    « Noisy and dirty! P »

I stayed overnight with my disabled sister. We got a room in the back of the hotel that felt unsafe. When we tried to get a new room we were give a room right alongside of the pool. The room was musty and the pool area was very very loud. The bathroom flood was filthy. The walls were thin and I could here everything going on in the hallways. I asked people to keep their voices down and had to have the desk clerk intervene. It was by far the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. The check in was 45 minutes x 3 for me - checking in, asking for another room, and returning for the key.

« Thanks for the stay »

One night stay with our car staying for a week with no problems. We visited the bar the night before our flight out and the bartender was lovely. We also met other guests that were friendly and chatty. Our room was nothing special however it was clean and comfortable. The night time staff was wonderful, they put out cookies and were very helpful. I asked if breakfast would be open before our flight at 6 am and was told that no it would not be however they would have some breakfast items to go in the lobby. In the am the nasty woman on the desk said she could not find the key to the breakfast items nor to the drinks. She was downright nasty and she was asked by many guest nicely. Our driver to the airport both on the way over and on our way back were both wonderful. The downside to staying this close to the airport and to the road is you do hear the traffic and airplanes.

    « Can't do this anymore »

I've been a road warrior for the last 10 years, and as a Best Western Diamond Elite member, I want to earn points no matter where I travel. I spend a few days every month in Albany and up until a couple years ago stayed either here, or at the other Best Western on Western Ave depending on which hotel had the better price. A couple years ago the other BW deteriorated to the point where I couldn't stay there anymore and eventually closed. There's a new BW in Troy but the rates are sometimes high so I often stay here. I imagine this place in the 1970s with the pool, courtyard, and rooms were top notch, like a wedding destination type of place. This property has been so horribly neglected that I'm just not sure I can bring myself to stay here again after tonight. The front desk clerk was clueless, could not figure out how to check me in despite that fact that I've stayed here many times before. When she finally gave me the receipt to check in, my last name was misspelled, so maybe that was part of the problem. There are holes in the carpet which is in desperate need of replacement. The bathroom is also in need of an update. I'm pretty sure that the girl that was hanging out outside of Door 2 chain smoking and chatting up every guy walking by her was a hooker. The only thing that saves this hotel is the awesome bartender and the great food, although I question what the kitchen looks like based on the condition of the rest of the hotel.

« Lying awake to the sounds of pool people! »

An indoor pool right outside the guest rooms !!?? Kids out there until 9 p.m. at a hotel designed for airport travelers!!?? Adults swimming at 3 a.m. !!?? No one at front desk at 3a.m. when I tried to call and complain about the noise!!??

    « Great stay - 4 rooms, 8 guests »

A group of us stayed here prior to departing the airport on an early flight. 4 rooms, 2 guests in each. All 8 of us agreed this was a very good value considering we could leave our cars on the lot for much less than airport parking. The staff was wonderful, providing an early light breakfast for us as we had to fly out before the usual start time of the breakfast. Shuttle was arranged so we could all get to the airport on time. Driver was great. Yes, the rooms do need updating. We had a few minor cosmetic things like chipped paint (not a big deal to us), but overall the room was fine. Good beds, clean and crisp linens. I must say our next stay was at a fancy hotel in Memphis and we had many more serious issues there with staff and the rooms. If you are super picky, find another hotel. There are some in the area for $200 a night. Maybe that is a better choice for you. For our dollar and a one night stay, the Best Western was just fine.

    « Tired, poor service »

I stayed here twice this month. I experienced issues during both stays. They weren't big one but they were annoyances. The hotel is convenient to the airport and there are many place to eat within walking distance and places to buy gas, if you need to refill your rental vehicle. The property itself is not in great shape it needs to be refurbished in many aspects. The staff didn't seem to know or do their jobs well. Check-ins and check-outs were less than smooth. I was sent to a room that was not even cleaned and the beds were still unmade. Many of the outlets in both rooms were unusable. I am not sure I will stay here again.

« Be ready to rough it. »

Rooms need paint and updating, bathrooms are tiny, and staff needs training, any issues won't be dealt with to help the customer at all. They will tell you sorry. As close to camping as ypu can get without the tent.

    « Don't go there. Seriously. »

The location was good, bu we had a terrible stay. The walls are paper thin and we can hear every single door that slams. The breakfast was not very good, but since it was free, I won't say much about it. The problem we had was that we found a mouse in our room, which we were least expecting in a hotel. The front desk advised us that they did have recent mice issues coming from outside. There was nothing that he could do because no other room was available and no one in charge was on site to take a decision. He asked us to come back, but did apologize so we let it go. We had to shove towels under the main door to make sure the mouse couldn't come in again. We went back in the morning, to an even unhelpful staff that told us the manager was not here yet and that for mice problems, the only thing they would or could do is apologize. Although the amenities weren't too bad, the contradictory attitude of the staff was unacceptable. The most ironic thing was finding a paper saying "we value our customers and would do anything to keep you satisfied, Please rate 9 or 10." How ironic. Please avoid if possible. Seriously.

    « A great Best Western »

This Best Western was outstanding. A great room, the food in the lounge was very good. The staff and service were great. The indoor pool is very nice and clean. Also, a good breakfast, with hot and cold items.

    « Don't stay here. Really - DON'T STAY HERE »

Honestly the WORST hotel experience of my life. As I write this at 2am, I can say that if you wanted to sleep this isn't the place for you. I have not slept more than 20 minutes at a pop without interruption. They apparently allow unchaperoned (or poorly chaperoned at best) groups of teenagers to occupy rooms who are yelling, running up and down the hallways, slamming doors, etc. After calling the front desk nothing changed. In the morning the night manager admitted that they had done nothing more than call the offending rooms and "got no answer". When I asked why they didn't go to the rooms they admitted that they were the sole employee for the overnight - no security or anyone else in a large hotel - unacceptable. Prime parking was packed due to them allowing people to leave their cars here long term and using the well lit parking at the front for it. This leaves overnight customers to park around the back/side of the building between long haul truckers which is really sketchy and dimly lit. Security swipe doors to enter building were broken, allowing anyone off the street to come into the building at will. No visible means of security - cameras or otherwise - inside OR outside the hotel. The room was small, but OK until I looked in the bathroom - crumbling mismatched drop ceiling, mold in the shower, bathtub looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks, and 1/4 of the inside of the bathroom door was missing - literally ripped off the door. Spend your money elsewhere.

    « BW Albany »

Convenient location to the airport is the best feature. Comfortable bed and nice staff. They could pay more attention to details like the outside appearance and clearing away clutter. Good enough, some people are more picky than I am.

« Worn out and worse than average »

It's time to revamp this motel. Everything looks worn out. Our tub faucet had a constant drip that had left a rust colored stain, the bathroom was extremely small, the beds were lumpy. Just not much positive to say I'm afraid. We didn't even bother to chance breakfast here but went on down the road to Grandma's restaurant.

very noisy rooms are dirty service is poor they don't change your sheets tub is stained and dirty. outlets don't work and I had to go ask how to get online there was no proper intstructions how to connect. You can clearly hear others conversations in the next room and having sex food service at lounge was poor

i did not like smell of smoke in lobby when i checked in and i heard the shower next door to me in the middle of the night, i cut myself in the middle of the night from a peice of metal sticking out from under the bed

    « Needs a face lift »

We weren't sure the sheets had been changed and our clock hadn't been turned to account for daylight savings time. There were several silver-dollar sized holes in the carpet and the wallboard was peeling in some areas. The shower had two temperatures, arctic or lava and I cant say the pillows were all that comfortable. On a positive note, the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. They answered questions politely and quickly. They seemed happy to work there. Overall this seemed more like a hotel that used to be nice and expensive but has since fallen into disrepair.

    « worst hotel ever »

went there taking my son down for corrections test and the rooms were all open didn't feel safe at all. fire alarm went off at about 4am no one told people to get out or checked to make sure everyone was out. left right after the all clear. was not impressed at all. there should of been better lighting at door #5 entrance and exit doors key on doors.

Where to begin...this was suppose to ba a quiet family weekend getaway to relax. Check in was after 3pm, we arrive at 545 room wasnt ready, she had no clue how long. Asked about at the pool and was told no. Threw papers at me, and rolled her eyes at me more times then i could count. waited til 7pm for our room. Front desk ckerk was nasty and rude, this lady shouldnt work with public! pool was freezing with a ton of routy foul language kids n no parent supervision. No wash clothes etc in room. There was no bath plug so my toddler couldnt bath. Will never stay again. Stay away!

« Good place a night or two »

Stopped by for a night on the way out of Albany Airport. (I'm 90 minutes from here) Had a good nights sleep on really firm mattress and got up to go. Missed Breakfast. Coming home in a snowstorm I called on the road from the airport and I got a room in 2 minutes. The second one was not as nice as the first, the shower did not drain and there was a really odd electrical system in this room. Turn off the switch at the door and all the outlets go out. Regardless, nice room. Slept well and breakfasted well in the morning. Told the desk staff about it and they were all ears and thanked me for letting them know. All I could do really. I'm not as picky as some people when it comes to the hotel thing. Good bed and a clean room is all I need to be happy. The breakfast was good enough to top it off well. Also, they parking was very good. I will use this hotel again next time and keep you all posted.

    2
    « Worth the price??? »

Not sure. We learned you could leave your car here for $20 and be taken to the airport on their shuttle. It was $100 less than the Marriott Courtyard so we figured it would be worth it. Maybe not. Our flight was cancelled so we were stuck in a snow storm for a second night in a shabby room with lumpy beds, ( one bed was literally lower than the other) lumpy pillows, a bathroom without a toilet roll holder. If you wanted to get a spoon for breakfast, you had to touch the other spoons in order to get one out. A big thing in flu season. I mentioned this to the attendant and she said she had to do this in order to get the spoons in the container. The next day they were the same. Forks were the same. I am a nurse at an Urgent Care and I can tell you this is a big deal unless you want to get sick. I took the spoon bin to the front desk and they were completely disinterested until I told them I would be including this in my review. I doubt we will try them again.

« No More Best Western For Me »

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past several years and have been getting increasingly dissatisfied each time. I was very disappointed with my stay this time. It was my last stay at this property. The room literally stank even before turning on the noisy air conditioner which also emitted a foul odor. I kept spraying my travel size Lysol in hopes that I would not have an asthma attack. The saving grace was being able to park our car there and the free shuttle to and from the airport. Luckily, there are other park and fly hotels nearby. In this case I definitely recommend paying a little more for a fresher and quieter room. Once they remodeled their lobby and breakfast area I thought maybe the rooms would soon follow, but unfortunately, not soon enough for me. The cookies at check-in are great, but not worth the price of a good night's sleep.

    « My stay overnight feb 25 feb 26 »

I had to go to Albany for the night and did not want to spend a lot of money so I booked the best western and after I booked read the reviews I have to say after reading them I felt a little nervous going but I figured I would give it a chance as it was only one night I have to say I was not bad for the price it was a good location checking in was quick and easy as for the room it was fine for an overnight stay nothing fancy it did look like there was some construction going but it was quite no noise the only thing was the pillows on the bed they were too small the pool area could have been a bit nicer it was very dark the breakfast was fine everything you need to start the day overall if you need an inexpensive play to stay overnight it was fine

    1
« Never in all my years of travel... »

We took a chance on this hotel after checking the reviews. We awoke this morning to find a mouse in our room. I have travelled up and down the east coast and NEVER had any rodent in my room. After that nothing else matters about the stay, and we will never go back.

    2
    « Not Again »

On the positive side, the staff was kind and the breakfast was satisfactory. We stayed here with others while attending a competition in Albany. Overall, we were not impressed. Be aware there is no elevator, the pool area was freezing and it was ?raining? ice water from the ceiling. One member had to be relocated because of soggy carpet and another one did not receive room service. This hotel will be on the NOT again list.

« Would not stay at this location again »

Would not stay at this hotel again. I usually stay at Best Western chains but the last few visits, they have really gone down hill. The usual one I stay at while in Albany ( which is close to my son's college) shut down?! I had a free night from reward points, so I found another one not to far. I called the rewards line to make the reservation and requested a room not by an elevator or entrance due to noise. I asked for something in the middle bc I also have a bad ankle and walking can sometimes be an issue. I know this is not on the hotel, but I did not receive a confirmation like i usually do, so I had to call to make sure the reservation was there. I advised I would be arriving around 3 ( check in is a 4 but they said it was on a Sunday and they were not filled so it would not be an issue ) I arrived around 3:30 and the first think I noticed was the parking lot was an icy mess. I understand it snows, but their parking lot looked like a plow went through it once and it was extremely slippery. The hotels adjacent and surrounding all had the lots cleared out. I also know it had not snowed in a few days up there. I went to the front desk and no one was there. A gentleman who I am assuming works in the hotel had to find someone. I gave my name and was advised my room was not ready. I explained I requested early check in when making the reservations and even confirmed that morning and was told it was not an issue. She then said she could give me another room. The hands me the key and tells me it is on the second floor. She proceeds to tel me I need to drive to another door where the stairs were. I asked where the elevator was, ( my son explained I had an injured ankle ) she says they do not have an elevator, and that she would have to give me again, a different room. I asked for one that I would not have to drive to another door. She gives me a key and says it is right down the hall. Yes it was, it was the very last door at the end of the hallway, by another door where I would have had to drive to. Next to a door which I asked NOT to be next to. I figured it was not a big deal since the hotel was pretty much empty there would not be a lot of traffic through there. I go into the room and it was either a room that had not been turned over yet by service for a new guest or someone was still staying in the room. The bed was not made, there were papers on the table and items in the refrigerator. I called the desk and she apologized and said she thought the room was done and to come back up to the desk and she would get me yet again another room and one that was closer. I walk back up again and she hands me another key. AGAIN, this was right next to an entrance / exit and right next to the stairs on the OTHER side of the hotel?! At this point I figured it was for only 1 night so I would just deal with it. The room itself was very run down. Rug had very noticeable stains and pulls in it. The blanket and runners on the bed were dirty too, had some sort of crust on it. ( when I went to the stores I bough Lysol and lysoled the room and bed) I went into the bathroom to freshen up and there was hair and dirt on the tub and on the floor under the sink area. I would NOT be taking a shower in their tub, it looked gross and dirty. The wall behind the toilet had been corroded and I guess part of it fell off. It was nearly impossible to close the door to the bathroom unless you cornered yourself between the sink and toilet. I left the room and almost got knocked out by the smell of marijuana in the hallway. I know it happens and it is not controllable but the smell was super strong. I saw an employee walking down the opposite hall and I said, might strong smell coming from over there, and he laughed saying yes it is, yes it is. I left the hotel for about 3 - 4 hours and when I returned I parked in the the back next to the door my room was at. The back of the building was even more slippery then the front. The doors were not lock and you did not need a key to enter the building, it looked as if the doors were actually broken bc they did not close all the way. I had to walk past about 4 guys smoking cigarettes right next to the door where the ashtrays were. Once I got into the room, it felt like I was included in their conversation bc they were literally standing at my window where my room was. Ath this point all I wanted to do was get some sleep. I put the heat up bc the room was pretty chilly, and went to find the DND sign for the door. I did not want to to woken early by house keeping. Of course there was not one. I walked up to the front desk and realized why the other employee didn;t care about the marijuana smell, the entire lobby reeked of it now. I let then women know I was not happy about where my room was, the issues that I was having and she asked if I wanted to switch rooms again. I told her no, I was unpacked and exhausted and just wanted to sleep in a little bit .She said she would write a note for housekeeping. I wanted to get a quick snack before going back into the room from the vending machine that was of course, not working. I did not want to use my credit card in the machine. The place to put dollars was not working and when I put the change in, it just fell to the bottom. I gave up and went to my room. The heat in the room was horrible, if i set it on low they heat would barley come out, I let it run for about 30 minutes this way, and when I put it on auto at 69 it became a sauna and would not shut off. I got a terrible nights sleep bc I was so uncomfortable. I was then woken pretty early by a delivery truck that was bringing things in the back door where my room was. Then around 8 or 9 I heard a huge thud and bang. I am not sure if they were working on the room or in that back area or if it was the delivery truck, but there was a wooden pallet that had been dropped or something right out my window. I went to grab some breakfast from their breakfast room, packed up and went to check out. The women at the desk didnt even ask how my stay was, asked my room and asked if I received a copy of my bill under the door ( which I did not ) It's sad bc Best Westerns used to have much better and higher standards when I first started staying at them. I travel a bit and like to stick to one hotel chain, guess it looks like I need to find a better one. I wasted my points and left un rested and aggravated!

    « Great place to Park/Sleep/Fly »

We appreciated that at this Hotel we were able to stay the night, leave our car and fly to our vacation. The clerk on duty when we arrived was kind enough to change our room to the first floor so we would not have to use the stairs. On our arrival home we were told the shuttle van was out of order, but the hotel had made arrangements with a taxi service to get us back to our car. We were very pleased with this Hotel.

« Winter Hotel in Albany »

When it is freezing cold outside and you need to catch a plane, Best Western Albany Airport Inn is a good place to stay. The staff are warm and friendly and the room temperature was cozy when I walked in. A hot breakfast and good coffee helped keep the cold away. I had to wait for family after check out and the lobby was comfortable with free coffee available too.

    3
« Very cold pool area »

Had booked 3 rooms under same name and initially had us on same floor but separated. Front desk was accommodating when it was pointed out that there were empty rooms near each other. I had made it clear at our arrival we were not in hurry for rooms. We were traveling with 7 children but the pool area was so cold you could not enjoy. Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly. Would not recommend if want to use pool. Will not stay here again

« Very nice hotel for the money »

Was very surprised how nice this hotel is. We usually stay at a Best Western in another part of the tri-cit area and this was nicer and quieter than where we usually. There are a multitude of restaurants to choose from. Plenty of shopping venues and more centrally located for our needs. Will certainly stay here again.

« being partially renovated is helping »

My wife and I stayed here for five nights to attend an event at the hotel. The lobby and breakfast area have been renovated; some rooms show signs of receiving a face lift. We saw two rooms. Our first room had a television and phone that did not work, as well as a wall mounted light with a wonky switch that caused it to constantly flicker. We asked to change rooms; the second room was better. Our room had two double beds, a bureau with two drawers, a fridge and a microwave; the flat screen television was on it. There were two tables in the room. One had a swivel chair while the other had two regular chairs and could be used for eating. The carpeting and furniture were a dark colour. Our room had stucco walls, which, IMO, do not give a clean appearance. The bathroom was reasonably clean, but needs renovation. The heating/cooling unit had a loud fan. There was no closet to hide things; coats hung out in the open. The carpeting in the public corridors seemed dirty to us. The breakfast variety was slightly above average for this sort of place; they did not service the exact same food every day. Quality of the food was on the better side of average.

« Double charged my filthy room with a tub that didn't drain »

I was not very impressed with this hotel. It certainly has fallen behind the standard that I expected for a Best Western Hotel. The room was dirty. I do not know the last time they vacuumed under the beds or moved any furniture to clean but it must have been a long time ago. The tub did not drain. I said something to the front end staff and she told me when a maintenance person comes in she will have him check it out. We were getting ready to leave the hotel and did not want to wait any longer so I let the front staff know we did not want anyone in our room while we were gone. I ended up getting the water to drain by holding the plug up until all the water was gone. Before checking out of the hotel my wife checked our checking account and the double charged our bill which caused an overdraft charge on my account. I talked to the manager who fixed it but said he was unable to do anything about the overdraft charge. I asked him about compensating us and he said he could give us 3,500 Reward points but nothing more. His frustration was being revealed by his tone of voice and how he communicated with me. I told him I did not think that was a fair compensation because not only was I overcharged and had a overdraft fee but it also effects the relationship between me and my bank. I asked for the manager and he said he was the manager. I was told nothing about logging my complaint with anyone else except Nusair Bawla. I was less than satisfied by this person and how he handled me and the situation.

    « a Best Western disappointment »

They seem to be remodeling, but give it another 7 months at least. There were no towels in the pool area and overhearing comments by other guests, towels were in short supply. This place needs plenty of updating.

    3
    « Needs serious updates »

Hotel is situated in the perfect place! Minutes from the airport, malls, and really any restaurant you can think of! Hotel staff is very friendly and the breakfast was decent. However I'm not sure about the rooms.... upon entering I was hit with this weird unrecognizable smell? Bathroom was kind of dirty. One of the ceiling tiles was a different color and the bath/shower was questionable on how clean it was. Honestly this place just needs to be updated bring in something new that none of the other hotels have.

    1
« Avoid at all costs »

My wife and I travel quite a bit and I have reviewed many hotels and restaurants over the years. Out west we have found Best Western to be an economical and comfortable choice. Shocked this hotel still has a BW designation. Reserved because close to airport and wanted to take advantage of their Stay N' Fly Program. Place looked pretty dodgy when we drove up, but checked in, Hallway carpets filthy and no elevator to the 2nd floor so we had to lug our luggage up a flight of stairs. Wife needed a toilet on our arrival and it immediately backed up and overflowed all over the bathroom floor. Immediately checked out. Has been "under modernization" for almost 2 years now with much work still to be done. Best option probably to go to bankruptcy and be razed.

    « Don't Stay Here »

Don't stay in this dump. My husband and I stay here last week. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The manager told us that the room should not have been rented out because it was in need of repair. Not only would they not give us our money back they charged us twice for the room.

    4
    « A Bit Retro »

This hotel is older and needed updating is happening. The rooms are large and clean, hotel lacks an elevator, staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast is included and goes beyond standard "continental" fare. The shuttle driver was very helpful to another couple we were meeting. A desk clerk saw I had 2 bags and knew my room number so whisked the large bag away and up the stairs.

    2
« In need of renovation »

Stayed here the past weekend Nov 11/12 and this entire hotel needs refreshing . First off it's hard to get past the smell of moth balls as soon as you walk in . The rooms could have been a little cleaner , lots of dust around the bed and walls . Tub floor was cracked and the doors shut very loudly . It was a one night stay so we dealt with it , but never again .

Hotel under renovations. Completed areas are quite attractive. If up to date decor is your thing, you may be disappointed. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Enjoyed pool. Delicious breakfast. Close to I-87 and airport less than five minutes away.

« OK PlACE.... Great Breakfast »

We had a baby shower to go to in the area. The hotel room was fine, the bathroom could not fit two people at the same time. Shower was fine. The breakfast was very good, pancakes, waffles, cereal, hot and cold, coffee tea juice muffins etc etc. for one night things were OK.

    « Nice hotel »

The stay over all was fine. Rather grumpy receptionist and the halls were too noisy with people that talked loudly and slammed doors. Room were clean, bed was comfortable - had a microwave and fridge in room too. Shuttle bus to airport runs every 15 min!

« Great location when flying the next day »

Sits in the middle of Wolf road where you can get to any restaurants and a easy shuttle to the airport. Great pool right off of the room for my Grandson did enjoy and manager on duty left the pool open for us to use as long as we were considerate of other guest thank you.

Hotel is under construction in front of building. Could not hear the speakers in my meeting due to construction noise. They could have moved us to another area to get away from noise. The bathroom in my room was disgusting. A permanent dirt ring in the toilet, mold in the tub grout really turned me off to the room.

« The Place to stay near Albany Airport »

The Albany Airport Best Western is the best place to stay near the Albany Airport. Convenient to the many restaurants on Wolf Road and the two shopping malls in the Albany area. We really appreciate the 24-7 coffee availability in the lobby and the cookies at the from desk each evening. Only downer, I don't like the small pillows!

« This hotel should be shut down... »

The hotel is at best a broken down motel. 1) It was simply filthy. The toilet was stained with feces and the stairs had spider webs. Staff could not clean; "no cleaners here now". Pet hair in rooms. (Sales office renovated though) 2) The restaurant was closed, room service did not exist. 3) Precarious scaffolding blocking hotel entry, The services were not as advertised. I telephoned both the 1-800 reservations and actual hotel desk in advance of my stay to ask about the restaurant, etc. I was point blank lied to. The biggest plus - the staff were kind and aware of the problems. They were simply not educated or empowered to fix their situation. They all really need a better job.

    4
    « Convenient airport shuttle »

Dated but clean, comfortable, and fair price. Friendly airport shuttle service. At the front desk Dee was very professional and helpful. She managed to juggle the demands of multiple requests and duties in a courteous and efficient manner at a time when it seemed like more staff help was needed but unavailable.

    « Great Value »

The hotel was clean and comfortable, especially for the price. The bed was great and I slept well despite severe arthritis. I'm disabled and needed an ADA accessible room. My room had a bathtub with grab bars which I could manage, but it might be difficult for somebody with less function in their legs than I have. Travelers with disabilities should be aware that there's no elevator, so insist on a first floor room. Free W-Fi is advertised, but I couldn't connect my Kindle. The breakfast was a little better than the standard motel fare.

    « Construction,Not Clean,No Customer Service »

Sitting in my room steaming as just been an all around horrible stay. Room was not clean arrived to see the hotel is having major construction. Called and spoke with someone prior to arrival and no mention of the major construction being done.. Room is dirty hair in the shower and in bathroom. Staff was very rude and seemed pre occupied with everything but my needs. When approached desk staff was told nothing they could do at this hour. Could of slept in my car and saved 100 dollars never again. Constant business traveler and will be taking my stay somewhere else...

    « Find someplace else »

Hotel needs a major overhaul, the shower drain was slow to drain nothing like standing in a foot of water while you try to take a shower . The WiFi did not work at any point during our entire stay. They're doing construction on the hotel at this time , but it looks like they're just trying to clean up the outside nothing to the inside . The 2 rooms we had were well-worn and way outdated. With paper thin walls , doors that barely closed without really forcing them. Curtain valance was ripped off leaving just a peice of wood screwed to ceiling . One room we had we were placed next to the pool area so our room was basically a tropical rainforest.loud guests making noise all night in common halls , One member of group called it the worst western . Not good , never again .

    2
    « Needs a complete overhaul »

I was in town for a convention so there wasn't much availability. This hotel is old and needs a complete overhaul. If you need somewhere to stay just for an overnight and there isn't any availability anywhere else then stay hear. The staff are very friendly and accomodating. If they remodeled the hotel inside and out it would be a lot better. My room smelled like mold (room 157). I was only there for 1 night or I would have went to the Marriott nearby.

« DO NOT STAY HERE WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER »

The same day I checked out of this hotel I called them back and said I left an item in the drawer next to the towels. After the incompetent staff giving me the run around for about 2 hours I finally decided to walk over. Now they're telling me they don't have my things and I need to wait until Tomorrow because the house keeper left at 4:30 but I called twice before 4:30 and got the run around both times. I just checked out literally a few hours ago now all of a sudden my things just vanished i deeply regret forgetting to check the drawers before leaving but I still should not have to worry about THE HOUSEKEEPERS STEALING!!!!!!! I would NEVER STAY HERE again! My Victoria secret bottoms were worth $65 and the top from torrid was about $59 I'm beyond upset with the incompetence and lack of professionalism These people have. I WOULD NEVER COME BACK AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Do not stay here

    « Not bad »

To be fair, the hotel is under renovation, so there are a number of issues--security being one of them. The staff is nice. There are cookies in the evening. Internet is reliable. Plenty of parking. Easy access to airport.

    3
    « This hotel j*u*s*t misses »

This hotel would like reviewers to fill out their guest ratings with a "9" or "10" grade, but we just couldn't give it that high a grade despite many plusses, such as: TWO desks! ... a very large "mini" fridge (almost half the size as a regular fridge) ... microwave ... spacious room ... good, free WiFi ... beautiful pool area ... free breakfast in a very nice room, lots of variety (eggs, sausage, pancakes, waffles, potatoes, sweet rolls, oatmeal, and more) ... lots of bathroom counter space ... nice staff ... plenty of free parking. But there were some negatives: bed mattresses were uncomfortable ... our room had a badly stained ceiling tile in the bathroom ... carpets are old and stained ... they give you 4 pillows, but they're all small. Summary: this motel is off to a good start, and the four negative items listed are all correctable.

    2
    « Dissatisfied with accommodations »

The room we stayed in AND family stayed in on a different floor had a toxic odor that would not go away. The A/C fan was loud with cold air blowing on the bed only 4 feet away -- no way to change air direction. The bathroom needed a thorough cleaning with bleach. The internet was not secured with a password. I will not stay there again.

    2
    « Look Elsewhere »

We selected this location since it was located close to the airport and restaurants that we enjoy - I wish we would have kept looking. We arrived to find that there are no elevators, you have to drag your own luggage up the filthy stairs to get to the second floor. Upon opening the door we were hit with an obnoxious smell - neither of us could tell what it was but we propped the door open for awhile and it seemed to help. The walls have a strange 3D wave similar to the 60's - 70's decor. Two lights didn't work in the room and the flight pattern for the airport is directly over this hotel so you can hear them as they pass over. The biggest issue we had was the bathroom - mold everywhere in the grout and around the tub - if they would take the time to use a little bleach and a toothbrush it wouldn't take 5 minutes to clean it up - photos posted to show how gross it is. Another issue is the vent fan in the bathroom was filthy and loose, whenever you turned the vent on it shook and dust & dirt fell out - photos posted. I stood on the toilet and wiped one of the grooves and it was horrible. They really need to do a more thorough job of cleaning. It is just not clean, dirty carpets, mold in the bathroom, dirt & years of dust in the vent fan and odor in the room. There were even stains on the comforter - also lacked enough outlets to plug in cell phones and Cpap machine - we had to unplug the lamps so we could plug in our cpap and phones. This is not up to normal Best Western Standards.

    « Best Western Albany/Colonie, NY »

Motel allows dogs. Sandwiched between I 87 and Albany Airport. noise is a negative factor. Staff were helpful and room was clean. Any stay in New York State is bound to be expensive. This motel has many amenities but is questionable for an overnight stay when traveling to a distant destination. Easy access to interstate though.

    2
    « Room wasn't clean. Over deodorized »

The room was heavily deodorized as if to mask an underlying scent. I had two small dogs with me so I felt as if this was a pet specific room. I didn't feel I could remove my shoes and be comfortable. Very dated and room needs a deep cleaning. Breakfast buffet was ok but nothing special. Staff not overly friendly.

    2
« Below Best Western Standards »

This hotel is far below BW standards. 1970's hotel (motel) that did not have the proper renovations since its construction. However, staff is helpful and breakfast was good with a lot of choices. Please refer to another BW hotel in the Albany area for a stay.

    « So-So Hotel »

The toilet bowl had a large circular stain in the bowl, staining on rugs and lack of outlets. Breakfast was decent +/-. Staff was fine. Overall so-so, but acceptable for the price and convenience to the Albany Airport.

« An old hotel with updates »

The hotel is a good value for the area but badly in need of more updating to keep it competitive. The lobby is modern and welcoming. The bed, fridge, microwave and TV are all new and as good as it gets. However the faux stone walls of the room betray the age of the hotel - it looks like they came straight from the lair of a James Bond villain. The shower was a little funky, but once I got the water on, it stayed hot with good pressure. I could smell what I assume was the pool in my room, but this was cleared up with the fan.

This was a good location to stay for a quick visit to Albany as well as going into Vermont. Beds were comfortable and the room was pleasant. We would stay there again if we were in Albany again. The breakfast was good and any staff we came upon were very nice and helpful.

« very convenient , comfortable, priced right »

Very close to the airport, great rates with breakfast! We arrived late (1:30AM) due to being the last plane into Albany airport. The night clerk at the hotel was very friendly and helpful getting us checked in and assisting us with getting a shuttle back to the airport the following morning!

    « easy airport access »

Rooms were clean. TV remote didn't work, so they had to reprogram it. There was a doorway to each room on either side of our room, and you really could hear the people talking in the next room. Also, when the people in the other rooms used their bathroom, it was noisy.

« On the trip home. »

Let me first say, thank you to every staff member who worked during our brief stay; you have an exceptionally pleasant and professional group. We were pleased with our stay, the room was clean but a little worn. Nothing that is not to be excepted for a mid grade hotel. The linens were in good condition and the comfortable. The only cosmetic recommendations are to pay attention to stained ceiling tiles, they were in the bathroom and along the hallways, have housekeeping pay more attention to bathroom floor, as dark tile tends to show spots and appears not well cleaned and to have ice machines that work. Finally it really is your staff that allows me to give this 4 rating, they are friendly, helpful and engaging.

    2
    « Poor Experience »

My husband & I have been BW members for many years, Unfortunately the Albany location has poor customer service, no 24 hr shuttle as we were advised when booking, poor hotel conditions in general....not that clean, in disrepair over long tine use, needs to be updated and staff does not care about guests. cares or concerns.

« Going back to Florida »

I had to change my reservation due to the hurricane in Florida and the staff was very helpful. I use a walker so I was able to get a room on the first floor and was offered assistance during my stay. Even the handymen held doors etc. for me. It is easy to find and close to the airport with a reasonable price. Clean and neat with a nice breakfast. I enjoyed myself except for the carpenter that started hammering at 8:00 am.

    « Worst Ever Experience »

We checked in last Saturday (Sept 16, 2017). The room initially given to us had a very strong smell of chemical detergent. We thought the smell would eventually disappear and would be okay. But, the chemical smell stayed very strong and started to give us a headache. We could not sleep and called the front desk for a room change. They moved us to a different room and the new room did not have a chemical smell. Since it was already very late night, we immediately went to bed and slept. We were so shocked when we got up in the following morning. The bathroom sink was full of vomit somebody threw up. It has apparently been left there quite awhile because it was dried up in the sink. The bathroom was full of a disgusting smell of somebody's vomit, which we did not know overnight while we were sleeping. We complained about it at the front desk. The front desk person told me that they could only give us 50% discount on our payment. We will never go back to Best Western, every again. Francis from Boston

    « Nice Hotel »

I stayed here for one night on a recent business trip. The hotel has had some renovations but the rooms could use some updating. The bed was very comfortable. My room had an access to the pool area. That would be nice if you were traveling with kids. I did not eat here but had a cocktail in the lounge which was nice. There are several restaurants close by.

    « Nice but Tired »

Nice hotel, great location with nearby shopping and good restaurants. Kept clean by staff and management, but it is really looking rough around the edges. Desperately in need of an upgrade. worn out and dated decor, but still valiantly kept clean by hotel staff. Mechanicals such as plumbing and A/C are running but not well, carpeting dated and wearing thin. But still a comfortable place to stay. Breakfast fair pretty good with waffle and pancake machines, well stocked with assorted breads, bagels, and accoutrements. Nice indoor pool with retractable roof.

    « Five Nights »

This is a hotel shorted by its age, keeping up with the times seems to be the issue here, investments in the property have taken place, more to do. To include upgraded tech for the front desk, service personel and the breakfest buffett.

This is a big place with long hallways. Overall ok, could use some updating done to the hallway and rooms. After checking in we found the AC on 60 in our room and the room had an unpleasant odor. We turned up the temperature and just ran the fan which helped with the odor. Room and bathroom are dated but clean. The provided breakfast was ok, the ham was good.

« Great Experience at Bestwestern Albany, NY »

I arrived at the airport. Was looking to grab a Uber or taxi to hotel and couldn't find one. Didn't think about shuttle, then I got the number from information desk inside airport. Called the hotel and they were there within 5 minutes. Easy, friendly checkin. Was happy with my room. Very comfortable. The courtesy shuttle even took me down to the mall and came back for me later. Definitely a positive experience!

« Outdated In Need Of Help »

I have written hundreds of reviews and take providing feedback seriously. I hope you find my review helpful. I booked this hotel at the last minute and will never stay here again. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is because the guy at the front desk was very friendly. Other than that, this hotel misses the mark in many ways. Pros Breakfast had some hot food and was okay. The bed was comfy albeit firm. The AC worked well. Cons? 1) No Elevator. Is this a hotel or motel? Hotels in 2017 should have an elevator. My room was on the second floor and after traveling all day, I expect a hotel to have a lift. 2) They have a fish bowl of money to solicit tips as you enter the breakfast area. The little table is directly in the path versus off to the side. If the hotel cannot pay a decent wage to the people working here, it speaks to the hotel's poor management. The fish bowl soliciting money right in the path is tacky at best, and a horrible sign of an under-paid and under-appreciated staff. 3) Breakfast room was too warm... It was about 20 degrees warmer than the rest of the hotel. 4) My shower's water pressure was weak. Who likes a wimpy shower? Not me! 5) There are no places to plug in your phone. Most modern hotels have places to plug in. I didn't bring a block so I had to charge my iPhone through the computer... very slow. 6) Carpeting looks old, faded and in poor shape. 7) Both my toilet and bathtub had a ring around the top from hard water. Looks bad. 8) They did not throw out my garbage twice after servicing the room. 9) Coffee in the breakfast room was watery and weak...

« Average hotel but better than average included breakfast. »

Hotel was fine but the air conditioner ran constantly and was very noisy. I was happy with the bed. The bathroom is very small so I wouldn't want to use it with more than 2 people in the room. The value is definitely in the breakfast. Was a nice variety of both hot and cold items.

« Rooms With Spiderwebs and all the dust you can breath »

Thanks to an airline when they canceled our return flight from ALB to PDX. They claimed that this was their best hotel available. Thank Goodness the sheets and towels were clean. The rest, truly forget it. This stay clearly showed how dirty a hotel room can be. The worst thing is that there was a letter signed by a manager to contact her first if there is a problem with the room. This certainly was the bad sign. Who has time to contact a manager after 10:30 PM, and after waiting at an airport for more than 6-hrs? On top we were leaving in less than 5-hrs from reaching the hotel. Never Again!

Good location, nice crew, had a few complaints but nothing major except that I do not smoke and was put in a smoking room. Near several decent restaurants, good parking, only about 8 miles to museum, archives and other pleasures, like Saratoga when races are on.

We needed a hotel for one night, close to the airport for a flight out at 6:15 a.m. This was perfect. Close to the airport, clean and with the added bonus of a bar! Very close to several restaurants. Friendly staff and our king bed was great!

« Good hotel but needs some improvements. »

I usually start reviewing a hotel as soon as I drive into the parking lot. I had a 5 star check in, no elevator so I went up I believe was the stairs to entrance 1. The carpets on the stairs made my rating go down to a 2!!! When I first arrived at my room the rating went up to a 4..I really like the room and the bed was good but when I opened the blinds one was torn pretty badly. I also found a few other minor problems...My rating went down to 2 again. I was really disappointed, with a few improvements this could be a 4 star hotel. After having a good checkout I gave the hotel 3 stars. The staff was really great.

    4
« Old but well kept. »

The rooms are older but well maintained and clean. The breakfast was very extensive with a good selection that changed daily and very good. The lobby was comfortable and the staff is friendly. We were able to visit with family in comfort. Coffee and tea and cookies available in the afternoon. The bar opens at night.

    « Seen better days »

The lobby, dining area and pool area were updated a couple years ago but our room hasn't been touched since the last time we were in Albany - almost 4 years ago. « Possitive Energy »

Great place to re-energize. The staff were amazing, even when things get a little slow at the end of the day, they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They are spot on when picking you up or getting you to the airport. It is clean, and you can tell they take pride in what they do.

    3
« Not a bad place if you catch a sale »

This is an old Motel 6 with minor inside renovations. 2 floors, no elevator. Make sure to ask if you have trouble carrying heavy suitcases or are disabled. The property inside was decently cleaned. It is true the mattresses are old. As soon as you enter the room you see the old mattresses all bowed in from wear-and-tear. The staff was more than pleasant but their training needs to be improved. We were given keys to a room and upon entering a woman ran into the bathroom in her towel! The next day half of the rooms got their keys deactivated by mistake. The desk clerk who checked us in was unfamiliar with certain procedures but happily a manager was on duty. He kept saying 'oh, I forgot to tell you about that....' There was a scaffolding right by the pool and it seemed the indoor pool water was not heated. The doors were not secure around various entrances. You didn't need a key, they were left open for anyone to come in. If you need to catch a flight out early and you can get a good price go for it, otherwise try for the Desmond!

« Great stay at the BW Albany airport »

Every one of the staff that I encountered was friendly, from the shuttle driver who picked me up at the airport at 11:30pm, to the guy at the front desk who checked me in, to the lady working at the breakfast area, to the young gal at the front desk upon my check out. This reflected well on the hotel, and told me that these employees cared about their work. When I got to my room, it was clean and cool (air con was running). I appreciated the unique wall design (see picture), which made this room different from the usual hotel room. Breakfast was excellent, and I encountered, for the first time in my life, a pancake making machine. Now, I love pancakes and technology, so combine the two and I'm a happy, happy man! You literally only had to push a button and then two pancakes would pop out of the machine! Cool! There was also an extensive array of breakfast food available, such as scrambled eggs, ham, cereals, bread, pastries, and fruits. Location was perfect since I was attending a conference at a nearby (much more expensive) hotel. I was also able to walk to nearby restaurants (Dunkin Donuts, China Buffet, Outback, and lots more) and the St. Francis Chapel (a chapel in a strip mall!) Overall a great place which I would highly recommend.

Shuttle from airport did not arrive to get us for one hour. When we finally got there, were given a room right off the pool, which was very noisy and smelled of chlorine. Took an additional hour to change rooms. Manager did not respond to messages and attempts to call.

« My go to hotel »

I somehow really like Best Western! This past stay, the room was renovated and comfortable but the bathtub was pretty bad! The bathtub had stains and the shower curtain had mold. A minor issue...it looked like they didn't vacuum the room before we got there because there were a few popcorn kernels left on the floor. Other than that, everything else was clean and good. Breakfast is amazing! The wall decor is neat and there is a lot of space to put sit around the room, work and eat :)

This hotel needs entire updating. The furniture is shabby.. linen is old, grey wrinkled and stained. Hall rugs need replacing. Tubs are stained and so are the curtains and mattresses. We did complain and given a different room that was only slightly improved... this is a 1 star hotel.

    « Mouse traps »

The location is great. Breakfast was decent. I had to rooms as I had 5 family members. Mouse traps were behind the television stand in both rooms. A vacuum cleaner was left outside our door for over a day. I can only assume that was because crackers were broken and all over the hallway. Both rooms had a strong odor of chemicals. Once that wore off the rooms had a musty smell. We did complain about the mouse traps to the front desk. They really didn't seem to care. They told us that they know they have a mouse problem and they are working on it. I would never stay here again.

The staff was unfriendly and made you feel like you were bothering them (requested extra pillows). Staff does not address noise problems when they are called in. Had to go to pool area at 11:15 to request 4 intoxicated people to please quiet down. They surprisingly packed up and went to their rooms, but no thanks to hotel staff.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff and a great value! Nice breakfast and pool-rooms are clean and beds comfy. Will stay here again! Great location-access to everything and there is a shuttle to the airport.

« Converient and affordable place to stay in the NY Capital District »

Convenient to Albany Airport, to restaurants and to two major shopping malls; convenient to the NY State Thruway, Northway and Interstate 90 to New England. Coffee available in the lobby all day and night and the front desk had a tray of the best home made cookies every evening.

The appearance of this hotel could be improved. Bathrooms need updating and repairs. Shower/tub did not drain. We did not report it as we didn't notice it until showering on the morning we were departing. The bathroom was also missing tiles, and the tub itself was stained. On the positive side, the beds and bedding were clean and comfortable. The hotel was quiet.

    « Airport Sleep, Park & Fly »

The best things about this hotel are: the friendly and helpful staff, it's proximity to the airport with shutte provided, and comfortable bed. It also has a nice pool area. The rooms are just OK with rather small bathrooms. It is an older hotel that looks as though it's undergoing some renovation. The hallway carpet really should be replaced and the window current liner in our room had had some black (mold?) spots on them. Hopefully, they will get around to replacing it. The staff was very nice with smiles and friendly service provided. Overall, for a quick 1 night stay prior to our flight it was fine.

« Good place to stay »

This is a good place to stay. I stay every year mostly because of the great older lady that does the breakfast. It is one of the best hotel breakfasts that I have ever had. The rooms are clean, but I think since the remodel several years ago the place is starting to show wear. Our sink was cracked, we had a hole in the carpet and the water pressure was bad. This is one of the best chaices for the money in the area.

    « Excellent staff...but »

The staff is what made the experience very enjoyable. Breakfast was outstanding, clean & many options. Price is good for the area. Numerous dining options surround the hotel. However, the physical facility is in need of numerous upgrades.

    « Don't Do it »

I try to always give good reviews, but this hotel was so terrible I had to give it a bad review. The staff and employees are extremely nice. The hotel itself is a hot mess. You walk in the doors and there is a stinch and smoke smell. The carpet on the stairs is disgusting, stained and nasty. My room had a stain on the curtain as if someone ran over the curtains with there car. A hole was in the wall by the door and the bathroom had paint missing on both sides of the sink as if someone had just pulled it off. The sheer curtain had so many holes in it that the sun came through the curtains as if I had them open. The carpet was stained. I was scheduled to stay at this hotel for three nights but checked out after the 1st night and checked into a different hotel due to how nasty the hotel was. The management and owners should be ashamed to have people stay at this hotel. That hotel needs a serious remodel and upgrade. I can't even say the cleaning staff needs to do better because how can you clean something that is un-cleanable. Management and owners should be ashamed to have people staying there.

    « Warm and Welcoming »

The staff at this hotel goes out of their way to be helpful, including opening doors and helping load/unload items from car. A clean, nice room and nice amenities hotel for use while traveling. Also good for a dog-friendly hotel.

    « Bowling tournament »

Excellent stay, The staff is above average in all they do, always smiling, bubbly and willing to go the extra mile for you. ie: taking the cart of luggage to your room, bring ice to your room when the ice machine broke, opening the doors to help you when leaving etc. The breakfast was great and they have something I have not seen at a hotel, an automatic pancake maker, cool. Am staying again in August for another tournament.

Comfortable bed, attentive staff, convenient location, delicious, varied breakfast. Restaurant food unacceptable, did not return after first meal. Better to have bar open earlier and serve sandwiches, with soft drinks.

    « Okay »

Nothing beyond ordinary here. Clean rooms, good breakfast. Weirdest wall decor I have ever seen, looks like a meringue pie sideways. No elevator to 2nd floor. No pool. Hot water was too hot - had to be careful not to get scalded.otherwise, it was a comfortable stay, good location to the airport, and worth a night or two.

not clean, horrible bed, no exhaust for bathroom, horrible air conditioning system and half of the lights in rooms were broken. Old fashioned rooms and it could definitely take an upgrade. will not stay here again.staff is very friendly though.

« MUCH Better than Expected! »

Despite age of motel, my room was clean and spacious with very comfortable bed. The pool looked bigger than most motels. I would've had it to myself if I'd brought a suit. I was there on a very quiet Tuesday- on a weekend with lots of families in residence, poolside rooms might be pretty noisy. Good breakfast with very friendly and helpful staff. Desk staff were attentive also. I'd definitely stay at this motel next time I use Albany airport.

« One night was fine »

Stayed here before an early morning flight. Hotel is old but has some updates. It is clean which is a major plus but the decor and building itself needs to be renovated. The walls are paper thin and we unfortunately heard the folks next to us, for way too long and well into the evening. Quite unpleasant considering we had a 4 am wake up. It seemed like there was some shady stuff going on with some guests around he property which made us wish we had stayed elsewhere but for one night it was overall okay. Staff is nice. Shuttle to airport is efficient. With many other hotel options in the area we would probably choose to stay at a newer, quieter property.

« Good value for the price »

If you're looking for a place to stay that's close to Albany Airport, restaurants , and great shopping, I would highly recommend the Best Western Albany Airport. The rooms are not luxurious but they are clean, comfortable and roomy. The breakfast has a number of items to choose from and is included in the room price. The rates are very reasonable.

« Another great stay at Best Western! »

This was one of the best Best Western Hotels we have enjoyed! Every aspect of the trip was excellent! We received top rate attention to our needs and assistance accessing local restaurants. Our bed was extremely comfortable. My husband and I truly appreciated the fresh cookies! We will be back!

    « Scary and dirty!! »

The desk staff and breakfast were great but we reported the condition of our room we were met by boss Laura Rumrill who acted like a housekeeper pretending to be a manager... she could not have cared less about our concerns or the state of the rooms we rented. Beds are uncomfortable. Appliances in room constantly malfunction. Everything generally dirty. The desk employees looked embarrassed. Ice machine didn't work for two days, but they got us ice from a back room. Door 5 never locked, even after midnight. Thankfully we were together otherwise totally insecure. My advice, find another hotel until they find new management!!!!ph

    « Pleasant Experience »

I was attending my son's college graduation at RPI. This is a very nice place to stay for the price. Service was above average. Everything was clean. I would definitely recommend this to anyone traveling in the Albany/Troy area. Breakfast had a lot more choices than many hotels I've stayed in. I had to "eat on the run" and there were enough choices that I could take what I needed with me. there's a beautiful pool there as well and an exercise room. Great place to stay!

« Hotel Not Bad, Not Good »

We went to Albany for a relative's funeral. The check-in and other logistical details went fine. There were a few things that were not perfect. Complaint Number 1 was that both ice machines in the hotel were not functioning. Complaint Number 2 was that while the AC worked, it spit out cold, moist air and not dry air. Finally, turning on the light in the bathroom automatically turned on a noisy and ineffectual exhaust fan. There were good aspects. The pool was nice. The complimentary breakfast was better than most. I would rate the hotel as acceptable; not great, not terrible.

« Stay at your own risk »

Nice and convenient to Albany Airport. A bit dated looking but the rooms (except the bathroom) are fairly large. Good Internet, cable didn't work and the toilet clogged in the morning and flooded the bathroom floor. A bit expensive for these types of problems.

    2
    « Airport shuttle disappointment »

For what it's worth, this review is more about the airport shuttle service offered by the Best Western. Check in was professional and as expected and the room was adequate. I have no complaints about that. I was gone before breakfast, but I did notice that there was complimentary coffee available all night long, which was nice. I signed up for the 4:45am airport shuttle and at 4:40am I received a nice courtesy call. The shuttle service TO the airport was great. When I returned to the airport on a Friday afternoon, I called the Best Western and asked when I should expect the shuttle. They told me 15 minutes, which is fine. Well..... After 4 more phone calls and an hour later, the shuttle finally showed up. Each time I called, I was told that the shuttle was "almost there". The final time I called they took down my number so they could call me back after they called the driver. Another false promise, they never called me. They did, however, tell me that I could take a taxi cab at my own expense if I didn't want to wait! I'm sorry, but waiting an *HOUR* for a shuttle to bring me 2 miles from the airport to the hotel is unacceptable! Because of this, I will not be staying there again, nor will I recommend anyone to stay there. For my overnight trip, I would have been better off at a cheaper motel and just parking my car at the airport.

    5
    « Looking good! »

This is my second review. I mentioned that this hotel needs an update. That is exactly what they are doing! Pool area looks great...all new floor tile and lounge chairs, very nice. Rooms are being redecorated and are much better. It's not Marriott, but neither is the price! Very happy! Good to see that they're reinvesting in the property. When we checked in, landscapers were planting all new bushes and flowers. Keep up the good work!

This isn't the fanciest hotel, but it is a great value. Each time I stay here, it seems they are working on making improvements. The free breakfast is a bonus. For me, the location is perfect as it is close to many of my destinations.

« Nice Hotel with a great Breakfast included in price. »

Nice hotel with a great staff. We were on the floor with the pool and could go right out the sliding doors to the pool deck from our room. The pool was enclosed in a fence, so it could be locked at night. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic. Easy location to lots of restaurants and a mall and movie theater. All within 5 mins down the street.

« Clean but tired, needs an update »

We paid $96.00 for a king bed, included taxes and fees. The rooms are dated and need to be updated, but they were clean. The staff was very friendly and treated us like guests. The bed was too firm and BW STANDARD pillows to small. The breakfast was above average and we'll attended. Minutes from Albany airport.

« Perfect Spot for Pre- flight stay »

My husband & I spent the night before our 6:30 am flight back to Florida. The location of this hotel was perfect - and the shuttle service the next morning was ideal - 5 minute ride to Albany Airport at 4:50 am. The bed was very comfortable. The only negative was that when we were checking out at 4:40 am the desk clerk said "you're not taking the shuttle?" He told us that whoever had checked us in didn't indicate that we were intending to use the hotel shuttle to the airport, despite the fac that I asked the gentleman who checked us in what time the shuttle service started, as we had a 6:30 am flight. Thank goodness we had already told the shuttle driver, who was waiting in the lobby that we were using his services!

« Nicer than the average Best Western, not fancy but clean »

Checkin was quick, pleasant and polite. Breakfast was decent. Fridge and microwave in room were ok (mine was slightly broken, and even after advising they did not fix it, only took note to hopefully do something before the next guy comes). Breakfast is from 530, which is nice for early risers, gym is sparse but open 24 hrs. Bedding was appropriate and comfortable, shower was decent and didn't seem small or run-down in any way. If you're looking for a room under $100 it will be fine

« Terrible Customer Service and Dishonest Over-charge to Credit Card »

We arrived about 8:30pm. I showed the front desk man my reservation for four people in a two queen room and with request to be put to first floor room. He said all rooms on the first floor were taken by earlier travelers. I noticed the paper he gave me showed 3 persons in the room and corrected him that the reservation was for 4 people. He said fine and he would correct it. It seems he's focused on something else and just left us to talk to another person in the lobby. In the end I had to ask him if I should wait any longer and he said it's all set. So we took our luggage and took quite some time to climb stairs up to the second floor. When we opened our door, guess what we saw - there's just one king bed! I got upset and called the front desk immediately and asked why they gave us such a room when I specifically showed him we booked for four people for two beds. I was told to come down to be given another room. When I went down, it was another man who was also there when we first checked in. I asked him why this happened. To my surprise, he didn't answer my question at all but arrogantly said that he was helping me with a solution. I was shocked. There was no explanation, not a single word sorry or apology for what they did even when I demanded. Then he said he's busy and he'll talk to me later. I was tired and upset and had no intention of hanging any longer there. We were give a room on first floor this time. When we moved down there, I saw at least three group of people who checked in later than us also got the first floor rooms. So obviously the staff was lying to me about all first floor rooms having been taken. I had thought this was enough. But then the next day's bill showed they charged me a totally different higher price than our original booking price! Luckily it's a new girl at front desk in the morning who's very courteous and apologized for the mishap. But she can not correct the bill and would ask manager Lauren to contact me when she would come later the day. I told her I was to catch a flight to Florida and won't be available if not on that day. She promised Lauren would call me back the same day. I was finally a little positive on the hotel's customer care and would think that manager Lauren would call me back and explain/correct everything. However, now it has been over a week and I am already back from my trip. No one contacted me and my credit card bill was not corrected with any credit. I am in travel industry myself and was given a discounted price from Best Western to experience their hotels. Unfortunately it's a nightmare. I filed dispute with my credit card company and they took care of that over charge immediately. Buffet breakfast and access to airport are the pros. However, based on what I experienced there, will I recommend this to any of my friends or customers? Absolutely NOT. I'd tell them to stay as far away as they could.

    « No frills hotel »

We stayed here for one night only and we're glad that was all. It's pretty much run down. The rooms were very small and the bathroom was closet size. Our fan in the bathroom wasn't operational therefore taking a shower was unbearable due to the steam. The room became very humid too as a result. On the brighter side, staff was great! Continental breakfast was mediocre at best but not a big deal. This place needs serious updating!! It's clearly stuck in the late 70's early 80's Disco era.

« Nothing extravagant, but met my needs »

I reserved this room online on my way to Albany. We were driving through and staying one night. Online reservation was easy. Upon check in I was attended to by the front desk clerk who was not conversational but checked me in with no problems. The room was way around the back and parking was tight. The parking lot had a large hole in the travel way, but easily could have been under construction. The corridor access doors were not locked but had card slides where they could have been. In the stairwell of the corridor there was a large stockpile of what appeared to be remodeling materials. The room was a basic hotel room, but after a day of travelling I rested easily. Checkout was easy, although I did not see a breakfast area they appeared to have a juice/coffee bar.

« A good choice for budget travelers »

The Best Western Albany Airport Inn offers good value; it is affordable, with basic amenities and ordinary decor - nothing fancy but comfortable and functional, reasonably clean, and convenient to the highway. Staff are helpful and courteous. The general appearance of the hotel is a little scruffy (nicks in furniture, small cracks in vanity top), but most of those items are just cosmetic. The rooms are large and well laid out, with desk, open closet/hanger area, and a few drawers. Beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is somewhat dated but has decent vanity space and an okay shower (newer shower head might be a worthwhile improvement). A partial divider wall separates the room foyer and bathroom from the rest of the room, which is convenient ? light in one area does not intrude in sleeping area. The room offers only one bedside table and lamp ? would be helpful to have one on either side of bed. Our room in the rear of the property overlooked outdoor courtyard, which was quiet and pleasant (even covered with light snow). Free wifi worked well. Free breakfast was mediocre. It would be nice to have oatmeal and a better selection of fresh fruit. The hotel has 2 floors and no elevator.

    « A great bargain »

I've stayed at this hotel many times. It really is a great bargain with reasonable rates, a full hot breakfast every day, and comfortable rooms. For my visits to the Albany area, the location is perfect. While it is not the fanciest hotel, they have made many great upgrades in the last couple of years. The pool was closed for construction this time, but I've loved it in the past. It is indoor but has an open roof and since it is fairly close to the airport, you can sometimes see planes flying overhead when the roof is open. The standard in-room refrigerator and microwave are a great plus.

    « More Than Once!!!!!!!!!! »

This a really good inexpensive place to stay in the Albany/Troy area. We have stayed here at five times. Our kid goes to RPI in Troy and this is the closest inexpensive hotel that is close to the campus. The first time was a five star stay. Staff and rooms were awesome. We had a great visit. The rooms, at least on the ground floor have a COMPLETELY unique architectural embellishment. The concrete halls ha vehand textured bulges that my wife thinks look like elephant ears. Way cool to us! The stay before our last was miserable. We found detritus under the edge of the beds, a chicken leg bone behind the bedside table .NO facial tissue, shampoo or toilet paper refills The front desk said there wa a "NEW Manager" that was instituting a "just in time" ordering system that had resulted in some items, shampoo, tissue, etc. not being available. This is a truly STUPID move. Our last trip to visit was once again really good. There has been a large staff turnover but we observed some team building amongst the staff and the general attitude is once again positive. The hotel has opened a small restaurant in the hotel and it is adequate for a night snack. However, they close at 10:00. My wife likes the pizza. A lot. But she LIKES pizza. A LOT!!!!!!!!!! I would give a higer rating but am waiting to see if they return to their old, positive ways.

    « Beware of Renovations »

I stayed here for 3 nights during a business trip and found the place to be dated, claustrophobic and had to fight for some peace and quiet. Between the flight path for jets and the renovations going on right across the hall from my room, it was not pleasant. I couldn't believe that a group of workers were actively drilling, sawing and hammering in the room across from mine from early in the morning until after 7 at night. Not okay.

    « Don't judge a book by its cover »

The exterior isn't much to get excited about. But inside, this place has much to offer. Super friendly and accommodating staff, extremely comfortable beds, free wifi and access to business center, and an indoor pool! We only stayed one night but would have been happy to stay longer. Plus it's very close to lots of restaurants and has a free airport shuttle. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel.

    « Awesome Staff »

We wanted to stay close to the airport for an early flight home. The price was great and I was afraid we would sacrifice quality but we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived early but were allowed to check in. We had requested a first floor room and it was clean and included a fridge which was great. I needed help storing an item for our family to pick up after we left and the front desk staff were so gracious. Not only helping us out but going above & beyond to hold it several days. The location is very convenient to restaurants & shopping. A very good value and an enjoyable end to our vacation.

« Close to airport with shuttle »

I stayed for one night and came in late (almost midnight). No one was at desk but a gentlemen came out shortly to check me in. He offered to bring up my luggage as there is no elevator to second floor. Room was clean with average amenities. The walls were odd looking, but that's ok. The bed was comfortable and pillows were just your average foam, no feathers. Walls are a little thin so you can hear people in adjoining room. Hallway is also not so quiet at times with people going to their room. Breakfast was complimentary and decent with good coffee. Make your own waffles, egg/english muffin type combo (not warm), breads, yogurts, muffins, some fruit, etc.I would use this location again for the convenience and price for a one night stay to or from the airport.

    2
« Bad smells, bad attitudes »

It took three requests to be moved to a room that was palatable (the first smelled like smoke and the second like something very pungent) and not without snarky comment from one of the two night managers. Other reviews make it clear this is a hit or miss hotel. Why risk it? Not up to Best Western standards.

« Remodeled - but just the same »

We came in as a group - about 15 rooms. We are all above the age of 50 and needed ground floor rooms. This property has NO elevator. We were told that the property was sold out - even though we booked many months earlier. No way to get ground floor rooms (except for 2 available). The property had a group of "young" men booked. Many of them had not yet checked in. All were on the ground floor. This was a group of New York State employees. This group was noisy at night, walking and talking in the hallways. The renovation seemed nice, the public area was new and clean. The hallways still needed work. There was the smell from the pool - this has been going on for years. An exhaust system needs to be installed. The front desk was friendly - but was unable to do anything about room changes.

« A comfortable hotel to stay at near ALB. »

I have stayed at this location a few times. I have never had any issues or problems. The internet is reliable and they provide a good breakfast. It is convenient when you fly in and out of ALB. The walls in the rooms are unusual, but this not a bad thing, just unusual.

    4
« Clean, comfortable, friendly lodgings »

We've stayed in fancier places, but we've also stayed in much, much worse hotels for way more money. Spotless lobby, clean rooms, comfortable beds, and a pool literally right outside your door (if you stay in that area, which we didn't). The pool's cold temperature did take some getting used to, as did the fact that I had to wait for our food at the hotel bar with my kids for about 25 minutes, which was...an experience. We loved our stay, and the kids didn't want to leave. For the money, a great value in New York's capital city.

    « Needs some TLC »

Have stayed at this hotel previously but probably won't be returning next time my travels bring me to Albany New York. The good: close proximity to the airport with free shuttle offered. Beds are comfortable and continental breakfast is adequate. I have always found staff at this hotel to be excellent and very helpful. The bad: Noise pollution from nearby airport and busy Wolf Rd but easily remedied with the use of earplugs. Hotel starting to look worn and run-down and in need of some TLC. The ugly: Pool area really looking shabby - could see the sky through the large cracks/openings in the ceiling, lots of debris on pool floor and entire pool and deck area could use a good cleaning. Carpet around pool and in our room was stained in places. Bathroom in the room could use a good cleaning, just starting to look worn/stained. There are other options near the Albany airport and will most likely be trying another hotel in the future. Hopefully some updating and repairs are in this hotel's future, it sure needs it.

    « Albany »

This was the second time I have stayed at the Best Western, Albany Airport hotel. Considering where our office is, this is very easy to get to, on and off the highway. The room was comfortable. I didn't have much time to use the hotel except for sleeping, but it met my expectations. It's in an area with multiple restaurants to choose from. Except for the traffic on Wolf Road, it's an ideal place to stay and the rate wasn't bad either.

    « BESTWESTERN ALBANY AIRPORT »

The hotel is in a great location and the breakfast is excellent. The last few stays I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the room. I found items used by the prior patron that were still in the shower, used soap and bottle of shampoo. I use the fitness center and 2 of the 4 machines were not working.

« Nice Place to Stay »

Clean and comfortable. Very large hotel with many entrances/exits that are closer to room than going through lobby. Internet was average. Breakfast was average. Hot food was not very hot. Good selection.

    « Okay place. »

Okay place. Convenient right off the road. Parking was a problem, if you come after 7pm, you would have to park all the way back. Some interesting characters hanging outside. Room was okay, window curtain was ripped and dirty. Not bad for a night stay.

« Great Value and Service »

The hotel is close to Albany International Airport, with efficient, friendly shuttle service. The restaurant's food was outstanding and the bartender was attentive, efficient and funny. Desk personnel were well-informed and friendly. A great experience!

« Close to the airport »

This hotel was very close to the airport and provided a shuttle. The room was ok clean, no bugs, but the bathroom was a 1 star. I thought the tub spicket was going to come out of the wall! The shower spray, sparse. The light above the sink was mounted in such a way that my husband who is 5'8" had to duck the light to see himself in the mirror. My recommendation if you stay at this hotel be sure and get a room in the front because the freeway in the back is very noisy.

« Emergency Stay, good value »

We didn't intend to stay in Albany, but a travel nightmare forced us to find lodgings in Albany in the middle of the night. Clean, cozy, affordable. Comfy king-sized bed, but a leaky shower. What we needed, when we needed it; 'nuff said.

    « A bit overpriced for what you're getting »

We felt that at around $135 USD on a Thursday night, it was a bit expensive a night for what we ended up getting. Some of the bedsheets had little stains on them. Fortunately, we had 2 queen beds in the room, so we just slept on the one that looked ok at first inspection. The bathroom is where most of the work needs to be done. The door paint was starting to detach at the bottom of the door (inside the bathroom), we could also easilty see that the toilet was old and the countertop was of a few years back as well. The room was rather quiet once we unplugged the mini-fridge. The breakfast is included but don't expect much. There was no orange juice at the time we ate (7:15). The offering is limited to cereals, bread for toasts, yogourts, a waffle-maker and hard-boiled eggs. The staff we encountered (front desk and cleaning lady at breakfast station) were nice and serviceable. Having to make an overnight stop again in the area... I would choose another hotel to stay at, mainly because of the price matrix. The good: - Quiet room - Good location off the highway - Friendly staff To improve: - Prices - Breakfast offering

« Good value, convenient for airport »

The only reason I am not rating this hotel "excellent" is that it has a rather drab appearance on the outside and the immediate reception area, which does not make it immediately inviting, but that seems to be the way most of the hotels in this group are designed. Otherwise, it was good value for money and convenient in relation to places to eat within walking distance and foo delivery service. I did not get to use the bar but walked past it a few times and it looked like a cosy place to hang out.

« In dire need of refurbishment! »

Stayed for only one night fortunately. We were checked in by a friendly young lady which was the highlight of the stay! The room on the ground floor was well pasted a refurbishment as was the rest of the hotel. Not only that but the room smelt musty, despite spraying round with body spray which is all l had. The bedding and towels were clean, there were two small crawling things in the bathroom . The breakfast was better than l had expected but a bit limited in choices. I have ready reviews on TripAdvisor and wonder if they are talking about the same hotel not many people mention the smell or noticed the place is literally falling apart in the corridors with coving falling off and wood panels missing!! But you get what you pay for in this life - l recommend you pay a bit more and stay in a better hotel.

    « Surprised »

We have always stay at a Hampton Inn, but they do not take pets. We travel with a small dog now. So TripAdvisor brought your hotel up that allowed pets. We found the price very nice. Also the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was what we were use to. We are vegans because of health reason. So the only thing we could eat was potatoes. Which was ok. We are use to this. We were placed in a room away from other guest, because of the dog. That was a plus. The room was old & it looked like they were in the process of redoing the rooms. The two down sides were 1: a small bug was found on our sheets. With the fear of bed bugs, we looked around & did not find anything else. 2: The internet could not get hooked up. Kept coming up unsecured - do not use, on my Kindle & phone. I finally gave up. This is the first time we have ever had a problem in a hotel. This just meant we just had to talk to each other. Would I stay again. YES! It was a good value & overall pleased.

    « Great Stay »

Comfortable & clean hotel with a great, helpful staff, the airport shuttle service makes it a perfect travel hotel, and my in-room food service was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling for business or pleasure through Albany.

    4
    « Excellent Staff »

The shower was always a nice hot shower. My husband is very tall so the height of the shower is important. The rooms are clean. The only downside is they need a better air freshener, it is an older motel and they begin to smell stale. They are making physical improvements over our stay last year. I don't think they can get a better staff.

    4
« Well priced and located »

Typical Best Western but well priced and in a good location with easy access to motorways. Downstairs rooms have access to pool area which is useful if you have children and have friends elsewhere in the hotel. It means you can easily access the pool and have a table and chairs to socialise.

    « A place to sleep.... »

Stayed only one night passing through Albany. Front desk staff not particularly friend or helpful. Didn't even tell me location of my room --ended up finding it myself.. Room was clean and comfortable. Windows foggy/dirty and dingy hallways. Breakfast good with many things to chose from. overall an OK place to rest your head but definitely nothing special especially for the price.

« Worst Place to Stay!!! BEWARE!!! »

We went to Saratoga for the Travers, and didn't want to drive far after the festivities. We figured it was for one nite how bad could it be....Well we got to the room and it had an a joining room...the door knob to that door was missing. So the people in the next room could look in our room, which looked right into the bathroom. And if that wasn't bad enough, we couldn't leave our room without barricading that door using the ironing board . Because they could have easily put a coat hanger thru the opening and flipped the lock open! And to top the whole thing off....They BOUBLE CHARGED US. It has been 2 weeks now and I still cant get them to refund my money.

    3
    « Just okay »

Clean place inside outside. It is so close to restaurants so you wont be hungry at all! My room was decent with comfy bed l, hairdryer to iron board. Staffs were friendly. We stayed for 5 days and good thing is we always come in and out as we travel the city. Pool was closed on our entire stay. Nothing much to do so I guess this hotel is not really for leisure. Its just ok for business or transit I guess. We found a bug too in bathroom. Ac was kinda smelly. Breakfast was pretty basic with potatoes, eggs cheese, bacon, etc.

    3
    « Park and fly »

We have used this location many times. The rooms are adequate, they have expanded their evening meals in the restaurant and have a decent menu. The morning breakfast is very good and the shuttle for the park and fly is very helpful.

    « i do not under stand »

my review not clean hotel, the rooms are smelly the overall of hotel does not meet the standerd in my opinion. The reception was not apprpiat in my opinion the air conditioner unit was very noisy. the phoyos do not reflect the real things on the ground

    2
« Pay the extra to stay at a better hotel »

The rooms smelled, hallways smelled, and the staff were unfriendly and miserable. In the morning the breakfast was terrible, unless you only want oatmeal and coffee then you are set. Pay a little extra to stay at a better hotel. I have never stayed at a best western nor will I ever again. I was just disappointed overall.

    « Disappointed »

Rooms seemed clean but there were small flies in the room. The bathroom door did not shut, but the bathroom itself was clean. We wanted to stay at Inn that had shuttle service to the airport, the driver was friendly, and drove safely.

    3
    « poor room service »

if you stay here and you want tp order room service when an event is going on, find another place to eat. curtains in room were sun worn and ripped. hard to get internet for android devices. no elevator so i would call ahead if you have mobility issues

    2
« Poor service; rooms not clean »

We stayed for 1 night on our way to New York city. We booked the room because it was late and wanted to save a little before getting to Manhattan. At first glance, the room seemed okay. The next morning we noticed dog hair all over the floor. My wife spoke to the front desk, but they didn't seem to think it was an issue. My daughter wanted to swim before we got on the road. We were 1 of 4 families that had to wait 20 minutes for housekeeping to bring towels. My wife had to go ask them for the towels. They only brought 6 towels even though there were at least 12 people there. The only thing I liked about the hotel was the retractable roof over the swimming pool.

    4
    « Roberto's »

Very good hotel restaurant. Friendly service and food cooked to order. Italian specialties offered (pizza, calzones, pasta dishes and salads) but we had the fish and chips, perfectly done, delicious hand cut non-greasy fries! Just opened and redecorating the space. Prices were good.

    1
    « This hotel sucks »

There is no other way to put it... This hotel really sucks! I was there for a business conference; the rooms are in desperate need of updating. The air conditioner in the conference room barely worked (during the hottest days of the year, naturally) and the lobby bathroom is disgusting. Stay away, even if it is the cheapest option.

    2
« MAJOR need for renovation »

Stayed for a weekend away. Got a decent price using express deal on priceline. No wonder why! Hotel was really garbage. Need to get rid of all the yellow and brown colors of the walls/carpeting. Vending machines didn't work. Breakfast was gross. No elevator. Location is decent near highway but still wasn't worth the low price I paid. Would definitely stay at the Homewood next door next time. Pool area was neat with a retractable roof, saving this rating from a 1 star. Staff weren't too nice and phone didn't work to call front desk for additional toilet paper/tissues so I had to walk ALL the way across the property and back. Pizza at the on site restaurant was great and cheap!

    5
« Convenient to the Albany Airport »

We stay here every time we fly in or out of the Albany Airport. It's very close to the airport. We use the airport shuttle. The hotel is close to many good restaurants. It makes for a very relaxed journey.

    3
« decent value for the price »

We stayed her for just one night on our way to Maine. It served our purposes. Outdated but clean. The pool looked inviting but with a 9:00 p.m. closing time was too early- would be nice to be open at least until 10:00. Breakfast was pretty standard.

« A VERY POOR VISIT TO ALBANY BEST WESTERN »

I decided to give the Albany Best Western another chance after the poor visit last year. This years trip was worse. I tried early check in and was told no. I asked if my 1st floor room request for reasonable accommodation would be honored. the day clerk said yes. When I came back early evening, the room was given away. I asked for a luggage cart and was told where to get it. Then I realized the room was a second floor. I asked how to get the cart up there. He acted surprised that I needed help. While I tried to explain my needs and asked why my room was given away, he did not seem to care. Finally he gave me a first floor room. What he did not give me was my gift bag and coupons for the restaurant. A lumpy bed and and no wake up call after requesting one just added to the poor experience. I will give credit for a good breakfast.

    4
« Stayed here for a dog show »

I found this hotel thru Petswelcome, com. The pet wing is in the back with easy access to the outside. My room was comfortable and clean. A nice hot breakfast is included and there is a restaurant on site. The location is right of I87. Would definitely stay here again.

« Clean but needs updating »

This is a very outdated hotel. Needs some serious updating. No security cameras to be seen. Many entrances. Entrance doors were key carded, but one closest to our room was propped open constantly with rocks. Also a few shady folks staying there that seemed to just wander around parking lot in a "dazed" stuper, in their pajamas, that covered nothing. Might as well been streaking. Walking in circles, All Day. Every Day. And we stayed here for a few weeks. Made me a little nervous. Obviously, Mgt is not paying attention to whats going on, or dont realize . But I will say the housekeeping staff was always courteous and pleasant. Front desk not so much, we asked for price quotes for an extended stay for days, and no one seemed to be able to answer our questions. Never did. So we moved to another hotel that could. The rooms are clean, nice and spacious. They had a nice little lap desk in room which was quite nice. I've never come across that type of amenity in an average priced hotel. Nice touch. They have a indoor/outdoor pool. Sliding roof overhead. But dont use the picnic tables that surround it after 9:00 p.m. pool is closed after that, and apparently so is common area. Baseball teams in town for tournament used picnic tables to eat at and the night mgr. Called the police , because pool was closed.??? They werent in pool. We were staying right across from them, and were shocked this happened, they weren't being loud. Just a bunch of kids and coaches, few parents wanting to sit together and share a few pizza's. There may have been some circumstance I was unaware of, but I will not ever forget those kids faces when the police officers came in. The Officers, by the way were very polite and nice. I don't think they understood why they were called either. I just felt it could have been handled better by hotel staff, if there was a problem. I did notice that in our hallway, every Fire Extinguisher box, the glass was already broken, and the one thats supposed to hold attached Fire hose, there Wasnt one. Nothing there. Scarey! For a group, this hotel is a little pricey for what it is, but rooms are clean. I would not recommend this place for single lady to stay at. Needs changes. Updated security, paint, etc. I gave 3 stars cleanliness for housekeeping staff.

    « Another Great Stay! »

Unfortunately we were in town for a funeral. Everyone was pleasant, understanding, and helpful. Shar was a delight! Rooms were immaculate. Pool was fun. Breakfast was good. Have been here before and will be back again.

« Great value, great service »

The breakfast area and food offered were excellent. The motel is close to the highway and easy to access. The staff were very friendly and courteous. There were very unique wall designs in the room. Overall, our stay was a very good value for the money.

    3
    « hotel / airlines »

hotel was sub-quality, but ok. We did not spend a great deal of time in the hotel. The location was good for proximity to family and to some shopping. Air travel experienced delays at every stop with problems of not enough gates, so that we were late returning and getting there causing our pick up problems in Albany.

    2
« Not the Best Western I remembered »

We stayed here one night while on a 4 day trip to New York. We were a party of 6, that requested adjoining rooms as we had kids with us. I understand if there are not adjoining rooms available. How about next door to each other or across? No, we were at opposite ends of the floor to each other and it was only after I made a big stink about it that it was resolved. Next, the hotel is old, dirty, and smelled like an ash tray. None of the security doors I used worked. So people who were not staying there had easy access to the hotel. Not good. My sisters room was an entire other level of nasty. The sheers on the window looked like a cat had got to them, and her smoke detector had a shower cap over it! On the plus side, the beds were clean and comfortable. The on site restaurant has new owners and the food and service was excellent. I have no idea how they plan on surviving in that hotel. The front desk ranged from helpful to snippy. I would never go to this hotel again, and I would not recommend it either. I think Best Western should investigate this place to see if it complies with their standards.

    3
« GOOD LOCATION - ROOM AND BREAKFAST JUST AVERAGE »

I find Best Western hit and miss lately with many properties in much need of updates. This hotel was on the way home so we gave it a try. The lobby is large and modern housing a pizzeria/ bar. This is handy, however the smell of cooked food permeates the entire hotel. The room we had was a double queen and had plenty of space. The decor was dated, but it was clean and well appointed. The breakfast buffet offered NO meats, but the scrambled eggs were ok. The juice was warm, and the hard boiled eggs were over cooked and rubbery. This place is ok for 1 night, but I would grab breakfast elsewhere.

    « Amazing wedding experience.... »

We booked our wedding here in July 2015, for July 8, 2016. In the one year we went through 2 coordinators that just suddenly left. Then we got the "dream team" Laura and Robert. They understood our concerns, and helped us from our first meeting. Our wedding was beautiful, and an absolute amazing day! Everyone in the hotel is so helpful, and friendly. Dan and I don't have a single complaint. They even allowed us to have our fur baby stay with us, and the driver even offered to walk her for us so we can enjoy ourselves that day! My MOH had a headache, so Laura sent someone to get Aleve for her so she didnt have to worry or be in pain. These are just minor things everyone did to make our day special. Thank you so much for making our day so amazing! Dan and Amanda Kraft

    3
    « Okay »

Cheap and clean, but appears run-down and has dated decor. Bath tub had rust/hard water stains, some wall damage that was repaired poorly. Decor screamed "1975". I'd consider it again if I needed a place in the area, but I'd check the competition first.

    3
« The Good; The Understandable; The Ugly »

I stayed at this property on two separate nights (7/15 & 7/17) passing through Albany to and from a family event in upstate NY. From the online reviews the hotel looked as expected - dated, but clean. The remodeled lobby is basic but functional. The breakfast room has been lightened probably with the addition of the three window along one wall. (More on breakfast below.) The staff was very friendly and helpful. You could hear the odd plane or two from the nearby airport but this was to be expected and not an annoyance. These were the good and the understandable. As I had had a recent knee injury I required a handicap accessible room. The one I had on July 15th was actually quite roomy and well suited to my needs. However, come late afternoon I started to smell what seemed like smoke which was quickly fouled with burnt cooking smells. It was pungent and bad. With only a door and no windows to open, the smell built and lingered. It was from the onsite restaurant only a few steps from my room. The smell got better for awhile and that night I was able to sleep. I awoke though with the smell and a bad taste in my mouth. Yuck! I did go to breakfast about 8:40am. It goes until 10am. The options were as advertised but the eggs, potatoes and ham slices were cold. It would be very generous to say slightly warm. When brought to their attention the staff offered to heat my plate in the microwave in back, but by then I had gone for a toasted bagel. The napkins and plasticware are up on a wall shelf in back of, and over, the hot toaster, waffle maker and "hot" food trays. The risk of getting burned while reaching for any of these is a potential. Functional for space but unsafe. On my second stay days later, I asked for a different room, taking some chances with my knee. But that smell was still in my memory and I could not stay in any of the rooms near the restaurant. (BTW.. the smell was in the main corridor as I checked in and later on my way out for dinner.) My room this time was by the pool. It was one of the remodeled rooms and was very nice but I find those carved walls ugly. Smallest bathroom I have ever seen, so that was a surprise but not an issue. Depending on your stay you might find the poolside rooms noisy with kids or guest using the pool. It was true the evening that I was there, but that kind of thing does not bother me. Good hotel for the money if staying only for a night or two. Good for families and those traveling solo. But don't expect much. The nice staff really puts it over.

    3
« Great Location; Not So Great Staff »

With a great location fairly good amenities, and good rates for the area, this hotel should be an easy choice. You just have to hope the right staff is on duty during your stay. The offer of free breakfast and free Wi-Fi is not all that hard to find; but an airport shuttle, indoor pool and fitness center with late night access are less common and add to the appeal of the facility. Just be prepared to speak up (loudly) if there is any kind of problem - at least with coffee available in the common room 24/7, you can grab a cup or two on your way back to your room!

« Functional place to stay »

We needed a place to stay after a very long car trip. This hotel was just fine. It was a bit tired but clean and did the job we wanted. The breakfast was rather average and included in the cost. It was easy to find and close to the freeway so quick to get to and away from. Plenty of parking and good wifi.

    3
    « NICE LOBBY, FRIENDLY STAFF...BUT!!! »

The lobby was clean and updated. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The free breakfast was good...but on our way to the room, was NOTso great. The hall could use febreeze, daily and could be brighter. The carpet should be shampooed*stale smell*. The room itself was clean...we slept well. The bathroom was clean, with some upgrade. I would only recommend a 1-night stay.

    « A disappointing stay »

I have been taking road trips with my family for over 20 years now and Best Western was always a name you could count on when choosing a hotel. Whether this stay at this particular Best Western should be considered on its own and not representative of the whole is up for discussion but I will say it has altered my opinion of the franchise. We were a group of six traveling together with children and booked online asking for adjoining rooms. When checking in, we were told they couldn't accomodate that but would give us rooms across from each other. Their idea of rooms across from each other were rooms in different hallways, not even close. We insisted on a change and they put us a few doors down from each other....I had room 120. The smell of smoke aside.....we were greeted by torn sheers on the windows, badly stained drapes on the windows and a smoke detector covered in plastic. When we told the front desk they didn't know anything about this and said they would take care of it. Not for nothing, but what the heck is the housekeeping doing if they didn't notice all of this??? They did manage to send someone and they changed the sheer, but fixed nothing else. In my opinion, safety and a covered smoke detector should have been the priority! When we called the front desk they told us to take off the plastic!. In addition there were water stains on the ceiling of my bathroom and for some reason I found all doors looked dirty, like they were never wiped down. I did have a package of Lysol wipes and cleaned everything I could. The hallways are dark with carpet I wouldn't walk barefoot on. The free breakfast was a disappointment with not much food brought out. From the outside of the building I could see other rooms with torn sheets. I will say, the beds were clean and not uncomfortable. The shower was decent. Of note is Roberto's a bar in the hotel that serves food as well. We decided to eat there since we were tired from traveling and the food did not disappoint. Mozarella sticks, chicken fingers, pizza, burger and a steak sub were all great and they make excellent French fries. They also serve beer on draft. Our waitress was very nice. In the end, I couldn't get past the state of the room and was pretty disgusted. I will be thinking twice about booking a Best Western in the future.

« Wolf Road Best Western »

Wolf Road Best Western is a better value than Western Ave, and facilities are newer. Nearby I-87 and airport present some noise issues, dependent on room location. Convenient location near restaurants, entertainment and shopping on Wolf Road.

    « Good nights sleep »

The last night of a road trip, looking forward to good nights sleep. This is a nice Best Western Unit, convenient and the bed was of good quality, I had what I was looking for, a good nights rest. I would stay at this hotel again if I am in the area.

    « A great value »

This hotel is a great value in a location that will work extremely well for many things...shopping, airport, etc. Free full hot breakfast every day is a plus! This is an older hotel and the exterior is not up to par but they are gradually renovating the exterior (lobby, rooms, ballroom where breakfast is served) to be very nice. Wonderful indoor pool with a ceiling that is open during nice days.

    « Great Expereince »

The place was incredible. Pool phenomenal, happy hour awesome. Staff was extremely helpful. Location to airport was close and it was to several restaurants and mall. I would definitely recommend this motel to all my friends and continue to stay there when I return to Albany.

other than no elevators and no washer and dryer, this hotel was great. The staff were very professional and the rooms were very clean. The beds were awesome and very comfortable. The breakfast was awesome and the restaurants wings were amazing. I would stay again, but only on shorter trips since there was no washer and dryer.

Overall, the hotel was fine and the staff was helpful and courteous. The location was on a very bust street, which made it more difficult to get in and out. Access via the keycard thru the exterior door didn't work, and it was obvious that it hadn't worked for several other guests.

Room was quiet. Bed was clean. Restaurants closeby. Gym ok but no weights, no water, no towel or papers, so sweaty equipment. Smells of smoke. Bar closed early. Bad breakfast. No friendly faces. Wlll not return, there are other hotels nearby that are in good condition.

« Great location and value, consistently excellent customer service »

Near great restaurants, shopping and airport. My goto hotel when traveling in Albany, NY. Front desk personnel are always accommodating. Full breakfast value is about $15 pp. Comfortable beds. Expansive hotel, used by business and personal travelers alike. some rooms are renovated. Almost always spotlessly clean, even tho décor may not be up to date with current trends.

    « Ugh »

Stayed here on our way further north. It was easy to find and we were promptly greeted. The front desk clerk recognized me as a rewards member, but received nothing. Usually we get a bottle or two of water. The lobby was nicely decorated. The room was clean. Beds were comfortable. The room smelled of stale smoke, so you could tell it use to be a smoking room. The HVAC unit in the room was right next to the bed and was very noisy and blew right at your head. We couldn't control the direction of the flow of the air. In the middle of the night, the toilet decided to run, then shut off, and run again. At 5:57 am, our phone rang with a wake up call we never ordered. We did not get a good night's sleep because of the air and noise of the unit, them abruptly woken by the phone ringing.

« Clean. Old. Decent breakfast. »

This is an older hotel. The pool was dirty and unwelcoming. However, the room was clean, and the breakfast was good. The hotel looks very much like a place from the early 60s. If you're looking for a reminder of Mad men, it's a great one.

I have stayed here several times and have never been disappointed. There is a free shuttle to/from the airport (about 5 minutes away, a hot breakfast, free WIFI, a nice little pub and comfortable accommodations. You can keep your car parked here while you're gone. It's within walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. Even though it's close to the airport, noise has never seemed to be an issue. I've always been really satisfied here.

« Super place for late arrival or early morning flight »

I stayed at the Best Western Albany Airport Inn because I was arriving at the airport at 11pm and did not want to drive to a meeting 90 miles away until the next morning. The shuttle service runs through midnight and was very prompt after I called. The hotel is a short (10 min) ride from the airport (hence the name). I found it to be an older but well maintained facility. My room was quite large, had TWO suitcase stands, a large flat screen TV, a nice desk to work on, and free wi-fi. A free breakfast was included and there were lots of choices to select from. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful from the night clerk to the day staff to the shuttle driver. There is a gym and a pool on site but I did not have time to use either of them although the weather was perfect! I would definitely stay here again when traveling to Albany.

Enjoyed my stay very much. Centrally located and easy to navigate to and from this location to everywhere in the region. Clean rooms, friendly staff. I would definitely stay again. Great location for college visits.

    « A Union Hotel Makes a Difference! »

This property has taken care of my business travel needs year after year for 17-18 years. Friendly faces greet you and present a spotless room. I have always found a room here whether it's advanced booking or a last minute check in which usually happens with business. The more than a continental breakfast makes a quite a difference to a woman traveling alone on business...you can always take it back to your room while yo're getting ready to leave. Has always been BEST Value fo me!

Older hotel, however, very clean, covered swimming pool, large breakfast area next to pool, good breakfast choices, nice decor, friendly staff, easy access to airport, quiet. Would recommend to friends and Family.

    « Working as always »

Very nice hotel great staff and very close to restaurants and shopping. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. The only con is the airport is close so you hear the planes at times but not bad overall.

    « Serviceable but dated »

We booked the Best Western due to the proximity to the airport and the fact it had a shuttle, as were arriving late enough that we couldn't get our rental care until the next morning. Our plane was delayed so the shuttle idea was a bust, leaving with a ripoff ride from Capitaland Taxi ($10 for two miles?). The hotel itself is over 40 years old (I know because I used to ride my bike down Wolf Road in the 1970's and hit the vending machines on occasion) and the main problem is that it shows. The lobby area is fine, but the rooms themselves, especially the bathrooms, desperately need an updating. Even a Bath Fitter insert would help. The staff was fine, the breakfast lady adorable and the beds comfortable, but even a little updating would go a long way.

« New parking fee policy is not good »

We have stayed here several times due to early flights in the morning and have had enjoyable stays. We tried to book a room a few days ago and told them we needed to drop off our car the day of our stay, earlier than the check in time. They told us they have changed their parking policy and are now charging 20.00 to park your car for up to 2 weeks. That doesn't help if you're staying only one night. The airport charges 13.00 a day for parking so this is much more expensive. I suppose it would be worth it if you wanted to leave your car for two weeks but they are penalizing people who are there for short stays. This is not New York City, we didn't feel it was fair to charge parking for guests staying there. We will not stay here again. We had a very enjoyable stay at the beautiful Desmond, only slightly higher price for the room and free parking and shuttle. We will stay there from now on.

    « poor policy »

We have stayed there on several occasions when we have had an early flight. They have a shuttle and allow you to park your car there as long as you were booked into a room. We were going to book a room for tomorrow night but need to leave our car there early. We were told by the front desk that they have changed their policy. They wouldn't allow it without us paying a 20.00 parking fee even though we were staying there that night. We were told they are now charging a 20.00 parking fee every day you stay there. The airport only charges 13.00 per day to park in long term. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.

« Great Hotel for Frequent Airport Traveler »

I live 2.5 hours from Albany and frequently fly from the Albany airport. I stay at this hotel the night before an early morning flight or after a late night arrival. The location is great for airport travel, you're 5 minutes from the airport. The wake up call and park and ride are very convenient. The hotel rooms are clean and have everything you need. There is a great fitness center with a couple of treadmills, an elliptical, and a bike. The hotel provides a good continental breakfast and now the bar has a restaurant that is open until 10pm. I am always satisfied after a night here and it's a great place for a weary traveler to rest.

« Good 2 nights at Best Western Albany Airport »

I had a last minute trip to Albany and found the Best Western to be affordable and convenient. I had a late check-in and the staff was prepared for me upon my arrival. The room was neat and clean and the Hotel was comfortable. I'd visit again.

    3
« Did not sleep well- should not be 3 star hotel. »

I traveled with 4 people, each with their own room. Upon checking in we asked for a late check out since it was very late.. The staff was accommodating and let us stay 1-2 hours later. However, each one of us was awakened by the awful sound of housekeeping keys at 9am.. Needless to say all of us suffered the next day unnecessarily. Poor internet connection. This should not be a star hotel.

    1
    « Don't Stay Here! »

No security, bad mattress, domestic issues in the middle of the night, external doors didn't lock or close, pool closed due to "accident", dark and dingy, free breakfast was runny eggs. Safer out on the street! I would never stay here again.

    4
    « Excellent Location »

This hotel is located in a very nice area not far from Albany Airport. It is not far from a beautiful park (Colonie Crossings) where you can go for long walks. A Hannaford supermarket just down the road has a salad bar. There are several eating places nearby. The hotel itself has a big lobby and big breakfast area, with free breakfast, and a nice indoor swimming pool. They were rennovating the breakfast room during our most recent stay so breakfast was by the pool. The food was disappointing (little variety, lukewarm) but I hope this is temporary due to relocation of breakfast to the pool.

« Pretty typical Best Western, some good some not so good, relatively inexpensive »

Great staff, clean, nice exercise room and pool. Pretty cheap for the area...you get what you pay for. Place is a bit dated, but well maintained. Bath is tiny...barely more than a closet. Biggest room complaints were lots of noise in the hallway and the inability to block out the floodlights...with the drapes drawn, I could still read with the light coming in around them. The "breakfast buffet" was in the pool area, painfully cold, and very limited. There was no sausage or bacon, eggs were petrified and cool, no english muffin, coffee bitter. Should I go back, I'd definitely go elsewhere for breakfast.

    4
« Great Stay, Park and Fly »

Front desk staff were friendly, informative, and courteous. While the room was a bit dated, it was clean and comfortable. Early wake-up and transport shuttle to the airport was on time and very efficient.

    2
    « Substandard »

Staff is the only bright thing about this place. Difficult to believe that this is a Best Western. The colors and carpet in the corridor are depressing.. The bedroom is in such a need of attention that it is difficult to believe that an attendant did not report the frayed and no so clean armchair, the torn curtain in two spots and the questionable cleanliness of the bedspread. We do not mind a retro decor, in fact the walls in the rooms were a good late 50's, early 60's example, but we do mind a neglected place. The pool, lost in the middle of an inner courtyard with bedrooms windows surrounding it and practically no furniture around is a sad an uninviting sight. As for the breakfast room, it is so dark that you barely see what is in on your plate. Keep the great staff but improve everything else.

« Think twice. Then think again. »

Meant to write this 9 months ago after a one-night stay while in town on a college tour. Forgot to book somewhere near the campus until it was too late -- a big sports event had everything booked. This was all we could get so we're grateful for that, but...never again. Felt very creepy. Car parking lot was behind the building without security. Dragged out bags up a dirty stair case to the second floor where "renovations" were underway. (Ditto for the makeshift lobby area and temporary entrance.) Our door looked as if it had been broken into before. The room was dingy -- at best -- with old furniture and walls that were thickly-plastered in strange white swirls. Won't discuss the bathroom, but I wore shoes.

    « Great overnight stay »

I had a late check in. Somebody is always there to help you. Fast check in. Comfy beds (I would prefer bigger pillows) but wasn't a big problem. Enough space for the 4 of us. Good breakfast (included) and again a nice fast check out. I recommend this hotel.

    4
    « Family Time »

Took a day for Mother daughter time. Easy access to places we wanted to go. Enjoyed the pool and relaxing in room. Beds very comfortable. Excellant water pressure in shower. Would have liked to see either sausage or bacon at breakfast bar. Did not like the hash.

« Albany Best Western on Wolf Road park & fly »

Very good option for travelers flying from the Albany, NY airport, with inexpensive parking and shuttles to/from airport. Nice place to stay ... comfy, friendly, clean .... Now with so many flights beginning at 6 am, it's so much more convenient to stay over the night before and then just catch the quick shuttle first thing in the morning. We live an hour away from the airport, so this saves us from having to get up at 2 in the morning to get to the airport a couple hours before these early flights.

    3
    « Comfortable and clean »

We booked through a third party, so the cost was alright for this property. Being at one end of Wolf Road and having a large mall at the other end combined with being very near to both the I-90 and the I-87, makes this an ideal location. There are dozens of restaurants on Wolf Road. The hotel itself is quite old, but is clean and in reasonable shape. Our room was fine, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a little on the small side, with limited counter space. The pool was nice, however there were no towels available poolside, and the telephone by the pool was not working, which negates the ability to notify the front desk in case of an emergency. To the best of my knowledge, the pool area does not have video surveillance. Overall, our stay was satisfactory.

« Very Friendly Staff - Decor Needs Updating »

We were on a two week driving trip to Quebec starting and ending in Albany. We chose this hotel for its closeness to the airport. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We needed to pick-up and drop-off a rental car at the airport and the van driver shuttled us to and from. Very helpful. As for the decor of the room, this place must have been built in late 60's. Just a guess. The room was clean, but definitely felt dark and dated. Not complaining too much as the price was right. $89 plus tax.

    4
« Great Place to Stay »

I stayed here for one night prior to flying out of Albany Airport. The Front Desk staff was very friendly during check in and out. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I did not try the bar. Breakfast in the morning exceeded what I expected. There was a good variety of breakfast foods to pick from. The airport shuttle driver was running right on time and the driver was nice. Next time I have a early flight out of Albany I will definitely stay here again.

    « Great! »

We were laid over for the weekend and needed to stay in this area. I checked tripadviser as I always do and we decided on this hotel, plus they could accommodate parking for a tractor/trailer. This is a convention center hotel and two large groups were meeting Friday thru Sunday. No problem! The hotel was very clean, front desk to house keeping staff very warm and polite. We needed to go to the store Saturday evening and the shuttle driver took us to one about a mile away. Saved us money shopping there. Shuttle driver was great to talk to and careful driving. We had a CLEAN king, non smoking room, large room with flat screen tv, micro, fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer and wifi. We used them all and had no issues. The room was beautifully decorated. The heat/cool unit worked great and had a continuous fan option which we loved as we need that to sleep even at home. Bed was comfy, lots of fluffy pillows too. The bathroom was spotless, very clean and had an exhaust fan! The bathroom is small compared to some, but no problem for us. Our room was on the back side, ground floor, and was very quiet. They do not have an elevator at this 2 level hotel so keep this in mind if booking. The airport is nearby but we only heard 3 airplanes Friday evening, none after 10:00pm, and we heard 1 on Friday evening before 10:00pm. We were expecting to hear planes much more. The hotel offers a nice breakfast but we didn't partake and slept in. There was a nice indoor pool but we didn't use it. We loved this hotel and wished we could've stayed longer. It's near areas to shop and several restaurant's nearby. This hotel is clean, accommodating and quiet to be near the airport, you won't be disappointed. We booked direct with the hotel, earned points and saved a few dollars.

    « Airport heaven »

This little hotel is refreshing itself and it shows. First, the beds are AWESOME. Second, everything in the fitness center worked and I was able to get in a SERIOUS workout. (thanks) I booked mainly because they have long term parking for the airport available with a stay. (one night fine) AND a shuttle that runs every 15 mins when there is any possibility that the airport has flights coming or going. Getting it when I came back was a snap; the driver loads your bags. I, unfortunately was not able to have breakfast (damn those 6AM flights) but it looked yummy online. All of this for a SUPER REASONABLE rate. I would get a room however that is not facing the road. It's pretty busy and was a bit noisy. Other than that, go for it. The chairs in the lobby are worth a visit in themselves.

    « If you can't afford good. »

Beds need replacing. Pillows were the size of throw pillows - small and square. They are well past due. Room was clean. Person maintaining breakfast did not belueve the sternos were out, and foid was cold. When informed, she disagreed and did not check. Pool room had as much water on the floor as in the pool, it was obviously out of order, with a seive for a roof. We asked for a quiet room and were given one backing up to the highway.

« Good choice for weekend with friends »

The hotel is close to several restaurants and shopping destinations, including Crossgates Mall and Stuyvescent Plaza. My friends and I especially appreciated the free shuttle service that enabled us to get to and from restaurants and bars safely! The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable.

Decent hotel, decent hot breakfast, good wifi, efficient shuttle to airport. Good value if planning to catch a flight. Would stay again if necessary.

    « Allows pets! »

Hotel is older, but very clean and well run. The room was a little small for two queen beds but overall we had no complaints. They allowed us to bring our two 70 lb. dogs, which is imperative for us when we travel for leisure. The fee for the dogs was only $20.00 each which is very reasonable. The beds were a little soft for our liking but made up beautifully.

« Friendly Place Getting Better »

I travel frequently to Albany, NY with my Shih Tzu. I am a member of their rewards program. The rates are very reasonable including the pet charges ($20 a day). The hotel has recently been upgrading and redecorating, making it more inviting and attractive. It is admittedly a older motel, but a friendly and economically reasonable choice. They remember me and give me my favorite room when it is available. Currently, the kitchen is being upgraded, so the restaurant is not available.

    « Return Customer »

I always stay at this motel when in the Albany area. I have stayed as long as 5 weeks. The staff is always wonderful, the lady in the breakfast room does a fabulous job changing the menu so we do not get the same thing all the time.. The bar is small and friendly.

    « nice bar »

Older hotel but clean. We had a frig, micro and coffee pot along with bathrm toiletries.we had a poolside room with 2 queen beds. The pool water was nice and warm. The breakfast was more than enough, hot and cold items. The shuttle was prompt in the morning and a little longer for pickup. The onlyproblem the shuttle quits at midnight so you have to pay for a taxi.for the price I recemend this hotel. Also bar/restaurant is closed on Sundays which is a bummer when you want a quick bite.

    « I'll Be Back Here Again »

I've stayed at a handful of hotels in the Albany area, and so far, this one has been the best. It's well-kept and clean, and although I expected a noisy experience since it's between a main highway and the NYS Thruway (my room was facing the Thruway), as well as near Albany airport, it was a nice stay. I slept well, and it was comfortable. The service was helpful, directing me to the closest parking and exterior entrance to my room. It's a single-story hotel, but I was comfortable on the first floor. It's near the Colonie Mall and plenty of other stores and restaurants; good location with ample parking. I'd definitely stay here again.

« You Get What You Pay For... »

I recently completed a business trip and stayed at the Best Western Albany Airport Inn due to cost and corporate picking. The Inn is located close to the airport, which was nice. Check in was simple and the staff was nice. Upon entering the room you see just how dated the Inn is. My rooms walls were concrete in nature and had protrusions like a rock climbing wall all around. The room showed many areas of age, but worth noting the room was clean. The heat worked well, the internet was one of the faster ones and I travel quite a bit, the water pressure was good - although the shower head was not the best. No safe in the room, open closest, no plugs next to the bed and although a flat screen tv a bit on the smaller side. Overall for the price point you can't go wrong - it was clean, safe, friendly staff and came with a free breakfast that is typical.

    5
« One of our favorite hotels »

This is not one of the newer Best Westerns, and we love it all the more for it. It is clean and well kept, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and it has a charm all its own. We prefer the poolside rooms with the connecting doors because we are usually traveling with friends and family when we visit the area. The convenience of the tables around the pool room where we can sit and relax. In the warmer months we like to hang out in the courtyard, where you can sit outside and almost forget you are in a city. Decent breakfast, especially since it is free, good location. Will be back again next year.

    3
« Convenient for use of airport »

We ha ve twice used this hotel for trips from the Albany airport in order to leave our car at the motel and use their shuttle to the airport. Unfortunately, this time, their shuttle did not run after midnight, and our flight did not get in until 1:40 A.M., so we had to use a taxi to the motel.

« Best value in Albany, NY »

Don't be put off by the somewhat outdated exterior of this hotel...the interior has been completely updated. It's a great location...close to the airport, shopping, etc, and there's even a stoplight for easy access to Wolf Road. The rooms all have small refrigerators and microwaves and good quality mattresses. Don't miss the free full hot breakfast included.

    « Great Meeting Hotel »

Having recently conducted a 4-day meeting at this property for 100, I can say that STACIE BLAIR, Sales Mgr./Meeting Planner/Wedding Planner does a superb job! She made my meeting planner's job much easier, and was very responsive to all requests. The entire staff is professional and cordial - a joy to work with. The food is great. After a significant renovation, the property looks great. The guest rooms are immaculate and well appointed. My group has been coming here for 14 years now and I have been told to NOT look around and to keep coming back here. Everything went off like clockwork for 4 days with absolutely no slips or errors. So we will be back next year. It may not be the Ritz Carlton, but this property is several steps higher than Motel 6 or other low-end properties.

« Reliable and good service »

We were impressed by the promptness of the airport shuttle service to this hotel so it made a good first impression. The hotel is older but the lobby is very contemporary in contrast to the room which had the oddest plaster job I've ever seen. However, the room was comfortable and clean. That was all we really needed. Breakfast was only so/so and we skipped it the second morning opting for the Starbucks down the road. I'd consider staying again because the price was good and the proximity to the airport was very good.

    5
    « Best Customer Service »

I can't say enough about the customer service at this hotel. I had made an incorrect reservation, and didn't realize it until I came to the desk to check in. Not only did the desk clerk find me a room, but she also suggested I call the Customer Service line and see about what could be done for my mistake. Happily, it was all sorted out in my favor. Can't say enough about the GREAT customer service at this hotel, and the Best Western chain in general.

« Hope no one takes your tires and rims off your car . »

the rooms are ok . its an old motel. it needs a coat of paint and some new carpet . the cleaning staff are the Best. the rest of the staff / manager and owner could learn a lot about customer service from them . As the title says we had our tires stolen off are car in the parking lot over night . the young woman at the front desk wouldn't even call the manager to talk to us about what happen. I had to start knocking on all the doors to the and telling eveyone what had happen before she called him and he lives in the hotel. it wouldn't have been a huge deal if we could have put the spare on . but when they take more then one tire its not to easy to get if fixed on a Sunday . i had to more or less ask the manager to comp our room and let us stay an extra night so we wouldn't be out on the side of the road with our disabled son . because it was going to cost us more the 500 bucks to get the car running . and the manager and staff seemed like I was asking for too much .. they have no cameras in the parking lot and acted not shocked at all, it made me think this kind of thing happens here a lot. spend the extra money and stay at the courtyard it next door and they have video cameras of the parking lot

I stay at Best Western Hotels regularly and this falls very short of the quality one can normally count on when booking at one of their locations. It is in desperate need of an overhaul. It has a very 1970's feel and look about it.

« Really close to the airport »

This hotel is a short drive from the Albany airport. Good room. The remote would not turn on the TV. I had to unplug the TV then plug it back in to reset it. This often happens to publicly used TV's. This is a good tip to remember if you are having trouble with your TV in a hotel room. The service was excellent. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Better than average free breakfast. This hotel was a great value for the cost. I would definitely stay here again.

    « Stay Away »

Travel a lot with my work and a co-worker & I stayed there overnight and was really not impressed with our stay at all. Firstly, the receptionist, was not friendly and quite short with us..not sure if she was having a bad day, so we let it go. The rooms were very dated and dirty. Dust everywhere, holes in my co worker's room carpet, mine were stained, my co-worker's door would not lock, so he was moved. Oddly to me, both of our rooms did not have an alarm clock or clock of any kind. When I asked the front desk, I was told that they were all out. Would have used my cellphone, but no plugs around the bed to keep it charged. Also found out that when lights are off, no power to any plugs in the room. My shower had not been cleaned from previous guest either and toilet did not flush well. All and all, bad experience. I try very hard to be positive but for this one, I would not recommend.

    3
    « Mmmm-maybe. »

The night I stayed it was the best rate of any OK motel in the Albany area. With that in mind, it was acceptable. It's one of those old-school properties with a central pool, completely surrounded by two stories of rooms: very humid, plenty of noise from the pool during pool hours. Unfortunately, after pool hours, late on Saturday night, it became a playground for a small group of extremely drunk young men. I dunno. This is more the kind of place I'd stay in if I had to, but I'd prefer not to have to.

    3
    « Meh »

My room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Felt safe. Great breakfast spread. Loved the indoor pool. My bed was perfect. The others who were also deployed for disaster services and no complaints and enjoyed their stay as well.

This is a great hotel, conveniently close to the airport, with quiet, comfortable rooms, friendly staff and great continental breakfast. Good shopping and eateries are found within walking distance. We would stay here again.

« Average place to stay »

The staff was very friendly, it's a great location right off I-87 and very close to the Albany airport. It's an average hotel, could use some updates around the hotel. Lobby is inviting and updated. Breakfast was your basic breakfast, nothing fancy. Our room faced the interstate so we could hear the traffic in the morning. Our mattresses seemed quite slept in as you could feel the indentations on the side of the bed next to the night stand. They could use new mattresses or maybe rotate the mattresses more often to evenly distribute the wear from people sleeping in them. Linens and pillows were nice and soft. It's an ok hotel for short stays.

« Okay Place to Stay »

Not a bad place to stay. Room had a bit of a musty smell, pillows had no shape. Though, the pool was great, beds comfortable and didn't hear any outside noise. Breakfast was really good as well. I would stay again - to only bring my own pillows and Febreeze to mask the smell.

« A little Dated, but clean and comfortable beds »

They have redone the lobby which looks good, but the breakfast room and guest rooms could use some updating. That being said, it is very inexpensive and included a breakfast buffet and the staff was very nice and accommodating. A great inexpensive place to stay for an overnight in Albany!

    « Needs updating!!! »

Great location but the rooms need a face lift. The bed was comfortable but the pillows smelled! The staff was very pleasant and check in and out was simple. Won't stay here again, there are other hotels in the area.

« Close to Airport. Early breakfast. »

Good priced place. You can tell its s bit older. The halls have been redone but still look dark. The rooms are clean but the bathroom is way outdated. Old shower, cracked skin etc. bed was comfortable. Their breakfast was one of the earliest I've seen at a hotel. 5:30a which is nice for early flights.
