« Good out of town hotel! »

We spent four nights at the hotel August 2016 and cannot really fault it. The room was spacious and comfortable with a large sofa, coffee table and good sized tv. Beds were superbly comfortable with fresh, clean bed linen and soft pillows. Shower was huge and very refreshing, whole bathroom was a good size, well maintained and spotlessly clean. Towels were changed and beds made daily. The hotel is in a good location for attractions in the Aalesund area without being in the town centre itself. This meant it was a very quiet place to stay with good views out to the mountains. There is also a roof terrace with chairs and tables and a bowling alley on the ground floor next to the reception area. Free on site parking and a couple of good grocery stores within easy walking distance. Breakfast was a reasonable selection of cooked foods, continental style cheese and meats, crackers, cereals, breads, juices, tea and coffee. I would stay there again and highly recommend it if you are looking for a good budget hotel that's cheaper and quieter than those in Ålesund Centre.

    « Friendly and Helpful »

Located just outside of Alesund (Spjelkavik) a couple of minutes off the E39. Found it to be the ideal spot to travel to and from whilst touring locally in the car. The staff were very knowledgeable about the area and provided suggestions of what to see and more importantly travelling times. (Road speeds are quite low and a cross between a UK A and B road but no dual carriageways). We really have to say a big thank you to the staff as we left all my clean shirts in the room after checkout and did not realise until our next stop 6 hours away in Lillehammer. Contacted them via email, and they could not have been more helpful by posting them onward for me to our stop in Sarpsborg just south of Oslo. The room was spacious clean with a smart TV, free internet and for the car... free parking. Breakfast offered a very good choice of buffet (meats, cheese, fruit, cerial etc). We would certainly recommend this hotel both for location and service.

« Book hotel for your stay in Alesund well in advance! »

I booked this hotel using website for €80.85. It was a forced choice because all the hotels in the Alesund city centre were booked for August 21 already more than one month ahead. The hotel is located in Spjelkavik about half an hour public bus ride from the Alesund bus station. One way ticket was around 40 NOK. The bus stop is some 100 metres from the hotel. It took me some time to find the hotel entrance because it was located on the back side of the building. It seemed that hotel was located in historical complex of earlier watermill buildings. On one hand it tried to use this as advantage on the other hand not always the use of modern construction materials allowed to save the old days feel. It was stated in the reservation that room has one twin bed. And it was one twin bed there. Narrow, still comfortable bed for one person. It looks like they use the hotel for conferences and that is why. The room had a bit of corridor feeling because of its lenght. The good thing about the hotel was that coffee, tee and pancake pan for making your all pancakes was available in the lobby round the clock. Also there are three supermarkets located very close to the hotel. The checkout took quite long because receptionist could not find my reservation for quite long time.

« Spacious rooms and great service. »

Positives: 1) Very, very spacious double room with a balcony. 2) Breakfast - included in the room price. The choice of food wasn't great, but sufficient. 3) Supper - included in the room price (only available during certain times of the year) and also free waffles in the evening. 4) Free WiFi - very good connection. 5) Free tea/coffee in the lobby, 24h a day. 6) Free parking. 7) Overall cleanliness of the room and bathroom. Negatives: 1) Location - about 15min by car from the city centre. 2) No kettle in the room. 3) No mini-fridge in the room.

« Dark room, boring breakfast »

Came here on business. The room was a bit dark, but with small couch and table. Not the best atmosphere. Lady in the reception was nice though. Breakfast was really boring with little fresh fruit etc. Will stay in Ålesund next time on business here.

« Comfortable, spacious and clean. »

This Hotel was part of a package for an event we attended with the Norwegian Fiat club. Quite honestly after our poor experience of the 4 Star Radisson in Lillehammer we arrived at this three star hotel fearing the worst. Well we needn't of worried. The hotel is modern and the room was bright, spacious and equipped with good quality furnishings, including a comfortable double bed. The only slight issue was with the shower, it would seemingly run out of water if you tried to shower in the morning. saying that though the Hotel was full to capacity and if you, like me, showered after breakfast everything was fine. We stayed here for four nights and wouldn't hesitate in staying again.

    « Norway »

Very nice Hotel, great breakfast, helpful staff. Nice location to get outside of the city and close to the highway. here are a few restaurants close by and as a bonus you get 20% off for staying at the best western. The area is very nice if you like to go for a walk at night and in Norway it is light out all night in the summer.
