    « Don't »

First, if you call to ask directions, throw them away. The hotel is far from the metro and once you get there you have to climb a hill or several flights of stairs to get to them. If you have luggage or children or problems walking, forget it! Then, God forbid you try paying cash! The hotel first told me it was against the law for me to pay with a big bill, then changed and said the banks gave them a hard time if they had big bills. So? I don't care! This is supposed to be a big name hotel??? I don't need attitude. Then, the door to my room was stuck and I had to fight to open and close. Then, I asked for a nice room because I'm diamond and got a matchbox. Better to find another room without paying the extra for the name

« Clean hotel, noisy room, basic breakfast »

Clean and tidy hotel reception and room. Small bedroom but adequate. We paid extra for a view of the acropolis and actually couldn't see the acropolis from room 501 through next door buildings hedge!!! Not bad location, 20 mins walk from acropolis. Breakfast was poor but views were stunning from rooftop restaurant. Diana who served the evening meal at the rooftop restaurant was very helpful and informative. Approx 40 mins drive from airport. Do not pay extra for view of the Acropolis from your room

    « Exceeded Expectaions »

Excellent rooftop restaurant with views of Acropolis. Quiet backstreet, one mile from Acropolis. Rooms are tiny, however, as are most in Europe! Nicely furnished reception area with large screen TV and business computer (slow internet though).

    « A great city-break in Athens »

A really "boutique" hotel: cute, cozy, clean, with kind and helpful personel, right on the top of a hill - with great views (from room balcony or restaurant/breakfast area): Acropolis, Lykabettus, Filopappou Hill (Hill of the Muses) - travels you in the Ancient Greece right outside your door or while enjoying your tasty breakfast!

« Clean, great location, but very small rooms »

Price was certainly right at this hotel. Location is great. Staff were wonderful - friendly, helpful. The rooftop restaurant has a spectacular view. Breakfast is really good and well laid out. But the room are small and although clean it was quite tired. Having said that - it was clean and beds exceptionally comfortable and we were really only there to sleep so I have no hesitation recommending this place.

« Personnel and breakfast (buffet and view) outweigh the years this place has seen. »

The personnel and services are helpful, friendly and very supporting. Thus catching up the years this hotel has seen, which shows in the room (layout, material). Breakfast buffet is great and you have a marvellous view towards the Acropolis and Mount Lycabettus! Acropolis Museum is within walking distance. Taking all that and the acceptable rates into account you can't complain. Some efforts by the management should be made on the bleak balconys though.

« Amazing Stay and Close to Everything! »

My 12 year old son and I were traveling through Athens and stayed here 3 nights at the end of July 2016. The hotel is easily accessible via public transportation from Athens Airport and also centrally located in downtown Athens so we could walk to all of the major attractions. We were not disappointed. All of the hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with recommendations on what to see during our stay. Diana, up in the roof top restaurant, was especially helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed speaking with her every day to get her recommendations. The hotel and rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet plus there is a fabulous roof-top restaurant/bar with expansive views of downtown Athens including the Acropolis. My son and I always made it a point to hit the roof-top restaurant/bar at the end of each action packed day to eat, play games and drinks. On certain nights they had live entertainment and would open the retractable roof offering even more incredible views. We had the buffet breakfast every morning that was included in the hotel package we booked. The food and service was excellent and prices very reasonable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and look forward to staying here again on our next trip to Athens. Thanks again to the hotel staff for making our trip so much more enjoyable!

    « Small but Mighty »

We spent 4 nights at the Acropolis Ami Boutique. The hotel is located in a residential neighborhood on a hill. We experienced a lot more exercise than I normally get by walking up and down hills throughout Athens and getting to this hotel is no exception. No matter where you walk in Athens you will go up and down hills, some pretty steep. The hotel is a boutique with about 20 rooms. The room we had was quite small with no dresser drawers. The bathroom is small as well and the shower is quite cozy. There is fridge and in-room safe, but no microwave, and the TV is hung on the wall so it is easily viewed. I see that some people say it is a 5-minute walk to Syntagma but the true time is about 20 minutes to Syntagma Square and the Parliament building. There is a grocery store one block away to purchase drinks, snacks, etc.(closed Sundays) Now, the breakfast: 2+ juices. an electronic orange squeezer so you can have fresh orange juice, fresh baked assorted breads, watermelon and other fruit, 3 different types of cooked eggs, feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, peaches, nextarines, yogurt, ham, turkey, salami, hard-boiled eggs, pastries, coffee, tea, cold cereal. I detailed this because it is an amazing breakfast. The breads and pastries are different each day. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful in all ways. Stavroula, at the check-in desk, is vibrant and energetic. She helped us in so many ways. Diana is a great bartender with a huge smile and you have a great view of the Acropolis from the rooftop bar/restaurant. We were in room 303. This room is no larger than the others but the balcony is HUGE with the best Acropolis view of all the rooms in the hotel. One bit of advice: the single elevator is small also so it is difficult to get a lot of luggage in the elevator with you; just a small inconvenience. Our stay was very pleasant and we would stay here again.

    « Wonderful experience »

Great location, excellent staff, spectacular views from the roof restaurant, sumptuous breakfast. Tiny room - be prepared to squeeze. Has everything you need, though, and unless you want to spend all day in your room, this is great value for the money. Lots of exercise thrown in for free, going up and down the hills while getting to and from the hotel.

    « Love this place! »

If you are looking at this place, do yourself a favor and go ahead and book it! The rooms were clean and decent. But the winning aspect was the restaurant/bar on the top floor. Diana, the bartender/waitress, was amazing! She made our stay in Athens so much more enjoyable. The view of the Acropolis was great and the food was awesome. The hotel is within a 15 minute walk of all the major sites and close to the metro stop. If we ever go back, we will be staying there!

    « Amazing stay »

Staff is super friendly. I would recommend it to anyone going to Athens. Vassilis was friendly at the front desk. Liouba is very kind in answering your questions. Her suggestions are also great. Diana at the restaurant is very friendly and nice to speak to. The front desk were nice with me as well upon check out.

« Great view but poor wifi »

The view of the acropolis is spectacular, however the wifi is shocking. Clean, comfortable rooms. Was good for a last night in Athens before a flight home, however better places to stay in Athens if you are there for longer. Helpful service.

« Wonderful experience excellent location »

Ok so my wife and I both are discerning when it comes to hotels that we stay in. Usually for vacations we prefer large chains such as HYATT, Hilton etc since the service quality is standard regardless of the country. I had to be reminded by my wife that for the price and location I needed to adjust my expectations. Don't get me wrong the hotel was clean, convenient and safe but it's a Boutique so to compare to a large chain would be unrealistically unfair. The rooms are small compared to the North American norms; however, there was an attached balcony which provided a beautiful view and we have never had a balcony that large in a bigger chain. The shower is a snug fit- snug, snug, snug but what the bathroom lacks in size the location and staff make up for it. On the heels of mentioning about the staff, all members of staff from the front desk to restaurant staff were really friendly and helpful. On another note we were worried about using the safe ( because of general paranoia) but no issues of theft whatsoever. We'll just close off by saying be realistic with your expectations. What you'll pay for one night in a larger chain you can get three(3) nights in this hotel. Happy travels.

« Really small rooms wifi doesn't work »

Location is good but rooms are extremely small and Wifi doesn't work well even in the lobby . Ok if what you are looking for is location and price only and a place to sleep after a long day ... Fits 3 people of the 3rd doesn't mind a pull out sofa really uncomfortable ...

    « Wonderful stay »

In this boutique hotel you can experience wonderful stay, friendly staff, beautiful roof bar. The hotel is situated in the center, which means 5 minute walk and you are in Syntagma square, Monastiraki, Plaka, Acropolis. And also it is very quiet.

    « Functional & Friendly »

Family of 5 stayed over 2 rooms for 1 night in Athens. Staff were very helpful arranging transfer to airport & directions to nearby facilities. Rooms were clean, breakfast was good value & view from top floor was special.

« Just what the doctor ordered »

With only one day in Athens before heading out on a cruise, and also coming off of a 9 hours flight, we weren't exactly looking for a wild party. The hotel is in a great, quiet neighbourhood and extremely close to the Acropolis, which was the only attraction we wanted to see. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and the hotel itself was clean and exactly what we needed. The restaurant/terrace on the top floor has a spectacular view of the city and of the Acropolis, especially when lit up at night. And the food & service was great too. Our room even had a little balcony which to my surprise, we ended up using, enjoying a few beers in the late afternoon. I would definitely go back.

    « Welcoming Hotel »

The acropolis is well suited in the center of the City and has wonderful view of the Acropolis from the roof bar. The staff are very friendly and helpful especially the lady who served us in the bar. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Could do with a parasol on the large and comfy patio of the room though as it was unbearably hot but that is a minor point. Breakfast cost 7 euros and was worth it with lots of choice. We recommend this hotel.

« Great place to recharge after hostels »

We stayed one night in a hostel right off Monastiraki Square -- which is a fantastic location -- easy to get to/from the Airport and to tour old Athens (HIGHLY recommend that you download Rick Steves' audio walking City Tour, Acropolis Tour, and Agora tour -- no need for expensive guides!). The hostel was very bare bones, but did the job for the night despite the street noise, poorly working A/C, and lack of more than basic creature comforts -- which we expected. As part of our travel plan, we figured we'd want more comfortable accommodations after knocking out the major sites of old Athens (Yes, in one FULL day!). So, the next two nights we pre-booked a room at the Best Western Acropolis Ami Boutique Hotel (BWABH). It was perfect for the comfort, location, and price-to-value that we were looking for. First, it is on the opposite side of the Acropolis from the tourist areas of Monastiraki and the Plaka -- so it is quiet. Second it is a boutique hotel, meaning that it is small by American standards -- the elevator (3ft x 3ft), the rooms, the beds, and especially the shower (Drop the soap or shampoo? Don't expect to bend over to pick it up without opening the shower doors and stepping out!). But, don't be put off because it is a pretty standard arrangement for a European three-star hotel -- which is actually very nice. Everything at the BWABH is clean and works -- especially the A/C! Wifi was ok and never dropped a connection. The staff is friendly and helpful. The full breakfast was a welcome site after simple hostel offerings of tomatoes, olives, cucumbers, hard boiled eggs, bread, jam, and instant coffee. And the view of the Acropolis and Parthenon can't be beat! As for a room with a view -- get one if you can, but I wouldn't splurge. You'll be out and about all day in the Greek sun and will have a view of the Acropolis from practically anywhere you are in the city. By the time you get back to your room all you'll want to do is turn on the A/C, shut the blinds, and take a nap before venturing out for dinner -- which, in Athens in the summer, seems to start after 9:00 PM when the locals go out to spend a couple of hours eating, drinking, smoking, talking and enjoying the warm night time breezes. The rooftop restaurant at the hotel has a full menu and is quite good for a convenient, quality meal with a spectacular view. But if you want a little more local flavor at more local prices, head around to the back side of the hotel for less than a 5 min walk to the little restaurant called ?????? ??????? (Lostre Kitchen) at Pitheou 32. Its across from the sports park and seemed to be very popular with the local residents. We loved it! Grab a table outside and just enjoy the ambiance -- nothing fancy, but the wait-staff is incredibly friendly and engaging! Also, just behind the hotel is a bakery shop that sells incredible pastries and coffee, water, and a limited beer/wine selection at local prices -- a great place to provision yourselves before heading out for the day! The nearest Metro stop is Fix -- about a 10 minute walk down a slight hill from the hotel. The hotel itself sits at the top of Iras St which goes up and over a small rise, about two hundred feet up from the main street. We took a taxi from the hostel in Monastaraki so we didn't have to manage bringing our suitcases up. Overall, the BWABH was perfect for our needs, desires, and budget. We were glad we stayed here as we left feeling refreshed and energized for the next leg of our trip -- Istanbul!

    « Nice hotel »

Very clean and friendly hotel with great breakfast. Room was quite small but perfectly adequate for our one night stay. Friendly staff and a good location being a 5 minute walk from the Fix Metro station and just 2 stops from there to Syntagma.

    « Beautiful hotel »

Beautiful hotel with great service. Rooms clean and nice. Layout of the hotel was nice. Breakfast had a lot of variety and lovely view of the acropolis. The hotel did accidentally charge us twice but this was corrected soon after the mistake was found when we had returned.

« Convenient with a great view of Acropolis »

The hotel website doesn't lie: you can see the Acropolis quite well from their rooftop restaurant/bar. Other than that, I wasn't overwhelmed. I was in a room that barely left space to move around, let alone leave my suitcase open on the floor. I don't know how two people would manage! My dinner at their restaurant wasn't what I had hoped for either: very slow service (one hour after ordering, they brought starter & main at the same time) and not necessarily the best food I ate for that price in Athens. To be fair, the reception staff was very friendly & welcoming.

« Friendly staff good location »

We walked 7 minutes to acropolis Museum. Location is quite central. Room is small but very cozy. Staff is very friendly. Rooftop had live music while we were there which was very nice. Staff at restaurant was very friendly and welcome cocktails quite generous. The only issue we had was we booked via expedia and it listed that the hotel offered free parking, however the hotel told us it was a listing error from expedia, the parking was a few blocks away and they offered a hotel rate. Otherwise bed was comfortable, bathroom was a decent size for europe. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The lobby, rooftop and friendly staff was our favourite parts.

    « Love this place! »

One of our absolute favorite places that we stayed during our 3 week trip to Europe Great view of the Acropolis from the terrace on our room Fabulous view of the Acropolis from the rooftop restaurant Delicious breakfast buffet & every meal we ate in the restaurant was great Very friendly hotel owners and staff, shout out to Christine! We really enjoyed the music group that played in the evenings Comfortable & clean room and bathroom Acropolis within walking distance

« Not Very Good for the Price »

We needed a two-night stay in Athens with shuttle bus to the airport which is described at the hotel amenities, but for our surprise and disappointment there's none, but a phone call for a 45 euro taxi ride to the airport. The rooms were very small and had no refrigerator/mini bar. The shower was very tight and we had to sit sideways on the toilet because it was close to the walls for so small the bathroom was. The breakfast was not free. The rooftop only kudos was the view of the Acropolis which was nice, but the area was very small and very hot in the morning. I do not recommend this hotel.

    « Travel Buddy »

My husband and I stayed here for two nights on the 11th and 12th of June 2016,the Acropolis Ami hotel is in a nice area within walking distance to the Plaka area,it has good views from the roof top bar and restaurant over looking the Acropolis, breakfast is served here in the morning which is very pleasant. The breakfast was small but very nice with the best Greek yoghurt I have ever had.We ate at the restaurant the first night and the food was very good.My husband and I booked a double room which was a big mistake as the room was so small that we had no room to open our luggage bags which made it very difficult, and had to lift them onto the bed each morning to find our clothes and toiletries. The bathroom was very small and the shower we could only squeeze through the doors sideways and we are not big people,it was very difficult to wash yourself and whatever you do don't drop the soap as it's impossible to bend over to pick it up without opening the show screen and drowning the floor, the positive is the water pressure was excellent. All in all this boutique hotel was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful, but if you were staying more than two days make sure you check out the room size.

« Great view, great staff, great location! »

We got there at midnight, extremely tired and it was nice to have someone kind at the desk. The room was not as nice as in the pictures to be honest, it was very simple, but it had a great view to the Parthenon from the balcony and it was comfortable. All-in-all good for the price. Location is perfect, just 10 min walk from Acropoli and near to all of the other attractions. Breakfast from the roof top is nice and has an amazing view. One of the two nights we stayed there, we took a nap (a long one) and we were starving but too tired to go out so we called reception to order something but they informed us that room service was closed already. However, the chef made a couple sandwiches and sent them to our room, which was a really nice gesture. They did charge 3 Euros per sandwich, which i think was a little too much, but we really value the kindness of preparing them at midnight just to don't let us starve. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, clean, well located place with nice staff!

    « Quaint and Friendly »

Service was absolutely fabulous and the staff was so welcoming and accommodating! Rooms are a pretty tight squeeze but very clean. And they have a rooftop bar and restaurant with the best view! It's five floors with the bar on the sixth floor.

I choice this hotel because I needed one night in Athens and did a search for airport. This hotel is not at all near airport, actually a 45min taxi ride. It says shuttle but it is calling a taxi for you. It is difficult to find. I had a friend drop me off and we kept going in circles with GPS. Since I was alone I went up to the room top restaurant and could not get served so left to go find a nearby cafe. This was 9 pm at night. This is not a great shops a street over and I had to cross very busy streets to find a simple cafe still open. The front desk girl when I checked in could not answer any questions that I had. I needed an ATM and she send me a distance crossing two major and busy streets. I found an ATM much closer on my own. I had the breakfast which is fairly basic but a view of the Acropolis which is nice. The breakfast was not free but not expensive and there is nothing near the hotel. My room was very small. I am 5'8" and slim but if much larger could not have turned around in the shower. If looking for an airport hotel....I will save you the trouble...Holiday Inn Airport and Soffitel are the only two.

« Great little hotel near the sights »

Stayed here in August 2015 and weren't sure what to expect as read about the hill to get to it and how far it might be from the centre. However, we needn't have worried. Yes there is a short steep road to the hotel from the centre but the walk to the central pedestrian area (right by the Acropolis museum) is a maximum of 10 minutes. The hotel itself was a great find. It seems to be a family run thing and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooftop bar has great views of the Acropolis. Breakfast is also served up there and is a great way to start the day. Rates were reasonable and rooms were clean. Nothing to fault at all.

« Excellent value for money, amazing view, outstanding food, friendly staff, well located. »

Business trip for a night only. The room cost was very low, the view from both the room and restaurant was outstanding, the food in the restaurant was fresh, home made, and again excellent value for money, very tasty and healthy, the staff were very welcoming and accommodating even after we had checked out, the location is very convenient. I cant really fault it, air conditioned rooms with balcony, very clean, maybe a tad smaller than expected but honestly I would recommend this for business, for couples, for families, for anyone.

« A very good option near to the Acropolis »

It is my first time in Greece and I was looking for a very good option (price-value) near to the touristic areas, so I decided to go for Best Westen. It has a very good view to the Acropolis from de valcony, it also includes buffet breakfast for 5€. Rooms are small but OK for a couple of days.

« We highly recommend this hotel! »

Comfortable, clean, very well located for walkers, very friendly service, superb panoramic views of the Acropolis & city of Athens, from the rooftop restaurant. The food is delicious & makes you feel more at home. You can relax & watch the Greek world go by from the restaurant or you might prefer staying in a plastic 5 star hotel which could be located anywhere & miss out on a real Greek family hospitality experience. Your choice!

« Nicest people in Athens »

What a wonderful place. Very clean and well kept. Rooms are small but beds and pillows very comfortable. The breakfast was great and they even offer dinner at a very reasonable cost. Very good food. Full bar. The staff make this place extra special. There is nothing within reason they will not do to make you feel at home. We stayed 2 nights, then left for Delphi for 2 nights and back to the Acropolis ami for a final 2 nights. Upon returning there was a bottle of wine in our room and the extra pillows and towels we had asked for during our first few days. The location is within walking distance of everything. Do not hesitate to stay here. We where 3 sisters from Canada. I would recommend this hotel to all my family and friends.

« Great location, and best rooftop restuarant with a view! »

My husband and I stayed here for two nights before transferring to Santorini for our honeymoon. This hotel was perfectly located to the Acropolis, the museum, and the old town of Plaka. Yes, there is a little bit of a walk, but it wasn't bad-we walked it twice. The city is pleasant, clean and we felt safe. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Our favorite part about this hotel was the rooftop restaurant. My husband and I are both chefs, so part of the reason we choose Greece for our honeymoon was for the food. Christina, Chef Spiro and Ionliea (the morning lady, sorry I miss spelled your name) were very nice, helpful and friendly. We ate there both nights for dinner, first for the amazing view, their hospitality and for the food. The breakfast display was very impressive, offering a little bit of everything you could want. They were all very helpful, answering all our food questions and even letting us go to the kitchen to learn about Ravani, my new favorite Greek semolina cake! I highly recommend this hotel- its affordable, simple, clean, great location, has a great view, friendly, and great food! Thanks Christina, Chef Spiro and Ionliea! :)

« Great location and rooftop dining »

This is a great hotel close by the Acropolis. We were within easy walking distance to the Acropolis and the Plaka but there is quite a hill to walk up on your return to the hotel. It was worth it for the views of the Acropolis at night from the rooftop restaurant and the full breakfast each morning was great. The employees even gave us hugs as we left.

« Best hotel bang for your buck in Athens! »

Spectacular (close up) view of the Acropolis from the roof garden and some balcony rooms, super friendly staff, very comfortable beds, immaculate rooms, excellent breakfast and dinner available on the roof garden and easy walking distance to the Acropolis and Plaka. I've stayed here several times since I discovered it and can't foresee ever staying anywhere else.

    « Location location location »

Very nice Hotel, close to the center and with a fab view of the City. The roof top terasse is a nice place to enjoy the evening. The staff are very friendly, and the rooms decent. Highly recommended for the location and the views.

    « Disappointing... »

    - This Hotel is definitely NOT centrally located plus it's up a steep hill - You come tired from walking around and then you need to climb that steep hill. There were definitely better hotels in central location.Pick something closer to the central area because there will be a lot of walking and this hotel is a little further which is extra walk. - The Bathroom is HORRIBLE. The sink is so small that even if you wash your hands you wet the whole bathroom & the shower is soooo TINY that you'd rather not take a shower. It was MISERY. - The Cleaning service is a pain in the neck. We came back from a tiring day and when we got to the hotel, we found our room all messy and NOT cleaned. The garbage was emptied and the bathroom was cleaned but the room was a mess. When we called the front desk they only said we'll take note of it. Since it was warm we would leave the air conditioner warm but when we would get back they would have switched it off.We had to request them not to turn it off. The Front Desk was friendly but our Overall Experience was Awful. Will never recommend it. I am sure we could have found a better place with better location in this money.

    « What a quaint little place! »

We flew into Athens from Rome, the flight was two hours late so by the time we landed it was half past 8 at night. We took a cab to the hotel, knowing that it was an hour long drive. We were way too tired to figure out trains and trams which may have gotten us there faster. I perked up a little as I sighted a beautifully lit Acropolis towards the end of our journey. I knew our hotel was close to the Acropolis as we had booked the room with the view of the Acropolis. Athens, especially when you are coming from the airport, is a beautifully laid out city. Lovely boulevards, wide roads, impossibly green, and an endearing mix of mountains, monuments and modernity. From the wide roads, suddenly we swerved into a really narrow steep road and within a minute of climbing here, we saw the signpost of the hotel. The lobby is not large but somehow has a warmth to it. The lady at the reception was very welcoming as she checked us in. We were happy to see that there were no noisy tourists hanging around in the reception that is such a common sight with typical branded hotels. Our room was on the third floor. Handkerchief sized. But with a large terrace. And the most spectacular view of the Acropolis!!! They have a lovely restaurant on the sixth floor where they serve breakfast and dinner 5 pm onwards. No lunch unless it is catered for groups. From up here you have a splendid 360 degree view of the whole city. Lovely spread for breakfast. Lots of vegetarian fare for dinner. Very efficient and prompt in service. We had a problem with our bed and within minutes of informing the reception, a technician came, fixed it and bingo!! It is amazing how in such a small room they have actually managed to make place for all the basic amenities. There is even a mini bar humming in the wardrobe! We managed to use the terrace not just for lolling around but for storing our shoes, laundry which needed to go back to India,, our jackets, and of course for drying clothes. That freed up quite some space in the room. The weather is gorgeous and for the first time on this trip we could ditch our jackets, wear shorts and stroll around the market for lunch. Wifi is good, no coffeemaker, but you can always go up to the 6th floor for a coffee with a view. Bathroom is also very small and I'm certain they came up with some algorithm for how much space is taken up by a human body for each of the ablutions, because not an inch more than absolutely necessary is provided. A pot, a small wash basin a shower stall. I'm dying to get back to my shower stalls in Goa and Bangalore where I can tango with Anil without knocking knees or crashing elbows!! Acropolis Ami is mon ami too :)

    « Friendly Hotel »

This hotel is ideally located for the sites of Athens, although it is up a steep hill. Walking distance to the Acropolis, Plaka and Monastiraki. It is well run and very clean and the staff go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need. The 6th floor has a roof bar, which also serves breakfast and dinner, and gives a panoramic view of the city. I would stay in this hotel again when I visit Athens.

« homely, welcoming and hard to fault »

On a 5 day business trip with two colleagues we wanted a no-frills reasonably priced hotel near Plaka for evening eats and drinks. This small boutique hotel far surpassed expectations. Comfortable well-appointed rooms and in a quiet location. Free fast wi-fi. All staff outstandingly friendly and efficient. Location on the short but very steep hill might be difficult for some with mobility problems but for most no problems. A 10 minute walk to the heart of the Plaka. Stunning views of Acropolis and Monastery mountain from the breakfast room and many rooms. A nice touch at breakfast was the ability to squeeze your own orange juice from the fresh oranges provided - excellent quality and range of food and views unbeatable. The roof terrace was also home to the bar to watch the sun go down. One small irritation was a barking dog at nearby accommodation but not the hotels fault ..... and this is the city ! special thanks to the staff at breakfast and early evening - and reception.

« A romantic welcome for us honeymooners »

Thank you for decorating our room with rose petals and serving us a complimentary fruit bowl. Athens can't get better. Staff is real friendly and the view of acropolis is another add on. Walkable distance from tram and metro. Just location is a bit tight spot as we struggled just a bit to find it.

« Perfect hotel to explore the beautiful city of Athens »

The hotel is situated in walking distance of nearly every sight and has a great view of the Acropolis from the spacious balcony. Staying here 4 nights during my trip price-value for 35€/night (Standard single-room) was excellent and the included breakfast was of good quality and had everything needed.

« Interesting visit- tried to be fair in a detailed review. I say average but I'm not sure I would stay again! »

The Good: - (fairly) close to the Acropolis. I walk slow so about a 15-20min walk. It is busy and the roads are dangerous but this seems to be Athens roads in general. - local bakery and restaurant I tried (?? ????????) were absolutely lovely. - easy to get a taxi either through the hotel or from nearby roads. Also good travel connections nearby with buses, trams and metro. - Smallish but comfortable room. Lovely, comfy bed. - the same lady as mentioned below was very helpful in trying to console me and find my phone after I lost it, of which I was very grateful for. The Bad: - breakfast was just awful. Hot options were scrambled egg, egg on toast, what looked like tinned mini hot dog sausages and something else i can't remember, and all were cold. Other than that you had really plain bread, processed ham and cheese and some other little bits like that, and two flavours of cereal. Cherry juice was lovely but I believe the orange was squash. There was the option to make your own but having stayed in a room below, I wasn't going to do it out of principal because of how noisy it was. very small bathroom. shower could be temperamental. I only ate there the once and found breakfast alternatives for the rest of my stay. - door to the balcony (not a sit down one) couldn't be opened so just had to leave the top ajar- good thing I had air con really! - dinner was also not particularly great. I ate here one night as I was too tired to find somewhere out (travelling alone). Food was average and I waited over an hour between ordering and being served- burger and chips! If I hadn't have met a couple on the table next to me and got talking to them it would have been an incredibly long dinner. I feel the rooftop bar and restaurant was overpriced compared to similar and better restaurants in the area; especially when compared to the quality of the food. - internet could be very temperamental at times - EXTREMELY small lift. you could barley get one person in there with a big suitcase! Service: - was in a room on the 5th floor first night. bar kept me up till gone 12 and then again breakfast wok me up at 10 past 6. Whilst I appreciate the staff were probably not going out of their way to make noise, you could hear every single plate being moved and footsteps people made; was ridiculous. Anyway I went downstairs in my pjs and at first the lady asked them to be quieter. At 10 to 7 the noise was still really bad, and fully awake I went back down and asked to be moved rooms. In all fairness the lady on overnight was very sympathetic and helpful (dark, long-haired lady) and she said to go have breakfast and her colleague would move me at 8. Brought my suitcase down at 8 only to be told no I would be moved later on in the day. Ok fine, so I lagged the suitcase all the way back to my room and they moved it whilst I went out that day. My room on the second floor was quieter, although the walls are paper thin everywhere so it's not a quiet hotel. - nobody offered to help me with my bags, which whilst small, I've always thought a standard for a hotel. - the hotel says they offer things that they don't. For instance, they have a card in the room with amenities and advice on it, which clearly states if you want something washed put it in the laundry bag and leave it somewhere clearly visible in your room for it to be taken by the cleaning lady- supposedly if you leave it before 11 it should be returned to you same day. After it wasn't collected the second day, I went down to reception only to be told I should have brought it down first thing in the morning. Wasn't very happy. - Whilst one or two staff were very friendly, I felt that being English and the language barrier was too much of a hassle for some of the staff, who then treated my concerns very abruptly and rudely. When I had a problem or wanted to ask something, I would get a huffy response that was a bit like ?not my problem' and in very broken english. was confusing and frustrating at times. Comments I heard from a lady I met staying in the hotel: - this lady was also woken up at 6am, this time by the laundry service throwing stuff around in the cleaning closet right outside her room. happened twice apparently. - other rooms were incredibly small and difficult to negotiate around furniture. - air cons did not always work, meaning the room got very hot. - shower did not work first night she was there. - Neither did the safe- someone had to bring in another safe (although clearly they did which was good). - Just because it says you have a view of the acropolis, doesn't mean you really will. Her view was obstructed by a clear plastic barrier between her room and the room next door (between her and the acropolis); as well as it being incredibly hard to see around buildings. You practically had to sit in a specific spot on the balcony. - Doors to the balcony were stiff and hard to use. - Glasses that had been used were not replaced with clean ones when the rooms were done. - Hairdryer would switch off after 5 mins

    « Lovely Experience »

First of all if you are looking for some sophisticated place with a roof top pool, then boy dont step here. Come here to experience some really warm hospitality. Instance 1: We arrived late into the night well after they had closed their roof top restaurant, but they made it a point to serve something quick for our family. How thoughtful can a place get? Instance 2: Our departure was as early as 4am, the hotel made it a point to pack some easy to eat sandwiches for our way, we didnt even ask for it. Apart from this every single person at the front reception or at the roof top bar are extremely hospitable and warm. The absence of 5 star is because of the average food. It was not of concern to us as would be to others ( i guess), as most of meals are out. One suggestion if you are a family more than 2, dont go for the standard room as its small and specifically ask for Acropolis view rooms with a balcony. So a cozy place with really warm people

    « Wonderful place »

Super nice staff, clean, sweet rooms and quite place. Quite close to the city centre, metro is 5 min away, Acropolis hill 15 min walk. Nice area. Simle, but delicious real greek breakfast buffee. Just the wifi is breaking down once in a while. Then we just figured out where is the rooter and restarted it during the evenings :) You truly feel like in an acient greek royal family house.

« Marinos Vacation to Athens and Greece »

Excellent stay at the Acropolis Ami! The hotel is quaint and close to the Acropolis, the Temple of Zeus and the plaka... the latter two being able to be reached on foot. Down the hill one way is a coffee shop, bakery and small market for fruit and such. The rooms are clean. Free wifi worked perfect. The Roof Top restaurant is beautiful with a view of the ancient ruins and Athens. We stayed three nights and ate our last dinner under the open sky. Great traditional food. The staff were all very helpful and kind.

    « Great service »

Stayed for 2 nights. Very friendly, helpful service. Clean rooms and stunning view of the Acropolis from the upper level restaurant. Would highly suggest. Close to downtown and several great restaurants. Breakfast was the key meal for us.

    « A room with a view »

I stayed at the Acropolis Ami for one night and wished I was staying for longer. The room (404) was small but perfect for my needs. I had spent all day travelling and wanted a big comfortable bed and that's exactly what I got. For what I paid for the room I was surprised to find I had a terrace with a view of the acropolis. The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. The area is very quiet but still only 10 minutes walk to the main sights. I will definitely stay there on my next trip to Athens.

    « Lovely place »

Stayed there for 5 nights on valentine's weekend and also we celebrated my husbands birthday. I requested on arrival in room bottle of wine and snacks platter as a surprise for my husband and I got all what I wanted and it was free of charge. Wanna thank for that to a lovely staff. ROom was small with comfy bed and big upgraded to 4th floor acropolis view room...what was lovely surprise too ..only one down side was breakfast. Cold meats and salads was lovely just hot food was not hot at all...sausages and bacon and eggs was slightly warm...but apart of that I enjoyed my stay and if I ever get bk to Athens I will definitely choose Best Western Acropolis Ami Boutique Hotel

« Comfortable and clean hotel »

We enjoyed our stay in the Acropolis Hotel. The hotel was clean and well presented and the staff were very helpful at all times. The breakfast was plentiful and the view from the rooftop restaurant of the Acropolis was stunning in the beautiful Greek morning sunshine. I would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again, the only reservation which I would have, is that it is quite tricky finding your way to the location, especially if you are arriving later in the evening. Other than that, a real gem!

    « Very good staff/views of Acropolis »

Stavroula at the Front Desk is a great staff person at this hotel. She was very helpful with info that we needed. When we first arrived our room wasn't ready but we were able to leave our things behind the desk til we returned. When we did we got a 4th Floor room with a large balcony and a great view of the Acropolis! The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The breakfast was wonderful with a large variety of food to choose from. The staff lady that was at breakfast was very friendly and even made the fruit jams that were delicious :-)

« Lovely little hotel, great views »

Great little 18 room hotel, clean room with great views of the Acropolis from our balcony, staff very friendly. We found the breakfast poor, there wasn't much left on all 3 occasions when we went for breakfast at 8.30am had to ask for bread(for toast) egg, milk, hot water for tea. No juice, no drinking water. Only 1 staff member on shift for breakfast who was also cooking the food in her own clothes. Also when are room was serviced bedding was not changed bed was simply re-made. Room VERY small! All staff in there own clothing no uniforms.

« Great breakfast, enjoyable time »

Impressive views of the Parthenon from the rooftop which is open for breakfast and dinner. Rooftop breakfast was especially great. The woman who runs breakfast was awesome. She made us fresh orange juice or cappuccino every morning, and the food was Great. Beds comfortable, bathrooms small-medium. Location was a brief walk to the Acropolis museum and site. We stayed here for 4 nights, and the Front desk was kind to store our luggage for 2 nights.

    « Lovely place »

The place is clean and warm. The staff is friendly polite and competent. The atmosphere is like at home. Very nice breakfast with homemade jam (delicious) and delicious choice of food.i visited this hotel from the 1st till 8th of February 2016 for holiday and we have to say we really enjoyed our time In Best Western hotel. Small rooms but clean and comfortable.

    « Feels like home! »

Amazing feeling of hospitality. The staff was great - Gianna and Stavroula were perfect. Top management was a bit arogant though.. (not contact with the customer, telling off staff during breakfast) - that was a bit wired. Clean rooms (not that big though). Fresh breakfast, well cooked dinner dishes and salads. Flexible service. Close to the city center and museums.

    « Very warm welcome »

We spent very good time in this hotel, the staff is particularly friendly and attentive, always available and gave us all the informations we needed. The hotel is very clean and very nice. We were feeling like in family and Christina cooked for us excellent dishes, even a special soup when we just needed it. Thank you to all of you and especially Yorgos, Stavroula, Joanna and Christina !

« Very nice hotel with family athmosphere »

This hotel is very nice, located in the city area and all nice locations near Acropolis are in walking distance 10-15 minutes. Our romm was pretty small, but the balcony with view to the Acropolis nicely spacious. The staff of the hotel are very friendly, having us welcomed like family members. The breakfast is more than sufficient with nice Greek cheese, cold cuts, eggs in all forms, nice Greek pastry and veggies, all in all very yummy and only 5 EUR including coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice, and last but not least, a great view on the Acropolis! Thanks Acropolis Ami Boutiqe Hotel staff!!! Melanie & Juergen

« Excellent stay- Very friendly Staff »

I've stayed at the hotel for 6 nights. It was my first time in Athens so the location was a priority. We found the hotel staff very friendly and helpful, Stavroula (receptionist) was very helpful and answered all our questions & Joanna (cafe lady) was very friendly and made the best coffee :) , breafast was yummy aswell with an awesome view from the top. The room was always kept clean and tidy. The location was great, within 30 minutes walk to all the main distinations (acropolis, temple of Zeus, plaka and syndagma square). Also the metro station was close, less than 5 minutes away. The best part about the location of the hotel is that its right in the centre, but away from the main street, so its quiet at night. I would definetly recommend the hotel to others, especially if its your first time in Athens. Thanks for the lovely time :)

« A retreat in the centre of Athens »

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way back home from the UK. You wouldn't think you were in the centre of a City like Athens. The hotel was lovely, the owners were great and the views from the top floor bar exquisite. We walked to the Acropolis from here, even with our 3 year old. Very accessible. There's a beautiful little bar/restaurant down the street if you turn left out of the hotel towards the Acropolis at the bottom of the hill - didn't recall the name but complemented our hotel wonderfully.

« Best I've ever Had (and I've been around)!! Should be a 3 stars or better »

Fantastic stay! the view of the Acropolis from our room was great. The hotel staff was very helpful, & courteous, I was very impressed with Stavroula's knowledge (receptionist) and intellect of Athens and the surrounding areas. She was very instrumental in acquiring transportation to the temples of Posideon & Delphi. Joanna's coffee, breakfast and fun personality woke me every morning. Mikos and Ivona ended my evenings with happy thoughts, their dinners were so amazing, flavorful, appealing you wanted to come back and eat there. The hotel cleaning staff (Alonia & Lena) always had our rooms clean and ready when we arrived I never went without. The room was perfect for me, the bed outstanding, I slept very comfortable. I definitely recommend this Hotel to all who come to Athens. It's walking distance to all sites (which helps your cardio).

    « Fabulous stay! »

We stayed on the second floor- beautiful, quiet room with ample space for 3! The breakfast buffet was outstanding! Joanna was very friendly and hard working! We celebrated our last evening with a special dinner cooked by the chef- the fish was caught that day! We all agreed it was one of the best dinners ever! We ordered it 2 days ahead - don't miss out on this chefs cooking! The sights could be viewed breakfast, lunch and dinner from this wonderful balcony. Maps were provided and water also! Needless to say we loved our stay! The

    « Great experience!! »

Me and my friend stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. It's about 15-20 minutes walk to the Acropolis and the other main sites, the staff is amazing, and the breakfast was good, especially the home-made jams and Greek yogurt!! Great view of the Acropolis from the breakfast room (on the 6th floor).

« Nice place to stay within walking distance to the Acropolis »

This is a nice small hotel within walking distance to the Acropolis and the Plaka. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The roof deck was a wonderful place for dinner, cocktails and breakfast. The view of the Acropolis was an added benefit. The rooms and bathrooms are tiny.

« Great value for money »

We stayed 6 days in September 2015. Excellent location, close to Acropolis. Amazing view of the Acropolis from the 6th floor Restaurant. Nice and very helpful staff. Clean room and bath. Good breakfast and good restaurant. Very quiet place, despite it is close to public transport. No crazy sounds of motobikes in the night!

    « Amazing stay »

Both my wife and I have returned back to this hotel several times when we visit Greece. To our surprise we found that the level 6 bar now offers a small food menu, which was excellent. The rooms are always clean and well kept. The hotel lives to its name the 'boutique' hotel. The service was always with a smile and very helpful.

« Nice hotel a bit far for walking »

Tip on taxi: indeed a lot of taxis don't know the hotel, bring exact address and take a card at front desk. Tip on rooms: some rooms have access to good sized balcony that sits 6 people (403 example), it faces the Lykavittos mountain. Pros: clean room, AC in room is good, breakfast at 6th floor with nice south view of Acropolis and you can enjoy the sunrise there, open 7am. Lobby has computer & printer. Very helpful front desk and restaurant staff with good English. Cons: lobby has no AC(they turned it off I think), a bit far to walk to Acropolis (I stayed at different hotel last visit which is closer), there is a steep climb walking up Iras to get to the hotel. Shower space is really small! Note to visitors: pls help the country by asking for receipts whenever you buy something at stores, this ensure local people pay taxes to government , this is a message passed to me when I visit their national library.

« Worst staff ever, and I'm a good Best Western customer »

The hotel was well located ( just 10mn walk to the Acropoli ) and the room was clean. But this is the only good little things I can say about this hotel. I've stayed in many Best Western all over the world and I've never met such a disrespectful staff. They were very impolite, incompetent and most of them spoke A VERY BAD ENGLISH, which made it difficult when I had some requests. When I was relaxing and having a drink at the bar, a staff member told me to go to the reception RIGHT NOW to fix something about my stay. I told him I would go after finishing my drink, and he put his hand on my shoulder and told me " Come on, it will take you only 5 mn ". I was so shocked that I didn't say anything, but actually I was really going to insult him. I wanted to partly pay my stay with a BW travel card and they didn't know how to use it. I've even been asked " but how should I take money from this?? ". In the end, they didn't used my BW travel card, and they took all the money from my credit card WITHOUT MY AUTORISATION. I've been used to a very good quality service with Best Western, but this time I am really shocked and disappointed.
