Description

Discover the Best Western Golf d'Albon, situated in front of the Chateau de Senaud, only 30 meters away from the club-house and the restaurant. The first part of the hotel has 30 rooms and has been open since 2006. The rooms are very comfortable with bathroom, separated bath and shower, and separated toilets. Some of the bedrooms have a terrace with a magnificent view over the golf course. You can also enjoy an excellent breakfast and high quality food. On site there is a 27-hole golf course. Our hotel is easily accessible since we are located less than 10 minutes from the highway, halfway between Lyon and Valence and about two hours from the sea and the mountains. Enjoy your stay.

"bad experience"

only after booking we were told of the restaurant closure. On arriving the reception gave us a list of restaurants in the near. all but one were closed an they had no table free. We finished eating some junk food from a takeaway. The rooms might have been nice 30 years ago but needed repairs and a coat of paint, also the shower and toilet needed a good clean.Apart from the receptionist our stay was a total disaster

"Great hotel, rubbish restaurant."
Hayley P, 09 Août 2018

Ideal stopover to the south of France. Lovely hotel, really lovely staff AT THE HOTEL, lovely large, comfortable rooms......BUT, don't bother with the restaurant if you are British. Last year the restaurant was just rude, this year they excelled themselves!!! We were sat at a table for 30 minutes and had asked 3 times for menus. Eventually we were given 1 menu between 5 of us with only 2 set menus on it and no other choices. No orders for drinks taken ( unheard of at a ' normal' restaurant ) French people sat down after us and were served a whole variety of foods and drinks from a different menu before we were even shown a menu. Only reason, our nationality. I speak fluent French so it's not as if I didn't try to communicate.

"We did not like it"
Toni13, 13 Août 2017

We stopped for the night in the hotel. We did not like our stay. The hotel is ugly and neglected. It is what you expect in a third rate US motel, not a French country hotel. Our room was clean big ugly and umpractical. The pool was small ugly and neglected. The price for the room was way too high for what we got. The golf and the grounds seemed ok. We didnt play.

"Expected more"
JankanHH, 14 Juin 2017

We had a room with a outside sittingarea which could have been nice but the 2 chairs was very low and not easy for me to get up and down, I'm 67 years old. Room was quite big but A/C did turn off by itself several times. Shower and bathtub in the bathroom. But the shower we could not use as water was only hot, hot! Internet slow. Breakfast very basic. We had dinner the complete menu and we did choose differnent food both of us. Nice presented but not to our taste.

"A very different experience compared to our previous experience"

We last visited the Golf D'Albon a number of years ago before it became part of Best Western. Then we had a lovely stay and were particularly impressed by the restaurant. This time the restaurant was very disappointing. It had no ambience and we were underwhelmed by the food which, at best, can best be described as mediocre. We had to send one dish back because it was inedible, although it was rapidly replaced by an alternative. Maybe the chef had a bad day! However, the staff were very friendlly and efficient and we had a very nice greeting at reception when we arrived. The rooms are a decent size with a nice size bathroom although a little dated.

"A week of French flair."

I've started the week in high 28 degrees. Arrived at Golf d'Albon to find a room with: - Air conditioning. - Nice bathroom with everything. - Separated toilet. - Own little terrace outside at back of the room. - Free parking just outside. - Was able to watch the euro cup football matches easy and in HD, happy days ?? Check in and out was easy and quick, the room was properly equipped. Only hiccups: - The floor was carpeted and worn. - The Internet was very poor, didn't allow me to do some work. Little overpriced could have been better considering. The restaurant. I am not taking about finger food here. But real food made by a real chef and not the microwave or deep fried. Breakfast everything you wish for was available everyday single day, cake included. Dinner. Enjoy a well done menu, not too much and not too little to choose from, an indication that the dishes are made with fresh produce. Every dish I had was a proper well made dish with the taste and flavours that belong to it, excellent and I loved it. Staff: Everyone friendly, quick and professional, well done to all its staff members ?? Other comment. Be aware that if you're renting a car somewhere, the integrated navigation system might not find this place. I.e I had a Peugeot 208 brand new and its satnav couldn't find it. Personally I recommend the Hotel and the restaurant, with no hesitation.

"Comfortable. Great restaurant"
Carlos B, 29 Juillet 2015

We stayed in this hotel for one night en-route to the Provence. It was a wonderful surprise! Nice pool, nice rooms and excellent restaurant! This was exactly what we needed after a long day. The golf course is a plus. The hotel is a bit dated, but has 'charme'. Rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were special and unexpected!

"Nice but isolated"
ODD1970, 02 Février 2015

Stayed for a week on business and although the location and the restaurant were nice if a little dated, the main issue was the isolated nature of it, it made it difficult to walk out and see any of the surrounding culture or restaurants

"Great hotel with super friendly staff."
Jan H, 09 Décembre 2014

The Best Western Golf d'Albon is a great hotel. The rooms are very spacious with superb beds and the bathrooms are wide with a separate bath and rain shower. And the restaurant offers high quality food. But most of all, the staff is super friendly and always willing to help.

"A bit expensive but enjoyable"
Jocaloda, 15 Octobre 2014

They have a special price for the room, golf and gourmet dinners which was a bit high. The gastronomic menu didn't change from one day to another so there were few choices there unless you went a la carte. The presentation and food were very good though. The golf was interesting and challenging at times with barely anyone there. There are vestiges of ruins and a castle on the course which is always very special in Europe. There is a tiny pool but nice to refresh yourself in. The rooms all had balconies or terraces. They were quite comfortable and spacious. As this place is really in the middle of uninteresting countryside with not even a walk to take anyplace, I would only recommend it to golfers or passerbys for the meals.

"An interesting place to stay over"
KentHalfcentury, 07 Août 2014

Set in lovely grounds, though within earshot of the motorway, this golf course hotel is fairly anonymous. The reception is in the Golf Shop and the rooms are just in a separate block across a putting green. The room was fine (American-sized) and fairly clean. Dinner was good but overpriced and the staff were a little offhand (maybe if we played golf...!). Breakfast was not good - the pastries were burnt and the the previous evening's raspberry gateau was available, but unappealing. It was a convenient resting place on out journey but one we would not necessarily return to.
