, the rooms are not ready. There are two doors to the rooms as this is the old monastery in town. The hallways are long and dark and make you feel like you are in a US prison (we had a cop traveling with us who was reminded of that) The rooms themselves are small but have everything you need and they are clean which is the major point. Staff is friendly but follows German rules which makes them a bit stiff. Breakfast is good and comes as a buffet.

"Bad Durrheim"
WilliamS2415, 21 Juillet 2017

Great location (best in town or region) exceptional staff and easy walk to all facilities. Great place to relax, quiet surroundings, good base to explore the Black Forrest region or other locations in Germany, one of the best laid out towns in Germany.

"A great visit in a good hotel"
Jollyroger73, 31 Mai 2017

I visited this hotel as a stopover for a business trip. The rooms are well presented and clean. My room had a balcony that allowed me to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. There is a great modernisation gap in many respects, in comparison to other hotels. First, notably, were the double doors to the room, which I've never seen before (or understands why. Secondly, the use of a traditional key, bulky and cumbersome compared with the modern credit card style. The room was clean and functional with no frills. My only complaint was the inability for the hotel to provide a decent iron and ironing board. I ended having to use a very basic non-steam iron and a small table covered by a towel!? The local area is superb with lots of bars and restaurants. Worth a vis

"Calm & clean"
caroch1972, 29 Juillet 2015

Large and modern bedroom. Small and old fashioned bathroom (shower only). Nice balcony. No sound to be heard from other rooms, even if the hotel was quite full. Very good breakfast. No restaurant, a bar is there, but without Terrasse. Only one small and slow lift.

"Excellent"
Braminfunland, 23 Juin 2015

Modern hotel, wonderful rooms, excellent beds, modern and spacious bathroom, excellent dog service, spotlessly clean every day, huge breakfast with lots of healthy alternatives, located in heart of the city

"Close to the spa, good team, quiet, not completely renovated"
nieves67, 05 Février 2015

Realy only one minute to walk to the wellness and park. Staff was friendly helpfull, parking is one minute to walk but for free. Our room (4rd florr) on the forest side was probably not renovated looked really old style had cheap furniture. Bathroom was very small not really clean and strange old style. The sigle lift is small tired and slow. Breakfest is as room price average. Our global feeling was comming to an old east germany hotel. By reading comments we understand that they have larger and renovated rooms ask for these ones.

"Nothing wrong with the rooms.. but."
ThomasDahl, 27 Janvier 2015

This is a very basic Best Western. The rooms and decor looks like it was built in about 1970. Not run down exactly, but certainly dated. The Breakfast and late night bar are fine and good. I would stay again.

"Good location and price"
neostar, 09 Décembre 2014

I was offered a room at 5th floor with a nice view. Hotel is located very close to Swiss border and the price with breakfast included is very good. Ofcource furniture is not up to date, but breakfast was good - normal German breakfast.
