    « Good Value »

If you are passing buy Årjäng or visiting the area then Best Western Årjäng is a good choise. The hotel is quiet and in located Årjäng just by the E18. The rooms are simple and clean and usually have afforable rates. The hotel offers a regular hotel buffe and guests have access to a gym on site. There is also a bowling hall on the hotel premises.

    « Excellent value »

We stopped here on the way from Stockholm to Bergen, and it was everything a couple of jet-lagged travelers could hope for - clean, modern, and above all, quiet. No road noise. Nice thick curtains for blocking out the midnight sun, too. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast, friendly staff. Rooms are small, but no more so than other budget european hotels. Would stay here again on the way back.

    « A gem of a family friendly hotel »

We found this hotel on and our GPS. We didn't take the correct entrance and had to circle the hotel, to find it. At first I wasn't sure what to make of it. It has a huge Troll outside, which is an outdoor theater, complete with play area & toilets. It made me smile. Next, inside, we found a friendly staff member, who helped us check in and answered all of our questions, including where to eat, because the hotel restaurant was not open on Sunday. He recommended a place within walking distance & it was very good food, at a very good price. I might add that we had been driving for 10 hours. We had two double rooms, which were clean, neat & quiet. We needed some exercise and to our delight, we found a bowling hall in the lobby, INSIDE the hotel...what more could you ask for?.... an indoor pool and Fitness center on the same level! Wow. We rented shoes and had a great time at bowling until 9pm, when it closes. (It's a quiet hotel) You can take the lift, or the spiral stairs. Each floor has a conference room, or a quiet gathering area for visiting or reading...a nice touch. This would be a great place for a family reunion, team building, get-away-etc. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, with or without kids. Excellent service, quiet & comfortable.

« Three weeks in Europe -- our thoughts on the hotels -- Arjang, Sweden »

Our family history trip through Europe by rail and bus required us to visit places away from some of the larger cities. This hotel was a ten minute walk up a slight hill from the bus station. It is the only hotel, but even if it was not, we would stay there again. The room was clean, quiet and modern. We were surprised that it had a bowling alley, but we were not bothered by any noise. We arrived on a Sunday and we had only allowed for a one night stay. The hotel's restaurant was not open, but we found a nice pizza place a short walk from the hotel. We had hoped to take a taxi to a nearby museum in the morning before our bus left. The town's taxis were busy taking children to school. The desk clerk volunteered to take us to the museum. He got someone to cover the desk. We arrived at the museum and he said he would come back for us before it was time to get on our bus. This was just one example of people going out of their way to help us during our trip. The hotel's breakfast was simple Swedish breakfast that filled us up. We were pleased with our stay.

    « Nice hotel along E18 road »

This hotel is the only one in Årjæng with it's own bowling hall. The hotel is also connected with a public swimminghall. The rooms are quite standard with lcd TV's and a minibar. The staff is welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is ok, nothing more, nothing less. All in all if you are in the area there isn't much of a option regarding hotels.

    « Overpriced transit hotel to/from Norway »

The only good thing about this place is the location if you need an overnight stay transitting between Sweden and Norway. Otherwise stay well clear of this place! It is a simple chain hotel but has quite a number of downsides and traps. The only good thing was the breakfast buffet...quite good choice. No staff or service though. When arriving I had to wait for aroudn 5 minutes before anyone turned up at the was 5 pm..... The hotel is right beside the highway if you get a room on that side you can hear the traffik clearly. Beware that there is a bowling alley on the groundfloor. I first got a room on floor 3 at the end of the building (long way from elivator as well as over the motors at the end of the bowling alley) and still could here the bowling engines. The room smelled sweaty. After complaining I got a room on 4th floor, closer to elevators (away from end of bowling alleys) and facing the yard. Much better!! But the place is totally overprices (1300 SEK). It is the only better standard hotel around the border and can therefore abuse it´s monopoly position. It is worth around 800-990 SEK. Not more. Stay away if you can.

    « Nice hotel »

This was a really nice hotel. We had a nice room, both the room and the bathroom were very clean. It had a fantastic shower too. The only slight let down was breakfast, which running out of cereal, napkins etc when we got there at 7am. Would I stay there again... yes!
