"A nice hotel on the quiet street with good access to Athens"
Middle_age_couple, 21 Mars 2024

We have just returned from a trip to Athens, planned for the March break of our Grandson, and we chose the Best Western Plus Embassy Hotel for the stay in the city. We must say, the hotel did not disappoint us. It is located on the unassuming quiet street very close to different transit means, including two subway stations (8-10 minutes walking distance) and buses (three minutes) - and that helps reaching all important attractions without delays. Those who are interested in visiting the Lykabettus Hill, need no more than a 20-25 min walk to the Funicular to the top. One may find good restaurants and tavernas in the vicinity of the hotel; we may recommend the Jonah's Restaurant, a fine dining extablishment. The Hotel is very well maintained, all amenities are in very good working conditions. The rooms are very comfortable - and we enjoyed good and clean beds. One gets a fridge and a safe in the room; also, there are rooms with balconies (we had such a room). The room provides enough outlets; perhaps, the owners may think about installing outlets with UCB connectors. The breakfast is VERY good and filling; one might have only one meal until the dinner time! All food is fresh and well presented; the service is quick and unobtrusive. And the final word is about one member of the Hotel's staff - Mrs.Christina Vetta. Always willing to help, to explain and clarify, to guide fellow travellers. Christina was extremely friendly and courteous to all visitors, so it was not just about us. We wish Christina to stay that amazing person who greeted us in the evening of our arrival. She is the best!

"Ok stay, excellent staff and decent breakfast "
Shishir1921, 29 Décembre 2023

Positive - excellent location - airport bus stop is about 5 mins walk - Metro connection is about 10 mins walk to city center - Several restaurants, takeaway, supermarkets nearby - Excellent staff and very helpful - Bathrobes, toiletries, slippers are provided - Decent breakfast - Decent balcony Things for improvement - Very old fashioned room, requires refurbishment. - Balcony is ok, all you can see is a construction building - Very noisy in the morning due to the construction work in front building - The lifts are very tiny - The carpets look very old - I feel the hotel is pricey for the quality of the room/stay

"overall good"
Host29, 17 Décembre 2023

Overall good. Clean and spacious rooms (but rooms, especially in bathroom area should be renovated). What a pity the moquette in the aisles. Very good service. Breakfast quite poor. Right if price is right.

"Good location for a walker!"
lamphs, 13 Décembre 2023

Stayed here for two nights. Nothing to criticize. I'll note that while the breakfast was OK, the breakfast room is a bit small and you can be very close to your neighbor's table. If you like privacy, eat early when its not busy. The location was good for me as I am a walker, and walking from the property to Athen's main sites was very doable for me (noting that this stay was in November). My goal for the trip was to use public transportation as much as possible. I took the Metro from the airport to the Ambelokipi station. No transfers involved. But it is a bit of a walk with luggage as the sidewalks are a bit narrow and uneven. If I did it again, I'd go to the Music Hall station, a bit more of a walk, but all of the sidewalks are wide and easily manageable.

"A nice place to stay"
Nank135, 30 Octobre 2023

Very nice place to stay in Athens, close to Embassy if you need to go there. We only stayed one 1 night before we flew to Santorini, but it was clean and all employees were extremely nice to us! They have breakfast included .

"Three nights in Athens"
ANGELO V, 26 Octobre 2023

Best Western Plus Embassy Hotel is mid-way between the metro stations of Ambelokipi and Megaro Moussikis, on metro line 3, connecting Athens International Airport to the city centre. Both metro stations can be reached in 7-8 minutes walking from the hotel. The four points I'm giving this hotel are an average between the three points for the room, and the five points for service: - my room was very good and big, with a comfortable bed and a good bathroom, but the room was quite dark and electric lights were needed also during the day. Air conditioning was efficient but noisy, and insulation from outside noise was not good. Luckily enough the hotel is located on a side street with little traffic, so noise from outside was a problem just on early morning, when the works started in the building opposite the hotel. Wi-fi was often very slow and sometimes not available. - Service was very good: staff were efficient and helpful, and breakfast was very good with several choices available.

"Ideal and Convenient Hotel"
evangelosk747, 29 Novembre 2022

Being a hotelier myself I needed a good hotel whilst attending the Tourism Exhibition. This hotel was just right, nicely priced and between the two metro stations, it ticked all the boxes. Friendly staff, and a great breakfast to start the day was great. The room was big, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was also of a large size. Very clean, all in all we were very happy.

"Excellent hotel in Athen's"
caroleandersencox, 15 Octobre 2022

This was a gem of a hotel in busy. Athens. Very quiet on a beautiful street with many trees. Great service from staff. A delicious breakfast with selections from an American Breakfast to a variety of Greek selections. It was very nice!

"Thanks Christine!"
The_Egyptian_Couple, 20 Août 2022

We stayed there for a week while in Athens. Let's start by saying that Christine, the receptionist, was the most helpful and welcoming receptionist ever! Otherwise, the hotel has an excellent location, the rooms are clean and breakfast was ok. Great value for money!

"Short trip"
Δέσποινα Κ, 06 Août 2022

We had a nice staying at the hotel , located in a quiet street , though almost at the center of Athens. Nice room , friendly and polite stuff .I revommend it either for business trip or for a short holiday.

"Good hotel "
Mackiemackie74, 07 Juillet 2022

Stayed because the brand bwh Very good hotel, rooms were lovely and cozy The personnel smiling and helpful Breeakfast tasty and good quality products Unfortunately far from city centre had to take a taxi but the area has quite a lot of bars to have a beer or two

"Recommended for low-key business travel"
JodiAnne1, 09 Juin 2022

This hotel is well-located near Mavrili Square with lovely coffee spots, bakeries and restaurants nearby. It is in walking distance of the Conference Centre and the opera house. It is between 2 metro stations and right on the bus route. It is on a beautifully quiet side street. The location is also fantastic for sight-seeing and experiencing Athens as it is 2 metro stops from Syntagma, the main square. The hotel is simple and the rooms are clean. The curtains are block-out. It is really best for business people and those wanting a practical place to sleep and no more. The rooms are well-sized. Wifi isn't great, and neither is breakfast, but both are included. The rooms are air-conditioned but not individually controllable from each room. Bedding and pillows could be improved. Front desk service is superb, personal and with a smile. The hotel does what it needs to do but it is certainly not special or worth remembering. Value-for-money.

"Boutique Hotel feel"
X7087SUjoans, 22 Mai 2022

The hotel was in a very good location and on a quiet street. There were excellent restaurants near and The Acropolis was 30 minute walk away. The staff was excellent and helpful, the rooms spacious, with breakfast included. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Great Hotel"
Karen M J, 26 Mars 2022

There are few brands we recognized in Athens, but we saw this Best Western Plus so we took a chance. The location was good for us. Safe neighborhood. They have parking which is a premium in Athens. We were allowed to leave our car in the car park while we did a few more things. The staff is very helpful and kind. We enjoyed it so much that we rebooked for our last night when we return to Athens.

"Best Value for Money"
Sakilkhanbirmingham, 11 Mars 2022

I stayed for 4 Nights with family during March 2022. I experienced a Very good, help full and kind staff members. Reception, Breakfast, Room service and cleaner staff all are very professional. I am frequent traveler and know hotels in side out. 24 Hour reception service was actively available. With 4 star hotel and given good standard and services I think the all over experience is exceeding expectations. Will surely stay there again.

"Bad staff service especially reception staff"
nktsik, 09 Juillet 2021

Bad reception staff services they charged me twice the cost of the room I still cannot take my money back a terrible communication with the manager of the hotel to solve my problem I still wait to find a solution with the bank and the hotel because of a mistake of the reception staff

"Surprise property near American Embassy"
Timmescon, 30 Mai 2021

Great location, wonderful room with 2 balconies, a/c, terrific room service and staff. Great location in Athens. Location near stunning forest, close to cafes, main roads and a “downhill” 30 minute walk to Syntagma Square.

"expert/ texhnocrat"
jjosephides, 03 Mars 2020

The service I have experienced was excellent. The location was very convenient, and the persons at the reception very helpful and polite, always ready to give me any information I required. Also the room was quiet, clean with nice decorations.

"good value for money"
crazy c, 29 Décembre 2019

small, with character, friendly staff. They were gracious to let me check in early with no added cost. Nice location on the back of Mavili sq. My room on the 5th floor at the back of the hotel had a nice balcony, so it was really quiet and I had a good sleep. Nice furniture. On the down side the bathroom sink was low, the bathroom could use a renovation and the breakfast was mediocre. But all in all a decent solution and good value for money.

"Okay hotel"
ajanae, 15 Décembre 2019

Its a solid 3 star hotel. Its nice and clean but nothing extravagant. The breakfast buffet is good though. The best thing about the hotel is its location. The city of Athens is walkable, but the hotel is in close proximity to anything you may need.

"Nice hotel, great service"
BusTravVie, 04 Octobre 2019

It is a nice hotel, quite close to a subway station (as well as the US embassy and the operahouse of Athens), not far away from the Acropolis. I experienced very friendly and helpful personnel in the hotel, got upgraded to a nice room with balkony at the top of the hotel (ok, that was luck). Breakfast in the hotel is good. There is also a fitness room in the hotel, which is quite small but equipped with a treadmill some dumbbells and a multi-purpose fitness unit - more than sufficient for a hotel this size.

"Older hotel "
Key6174, 14 Septembre 2019

Budget hotel, older hotel, however staff are amazing helpful and friendly. Showers are weird, elevator is weird, ac wasn't really powerful but again staff were attentive and very patient. I would stay here again if in Athens and needed a budget hotel.

"Good experience"
Kavita0909n, 08 Juillet 2019

It was an airport transfer. I had a very short stay but it was comfortable and peaceful. Breakfast was good. Food quality was very good. The behavior of the staff was good. Had an overall good experience.

"Could of been better"
laurenehalt, 13 Juin 2019

So the lobby and floors smell like smoke, was not prepared for this...our room was non smoking but you step out of room and all you smell is smoke. Breakfast was good but wish we would of been alerted to the smoking allowed within the hotel.

"Great place to stay"
Sheila C, 07 Juin 2019

My sister and I spent 2 nights when we first arrived in Greece. Within walking distance of the Metro and we were able to get into our room early. The employees at the front desk were very helpful (helped arrange a complicated tour for our group) and the breakfast was huge and very good.

"Comfortable one night stay"
Sewpersads, 14 Avril 2019

Needed a quick one night stay in Athens whilst travelling from Doha to Thessoliniki. Booked the night before and Mr Yannis Katsaros took my call and efficiently made the reservation and confirmed by mail. Special Room rate 85 Euros. Arrived at 22h30 after catching a public bus from the airport (Line X95 for 6 EUROS). Check in was quick and efficient and booked into Room 51. Room was spacious and the bed was really comfortable. Went to Bed at 00h00 after a quick dinner and was up at 03h00 to catch a 06h00 flight. This hotel met my expectation for a short stay and will recommend it to Guests.

"Average stay"
Odyssey36328523399, 16 Mars 2019

A very average hotel - got a room at 7th fl. but the lift works only till 6th. Only one (non-vegetarian) sandwich is available from hotel restaurant (I am vegetarian). The bath tub could not hold the water and the shower did not have pressure.

"Could do better"
lukeo52, 17 Décembre 2018

First I have to say this hotel had one of the best beds I have ever slept in. The room was large and comfortable. However the bathroom although large could do with a refit. The bath was small and the shower curtain to close. Removing the bath and having a large walk-in shower would be a huge improvement. Annoyingly both the plug in the sink and bath did not retain the water. The sachets of tea and coffee were insufficient for 2 people. Breakfast was ok, nice to have warm plates for a change. It would also have been nice to have a choice of coffee, espresso is my choice and not available. Filter only. The staff we spoke to were helpful and efficient. In my opinion, slightly overpriced.

"Good value"
LiverpoolMo, 27 Octobre 2018

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst sight-seeing. Hidden away down a side street which meant it was nice and quiet. Good sized, comfortable room and bathroom. Kettle provided in room which was appreciated (but not many teabags or any milk - so bring your own). Plenty to choose from at breakfast. Very pleasant staff. 5 min walk to metro station (10 if pulling luggage along uneven pavement!) and only a handful of stops from central locations). One of our better city centre choices at a reasonable price.

"Nice hotel for business"
feyskens, 07 Septembre 2018

I stayed at this hotel while attending a Congress. The place is ideal as it is close to the Congress facilities. Rooms are clean and acceptable except for the bathroom that is old and needs to be pimped. The breakfast is good. The staff is friendly. I wouldn't stay there for pleasure but for business I find it acceptable.

"Good value for money"
576priyankaa, 06 Août 2018

It's a nice hotel close to city center and a direct bus from airport which drops you 3 min walk distance from the hotel. The lift is very small and can't accomodate more then 2 people with no luggage. The hotel staff is very helpful and rooms are clean. The breakfast room is very clumsy with chairs blocking each other. Overall it's a good hotel. We stayed here for 5 nights and we are very satisfied with the stay. No complains. It's close to everything, food joints , metro.

"Convenient location - good value for money"
Sirisha G, 06 Août 2018

We needed a room that slept 3 people. This hotel was able to cater for it with an additional single bed in the room. The room was spacious and so what the bathroom - however the shower was not impressive and a shower curtain was in the bath tub. The breakfast was good with a nice variety of treats. The hotel is a bit old and is in need of a revamp. Other than that it was a good stay

"Great location, average hotel similar to B&B"
anuphariharan, 20 Juillet 2018

We expected something more but this was fine. The rooms were clean, location is near the embassy, in between two metro stations and 10 mins away from Syntagma. That helped. We were four including two kids and expected a larger room. The room had an extra cot which was a make-shift which made it difficult for the kid. Expected some empathy. So if you are a family of 4 then make sure you get the appropriate room which can accommodate 4 comfortably lest it ends up as a compromise.

"Good Location, Helpful Staff"
Tavelforfun, 15 Juillet 2018

Booked this property for four nights. We were upgraded to Jr Suit. The room was spacious with all basic bfacility. The hotel is located in a side lane but close to metro and bus stand. Airport Bus X95 stops hardly 200m away. Neighbourhood is having lots of dining and takeaway options. WiFi was good. The staff at the front desk was very helpful. There is no restaurant or bar. However, breakfast was served. The breakfast was good and the staff serving it was very helpful.

"Plus is for service and excellence"
PHM_Law, 18 Juin 2018

Great location close to metro and lively neighborhood of restaurants, shops and takeaways. Rooms and bathrooms are massive. Service is amazing - again Greek hospitality should be noted the world over. We had a late flight out but the front desk were so accommodating that they let us check out at 14h00 (instead of 12h00) and kept our luggage for us while we went out exploring. The bus stop and metro are close to the hotel. 1 block away is the bus stop for X95 bus that takes you straight to the airport.

"Good location for Megaron, average hotel"
rliem, 18 Mai 2018

for conference in Athens and looked for a place near Megaron. for a 4 star hotel the facility is average, comparing 2-3 star hotels. small lobby, old building, outdated interior. sound insulation is poor. rooms are big enough and clean, but bathroom is also outdated and also some rust at metal parts. breakfast is served, but variety is not big. Staff is very friendly and helpful, price is fair

"Decent hotel, rather basic but very clean"
Chiara M, 08 Mai 2018

The hotel was rather basic and the breakfast was standard (not a huge choice and the same selection every day). The location was also not the most convenient - it was exactly in the middle of two metro stations (Ambelokipi and Megaro Moussikis), i.e. 10 minutes walking. Not the end of the world but when the temperature is 30+ degrees you would happily do without... Having said this, the hotel was very clean and well kept and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and the bed was comfortable. Despite the metro, taxi transportation is in any case very cheap in Athens and therefore an easy alternative. The location is also very close to downtown Athens without having the downtown chaos and prices. There were some good dinner options (tavernas, etc) close by.

"Very happy with my choice of this hotel"
Alinae473, 27 Avril 2018

Comfortable beds, nice rooms, excellent breakfast, good location (felt mostly safe around the area), close to two metro stations (a 7 minute walk to each), quiet, very helpful staff - booked an excursion for us with a travel agency, had a small problem with the water in our room - got an upgrade to a suite. Loved the permissive breakfast hours - 7:30 to 10.30. All in all a very good stay. Would definitely recommend.

"Big and Modern Room"
Eric C, 16 Février 2018

The room is big and modern, no view, near ambelokipe station, breakfast not ok, but waiter is friendly. Staff are also friendly, a little bit far from the center. Bath room is not properly clean when I check in, bathroom is dirty

"A Vfm quite stay at the heart of the city"
spygr, 01 Janvier 2018

A nice small hotel next to 2 major metro stations and only 10min away from Syntagma Square. Private parking, very quiet, nice and helpful staff. The breakfast was very good with a big variety and we were served even though we arrived at the closure. Free and very good Wifi everywhere at the hotel. The room at the 7th floor was spacious, clean with all necessary amenities. The prices are what we call value for money for a 4 star hotel that close to the centre and well reserved as this one.

"VERY HOT!"
Michelle G, 30 Décembre 2017

It is not often that I write a bad review.. This hotel was the worst place I have stayed in a very long time. I needed a room for the night before and early morning flight. We checked in and the room was 27 degrees...SUPER HOT..the room got up to 29 degrees after 1 hour. They has no fans and the front desk clerk assured me that, 1. There are no other rooms and 2. All the rooms were the same temperature. Needless to say..with a 5 year old sweating while sleeping we checked out (NO REFUND) and found another hotel. Very bad customer service. Do not stay here in the summer.

"Comfortable and welcoming"
Steve D, 14 Décembre 2017

Better than the average Best Western hotel, the Embassy is tucked away in a side street, but reasonably centrally located with a metro station, local shops and tavernas nearby. The hotel is neither modern nor quaintly old-fashioned, but very comfortably furnished and with all the facilities required for a short stay. The friendliness and helpfullness of the staff is noteworthy, English is spoken and check-in and check-out are quick and simple. There is no restaurant at the hotel, only a breakfast room, but the receptionist will gladly order in from a variety of local fast-food providers or direct you to a local eatery. Breakfast is more than sufficient. Rooms are well ventilated with comfortable beds, TV with a variety of international channels, free wi-fi and a well-stocked mini-bar. More than adequate for the business visitor.

"Good location"
585Petr, 04 Octobre 2017

I booked this hotel solely due to close distance to Megaron Athens International Conference Centre, which is just couple minutes to walk, the same to the nearest metro station. In spite of very busy street nearby, the area was very quiet and also safe (US embassy nearby). Otherwise nothing special about this hotel. Unfortunately I experienced the same problem with smell of smoke on the 5th floor, in the room and also coming from a/c, as described in other references. Staff friendly and helpful to arrange early breakfast, but needs to be aware of this problem.

"It's OK but not a 4**** hotel"
Uljana S, 29 Septembre 2017

We attended a conference in Megaro centre, so the location of hotel was very good - 6-7min walk, the subway station is very close as well. Noisy streets are over corner, especially if you ask for the room looking at the yard. The hotel's reception area pictures are truth but the room and bathroom need retouch, looking tired and worned. There are s all amenities you may need in a bathroom but towels were very old.. Breakfast is ok, nothing outstanding and definetely not 4****.. I can not get the idea why shall i need a waiter to poor coffee into my cup - i want to have more milk and less coffee.. Do they want to controll the drinks or this is a sign of courtesy in Greece - i don't know. The staff is friendly, smiling and helpful, but they do have to catch up an English, their language knowlegde needs to be improved. Due to this reason we had an non-pleasant conversation when signed off, there was a misunderstanding between my husband and receptionist. But the staff is trying hard to please you. So if you are not too picky and demanding, it is an all-right-hotel. 500€ for 5 days in the end of Sept. Small tiny balconies could not compensate a claustrophobic elevator, so be aware :)

"Great Staff!"
Shu_Traveller, 24 Septembre 2017

Nice hotel in a good central location. Lots of options for grocery stores and restaurants. Great gelato place close by. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Arranged for an early breakfast for us on one day, due to our early pick-up for a day tour.

"Great palfe"
aniket91, 19 Août 2017

It's a great place to stay in athens. The area is safe and the hotel is value for money. The breakfast is great and the rooms are pretty spacious. There are many restaurants and supermarkets in the vicinity as well.

"Good Value! Average stay! I won't be back!"
Sagar P, 21 Juillet 2017

Let me start by reflecting on some of the reviews I read about this hotel before booking.... This is a nice quiet hotel that is situated close to the Metro which makes it good for exploring the city. Rooms are a good size and have all the necessary amenities you would look for in a hotel like this, however the a/c temp can not be regulated which is frustrating in high heat and wifi in rooms is poor. We checked into the hotel late in the night following a trip to the islands. We had previously dropped some bags at the hotel before we left for our trip to the islands and found the reception staff to be rude. Check in was fairly straightforward however it took a few attempts for them to understand we had bags left in the storage room. We went up to our room (4th floor) and were instantly hit by the smell of stale smoke. We had requested a non smoking room and there was a sign stating non smoking but on the other hand there was a ash try on the table? The smell was really bad and when I called down to reception to complain and I was told the room was non smoking and that the hotel was fully booked and nothing else was available. I was not happy and asked for someone to come up to the room. The male receptionist was not the most helpful but I understood he had nothing else available and accepted that we were stuck with the room. I thanked him for his help and asked him to leave a message for the hotel manager to contact me in the morning as I was not happy with then room and wanted him to see me to discuss further. I then proceeded to unpack, 10 minutes passed and the receptionist appeared with a new room key saying he had another room for us which smelled much better. I was surprised but grateful for his help and proceeded to move rooms. In our new room we got ready for bed and switched on the a/c, this is when we started to smell cigarette smoke. The smell was coming from the vent. We ended up just going to bed with no a/c. The next morning we reported this to reception and yet again was dealt with in a rude manor. She said we had already been moved once but she will ask maintenance to take a look. We later discovered the 5th floor is smoking and so I believe this is why we could smell smoke coming through the air vents. So my tip if you decide to stay in this hotel is to avoid 4th floor rooms and be prepared for rude staff. Breakfast was average with limited choice and the wifi throughout the hotel was poor. I won't be staying here again and wish I had taken more note from previous reviews before booking.

"Good value for money"
Khalid E, 16 Juillet 2017

Best western embassy hotel is a nice decent hotel very well located in the quiet heart of Athens. It's very close to all important areas of the city including the acropolis and plaka district. It's a few hundred yards from the train stations also. The one thing that I think needs to be reviewed is the number of stars. The hotel is sold as a 4 star hotel but I don't think it's. the hotel is old and maintenance is not adequate. I had an issue with the A/C and requested the reception to call maintenance which she did and they claimed fixing it which was not true. Staff are wonderful, friendly, and try their best to help.

"Very friendly staff and a comfortable place to stay"
Jase9D, 06 Juillet 2017

I was there for two nights before exploring other parts of Greece. In those two nights the staff really made my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel is located about 10 mins from the parliament. There are plenty of restaurants and bars around the hotel to relax after a full days of sight seeing.

"Recommend the hotel highly "
SuuzieG, 03 Juillet 2017

We stayed for 3 nights end June/beginning July and would recommend the hotel highly. The hotel is very central and a few minutes walk from the Ambelokipi Metro station on the blue line. Syntagma Square and Monastraki are a couple of stops along the blue line and also the airport is on the same line which is very convenient. Also it is important to say that the hotel is in an area which is extremely safe. We were given room number 73 which is on the top floor and was a lovely large room with a very comfortable double bed and two sets of French doors leading out on to a shared balcony. A couple of things about the facility's in the room - the bath towels were beautifully thick and large and the hair dryer in the bathroom was extremely efficient unlike other hotels where you often get a pathetic air flow. The French doors have silky net curtains which looked lovely and clean so I couldn't resist smelling them and they were absolutely clean and fresh which is something that is always, and I mean always, overlooked in every hotel I've stayed in. The staff were lovely and friendly and very helpful with queries and booking of taxi's. The breakfast is continental style but does have hot food if you'd like it i.e scrambled eggs, slices of omelette and bacon and sausage. The waiter in the restaurant was lovely and very friendly and efficient. All in all we could not fault the hotel and would definitely stay there if we came to Athens again.

"Good location and quiet"
Lutsy5, 29 Juin 2017

Stayed here during a recent business trip and conference in Athens and would recommend it to anyone doing the same. The hotel is well located to the centre of the city (1.6km) and also to the main bus routes. Parking is available at the hotel. Room on the 6th floor meant no noise from the street below and also very spacious with only 6 rooms per floor. Bathroom was clean and spacious with linen changed every day. Very helpful reception staff and no problem ordering you a taxi or recommending restaurants to eat in. With no traffic, it's about 30 minutes from the airport.

"Very comfortable bed, good value for money! Very silent rooms! Ask for the top floor as the rooms have small balconies!"
Rodrigo S, 23 Avril 2017

Good hotel to be staying in as it has a very comfortable and spacious bed! I stayed on a room on the top floor which had a balcony with a view of Athens mountains. Good value for money, in my opinion. The hotel is hidden is a small street, which makes it very silent through most of the day. It's 5-7min away by foot from the subway and has a couple of bars, souvlaki places and restaurant less than 200m away. If you're looking for more options, it's 20min away by foot from the electric neighbourhood of Panormou (1 subway station away). Syntagma Square and Monastiraki are only 3/4 subway stations away and from the latter you can get to the Acropolis by walking. Breakfast is decent, with a variety of options such as scrambled eggs, fruit juices and several bakery options (salty and sweet) and has a good thing of being offered until 10:30AM. The downsides are the elevator, which is very small and can basically fit only 2 people at a time, and the wi-fi speed which is not very good (and some times the signal disappears). Bear in mind that, although it's name Best Western, don't expect a huge, fancy hotel! It's like an old hotel that has been renovated by the Best Western brand.

"Clean and spacious "
Stasia_x, 21 Mars 2017

We booked a room for a family of 4!the room was very spacious for a family and all beds were very comfortable!room was very clean and well preserved!breakfast was quite good also with quite a variety to choose from!the location was excellent as it also provides parking but you must pay 10€each day which we thought was a bit pricey!either than that everything else was exceptional!would definitely stay there again!

"Lovely helpful friendly people"
MarkJJ69, 13 Mars 2017

My wife, Daughter and their friend Angela stayed here last week for a break to see some lovely Greek friends in Falario. The staff were so friendly and the rooms very nice indeed. Food was also very nice indeed and the Location very convenient for getting around. My thanks for looking after the family, we will certainly be back in the very near future. Very typical Greek hospitality which is legendary.

"NEEDS IMPROVEMENT"
Steve G, 12 Mars 2017

This hotel is OK but dated from my opinion. It is rated 4 star and I cannot understand why. It is not 4 star standard, additionally, how can a hotel be 4 star if it doesn't have an evening restaurant? Sleep quality was OK. Bathroom has reasonable space but is very dated, needs upgrading. Breakfast as a very good open selection of all choices. Staff as pleasant and helpful. For evening meal I highly recommend the Airotel Alexandros just a short 2 minute walk down the road, superb food and amazing service.

"Good location, nice staff"
Valentina_Losa, 08 Janvier 2017

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of December. Very nice hotel with really good location. Very comfortable bed, spacious room and cozy lobby! Very good service and good breakfast. We like the Christmas decoration in the lobby.

"Unbiased review"
AthensXmasBreak, 30 Décembre 2016

We stayed here 2 weeks before Christmas The accommodation was very good Very comfortable double bed Plenty of space with a large bathroom. There was a kettle in the room with tea and coffee avaliable The shower head was not so good especially as I am tall But the temperature of the water was perfect to have a great shower. The breakfast was goodwill plenty of choices.

"Relaxing stay, Great staff."
Rudy I, 02 Novembre 2016

We stayed at the BW Plus for 3 days. I wish we could have stayed longer however, when we booked in advance they were sold out for the following days, so we stayed there the days it was available. In short, this will be my No. 1 pick when I go back to Athens. The staff is great and will try their best to assist you. The hotel is very clean and very quiet and secluded as it is on a 1 way street away from the city centre. The rooms are very well maintained. As far as I saw, all the rooms have a nice balcony which was nice come evening time. This place has a very good parking area available for 10 Euros a day that is monitored. Out of all the places we have stayed, this has the best breakfast. The area around it has a few restaurants, bars, grocery store, bakery and pharmacy. Definitely will be going back in the near future.

"Comfortable and quiet hotel"
Éva K, 26 Octobre 2016

This hotel was recommended for me. Located 5 min walk from Ambelokipi metro station in a small and quite street. I got an upgrade and had a lovely room. Bed was very comfortable and the room was nice and clean, also spacious. Breakfast area is small but I found an available table every morning. Staff are kind and always helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anybody, singles, couples or business people.

"Nice business hotel"
Igor K, 21 Octobre 2016

Hotel is located in the small street, close to USA Embassy. I reach hotels from the Airport with buss number x95 in 30 minutes, and the same time back. Hotel is in a small street, no noise, which is good. Check in and out was fast. Room was very large and had more than someone would expected in the 4* property. Internet was free and fast. Breakfast was standard but good. Hotel is in nice neighborhood with shops and food corners and bars that are opened, and you can hang there if you have some free time. Hotel is 5 minutes walking from Congress Center. To the city center it took me 30 minutes to reach. I will use i again.

"Does what it says on tin"
Gareth W, 20 Octobre 2016

Clean and comfortable rooms, comfortable bed. Free internet Friendly and helpful reception staff. Was there on a business trip but did not seem like a bad location for sight seeing. Breakfast not that great plenty of other places around. Good local area for bars and food.

"Hidden Oasis"
Gregory O, 19 Octobre 2016

It was a bit tricky to locate this hotel, tucked away on a small side street. But we found the best of all worlds - quiet, convenient to markets, the metro, concert hall, etc. We enjoyed breakfast very much and had easy connection to the ferry terminal and airport, our friends & the many historical sites in Athens.

"Bad"
Luna V, 01 Octobre 2016

Specifically Asked for a couple's bed and the room had 2 single beds. Tried to change and they said the hotel was full. No outlets in the bathroom. Old building. Poor breakfast. Expensive for what it offers. Staff is not very helpful or friendly.

"Average"
Kogorozi M, 22 Septembre 2016

Rooms were big and comfortable. Breakfast was not eatable, really hard to find the hotel as is hidden in a small road. Prices a bit expensive for this hotel... Near the embasies and main street not reccomending it except business travellers...

"Athens"
gdevost1, 18 Septembre 2016

The hotel was near the US embassy but difficult to find and not near the tourist areas. about a 8 to 10 Euro taxi to Acropolis. Floors were laminated wood that bubbled a bit. Door knobs were not secure and would come off. Elevator was VERY SMALL we had to make trips to get our luggage up to room. It's tight for two people.

"A decent hotel"
AshDelhi7, 13 Août 2016

It's an old property that has been renovated and slapped with the best western plus badge. The air conditioning was iffy in our first room so we were shifted to another. The hotel feels a little cramped by American standards The breakfast was decent. The staff was very helpful.

"Very very average"
artjames, 10 Août 2016

Booked a room described as a "junior suite" with one double and two twin beds, the twin beds were a camp bed and a small couch. My son was cut by a small piece of glass on the room floor becuae it was not well cleaned. Worse, whenwe went to the reception let the front desk person know ans akso for some first aid supplies, she did not bother to apologize for housekeeping's poor job and was very stingy with offering band-aids and some medicine to clean the wound, so not much in the way of service and courtesy. On the bright side, very reasonably priced and not a bad lacation, but overall, nothing special and very average, at best.

"An alternative location - interesting!"
PaoloTata, 31 Juillet 2016

We staid here only one night on our way back home from the Greek islands. The zone (USA embassy) is very quiet and safe, with some restaurants around and a metro station nearby, at 4 stops from the city center. The hotel is nice, clean, elegant, with helpful staff. If you plan a 2 or 3 day stay in Athens, this hotel may be a safer, quieter and cheaper alternative to many centrally located "mid-luxury" hotels.

"Very nice city"
Mahmoud F, 27 Juillet 2016

Clean hotel, helpfull staff, weak breakfast, tiny elevator, small and thin coridors, near city center between 2 metro stops, markets and good fast food rest. nearby, over all expensive wide room Near the us embasyy and city theatre Secured area hard to find it for the first visit

"Excellent quiet location"
Alerock, 14 Juillet 2016

I stayed many times in Athens ( even in other Best Western hotels ) and to be honest ( according to my previous experiences ) I was expecting to find in this hotel a much smaller room that the one I was given. On the contrary I was completely surprised to check in a very spacious and well furnished room ( a standard one anyway ). Informal & pleasant atmosphere. Comfortable bed, all very clean, perfect AC system, nice bathroom. Decent breakfast. The hotel does not have many rooms so that is rather quiet ... which was greatly appreciated. Very kind and helpful staff. Reasonable price on Booking.com - even if not reserved in advance.

"Short Visit, but Fit the Bill"
NellieVA, 28 Juin 2016

I spent one very short night at the Best Western Plus Embassy Hotel during a recent visit to Athens. The location is a bit "cramped in," located along a very narrow street, but the street is quiet and, for my purposes, the hotel was in very easy walking distance to where my meetings were being held. If you're looking for something in the heart of the tourist area, then look elsewhere. The hotel appeared in very good shape; tidy, but clean. The room was much larger than I expected. Everything looked new and sparkling; the bathroom, in particular, was quite nice. I saw a few other reviewers complain about wear, tear, and odors, but I had not such experience. The bed was comfortable and the TV had a good selection of English-language choices. I only had a few minutes to partake of the complementary breakfast, but it had a good selection of both warm and cold items, with plenty of seating. All in all, this hotel more than met my needs and expectations. If the location is convenient for what brings you to Athens, I can recommend it.

"Good location,efficient staff,convenient stay"
Maddy S, 26 Juin 2016

Stayed for 5 nights in June. We were booked for standard room but were upgraded to junior suite for 4 nights. We arrived at Athens airport and took X95 from airport to syntagma and got down at Mavili square stop. The hotel was 100mtrs away from the stop. Standard room is good size and sufficiently spacious.Junior suite is very nice and with small seating balcony area. Bed soft and comfortable.Air-conditioning perfect.wifi good although fluctuated but was resolved immediately. All the staff at reception, housekeeping & breakfast restaurant are warm, cooperative and ready to assist for all your needs. The lady at bf restaurant was very quick in service and putting replenishments and cleaning. Bf spread is good with variety of breads, delicious desserts. Metro station Megaro Moussikis is walkable 10 mins away and 2 stations from syntagma. The hotel is at bottom of Mt Lykavittos and good place to visit for top views of Athens and sunset views. We had to catch early morning flight. The reception staff arranged for some quick stuff in the Early morning 5.15am which is very much appreciated. We enjoyed out stay at the hotel and won't mind coming back again.

"Don't stay unless you have no other choice"
Carrie T, 14 Juin 2016

First and foremost, it was completely our fault we ended up having to stay 1 night here. We booked out trip to Greece fairly last minute and apparently Athens was crazy popular during that couple of days we were there and this hotel was one of the few with rooms available. The good - We got upgraded, the breakfast was decent enough, reception staff were pleasant. The not-so-good - We definitely overpaid for this being a last minute booking, it was 150euros a night. The bad - Location was in a small dark alley in a not so nice neighborhood. Our cab driver had difficulty locating it and our uber driver gave up locating us leaving us. The room we got was big as it was a 1 bed room suite but everything is in need of a serious revamp. Cleanliness is a big problem, everything from the sofa to the carpet to the dinning chairs was dirty and smells of cigarettes. The bed was hard and the blanket was nothing but a sheet. I know this is a Best Western and I should temper my expectations but we moved to Periscope hotel not too far away (and in a better neighbourhood) the next night which was great plus cost us less money. All in all, not value for money, stay only if desperate.

"Smokey air and uncomfortable beds"
Martykry, 21 Mai 2016

Spaceous room with balcony, unfortunatly I got a smoking room - why do they still exist? Why give it to a guest asking for Non smoking room? Small breakfast with burned coffee. One tiny elevator for entire hotel, 5th floor was too many stairs for me... Friendly staff in reception. Entrance not suitable for eg. wheelchairs.

"Worst hotel we have stayed at"
potatorice, 18 Mai 2016

We were booked this hotel by the planner. If I had read the reviews or even seen photos of the hotel definitely would not have chosen to stay here. Front desk was an old grumpy woman who barely muttered two words to us. There was no one to help with luggage. The elevator is freakishly small and old and the stairs is so awkward you worry you might fall and break your femur. The decor is from the 1920 without updates. The wall has strange stains on them and look like they have not been repainted since the beginning of time. The bed...oh just wow. It is like sleeping on a broken wooden plank from 1940. So uncomfortable. I question if the mattress wasnt from a flee market. The blankets are thin and horrible. The internet is only available sometime. The signal drops off all the time and super slow. Honestly stay away. This hotel has nothing to offer.

"Very good "
Meath88, 06 Avril 2016

Staying here at min and this is great hotel....price was very good for us for three nights ...breakfast was lovely and plentiful.i was very surprised that there was no food available in the hotel after breakfast that's very poor for a 4 star hotel.Location is great and there are lots of restaurants nearby.Staff are very nice and friendly and the wifi is really good.

"Great location, great value, friendly staff."
Ayla B, 19 Février 2016

This little hotel is tucked away from the main roads and yards away from the American embassy. The quite surrounding make it great for kids although the walls are very thin. Having said that the staff were very attentive when guests were noisy late at night. The location of the hotel is what makes this place. A very short walk to the metro, which you pass the American embassy to get to. Take a taxi straight on and you get to the parliament square within 15 minutes! Breakfast is ok, lift is tiny so wouldn't recommend if you have a wheelchair or need to take a buggy up to your room. We left ours at reception. We will definitely be going back!!

"Great location"
ioannis70, 04 Février 2016

Pros: Great location, good prices, free WiFi, free cancelation up to 2 days before arrival, 24h reception Cons: Relatively small rooms (especially for more than 2 persons, e.g., families), moderate breakfast

"Between three and four stars"
Rene V, 15 Janvier 2016

I decided to give three stars because there is nothing remarkable about this hotel, However, 3.5 stars would be warranted, and you will not go wrong at all to stay here if you can get a decent price and want/need to be in this area (nearest metro stop 10 min on foot). Room had a decent size, a comfortable bed, a good shower. Breakfast buffet was more than adequate. Staff were friendly.

"Salvation!"
Laura W, 02 Janvier 2016

After booking a hotel that just wasn't going to work, we moved across Athens to this place. The location is great, just next to the American Embassy. Walls are a bit thin, and there were a lot of families staying here. But overall, the children making noise in the halls weren't terribly annoying. Breakfast spread was fantastic! Staff was very friendly, especially the night concierge. He had some excellent tips.

"Very quiet and clean"
Muriel_L_74, 01 Décembre 2015

Athens doesn't seem to offer great accommodation. I found this hotel very reasonable. I appreciated very much the quietness. The place is clean and very decent not far from the US embassy. If is not user friendly for people who have mobility problem as the lift is quite narrow and there are steps to get into the hotel. Not fair away there is a main road where there is a bus going to the airport for 5 Euros

"Clean. Quiet, Comfortable"
960karenm, 21 Novembre 2015

This hotel is just a very short walk from a main boulevard,The US Embassy and the Metro system. A fresh breakfast was served every morning, the staff is friendly and very helpful and the rooms are large, clean and comfortable. After a busy day sight seeing and wandering around Athens it was a great place to retire too and have peace and quiet. The Bathroom was large and well appointed. A word of caution,be very careful with your belongings while on the Metro. Hold purses and bags in your hand or up under your arm.

"Quiet and comfortable"
Arthursmomma, 08 Novembre 2015

The BWP Embassy was not the most convenient location for our 5 nights in Athens, but it sure was comfortable, quiet and very friendly. We had 3 nights before a small boat cruise of the Greek islands. Rula was at the front desk when we checked in. She was friendly, spoke very good English, and gave us a large junior suite upgrade on the 2nd floor. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. We had a small balcony with chairs, coffee/tea, and large bathroom. After our island visit, we returned for 2 more nights. Kristos checked us in and he was quite pleasant and helpful, also. We were given a larger room on the top (7th) floor this time. The breakfast was fantastic, with all sorts of Greek and Western-style breakfast food. Our flight left very early in the morning, we had to be out of the hotel at 4:15 a.m., but Kristos made sure we had coffee and some breakfast on our way out. The only drawbacks I can think of were: 1. the elevator is tiny, as many have already mentioned. So we ended up walking a lot of flights of stairs. 2. the walk to the Metro is about 10-15 minutes, past the American Embassy and the Music Hall area. There is a small grocery store up and around from the hotel. Also, on the walk to the Metro are many small cafes, pubs, and good restaurants on the side street.

"Small hotel with big rooms"
MaryKop, 03 Novembre 2015

Set on a side street, this hotel is a little difficult to find, but it's a hidden gem. Over-sized rooms with modern bath fixtures, the room was comfortable, quiet and had a nice little balcony to sit out on and enjoy morning coffee. Room has a bed, large closet with a safe, a desk, TV and fridge and coffee pot. Also has a little seating area set privately around the corner. A/C unit worked great! Breakfast was fantastic! In between 2 Metro stops..sidewalks are narrow in this area, but safe to walk around.

"Clean and small hotel in Quiet location"
kumarjaipur, 01 Novembre 2015

Stayed in a triple room. Room and bath room very clean.Spacious room. Very comfortable bed. Good breakfast .Location is away from the tourist area. A pleasant and short walk to Megaromousikis metro station near the concert hall. Area is very safe being close to theAmerican Embassy.Since the hotel is situated in a side lane no noise. Efficient and quick checkin and check out.Lift is small.

"Down a side street but worth the stay!"
MaryKop, 21 Octobre 2015

A little hard to find since it's down a teeny side street in not the best neighborhood in town, , but this place was worth the trip. Large rooms, modern bathrooms and the breakfast was amazing. We rolled in at 4am due to a late flight but were pleasantly surprised by the size of the rooms. No great views out the windows, but had a little balcony and the A/C unit worked great! Came with a little hotpot for morning coffee--it might be the only hotel in Greece that does that! And I love my morning coffee! Small elevator barely held the two of us and our luggage. European breakfast with plenty of meats, cheeses, eggs and cereals and breads. It's near the American Embassy, so ran into a lot of Americans here. I would stay here again--about half way between 2 Metro stops, so a bit of a walk, but not bad.

"Never again!"
Robert C, 08 Octobre 2015

My worst hotel experience ever! I do not recommend this hotel to anybody. Terrible check-in service, no recognition of Diamond status, poorly decorated rooms covered in dust, WiFi not working properly, poor breakfast, mistakes made at check-out...and the most important thing - terrible quality bed. Never again!

"Autumn Break"
sandybeds5, 08 Octobre 2015

The hotel was in a nice quite area of Athens near the American Embassy, but quite close to the metro. The hotel advertises a bar and a restaurant both of which it has, but the bar is not open, you have to specifically asked for a drink and the restaurant is only open for breakfast. There appears to be a lacking of staff, it appears to all boil down to the receptionist getting your drink or generally providing as in our case cups etc as the cleaner had forgot to leave them. We were up graded to a junior suite, which was quite nice, clean and tidy, if not a little dark, some of the furniture was falling to pieces, particularly the draw unit in my wardrobe, there was a super king size mattress on a king size divan. The rooms looked a little tired, and show a lack of maintenance, ( lack of staff again) light bulb not changed, architrave falling off wardrobe surround, wooden flooring lifting, draw unit etc. It's seems like I am running the hotel down, which I am not, our stay was very pleasant. Tea, coffee provided which was most welcome in the room. Wifi worked most of the time, but had same trouble away from hotel, so probably not a hotel fault Lift quite small, but sufficient. Would I use the hotel again, YES. A little TLC would not go a miss.

"A very nice boutique hotel"
Michalakis-cy, 06 Octobre 2015

I have stayed in this hotel in two different occasions. In both occasions I had a nice experience. The only difference was that on my second visit, I had an even better room. The area is safe and quite and it is only 5 minutes walk to the metro station. The breakfast was fine and as a frequent visitor of Athens, I would definitely stay in this hotel again. To be honest i prefer to stay in Plaka, but this hotel will be added in my list.

"Good value option for Athens"
aetoi, 26 Septembre 2015

Clean, spacious and comfortable room, big and spotless bathroom. Great location for Athens centre and a nice selection of small bars and restaurants close by. Earlier reviews of rubbish-laden streets are either a case of mistaken identity or lunacy. Friendly staff and breakfast is ample. WiFi a bit hit and miss.

"Not wow...but okay"
Bongilicious, 21 Septembre 2015

Look this hotel is listed as a 4 star...I would say 3. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The dining area is very small you feel a bit squashed but the food is not that bad. Nothing wow but the location is the best we could walk around till the early hours to our hotel on foot. Blankets are a bit shady. The bath is tiny you can't really relax in there. Look it doesn't leave you feeling pampered but it's not the worst place. I think with the 4 star rating it can unrealistically raise your expectations.
