SureStay Plus by Best Western Elizabeth City

There for a funeral of a dear friend. Room was decorated nicely and was a delight to see the pictures of flowers and life in the trying time. Would recommend to others. Who are looking for a comfortable place to stay

It was falsely advertised of renovations in Nov 2022, and our room 101 was missed. This was my birthday weekend and I was disappointed in the hotel itself. The free breakfast offered was not tended to, as expected and we ended up at McDonalds nearby

It was kind of cruddy. Roaches in the room. Noisy bathroom fan that didn't have a separate switch. Outlets to charge devices didn't work. It was ridiculously expensive for the poor condition it was in. The front desk staff was fine!

Everything was wonderful the service and the people was really nice. When I thought I put my reservation for 2 night and was going to leave early the nice lady called and told me that I had an extra night. Of course we was thrilled to have an extra day of fun.

Staff was argumentative and discourteous especially the lady working night audit. I made my reservation through a third party website day of and paid upon making it-per usual -every website direct or third party makes it very clear that's it's non refundable. After arriving to check in the lady working audit told me I owed payment, more than which I reserved online. I told her that I already paid and provided a bank statement and a receipt I received via email. She then told me “that's not the point.” What does that even mean?? I told her I'm not paying the same thing or more twice. Then proceeded to tell me to pay with a different card and she'd cancel the 1st one. How when policy states it's all nonrefundable and you told me you can't see my payment….Very strange! I'm sure I'm not the only person that uses third party websites for reservations. But I'm very thankful for the lady that was walking out for her shift and took the lead and got me in. I'm only in town for a nursing rotation. Is this really what Elizabeth City's hotel hospitality looks like. Wow! I see dying patients with more respect.

The only place good about this place was the staff. They were very helpful and worked through what could have been a major problem. We found out this hotel overbooked many rooms for the weekend we were there for a family reunion. We had folks coming in from all over the country. The lady at the front desk explained the situation, and was able to get us into the rooms we reserved in a timely manner working through the issue. Some other guest were not so lucky to find they did not have a room and they were very unhappy. Once we were in the room, the bathroom doors were off the hinges and would not close in multiple rooms and a few of our rooms were not the cleanest. The was a ant trap under the table which was noticeable. OK, I am not a picky reviewer and I understand that this may be an older property, but things like just fixing the doors on the hinge and a visible ant trap can be fixed... :/

The staff was very helpful. They made sure I had everything I needed and more. Quan also helped me so much. I really appreciate the hospitality that the staff provided. I'll definitely be coming back again .
