"Wost night of our life"

Fist room AC didn't work so they moved us to 2nd room where the bathroom ceiling collapses 2:15 in the morning full of mold. Please see attached pictures.Didn't even offer for us to stay in a different room just refunded our money and didn't even apologize for us being stuck in DC without a hotel.

Free parking and a nice breakfast with lots of choices and a large seating area. Their shuttle runs every half hour to the Pentagon City metro stop and shopping mall. There is a pool but we were too busy to use it. We parked our car when we arrived and did not use it again until we left 6 days later. We saw most of the Smithsonian museums, national Archives, Monuments and Arlington Cemetery. I would recommend this hotel for sightseeing the capitol.

Good experience in my visit. Traditional motel. Rated the following: Plus: Great Customer Service by front desk staff and management, clean rooms, restaurant by car and take out options, pool, free breakfast, Free shuttle service to Metro Station & Washington DC Airport. Challenges/Suggestions to Mgt: Shuttle Service is packed during peak hours and runs every 30 minutes. Can be a challenge if you are trying to catch a flight or start your day early in DC. Management should consider a larger van or have people make reservations for a seat. Breakfast area gets busy, so be prepared. Recommend management to have takeout trays for guest to take and go back to room or other seating areas(Large seating areas are available outside the main building and in ice/vending areas. Overall, motel is great for families, budget business travelers(Business Center Available for use) and couples.

Old Style Hotel with Several Wings!! Stayed there one night for the flight home, room was clean, but old, A/C in the wall. We did not feel secure at this hotel! Could not find and ice machine, no signs either. Easy access to the Regan Airport.

The room looked beat up when we walked in, but it was 11:00pm and we had a toddler to put to bed. Quickly discovered AC didn't work, tub and toilet leaked too. The hot water knob was scalding to touch when the water was on (not safe). Staff said we couldn't move due to capacity and it couldn't be repaired tonight. Offered no price reduction but just told us we could leave. Supposed to stay 2 nights but that will not be happening.

I stayed here for one night for business - checked in and there was a super strong midlew mold smell to the point where it was hard to breathe. After about an hour I called the front desk and asked to move rooms and I was moved to a room that was completely opposite of the first one. Clean, no smell, renovated.

Stayed here before a flight out of Reagan airport. Room was clean and recently updated. Best price in the area for a stay during the week. Friendly staff, clean room, free breakfast, plus extended parking and shuttle ride to and from the airport. Water pressure for the shower was great. You can here a bit of outside noise but overall during our stay it was fairly quiet during the night. Choose a room away from the road and you really can't go wrong for the price.

Very close to Metra and popular attractions. Nice neighborhood and my family felt safe. Need to check out the local seafood resturaunts, as the food is fresh. Also this place has a gift shop for last minute gifts.

This hotel is in a great location. The staff was friendly and professional. The room and lobby was cleaned. The shower had the best pressure. I will definitely book this hotel for my construction crew.

It is dated but was very clean and absolutely no odors. Staff was very nice and accommodated all our travel questions with regards to the area. Good breakfasts and the staff there was GREAT. It's not a 5 star but great beds, rooms, accommodations, clean and we rested quite well for the multiple night stay. I recommend it highly! I find myself looking for locations that a Best Western can accommodate us.

Perfect hotel for my Washington tourist trip! Went to Washington to see historic sites, not to stay in fancy hotel. Clean, comfortable, convenient without breaking the bank! Airport, rail and bus transit close and easy. Staff was nice and wanted to work. Had nice breakfast and gift shop. No onsite restaurant but had fridge, microwave, coffee maker in room. Free WiFi.

Hotel was conveniently located near the highway and the cemetery. Shuttle to airport and metro was a plus for sure. I liked the staff and the breakfast was very good . The rooms however need updated very badly. All in all it suited our purpose.

In early April 2018, my aunt forgot her money and jewelry in the hotel safe, and the manager was incredibly kind and diligent in reporting, packing and mailing. We enjoyed our stay, It has very good shuttle service to airport and metro running every 15 minutes. Bed was comfortable and room nice. It had a faucet that needed some attention but was not a problem that caused us to much problems.

There are many options in the area at 200$ and up in the area. This was a hotwire deal and this is where we were sent. Yes the hotel is not new,but is in nice condition. The room we had was fine.Hotel shuttle to DCA and Pentagon City Metro were excellent. Breakfast was above average . Rooms were clean Lots of TV options at night upon returning to hotel. Stayed 3 nights,left at 9 am returned at 10 pm. every day for sightseeing. Did not spend a lot of time there at the hotel. Shirlington downtown area is a nice spot about a mile away. Mt Vernon was very easy with the Yellow Huntington Metro and Faifax 101 bus. You can also use the 87/84 bus to the Metro from the Hotel If you are a senior cost is 1$. Bus stops are right on the side street next to the hotel. When you travel to DC pick your time accordingly. We picked the first week in May to see Pirates vs Nats at Nationals park. Most attractions had a lot of School groups with 8th grade trips. I would stay again at this location. Probably on the next trip I would pick a better time of the year to avoid the school groups .Better hotel deals/ Just less tour busses in the area

I like the good quality of service I receive at Best Western hotels. The location into DC was quick and transportation affordable. Although rates were a little high since there was no soda or snack machines and no ice, the service, courteous staff and cleanliness of our hotel.

Located near a metro but not close enough to walk so need to use either your own transportation or the free shuttle provided by the motel to take you. Parking is free if you have a car. Breakfast is one of the best we've found with lots of variety hot and cold. Has a very large eating area so never had to wait for a table to open up. Beds are very nice and comfortable. Rooms come with a micro/fridge and keurig as well as an in room safe (ours didn't work) hairdryer, ironing board. Room to room noise could be an issue. Price is excellent but would rethink this lodging based on location.

All rooms are next to a parking lot. Colony of ants in my bathroom. Pink mold surrounding bathroom door frame. Rust in bathtub. Went to breakfast,very limited. I got brown flavored water only after I experimented with multiple machines. Worker saw me struggling and when I went to get food, shut the door on me and said they were closed. If you don't have to stay here, I wouldn't.

This property is a bit dated as far as decoration and room quality, but you can expect that when making reservations at a budget hotel. I did notice that there is some obvious work that needs to be done to the ceiling in certain sections of the hotel (breakfast hall and room ceilings were bowing). The room service was great, timely and the staff were very courteous and the check in and out process was easy. I did have a miscommunication with the breakfast times, which led me to missing breakfast once. I ended up being very hungry that day. A suggestion to staff and management would be to make absolutely sure that you give the right times for breakfast in person upon check in, make sure the information is posted properly on your website and make sure that the information is posted properly in written materials. All three of which were communicated to me improperly.

From the outside it looks old but the rooms have been remodeled and are nice. Simple and clean. Good location. Not far from things in Arlington and close to D.C. Has a really nice continental breakfast.

This was our second stay at this hotel. We love the location and the shuttle service from hotel to Metro. The hotel was safe, clean and the staff are very friendly. The only problem was the bad WIFI signal.

I chose this hotel because it was affordable. The value was very good compared to other places. Don't expect luxury here. It's more basic and motel-like with exterior entrances to the rooms. It was fine for one night and the room was comfortable. My only complaint was the breakfast experience - it was WAY too crowded! I couldn't find a seat when I went in. There were a lot of school groups visiting and I think the hotel was completely sold out when I stayed. The hotel does provide a shuttle to/from the airport and the Pentagon City metro station, which is convenient.

We booked 11 months in advance for a 2 bedroom suite and a King Room. Apparently this was not enough notice as when we arrived there was neither room/suite available, even after confirmation at time of booking and 24 hrs prior. 2 queen rooms later we were all settled into our digs which were surprisingly good noting the poor start and the appearance of the neighbourhood. My only complaint about the room was the A/C struggled to achieve the desired temperature. The breakfast was standard hotel fare, no bacon in our 2 day stay but plenty of turkey and pork burgers consecutively. They offer a free shuttle to the metro which is handy as long as you don't mind waiting out the front with 20 of your closest friends for a 12 seater, hence you may not get the first bus. Other than that it's not bad value.

The guest services manual indicates a hot breakfast every day until 10am. In reality, the 10am ending only occurs on weekends. Weekdays, breakfast is served only until 9am. Be careful if you rely on this meal as the hotel's location is in a food desert. There are no restaurants within a reasonable walking distance. Rooms don't have fridges nor microwaves.

Great location with easy transportation to the Metro. Friendly staff. Helpful morning breakfast and hot coffee available all day. Bring your k-cups as they have a Keurig in-room. But make sure to ask for a renovated room. Since it's a motel, there is nothing much to do, especially if the pool isn't open. Be aware that a couple of the shuttles are hard to step up and step out of if you have any mobility issues, as they are not ADA compliant. Request a fridge early and check in early in order to get one. Breakfast is good with the usual things to choose from, but make sure to get to breakfast before 9am as the doors promptly close. Biggest surprise -- the bed was excellent! You get what you pay for -- good value for a motel, good central location. Staff is working hard to keep their property as best as it can be, so I hope the magic wand of overall renovation helps it out as time goes on.

The room needed updating. When the people in the room above our room would use the toilet or shower it sounded like it was in our room!!! We heard every car or truck that went past our room. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The cleaning staff spoke little English which made communication difficult.

I did not realize it was a "motel" or I likely would have chosen a different place to stay, but this stay ended up being okay. i just feel a bit safer in a hotel, not so sure about these rooms that have an entrance to each room. They had my daughter and I way at the end, alone I think as I didn't see any other rooms occupied and I asked if we could be moved closer to civilization because it was a new area for me, and I watch a lot of ID channel, and so they moved me right away. They mentioned the area being really safe, but when you don't know you don't know and just would like to be safe. The next place had ants in the bathroom, which I figured I would deal with as it was only a few.. but the next morning they had taken over the room, and i really dint want to complain, (again) but I should be able to be comfy where I am staying, so I did bring that up, and they moved me again, no problem. The guy came and sprayed as I was moving, and it was an end unit, so bugs easily can get in I imagine. I prayed nothing was wrong with the last room, and it wasn't. After the REALLY loud kid in the room next door settled down finally, it was fine! I think they just let him wear himself out and then go to sleep, as around 9:30/10 that first night there I didn't hear him anymore.

While the facility is in our opinion dated and in need of restoration, the breakfasts were excellent. With hot food, cereals, juices, coffees and fresh fruits. A noisy heater/air conditioner unit was quickly replaced. The all weather carpeting outside the rooms is due for replacement. Noise from children in adjacent rooms was easily heard through the walls. Check in and check out processes were prompt and efficient. We used Lyft for easy access to Washington D.C. and back.

Ready for weekend. Cool and windy outside, room also cool. Arrived at midnight, Great location about a 10 min taxi ride from Reagan Taxi ride cost $16.80 Hotel offers shuttle but only from 7 am to 10 pm Room was 2 queen beds and 2 sinks Love it ! Makes getting ready so much easier. I could not get room warmed up though. Breakfast good, extremely busy with school groups on Thursday. Shuttle available to airport and metro blue line. Room rate good

Originally put off by some reviews and pictures of this hotel before we actually got there BUT this place was great. The staff was excellent! Our room was clean! You could not get a better location for the price. We would absolutely stay here again. Pros: Great breakfast with lots of options, clean room, shuttle to metro station and airport, accommodating friendly staff, affordable Cons: No cots available to rent which is hard when your traveling with 3 kiddos. But that is honestly the worst thing I could say about this place.

This is an older hotel, that needs updating. Our room was clean, but the door was hard to close, the bathroom door did not fit properly a would not close. One day house keeping did not leave any towels. The breakfast was good and the front desk was helpful with directions. It is close to the Metro station, however the shuttles were not reliable to the station. They were supposed to run every half hour, but most of the time there would not be enough seats and you had to wait outside in the cold. Over all it was clean, but next time might spend a little more to stay elsewhere.

We went DC to attend our Deaf Grassroots Movement Rally and it turned out a wonderful day because we know we have a good place to rest. Then other few days, we went to many different places - it was so nice knowing we have a place to sleep again. This room use only during sleep hours. All other rest of waking hours we are not there! So price are pretty good deal!

My quick review is: AVOID this dump even if it was the last place on earth to offer shelter. Here's the long-winded review: I hadn't stayed at a Best Western in over 30 years and decided to take a chance with this one. I was expecting decent accommodations nothing extravagant but not something shabby either. First of all I didn't know this was a "motor inn", i.e., rooms facing the parking lot. It wasn't a big deal, however when I pulled up to the building and started up the staircase, I noticed the ratty steps with peeling "friction tapes" (the kind that is applied to prevent slipping). When I entered our room I was completely underwhelmed by the decor and furnishings. I felt more so when I noticed the poor fit and finish of various items: the entrance door that didn't appear from inside the room to have closed flush, the shower/toilet door that won't shut at all, the really shoddy job of plaster on a patch of ceiling over one of the beds, the peeling sheetrock in the ceilings, and the bath towel rack which looked like it might come off the wall at any moment. The first impression of the facility was "ughh!". It looked tired, worn, and badly in need of a complete renovation. The shower faucet (which looked like it was installed in the 1980s) kept dripping water, the toilet tank would periodically flush by itself, and one of the hand towels was soiled and stained. Also note that the ceiling height in the vanity and bathroom area is only about 7 feet high which makes for a very claustrophobic feeling. To add to the poor aesthetics and malfunctions was the miserable sandpaper textured toilet paper and facial tissue. Lastly, although it was easy to connect to the WiFi the service itself was horrendous. There would be long periods of time when network traffic (in-/out- bound) slowed down to a crawl or wouldn't get through at all. I dare say that 25 years ago the old dial-up modem was faster. I was led to wonder if this facility had even heard of high-speed Internet! On the plus side (yes there were some): the mattress was comfortable enough (although the mini pillows were terrible - because they were too small), and the vanity sink was equipped with a granite countertop albeit looking completely out of place for this dump; and housekeeping service was admirably very efficient. If my experience thus far wasn't bad enough from an aesthetics and functionality viewpoint, my review wouldn't be complete without a horror story: On the last night of our stay two guests (a male and female) in the room next to ours made a noisy arrival at 1:00 a.m. and continued to be noisy until 4:00 a.m. I immediately tried to reach the front desk several times to complain. The attendant finally picked up the phone around 3:00/3:30 a.m. I'm not really sure if they were the normal sort of guests, or just hotel staff using the room to unwind, or perhaps if it was being used by some other interlopers for nefarious activities. Apart from losing sleep, I was subject to severe stress which took a good two days (after returning home) to recover. These pluses for me however are NOT ENOUGH to warrant staying at this or another Best Western ever again.

"All but ruined vacation"

Where to start. I've stayed at a lot of hotels due to traveling for my previous career. This ranks up there as one of the worst. For starters one of our rooms wasn't ready at check in. Ok no big deal. Get into other room and no fridge or microwave. Again really no big deal. But really suprised a hotel/motel doesn't just have this in every room these days. This place advertises that they have shuttles to and from metro that run every half hour. What they don't tell you is that due to lack of seats, you will wait 1.5-2 hours waiting for your turn to ride the shuttle. Really hard to do with small kids. Especially when weather is in the 40's. did I mention you have to wait outside for the shuttle? On the third day of our vacation we find out that they are running three shuttles. (We used uber after first day). So we give shuttles another shot. Three shuttles running every half hour should be plenty. Turns out they are running one shuttle each half hour. What's the point of having three if only one at a time. Back to uber we went. Breakfast ends at 9. Which is fine. I can work with that. But last ten minutes staff are yelling at you to hurry up buffet closes. Basically treating you like a drunk at last call. Then at nine they close off the room where buffet is. With people still inside room. Now they have to try and open door with juice and plate of food without spilling. I was waiting on scrabbled eggs that came out at 8:55. I was third in line and barely made it out before doors closed. They threw away over half the pan of eggs. Would have been enough for 8-10 people. We then tried to do a load of laundry at one of the pay machines. Put money in, machine starts adding water then just stops. Turns out all three machines are broken. I hard to push one of the bedroom doors with all my weight to get deadbolt to shut. Luckily we had adjoining rooms so we could just use one door. Then there is the poor desk clerk. I watched as this poor person had three parties on hold on the phone while having two groups trying to check in. The bad part was that two different people came out of an office from behind the counter and another came out of another office. Of those three people two went outside for a cigarette and one went to get coffee. No one help the desk clerk!!! Very poor service. My advice is to stay away from this hotel. Find anywhere else!! Very disappointed that this is able to have best western name on it. I wish I could give less than one star!

The condition of the room speaks for itself. Wallpaper peeling off. Water faucet loose and missing covers. Carpet is dark and dirty. Molds on the walls. The pillows and beds smells & needs to be sanitized.

"Cheap hotel close to DCA, airport transfer"

We have stayed here one night because our early flight next day. We have choosen this hotel, because they have a free airport transfer. The transfer runs each 30 minutes, the airport is ~10 minutes from the hotel. The hotel rooms are very average it would need some update, but it worth the price for one night.

This is a very good hotel at a good rate $87 per night. The staff is very courteous, the room was clean and everything in working order. Is a high traffic hotel and for that reason you cannot expect everything to be new but at least was in good working order. I'm very satisfied with my stay especially with the accessibility of the hotel. Almost forgot the included breakfast was great... it was plenty of everything.

I was attending a conference in January and thought that this would be a good alternative to the downtown hotels. The shuttle service to the metro line worked fine and the staff was friendly. The big problem is that their pipes freeze in the winter. On the day I was to give my paper there was no water because of frozen pipes and could not shower or shave before my presentation. Also had a problem with blown fuses.

DC was a tad booked when we visited. I first like to say that I am a picky traveler. As a traveling corporate sale rep I have stayed in countless places. First off, this is a hotel geared toward a very budget oriented traveler in a certain income range. If you drive a nice car, you may have qualms about parking here. The hotel needs renovation. The doors face the outside like a motel 6. Room: you can see that the maid tries hard to provide a clean room despite some bug problems. The front desk is very friendly and professional.

We stayed here after a long bus ride from Hartford via New York. The room was clean and spacious and we had a massive King Size bed, which was badly needed after a tiring day. The staff were friendly and breakfast good too. The only complaint we have is that it's location is a bit out of the way if you want to explore and late at night there isn't much near by. Perfect for the weary traveller and no complaint about the facilities. Great to recharge so that you can get on with the rest of your journey.

First off...VERY generous room size. Also includes a mini fridge and microwave. The breakfast included is a good spread and the seating area is plentiful. We actually had two rooms over two nights. The first room was fine, except for a the weird proximity of the toilet roll holder to the toilet! It was basically up against your leg. (Room 143) The next morning after breakfast the water tank of our toilet stopped refilling so the front desk said they would send someone to check it out after we left for the day. When we returned we discovered the issue hadn't been rectified so they moved us to a new room quite quickly. Pretty impressive considering they were pretty much fully booked as the area had suffered serious power outages and the rooms were filling up. Can't speak to the proximity to the airport as we drove into town but would definitely stay here again if in town.

We booked this location for its proximity to the DC area. While we had a car and did not need a shuttle, the hotel offers shuttle service to DCA airport. The same shuttle also brought us to a nearby station on the Metro line, from which we could access the Smithsonian museum area in 3 easy stops. This saved us from the headaches of driving and parking in DC. Customer service at the desk was courteous and efficient. The room was clean, neat, fine for a non-luxury short stay.

Needed a room after my flight finished in DCA at 1130 pm. Had booked it earlier strictly because of its name and shuttle service. When I called to co firm my late arrival I was informed their shuttle service stops at 9pm. It doesn't start again until 7 am. Too late and not early enough for most business travelers. And it's in the Opposite direction from the Pentagon! For a newly renovated property,it's not very good. Shabby comes to mind. Include a $15 cab in each direction and to say the least, it isn't a deal. Spoke with manager,he didn't seem to care or offer to pay for cab. Front desk clerk was friendly and offered to have a cab waiting in the morning for me,which was actually a few minutes early. I will not be staying here again,and I'll pay more attention in the future.

Good location just off the highway and close to airport but this place needs to redo the rooms. Had to have maintenance come to repair A/C there was mould growing in the bathroom and wallpaper peeling from the walls. Also the shower in the bathroom only had minimal water flow as the plunger that stopped the flow into the bathtub was only able to be shut part way. Good breakfast and very polite and helpful shuttle drivers but generally give this place a miss.

Firstly the name is pretty deceptive. It's not that near Reagan Airport or the Pentagon… The rooms are straight out of the 1960s and the climate control smelled so moldy I doubt the hvac systems have been cleaned or maintained since then. Probably very unhealthy. The other terrible thing about this hotel was the shuttle service. They took an hour or more to pick me up from the airport (not rush hour, it's a 15 minute ride from the airport to this hotel) and when I called the front desk they claimed it was due to traffic. I looked at google maps which verified this was a lie. On the way back the shuttle was at least 15 minutes late, and the front desk said the same thing. A walk around the hotel discovered this was another lie from the front desk as the bus driver was sitting around smoking a cigarette. Fraudulent “every half hour” shuttle service. The staff at this hotel is lazy and untrained, and the maintenance/upkeep is worthless. Best Western should do some quality control and make this place get its act together. The owners of this place should be embarrassed. Stay elsewhere.

This is my second time staying at this Bestwestern. It is convenient right off the interstate and a quick ride into DC. The Indian woman at the desk is always so pleasant at check in. The van driver who took us to the airport "saved the day" for me. I had my purse in the top of a tote bag and it fell out on the floor of the backseat. I didn't realize I'd left it in the van because my driver's license and boarding passes were in my coat pocket. Only when I got to the departure gate did I realize I'd lost my purse. We called the hotel who called the van driver who then found it in his vehicle. He brought it back to the airport and took it into Delta's check-in desk. I was paged to go get it. I can't tell you how relieved I was. The purse had my wallet with credit cards and cash. Replacing the cards would have been a tough job. I wish I could have rewarded the driver. He was wonderful. Rosa at the check-in desk printed out our boarding passes the night we arrived. She was very pleasant and helpful.

I've stayed here a few times.... The hotel is conveniently located just outside of Washington,DC so if your a planning to a night of heavy drinking and partying you don't have far to travel when you want to rest. However, the hotel is over due for some major remodeling. The hotel itself is not dirty, it's just that the rooms and bathrooms are outdated and are in need of a makeover. The staff is polite, friendly, and very accommodating.

I travel frequently for business. This property would suffice in an emergency, however I called my company and asked that they find a different property. The check in area is cluttered. I arrived after dark, close to 7 pm. The rooms are exterior entry rooms, no hallways. You enter from a parking lot with cars outside the window. You check in and have to cross parking lots for entry into the room. It is located on a very busy intersection at a highway exit ramp. There is only one location within walking distance for food at a motel next door. Upon entry, I noticed the pipes underneath the sink are fully exposed, dropped ceilings in the bathrooms, there is a small table underneath a television screen hanging on the wall. there is no comfortable space to work. The internet did not work. The rooms are very tired and require complete renovation. The chain on the door appeared to be loose and coming off the wall. I was concerned about safety and cleanliness and felt very uncomfortable. In addition, I did not pay a budget rate for this property even though I am ranking this as a budget property with consideration to DC hotel rates. It appeared to be a busy hotel and I did see other guests that appeared to be traveling on business.

On the morning of check in date the General Manager Michael said he cannot honor the booking.com reservation and asking me to pay $81 for one night stay other wise my reservation will be canceled. This is not a first class experience but for the Price it was outstanding. The staff were excellent. The room was adequate and everything worked. It was clean. The full breakfast was better than some other bigger brand name hotels. There is a shuttle every half hour to take you to airport and metro. The thing I didn't like as much was no elevator to the 2nd floor and this is an old style motel with doors outside entrance of each room. I wouldn't feel comfortable walking around the area alone at night. But i did not have any problem. So overall this is a thumbs up recommendation. I would stay there again.

The hotel allows for privacy...decent restaurant directly behind building. Nice helpful staff...shuttles on time and dependable to the train stations every half hour from Pentagon City mall. Weekend rates were great but doubled during the weekdays...bc of those who work in the area...the rooms are in more demand during the week which is unusual considering most large cities are less expensive during week days/more on weekends. Had a wonderful time...front desk happy to assist in finding taxis or refer for tourist fun. They had a great free breakfast on the weekends with full waffle bar and cooked eggs/bacon, and pastries...fresh juices as well...excellent food and friendly staff.

This hotel is in an excellent location for touring Washington DC and its suburbs The free shuttle to the Metro was a big plus, and the breakfast was outstanding with many selections and hot items. The room was spacious and comfortable, however it was in need of a major renovation. We stayed for 8 nights and did a lot of touring, so did not spend a great deal of time in the room. Our room was comfortable, but clearly in need of an overhaul. So location is great, but rooms are average to poor, depending on your expectations.

With our Daughter and Charles ( Husband ) new parents with their first child ( Lee ) my wife and I decided to stay at a nearby hotel. We chose this Best Western and were very happy with our choice. My party of four stayed here for one night for a park, sleep, fly out of Reagan Airport. the front desk here is extremely kind and went out of their way to make us feel very welcome. our room was quite large as far as most hotels go in D.C. the best part is the huge free breakfast in the morning - scrambled eggs, yogurt, sausage, make your own waffles, pastries - there is something for everyone. the shuttle to and from the airport is great, but it runs every thirty minutes, so if it is full, you will have to wait until it returns, so plan ahead!

The place needs a serious facelift and some training for the cleaning staff. The carpet is actually white with dust at all of the edges and in all of the corners. The grout in the bathroom is black (but putty colored at the top of the wall base) and there were soap streaks under the non-skid bathmat from the previous guest - gross. The little strip of paper that claims the toilet has been sanitized does not come off as credible, given the balance of the room's 'features'.

If you like motel style hotels this Best Western is for you... not for me.. I like staying in a self contained hotel...so I was very disappointed and aghast when I arrived at the Best Western PENTAGON motel style hotel. Overall the staff were professional and friendly. I just didn't like having to leave my room to go outside to another building to get ice, or snacks, and yet to another building to eat breakfast. In the future when AAA is booking my reservations for hotels that they recommend I will be sure to ask the question .;... Is the hotel a motel or a self contained hotel? I suggest you do the same.

not set for wheels. Every part of this property requires the ability to go up at least 1 six-inch step. There is no elevator to the second floor. Most rooms required three or four steps. The property is so run down and old it is in desperate need of a renovation. In our room a hot Pot or round heater had burned the rug, and clearly nothing had ever been done to fix it. While the room was minimally clean, it was clear that no deep cleaning had been done in a long time. Corners, baseboards, edges, windows, etc were all pretty grimy. The staff were wonderful though. I think they felt bad about the condition of the property. They were cheerful and helpful and available. How this property qualifies for even the most basic BW standard, I do not know.

Stayed here on a family trip to DC. It was approximately 5 minutes outside downtown DC by car and the nightly rates were very good. Rooms were extremely clean, parking plentiful, and the complimentary breakfast was the best I've had at any hotel, including fresh eggs, sausages, pork, and vegetarian options, on top of the standard continental breakfast fares. Coffee and fresh water were available throughout the day in the hotel lobby. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I would definitely stay here again on another trip to the area.

Hotel is excellent for the amount of money spend. it is about 4miles from most of the monuments. Free shuttles help lot from Ronald Regan Airport Hotel is in he quite area with only two storey and have lot of space for car park. Breakfast is one of the best. You can get the tour bus (Hop on and Hop off) tickets from the gift shop next door and tour bus picks you from the motel at 8.20am. They will drop you back to motel every day at the end of the tour.

This was a great place to stay for our trip to Washington dc. They picked us up at the airport. They shuttled us to the Metro each day and picked us up in the evening. The breakfast was so good each day. The only drawback is not a lot of eating places to walk to, but the motel next door has a restaurant with good food. This is my third time at this hotel. It is in major need of an overall update. My room had a strong odor that was likely the result of using strong cleaning chemicals. The decor of the room was basically 70's style. Most disturbing was that the air conditioning unit could not attain a set temperature which resulted in multiple awakenings during the night because the room got extremely hot and stuffy. I found the breakfast to be very satisfying with lots of fresh options. I was kind of in a hurry to check out but after waiting for 5 minutes at the front desk for an agent to check me out, I needed to go find one of the breakfast buffet workers to find me a front desk clerk. The clerk was not able to log on to the system to process my checkout. I really did not have much time to wait for the clerk to receive help in logging in so I had to request that my receipt be e-mailed to me. I did receive the e-mail with my room bill as an attachment within 2 hours. In summary, I selected this hotel because it was very near to an appointment that I had and the room rate was very reasonable. I'm undecided as to whether I will stay here again next year for the same annual event that I will be attending.

Run-down motel with nice breakfast room. That's all I got. It was a clean room, I guess. But the door to the outside wouldn't fully close so it was noisy and the curtains only mostly close letting anyone who wants to peek in do so.

Beds are very comfortable, room is clean, neatly maintained daily, and in good working order, but I come here for the breakfast! There's none better in the world of hotels in my opinion. The gym is sparse on equipment but well maintained. I used it 3 out of my 4 nights and had plenty to do.

If you are looking for a nice hotel consider the Best Western Pentagon hotel located on Glebe Rd. The location is perfect and easy to find. Breakfast is exceptional with a daily change in menu items, and it's FREE!!! There is also free shuttle service to and from the airport and the Pentagon City Metro station every half hour. The rooms are average at best but you won't find a nicer staff and convenience of this hotel.

We will certainly stay at this hotel again. The beds are very firm, clean, and comfy. I think they use My Pillow type pillows b/c we all slept like babies each night. We did the sights in DC during the day and each evening came back to spic-n-span clean rooms. The hot breakfast was the best part. We did not have to waste time and SAVED lots of money eating a full and delicious breakfast (lots of coffee choices too, juices, and yogurt maker). Uber had no trouble getting to an easy location either, and we were close to all the places on the mall. Friendly service. We will stay here from now on when in DC. Excellent service and cleanliness at a great price.

Worse experience ever. This is not the quality I expect from a BW. More like a motel. Outside entrance with two floors. Mold in room, terrible water pressure, musky smell in room, dirty tub, poor lighting, and feared for safety. Turned back the bed and a spider was crawling around in the bed. Spider the size of a quarter.

After 3 rooms, and a separate building I had the room to myself mice were running under the doors between rooms. Then the next day after the same room I was moved out of, someone else was moved in... the WORSE hotel ever in 30 years of yravel!!!! 1 star is too high of a rating.

Great breakfast, lots of variety, different main dish every day. Shuttle every 30 minutes on the 1/2 hour to the nearest subway station which is Pentagon City. Very comfortable bed. 2 sinks - one sink with shower and one sink outside of shower. Keurig in room. Conference/meeting area with a table and chairs in room where vending machines are that can host about 15 people. Easy on/off highway. Would definitely stay here again - close to all that we wanted to see by car or subway, and the hotel price was affordable.

Look, if you are travelling to D.C. to stay in a hotel, then this is not the place for you. I took my family to see the Smithsonian Museums and needed to stick to a budget that would not allow me to stay in an expensive hotel. Not that I am a cheapskate, but all I need a hotel for is to sleep in so I always look for something in the $45-$85.00/night range, and found this, Best Western, on line. They have a free shuttle to and from the airport (but you have to call them to tell them that you need to be picked up). They also have a free shuttle to the nearby mall where you will find the nearest Subway Station that will take you into Washington D.C. This service runs every half hour on the half hour. I cannot begin to tell you how convenient this was for my family and me. Uber is also available (of course) and our Uber trip to the Washington Reagan Airport was only $8.00 at 04h30 (the hotel van only goes to the airport starting at 06h00. The room was very clean and the bed was like a giant marshmallow. There is no criticism here about the accomodations at all. They have free wi-fi and an awesome pool for that end-of-the-day swim to cool off after having walked a hundred miles on the Washington Mall. A word of advice. There are no restaurants near or around the mote/hotel. So, what you need to do is either eat in D.C. before catching the subway back or do what we did; thy subway stops under a huge shopping mall that has a very good food court. Saving the best for last.... This hotel has the best FREE BREAKFAST of any hotel I have ever stayed at here in the USA (no comparison to hotels in Mexico - which are not always free). They had a huge dining room, and a full array of breakfast foods. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Think about it... we saved a whole bunch of money by not having to feed the family a huge breakfast that kept us full until way in the afternoon. This hotel was a great find, and I will definitely stay there again.

This hotel could use a good cleaning and some upgrades. When I came to the hotel around 9:45 at night there was a long line for check in that extended all the way to the front door, only one desk clerk working, The hotel has only one ICE machine for the entire hotel. They have a gift shop that sells drinks but they have a 6 dollar minimum to use debt or credit card. The shower in the bathroom was dirty and in need of repairs, room could use a good cleaning Air Condition does not work good in the room. I will never stay here again

This hotel is a very good option if you drive. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast selection beyond expectation. Convenient parking in front of your room. Reception staff was very kind and informative. I would stay again here if I need to travel again in the area.

good location, good staff, willing to please, the room was not what i expected, very dark, could use a paint job, half of the outlets worked. beds were ok. close by many sites, having the shuttle available to the tram station was a plus. the only way to get around in DC is this way for sure. A/C terrible. had it set at 60, was just bearable. need new ones. pool area deteriorating, loose cement grave, my husband didn"t notice it and stepped on it and let out a yelp. Bathroom not the greatest I'm not tall and I could almost touch ceiling. Bad water pressure in sink & shower. The good side is the location to DC is good. The breakfast is good. The shuttle drivers are nice.

The A/C unit in our room didn't cool the room after 3 hours of being turned on, so we called the front desk. The lady said we should have called earlier, the maintenance guy already left???!!! So then she tells me to turn it off and wait a few minutes and then turn it back on. Like that's going to fix it. So we asked to be moved to a different room. And we packed up 3 kids and moved to a new room at 11:30 at night. This room was a little better, but still didn't cool down like we needed it to in 90 degree heat!

The scrambled eggs at breakfast were fantastic. I like to negotiate for the best rate when I make a reservation. I had taken advantage of a 3-night stay rate, but had to change my plans and cut my stay to 1 night. I called with plenty of notice to cancel night 2 and 3. I forgot to ask about any discount. When I checked in, I asked about the rate and she told me I had a "good rate". I don't think I did. Of course it's my fault for not taking care of it in advance, I had forgotten that my rate was based on 3 night stay. I learned something.

We woke up to a HUGE bug crawling up the wall. The front office offered us a new room but never accommodated us with anything other than bug s[ray. We had to kill the bug ourselves and spray our room and I think that is unacceptable considering we are paying guest at a hotel. I understand bugs come in but you all may need to have an exterminator fumigate the hotel very soon or they will be far worse. That was the largest bug I have ever seen in my life.

We went to Arlington to visit the casino and go over to Washington. The hotel was close enough for us to drive to the places we wanted to visit. The room was comfortable and had a refrigerator and microwave in it. 2 sinks in the bathroom. The bed was good. Free breakfast was good also. Enjoyed my stay and would come back.

Everything was great , staff very nice . The Hotel extended the shuttle service on the 4th of July so we did not have to get a taxi back to the motel . Only downside was no fridge or microwave in our room.

"Good rooms, thin walls"

Room was everything it needed to be BUT the thin walls are a gamble. I had to listen to someone's alarm clock (at 6pm) for about 10 min. I also heard the couple next door doing... stuff... yeah... The pool needs to be open when people are actually there, not just during business hours. Fitness center? Ha. I have more equipment at home. However, the shuttle service was very much appreciated.

Water pressure non-existent, unpleasant appearance, booked adjoining rooms but only 1 of the two had a phone and a fridge. Noisy AC and bathroom fan. Booked a week's stay but left after one night. Couldn't wait to leave. Information said Metro station within walking distance but found that had to use shuttle to access, when available.

Good value for price. Shuttle service to DC Metro, Reagan Airport, and a local mall. Capacity can be overwhelmed at peak times requiring prolonged waits to get back to hotel. Would use this property again for family vacation to DC.

Hotel staff was wonderful! Its the older style hotel but it's bringing maintained. Breakfast was yummy daily and the shuttle to pentagon city and the airport were a huge plus! The pool was clean and had a lifeguard on duty. We needed maintenance for a tripped breaker and they were there within 2 minutes. Excellent customer service! If we go back to DC we will definitely be back at Best Western.

"Could be worse."

Room had a musty smell and beds were not comfortable. Bathroom apparently had rust on walls but looked like remnants of a crime scene. Shower worked well. Breakfast was decent if you could stand the heat to fix your plate. Hot foods were ok. Pastries were stale and very little fruit was available.

Staff who greeted me was so nice! directed me to a place to eat that I could walk to and it was a very lovely area to walk through. Found several great running paths for my morning run. Very close to freeway but no noise. The pool so clean and the gym and business room open 24/7 which was great. Had a leaky sink, that was rough. Not a drip but steady stream. Since I only realized after hours, couldn't mention to staff till I was ready to leave. Otherwise every great, room older but clean and comfortable.

Stayed here eight days. We knew we wouldn't be in the room much, so looked for a reasonable place to stay near the sights. This worked out perfectly! Took the shuttle to the metro daily and the drivers know back ways during high traffic times to get around. Room was clean, bed comfy and breakfast was great! Scrambled eggs/sometimes boiled too, bacon and or sausages, potatoes, yogurt bar, waffles, cappuccino bar with whipped cream, fresh fruit, cereal hot/cold, juices, breads/pastries. We would stay full from the hearty breakfast and only had to eat out one other meal a day. There is a lifeguard on duty which I've never seen in all of our frequent travels. No drinks around the pool but one day we went in and there was a very large party with food and drinks going on. A few issues: key was not set to our check out date and it was annoying to have to keep getting it "fixed" every two days. No fridge/microwave in the room, can get one for $10 more per day. They do have a community room with a mini fridge, ice maker, snack machines but we didn't want to leave our drinks/food unattended. The worst issue we had was the wifi. I think it was because we were at the very end but we kept getting kicked off constantly. It was free but it was painful to constantly try to log on then get kicked off-worse in the evening. The other odd thing was that the maid staff kept changing our towels daily when we hung them up to be reused (all but one day). Overall the staff was friendly, we had great A/C and a positive experience.

This is an excellent hotel with very good staff. Starting with friendly shuttle drivers, to check in, breakfast, pool staff and gift shop. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, and loved the decor with Washington's picture and Declaration of Independence on the wall. The pool is well-maintained with life guards. The gift shop has everything from souvenirs, soups and ice cream. Although there are really no shops around, Shirling Village is within a mile. The shuttle will drive you to Washington metro where you can ride to DC and tour. This hotel has everything.

We had to travel to Arlington for work and booked this place online. It was a very convenient location with shuttle service every half hour to Pentagon City metro station. The staff members (front office, housekeeping and breakfast servers) were very courteous. Breakfast timings were good as was the breakfast which was quite substantial. Although the hotel seemed old, the room was large and clean and well equipped. Would definitely recommend it especially since parking in the DC area is a nightmare and using the metro is the best way to get around!

My family stayed there for 6 days. What I love best was the 30-minute shuttle that goes to the airport and into Washington DC and they drop you off at a metro station. You'll be in Washington DC with in five minutes. Excellent breakfast everyday perio. Room was very clean and neat. Little outdated but for an older Hotel and for the price it's great. Highly recommended. Air conditioner was great. Comfort Inn right behind it that has a restaurant that opens up in the evening which has excellent food.

We have stayed in Best Westerns for the past 20 years on family vacations. Had this been our first time we wouldn't do it again. Luckily for BW, this is not the typical property and we will try them again. BREAKFAST: People speak highly of the breakfast which, if you're staying for two days, is fine. We stayed 5 nights and having the same thing each day got old. The room is large and on our third day they got new tables and chairs which was nice. ROOM: Room was clean but bare. Air conditioning really didn't do much and couldn't keep up. We didn't want to switch rooms and lived with a warmer than necessary room. The unit worked,...just not well enough because even though there was a "high" setting for the blower, it didn't work. Water leaked out of the shower, the fan in the shower was underpowered and you would nearly suffocate. The water in the shower peeled your skin off unless you had the master touch and barely turned it on. BARELY. The TV was very small and so far away it was hard to hear your own but could hear the neighbors very easily. The pillows were beyond terrible. It was like sleeping on acorns. Not enough power outlets either. The door appeared very unsafe. The part of the door frame where the deadbolt locks appeared missing and bent like someone kicked the door down at some point. This wasn't isolated to our room. Others had the same appearance. PROPERTY: Ice machines and vending was only located at the front of building 2, first floor, closest to lobby. Being in a different building on the second floor was annoying. We like ice! The internet is terrible unless you're in the lobby. The pool was well used by kids but we didn't use it. SHUTTLE: The shuttle was prompt and dependable. The A/C didn't seem to work in there either but then again the driver may have not cared because most drove with the drivers window open. The language barrier kept me from asking to have the A/C on. They have three or four different shuttles but rarely use the one big enough to pick up the people at Pentagon City stop. Sometimes there wasn't enough room for everyone at the stop in the shuttle and we had to crowd the door like a packed subway to make sure we got a seat. STAFF: Primarily speaking about the front desk staff, they were really good. Very helpful and friendly. Without the staff the rating would have been a "2". If you don't have a car this is not a good place to stay despite the shuttle. There really isn't anything within walking distance and the shuttle only goes to Pentagon City Mall.

"Close to attractions"

The hotel service was excellent. the staff was very nice and helpful. I had a problem and the manager took care of us. I was pleased with the breakfast too. The hotel was close to all museums, and mall. The shuttle bus was handy for not driving and paying for parking. The hotel is right off the highway too and plenty of restaurants and gas stations.

"SEWER BACK UP IN ROOM"

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We had sewer back up in bathroom - the hotel sent a plumber 3 times to "fix" the issue and still wasn't fixed. AC wasn't cooling the room as it should. Front desk seemed to not care.

I thought...Oh no....it's a Motel! Wow...very nice place! Did not need all the amenities of a Hotel....after walking in DC for 8+ hours for three days...all we did afterward was watch TV for a little bit and sleep!!

Do not stay here!!!! Our room was so dated and smelly. It was disgusting!!! I will never stay here again. The only positive thing about the room was there was a Keurig in there. The bathroom was disgusting. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls. The door to our Room was rusted out!! I could go on and on! Please take my advice and stay somewhere else!

I really enjoyed staying at your hotel. The breakfast was above what expected. Beds were very comfortable. The shuttle bus from motel to wherever you wanted to go in the city. Good value for the money. If you want to go to DC without breaking the bank, this is the way to go.

Room was clean but needs furnishing and decor update. Those seeking food are sent to the Comfort Inn's restaurant behind the BW. Stood at restaurant for 10 minutes and was never acknowledged by anyone-but then again the only staff member I could see was the bar tender, who was busy. Many unclean and unoccupied tables. Left in frustration. No info on food delivery in rooms. Called the front desk and then had to walk two buildings over to look at menus. On checkout, needed to use the hotel airport shuttle. Missed the first one because the driver never came in to the lobby and just drove off without waiting for anyone to come in. As a result, ended up forking over the cash to get to the airport by taxi. Not worth the $190 I paid to stay. $60 would be a more reasonable price given the facility condition, amenities, and service. Also, no batteries in remote control, but didn't ask for a new one because I didn't want to walk back to the front desk.

The beds were super comfortable, food was good, location is great! Had issue at check in with reservation, took 2 different times to try and check in, staff lost my credit card while I was a the desk, they found it then wanted to make a copy - oh heck no. Needless to say it was a horrible check in process, but the beds were comfortable.

"terrible hotel"

We walked into the hotel room first it smelt like cigarets. Then I knew my stay was going to be bad. They advised this hotel as Newley renovated it was the total opposer of Newley renovated. Cockroaches were a big problem in this hotel as a matter of fact one of our friends found a cockroach in their shoe there are a ton of cockroaches under the air conditioners and in the shower drains. The air conditioner stunk and could never keep up on a 90 degree day they were having a tough time on a 70 degree day. This is defiantly a motel not a hotel as a matter of fact all the doors lead to the outside so you enter your room through the outside. The showers were moldy. The room looked like it hadn't been cleaned science it was built. The breakfast was the best part and it was still terrible the waffles pancakes and French toast were ego and the the bagels were Thomas' the hot chocolate looked like dishwater. The eggs were extra soggy with the side of soggy. The hard boiled eggs were a hard as a toy.

"Very Good Within Their Class!"

We enjoyed two nights here in May, 2017. Nice to have free shuttle every 30 min during the day to and from the airport AND the nearest Metro station. Free breakfast every morning in a large dining area is more than enough to start the day and last until lunch! Hotels in DC area very quickly become expensive relative to many other areas, and this hotel was a bargain compared with many only a stone's throw away. I would readily stay there again. And one last note: their shower water pressure/flow rate was incredible! How do they do that?!

I recently stayed at the Best Western Pentagon for a weekly work conference being held in DC. I booked this hotel through Hotwire and was given a very favorable rate. Upon landing at Reagan International I had a rental car so I didn't use the available shuttle that the hotel offers but it was nice to know they had the option. Check-in was very fast and efficient and the young lady working the desk was super friendly and helpful. Got my room key and headed up to drop off my stuff. As soon as I got to the room I learned that all but one of the electrical outlets were not working which I thought was odd. I flipped the in-room breaker to make sure that wasn't the issue and it didn't help. When back down to the check-in counter and the same helpful employee said she wasn't sure what was going on but immediately offered to switch my room which she did and walked with me up to the new room to make sure everything was working correctly which it was and got me situated. I felt like this was a super resolution rather than having me wait for maintenance to come and figure out what the problem was which could have taken awhile. So problem solved. As far as the motel itself. From the outside it appeared to be a little dated as this is probably a little older hotel, however inside the rooms were very nice and fairly modern. Standard amenities such as a fridge, microwave, and even nice single cup Keurig coffee machine. The air conditioning unit was functional and very useful as it was somewhat humid outside while I was there. I felt safe in the neighborhood this hotel is located in right off I-395, it was quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. They have a full hot breakfast buffet in the morning which was very tasty, just the thing to get you motivated for a trip into rush hour traffic. The only thing that would have made this particular hotel even better would have been an indoor pool. They do have an outdoor version but it was not slated to open till that weekend, and even so it would have been too cold to get in based on the daily temperature. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and an excellent value. If I every come back to the area again I will seriously consider staying here again.

"A MOTEL with basic amenities."

We spent almost a week part of an organized trip and according to the information at the back of the hotel room they can charge up to $ 400 for a room. However you should normally be able, if you shop online, to get it for about $ 135 to $ 150 and it is on these paid amounts that we base our review. Overall our general advice is “stay away”. Overall a disappointment this cheap motel is unbecoming of the chain Best Western. On the positive rooms are large, service is decent and many rooms are quiet. The swimming pool was not in service and we were told that it would not open before a month though it was a whopping 34 C (94 F). Included buffet-style breakfast is one of the most mediocre we have ever encountered : limited selection, do-it-yourself cleanup, plastic ustensils, styrofoam plates and generally substandard products like gooey yogourt coming ouf of a ice-cream-like machine (to be hoest we were offered individual ones after a while). Free coffee offered at the reception tasted like diswashing soap. A basket of apples though was a welcome addition. We are tempted to give it one star but very large rooms gererally clean and decent sevice raises it to 2 stars. It is time they completely renovate this motel a disgrace to America's magnificient capital. We are from Canada and are used to Best Western Hotels.

This Best Western has good qualities as well as bad qualities. Our first night we were awaken around 12 o'clock by the noise of young ladies next door. They were nit partying, just talking about their evening out on the town. The reason why we could hear them is because the walls to our room were super thin and the noise was also coming through the connecting door. Our room was nothing special but at least the bed was comfortable. On the positive side, the front desk staff and also the breakfast staff were super nice and very helpful. The hotel also offered a shuttle service to the Arlington City metro station which really was a great help in getting to DC. and all the monuments.

Comfy beds, pleasant helpful staff, phone and hair dryer in room was broken and there is only one drink machine I could find but the complementary (NOT continental but ACTUAL BREAKFAST - COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST ON WEEKENDS) WAS GREAT...made our own fresh waffles on waffle irons/two types of batter, eggs, full breakfast spread with cappicino machine and juices....very nice staff. I will stay again...only a few miles from DC and Metro - take blue line from Pentagon City(mall hotel shuttle drops you off there from 6 am to 10 pm every half hour on the hour and half of hour).

This Best Western is old school motel setting. Rooms are adjacent to parking for cars, and have that 1950's feel, both how they room was built (little isolation from noise) and how the bathroom was designed. The front staff are friendly, and the location is great. Whether you are on business, tourist or other.. its a decent motel that offers breakfast.

Hotel needs to be updated. Not all the rooms have frig or microwave. Dark rooms, beds are old. Ice machine is kept locked up, so you need to go to the front desk and ask for a key. water pressure is very bad. We had to call for towels the room didn't have any. I just dont feel like its a hotel, more like motel rooms

This is my second visit to the Best Western Pentagon Hotel. Check in was very pleasant. The room was average, but I didn't need anything fancy. The only problem was the thin walls and hearing my neighbor's conversations and phone ringing. The breakfast was delicious, though I would have liked seasonal fruit with my meal. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

We stayed at the Best Western Pentagon Hotel in Arlington... A very spacious room with a comfortable King size bed. The staff was very courteous and granted every request we made.. The breakfast offered was savory and abundant...and they even let my son living in Arlington eat with us...a pretty simple to get to location. It's a bit far from the Metro but they have a free shuttle to the subway or Reagan Airport. I would definitely stay here again...

Best Western is one of our rewards hotels and was the most affordable the weekend we traveled. If you are familiar with Best Western, it meets those expectations. They offer the full BW breakfast every morning from 6:30-10am. We had a comfortable room...they had a Keurig machine for the in room coffee/tea and a microwave/refrigerator. Its about 10 minutes from the airport but they offer a shuttle service every 1/2 hour. Since we were spending most of our time in Washington D.C., we used the BW shuttle to go to the Pentagon City station to grab the Metro in. This was useful so we didn't fight with traffic/parking, etc. The only issue we had was that the showers were extremely noisy (water running through the pipes created a loud squeal). While they don't have a restaurant on sight, there is a Quality Inn behind the hotel with a restaurant thats open kind of late...its a small menu, but good if you just want to get a bite. While it would be nice to stay closer to the airport, for the price BW is a good option.

The room was clean, comfortable and attended to in a timely fashion, which are primary considerations in our travels. However, the bath towels were a tad thin, but quite usable. The breakfast buffet was very acceptable, with a very good yogurt machine. The hotel shuttle enabled us to quickly access the local metrorail.

This hotel has a fantastic location. The staff is great and super helpful. The breakfast is very good and changes everyday. The room was nice and comfortable. They will shuttle you to the nearest Metro station and he city is easily accessible from there. The value was excellent for my first time in Washington DC and we saw so many things with the help of the hotel staff! I highly recommend this hotel if you are on a lower budget in DC, you will be pleasantly surprised!

Hotel as a whole was a nice place to stay. If you're looking for a clean place convenient to the Metro then you must here. The hotel does offer a shuttle to the Metro station but we have a 18 month old who needs a car seat so we opted to drive to the Metro. Also offers breakfreast that was very good and plentyful. Overall a nice place to stay.

We stayed at this hotel during a family vacation to Washington, D.C. The hotel is very clean, the staff is friendly, and the beds were comfortable. This hotel has, by far, the best hotel buffet I've ever had. Seriously, it's really good. The shuttle to the Pentagon City metro station is very convenient.

Rooms were generally well cleaned. Breakfast was very good, really nice variety and well stocked and clean. Bravo to the waitress, who ran it. Front desk people could be more helpful. Shuttle service available to metro to D.C. but with 4 people we found it better to Uber. about $7 more per day than the metro, no waiting and pick up and dropoff at the exact local we wanted. Figured we saved 2 hours a day with Uber. Found a leak in the tub though that wet the bedroom floor in the corner. Didn't notice that until the last day. Older building but they seem to keep it up pretty well. I would stay there again

Stayed one night, needs updating. Signage broken in front. Area was not the best but ok for one night. Close by the highway that takes you to DC.Rooms acceptable and clean. Not high end but ok. Parking free and in the rear outside of the room, so that made it easy when loading the car.

We enjoyed the breakfast and most of the employees. The shuttle was very unreliable in the evenings and always huge crowds waiting to get on. We would reconsider staying here again because of this fact since there are so many hotels that also offer shuttle services. Room was pretty clean but old.

The BW Pentagon was a 5 minute drive from Reagan National, great for coming into and out of the the Washington, D.C. area. Also has easy and close access to a number of great restaurants. I even tried the in-room delivery and was highly impressed with both service and quality.

We chose the motel because of the price and it was part of a chain with a pretty good history. The good amenities that were free was the parking, continental breakfast and shuttle. The room was a normal old motel room. Some things were outdated and barely working. We would stay there again, if we paid a little less.

Staff was not very friendly or helpful. The room was not clean and tidy. I stayed here for 3 nights and really it's only good if you need a place to stay real quick. Breakfast was good they had that going for them. No microwaves or fridge's in the room makes it hard to heat food later, when you are on a highway with no transportation. Took the shuttle over an hour to pick me up from the airport. Ridiculous. All you want to do when you travel is get to where you are going. Waiting around gets frusterating.

The hotel has a great location and is near all the DC tours and cherry blossoms. We enjoy the full breakfast,the clean and comfortable rooms.The service was great and we slept fairly well.We visit our daughter often and stay here.

"Good value for the money"

Visiting DC was a new experience for me. This hotel was clean & comfortable with a very generous hot breakfast. I visited later in the year so the pool was not open. I was not able to access the exercise room for some reason-I didn't bother to inquire. What surprised me was the lack of knowledge the staff had about the area. We did happen upon a gift shop which was in the back parking lot, & the young lady didn't understand any of our questions. She just kept smiling & saying "Yes". We talked to some other guests who had problems after signing up for tours. I wouldn't recommend doing it at the hotel. Luckily for us some of the guests informed us how the shuttle works & getting to & around with the Metro. Very disappointed that for a busy city the clerks seemed to be clueless. Also the fact that they billed my credit card after I had already paid the previous month, didn't make me very happy. I did get a refund. The shuttle was very good & free. That was a definite perk! If you're new to this area, you might consider staying somewhere else.

This is a motel with free parking. Rooms are well maintained. Hotel offers free shuttle to Pentagon Metro station running every 30 minutes, and we have used it daily :) Breakfast was very good, and the ladies supplying breakfast items were very accommodating. We have spent 6 nights at this motel and would stay here again.

Excellent value, convenient location, clean and comfortable room, free hot breakfast and free parking, plus free shuttle to the metro. The shuttle is quick and departs every 30 minutes. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

"Good shuttle service to metro and airport"

I was surprised that this hotel was actually a motel with cars parking right outside our room. There are three separate buildings with the lobby, breakfast room and seasonal pool across the parking lot. I found this unusual for a hotel in this area and fortunately there was no ice or snow for getting to the lobby. No elevator, two floors, so request ground floor if you like. Very nice hot breakfast with many choices. We had a long wait for the shuttle at the airport, but later, the shuttle services to Pentagon City Metro and airport were very timely (every 1/2 hour until 10 pm) the rest of the time. There is no concierge, but the desk staff tried to be helpful. The beds were comfortable and the room was large. No microwave or fridge.

This hotel offers a free shuttle service to the nearby Pentagon City Mall, from where transport links to Washington are close by. They also have an arrangement with the Comfort Inn hotel to use their restaurant.

5 Stars to Max Zelatem Front Office Manager. My Wife and I are senior citizens with limited mobility, we checked in late after an all drive and Max personally got our luggage in to our room. He called next day to make sure we were ok and asked if we need any other assistance.

We used the hotel as our base when visiting Washington for 5 days. The room was fine and the breakfast was a good start to the day. Transport to and from Pentagon was good - when you have got used to how the system works. I was not overwhelmed by the customer service on the reception desk. The standard was well below the level which we experienced at other hotels in America. For example, I asked the receptionist the directions to the Verizon Center in Washington. The guy hadn't heard of it! I was surprised. On other occasions it appeared that the reception staff weren't bothered. Below the level at the other Best Western Hotels we have used.

The hotel is good if you don't want to expend too much money with a hotel. We could say it is ok, not so good nor so bad. The neighborhood is not the best, there is a cemetery beside. Parking lot is free. No fridge at the room.

Its a good choice for a hotel. The staff was courteous and professional. The rooms were clean and service was great. Free airport shuttle to Regan International and Dulles and close vicinity within a reasonable distance. I'll definitely stay there again.

Stayed here while the MCM was in town. Their shuttle service wasn't able to keep up with the number of people they needed to transport. They also partner with the motel next door for this service. Bath tub was not very clean, other than that nice stay here. The beds were clean.

My husband and I traveled to Arlington for a short trip to tour the capital and the White House. The best Western was clean, pleasant, priced right, and in the perfect area to catch the metro into DC. It was an excellent experience.

Typical BW. If you are used to Marriott and Hilton (and I'm not picky enough to see any significant difference between those and Hyatt), this place will give you pause. A satisfying breakfast is included, but be prepared for the chain-smoker outside the room two doors down, the toilet with a tiny leak that makes it flush briefly in the middle of the night, and the loud-talker next door. No comforter, just a thin blanket between two sheets. (See photo.) They did not supply extra blankets, but because it was a 2-queen room, we took the blanket off the other bed and it was ok. The sink outside the bathroom smelled strongly of mold, and the bathtub had a huge pocket of air, enough to bounce on, near the drain; I can only imagine the amount of bacteria living there. However, the shower head was good, and the room was otherwise clean. Not for the guest who can afford better but doesn't really want to spend it.

BW is, in my opinion, a really good hotel chain, in which my family and I stay every time we travel. This time it was an upsetting choice. Staff very unfriendly, breakfast room uncomfortable and rooms just ok. Should focus on costumer service to catch up with other other with BW brand.

We found this hotel to be the best deal for a nice hotel close to Reagan National. The rooms were clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The shuttle driver "Sahal" was so very friendly. Great deal if you want to take the Metro into D.C.

"It's a motel"

I did not know this was a motel, and it may have affected my decision to stay. The parking lot noise during the night was disruptive. On top of that, there was a tour bus parked right outside our door. Its air brake and running engine disturbed our rest at night. On the plus side, the front desk staff was wonderful. The room maid cleaned our room each day, which made it feel "first day" fresh.

We originally selected this hotel because of its airport shuttle. Unfortunately, after the booking we realized the shuttle was not running during either time we needed it. It runs from 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. so we had to get taxis each time. We stayed twice at this hotel. Our first room (251) had poor air quality. The second visit was much better (246). The desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The shuttle takes you to the metro station for easy access to the subway. We were going to tour the Pentagon one day and the shuttle driver (Joseph) actually dropped us right near the tunnel for quick access. There is a hot breakfast which was a great way to start the day and apples available at the front desk for a good snack.

broken door, no sound insulation, no smiles, wallpaper falling off the wall. The room was very clean. The bed was good. Really would have liked it if the lady at the front desk had greeted us with a smile or even smiled at all throughout the checkout. It's truly amazing what a smile can do for an experience. We probably would not stay here again unless there was nothing more aesthetic in the area. Our door would not close completely....it was very obvious and, even though we didn't report it because we were in and out for an early morning flight out of Reagan International, housekeeping couldn't have missed the problem because it had to be forced closed to lock it. Even with it locked there was a huge gap between the door and the door frame where someone could actually see into the room. We are Best Western Diamond Reward members. That says lots about how much we used Best Western when we are away from home.......we always will look for Best Western first......except......and this was certainly the exception to everything we've ever experienced with the hotel chain. Sorry....I always like to say the best I can about my experiences, but this one I have few good things to say...:(

IF you pick Best Western Hotel through Trip Advisor, you will not get your Best Western REWARDS points. But no one tells you till after you stay and Pay Best Western. So bottom line is if you pick Best Western, and pay them, they are happy, but will not give you the Best Western Reward points, because you didn't START on their website. They tell you to give your number @ the front desk, but the points won't go on your account. VERY FRUSTRATING for no warning or not told, even though you patronize Best Western. Dirty, nit picky work on the REWARDS program.

this was a lower priced hotel for the are so my hopes were not very high. I was originally placed in room 106. It was so loud all night from street noise. The next day I asked to move to a different room. Much better. Ask for rooms between 236-268 or 301-336. So much quieter. As for the rooms they are very dated. Carpets are very old and bathrooms are shabby. Included breakfast was good. Hot eggs ect... They did have a free shuttle service to metro and the airport so if you just need a place to lay your head go for it. If you want any form of luxury, pass on this one. I left a tip for the room cleaners and they left it on the sink so they must be pretty honest. They must have thought I accidentally left some money on the soap tray near the main sink. Good job staff!!

room I was in is in much needed repair. Looked like water damage and plaster was loose. It is located in a bad area . The bed was very comfortable but a lot of noise outside. I personally would not stay there again. I am a fan of Best Western but this was the worst one I have stayed at.

Check in was friendly and expedient. The entry door to the room was from the outdoors. Parking right in front of the room. There is only one floor so the noise level was very low. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. Wi-Fi worked well. The room had a refrigerator and microwave, along with a desk chair and desk table. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to add an additional sitting chair. There is plenty of room for one. The "water closet" included the tub/shower, toilet and a pedestal sink. There was another sink area with counter area, lighting, and mirror. My husband is a very early riser so he was able to shower and shave in the water closet without turning on lights in the bedroom area and waking me. The breakfast area was a large conference room. They had a selection of four to five hot entrees, i.e., scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, sausage, along with the typical cereal, yogurt, pastries, juice and coffee. It was a very nice selection of food for breakfast. This hotel offers a free shuttle service to/from the Metro station and Reagan airport every 30 minutes. I would definitely stay there again for the money paid.

Myself and my significant other's family rented two rooms for Labor Day weekend thinking this would be a great, inexpensive hotel close to DC. The quality of the hotel definitely matches the cheap price. The shower in one of our rooms wasn't working at all, so half of our party was told by management that they could either 1. Not take showers or 2. Move to a different room. In the second room, the shower worked, but it leaked all over the floor causing slippery conditions even with the floor mat. The cleanliness of the rooms was okay. Areas in the tub and behind the toilet could have been cleaner. My biggest complaint is the staff. Everyone we interacted with seemed generally disinterested and rude. From the minute we arrived, I walked to the front desk and asked if it were possible for us to check in early. The dead-eyed desk clerk just shook her head without so much as a hello, welcome, or explanation. I had to coax her to even speak to me. To top it all off, during the night we were rudely awakened at 3:30 a.m. by some drunk college student banging on our door. This went on for a good ten minutes before we finally convinced the guy he had the wrong room. When we spoke to the front desk clerk about it in the morning (the same, disinterested woman from check-in), her response was just "that's too bad." Not so much as an apology or any visible sign of hospitality. Coming from customer service jobs in my past, I can understand when it's difficult to deal with people. But when you're in the hospitality industry and dealing with customers every day, you can at least attempt to appear interested and friendly. Especially when the guests are making every effort to start conversations and interact with you. We certainly won't be returning again.

We reserved the pentagon on a last minute trip to Washington. Pricing was a lot lower than all other places which made us suspicious. However, the shuttle was there on time, the room was clean enough and could have been renovated more extensively. It was more a mask up job than a total refitting. For the price it was great. Breakfast was nice and the breakfast room was large. Not a vacation place but very suitable for a short visit to Washington if you do not have expensive tastes.

The carpet in the room was damp and smelled most likely from a recent shampooing. There was dirt along the carpet edges. The van service was unsafe as there were too many people in the van for the number of seat belts available. The motel had a bigger van but for some reason did not use it for the 6AM run to the airport. This was Best Western is "tired," and was the lowest in quality of the many I have stayed at.

This hotel was booked for me for a two night business trip. I wish I would've known about the hotel in advance or I would have asked to stay elsewhere. The shuttle, while complimentary, was over a half hour late picking me up from the airport when they stated that it runs every 30 on the 30. Then the ceiling of van leaked rain on my head. At check in I found the older lady agent relatively "matter of fact"; not friendly or at all welcoming. The man was nice, however. I dislike "outdoor" hotels because I don't feel very safe; this was no different. It very much reminds me of the cheap motels. The site claims the hotel has been updated, but I couldn't tell; everything about my room from the front door to the furnishings to the microwave to the dingy tub to the wallpaper and ceiling designs said "80's". I had a room facing the street so the traffic was distracting at night. The bed was comfortable though and I did appreciate the hot breakfast. The restaurant doesn't open until the early evening and there's no restaurant around for at least a mile, which I hated because I didn't rent a car. Overall, I'm sorry but I would not stay here again.

This was my second stay at this Best Western this summer. We have family that lives right across the street which makes this a perfect location for us. It's a comfortable hotel with a great breakfast and friendly staff. I think it's a little pricey as it seems to be an older facility but we will definitely continue to stay here. I only wish that it were pet friendly.

Stayed 1 night for a quick trip to DC. The room very basic. Keurig in room was nice. Security presence appreciated. Shuttle was a plus, runs every 30 minutes to the metro at the Pentagon City Mall. The breakfast was good with good variety. Coffee available in lobby.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel one night before catching a flight at DCA. The lobby looks nice and the staff were pretty helpful. We parked here and took their free shuttle to the metro to ride into DC. There was a pretty long wait for the shuttle, but it beats driving into DC. As far as the room goes, it's so-so. The walls were very thin; I could hear the person in the next room talking on the phone and his TV. I'm sure he could hear us too. We had a corner room, so we heard every passing vehicle through out the night. It seemed to be much louder than most hotels I've stayed in, so those outside walls were thin too. The bed was fairly comfortable. We had a Kurig, Microwave, and Refrigerator. Even though the room looked clean, it didn't feel very clean. The walls seems to need repair, along with the power outlets. The power outlet near the bed was so loose, my phone charger wouldn't stay in. There were no other power outlets near the bed, but there were some across the room. The tub didn't look very clean. There was A LOT of rust around the drain, making the whole shower look gross. I may use this hotel again for a one night stay because of price, but I wouldn't make this a stop for a longer stay.

Visited this hotel to surprise my huaband.This hotel has a shuttle service to and from Reagan Intl Airport. The rooms are very comfy and quaint. they have a free breakfast in the main building, the staff is AWESOME,HELPFUL..the beds are soft and comfy, the tv work -sound and sleep buttons location is great for the attractions.i didn't see a pool

We stayed here for two days and visited the local sights. We enjoyed the room. It was comfortable, quiet and clean! There is a small gift shop with light foods open all day and well into the evening. Totally enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

This hotel offers a very good value for the DC area at under $100 per night. There is a free shuttle for the airport as well as the metro so no need for a rental car. Nothing special about the rooms, but comfortable enough. I was here early September with beautiful weather so no problem with outside entrance to room but would not do it in winter. Breakfast is free and very good with many hot items that are replenished often. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They printed out directions for dining options in the area.

I loved that the hotel was right off the highway. The beds were so comfortable! I had a couple of issues with my room but, the hotel manager come down, looked things over and immediately had the things corrected. He offered to move me to a different room but I was already settled so as soon as I left, the staff came in and corrected the issues. The air conditioner could have worked better but this is an older property so I didn't expect it to be perfect. I was not impressed with the breakfast. One morning the breakfast potatoes were actually tater tots. All in all, my stay was very comfortable I rested very well and I felt safe. I would recommend this to anyone who is traveling in the area of the Pentagon or doesn't want to stay right in DC.

Great location, shuttle to metro was about 10 min drive and ran every 30 min. We never had to wait. Breakfast was typical with additional to hot scramble eggs, sausage and potatoes. The rooms were roomy but the bathroom could have been better. No big complaints because we were out for most of the day anyway. DC took us a day and a half to complete depending on what you want to see and do, so the pool came in handy for entertainment being that we were back at the hotel by 4pm the last day we were there. All and all, if your looking to visit DC and don't mind staying in Arlington which us right over the bridge then this was ok and cheap for a short stay, I would stay again if I came back.

This was a wonderful stay. Nice location. Kinda difficult to find since the sign was not lit up on the road.The bed was comfortable. There was mold in the bathroom. The breakfast was good and the separate dining area got you away from the kids. Served its purpose!!

"Very good for so low price"

Room really spacious, nice, clean, with comfortable beds, two washbasins, air conditioning. The only minus was missing fridge and distance from DC. Although the hotel offers free shuttle to the Pentagon city metro station and Ronald Reagan National Airport. However the shuttle is offered from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., so if you want to stay in the city till night, it's necessary to go to the hotel by bus and for people who don't know the bus stops it could by really complicated. Nice swimming pool, good location, very rich and tasty breakfast (but with plastic and paper dishes looks strange). We traveled with a friend, we choose this accommodation because it was the cheapest option. And we couldn's choose better one, we were really content! Thank you :-)

The sign outside reception saying "No Soliciting on Premises" should have been a warning as come evening there were several working girls on the premises and they were very comfortable there and seemed to know the hotel well. Needless to say it was quite an education for our group of baseball players. Aside from that the reception staff were disinterested and not very helpful, the room was very dated, although clean enough. The breakfast was very basic. Needless to say I would not stay there again or recommend it to others.

I have been to several Best Westerns hotels this year and I was disappointed in this location. The hotel is dated and could use an uplift. The pool area and the pool were dirty. There were leaves all around the pool area, and in the pool itself and they were dead, which tells you they have been there for a long time. The pool bottom needs to be redone, when your looking into the water it almost looks like something is floating in it, even though it was not. The breakfast buffet was also very bland, could have been better.

Front desk was very helpful with any issues that we had. Very close to some good places for dining. The rooms were comfortable and fairly large. Only complaint was that room 205 has a musty smell to it. But other wise everything was okay. The free parking and the pool were a plus. Though I feel the price was alittle high.

Beware!!! My family and I came to D.C. to visit and sight see for the very first time. On our 2nd night at the Best Western, we received a call on the motel line at 1 in the morning from someone posing to be an employee from the front desk. They said their systems had crashed and needed every guest's information to re-book their stay. Being disoriented, half-asleep and not thinking anyone else would be calling on the motel phone, I gave our info. Immediately, I felt uncomfortable and came-to/realized what had happened, I called the front desk and of course they say that it wasn't them. I got onto my online banking and locked our cards, but not before a crook got away with $296.95. We filed a police report and spoke to the GM, Tad, who was sort of abrasive and just smiled and said that hasn't happened here before. He showed no compassion and no apology for his employee that transferred a call to our room at 1 am without verifying that they knew us. NO ONE knew where we were staying, let alone our names or room number. There is definitely a lack of security training amongst their employees. The only employees that were decent were Khristian and the breakfast ladies. Everyone knew the situation, yet most employees we came across were rude and had the "it's not our fault" -(Emily, at check-out time) attitude. We've been rewards members for years, but will be looking to earn rewards elsewhere. Best Western's employee's lack of concern, customer service, respect and compassion was completely uncalled for. They haven't even tried to make us feel better, safe or comfortable about staying at their facility. This is being further investigated, as I wish this on no one. I guess we're lucky it was only $300, but traveling 3 states away with 4 kids....it put a damper on things. Ripped off in Washington D.C. ......go figure! P.S. The A/C is not up-to-par either

The only complaint was that we had to go over to another building for ice/drink machine. Room was clean. Nice. It was a bit pricey for my budget but decided to stay there due to the hotel agent I spoke with. He was very helpful when I booked the room. I wish he had given me his name. I will probably stay there again if I go to D.C. again. Shuttle to Metro Rail and to Airport was nice.

The hotel is literally right next to Interstate 395 and it is fairly easy to get to this hotel. I will say the staff were nice and the hot breakfast was pretty good. I like that there was a waffle maker with toppings such as cinnamon, whipped cream, and powdered sugar to dress up your homemade waffle and there were a vast variety of food for breakfast. The room I had was fairly decent. There was a room dedicated to breakfast that looked like it could accommodate for 100 guest. It is an older facility like some of the furniture is not updated. The bathroom are very small. The only complaint I have was the room I was in had a funny smell to it. Overall, everything was 10 minutes away from this location.

Older facility, but maintained well. Nice staff, good hot breakfast with plenty of food options. Nice little pool & gift shop on property. They have hardwood/pergo type flooring in the guest rooms instead of carpeting, which was a change, but ok. Area seems to be a little on the rough side, but the property is well lit, and we felt safe staying there. Very close to DC, and all the Memorials, as well as Reagan national (DCA).

Room was large and relatively clean but the door didn't close all the way (deadbolt didn't close anything and it rattled). Large water damage on ceiling. We reserved this room to fly out of DCA for a week with 2 young kids. The advertise a hot breakfast but they don't serve until 6:30AM (we had to catch the 6AM shuttle for our flight). I asked if there was anyway to get milk, cereal, something for the kids and was told "you can buy something at the airport". Not a huge deal. Shuttle drivers are cold and unfriendly...again not a big deal as long as they get us to the airport safely. We did get to the airport without any problems and was told that when we returned to just call and they will send someone to get us. We called not once, not twice, but FOUR (maybe 5) times and waited AN HOUR before a shuttle was sent (and it was not rush hour). I was told it would be a 15-20 minute wait max. I stood outside the airport with my 2 young kids for an hour while the hotel kept assuring me someone had been sent (in fact they had not been sent). Once the driver picked us up from the last terminal the hotel called him to circle back through the airport to pickup someone else. This took an extra 20-30 minutes! Which pushed us into rush hour leaving DC....not convenient! I tried to contact the hotel to complain about the poor shuttle service but did not receive a response..so I am leaving this review to warn others to avoid this hotel if you want to rely on timely shuttle service.

Although this review may be slightly biased since we stayed at an absolute dump the night before, we found the room to be very nice, and most importantly, CLEAN. What drew us to this hotel was that it had free self-parking; something that is hard to find in Arlington and definitely in DC. The beds were nice and comfortable with clean pillows, sheets, and comforters. The room provided a safe which we didn't use but appreciated it if needed. The tv was great and the wifi worked better than most hotels as well. The A/C worked great and the water was hot. The only cons were that two outlets in the room didn't work which was kind of annoying...and the lavatory faucet in the bathroom leaked when not in use. The bathroom needed a little TLC overall since there was paint chipping and caulk peeling off the walls and tile. However, overall this was a very comfortable and clean place.

Over 50 mins wait after call for airport pick up. Once picked up by shuttle at airport, it took about 5 mins to get to hotel. 20 mins late for scheduled shuttle pick up. Supervisor did not a liable explanation. Rooms had a lot of bad patch repairs. Rooms are dated and not really pleasant to look at. Breakfast is great.

Shuttle was extremely helpful to get to the metro, hotel within a 5 min drive to some of the trendiest restaurants! We stayed primarily for a few days in DC and it was very convenient and took about 15 min from hotel door to downtown DC taking shuttle and metro. Breakfast was awesome with lots of choices and beds were very comfortable. Wifi worked good and showers were good. Pool looked nice but no time to swim.

Good value for money hotel. Big rooms (but a little worn out and a little smell of moisture) and ok outdoor pool area even though there was a lot of noise from the high way. Good with the free coffee we could take all day and we enjoyed the free shuttle service to Pentagon metro station. Located close to a very nice and clean city area (Cambell avenue) with good restaurants (especially Calyle). The reception staff mixed - one person had a wrong attitude (no energy, slow, not service minded, negative face, etc.) while another one was ok. Breakfast area very large but it was also too crowded during weekends with a lot of noise. Pool opens first at 12am during week days which is too late for us. Due to the low pricing the hotel gets 4 star rating. If we had paid full prive the rating would only have been a 3-star.

I enjoyed the stay here, Everything was great and every need was taken care of or assist with. The shuttle from the hotel to the subway station was so helpful and on time for pick ups and drop offs, The drivers were very cautious and helpful with a few questions about DC. Very nice hotel in a good location. Friendly, helpful staff. Hourly shuttle bus to the Metro which takes you to the monuments in about 15 minutes. Nice swimming pool that the kids enjoyed after a long day of sightseeing. Rooms were clean and spacious. Expanded continental breakfast was good with many selections. I would definitely stay here again on a future visit and would recommend it to others.

A littlw pricey considering the room was in dire need of maintenance/repair. Peeling wallpaper, wet carpet outside of the toilet/shower area, with no visible leaks seen. Mold underneath the sink, mirror in the shower area separating from the frame, rusty stains behind the door of the shower area, tub did not drain well, so stood in water while showering and tub faucet dripped. Bathroom just felt dirty/gross. The actual room was comfortable and nice and I liked that it had a secondary sink and countertop outside of the shower /toilet area. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Slept great! Nice fridge and microwave, plus there was a keurig in the room. Breakfast was pretty good and they changed the selection daily Received very good housekeeping services. Shuttle runs every 30 minutes, so that was a nice plus. Fairly good location so it was easy access to drive yourself to destinations. Except for the issues the plumbing seemed to be causing, it was great.

My wife and I chose to stay here instead of the Holiday Inn in DC recommended by out Travel Agent because of the price and breakfast. This facility is avg to below avg. a 2.5 but can't award that on Trip Advisor, it's showing its age badly. Room - ok but smelled moldy and AC filter was pretty dirty. Cleaned it myself. Beading was good and clean. Carpet was old and stained in areas. Amenities - the grounds are kept clean but are old and need serious maintenance. Pool was small, again it's aged but clean. Breakfast was below average not a selling point, messy and the staff was not overly attentive to the breakfast bar . Shuttle device was pretty good . Staff- I made a reservation over a month prior and after several attempts to get conformation emailed I had to email the GM. I did get the conformation and nothing else I expected a personal msg for the GM. The front desk was hit or miss. One woman whom I forgot name was extremely helpful but others were not. Overall the place was ok but tired. I will be staying elsewhere when we return next summer. For a family looking for "cheap" accom this is the place with low expectations We will prob stay at Holiday Inn in DC proper as recommended by Agent

I was skeptical at first because there are so many (places to stay) in Washington DC, that I was overwhelmed and repeatedly procrastinated booking a place. I finally settled on this one for 3 reasons, well 4 really. 1. Free and varied breakfast seemed to be the main theme of many of the positive reviews for this place. 2. Free shuttle every 30 minutes from 6 AM - 10 AM from the front of the hotel to the metro station. Very easy to navigate around. Free parking with the hotel so loved leaving the car at home. 3. The Outdoor pool; since our trip was in late July, it was literally 90-100 degrees for our entire stay. The pool is clean and refreshing, also surprisingly large. They do have a lifeguard on duty, and you have to get out of the pool when she takes her 15 minute break, which I thought was weird but whatever, it's really no big deal. 4. Finally, the price, as we paid $497.00 with all taxes and fees for four nights. The room is small but not terribly small, there is enough room for an air mattress which we always need because we lie about the fifth member of our family, and state we only have four people. This saves us a lot of money because otherwise we would have to rent two rooms at most of the hotels and motels in the world, and that is just crazy. The air-conditioning is ice cold. There is no refrigerator in the room which I think is the biggest minus, but not a reason not to stay here, because they have an ice machine where I filled my entire cooler. I hope this review helps you out. I would like to do an update once I have actually had breakfast, because as of this moment, it is the day of our arrival, and everything is great so far. We have been to the Arlington Cemetery and we are back at the pool. We are pretty much exhausted from driving 6 1/2 hours here today; which is seriously not terrible. The ride was rather painless, with very little traffic. I was pleasantly surprised because I was very apprehensive about driving through New York and New Jersey. Mostly everyone is just tired from having to get up and leave at 4:30 AM; so we are by the pool, enjoying it. There is a highway pretty close on the other side of the wall surrounding the pool. Again not a showstopper for me but just a heads up. We will spend very little time here, except to sleep maybe hang out at the pool a little bit so I think overall this place works. I'll tell you another thing, my wife is pretty hard to please, and she is happy with the place.

I stayed for four nights, the staff was nice, and tried to assist when necessary. Breakfast is fairly nice, and the shuttle is OK. Sometimes it may be off time table. Overall it was a nice stay. While it's conveniently located near the Metro, it is not close to any center so there is limited choice for food and other entertainment.

This hotel is an absolutely great value in a rather convenient location. We were driving and really appreciated the free parking. Most hotels in the area charge significantly for parking. When the need arises again to be in the Washington, DC area, I will definitely stay here again.

We had a room with two queen beds. The room had a nice sized safe for our valuables. Rooms were cleaned daily with plenty of hand towels and bath towels. Very good coffee maker with coffee pods replenished daily. Air conditioner worked really well, especially considering the temperatures during our stay were in the 90s. The outdoor swimming pool was cleaned daily and was staffed by a life guard. If you have kids or grandchildren, there will be plenty of kids at the pool to play with.

We continue to stay at this location.....benefits are rooms are always available. They have an excellent breakfast and it's free, the staff is always friendly, it's close to the Reagan Airport, they provide free shuttle to the Metro Stop, the parking is FREE. We had an error on our credit card when we received our monthly statement. I called the hotel and spoke with the front desk staff and they were able to pull up our information and they corrected the error. It was posted on my account in just a couple of days. We go to DC a couple of times a year to visit family and we will continue to stay at this location. Note that this is an older hotel, there are no elevators and the bathrooms haven't really been updated, HOWEVER, the hotel is always clean and the housekeeping personnel are very friendly and helpful if you ask for anything.

We spent 4 nights here as our base to enjoy DC. Positives: the free shuttle to the Pentagon City area was VERY convenient to the Metro, to food options in the food court, and to a 24 hour parking garage outside of DC. The outdoor pool offered a relaxing break on every day during our stay. The breakfast was good with lots of options every morning. The staff was friendly and responsive to our needs. Negatives: somewhat dated in appearance, had to move rooms because of a tub that wouldn't drain and two rather large roach-looking insects, traffic noise and several sirens passing by to the freeway.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights while in town for a baby shower. We had two adults and four children in adjoining rooms. It was very comfortable. There were a few minor things that weren't perfect but overall it was a pleasant stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was great and the breakfast was amazing. We will definitely stay here again.

This motel is very dated. It has been attempted to be updated, but in the cheapest ways possible. The hair dryer in our room would not plug in, because the receptacle had a built in light switch that blocked the plug. The toilet paper roll is installed directly beside the toilet where it juts into your leg because the toilet is next to the wall. There's no reason why it couldn't have been installed just 6 inches higher. The TV's are flat screen, bu they are mounted flush to the wall, so you can't attach anything to it. There were also no convenient electrical outlets in our room. There were all beside the middle of the beds. I noticed other rooms had an outlet strip below the TV, but ours did not. One bizarre thing, was that there was only one ice machine and it was in a separate building from our motel room, so it was a good walk to go get ice. The beds were comfortable, and ours were in bed bug proof cases. The air conditioner in the room was pathetic. It didn't seem to matter what temperature or fan speed it was set to, it would just barely blow some cool air. Luckily, the temperature was fairly mild the week we stayed there this past June. There are mystery vents over the bathroom that seem to do nothing but leak hot air into the room, and the ventilation fan in the bathroom didn't seem to actually draw any air. The rooms are all exterior rooms, and it look like a typical motor inn from the 50's and 60's. The breakfast was good, and well stocked. Do NOT pick this hotel for its free shuttle. When my wife made a complaint to the front desk about the shuttle (see below), and asked if there was an opinion card or survey to fill out about it, they said not to bother, because management knows the shuttles are overwhelmed and they don't care. In fact, my wife was told they were considering discontinuing the shuttle altogether. So if you do plan on using the shuttle, better call ahead and make sure they still have one. The shuttle is way too small to serve the motel. The shuttles are just passenger vans with 3 benches to fit about 11 people safely. To make it worse, the shuttle is "shared" with the Comfort Inn next door, and they pick up there first, so if the guests at the Comfort Inn fill up the shuttle before it gets to the Best Western, you are out of luck until the next one comes. When they say the shuttles run every 30 minutes, they mean it. It doesn't matter if there were still people left waiting at the metro station. I never had the trip to or from the motel last more than 10 minutes, so the drivers must just go and sit somewhere before they go back out, even if they know they left people stranded somewhere. There are no lines or any order at the Metro stop, and it is strictly first come first served, so if you see the van coming, you have run to where you think it will stop, and shove your way on, or you will get left behind (sometimes more than once meaning you will be waiting for more than hour). Because the vans are so small, we would routinely pile in 15 or 20 people with kids, and some teenagers sitting in the aisle or on laps. One of the times we got left behind the driver made a call on his phone, and said another van is coming. It still took another 30-40 minutes before it showed up, so it didn't really seem to make a difference that he "called" anyone. I'm not sure that many of the drivers speak English, as we would ask them questions, and some of them would just stare at you, until you looked away, or just nod and point without answering verbally. One of the drivers was very good, well spoken and polite, but he was the only one. The pool was nice, and well kept. I was surprised that the had an actual lifeguard in place, but the poor thing usually has to spend most of her time getting hit on by much older guys at the pool. They advertised having guest laundry, however, when we finally found it (second floor of the second building in the middle hallway), all of the washers were marked as out of order, and only one dryer said it worked. When we went to the front desk, they didn't seem to care much, and said if we really needed to, we could take our clothes up to the Comfort Inn next door as it was owned by the same company. having no other choice, we did so, and found the Comfort Inn only had 1 washer and 1 dryer shoved against a soda machine in a tiny hallway. Luckily, we got there while they weren't in use. I felt really bad, when someone who was actually staying at that hotel came in to use them, and had to wait 3 hours for my clothes to finish. The wi-fi was decent, but they apparently change the passwords without telling you, and you have to call the front desk to get the new one. In case it matters, the motel is next door to a small graveyard with a stone wall separating it from the motel parking lot. You can only really see it from the second floor. It didn't bother us, but this may be a concern to some people.

I really liked this hotel because they didn't charge for parking unlike most other hotels in the Arlington, VA / DC area. It was also 4th of July weekend, so many hotels were packed. I booked it on the morning of 6/29. My room was clean, the restrooms were clean, the tv was an updated flat screen with cable. The check-lobby staff were very nice, especially in the morning and afternoons. There is a small gift shop behind the lobby in a separate building in case you forgot something at home. There's also a small internet bank of computers in the lobby area in the event you don't have a cell for the WiFi. I enjoyed seeing old military friends that transferred into the DC area.

We stayed the last week of June for 4 nights. I had a very time finding a room near DC with 2 queen size beds, a pool, and free parking. I was pleasantly surprised by our room. Nice size, comfy beds, and clean. We were by the road but the only noise was motorcycles racing around the street. The bathroom was small and had issues but it was clean and the water pressure was incredible. We paid extra for a fridge and microwave and it was well worth it to have cold drinks in our room. The pool was nice and my kids enjoyed it. Breakfast was wonderful and easily saved us $30-$50 every day. All staff were very pleasant. Our only complaint was the shuttle. They share with the hotel next door and while it was nice to have we had a difficult time getting back from Pentagon City Metro station. There is no line so we got stuck waiting 45+ minutes a every afternoon. After a long day of walking it was too much to have to fight to get a seat back. Several times people just walked up and pushed their way in front of you without waiting their turns. I'm sure our times of returning to the hotel didn't help(5-7pm). Also of note was their is not restaurant at the hotel or within walking distance.(Hotel next door serves dinner after 5pm but we didn't try it). We ordered pizza and had it delivered the first night at the suggestion of hotel staff and it was very good.

I was able to set up our three night stay easily in Booking.com and found rates in our price range. The beds were very comfortable and the hot breakfast was great! The room we stayed in had some updates, but it is an older hotel. They do offer a shuttle service to the metro line, but we did not use it. There were a few minor repairs that needed to be fixed in our room, which we turned into the front office. The office staff was friendly and answered any questions we had. Housekeeping did a nice job keeping our room straightened and clean.

This Best Western is a great location close to Washington DC. The value for the nightly stay was excellent. Breakfast is offered with many choices yet differs slightly from day to day. The breakfast staff works well together making sure everything is clean and replenished. A free shuttle for the airport and the metro is a tremendous added value. Tipping the drivers is always a smart thing to do. Computer station with printer available comes in handy. Overall, the staff is friendly and helpful.

This motor lodge style of hotel is a little dated, but it was clean. The double queen room we had was large enough. The beds were ok. The housekeeping service was good, but was done late in the day. Breakfast is provided and was ample. Transportation is offered to DCA airport and Pentagon City Mall and Metro Station about every 30 min. from 6 AM to 10 PM . Good overall stay.

We stayed here on a family vacation. Staff was extremely nice and accommodating. The hot/free breakfast was worth the stay!! The shuttle service to the metro station was very nice and convenient. During peak hours of travel we had to make other arrangement for travel because they only have two large vans to transport people. So if you couldn't fit on the shuttle you had to wait 30-min to an hour for the next. Pool was nice but it closes at 9pm. It would be nice if it stayed open until 10. After walking all day it was nice to get into the pool. Overall it was a nice, family friendly place to stay when you are on a budget. We would stay again.

Nice area of town with easy freeway access. Hotel shuttle to/from nearest metro station. Nice large pool area outdoors. Large breakfast selections of both hot and cold items. Parking right outside of room was nice.

The service and room were good. Shuttle service was very helpful. There is a very nice food court at Pentagon City station which we ate at several times. The swimming pool was nice and monitored by a lifeguard.

We visited the hotel last week and since the arrival the staff was very friendly and helpful. The front desk lady (with pink glasses) let us make an early check in and explained to us how the shuttle worked , hours of breakfast and even that the Eisenhower room had ice hehe. The breakfast was very good and with many options from cereal, yogurts, waffles and eggs! The shuttle arrived every 30 mins and gave rides to the pentagon city metro station that is very easy to move to all point of the city from there. The room was clean, comfy and had a fridge , microwave and even a coffeemaker. It was a very pleasant stay. The only think was that they put on hold on your card the total cost of your stay even if you already paid for it , but it's stated on a memo in the front desk.

The motel is a bit dated, especially the bathrooms, but the bed was comfortable and they served a full breakfast, something different every day. The shuttle came every 30 minutes. For us, this was the perfect place to stay. We just needed a comfortable bed, good breakfast & shuttle. Plus, we were able to stay an extra day & save $46 from one of the other hotels in the area. We wanted to spend our money on sightseeing, not the hotel.

I've stayed all over the DC area before, but this was our first time on this side of Arlington. You are about 3 miles from the nearest Metro station, but they have a free shuttle that runs semi-regularly. It says there is a shuttle every 30 minutes, but during rush hour it can take a good bit longer. The pool is decent and has a life guard on duty. The breakfast is excellent and changes every day with hot and cold options. It could get a bit noisy, but what hotel isn't? If you are looking for something right in the heart of DC, this isn't for you, but for a family looking for a good place to stay at a reasonable rate, this is your place.

We recently stayed here on our trip to D.C. When i called to make a reservation the night before we arrived the person taking the information was so nice to talk to! She was very helpful in choosing a room to fit us. When we arrived we were greeted as if we were long lost family! The clerk who checked us in took the time to explain how to use the metro and about the shuttle to the metro station. The only draw back was that the laundry room was not available due to equipment failure so we had to walk over to their sister property to do the laundry. I will say that i peeked into the laundry room and it was very nice with multiple washers and dryers. i cannot say that about the sister property which had only 1 washer and dryer tucked in a alcove in the hallway. I had to wait over 2 hours to be able to do our clothes. That part sucked! We did eat dinner at the sister property the first night and it was good, not great but good. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The property is dated but fairly well maintained. The pool area although we did not use it was very spacious. This hotel has a gift shop that was very unique in that it was located near the pool. They had a good assortment of things including snacks and stuff. The room next to us has several children and at first there might be a problem with noise but they quieted down and all was well. Breakfast was hot and was included in the price of the room. We would stay here again it is very well located to the metro and they people are fabulous!!!!!

We recently stayed there for 2 weeknights. The prices in the area were very high, so we picked this place for price and location. The rooms were god sized,clean, and reasonably comfortable. Obviously recently renovated, not rebuilt, but perfectly acceptable. The shower in the older bathroom had great water pressure! (Room 345) Try rinsing shampoo out of long hair under a new restricted flow shower head!As mentioned elsewhere, the seating in the room was uncomfortable, but it was O.K. for 2 nights. Swimming pool was good sized, with a lifeguard. Only sun heated, however. There is a full breakfast included, but when we were there, nothing was warm enough. I suppose we could have used the microwave to zap what we wanted. The hot drinks are in the hall, which involved a bit of back and forth. We saw the shuttle, but never used it. All in all, we would stay here again.

Base room-two doubles-has no really comfortable chair for reading or watching T V. Restaurant on sister property, Comfort Inn, easily walkable but wasn't open till 5:00. Limited menu and no hard liquor, only beer and wine. They do have menus from several local places which deliver. Pool does not allow smoking or bringing in drinks, but they do have a lifeguard. Best thing is shuttle to local Metro station as well as Reagan airport. But...be aware that you will need to stand in line outside the lobby and wait for it, and expect there to be a dozen other folks out there with you...be patient and allow plenty of time-at least 30 minutes for your turn. When you get on the train sit in the first couple cars and look to the right and left as you approach stations-in the last cars you may not get to the station identification signs before you stop so you might not know where you are. There are real live people to help you at each station, so you shouldn't be stumped by all the automated equipment. Hot breakfast is certainly good enough-but no bacon! Only sausage links and patties. Staff at desk and breakfast room are pleasant and attentive.

Our first vacation as an extended family and we could not have been more frustrated. Promised shuttle service that was never sufficient for the amount of guests. Promised on site laundry that wasn't working so we needed to walk to the next hotel to wash clothes. A lifeguard at the pool that wouldn't let us bring in a plastic bottle of water, but allowed other guests to bring in beer cans. Dingy rooms that weren't ready on time and, in my opinion, weren't ready when we were told they finally were. The final insult? 4 people behind the front desk and NOT ONE could be bothered just now to look up the number for a cab company that could take my 7 family members back to the airport; no, the front desk was not busy. And one of the employees was in management. I'm in the customer service industry in a tourism market and we would NEVER treat our guests like this. Find another place to rest your head....these people don't appreciate our tourism dollars or they would provide better service. Very disappointed.

We needed an inexpensive place to stay in a safe location near the walking mall at Shirlington so we could attend our son's performance at The Signature Theatre. This little hotel is perfect for a short stay. Easily accessible and in a safe area. The price was right, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was great! Nothing fancy but gave us what we needed.

Was looking for a place close to the monuments and this place is it. Just off of I-395, it's got easy access to the major sites in the area. The hotel itself offers some nice features as well - free wifi, parking and buffet breakfast. There's also a complimentary shuttle service that runs every 1/2 hour. I didn't personally use it, but it runs to the airport as well as the metro station, maybe other places. The room was pretty nice - 2 queen beds, mini fridge, microwave and Keurig. I know some people have reported walls being very thin, but it didn't seem to be an issue as there was only 1 day that I could hear kids in another room, but even that was brief. The one inconvenience, door needed a bit of effort to close properly, but other than that, I would say I had a very nice stay.

Breakfast was really good, we liked the variety and quality. It was louder than I would have liked (get a room on the upper floor to avoid hearing everything in the morning). TV and channel options were nice. The bathroom was covered in mold (under the wallpaper) but otherwise the room was nice. Comfortable bed. Thermostat worked well. Fitness center was in a creepy basement and just not very nice, I chose not to use it because of that. Was frustrated that we almost had to beg to get a 15-30 minute extension on our check-out time when we were visiting my sick grandmother and the buses were running late on the way back. Other then that we found the staff and shuttle drivers to be friendly and accommodating. For us the shuttle to metro station station and airport was nice so we didn't have to rent a car but left us with only 1 option of food once we returned at night (the restaurant at the Comfort Inn, however the food there was tasty, friendly service and quick).

We arrived here beyond stressed after attempting to navigate the hellish traffic, and within a few minutes had relaxed totally. Perfect check-in, lovely pool with lifeguard, room was great with everything we needed. This is an older style motel type, but it has been renovated and the main block containing lobby and dining room seems newer. There is also a small shop. Breakfast next morning was nice, hot food plus waffles, pastries, bagels etc. The only downside? Leaving next morning into that hellish traffic again!

"Not Worth the Money"

While the furnishings and decor were nice, the room itself had not been well maintained. Cracked and peeling paint on the ceiling, rust on the bathroom door hinges, poor paint job in the bathroom, light fixtures hung crooked and had paint on them, very low ceiling in the bathroom. It was obvious the building is very old and hadn't been well maintained. Putting in new furnishings and decor does not cover up poor maintenance. Not to mention the staff was neither helpful nor friendly....both the check in and check out clerks were completely indifferent and couldn't have cared less about us or our stay.

"Highly recommend the PENTAGON B.W. motel; FILLING BREAKFAST!" ?Shuttles need to park right by CURB IF possible!! I fell right thru the cheap folk-up step stool. By Pentagon City metro, it is hard to park near curb since ALL shuttles, taxis, & personal cars park there. But TRY as best as you can for us handicapped folks ok? thanks! NEED TO BE STURDY, CHROME STEP STOOLS! Need to have at least 6 HIGH RISE toilet seats that go over existing toilets for those of us who have had HIP replacements. Need GRAB bars by toilets to help get up from the LOW toilets. Need grab bar in tub/shower area to get out. A portable BED RAILING that goes between matress and spring would be helpful for us handicapped folks. I visited personally with mgr; he was very RECEPTIVE to my concerns I brought up to him from a handicapped person's perspective. Noise from adjacent rooms came thru to my room in wee am hours. I called front desk; they talked personally to offending party. ?LARGE BUFFET BREAKFAST that was varied daily. BACON SUPER GOOD; I can't make it that good at home even! Staff very helpful; I needed some maintenance; they were there PROMPTLY and fixed things ;) Shuttle service was great getting us to metro areas.

"Friendly, Safe, Quiet"

This is an older but clean motel in a safe neighborhood. The bathrooms are small but adequate. The breakfast was great with plenty of choices. There is only one restaurant within walking distance, and it is only open for dinner so make plans to eat lunch while out sightseeing. The hotel shuttle runs every 30 minutes and drops off and picks up at the subway/mall and Reagan airport. Would definitely stay here again.

If you want to see Washington DC consider this hotel. They have a shuttle to the train station and it is only a 5 minute ride to Arlington National Cemetery and a 15 minute ride to downtown DC. If you're a senior, 65 or over, a senior pass gives you a ride to DC for $1.05. We were there a week and never moved the car. The hotel has friendly staff and a really great breakfast included.

very good experience. I thought being that close to the airport might be annoying because of the noise, but found out later there were no flights after 11:00 pm. I try to always stay at a Best Western because of the comfortable beds and cleanliness of the room.

Old 2 story motel basis. Saw no elevator and I had 2nd floor. Old interiors. Tight bathrooms. Hotel looked tired. Maybe tear down and build new BW Plus. Staff very nice and efficient. Picked for location relative to Reagan and in moderate price range. Will go up in price another $50 next time and get into something nicer

The hotel was very nice. It was quiet and clean. Everyone was very friendly. However; Gabrielle (Gabby) in the breakfast service area made the entire stay the most enjoyable for our grand daughter, also a "Gabby". The two of them hit it off. She is great at her job and very friendly to the guests. I would definitely suggest a stay at this hotel to anyone going to be in the area.

Soon as I entered the room-it was more than expected. The room was nice but could use more AC and the staff was excellent. Only problem was the guest printer didn't have any ink-but the staff fixed that quickily and we were on our way to finish our trip.

Highly recommended affordable, nice and clean hotel. Convenient on nearby interesting places, with the help of shuttle bus kind driver (s). Friendly and helpful front desk Staffs. Kitchen common place for visitors' breakfast venue was good and clean. Definitely will be back in this hotel (again) next time I visit Washington DC. The room is old but serviceable. One of the beds had a lump and a dip. Breakfast was the highlight of the stay. Staff seems to be doing the best they can with what they have. If you plan to do laundry, be warned that the dryers take your money and stop within 5 minutes and do not dry your wet clothes.

This may have been an older Best Western, & rooms do need a make-over!! They are a little run down!! Rooms need painting & a good cleaning. The breakfast was excellent!! All kind of choices!! The breakfast room was one of the largest we have seen!! Plenty of tables, no shortage of seats!! Excellent staff in the breakfast room!! A short shuttle ride to the subway, which is the only way to travel in the D.C. area!!

I arrived past midnight and had to walk up a flight of stairs with my suitcase because there was no help. When I asked for help the desk clerk offered to cancel my reservation! For the money I paid the room was satisfactory. If you are looking for service, style and ambiance book a different hotel.

Thin walls, sloping beds, mold smell and peeling wall paper. Could hear everything going on in other rooms. Not worth the price of this hotel. No refrigerator in room. Breakfast room was hot. Need to turn on AC and cool that room down. Had to get the keys rekeyed after 2 days of a 3 day stay. Great location to the activities we participated in during retirement activities.

The breakfast was ample and tasty. Much better scrambled eggs than I've had at similar places. We enjoyed the waffles. The bed & pillows were quite comfortable. The room was good size. Having a shuttle (shared with Comfort Inn next door) to Pentagon City Mall (where we could catch the subway or "Big Bus" Hop-On, Hop-Off Tour) was what made the location good. There was a strip mall nearby on Glebe with a supermarket named Giant. The bathroom, though clean, wasn't the best--a constant drip from the tub spout left a lot of rust stains in the tub, but it was actually a little stream so we didn't hear drips. The towels were rather thin. The laundry situation was a problem: Laundry was on the second floor of one of the buildings-steep steps, no elevator, $1.50 in quarters. The washer (there were 3) worked but the dryer barely warmed up & did not dry after 2 13-minute sessions. The next dryer smelled like there had been hot electrical wire problem. The 3rd machine was in the corner, partially obstructed by a post. After many trips up & down the steep stairs to the office for more quarters we were referred with our wet laundry to Comfort Inn, a 7 story building with only one washer & dryer (in use). Eventually, after getting our quarters back from the office, we tried the awkward dryer in the corner & for $3 our clothes were mostly dry. We had heard, several days before, that there was a problem in the laundry & that people were being sent to Comfort Inn. Since there were no "out of order" signs in the laundry we assumed the problem was fixed. Unfortunately, we wasted a lot of time.

I had a very good stay thanks to front staff Kim and Male. I arrived in the hotel after an overnight flight and with little sleep and so was looking forward to a restful afternoon and unresponsive staff was the last thing I expected. I had an issue with my booking (my fault not theirs) but the morning staff I met were very uncooperative not only to me but to another group of customers. They did not offer to assist in the booking mix up. Then comes Kim like a ray of sunshine in the late afternoon shift and she was very helpful. She did not only handle my booking issues but also sorted the issue of outage of WiFi in my room promptly. She with fellow staff Male also assisted me find a place to have dinner later after I had rested. The rooms are very clean and big enough. I would however advice one to take rooms near the reception. I was at room 318 at the far end and it was inconvenient going to the reception and breakfast in a downpour. The WiFi also is not as strong in the room as it is near the reception. The sheets were clean but have seen better days. a new pair would improve the experience. The room and bathroom were also very clean. One thing that is excellent is their breakfast. It is long since I had such good breakfast in a hotel. The shuttle bus from the airport and to the metro is very reliable and convenient. It is a relief since the hotel is far from the city.

My mom and I came to DC to renew her Swedish passport and wanted to find a hotel within our budget. The staff here is amazing and the room is very clean! We can definitely tell the staff takes pride in their work! Great price for a great stay!

The room was very clean and decently appointed. Beds were nice. The walls were paper thin, so when some louder people arrived past midnight, we could tell. The shuttle ran frequently from both the hotel and the Pentagon metro, as well as the airport. The staff were awesome! They held our luggage, directed us to where we needed to be and were lovely to chat with! Breakfast was great. Two waffle makers are better than one. There was plenty of everything from hot entrees to cereal, bread, and coffee. The few downsides were that it was fair walk to the nearest 7-11 and there aren't really any restaurants within walking distance. The train is also a bit too far to walk with kids. A few weird choices of hotel details were added, like a weird frame around the mirror that prevented you from using the tap handle. If you are staying with a car, you'll have a close parking space and access to some of the world's best restaurants.

This was a last-minute choice when my outbound flight was cancelled due to weather. Rooms were scare, and I was able to book my room by calling the hotel directly. The room was clean and comfortable; microwave and fridge were available. The decor would be "quaint", especially the bathroom. The hotel has a shuttle from Reagan National Airport and Metro. There is no on-site restaurant. A 10-minute walk down the road (although under an Interstate highway) provides access to a Pizza Hut, Chinese take-out, and a convenience store where I purchased a microwave meal and beverages. The free breakfast is very nice with lots of dining area and many choices. Fresh fruit is always in the lobby.

This property was super helpful and accommodating to us, they helped us to not only get around the city but also helped us with small thing like plates and forks for dinner one night when we forgot them. They had great breakfast in the mornings, Waffles every morning, pancakes some mornings, french toast, and even breakfast burritos, had sausage every morning and a lot of other choices.

"Keeping it real"

As a woman on a budget traveling with a child I look for hotels that are affordable with specific musts. I often read reviews that I find myself wondering if the writers are in the same travel class as we are. This hotel in my research met my specifics and the reviews were mixed so I decided to go for it. Do I regret it, let's see... Specifics; 1)free breakfast- poor set up/selection , unhelpful staff and no half and half for coffee. 2) laundry- I can't afford to check both of our luggage so I need laundry by the end of the trip. The laundry was broken, and when asked how long I was told a week. Instead I was sent over to the Comfort Inn property that apparently is owned by the same folks. Over there the elevator is broken for 6 months (as told by staff) to get to 4th floor laundry where there is one wash/dry for all of comfort inn and best western . Maybe 300-500 rooms. 3) Security/free from allergy inducing smells such as smoke/cleanliness -We changed rooms 3 times until we settled on the 4th room. Busted door locks ( I just pushed one open), smoke/ masking air freshener smell. Also Brillo pad mouse traps. Final room air conditioner leaked but I didn't care at that point. Price- Yes the price was reasonable $597 for 5 nights but I didn't save any more with having to go out for breakfast and lost time with laundry and room changes. I would not stay here or the sister property comfort inn. These two properties need a major renovation .

The shuttle to the Metro Pentagon City station was great. We did not have to wait as some have complained about and there were several shuttles running the whole time we were there. The rooms were great..missed not having a fridge/microwave but not enough to avoid staying again. Loved the extra stand alone sink set up in the bath room. Should have reserved ground floor since it is stair access only to second floor. Great staff!!!!!

well located - we had a car and parking available with no problem. Nice hotel where we stayed 1 night to visit DC the following day. We had a 2 queen size bedroom and was perfect for us. Room was big and confortable.

The breakfast in the morning was worth it. Lots of variety, all three days. The shuttle is a nice feature, as parking in DC is expensive and hard to find. The walls were thin and we heard the neighbors pretty easily even though they were talking at normal levels. The internet worked but we frustratingly slow.

Had to stay here one day before moving to a decent conference hotel in DC. Pricey at $173. PROS. Clean room, great breakfast, shuttle (did not use it though). CONS. Gave us handicapped room without asking if it was ok. It was a business booking and I thought that they would be more attentive. So there was no bathtub and water went everywhere when showering. The room was stuffy and the fan was slow. It cooled the curtains rather than the room. There was no replacement toilet paper in the room. There is no restaurant within walking distance through a safe neighborhood although one could take the shuttle to Pentagon station. We ate at the Comfort inn restaurant next door. Food choices are limited but service was excellent and fast. Will not return.

A little way out and our cab driver suggested we go elsewhere. Check in OK but slow but rooms were dank and uninviting and dirty despite some beautiful towel folding. Between major roads and felt like the sort of place they set murder scenes. Breakfast normal us fare and OK. Shuttle bus poorly managed and had to wait a long time with one missed collection where the bus just sped past. You can get a lot better for the same money elsewhere

Our room was very clean, the staff was awesome! The shuttle was slow-ish in circulating but was perfectly usable getting to and from the airport and the Metro. It is worth noting that there is nothing else in this neighborhood so finding food/ snack and stuff was difficult. The metro is quite far making the shuttle a necessity. Breakfast was abundant. Make your own waffle stations were super and in working order! The walls could use a little more insulation. the room next to ours had individuals who were chatting most of the night and we could hear them pretty well.

"Not up to scratch"

I am not sure about the description "newly renovated". The hotel is like something out of the 70's. Hotel is probably a bit of a misdescription too - I would class as a motel - all room doors opening to the outside. My room was dark and smelt damp. It was clean. The only lighting in the bedroom was from 2 table lamps, one of which did not work. The bathroom was clean but not a pleasant room - a low ceiling, old fixtures etc. There was no bar or restaurant but facilities were available at the Comfort Inn next door (adequate but not somewhere you would want to spend the evening). Location good - a short ride from Reagan Airport and not too far (short cab ride) to restaurants and bars of Crystal City. Would I stay there again - no - most definitely not!

"The Good, the ok and the BAD!"

Where to start? First, The Good: The breakfast. every morning a hot breakfast with lots of different options (eggs, sausage, bacon, cereal, yogurt, fruit etc). They even had a sign up indicating they have gluten free options available. there is also a restaurant next door in the Comfort Inn with good food. the ok: The shuttle. For the most part, we had no issue with the shuttle at all. It ran on the 1/2 hour as indicated and most of the time it was early for us. We had one or two times where it was late but for the most part no problems. the bad: upon entering the hotel we were sort of greeted by a somewhat pleasant lady. She checked us in and told us where our room was. Now having been up since 3:00 a.m. that day, we were exhausted. We had to walk, suitcases and all almost to the end of the third building. (Note: there are 3 buildings, but this is not your typical Best Western, this appears to have been a motel-perhaps a Motel 6 which they revamped into a Best Western. Doors on the outside of the each room). Once we got to our room, our keys did not work. I walked back to the hotel lobby and exchanged keys. I came back to the room and the keys did not work again. I walked back to the lobby and got new keys again. This time, maintenance came to see if he could figure out the problem. His master key didn't work. Then he went to get an actual key (not the hotel cards), which also didn't work. He tried his master key card again and got us in the room. We had ongoing problems with our keys the entire time we stayed. sometimes it took 3 or 4 tries to get the door to open. Instead of fixing the door, they just left it for us to struggle with the entire time. the Shower: First night we are there and of course we are exhausted. Went to take a shower and the shower head blew off the hose. The water pressure caused it to blow off and fall on the floor. Maintenance comes to fix it. The fact that this happened showed that no one had used that room in a long time and maintenance didn't do anything to check it out prior to someone staying there. the fridge: We asked for a room with a refrigerator/microwave. No problem, they gave us one. The problem was that the temperature on the refrigerator was set so high it was actually a freezer. we tried several times to turn the temperature down, but the knob wasn't able to be turned at all. Anything we put in there just froze. A pointless feature to have if it doesn't work. The walls are PAPER THIN. on more than one occasion we could hear the TV in the rooms next to us. we could hear the voices of the people next to us at all hours of the morning. the air conditioner/heater. This may not be a problem for some people, however, it was for me. The fan on the air conditioner is so quiet, if you need noise to sleep don't count on the fan setting. You can put the air conditioner on but it doesn't stay on the entire time (same with the heater). Again, this may not bother some people. the staff: honestly, there was only one person who was pleasant to us. There was a young man in the lobby who was nice and went out of his way to help us. Everyone else acted like we were a burden. there doesn't appear to be security at all. There is a police vehicle parked in front of the hotel, but it was parked in that spot the entire time but I never saw a police officer. I think the car is there to deter people but they don't actually have any security.

Very nice, clean, older MOTEL. No complaints at all. Just a warning to someone arriving late at night, alone, by taxi/Uber/Lyft/shuttle: you do have to walk outside to get to your room. And to those with luggage: you may have to climb stairs to get to your room.

"Spring Break Trip"

Spent 4 days and 3 nights here with my boyfriend, my mom, and my brother. We were planning a budget family trip to spend spring break in DC, and we could have not gotten any luckier! Absolutely loved this hotel (especially for the price we found it at). The interactions we had with the staff were all friendly--they helped answer all my questions about the area, food, and shuttles. They offer a FREE shuttle that leaves the hotel and heads to one of the local metros right outside of DC and to the airport on a half hour basis at both early and late hours. They would even come pick us back up from the metro station! The hotel is probably about 25-30 minutes from DC itself, and about 10 minutes from the Arlington Metro which from there is only about a 5 minute ride into DC. There was a Keurig in the room with a decent selection of K Cups and sweeteners. We had plenty of towels and wash cloths for all of us, and the bedding was clean. I appreciated their optional service to not have all your towels and sheets replaced every day in an effort to reduce water use to help the planet. The water temperature and pressure in the shower was excellent! The shower did leak all over the bathroom floor, but I think it was from the high pressure against the fabric curtains rather than something that needed repair. The newer flat screen TV was nice and worked which coming from most budget hotels where there are old broken TVs made us happy. Our room was located under the washer room and was a little noisey when they were doing laundry late at night, but nothing that was hard to sleep through (my mother is a light sleeper and it did not wake her). The ice machine was hard to find, but we only needed a bit for our cooler on our return trip so it wasn't the end of the world. The free breakfast was delicious! There were plenty of options that were changed up each day. There was a computer and printer that guests had access to that we were able to use to print out museum tickets; a nice touch that helped make everything run smoother. I plan on staying here again when we make a return trip.

The shuttle service was great. We got to DC in the early mornin and check-in wasn't until way later. Despite this, they allowed us to park in the hotel parking lot and take their shuttle service to the metro! The shuttle was timely. The breakfast had a great selection--hot and cold items. My kids loved the hot chocolate! The rooms were rather scary. Upon entering, it appeared to be a typical, low-cost hotel room-- however, wall paper was falling off in the bathrooms. There was mold in the bathroom as well. The beds were comfortable. Taking the price of the hotel and our situation into consideration, I would consider staying here again. If you are a budget traveler, this isn't a bad option--so long as you aren't particularly picky about it falling apart.

When we booked our room we were at the mercy of the Internet. Some times you look at rooms online and things are not as they appear. But, in our case we were pleasantly surprised for when we first arrived we could tell that this establishment was to be at a high caliber because the quality, cleanliness and appearance of the lobby were impeccable. We will visit this Hotel again. There really is no need to look any other place because we have been at top hotels before and this one is a true Gem.

Clean, efficient and quiet location accessible to DC attractions and business. Good access by bus, cab and Hotel mini bus and close to DC Metro and airport. Cost is affordable especially if compared to similar hotel offerings with Washington. This Hotel is a good option.

"Good stay on a budget"

We were here for 2 days for a funeral at Arlington. Previous reviews were spot on. We found the rooms good for size, but could use a more thorough cleaning. Main area was fine, but bathroom looked like it was put together with left over screws on almost all fixtures. Strange to only put 1 bath towel in bathroom; others were out in second sink area. Room itself was set up better than most others with plenty of outlets, including a stand alone dual plug and dual USB charging station. Even the microwave had 2 additional plugs available. There was also a Keurig in the room including 4 K-cups, 2 coffee, 1 decaf and 1 English breakfast. This was a nice touch. Breakfast items were changed the 2 days we were there. HOT coffee machine, different main dishes, made your own waffles, donuts, toast, muffins, yogurt. Quite a good assortment for an included breakfast. Overall, it was a good stay and if they can figure out how to clean better and make the fixtures look better, this would move up quite a bit in rankings. For what we paid, we'd easily stay here again.

"Ok for one night"

My boyfriend and I were going to a wedding in Ohio, and stayed here so we could take the shuttle to Reagan as we had a very early flight. For starters, we had a lot of luggage and no one offered to help us with any of it. There were no luggage carts and our room was at the very end, outside of the main office. Second, the shuttle we needed to take was at 6:30 in the morning, and breakfast started at 6:30 in the morning. You can see how this was a problem for us. We will not stay here again.

"Convenience and Comfort for a Good Price"

Not fancy, but clean and convenient as a place to recharge after sightseeing. PROs: Clean and spacious ground-floor room (this property only has 2 levels), very little road noise despite being on the side of a busy road and bus stop, comfortable bed, good shower, refrigerator and coffee maker, no problems with wi-fi. Free shuttle to Pentagon City Metro Station and Reagan airport was convenient. Breakfasts were good and plenty of choices. There is adequate seating, unlike many hotels, because it is served in a conference room. CONs: Room was dated, bathroom was banged up (peeling wallpaper, trim scuffed and in need of paint.) Walls are thin and I listened to a long phone conversation in the next room until midnight one night. Hairdryer was positioned on wall beside toilet and could be a safety hazard. Towel bar was loose and I had to put it back together a couple times.Toilet tank filled very slowly (30-60 minutes) and made a constant hissing noise. The maid removed the box of tissues (not empty) from the vanity the second day and it was never replaced. Shuttle rides back to the hotel in the evening were often full and the typical wait time was 30 minutes. They have 2 vans but could use another, particularly during the busy season, since the property appears to be popular with school and church groups that can easily fill the van with their group alone.

Right off the freeway. Good place for people with kids and cars. (parking at your door) Handy free shuttle to the DC metro. Great, full breakfast. Rooms are spacious and include a frig and microwave in addition to a coffee maker.

We only stayed one night and we were pleased with our stay. The room was comfortable and spacious. We have never stayed there and was expecting a regular continental breakfast, but it turned out to be a huge breakfast buffet. Clean environment and extremely nice and helpful staff.

"Good Breakfast"

Our room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. It did not matter to us that it was an older motel with a few things in need of update, because we knew we would not be in the room except to sleep and shower. The TV/remote and Wi-Fi worked beautifully. The Keurig coffee maker in the room was awesome. The (complimentary) full breakfast buffet was the best part. The selection, quantity, and quality was incredible...unlimited, delicious, fresh choices. There were 3 hard working employees in there doing a great job keeping things replenished. The coffee was the best. Every day our room was cleaned in a timely manner, and the linens and towels were always fresh. Our only complaint about this motel was the fact that the shuttle service was not consistent and dependable, and the van would only sit up to 10 people, max, at a time. Therefore, if you didn't "fit in" on the first shuttle (which is supposed to run every 30 minutes from the front of the motel) you had to wait for the next one. How dreadful, then, to see another van pass by us 30 minutes later already full of passengers from the hotel behind us (I believe the Comfort Inn, which it also serviced.) Many people standing there waiting with us (for sometimes up to an hour) were also very frustrated and aggravated. Twice we ended up calling a taxi after waiting up to an hour, and others were doing the same. I shared my frustration with the front desk receptionist lady on two occasions, and she did call the van driver, only to be told "the next one is on its way." That was definitely the pat answer. The "free shuttle service" is supposed to take guests to and from the Metro station and airport. On 3 afternoons, we waited through two "go rounds" because we were unable to all fit in the van due to the fact it holds only 10 guests. Therefore, you would have to wait for the next one, only to be told by other irate guests also waiting that "hey, we've been waiting an hour longer than you have, we are first in line. It was a mess. Summary= motel is clean, breakfast is good, shuttle is bad.

this hotel has a few features that are not satisfactory: room looked and was tired - from bedding to furniture to wallpaper/paint, to curtains to security. In addition, I did not feel secure, given it was a motel setting not a hotel. My room had a picture sized window that could have been broken into. The lock on door was not secure either.

This is a "tired" hotel that needs to be renovated. It was clean and the staff tried their hardest to please. But noise through the walls is beyond their control and is a construction issue. Management knows that the shuttle service cannot keep up with the needs of the guests but fails to do anything about it. We waited 1 hour at the airport for pickup and twice has 50 minute waits for the shuttle bus at the Metro stop. You'll spend a lot of your time waiting for the shuttle bus. There are no restaurants near the hotel, so you are very dependent on the shuttle service, which is unsatisfactory. Don't get me wrong, the staff is very nice, but they must get tired of hearing about the same complaints over and over again. We won't stay here again.

The room decord is good and is clean. The hotel structure has seved several hotel chains across the last 20 years. Therefore the structure of the building needs some updating, like the door frames, but is being well maintained. The county police often parks a patrol by the front desk which offers additional security thou the area is safe.

The hotel is somewhat outdated compared to other BW hotel chains. It was clean and at a good location if you don't want to be in the city. Restaurants were within a few miles. Breakfast was good and there was a nice selection of hot and cold items.

"Good price and a decent hotel"

We stayed here for 3 days. The price was good and the hotel was okay. So here's the good, the bad and the ugly. The good...the beds were very comfortable and the rooms were good sized. The breakfast was varied each day and the quality and quantity was very good. There were multiple staff members monitoring and caring for the breakfast area. The heating and cooling unit was quieter than most hotels. It didn't dry me out like some do. The room stayed a nice consistent temperature. Housekeeping did a good job of keeping our room nice. They were unobtrusive and professional. The bad...no microwave or fridge in our rooms, although I understand you can request a room that does have them. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time or when we called to make the reservation. They charge another $10 for these rooms We were in a room that faced the road. With the outside doors to each room, we could hear more noise. The ugly...The placement of the toilet paper holder is right next to the toilet seat. It is so close that you cannot sit on the toilet without having it press into your leg. This is the same placement in all the rooms. The flushing mechanism needs completely replaced. It works, but as you can see from the picture, it was really loose. Overall, the stay was good. The location is good and they provide a shuttle to the metro or airport every half hour. This proved very helpful in our stay. It is relatively close to both restaurants and shopping. If they fixed the bathroom problems and arrangement I would have given it more stars.

I had a flight complication and had to stay overnight unexpectedly, so I called the BW Pentagon for a shuttle. I was told to go to door 9 and wait. I could not find a door 9 as I was on the upper level. I called the hotel again and asked for a ride, but was told I couldn't be picked up anywhere but door 9. At no time was it told to me that it was the LOWER LEVEL for pickup. So I took a cab - the hotel was ok, aging, with exterior doors and oddly sized steps, but I got checked in and went to look for vending machines. Even after giving me change for them, I was not told that they were out of order (again, helpful information was withheld), so I was stuck with no food or drink for the night. The room was fine, but the driver dropped me off the next day right at my terminal door and NOT only at one of their three pre-determined spots I was told about the next night. Customer service could be improved. I would not recommend unless you ask VERY specific questions yourself.

I am sorry to hear that there were some communication issues with your shuttle pick-up. Our shuttle is only allowed, by the airport authority, to pick up guests a specified "hotel shuttle" stops. These are at Terminal A, and on the lower level of the main terminal at Doors 5 and 9. We are able to drop guests off on the departure level (upper level) at their preferred location. Paper thin walls, you hear everything. More of a motel set-up, cars parked right in front of guest rooms. No mini fridge. Close to Costco, malls, Arlington cemetery and downtown Washington DC. An okay stay if our car was not scratched in the lot without a note.

We took a family trip to Washington DC and stayed at the Best Western Pentagon, which was the only hotel we could find with 2 queen beds, hot breakfast, shuttle to metro stop, short metro ride to DC, and price less than $150. It met all those qualifications. First the bad points: The room was fairly clean but not spotless. The bathroom door needed a paint job. Some of the weatherstripping on the front door was loose The blankets were a bit skimpy. It was warm enough though since it wasn't very cold the nights we visited. The outlets were not located in convenient places. There was a nice power strip on the dresser, but not on the desk or next to the bed. So that wasn't very useful. Also I had wanted to plug my DVD player into the TV but could not because the TV was mounted flush against the wall. The rooms have outside entrances. The walls are fairly thin, so I heard our neighbors talking (or maybe their TV). The good points: Nice bed and pillows. I slept very well. Very nice hot breakfast. We stayed 4 nights and they had different variations every day. Eggs and bacon one day, breakfast burritos another day, egg, sausage and biscuit sandwiches another day. They also had make your own waffles, cereal, yogurt, fruit and pastries every day. The shuttle to the "Pentagon City" metro stop was appreciated. It runs from 6am-10pm, every 30 minutes. The only problem is the shuttle only holds about 8 people, so they had to take multiple trips to shuttle everyone. Good location and good price. 5 minute ride to Pentagon City Metro Station, and then 8 minute subway ride to the national mall (L'Enfant station).

I spent the night of 03/15. Dirty, cold and unpleasant bed sheets. The first thing I found in the morning was a HUGE cockroach in the shower and on top of that I developed a skin condition "escobiasis" caused by the uncleaned towels or cheap soaps. Never again. Please do not go there ever.

Given the sky-high cost of hotels in the Washington, DC area, this Best Western is a real find. It is very reasonably priced, the bed was extremely comfortable, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast was quite good. It is also right off the I-395 freeway and is just a few miles from Washington. This is a good alternative for visitors who don't need a five-star hotel and who don't want to spend $200 or $300 a night for a room.

I would recommend this hotel because of it's location, it's accessibility to the Metro, the airport and the price. The staff are very courteous, friendly and helpful. This hotel is also very easy to find and is an easy off and on to the freeway that goes right by it and is also not too far from the DC Metropolitan area. The hotel also has good amenities although it would be good if they had the small refrigerators in the rooms because it does get hot in the summer time.

I was surprised when we pulled up to see that it was a travel lodge style rather than a hotel. Aside from that our stay was fine. The upside of the hotel: - Great, friendly staff, big thumbs up. They were friendly, helpful and service oriented. - Shuttled in from the airport - Shuttle service to the Metro station - Large breakfast (again, friendly and efficient staff) - Clean room - Comfortable beds The downside: - Bathroom badly in need of upgrade - Bathtub liner was pulled away from the tub so standing in the tub was strange - shower drain plugged, by the end of the shower I was standing in water past my ankles - thin walls (I could hear conversations from our neighbors) All in all a good value for the money.

This is a typical travel inn. The room is spacious, well maintained and clean. The beds are very comfortable. The front counter staff was friendly and helpful. There is a regular shuttle service every 30 minutes which takes you to the Washington subway service. Not much in the way of other stores within walking distance. In summary, this is good value for the price.

Although the facility, especially the bath and ceiling was in need of repair and badly in need of updating, the room "worked". Nice water pressure, H/A had no problems though others in my party had noisy H/A units, clean, and comfortable bed, microwave and nice size refrigerator. I would stay here again. I have seen much worse! The bed comfort made up for all of it!

We booked the Best Western for 2 nights in the beginning of March and were positively surprised. As a group of 5 we were looking for cheap accommodation since we wouldn't be in the hotel very long usually. Kristopher (I think this was his name) greeted us friendly and checked us in our rooms quickly. Our rooms were big, comfortable and clean. Granted, the bathrooms do need a little updating (especially the wallpaper) all in all a good, comfortable, safe stay with good location. Tipp: Use an Uber to get back an forth. Was our cheapest bet :)

If you want to be near walkable places to eat, this is not the place. If you want a very comfortable bed, this is the place. Regarding the breakfast: many options (but not as many healthy ones as we would have liked), a nice large room, and very nice breakfast staff but TURN OFF THE DAMN TV's!

I chose this hotel because it had a shuttle and I would be using the metro system. The shuttle opportunities were great! Every thirty minutes to a metro station and the Reagan Airport. That was a huge plus. They have a delicious hot breakfast with a change every single day and the food is fresh and just really good. It was so nice to start off every day with a hot breakfast. The rooms were a great size, the beds comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful all the time. It was a totally hassle free week and I would stay again. I highly recommend it.

I booked 3 rooms for 2 night stay and then 1 night stay on my return trip. Roaches were found in all of the rooms we stayed( total of 6 rooms). Shower faucets did not work, Shower head control, did not work. rest room door did not close. I reported the door was fixed, but still not able to close all the way.

"A terrible disappointment"

The bathtub dripped non-stop. There was no cold water in the bathroom sink. WiFi did not work in the room. Worst of all, I was locked in my room for over a half hour trying to get my door open. The lock was broken and I had to call the front desk and wait another fifteen minutes waiting for maintenance to come, then open the door, then repair it so that it wouldn't happen again, all at 10:30 at night, waking my spouse and preventing sleep for an hour.

So I booked this hotel because of its convenience to the Regan Airport and because of the price. Things were bad from the start. When I arrived at the airport I call the hotel to request a shuttle service. 1 hour later still no shuttle despite being told it had left the hotel. Then finally told that the shuttle was still at the hotel. Manager told me to get a cab and that she would reimburse me when I got to the hotel and then REFUSED to when I arrive saying it wasn't hotel policy. Rooms were in poor state and smelled of cigarettes. Restaurant which was at the Comfort Suites was a joke. One person doing bar and serving. Took 30 mins to get a menu, then after another 20 mins I left as no one had bothered to take my order. I plan to write to David Kong CEO of Best Western Hotels to complain

The hotel is older but is very clean and had a Keurig in the room. Breakfast was hot and delicious. The front desk helped me find a cab at 3am and was constantly diligent and helpful. Bed was surprisingly comfy as well. No complains at all whatsoever!

I'm rating them 2 stars instead of 1.. because their continental breakfast is good plus shuttles going back and forth to airport and MetroRail. I'm disappointed because we should have a microwave and refrigerator but when we open our room tada! Nothing. We stayed for 2 night so our food got spoiled and we came from FL. I killed a big spider in our room.. yes a big one.

The property is obviously old, but so many flights were cancelled, we felt fortunate to find a room at all. I HATE outside entrances, but needed to be on the first floor as I couldn't haul my suitcase up the stairs. The room was surprisingly nice, clean, with enough towels, a great Keurig coffee maker, good shower, and very comfortable bedding. I was upset that I called the front desk 3x for a wake up call, as the "wakeup call" button on the phone didn't work, but no-one ever answered so had to rely on cellhone. Good thing I didn't have an emergency.

Granted, this was a night with many cancelled flights and people scrambling to find emergency lodgings so they may have resorted to selling rooms they normally leave vacant. Nevertheless, we needed to change from the first room we were assigned due to what smelled suspiciously like mould. Second room was better in that the air was breathable. Presumably the paper-thin walls are a feature of all rooms in that wing, however. The little coupling piece fell of the sink stopper unit the first time we pulled the rod to close the drain. I needed to crawl under the sink to repair it. I was previously unaware that some bathtubs were made with a hard semi-flexible plastic coating over a frame of who-knows-what. Found out when stepping on a certain part of it and finding that I could push it down a couple of inches with foot pressure. I was also unaware that some hotels try to save money by eliminating complimentary tissue boxes - but then again, one can always make do by blowing one's nose on the single-ply toilet paper. The front desk staff was courteous, however, and the promised cab to the airport did arrive at the appointed hour. Nevertheless, that was not enough to make us consider staying a second time.

Hotel staff was professional and friendly. Convenient location as 5 minutes from mall and 9 minutes from airport. Not many restaurants around area but has fridge, microwave in room so I suggest buying food from grocery or going to restaurant before going to room. Hotel is old and shows but everything is functional. Free buffet was good which included eggs, sausage, potatoes, yogurt and waffles.

"Good Quality, Security is Lacking"

I arrived very late for my overnight stay and left very early. The night clerk who checked me in was friendly enough and was quick to get me checked in and on my way. The morning clerk also was efficient and got me out the door in very little time. The staff was professional, the room was clean, and there was little noise that I heard from outside the room during the six and a half hours I spent there. Unfortunately, the hotel is actually a motel with exterior room doors and large windows facing the parking lot. Even with the curtains closed, I could see the parking lot from the bed and was beamed in the eye all night by a bright parking lot light. I was there on a Thursday night, and it was deserted except for three cars including mine. If you are concerned about security, definitely avoid this hotel. Also be aware that the free breakfast doesn't start until 6:30 a.m., so if you have an early flight you will probably miss it.

ok for an overnight stay. we could've done without the cockroach in the bathroom and the floor of tub felt like it was going to cave in. the hotel itself is set up weird. the shuttle service wasn't really great as there are very limited hours.

Perfect stay. An upgrade from the last time that I stayed here. The price and service improved. Location is perfect for the distances to DC center and downtown Alexandria and surrounding areas. We loved our stay here. The hotel shuttle was a five minute drive to the metro station. When we needed to get back we just called the hotel and the shuttle picked us up within minutes. The room was clean and spacious. It was quiet at night. Breakfast was standard- scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage, cereal, etc. Our only complaint was that the bed was a bit too soft for our tastes. Everything else was excellent.

Stayed here for a few nights before the Labor Day weekend. The place is older but they are trying to clean up and renovate some areas. Good: --Close to the Pentagon City Mall (Metro) --free shuttle service (can run late sometimes) --Complementary breakfast (buffet style); one of the highlights of this place --Clean rooms / dual sinks is a big plus --Keurig coffee maker in room. Needs improvement : --ice machines broke in one building --update / renovate tubs/showers Definitely a place to try if you're on a budget. The fridge and microwave costs extra.

We were happy with this hotel. Nice, large, clean room, very good breakfast and very good value for the Washington DC area. It should be considered that the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and the restaurant closed rather early - cant remember whether it was 9 or 10 pm. The hotel organises regular shuttle to the nearest metro stop but especially in the weekend it is worth to drive as the traffic is not that bad and free parking can be found easily.

This hotel is a great value for traveling to DC Area. If you want fancy, this place is not it, but if you want clean, comfortable, safe, quiet and convenient to DCA and the metro for meetings in DC, this is the place. Well maintained, professional courteous staff, convenient shuttle to DCA airport and Pentagon City metro station, and a great price compared to other DC area hotels. I have stayed here 3 times and had a great experience each time. I think this hotel is a great value and would recommend it for people looking to save money traveling to DC who are willing to take the metro to their meetings in DC. Not a lot of amenities on site and not much happening in immediate neighborhood, but great for me when I have wanted to save money on a business trip by staying a little out of DC itself and take the metro to my meetings.

"Good price for the room"

Stayed here for 1 night with my family. Room was comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Good price for being this close to downtown. Easy drive into DC. Location was a little loud/busy outside the room. Other than that, was great and I would stay here again.

"Older Property but the Price is Right!"

We stayed overnight at the Best Western. As others have pointed out, it is an older property. The beds and furniture have been updated but the bathrooms and sinks are very much "old school". No matter, it sufficed. It is not a high end property but neither are the prices. Plenty of water pressure, hot water and the beds were very comfortable! We needed to set our heater (old style) at a higher set point to keep the room warm enough for us. Keep that in mind...probably due to being older styles. There is not a restaurant onsite even though the property information binder in the room said there was. It is next door at the Comfort Inn...and skip it. Service was fantastic but the food wasn't worth it. The front office at the Best Western both at check in and check out were fantastic. Very friendly, very accommodating and very professional! We were less than 7 minutes from the airport which was a big plus! Others spoke of the location being close to many things and they are correct. The pricing for this property was well below what others were charging, even across the street. If you don't need chocolates on your pillow, or a fridge in the room then give the Best Western a try.

"Convenience"

This hotel is great with being a stones throw to closest highway to DC. Free shuttle to Metro station every 1/2 hour, free wifi, free parking, and free breakfast. (which was very good and a great selection!) Keep in mind it is like a Motel that has some updates.

"Mid-level hotel for a fantastic price!"

From first arrival to checkout, we were quite impressed with this location. Check-in was efficient and fast, complete with a free room upgrade in exchange for an easy sign-up for the rewards program. Staff were all courteous and professional, as well as congenial and offering plenty of smiles. The beds were better than I expected, and the amenities were above standards. The free hot breakfast started our day off right and rounded out our stay like a cherry on top of a favorite sundae. Just the right touch. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the D.C. area who is need of an affordable yet quality option.

"Marine Corps Marathon Trip"

I had a good stay. The room was always clean and staff were courteous. My only peeve was with how my noise complaint was handled. Other than that I had a nice stay. Location was good as it was not far from the airport or the metro stations I used.

"Great airport shuttle and park & fly"

Great deal to stay, park your car for up to 14 days and take the shuttle to the airport. Breakfast was very nice. The only problem with this hotel is the noise. Someone was watching TV and we didn't sleep all night. You can hear everything from the other rooms.

"1~2 Star Motel - Best Western Pentagon"

I would not consider this a hotel. This used to be motel and it was renamed. I have stayed at many different Best Westerns on 3 different continents and this turned me off from this brand. The lobby and breakfast were okay. Rooms all faced the parking lot or street, to me that's a motel. Our room smelled musty. The bathroom door did not close all the way and it looked like water damage on it and the walls. My wife was too grossed out to take a shower. The TV only showed analog channels. The beds were clean, but one of the beds concaved toward the middle and I could not get a good night sleep.

"Cheap but dirty"

Adequate accommodations at a low price. This was my last stop on a one week business trip. The price of the room was better than those surrounding it. Booked through Hotels.com. Had to clean the toilet upon my arrival and pulled garbage from under the bed. Seems that room cleanliness is not their highest priority. Sound proofing was poor so the room was noisy as well. Bed was comfortable and an average breakfast was offered.

"Old School layout, but a great deal"

This is consistently one of the cheapest hotels you can stay at in the area, it has a park and fly rate which is way cheaper then paying to park at the airport or other hotels and the check in is fast, breakfast is free and the staff have always been very courteous. This hotel has an outdoor pool (like a motel pool) and the place is basically like an old hotel where you pull up and park your car right outside your room. If you're on a budget and need a place to crash between planes this is a perfectly fine place.

Hotel very close to Washington DC where we had many events planned. The hotel was clean inside and out. Parking was good. Our handicapped room was large and had direct entry from the parking space. The beds were comfortable. The breakfasts were especially good and served by cheery staff. Laundry is on second floor with only stair access. 2 of 3 washers broken.

"Aged Hotel but a great place to stay near Washington DC"

This Best Western is in dire need of updating. Rooms are showing their age - out dated carpet, curtains, and bedspreads, wallpaper in bathroom peeling - hair dryer in the bathroom, plug in sink area - hair dryer mount fell off the wall and not repaired while we were there. But rooms and bathrooms are clean. Not a long term hotel. Not very tech savvy - some plugs in the room did not carry enough voltage to charge phones, pads or computer without being warned that 'charging will take longer due to low voltage' Breakfast in the conference room, lots of seating...Choices are the same as any other breakfast in any other hotel. Outside pool closed for the season, needs to be open later due to weather. Staff very friendly and helpful. Prices in the Gift Shop are high - Candy is dated...Chocolate bar was turning white.

"Don't Hesitate - Just Book It!"

Great value and still with all the extras! Free parking. Free breakfast. Free shuttle to the Metro. The staff at this BW were fantastic; straight up professional and cheerful. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, large selection for breakfast (white tablecloths - who does that?), and delicious hot coffee available all day long. I will definitely book this BW again when I return to D.C.

"Woman Traveling Alone"

As a woman traveling alone - your front desk clerk put me in a room on the second floor in the middle of a dark outside walkway. He stated that he did not have any rooms on the first floor. I entered my room and found that the safe box locking mechanism was broken. Since I would be staying two nights, I needed the safe to work. I went back to the front desk to ask for another room and he again told me that he did not have any rooms available on the first floor. I asked him if he could please check and that I did not feel safe on the second floor. Somehow he did find a room on the first floor. After my persistence. Come to find out you have a whole building with numerous first floor rooms available. I know this by looking at the parking lot and no one was staying in those rooms. Now in my first floor room ~ the deadbolt would only latch if you slammed the door with you body to get the bolt to latch. I was already upset with everything else, I kept the room he gave me. Why would he tell me you had no first floor rooms available? You should keep your guests safety in mind, other than just trying to fill up on set of rooms in one building. I was not a happy camper to say the least.

This Best Western is actually a motel-type structure, with several 2 story buildings. The room we had was large, and clean, but a little musty when we first arrived. However, it had a very comfortable bed and pillows. It was very close to Washington, D.C., and was actually chosen for that reason. Breakfast was good, and was in a large area. Well replenished. Plenty of safe free parking. Only about a 10 minute ride to some of the city's restaurants. Would stay here again.

We found the hotel very clean. Very helpful staff. We loved the breakfast. Will use Best Western where ever we stay in the future. We found the shuttle to and from airport and to the tram very convenient and did not have to wait more than 10 minutes to have transportation every day,

Nice place to stay, breakfast bar not quite as good as some other Best Westerns I've stayed at. Quiet, water pipes to room upstairs were very noisy, but not in use that much. I'd stay there again. but would choose an upstairs room.

This hotel is a block off the freeway with easy access to the entire DC area. The rooms are old but clean. They have ample room inside, but are not spacious. The breakfast is wonderful, with lots of hot choices which vary everyday. The staff can provide you with maps to various locations. The price is less because it is in Arlington instead of DC, but it is just over the bridge, with free parking and easy access to the freeway, it makes it very convenient.

"No sleep for you"

This hotel is nothing special but it could be at least functional. The main obstacle is that sound is easily transmitted between rooms. Even the TV in a neighbouring room at normal volume can be heard quite clearly. I'm writing this at 2am because I can't get to sleep and the night desk can't seem to do anything about my noisy neighbours (who also tried to access my room via the interleading door at 1am) except offer to move my room. Don't book here if you want to be guaranteed a decent night's sleep: it's a lottery depending who you get next door.

Room had everything we needed. Breakfast very good selection, a step above most. Staff helpful. We used the shuttle several times a day. Picked up and returned to airport. Used laundry room twice. Gift shop handy.

This Best Western is very great. Breakfast was very good with the usual foods. It has nearby restaurants that one could walk to, although we had a rental car. The bed was super comfortable for us. The room was spacious for the DC area. The only drawback would be not enough plug-ins for electronics so we had to unplug some lights but it was not really a major inconvenience. The hotel should provide some plug strips for electronic charging. We did have some trouble with our door lock and key, which could not be fixed. The staff was very attentive and did move us to another room. The wifi worked great and was fast. We did not use the pool but it looked very clean when we passed by. We took the shuttle to DC one day and the shuttle ran on time to the Pentagon City Metro stop, which made it easy to catch a hop on hop off tour bus once we got into DC. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Great Location"

Great Location to base out off if you are going to visit DC. They offer great shuttle service to the Metro There and back with service every 30 minutes. We found that to be very valueable in connecting to DC and very Helpful. There also is a Tour bus service which comes to the Location every Morning.That to us is the only way to tour DC. And with the bus coming to the parking lot makes it even better.There is not a restuarant at this location however there is one next door in another motel.It has limited hours so be aware of that. However it was very good. This location is nor too far from other restuarant in the area and the interstate is very close by. When I come back to DC I will be staying Here....
