The desk clerk during check-in recommended a few restaurants to choose. Breakfast was good. It was easy to get to the venue for the wedding we attended. Everyone attending the wedding were on the same floor. I really enjoyed our stay.

Looks: Clearly taken over from another group, but newly painted, nicely landscaped and very clean. I wasn't crazy about the sign saying to use the intercom if needing to access the lobby after 11, but it is tucked away (view was an industrial lot and a gas station primarily). There was an odd smell in the lobby and the halls, but it wan't dirt or mold, probably industrial disinfectant. My biggest gripe was that there was no elevator. It is only 2 stories, but bags, boxes and kids can be heavy. The room: Clean, comfortable, reasonable price, no smoking. Attractive if not stylish.They actually left enough towels and shampoos for two adults, something often missing in fancier places. Very quiet and the blackout curtains made it possible to sleep well, even right on Rte 70. Breakfast: Nothing special, but fresh and everything that was supposed to be hot was. Scrambled eggs, sausages (might have been turkey, tasted good), make 'em yourself waffles, good, chewy bagels, not Lower East Side, but very edible. Juice, fruit, I think just about every dietary and religious need could be met if you're flexible and not expecting gourmet. Staff: Got the reservation right, shouldn't be a big deal, but it can be ! Staff actually looked glad to see people. Let us know that since we were prepaid, we could just leave the keys in the room and go in the morning. Remember the lacking elevator? Staff offered to help us carry things upstairs. Don't have time to stay around for a leisurely breakfast? They'll make you a carryout bag, This place is a really nice surprise!

We needed a place to stay in East-Central New Jersey. We like Best Western, so we decided to give this place a try. The location is VERY convenient to major highways. It is also convenient to numerous restaurants, shopping centers and beaches. Given all of these positives, we were willing to pay a little more and felt we got our moneys worth. The breakfast was fine and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely consider this Best Western when we return to this area.

My Aunt and I enjoyed our stay at the Best Western. The room was good with all the needed amenities. The bed comfortable. We loved the free breakfast; eggs, sausage, fruit, bagels, muffins and belgium waffles with all the fixings. The staff was friendly and helpful too. We ;were looking forward to trying out the pool;unfortunately it rained.... maybe next time.

Staff at this hotel is very accommodating and kind. Hotel was clean, smelled good, and had all amenities. Rooms and furniture were older but in good working order and comfortable. Hotel was quiet at night which allowed me to sleep well. Hotel was in close proximity to major stores, restaurants, and attractions. Will recommend to family and friends. Would stay here again.

I needed a hotel kind of last minute, so I settled on Best Western because I knew I could trust the brand. It is a little pricey for what you get, but it is also peak beach season, so I'm assuming the prices everywhere reflect that. While a little bit out of the way of what I originally hoped for on my itinerary, this ended up being a good pick. It is easy to find and right off the main road. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean, which is always my #1 priority. Breakfast was good, better than expected. It is your typical continental spread at these types of hotels. The only annoying thing with the AC was that the curtains were too long so they covered the air vent, but if you open the curtains for the air, the light would wake you in the morning. I managed to get one of the curtains to stay tucked so the air was only partially blocked. You can adjust the temperature however you want though, so I kept it colder and it ended up being ok.

This place was perfect for attending a Blue Claws game and only a short distance to the beach (even though you get charged $9 to step foot on the beach)! I was impressed with how clean it was both in common areas and in the room. The staff was friendly and I was happy with the breakfast and the attendant did a great job making sure things stayed clean and food was stocked.

I stayed here for one night, and we were happy with the room and the location. The hotel is close to many restaurants and shopping areas. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. They had a great selection of food and beverages, and the breakfast area was clean and had lots of seating. Staff was also friendly and helpful.

The hotel is clean, the breakfast is delicious and the staff was friendly however the issues we experienced were aggravating as to they certainly are easy to fix. The window was not sealed therefore anyone in the pool sounded like they were in our room, on the second floor. Our air conditioner would stop running at night and our room never got very cool. The bathtub drain backed up and held water. The absolute worst part of our stay was hearing then having housekeeping knock on our door at 8am asking if we are checking out!! The lack of a elevator was very aggravating. These are easy fixes so hopefully they address it.

In town for a baseball tourney with my son. The DJ is sooo loud the room/bed are vibrating. I've NEVER contacted a front desk to complain until today. The response was that there is a party with a DJ. Unbelievable. Definitely do NOT recommend.

Facility was clean, bed comfortable, staff efficient, breakfast good. This is a good place for an overnight stay but beyond one night it would be a little trying. The room was very cramped and we kept bumping into each other.

Very clean , friendly staff , best bang for the buck in the Lakewood area. Only thing I would change would be the breakfast hours , 9:00 am is way too early to stop serving breakfast. Other then that excellent stay.

We were only staying one night at this location so I picked the most economical room. I didn't expect much and I was very pleasantly surprised by the perks. The room was clean and comfortable. The air conditioned room had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The breakfast room had fresh fruit, coffee and juices available all day and evening. Since we are Best Western Rewards members we received a welcome package of bottled waters and snack bars. All of this for under $100 plus tax.

"Great for a quick stay"

The hotel is easy to get to and although it is near the highway it was very quiet in our room. We were upstairs which we didn't mind because we didn't have much luggage. The room was clean and comfortable. Loved the soap and shampoo, they were great, too. The room had an even temperature, and the bed was super comfy. We slept well. My husband gave the ultimate compliment, he loves long hot showers and he said that this may have been the hottest hotel shower he ever took!

We stay here regularly and for the price it is worthy. Could have more options for breakfast as well as a later time on weekends. Very clean. Vending machines were empty for a late night snack so bring your own. Hotel did offer fresh fruit and coffee during eve.

I've stayed here twice when visiting family in the Brick / Toms River area. The location of the hotel is right off the Garden State Parkway on Route 70 on the border of Lakewood and Brick, so it's very convenient and easy to get to. This hotel is consistently less expensive than some of the other options in the area and the accommodations are very nice. It seems that it has recently been renovated so the rooms are modern and very clean. Front desk staff has always been friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are visiting the area! There are other hotels in the area, many of which are not as nice (but more expensive).

The Leisure Inn is an excellent location. You will enjoy the breakfast and the service; however, the buildings are in need of a renovation. Bring your shoes since walking from one end of the motel to breakfast requires traveling up a flight, down a flight, and persistence.

Hotel located convenient to Garden State Parkway. Refurbished 2 yrs ago. Rooms renewed.Bathrooms all new. Free hot breakfast. No elevator. Steps to 2nd floor.Surprisingly quiet in hotel. Not the best but very good for Toms River area. Have stayed several times.

The room was not clean, the remote control hardly worked and the internet was slow. Additionally, when I called the front desk to see if I could have a band aid, they told me there were none available. The staff was pleasant and helpful when they were available, sometimes they were M.I.A.

We came to attend a wedding in that area. The staff was friendly and helpful. A young man came to the desk while we were checking in. He complained of chest pains. The desk clerk acted quickly to get him an ambulance.

Wife and I stayed here on our way to Atlantic City they the hotel now smoke free but a non smoker can tell the room they gave us was not smoke free at one time at check in the person that check us in told us the wrong door and with our luggage we walk have way around bottom floor

The hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Normally that all that matters. However, I couldn't believe the design of our room! Why would the shower/bathtub be outside of the actual bathroom two feet away facing the bed? Did someone think that guests like jumping from the shower straight into the bed? I am still puzzled. It was not a big bathtub honeymoon suite style, we are talking about small usual shower/bathtub with the glass sliding door, and not the handicapped version either. Nothing would explain that strange design.

Took the teen-age nephews to Six Flags Great Adventure, about 30 minutes from this hotel. Rooms (back building) were clean & quiet with no road noise. Complimentary breakfast had plenty for everyone. An excellent choice.

This Best Western is all that one expects when having to travel and has to stay for any length of time be it a day or whatever time necessary. The location was ideal, just off the main highway and yet close enough to the main section of the area (town, attractions etc.)

We stayed here as our class reunion was held within walking distance of The Grand at 1600. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. A well kept hotel with very clean rooms. The toilets are extremely loud when flushing. We had a room with a hot tub. I do not recommend as it is just a regular size tub with water jets built in. Not large enough to accommodate two people unless you're very short. Breakfast was as usual for a BW.

Small but nice property although the lay out seems odd. There's no way to go through all the rooms from the main entrance (Front Desk). So, when you check in, you will have to go outside again and use the side doors to access the rooms, which smells fresh every time you get in. Front Desk staff are quite welcoming. Room is pretty small and beds are not that comfy. Everything is basic here but it's clean, which is the most important part. Nothing special for the breakfast but good enough for a quick grab. Ample of free parking space, which is great! Convenient and easy to locate with shopping complex and restaurants in the surrounding area. Will likely to come back for another Jersey visit.

My apologies for the satisfactory rating. The wedding party who booked should have alerted its guests of the caliber of this hotel. Would not stay again. Smelled of smoke, Toilet seat would not close. A/c in room blew directly onto the bed beside it: no cover/veting appliance to force to blow up. I would recommend for those on a budget

This property is quiet despite being near the interstate. The lobby and room was clean, but the place initially smelled of smoke. After being in the room an hour we concluded the smell must be mildew or wall mold. Not exactly sure of the odor source, but you will smell it when you step into the room. This property is two floors, but has not elevator. The rooms are small. There are washing machines and dryers (that do not dry very well). We checked in late and the staffer at the front desk was clueless on how to use a Best Western travel card to pay for the room. Told me I had to call the BW 800 number to work it out. I told him I did not, and had used the cards upon checkin a number of times. In fact, BW states the cards must be used at checkin. After insisting that he apply it to my account at check-in he reluctantly telephoned a manager and they walked him through the process. Mistakes can happen, but you do wonder how BW employees do not know how to use BW travel cards. The breakfast is standard fare that all these roadside hotels offer. Probably a better nutrition move to just go to a local restaurant that specializes in cooking. All said, would not stay at this property again.

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the years and the experiences just keep getting better. Since our last stay they built a beautiful breakfast room off the Lobby area that was nicer then some of the restaurants in the area. Carlos the General Manager told us the owners are committing to another major remodel which is rather impressive since just 2 years ago all of the rooms were completely remodeled!! Carlos is an excellent attentive manager who interacts with his guests.Of course he is assisted by equally high caliber managers and staff. They have never failed us in any requests made over the years.Again thank you for an excellent holiday stay you will certainly see us again in a few weeks.

Clean, neat, modern rooms that were well-appointed. Complimentary breakfast at the hotel lobby had plenty of choices inc waffles, sausage, and eggs. The outdoor pool was sunny and clean, the grounds were well-manicured and full of late summer color. The hotel itself could have used larger signs, it was not clear from the road that we were at our destination, and our GPS actually led us away from the entry. Once we arrived, though, it was definitely worth the trouble. Only 7 or so miles from Point Pleasant Beach, at half the seasonal price!

From the uncomfortable beds, to the cigarette smelling rooms, to the poor staff. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Not worth the price. The location is decent, but for a couple dollars more I would stay down the road next time.

Although I appreciate how hard the staff worked, they didn't have much to work with. Although the property advertised a major overhaul, the smell of stale smoke prevailed, covered by perfume and cleaning agents. And, to make matters worse, these smelly rooms and beds are smaller then other hotels in the same price range. Be careful, look elsewhere first.

We have never stayed in a Best Western hotel before. I think we will stick with the Hilton brands. It was a very basic hotel even though it cost close to $200. When we went to our room there was BARKING coming from different rooms near us. I just thought this is a pet friendly hotel and figured we had to just put up with it. Here is were I have a problem...Our daughter ended up having a seizure while we were out. We felt it would be better to head home. We went into hotel around 10:30pm and I explain the situation to man working. He said we would still be charged for night even if we didn't stay. I asked to speak to a manager or if he could please call someone. He said he was the only person there. We figured since we couldn't get refund and had paid $200 we'd stay. When I was checking out this morning I noticed a big sign saying No animals allowed....( anyone caught with animal in room would be kicked out and no refund). I thought this was kind of strange since we heard the dogs ALOT during the afternoon and again a few times during the night. We even saw a group of people with 3 dogs at the pool. I mentioned at front desk when checking out that I thought hotel DIDN'T allow pets. I was told they were the OWNERS. I thought here we were last night with our daughter who would of been A LOT more comfortable at home and the guy wouldn't even ask them if it was ok to refund us. BUT it was OK for us to listen to their dogs.

My wife and 2 children stayed with me in this hotel for one night. I have no complaints and no compliments either. Staff was helpful and professional but not overly helpful or friendly. The location was convenient off the highway but not scenic. There was nothing to do near the hotel, not even sidewalks to allow you to take a walk or go for a jog. The room and hallways were clean (with a strong smell of disinfectant). There is a small outdoor pool but no fitness center. Breakfast was good, with some fruit, yogurt, make-you-own waffles, cereal, breakfast breads, etc. The room was functional with 2 fairly comfortable double beds, enough room for four people, and a functional bathroom. They gave us 2 bath towels for 4 people but gave me more at the desk when I asked. The towels were among the roughest I have experienced at a hotel but were clean. All-in-all, this hotel gets the job done but not much more, a decent value for the price.

This is a good place to stay that is close to the beach. It is clean, newly remodeled, and was quiet at night.The breakfast was good, and it is close to various shops and restaurants. There is an outside pool that is nice. We plan to return there in the future, and bring other family members.

Staff was accommodating when approached with issues. Rooms could use extermination and floor cleaning (at least in the one we stayed in). Bathroom Facilities were clean and presentable. Pool area was clean and acceptable.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights in a room with a queen size bed. The room was spacious enough to have a cot brought in for a friend who stayed the second night. Beds were NOT comfortable.. Loved the Decor! Front Desk Staff upon check in was wonderful. I called mid evening the next day asking if they had a cot available and the clerk who answered the phone seemed pretty clueless. He had me call back in "10 minutes" so he can check with a girl on another floor. I feel that should have been handled a little more professionally. He seemed he might have been a fresh out of training..seemed a little nervous/clueless.. Getting towels brought to our room the second night was GREAT! Had a pleasant time overall.

I recently attended a wedding the area of this hotel and neglected to book a room at the wedding facility which included a local motel. The local place did not impress me at al,l as I checked out the accommodations that they provided for other family members and found the Best Western well worth the additional $13.00 that I was paying. (Had I booked earlier, I would have stayed at Best Western for only $3.00 more than the people at the yacht club were paying.)

We booked a last minute July 4th vacation. Most of the hotels right by the water were booked, or ridiculously expensive, so we decided to try this best western. We were not disappointed. The hotel is easy to get to and very well maintained. The room was clean and comfortable. There was plenty of parking available. The breakfast was absolutely a great benefit. They had scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, etc. Really wonderful. We even tried the outdoor pool on the night of our arrival. Nice to relax in after a long drive. I would definitely recommend if you don't mind a little bit of a drive to the beaches.

During my stay at the Best Western in NJ , I encountered a few problems. 1) unwillingly would not put 2 names on receipt after being asked the next day via phone. 2) The key card kept having to be exchanged for some reason because was never working. 3) The water pressure was awful in room. 4) No safe in room to keep important documents.

Their was a spiders one in my bed and one on the wall. It really gave me sleeping issues. I saw another spider on the wall a little while later and killed it. So although I didn't get a spider bite one was a brown recluse and they leave a nasty bite

The Best Western Leisure Inn offered family friendly amenities including Cable TV, hot breakfast, free internet, laundry mat, and pool. I slept well on the mattress and the in-room climate control was excellent. I will definitely return with my family next year!

My stay at the Best Western Hotels in New Jersey was pretty comfortable. I was there four five days. The room was kept very clean during that whole time period. The heater and the air system worked very well. All supplies were replenished daily. The breakfast was very good, I enjoyed the food. And everything was fresh. Overall I would recommend Best Western Hotels favorably.

I commuted each night to my event and was in need of a room. Best western was economical, clean and convenient. The rooms were a bit small in space but overall, was just right for me. The microwave and refrigerator were very helpful to have. The beds were comfortable and I hated to get off of them. The room decors were pleasant. I would come again. Loved the pool too! Breakfast was good staff too.

Non-smoking room smelled of stale cigarette smoke (and check-in required signature acknowledging Non-Smoking Policy, with penalties for smoking). Screaming from next room at about 5 am, after which local police arrived to arrest one of the occupants for a domestic violence incident. Not really a pleasant experience.

Clean rooms, courteous and professional staff. The hotel grounds were well taken care of. The staff was very professional and dealt with check-in and check-out very quickly and accurately. The breakfast was very adequate and was presented nicely. This hotel is a little out of the way of the touristy Seaside Heights, shore areas, etc. That is why we liked it so much. It was cheaper than staying at the beach but was only a 15-minute drive to our dinner boat cruise in Tom's River.

Was told the summer rates were in effect because it was June. The place is on a route with nothing nearby. Thought the room was a little too pricy for the area. Was told it's beach season but the nearest beach was at least 15 minutes away. What a poor excuse to raise the rates!

The staff were professional and courteous and very helpful. The room was modern and clean. Looked very new. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very new and nice. I drove over to the shore and had a marvelous time on the beach and came back to enjoy great sleep in a comfortable room and a great breakfast the next day. Check - In and Check - Out was fast and convenient.

We stayed at the Best Western Leisure Inn during the last week of May 2017. It was the first weekend it introduced hot breakfast items (scrambled eggs and bacon) in addition to its weekday continental breakfast. They're still working out initial kinks in such a launch (it was a little slow, and they couldn't keep up with the demand), but they made a good effort. Staff was polite, professional, and very helpful. Franklin, the day front desk manager; Dominick, the night auditor; and two other employees whose names we did not get went out of their way to be accommodating. Room was as expected. Photos accompany. We were satisfied with the stay.

The yogurt was expired. The front desk attendant tended to the desk and the food. The hotel had a terrible smell. Not worth the money or convenience. The front desk associate tried to be friendly but it didn't accommodate for the smell, the food quality or general quality of the stay. The price was too high for this.

When on business the hotel should better policy when checking with out for the employees checking in. Especially if it's a late check-out and the person is a diamond member. Breakfast is good but no eggs and meat

The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and the complimentary breakfast was more that we expected. We would stay here again when we travel to NJ to visit our family that just relocated there. The only negative is the full size beds, since there were 4 of us sharing a room we found that the mattress had a slight indentation in the middle from one person using it to sleep and it made it a little uncomfortable. But it wasn't too bad

First time staying in a Best Western and I was surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of the room. Staff helpful and courteous. Price is reasonable and breakfast was good. I would recommend Best Western and would stay there again.

Rooms completely renovated. Very nice. Seems a bit "sketchy" when you first drive in as it's next to a gas station as well as a gravel open lot (parking) with old cars. However, the hotel drive leads to the Best Western parking lot which is nice. Close to the highway so extremely convenient. All amenities (Starbucks, Target, Costco, restaurants) are on that Route 70 strip.

Have used this place numerous times as it is real close to relatives. Never a problem. Always clean. The location is right next to the Garden State Parkway. About 5 miles from BlueClaw Stadium. Far enough from the road that traffic noise is not A concern.

This was my first time staying at a Best Western hotel and it was great to say the least! Staff was very courteous and friendly. I did not experience any negative type of problem that would have me reconsider leaving. I did love the fact that the ENTIRE hotel was a smoke free environment, definitely a plus in my book! I was also glad to see the hotel provided washer and dryers for the guests convenience. The free continental breakfast had a wonderful variety of food for everyone to enjoy. I would definitely recommend Best Western as a great hotel to have a good getaway trip and also for events as the The Grand next door was attached and was a great venue for the wedding celebration my family had gathered for.

A week with no WiFi for phone or computer excepts 5 minutes at a time after struggling for over 30 min. I complained several times. No exercise room. Breakfast is acceptable. Room was great as well as housekeeping. If you need WiFi, don't stay here!

Stayed for a night really can't complain about anything except that the wifi was total garbage and didn't work. It's 2016 come on, ended up getting overages on my cell phone bill because of this. Bed was good, service was good, everything was clean, etc. Maybe call them and see if their wifi is up before booking?

Horrible experience due to VERY LOUD music coming from an event venue attached to the hotel. Music blared for HOURS and HOURS and hotel staff were unable to get the music to be turned down. They did give a credit on our bill but it did not make up for the poor experience and the lost sleep.

This property is fantastic. The room was clean and the bed was so very comfortable. It's close to many different places to eat and shop. It's right off the main highway. I would stay here again if I am ever in the area, for sure!!

My experience was poor. Let me begin by saying the room was clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. Beyond that the actual reservation cost was approx. $15 different than the online advertised price. Check in took longer than expected given that I was told it was streamlined because I prepaid. I did not notice any streamlining. I brought my iPad and was looking forward to using the wifi to watching a Netflix movie. I could not connect to the wifi (I followed directory directions and called the front desk with no luck). I accepted that I would just watch some TV. However the Dish TV (I believe it was Dish - may have been another provider) did not work properly and the sound went in and out making it difficult to follow a program. At some point in the middle of the night there was a ruckus outside my room with loud vulgar language - it was frightening. Overall is was a disappointing experience.

Stayed here during a family visit. Staying near the Jersey Shore in the summer can be expensive and crowded. This place was clean, staff was friendly, access was convenient. Plenty of parking, free breakfast. Mini fridge in the room, comfortable bed. While not a luxury stay, it fit my needs and I have no complaints. Seems like it would be great for kids.

We spent one night here as a stopover for 6 Flags NJ. Rooms were comfortable and spacious and the lady on reception was super helpful when we had problems ordering a Chinese delivery. She was more than courteous about the 9 of us using the lounge area as if we were at home to enjoy our food, which was very much appreciated. The one thing I would point out is that it was difficult to find, even when we were on top of it. We could only see one flag that said Best Western (apart from a Best Western sign out on the main road that gave you an idea you were close to it but no idea of which turning to take) and other than that, we could see no other mention of this building being a hotel on the outside. We even sat outside it with the satnav telling us we had arrived and it was (wrongly) obvious to us that we hadn't, so drove around some more until my son noticed the flag that said Best Western outside the building we'd just been sitting in front of! Highly recommended!

I have come to associate Best Western with bright, clean, modern properties with great service. This property was completely the opposite. Although I noticed that reviews said it had been recently updated I didn't get that feeling while there. It seemed a very 'tired' property in need of updating. The service at the front desk, particularly when an issue was brought to their attention, could at best be characterized as indifferent and probably more accurate to say it seemed a bother to deal with customers. And finally, the breakfast - normally Best Westerns have a nice variety - you don't expect a full-blown sit down breakfast but this one was far off the mark - mostly bagels, donuts, waffles (and the waffle maker was really a disaster - spills and such all over it - very unappetizing). And worst of all in the breakfast area it didn't seem anyone was tidying up or cleaning up the area as people came and went - decided to give it a pass and stop once on the road. Really depend on wi-fi when on the road and did have a few problems/apparent drops in service - but to be fair, perhaps that is just a perception based on how bad everything else was. There are times when you have a bad experience that you give a place a second chance but not in this case. Never again - there's a Hilton Garden Inn just down the street and that will be my choice next time.

We raise 2 grandchildren,so we need a rest at least 2 times per year. We chose this place because we usually choose a best western for cleanliness,large rooms,breakfast,a pool.When we travel with the kids ,we get a double queen room and a hot bkfst. to save money and time traveling to a morning restaurant.WE asked for a 1st floor King room this trip and we got our request. The staff were all nice and helpful and the room was cleaned very well each am.The breakfast was continental style , but very plentiful.We usually stay where a hot breakfast is offered but we were ok with it. The pool was very clean. We found this place to be quiet and we got good rest. The location was close to beaches and restaurants too.

The hotel worked out perfectly and was reasonably priced for our quick one night stay. It was 20 minutes from seaside heights where we were going to meet friends. The breakfast wasn't anything great but was definitely convenient. It would have been nice if it went to 10 or 11 though and had some fresh fruit with more than 1 waffle maker as well.

Stayed here on a Saturday night in July and paid $199.00. This is an old building that received a recent makeover. Room was clean and furnishings were new. Staff was pleasant and efficient. There is an outdoor pool that looked ok but nothing to get excited about. A continental breakfast is served in the lobby, which is included in room rate. Ask for a room on the first floor or you will have to drag your luggage up a long flight of stairs to get to the second floor because there is no elevator!

The Best Western is just OK compared to many we have stayed at. It does not accept pets which is surprising since most best Western do. We did not have a dog this time so it was not a problem I Googled hotels near to Six Flags Great Adventure and motels in Lakewood NJ showed up. We selected this Best Western however it is not close. It is a good 40 minute drive. The lobby is not connect to any of the rooms and the breakfast was not very good, no cooked eggs and sausage or bacon. I usualyy stay at Best Western and this one was below par.

While we are one of the "closer" hotels to six flags we still let our guests know that its roughly 25 miles from the hotel. As far as the rest of your review again we are terrible sorry for not meeting your expectations of a Best Western. However, we do not offer a full hot breakfast like some other Best Westerns because we do not have a kitchen. We offer a free continental breakfast that we feel is exceptional. We used this place on the spur of the moment....bad mistake, it was run of the mill, bathroom wasn't the cleanest, ridiculous set up, the front desk personnel were so unfriendly, it was like I was bothering them to check in and out...will never go there again, they said breakfast is over there in the morning take it or leave it...what????? awful.....the tv cable connection was in and out finally turned the tv off..for $204 a night I expected more, guess that was too much to expect.

When I arrived at the front desk the manager and front desk employee ignored me for over 5 minutes and onece I was finally helped I was treated as a bother. This is the same treatment reseved when leaving. The room I was givien the was no toilet paper, had to take it off the cleaner carts. I will never stay here or any other best western again

The bed was not particularly clean and not really comfortable. The AC was not on when we came in so he room was hot and humid and the musty odor never left (and actually stuck to our clothes). The staff was friendly and the hotel quiet. The halls are not air conditioned. The drive way was hard to find and we had to try twice before getting in (not the hotels fault - this is standard for this type of street).

I called the desk area several times from my room and nobody picked up the phone. Not much the hotel location of much use. The rooms are too small, Jacuzzi tub too small for 2 people. Not good for staying more than one night.

We stayed at the best Western for my best friends wedding on 5/29/16. We were guaranteed the bridal suite, and were given a regular room to stay in until the bridal suite was ready. It was understandable. However, the bridal suite was not ready in time for our make up and hair to get done so we stayed in the regular room to accommodate this necessity. When the bridal suite was ready, the whole wedding party was in the process of getting our hair and makeup done and could not move at the time Jessica at the front desk so rudely asked of us. We kindly expressed our concerns that we needed to complete our hair and make up and then would move into the bridal suite. The bridal party continued to be harassed ongoing and threatened by Jessica at the front desk. At one point, Jessica was so rude cursed at us and hung up. The bride to be was crying on her wedding day bc of this awful person!!! We could not believe how we were treated. We will NEVER stay at this hotel again, and we are sure to express to everyone the exact same. The situation could have been handled way more appropriately, given the circumstances. Jessica ruined a big part of the wedding process by her attitude, unprofessional ethics and rude behavior toward hotel guests. Never again!!!

We stayed here due to a family occasion and were very impressed with the cleanliness and updated decor. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was adequately varied. This is an older hotel with no elevator, but it exceeded our expectations. We thought it was a very good value for the cost of the room.

"Very clean, great breakfast"

Room was very clean, although furniture and decor were plain and dated. Initially placed in a non-smoking room that reeked of cigarette smoke and staff very courteously changed my room with the assistance of several maintenance men. The continental breakfast was 2nd to none as per the quality of the donuts and bagels. I'd stay again just for the breakfast. The TV was a little small, but that was alright. For some reason, the cost of rooms in this immediate area is rather steep,... I guess it's the law of supply and demand.

This hotel is right off the NJ turnpike and across the street from the Lakewood surgery center which is why we were there. The staff was very pleasant and helpful whenever we had questions. We had to have a handicap room and they provided a rollaway bed at no extra charge. The only downside to the room was it didn't have a toilet paper holder and the toilet is situated too close to the wall for a large person to comfortably use.

"Unexpected disappointment Best Western not to blame"

Having been to this Best Western on several other occasions we didn't expect a wedding to be taking place and it's guests to have the pre-party festivities in the hallway right outside our room. I can't blame the staff or the hotel chain for this problem. Once the staff was notified they did come up and somewhat ended the situation. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.at a little over $100 a night on a Saturday down by the shore it is it a bargain.

"Very Nice Hotel"

The Best Western Leisure Inn was a very nice hotel. Very clean and friendly staff!! The rooms were a little small but if you don't have but 2 or 3 people in your group then it's not that bad. The beds are comfortable and the linens were clean and in nice taste. Breakfast had a nice selection of items, including the popular make your own waffles. There were bagels, danish and other items, coffee and juices. If you were to have a wedding reception there I would HIGHLY recommend them!!! They have impeccable service!!! Their attached reception hall was amazing!!

We normally stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lakewood, but no rooms were available for the night we needed. In the past we avoided the Best Western, based upon a bad experience at a Best Western in Virginia plus Tripadvisor reviews of the Lakewood Best Western. However, recent reviews were more positive so we gave it a try. Typical Best Western hotel, nothing fancy but had a basic room, king bed, and was very affordable at least 30% less than the Hilton. Bed was comfortable and you could easily control the room temperature. Room had a desk chair and one comfortable chair. If business traveler, desk was basic no drawers and no paper or pen. The continental breakfast included in the room price left something to be desired. It included basic cereal, instant oatmeal could add water, hard boiled eggs, bagels but no other bread, muffins (mine seemed to be stale and tasteless) and donuts, cutoff fruit only few pieces were left and fresh fruit that saw better days. But if looking for basic comfort, affordability and quietness, give it a try.

We usually stay at Hampton Inns when we travel, but for this occasion Best Western was closer & less expensive. I was disappointed in several things, mostly the bathroom which had the strangest set up! The vanity counter extended over the upraised toilet seat cover making it impossible to lower. This made a good two feet of counter space virtually useless (or risk things falling into the toilet!). The rest of the counter was taken up by the sink and the hair dryer, which rested in a cradle stand on the edge of the sink. Terrible layout! One of three vanity lights was missing, and only one hand towel was provided (for two people). Another annoyance was the layout, which was like a motel. The only access from the lobby was via outside walkways. Fortunately it wasn't raining! Next time we'll go back to Hampton, despite distance & cost.

Dear Emz13, I would first like to thank you for taking the time to write a review. I was disappointed that we could not meet your expectations with our newly renovated rooms. The design and layout of the guests rooms are something that we felt would be very appealing to our guests and we mostly get positive feedback about the design and layout. As far as accessing the main lobby, there are several ways from your room that will lead you to the lobby. One of those ways does not require you to leave the building at all, there are signs throughout the building that help guide our guests to the lobby by staying inside. I do apologize if you may have missed the signage. As far as there being not enough towels and a light bulb out we truly apologize for that, it is completely unacceptable. I certainly hope that we don't lose your business simply due to the layout of the property. We strive to provide a clean and affordable product, one that we hope fits our guests needs. Hopefully you will give us another chance in the future.

"Update rooms but way too small"

Booked this when the Hilton was not available. There are not many hotels in this area. The staff was very, very nice and tried to make things OK, however it is a very old motel type building that was recently updated. The furnishings were newly done, updated, and nice, but the room was SO small that is was actually hard to get around the beds etc. The rooms are not connected to the lobby, you have to go outside and walk thru the parking lot to get to the breakfast area. The breakfast itself was sparse- hard boilded eggs, a donut rack that was almost empty, a fruit bowl also just about empty, and some yogurt -and a waffle maker. The saving grace was that they had plenty of NJ hard rolls- and bagels.

Very nice reception from check in person. Would prefer having eggs for breakfast, however I was satisfied with the volume of food available. Bath towels are much smaller than I wanted them to be. Still appreciate the value.

"Great Place to Stay"

The room was recently renovated(and nicely done), very clean, and had everything we needed - including a fridge and microwave. It is very easy to get off and on the Garden State Parkway. There are a decent number of restaurants just a short drive away.

"very clean"

no complaints here BUT pet peeves.. the room i stayed in had a short door, about an inch from the ground.. and someone kept opening the outside doors and the draft would come right in.. typical room had a microwave, refrig, flatscreen, iron, hairdryer, and coffemaker. beds were okay.. not a temperpedic but still comfortable... would definitely return..this place also has a laundry room

"Clean"

We stayed here for the night because we were attending a wedding here. The rooms were very clean, the only problem was that the sink was leaking and the smoke detector was going off almost all night. We reported it to the front desk prior to the wedding and when we got back to room that night it wasn't fixed. When I told the front desk in the morning they didn't seem to care especially because they never asked which room. Otherwise the room was clean and I would probably recommend it to anyone.

Everything is always good. Front desk very friendly. Breakfast choices good. We stay here every year and have never had any problems. Internet services is also good. I would highly recommended this hotel for any one coming to the area.

Judging from an earlier review 2 years ago, this hotel has greatly improved. It appears to have been totally updated - including refurbished rooms, hallways, etc. Very nicely done. Rooms were nicely furnished with very comfortable bedding, flat screen TV's, microwave, refrigerator and updated lighting and bathrooms. Located just off the GSP you must be alert to enter the right driveway to get to the hotel. We found the staff very accommodating and friendly, the Wi-Fi to be excellent in the lobby area but spotty in the room (we were at the back of the hotel, which probably accounts for it) and the continental breakfast to be a bit lacking. Juice, coffee, tea, cold and hot cereals, and breads/pastries were offered. Yogurt or a piece of fruit would be a nice addition. In all, the hotel is attractive, comfortable and a good value.

In order to get from the lobby and registration you had to go outside and then back in another keyed door - very unusual. The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was OK. The staff was efficient but cold.

Clean room, comfortable bed, good breakfast. Easy access to guest laundry. Convenient location, right off the Parkway, close to restaurants and shopping. Very enjoyable stay. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had a funeral in the area and this hotel was close to the church & funeral home. Hotel was clean, front desk was very friendly and they offered breakfast which was very convenient when you are on the run

this review is more about the customer service then anything else. I was looking for a hotel for my out of town guest for my wedding. I had two choices. Best western and another "chain" nearby. When I walked into the best western Carlos was more than happy to show me a room . The other hotel would not. The room was clean and the entire hotel was remodeled. On the days leading up to my wedding i would call carlos(alot) to find out how many reservations were being made so I could have an idea about how many gift bags I would need. Carlos was cheerful and helpful everytime. a small amount of guest did book at the other hotel and everytime I would call to check on the reservations they would transfer me to a voicemail and no one would ever call me back. I would recommend this hotel based on customer service alone. Thank You Carlos!!!!!

We've stayed here several times and will come back again. Convenient to family we visit and the Parkway..Atlantic City is less than an hour away and the shore is close by also. The local towns are fun to visit also.

"Value Hotel"

Needed a place for my wife and I to crash for the night while travelling. The Best Western Leisure Inn met our needs. Having a microwave and refrigerator in the room was great. Room was clean and bed comfy. Free breakfast was continental, if you can't eat baked goods, your choices are limited.

"Not a typical Best Western experience."

While the hotel was okay, the people operating it need a lesson in how to treat their customers. We were told that paying cash needed an additional $150.00 deposit to cover damages. They already had credit card information on file holding the reservation. There were 4 lights in the room but only 2 had light bulbs because "people steal them!" There was a hole in the wall in the room and the room was in need of cleaning.

"Newly Rennovated, Clean and Extremely Comfortable Beds"

Had a wonderful stay at this newly renovated hotel. Very conveniently located next to Parkway (but not so close as to hear the traffic). Was pleasantly surprised at how nice and clean the room was. Slept in a King sized bed which was extremely comfortable! Fridge (nice and cold), microwave and flat screen TV were an added bonus. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this hotel.

"Decent Stay"

I would agree with previous reviews regarding the outside condition of the building; it does look a little worn, however the rooms are completely renovated. The bathroom is a nice size. There is a closet immediately to the right of the door and additional open area for luggage etc. near the dresser. There is a frig and micro in every room. The bedding and towels are a good quality. The mattresses are inte-rspring, but lean toward the hard side, not soft. There is no elevator in this two story property. The majority of the rooms have interior entrances. DirecTV is provided with a small selection of channels. There are several posts regarding the absence of hot water. We did not experience a loss of hot water, however our shower was plumbed incorrectly and hot water was cold, and cold water was high according based on the flacet. I would stay here again if in the area. It is a decent place to stay for a night.
