"Lovely"

We stayed here for three nights and had a lovely time! The rooms were clean, modern, tidy and overall very comfortable. The cleaners were professional and hard working. Breakfast was delicious! Plenty of choice for everyone including fresh fruit, cereal, breads, meat, cake, yogurts and even gluten free/dairy free options. Some of the guests were loud but this is not the hotels fault. Reception staff were friendly and always happy to help when my parents deactivated their room card a few times. The reception staff have some wonderful recommendations for eating out. There's also a restaurant at the hotel but we didn't try it. Great base for exploring the area, even though it's situated on the side of the road, you do not hear traffic.

"Excellent hotel value in northern Italy for guests with automobiles"

I recently stayed at this hotel chosen by a company that hosted me. I was very pleasantly surprised at its quality in many ways. It's quite new and very clean, also with lovely views of the Italian Alps to the north and the surrounding countryside, since it is located on top of a hill. The grounds are spacious and tranquil. The staff is very helpful and friendly and completely conversant with English. The head hostess at the restaurant and breakfast buffet in particular is a true treasure of this property. She is always watchful to ensure good service for the guests and possesses a type of friendly, joking personality that Americans love. I personally witnessed her speaking to guests in English, French, and German. The food at the restaurant is quite good and not at all overpriced. An excellent breakfast buffet is included. The location is somewhat remote and definitely not practical without an automobile, but is very family friendly because of the large number of guests who do visit with automobiles. Since it is in a small Italian town that is not in itself a tourist destination, it is a very safe place for children and a very quiet place for everyone. I was gratified to see a large number of families present at the breakfast buffet from a diverse mix of nationalities and ethnicities. Everyone was treated very well. I am puzzled by an earlier reviewer's complaint about the towels. They do have approximations of the small wash cloths that are so difficult for Americans to find in European hotels, and there is no problem with absorbancy. I don't believe that the earlier reviewer understood that they are thinner than terry-cloth towels because they are made of a completely different kind of material. They are not inferior towels at all. I was grateful not to have to deal with a tub, rather a walk-in shower in the bathroom attached to my room. The room rates are quite moderate, undoubtedly because the property is located in a remote town. As long as one has an automobile at one's disposal, the location is quite convenient to vast areas of northern Italy, including Milan and the lakes. This property is much to be recommended.

"Very nice place but a little out of the way."

Very nice place but a little out of the way. Our plan was to use it as a home base to visit Como, Belagio, etc. Unfortunately some stupid kid hit our rental car and we were stranded at the hotel. The staff was absolutely wonderful in helping us make calls and getting us food when everything was closed.

"Disappointing"

Check in was fast. Standard room, nothing fancy. I've never actually seen bath towels that thin... Wanted to go to the sauna, it wasn't working. We were told that probably some guests turned it off. Went back the next morning, it was still turned off. We asked for some ice and a new box of tissues(the box in the room was empty). We asked again after half an hour because they forgot. They brought us plenty of ice in a bag and what seemed like a box filled up with crumpled up and used tissues... totally disgusting since they actually tried to explain that that's normal. No veggies for breakfast, but they did give us some tomatoes when requested. Definitely not an experience that we want to repeat.

"Small room"

Stayed at this hotel in a room where there where 2 beds without space to walk. The room was average for a couple bed but not for a extra bed. The brakfast was normal and the restaurant took much time to serve. Very clean and friendly

Spent two lovely night in this delightful hotel set up high on a hill. Lovely outdoor patio with fantastic view of the lake. Delicious breakfast included in our stay. Our room was clean and well appointed. The service staff was very kind.

"Okay for a night or two"

MsMegane, Adelaide, Australia 05/09/2018

Spent 1 night in a standard twin bedded room. The room was basic and clean. The beds were clean and comfortable besides the blanket / sheet bedding combo which I didn't like. Quiet location at night. Although the room and bathroom had clearly been updated in recent time, things were looking a bit tired, chipped and damaged in the room. The shower alcove was inconveniently small and tight to move around in (I'm skinny). Breakfast was a bit light on, I didn't find there was much variety. The breakfast room was bright and airy and had a lovely view. All the staff we encountered were very friendly, particularly at reception. I found access to the hotel premises entry, to reception and to all the various car parking spots around the hotel very confusing initially. Ok for a night or two.

"good hotel"

jaoxi2015, Hualien, Taiwan 08/08/2018

good hotel, private garage reachable directly from the room we don't like this:1) bathroom without window and without fan! 2) long time waiting for dinner, too much! and the waiters don't know (or pretend they don't know) what is includeed in our coupon and what is extra 3) they try too give us extra (from the bar) for breakfast when al is includeed in the buffet

"Awful breakfast and coffee."

Cydir_cv8, Kenilworth, United Kingdom 09/05/2018

The pictures are not accurate. The breakfast consisted of plain white bread and horrible scrambled eggs (I couldn't eat). You don't get those fresh fruits and cakes that are advertised in the pictures. The waiters constantly carrying around plates, I don't know why, they are not interested in serving you need to work to get their attention to ask for a coffee!!! And I suggest you do as the coffee from the machine is Nescafe soluble coffee! The rooms are OK, basic best western. People were noisy when they were walking through the corridor. We were in the ground floor. Also a big group of teenagers were there probably for a school trip. In the evening they were all set in front of the hotel smoking. The area around is very nice. Elvis restaurant found nearby above a supermarket very good value. In overall, I definitely suggest not to get breakfast if you have to stay in this hotel, and only use it as a base as the price is not bad. If I go again I would rather stay downtown Como in a rental apartment.

Dear Guest, thank you for the time spent to write us your review, we always accept suggestions in order to improve our service. Regarding our breakfast, probably it is not assembled in the same way shown in the picture, but still there is a vast choice of fresh cakes, croissants, bread, several types of cereals, milk, fresh cuts and so on. Scrambled eggs as well, and I am really sorry that you did not like them, but we did not have any complaint about, please next time let us know immediately. The same day of your permanence we had a big group of students passing by for the night, I understand they may had procured noisy and kept the restaurant's staff over busy and for this reason they did not give the most attention to everyone , I apologize for the inconvenience but still we hope to have you again our welcome guests for the future and have a drink together. The management

"Just ok"

Stay here on Sept 12 2017 with my mom. The hotel over all is nice outside and lobby areas, but, the room was minimalistic. No artwork, needed a paint job and the bed sunk in the middle. The breakfast was not that great either. Ok, if you like powdered, watery eggs. Sooo not Italian. The hotel is very modern for the area and the new parking layout is weird. Good thing it was just an overnight stay. I suggest the Heidi bed and breakfast across the road (hidden), if you're ever in the Lake Como area.

"Very nice hotel, nearly excellent"

We were travelling as a group and stayed one night. The hotel is on the side of a hill so the layout is a bit quirky but once you get used to it, not really a problem. Reception was efficient and friendly. Our room was very good, both in terms of size and cleanliness. Excellent bathroom. Good to be able to get live Italian football on the room tv. Room was quiet. Dinner fine, not brilliant but then when you travel as a group, you have to accept that meals have to be prepared for a large number at the same time and this restricts the possible choices of meal. A couple of minor criticisms. One was the bar, which is small and not all that well stocked. Pity because the barman was cheery and hard working. The other was the 'second class' breakfast. As a group, we were shepherded into a separate area for breakfast, with our choices limited, compared to the 'normal' guests who had a wider choice of items. To save a few cents, this is a false economy.

"Monza F1 Trip"

Joiner57, Stockton on Tees 17/09/2017

Room looked recently refurbished as was shower room but tiles over painted and paint already starting to chip off will be interesting to see what it looks like next year. There was also a rug placed under the beds up to the wall at the foot of the beds but one corner was right at the much walked point around bed/desk/wc and we kept tripping over its slightly raised corner. Breakfast mostly continental with cereal, cold meats yogurt fruit etc but they did have streaky bacon, garlic sausage and scrambled eggs as well as Hard Boiled eggs, two types of juice, teas, coffee out of pump flask containers which was really strong and not to everyone's liking. We never ate in restaurant and there was a lack of menus around bar or in rooms to tempt you to try, we did ask and the answer was "you need to go in restaurant for a menu". There is a good restaurant "Elvis" in Albavilla above the large supermarket on the roundabout which is approx 1 mile away up the road from hotel front entrance. Location its a bit on its own but as far as other places to eat/drink but it's ok if you like views of mountains and lake but it's not Lake Como as some other reviewers seem to think.

"Fantastic stay in renovated hotel"

506Christopher1, Pinner 15/08/2017

This hotel was recently renovated and we were not sure what to expect because the reviews of the old hotel are mixed with the new reviews. We had a fantastic stay!! The hotel location is perfect if you are with a car. You can get reach the towns of Como and Lecco very easily. There are a number of restaurants in the radius and one at the hotel. From the front of the hotel (entrance terrace with seats, reception area, bar area), you can see for miles towards the hills and water of the Como region. The staff are dedicated, especially one at reception and one in the restaurant who do their very best to make your stay run smoothly. There is a lot of choice at breakfast and well stocked (croissants and cakes, fruit, meats, yogurt, cheese, bread, cereal, coffee, juice). The breakfast area is not crowded. You either sit in the restaurant or beside the food (some tables with a view). Rooms are fresh and have a modern design. Air con worked fine. Probably one or two issues on attention to detail (a few things missed by housekeeping during the week), but very happy overall. There is a nice bar area for a casual drink and you can also sit on the terrace with the view.

"Excellent!"
