    « Very Nice Hotel »

The rooms are modern and clean. The indoor play area has a large saltwater pool and a hot tub. Foosball and billiards are also available. The hot breakfast is pretty good but the bacon was microwaved so I took the sausage patties. The property is about a mile off of the interstate highway but is easy to find. More cable TV stations are available than in most hotels (over 60) and Free On Demand is available, too. If you have trouble with stairs this might not be for you. The lobby is sunken about three steps and there is no elevator for this two story property. Fireproof construction and quiet rooms.

« Great Value! Nice rooms! »

Very pleasantly surprised at the modern, clean, spacious rooms. If you don't want to be by the pool (which is clean and large) there's a whole wing in the the back of the hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

« Home away from home »

The best place to stay when visiting Appleton. All my stay and I have never experienced a problem. Always clean and well appointed. The breakfast are the best you could look for. The staff is over the top for friendly and helpful, doing all possible to make your stay perfect. Topping it off is the atrium, a superbly designed place to swim, soak n the hot tub, play pool or other game, or just lounge and relax. An awesome place for the little ones too..........guaranteed quality stay!

« Will not be staying here again. »

We recently stayed at this hotel while we were in town for a family wedding. We were not very happy with this stay at all. One of the beds in our room closest to the door was horrendous! It is SUPER squeaky. It literally woke all 4 of us up any time my husband rolled over in his sleep because it was so loud and obnoxious. It needs to be replaced. In addition to that, a pair of earrings from a guest before us were left up by the coffee pot. I get that things are missed by the housekeeping staff sometimes but it was pretty gross to see that right near the drinking cups. The TV in our room didn't work either. My kids were excited for the indoor pool and that area of the hotel I will say was the nicest part by far. It was clean and inviting and we loved the "garden" feel of it. However.. 3 of the 4 (?) Video games in the pool area were out of order during our stay!!! The vending machine had an out of order sign on it too. Very frustrating that so many things weren't working. Breakfast was subpar as well. I am not one to waste food, but the biscuits were so dry that we took one bite and ended up throwing them away. My cousin peeled into an orange that had mold in it and ended up throwing that out too. As if all of that wasn't bad enough, during our stay we were visiting out by the pool when we saw 2 police officers arrive and go knock on one of the guest rooms near the pool. They did not have weapons drawn, but were standing on each side of the door like they were ready to use them if they needed to. We promptly all scattered and went back to our rooms for fear of getting in the middle of this confrontation. My cousin actually went up to the front desk and asked " There are 2 cops out by the pool trying to get someone to come out of their room. Should we be worried?" and the front desk clerk literally said "Well they aren't looking for you, so no. There is no reason for you to be worried." Are you kidding me?!?! ENOUGH SAID. Unfortunately, there is no chance of us ever staying here again.

    « Great Value! »

We took a short spring break to Appleton. (Honolulu it's not - but whatever). We were so pleasantly surprised by this hotel! First of all the pool atrium is fantastic and warm and surrounded by indoor trees, so it actually felt like a little get-away. The rooms were nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. There was some jackhammer construction going on in near the pool while we were there, but to their credit, they waited until Monday at 10:30 to start (and it's gotta get done so that's as good of a time as any). The hotel is also connected to a great burger joint - Mad Apple where we ate Mac and Cheese burgers, and Mexican street corn. Great place to park your family for a few nights.

    « Overall, Great Place »

My boyfriend and I had been traveling and touring apartments all day. After issues checking into our originally booked hotel, we chose to come over to the Best Western. I am glad we did! Even thought the building was dated, the room was very clean, everything smelled fresh and there were lots of fluffy towels! Unfortunately, we had some very upset children in the room next to us. And since I had to work the next day, I went down to the desk to ask if we could switch rooms. There were 2 of the nicest young men down at the front desk. Without hesitation they got our room switched so we could get a good nights sleep. Back at home, I work the front desk at a 4 star hotel, it is great to see that the same type of service is expected from staff at this Best Western. Oh, and the hot breakfast was just as great as the service!

    « Overnight get away »

Room was clean. Some outlets were not working. We were in second floor towards the back. Not too far from pool. Mad Apple resteraunt attached and good food. Nice am breakfast. Hotel needs some updating but nice stay for what we paid

    « Family Getaway »

Very nice getaway with family and relatives, hotel was clean, rooms where clean, breakfast was great, lots of hot food, eggs, bacon, ect. price was good, friendly staff, good location. Pool and hot tub were clean as well. Plenty of towels,

    « Great stay! »

The hotel was very clean. I really enjoyed the salt water hot tub and swimming pool. They have an old arcade machine that you can play astroids and space invaders on in the Atrium where the pool is. The Atrium is really nice! Well kept hotel! Free full breakfast will gluten free options! Will be back for many stays!

    « Nice Hotel »

Mediocre front desk service, excellent house keeping staff. The hotel was very nice and located in a convenient area for our vacation. The salt water pool was nice with no chlorine smell. Only issue was our daughters sensitive skin. Didn't stop her from swimming for hours though. Will definitely stay there again but will confirm our reservation well before we go.

« BW Appleton Great Stay »

Clean, quiet, request for location of room met and when we checked in Justin, front desk staff, was excellent and very helpful. Our TV wasn't working when we got into the room and Justin came to the room quickly and fixed the problem. Great service by Justin.

    « Excellent »

Have stayed here many times and the staff and accommodations are always top shelf. Pool and other amenities are always available and clean too! We will be back again very soon and look forward to seeing familiar faces!

« Lovely motel, but got little sleep due to the noise :( »

Check in staff was great. Had fresh fruit in a basket upon arrival (and coffee for those who would like it). We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room. (#121). We were surprised to get a pool side room, right outside the hot tub, but we came to regret it. We were ready for bed by 10 pm, but the pool/hot tub is open until 10:30. At 10:40 pm, guests were still in the pool, along with the accompanying noise with folks throwing a football back and forth. There's a 1/2 inch gap under the door, so the noise seems like it's right IN your room. Finally at 11:15pm the pool area quieted down, and families returned to their rooms. On both sides of us there were families with small children. We were in a room with a pass thru door. Of course, it was locked, but 'someone' kept turning the handle. I'm sure it was just a child playing with the handle, but it was enough to keep me awake. Once the kids quieted down, the adults in the room turned on the TV, and it stayed on until 1:30 am. I could hear their TV and their conversation about the show. Again, the pass thru door let all kinds of noise thru. I slept from 2:30-6:30 when again, people were up and walking/talking in the hallway, just 5 feet from my bed. Lesson learned, NEVER accept a poolside room again. Ask for a quite area. Breakfast had a very nice selection. FRESH fruit, yogurt, eggs, bisquits and gravy, cold cereal, etc. They also had a nice pot of 'real' cooked oatmeal with several toppings. However, the oatmeal was barely luke warm, and the styrofoam bowls aren't microwave safe. My husband had the bisquits and gravy and he said they, too, were only luke warm. The motel was probably only 1/3 occupied (Just a guess) on this Wed. evening. My recommendation would be to place folks in every other room so they aren't disturbed by the neighbor's, and ensure the hot food stays hot. Address those issues and you'll provide a first rate experience.

« nice hotel, good deal »

Staff friendly and helpful. Room amenities very nice - comfortable, clean, and everything worked. Financially a good deal. Nice continental breakfast. Pool area looked good but I didn't use that or the hotel gym. Was very close to the Mall, Starbucks, and Anytime Fitness.

« Excellent hotel with bargain rates and good/fun restaurant »

I have been staying at this property under various ownerships since the late 19702 when it was the Midway Motor Lodge with Fuzzy Thurston's Left Guard Bar & Grill - the happening place to go in Appleton! It has gone through several changes in ownership and been refurbished by the new owners to become part of the Best Western community. The rooms are well maintained and comfortable. The indoor pool and fitness facility are excellent! The complimentary breakfast and wireless high speed internet are great. The adjacent and connected Mad Apple Bar & Grill has good food and a selection of craft beers. Staff personnel are friendly and professional. In summary, I recommend the Best Western Appleton Inn as an excellent and affordable place to stay when travels bring you to the Fox Valley.

« Much better than expected »

This is an older hotel, I didn't know that it has been recently updated. It's very nice. My room had a fridge and microwave. Bathroom was nice, bed and pillows very comfortable. There is a very nice sportsbar/restaurant/pool hall connected. Great menu, food and service were great. I will definitely be back.

« Great place to stay - Appleton »

Whenever I am in the Appleton area and need a place to stay, the Best Western is my "go to" place! From the time I check in to the time I check out, it is a 5-star experience! The check-in is always efficiently done, the rooms inviting and all amenities listed are fulfilled. Sleep is great and breakfast is even greater!

    « Great value »

Spacious rooms and price was right. Now with an operating bar and restaurant next door this place is a real gem. Pool area is awesome. Great to just hang out at. Breakfast buffet is pretty decent. Close to mall and restaurants.

    « Monday night game »

We stayed here for the Monday night football game. The room was really nice, lots of towels and 2 nice big beds. The breakfast was really awesome, and the pool is nice an clean. It took us 45 min to the Green Bay stadium. I can definitely recommend this hotel.

« Definitely recommend this hotel! »

Loved the salt water pool & spa area. Water is the pool was a very comfortable temperature & spa very clean & relaxing. Room was clean & comfortable. Staff very polite & accomodating. We will stay here whenever we are in the area.

« Best Western Appleton Inn, Appleton, WI »

Great value for the rate, but getting long-in-the-tooth and needing a renovation. Location and price were great for visiting downtown Appleton for a business conference. VERY poor quality King mattress, but otherwise, all amenities were functioning and generally clean and what you'd expect in this price range. Note: We saw a few B&B reviews on this property and it is not a B&B...just an older property with a swimming pool down for repairs.

« Clean, Affordable and a Lot to Offer! »

Older motel with renovations made makes this a great, affordable place to stay. Rooms are VERY clean and the facility has an amazing pool area with lots of sitting space for people to gather. Large pool, hot tub, foosball table, pool table, and video games. The staff is extremely nice and works to please. Has a huge bar attached with a kitchen soon to open. Great location. Close to the mall and to downtown. I'd definitely stay again.

    « This place ROCKS! »

My daughter and I stayed here the weekend we came up for a Green Bay Packer game. This place is great! The room was spacious and very clean. We were poolside which helped a lot. The covered pool area has many tables and chairs so there is no competition among guests for places to sit and relax. The breakfast will certainly meet your needs. I always like the waffle opportunity. As usual, there is cereal, bagels, juices, fruits, bacon, sausage, etc. On Sunday morning, there was also a table with 12-15 dozen cake donuts. Booyah! This location is only 26 miles from Lambeau Field so we easily got to the game. I will definitely stay here again.

    « Served Our Purpose »

My wife and I stayed here using a Best Western Rewards Night prior to attending a Green Bay Packer game. This is an older hotel and shows its age in places but is kept clean. It's spread out with three different sections. Our room was in the section farthest from the lobby. The bed was comfortable and the area was quiet. It is conveniently located close to a number of restaurants and not far from the freeway or the downtown. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately we were not able to partake of the provided breakfast as we had to be in Green Bay early the next morning for an appointment. We did hear the breakfast was very good from people who had already been staying there. The pool area looked very inviting although we didn't have time to use it. We'd consider staying here again if in the area.

« Great stay on Packers game weekend »

We booked 2 rooms for a family trip to a game at Lambeau Field... Go Pack Go!! This is the perfect hotel for game attendees... an easy 30 minute drive to Green Bay. The hotel is older, but well kept. It has a very spacious pool atrium with trees and lots of tables, as well as foosball and other games that are great for family activities. The hot tub was actually hot... loved it! Breakfast was great... LOTS of choices... waffles, french toast, eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, fresh fruit cocktail, and REAL (not instant) oatmeal with toppings. Great local donuts completed the array of breads & pastries. We had a great family experience.

    « Stay far away »

If you are into sharing your space with the apartment building behind this place is for you. Drug dealers rooms and construction workers all over. People with 10 kids staying in one room... continental breakfast asks for tips. Beer pong in the arcade area! Your key card will quit working and the staff will enter your room when you are gone. Rooms were clean though. Never will i bring my family here again!

« Good Place for the price »

We found this Best Western Hotel a good value for the money. Beautiful atrium with salt water pool. The location was perfect for the places we planned to visit in the Appleton / Fox River region. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

« Great place to stay »

We checked in staff weren't friendly and very accommodating my boyfriend had set up with the front desk to deliver flowers to our room because he was proposing to me. What a ware needful experience never will forget it

    « Excellent »

Love my Best Western Motels. The staff was really helpful on answering all questions. The receptionist knew how our gadgets worked in the room to aide when we couldn't work a appliance. They were extremely friendly to my family. I will be glad to stay again in the near future.

    « Nicely located Hotel »

This is very nice hotel, Great location, Great staff ,newly remodeled rooms. the hotel has it's own restaurant and lounge and it is very close to several other restaurants. You wont be disappointed. This was my first say at this hotel and I look forward to coming back again.

    « Nice little hotel! »

Great location, great price. Nice staff, great pool area. We enjoyed our stay. We didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on that. Close to Green Bay so we were able to go see Lambeau field. Plenty of food nearby as well.

« Good place to crash for an overnight. »

ok free breakfast buffet and they had a very friendly staff. they honored my frequent stayer's voucher. Though in the middle of a current road construction zone, the place is well located and easy to find just off of Hwy 41. We'll stay there again.

    « great time »

nice place for family and friends to meet, visit and stay. Safe, clean, quiet and friendly. Nice touch with fresh cookie platter to greet you. Friendly and helpful staff. Will come again and bring all the relatives.

« Always quiet with a wonderful breakfast selection! »

Had a restful night sleep, the breakfast selection is always diverse and pleases both myself and my two picky boys. Liked the salt water pool and hot tub, and the location of the fitness center. Great place to stay!

« dirty, dark, and dingy »

that about says it all. upon arrival, room wasn't cleaned. clerk was very good about getting me a new room (but it was a double, not a king). just an overal dark and dingy feeling in hallways and room

    « Stay at Appleton »

I always enjoy staying at the BestWestern fox valley inn. Staff is great good breakfast good selection.nice rooms and great truck parking.very nice pool and hot tub. They just opened up a new pub next door to hotel.

    « bad experience »

two employees were awesome head house keeper and a front desk male other than that i really didn't care for the hotel the breakfast was ok pool area was clean i dont think i would stay there again need attached restaurant open to serve food

    « Great staff »

This hotel has always been one of my favorite places to stay while in Appleton, Wi. Great pool and very friendly staff. Great comfortible beds that wrap you up and put you to sleep! Great location and plenty of things to do nearby. I'll be back again and again.

    « Average hotel »

If you are a senior or cannot climb stairs easily, be aware this hotel does not have an elevator. It does have a nice coin operator washer/dryer and does offer an inside salt pool. Nice pool area with many tables.

    « Good Family Place »

Best pool facility I've seen at a BW. Covered, so it's year around. They provide towels and adequate seating. Hotel provided breakfast is as good as I've seen for this type of hotel. Facility could use some updates as seems about 30 years behind the times. I'd stay again, particularly if traveling with children

    « Best western »

The service was great from the night shift employees. However the room smelled from the outdated rugs inside the room. There were holes inside of the door that were patched. The room was outdated. The beds felt like sleeping on a rock bed it was horrible. The bedsheets looked like a murder room with the blood looking sheets. Breakfast was ok because it was free.

« One of the best, just off the road »

Stayed 4 nights for Oshkosh air show 2017, absolutely great hotel. Booked 51 weeks in advance. 20 mins up the road, easy drive, no problem getting into show each day. Comfortable rooms, and the pool is great after a sticky day travelling or visiting the show, Good breakfast included in rate from 7 , brought forward to 6.30, so we could get away in good time. Cookies and coffee in lobby. Helpful staff, this is where you need to stay. Book at least 11 months in advance for Oshkosh 18 !

« Staying off location of conference »

Had to find a place off location because the Paper Valley was full. Best western was available at a reduced price. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Only problem was trying to get there. Hotel is located on a side road next tot college avenue and Google, map quest, ect does not know that if you turn here you can not get access to the road and have to get to hotel from back street.

« Excellent Hotel with Outstanding Amenities »

The Appleton, WI Best Western is a great destination for family or business. The salt water pool was a lot of fun as well as the large hot tub. I would recommend staying here but request a room away from the pool is you like quiet during the day.

    « Decent »

A very nice staff, and surprisingly comfortable bed. the modest-sized rooms would have more room in them if the hotel didn't feel compelled to out one of everything in them (Bed, two side tables, another table and chairs, etc.) I had a poolside room and was concerned the noise would disturb me, but it didn't. I wish they had an airport shuttle. I was going to book again but there was no way for me to get to the hotel from the airport.

    « Visit »

By the pool is really nice and the free breakfast was more than cold stuff. The place had a musty smell and the room stayed humid. It seemed clean. The young man at the counter was friendly. It was much better than a really cheap motel. The price fit.

« Not bad for one night »

We recently stayed at the Best Western Appleton Inn for one night after the Billy Joel concert at Lambeau. Upon arrival, we could tell that this was an older hotel, along the lines of the old Best Western activity domes of the 80's and 90's, which is exactly what this hotel is. If you have troubles with stairs, request a first floor room as this hotel does not have an elevator. There are about 15 steps up to the 2nd floor. Our room was a very large king room that overlooked the pool. Upon my standard overview of the room checking for unwanted possible hitchhikers (of which there were none), the cleanliness showed as lacking, both on the bed and in the bathroom. One towel was a little dirty, so we set that one aside. There were plenty of towels provided, so this wasn't a terrible inconvenience. As stated previously, the room was very large and included a refrigerator and microwave. The bed was a little firm for my liking, but it did the job. There were very few outlets in the room and those that were accessible the outlet seemed loose in the wall and and the plug, when plugged in, was loose. It wasn't easy keeping chargers plugged in. The bathroom was decent sized, but the shower was horrible. Upon turning on the water, you would have thought that the pressure was going to be awesome, but when switched to the shower head, it was far from powerful on any of the settings. The door to the room had to be either pushed or pulled closed whenever we left or entered the room to ensure it was closed and latched. We did not take advantage of the saltwater pool, but it did seem very nice. There were a couple of pool tables as well as a few arcade games and a foosball table in the dome. Breakfast was standard hotel continental breakfast fare, but very good with a wide array of options. Something I hadn't seen before was pre-made french toast that just needed to be fed through the conveyor toaster. Overall, it was a decent night after an awesome concert. Cleanliness aside, I may consider staying here again.

« After concert in Green Bay »

I have stayed at a number of Best Western hotels across the country. This was the first with a smell. I am not sure what caused it, maybe the salt water pool. The pool itself seemed fine, until you put googles on and saw all the stuff floating in the water. Not sure what kind of filter system or cleaning process was in place, but it did not seem to be working. Breakfast wasn't too bad, but there was nothing to set it aside from any other hotel. It was just average.

    « Enjoyed our stay »

I had a group of four stay after a concert that was in Green Bay. The hotel was clean, beds were comfortable. Our room overlooked the pool, which is a saltwater pool, so there was no aroma of chlorine. We didn't have time to use the pool, though it looked very inviting. The complimentary breakfast was good, hot food, as well as cold food to choose from. I would stay there again if I was up that way. The location was good, with the mall not being far away, and enough chain restaurants around if needed.

    « Adequate »

The Best Western Appleton Inn is a rather tired facility. The woman who checked us in was gracious and helpful. The building appears to be a 1960's Holiday Holidome. Remember those? There were rooms completely surrounding a nice looking swimming pool with electronic games and other entertainment for kids. We stayed in room 133, a single king away from the pool. The room was clean, the bed was really not very good at all. Our TV was good. The wifi was unusable. Something about the network. Just kind of a tired hotel in a declining neighborhood of quite a number of empty store fronts. There was a Panera Bread Store across the street so we had good coffee in the morning. We had to leave early so we skipped the hotel breakfast. The hotel appeared to be less than 50% rented. We almost canceled our reservation and went elsewhere. We probably won't be back.

« The place to stay in Appleton area »

For a very good place to stay in Appleton, Wisconson the Bestwestern will beat the rest hands down! The room is hugh compared to most hotels that I've stayed at. The hot breakfast was great. Overall I would rate this hotel a 10.

« Best Western, Appleton, WI »

my overall stay was good, the staff was friendly and helpful but the TV in my room did not work properly. I am not a techie person so I called the front desk and a maintenance person came and finally got it to work but I could not turn it off at the end of the day so I went to sleep with it on and it was still on in the morning. My wife was not with me, she might have figured out what to do to turn it off. I was tired and did not call the front desk again. I did not really care for the bed, it was not the most comfortable bed I have slept in.

    « Great hotel »

Great price, Great pool area salt water pool 8feet deep plenty of tables and chairs and towles, the staff went out of there way to help us, great location right off the interstate . everything was awesome breakfast

« great place to stay »

mike and tanner were great. breakfast was amazing. i recommend this hotel to anyone that reads this. this place is a great place to bring your family. the pool area was so awesome, i thought the trees were fake until i asked the front desk if they were or not.

    « Girl time »

Very nice clean rooms all the staff we encountered where extremely nice and helpful the pool area was very well kept absolutely loved the salt water pool! Also liked that we were close to shopping and places to eat.

    « Won't be returning! »

No elevator. Check-in guy told me "there's a luggage cart at the top of the stairs." I had one large bag and am a petite woman, so carrying the bag up the stairs was less than pleasant. I had to yell "Hello?" at the time of check-out to have someone come out of the back room. Room smelled. Run-down hotel. No breakfast available at the time I left.

    « Nice Pool »

We particularly enjoyed the pool. The rooms and breakfast were typical. It's in a convenient location for restaurants and shopping. We had some issues with our key and one of the housekeeping staff came to our rescue, letting us in and going and getting new keys for us since we had to get ready for our son's wedding ASAP.

« Staff went out of their way to be helpful »

Desk Clerks went out of their way to give us hints about schools and housing as we are relocating. The pool and hot tub were extremely clean. Nice bright environment, reasonable price. Allowed us late check out.

    « Excellent stay »

Nice rooms. Good extended rate and fabulous breakfast. This hotel has a great location to Interstate and a lot of good eating places. Staff friendly and accomidating. Has a great spa and beautiful swimming pool. Highly recomend it to others.

    « Family fun! »

Met relatives here for a family celebration of a niece's Birthday. Everything was fabulous. Poolside room, saltwater pool, great staff, everything was clean! Fabulous breakfast!! Highly recommend staying here.

The Best Western has the most caring staff, greatest hospitality and a dynamic salt water pool...great for business and pleasure....the coffee is always is treated exceptionally well, breakfast is on time and staff are eager to accommodate you.

« Place was awesome, clean, and friendly. I stayed with my fiancé and got a hot tub room was totally worth the price i pai »

I intend to recommend this hotel to everyone that visits the area. This hotel is in a great location, close to the local mall and grocery store. There pool the perfect temp. And they even have an arcade which is dope.

« Best Bargain in town »

Now that we've found this motel we always stay here. The room selection (quiet, by the pool, etc.) is excellent. The management is very helpful and friendly. The quality and selection at the breakfast is impressive. There is something for everyone from the simple to the healthy to the ordinary.

    « Some Issues »

Punctuality was poor. Breakfast had a late start all three mornings we were there. Pool was not opened on time. Also, pool area was dirty the entire weekend including water that could have been mopped and debris from party's and food along with tree debris. My two year old slipped on the left over water from the night before in the pool area and could not swim the rest of the day from a sore elbow and bump on her head. Staff was friendly enough. Although nobody was allowed to stay in the pool area after the pool was closed to sit and visit. Our group of 30 people or more stays once a year at a hotel and books at least 10 or more rooms for those nights. We like to hang out after pool closing to visit and they would not allow it. Missed out on a lot of family time. We do not allow anyone to go in the pool itself, just like to use the seating and tables to play card games, hang out, and visit.

    « Family time »

We have a large family that stays somewhere every year for a mid winter break. Last 2 years we spent at this hotel. Nice open area for pool area that accommodates our large group nicely. We like that the hotel is an open concept with pool side rooms. We have newborn to great grandparents at 82 and 84 years old. This works perfectly. Rooms are nice. Could use a little bit of updates in the bathrooms as our door frame was not straight. Also could use updated tubs.

« Great location for Me »

A very good and consistent experience at this location. Covenant location for my travels up and down the central portion of Wisconsin. Plenty of food offerings and shopping near this location. This location would be a great family weekend escape from the cold Wisconsin winters.

    « Great time! »

The staff were wonderful, building was nice, breakfast was delicious and we loved the salt water pool! We had a pool side room and my kids were on cloud nine. The pool area was clean and warm...the dome is neat and they provide towels. The hot tub was also very nice.

« Best Western always our 1st choice »

Always treated great! Salt water pool in Appleton super! Breakfast at this hotel as well as the Best Western in Minneapolis, MN is always fantastic. Travel quite a bit with our 8 year old Grandson who loves to Swim. Hours of pools are great as they are open later in the event busy visiting or shopping, and also allow for a quick swim prior to check out. Considering a Breakfast out for 4 could easily exceed $60 with tip, juices, milk etc., Best Westerns are an extreme value.

    « Practical location »

We have stayed here annually for the last 5 years. Unfortunately, there have been many changes. We don't mind that the breakfast is no longer in the restaurant with a much smaller selection. It is more convenient to get to from the rooms. The defunct Indian restaurant which is adjacent to the hotel still has its sign up. The ping pong and pool table in the pool area were gone as were all of the tables and chairs due to renovation and construction. The salt water pool area, pool table and especially the ping pong table are the main reasons we have stayed there. Our king room off of the pool area was okay but there is noise from the pool area. The tall mirror in the room is half covered by the drapes. The refrigerator has ample space & the microwave was nice.

« On a budget with kids, stay here! »

I stayed here with my husband and we got a great deal on the room. It's a bit tired but not dirty and it's being updated. The breakfast room was large and the hot buffet was included in the price. There is a Perkins a few blocks down the street that has 1/2 price appetizers if your hungry late at night. The pool is the center piece of the hotel and it's a salt water pool. Many rooms surround the pool and we had one of thoes rooms, get one if you stay here. It isn't your ordinary hotel pool. It's quite large and it's indoor. The deep end is 8 foot deep, and I believe it was open untill !0:30p. This is a winter water park on the cheep for you and the kids. The down side, it was noisey. Our room was attached to another room and we could hear the converstion next door.

    « I wouldn't recommend... »

We had to double check we had the right place as we didn't believe pulling up it could be. Dark parking lot, a few cars. Went in and more of the same. Dark and desolate feel. We checked in, the whole time thinking- maybe it gets better? Things are pretty banged up. Our room and it seems most rooms, surround the pool area. So it was warm and smelt of chlorine right up to your room door. There are big windows from room to pool area. I am sure there are blinds... but no thanks. Maybe good for parents with young kids who want to keep an eye on the area?? The door was very scuffed and if the door didn't shut well enough you can open the door without key pad. The room was small and very dim and dreary. We didn't feel comfortable staying here so we immediately went back to the desk and told them so. The guy said no problem. He cancelled our stay and said since he is new he needed to call his manager to issue a refund since we had already scanned our card! Apparently his manager told him to get our name and number and he would call us the next day to take care of it. That would have been Saturday. No call. Today is Sunday, no call. I WILL be calling tomorrow to get my refund! We drove down the road and stayed at the Hampton on Fox River Dr. So much nicer, very friendly and LESS money.

« Very Old, Badly in need of an Upgrade, but Ok. »

This hotel is very old. Decor in the dome/pool area is clearly circa 1976. They have a salt water pool and a very small hot tub/whirlpool and poolside rooms are available; unfortunately the poolside rooms ONLY offer two "queen" beds, however, these seem to be smaller queen size beds than standard. They are definitely not as wide as any queen size beds I've ever seen. The rooms have a definite "old hotel" smell -- sort of like the smell you get at a used clothing consignment shop (Goodwill)... room seems clean; older furnishings. They offer a breakfast in the morning, but we were not able to try it because it ended too early. Biggest disappointment here was that the pool closes at 10:30 at night, so if you get in late and want to swim or use the hot tub, you're pretty much out of luck. We got a poolside room to enjoy the pool but came in late and it was so close to closing time, we didn't get to use it. All in all, at $110 a night, it was a little pricey for what we got.

    « Better than expected »

The exterior needs a face lift but the lobby and rooms are updated, modern, and clean. Breakfast could be better to match competitors. Overall the stay was very good for the price and would stay again.

    « What a great hotel! »

The front desk people were great! The room was excellent, and the breakfast food and service was the best! I can't say enough as we have stayed in some "rat holes" on this trip. The Best Western hotel in Appleton, WI was a breath of fresh air!! Jack & Oleta

    « Satisfied customer »

The only negative really are the hallways that had a musty smell and the carpeting seemed old. The rooms were large, the bed comfortable and the bathroom up to date. Big parking lot, multiple entrances and okay complimentary breakfast. Nice indoor pool area, although we did not try it. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

« The Staff Makes the Hotel »

I was scheduled for two days of meetings in the Appleton area. My plan was to arrive the night before, stay for two nights, and return home after the 2nd day of meetings. However, on the morning I planned to leave, I realized I had screwed up my calendar and that my meetings started that day! As I rushed to get out the door, I called the hotel to change my reservation to just one night. That's when I realized that I had been correct when I made the reservations, and I had actually "no-showed" the night before. I thought that would be a very expensive mistake. However, when I called the hotel, Patrick was unbelievably kind and helpful. He said that he would keep me checked in, my key would be waiting at the front desk, and they would only charge me for the one night. What a relief! When I arrived after a long and stressful, my key was waiting and I went right to my room. I had a Jacuzzi suite, and it was quite spacious. There was a bar area that separated the sleeping/living area from the Jacuzzi area so that the Jacuzzi could not be seen from the main part of the room. The bar had a medium sized refrigerator that was already cold and a microwave. The first thing I wanted to do was settle into that Jacuzzi. It filled quickly and had no issues with water pressure, tempurature or the jets. It was incredibly relaxing and comfortable with one major exception - it had a 15 minute timer that was not easily reachable from inside the Jacuzzi. When it shut off, I had to stand up in the tub and stretch to reach the dial on a wall around the corner. I had visions of people slipping and falling in the tub trying to do exactly that. Here are my other pros/cons/observations: Good/Neutral - The bed was not especially soft, but was better than some. I slept very well. - The wifi was easy to connect to, and worked very well. - The room was clean and tastefully decorated. - The shower was nice with good water flow and a built in seat. Room for improvement - with recommendations - The air conditioner/heating unit was around the corner in the Jacuzzi/Bar area. Therefore, it never really effectively cooled the room. It was also loud enough to wake me more than once. - There is no vanity in the bathroom; just a stand alone sink. This can be a challenge for those of us who wear makeup and do our hair. It would be much easier if they would put a mirror at the desk in the room. - They don't give out the shampoo/conditioner/lotion amenities. Instead they have the industrial wall units in the bathroom that say "hair" and "body." - The reviews had me expecting a hot breakfast with plenty of choices. It was really more of the usual continental breakfast with bagels, toast, yogurt and cereal. There was one warm dish that had sausage patties and what the sign said were "egg patties." I was NOT brave enough to try them. Despite the areas of opportunity, I was very happy with my overall stay. This was in large part to the helpful, friendly staff. Also, the room was clean and updated, the wifi worked well, and I was able to soak in a Jacuzzi. I really don't need any more than that.

« OK place to stop »

This was my first time at this location, I have stay at other hotel that is close and was much happier with the accommodations. If you need a one night stay and all other places are full check it out. The pool area is one of the shinning points.

« Not up to standard »

Employees and entire staff were very nice. Outside appearance and lobby were very nice. Salt water pool was dirty and room had an odor although it appeared to be clean. This is an older facility that could use some attention.

« Comfortable but needs updating »

Comfortable enough but the whole place in need of updating. Also I booked room in January just to have them call me in August saying they were overbooked and they would have to move us to Milwaukee, 2 hours away. I fought it and it worked out but wasn't impressed

« Very quiet hotel with excellent breakfast options! »

Refreshing salt water pool and hot tub that were wonderful after a long day, peaceful and restful nights sleep, and then a plethora of options for breakfast the next day (really appreciated toppings for either oatmeal or yogurt! yum!).

    « Review »

Best Western is a good buy for the money. The title of this hotel is not accurate. it is a very good motel. Seems like you folks should have a more swankier name to rival Hyatt. The bathrooms are amazingly up to date. The pool looks really clean.

« This was our first time here »

This place was so great, starting with Dave the desk clerk. He was so polite and very knowledgeable about the Appleton Area. Places to eat along with things to do. Hotel was very clean, room was a dream. Very clean, very friendly staff, and the breakfast was good both days. We so enjoyed our stay here that next time we visit the Appleton area this is definitely going to be where we stay. Dave made our stay very enjoyable, and we hope to see him again at this hotel soon. Great little get away for us.

    « A comfortable place for a break from a long drive »

I spent the night here during a drive from Minneapolis to Door County, Wisconsin. It's easily accessible from the freeway, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The free wireless Internet works great. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel serves a free hot breakfast, and there are a variety of restaurants nearby - even within walking distance. The rates are reasonable.

    « Wonderful pool area »

This Best Western is in a very good location of shopping and eating. The pool area with the salt water pool was extremely nice. They also have a hot tub. The entire area was very clean. The major complaint I have was the bed. Very, very uncomfortable. You felt like you were actually sleeping on the box spring and not the mattress. The room itself was very nice. It was updated with new carpet and a nice bedspread. The bathroom had many chipped tiles and needs some updating although it was clean. The breakfast was very good, had many choices. The people who worked there weren't overly friendly at first but since we stayed a week, they seemed to loosen up. The outside of the hotel looks very old but they really are trying to make it nicer. I had to rate it a"3" because of the bed, but otherwise, it was an ok place to stay.

    « Great pool / gathering area »

The rooms are pretty standard, the bathrooms on the small side, but if you want a nice public gathering area and pool for a reasonable price, this is a great place. They even have some toddler play items to keep the very little ones entertained (noted because not many hotels have this).

    « Best western appleton »

Great staff and great facility, Ashley at the front desk was expecially helpful with helping us get a room. Has a nice pool area with a hot tub, rooms are nice for the price. Friendly and homey environment.

    « Great family Hotel »

We stayed for 5 nights. Our toddler loved the pool and toddler play area. We didn't find the staff overly friendly but when we met Niki the owner we were very impressed with her kindness. The hotel is a bit older but with a great breakfast and the great resort style pool we enjoyed our stay. The wifi was decent and accessible in our room which was a big bonus too. The only drawback was the housekeeping services that really did the bare minimum during our stay.

    « Great Family Hotel »

First we were greeted by Patrick who could not have been friendler. Then our room was situated steps away from the pool entrance and dining area. I have a great bed at home so I usually hate sleeping in hotels but these were very comfortable. The pool area is just as pictured except there are two pool tables and no ping pong. The water was chillier than I can tolerate for long but the kids didn't seem to notice. A long soak in the hot tub cured me. There's a Perkins two businesses away that you can easily walk to if you don't want to get in the car. Other than that this part of town is not the prettiest but there are a lot of stores, restaurants and things to do within a very small radius. The breakfast has the typical selections of breads, juices, coffee, fruit, cereal and waffle station with another hot entre area that changes daily. The attendant is very watchful and keeps the place extremely neat. This is the cleanest hotel I have ever been in and I've been to a lot of hotels. We come to Appleton every year and this is our first stay at the Best Western but it won't be our last!

« Osh Kosh air show- great option near by- attentive staff, salt pool for end of day, access to god restaurants »

Great experience, cozy rooms, nice alternative in Appleton, breakfast available, fedex nearby and shopping - reasonable rates, families, quiet, easy access off I-41. Water nearby, business services available- great location for long day trips, Appleton airport.

« Good Hotel for the price »

We arrived for a family function staying 2 days at the Best Western. The room was nice and clean, the beds were very nice. They were in the process of some major outside renovations, so the looks of the hotel should improve a great deal. The grand kids enjoyed the indoor pool and the video games available. I would definitely stay here again. It's close to everything in town. That was a big plus.

« Close to everything, nice stay all around. »

Stayed for 3 days for a local event. Property is aged but clean. The free breakfast was above average. The crown jewel here is the salt water pool. I've never swam in a salt water pool, but wow!? I've seen my kids skin turn red and had my eyes burn from over chlorinated hotel pools. I have no idea why every hotel does not have a salt water pool?! Based on what I researched, it actually costs less to maintain and is obviously better for you health wise. So if you bare in mind that this is an independently owned Best Wester geared towards family occupation, and not the Hilton, you will do just fine. All the staff was very nice as well.

« It works just fine »

Our stay at this hotel was fine. The lobby was nice and clean. Front desk clerk who checked us in was friendly. The room was comfortable, but nothing to be wowed over. The best feature of this hotel is their atrium pool area, which is spacious. I liked the natural lightning from the greenhouse type roof. There are a few arcade games and pool tables to give you something to do if you are looking to kill some time. Breakfast was the typical continental style - though there were hot eggs, sausage patties and gravy which was a pleasant surprise. The gentleman running breakfast was very nice and after he restocked the food he walked around to guest tables asking if they needed anything (nice touch). This hotel did the job for our one-night stay as we passed through town and was a good value.

    « Wonderful Stay »

Love this hotel how all the room surround the amazing salt water pool. Breakfast was always ready to go and restocked with helpful friendly staff. Love the coffee in the lobby as you are on your way out the door. Pool area was the favorite we were there for baseball tournament and the seating along the pool while kids swam and pool tables to keep everyone busy when not swimming. I would highly recommend this Best Western.

« Seems To Be Understaffed »

Where to start. Well, when I arrived, I went to the front desk to check in, only to find no one around. A sign on the desk advised to ring the bell. Ring the bell I did only to continue waiting. Then I spied another sign at the other end of the desk which stated for service at the desk to dial a number. I would have tried that also but there was no phone to be seen. After a 10-15 minute wait, the clerk returned apologizing the whole time for his absence (and for forgetting to put the phone out next to the sign). We finally got to the room and first thing noticed is bobby pins lying about on the floor. So now as we look around for bobby pins we also find several straight pins lying about on the floor. Come on people, if you are going to clean a room, CLEAN IT! So now my wife is looking around to see what else hasn't been cleaned and upon pulling the sheets back on one of the beds, finds a urine stained mattress pad on one of the beds. (We used this bed to throw our luggage on). Yes it was washed, yes there was a sheet over it, but come on, its stained with urine. Upon checking out, I was planning on addressing these things with the clerk but lo and behold once again, nowhere to be found. On the upside, the sleep was actually decent, the motel quiet, and the a/c cold. Would I go back? Not so sure.

« Still Pretty Good But Understaffed »

We have stayed here the last 3 years for a baseball tournament and this hotel is very convenient. We checked in on a Friday around 4 and knew the place was booked for the night. The front desk was staffed by one clerk who was responsible for all check ins and taking reservations. This really slowed the process down and it took a long time to check in. The poolside room we had appeared to have been renovated recently and they did a good job. The pool area and salt water pool make for a good time for families. They don't open the pool till 930 which seems late. I understand the noise potential but kids like to get an early swim in most times. The breakfast last year had an omelet station which was great. Not so this year. Just the usual scrambled eggs and sausage patties. I like this place and will return next year. The pool area is GREAT for families.

« Best Western Appleton, WI »

excellent value for the price very spacious pool and rec area with ample tables for large parties Manager remembered me from the previous year's trip Made me feel special Location is very accessible to plenty of very good restuarants

« Team week end stay »

We stayed at this hotel because it was set up as a block with our kids team on a week end tourney. It is an older hotel that has had some updates in the rooms. It sort of has a "motor lodge" feel to it. My initial contact with the desk was poor to say the least. However, the manager worked very hard to correct the situation the following day. The rooms were clean and have a fridge. Some parts of the room still seem a bit dated. The pool area is large and sunny during the day with skylights over the top. The breakfast has a variety of hot and cold foods typical of hotels. Overall, it was an average hotel with a great manager. It worked well for a group but might not be my first choice if I wanted a stay for a fun week end in Appleton with just our family.

« Needs update but good for families »

Liked the pool area. Nice pool and hot tub. Large area for kids to play. Check in was bad, they assigned us a room which they were still cleaning and they appeared to have many more rooms available. Common areas were not clean. With some undated and better maintenance this would be a great facility. Breakfast was fair at best, it is what you would expect at a budget motel.

    « Whirlpool & TV Disappointment »

I was hoping to relax after a long day in the whirlpool only to be frustrated by the lack of operating instructions. I don't own a whirlpool tub so I can't be expected to solve the "mystery of operation". Since the TV and the whirlpool were the two primary sources of relaxation in the room, I'd have to say that things were a complete bust. The TV had no signal and the whirlpool no "whirl". vey disappointing :(

« Stay for college reunion »

Have stayed at this hotel before. Easy access to destination and activities. The property is a little dated, but clean and staff friendly and helpful. We had a poolside room, but did not use the pool. It was a very nice space and was used extensively.

    « Bestwestern Fox Valley »

It was ok. The hotel staff made us leave the pool area 15min before it closed. They called us before we got there and said our room was available, but then called back after they found out we were with a group of people and told us our room was available.

« Favorite place to stay! »

Every visit has been great! We especially love the pool! The rooms are always clean, the staff has always been wonderful. We look forward to staying there often when we are in Appleton visiting with our family.

    « Not Good »

This is a very old hotel that is not in the best neighborhood. It is not very clean. The rooms and the hotel in general have a foul odor. Our room has an acrid doggy odor. The rug feels grimy. We will never stay here again...

« Great time for families and kids! »

I stay here all the time when I come to visit my son. We always have fun in the beautiful salt water pool. They also have a wonderful hot tub that is very relaxing. The rooms are perfectly comfortable and the staff is always helpful. The manager Sandip is always friendly. I would always recommend this hotel for families and kids. It's always a great time!

« Above Average and Conveniently Located »

Got a pool-side room (which are noisy but convenient). Breakfast is sort of lame. Only styrofoam plates/cups and weak quality. The hotel is very conveniently located to lots of shopping and other activities.

« Not impressed with the room »

Pool area looks amazing - however I did not use the pool. The room is very worn; apparently, I did not get one of the remodeled rooms others have mentioned. The bed was like sleeping on a sack of flattened cardboard - it was hard, and boxy feeling. Also, I slept for a couple hours, woke and felt like bugs were crawling on me. I turned on the lights, but didn't see anything. I stayed in #158, which is as far from the desk as possible along the back corner of the property. I felt uneasy about security (unusual for me to feel that way). There are security cameras in the hallway (unusual) but I did not see any monitoring the parking lot or entrances. Note fort CCW / Concealed Carry gun owners: There are 'No Guns' signs on all entrances to the property; if you are a law-abiding gun owner, this is probably not the place you want to stay. Obviously, 'bad guys' would disregard no-gun signs anyway, leaving gun owners either unprotected or in violation of the law, with your gun outside in the car where it won't help anyone if you need it.

« New updates sure do help »

My main reason for picking this hotel was because of the pool, hot tub and continental breakfast. So it was just a bonus having the newly remodeled rooms. But one of my pet peeves is the comfort of the bed. I personally prefer a softer mattress. The other one is cleanliness. The room was ok except they didn't move the ottoman to vacuum. When I moved it there was dried up flower petals.

    « Not the Best... »

We've been trying to find a decent hotel that will take pets without a $100 charge when we visit my mom. So far, it isn't looking good. Pluses: Best Western only charges $20 per night for pets. The Staff is super friendly and accommodating! Our room: stunk. Moldy musty crusty on the bedspread rundown room... So we asked to move to another room. And Ashley was professional and moved us. Next door. So it was a little less stinky but the toilet wouldn't flush unless you held it down, the room still had aroma issues. We all had headaches and I had an allergic reaction to the must and mold. If you don't have allergies, the room was clean enough. The bedspreads were clean in the second room and they have a ton of tv channels to choose from. The pool was outdoors, and it was a little chilly by the time we were able to swim. We visit my mom often and wish there was a few choices for a newer hotel with pets allowed!

    « Wonderful place »

Omgoodness!!! Sandip is the most AMAZING customer service rep!!! He is so kind and friendly.. The best I have EVER received in my life.. Highly recommend this place and will continue to return for mini get aways!!

« Front Desk Manager very nice and personalble. »

We recently stayed at this hotel to visit my niece how just had a baby. The front desk manager emailed me a few days before check in to notify me that the pool would be closed for a portion of our stay for maintenance. Since we had a pool side room he would need to move us. When I asked if he could move us and give a discount for our trouble he was quick to answer and offered a small discount. He then emailed me quickly back notifying me that the pool would only be closed one day. He still honored the discount for 3 days and the remaining days at the original agreed upon price. And he didn't need to move us. Overall a "stand-up" manager.

« Salt pool! Five stars for supporting public health! »

The fact there is a SALT WATER POOL is especially notable! When the LA Olympics happened, international swimming competitors would not swim in a chlorine pool, since chlorine had been linked to congestive heart diseases, metabolic distresses, and decreased swimming speed. Since then, unbelieving US universities have put it to the test for the speed factor and found chlorine significantly slows the swimmer, since the metabolism has to detox as it works to swim. Some years ago, we lived in a condo complex which decided to opt for a peroxide-salt pool when repairing the outdoor facility, since it was easier & cheaper to maintain pool health, water cleanliness/public health, environmentally safe, and would not foster pathogenic muck. (Chlorine will speed black mildew growth, a deadly one.) By comparison to chlorine, people using the pool experienced: no fatigue, no burn-out, no bleaching of clothing, no respiratory issues, no need for lotions to help the skin afterwards - actually a pleasant skin response! Good move, Appleton Best Western!

« Great value, fun hotel »

This Best Western was beautiful and fun. The hotel rooms circle an atrium with nice pool, 2 pool tables, and other family friendly toys. Cleanliness is a number 1 priority to me and this Best Western met the white glove test. We will definitely stay here again.

« Very average hotel stay »

Hotel rooms face open atrium with salt water pool. I had trouble using electronic key card to unlock my room. At least one key worked each time. Front desk person was friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Bed provided good night's sleep. Continental breakfast was adequate- paper plates provided (not china) and no attendant available. Good OK. Restaurant and bar attached to hotel were also average.

    « Great Customer service »

We stayed there with a large group last weekend and I was impressed with Sandip and his excellent customer service. There were 4-5 large groups at the same time and he made sure we all shared the tables and chairs so each group had some. He came around multiple times to ask how we were doing and if we needed anything. He even came to tell us the 2 rooms checking in the second night were ready early. He was in great spirits and always smiling, He's a great asset to your hotel. The pool area is great for families and the accommodations for the large families groups are great. The neighbors were loud, but that wasn't the hotels fault.

    « Large family get-away »

Our family gathering took many lower level poolside rooms. Staff was very accommodating to our large group. Allowed us to bring our buffet of meals at the poolside area. They checked on us often to make sure we did not need anything. Pool and hot tub is saltwater, which the kids loved. No chlorine smell, which is a plus! Only drawback was pool area (including seating) was limited from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. It would have been nice to be able to still sit in that area after pool closure. When there is approximately 50 people ranging in age from 2 months to 83 years old in our group, guest rooms are just not large enough for that. But overall, we were very satisfied and would stay again.

    « Bowling »

The State tournament was in the Neenah/Menasha area but this hotel is convenient to both establishments. The salt water pool looked good but was too crowded for me. The breakfast area was adequate to serve many people. I enjoyed the choice of making one big waffle or 4 smaller ones. That was good for the kids so there wasn't a wasting of food.

    « Family Get Away »

The hotel is a little old but very well kept up. The pool area is fantastic for the kids and grandkids. There is a large area for adults to sit in pool area and enjoy their stay. The rooms are very clean but do show a slight bit of ware. The staff was very, very helpful and friendly. Sandip, at the front desk is now a friend. He paid special attention to our group, as he does with all of his guests. We will be back several more times in the future,

The Girl Checking In was horrible. Asked for a 1st floor room as i am a handicapped person. Gave me a 2nd floor room with no elevator.. I am a reward person and stay at the best westerns all the time, usually at a Plus or Executive but this was the only one in Appleton. You might as well stay at a Super 8 for $100.00 for a single and get better rooms and service. While i was in the lobby, one lady came in and said her kids feet were cut up from the salt water pool. Guy at the desk really did not care and just pushed it off. another man came and asked for the manager, guy at the desk said he was it. Guy at desk gave that guy an excuse. They really do not care about customer service just the money. Smelled like Curry the minute you step in the lobby. I hate that smell!

« Awesome stay at Best Western In Appleton!!! »

The service was awesome, very attentive hotel staff. We enjoyed poolside rooms. The temp of the pool was perfect, no shivers, the temp within pool area was comfortable. Breakfast location was perfect.

« Outstanding customer service! Manager went beyond expectations. »

Sandip went out of his way to welcome our group; accommodating our travel schedules by changing breakfast and check out times - amazing. He intentionally would track us down to touch base with our group multiple times throughout our stay to make sure all our needs were being met. Rooms were nice, though did not expect to have to drag luggage up stairs. The pool area was great for groups, large courtyard style and welcoming atmosphere. Area for setting up your own buffet / snacks for your group. Kid friendly. Workout room was too HOT, tiny, low ceilings (so no fan) no air movement and the washer / dryer were in the same room which made it even worse for air flow /air quality. Definitely would stay there again if in the area.

« Glad we chose to stay here! Great service, clean rooms. »

I want to start by saying I don't typically write reviews, but I felt I needed to write this review. Reading through reviews on here I saw mixed feelings from previous guests at this hotel. I would have to say that after our 2 night stay our expectations were exceeded. We stayed with our family and basketball team. I believe we had up to 9 rooms during our stay and I didn't hear one negative from any of the families. It is an older hotel that has had renovations. Our room was updated with newer carpeting, bedding, desk and chair, table with 2 chairs, and updated bathroom vanity. The TV was a large (probably 36 in.) flat screen TV. Our room was cooler upon arrival, however we turned the heat up and in no time were toasty warm. The room was clean and stocked with clean towels. We had a second story poolside room. It was nice to look out over the pool area and see who was at the pool already from our group. We enjoyed the pool area as a group with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the pool and eat as a group poolside. The pool area is probably the best I've been at for a long time for a hotel, it is as the picture looks. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. They went above and beyond for our group and making our stay very enjoyable. The breakfast is a very nice full breakfast that was served both mornings. Sandin was great, asking many times if we needed anything else and also asked about our basketball games, adding the personal touch that this hotel has. We even had a question for management regarding checkout and they called him at home on a Saturday night, I've never had that done before. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would book again if we are in the Appleton area. Do as we did, check it out for yourself and be your own judge, glad we did.

I had a great time with my family and the pool is as good as it looks. Service was mediocre, I was quoted multiple prices and then had to booked online for the best price. The rooms are not warm when you go in and the tile floor in the bathroom was still cold when we left. So cold we put towels down.

« again an almost perfect mini vacation »

poolside rooms that are indeed poolside...can sit in courtyard setting and watch children in the pool without missing a conversation...some staff extremely friendly due to very long association of going there every year

Checked and got room on second floor. No elevator. Hauled up all of our stuff up the stairs. Opened door. Alarm clock in the room going off. Heat NOT turned on. Saw breath when breathing. Turned On Heat to 86. Used the bathroom. Felt like ice fishing. Left room for it to warmup because it wasn't inhabitable. Went down to pool. Chairs not super comfy and dirty tables. Went back to room about 30 minutes later. Still cold but with jackets on somewhat tolerable. Went to bed. No extra blankets for said cold room. No extra pillows there either. Slept. Woke up. Tried to shower. No shampoo or body wash. Fridge was nice and cold-just like room.

    « Decent stay »

We stayed here over Thanksgiving while in town to see the Packers. To start, it was a bit difficult to get to the front entrance via the frontage road but we figured it out. Staff was pleasant at check in and answered questions we had before our arrival about shipping a package via Fed Ex to the hotel. We had no issues with that and were able to get what we need. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The hot water did not work in the sink for some reason but that was OK. WiFi worked great in our room. I was a bit put off with no toiletries besides the body was dispenser, which I found weird. The sign listing prices for items like sheets and the hair dryer was very strange but whatever. We only ate breakfast once at the hotel and it was OK. Nothing to write home about. Overall, we had a good stay and would stay here again.

Its Bad. Room not clean for arrival. Clerks don't care. Overpriced. Dust & dirt on carpet along baseboards. Needs painting & remodeling. Has odor. Style & décor must be at least 50/60 years old. Breakfast limited and unappetizing.

    « Can't recommend this property »

Second visit at this hotel and it has gone downhill. The pool/atrium area is very nice which is why we chose this property, however the room was gross/dumpy. Rooms need major updating, won't stay here again unless that happens. Also breakfast was setup in old rooms, very odd. Didn't seem clean or spacious enough for people to get their food and eat. Only stay here if you can stand sleeping in a disgusting place.

SANDIP is the best! Such a kind man and I enjoyed my stay in his hotel. I stayed there a lot and I always felt at home :) The rooms were always clean, the staff was always willing to help and efficient in doing so. And Sandip especially went out of his way to do all that he could to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The location is great! Not far from Lambeau and I had no problem walking across the street for food and then enjoying it in my room in front of the TV and heater (brrrr) I enjoyed the vending machines very much so, used the laundry room, enjoyed after a long day relaxing in the hot tub. The entire inside of the pool area is high ceiling and open like, it's very nice to look at it and feels like the great environment that it is. I recommend the Best Western Fox Valley Inn, Appleton WI!!! Thank you & Best Wishes: Elyse

Not a great place to stay if you are looking for somewhere nice. The rooms were shabby and the walls were thin. Could hear the loud people next door as if they were in your room. Only shining spot is their salt water pool.

    « mold and filth »

Bathroom had mold black with spores on ceiling and wall above shower head. Bathroom floor was not clean with visible dirt on floor. Each bed had four pillows on the bed that appeared clean when looking at the beds. In the morning one pillow that hopefully wasn't used?? had a huge moldly pressed stain embedded into the pillow case. When attempting to take the pillow case off the pillow it was like ironed on or pressed into the pillow. stain was also on pillow. I took pictures of stained pillow and also the mold on the wall and told the person at the front desk. He asked me why I hadn't noticed the stain on the pillow when I arrived. I didn't exam both sides of the eight pillows guess that was my mistake??? All he said was oh ok I will tell housekeeping when they clean the room. I said the moldl on the ceiling didn't just appear when It has spores growing on someone maybe be better tell someone that maybe they need to check rooms for issues that aren't reported to you. I paid $169 for the room for one night. I will never stay at a Best Western again. I will check pillows on both sides and exam the entire room before I lay my head on any hotel bed again. I think I will just stay home after that experience. Unbelievable and a health hazard!!

    « Exceded our expectations »

The staff, rooms and pool area exceded our expectations. The hotel stall all went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms are very nice with large tv's and comfortable beds. The pool area is great..very large and the pool has very warm water. We all enjoyed our stay very much. We had seven rooms and we all were very pleased.

« Good place to stay..... »

The rooms were average fridge, microwave, etc. Bed was very comfortable and pillows were as well. The pool area is very nice with hot tub, room to veg out and relax with family/friends. Breakfast was typical of hotel breakfast. Had to wait for a bit for the eggs, but sausage, biscuit gravey, bread, toast, muffins, juice, coffee, cereal etc. The staff was very nice and helpful. They were very understanding of a situation that arose with one of the guests that was with our room and I appreciated that.

    « A solid place to sty »

The rooms are large and pretty quiet. There is free wi-fi and the rooms have fridges and microwaves. While not an abundance of electrical plugs, there were enough to charge our various devices. the complimentary breakfast was standard Best Western fare which means ample, with some choices and some hot dishes.

    « Good night sleep »

I reserved this hotel due to no other hotels in the area available at the time. Glad I did! The hospitality and accommodations exceeded my expectations and we were also traveling with dogs which apparently did not come across the internet when I reserved the room online. The clerk at the desk on Saturday proceeded to tell us that that info does not come through and perhaps next time call to make the reservation. However, he was able to get us a pet friendly room and it was a terrific location in the hotel.

« Seems like the place to have a party »

If I ever needed a place in Appleton to have an indoor pool party, this seems like it would be a great place, as there were 3 of them there during the course of our one night stay. And I can see why, the atrium with the indoor pool is really very nice and has lots of tables, which many used to their advantage to set up their spreads of food and drinks. Reading other reviews that said there were a lot of parties I actually called ahead of time to be sure the pool area wouldn't be closed for any, and the person answering the phone said no, they never do that. That's probably true as there was no "Closed" sign, but there were definitely parties. There were so many people there for them, I had to question if each party goer was in fact a registered guest at the hotel? I don't claim that they weren't, it just made me wonder. If I had 15-20 people all willing to pay for a night in a hotel so we could have a pool party, great. No one was overly loud or crazy by any means, it was just definitely party central. That said all rooms do circle the pool, so there was noise. With two young kids to put to bed early, it wasn't the best choice for us, and wouldn't be for anyone looking for a relaxing stay. You may very well stay at a time when there aren't any parties going on, but since they don't book it for this purpose or seem to give the staff a heads up, you'd be taking your chances. Rooms are just fine, little older and dingy (especially the bathtub). Beds pretty stiff. Having a fridge and microwave was nice. All in all we were uncomfortable enough to head home early even though we prepaid for 2 nights, especially since the parties were going on and we knew there wouldn't really be any more pool time with the kids.
