"Nice hotel"

stevec437, Newport, United Kingdom 06/12/2019

Nice hotel on the main road with parking. 10 min walk into old town all along the main road. Nice room with all you need and very clean. Breakfast was nice but could do with some pastries and some veggie options, there were real sausages and bacon etc. Staff were very nice.

"Very comfortable room and good location."

Sue W, Brisbane, Australia 25/08/2019

Although not terribly central, this hotel is within easy walking distance to the centre of Aachen and all the attractions. Our room was very comfortable with a lovely courtyard outside. Breakfasts were great.

".. worn out hotel .."

JensZilina, Zilina Region, Slovakia 11/07/2019

The staff on the hotel is very nice and polite. Rooms are old and worn out. Pillows did not fulfill the expectations. They was either small and hard or too big. Noise for the elevator at the room. Smell for cooking breakfast from 6.00 in the morning.

"Minimum requirements"

Cris1900, Turin, Italy 14/06/2019

Very small single room. Breakfast in add, and parking in add on standard price Cleanliness ok. Not too far from centrum and in well position for Congress Park. I'm not shure to select it again in the future.

"Fantastic service"

Popotnika, Dubai, United Arab Emirates 24/04/2019

Although there were some errors here and there, but the reaction of the staff was professional and acceptable. The room is spacious and perfect for families. The breakfast and overall service were very good. The location is good, not too far from city centre. Everything was accessible within walking distance.

"Location great, great rooms but very noisy "

263andif, Aylesford, United Kingdom 01/12/2018

The location is fantastic for visiting Aachen centre, we chose this hotel for the xmas market. First of all Kim the receptionist was brilliant, really helpful, excellent sense of humour and gowguss. The rooms are a good size, comfy bed and a great bathroom. My only moan was the hotel is situated in a very noisy area of the town. The room was very hot if the windows where shut (winter) We opened the windows and the noise from the junction/road was very bad 24hrs a day. That said we liked Aachen and the xmas market, didn't get much sleep though.

"Could be better"

H6608NRdavet, Waterloo, Belgium 29/11/2018

Got stuck in the elevator twice today; it's been making noise all week, so hard to believe the staff doesn't know. Unfortunately me and a very large man both had rooms on the top floor. Since the Best Western lacks a gym or sauna, five floors is ok; however the overweight man was not enjoying it. The breakfast is comparable to most German locations and the staff do a good job taking care of the breakfast buffet. The location is convenient to everything in the downtown area with a 5-10 minute walk. The hotel does not have a bar, offer beer or a place to socialize.

"Recommend this hotel"

User 12/08/2018

We stayed here a week while we attended the European Equestrian games. The best thing for us was the hotel was located just 100 metres from the bus interchange so we could just jump on the bus every morning and head off to the games. The hotel is walking distance from the old part of town (9 minutes) with the cathedral square with its cafes, bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were really nice and made us welcome from the moment we arrived. Also the breakfast was fantastic with cereals, sausages, eggs, etc etc in a huge German buffet. Also the bar was fun with reasonably priced and generously sized glasses of wine and beer.

"Good hotel, terrific receptionist"

User 07/08/2018

The hotel is fine. Our room was large and comfortable. But Sabira, one of the receptionist, was the best of all. She gave us a exceptional welcome and showed us some recommendations in order to experience Aachen and it's monuments. Needless to say if I came back to Aachen, I would stay at the same place because of her.

"Small, but smart accommodation at reasonable price"

Aglika G, Sofia, Bulgaria 24/07/2018

Very good location - the old town is 10 minutes by feet. Cozy small rooms with smart organization of all accessories, needed for comfortable living. Very responsive staff and good quality breakfast. The parking is approximately nearby, not the best solution, but not too far and difficult to get with the luggage.

"Reasonable hotel when passing through"

MauriceVE, Gouda, The Netherlands 19/03/2018

When you're looking for a reasonable hotel near the city center of Aachen when you're passing through this hotel should fit the bill. The layout is a bit awkward and the rooms aren't as roomy as you'd think but it's easy to find, there's a parking lot and it's close to the city center. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean (but as I mentioned small) and breakfast is adequate.

"Causy nice and central location"

Vandenbrouckeb, Kortrijk, Belgium 30/01/2018

On walking distance from the centre, with a good parking lot and easy access. What more could you ask for? Ok, clean room, good breakfast and friendly staff. There you go! all the boxes ticked. But I was a bit surprised. Room 601, strange configuration. I couldn't get rid of the impression that this was not supposed to be a room originally. But ok, I slept quite well, the occasional noise of the bathroom fan next doors was just a minor disturbance.

"A brilliant Hotel"

gabriele522, Carterton 18/10/2017

We spent 2 nights at this hotel and wish that we had stayed for more. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpfull. We booked a Business Double and it exceeded our expectations. The hotel is central so not too far to walk for the main attractions of Aachen. The carpark is next to the hotel, so could not have been more convenient. The breakfast was excellent and we will definitely return.

"Central Hotel"

Ovvin, Droxford, United Kingdom 01/09/2017

The main advantages of this hotel are (1) that it has a carpark for guests on an adjoining lot, although the lot is not secure and there is a charge and (2) it is only a 10 minute walk from the cathedral and its environs. It is situated on a busy road and we were lucky to be given one of their modern rooms in a courtyard at the back of the hotel. The room was clean and quiet. The communal areas are not much to write home about, but most guests are probably out sightseeing during the day.The staff were all very helpful and the breakfast was good.

"Ticks all the boxes "

josephx528, Island of Gozo, Malta 14/07/2017

If you're looking for a spacious clean comfortable room in town with the friendliest staff and an excellent breakfast, look no further. On- site parking is a bonus. We will definitely be recommending it to our friends

"Next time here again!"

Johan K, Glabbeek, Belgium 03/06/2017

This hotel is not located in the actual old town centre but very close by. And easy short walk of 200m brings you at the start of a nice area (Adalbertstrasse) with the Aquis Plaza Shopping centre and form there you can have a nice walk through the shopping streets direction of the old centre. The staff at the reception are very friendly and helping. We parked our car on the hotel parking, very easy and worth the money. The room was very cosy, quiet and clean and very nice bathroom!! It is located on the ground floor in a little patio. (room 601) That we would be happy about this stay was not a surprise because the previous stays at a Best Western Hotel has always been excellent. Good job!!!

"Good staff."

tony s, Shrewsbury, United Kingdom 24/05/2017

This hotels location is not great, but is within walking distance to town. It is on a very busy crossroads and the area isn't exactly upamrket. The gentleman on reception was very helpful and friendly, and works very hard. Rooms were a little small and maybe a bit ready for a refurb. Breakfast was pretty good. Not sure open car park is very secure.

"Clean and central"

Michael G, Thatcham, United Kingdom 15/05/2017

Its clean and comfortable, the room's are a bit dated and the single was small, but ok for an overnight stop. And being by a busy road is a bit noisy The hotel is nice and clean, the staff are very good, and the breakfast was excellent. Its also very expensive for what it is and the parking is also expensive.

"Good hotel"

User 08/04/2017

It was my first time trip to Aachen. I think this hotel was very good enough for business trip. Nice atmosphere, well decoration. Excellent breakfast. Very polite staffs. When ever I came back to the Aachen, this hotel is my first choice.

"Hotel for busines in Aachen"

Tadeusz G, Gliwice, Poland 13/09/2016

Relatively small hotel, very near to the old city market. Small but functional room with electric kettle set, wifi, clean bathroom. Ideal for short business trip. Breakfast - basic, but fresh and tasty.

"Average hotel"

User 15/05/2016

Inexpensive laminate flooring, very small bathroom, sofa with stains on it. Breakfast was great but not included in the price of the room. Location was on the corner of a busy street but surprisingly we didn't have any trouble with noise at night. Easy to find and get to when arriving in the city by car. Next to a large, well populated city park and a five minute walk to Carolus Thermen spa.

"Gourmet Break"

FionaKingMclaren, Hove, United Kingdom 27/03/2016

We booked a meal inclusive break at a seductive price. Our rooms were good, and had the welcome extra of an electric radiator to supplement the central heating. Our three course dinner was comprehensively excellent and presented by cheerful friendly and professional staff. Breakfast was also surprisingly good - even the eggs were perfectly cooked. The four of us will happily return next year. It is worth noting that blue badge parking is free, otherwise £2. The swimming pool is best when children are at school.

"Good for the Christmas Markets."

adobeKent, kent 15/12/2015

Friendly hotel, good shower, beds a bit hard. Clean and quiet. We were on the 5th floor but there is a lift. Good breakfast (buffet style). About half a mile from the centre. Parking available next door (charges).

"One nighter in Aachen"

UNGGRABB, Juba 22/11/2015

Convenient location when you get off the freeway for an overnight stop. Bar serving snacks and excellent beer. Some vending machines offering nick nacks and some sandwhiches also. Large carpark. Good room with that "German clean and sparkle". Price ok also. Oh, almost forgot, the breakfast was good.

"Nice hotel and good location"

Soccerwatcher, Aarhus, Denmark 11/10/2015

Warm welcome, smoth check inn with all what's needed. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Room ok, a bit small and has not the value of the price of 128,00 Euro with out breakfast for annother 15,50 Euro. Rooms and bath room are very clean. Room interrior is a bit old fashioned. The aircondition is central, that means you can not control it from the room, it was a way to hot in the room and could not be changed. The rooms to the street are a bit noisy because of the much trafic on the mainrood. Location is near city center, 300 meter, very good for excurtions.

"A little far from the station but good"

Manosij2014, Leuven, Belgium 30/07/2015

A good hotel, nice room, clean linen, very comfortable beds.... just a little outside the city center but still great.... Staff helpful, not too much noise..... and a great value for what you pay.... overall a very good experience.....

"Good location just outside city centre"

KJLRSA, Johannesburg, South Africa 14/05/2015

This hotel was very good as a business hotel. It is just outside the main city centre with majority of AACHEN attractions within walking distance. The hotel is pretty cramped but the room was large enough for a single person. it was very clean and the staff were all very helpful. No restaurant in the hotel but plenty within walking distance. Breakfast was very good.

"Useful location for Spa"

poryadynska, Kiev 23/03/2015

We had a good stay, room spotless with comfortable beds and a small but adequate bathroom, location very good. The reception staff were helpful. We walked every where from the Carolus Thermen Bad to Aachener Dom and all over the city.

"Good location for Christmas market"

Roy W, Horsham, United Kingdom 07/01/2015

Great for the price, the room we were given was a decent size and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was a little disappointing with only a small amount of choice of foods however, the dining room and kitchen are only small so it is to be expected. The staff are very friendly and welcoming & speak many languages. there is an open area for parking next to the hotel and the car was very safe. All in all this hotel is worth a visit, especially at 100 Euro per night

"Cramped but useful location"

User 21/12/2014

This small hotel is located on the corner of Jülicher Straße and Monheimsalle, part of the main ring road around Central Aachen to the North-West. It has its own private car park to the rear: if coming by car it is best approached along Jülicher Straße towards the city centre. The hotel is on a cramped site, but is well furnished and well maintained inside. Rooms at the front overlooking the busy Monheimsalle are quite noisy. Free WiFi is available. There is a breakfast room, but no dining room. This is not a problem as the start of the City Centre is just a cross the street, so there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff are helpful and friendly.
