Good value hotel in the western suburbs. The area has plenty of shopping and dining. It is near two major interstates i355 and i88. It is still a distance from Chicago. But much more reasonably priced than Chicago. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, the breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast.
Bed was good along with pillows. A little more fluff then use to, like marshmallow. Overall room was good if toilet was put together before check-in and the microwave plate went with the unit. Staff wasn't real accommodating or pleasant. Never felt please to be there with greetings or smiles. Manager did show more excellent engagement when there, but was out until last day of three night stay. Not sure if there was a supervisor available to fill in. Will see if this is a trend next stay.
Front desk staff, Patricia and Danielle are the best. They help us whenever we need them. The manager Gabe works with us scheduling our rooms for the year. Tbe rooms are comfortable. It is quiet, an get rest. Safe location. We are warmly welcomed on every arrival.
Nice quiet little clean hotel. Friendly staff. Area is busy but quiet and maneuverable. Free parking. Safe area. Across from great food, shopping. Area is quiet for sleeping! This is a pet friendly hotel, but they accomodate persona with allergies well. Would recommend staying. Very budget friendly hotel.
I have stayed in this hotel a number of times over the years it was previously known as the Comfort Inn. The Rooms are clean and tidy with comfortable beds and has all the amenities a traveler needs. It could expand its guest laundry facilities as it can be a long wait to do your laundry as there is only one machine. The rooms are serviced daily, irrespective of length of stay. It has a full breakfast menu which is varied daily and there is 24-hour coffee available. The staff were helpful in giving me a room near the front of the hotel meaning less walking. It has a pool which was well maintained. Well worth the Price paid. Plenty food outlets, bars and shopping in the near vicinity.
We stayed at this hotel from June 23 to 24 in room 325. The room is located away from the street side. As a Best Western Platimum member we received no attention. The welcome was anything but friendly. We were directively instructed to pay a $100 deposit by credit card. One side of the luggage cart was broken off. When checking out we were asked about our experiences. Danielle apologized for the experience we had at check-in.
We here from Hawaii share the spirit of Aloha which is a way of welcoming our tourists and visitors from outside of Hawaii. Best western showed this as well
Great place a few miles from Wheaton College. Fantastic value. Clean rooms. Good breakfast. Staff was very professional. Check in was very smooth. Room was comfortable. Location great! Will stay here again for sure!
Clean, excellent staff, great location and treat guests well. Breakfast is better than most competitors in this price range. Have stayed multiple times and it is our go to for visits to the Chicago area,
Avoid the mobility rooms—108 and 110!!! They were unavailable during Fall of 2023 for months due to water leaks from rooms above them. I found that out after reserving mobility rooms multiple times online and then being switched to regular rooms upon registration. Now that they are available again, Room 110 has a very strong odor of mold and areas of black mold are visible in the bathroom (see photos). Room 108 has a faulty heater/ac unit (room is hot and fan doesn't work right) and a broken desk chair that tips dangerously. If I had not had better experiences in other rooms in this same hotel, I would have given a much lower rating. The other rooms and the suite I have stayed in were all mostly satisfactory—clean and no odor of mold. The suite is large and has a full kitchen, which would be great for an extended stay. However, the toilets are so low in the regular rooms (not mobility) that they seem meant for children. Someone with physical limitations will have difficulties. This is a busy hotel, but they only have one luggage cart available for guests. Staff is the best—always very friendly and accommodating. They are good about acknowledging Best Western member status and giving bottled water to members. They put out a decent breakfast, too, which varies according to day of the week. The lobby, breakfast area, and most rooms are very clean. Just avoid the unhealthy mobility rooms, which have smelly mold and caused us to cough all night. If we had arrived earlier, or were staying more than one night, we would have requested to be moved to another room.
My only positive comments are about kitchen and cleaning staff. Patricia at front desk had poor attitude and poor customer service throughout my stay. I had preregistered for my check in requested a quiet room not facing I-355. I was given a room facing the highway and was told they were booked out (which was not true, judged by the number of cars at parking lot at 11 pm). When I returned on my second day and asked for my room to be switched, Patricia stopped the younger employee from even looking into my request and told me and the employee that rooms cannot be switched within a stay. She had the same non-caring attitude addressing any issue I had. Furthermore, my key card was not working on the second day and I had to come down to had it reissued. If my early check in request the day before my arrival had been looked into, I would not have 2 nights of poor quality sleep.
This hotel is small but mighty. The front desk staff was always friendly and answered my questions. My room was neat and clean. I enjoyed the breakfast selections. Everyone was helpful, kind, and polite. I will definitely return!
We chose this hotel because of the proximity to the highway and low cost. The pros are definitely the location and close proximity to shopping and restaurants by car. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was decent and changed daily. The cons include a strong cleaning chemical smell in the room and at the front desk area. The smell of the cleaning chemical in the room was a bit nauseating and almost as if it was trying to hide something in the room. Our room card kept resetting every night when we returned to the hotel after a certain period. We were advised to keep the key card separate from our mobile phones as this would cause it to deactivate, and although we kept it separate, the access to the room kept deactivating every day. The rooms are a bit dated, however, the king size bed was very comfortable and the warm was kept at a very good temperature without having to adjust it ourselves.
Excellent hotel! The front staff are always exceptional and make you feel right at home. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and always top notch. Amenities including breakfast, internet, and fitness center are are all excellent. Highly recommend this hotel!
Both the hotel and the room I checked into were clean. The room smelled really nice when I opened the door. What I'm most satisfied with is the bed. It's just so comfy! It felt even better than the beds at much more expensive hotels.
This hotel was previously known as the Comfort Inn. The amenities are everything a traveler needs. It could expand its guest laundry facilities as it can be a long wait to do your laundry. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds, which are serviced daily, irrespective of length of stay. The staff are exceptionally helpful, the full breakfast menu is varied daily and there is 24-hour coffee available. Well worth the Price paid. Plenty food outlets, bars and shopping in the near vicinity.
Personnel was nice and friendly, wide variety of foods and drinks for breakfast (even for someone with food allergies), numerous amenities, nice hotel in a nice location. Plenty of restaurants and shops in the area. Definitely recommend visiting Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy store!
Due your self a favor and find some other place to stay. Lots of options in the mid-DuPage County area. This hotel is conveniently located to major highways, restaurants and shopping, but that's the only nice thing I have to say about this hotel.
This was a great hotel. It was easy to locate and breakfast was exceptional. I would definitely stay here any other time I visit Chicago. I hope the management can do better with the internet service.
We have had the best staycation at this hotel while we wait on the construction of our new home to be complete. We love the friendliness of our favorite front desk staff members; Patricia, Danielle and the two guys on the night shift and, Gabe, the Manager! They are very helpful and friendly. Patricia always makes us laugh, especially when she talks about her attempt to save a cat that ended up chasing her around the hotel. LOL! My wife gave her the nickname "cat lady". This is a great place, with a great staff. We have truly enjoyed our stay here. And, the cleaning staff does a great job as well!
Had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Downers Grove. Spacious and well-appointed room. Very quiet at night, great for sleeping. Good breakfast, menu changed a bit every day. Staff exhibited excellent customer service. Truly enjoyed during our 6 day stay. Hope to stay there again on our next visit.
The hotel was full of summer travelers. I was afraid it would be so noisy but it by far was one of the quietest places I have stayed in a while. Staff was AWESOME!!!! I will definitely stay here again. Might need a little updating but very nice.
this bw has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff, it is a very tidy place which includes a small workout room and great breakfast bar, great location-right off of 355/22nd street/88, welcomes my dogs and has outdoor surroundings to walk them. we have stayed every night we have been in the area-we are moving and awaiting closing date for new home. although we could choose many other hotels in area, we have been so happy here we will continue to visit when we are back in the neighborhood! the staff is super - very aware and make us feel right at home and very safe here. and, i should mention that this bw is within a few miles of some of the best shopping and boutique shops in the country!
The hotel is very clean and the staff were all very friendly .I was the first of the season to go into the pool ...I WAS THE POOLBOY LOL..The pool was heated and very clean with plenty of chairs and lounges to sit ..
I stayed at this hotel for almost a month and was sad when I had to leave. The front desk service was 5 star, clean, safe, courteous, not a single issue. It puts surrounding Best Westerns to shame. Never was I greeted with anything but a smile every morning. Thank you for the amazing stay I had and I can't wait to visit again. Sorry for misspelled names but Ariselle Danielle and Gabriel are all class. Appreciate you so much for everything!
Nathan was very polite and helpful while we checked in late. First impression is important and he nailed it! We were there for 3 nights with 2 rooms and the front desk name Danielle (I hope I spell correctly) was wonderful! She always smiling and greeting us. In addition, she was helping and giving us suggestion on local attractions. We need additional towers and shampoos, the team immediately supplies those to us. The speed and friendliness are just awesome. The breakfast is great too. With just one person taking care of the breakfast area, she is very efficient and we never short on food. In addition, if the breakfast are is too busy, Gabriel (the manager) will help to smooth the process, what a great team there and everyone seems happy to be working in the hotel. For the money we paid for, this is way exceeding our expectation. Did I mention it is a very clean hotel??!!!
Needing an inexpensive motel for 6 nights we found the Best Western Downers Grove to be an excellent value. It is a 2 star hotel with smaller rooms and outdoor pool which was closed for the season in December. The mattress was newer and comfortable. The staff (including housekeeping) and manager were very friendly, welcoming and attentive, often asking if we needed anything. Our room, the hallways and common areas were clean and bright. We enjoyed many of the Chicago themed prints on the walls of the hallways and room. Hotel had recently been upgraded, Breakfast selection was above average for a low priced hotel. Parking lot was smooth and lighted. Note the hotel can only be reached if you are southbound on Finlay Road, which was only an issue the first time we entered. The cliental we observed were regular travelers (families, business people) no one loitering or unsavory people hanging around.
This hotel shows it's age and needs some attention from a maintenance staff that knows what they're doing. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment but the staff was helpful and friendly. I've seen worse…but I've also seen better. With a little bit of work and good, old-fashioned “elbow grease” this could be a great hotel!
Arrived late from O'Hare flight, was glad to find that this was a wonderful hotel. Room was comfortable, roomy and accommodating in all the ways expected. Very clean and comfortable. Nice lobby area and convenient access to highways. Missed breakfast unfortunately so can't report on that.
Pretty average hotel for a mid-level-quality hotel chain. Convenient location near restaurants and shopping. Okay if you're just looking for a short stay place to sleep. Don't need much, don't get much.
We visited Chicago for a day with our adult daughter and wanted a room that we didn't feel cramped in. We stayed in a Corner King w/ pullout and it was huge. Room was clean, bed was comfy, staff was friendly and our room was quiet. Will stay again if in the area!
Great location, very clean, quiet and the breakfast is very impressive. The staff was great. A great choice in a great location with a great price. Needed a decent place to stay to visit my mom since she moved into assisted living and we sold her house. This will be my go to hotel from now on.
This hotel/motel was clean and well maintained staff was helpful rooms were clean the only thing bad was it was no smoking in rooms breakfast was pretty good the 4 days the pool was good and cold when I git unto it early one morning after it opened
Quick access to major shopping and highways in western suburbs of Chicago. This hotel is tucked away and offers a quiet stay for a traveler at a reasonable price. Nearby dinner options are numerous and varied. The staff was terrific.
Had issues using side entrance with keycard, and breakfast did not have all the normal expected items. Room was sufficient to rest overnight. Did not use tv, ice, microwave or cooler. Hot water was almost instant.
This hotel surprised me. Expected a usual budget chain hotel. This was better. To start is the reception. Met 3 nice ladies. Arasele , Ro, and Patricia. All were friendly and efficient. Patrica was especially helpful with a few calls I made prior to arrival. The room was clean , not outdated as many are, the bed was one of the most comfortable I've had in a bit. I was told that they were fairly new. Pool clean. Only reason for 4 stars is not a fan of the breakfast. But I guess it's your typical stuff. I will stay here again
There were a lot of little problems: noisy bathroom door, window (on the 3rd floor) wouldn't shut/lock, AC unit wouldn't cool the room, shower water pressure was non-existent but the sink water pressure was excessive, key cards didn't work, no lighting by the pool, sub-par breakfast. Overall, it was crappy.
Lovely property and friendly staff! Enjoyed the outdoor pool and was impressed with the very reasonable pet fee. Lots of nearby shopping, restaurants, and cinema (7 Bridges). Room was modern and clean. Nice artwork in room and hallways of Chicago and local buildings and attractions - nice touch!
I have stayed in this hotel a number of times, but it was under a different name it used to be the Comfort Inn. I can't really say that the name change has made any real difference except the price, but it is comfortable and has all the requirements of the needs of a traveler. It has a guest laundry (but you have to be quick as there is only one machine), the room has all the usual amenities, and it's quite spacious and comfortable. the staff a very friendly and helpful. It does have an elevator and boasts a business Centre. it also does a decent breakfast which is a bonus for travelers. There is a large shopping Centre nearby and plenty of restaurants and bars nearby in walking distance,
My family and I stayed here over the weekend for a quick trip to Chicago. Our whole experience was amazing! I would definitely stay here again. It was an amazing location from all that we wanted to see and the room was clean and comfortable. I was beyond impressed with the hotel for the price we paid.
We don't usually stay at Best Western and we're pleasantly surprised! Patricia at the front desk greeted us warmly and was happy and good at her job! The hotel was clean, our bed was comfy, and it was surprisingly quiet for being so close to the highway. The outdoor pool looked nice and refreshing, and there were many restaurants and shops nearby. The only downfall was that the showerhead was super low in our room which would make it hard for a man to shower, and the parking lot is packed (restaurant next door seems to share lot). Overall great stay though! Breakfast was pretty much continental with a couple warm sandwich options. We would stay again if driving through!
I had a family emergency so I was going to miss the first day of my stay, so I called the hotel. The person on the phone allowed me to prepay and said I'd be checked in so I wouldn't lose my room. When I arrived the next day I was told that I was marked as a no-show and the hotel was sold out. Meaning I wouldn't be guaranteed my ADA, king bed room. After a few minutes I was given keys to a room that stank of water damage and had a soaking wet floor. I was relocated to another non-ADA, two double bed room after booking a king bed, ADA room. On the 3rd day of my booking, the toilet had plumbing issues that were eventually addressed but the housekeeping staff never entered my room despite me asking the front desk when I reported the plumbing issue and also left the door card requesting housekeeping. I had to leave a day early, I was so dissatisfied. I had my travel advisor email the hotel asking for some remediation and have received no response.
5/5 What a hidden gem! I booked a two night stay at the last minute after a horrific experience at a different nearby accommodation. The front desk GM was the friendliest, even asking about my hometown and reason for travel. I was given all details on any Covid accommodations as well as the need to request cleaning if it was desired. Breakfast area was immaculate and well stocked, coffee was out even earlier (4AM!), and hallways were spotless. Felt very safe with the level of security and staff. Hope the pool is open soon! Will be back for sure!
I liked this Best Western. It's a good middle range hotel. Not premium but not a budget place either. The room was nice and clean. It was very comfortable with the climate control as it was hot on this Chicago trip. The staff were very pleasant and there is ample parking and amenities near by. It didn't have breakfast so don't know about that but everything else was good.
Service is very good and cleanliness is also good. I would definitely recommend stay in best western. Breakfast was not excellent but it was good. I slept peacefully and the motel was at good location. Front dest staff also very good
We stayed here for 3 nights and couldn't have been happier. The hotel was clean, the staff was helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was great! The value you get for your money here is fantastic. It was also quiet and in a great location (close to the highway with lots of restaurants & shopping nearby). We will definitely be back and recommending this place to others.
While staying there the wifi service went out. When I asked at the front desk I was given a phone number to call to report this issue. I do not thing that it is the responsibility of a guest to report to an outside provider that something is not working, the staff should have taken care of this. I won't recommend this location due to this.
Awesome location, great service especially front desk team. Clean environment you can smell the cleanliness. Ms. Patricia is always awesome and prepared. I can't wait until the pool opens up so i can visit with my daughter.
Reservation was for 5 nights - stayed one night and moved to Holiday Inn Express across the street. Sign in lobby indicates they are becoming a Best Western. People were friendly, but the reason we left was the included breakfast I was paying for. At check in I was told there is no hot breakfast but I could stop at the front desk and they could give me a granola bar. Nope.
I recently chose this hotel to stay at with my son for a few days. We smelled a persistent smoke smell near the front desk and more than once someone was smoking pot in a room on our floor and the smell wafted up and down the hallway. Twice we heard people yelling or arguing out in the hall. Rough crowd... spend more money and go somewhere else. No breakfast, no pool... none of the amenities that we looked forward to were offered.
My uncle and I always stay here when we're in town. The rooms are nice, and the beds are comfy. Most hotels are loud, you can always here someone slamming the door. I've never experienced that here. They're currently under construction to convert to a Best Western, but the construction didn't bother us. The pool was closed and they only offered granola bars and juice to go for breakfast. Parking is rough, due to the restaurant in the same parking lot (valet uses the good parking spaces at the hotel). Good options on the tv, plenty of channels. The comforter had some type of stain on it (it looked like dried blood). No other complaints though.
The room and lobby were semi-recently updated. However, there were stains on the bedding, the toilet did not look secured or caulked to the ground, and the overall state of the hotel itself was not the greatest. I planned on dropping my stuff of and then going out for dinner, but after getting into the hotel I decided if I ended up leaving for dinner, I wasn't sure I'd return for the night.
We spent one night here prior to flying out of Midway Airport. Everything was great. The room was clean and comfortable. Check-in and out was quick and easy. They let us have a hour late checkout because of our flight, no hassle at all. We were pleased to have breakfast, so many places are just doing away with it. It was just muffins, cereal, and juice but it felt good that they made the effort. The hotel is located next to a freeway and a busy road so there was some road noise but it wasn't bad. We'd gladly stay here again.
