Wide overhanging eaves and louvered windows throughout allow the cool tropical breeze to flow through your spacious self-contained apartment. Each unit has a balcony or patio overlooking either the pool area or the Conway National Park. The barbeque is next to the large pool and outdoor spa, nestled into a level grassed area creating a calm relaxed atmosphere for you to enjoy and is surrounded by lush tropical gardens and cool fresh-water lily ponds. We are idealy located within walking distance (1. 5 kms) of Airlie Beach, only a 20 minute walk from the heart of town but peaceful enough to be miles away. The Whitsunday Transit bus runs past about every 40 minutes and Whitsunday Taxis are also at your service. Within a very short walk is the Jubilee Tavern for cooked breakfasts, lunches and dinner with specials every night. Just across the road is a 7 day IGA supermarket to cater for all your requirements while you stay in your self-contained unit. Enjoy your stay.

« Beautiful Place to Stay....(Even during a "Zombie" Cyclone) »

We stayed at this beautiful hotel for 4 nights during April 2018 while "Zombie" Cyclone Iris swept by The Whitsundays and, seeing as we didn't get out much due to the weather, we had a lot of time to appreciate what a great choice in accommodation Best Western Mango House Resort really is. Located at Jubilee Pocket, Mango House is a $10 taxi drive away from the Hamilton Island ferry terminal and 25 minute walk (or 5 minute bus ride) from Airlie Beach centre. The quiet location was perfect for us non-party animals and, with a pub and bottle shop across the road and a supermarket and café next door, it was ideally situated for a self catering stay. We were given an excellent upstairs self contained apartment which was clean and well equipped. It was open plan in design and comprised of a full kitchen with dishwasher, microwave & large fridge freezer, a comfortable & spacious lounge and dining area, a well appointed bathroom with washing machine and tumble dryer, a separate toilet and, most importantly, a nice sized bedroom with large wardrobe and extremely comfortable bed. The lounge area had glazed doors heading out onto a furnished balcony with a pool view & external stair access to the lovely pool & garden area. The bedroom had slatted windows (which would have been perfect for channelling a cool breeze during hot weather) and were very secure when shut so we felt very safe inside considering the oncoming bad weather. There was plenty of parking available and the gardens were well maintained. Even though we didn't get to go in the pool, it was a nice size. Peter and Pam were fantastic hosts, replying to the many email queries I sent before arriving (sorry again for the bombardment, Peter LOL) and they and their staff went out of their way to reassure us of our safety and what to do if the winds and rain got too severe. We really enjoyed our stay (despite being house bound most of the time with the weather - thank goodness for the Bottle shop and the TV - LOL) and, with that in mind, we hope to stay here again should we ever get back to Airlie Beach..... and you can't get higher recommendation than that!

« Out of town accommodation »

Couldn't quite get my head around this place. It's advertised as a Best Western but each apartment is owned privately so each accommodation and interior would be different. The complex is managed by a very friendly couple who are happy to call a taxi or book a trip. As we were staying 5 days the lady owner offered us the ussr of her car, which was very trusting. We didn't take up the offer as we found walking around the area took up much of our time plus a trip to Whitehaven Beach. Our apartment was one bedroomed. It comprised of a spacious lounge cum kitchen/diner, bathroom with laundry facilities and separate toilet. Surprisingly a few places we stayed at in Australia did not provide scissors with the kitchen utensils. We would have found this useful on our trip. Also noted the utensils and cutlery needed a good clean as they felt greasy and the cutlery tray was dirty. Don't know who is responsible for the cleaning, the management or owners of the apartment who sub contract the cleaners but I would recommend this was addressed for future users. There were lots of tiny insects in the kitchen area so food preparation was a challenge. We realise it's an area of high humidity and also heat so unsure what would remedy the removal of the insects or whether locals just accept the fact. There is a large swimming pool with separate jacuzzi in the middle of the complex. The gardens are lush and colourful and there is a lily pool to one side. The complex is out of Airlie Beach. A taxi ride costs about $10 each way. The bus is an alternative running approximately every 20minutes but it costs nearly as much as a taxi. Walking is 20-30minutes into town.

    « Good Stay »

Very impressed with size of unit, like a 1Bedrm apt. Complete Kitchen, large fridge, DW, washer dryer. Parking right @ entrance. Covered grill & prep area by Pool & hot tub. Lovely flowering shrubs & lawn. Patio table & chairs by the unit's sliding glass doors leading to this area. Very pleasant area to enjoy. Helpful hotel owners. Stayed 2 nights, seems like a few Cockatoo make a regular appearance each pm. They rest on the balcony rails & watch the people around the spacious pool. Would definitely return to this motel if we make a return trip to the area. Hotel is easy to find, it's a very few minutes drive to the town. Grocery store right across the street, restaurant & sports bar 2 minute walk.

    « Excellent choice »

« this place is a gem! Enjoyed it soo much! »

We loved it here! The owners are very friendly and we got a free update on the top floor to an appartment unit. The only thing i missed in the room was a full bathtub. There was even a washing machine, dryer and full equipped kitchen. As we were on the first floor overlooking the pool we where so Lucky the white wild cockatoes came to our balcony every day if you leave them some biscuits, they even eat from the hand, as an animal lover this was a real bonus for me, i'm so glad they told me about them. Cannot wait to return here, loved everything about this place

    « Fantastic stay »

We stayed at mango house resort for 2 nights, we had a studio on the first floor overlooking the pool. Excellent stay, spacious room, clean, air con and fans, free WiFi, great kitchen facilities. Very comfortable bed, great nights sleep.Supermarket across the road with everything you need. Our room had balcony overlooking pool, lovely to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet with a cup of tea in the morning. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much. We enjoyed the leisurely walk to Airlie Beach, approx 35 mins, just make sure you put sun cream on even when cloudy! Should we ever return we would definitely stay at this hotel, would certainly recommend to anyone else.

« Great place to stay! »

We stayed here for three nights and thought that best western mango house resort was great. Pros: Excellent price Great cleanliness Lovely pool Supermarket next door Spacious rooms Air conditioning and fans Comfy beds Free WiFi Washing machine and tumble dryers in one bed apartment were really useful! Good cooking facilities in kitchen. Cons: The only negative thing about this hotel was its location out of town, we ended up getting taxis to and from Airlie Beach as due to the heat we didn't want the long walk, estimated 30-45 mins in to town. There is a really good local taxi service so it wasn't too much of an issue. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at mango house resort and would certainly recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in the area! The only reason that we haven't given a score of 5 was due to the location.

    « Nice stay »

We stayed here for 4 nights, we had a ground floor poolside apartment which was very basic however met our needs. The owner Peter was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. He booked our trip to the barrier reef for us and advised us what trip would be best for snorkelling. The pool area was lovely and the apartments were in a decent location not too far from the Main Street in Airlie, either a 20 minute walk or we got a taxi which took 5 minutes there was a bus but we tended to either walk or get a taxi. The only downside really was the ants in the apartment which seemed to get everywhere and we would have preferred to have a safety deposit box in our room rather than just passing our money/passports to the reception who locked it away, however we didn't get any sort of receipt etc to say it was ours. Overall a nice stay the barrier reef snorkelling trip was amazing and the white haven beach was beautiful. Would stay here again if we were back in the area!

« would not stay again »

Very very disappointed with our stay at the Mango House, we stayed for 2 nights at this hotel as we had a trip booked for the Whitsundays which left from Airlie port so was a short taxi ride but a little too far to walk into town. After reading brilliant reviews on how helpful the owners were, we were looking forward to our trip however, check in was awful! The keys were just handed to us, no welcome or any information given to us about the hotel or surrounding areas. I found both Pam & Peter very unapproachable, it was as if they did not want to be there. The rooms are very dated and the air con was not the best, the room had 2 fans in it but they were too noisy to have on in the nights. The room was clean enough and had a washing machine & tumble dryer. Would definitely pay the extra to stay closer in the future! Airlie Beach was lovely, had a beautiful lagoon and lots of bars & restaurants.

    « Average »

Although the rooms were clean, the hotel in general is worn down and needs refreshing. The pool was nice if it wasn't for the non cleaned band of grease on the tiles at water level. Bad value for money. Personnel was nice.

    2
« Overpriced for the quality »

We feel we have paid way too much for the rooms! Very much worn out and old. Need some remodeling and refreshing or at least drop the prices! Better stay somewhere else in the meantime! We were very disappointed compared to what we paid in Port Douglas, Cairns, Townsville, Brisbane and Byron Bay. We thought we would get the same quality level for the price but did not. Only good point: the pool area was nice.

« Best western - much better than you would expect »

The hotel does not offer breakfast and is for self-serve only. We got an upgrade upon arrival to a room with a spacious living room, washing machine, dish washer, large fridge and pool view - the rooms were tidy and clean. Open wireless internet everywhere. The pool was very nice and nicely located, surrounded by nice flowers. Access to pool was directly via balcony.

« 2 nights at mango house resort »

Rooms were very clean, good location, 2 minute taxi ride into town. Very quiet location and the hosts Pam and Pete couldn't help us enough. Definitely recommend this lovely self catered hotel. Whitehaven beach is breathtaking

    « Mango House »

Could not be any happier with accommodation and location . Pam was so friendly and extremely helpful: sorting us with public transport, suggesting and booking tours and overall ensuring our visit to Airlie Beach was enjoyable. A pub across the road , bus stop within a minute walk and a supermarket next to accommodation - everything was so easy. Self contained room was great , especially with Washing machine and clothes dryer. Highly recommend Mango House

« Great Place to stay »

This hotel is in a great location just a 20 minute walk from the main part of Airlie Beach (5 minutes in a cab). It's in a quiet spot with a supermarket right next to it. The apartments are big, clean and contain every thing you need for your stay. There's a big fridge freezer, great cooking facilities, air con, fans and a decent sized, comfortable bed all for a very affordable price. The owner is really helpful and friendly and will cater to all your needs. I'd recommend staying at this hotel when visiting Airlie Beach.

    5
« Very relaxed and lovely place to stay »

Nice clean and functional room, poolside, with a lovely balcony which was great for being entertained by the Cockatoos! Located a little out of Airlie Beach, but we enjoyed the 20 minute or so walk in and back. There is a bus stop close by but we did not bother. There is a supermarket just across the road and a bottle shop, for, the more essential supplies, 5 minutes walk away. Pool and gardens very well kept with a nice BBQ area set at the end. Owners always ready to offer advice on things to do should you require assistance. If we return to this part of the world again I would not hesitate to stay here.

    2
    « Not clean »

We booked this hotel for 3 nights and only ended up staying for two. The room was dated, one of us had to sleep on the sofa as twin rooms were not available which was essentially like sleeping on a wooden box. The air con did not work. There were ants everywhere on the walls, worktop. When we went to clean the ants from the work top we moved the microwave which looked like it hadn't been cleaned under there for years. No wonder there was ants. There was thick dust on the skirting boards, bathroom towels rail and window shutters and when you walked around barefoot your feet turned black. Just generally needs better cleanliness. We ended up leaving early because there was ants on the wall next to the sofa ?bed'. Surprised it's a best western chain.

I recently stayed at Mango house resort with my sister. We can't praise it enough. The apartment, the pool and the gardens were immaculately clean and the caretakers were extremely accommodating, friendly and very helpful. We loved our stay there and would not hesitate if we had a chance to return. A great big tick from us!!!

« If you are in the area don't stay here »

The parting words of the owner. Never have truer words been said in jest. Before we stayed I had queried the charge for having fresh towels each day. This must have upset the owner because we got a frosty reception at check in. Explained nothing and just gave us the keys. Nothing luxurious about the room and indeed no space to put even the basic toiletries in the bathroom. Would have rated the experience average. Sadly on the 1st night unaware to us the air conditioning flooded our living area. 2nd day ditto albeit by now towels were on the floor. To be fair the owner did not charge us for either night. However as Peter the owner said we won't be staying here again

    « Mango House Stay »

No bells and whistles but quiet and relaxing with a pool and spa that is refreshing and roomy. We stay here twice a year and find it comfortable and affordable. Beautiful gardens and a bbq area. Close to shops and tavern. Bus stop at door. Easy walk into town. Tours can be arranged at office. Owners very pleasant to deal with.

    « Back Home Again »

This was our 4th stay at Mango House and really enjoyed our 3 weeks. We live in UK and booked our stay in January 2017, before Storm Debbie hit the region in March 2017 and so wondered what the damage would be. The whole area seems to have recovered well, apart from some hard hit Islands etc. Mango House had some trees down but not significantly affected, apart from the few days following the storm. We were able to do the activities we planned, and they included the Bush Walks around Mount Rooper, Honeyeater Lookout etc - the National Parks Service seem to have done a great job in clearing the trees from the walk. Looking forward to going back next year and thank Pam and Pete for their hospitality and great management of the Resort. Pam does a wonderful job in the gardens, she displays a real passion for this. Roseanne works very hard to maintain the accommodation and we are very grateful for her efforts which did allow us to have a late checkout for our flight. I know that Pete always keeps check on TA reviews and thanks to all at Mango House for our wonderful holiday.

    « Great hosts. »

We had a wonderful time at Mango house, hosts very down to earth people. Pam went out of her way to make sure we went out and experienced Whitehaven and went sailing, enjoyed the sunshine.Airle has done a wonder job of getting back to normal.Pam and Peter have been a big part of restoring and helping people achieve this, they care allot for their local area. Mango house is situated in Jubilee Pocket. Lovely location, lovely hosts, would recommend Mango house.

    « Fantastic! »

Stayed at Mango House for a week with my daughter, mother and sister and nephews and we had a wonderful time. The apartments are spacious and welcoming and the relaxed atmosphere of the resort was just what we needed. Pam and Pete are really lovely hosts with a wealth of knowledge about the Whitsundays and nothing is too much trouble. The pool area is great to relax around especially with kids if you just want to laze away the days. Will definitely be returning.

« A wonderful stay at Mango House! »

We stayed at Mango House for a week with our 2 kids who are 9 and 12. It was a fabulous place for a nice and relaxed family holiday. The pool is amazing and Pam and Pete were super helpful and so kind, making our stay one to remember. The tropical gardens are beautiful, and the accommodation has everything a family needs. Highly recommend Mango House, we will be back! Thanks so much.

« 2 weeks of pure bliss at Mango House Resort! »

We spent the entire 2 weeks of our school holidays at Mango House Resort and I cannot fault it. From the moment we arrived, hosts Pam and Pete made us feel truly welcomed, like we were part of their extended family. Our apartment was clean and cool and modern. The pool and gardens were immaculate and such an inviting place to just hang out with a cold drink and a book. The kitchen and laundry facilities were great, as too the brand new BBQ! With two young teenage girls, there was plenty to do for everyone. And so close to the town of Airlie. We will certainly be back - and not soon enough!! Thank you Mango House. Keep that Pimms on ice Pam! :)

« A great week at Mango House! »

Just returned home from a week at Airlie Beach and missing the warmth, laid back vibes and friendliness of Mango House. Holidays with toddler are never going to be relaxing, but the room, gardens and pool at Mango House provide a great space for the little ones. Pam and Pete are the most welcoming, informative and entertaining hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks for a brilliant week, can't wait to be back in the sunshine drinking a cold Pimms!

    « We needed a break »

From the moment we arrived which was three hours before check in time we felt welcome. We had planed to leave our bags at reception and fill in the time wandering around but to our delight we were not only given a free upgrade to a large poolside studio we were checked in early which was a delight after a 4.00am start to day one of the holiday. Our hosts Peter & Pam couldn't have done more to make us feel at home, at one stage even driving us in to town and giving us a guided tour of Airlie. The gardens and pool were beautiful and just a delight to laze around in. The room was clean and comfortable and felt like a true QLD resort not a concrete jungle.

    « Enjoyed my stay »

Friendly staff and nice room / apartment. Clean, well cared for all the facilities I needed while I visited the great barrier reef. No restaurant on site but tavern across the road as well as a supermarket and cafe the other direction. Convenient, too, for Whitsunday Dive Academy.

    1
    « Not pleasant »

The room was tired and unloved, and the bed was a poor mattress on a wooden plinth with dirty blankets. There was no wifi in the room. The distance from the town was quite far and involved a $10 taxi fare if you didn't get the bus. The photos of the hotel were very misleading.

« Super place and great value »

We spent 4 nights at this resort and would like to have stayed longer. We had a large apartment consisting of bedroom, sitting room/kitchen, bathroom and terrace overlooking the pool area. It was very well equipped and even had its own washing machine and dryer. Morning and evening visits to the terrace by local cockatoos were an added pleasure. The Jubilee Tavern is 5 minutes walk away, is a barn of a place but serves quite good food and offers a 10% discount on food if you show your room key. There's a very adequate supermarket across the road. Airlie Beach centre is a half hour walk, though a bus stops outside the resort. It's best to have your own car. There's parking under the apartments. The cost per night was the most reasonable we experienced in a month of touring and the resort was certainly one of the nicest. Airlie Beach was still still recovering from the cyclone earlier in 2017 - half the restaurants are still closed - but this resort recovered quickly due to hard work by the owners.

    « Lovely Airlie stop »

Very helpful host Peter. Accommodation set in relaxing environment, overlooking the pool and gardens, across the road from a cafe and supermarket, easy drive to attractions, undercover parking available

    5
    « Cockatoo Delight »

Book through booking.com but contacted to ensure all was still good after cyclone earlier this year. Spoke with Peter the manager and couldn't of been happier with his service. He was easy to speak with and advised me to contact him directly next time for an even better deal. We were an original party of 6 attending a wedding but ended up a party of 2 Peter went out of his way to adjust our booking so we weren't liable for the extra cost, something he didn't have to do but was greatly appreciated. The one bedroom apartment was roomy and could sleep up to 4 with soda lounges in the main area. Fully self contained unit very clean and well maintained, we were in a poolside room with a balcony overlooking the pool and garden all well cared for. There is plenty of parking and close to Airlie main strip and marina. There is an IGA right opposite and a local pub with lovely walking track all around. We had a few visitors drop in to say hi the friendly cockatoos that we took great pleasure in hand feeding. At one stage we had 9 sitting on our balcony, I would highly recommend this establishment for a clean and affordable option when visiting Airlie Beach.

    « Could be better.... »

I was expecting more from Mango House, mainly because it's part of an international chain. The overall infra structure was good but the cleanliness could be much better, on top of that, the room needs to be renovated, mainly the toilet area, which is already showing signs of usage. The hotel is a little bit far from the city centre, you will spend around 20-25 minutes walking or you can catch a bus right in front of the hotel, which will shorten the travel time to around 5 minutes. I'm attaching few photos I took related to the issues I've described.

    3
    « Ok place »

This place bed ,kitchen and bathroom was ok but the walls and doors were very dusty to be fair all amenities were clean would suite family more than couples It's a bit noisy being close by the road but good under cover parking

    5
« Lovely place to stay in paradise »

Lovely units, which recommend the poolside units with great balcony where you can eat/drink while cockatoos visit. Good size pool, with contains shallow sections for little kids. Nice sun loungers and plenty of places to move to for the sun. Comfy beds, hot showers and nicely equipped kitchen. Across the road is supermarket, coffee place and hotel with good steak meals that get 10% discount on if show room key. Wifi worked well and friendly assistance from reception. Great value and highly recommended.

    « Perfect getaway »

We stay at Mango house at least once a year and there is a great reason we always come back. It really is perfect accomodation for a couple or family as it's a little bit out of hustle and bussel and the rooms have everything you need for a relaxing & easy getaway. There is a great pool and sun loungers for you relax and read a book and it's only a 15-20 minute stroll into airlie township. What more could you ask for?

« Great location. Clean and family friendly. »

We stayed here at short notice in a family style room. Reasonably priced rooms which are very clean and tidy and are self contained. Washer, dryer, kitchenette. Local supermarket across the road and local Tavern 150m walk. Tavern has great food, reasonably priced. Best Western Mango resort can also organise tours. Would recommend and definitely stay here again.

« Great Value, Spacious Rooms »

I ended up having a lovely stay! Honestly I was slightly sketched upon arrival to find that the office was closed and my key and room info was just on the door for me (travelling alone I get nervous easily), but I found I had received a free upgrade and everything was fine and all taken care of. I needed the wifi password so called the hotel, doubting anyone would answer since the lobby was closed, but they pick up and I was able to connect! My first full day there I had a chat with the owners, and they are such lovely people. They took great care of me, and since I was travelling alone I very much appreciated their willingness to talk and help me with any questions I had. They even called around to some tours when one of my original bookings was cancelled to see if they were operating and could fit me in. (None of them could, but the fact that they tried was just above and beyond what I could have expected). Thank you for making me feel so welcome! I will definitely suggest your place to anyone travelling your way in the future.

« Great room, good location, friendly owners and resident cockatoo »

We were given a poolside room on the 1st floor which was superb. There was a stairway from our balcony straight to the very attractive pool area (the pool is a lot bigger than most). The suite had a lounge room, attached kitchen with full size fridge, separate bathroom and toilet. There was even a free washing machine and drier in a cupboard in the bathroom. The rooms were well appointed with two sofas, adequate cooking equipment and we could not fault the cleanliness. We dealt with Peter on reception who was very helpful and considerate. The resort is a couple of kilometres from central Airlie, which is a good thing as it is so much quieter, and has a tavern, supermarket and cafe within 200 metres. We even had a visit from a well behaved sulphur crested cockatoo while having drinks on the balcony. Bring some crackers and hand feed the bird!

« Fantastic value for money »

Having stayed at Mango House on an annual basis for the past 10 years speaks volumes for both the management and the facilities offered; it really provides a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Airlie Beach township. I have always found the apartments (I choose to stay in the one bedroom suites) spotlessly clean and well presented. The facilities include a washing machine and dryer, dishwasher, stove, microwave and are fully airconditioned; a must in the summer months. The resort itself is about 1.5km past the town but has easy access to the bus service if you don't have a car. There is an IGA supermarket directly opposite and the Jubilee Tavern a 2 minute walk away. A well maintained bbq area overlooks the pool and spa and provides a great place to relax and enjoy the visiting cockatoos and lorikeets in the late afternoons. Mango House delivers on all fronts. Fantastic management who are willing to advise and help if needed, beautifully maintained grounds and rates that make it affordable for most travellers.

« How is this rated so well ???? »

This hotel was not even close to what we expected! We changed rooms 3 times and all were horrible! This place looked nice online and had good reviews but was repulsive. It's old and very unclean. The first room had broken glass all over the patio, the second room had poop smeared on the toilet seat. Two obvious things that maids should have cleaned. There was also scuffs in the walls, dirt on the floor, lots of dust and dead insects. We actually left and went somewhere else. I am not rich and not use to staying in fancy places and have never left a place after booking it before. I just don't understand how this place has good reviews, it is probably one of the worst hotels (excluding some very cheap hostels) that I have stayed at. One good thing about this place is the polite staff. The few staff we encountered at our short stay were friendly and respectful about our choice to leave. We felt bad leaving, we didn't want to seem stuck up, but the cleanliness just wasn't up to par .

    « Excellent value »

Great location - quiet and within easy distance to the town centre. Across the road from a supermarket one way and a great cheap eats pub and bottle shop the other. The accommodation is excellent with a great pool in the centre. The rooms/apartments are large and with full facilities. They are clean, tidy and even though in need of updating have everything needed. Friendly management who give good sensible advice.

    « A garden paradise resort »

Spending some time here at beautiful Mango House. It is such a peaceful resort and from the moment l arrive it feels like home. The resident managers Pete and Pam are always around to welcome you and are very helpful and knowledgeable with things to do around the Whitsundays. The rooms are clean and the larger one bedroom apartments are fully self contained and look over the large and atractive pool and manicured gardens. Great location as it is a little away from town so quiet and secluded and there is a supermarket across the road and a tavern with great meals and a bottle shop. The bus stop is a two minute walk and buses run every half hour to town and larger shopping plazas. A great value resort which never disappoints.

    « An amazing experience »

I stayed at Mango house resort for a few nights after the cyclone. There was no power but there was plenty of spirit and assistance. The management team consisting of Pam and Pete were amazing, along with a permanent resident. Pam and renee went above and beyond their means and obligations. The hospitality, conversations, high spirits, home cooked meals on the BBQ and consistent offering of their personal time and efforts is something I haven't experienced especially in such a chaotic time. It's a huge hats off to them and massive thank you. Would recommend this place to anybody looking for a comfortable and hospitable place. Great sense of humour and fantastic personality all round.

« A peaceful retreat with great value for money »

I arrived at Airlie Beach around 9:45am after a 14 hour coach trip so I was worried I would have to kick my heels until the 2pm check in time. Fortunately when getting to Mango House I was greeted by Peter (the owner/manager) who very kindly allowed me to check in immediately and also upgraded me to a pool side apartment for no extra cost - for this I will be eternally grateful! Peter is a straight forward guy and is genuinely interested in helping out his guests. The apartment was large with separate toilet, shower plus a living room, kitchen and separate double bedroom. Just about everything I needed for my 3 night stay. Great air con and ceiling fans meant a cool stay. It is far away from the backpacker centre of Airlie Beach so if you like a quiet night then this is the place to stay. For food shopping I did try the supermarket across the road but to be honest preferred to shop at Woolworths food store in Airlie town, as the choice and quality of food is far superior. It can be walked in about 25 minutes or if you are like me I preferred to get the bus which stops pretty much outside the hotel and runs a couple of times an hour during the day. If you buy a "daily ticket" then you can use the bus all day for the price of 2 singles (Just under 6 dollars). Across the road is a decent pub with food and also a coffee shop in the little shopping area opposite. To be balanced I guess I should point out any negatives - the only thing I can think of is that the decor and sofas are slightly dated and the extractor fans in the toilet and bathroom a bit noisy - for me I have no problem this but it is noted here anyway. If people want 5 star luxury then it's best to pay for a 5 star hotel and get all the gloss and false welcomes you get in places like that but if people want a very good value for money hotel with a straight forward genuine guy running it then this is well worth looking at. The day I checked out was the day before cyclone Debbie arrived in Airlie Beach so I do hope all is well with everyone in the town. It is a 15 minute walk to the port where the Reef and Whitsunday Island ferries depart from - or again the bus can get you there a lot quicker. Some buses go into the port whereas some just go past the road end of the port so take care where you are getting off! This is a beautiful part of the country and the setting of Mango Beach Hotel is very pleasant. Again, a big thanks to Peter for his assistance and letting me have my room 4 hours early!

    « Needs a good clean »

Stayed two nights and the AC had mould all through it, which has the potential to make you serioulsy unwell. It was disgusting and very off putting. Very noise AC as well. There was mould in the shower and I felt grubby being in it. The place was generally unclean, which was obvious when you walked into reception, as that was incredibly untidy and dirty. Very old and tired. Easy to access and free on site parking. IGA and tavern across the road. So good in that sense. Place needs a good clean and a birthday.

This offered everything we needed in between trips around the Whitsundays. The owners were very helpful, the facilities are good and the grounds are beautifully kept. There is a supermarket opposite and the Port of Airlie is 1 mile away. More luxurious accommodation is available in Airlie but you'll have to pay a lot more. This place is good value for money.

Great place to stay! Real quality at a reasonable price. Great location as a base for trips to ´The Reef' . We had a what could only be described as an apartment! All facilities including a decent kitchen, washing machine and tumble dryer. Beautiful pool and spa ! Highly recommend

What a joy to be staying here. The review is a bit outdated because i was here in the year 2014. The owner is a really friendly guy and he helps out wherever he can. See him for tips and tricks to do and see while staying here and he'll surely send you somewhere fun. Great accommodation and small butt nice pool!

Back to Airlie again, this time for a family party. When not staying with the fam we always stay here. Love the poolside room and birds that make all sorts of noises to wake you. Sulphur crested cockatoos visit each afternoon Good value

Good place to stay in Airlie Beach. Spacious and well equipped studio. Everything you want for one or more nights stay. Cooking, washing, bathing facilities. Shop opposite for all essentials. Close to other amenities, including pub and bottle shop.

« Top 4 nights stay at bargain price »

Booked this place at the start of the year as it had such great reviews. We were not disappointed. It is not a new place but that sure is more than made up for by the friendliness and easy going of the owner, the lush rain forest surroundings and great layout of the units. We booked a studio and were upgraded free of charge to a large upstairs poolside apartment with all the nick nacks you could ask for. If you are not worried about missing out on ocean views then this place is THE place to book. We have stayed at other places in Airlie Beach before but will definitely be using this again on our next visit.

very good location for some one with a car. Very spacious and comfortable Nice environment in the garden and swimming pool. Access to first floor apartments only by staircase which can be a problem for some people. Good parking facilities nearby each apartment. People are very nice and efficient in solving all possible issues.

« Friendly staff cleanliness needs work! »

Cheap stay at $150 per night for 2 bedroom. (4 of us) I side was a 1 bedroom with lounge 2 single sofa beds, table with 4 chairs, full kitchen, balcony with stairs to the pool and a bathroom, the other side a studio with double bed and single sofa bed, bathroom, kitchen unit with microwave, kettle and toaster, utensils, etc, no cooktop, mini fridge, electric pan, balcony looking to the street, Both sides had washer and dryer! Beds and towels changed after 7 nights. We washed and dried the towels often anyway! Staff friendly and accommodating with the parking of our boat. They organised for us to park in the front yard of a house within the grounds of the resort! Thank you to the lady for allowing us your an angel ?? Just could do with a really good clean! It's only really surfaced cleaned! A fresh coat of paint and clean the shutters and fans. Mini ants everywhere! You do expect in the tropics just got some surface spray to sort them out! Had to keep reapplying every other day though! Beds comfy and clean though. If your in the studio not much storage just a little open hanging Area for a clothes and a stool. No cupboards other than where the crockery is kept. Would stay again though. Can't beat the price for what you get. Pool area lovely, BBQ could do with a light and maybe a tap or sink close. You can go up to the room though just not as easy! Utensils provided on a chain at the BBQ. IGA, cafe and tavern with bottle shop across the road. Overall great place to stay 2km from Airlie. On the Airlie port side easy walk for the boat ramp and most Whitsunday cruises! Flattish walk!

« Great value for money! »

We stayed in a poolside apartment - they are very roomy with great amenities!! We were surprised with how good it was. View was lovely and everything very clean! A few minutes out of town was perfect for us as it was quiet - IGA next door. The only thing I could suggest for improvement was the couches slightly dated and also our shower screen was missing the handle and we noticed someone had come into our apartment without permission while we weren't there and fitted one on the second day. However, will defiantly stay here again and can highly recommend! - if you want to pay more then stay up the hill with a view over airlie beach, however this was just fine for us - great balcony to relax on also.

    « Great Value »

Mango House is a great place to stay, Peter and his crew are just wonderful. The apartments are bit with everything in them, that you need for your break in Airlie Beach. It is close to town, had a supermarket and eatery across the Road, plus a pub within throwing range....Highly recommend this place.

« Economical, Spacious and comfortable »

We had never been to Airlie Beach before and booked this for our anniversary. We were looking for a self contained unit and were quite impressed with what we found. It was only rated as four star but definitely ticked all our boxes. It is well located just out of town and has a supermarket and coffee shop next door. The Pub over the road had great meals at reasonable prices. The grounds were quite presentable and even though the weather was poor we enjoyed the pool every day. We booked another room for our Daughter who came up from Mackay with her kids over the weekend and she was also impressed. If you are a party animal stay in town, this was a great place to relax.

Pete and pam are excellent hosts. So helpful, so friendly! Unit spotless with more than adequate facilities available. Supermarket across the road! Will definitely return and stay at mango house ?? easy accessible to all entertainment. Peter and pam turn themselves inside out to ensure all guests enjoy their Whitsundays experience!

    « Mango House - poolside apartment »

Nice property, lush gardens, large pool (bit cold at this time of year though- August). Well equipped, second story, one bedroom apartment facing the pool - kitchenette, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Decor is dated but comfortable. Could do with a birthday. Shower was lovely and hot!!! Free WIFI. Great location - Fair walk into Airlie but has public transport access nearby. Quick drive into Airlie and Canonvale. IGA right across the road and new cafe 'Uneek', serving a lovely breakfast 2 minutes away. Also has a pub nearby (which we did not go to). Very relaxed management = very relaxing break.

    « Comfortable. »

We spent two nights at this motel with my family and a group of friends. Our room was a treetops room which could have done with a good scrubbing and some fresh paint but it was OK. A little bit of a spruce up with the furniture in the room would be good as well. More shelf space in the good size bathroom would also be handy. The shower was good as well. A dish drainer and a wooden board in the kitchenette would be useful. The room also had a top loader washing machine and dryer for longer stays. We enjoyed our weekend break and will be back again but in a poolside room I think.

« Wonderful pace to stay »

Very relaxing, tropical environment. We had a one bedroom apartment upstairs facing the pool. Verandah very private with hidden place to sit and shared stairs going down to pool. Room s very clean. Kitchenette well stocked. Bed comfortable and loved the plantation windows. Loved that this place is right on the bus route which makes it so easy to get around so there is no need for a car if you dont want to travel further afield. The motel is in close proximity to a supermarket and tavern where you can get a decent meal if not wanting to cook. Management cheery and helpful. Got a lot more than I expected for budget price. We stayed there in May and weather was beautiful.

« Lovely Room, Wonderful Manager »

We booked into the Hotel at short notice and would not be arriving until close to midnight. Peter, the manager was very accommodating and helpful and organised for a key to be available to us. We were delighted when we arrived to find that we had been upgraded to a pool side room! The accommodation was delightful with louvered windows in the bedroom, a balcony overlooking the pool and step directly to the pool area. Bed was comfy, kitchen was adequate, lounge area very nice. We would definitely stay here again!

« Pleasant stay, comfortable room »

Rooms simple, clean and tastefully decorated. Plenty of well-lit off-street parking. The location is quiet and out of the hussle of Airlie Beach main street. Close to supermarket. Good value for money. I would stay there again.

« Great place to stay in Airley beach »

Our tour operator had booked a studio but we got upgraded to a suite, from the friendly welcome in reception to the great room, pool and nearby shops you couldn't ask for more plus free wifi which is a wonderful bonus after staying in more expensive accommodation during our trip where you only got 30 mins! So if you are looking for a lovely place to stay book best western mango house ??

    « A disappointing resort »

We stayed for 2 nights in a room facing a concrete drive and the neighbour's washing line. We felt the room was furnished in a very cheap manner. Unfortunately, the wifi, which was important to us, and including the office wifi didn't extend to our room and only appeared to work when stood directly outside the reception office. This is what I was obliged to do in order to work. The pool was pleasant but we didn't find that the only pub/restaurant in walking distance offered any food that we wished to eat. Altogether not a resort that I would recommend.

    5
    « Fantastic and friendly »

Great place to stay, reasonably priced. There is an IGA and tavern over the road. Nice swimming pool, beautiful airy bright rooms. The manager was very friendly and welcoming. Short drive to the Cruise Whitsundays Marina. We will definitely return to the Mango House Resort

    « Beautiful motel »

I stayed here with my family for three nights in March. We booked a one room apartment and got upgraded to an interconnecting two bedroom apartment which was fantastic! The views from the poolside rooms are beautiful, with friendly sulfur crested cockatoos visiting the balcony. Beds are very comfortable, the pillows were a little soft but manageable. The rooms facing the main road can be a bit noisy at night, but it isn't bad.

« on the quiet side of town »

Our family of four grownups stayed here recently. The 2 bedroom unit was clean and tidy, Everything was very easy to access, with a great view down to the pool area from the first floor. A small supermarket was just over the road A pub 100 meters walk away. and five minute walk to the ferries for Hamilton island. etc. All in all a pleasant stay.

« Away From the Hustle and Bustle »

The Resort is a little out of town, but if you don't have a car the bus stop is only metres away. We booked a Studio but were upgraded to a Poolside room, which was great. The room was clean and tidy and had all the facilities including a kitchen, washing machine and dryer and a private balcony. The Jubilee Tavern is just up the road and they provide a good range of meals. The Resort grounds are well kept and the pool and surrounds provide a relaxing tropical atmosphere. Free undercover off street parking was also appreciated. No cockroaches or pests sighted - but it is Queensland in summer. All in all, very comfortable, quiet, well equipped and close enough to town.

    « Disappointing Best Western »

Stayed for only one night and then moved to another accommodation for another 3 nights in Airlie Beach. Kitchenette and lounge were poorly appointed... handyman-style. Cockroaches in outer entranceway to unit. Access to pool was inconvenient. Poor value for cost.

    4
« Nice quiet suite outside the bustling town »

We always want a quite room and on the Great Barrier Reef A1 trip we stopped at the lovely Airlie Beach. The Best Weston's are reliable and reasonable with nice spacious, clean rooms, well appointed and with very comfortable beds. This is no exception and did not disappoint. Great place to stay.

    3
« Adequate for an overnighter »

Booked in for one night for work. Place was a pretty modest "motor inn" style place. Two stories (ground & level 1) - I was level one. Room consisted of a small kitchen, a living and bed, plus a bathroom. The room itself was clean and roomy. Outside wasn't particularly well maintained but not bad. Biggest gripe was that the air conditioner really struggled to service the size of the area. The hotel is also a little out of the main town area ... not a problem if you have a car but maybe an issue if you want to walk. Good news is that there is a pub directly across the road :) Worked fine for me as a one night overnight stay for work.

« Excellent Value for Money »

If you are looking for a 5 Star International resort in the heart of Airlie then Mango House is not for you. If you are looking for excellent value at the budget end of the scale then certainly consider Mango House. We did not have a single complaint. Accommodation is as described, so you shouldn't be surprised by standard, location, or amenities provided. Our apartment was clean and comfortable and everything worked as it should. I wouldn't look anywhere else when next I visit Airlie Beach.

« Mango House Was a Home Away from Home »

This was a nice, comfortable hotel. We rented a two bedroom suite which ended up being two self contained apartments with a hall separating them and a common entry door to the hall. It was perfect because we had two babies and four adults, so the babies could sleep separately in one unit. Both units had fully equipped kitchenettes AND a washer and dryer! One unit looked out over a beautiful, lush courtyard with pool, which we could access from our balcony. There is also a BBQ discreetly placed at one end of the courtyard. The Mango House was situated next to a plaza with grocery store and was a very short drive or a good walk from the centre of Airlie Beach. The Jubilee Tavern was just across the road - GREAT pizza!! There was also a Bottle-O right there, so basically everything you could need was within very easy reach! I would definitely recommend the Mango House!

    « Holiday to remember! »

My girlfriend and I stayed at Mango House and had a holiday to remember! We are both wheelchair users and while the accommodation is not specifically wheelchair accessible, we managed very easily. The owners did everything they could to accommodate us, including changing the shower head to a hand-held shower. Rooms were clean and tidy and have air conditioning for those hot nights! The room also has a useful small kitchen and a washer and dryer if needed. Our first day was spent swimming in the pool and laying around on the sun lounges provided. Every other day we had an activity planned and in the end it would have been nice to spend another day by the pool! There is a small supermarket nearby as well as a pub with fantastic food. I recommend the seafood basket; for $50 we struggled to finish it! But with the supermarket across the road and the unit equipped with a small kitchen, we chose to eat in most nights. The harbour is about a 10-minute walk or a couple minutes by car. From there you have access to all the beautiful islands and the Great Barrier Reef. Within walking distance is the main street of Airlie Beach where you can do a bit of shopping or grab a bite to eat. Everywhere we went the people were really helpful. Our first day trip was to Daydream Island. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and provided a drink of our choice. We were also enjoyed a rare treat ? feeding the stingrays, various tropical fish and various sharks. My girlfriend is English and had her heart set on holding a Koala and, although it's illegal in Victoria (where I live) we found a place in the Whitsundays where she could do this. Bredl's Wild Farm was a hugely eye-opening afternoon with both hands-on animal encounters and guided tours of crocodile pens, the inhabitants of which were raised from eggs by the Barefoot Bushman himself. We were also lucky enough to travel out to the Reef itself and indulge in some snorkeling. With snorkeling and scuba diving offered at every level of ability, the trip really does cater for everyone ? even if you can't swim! The staff and dive guides are fantastically helpful and willing to help everyone catch a glimpse of that beautiful Australian natural wonder. Our stay at Mango House was a perfect holiday in a beautiful tropical getaway. The owners are clearly passionate about their business, from the exotic flowers that surround the pool, to the inspiring itinerary and constant well-being of their guests. Take me back, already!

    « Nice "resort" »

Very nice resort/hotel. It is not in the center of airlie beach, so you dont have any trouble with noice and music of the busy center. Great pool area and a spa bath. Kitchen has everything you need to cook your own dinner.

    « Excellent value!! »

Great few days spent in and around Airlie Beach, staying at the Mango House Resort. Location is nice and quiet, a little out of the main town of Airlie. Don't be put off by location as it's a nice walk into town or only $10 taxi ride. Also frequent buses costing $2.80 into town. Apartments were nice with all the amenities we required. We stayed in a nice poolside room. Swimming pool was lovely. Nice shade cover over the pool so you can enjoy a swim without the sun beating down on you all day long. All in all a very pleasant experience. Highly recommend. Would definitely stay here again.

« great hotel for families »

this property is great for families. it has a nice pool area and restaurant. The rooms are decent and clean. It's great value for a family. it is only a short drive to the town centre where there is an awesome man made beach lagoon

« Not what it looks like in the pictures. »

This place could best be described as a motel. The rooms are very basic but clean. Treetops rooms = car park or supermarket view. Pool view rooms looked nicer. Pool is ok. Aircon bearly worked and reception showed no interest. We arrived late afternoon and no one told us that you had to order breakfast the afternoon before for delivery in the morning - you store it yourself until the morning - An interesting concept! It is quite a way out of the town only a pub across the road to eat at (a sports bar). All in all a very disappointing experience. Luckily we found an alternative and left. Not recommended.

« Lovely accomidation with even lovelier owners! »

We recently had a lovely stay at mango house during our honeymoon. When we arrived we was apprehensive about the distance to town but actually is a pretty flat 20 minute walk (at the most) however if you don't fancy that the bus stop is just outside!! There is a supermarket is directly opposite, and the apartment is well equipped with everything that is needed for a short stay. The owners (particularly pam) were attentive to all of our needs and she even came and gave us fresh mango whist we were chilling by the pool one day!! Great value for the price! Thanks for having us!!

« Our favourite hotel of the trip! »

When we were coming down the hill driving to Airlie Beach, we were awestruck and were so excited at the views and very much looking forward to our 2 days here. We were a little disappointed to then find we were actually a couple of km out of town and nowhere near the sea and we probably did not get off to the best of starts with the owner. We even wanted to move! Thankfully, we got over ourselves and deciding to stay was the best decision as this was by far our favourite place out of all the ones we stayed in on our trip. The Mango House is a couple of km outside town in a quiet area but has a supermarket and a pub nearby. Check in was easy and straight forward and Pete had given us a poolside room rather than a tree tops room. Access to the room was up some stairs but once inside, the room was spacious, well equipped, spotlessly clean and had a lovely balcony and steps down to the pool. Pete and Pam, the owners were lovely and Pete has a very dry sense of humour that probably some people from certain European nations would not get but we thought it was great and all added to the charm of the place. There were kitchen facilities in our apartment and also a washing machine/dryer in the bathroom. The pick up for our pre arranged trip to the Whitsundays was right outside the hotel entrance and there is also a regular (ish) bus service into town. You definitely would not want to walk! The pool was lovely, the surrounding area was clean and there were plenty of loungers available. We were also entertained by the wild cockatoo's that came visiting and were friendly enough to come and perch on you. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. We had all our hotels on the trip from Brisbane to Cairns booked for us and had no clue what we were getting and this by far was the best. We felt so relaxed and comfortable there and definitely did not want to leave. We would rate this 5* and would recommend to anyone.

« Oasis in the Whitsundays »

This is a lovely property, a little further out of town but offers lovely rooms in a beautiful quiet setting. The self contained units allow you to eat in (there is an IGA supermarket across the road) or walk or drive to Airlie for a hugh selection of restaurants. The rooms and the facilities are beatifully maintained and clean. I will return.

« Easy walk or bus to town, fantastic value, fully equipped! We loved it! »

This resort complex has well-equipped apartments - we had a one bedroom with queen bed, it also had a fully equipped kitchen, lounge-diner and balcony. there was free wifi and TV. Plus the bathroom had laundry facilities - sooo convenient when you need to dry beach towels in a hurry. We loved it. Realistically it is a 20 - 25 min walk into town - which we didn't mind, but it is also on a bus stop which is 5 mins to town. It also offers parking. It is on a main road, but we were aware of that when we booked, and that didn't bother us - in fact, it wasn't like a city main rd in terms of noise or traffic - we are from Sydney. The pool was great to look at and to swim in - with shade cloth over part of it and the complex is built around the pool so lots of rooms look out onto it. We would stay here again and definitely recommend it to anyone going to Airlie. Pete was a character who always had a great yarn, or amusing outlook on a predicament, and made us feel really welcome.

« The place to stay in Airlie Beach (when mobile with car!) !! »

We looked for a hotel in Airlie Beach to stay for a week, with a sailing break in the middle (so 2 bookings). As we had a car, we did not need a central one, rather focussed on price and it being a bit outside a real good place for a nice price. Long story short: This place is fantastic!!! (You need to have a car though, otherwise it is tough to get anywhere easily.) We expected a hotel ,it was more like an apartment. To rooms, balcony for e. g. breakfast, own kitchen, own laundry - a full service apartment. That said, the price was rather low, an excellent catch. Pool was unfortunately under maintenance during our stay (end of September), but this should be fine now. Kind staff. Supermarket and gym right over the street, Airlie Beach centre is a 5mins drive, but okay with that little traffic. Still impressed by it! WiFi was free and good as well. We would ALWAYS book that place again, so fresh and spacy and well equipped! (Make sure your room(s) are on upper level and ideally facing the pool/inner-yard. Not a must as all are good, but if you can pick ...)

« Our 3rd Stay at Mango House Resort »

My wife and I enjoyed yet another stay at Mango House Resort staying for 2 weeks from 7th October to the 27th October 2015. Pam and Pete do their absolute best to ensure that the accomodation meets a very high standard and also the outside areas, including pool are attractive and kept clean. Sometimes, factors outside their control can affect the outside areas, such as stormy weather which can result in debris in the pool, but this is dealt with as soon as the weather calms. We find that the facilities in the rooms - fridge/freezer, hot plate, a wide array of kitchen gadgets, washer and tumble dryer are excellent, as is the airconditioner, but this year we found that we didn't need it as the conditions were changeable. Contrary to comments from some other guests, we (being from the UK) quite enjoyed the rooms not having glazing, just the insect mesh and window slots, as we enjoyed being able to sleep in 'fresh air' without camping. We have always stayed in September/October and never found any issues with flies/creatures. If you want flies go to Uluru! We found Mango House Resort to be (for us) ideally situated and didn't mind being away from the Airlie Centre - it can get quite noisy there at night. The walk to Airlie is quite acceptable 10 - 15 minutes, and if this is too daunting, there is a 2 dollar bus stop outside. We hired a car but didn't mind the walk if we wanted to have a drink and not drive. An IGA supermarket is just across the road from Mango House Resort, and has a wide range of fresh and frozen food etc - the steak is ideal for the Mango House BBQ, which is Pam's pride and joy - just make sure you don't abuse it. Go in and say Hi to Shane the IGA Manager. Also across the main road is the Jubilee Tavern who do good meals and also offer gaming machines and Keeno. A Bottle-O is attached to the Jubilee Tavern and Bruce keeps a well stocked shop. We travel a long way from the UK to stay in Airlie Beach as we enjoy the weather and surroundings and activities that are available - the Airlie Lagoon is free and is quite beautiful. We also enjoyed Ocean Rafting and Air Whitsundays seaplane to the Barrier Reef I will get around to doing reviews of these later. We hope to see Pete and Pam next year - thanks for making our stays so special.

    « Decent place, 5 mins drive »

We stayed for two nights at this hotel on our last visit to Airlie beach. Spacious rooms, comfortable stay but not very clean. The pool was closed for the two days we stayed but didn't bother us too much. It's a 5 min drive from the airlie beach, so not the best place for people without a car.

« Decent walk to town »

Stayed here for a couple of nights for a wedding . Nice place . The pool area is very enjoyable. We didn't have a car , so it's a decent walk in to town , especially when it's hot. The poolside rooms are the best ones . Even though the road out front doesn't go anywhere , it can be noisy . The rooms are quite sizeable but probably need a bit of maintenance done to some of the fittings . In future I would look for somewhere a little closer to town

« Expensive for what it is »

The rooms are spacious but not necessarily very modern or clean. There are no real windows but just mosquito nets and blinds which make sure you hear every car that passes the fairly busy road. But if that wasn't noisy enough then the room will take care of you having a sleepless night as the toilet, fridge and air condition seem to have a competition on which one makes the loudest and most annoying noises. Plus the Internet wasn't working for the whole stay on neither iPhone, iPad or android. Come on! It's 2015...

« Fabulous hotel with superb views and amenities »

I picked this hotel out at random, for a three day stay at the Whitsundays, and it was the best of my trip. The rooms were spacious and clean, ours including a full kitchen, while the real plus point was the view from our balcony (make sure ask for a poolside room), which consisted of huge mango trees, a swimming pool and dozens of wild birds. These included yellow headed cockatoos who visited every evening to be fed on the balcony - this was a great experience but do ensure you shut your doors and windows before you go out or you may have a messy visitor when you return! The hotel is about a mile from Airlie Beach and is opposite an eatery and supermarket, if you dining out or eating in. The owners were not very talkative but overall a tremendous place.

The rate & quality were very good. Didn't spend a lot of time in rooms, but they were nice & spacious. Had a lot of amenities. Manager was helpful -- lending us beach towels to use for the day. Nice place to come back to after a day out at sea.

Situated about one kilometre from down town Airlie Beach the Best Western Mango was a haven away from the noise and bustle. The unit had a full kitchen, and clothes washing and drying facilities. There are really no negatives.
