« A comfortable hotel but it would benefit greatly from some refurbishment. »

I stayed at the Best Western Hotel in Ansbach for one night in June 2016. I arrived late and only just got to the hotel as the receptionist left (not a 24 hour reception desk, check-in ends at midnight) but they were leaving me a key in the front entrance porch. I stayed in a Standard Queen Bed Room for which I paid GB£62, which included breakfast so was good value... Breakfast as well was a very nice buffet. My room was clean and comfortable but I felt the whole hotel was a bit 'dated' in its decor and could do with a bit of a refurbishment or modernisation, hence my average only rating. The views from the restaurant were lovely. The car park is free but it is not secure.

« Good hotel with an excellent restaurant »

I spend 3 nights at this Best Western Hotel. My room had with a beautiful view over the city. I added a picture, but the view in reality is much better than the picture can show you. A nice and quiet room with a balcony. The WiFi was working very well. I slept here excellent. Every evening I had my diner in the restaurant and every morning my breakfast. The quality of food was very good and the variety gave me a good choice. The staff was amazing, so customer friendly. May I say I would like to recommend this hotel ?

    « Lovely hotel »

A very nice clean hotel with staff that cannot do too much for you. Our room was at the back of the hotel that looked out over Ansbach with an amazing view of the town. The breakfast buffet catered for all tastes and it had a wonderful view over the town so was a very pleasant place to start the day. However, I recommend that you have a car to get to it from the town, because its a very steep hill to walk up to get back to it, especially if you've enjoyed plenty of retail therapy in the town.

« Amazing views, very nice hotel. »

We were very pleased with the accommodations at the Best Western in Ansbach, Germany. Our room was on the third floor, facing the city, which offered spectacular views of the city of Ansbach. The hotel was very quiet, and well maintained. We did eat dinner in he hotel restaurant one evening with a group and found the food just OK, and maybe a little over-priced, but the service was fine and our group as a whole had a great time staying here. Love the ability to open the windows and balcony door to let fresh air in. The wi-fi was very good too, probably the fastest we experienced at any hotel in Germany.

    « Would look elsewhere! »

Stayed here for a week, after the first day I looked for another hotel, but everything in the area was full. The first problem was the T.V. It turned on fine, but after 2 or 3 minutes you could no longer adjust how loud it was, change the channel or turn it off, even by the power button onthe TV, I had to unplug it. I told the front desk, they changed the batteries on the remote the next day while I was gone. That night the same problem, I went to the front desk again and was told I would need to wait till the next day when the handyman was at work. The next day the same problem again, again I went to the front desk, but this time was a very uncaring receptionist (black female). Basically, when I told her she told me I would have to again wait on the handyman for the next day, then just ignored me and went in the back office. The next day in the morning I again told the reception (white male) about the problem and was told the handyman would look at it through the day while I was gone. When I got back that night still had the same problem, luckily the handyman was still at the hotel and came to my room with me so I could show him the problem. He replace the TV with one from another room and finally after 4 days I could watch tv in the evening, and turn it off without having to unplug the TV every time. Next, it sure would be nice to have an actual chair/couch to sit on instead of a wicker terrace stool. You either have to sit on the plastic wicker stool or lay in the bed. Not very comfortable. Third, the free wireless internet is great to have I your room, it is almost as fast as the connection I had in 1989. Most of the time it just doesn't work, when it does it is EXTREEMLY SLOW. Just to watch a 10 min video I had to download for work took about 45 min. Fourth, mold in the bathroom shower. I understand that it's a bathroom and there might me some mold in there, but this was not normal (see picture). Fifth and last of the bad, see the picture below of the coffee cup?? Is this normal that the coffee cup sticks to the plate unless it's dirty? Leftover sugar??i used one cup in the room before I noticed this, I had a sore throat the next day! If the two are connected I don't know, but it went away the next day after not using the cups in the room. I am not sure how this hotel rates a 4 star hotel. One more. The bed. I was traveling alone this time, but if you are coming with you spouse and enjoy sleeping together, you may want to look for another hotel, the beds here (I had a queen) are not really made for two people, it is nothing but 2 twin pushed together, but do not stay together (see picture) OK for the good (maybe these are not all good, but not all bad) the food in the restaurant was really good, even if they only have 5 items on the menu, but is overpriced. The staff, with exception of the black female receptionist, was really friendly. Breakfast selection is real good, but not 12,50€ worth. Maybe 8€. I have lived and worked in Germany for 15 years and have stayed in many hotels, this was not even close to what a 4 star should be. And the room prices are high for what you get. if I had friends heading this direction I would send them elsewhere.

    « Table with a View »

Wonderful hotel, great breakfast buffet, excellent location. Second time there and will return. Parking can be a challenge but is manageable. Restaurant is pricey but you are paying for the best view in Ansbach, Germany! Eat on the patio in nice weather. A favorite location for visitors from everywhere.

« Somewhat dated 70s American Style Hotel, but our stay was pleasant »

With a lovely location overlooking Ansbach, this somewhat outdated hotel nevertheless still provided us with a pleasant 2-nights stay. The rooms and bathrooms are in typical Best Western hotel style and size, but with German style furnishings. Much to the delight of our grandson the rooms had balconies where he sat to drink tea that could be prepared in the room. The ladies behind the desk were pleasant and helpful. The restaurant and wait staff were lovely and we enjoyed a plentiful breakfast each morning. It's a short car ride from the hotel to the city center of Ansbach with shops, restaurants, etc.

« Best in the area! »

Ansbach is short on traditional hotels, this hotel is likely the best in the area. Located on the side of a hill overlooking the city the view (on the city side) is outstanding. Like most German hotels this property does not have air conditioning. Most rooms though have ample windows and/or balcony doors to let in the breeze. There are a limited number of fans available; be sure to ask while checking in. Probably the best element of this hotel is the complimentary breakfast. There is a limited menu restaurant and a bar on the premises. Conveniently located close to the city center; due to the elevation change, walking to/from is best left to strong of heart. Overall a nice comfortable stay - my first choice for future visits to the area.
