"Don't recommend"

There was no sauna & the masseuse is also the person whom checked us in. The room was alright. The internet and signal was horrible. The sauna was closed. We stayed with our newborn it was alright but we would have loved for amenities & facilities to be better like the sauna to be working, the breakfast outside to be free from bird droppings & a massage that we would be asked about our pressure and not feel like we're getting scolding when we ask about the pressure.

"Wow"
Peter O, 16 Février 2020

We were met by Alexis the concierge who was incredibly helpful both with information about the hotel and then where to eat. Our room, 106 was an end room with a view of the lake. It was just stunning. The room was beautiful, well appointed and beautifully set out. Separate toilet and bathroom. Bed was very comfy

"Mixed feelings...but mostly positive"
Barmag, 12 Août 2019

This seemed to be the nicest hotel nearest the lake - and so it probably is. The trouble though is that most of the town is further away than the map suggests (hardly the hotel's fault!). The hotel is close to the lakeside, but somewhat in the middle of a recreation area for families. Although the surrounding area was busy, it was not noisy. Free parking is a bonus when you arrive at the modernistic hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful, and our room rather larger than we were expecting. Nice furnishings were slightly spoiled by the stained carpet. The restaurant is closed for dinner on Sunday AND Monday - and, you guessed it, we stayed on a Sunday and a Monday. We tried to book dinner when we booked the room, but at least they did contact us later to explain the situation (our fault for not checking, especially in France). Local dining options exist but are limited, so be warned! Breakfast on the first day was enjoyable (buffet style, in the roof top restaurant with lake and mountain views) with some of the best bacon you're likely to encounter in France. But on the second day...disaster! Some of the staff hadn't turned up, and most of the food had gone by the time we got there. To be fair, there were profuse apologies when we complained, and the charge was waived. The fitness centre was good for a small hotel, and the (indoor) pool was a decent size and not too busy. Worth considering if you plan to be in the area.

"Clean and fantastic lake view from balcony"
Titanium_Travellers, 04 Août 2019

We stayed here for a stopover from Chamonix-Mont-Blanc to lyon. For being diamond with BW we got a nice corner room (106) overlooking the lake and aquapark. The check in process took a bit time as room had to be double checked by staff but we got invited with a coffee which we much appreciated. The room had a nice size and the corner balcony was great with a table and 2 chairs and also 2 giant relax pillows. The double bed could have been bigger and the smell of chlorine at reception and hallway was too strong (comming from the hotels small inside pool). Thats also why we decided not to swim in the pool because of the chlorine. All in all a good stay but there is not much in the area. We left the next morning early to lyon so it was good for us.

"Good Stopover Hotel"
jeaniemac2016, 16 Août 2018

We stayed here on the way home from a lovely holiday. We liked the area, in fact, we'll try and come back as the area had a lot to offer in terms of sporting activities. The staff were friendly and helpful and found a secure place for our bikes. Rooms were clean and we had a lovely balcony from which we could see the lake and the outdoor pool. One teeny criticism is that we were told the restaurant was full but we tried anyway and we got in. I think, in future, if you stay here, book the restaurant at the same time you book the room. The restaurant was very good, staff were friendly and efficient. Dinner was excellent and we're really glad we managed to get in! Breakfast was more than adequate and sustained us for the journey home!

"Good stay"
choepie, 05 Août 2018

We stopped here with our family of 4 for one night on our way to the south. We had a suite and it served our needs perfect : the kids slept on one part of the suite and we could sleep in the main bedroom. The indoor swimming pool was a nice refreshment for a boiling hot august day. Nice, clean and silent room. Only 1 remark : the breakfast was a mess, very unorganised and while having such a nice expresso machine behond the bar : at breakfast the coffee came out of a patch. A pitty and a contrast with the area it was served : an excellent roof top terras. It's still recommended.

"Decidedly odd"
Nick_Strong115, 18 Mars 2018

My initially very positive impression didn't last the stay. On the good side are that it is modern, well-appointed, well-located and staff are professional. The room was similarly pleasant and very spacious. Counterbalancing that . . . - the room was spacious, with an enormous 'foyer' area and a range of three large wardrobes. However, the bed recess was not so generous (it could easily have been) such that there was only a narrow gap between the bed and the wall to each side. - similarly, there was a separate toilet but its compartment was so small as to require the door to open outwards. Absolutely no need for that bearing in mind the excess of space elsewhere. - there's a good desk area, but no convenient electrical outlets to plug in a computer. I had to unplug the drinks kettle to do so. Coffee provided but only green tea. - breakfast was a shambles, with the buffet set out along a wall with adjacent tables so close that people sitting there had to shift out of the way to enable people to serve themselves who then had to push their way back. This congestion meant that queues built up, people frustrated and muttering. The sophisticated coffee machine required expertise and familiarity in order to operate. - the food (I had supper and a minimal breakfast) was passable without being outstanding. - finally, the hotel is arranged in three separate zones: two bedroom zones on first and second floors and the restaurant on the third floor. There is no connection between the zones, so one cannot get to the restaurant without going down to reception in one lift (there are three) and then up in the separate third floor lift. Mad !

"Good location on Le Petit Port"
MumsieDevonUK, 20 Août 2017

This is basically a good hotel in an attractive location BUT we arrived late afternoon on August 15th which turned out to be a festival day in Aix Les Bains-as well as other parts of France. We had to get through a road block to access the hotel- our name was on a list of people to be allowed access, then found that the hotel restaurant was fully booked so we had a long walk to find dinner. As we have health issues this caused us a few problems which affected our enjoyment of the next day- advance warning of these issues would have been appreciated so that we could have booked dinner.

"Good hotel"
aria2012, 29 Juillet 2017

Good hotel overall, very comfortable bed, renovated bathrooms, A/C works, wifi works, quiet, heated towel rack is a bonus. Excellent location near the lake. Friendly staff, excellent service. A few things were missing during our stay: only decaffeinated coffee with the kettle (no regular coffee), towels are small and there was only a single set where the room was reserved for two (this was very promptly fixed upon request). As is common with many hotels, there is not enough light in the room. Toilet room separate from the bathroom (which is good) however there is no sink in the toilet.

"Don't be put off by the odd exterior - it's OK"
cant83, 04 Juillet 2017

This hotel from the outside looks like a damaged Rubik's cube, but it's actually perfectly comfortable inside. We were on the first floor, had a balcony, large well functioning bedroom / bathroom. We enjoyed the pool and sauna, though the "hot" tub probably qualified only as "warm" on the day we tried it out. Breakfast on the 3rd floor terrace was a delight with gorgeous unimpeded views over the Lac Bourget. The location by the lake is less than a 15 minute walk from the center of town. We were glad to be staying by the lake as the town center was slightly dull.

"Motorcycle Touring Stay - couple from N. Ireland"
Richard W, 30 Octobre 2016

We stayed here on our way back from Italy on a motorcycle touring holiday. Lovely modern basic hotel right beside the lake (2 mins walk away). Rooms and hotel clean and tidy and staff friendly (although we had to wait for a while at the bar as the one girl on reception had to do everything) downstairs. Parking to the front of the hotel for locking the bike up right outside, but seems like a very quiet, safe area. The lake and walk around along it are littered with crepe shops and small bar areas for a quiet drink along a stunning stretch of mountain scenes. We had dinner in the hotel which was excellent and well priced. Breakfast was good French standard breakfast with plenty of choice in a buffet style. We did not try the spa. Overall, great stop over hotel if looking for a quiet place to walk in the evening and have a quiet drink.

"Our weekend!"
Malva M, 16 Octobre 2016

We decided to stay a weekend in Aix Les Bain without our kids to rest; we choose this hotel also for the spa imaging to spend few ours for ourselves. Unluckily the spa is out of order: broken sauna, cold water in the jacuzzi and on top a dirty water pool. Very good breakfast on the nice top floor. If you choose this hotel for the spa it's a mistake, if it's just to spend time in Aix Les Bain can be nice.

"great stay at this hotel"
Asiamimigrace, 01 Octobre 2016

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were on a bike tour, so the staff were very helpful at helping us store the bikes. The staff were generally very kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and well furnished, and the restaurant terrace has a lovely view of Lac du Bourget. The hotel is very well situated next to the lakefront promenade. The hotel pool was very nice.

"Great location"
jsopreis, 01 Avril 2016

Great hotel in a great location. The rooms are large and clean. The restaurant has spectacular views over the lake, and staff is really helpful and friendly. Highly recommended when you visit Aix-les-Bains.

"Nice lake side Hotel, great views from the Lounge / Restaurant on Level 3."
Matt00000, 29 Septembre 2015

We spend one night at this place. We experienced some troubles to to find the place, especially by asking our GPS. The place is neat, clean and quite modern. We had a late dinner and a breakfast in the rooftop Restaurant. Freindly service and good chice of food. The breakfast is french buffet style and quite ok.

"Lunch visit"
StanleyB414, 22 Septembre 2015

When walking around the lake nearby we chanced to spot the balcony restaurant. We received good service from a friendly waiter and enjoyed a nice meal. Obviously popular with local people which is usually a good sign.

"Very poor"
VickiGL, 09 Août 2015

Stayed for three nights when cycling and really would not recommend the hotel for anything other than a quick one night stopover when on route for somewhere else. Certainly do not choose this hotel as your destination! Staff were unhelpful. Restaurant truly dreadful - and I mean truly dreadful, think dry, inedible chicken, no bowls at breakfast, slow service (food was included in our stay but we ended up eating out). All rooms overlook the car park or apartments next door and you certainly wouldn't sit on your balcony. Two tiny thin towels in bathroom, ants in the bedroom, room not serviced until 5pm. I could go on but you get the picture I hope!

"Week end stayover."
BRIAN C, 09 Octobre 2014

Stayed for three nights over last weekend. Hotel is out of town and close to the lake. Passing traffic is limited in numbers as the hotel is away from the main road running north/south along the lake. Most passing traffic heads in to lakeside car parking at Le Petit Port. The photo that leads the tripadvisor page is taken from the third floor terrace area of the restaurant. Most if not all rooms facing the lake will have views of either the apartments next door or trees. No impact to us as when we booked we were not going for one with a lake view. The hotel is modern in every way; architecture, internal layout, furniture etc etc. Impressed with the width of the corridors as normally in modern hotels of a similar standard which we find uncompromising when two people going in opposite directions pass each other. Our room was spacious although a little unusual in its layout; a decent step up from a Premier Inn which we use all the time in the UK. Could have done with a decent chair in it. The bed was great for both comfort and size; we hate pokey small beds. We had no problems with noise; room 118. All hotel staff, that we met, were welcoming, friendly, considerate and professional. We enjoyed meeting them. We tried the restaurant on our first night and were happy to go back on the second night. On the third night, we had an appointment elsewhere. A fairly small menu list but on both days we were delighted with our choice and put Premier Inns to shame. Our only concern was a chocolate fondant that turned up as a chocolate cake; albeit a good one. If you are going to be out most of the day and just want somewhere to lay your head as we usually do this hotel is a good choice. This was our first visit to Aix les Bains. If we return we see no arguments about using the hotel again.

"Moto bike touring"
Ian S, 26 Septembre 2014

Our second visit, to this hotel, we chose a room with balcony and lake view, . Had 2 small issues, with plumbing , but dealt with very efficiently, all staff very helpful, and no issues with our lack of French, had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, all very nice, but the fruit salad at breakfast at times looked as with the fruit was going brown. The scenery in the area is superb and we had a boat trip on the lac, we used public transport at times easily accessible, and felt the bike was safe at all times .

"Disappointing"
michelel103, 23 Septembre 2014

Felt like a business hotel not leisure, spa not owned by the hotel you will not get in there for classes!! Also no views even though paid for the superior room for these told unfortunately the tree's had grown!! Very rude kitchen member a breakfast banging items around us and told no to having any scrambled egg that had run out even though within the breakfast times.

"over-rated hotel"
A_Star_000, 30 Août 2014

The location and overall setting of the hotel is very nice but the it was hotel was not clean. The plates, cups in the dinning room were not cleaned properly you could see food remains on them. The bathroom was not cleaned properly.
