« We had a very positive night's lodging at the Best Western Plus Colony Inn! »

We had a very positive night's lodging at the Best Western Plus Colony Inn. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. The provided breakfast was fine--a great way to begin the day's travels. We would certainly stay here again should we visit Atascadero another time.

« Great place to stay »

The bed was clean and comfortable, as well as the pillows. The room was comfortable and adequate with refrigerator and microwave. I would've loved to be able to use the awesome Fitness Center. Great breakfast!

    « Great »

Had a family trip and was given this hotel as an option to stay at. I made the right choice. My daughter and I felt safe and we really enjoyed the breakfast. The employees did a good job at checking me in and out. Thank you for a comfortable stay!

« Screeching toilet, smoky mattress, no water pressure »

Startled awake at midnight with the toilet screetching that kept going on and on. Had to flush the toilet to get it to stop. When calling the front desk, my voice was gone and had trouble breathing due to the pillow and mattress thoroughly reeking of cigarette smoke. (Should have been suspicious when the room had such a strong chemical smell to cover up the "odor".) They wanted to move us next door (where the screeching toilets adjoined) and we refused. Next offered us the room one door further away which we took. Had a terrible time trying to fall back asleep after having to move at 1am. And the mattress and pillows reeking of smoke in a NON-SMOKING ROOM was TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. In the second room, the water pressure was non-existant. Hard to even rinse off. Could have gotten wetter if I could have walked outside during a drizzle rain. Breakfast buffet was very good, constantly being refilled as needed. Coffee in lobby available all night.

« Large rooms and Nice outdoor pool/hot tub »

This is an older property with a rather weird layout, but there was plenty of parking, the rooms were large and while not stylish, they had been remodeled and maintained. It was quiet and very reasonably priced even on the weekend when other hotels jacked up prices by large amounts.

    « A Pleasant Find »

We stayed here for Cal Poly Family weekend because I waited too long to get a booking closer to campus. I was worried having not seen the property and because it was so close to the freeway but both of these worries were unfounded: There was NO Freeway noise at all. Very quiet and well sound proofed. The room was clean and spacious and comfortable. They had a nice little pool and I felt bad that I didn't have my kids pack their swimsuits. There are rooms that overlook the pool and if we stay here again, I would request one of those rooms so my teens could conveniently use the pool. Also, a good bonus for us when visiting our kid at Cal Poly: PLENTY of parking. For our last visit, we stayed in a similar hotel in Morro Bay but the parking situation was miserable. Given the choice of Morro Bay and this property, I'd stay here again just because it's so much easier to deal with parking. The two areas are about the same distance drive. We had a microwave and refrigerator. The coffee maker is a one-cup maker. I prefer hotels with the little 4-cup brewers because I can bring my own coffee and small filters from home. (I'm a coffee snob.) The breakfast wasn't enough reason to stay here. It's a standard new version of the old continental breakfast. It's on the third floor of the hotel so you have to go up to get to it. We stayed on the third floor so it was convenient. It was good for getting a little protein into my kids before we left for the day. During our stay, I Googled for a coffee place and found Joebella Coffee just down the road from the hotel and it was REALLY good.

    « Best Western Stay »

The hotel was nice and comfortable. The breakfast service which was included was okay. The dining area was continually full and had to wait for tables to be cleaned up and cleared. The dining area seemed understaffed to handle the people who were there for breakfast..

    « Vacation »

We had an enjoyable time during Harvest Weekend with wine tasting and dining in central California. The Best Western Colony Inn is located near the heart of this wine country - very convenient. The room was comfortable and fairly quiet. The breakfast offerings were healthy, tasty and filling.

« Not honoring quoted rates and even threatened that rate would be charged full rate for all 7 rooms. »

We arrived Friday 10/14/16 for a wedding at check in we noticed higher than the quoted $143 rate was charged $186,99 rate, We asked about it and was told that the Front desk manager on Sunday could look it up and correct the charges. Today at checkout we tried to approach Veronica re: the rate differences , Instead of honoring the rate Veronica threatened to increase the rate for all 7 rooms of our party to full price of $269. Asked to discuss with customer service was told that , this site was privately owned and that would not do any good to discuss with them. Asked to speak with supervisor or contact for owner was told to log complaint with corporate. I loaded my car, and moved it around to pick up other members of party that were also told no adjustment to room rate and if pushed full rate charges would be charged. I came back into lobby and was sitting where I overheard Veronica discussing the incident with one of the housekeeping staff in my opinion inaccurate and very unprofessional way. While the room was clean, housekeeping staff friendly and helpful... I can honestly say it is my intention not to stay at this site again, nor any other Best Western.

« Plus of Best Western »

The Plus in Best western hotels system is really a plus. Nothing to complain about, nicely decorated big room, quite modern, good maintained, full of amenities, wifi worked perfectly, quite for night. Little pool area in the inner yard. Breakfast is american style, plenty of options, even bacon and boiled eggs available. Check-in easy, check-out as well speedy. Would stay again once in the area.

« Meeting classmates for a concert at Vina Robles! »

This is a really nice hotel! Beautiful, quiet, very nice decor, great service, comfy bed, huge shower, yummy breakfast, close to everything I wanted. My girlfriends and I met in Paso Robles to attend a concert at Vina Robles. Of course, this hotel is in the MIDDLE of the Central Coast Wine Country so is really convenient for wine tours/tastings as well as the annual Mid State Fair. I highly recommend this facility.

« Unfriendly check in, otherwise excellent service. »

Was here for a wedding. The check in was very unfriendly but after that every other member of staff from desk, housekeeping and breakfast where excellent. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was pretty good. The location was close to all my activities for the wedding. I thought the price was a bit high compared to other properties so that lowered the value, but over all a nice stay.

« This is the place to stay in Atascadero »

This is one of the best Best Western locations and definitely the place to stay while visiting Atascadero. I always stay here while visiting, which is usually at least once a year. The location has a lot to offer and has always met or exceeded my expectations.

    « Act of Kindness-BW CUSTOMER FOREVER »

Ever have an employee go so far out of their way to help you, that you want to write about it? I haven't in a long time. But an employee at Best Western Plus in Atascadero did just that. He went above and beyond to provide me assistance, just because he could. Such a simple thing, but now, whenever I travel, BW will be my first inquiry. After a horrible battle with VRBO that never ends- it's such a pleasure to write this review. Thank you, BW!

    « No complaints! »

This was stop number 9 for us so we're getting pretty used to hotels by this point. It was comparable to the other similar accommodations we'd stayed in previously, nothing out of the ordinary. It was clean, comfortable & provided a decent breakfast spread so it was a perfectly good choice for a one night stop over.

« Best value on the Central Coast »

I enjoyed my stay. Only small problem was the picture quality of the cable TV. Some stations were blurry or did not have a signal. But this was not that big of a deal. I like this location a lot. keep up the good work!

    « Be aware »

This hotel does not offer early check in or late check out. Be aware! I called 3 times to request an early check in and they couldn't accommodate me to the type of room (2 Queens) that suited my needs. I was given a King room instead. I was told I would be given a roll away free of charge. There were 3 adults in my party. I asked for a late check out, and they could only extend it by 1 hour. I was also charged for the roll away bed!

« Nice Hotel and Rooms »

This is a nice hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff was pleasant. Area around the hotel is a little run down, but the hotel and grounds were nice. The breakfast had a good variety and their was coffee in the lobby.

« Close to Paso Robles »

Other than the hard squeaky beds, the room was OK. Hot items at breakfast could have been refreshed more often. The pool area looked inviting. As at most lodgings, the internet was not very fast. The area vineyards are quite nice, especially in the western parts of Paso Robles!

    « Great Value »

Nice hotel and value. Just minutes south of Paso Robles, less congested and less expensive. Just as close to all of the wineries. Great place to stay, check-in and check-out were quick and easy, we will return soon.

« Glad we found it. »

A final decision and last minute attempt at making a reservation resulted in limited availability and high rates. We were lucky to find a this hotel at a very inexpensive rate with a good location that provided us with a comfortable bed, good air conditioning, quiet surroundings, and a good breakfast. Also a nice pool which families seemed to be enjoying.

« Great Place to Stay »

Clean, tastefully decorated grounds; the hotel has great amenities - breakfast was plentiful and of great variety ; the pool and hot tub were great. There is also a lot of table and chairs for people to use to relax. Location makes you close to a wide variety of activities and sights. Anthony, the front desk manager/clerk, was fantastic!

« Quiet and Efficient, but... »

The staff was great, the hotel room was clean and quiet. Our stay fell while the Olympics were in progress and we wanted to enjoy the coverage on TV. Unfortunately, this hotel does not provide guests with HD channels, so the quality was poor. In addition, the physical cable on the TV was in need of repair and caused the standard definition reception to be even worse. At breakfast, most of the cooked items (waffles, eggs and sausage) had a funny taste... but this seems to be standard for these hotel breakfasts. The most important thing was the quietness of the room, which was great!

    « Clean and Comfortable »

You get a lot for what you pay for. The pool and hot tub were comfortable and clean. The breakfast had a lot of options but ends at 9am. The shower leaked so we went through a lot of towels. Other than that a peaceful relaxing stay.

« A enjoyable trip and nice hotel »

We totally enjoyed our stay at Best Western Plus in Atascadero. We were there for the Mid California State Fair and to do some wine tasting. This hotel was located perfect. The breakfast was yummy, a super nice bug room the serve it in. The service was great. Lots of smiling faces. I was greeted by friendly employees that were also very helpful with suggestions about where t visit in the area. We want to plan another trip this way an would stay at this hotel again.

    « Mid State Fair »

This was a very nice facility with a nice staff. It was quiet at night so I was able to get a good night of sleep. I was on business for the Mid-State Fair which was not too far away. My only recommendation would be to have more of a variety of breakfast items and the bathroom décor was a little dated.

    « Very Clean & Comfortable Rooms »

This hotel has very clean and comfortable rooms. They have currently upgraded their rooms and they look very nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is also very convenient and close to fwy.

A very nice place to stay. Pleasant staff and a very accommodating staff. A real bargain the price. The room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast was well presented with the food very fresh. I would recommend this location to anyone traveling in this area of California. A great place to sleep and relax.

    « We travel a lot »

It seems that we are either getting ready to go some where or returning and regrouping. We have tried other places in the Atascadero area, but we keep coming back to the Colony Inn. It suits are travel needs and peculiarities as well as being sensitive to the financial constraints imposed upon those who travel for a governmental agency. As a frequently traveler it is nice to stay at a place that is familiar and staff know you.

    « Good hotel »

I felt comfortable and safe, the service was top notch. Everything was clean, there was no noise, so you were abel to sleep well. There was shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, good wifi, free breakfast with waffle-machine, free parking. There was not a finger to put on this hotel. I would stay here again. Perfect for roadtrips, it is right next to the freeway. We were driving from Yosemite to San Francisco and needed a place to sleep on the way.

« A good clean well cared for hotel at a fair price. »

I've been staying at this hotel 2-3 times a year for the last 6-7 years. It keeps getting better! Good people, clean, comfortable and safe. A cut above the rest always reasonably priced for the area. Recently remodeled with a very nice and roomy breakfast room.

« The only Place to Stay »

The staff of this hotel goes out of their way to help in all matters. From bed to breakfast you will be glad you stayed at this hotel. They respond and implement, customers request that are reasonable. The facilities are all in working order and clean. There is plenty of staff, and they are always looking to help each guest. Security of the rooms and facilities is

    « Outstanding value »

After a long and somewhat tense drive on Highway One, we would have been content sleeping anywhere. There were many choices and we chose this priority based on previous reviews. It exceeded our expectations in all categories. The front desk was especially friendly and welcoming. The town itself looked cute and I would have gladly stayed an extra day of time allowed.

« Vacation with the family »

I was with my family on the 4th of July weekend and my first choice was the Best western Plus Colony Inn, I been here before and I had like the way I been treat by the employees very great. I like the new breakfast room since last time I was here the breakfast was serve in the hall and it was very tight, and with that I also see to very hard working employees on the breakfast room, they were Natalia and Fransine, the room was so busy but they never really run out of food, every time people were telling them there was no more ham, scramble eggs, bread, etc, they already were coming with the items to replenish the missing food. Also the place was clean and they always had a smile on their face even they were working very hard thumbs up to these 2 ladies. The hotel was very clean and the room was clean too. I definitive will be staying here next time I'm in the area

« Pleasant Surprise in Atascadero »

My wife and I were heading home from a weeks vacation and decided to stay one more night. We checked out hotels in San Luis Obispo, Atascadero and Paso Robles but most were booked. We found Best Western Plus Colony Inn in Atascadero with one King Room left and the price was right! Pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The hotel looked freshly painted on the outside and the inside smelled of new carpet and the décor was updated and room CLEAN! Great stay!

    « Well-run hotel for a great price »

Loved this hotel. Nice way-stop after a long day touring the coast from Monterey down to San Simeon. Staff is top-notch, very welcoming and professional. Rooms are decent sized, very comfortable beds, and clean. Great pool area and fitness facilities. Wi-fi was free and worked very well - not always the case at hotels. The breakfast was much better than I usually expect, fresh scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, plus the usual pastries, waffles, etc. Really good coffee, too. All for a price way, way less than hotels right along the coast. It was worth the 25-minute drive from the coast to come here. I'd gladly stay again.

    « Great Breakfast! »

The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, no lumps. Our room also came with a refrigerator and microwave. The daily breakfast was very nice. They had waffles, cereals, breads, eggs, fruit, yogurt, and breakfast meat (either sausage, bacon or ham depending on the day).

    « Paso Wine Country »

A nice hotel with very basic furniture and decor. In a quiet commercial area of town next to the 101 freeway. Good breakfast, gym, pool and spa. Close to wine area, easy access to San Simeon and other areas. If looking for luxury, don' stay here. Appealed to families with kids.

    « Business stay »

Great stay for business. Comfortable room, bed. Standard hot breakfast, nice pool, and workout area. Laundry facilities are on premises. Close to restaurants, grocery shopping, highway. Noise level from the highway was unnoticeable. Good for families too. Breakfast room has been recently updated too.

« Friendly staff and upgraded breakfast room »

I stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago, and only returned because they had sent me an email about a local wine festival. The hotel breakfast room has been seriously upgraded since I was there last time! I would definitely recommend staying here while in Atascadero. Nice rooms, friendly staff, and breakfast.

« Excellent Hotel in a Beautiful Little City »

My wife and I have visited Atascadero many times over the past 25 years, but this was the first time that we stayed in a hotel in Atascadero. My selection of the Colony Inn was based upon what I read and saw on line, and my experience here exceeded expectations. The room and personnel were great, there are many fine restaurants in town and on the coast, and Atascadero is an extremely nice city. Our 5 year old grandaughter was with us and she wants to return soon,

    « Graduation »

The hotel's interior and exterior are very nice and and our room was very spacious, clean, and well maintained. Breakfast includes: you make them fresh waffles, bacon, fresh fruit, yogurt, choice of three cereals, bread/pastries, cartons of milk, coffee, and juice. A grab and go breakfast is available if you don't have time to dine in, just inquire at the front desk. Coffee is also available in the lobby. We will stay again when in the area.

« Recomended for multi night stay »

This was an excellent Hotel, clean and well equipped, with a good breakfast. Room was spacious, but the chairs a little uncomfortable for sitting too long. The location is good for exploring the area, only half an hour from Hearst Castle, Morro beach etc. Cambria is a delight to visit. Take an opportunity to stay at this Best Western, it will not disappoint you.

« Road trip to Los Angeles »

On a road trip to Los Angeles. Service was excellent. Kelly at front desk was wonderfully helpful and friendly. The room was large and beds were very comfortable. Shower/bathroom was large. Nicely updated property. Breakfast was good. Powdered eggs, but otherwise good. Definitely would recommend!

    « Awesome Graduation Stay »

The hotel is conveniently located off Hwy 101 with plenty of guest parking. The grounds and interior of the hotel are very well maintained. Breakfast included coffee, juices, waffles, bacon, cereals, fresh fruit, milk, yogurt, cinnamon rolls and bread for toat.

    « Great night sleep! »

We were moving our son from Cal Poly and needed a room. Most of the hotels in SLO increase the prices for weekends when there will be lots of parents in SLO. We chose Atascadero, 15 miles north, and will definitely do that again. The rooms were very clean and well decorated. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The location was easy to find, even if it was farther off of the highway than I thought, but this made it quieter also. The price was reasonable. My only complaint was the breakfast. It was less than some BW hotels serve and not as tasty. The eggs were rubbery, no other choice than sausage for meat, and no waffles. I settled for cold cereal and a muffin. I would stay here again however.

« Great for overnight stay »

Enjoyed two nights here, had a lovely room, good facilites and a great view of the pool. Enjoyed a dip in the very warm pool and hot tub. Breakfast good with plenty choice. Staff very welcoming and helpful with tips on where to dine out. Overall a great place to stay for one or two nights.

    « Clean and Efficient »

We stayed here on the way to San Francisco from Los Angeles. We were happy with the accommodations. It's a good value and close to many attractions in the Paso Robles area. We had done some wine tasting in the area so this location was very convenient.

« Great Experience - work related stay this time around »

Room 302, great room, around the corner from breakfast room, top floor, so the window opens all the way, fountain is right below the window, along with a garden, so just open the window and the bubbling fountain puts your mind at ease as you drift off to sleep. Kept the window open, could smell the garden from right below the window I could open all the way, did not even have to use the A/c. Big desk, and a big bed to spread my work out on. Bathroom is tiny, so room for one at a time in there. Gift shop / market very reasonable prices. Plenty of good munchies and healthy food. Gift shop has scarves, handbags and jewelry, sunglasses, etc all very classy items, i wanted to take home at leas a dozen items. Almost all are local artisans items, and prices are very reasonable for quality, classy items! Rooms are clean, clean , clean and the whole place smells like NEW carpet. We will be back :)

    « Gouging for Festival »

The hotel is fine. It's clean and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast is average at best. The price they charged because it is festival weekend is disappointing. The location is convenient to the freeway and their is a great pizza place that delivers.

    « Wine Country Weekend »

We have stayed here numerous times. It is comfortable and clean. Right off the main freeway and near many of the wineries. Reasonably priced as compared to some of the other local hotels. There is a pool and hot tub on the grounds. There is a basic breakfast included.

« Beautiful hotel and staff »

Hotel is clean, beautiful, pool + spa - kept clean as well. The staff is amazing, the girls at the front desk really made us feel at-home and cared for. Veronica, thank you for your amazing service. Breakfast from 6-9am - in a separate conference/kitchen area. Hot food + cold food.

Wonderful. Can't wait to come back next year & see all our Wonderful friends. We may only see them twice a year - but when we get together it is like no time has past. Thank you for providing us a great place, great rooms & great parking to accommodate us for our favorite hobby.

    « Over the top »

We held an art show/sale at this facility and the staff were awesome. Professional and helpful. The day prior to the show the room was set up as promised. The Hotel rep was there to open and entertain any changes we needed. Both days she was there on and off throughout the day. great support and a wonderful facility.

« Bring back the Waffles »

Excellent accommodation, clean , friendly. Breakfast is better M-F because of the freshly made waffles. Pricing is just average, but the hotel stays full most of the time. Booking early is a must for this hotel

« Perfect Stay Except for Breakfast »

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the rooms were and also amenities like the outdoor pool. Everything in and out of the hotel was very clean and modern especially the lobby and pool area. There was not a gym on site, but guests could use the club across the parking lot. The hotel is situated close to wineries and many good restaurants. We could hear traffic noise from 101 at night, but not very loud. We would stay there again and hope that the breakfast options have improved.

    « Great customer service »

All the staff are friendly and I did not have any issues. Check in and out were quick. I book with them also because of their breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to others. Plus the next door gym is great.

    « California vacation »

This was one of the best vacations I ever took with my family. The first part of the trip we went 3 hours north of Los Angeles called Atascadero. We had a friends wedding to go to there. It was a great wedding because one great friends and two is the view and scenery in the mountains it was breath taking. We also tour a great winery in Paso Robles. The Best Western Plus Colony Inn was a great place to stay. They had a pool, great gym, and fantastic free continental breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel. I would stay there again!

    « Quite and comfortable »

Large room quite location, friendly staff. Normal hot breakfast. The are was so quite I was able to sleep with the window open instead of having the air conditioning running all night. Only draw back for me no place to walk to for dinner.

    « Chapter 6 »

Very nice hotel. Excellent accommodations and service. Room was comfortable and well appointed. Quiet neighborhood. Particularly enjoyed the association with the fitness center nextdoor. Hotedl is close to city with broad assortment of restaurants.

    « California vacation »

We enjoyed our stay. We loved the mountain drive to Morro Bay and San Louis Obispo. Room was very clean and quietly relaxing. Nice breakfast starts early .Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We used the laundry room it was clean and well lit for safety at night.

« Friendly staff and clean hotel. Great breakfast included. »

We enjoyed our stay. It was quiet, they have a nice pool and Jacuzzi. My kids loved the breakfast that is included. The beds were comfortable and the room and facility was clean and in good condition.

    « Just remodeled. »

The Best Western in Atascadero is an attractive hotel which was in the process of being refurbished during my stay. The remodeling included the addition of a new breakfast room, which was sizable and had plenty of seating. My room was large and well appointed, with a sofa, desk, and a very comfortable bed. The linens were lovely. Breakfast was a standard buffet; surprisingly, there wasn't any fresh fruit provided that morning, but there were plenty of other items to choose from. Cute gift shop in the lobby with some really nice items for sale. Very friendly staff, and a quiet location.

    « Very Good Mid-Range Hotel »

I stayed overnight at the BW+ Colony House Atascadero on my way from Riverside to San Jose, CA. Hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. The hotel's layout is a bit unusual and the architecture is somewhat dated. Two wings of the building run perpendicular to Hwy 101 with the pool between them and a conference center adjacent to the freeway. The architect deserves credit as this design greatly reduces traffic noise in the rooms. I have given the hotel three stars (not for any lack) but because I view 4-stars and 5-stars as applicable to only excellent and extraordinary properties, respectively. The BW+ Atascadero does not fall into those categories, but is still an excellent value in the highly overpriced hotel market between SLO and Paso Robles. I would definitely stay there again.

« Great Location for Paso Robles Wine Counrty »

My wife and I stayed here while we were in Paso Robles Wine Counry. The rooms we clean, staff was great and we had no issues. Great location near Hwy 101 with easy access to the hwy. We stay here in the future when we return to the area.

« don't expect early checkin even if its only 30 minutes early »

clean. nice. roomy. hot breakfast very nasty, eggs & sausage.Do not expect an early check in they will not go out of their way to get your room or see if it's ready. They just say no.My children are 2 and 4 and they would not touch their breakfast. it looked tike microwaved eggs and sausage. Overall this has been one of my favorite hotels. the stay was cozy and Im a fan of best western

« BW Colony Inn, Atascadero »

This hotel was a great find located between SLO and Paso Robles. It is very clean and well maintained. The staff if friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Everything I like to find while exploring the beautiful California coast. We started our day with a variety of breakfast options from pastries, cereal, & oatmeal to waffles, scrambled eggs & bacon/sausage. Juices, fruit & yogurt to rounded out the meal. Plenty of seating in the breakfast room and the food was well stocked. After a day of exploring, the bed was so comfortable that a good nights sleep enables you to be well resting for the next day.

« Clean, Comfortable, and Friendly »

Very convenient to the 101 Fwy. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Looks like they've been remodeled recently. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free internet worked with no problems. Free breakfast was nothing to write home about, but okay. My only complaint was the fan in the bathroom was pretty loud.

« quiet, good value, excellent staff »

a pleasure to stay at with helpful staff. Great family breakfast. We will be returning to area and planning to recommend with others in our group. Too many high-priced places elsewhere. Good family place as well as quiet for couples.

    « Pleasant stay »

I was impressed with this Best Western. The lobby was nice and they serve coffee/teas 24 hours I believe. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I was excited to use the gym next door, but unfortunately we arrived too late and it closed. The room was spacious and clean. The pool area was nice. The hot breakfast was very good. If we're ever in the area again (driving down to LA), we will definitely make a point of staying here.

I discover that hands down Best Western live up to their reputation, I did stay on other hotels during this trip (tree other hotels other than best western "big mistake" and prices differential of less than $20.00 I will recommend Best western any time Clean, good beds, attendant and any other, services, continental breakfast, can't say enough. keep the good work

    « Steady excellent hotel »

We have stayed at this Best Western a few times. Being very picky, if I was not satisfied with a hotel, I would not go back. This hotel consistently performs at a high level. The employees are excellent, from the front desk staff to housecleaning to breakfast staff, everyone seems very happy to work there and has been there a while. That says something. They take pride in the hotel. We always stay in a room off the patio near the pool. All you need to do is walk steps out your sliding door, and you are at the pool. It is a very inviting pool area always clean and well kept. The pool is warm, the lounge chairs are in great shape, and the jacuzzi always hot, even though the jets were not working this past weekend. It is in a great location, close to the freeway and to many restaurants. This will continue to be our go to place when staying in Atascadero.

    « Nice Hotel »

The Room was clean, breakfast was good and several items to choose from and pool was awesome and heated and spa was nice too. The staff very friendly and helpful. Close to the beach without beach prices.

« Great little town stay »

This was a recently renovated hotel, so everything was extremely clean and sparkling clean. Breakfast was the basics, but the staff is very friendly, courteous and helpful. This is very quiet location and close to the funky town that has a flair of old school with restaurants and movie theatre. Would highly recommend this hotel to travelers and business guests.

« Best Western Colony Inn Atascadero, Ca »

Nice, renovated hotel. Friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable. New breakfast area is very nice. Good parking. Reasonable rates. Great location just north of downtown. I recommend staying here, next time you are in Atascadero, CA

    « Inside corridors »

Nice hotel with inside corridors, and good breakfast. They said they had eggs, was expected hot eggs, but only hard boiled ones. Had waffles, meat, yogurt, juice, muffins, cold cereal, oatmeal and hot chocolate, and coffee. Very good stay, all for only about $100. We have relatives in Paso Robles, but like to stay here instead of the BW there, because of the great price and breakfast. Was a great stopover on our way down to Solvang.

    « My Stay »

I have never stayed in a Best Western and will absolutely give them consideration in the future. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly and the free breakfast was a nice plus. If you are going to the area - check this place out.

« Best value in town »

Very fair price for the ammenities. Remodeled room was far better than standard. I would definately stay in this hotel again when in the area. Clean rooms, public areas, good breakfast, free internet.

« Great Value Hotel for Paso Robles Wine Tasting »

For the past 10 years, our group has been wine tasting in this area. We've stayed at a number of places and we believe that this property offers the best value for the area. The staff is friendly. The hotel is in the final phase of a rennovation. The rooms have updated fixtures and the beds are comfortable. We had a coffee maker, refrigerator and a microwave. They added a breakfast room on the 3rd floor. The staff is attentive and friendly. The first day we had a choice of scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal and the ability to make waffles. The second day they had delicious biscuits and gravy. Scrambled eggs were also present, but the waffle maker wasn't there. They have a pool on the first floor.

« Good alternative to higher priced options »

We ended up here because HIE and Hampton in the area were ridiculously expensive. We were pleasantly surprised. This location has just been remodeled so the rooms seem pleasant and updated. The breakfast was standard motel fare, but this is a greta place to stay.

« Stille og roligt sted »

We have stayed here several times. The hotel is well located for visits to the many wineries in this area. The staff is very friendly and service-minded. Breakfast (American) is good and covers sufficiently start of the day needs. Service and friendliness are certainly in the newly renovated breakfast room. Moreover, the hotel is doing great on sympathetic restoration in several places. When the renovation is complete it will be extra good. The rooms are good and well equipped with microwave and refrigerator.

    « Grand Daughters 1st Birthday »

My eldest daughter lives in Atascadero, so when we come to visit we try to stay at the Best Western each time. This last visit we came for my grand daughter's 1st birthday. We had other guest from the party also stay there and all were quite happy with their stay. The remodel is coming along nicely and we loved the new breakfast room. My youngest son was disappointed they didn't have the waffles, so he settled for the pancakes.

    « Excellent Stay »

My sister and I had to be in town for a funeral. Kelli at the front desk was friendly and informative. She truly enjoys her position there. The Inn is very clean and comfortable. Everything was exactly as described on their web site.

    « Bathroom/Shower Experience »

The electrican made a short cut when installing the bathroom light switch which also turned on the loud fan overhead! Even with the door closed, the noise whould wake one who was still sleeping! The light switch should have been separate from the loud fan! eleanor

    « Business trip »

All was well until after I asked for my conformation for my return in two days. and after being told it was done, the morning of my check out that it had not been done and now it is full, causing me and my company to search for another hotel in the area. This extra man hours when other projects are taking place.

    « very comfortable stay »

We stayed at the Best Western Plus Colony Inn and found the staff and accommodations very pleasant. We were also very pleased to learn that they had an agreement with the adjacent gym which had two pools for lap swimming and exercise groups.

    « Bad breakfast »

Staff was unable to keep hot and cold breakfast items stocked during busy time. Greeted rudely on first night, but did not have to deal with same person later. Redecorating during holiday weekend was inconvenient for access to floors. Room was fine.

    « Treasure hunting »

We normally stay closer to beach cities. We wanted to find inland area with thrift shops and antiques. This was perfect location to start head on 101 South to other cities. We had great welcome =)You do need to drive to get food. The adjacent street has places to eat. The room was clean and freshly painted. The breakfast was fair. We look forward to seeing you on our next hunting venture.

« Best Western Plus Colony Inn & Conference Center »

I want to thank Diane Reed, Conference Center Coordinator, for making our daughters wedding reception so memorable. She was always there to help us plan things and answer all of our questions with prompt replies. She offered so many great ideas and everything went smoothly. The guests had such a great time too! She made it easy for the caterers & DJ as well. I will definitely recommend her to my family and friends as a wonderful planner & coordinator for events. We have to thank her so much for such being a huge part in the overall happiness & success of the wedding reception. John & Mary Jacobs

« Close to Paso Robles »

Don't hesitate to stay here if you are visiting the Paso Robles area. It's so close and is a good value. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean and the staff is very helpful. Next time we are visiting the area, this hotel will be my first choice. A hot breakfast is waiting for you every morning.

    « Basic »

I stayed at the Best Western Plus in Atascadero on my way to Northern California. Beautiful drive in the mountains northeast of Pismo Beach. Basic hotel in the midst of a needed update. Fairly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was crowded and the food didn't look appealing. I chose to forego the breakfast even though it was complimentary.

    « Nice hotel »

We enjoyed our night at this hotel. It was clean & updated. Room had a microwave & refrigerator. Lobby had a nice selection of drinks & snacks for purchase. It's not really within walking distance to restaurants, but they are a short drive away. I would stay here again.

« Great wine country location »

Great location with easy access to the good Paso Robles wineries on the west side. Easy access to Vineyard Drive. Decent restaurants around. Quiet. Rooms looked new, in process of remodeling. Hot tub worked great, better than most. Pool was outdoors but didn't seem warm.

« Hotel is very clean »

This hotel is very clean & staff is very friendly. They are currently making renovations to this hotel & i love the new breakfast area. Can't wait to see the rooms once all the changes are made. The rooms are looking nice so far.

    « A Weekend Getaway »

After driving 4 hours it was late and I was tired but Veronica checked us in quickly and efficiently. She gave us a room (322) that was very large and nicely appointed. The bed was great and everything was in perfect working order. The pool was beautiful but it was raining so I couldn't use it. I forgot my razor and Veronica had one for me. She was extremely helpful with directions and my short stay was perfect.

« Good Place to Rest Your Head »

Nice place to rest your head, hotel is going through a semi-update. The beds are extremely comfortable, we slept like babies at the end of the day. The room was very clean and well appointed. Coffee pot, microwave and refrigerator in room. Nice upgraded bathrooms. Three downs for us: The heating system needs a serious overhaul as does their bathroom fans. They both are extremely noisy. Plus no plugs for our electronic devices next to the beds, we used extension cords from across the room. The heating system was so noisy as was the fan in the bathroom. At night even though it was cold we just shut the heater off so we could get a good nights sleep and not have to hear the sound of the heater noise. We brought a timer light with us so we could have light on in the bathroom and not have to hear the really loud fan in the bathroom at night. On another visit we did report the heater and bathroom fan. As far as the heater we were told it needed to warm up. After 4 days you would think they would be warm enough. This hotel is very clean, the staff is extremely friendly and the beds are comfy, freely painted, newly carpeted. Furniture is dated, could use a facelift.

    « Stairs are noisy! »

We had an accessible room here, which is at the very back of the hotel, next to the stairwell. The stairs are made of some sort of composite, so they are very noisy when people use them, especially children who tend to run up and down stairs. Fortunately, they went to bed early, so the late night noise wasn't as bad. The room was very large and clean; everything was functional, with a great roll-in shower. Breakfast was very good, with lots of choices, very fresh food and well-stocked. The location is somewhat isolated, but not too far from the town area. Easy access from the freeway.

« Best Western Rewards Member »

Second stay in this motel. Lobby was in the process of remodel on the first stay. Staff told me dining area is moving upstairs out of hallway area currently in use, this will be a very good improvement to this location.

    « Good value »

Well-run hotel with good access to Atascadero and Paso Robles attractions. Good value compared to other area options. Very clean room and hot food items for breakfast. Hotel employees were friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

    « Overnight Stopover »

We were on a stopover on our way to Las Vegas.Hotel was very clean and beds were comfortable, the girl at the front desk was wonderful and very helpful, would definitely stay again. Breakfast in the was good, not great but good.

    « Atascadero »

We have stayed at the Atascadero Best Western previously and have been very pleased every time. We have stayed at other locations and this is our favorite. We look forward to our return trip. Great value for the area.

    « Decent stay »

We (a family of 5 - 2 seniors, 2 adults and 1 pre-teen) stayed at this BW with good satisfaction. Overall, we had a pleasant stay with some minor recommendations. The rooms are in average size and the hotel is still under renovation to update its amenities. The renovation however is very quiet. We love the hot breakfast which is different everyday (we stayed for 3 nites). The free access to the Kennedy Club (a full health club) is very good. The health club has outdoor pool and indoor heated pool plus new workout machines. We enjoyed the workout very much. With this price, the hotel is an excellent stay for the money: room with frige and microwave, full hot breakfast, free access to a health club next door (within 5 mins walk). You cannot beat the price. We will definitely recommend people to stay in this hotel again if they visit Atascadero.

    « Great Hotel »

Service Outstanding, Rooms very Clean, Breakfast Great. Easy access from interstate, parking lot very well lit, all employees went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable and a Great Experience!

    « Eh. »

Well, we thought it was a nice place to stay until we found out one of the beds was broken and so squeaky and loud every time my friend moved it woke us both up which made her not want to move at all and then had a bad night's sleep. Also the sink was completely stopped up so that we had to brush our teeth looking at each other's spit, GROSS. Thirdly, the fridge in the room cycled about every 30 minutes, also very loud and disruptive through the whole night. So although the hotel was clean, staff very friendly, I left a complaint at front desk and was told the manager would call me later that day and I never received a call :/

    « caring quality staff »

even though this hotel was gong through renovations the staff was great and made sure everything stayed as clean as possible. decent breakfast food and conveniently located to the freeway and lots of good restaurants close by and shopping options everywhere. SLO county is a fun area to explore. Morro ay is a beautiful place to go get some lunch and walk around.

« Under construction but still worth it! »

The property is under some minor remodeling but still very nice and worth the price! Clean, comfortable rooms. Great staff. Good breakfast. Overall a great night's stay. Best Western always has a quality room and staff. They never disappoint. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the central coast. It is affordable and conveniently located to SLO, wineries, 45 minutes to the coast/Morro Bay, 5 minutes to Paso Robles wine county.

    « Great customer service »

I realized once I arrived that expedia reservation was booked for a future date and not the date I had intended. The staff got me a great rate on a room despite my lack of reservation, on a Saturday. I signed up for their Rewards Program and actually am already booked for a future stay, secondary to expedia not refunding my incorrect date for reservation. We hadn't planned a second trip, but the customer service made it an easy decision. Room accommodations were awesome! Customer service was amazing! Bed comfort for the price was the only negative.

    « Friends »

Nice rooms and staff. We stayed for an event that we had at the conference center and the convenience of location was perfect. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family in the future. We thought the value was good for the quality we received. It was nice to have the breakfast service since there are no restaurants in the near vicinity.

    « Nice Place »

Of course, all hotels in the whole area stiff you for the price of the room due to the Wine Festival, but in comparison to the lowest priced places, which can be a bit seedy, Best Western is a better option. The staff was very cordial and helpful. Coffeemaker in room is always a plus for me. Breakfast is pretty decent. Small selection of food items are available in gift shop, and fridge and microwave are a plus because local restaurants close at 8:30 pm.

    « Spacious and comfortable »

I'm impressed by this hotel. It's close enough to Paso Robles while saving some money you'd spend staying in Paso. Spacious, clean, comfortable beds and a wonderful shower! No tub, but I prefer showers anyway. Room has a refrigerator, microwave, iron board and sofa with 2 queen beds. The bathroom is equipped with Pantene shampoo, cue tips, make up remover, shower cap plus usual soaps and lotion. The Breakfast is on site, with waffle maker!! Yummy! We also had Denver omelet and sausage. I'm going to stay here again next time I go wine tasting. Save yourself some money, it's only a 7 minute drive to downtown Paso. I didn't get a chance to use the pool or jacuzzi it looks nice too.

    « Don't Use The "Safe WiFi" »

We will never stay in this hotel or any other Best Western again. We signed into the "Safe WiFi" and were hacked by several parties. I personally was hacked by someone in India. Also, our toilet was broken and leaking and the room had a strange odor. There are many other hotels in the area and I would suggest staying there.

    « Business stay »

All of the staff were great. I did not have any issues and I would recommend Best Western. Also, access to the local gym was a plus. The checking in and out was also quick and easy. I plan on staying again at a Best Western.

« Better than most and slightly out of town »

The room was good value and the service welcoming. The pool retained some sun quite late into the afternoon and was situated between the 2 wings and private. The room itself was well appointed and fairly large - we slept very well. A book of local menu's was available in the front lounge for guests to a good place to eat which I found helpful. A good breakfast was available quite early and remained open until about 10.00am. We would use this hotel again if in the area

    « Horrible check in »

When we arrived to check in to the hotel, the lobby was chaotic a tour bus had just arrived and the two customer service clerks were trying to help 60 guest from the tour bus. We got in line to check in and were in line for about 30 minutes, the person in front of me reached the counter and he checked in, then he decided to start calling his friends from the tour bus to check in with him, the clerk allowed him to take people behind me in line to check in. I asked the clerk to call the manager in charge, the general manager of the property comes out of his office and tells me patients patients, You do not tell a customer to have patients when he has been waiting 45 minutes to check into his room after a long drive. You offer an apology for the inconvenience, he was sitting in his office the whole time that these two clerks were trying to help 60 plus customers. Later I see him in the hallway and he tells me that the tour bus was unexpected and he did the best he could. I told him that he should have been out there helping the two clerks check in customers and he should have helped the non tour bus customers. He replied how would I know who was not on the tour bus, my reply you could have asked. Needless to say I will never stay at this property again, and I may not stay at Best Western again.

« Toilet broke in the Executive Suite »

My stay here was absolutely terrible - on the second day of my stay in the so called Executive Suite of the hotel, the toilet handle simply fell off and we could not use the toilet. We paid over $200 a night for the room and I was stunned that a handle could simply fall off a toilet!. We were in a rush to leave back home since we were checking out and now we could not use the bathroom prior to our 5 hour drive back home. Instead of being sympathetic with us for the tremendous inconvenience we had to endure the front staff instead gave an attitude and a small $30 concession on our price. Additionally the staff made it appear like they were doing us a favor by giving us the $30 concession off of the second night of our $200 per night executive suite room!! I have stayed in many hotels across the US and around the world and I have never had to endure the problems with the toilet and staff like I had to endure at the Best Western Plus Colony Inn.

    « confusing stay »

i have to give this location a 6 out of 10, disappointed in no hd signal and water was shut down for couple of hours. the location isn't very easy to spot and it's not exactly off the main highway. the only thing we really enjoyed was the free hot breakfast.
