Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Walking distance to the main train station and to shops and cultural events. The rooms were really large and comfortable, compared to the general room size in Europe. Would definitely make this my to go to hotel in Almere.
This room needs the walls to be cleaned. The toilet brush holder needs to emptied. The bathroom trash can is old and needs replacement. TV reception was poor with the hotel technician blaming it on the TV service provider. Too much noise from people slamming their room doors. The air vacuum caused by opening the halldoors caused noise from our door.
no air circulation in room, it is almost impossible to breath, there are no windows in room and ac or ventilation system did not work also it was hotter in the room then outside by 5 deg c
Really good value for money compared to Amsterdam prices for accommodation. I was visiting family in Almere so it was perfect for my visit, really close to the train station and near shops and cafes. The hotel itself and staff were lovely. Has the basics you would expect and I was very impressed with the turn-down service - I thought that was a very nice touch. The breakfast is quite expensive for continental so I ate out at a local cafe in the mornings. The area itself doesn't feel the safest, there are definitely some dodgy people in the area so I was always aware of my surroundings and vigilant but never had any problems, as I was visiting family, I wasn't out and about alone very frequently.
Staff was very unhelpful. I work in a hotel myself and they come up with the worst excuses possible. I would not recommend this place for enjoyment. Furthermore it's quite disgusting, the lobby until the rooms and everything that will cross your path afterwards from glasses to cutlery 😬
I did not enjoy my stay at all. First of all, I could not pay with my Visa Card. The chair in my room was very dirty. I asked for an iron and an ironing board and they told me they don't have one available. In the evening they sent me a dirty iron which did not work properly, so I had to wear wrinkly clothes at work because I was on a business trip. I asked them nicely for a pair of slippers but they were not polite enough to deliver them to my room, I had to pick them up from reception. Also, no bathrobes! I would not recommend this hotel.
We've been refused at Breakfast although these were paid within the Booking. I had to contact the reception that confirmed it but did not pass on the info to the restaurant where we showed again and refused again !!!! Also I've been charged for 3 nights were we spent 2 nights only. Very arrogant personal !!!!
I have made a business booking for my colleague (who was born in Syria) at this hotel. At the reception he was asked to pay a deposit for the room (what??), check in took forever, the staff giggled behind his back and a security guard was called over, who then intimidated him. My colleague felt SO UNSAFE he cancelled the booking and had nowhere to stay anymore. When I just phoned the hotel to confirm we would get money back for the remaining days I mentioned the cancellation was done because the guest had felt unsafe at the reception desk the person I spoke to on the phone was totally casual and confirmed. I will NEVER book here again. Imagine making a guest feel unsafe at a hospitality venue, truly disgusting.
Great location and close to the heart of Almere. Barely a minute walk to Almere Centrum Train Station and Almere shopping center with 1000s of restaurants and cafe shops. The Hotel has such an amazing and friendly receptionists. The rooms are beautifully clean, neat and big. Really enjoyed my stay !
Had a lovely stay in a one-bedroom apartment. Room was huge, bathroom was huge, bedroom was huge! Beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in, was a shame we only stayed for one night. Hot plates took a bit to figure out and it would have been handy to have a washing machine. I would stay again
Located next to Almere station, and a World Trade Centre building. Trains direct via South station, from Schiphol (AMS) Airport, 28 mins, not around loop through Amsterdam. Obtain or top up yr Travel Chipkaart, for travel on ALL trains, trams, buses, metro Nationally! No time limits or expensive periods, just as travel should be. Try also to get a loaded debit Euros card, fewer places take cash, and ONLY major stores Credit cards. Check any card you bring is NOT classed as a Credit card here, options are running very low for everyday or small purchases, and cash is sparse used in NL's now. For tax free purchases, check in the store before to see if they participate in Global Blue, (Et al),where you will need yr passport at the store, to begin the store purchases. You can reach Amsterdam from Almere, within 16 mins by train, but the prices here are half than there. It is ideal to stay a little outside, but has all that you need without crowding as in Amstrd, to eat drink, shop, enjoy and relax. More people who stayed in the Capital before and seen done all they wish stay here. Within easy reach if you want to go there. But in Summer Season it is now over packed with people, hotel prices really double/ treble what they were Pre-Covid, and simply not worth it. It is a small city for so many crowding in and becoming less easy a place to spend time. In Almere, This hotel, is a High Rise Associated with USA Chain Best Western, More space if you select an apartment with separate living room, large Bathroom, looks v new and generally smart. Basic good size kitchenette, fridge, 2 plate Hob, which is useful; for longer stays. Great views out to Polder and Sea in distance, with the city reaches around. Opposite a Spar mini shop, with many sandwiches, hot toasted breads, coffee machine and whole good range of supermarket items, but small sized, so ideal for a few days. Or, Albert Hein mini store at station, for chilled foods, drinks, some basics handy. Plenty places to take a drink, eat meals or snacks within the city. You can buy and make yr own breakfast in the apnt, rather than an 18 Euros Breakfast here only til 9am! Plenty breakfast, lunch, anytime eat options to eat in the Centre 2 mins walk under train station. Housekeeping - However, the making of a bed is not hygienic, not covering the mattress with the sheet, no mattress cover, nor pillow case covers, the same. It means all guests sleep on the bare mattress and pillows all not covered properly. My Cosy Apnt for 2 , had 2 single duvets, open in the middle badly tucked into one side. It was quiet bizarre , impractical, not made up well. This does not comply with most basic hygiene requirements. Furniture looks nice, but not comfortable or soft, and all needs a steam clean to get rid of stains. Hairs on the furniture also. Housekeeping staff appear to be from East Europe, speak no english. abrupt, rude, no care or concern for guests, refuse to clean with you inside?!! They clearly give the impression they simply do not want to be doing this job, and it affects the guests experience negatively. Needs immediate attention! All indicates a poor Management standard as much basic hygiene negative, should be supervised to set standards of the basics. Managers need to check rooms daily to keep up standards. Clearly this is not done. Almere Centre does not have much tourism, a city started in 1975 now a city, full of Self Build properties on plots some reclaimed from sea.. It is a clever design as a New City should be, in an organised resident friendly Dutch way. Exceptionally clean everywhere, not the architecture of Amsterdam as all is new, but it is v unusual in design shapes! All centre is fully pedestrianised. Lots of International large stores, but not the crowds of Amstd, more space less crowded. A few large squares to eat and drink, pretty much covers all international foods, great places to relax, take a drink, eat Dutch interpretations of healthy foods. It is all v friendly,, accessible, safe and a good relaxed feel. Clearly a well run city. Lots of residences above stores and squares, fully integrated in daily life. If you want an adjacent place to stay near Amsterdam, ideal, but has its own appeal, and you find less reason to leave here, unless you specifically want to be confronted by double prices and crowded spaces. Here all costs half, in hotels and to eat and drink and caters for all you need. There are other hotels available around the centre here, but only a handful. **Some of the unspecific single line reviews on this hotel, naming people are HIGHLY suspicious, new, only 1 review. I would take them very lightly, as they are really generalistic and score the highest, affecting the overall rating. TA need to check these out more thoroughly. All my comments here, are honest and mere observations for you to make of what you will. When you leave Schiphol, if you are not an EU citizen, you can reclaim purchases you make ( not services), Part of yr tax / VAT back @ 22%, at Schiphol T3 Before you check in. You only get 11-15% but it is something you can benefit from. Items must NOT be used, shown to a customs desk end of T3 at Schiphol, and refunded at the next desk nearby. There is much to Explore in NL's, other cities, and travel around is great value by train, and not Pre-booked and as expensive as the UK! It truly is an integrated National transport system. So you can easily use trains from underneath Schiphol, go to places South and North, all over The Country. Rotterdam, The Hague are also worth a visit, but fly into Schiphol itself. Simply scan yr Chipkaart in and out using any transport Nationally!
The room was dirty (dirty couch had white stains and dust, a towel that had brown spots, hairs on the sheets, dirty toilet bowl). The air conditioning could not be controlled by guests and I was cold. I couldn't even turn it off as it would come back on. I asked for a heater, there were none and when I asked if I should just freeze, reception told me yes. You can do an online check-in - don't bother, you spend the same amount of time anyway at reception. I asked for an iron and ironing board. They were both dirty. I asked for a soap for one of my bathrooms and never got one. I sent photos of the things identified, no acknowledgement or apology was received . There's no conditioner or body lotion and you cannot buy it form reception. Also any other toiletries. There is a shop across the street. I am mentioning this as reception didn't bother to tell me, they just said they don't have any. Do check the opening hours. It's a shame, as the room design is not bad. One of the beds was moving if you barely touched it so not very stable. It is a pet friendly hotel which is cool, but they should clean pet hairs, they were everywhere (room, breakfast area). Oh and early in the morning staff was banging on the 15th floor. Good luck sleeping.
We stayed here for a trip to Floriade. First: got a quadruple room for 3 people, spacious and quiet. In spite of over 33 C the temperature in the room was good. Literally next to Floriade bus stop and train station. But sadly this was it with the positive review. Worst of all: Restaurant for breakfast. Not a SINGLE table was cleaned. Every day was a search for a table - not a free table but one that had been cleaned. Sprinkles, coffee stains, leftovers - never removed or touched. Also, one of our party had milk allergy. As required pr EU law any place serving food in the EU must either mark each dish with allergens or provide a list with all the food listed and the allergens (gluten, milk, lactose etc). No list found. Asked the serving staff, they had no idea what I was asking about. Didn´t matter much what I asked, because nobody spoke english anyway (or german - sadly I do not speak dutch). So only 2 of us could risk eating because of this. We went to complain at the front desk second day. "Sorry Sir, we will look into it". Nope. Same thing every day, until last day (saturday morning) when somebody actually did clean some tables. And finally some signs regarding food turned up - 2 signs stating "Halal - no pork". Hmmm....Makes you wonder doesn´t it? Otherwise I can say the same as some of the other reviewers. Nobody ever checking breakfast guests. Quality of food OK; but especially cheese was dry and probably been out to long. I went to complain on checkout, and told the checkout manager about the whole thing. She seemed sad to hear it, but now that I read other reviews from back in April and June I realize they probably do not care. 4 months, reviewed and still - nobody does anything. I also want to comment on the elevator system. As we were on the 2nd floor we wanted to take the stairs. But no - doors were locked. Not possible. Ok, we go with the elevators. This was quite a system. You press "going down" and immediately a lift signals "down arrow". Every 5 seconds "ding-dong" from somewhere until this lift arrow suddenly goes out - and so does the call button. Press again, wait, "ding-dong" multiple times. Finally lift arrives. But then the same lift signalling down now suddenly goes up...6 elevators, and it could take up to 10 minutes to actually get in one. I would say - stay away if you do not have business in Almere or are going to Floriade. Because of the location it can be tolerated, but otherwise - find somewhere else.
The hotel has a lot of positives; excellent location for visiting Floriade, transport links, good rooms and helpful staff. But! The breakfast was very poor, limited availability and low quality of food. No one checked to see if we had paid for breakfast, I suspect many may not have, and no one was preventing people filling carrier bags with food which probably accounted for the lack of availability. I received a refund for the cost of the breakfast. I cannot recommend staying at this hotel.
Booked this hotel for the Floriade exhibition. Room is standard but breakfast is below everything seen so far : choice rather limited, waiters don't fill up empty plates, the first morning the pancakes arrived when we left (after 30 minutes !), only 1 type of jam which isn't filled up when empty, you have to ask for bowls for your yoghurt, pastries (if any are presented, had none the second day) arrive late, cheese dried out at the edges, orange juice the 2nd day was very very watery and you couldn't drink it, after complaining at the reception on day 2. Housekeeping done only late in the afternoon = 4 pm ar the earliest ! Not acceptable that your room isn't done at a time you come back and want to take some rest before dinner. First time we had such a bad experience with BW.
While we were willing to sacrifice our standards somewhat for the convenience of staying near the Almere train station, we weren't prepared for what we were giving up. The spare room decor met expectations, in a pared-down Scandinavian Modern style, but the HVAC system didn't work well, and the drapes didn't block out the light from outside. The bed was fairly uncomfortable. The hotel staff were untrained and unmotivated (when you could find them at all). We reserved a double room that was provided only one towel. Getting a second was an ordeal (both nights) that required multiple requests/trips to the front desk. When we came down on the first morning to the breakfast room, all the tables were dirty. We had to clean one ourselves. Some tables were piled with used plates, napkins, and silverware, since numerous other guests had to do the same. The cheese and cold cuts provided weren't bad, but it was obvious they had been out for quite some time. (The edges having dried out.) The lobby pantry had a self-serve cash register that wasn't programmed for the items they were selling. Upon checking out, the desk clerk didn't ask how our stay was. He was obviously tired of the answers his guests gave him.
The location is very central. The rooms are spacious, shower, no bath. The hotel has a pool. The staff is friendly. The area around the hotel is under reconstruction, with roads closed and detours. Not all toiletries were refilled when we checked in. The wifi-code on the info system in the room was wrong (had to call reception for the right code, "yes we know, that still has to be changed"). Breakfast selection is not bad, average. A little more eye for detail would have given this sky scraper hotel in Almere city a 4 out of 5 score.
Almere is conveniently located 20 minutes on the train from Amsterdam centre. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from the train station in Almere and is a more affordable option than staying in central Amsterdam. Almere has plenty of good shops, bars and restaurants too! I would definitely stay here again - clean, new hotel with friendly staff.
Booked this based on many reviews and was a bit worried given that it's not a main city centre hotel but it's excellent. The room size is maybe a little small but perfectly adequate, modern, nice furniture etc, great big shower and bathroom, really lovely, safe, hangers, fridge, good TV all the usual stuff. Really quiet despite proximity to the station and literally is 20 minute by speedy, frequent train service to Amsterdam Central. Station is steps away from the hotel. Again, frequent service back from Amsterdam late into the night. Didn't eat in the hotel restaurant. We had breakfast at a nearby cafe which was great and set us up for the day. I would definitely recommend it for anyone visiting Amsterdam.
This is 4* hotel and it deserves all the praise! Everything was ok, stuff, cleanliness, comfort, the bathroom, everything. Hotel is across train station but you don't hear the noise. Insulation is excellent. The price is lower than the same hotel in Amsterdam. You need Amsterdam & Region Travel Ticket because you will use NS train to Amsterdam. You arrive in Amsterdam Central Station in 21 minutes. This is additional expense but the price for hotel + transport ticket is much lower than hotel in Amsterdam of the same category and quality. We have been 3 times yet in Amsterdam. And you can use those transport cards to visit places arround Amsterdam such as Zaandam (Chocolate town), Haarlem, Zandvoort at the sea, all by NS train.
Excellent rooms. Easy to get to Amsterdam and back on the train literally next door. Lots of food options very close by that are even open late. Halal food too. Loved our stay. Definitely recommend it
Excellent location right next to the train and bus stations and in the central of Almere. The Room is very spacious with a view, very modern and clean with all the basic things that you need for your stay.
We spent two nights there. The hotel is really good in an elegant neighborhood. The staff are very friendly. Their English is perfect. The rooms are very spacious and the breakfast buffet is OK. The hotel is 2 minutes away from the train station.
The room was so spacious, much larger than the average family size hotel room. It had coffee and tea facilities and a fridge in the room. Also a large bathroom but not bath. The hotel only offers breakfast and no room service. They do have a little self-serve convenience shop at reception that sells alcohol, coffee and snacks. There is also a bar next to the reception desk. The hotel is very busy with bus loads of tourists as it is a convenient stay for anyone wanting to visit Amsterdam. The central train station is basically right outside the hotel. There is a restaurant on site, called the Loetje, for lunch and dinners. Otherwise you are very close to Almere center to eat at any restaurant located there.
Hotel is new and clean. Steak at the Restaurant on the ground floor next to the hotel was also nice. It should be better if you can turn on and off the air conditioner manually. Hotel location is just in front of Almere Centrum. Very convenient to the Amsterdam and airport.
Great hotel, very clean, good value, perfect for staying close to Amsterdam for cheap . It's a 10 second walk to Almere Centrum and a 21 minute direct train ride to Amsterdam centraal. I have zero complaints, I really enjoyed my stay here.
Visited here for my friend's birthday for 2 nights. Convenient to public transportation (train and bus) as well as walking to several restaurants/bars. Everything around this area closes pretty early so be sure to account for that. It's about 25min train ride into Amsterdam Central. They gave me complimentary drinks and a great upgraded room with floor to ceiling windows. It was spacious and well-appointed. Only addition I would have liked is 24-hour room service since everything closes so early. Also, not the best location if you are wanting to be in the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam each day of trip. Will visit again if I'm back in Netherlands in the future!
We stayed here for 1 night on this trip but would definitely go back. The hotel is new and right next to the bus / train station. Our family room was amazing - very spacious and well equipped. It was also quiet and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was nice too. The staff were very helpful and polite and lovely with our children. It is an easy walk to the shops and restaurants. Almere is a short train ride from Amsterdam and the airport. I would certainly consider staying here and doing day trips to Amsterdam and the surrounding area, rather than staying in the centre of Amsterdam which is a little more expensive. They told us that they will be opening some self catering apartments in the hotel soon.
