Fair pricing and convenient. Breakfasts are better than you might expect: decent. The rooms are are not small, and the mini-frig and microwave are nice touches. Sometime the ice maker is out. Worth your time and money.

"Staff great room product needs help"

People who work here are most helpful and that is the only thing making it tolerable to stay. Room product is so old and needs help. Don't get in the elevator! It is a joke for any hotel to have this system with a bi-fold door that people get stuck in. Shame on you.

If your looking for a quiet, cigarette smoke free hotel on the first floor. Keep searching for another establishment. The grounds and lobby were extremely clean and maintained. If your a diamond card holder and expect you will be able to be upgraded, not here despite the limited amount of vehicles in the lot after 10 pm.

I booked this hotel online. The hotel was fairly easy to find, appeared to be very clean, staff very helpful. Didn't have time for breakfast. BUT the biggest drawback was that does NOT have an elevator to get to the 2nd floor! Had to carry bags up the stairs to reach my room. A very big problem for seniors and mostly women.

Hotel was nicely appointed and near the route we were traveling on, accessible to restaurants. Room was comfortable and clean. Hotel was nicely decorated. We would stay here again. We enjoy staying at best western hotels and try to use them when we are traveling.

I was there for my nieces wedding and This was the most smelly hotel I've ever stayed at. Bed was uncomfortable. I couldn't sleep due to smell and bed I cancelled the 2nd night they did reimburse us for the night we cancelled

Rooms were not ready NOR available. Staff was stressed out and freaking out. I WAS SENT TO A ROOM WHERE A MAN WAS ALREADY CHECKED INTO - PURE HUMILIATION ON BOTH PARTIES. My small child witnessed this chaos which was also an issue.

Everything about this hotel was/is great!!! Lobby is spacious, and the rooms clean and bright, cheery, and lovely. The staff from the Manager to Front Desk to Maids to Restaurant were/are VERY nice and accommodating to me, as a person with a disability and rolling walker. For a moderate-priced hotel, it looks FIRST-CLASS with all the inlaid marble and glass tile designs of Lobby and Halls.Just wish it was larger as it is hard to get weekend reservations... it's very popular with tour groups, wedding guests, and local class reunions.

I stay at this property often when I'm working in the area. This is my favorite hotel. People are great, rooms are always clean and in working order, internet is good and beds are comfortable. I know they have a banquet area. I have not been to that area. Lounge is great and always a good breakfast.

Stayed here during a family visit. Very nice Hotel very friendly staff. Room was very well appointed. Overall great place. Also reasonably priced especially for being in NJ. Would go back again if we're back in the area.

"An enjoyable stay"

My husband and I stayed here for three nights. The staff was very gracious and capable. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The first night we realized that the air conditioner was leaking on the carpet. We reported it the next morning and were very pleased that this was completely repaired, including drying the carpet, by the time we got back for the second night. The food (breakfast and a dinner) was very good, We would definitely consider staying here again

I don't like giving poor reviews to any establishment. I almost always check out the reviews prior to reserving a room. Unfortunately, this Best Western did not meet my standard of excellence I normally find. The a/c was very noisy. I waited for a while thinking it might clear, but it did not. I had to go back to the lobby and request a change in room. This was handled very well by the staff at the front desk. I wanted to get ice for the water I was given, but the ice machine was not working properly. The internet speed was very slow. I managed to get done what I needed to do, but I thought it was unusual. It was the first time I stayed at this particular BW. Not sure I'd go back.

I stay at this hotel periodically and have always been pleased with it. I get a great nightly rate, they have a great full hot breakfast complimentary, and their Front desk personnel is especially friendly and helpful, always making me feel welcomed. The lounge and the restaurant are also nice additions.

I booked over 15 rooms from this hotel at a last minute and the staff was amazing, They tried their best to accommodate my employees, they handle the billing for the rooms and food/beverage without any mistakes. I would definite would use them in the future. They have a really nice small restaurant and bar, they will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable

Since it was for our 14 year wedding anniversary, I called BW to reserve a stay at one of their honeymoon suites... not only was Jackie helpful from the 1st phone call made considering the reservation, she was on top of it to make sure that we got the room we wanted and she made sure we had no issues checking in, checking out, the room preparation. I have stayed at many many many hotels, high end hotels, and this one was spotless, hygienic, comfortable, and for the suite, very accomodating to all the things we were looking for. If I had anyone to recommend for promoting how to deal with exceptional phenomenal customer service of the year, it definelty Jackie at the Best Western Regency in Pompton Plains, NJ.

"Oh no...snow days"

There is no question that being in the north east you get weather issues that are tough to predict and or deal with. I visited right after a major storm and was greeted by someone who said...we have no phone, internet or tv...in case u want to go some where else. There is 3 feet of snow outside and I just flew across country. I just wanted a bed. Night two...they did not keep there kitchen open a little longer being that still three feet of snow on the ground. They did suggest places to go to...but I don't have a car. Upon checking out...one would assume that discounts would have been given for my AAA membership (which is plastered every where) or for lack of accommodations they advertised providing (though a product of bad weather). Nope nothing. Besides a thank you and goodbye. Let's not talk about the smoke filled hallways in a none smoking hotel. Or the over use of Lysol to combat the smoke smell.

We stay at this hotel at least 1 time a year. I love this hotel. The staff is great, the rooms are extra clean and they really care if you are comfortable or not. We wouldnt stay anywhere else when we travel to NJ.

"Basic & inexpensive, good value, but..."

Although the hotel needs some refurbishing (e.g. the front entrance hotel sign is missing) this is a decent, basic place that offers very good rates. One glitch during our last stay: it was a cold night and we asked for 3 blankets for the 3 of us. The hotel brought 2 and told us they had no more. Seriously? The hotel ran out of blankets? Up your game, guys!

"Great stay with one exception"

Our stay wasa great, breakfast served every day was also great but no wifi at all in our room which was the last room on first floor farthest from the lobby. The hotel needs to get on this and fix the problem as business clients will not be happy with no wifi in their room.

They went out of their way to take care of my elderly mother while my father was in the hospital for several weeks. She said they were like family, always making sure she had what she needed and going out of their way to provide for her. She has stayed there ever since. Jackie takes care of her whenever she is in town.

We stayed overnight for a wedding. We were able to check in before the time we were told. The Service was great. Our heat didn't work and they immediately came to fix it. The pillows weren't that great though. Overall we had a great experience. I would stay again.

"Bad Hotel - No heat in many rooms and bed bugs"

I had to switch rooms 4 times. The first room had no heat. The 2nd I didn't like because of the sleazy jacuzi with mirrored ceiling. The 3rd was noisy. The 4th was ok. But who wants to go through that? Plus my relatives experienced bed bugs in their room and now have a huge problem to deal with. My cousin also had no heat in her first room and a beeping smoke alarm that the attendant couldn't fix right away (she had no ladder). I will say that the people I encountered who worked there were excellent, but that the hotel itself is terrible. It's not their fault that they hotel is bad.

As usual, the Regency House lived up to my expectations. The staff, as usual, was very compitent, friendly, and welcoming. The room, as usual was clean, and comfortable. I would have like a chair in the room, as that makes putting my shoes on a little more easy. But again, as usual . . . No bad surprises here. This has become my “GoTo” place in that area. And the Bagel shop across the street is fantastic.

We arrived at this hotel very late in the evening after a holiday spent with relatives. The hotel is a little dingy looking, with dated decor and dark color palettes. Our guest rooms and bath room were not sparkling clean but the beds were comfortable and the staff was welcoming. This property offered complimentary breakfast as well as a cheaper rate than a neighboring property.

This hotel is in need of a serious overhaul. Our room had a 2x4 holding up the granite countertop in the bathroom, a ripped shower curtain, the air didn't work the bedspread was crunchy and foam like.

As we do not use bedspreads, only blankets and they are enfolded with sheets, I cannot identify foam like feel. Again my apologies for your uncomfortable stay with us.

I was very happy with every employee I came in contact with, the professionalism was great. The hotel was nice and clean. My room had only 2 drawbacks, The TV is flat mounted to the wall and hard to see from the desk/sitting area and they do not provide soap or shampoo in containers. I prefer a bar of soap over dribbles of shower gel.

"noise factor"

I was placed in a charming business suite that was nicely appointed. The jetted tub did not work for several days, however, after many inquiries at the front desk, the jets were repaired. The housekeeping staff did NOT always thoroughly clean the bathroom sink, mirror and tub. Neither did they always supply drinking glasses and soap. The front desk staff were always extremely helpful and welcoming. On Friday and Saturday, the hotel was invaded by a large group of touring students. The lounged and talked in the halls, their noise echoing within the private rooms. This was distracting. For breakfast on Saturday, the restaurant was NOT prepared for such a group. The wait for breakfast was 1/2 hour or more and the restaurant ran out of spoons, forks, and knives, not to mention bacon, eggs, and drinks. The organization of the breakfast line was chaotic at best.

The remote was dirty! The sheets and the pillows had hair on them before we even laid down. Gum under the sink on the floor and there was no hair dryer in the room. The front counter attendant brought one to the room but took her 20 minutes to find one in the hotel.

This stay, there were no problems with the keys,our room was clean and the service was friendly. Enjoyed our stay, the only inconvenience was there were 200 school age guests from Canada on Friday evening banging on our door a couple of times and a crank call at 1am. Breakfast on Saturday, we were not able to get due to the lines.. Not Best Western's fault, Just an inconvenience for us.

My husband and I stayed here for one night because we were looking for a Best Western off of Route 287 ( We had Reward Points to use). It was not easy-on, easy-off. It was a few miles off the highway, on a heavily trafficked divided highway, on the other side of the road. We saw it, but there were no left hand turns, so luckily my GPS gave us directions on where to turn to get to the other side. The hotel itself was very elegant on the outside and in the lobby. There are several banquet rooms ( one was set up for a wedding the next day) and there was a lounge/restaurant off the lobby. But the hotel itself has two floors with no elevator. When I expressed my surprise, I was told they figured they didn't need one, with only two floors. We are seniors, so it was a bit awkward for us. They did offer us use of the service elevator, which we declined. The room was fine, except that one of the beds was very close to the wall, a tight squeeze getting in and out of bed. And the Wifi was totally unsecured, with no password, so I didn't use it. The breakfast was excellent, in a large room with rows of tables. We stayed in four Best Westerns on our trip, and this was the only one with fried potatoes with onions and peppers. There were two types of cooked eggs, and both bacon and sausage, hot and cold cereal, and several types of pastries and breads. This is a hotel that seems to cater to large groups and functions.

This hotel has very much improved since my last stay five years ago. The lounge and breakfast area provide the traveler with the relaxing comforts required when travelling many miles from home. There is ample parking. The rooms are large and clean; and the bathroom provides ample quality. I would stay at this hotel if I am ever in the area again which is a strong possibility.

We booked the Honeymoon suite for one night. Room was very large and spacious. The tub is situated in the room but is not a Jacuzzi-the shower makes up for it! Multiple jets! Bed was very comfortable.

Very nice,clean place to stay. I went on a girls trip overnight and room was nice. Love the kitchen in our room. Staff was nice and friendly. I would definitely stay here again. Love the new carpets. Hotel smelled fresh and new. Banquet hall was very pretty. Ideas for an event or so. we were very pleased with our stay.

Stayed at best western for a funeral was soposed to be in a smoke free room and the room recked of cigarette smoke! Won't be staying there anytime soon,terrible! Always stayed there because 38 yrs ago had my wedding reception there when was just the regency house.really went down since then !

Stayed three nights to go into NYC daily. Hotel was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic. Also coffee was available in the lobby all day. Hotel was easy to locate and a good location to the train stations into NYC. Our room was near the front of the hotel but was very quiet, no noise from traffic. Pool area was closed for the season but looked very well maintained. The staff was friendly and the cookies at check in was a nice touch. Would recommend this hotel and plan to stay again when visiting NYC in the future.

I have stayed at this Best Western several times in the past for business. For the most part they are very consistent with appearance, cleanliness and a good staff. The front desk manager Jackie is always very upbeat and kind and makes you feel welcome. The price was much higher this time than it has been in the past. I assume because demand was higher this time around. All in all a good stay.

Wonderful place to stay. Helpful staff, comfortable rooms, great breakfast. I've stayed at this location more than once, and will gladly stay here again in the future. I only wish that the outdoor pool was open, weather permitting, and not just from Memorial Day until Labor Day.

The only reason that I have it a 2 is because the staff is friendly. The place is old, old, old, old hotel. They are getting ready to put carpet down, but by the looks and condition of what is down, that should have happened 10 years ago. I stayed 1 night in a room that also had a kitchenette. NONE of the lamps worked because the plug outlets were covered up. Only 2 directional lights above the beds. Also, I think that the drapes were taken out of my great aunt's house in the late 60's! DO NOT go to the restaurant and order the filet. I don't know what it was, but it wasn't filet mignon. Just had a taste of iron (blood).

This hotel is not great, but is very serviceable in a very convenient location. It has a very good breakfast and an evening lounge that prepares food well if you don't want to go out. They could use a new dryer. It took 3 tries on high to partially dry a small load of laundry!

I was able to check the room in question. The escutcheon was loose in the shower, and the curtain rod was loose. There was an additional blanket in the room, however, I am not sure when it was put into the dresser drawer. We have fixed the shower and rod. We also put an additional blanket in the room as well. There should have been two. I apologize for these inconveniences and have addressed these issues with higher management.

Clean and comfortable room. Excellent food in the lounge. Breakfast had lots of options. Easy drive into NYC, even during rush hour. My only complaint is that I was on the first floor by the pool and had bright light shining into the room that I could completely control with the curtains. I was offered a choice of floors and took the first, not realizing I'd be by the pool.

Wedding weekend. Kitchenette is nice to have. Noisy dirty halls. TERRIBLE dirty ventilation system. Rooms felt, smelled moldy damp. Crazy uncontrolled wedding of other guests was a little scary. Great hot breakfast though - eggs, sausage, pancakes etc

We had a group and the price was attractive. The staff are pleasant and helpful. My only criticism is that the rooms could use a more thorough cleaning. Still it's good value for the money. The breakfast was very adequate and the food we ordered from the restaurant was quite good.

We checked into room 108. As stated by previous reviewers the carpet was old and looked to be quite dirty. But it was the smell that was bad. The entire room smelled of mildew. I looked everywhere and could not find any but you could surely smell it. our son just happen to get room 208 and he said the smell came up into their room. They were able to open a window since they were on the second floor. We had a family emergency while we were there and just dealt with it but I would not return.

Stayed here for one night. Beautiful place, have been here before, for conferences and such but decided to stay overnight on way to pick up friend nearby for an early flight from Newark airport. Hotel Ok but no more. Cleanliness is an issue. Breakfast were good and offered a prteey good choice. Air conditionners are full of mold and mildew and the smell in the room is awfull. Pool area is nice and the water was great.

Absolutely horrible. Iill never use this location for an event again. Event manager is irresponsible and untrustworthy. Food was terrible and gave some of my colleagues stomach aches. Our hotel policy is to have security on premises for all formals. Unfortunately your group did not disclose the event until very late. Therefore, we were obliged to hire our outside security person for a nominal fee for your event to make sure all guests of the hotel were comfortable. Our bartenders are very professional as was the food. The event manager did make sure everyone had a good time before she left for the evening. There were zero complaints about the party or the food.

I recently had my daughters Sweet 16 in the Empire Room and it was just perfect. There were great places for pictures like the gazebo and garden area. We were so happy with our service and hospitality. It was really easy working with Monika and she had everything perfectly set up. The room was the perfect space and everyone at the party danced all night on the dance floor. The lights on the ceiling gave it a real cool vibe. Everyone really raved about the food as well. The Lounge outside the room was also great for the adults to hang out. We also stayed in the hotel that night and it was a great room with lots of space. Having breakfast was also a perk and yummy! I was so happy with our total experience and would highly recommend it!

Large motel, fine rooms, clean, average breakfast, huge breakfast area. My first room on the first floor had a moldy smell. A very helpful person at the desk, Taylor, helped resolve this issue. This is a 2 story motel without an elevator.

Overall, good place to stay - location is a bit tricky just because there is not much in the immediate surroundings, but otherwise no issues. Good food, service, staff and comfort. Just be aware that there is only one laundry machine.

This is a first-rate hotel at a reasonable price. Hotel is modern and well-maintained. Sits back from the road so there is no highway noise. Rooms are spacious and spotless, bathrooms immaculate, and the best free breakfast we have found anywhere. Highly recommended.

If you can find a better deal, go elsewhere...this is an aged hotel and BW has a better reputation than this one implies...good staff, but a bit dingy...if you desire internet, this service was sorely lacking--would drop wi-fi in the middle of multiple transactions to get tickets in NYC...frustrating stay, we were in town for a wedding and should have done more research...this is where the wedding party got the "best deal"... :(

Our first time staying here; we have stayed in 3 other hotels in the area. This property provided the best room for our overnight stay travelling from TN to ME . . . we had to see the grandkids! We will be back! The king room with kitchenette will be our choice. Bed, pillows very comfortable and the hot breakfast was very good. Did not have time to check out the swimming pool, which there were an inside pool.

This hotel really needs help in every department. One thing the buffet for our 50th reunion was delicious. The elevators didn't work. My carpeting had wet spots all over. The kitchen floor had grease on it and the cups were broken.

Have stayed here a number of times in the last seven years visiting family in area. It's two stories but no elevator. Arrived late and was put on second floor. The hallway smelled old, musty, and just disgusting with torn and worn carpet and wallpaper. Went down and asked for first floor room. The hallway on first was better. but low ceiling which felt closed in. Various panels in ceiling were dislocated and discolored. The room was clean with mini fridge/microwave. Our fridge didn't cool well so maintenance brought a new one very quickly. The staff are friendly but was strange in the morning when going through the buffet, (standard fare, eggs, pancakes, bacon) the one attendant would stand and watch what you took to a point of being uncomfortable, as you were taking three pieces of bacon instead of two. There was a tip jar at the end of the line. I have never seen a tip jar for a little breakfast buffet, unless they had an omelet station which is fine. The whole thing was just uncomfortable and awkward. The room was not professional done as the photos show. trim in bathroom not fitted well, wallpaper ripped and not matched up, Shower wall connected to tub with wood moldings??? Get a carpenter, paper hanger, etc. to do your repairs and renovations. Going cheap makes it look like crap. As a loyal BW diamond member, this is one motel I won't be going back to. It is definitely not a BW plus hotel. On the plus side, the bar served a good cocktail at good price with friendly staff. But it is small.

We do however, offer assistance with luggage to the second level. The hallway carpet is being replaced in the near future. It has been approved by Best Western. Our second stay here was better than the first. Lots of noise then and we would advise avoiding the weekends when this happened. The rooms were clean and sleep quality was great. The breakfast was above average with a very helpful staff. Located close (3miles) from Interstate 287. Their is a restaurant in the hotel otherwise you must drive elsewhere on Route 23.

Rooms were not cleaned well, too much noise, specially there was sweet 16 party going on, and they were smoking and drinking all around the hotel and the fire alarm also went on, a very very scary experience with this hotel....

My apologies for the noise. We are a banquet facility as well as a guest room facility. Sometimes parties get a little loud, but we had two security guards on property to ensure the noise level will not disturb guests. They were hired for the comfort of hotel guests. The fire alarm sounded as a result of the candle ceremony. Fortunately, for all concerned the situation was handled professionally and as efficiently as possible, and thankfully, there was no immediate danger to anyone in the hotel. Our rooms were cleaned as efficiently as possible. We strive for a high level of cleanliness.

Room was not clean. Extreme noise from banquet room. No supervisor on duty over the weekend. Hotel not clean. Supervisor not receptive to complaints. Broken item in the room (lights, etc). Coffee machine not cleaned. Room was not made up. No elevator to bring luggage up to second floor. In general a very unclean hotel.

My stay the Best Western Regency was horrible and I would not recommend anyone to stay there. the people are rude and the food is not that great. My room had many problems, such as my bed being broken and my showerhead spraying water everywhere. I I told the staff and they did not fix anything. Def not worth the trouble to stay here.

Old hotel needs updating. Other guests smoked marajuana and security didn't seem to be able to control it. The smell permeated our rooms. Party and fights in the hallway. We were on the first floor not far from the lobby but no hotel staff tried to stop this

I stayed here because I was attending an event on property. I was not satisfied with my stay. Upon check in I used the public restroom and it needed service, as it did during my stay. My room had no sheers only blackout curtains that were worn and not hung properly( my friends stayed in the room next door and did not have this problem). The vending machines did not work properly ( others in my group had the same problem). The dispensers for soap, shampoo and conditioner sucked and I gave up trying to use them. I was there for an event and was not happy to have the food I paid for pulled early before we were able to eat, the staff got to eat the food I paid for and I did not and neither did several others attending the event.

Clean room, no mold in bathroom, clean bed. Better than some high end hotel rooms I have been in. Cannot comment on breakfast . Started too late on the weekend. Had to leave earlier than start time and had no express breakfast "snack to go" on the weekend. Room only had one chair. Needed two of them. Room identified as handicap accessible- it had a normal tub/shower you had to climb into.

First let me say how much Lance paid attention to detail setting the room polishing the silverware making sure our needs were attended to others walked in and out without inquiring definitely nice to see !!! Then there was Gabriel was pleasant kind and accommodating I didn't realize he was an employee when I asked him if he would buckle my shoe I just had surgery and unable to bend but being well heeled is always in fashion .... Yogi too was nice and helpful . It is refreshing to see ... Customer service from people who enjoy their jobs !!

The staff members are very nice here, from the desk clerks at check-in & checkout to the very awesome person who took my room service order and brought it to my room so promptly. Also, it's a nice touch that we got a packet of David's cookies upon check-in. These small details are remembered and appreciated. Very much appreciated the free wifi, room service, and the in-room refrigerator and microwave. There is plenty of free parking and the lounge has convenient hours if you need dinner but don't want to drive anywhere. There is no elevator in this hotel, so be prepared to climb a couple flights of stairs if you're not on the first floor. The bed was super comfortable so we got a good night's rest even though rude guests awoke us by slamming doors and talking loudly in the hallway at 7am. The bathroom could use an update, as we had a bit of a time getting hot water out of the tap, and the wallpaper was a little worn, as was the carpet. I'm not sure the rooms get vacuumed every day, but the thermostat worked well. Housekeeping was banging on our door before the official check-out time despite us having hung the Do Not Disturb sign, so be prepared for that. Overall a pleasant stay. I would recommend this hotel and would return if in the area.

My wife, mother-in-law and I stayed at this hotel for one night. We were given a room in what seemed to be a not so safe area next to an entrance/exit not secured at night. When my wife inquired about getting a safer located room, the front desk clerk was not very nice to her. Although the hotel was booked, she could have been a little more understanding. The hallways are beautifully decorated alaong with the rooms for a 3 star hotel that seemed like a 2 star prior to that. The beds were not very comfortable, but worked for one night.The breakfast the next morning was adequate along with the pleasant attitude of the attendant and the front desk clerk when we checked out.

The front desk seems to be a little disorganized and the cleaning staff is not adquate. My room and the room of others that were checking in that day were not ready even after 3 PM. The room attendant did her best to get things ready in a hurry but they are definitely understaffed there. But the rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was good.

We were in town for a wedding and needed to book a one night stay for 3 rooms.. This hotel came up in our price range and rating, Upon check-in we were immediately upgraded to the Honeymoon suite ( no it was NOT our wedding ). The other 2 rooms were nice as well. Large Flat screen TVs, fridges, and a microwave. The staff was very friendly and responsive. The included breakfast was fine. The downside is that this 2 story hotel does NOT have an elevator, so if you cannot do stairs, you'll need to book on the first floor. Also, the shower curtains are slightly short. Note to ALL Hotel chains in the USA - Please order shower curtains 2" longer and you will have less flooding and water damage !

we had a handicap accessible room with a tub. We had lots of space for the scooter and rollator. The room was clean, big, lots of space. Internet was good. This hotel was about 45 minutes from the Bayonne Port, NJ to catch our cruise.

Accessible room is only SORT OF accessible. There is a roll-in shower with hand-held shower head. There are grab bars for shower and toilet. BUT - There is too much furniture in the room, so it's difficult to manipulate wheelchair. I had them remover ONE of the 2 giant chairs and ONE of the 2 tables. In the bathroom, the sink is about 39" high, so, if you manage to reach the faucet, be prepared to get water all over you. You'll have to use toilet or shower to spit out when brushing teeth (gross). Only mirror with light is in bathroom - ABOVE the sink, so you had better bring your own lighted mirror. Closet bar is also higher than normal - so you won't be able to hang anything in closet.

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality services offered by the hotel and the staff; helpful service, clean rooms, great pub. Believe me, after a long working day, the pub was an oasis for us! We have stayed for a one night before going to Manhattan. The hotel is in average condition. We had an issue at check-in but the staff was very friendly. The room smelled smoking but it was clean. The breakfast was below the average. Had a free WiFi with good signal. Would recommend it if you look for a budget clean hotel the meet your needs.

I have never been so disappointed before. First off, I had them upgraded my room to a King Suite with a hot tub and I agree to pay for the upcharges which was rough $200 per night which was $400 roughly altogether. Lets just say I would rather spend that $400 on something else. What I thought was a mini-vacation turned out to be a horror! When I first checked in, I noticed the floor was a little sticky, which I chalked it up to the windows being open. Whatever, right? WRONG. I later found out the room had ANTS! It was crawling in my bed, the floor, and mind you, I did not bring food into my room the first night I was there. I decided to ignored that and try out the hot tub, that's the reason why I booked the room right? Funny thing is, the faucet was not secured and you can barely use the dial to change from hot to cold..I know I wanted a hot tub but I didn't intend to scald my skin off. I did not bother them. I figure when I check out, I will tell them what was wrong with my stay and they would compensate me or something..Yeah right, I didn't even get an apology from their front desk. Later, I received an email about my stay so, I wrote about my experiences and they offer me a 20% for the next time. I am sorry, but I rather you placed the 20% on my previous stay because there is NO chance I am staying there again. But of course, when I requested that my email went unanswered. I don't know if they truly care for customer satisfaction but I would not recommend this place. Unless you want to sleep with ants.

I was visiting from Marietta Georgia. I booked the room in advance at a great price. The front desk staff were very polite and helpful. I would really like to give Jamie Jackson front desk receptionist 100 just for having a great attitude. She always greeted you with a smile and willing to help you out in any situation. The manager Mrs. Mary was always available and a pleasure to meet. The rooms were very clean and neat. The housekeeping staff were amazing. My bed sheets were changed daily and fresh towels stayed in the bathroom, that really made a difference to me and was greatly appreciated. I'm planning another vacation soon and I won't feel comfortable any where else. I will recommend The Best Western Regency House Hotel to all my family and friends.

Nice place for the money. I stayed for 3 nights and staff were courteous, breakfast was good, room was clean and odor free. 25 miles away from Liberty state park(park whole day for $7) from where you can board statue cruise. Once you visit statue, board cruise to New York and get down at battery park in Manhattan. Once done with site seeing in New York City, board NY water taxi from Financial district dock back to Liberty state park for $7 per head.

PROS- easily accessible from Route 2, fast check-in, clean, well-maintained and manicured property; friendly, helpful staff; reasonable drink prices at the bar; pool was clean and appeared to be well-maintained; Mary and Maria are adorable! They will do whatever it takes to make sure you enjoy your stay. CONS- housekeeping needs MAJOR improvement! Rooms do not seem to be vacuumed daily; 2-night stay, floor was visibly dirty when we arrived and during the entire weekend; bathroom also not cleaned- used bar of soap was in the corner of the tub when we arrived and still there when we left This weekend, there was a private event being held throughout the entire hotel. Although the group pretty much takes care of everything themselves, I think the hotel management takes this for granted. Rather than providing more staff to meet everyone's needs, there didn't seem to be many people available when needed. For instance, pool towels ran out and weren't refilled and I heard people complain about how long it took to get food they ordered. Overall, I like the hotel because it's convenient and they host several special events and shows throughout the year. If you find a great deal online, take it, you'll get your money's worth, especially for a one or two night stay. I will continue to attend events at the hotel since I live in the area but I won't be in a rush to stay overnight.

My wife and I visited the area for four nights for a family wedding. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff allowed to get some food even after the official hours were past. The one man went from table to table offering coffee. You usually don't see that at a chain hotel breakfast bar. The room was very nice and comfortable. It appeared that the place has been renovated in the past several years. The only problem was that the room AC struggled to keep the room dry. It cooled okay, but the weather was extremely humid and the AC wasn't effective in removing the moisture from the air. The fitness center was small, but I used it a couple times and the treadmill worked well.

Arrived at 6 pm. No receptionist. !0 min later, she came and said "I'll be with you in a second." waited another 5 min. Finally got a key and went upstairs with stairs because no elevators. Terrible burnt fish smell entire 2nd floor. Carpet was dirty like after the flood. The smell was from the room assigned for me. Window was open and noisy air-conditioner was on. Went to the receptionist to change the room. She said no room available, then she said one available but not cleaned and need to clean. Waited at the breakfast area for 40 - 50 min. Finally got to the reception again. "It should be ready." walked up the stairs with suite case. The second room was not cleaned. Walked down to the receptionist with suite case again. "House keeper is gone for the day and I don't know what to do. No other rooms are available. We are completely sold out." Kids were screaming and running around the reception area. Technician came and said he put a device and it should be fine for the 1st room. I went there but still smelled. Left the window and the door open until sleeping. Slept 2 hrs, woke up with smell. 3:30 am, kids screaming and running around the hallway. 4 am people talking loud in the hallway. They continued talking for 1 hr. This was the worse experience ever had. Next day, the driver told me, "Did you stay at the dump?"

I have never stayed in a hotel where the pool closes at 8 pm on a weekend during summer.....why do they even have a pool?? Poor rating because of the pool. Regency always had a reputation for being a good place to hold an event or just stay for a vacation. Best Western has done a great job of keeping that tradition up. My room was in the back end of the complex and, although it was a hike to the breakfast each morning, it was very quite with the beautiful woods for a view. Even saw a few deer back there one day. The staff was friendly and helpful, the bed (and specially the pillows) was comfortable. Surprisingly, unlike so many other hotels, EVERYTHING in the room worked!! Looking forward to my next trip.

Nice hotel. We had a larger business room with 2 TV's and pull out couch great for families. Clean but furniture needs update. Comfortable bed. Nice large outdoor pool, nice well kept grounds. Small restaurant with limited menu for dinner. Hotel is on major highway so getting in and out is fine but you need to take a roundabout to get back to opposite side of highway to reach hotel.

I was traveling alone and not familiar with this area, just passing through. I stopped at a couple places but hotels were booked. Thank goodness they had a room but it was pricey and the only one left, double bed, suite. The hotel is nice on the inside, the rooms are clean. Some issues getting the ac off fan and on cool and issues with the remote but someone from front desk came right up and fixed the problems. Breakfast was good. The hotel could use a little updating on the outside. I think I overpaid for the room and the hotel was difficult to get to. I was tired and just wanted to click the ac and tv on without issues. The staff was very helpful.

We booked 2 rooms for 3 days while in town for my son's wedding to a Jersey girl! We originally booked 4 days not know exactly how many we would need. We ended up dropping the last night with no problem 2 days before our arrival. Our check-in person was Jackie and she did an exceptional job and super friendly. We had asked for rooms away from any activity as we wanted to get a decent sleep prior to the wedding. My son and some of his groomsmen were the last room down a long hall and was very quiet. We had one problem the first night as 3 bus loads of kids arrived around midnight and were a bit noisy. My husband slept thru it but not me. The other 2 nights were very quiet. The rooms were clean and spacious, even with all our gear for the wedding. A nice fridge and microwave were an added bonus. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and always smiled and greeted us. The breakfast was good 2 of the 3 days--don't know why the eggs were a bit off the last day and the sausage as well tasted odd. The waffles and French toast were fine. We were able to enjoy the wonderful (large) pool after the wedding, which took place on the hottest (most humid) day of our stay. Boy, did that feel amazing! All in all, a decent stay.

We stayed for a wedding in the area along with other friends. Other than 3 bus loads of noisy high school teens who kept us up from midnight to 2am one night, the stay was nice. Had an excellent time by the full sized pool, very nice for a hotel.

The receptionist was not being very helpful and was very rude. She also did not provide any further assistance when the hotel couldn't provide the service they were suppose to. The hotel also doesn't provide transportation to bus stops/airports.

I would avoid this hotel if you can. There was nothing good about it. Actually the pool wasn't bad. The worse part is all the party rooms they have right in the lobby by the restaurant and lounge. They go on into all hours of the night. They close the kitchen at 11 and the lounge was out of everything because she said they gave it to all the parties going on. It was also very dirty.

For one night the hotel does its job, good nights sleep in a comfortable bed and good size room. Hotel decor, especially carpets etc looking dated and tired. Wide choice at breakfast and the staff were fine. didnt get a chance to try the pool but it did look ideal. Bar staff were really helpful.

When you complain about weak wifi signals, you will be directed to their internet service provider. What the heck, why should you get involved with their service provider? In the name of vending machine, they only have name, no vending machine. Yes, they only have sign board of vending machine. When I tried to find vending machine following sign boards, I ended up in some poorly maintained garbage room. Finally I had to buy water bottles from front-desk @ $2 per bottle. Paying $2 per bottle?? Yes, I paid $2 per bottle for water which was not cold. Front desk executive simply pulled 2 bottled from crate lying in front office and gave to me. I have asked my employer's travel desk to look for another hotel for my second day stay. Run guys run.. Don't forget to look pictures of AC's vent posted by me. Good luck for your stay.

We have spent years using other area hotels in the area. All have gradually cost more and offered less. Quality was also going downhill. We rediscovered the Best Western Regency last year and have been pleasantly surprised; the service, the room, the restaurant/lounge, basically everything. Add to all this a very competitive pricing and it's all we could ever require. Great sums it up.

I stayed at this hotel because of a function I attended, which was held there. It was a pleasant stay, although I though the rate was a bit high. The hotel appeared to have underwent a recent renovation. The breakfast was the typical selection of cold items as well as eggs and potatoes. I would highly recommend a different Best Western, in Fairfield NJ, about 10 miles from this one (although it is undergoing an exterior renovation right now). I believe the rates are about the same, but it looks like a classier place (decor wise) and has a much better breakfast (omelet station and the like).

"Second Trip to this Hotel"

This was our second visit in the last 6 months to this hotel. It has improved the landscaping in the entrance, however more could be done to update the entire facility. There were two large parties and a wedding while we stayed here and the staff placed us in an area where we didn't hear a bit of noise from all the guests. It was nice to be able to relax as we attended our daughter's wedding in another venue.

Here I am literally trapped in my room with about 200 college students on the floor straight up drunk, screaming, cursing and partying like its Spring Break in Panama City. And the manager had no intention of doing a thing about it. Calling the cops very, very soon. Any hotel that had this much disregard for its guests needs to go under. Drinks are pounding on all the doors and I'm afraid to leave my room! Insane!

If you had kids they have cable channels for them like Disney and Nickelodeon.(I went to another hotel up the highway from here and they had nothing on their "premium channels" ??) nice pool for the summer. 66

"Ants in the Bathroom"

When we walk in everything looked nice, but soon find ants in the bathroom. We also put the do not disturb sign on the door and they still came in and change the bed. We did not was the room changed over.

Overall, this BW is average for the individual business traveler. For larger business groups or parties, it does offer some big reception/meeting rooms. This hotel is pretty old and not totally up to date. But the rooms are okay, the other facilities are okay and the price is reasonable. The breakfast is very good. The staff are mostly very friendly and helpful.

We had an emergency and needed somewhere to stay. We proceeded to the room and when we entered the room smelled musty and old. I pulled away the breadspread and found bugs on each bed. There was also one on the wall. We left the room quickly and checked out. This hotel needs some major updating with new beds, bed spreads and fumigation.

Nice hotel in general, staff is very friendly and attentive. Hotel is nice but is showing a bit of age. Rooms are large, two problems I ran in to, the desk had no work light had to drag over lamp from across the room and the person who had the room before me had left pieces of beef jerky here and there on the floor The breakfast in the morning is very good and the staff who work it keep it stock and cleaned up. Overall what could have been a great stay was a good stay because of room problems. Still would recommend the place if you are in the area.

I stayed at the Regency House Hotel for 2 nights and overall my stay was very comfortable and they were offering an excellent price online. Check-in was quick and easy. My room was very clean and the bathroom was clean as well. The two complaints for the bathroom were the towels and fan. They were very scratchy and not very absorbent. The fan did not really keep the bathroom from fogging up at all. Even the mirror outside the bathroom fogged up. The mattress was amazingly comfortable. The noise level was not bad at all (hotel is located on route 23 but kind of set back). The breakfast was very good (saw some reviews that the decor was outdated but I could care less about the decor as long as the food is good). I had waffles one day, French toast another day, eggs benedict (tasted yummy), scrambled eggs with veggies mixed in (they were okay). The person that worked breakfast was quite friendly and offered me coffee. The coffee was quite good too. They also offer donuts, bagels, apple juice, yogurt and fruit (oranges and apples). I did not eat at their restaurant though. My overall stay was very pleasant. Would recommend this hotel.

The rates are reasonable, the staff is friendly, and they serve a very good buffet breakfast. The hotel is somewhat "worn" (e.g., the carpeting in the second floor hallway, the HVAC units in the rooms, the equipment in the little fitness center) and could use updating, but the beds are really comfortable. I have stayed there every week for a few nights when in the area on business, and plan to continue to stay there so long as the rates are competitive.

I needed a place to get some rest after moving out of the family/estate house while I prepred my new condo rental for my move in .. I hadn't been to the Regency House for several years except for some fine affairs held in their banquet rooms (Nephew's wedding reception..) Rather than pay twice as much and be 3 times as far away at the Marriott Court Yard in Parsippany, I decided to see if Regency House could be a good ooption.. The rate was half what the Marriott gets and the Marriot doesn't include a free breakfast! Regency House has more old-wolrd chard and in their beautifully clean hallways and the rooms are all large w/ a frdge (not one of those 2 ft boxes either) and a micro-wave, a coffee maker w/ supplies and a good TV with full cable including HBO... Since it isn't pool season, I didn't get to enjoy the large pool on-site.. RE-CAP : Very clean and spacious rooms w/ fridge, Microwave and cable.. Free/included breakfast, Business center w/ internet, full bar and restaurant on site.. and all for half what many of the bigger chains charge !! WIN WIN WIN !!

Traveled to NY for a sporting event. This hotel is 30 minute outside of NY. I was upgraded to a suite! The staff members were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back to this hotel next year.

Where do I begin. We met with the gentleman who booked our daughters sweet sixteen party. I forget his name. Anyway, we were assured over our two hour stay that they would deliver everything we had agreed upon. We left thinking how painless this was going to be as we were stressed to the max hoping everything goes perfect. Fast forward night of her party. My daughter was ushered upstairs with her "court" and reemerged about 45 minutes later. This is the equivalent of a wedding party then being introduced to the guests in the main room. The kids came to us sweaty, hungry, and above all, thirsty. I learned that no Finger foods were served to the court, no soda was offered and the air conditioner was not turned on even after one of the kids asked for someone to cool the room. Next, we were missing ten of the "high tables" that we were promised. Kids were standing, no where to sit. I had to keep asking the wait staff to refill the soda and water pitchers for the kids. After the initial foods were served, we could no longer find ANY of the wait staff, they disappeared. Then I come to find out, there was no sign as promised to signify to guests arriving which room was for her party. I had to find someone to hand write a piece of paper and hang it on the post. Thank God for our amazing DJ. He kept our kids and guests distracted from all these things that they really didn't notice. Which brings me to my last point, and the most egregious of all. With about an hour left, (10:00 o'clock) I see a man dressed in black pants, boots, and polo shirt standing in the rear of the room. Looking out of place, I approached him and asked if I could help him. He said that he was with hotel security and he had a complaint. My heart sank. What did one or some of the kids do? Oh my gosh, how am I going to explain this to their parents etc. since I am ultimately responsible for them. Taking a deep breath I asked what was the complaint? He went on to explain the hotel had received SEVERAL complaints from guests that the music was too loud. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! The music in a sweet 16 party in a wedding venue was too loud. Are they serious! I looked at him with disbelief an said " I will take care of it" and he left the room. I then went to my DJ and instructed him to turn up the volume. He did. I was so angry at his that if he came back to complain again, we were going to have a serious problem. He didn't. All in all, this experience for myself and my wife can only be characterized as unprofessional. It was a bad experience and stressful constantly hunting down personnel to rectify basic needs that should have been addressed. My advise is,if your on the fence about choosing this venue, do not walk away, run! If you do decide to go with it, remember these words: " I told you so!"

Booked the best western for business travel as some of the others were booked solid. Comfortable and affordable. I checked in on a Sunday my booking agent did not have me for Sunday but the reception desk was able to accommodate me. Only problem, the restaurant was not open. Drove down the street to a Mexican place, did some shopping and back to the hotel. Felt safe, clean. Second night had dinner in restaurant, had shrimp fettuccine it was delicious. Staff was very friendly.

Really loved this hotel! Front desk was super friendly and awesome! They give you cookies when you check in, which is the cutest thing ever. We were also greeted and bid farewell each and every time we left and entered the hotel, which was a great touch. We stayed in the honeymoon sweet and loved the room. It had a whirlpool in it and mirrors all around it (even the ceiling). Very romantic room. They had done a beautiful job setting up rose petals on the bed, as requested by my fiancé. Overall great experience and I am looking forward to my next visit here!

I was sent to hotel by the school I was attending. I would not recommend to anybody else that was going to school to stay there. The room had strong odor, the carpet was old and lumpy. the heater was loud and went on and off every 15 min.The towels hard and scratchy. plumbing fixtures were loose in wall.

"Stayed there for the location"

We needed a hotel for 3 nights in the area and picked this one because of the location and the price special. The hotel was adequate. It was clean and since we basically needed a bed and a shower it was okay. The rooms could use some updating. Why are hotels like this always decorated in shades of dark brown? Several small items needed to be fixed in the room. The breakfast was just ok. I must say that the staff seemed well trained and pleasant. That was probably the best thing about the hotel.

"Nice Hotel, noisy hallways"

The hotel is conveniently located, clean, well outfitted, etc. But the hallways are covered with alternating stretches of carpet and tile. When someone rolls their wheeled suitcase down the hall, and hits the tile sections, it sets up an awful racket that was annoying to listen to when I was trying to sleep.

"Great place for any stay"

This is an older hotel and it shows in the hallways, lobby, and rooms. However, the room was fantastic- got the mini suite with the full kitchen and the whole room was fantastic. Plenty of space to work, comfortable beds, nice place to cook and eat, and just a nice room overall. Breakfast here was top-notch also. A nice buffet with plenty of choices including eggs and sausage or bacon each day so you can start the day off well-fed. I recommend it for business or personal travel.

I stay at Best Westerns a lot. This one is very nice and has an upscale Indian vibe to it. Nice rooms, lobby and bar/restaurant. Food was very good! I noticed in the room there was a Hare Krishna book instead of a Bible (at least I didn't see a Bible). Wish I knew more about the background of this place and why such an influence of Indian culture. I didn't see any mention of it on their website and to me, it's what makes it stand out.

"Worst hotel room stay ever"

Although parts of rooms appear to have been updated, furniture was old, cheep, chipped and peeling. The rug was old, filthy and stretched/saggy with ripples that we literally and dangerously kept tripping over. The room smell was overwhelming with disinfectant spray that permeated into bedspread and curtains- I felt like things were sprayed to kill germs, but nothing was clean. The bathroom was visibly dirty, with hair stuck to the mirror from prior "guest", and dried dripping stains on the mirror frame and bathroom wall. Front desk staff was rude at one point, provided incorrect information at another point for accessing internet, which required a call to an internet tech. Decor in breakfast area was tacky with formal lighting and Americana art work combined, along with cafeteria style tables, some covered with dirty/previously used linen tablecloths. Upon checkout, front desk staff was very accommodating, because they waived the no cancellation fee when we checked out 2 days early, due to the poor condition of the room.

"Horrible Communication"

Housekeeping was horrible. They knocked on my door before the normal check out time and I requested a late check out. This ruined my stay. I would not refer anyone here that wants to get their rest that's for sure. The room was very nice and clean but the early wake up from housekeeping just ruined my stay.

"Rooms need updating"

After unpacking we discovered the AC unit blew some kind of material onto my face and stained the bedspread. The man sent up to move us had to go thru several other rooms to find one that had the fewest problems. The one we accepted had a tv that didn't work and all of the lettering on the old AC unit was gone and we had to guess what the settings were. They had used a permanent marker to write Heat and Cool on two of the settings.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for our friends' wedding. The lounge/bar was great. The breakfast was fine. There was always coffee in the lobby and that was nice. The room itself was about average. Someone left a cement/dry-wall trowel in our bathroom. The pillows were stiff and uncomfortable - imagine using folded up bed sheet as a pillow. The bed didn't have a comforter. Overall the experience was about average.

"Conveniently near NYC"

Great place to stay if you are going to the theater in New York City (and much cheaper). Large and nicely furnished room, free parking, free WiFi and free breakfast. The shower handle was not in working order: only very hot or very cold water. For complicated reasons I made separate reservations for two consecutive nights. The night clerk told me that she could not guarantee that I will keep the same room for the second night, although I lamented that it would be very inconvenient to switch rooms in the morning or even be without a room from 11 to 3 (check-out and check-in times). The morning clerk was much friendlier: she re-checked us into the same room, and the overnight worry was unnecessary.

"Highly recommend as a budget hotel for commuting into New York"

First time I stayed here was in August 2014 as I was moving out of NJ. As much as I love staying in NYC, sometimes I'd rather save on the hotel, so this is where I return. I've stayed 6 times since then. It's usually a half hour to 45 minute drive into the city, or you can take a train or bus very nearby. The hotel is clean and the rooms are fairly big. The beds are very comfortable! I haven't noticed a problem with noise, although one night the air conditioner was a bit noisy. It's nice that there is a seasonal pool and bar. The breakfast is quite nice for a free buffet, and the area is set up with tablecloths. There aren't servers, but there is one employee in the room who makes sure items are replenished, and will gladly get you a cup of coffee. Overall, a very nice hotel, especially for the price.

"Broken TV, No water presure and inaccurate bill."

The title above pretty much sums it up. I was quoted a different amount than what I was billed. The shower had absolutely no water pressure. The TV was broke and no one came to fix it , after I complained. The amount I was quoted for the bill was much lower than the actual bill I received. I had to waste time while they redid the bill.

"Good and Bad"

Jackie the FD Manager was so helpful with my reservation process and also Arlene helped a lot and was very friendly Bar waitress was very nice but the food was horrible. The Food in the Restaurant is shameful it tasted HORRIBLE the steaks were less than mediocre I really regret having our anniversary dinner there. The wings and the bread were good but when there's only 5 entrees on the menu they should be amazing and this definitely was not the case. We ordered the Sirloin and the Ribeye the sirloin was ALL FAT and so sweet I couldn't eat it but I didn't wanna complain as this was our anniversary.. Also Incredibly over priced and the wings were good but 6 wings, Who eats only 6 wings to an order. There is no Elevator so if your handicap plan ahead to make sure your on 1st floor, the stairs weren't too bad but were young... The TV Service they have is horrible it goes in and out and the DVR/ Cable Box was ancient and kept lagging the TV and the Guide would only work when it wanted to. Hotel is quite out of date in a few areas one thing I also noticed was the signs for "No Smoking" were not on or in the previously Smoking rooms which now are Non-Smoking however there is signage downstairs that says all 1st floor rooms are non-smoking and the front desk says the facility is non-smoking... If your gonna change something, CHANGE IT!!

Found a room in the hotel for us as it was booked at a great rate. Didn't even us the whirlpool bath. Best mattress ever on a bed. Best main desk clerk ever, cant remember her name, was there for three mornings.

"Introduction to New Jersey"

We flew into Newark to take in the Yogi Berra Museum on our way to upstate New York. The Best Western had the best value for the area. Everything was well done; large, well-equipped, clean room. The breakfast was fresh and generous. As mentioned by others, no elevator was a problem for second floor rooms. Otherwise, very good experience.

Fair accommodations for the price, but make sure you get a price deal on Expedia or the like. Beds are okay, cleanliness is okay, staff is okay. Definitely nothing special. Breakfast very good, much better than Hampton breakfasts which is what I am more used to. Less selection, but fresher food. The little bar and lounge area is a little sleezy but serves oddly excellent food!

I needed a place to stay for a business, and this hotel was not only convenient, but comfortable and had great service. The front office staff was courteous and really went out of their way to make sure my stay was excellent. I will definitely be coming back!

Excellent staff...clean and well appointed rooms...honest staffers! I unknowingly left credit card in room (slipped out of my wallet) and housekeeping/desk staffers found it contacted me immediately and had it safely there for me to retrieve.

"Would Not Reccommend"

The staff were friendly, and hotel was in a convenient location. The rooms were very gross and uncomfortable to be in. The bed was very uncomfortable. First floor is a designated non-smoking floor, but the hallways had a general musky old smoke smell. The rooms were pumped with air freshener through the vents to mask any smell of smoke, but I got a headache from the fake smells.

The breakfast was very good and I was surprised to see that the chef varied the breakfast menu each day. The staff was friendly and helpful. They responded immediately to a small problem in our room, The room was large enough for my husband's mobility scooter and had a roll in shower.

"High School Reunion trip"

Flew back to Northern NJ, for high school reunion...hotel we booked was well-located, reasonably priced, with comfortable room and bed and included breakfast and in-room internet. Decor was a little tired, but staff were friendly and helpful...breakfast offerings were decent and plentiful, but nothing special. Only real problem was that there is NO elevator to the second floor and this made taking a heavy bag upstairs rather difficult. The one elevator I located, was clearly NOT for guest use (very dirty, with some "droppings" on the floor-ugh) and went to the conference rooms....it was accessible, no sign to warn guests away....but MORE stairs to negotiate if you took that route! I do have to say, however, that apart from this, our stay was pleasant and comfortable and I would stay there again.

Our stay was a good one. Breakfasts were very good. Only problem was getting to there and to other places because of the location on Rt. 23, lots of u-turns!! Beds were clean and comfortable, did not like the dispensers for the soap, shampoo etc.

Decent hotel for the money. Quiet during week for business. Comedy/lounge are good. Weddings and banquets are common on weekends. Lots of rooms so usually something is available on short notice. Lots of places to eat as well as onsite.

Everything was great! Cookies at check-in, everything in the building was very clean. The bathroom/shower even had shampoo/soap dispensers-I really liked that! However, the conditioner dispenser in the bathroom was not working. I would have preferred the small bottles at that moment.

We just stayed one night at this hotel during our trip. Rooms were very nice. Staff was friendly. Easy on/off to highway. Wish we could have stayed longer. Stayed during Oct so pool was not open but they had a decent breakfast and the fitness room had free weights eliptacle and treadmill machine

"Family emergency"

We had to go up for a death of a family member. We've used this hotel for the past almost 20 years and have pretty much always been satisfied. This time the hotel looked much better. I liked our room better also. Had a separate sitting area, which gave my husband a chance to sleep while I sat in the sitting area. Just an extra bit of privace.

My stay turned into a nightmare after a a guest had damaged and broken a toilet directly above my guest room. the Hotel staff member was unable to turn the water off and caused massive flooding to my guest room and I had to leave the Hotel.

"Worst hotel experience ever!"

We blocked 30 rooms for my sister's wedding, 6 months in advance. During the 6 months leading up to the wedding the manager Mary Antoniello was impossible to get ahold of & did not return my phone calls after mutiple voicemails left. The week before our block was set to release guests called to book rooms & were turned away, stating "no rooms available". After learning of this, & Mary again unable to answer or return calls when went to the hotel. she was there & were told 13 blocked rooms were taken away from us for a "contracted group". This was done without any notice from the hotel. Since we made a stink about it, they relocated other guests to accommodate our guests. Discrepancy with rates occurred (guest being overcharged for their room). They booked me, my girlfriend, & kids in a king efficiency & told me they would put a rollaway bed in there for our daughter (no double rooms were available). Upon check in the front desk staff informed me that there was no room for a rollaway bed & booked us into a double room. Wake up call was not made to our room, even though we requested it. During our stay it was discovered that some guests had booked online through Best Western's website, instead of booking through the htel directly. These guests booked rooms for $10 cheaper than our "discounted rate" for blocking rooms. This hotel staff is completely incompetent. I do not understand how they deal with events, & we incurred so many issues. The only good thing that comes from this hotel is the vanilla cosmo at the hotel bar "The Manhattan Lounge". Excellent bartender!

I was greatly pleased with my choice to stay at this hotel. I had spent the previous night in a Holiday Inn about 10 minutes away from this hotel. I spent almost twice as much at the HI as I did at this Best Western. I was a little concerned with some negative reviews I ran across on Hotels.com but was pleasantly surprised with the quality and cleanliness of the room I stayed in. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. I will definitely return to this hotel on my next business trip to this area.

"Great value and location"

We stay here several times a year while visiting family in the area. The employees at the front desk and in the breakfast room are always helpful, cheerful and patient. Nothing fancy about this place but it is clean, you get free wifi and a very decent breakfast. In the summer, there is a nice pool.

"Excellent deal for the price"

Hotel is not fancy but it is newly renovated with comfortable beds, clean rooms and a tasty breakfast included. Wifi in rooms, latest model TV and a nice big pool in the summer. We stayed in one of the suites which are not huge but it is great if you have a partner that likes to get up early or stay up late. Refrigerator and pull out couch makes a longer stay comfortable if you're with children.
