    « Great stay ! »

Family friends were renewing their wedding vows nearby and had rented a cabin for the family. We were invited to attend and be a part of their family celebration so we looked around for a nice hotel. Experience with Best Western for business led me to look at your hotel. It was a great experience for a great weekend. Excellent value, wonderful local attractions.

    « Excellent Value »

Very nice, clean hotel. The value was excellent. Our room was clean and the staff was eager to please. I would stay there again and recommend to others. Our receipt was e-mailed to us and we took advantage of the express check out.

« great room in a average looking motel »

looks like a standard motel then you open the door and the rooms are exceptionally remodeled. property was adjacent to a large truck stop but you wouldn't know from in your room. you get a discount at the truck stop restaurant with your room key

« Very good place to rest and travel from. »

This hotel is next to a truck stop, BUT don't let that bother you!! This is a diamond in the ruff. I usually stay here on my way to the east coast and also on my way back to Michigan. Nice staff, breakfast is ok, but could have a bit more variety like breakfast sandwiches or hot eggs. Most BW's carry the frozen sandwiches and eggs that can be warmed with a micro wave. I would like to see that for this location, but all in all it is one of the CLEANEST BW's I have stayed in and that means the most to me!! Staff is friendly and I hope they keep up the good work!!

    « Quality, Convenience & Economical »

Very nice hotel that is priced right and convenient to I-77 and I-81. Great stopping point when traveling from Tri-State Area (Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania) to the southern states. We stayed in the fall, but it looks like they have a nice pool to enjoy during the warmer months.

« Great Place, Clean, Quiet, and Resonable »

This hotel was great, the price you could not beat, at the end of a long day traveling from Florida, it was very quiet, clean and the beds soft and pillows fluffy, has a free breakfast in the am, but we left before it opened, but highly recommend this place.

    « Very Nice »

This was a great place. Clean and updated. The staff were great. The food was good. The truck stop restaurant has anything you want from food to windshield wipers. I had only one problem and I did not have cell service. My room was on the pool side so no service. If you went outside and around the building you got service. Other than that the place was great.

« So clean and quiet »

We visited Best Western Bryson Inn on a Friday night. We made prior reservations for 1 double room for one night. The staff was professional. Our room was on the first floor towards the back of the building and very quiet. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. There is no microwave but there was a nice small frig and a blow dryer. I would stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.

« Mount Airy Best Western »

We stayed at this motel on our fall trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway. Located just off I77 it was easy to reach from the exit off the BRP at Fancy Gap. The lodging was very neat, clean and obviously well taken care of. The beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was also very good. We would definitely stay here again. Note: for those traveling on I77, this makes a very nice alternative to the much more congested area around Statesville.

    « Stayed here twice, a week a part »

While on our way to Charleston SC, we stayed here on our way down & then again on our way back home. It is within a quarter mile from the highway, so it is easy off & in the highway. I made my first reservation online & the return trip I called & spoke to Wendy at the front desk. SHE IS AWESOME!!! She remembered us from our first stay. On our first stay we stayed in room 117, which is a 1 queen bed handicapped accessible room. The bed in this room was a little to firm for me, but I have medical issues with fybromyalgia, so beds are sometimes always an issue for me. We didn't need the handicapped facilities, but the room was nice & roomy. I typically don't eat breakfast, but my husband said it was good. I did go down to get a cup of tea before we got back on the road & looked in to see what they had to offer. The biggest thing I noticed was they have full sized Chobani Greek Yogurt. No other hotels we have stayed in have offered full sized, non "diet" yogurt. They had a good selection of mix ins for the oatmeal, as well as a nice selection of mini muffins etc. On the return trip we stayed in room 108, which was a 2 queen bed, non handicapped room. It too was nice & roomy. The beds in this room were much more comfy for me. One thing I liked about each of these rooms is that they have dispensers in the shower for body wash & shampoo & by the sink there was a hand soap one. To me, this is much more economical for the hotel & less wasteful in the long run. If we are ever in the area again, I would certainly stay here again and recommend it to other travelers.

    « GOOD »

nice cleans rooms, next to freeway but was quiet, friendly staff, good breakfast- had Chobani yogurt. Did have to back track 7 miles to the town of Mount Airy. Would recommend have souveniers in lobby, One drawback -no elevator so had to take luggage up one lfight

    « Vacation »

Very good price, great staff, comfortable accommodations, great breakfast. Would recommend this facility to everyone. It was five miles from where we were going but it was easy to get there from the motel. Check out was super efficient.

    « Excellent Hotel »

We have stayed at this hotel several times. The staff is very courteous, considerate & over all very welcoming & friendly. The room is always clean. We would recommend Best Western Mount Airy NC to anyone.

« Great place to stay »

The ladies at the front desk during check-in were the greatest. This was the the most professional, friendly. efficient, informing, check-in process that I have ever had. The rooms were spotless and had many upgrades and items that made our stay great. Would qualify for a Five Star rating.

    « Good little hotel »

This is a good little hotel next to the Flying J truck stop on Interstate 77 in Hickory NC. I am telling you this because it requires two hundred characters for the review and good hotel is only nine characters

« Nice place to stay »

We stopped here on the way to Mount Airy for a visit, and found it to be clean, front desk staff very friendly, Room was clean and fresh, beds were comfy, location was convenient. Don't let it being next to the truck stop fool you, it is very quiet up on the hill. We will be back on our next trip to Mount Airy.

    « Owner of grading/ paving company »

Excellent staff the manager christy even tops off your coffee in morning and room was spotless I will stay again for sure, I liked the fact that they are proud of their town they explained all about Mayberry and all the great things that goes on here

    « Wonderful stay »

Great service wonderful staff Had unexpected vacation plans changed because of gasoline shortage. These folks were very accomidating. Assisted us with our needs. Excellent continental Brkfst. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Will stay again.

    « Great find! »

We stayed here when we visited Mt. Airy. It is quite a way out of town but still worth the drive, in my opinion. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and the room was typical but clean. The pool was so nice and clean! We enjoyed it very much! Coffee anytime & small snack in the check in area is a nice touch! Breakfast was typical but quite good. Thankfully, only a handful of folks there that night so the breakfast area wasn't overcrowded. The to go brown bag snack was lovely! Will stay there when we are in the area again!

    « Mount Airy Visit »

Visited over the Mayberry Days festival. The room is clean, bright and comfortable. We unpacked and went out to find some dinner and it took us at least 10 minutes to be able to turn left. The trucks (truck stop next door) kept coming and coming making it very difficult. Its about 20 minutes from the downtown area. The breakfast in the morning is nice and we appreciated the free newspaper. There is no mini-fridge or microwave in the rooms. Luckily we had a small cooler with us. A small upgrade to add mini fridges would make this very nice. We would recommend this to friends.

    « clean rooms »

overall good, clean rooms. not noisy, we were on the far side from the truck stop. even being next door to a very busy truck stop, it was really quiet. room was very clean and comfortable. the outdoor sign needs to be a little taller since the trees have grown up around it. easy to miss

« Budget, right off freeway »

We stopped for the night on our way to Fort Lauderdale Florida. Budget friendly motel with easy access right off the highway about 10 minutes from Mt. Airy. We had a clean, bright room with good internet service. There is a small breakfast room with adequate breakfast items. Great dinner at Nana's Kitchen in Mt. Airy which was recommended.

« Hillsville, VA flea market stay »

We stay here every year that we go to the flea market. Nice place/good deal. This year we were a bit annoyed with the other guests' rudeness of smoking on the balcony and we had to walk through it to get to our room AND the front end office lady doing the same outside the office door/under the stairwell.

    « Great value »

The room was very clean and the beds were great. I will say I think the previous guest in our room smoked because we could smell a distinct "cleaning" smell when we walked into the room. Other than that this was a great room at a very reasonable price. The continental breakfast was great!

    « Overnight stay »

We found this hotel via trip advisor app. It was a great overnight place to stay after a long day of driving. The stay began with a pleasant, helpful check in staff ( Wendy). Our room was spotless and I really enjoyed the liquid hand soap in the well light bathroom area, as well as the liquid soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower. The room was well equipped with microwave, fridge, iron, coffeemaker, and hair dryer. Another bonus was the clean outdoor heated pool which was open until 11 pm. It sure was a welcome for our aching bodies after being in the car all day. This morning we had a plentiful breakfast at the continental complimentary breakfast . All in all a very pleasant stay. We would recommend to other travelers. We will be back!

    « Gem of a Hotel »

Okay, here's a nice surprise in Western North Carolina! I have been staying at Best Western hotels recently because I heard that they were re-doing their sites. The one in Mount Airy was really great! The beds were comfortable, and the room was extremely clean. They even had soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower -- what a smart idea! I didn't have to waste a whole bar of soap for the one night I stayed. Also, their breakfast choices were better than most of the hotels I've stayed at for business. Who else has dried cranberries to put on waffles? And come on, it's Mount Airy, right in the middle of Andy and Barney and Opie and Aunt Bee land. You will enjoy this place!

    « Best Bed »

This motel is off of I-77 and seems to be new or remodeled. It is very clean. The desk clerks were friendly. The room has a hair dryer, table and two chairs, very comfortable bed, large flat screen T.V. with HBO, free WiFi, refrigerator, but no microwave. You can get a discount at the restaurant down the hill from the motel. The free breakfast at the motel included biscuits, gravy, waffles, pastries, cereal, yogurt and fresh fruit.

    « Gem of a Best Western »

Stayed only one night while passing through area. Best Western hotels often vary in quality and this one was a real gem. Room was clean and smelled clean as well. Facility is well maintained. Internet was good and breakfast was good. We had no complaints and would not hesitate to stay here again.

« Good place to stay »

We stayed here for two nights while in town for a wedding. The employees behind the check-in desk were very friendly and professional. The hotel happened to be full that night, but we had made a reservation long in advance. The (king) room was clean, but the carpet had seen better days. It smelled like a lot of Febreze had been used earlier that day. The bathroom was tiny, but the shower was the kind you want to spend extra time in. The room had a fridge, a microwave, and an iron and ironing board. The bed was very comfortable and it was very quiet at night. The breakfast room was cramped and the breakfast pretty basic fare. Overall this hotel seemed a bit expensive for what it was, but it was in line with the prices of other hotels in the area.

    « Vacation »

A great place to stay. This is a convient location to Hillsville, Va. There is a a very nice restaurant next door named Brendels which has great food. Close to convience store and gas station. Would highly recommend this as a place of choice to stay if in this area.

« Overnight in Mount Airy »

Was very impressed with this hotel! I booked a night in a king room. I was going to be driving 10 hours and I ended up arriving a lot earlier than expected. I called around 4:00 a.m on Saturday the 20th. The auditor who was working was very pleasant and said that it would be no problem that I checked in around 8:30 am. I REALLY appreciated this. Upon check in, the 2 girls did an excellent job. They redeemed my points for my free night, gave me all the information I needed, and had me on my way. The room was excellent - very big, clean, and spacious. They had a nice pool area that I didn't have the chance to use. Breakfast in the morning was crowded, but it was prime check out time! They had a nice spread of items to choose from. The only negative comment about my experience here was when I tried to get change for a $5.00 bill around 7:00 p.m. I wanted five ones so I could get a water out of the vending machine. I went to the desk since I was out of ones. When I asked for change the lady at the desk informed me they didn't have any. I find it odd that you don't have $5.00 in ones. I work for a Best Western and know for a fact that cash drawers have a set amount. I turn people away when they ask for big bills turned into small ones, but not a $5.00 bill... I was not very happy about that considering it was hot and humid outside that day.

« Nice Place to Spend the Night »

A convenient stop for our trip to the beach. The staff was exceptionally caring and helpful. They went out of their way to see we were comfortable. The place was immaculate and nicely upgraded for an older facility. Although we did not use the pool it is well maintained. There were two home style restaurants just across the street.

« So clean and comfortable »

We stopped in this Best Western on our way to the outer banks in 2013 and enjoyed our stay. We were driving through again, headed to the outer banks, and were so happy we did. Just like we remembered, the hotel was clean, comfortable and full of friendly staff. I can't recommend this hotel enough if you need a place to stay.

    « Cleanest room! »

Have to say this was probably one of the cleanest hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. No dust bunnies, no dust around the baseboards, very, very clean bathroom. Hats off to the cleaning crew! The bed was quite comfy, with lots of fluffy pillows and was beautifully made and bedding already turned down for us. Seemed a lovely welcome. We opted to skip the breakfast bar since it was rather cramped, but picked up coffee and then we hit the McDonald's down the street before jumping back on the freeway. This hotel was a great value for the money.

    « Mayberry Weekedn »

Spent 2 nights in Mount Airy at the Best Western Bryson Inn so we could visit the local Andy Griffith sights. The rooms were very clean, the carpet needs replacing but you could tell that it had been vacuumed. The pool was excellent, very good size and clean with nice tables/chairs around it. The breakfast was about what you would expect (waffles, cereal, breads, yogurt, fruit etc). The only negative was that the breakfast room was so small that if more than 4 or 5 people are in there you can't hardly get around to get your food or sit at one of the 4 tables they had. My family fixed our food and went back to our room to get away from the crowd. Of course we went to breakfast at probably the peak time of 8AM on Saturday. When we tried again at 9:30 AM on Sunday it was just us and 1 other couple, much easier to get breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel for the pool and cleanliness and location.

« Clean Room - Easy Check In »

Overall we were really pleased with our stay. The only downside was that the room seemed a little damp feeling in the air and carpet. We have allergies so this made the night alittle rough when trying to go to sleep after a long 10+ hour drive. Room was clean and the check in was easy. We arrived after 11 pm and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

    « Cleanest Ever »

The price was good and the personnel were outstandingly friendly and helpful. Best of all, it was ULTRA-CLEAN with a fresh fragrance. Room was quiet and well furnished. One of the best motels we ever stayed in. Keep up the great work guys.

« Great Facility, Great Folks »

The fact that this hotel is right next to a truck stop may give one momentary pause. However, this really is a very nice place and very well-maintained with a friendly staff. The pool is clean and inviting. And, probably because the site is up the hill from the truck stop and surrounded by nice landscaping and trees, we weren't aware of the truck stop except when we wanted to be. Why, you may ask, would one want to be aware of the truck stop? Simple! The food in the diner there is great, it is a short walk from the hotel, and it is reasonably priced. Overall, this place was a very pleasant place to stay while exploring "Mayberry" and a reasonable value.

    « Clean and comfortable »

This hotel is located near Mount Airy, N.C. which is the town where Andy Griffith grew up. Interesting sites and an all around awesome town. The Best Western Bryson Inn is with-in minutes from Main St. The hotel is clean, well lit and the bed and pillows are fantastic. Very comfortable. And the coffee in the lobby is always fresh and hot. Definately recommend a stay here.

    « No phone service »

The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. He assigned us a downstairs room since my wife has mobility issues. The room was large and well lit and decorated. The wifi seems to work okay but there is no phone service inside or outside. Even the restaurant at the bottom of the hill is sketchy. The breakfast. Area is small and was formerly a guest room. Nothing fancy. Adequate place for a one night stay.

  • 4
    « pretty nice »

Clean room, nice heated pool, clean, kept grounds, clean room, everything worked, friendly staff. Only drawback was right next to truck stop, and the breatfast was not as good as other best westerns. but it was all 'ok'

    « Nice clean motel... »

We stopped at the hotel on a Saturday night and it was full I think. The room was nice and clean, and was well stocked with shampoo and liquid soap. My biggest complaint is that there is no refrigerator in the room. Would I stay again - yes for one night - no if the stay was to be any longer. Refrigerators seem to be standard in most hotels/motels these days.

« Overnight stop on the road to Myrtle Beach »

Motel is located right off I-74 in Mt. Airy NC. Rooms are typical setup with one or two queen beds, flat screen HDTVs, or room was clean, but there was a faint mildew smell in the air and the room felt damp all night. Possibly a problem with the AC. We arrived at 10pm and were able to get a hot meal at the truck stop diner across the way. Food was good so was the service. The outdoor pool looked nice, although we didn't have time to use it. Complimentary breakfast was served from 6-10 AM. The variety was good and there was even a DIY waffle maker, OJ, Apple Juice, Milk, Coffee, Cereal, all types of dani shes, bagels, muffins, and biscuits and gravy. The dining room was small and busy. Overall I'd say this motel was decent, however, not worth the $85 rate. As an overnight stay it served is purpose.

« Not Typical Best Western Quality »

I chose this location because I'm used to the GOOD quality and comfort I usually get at Best Western. This place made me think that someone bought a Budget Host Inn and put the BW name on it. The first room I got was very damp and stank. I requested another room and was given one with no problem. This one didn't smell but was still somewhat damp. The bed was so-so on comfort, soft but not exactly what I expect from BW. The breakfast reminded me of a sub par cheaper variety of motel. Pepper gravy? Really? Guess sausage isn't on the menu.

« Perfect vacation travel stop over »

This hotel is a perfect stop for the trip back and forth between Ohio and Myrtle Beach. We stayed here on the way home. Excellent location right off I77 and I74. This is an older property with excellence beds (very comfy) and a nice clean pool and clean property. Great deal for what we needed. Next door to the truck stop with restaurant. Not much else around. Ten minutes from Mt Airy. All rooms are accessed from the outside. We heard no one all night. We hit the road at 6 a.m. and avoided the northbound traffic.

« Sparkling Clean and Friendly »

This is the one of the cleanest motels, maybe the cleanest, I've stayed in. The room, lobby, and breakfast room were all spotless. I didn't use the outdoor pool but there was a family doing so when I arrived. The breakfast is the usual, but also included biscuits and gravy, and very good toppings for the oatmeal and waffles. They also had full-size Chobani yogurts. The room AC worked perfectly, the carpet and mattress looked new. The bathroom was good, everything worked fine and was clean. The rooms open to the outside, there was no traffic noise. I'd stay here again. It was full the Saturday night I stayed there.

    « Amazing Nights Stay! »

After a couple of somewhat rough nights in other cities, it was such a relief to find this wonderful hotel! The room was large and very clean. It even smelled clean! The staff was wonderful. Friendly and helpful. The only negative that I can think of was that we didn't stay there longer.

    « Another Damp Room »

It's one of those hotels where the room seems damp and musty like there's a problem with the air conditioner. The fan runs all the time with no "auto" setting. Also didn't expect the motel with no elevators layout. Check the photos before booking.

    « Don't use Trivalgo - Best Western - Great !! »

I looked online for a room in the Mt. Airy, NC area and it appeared all the Hotels were booked. When I arrived, I was told this Hotel was $85 per night; however, Trivalgo charged me $118!! So much for finding the 'lowest' priced Hotel. Never will I use them again !!

« Lovely hotel in quaint town »

So enjoyed our stay a few weeks ago. Penny and Wendy were super friendly at the front desk and breakfast buffet. Made us feel right at home. While traveling from Florida to Pennsylvania this was the perfect place to stop. Great Mayberry town.

« Do you like the smell of cigarette smoke? »

There are a few advantages to staying here. As other commenters have noted, we found our room to be very clean. Most of the staff was very friendly. Some aspects of it are very well designed, such as the fact that the pool is somewhat removed from the rooms, so that no one has disadvantage of having to deal with the noise that inevitably comes with a swimming pool. My major complaint, however, is that for a non-smoking hotel, while the rooms downstairs have 'no smoking' signs on the doors, there are no such signs on the doors upstairs. And so while we were getting ready in the morning, we noticed smell of cigarette smoke coming in our room. The guests staying in the adjacent room had gone outside to smoke and their secondhand smoke was now in our room. Had there been no smoking signs, we would have just pointed toward the signs in the matter would've been done with; instead, we were left to kindly request that they not smoke next to our room. These idiots, who sort of looked like parodies of Elvis impersonators, just give us a dull glance and told us they couldn't see how their smoke was entering our room. At check out, I asked to speak with a manager but was told she was unavailable. When I complained to the girl behind the counter, she told me not to worry, that I would not be charged as though I had smoked in the room. (!?!?!) Of course, this was not the point. She then told me she regretted that we had such a problem and assured me that the manager would be in contact with me about it. This never happened. My recommendation: either stay bottom floor where there are clear signs that indicate no smoking, or better yet, stay someplace else.

    « Our stay »

We chose this restaurant because we like Best Westerns. The stay was great even though it was only for one night. We did not have to travel far to get to our vacation interest. There were plenty of conveniences for gas, food, entertainment.

    « Bryson Best Western »

We stay at the Bryson Best Western on our way to and from Myrtle Beach. The people are very accommodating: we are always able to get the type of rooms we need. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool area is very nice and always clean. There are good restaurants close by for dinner (Thirteen Bones-yum!), and the breakfast offered at the hotel is decent.

« Great breakfast, very clean »

A surprising find on a road trip. Very well-kept. We got the last room of the night. Appears to be a very popular stop with people traveling to Myrtle Beach so you might want to book in advance during the summer. The breakfast was extensive and filling.

« Great Value, Very Clean »

We stayed 2 nights, Friday and Saturday. The room was very clean and seemed to have new carpet. The water pressure and temperature was perfect. Also, the front desk help and server for the Continental breakfast was very nice, I was impressed with the cleanliness of this place. Good value

    « better than expected »

Room was far better than I anticipated. Clean and comfortable and priced right. Stayed at other hotels and paid more and got a lot less. Location was right off the highway with Wineries nearby to visit.

    « "Surprising find" »

We booked this hotel after reading some of the reviews and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very nice as was the free breakfast. The room and pool were spotless. The beds were comfy and the whole complex was very updated.

    « overnight stray »

One night stay while traveling to Charleston. Friendly, informative, comfortable, and breakfast was good and filling! Would stay again. Very close to Mayberry attractions. Took in the local Andy Griffith museum, downtown has the jail, Floyd's barber shop, Opie's candy store, Walkers soda shop, and more. Antique stores are nice and well organized! Took us backin time.

    « Nice clean hotel »

Comfortable beds, clean rooms, and friendly staff. It's located next to a large truck stop and have a lot of truck parking so I imagine they get a lot of business from truckers driving through. The breakfast was fairly standard but well stocked. Overall a good value for an overnight stop.

« Better than expected (despite high expectations) »

I chose to stay at this hotel due to the consistently good reviews documented within tripadvisor. Constantly remarked upon was the cleanliness of the rooms. Our bathroom was immaculate. The caulking around the tub looked new. We stayed in a king room which included two comfortable chairs (a fellow traveler noted that their king room did not have the same chairs). This is an older style hotel but we enjoyed our stay, sitting outside near the large pool during a quiet and unexpectedly cool evening. The breakfast included cereals, yogurt (plus toppings), waffles, boiled eggs and multiple sweet breads. The only shortfall pertained to the limited number of restaurants within the immediate vicinity. I would stay here again when traveling through NC.

« Very clean rooms and comfortable rooms. »

I stopped for the night while travelling up I-77. The desk staff was very polite and hospitable, and my room was easy to access and very clean. I enjoyed the automatic soap and shampoo dispensers in the bathroom so no more fumbling with opening small bottles and tiny soaps. Very comfortable beds. Comes equipped with iron, coffee maker and hair dryer. I did not have need for these items, but it's good to have them there when you do need them. My only complaint was the continental breakfast room is extremely small and the guests were crammed in very tight. There is a table and chairs blocking the emergency fire exit, which I am sure is not legal, but seating is otherwise extremely limited. Many guests were eating in the lobby or even standing in the lobby to eat because of lack of space. (And the waffle maker didn't seem to be working very well, but that's not a big deal). The breakfast offerings were very good; it's just the space to sit and eat was competitive to say the least. The nicest part, especially in the heat of summer, is the pool is open until 11:00 pm.

« Number 2, was very good, so 1 must be REALLY nice »

The BEST WESTERN Bryson Inn was an excellent traveler stop hotel. Room 219 was quiet and clean; and the water pressure for showers and sink was excellent. The beds were big and comfortable with nice sheets and thick pillows ( but I really dislike the thick pillows...personal preference). The free breakfast included at the regular items except for eggs and bacon. It had yogurt with make it yourself topping assortment, waffles, cereal, boiled eggs, etc. Complementary USAToday as you left of the cleanest looking outdoor pools I have seen in a while. Easy on and off I-77 and just a mile off I-74 with super easy access to both, plus a flying J right next door for gas the next day. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED STAY.

    « Neat & clean. »

Neat and clean facilities. Pool was heated and we enjoyed swimming in it.. The king siized bed was very comfortable, probably one of the best we've run across in a hotel. The staff was helpful..We would probably stay again when in the area.

« Nice hotel right off the interstate »

My wife and I stopped at this hotel en route to West Virginia, and found it to be a very nice stay. The hotel is on top of a hill right off I-77. The women at the counter were very friendly, and the check-in process was quick. The room was clean and the neighbors were all quiet. The breakfast was alright but in an extremely small and crowded room.

    « Great hotel »

Great hotel! This location was quite and the staff was outstanding. I would most likely stay at this hotel again. Room and bathroom was clean, bed was comfortable and internet worked well. I only got coffee but breakfast looked good.

    « wonderful experience »

staff were friendly and helpful. rooms were clean and comfortable. price was reasonable. Was traveling with elderly parents and there handicapped room was very nice. it had a large walk in shower that my mother felt safe showering in.

    « Good stopover »

This hotel is close to I-77. It was convenient when I had a family situation that involved a quick trip to the area. It's close to where I needed to be. Has a typical continental breakfast, comfortable bed and clean room. It does not allow dogs and in normal circumstances, I would have been traveling with my dog.

« Very clean and friendly »

From the moment we walked into the front lobby, it looked and smelled clean. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good, however the breakfast room is on the small size. Nice outdoor pool. Plenty of parking.

    « Nice Place Clean »

Good place to stay clean, quiet, comfortable. breakfast area is way too small. other than that it was great. bed was nice bathroom was great. Pleasant smell no smoke witch was great. Kids loved it so did wife.

    « Great stop-over »

We have stayed here several times before. It is very reasonably priced, immaculately clean and the beds are comfortable. What more could you ask for just sleeping. They are in the process of re-doing several rooms. Looking forward to seeing those.

    « Poor customer service »

We stopped on out way to Charlotte , very pleasant receptionist , I asked what the rate was she told me xxx I said you have an internet rate of $76. She said yes it is cheaper to book online so she gave me the wifi password but because it was after midnight I couldn't book for the Friday online it was giving me the option to book Saturday . I told her of my problem booking and asked if she could honor the rate, she said she couldn't . I also have an entertainment discount book/card which takes off 10% and she said she couldn't take that either. Being desperate I took the room. I called customer service who was very nice and tried to help she then told me she would contact the hotel to try to have them adjust the rate. They refused. Back and forth emails between the manager and she kept saying they weren't offering any discounts that night and they don't take my entertainment discount. When best westerns customer service confirmed with me that they did have the entertainment discount rooms available that night. Just poor customer service in my opinion , if I could have booked online I would have it was impossible they should have honored the rate. I'm even a best western reward member but won't be staying there again.

« Not up to BW standards »

I have been staying exclusively at Best Westerns since trying them last year. This is not one of their best. Higher priced compared to others, and less amenities. Older bathrooms and furnishings. No gym. It said there were refrigerators and microwaves but they had neither. Staff not nearly as friendly. Breakfast was worse than any other I had been to. Make sure you specifically ask for special rates for any club memberships you have because they don't offer them otherwise. The room was very clean. The bed and other furniture were old.

    « Well worth the price....clean room. »

The hotel is next to a truckstop but even so my room was quite quiet and peaceful to spend the night in. My first impression upon entering it was how wierd it was that the tv appeared to be half in the living room, half in the bedroom. A minor detail to me as I rented the room primarily for the bed and shower, but still wierd. The bathroom was exceptional, I loved the tub and it was quite clean. The king bed was lovely but the pillows had too much give for my tastes, but yours may vary. The room also had a binder in it giving suggestions for local events in the case you were a tourist. Not much for me, but I liked the effort the hotel made. The continental breakfast was a true gem... I loved the waffle press and they had good orange juice to go along with it, plus various Danishes and fruit though I skipped those. All in all, I would definitely give this hotel a recommendation for anyone in the area. And Danicka at the front desk was very friendly upon checking in, a true delight to the hotel experience..

    « Saturday Night Stay »

We wanted to stay midway between Waynesboro and Asheville along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Mount Airy seemed a good sopt and the BestWestern had good ratings and a reasonable price. It was a great stay. Room was large and quiet, Bed was comfortable. One thing to know is that there is no elevator and the rooms are on an ouside corridor. Breakfast was good but the room was a little small. Everything else was perfect.

    « BW Mt. Airy »

Positive: clean room, comfortable bed, great shower, great location, quiet. Negative: When checking in, an employee's loud children were in the lobby, were taken to a back room and could still be heard; they were later in the lobby again, sprawled out on the furniture. We reserved a room with a queen bed, were given a room with 2 double beds. The concrete steps are cracking and dangerous. Breakfast was out of juice at 07:00 one morning. Ice machine was locked up in the pool area - could not access it, had to buy ice even though we could see the ice machine.

    « Convenient locaton »

This hotel was convenient to Pilot Mountain State Park and Hanging Rock State Park where we went hiking. Even though it was a Friday night and the hotel was full it was still very quiet. Rooms were clean and breakfast was good.

    « Good »

The trip advisor reviews were spot on. This place is very clean with nice beds and linens, the breakfast was above average and good coffee. Excellent value for a night on the road, I would recommend this as a good quiet place to stay while travelling 77. The hotel also runs the family restaurant and truck stop across the road. We did not eat there.

    « Better accommodations 15 miles away »

Room smelled good and was clean. We wanted a frige and microwave and that was extra, plus a room with our requests was on the second level. Don't like changing rooms but the second room was larger and had the frige and microwave.

    « Pleasant Surprise »

I selected the hotel as a midpoint for a trip I was driving. I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel and the area. This is a cozy little piece of home in the mountains of NC at the VA border. Loved my stay here so much I made sure I stayed here on the way home a week later! I felt safe, the staff was wonderful and the accommodations excellent, couldn't have asked for anything else.

    « Friendly, clean facility »

Bright clean lobby with friendly, helpful staff. Clean, updated rooms. Comfortable bed, plenty of fresh, clean towels. No fridge or microwave though. Ok continental breakfast, basic cereal, waffle maker, pastries, yogurt.

    « Awesome Staff »

I have stayed at this hotel on may occasions over the years and they have always excelled in customer service and satisfaction. I highly recommend this Best Western for any business or pleasure stay. The property is well maintained and the rooms are always neat and clean.

    « Nice quiet room »

Our room was located on the back side of the hotel away from any street noise giving us a very restful sleep. Hotel is not far from downtown Mount Airy, Andy Griffith's Mayberry. Staff were very nice and made sure we had all we needed.

    « GOOD STAY »

This is one of our favorite Best Western's. Very clean and great staff. We always like to stay here and visit Mt Airy and catch up with Andy and Barney. The breakfast is good and and the area spotless.

« Great value for the cost »

Stayed here as a stop-over for a long drive. Check-in was easy. The room was spacious and clean. Queen beds are a plus. Plenty of hot water. Breakfast was decent for the cost. We will definitely stay here again for this annual journey.

    « THE BEST - Best Western »

This is the BEST - Best Western that I have stayed in. It is spotless! The staff are very professional & helpful. The bed is very comfortable as are the pillows. They have everything that you may need there.

    « Don't Worry! »

Don't let the fact that there are no other hotels around or that there is only a large truck stop at the bottom of the hill worry you. We found this Best Western to be modern, clean and comfortable. Not fancy, typical size bath and room, but very nice for the price. Short drive to

« This was a very clean and nice place to stay. »

We arrived later in the evening and were promptly checked in. There was some confusion with our groups rooms but the problem was quickly solved. The rooms were very clean. The beds and pillows were nice and comfortable. I love the soap and shampoo dispenser in the shower. None of those little bottles to slip out of your hand. They had the perfect little one cup coffee maker in the room. Very nice. The breakfast was not as nice as I have seen in some Best Western Inns.

    « Very Clean/Attentive Staff/Reasonable Price »

We stay at this hotel every year in our trip to Florida and back. It is easily accessible from the highway. The hotel is the cleanest I've ever stayed at. The beds are comfortable. It is entirely smoke and pet free. The staff is very polite and very attentive. The breakfast offers lots of choices. The price is very reasonable. We would recommend to anyone.

« Nice size room and double bowl sinks! »

We had a king suite(rm 201) which wasn't that much extra especially with 2 BW Rewards to reduce the price. While I prefer a first floor room, the suites are apparently only on the second floor but at least it was at the top of the stairs and above the office. The room had a sofa and chair in addition to the usual desk and TV(37"). The bathroom area had a huge L shaped counter top with 2 sink bowls which I wish they all had as it is very convenient. There was also a nice size refrigerator. The bed was very comfortable. Manager Christy brewed us fresh coffee after we checked in. There is a glass case with Mayberry memorabilia in the lobby in case you want a sheriff's hat and badge or Aunt Bee's Cookbook. We would definitely stay here again should the need arise as it is between 2 interstates (74 &77). It is next to Brintle's Travel Plaza with a 24 hour restaurant.

    « Just Right. »

I needed a quick and less expensive place to stay on my travel north. This was a good fit. I have no complaints. Easy check-in and a decent bed for a decent price. Breakfast was provided, but I only made a coffee. Thanks!

    « Clean clean »

Love the expanse of the King Suite, Clean room and there was no mold in the shower. Every thing in it's place. Older Building , but clean is comfort. Would recommend this hotel at 5 out of 5 . Will come back. Do your self a favor, as this is a great stop over. Breakfast is not hot Eggs and bacon and sausage, but biscuits and gravy Boiled eggs yogurt and fresh fruit is good in my eyes. \\will be back

    « Clean and comfortable »

This hotel was the only one off the exit ramp. it was very comfortable, clean, and had friendly staff. No complaints to be had. This hotel does not take pets, which could be a problem for people traveling with a pet.

« One of if not the cleanest Hotels I have used. »

Room was very comfortable, as were the beds. Hotel staff was very friendly. The whole place was extremely clean. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a nice clean room at a reasonable price. A+ rating from me.

« Great place to stay »

We found it to be a great place to stay. The free breakfast had a variety of things to eat. The staff was great. We found the room to be very clean. It is about 7 miles from Mt Airy. It is near a couple of different restaurants and gas stations right there too.

« Quick over night trip! »

Very nice stay for a quick over night visit to Mount Airy! We had a corner room that was very spacious and very clean! Conveniently located right off the main highway. I've stayed here twice so far and every time it has been spotless, quiet, and the staff is very friendly.

« Convenient off of I-77& A great place to stay »

I have stayed at this BW Hotel SEVERAL times on way to or from Florida AND when attending NASCAR races at Martinsville, which is an easy 1 hour drive from this location. The facility is VERY WELL maintained and looks much newer than it is, but still in great condition. The rooms are clean, neat and very adequate for an overnight stay. The beds are very comfortable. The front desk staff is friendly and treats you well. As a BW Rewards member who stays at BW almost exclusively, I was offered an upgrade without any mention, asking, or begging. This is unusual. The breakfast is the usual small hotel breakfast with a relatively small seating area. The only draw back this time was the gravy for the biscuits. It was very thin and watery. I have had much better gravy at most BW facilities. The lid on the container had a LOT of condensation on the under side and it apparently dripped into the gravy contributing to the watered down taste. The 10% discount at the Flying J truck stop restaurant next door is a good thing,

« Very clean and friendly property »

Travelling north from Florida, I found this Best Western conveniently located off of I-77 at Mount Airy. Very clean and well kept property, with friendly staff, and at an affordable price. I will stop there next time I am returning form Florida back to the cold north.

    « Not A Great Location »

This is one of the better Best Western Hotels. It has friendly and efficient staff, the place looks new and is very clean. The rooms are well appointed. The breakfast was a good typical Best Western, The hotel sits on a small hill but overlooks a busy truck stop. The restaurant at the truck stop serves good food at a good price. The town of Mount Airy is about 6-7 miles away, however the hotel is close to the highway

    « excellent stay »

I had an excellent stay here at Best Western Bryson Inn. The room was clean and comfortable. I recommend staying here to anyone. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was one of the best parts of our visit to Mt. Airy NC

« Fine place to lay your head (for one night) »

This particular BW was adequate. The check-in and check-out were easy. The bed was comfortable. The only problem we had was the black mold on the ceiling, especially in the bathroom. (The aforementioned was all I had to post, but BW and TripAdvisor mandated that I would need to post more, soooooo, to reiterate, black mold was on their ceilings. Now, is that what BW and TripAdvisor REALLY wanted from me?)

    « Pleasantly surprised »

We needed a hotel at the spur of the moment and took our chances with this Best Western. The AAA rate was great and the location perfect! The room had 2 queen beds and was very clean. I like a bathroom area that is well lit and this certainly was. The shower gel and shampoo dispensers inside the shower were a nice convenience. The q-tips were also appreciated - not something you get in most hotels. The room was 'basic' so there wasn't a mini fridge or microwave but there was a hairdryer, a nice little coffee maker, nice sized TV and an ironing board. As other reviewer's stated, there was a decent selection of items for the continental breakfast or if you prefer to have a heartier meal you can go to the restaurant next-door. Other than having to go on a wild goose chase for the ice machine, everything was more than satisfactory and we would certainly stay here again.

    « Dec Trip »

over all fair. The room we had is in bad need of update. Sofa fabric on the sofa has a hole in the armrest. Over all the room seemed to be clean however the dirty/stained carpet gave the room a dingy apperance

    « Convenient location »

The staff very friendly and the rooms very clean. The breakfast had a variety for everyone. The location is very convenient off I 77. The building is older and you could hear the people above you, doors closing and people talking. Our air conditioner rattled the whole time. If you are just looking for a place to sleep and you can sleep with noise, this would be okay for you

« Bryson Best Western Motel »

This motel is optimally located for a traveler driving on I-77, especially when driving south from Virginia & West Virginia. It is also useful when driving north on I-74 in North Carolina. Have Happy Holidays!

    « Excellent All Around »

Staff is courteous, knowledgable & very helpful in all respects. Rooms were clean & fresh. Lobby is clean & fresh. Breakfast is ready ahead of scheduled time. Would recommend this location to anyone traveling through the area. Prices are in line with all others. Excellent quality all around.

« No Longer Trucker Friendly »

After staying here a couple times a year the past 9 years this establishment no longer allows truck drivers with our irregular schedule to check in early. In 20 years of driving on 3 or 4 occasions hotels have denied us early check in but was surprised that, according to Heather at the front desk, there is a "new" policy that no longer allows drivers to check in early even though this hotel is attached to a truck stop. In fact, Heather stated a young lady had been fired the week before for allowing a early check in. Fortunately, the Quality Inn on 601 has room for several trucks and was eager to accommodate us. Brintles Truck Stop and the Best Western there will no longer have my business.

« Great Place to stay to visit Mt Airy »

The Hotel was very nice and clean with friendly staff. Having a homestyle restaurant next door was also a plus. Conveniently located to the interstate . We booked our stay online and the website was accurate to what the Hotel is. We would highly recommend a stay at the Hotel.

« as good as it gets. »

great facility. rooms were immaculate and very up to date. good internet. staff was very friendly and professional. very well managed motel. breakfast worth what u paid for it. quiet and very comfortable. good beds.

« Great place for an overnight stay »

Front desk very nice. Room clean, no odors, bed very comfortable. Although next to a 24 hour restaurant and truck stop, it was very quiet. Free wifi and continental breakfast. Not much around, a 24 hour restaurant truck stop next door, a subway up the road and the copper pot restaurant (which I do boy recommend). But hotel is worth the price and it is right off the interstate.

« Good Stop When Travelling on I-77 or I-74 »

Good value for the money. Nearby restaurant a definite advantage. The motel is very close to the intersection of I-77 and I-74 in North Carolina. A great stop when heading south after dealing with the hilly terrain to the north. It is a great stop when heading north after dealing with traffic from metropolitan areas to the south and east.

« stop over on our way to Florida »

The hotel was 3 km out of our way but very worth the drive. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in at a Best Western. We are big waffle makers - but only on holidays. There were 2 options: Regular and Chocolate chip. The hotel was small but It did not lack any of the big hotel amenities. I would certainly go back again and would recommend it to any one.

« Exceptionally nice property and staff »

We stayed only one night. Staff were helpful, courteous and pleasant. Great renovation of property. Trees block sign so we missed it on first drive by. After turning around, we saw the sign. Nice quiet location. Highly recommend to others.

    « Nice setting »

We stopped in to visit with our Granddaughter at Blacksburg, VA and this was a good place to stop as we traveled farther south. Made reservations ahead and read reviews. The BW is next door to a truck stop but there is a nice thick line of evergreens between and we were not bothered by the trucks. The BW is back off the road a little and has wonderful space for walking. We even walked to the restaurant which was part of the truck stop--that means good food. Got a 10% discount when we showed our room key. We were in room 101 which is adjacent to the laundry facilities and we were able to hear the whir of the washers and dryers but only in the bathroom and, as we enjoyed the convenience of our rooms location, we were not bothered by that. We did miss not having a frig in our room. The cleaning staff started work early--before 6 AM--and we were awakened by the cleaning carts but went back to sleep. Good breakfast in breakfast room before we hit the road. Would stay there again.

« Very Quiet and clean »

This is a very clean and quiet place to stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were concerned when we saw the truck stop next door but it was not an issue. Never heard any noise or had any issues. Would stay here again.

    « One Nighter »

We booked through Priceline (name your price) and what a pleasant surprise. The hotel was really neat and clean. Check I was easy andt he staff exceptional . Room smelled fresh as did the linens. Would stay there again.

    « Extremely Clean »

Close to MT Airy extremely comfort beds clean great staff. The Hotel is close to a busy truck stop makes it a little difficult to get to the entrance but nothing major. Very quiet and peaceful at the hotel even with the truck stop. The restaurant at the bottom of the hill is open 24/7 with great food and lots of choices.

    « Just excelent! »

We have stayed here three times and each time gets better. Rooms are very clean and very nice. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is great and the people couldn't be nicer. Located right off 77 so easy access. The price is economical and they do discount for AAA.

    « Consistently good »

Stayed one night on Sept. 26, 2015 as a stop over on our way to Hilton Head S.C. from Pennsylvania. This is the second year in a row that we stayed here. I reviewed the hotel last year and gave it five stars then as well. Cleanliness is the single most important quality my wife looks for in a place to stay and this place is impeccably clean. The breakfast (included in price) is more than adequate and we could not help but notice the constant inspection and cleaning of food area by employees. As an added bonus, the mattresses are very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I can think of nothing negative to say about this place. It is consistently good and we will stay here each time we travel to S.C.

« Good location for vendors at the Autumn Leaves Festival »

We were selling our Vermont Maple Syrup at the Mt. Airy Autumn Laves Festival in Mt. Airy. The hotel was perfect for our 2 day stay. The hotel is very clean with great and helpful staff. The hotel is located next to a very large truck stop. I thought that we might be disturbed by the trucks pulling in and out. This was not the case at all. The hotel is up on a hill and surrounded by trees which provides a nice secluded hotel area. . The noise from the trucks did not disturb us at all and we were on the side closest to the truck stop. We called the hotel before we arrived to make sure that we had a refrigerator in our room. We were told we did not. We asked to be moved to a room with a refrigerator. On the phone, we were told our rate would increase by at least 50.00. When we arrived and checked in with Noel, she informed us we would not be charged the extra amount of money. We were upgraded to a larger room with a king size bed and lots of extra space. We appreciated that Noel was able to do that for us. Later we had some questions about directions and locations of sites in Mt. Airy and front desk representative, Ashley was very helpful and friendly. We travel a lot of festivals in North Carolina selling our pure maple syrup and it is always nice to be treated so courteously by hotel staff!!!! The room and hotel is very clean and we thank the housekeeping staff. A special thanks to Amanda (housekeeping) who introduced herself and let us know she was available to help us with anything we needed. NICE!!. The coffee in the lobby was good - we typically do not eat the breakfast food in hotels because most of it is processed, and this Best Western has the typical packaged food, however, there are a number of good local food sources in Mt. Airey. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would recommend it to others!!

« Best western Bryson Inn Mount Airy NC »

This was a very nice hotel. The staff was friendly and the room was very clean. The only problem we found was it was next to a truck stop and was a very active area. The hotel itself sits up on a hill behind the truck stop and so is a little isolated from it. We had no problems with any of the wi fi, tv or other amenities provided by the hotel.

    « Cleanliness »

My husband and I stayed at a 5 star hotel in Daytona and we both rated this particular hotel in the 5 star category. The appearance of the rooms are modern, the wi fi works well, the rooms are clean and fresh smelling. Great choices for breakfast and the breakfast area is also clean. Left this hotel feeling clean, refreshed and full. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel. Thanks Wendy!

    « Nice Stay »

I was traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway and stopped here for the night and it was a good choice. Good service, a quiet clean and comfortable room. A basic restaurant at the truck stop next to the hotel along with gas for the car. Would stay here again.

« Great hotel for one night stop over »

Bryson Inn is an ideal distance from Canada heading south to NMB, for an extended vacation. It is about 475 miles from the Canadian border. The staff are friendly & accommodating and the scenery is wonderful. If you were a fan of Andy Griffith and loved Mayberry, the tribute to him would have been great but not open when we were there. Just a nice hotel in the BW chain.

« Trip to se our nrw grand daughter »

We stopped at this Best Western because we had an excellent experience in Apalachicola Best Western. We were not disapointed. Thanks to an excellent staff. We extremely happy with the accommodations. The facility was very close to the highway, so it was easy off, easy on.

    « Exceptionally Clean »

Would stay at this property again if going through the area. Very well kept and staff was great. Breakfast was typical but good. Not far from "Mayberry". Nice pool area. Highly recommend. Beds were so comfortable.
