Wanted something on the west side of Lincoln as we were just passing thru on our way further west. This was one of 3 motels in the area, so went with it because of the Best Western affiliation. In hindsight, should have stayed somewhere else - this place is a dump, and management doesn't seem to care. At check in, we were charged full amount ($100/night) right away on our credit card. Clerk refused to record my Best Western #. It's a run-down seedy place. We stayed on 2nd floor; stairway up was not lighted - a very dark place. Room was good sized, but bathroom was tiny, had no counterspace. No Kleenex in box; when we went down to lobby to get a fresh box, clerk couldn't understand what we wanted, gave us two face towels instead! No restaurants nearby; you need to drive ~8 miles to downtown area for food. Breakfast in am was a joke - lukewarm coffee in lobby, but lids didn't fit cups! Breakfast nook was windowless room, and contained a frig with 1/2 jug of oj, gallon of milk, several pieces of bread, tiny stale pastries, and 3 bananas. Was going to make coffee in room, but coffee maker missing several parts so inoperative! Go somewhere else. For $20 - $30 more a night, you can do a lot better.
To begin, the property was not as advertised. Talk about a slum lord, this place was downright scary. I frankly was afraid to sleep, due to the drug dealing on the property, people roaming around the parking lot and rooms all night. At check in the property owner charged us for the rooms and then extorted another 50 dollars cash deposit from each of us. It was very late and we were tired from the 10 hours that we had just driven. We were told that breakfast was served at 6 am until 9 am. We entered our rooms and I literally wanted to puke, the beds were stained, the floors had dried blood in the bathroom, and in front of the sink there was dried bodily excretions on the floor, the toilets were dirty, the heater air conditioner had spills on it from a beverage or something. We were told that these were the only two rooms available, yet there were only 6 cars in the parking lot all night. The next morning, we headed over to the office to get breakfast which consisted of a gallon of milk , cold cereal, and a banana.. Well we skipped breakfast, and went to the front desk to check out. There was a sign saying be back in 5 minutes, well, we waited the 5 minutes, then rang the bell several times, called the front desk from our cell several times. we waited 30 minutes before my husband went outside and started knocking on the owners door, finally the man came out and screamed at us , that we should have rang the bell. Then he was reluctant to return our 50 dollars extorted deposit money, my husband had to literally threaten to call the police to get the cash deposit back for a crappy, filthy , scary room . This was the worst experience I have ever had with a motel, or hotel; and I have traveled across the united states several times and have stayed at hundreds of hotels. Do not stay here.
An absolute dump. It's an old, old property that should be torn down. I arrived at 8 pm and a hand-written sign on the front door gave a number to call as no one was at the desk. I couldn't find the room after checking in and returned for directions—they were very little help. Lamps in the room didn't work. The woodwork had twenty coats of sloppily-applied paint. I am a Diamond level Best Western customer and stay at a hotel about thirty nights per year. I figured that even though this was a budget property, I could trust Best Western to provide at least an adequate property. I was wrong. This place really hurts the reputation of Best Western. I do not recommend staying here.
The room was clean and comfortable. I was either too late or there wasn't any breakfast or hot tea in the lobby. The smell of food in the lobby was mouth watering, the managers should start a restaurant.
Online this hotel looks clean and up to Best Western Standards. Unfortunately, it is not. When we showed up we were very politely greeted by the manager/owner and checked in to our room. Upon entering our room, the smell of lingering cigarette smoke hit us. This hotel is advertised as non-smoking, so this was a surprise to us. Then, upon further investigation of our room we found multiple sources of filth. The standing mirror had handprints all over it, there were old cigarette ashes on the nightstand, a large pile of hardened wax on the floor and bed, and there was still dried urine on the toilet. Immediately we packed up our bags and headed to speak with the manager that checked us in. He was very kind and reimbursed our room for the night. He also said he'd be happy to get us into a clean room, but at that point I didn't know what to expect in the other rooms so we left and went to a Holiday Inn Express. I hope they are able to speak with their cleaning staff and the previous guests to deal with the smoke smell and wax. The other items are poor house keeping. Hopefully in the future nobody else has this experience with them. Beware, photos online aren't always the experience you're getting into. We learned our lesson this time.
Nothing was clean in our room, there were crackers in the couches, 1.5 toiled paper rolls, no tissues, floor was not vacuumed, tub/shower was not clean, directory in room was full of gunk, toys under couch.
You do not want to stay here! I approached the guy at the counter and told him I wasn't satisfied with the parking or the climate control of the room. Temperature was set at 74 and would not move lower. (I like a cooler room)
Place to stay but was very disappointed with broken AC unit in room, cleanliness in room, selection at breakfast even for a power star hotel, no vending for snacks or drinks (both out of order). Felt like the prices were much higher than they should have been for the experience.
We should have asked for a different room at first sight. The desk leg was broken with splinters sticking out. There was no drain plug in the tub, so no bath. No Kleenexes in the holder. The worst part was the odor. This room had definitely been smoked in because our clothes still smelled after only one night. Not a good nights sleep for sure!
As a former smoker, I know the smell of a room that was smoked in a long time. This had to have been a smoking room at one point, and they had done nothing to remove the smell. My guess is that the drywall had never been replaced so it still had the smell. OR they had a REALLY bad mold problem, which is even worse. The carpet didn't look like it had been vacuumed. The shower curtain hadn't been cleaned completely as it had shower products on it from a previous guest. Even the water had a funky smell. The bed was okay, and the AC did its job well, but those are the only good things I can say. It looked like they had tried to slap on some more up to date features, like a nice looking sink area and updated the bedding and they thought that would be enough. It wasn't. Also, as a single female traveler, they put me on the back side of the hotel, which made me a bit nervous. I only stayed there because I really didn't have any other options, but I will never stay there again and I will tell people to avoid this hotel.
This Best Western is a bit run down, but provides good value. The bathroom could have been cleaner; for example, the floor hadn't been vacuumed. There was an HVAC issue in the first room and staff moved me to another room immediately.
The location was a little scary but we didn't encounter any person or reason to feel that way. But when the ice machine was behind a locked door...it kind of says a lot about the location. The room had definite signs that it had been updated and was actually much larger than I had thought it would be or than we actually needed. There were a couple minor items I mentioned to the front desk clerk upon check-out and hope that they were corrected.
Price is right and 3 miles to downtown Lincoln. Its a 2 star hotel so dont expect the Ritz, but if you just need a quiet safe place to sleep this is for you. Cold AC, close to a 24 hour mexican restaurant, Dollar General, and gas station.
Dirty bed linen with hair and a grease spot, and blueish spot, dirty used towel left in bathroom from prior guest, no tissues, broken hair drier. Flys. Not worth $100/night. Please don't waste your money here, spend $30 more and get a clean bed with no flies.
Everything needs repair and upgrading. New ceiling tiles in the breakfast room. Clean tables that do not wobble in the breakfast room. Lights over the beds need to work. The TV's need to work. I need to be able to understand the people behind the desk!
The room was huge. For whatever reason the two-room suite was $6 less than the regular double queen room when I booked it. I just don't understand a lack of pride in ownership though. There were half-done projects, miss-mashed everything. The entire wall of outlets and lights the beds were on didn't work. An outlet cover was missing. For goodness sakes, could we stop globbing gross yellow and orange paint on the walls of every low-cost hotel room? When I say "globbing", I mean no regard for where all the paint actually went. I wonder if this is how the owners live in their homes. I didn't feel the need to tell anyone about the outlets or lights not working as it didn't seem like they'd even care with how everything else was.
Convenient location right off interstate but that's about it. Had to wait 30 min + for hotel staff to arrive so that I could check in. Original room door wouldn't open. Hotel staff told me to kick it to open it. Did end up getting a different room. Lighting was not great which made for a dark room.
For the price they ask for, you'd be better off going to a motel 6. This place is falling apart. It's dingy, has a horrible smell, the ac unit in their king suite doesn't cool down the bedroom portion of the room.
We have stayed in numerous hotels over the years and this was by far one of the worst experiences we have ever had. Building has broken windows and a run down look on the backside. Our room has gnats flying around the sink, the shower curtain had mildew on both the outside the shower curtain and the inside shower curtain. The coffee make still had the previous users coffee pod in it. The room has a strong cleaner smell to it, but it didn't seem very clean. We just had a feeling of get to sleep so morning can get here and we can leave. The breakfast was really not much of a breakfast, and coffee wasn't even ready when the breakfast was supposed to start. Never again. Pass on this place and find another.
As a long-time elite member of BW Rewards that stays over 20 nights in hotels annually, this was by far the worst stay in the US ever. The room was dark, damp, had odor, and no hot water for a shower. The entire experience had the "ick" factor from bedding to towels to amenities. DO NOT STAY HERE!
Overall it was a good room. It was quite and the people who worked there was very nice. There was no breakfast the next morning like the lady told me when I checked in. She said something about donuts and coffee between 7 and 9.
The room was clean and the front room was spacious. The two televisions and refrigerators were a surprise. The larger refrigerator's freezer was not very cold and did not re-freeze the ice packs. The two queen beds were very close together and the surge protector that powered the alarm clock could easily be unplugged or the switch bumped to turn it off. Once I turned the switch on, the alarm clock came on, but 2 of the lights over the bed still failed to work. No one was present for my checkout which was 6:30 am. I stood outside in the chilly wind (was under 15 degrees with the windchill) ringing the two different bells that were on the office door. No one came. I was joined by another guest wanting to check out; I waited outside for nearly 15 minutes for someone to show up, but no one ever did. It was disappointing at the lack of customer service in the morning. I needed to get on the road, so I left the room key in the room. Perhaps a box needs to be set up for room keys to be deposited into for early check outs? I never got a receipt for the room either, which I needed for reimbursement. Would I consider staying here again? I would, but not if I needed to leave early, and not if there was another Best Western option. As a BW Gold member, I am disappointed at the lack of customer service.
We had to stay in Lincoln for medical testing. This hotel had everything we needed and more. Refrigerator, hair dryer, ironing board, desk and a sofa. The owner(?) was very helpful and kind when we needed help finding a lost cellphone.
Very disappointed with the supposed continental breakfast. We paid a good amount for this hotel room because it said it had breakfast included. All we got was a brown lunch sack with yogurt, muffin, banana, and a granola bar in it. Very disappointed as our 2 year old has milk intolerance and could only eat the banana. Needless to say we had to go get breakfast somewhere else before continuing on our trip, very upsetting for the money we spent.
Stayed Aug. 6, no toilet paper, room smells moldy, no washcloths, cut a/c off at 11:50 p.m. Hot night. No breakfast served. Bag given w. oatmeal bar, diet yogurt, diet apple drink, banana. Excuse was our maid didnt come Saturday.
We have stayed in many hotels over the years and this was one of the best. They have excellent customer service and the hotel is close to many of the city's attractions. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
We arrived at 11:30 pm. Waited to check in along with 2 other patrons for 30 minutes. One patron called and the owner responded she was in her way back to the hotel. The room was clean and spacious but our bathroom had no shower curtain or stopper. Checking out no one was available to get a receipt.
Despite the outside appearance, this was surprisingly welcoming on the inside. The staff went above and beyond expectations. The rates are great! The rooms are spacious. The location was good. Would recommend!
Staying at SureStay BestWestern in Lincoln, Nebraska was great. Reena, the front desk attendant did an excellent job at keeping us happy during our entire stay. She provided us with a big room for all of us. She was always on call to forfilled our needs. The to-go-bag breakfast was perfect too. The right stuff to get out kids and us going. Loved it! Thank you...
This is the filthiest suite we have ever stayed in. The owners should be ashamed. For $250.00 plus you would expect a decent clean room. There wasn't even hot water! The AC spewed dust and I got hives from touching the curtains!
Nonfunctional refrigerator, missing phone, iron, hair drier. Old construction, shabby furnishings, cheap updates, door frame broken with poorly latching door that did not seal, bathroom door warped, won't close. Old bathroom fixtures. Stayed in better hunting cabins.,
Distressed property. In staying at this hotel it is apparent that they have purchased a hotel and bought a franchise to be best western affiliates. However the hotel is full of furnishings that appear to have been taken out of another hotel which was being remodeled. None of the electrical plugs around the bathroom area work, nor do those at the bed. In all the staff is excellent but that doesn't make up for the very poorly maintained rooms. Best Western should step forward and actually look at the hotels and properties that have their Name on them. Properties like this damage the reputation of Best Western. I find an unfortunate to say but I will never go back to the hotel. Again the people were nice but that doesn't do it for me.
My stay at the SureStay Best Western was great. The staff was friendly, the hotel and grounds were clean, and it's location is close to the downtown area and the interstate. There's even a gas station across the street. As for me, id stay there again anytime.
We are an elderly couple touring the USA and our stay at tis motel was great. The exterior is still being worked on but the room was COMPLETELY remodeled and it was huge. No smells, no dirt just clean. Upon checking out a wonderful young lady gave us waters togo along with yogurts and muffins and garnola bars.. I highly recommend. 4 stars
The rooms are clean, quiet, and the motel is easily accessible from highway 77 and interstate 80. The host is very pleasant and helpful. There are plenty of parking spaces and gas stations and eateries are close at hand
Great place to stay at a great rate. Especially if traveling with a pet. The room was great, cozy and perfectly suited for my road trip needs. Totally suggest it as a place to stay. Staff was friendly and helpful.
No one working the lobby waited 10 minutes to check in, then room wasn't ready had to wait another 30 minutes. Tv didn't work, room smelled, light bulbs burned out, the place is a dive. Would never stay there again.
Bad part of neighborhood (we didn't know), room was super dark and dingy. it's like they took 2 rooms and made into 1. Barely any hot water, no bathtub plug, room smelled. we had been traveling for 6 hours and this hotel was right off 1-70, bad mistake! Kept getting up at night to make sure our vehicle was safe. Only saving grace there was a great sportsbar(big red) down the street with great atmosphere and good food.
Nothing fancy but clean and friendly helpful staff. Multiple restaurants in walkable distance, gas station right across the street. Had plenty of parking for my truck, easy to move around. Reasonable pricing for the room.
Stayed here for work for multiple nights, this place is close to restaurants, gas stations. Easy to access. Front desk personnel went above and made sure that we were happy when staying there. Will stay again when back in area
Very small room. I reserved a single queen room and got a single double bed. The bed was hard. Couldn't get hot water in sink unless you ran it a long time. Shower was stained dirty. Went to use the shampoo bottle that should've been new and had to take the cap off to get any so I'm not sure it was new. Had a hard time understanding the check in clerk with plexiglass and N95 mask and an an accent. The shower handle doesn't stop at off just goes round and round. How Best Western can put there name on it surprises me. BW used to be good.
Excelente hotel!! Check in was quick and easy & staff were friendly. My room was very clean and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable too!! It was the perfect place to stop and rest for the night, I will definitely be back next time I pass through Lincoln.
The staff were nice and courteous the rooms are remodeled and they're very clean this hotel is a good value I would give it a five-star rating I can guarantee you to park semi trucks as they have a big parking lot and they do accept pets.
not the best but OK for the price, easy to get to but didn't seem the be the best location, Ice machine was locked up at night and some lights in the room did not work. room was very big and had plenty of space
We reserved two rooms for two nights. We left after the first night and did not get our money back for the second night even though we found a cockroach in one room and another room smelled of smoke which they said was impossible because it was a non-smoking room. It is a run down building. I'm surprised Best Western lets them use their name.
No deadbolt on door, bathroom had a leak and there was standing water in floor, coffee pot broken and no blow dryer. We were put in a room on one side of the motel out by a 4 way red light with no other guest on that side, felt unsafe
This hotel was not what you expect for a SureStay by Best Western at best it was a bad Motel 6. It was decorated to look like a SureStay by Best Western but the over all quality was very poor. They had another guest check me in and he didn't know what to do. I recommend you stay far away for this SureStay by Best Western.
Wouldn't change a thing about our stay. It exceeded our expectations. Newly remodeled and modern. Clean. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was helpful and friendly. Pack N Go breakfast was great. Will definitely use again. Well worth the price.
Unassuming on the outside but very cozy and comfortable on the inside. Rooms were surprisingly spacious as several rooms have been expanded. Very nice drive up motor inn. Only suggestion would be a larger TV as the TV was a little small. Staff was very friendly and the location was conveniently located near the freeway as well as a Casey's and several restaurants within a miles drive.
Went to check in after I made reservations a month in advance. Once we got there the owner said she wouldn't honor the price that it was booked for but was willing to give a room for double the price that we had already booked it for and was charged. Needless to say we walked out.
We had 3 cats with us and being able to park directly in front of the room helped. Clean and the room was a suite. If you're looking for a pet friendly place to stay this is a great place. Make sure you are a responsible pet owner. So they continue to let pets stay. Pet fee wasn't bad.
Pretty dated motor inn that needs some TLC. Outside doors, so a little loud, even though only a handful of people staying. Rooms are large. Beds felt like they were quality mattresses, but well worn and need of replacing. Room was clean. Friendly front desk staff, but very slow checkin. Should have read the reviews before booking. Expensive for what you get.
This facility was run down on the outside and frankly the inside wasn't too much better. Reasonably clean inside but not what you would expect for a $100 room. It seem to be more like a $39 place. This goes to show you that more money doesn't always mean a good experience.
We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. It is actually a motel. This was the first time we stayed at Surestay. The room was actually a suite. There was a true separation between the living room and the bedroom. We were concerned about road noise since the hotel sits on a main road. It was actually very quiet. The bed was quite comfortable and the shower felt great. There was plenty of hot water. The breakfast was a grab and go.
I booked this hotel the week before arriving, and only chose it as a result of Lincoln and Beatrice being near capacity the weekend we arrived. The interior of the room was not very appealing. The sheets had rust stains, the couch had a hole in the side of it and the room did not appeared to be vacuumed for a while. The bathroom was not well kept. There was a dark film around the tub, the shower curtain and the toilet handle was loose and needed to be held for there to be a flush. If the hotel were to be the cheapest, I would stay in a pinch, otherwise I would stay elsewhere.
Rooms are very clean and up to date and the wifi works great. No complains other than quite a bit of construction material in parking lot. For the price a great value. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The lady at the desk was very friendly to my husband and we got our room pretty quick and everything was nice and comfortable for the long journey me and my husband had for us. So it was a very nice and calm experience. Very easy for breakfast and very nice enviroment.
They have painted the exterior fairly nicely but the surrounding area is mostly light industry and retail. I got a very large 2 queen bed suite. It was clean and because the windows are small and high, i was not bothered by road noise. Also the dogs couldn't be watching anything going on outside, so never barked.
No complaints! The primary thing we look for is cleanliness and this place was clean. The room was very reasonably priced. We would stay here again. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our dog slept well too!
After making the NON REFUNDABLE reservation through Best Western website we arrive and ask for a room overlooking the parking lot so we can keep an eye on our vehicle. The front desk clerk dropped the dirty sheets and towels in the lobby and proceeded to the desk to check us in....That was nasty..... She increased the price of the room by $20.00 to accommodate our request. We stepped into the room to find dirty Q-tips on the floor and sticky coco-cola residue on the desk. The double pane windows did help keep the road noise down, but since they had not been cleaned this year, you couldn't see out of them...so much for a parking lot view. I didn't know this was a pet friendly hotel until after I arrived, so the stench of pet urine in the room was another surprise. The sheets were clean but the bed covers smelled like bad body odor....couldn't wait to leave. Didn't see the Prison 3 blocks up the road when we drove there as it was dark, but we sure saw it on the the way out to HWY 80.
My husband, dog, I planned to stay a night on a road trip. A giant snow storm in Wyoming kept us here for 3 nights total. Best Western Sure stay reports their pet policy is $10 per pet up to 80lbs, per day. This particular location asked to charge me $20. At first it was stated this was due to the dogs weight (60lbs), and then stated this was a change in policy that had just not been updated online yet. They did end up charging me the appropriate price after I pointed out that l wasn't the stated policy. Front desk is not attended so you have to call or go ring the bell if you need something. Often they told us they'd bring what we needed to the room and never did. Overall met expectations for a budget highway motel. Clean rooms. These were my only two complaints for the entire stay.
nice place older but clean and very comfortable . the staff is very helpful. it is easy to find this place .gas and some shopping are close by with easy access to the interstate. just a very nice place to stay.
Staff at Bestwestern were professional and polite. Room are clean comfortable, plenty of surroundings for restraunts, some restaurants are walking distance, or a 5 minute drive . Also Their some older establishments that were interesting to walk through.
First the good news. The bed was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was pretty clean. Carpet was newer looking. It looks like they have tried to make improvements over the years. No hot breakfast because of covid (and we understand that) so instead they did provide a nice sack grab and go breakfast with mini muffins, granola bar, a mandarin orange, a small apple and a bottle of water. Parking lot is well lit. The bad news: Hair dryer was broken. Dead bold on the door did not go into the door frame so you couldn't use the dead bolt. The bathroom fan didn't work and there were a couple of holes in he tub like someone drilled into it. The Sure Stay is on a very busy noisy road. If I had not brought my white noise machine along, I don't think I would have slept. At check out there was no one there, just a basket for your key so we couldn't tell anyone about the problems.
We needed a place to stay when vacation reroute turned a 2 day trip into 3... Had to search for an employee in order to check in (rang bell - called phone # 4 times = 20+ minutes) employees were nice. Nice large room - was clean - slightly updated. Bright parking lot. Tiny TV, lukewarm shower did not drain - lots of room/road noise, Wi-Fi barely worked. Not terribly impressed - room price should have been more in $50 range - not $70+
The rooms were nice with a lot more space than I was expecting and the service was great. Stayed one night with my 3 sons. Breakfast was bag and go and included muffins, an apple and water. I would stay here again on a future trip.
On a road trip from California to Cleveland, Ohio. I stopped at. I got here at about 1 a.m. The location was safe the rooms were good. And the owners gave amazing customer service even when I had booked the wrong day online. I worked at a hotel before and I was impressed, so I recommend it.
