Wonderful staff and a great location! The Internet is decent, they have breakfast every morning and it is pretty good. The rooms are always clean. This location is near everything you could need in Brownwood. Walmart is across the road so is Aldi's, buffalo wild wings, and a historical restaurant is right next door!
1. Reservations were not accurate...then we got charge a higher rate for one night when we requested 2 nights. 2. Room had an odor of strong cat urine when you entered the room that was reported multiple times and was not resolved. 3. Kitchen sink was plugged with water and coffee waste that was reported mutiple time and was also not resolved.
We had a good experience here. The room was large, well-appointed and clean, and everything worked. The towels were a little rough, but that was a minor problem. There was plenty of parking space. The only subpar thing was the breakfast. They ran out of milk and the egg choice was not too good.
We were very happy with our stay here. Right next door to Underwood's so you can't go wrong! The room was very clean and a great size. The bed was really comfortable and the shower had good water pressure. Breakfast had a wide variety to choose from and we loved the coffee machine. We would definitely stay here again.
The decor is nice. The beds are comfortable and the hotel is clean. I won't go into all the details but we had a couple of minor issues when we checked in and Dominic handled all of them while waiting on the counter, answering the phone, resetting a smoke detector, working at breakfast the next morning and still doing all the things that had to be done. He needs to make more money. Anyway, I would definitely stay there again.
Nice Best Western. The room was comfortable, and the beds were good to sleep on. The personnel were helpful and friendly. The had a coffee machine that you could get plain coffee or a number of other types of coffee, such as cappuccinos. Each morning, they have a one or two selections that change each day as well as most of the things you would expect on a hotel breakfast. It was all good. A very good place to stay.
We stayed overnight for a wedding in the area. Dominic was helpful with checking in early, even called to find out what time we would be there to check in. Place was clean, comfortable and breakfast had many options, was stocked and clean.
This hotel has excellent customer service, great amenities and worth the stay. Enjoy breakfast or the menu switches up daily, clean, comfortable, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and an outdoor pool with a nice area for outdoor sun enjoyment.
The staff are very friendly. They made feel at home! If your in the Brownwood are I suggest you stay here!
This is a new hotel in Brownwood, Texas and it is a nice property. Someone prior to my stay violated the rules regarding the pet policy and had a cat which sprayed in the room causing a terrible odor. When I returned to the front desk they were very nice and explained they had the no pet policy and was unaware of the situation but immediately moved me to another room and stated they would report the issue.
Stayed here as an overnight stop between OKC & San Antonio on our solar eclipse road trip. It's a nice property in a good location near to restaurants & shops. We had booked 3 rooms for our group of 5A as it was great value. Rooms were large, with kitchenette area including microwave & coffee maker. Bed was comfortable, & even though our room was on the front we weren't disturbed by traffic noise. Hotel offers a fair selection (cereals, waffles, etc) at breakfast. It's also free parking on site. Staff very friendly & helpful at check in. Would recommend staying if you are in the area.
The Best Western PLUS is fantastic! The luxory vibe of the hotel is really cool and I really enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly and helpful from the time I checked in and my room was clean and comfortable and included quality soaps and shampoo. I would definitely stay here again! Super clean and comfortable!
I've always had great experiences at this hotel. The rooms are always clean and the staff is very pleasant. I don't believe I've ever had a negative experience at this hotel. I always try to stay here when I'm visiting the area.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The breakfast was nasty and had mold on some of it. Yuck they gave us 2 towels for a room with 4 in it. We asked for more they said they were out! How does a hotel run out of towels? And no we couldn't share the towel because we had to clean up after the shower sprayed water everywhere! It was not fully booked! It was very noisy! Never again..
Walked in for a 2 night stay, got a better rate than the internet posted. From the front desk, housekeeping & breakfast, everyone was quite friendly & very helpful. Room was clean, comfortable, close to everything we wanted to do & see during our visit. Will definitely stay again.
Loud adult noises coming from room next to mine and was not moved to a different room. The room itself was very nice very spacious and clean the breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly and informative.
But the renovations have not all taken. The price seemed high for the stay but it was lower than most. I guess Brownwood is a destination? Who would have guessed? The room was spacious with cooking facilities included. The breakfast was better than bagels.
Mouse decided to visit us. Front office offered to move me and provided a trap. I did not want to move due to all the things I had and it was 1000pm at night. Food was OK, I have had better. Hotel is off major road. I picked a room away from road, it was a little noisy but that was from all the big trucks parking in the rear parking lot. Nice Fire pit out by pool.
Very friendly staff, clean spacious rooms and nice breakfast with lots of items. Centrally located near restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed our stay while visiting family in Brownwood. Also upon entering the hotel we appreciated the Ten Commandments.
Clean, quite and comfortable. Dominic Ward & Shy Scott went above and beyond their task. I had left cash in an envelope in our room when we checked out. Shy turned it in and Dominic called, texted, and even mailed it to me. Their integrity is so amazing. Thank you.
It's our fault! “I should put the deadbolt on even when going to the Vending Machines” Also people above were DUMB LOUD, Front desk doesn't care^ I called twice and the kid obv was too scared. They needed someone to work so I guess she had her daughter. I just dealt with it myself.
Card was ran for almost double the amount that was due because they did not have the right room rate applied as they had said prior. Front desk clerk, very young, not knowledgeable in the computer. The room reeked of mold smell, and the cleaning staff never attended the room during our stay. We had to go and locate our own fresh towels and toilet paper. The hotel was very loud in the night and someone trying to open our door multiple times throughout the second night.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, and everything was in working order. The hot breakfast was good and available until 10:00 AM. I would recommend staying here if you have business or pleasure in Brownwood.
I have never stayed at a Best Western. After reading the reviews online, I decided to book my stay for 2 nights, as our go to hotel brand had less than appealing reviews for the location in Brownwood. I was welcomed by name when I checked in. The hotel was very clean and the room was much nicer than I expected. Each employee that I encountered acknowledged me and asked if there was anything they could do or help. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone in the Brownwood area.
Beautiful property, clean rooms and excellent customer service. What I look for in a hotel is cleanlyness and good customer service. And you had all of that. Great location too. All of the restaurant's and eateries almost within walking distance. Thank You.
Had my parents stay in a larger suite, it was so roomy and gave them so much space to move around in (especially with one on a walker). The grandchild came to visit them and swim in the pool and had so much fun. I can't say enough about the staff. They were so helpful and kind to my entire family. Breakfast was so good too, with TX shaped waffles to biscuits and gravy and a Nescafé coffee machine. Family will definitely stay here again
Had to stay in town for my grandmother's funeral and we chose to stay here because we didn't want a hole in the wall place. The accommodations were very nice, the concierge was very respectful and professional. I'll gladly stay here or another best western as long as everything is a good as it was here.
We were so happy with our one night stay at the BW Plus in Brownwood. The place is so clean and bright, seems relatively new. Large rooms with good lighting, microwave, small fridge, coffeemaker and great complimentary breakfast. We stayed there on our visit to Quail Ridge Beagle Farm, which is about 30 minutes north and we highly recommend staying here rather than in Comanche. Bigger city, more restaurants, and this hotel is really very good. Highly recommend.
This location puts the "plus" in Best Western Plus! Located on Commerce Street, one of the main streets in Brownwood, was easy to navigate from. Building and room was very clean and the room was extremely comfortable. All the staff from check-in to cleaning were charming and sweet. Would highly recommend!
This was a great place to spend the night in Brownwood! The hotel was clean, staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was large enough to gather together without having to go to common areas. It isn't fancy, but it's clean and comfortable.
The room had a very comfortable king bed, a good and quiet A/C unit, a living area with couch and kitchenette including an extra sink and large counter space. The room was very clean. The front desk person was very helpful finding me a third floor room in the back. Unfortunately, I could hear the TV from the next room but I think that was because it was turned up loud.
Staff was friendly and helpful in addressing any issues I had. They had a good assortment of items to choice from for breakfast. Location is convenient to restuarants and the business I was in Brownwood to attend to.
I travel through Brownwood frequently and have stayed at other hotels but Best Western Riata is the best one I've experienced. Very central location, close to restaurants, with very friendly staff and very comfortable rooms.
My family and I stayed at Best Western Plus Riata in Brownwood And we do not regret it we Will most different at least stay again when we visit our family and Brownwood this time stuff there is amazing real sweet always on time I smile on their face making sure that we get the service that we deserve in the breakfast there is delicious they have a lot to choose from for you to eat in the morning y'all people should try this place it is amazing I give this place a five star
This stay was a halfway point in an 8 hr travel itinerary. Very pleased with our stay here. Courteous staff, clean facilities and a wide variety of breakfast choices. We will definitely choose this location again.
We've stayed at several properties in Brownwood and this is by far the best. Clean, relatively quiet (for a hotel near a highway frequented by semis) and a decent standard hot breakfast. There's not much to do in this town, but if you find yourself here, pick the Best Western.
Although there are a couple of negatives about it, the Best Western + Riata in Brownwood is a beautifully clean hotel, conveniently located on Commerce Street (the main drag) and near the famous Underwood's Cafeteria. Rooms are operating room-clean and the bathroom sparkles. The breakfast smorgasbord offers the usual fare: sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereals, etc., and good, fresh coffee. The problem (to me) are the draconian signs proclaiming NO DOGS ALLOWED both in the lobby, online and in the rooms. The reason may be Brownwood, itself. Brownwood is off the beaten track, a town in the middle of nowhere. No one visits it except for business, family or hunting. Consequently, hoteliers there may be unaware that a many people travel with their pets now. By contrast, Amarillo is a city located on Highway 66/Interstate 40. A good number of transcontinental travelers include their pets along with their kids as they move East or West down the “Mother Road.” Hotels such as the Drury Inn in Amarillo realize this and have profited greatly by being pet friendly and by being understanding of people who might not be able to leave their “four-footed children” behind. Hopefully, the Best Western + Riata will someday understand this too. In short, a nice place to stay, but leave Fido at home.
Stayed one night in hotel on July 2022. You can tell that the hotel has been updated, room was clean and appeared somewhat new. Breakfast was okay but they did have a great selection of items to chose from. Pillows were a little uncomfortable. Our only complain was that there were small ants in the hotel room. I did notice that the hotel clerk had written other hotel rooms that had ants in them on his notecard. The clerk apologized for the ants and that was it. Hotel seemed a little pricey for a stay but it is Brownwood and there are not many hotels to chose from.
What a GEM. The staff and service at this hotel were fantastic. We had a small group and they took special care of for several days. The breakfast was great and rooms were so nice. Beds were comfy and the rooms were immaculately clean. We will be back. highly recommend !
Room was clean, Pool was nice. There were a variety of breakfast items each morning. Its on the main street of Brownwood so its near every story they pretty much have there. I would definitely stay there again when I go back.
The hotel was great. The people were very friendly, very helpful and were always asking if we needed anything. The atmosphere was very welcoming. It had a Walmart, an Aldi's and fast food places across the street. I would highly recommend this hotel. The managers, Dominique and Patricia are awesome, right along with the Housekeeping girls, Erica and Aniah!
We keep staying at this location despite it having changed hands over the last ten years or so... This last stay was the best by far! Clean nice room, good temperatute and good window blind assemblies. Beds were good, and bathroom was clean. Kitchenette area was in good condition.
This was a totally random selection on-line. I hit a homerun with this pick. Hotel was very clean, modern, quiet and staff was very friendly. It was a good value for the money compared to a Hampton Inn where I stayed in Abilene. It is convenient to all major highways, restaurants and museums. Would definitely stay there again. I travel a lot and this is one of the best in recent memory.
You will not be disappointed - the rooms are very clean and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Your room is clean daily: bed made, towels replenished, trash taken out, and toiletries replaced. My only issue was an odor in the bathroom, but discover the bathtub drain was closed or the sink drain was closed causing the odor not to vent properly. Overall, the best hotel I've stayed at in a while being on the road for my job--this hotel restores my faith small towns do have nice hotels.
Great stay. We don't usually stay at Best Western hotels because we are fans of another chain but I may have changed my mind. Excellent service very stylish. Clean and new. Great amenities and loved the breakfast. And some genius final realized white towels don't belong in bathrooms. The person who thought of having black makeup washcloths deserves a raise.
I don't travel a lot but when I do stay in a hotel I tend to notice the little things. They are currently doing a little renovation which is non-intrusive and really not noticeable. But the rooms are very large, very spacious, multiple TVs and very clean. Would definitely stay here again. I'll let you know if anything changes after breakfast.
We will definitely return to this hotel. The price is very fair, friendly staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds. The entire hotel was so clean. Everything was in working order. Hot and free breakfast. Rooms are very updated and feel like a much more expensive hotel.
Our overall experience was great! The staff was very caring to make our week long stay comfortable and enjoyable. We usually stay at Best Westerns and Brownwood Best Western is the best one yet!! Thank you for the caring staff.
We love this BWP. The staff is amazing. Everyone from Mr. Stewart the owner, Patricia the GM, Aimee the Night Auditor and Patricia in housekeeping were there to make our stay great! I don't always get the names but the staff was so wonderful I asked for names. This was our third trip here and we were not disappointed. We will stay here wherever we are in town. They had plenty of room for our truck and trailer and everything was clean. They coffee is also GREAT!!!! Thank you for a great stay and see you next time!
5 star friendly clean love it thanks keep up the good work i will always go to a bestwestern hotel and expect great things my family loves it and its always one around the towns we visit. thanks staff and thanks rewards.my basketball teams even enjoyed there stay back in the days with bestwestern we will come again and they we always keep that experience in their mind.
Our room was really excellent and the bed was extremely comfortable. I noticed the floors are bare now probably because of the current situation, but a pair of slippers did the trick. It would be nice if we could find beds like that for homes.
Newer facility with restaurants and shopping nearby. Large, comfy suite rooms, 2 televisions, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap. In room coffee, micro and fridge. Breakfast: scrambled and boiled eggs, sausage, cereal, juices, coffee, tea, milk, bread items, biscuits + gravy, apples, oranges, yogurt. Great stop for us.
Really nice hotel bed was good room was clean room pretty quiet great coffee the elevator was acting up but they were working on it newly renovated and they were very friendly up front. The cleaning crew was very helpful
Experienced numerous, minor repairs that took too long to correct. We had to continually remind the front desk that we needed the repairs done. Also, lots of drama at the front desk with the breakfast crew.
Very pleasant stay everything was great, especially the staff. The lobby area was perfect for hanging out and conversing with friends and equally as nice for breakfast in the morning. Over all I can not think of anything I would change it was a perfect stay. Thanks so much
We took a weekend trip with our granddaughters, and spent a night at this nice hotel. Very clean and comfortable, with friendly and accommodating staff. Breakfast was nothing to write home about, but, hey it was free! Overall a nice experience. We would stay here again.
I am a travel nurse and my stay at this location was very comfortable, convenient at a decent rate. I enjoyed have the extra counter space for prepping my meal and the room it self was very clean and spacious. Will continue to use.
This is our first stay at a Best Western in a long time. I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's cleanliness and especially the staff. I wish I had their names however, every staff member I ran across during our short stay were happy and congenial. From the cleaning people, breakfast staff, front desk and everyone in between made us feel welcome and at home.
Trip to farm near Plainview stayed in Brownwood hotel near Underwoods BBQ and convenient. Updated and great in this range of hotels. Lady handling breakfast was fantastic. Great stay but noisy road so ask for room away from highway
My husband and I totally enjoyed our stay at Best Western in Brownwood, Texas. The staff were extremely courteous and efficient. The hot breakfast was so convenient and delicious food. The outside pavilion was a nice way for the guests to relax outside the rooms. The toiletries provided were of great quality. The room was very clean and the second window shade curtain were great to use to see out and not let sun inside the room. The hotel is located right next to the fabulous Underwoods Cafeteria and other restaurants in walking distance.
The staff at this hotel was some of the best I have ever encountered. Everyone from check in to check out was very attentive. The cleanliness and the fact they are pretty strict on their no smoking policy, makes it a plus. There are not cigarette butts everywhere. I also loved that the ten commandments are on a stone right outside the front door. The staff reflected this. The room was updated and comfortable. Would highly recommend!!!
This is the 10th hotel my senior-citizen mom, 6 year old, and I have stayed at in the last 14 days and disappointingly, the only one we've had problems with. We prepaid online through a 3rd party (Priceline). When we went to check in, the 3rd party's credit card declined for some reason. We showed the lady at the front desk our confirmation saying the room was prepaid on our end, and that the issue was on their end with Priceline, and still she refused, rather rudely, to help us. "Your card declined. I can't check you in." We even asked her to call Priceline or the manager so we could sort everything out, and she wouldn't. My mom asked, "so, what are we supposed to do? We've paid for a room we're not going to get to stay in?", and the lady said "I don't know, that's a problem between you and Priceline." I've worked at a hotel front desk and I know that priceline is often viewed as the ugly stepchild of the hotel industry, but they had the best rate today and we still paid well over $100 for the room. At my hotel, if there was an issue with prepaid guests, we went ahead and checked them in, and then called the 3rd party to straighten out the billing issues. I would have been fine with waiting to be checked in and her making an effort by calling Priceline or the manager to help us get checked in. At the BARE MINIMUM, as a paying guest, I expected some level of courtesy and professionalism. We've stayed at several Best Westerns over the last few weeks and this stay was unexpected and disappointing. When she tried the card again, it went through. She checked us in without an apology.
Stayed at the Best Western in Brownwood and love this motel. Rooms have just been redone and are large and very livable. Staff was exceptional, breakfast was great had a nice pool and recreation area and plenty of safe parking. Highly recommend.
I was extremely satisfied with the cleanliness of the hotel and condition of the rooms. It looks like the hotel was recently renovated. The service was excellent as well. The breakfast offered a good variety and the hotel was conveniently located.
Best Western and Patricia made our stay amazing! They welcomed us with smiles and a personalized sign! All of our guests were amazed and treated well. They followed up with us for months to ensure our stay was perfect! I can't thank you enough. Many will come back to Texas to visit because of y'all and your southern, small-town, hospitality.
This is an excellent property - the decor in the rooms is nice and modern - cool accent lighting under the bed. The bathroom decor and amenities are also very nice and modern. The restaurant next door is old school cool and good!
Best Western Riata Plus is a very nice place to stay. It's newly remodeled and feels very comfortable, welcoming and modern. Right in the middle of town with access to lots of new places Brownwood has to offer.
I am starting to like staying at Best Western more and more. They have never disappointed and after a long day off driving so nice to know they have a room ready and available. I mainly stay 1 night and would like to see the prices drop at some locations. I am usually tired and don't want to haggle on price but $140.00 for 1 night is quite pricey.
We needed a room to accommodate 5 as we had our grandkids with us and didn't want to split our group. This option was offered at a very good price and quality. Even our picky eater found plenty for breakfast. Well maintained hotel with great staff.
From the time we pulled into the driveway, the stay was easy breezy. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and the room was beautifully updated and modern. The location was easy to locate and it was very quiet.
The receptionist was very informative and helpful. The room was very clean and suitable for my stay for the night. Had to have the handicap room due to 83 Year old mother traveling with me, she had no issues with the room very accessible. If I did have to change anything would be the shower/bathtub, was too hard to get her in shower. But that by no means was a deal breaker. The beds were extremely comfortable and clean
Nicely remodeled location. Good amenities both in the lobby and the room itself. Very comfortable stay. Room had a nice updated decor with good amenities. TV picture was adequate. Room lighting was good but had to discover how to turn off the accent lighting. Staff was very cool and helpful from top to bottom. This establishment exceeded expectations.
I was woken from sleep at almost 1:00am by a man who lied about being the manager/ yelling and pounding on my door threatening me with police if I didn't show my service dog paperwork. Then they called at 6:00am demanding my credit card because they didn't charge but credited my account. They also informed me they were charging my card a $50 pet fee then they charged my card $100. They also called the police to have me arrested. I checked in and paid as a women with a service dog.
The entire checking process was smooth. The staff was very cordial and friendly. There are eating establishments within walking distance and right off highway. The room was nice, bed comfortable, and the shower had hot water.
While my dsughter was attending Howard Payne, we came in to stay a few times and stayed here 3 separate times. It does need some finishing touches, but the rooms are very spacious, beds are very comfortable and room is clean. Ignore the nasty pool though, needs to be complete redone! Staff is always nice when we come in.
In town for Christmas. Room was clean staff was attentive and went above and beyond to make our stay great. Breakfast was tasty. We stayed 3 nights. We will book there every time we visit from now on.
Although this hotel is under going a renovation, there is no excuse for how dirty and gross this place is at all levels. Receptionist was asleep at counter and light off at reception area. Hallways extremely dirty. Bath tub was so bad I didn't take a bath. Totally rusted. Towel rails missing. The bed was new, I think and was fine. The breakfast was terrible. Looked liked nobody was paying attention that the eggs were almost gone but what was left was all dried up.
I paid twice what other hotels in the area so I would have a nice clean room. Here is a list of the worst stuff. The owners quote to me was " We are private owned so we don't have to go by any company standards." This is obvious from the condition of this hotel. * Floor (carpet) was stained and sticky. * No ice machine, * Back door only worked part time, * Pool green and not open, * Exercise room not available. * One computer in business center (I couldn't get to work or get the room light on). * Elevator door opened but the floor was not floor level. * One coffee pod and * Old coffee pod in coffee pot. * Poor lighting in room. * No usb port chargers. * Coffee at breakfast was like water * No regular creamer for the coffee. * Card board and tape for room numbers. * No baseboard or paint to the floor on halls * Dryer lint was blowing out of dryer vent I was afraid of fire from this. I paid over $160 for this hotel and could have had a better room for $30.
One of my friends stayed here and you charged her for something they did not take. Your staff was also very rude. If I am every in the area, will not being stating at this place!!!! You would think in this day and age with competition thatcustomer service would be your priority...
